Chapter Historian Position Essay
Hello, I am Julianna Prato, a sophomore at Lakeland Senior High School. Throughout the year I
had the opportunity to work closely with the current Chapter Historian and I found myself falling
in love with the position. I now would like to run for the position of Chapter Historian for
Lakeland High School FBLA.
I would like to run for the position of Chapter Historian because Historian helps document history.
It is the Historian s responsibility to take pictures of their chapter and create a scrapbook that
would be presented as the State Leadership Conference however I want to do so much more with
the position. One day, my advisor showed me a scrapbook that was created in 1976 and by
looking at that scrapbook it showed me how powerful they are, that one day thirty years from now
another Historian could be looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I want to make sure that the 2015 2016 Lakeland High School FBLA be remembered for a long
time. Like I previously stated I had the amazing opportunity to work closely with the current
Chapter Historian for Lakeland High School FBLA. By working so closely with the Historian I
was able to learn the time and dedication it took to hold this position and learn that I was
completely up to the challenge. Lastly, I knew that the position of Chapter Historian was the
only position for me because you need to have creativity when it comes to a position like this.
Not only do the Historians have to create a scrapbook they also have to create the chapter display
and a raffle basket that are all presented at the State Leadership Conference. Also, please consider
me for the position of Chapter Secretary as well. Being Secretary along with Historian will allow
me to work on getting Lakeland High School FBLA chapter of the year at the next leadership
conference more efficiently since both the secretary s binder and the scrapbook are

Emancipation Proclamation Research Paper
The Emancipation Proclamation
Growing up in an African American Baptist church I never realized the importance of Watch Night
service. The Watch Night service can be drawn back to get togethers also known as Freedom s Eve.
On that night of December 31, 1862, Black slaves and freed blacks originated together in private
homes and churches all across the country awaiting on the news that the Emancipation Proclamation
actually had become a law. (The First Watch Night Service Occurs).
On January1, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Emancipation Proclamation, while the
nation was coming near its third year of the bloody civil war. The proclamation affirmed that all
persons held as slaves within the rebellious states are, and henceforward

The Effect of Stress on Health
The Effect of Stress on Health
Introduction
Stress is a common phenomenon that affects people in some way (Barringer Orbuch, 2013).
However, the level of stress varies from mild to acute stress. Research has shown concrete evidence
on the impact of stress on physical and emotional health of humans. This works explore the
contribution of stress on health status.

Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this study is to highlight the depth to which stress affects physical and emotional
health of an individual.
Specific Research Methods

Excessive release of this chemical leads to sleeplessness that affects normal human cycle. This
contributes immensely to regular and sustained burnouts due to sleep deprivation (Seib, Whiteside,
Humphrey, Lee, Thomas, Chopin, ... Anderson, 2014). Additionally, catecholamines affect the
frontal region of the brain, which is instrumental in short term and long term memories (King,
Lloyd Holewa, 2008). This leads to poor memory and retention capacity. Acute stress tends to have a
long term mental health impact that affects multiple regions.
The second response mechanism towards stress is by the heart, circulatory system and the lungs
(Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). Uncontrolled release of metabolic signals leads to poor digestion
and absorption of bear. As the concentration of bear increases, the heart beat increases to try and
distribute the concentration of bear to other parts of the body, which leads to an increase in blood
pressure (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). To country oxygen demand, the breathing system
suddenly increases as the lungs take in as much oxygen as they possibly can to satisfy its shortage
in the blood stream (Wells, 2013). On the other hand, the spleen increases discharge of white and
red blood cells to ensure that more blood cells are available to transport excess oxygen throughout
the circulatory system. Research has

The Optimization Problem Of Matlab Routines
Relevant numerical techniques, which have been done with the help of MATLAB routines, are
applied to solve the arising optimization problem and to find the optimum parameters of the TMD.
For a given mass ratio, Вµ, one can assume different values of the frequency ratio, f, and for each
frequency ratio assuming a range of dampingfactor О¶2 of the TMD and estimate the optimum
parameters that minimize a certain desired output. Fig. 8 is an example of the numerical
optimizationconducted to estimate the optimal frequency ratio and damping factor of the TMD for
two different mass ratios under windloads modeled as white noise. The optimization is based on the
minimization of the displacement of the primary structure. In this numerical optimization, the
responses of the primary structure are normalized, which means that the response obtained with the
TMD when attached to the structure is divided by the corresponding response obtained without the
TMD. The optimal values of the frequency ratio and the damping factor of the TMD are written on
the subfigures. It is shown that a TMD with 1% mass ratio can provide a significant reduction in
the displacement response of the primary structure. The reduction in the displacement depends very
much on the tuning frequency and the damping ratio of the TMD. By increasing the mass ratio
from 1% to 5%, the displacement response of the primary structure is reduced. However, the TMD
with 5% mass ratio is more robust to the changes in the frequency

Man is God s best creation. His intelligence and thirst for knowledge has led him to explore even
the impossible. The exploration of space by man is an example of his thirst for knowledge and
desire for adventure. This is also one of the greatest achievements of man. Space contains the
whole universe including all the planets, the sun, the moon and the stars. The limit where the
earth s atmosphere ends is called outer space. Yuri Gagarin of Russia in 1961, became the first
man to go into space. He circled the earth in 108 minutes and returned safely. Later, in 1963,
Valentina Tereshkova became the first women to go into space. She stayed in orbit for 5 days and
returned safely to the earth. In 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin of America became the
first men to land on the moon. They reached the moon on board the spaceship Apollo 11 and spent
21 hours on its surface. They collected rock and soil samples and returned safely to the earth. As
time went on, many successful attempts were undertaken. Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to be
sent to space. Satellites and spacecrafts have been launched for various purposes. The atmosphere
in space is used for television programmes, radio broadcasts, telecommunication, etc. Satellites
provide advanced disaster warning and help to forecast the weather. Distance educational

Should There Be Harsher Punishment For Bullying
Wow, what a great question! Should there be harsher punishments for bullying? Yes, there should
be harsher punishments for bullying. The two main reasons is why I believe this. One main reason
why is people commit suicide for bullying. My second reason is it s not just the person that getting
bullied people around them are getting hurt.
My first reason is that many people commit suicide. This is what many people do when they get
bullied is mainly they want to escape life and they don t want to worry any more. I do know how
it feels to get bullied. I ve been called fat, ugly, weird, and have many people talk about me. The
main reason i picked this topic is because i ve almost committed suicide. Most people don t

Remember The Titans Segregation
Remember The Titans is a great football movie, and an even better civil rights movie. The movie
shows how TC Williams handled desegregation and how the football team brought the
community together. When the white players and black players came together for the first time,
they did not get along. Coach Herman Boone took the team to a camp, and the players started to
get along. When the players went back to school, they experienced the racism all over again.
Eventually, the team helped the school and community get over the desegregation. The movie
takes place in 1971, and TC Williams High School was one of the first high schools in the area to
desegregate. The type of segregation that the school had was de facto, which means that blacks
and whites could go to school together. However, there were still segregated schools because the
kids in a neighborhood went to school together, and the neighborhoods were usually full of people
of one race. Brown vs. Board of Education was an event that led to the... Show more content on

The most important part of the trip was that the players became close to each other and the team
was a family. Coach Boone made all of the players learn about each other and become
comfortable with each other. The camp was also essential for conditioning and learning plays.
Seeing how hard the players were pushed, you can tell that they would be in very good shape.
There was a big difference of how the team was when they boarded the bus to go to the camp,
and when they arrived home. I think that going to the camp was one of the biggest reasons for
the teams success. In conclusion, Remember the Titans was a very powerful movie. It was very
enjoyable to watch, and is personally one of my favorite movies. Remember the Titans shows how
a football team helps their community overcome the integration of blacks into TC Williams High
School. I would highly recommend this movie to anybody, even if they didn t like

Music And Political Conflict Between Hong Kong And China
The Sociology of music has become a hot button field of study in worldwide in recent years. The
purpose of this research essay is to explore the connections between music and political conflict
between Hong Kong and China. Through understanding the current conflict circumstance arose in
Hong Kong and China, I intend to demonstrate the penetrating power of music, as a social
transmitter of messages, within the society. Besides, it is also important to understand the
perspective of different actors within the whole process of making political songs, such as the
songwriters thinking and intention. In doing so, this essay examines how the social aspects of

Therefore, it is a worthy qualitative sociological study because this research aim to give the
audience a closer look of the following three aspects: What factors have strategically inspired song
writers in making music in relates to a particular social phenomenon?, Does the rise of political
songwriters target a certain class of people?, and Why some music with strong emphasis on
historical and political contexts are banded in China?
Literature Review (based on 3 peer reviewed scholarly sources):
The common assumption throughout the selected sources was to describe the intensification of the
conflict between Hong Kong And Public Republic Of China through contextual data. (Baehr
2001; Wai Chung Ho, 2000; Wai Chung 2006) In the first place, it is important to have
knowledge of the origin of the political conflict between Hong Kong and Public Republic of
China before examining its relation to the hot flash of local politic song. Baehr (2001) depicts The
retrocession of Hong Kong to China on 1 July 1997 was marked a major consequences for both
domestic and Chinese politics. The focal point is that One country, two systems has become the
constitutional principle to Hong Kong, and remain unchanged for 50 years. Not surprisingly, social
problems arise due to the hardship in assuring everyone to share a common value within the society,
which is the matter of identity . To further examine this idea, Baehr highlights that

I have decided to do a presentation on the diagnoses and prognoses of a broad disorder. This is
Autism Spectrum Disorder and the many levels that are alone in this disorder. The basics of which
range from those that are non verbal, low social and progress up to the high intelligence and low
social variant. Classic autismis what most people see as the only form and those visual clues
include: nonverbal communication, increased focus and concentration of the individual on a

As early as 18 months to 3 years of age is when most children are diagnosed in one form or another
under the Spectrum. Parents generally see the evidence of the child showing tendencies towards the
Spectrum and therefore will reach for an assessment and eventually a diagnosis. A lot of the
indicators towards testing and diagnosis is the child not hitting normal milestones that a
neurotypical peer would reach at the same point. Generally, it is more delayed indicating a possible
problem. Currently there is not a medical test that is used to reach a diagnosis. In the
diagnostic process they use a multidisciplinary approach. The approach to diagnose includes

A team isn t just a group of people united in a common goal as Vince Lombardi stated. Just like a
family, a team learns and grows together. Winning or losing isn t as important as growing and
improving. My father always says that in tennis you can learn more from your losses than your
victories. This is true for life too. When your in a family, you learn so much from each other s
failures. You learn what to do and what not to do. You also learn how to be there for each other
when times get tough. This unites you as a family and brings you closer together. The same
thing happens on a team. When I was younger, I swam for the Marlins Swim team. We practiced
twice a day in the summer, and it was exhausting. Our coaches pushed us hard to get us ready for
the Conference Meet against our biggest rivals, the Normal Parks and Rec Sharks and the team
from Rob Knight. We all wanted to win so badly that we were willing to give up most of our
summer break to do laps in the pool at 6:00am. One of the boys on our team had special needs,
but he practiced hard just like anybody else. When it came time for the Conference Meet, our

Essay On Mercury Pollution
Mercury pollution occurs from industrial sources such as mining, power plants and coal
combustion centers. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around
the world before it ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat.
Through the trade of those fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution.
Newborns are also at risk of mercury pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers,
thousands of babies are at risk every year of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ).
In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we need to implement a policy to clean up sites
already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into the water and provide consumers on
tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the amount of mercury is to focus
on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since the mercury would have
had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes further harm. Some of
the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example of a site that is
being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites of mills
and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch. Nevada
at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be in
effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the
contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has
already reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a
layer of clean topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also
worked in sampling 26 different developments for mercury affects and levels. They are working
on figuring out the cost and benefit of cleaning up the rivers sediment to try to remove the
mercury from the river, wetlands and reservoir. In the meantime short term cleanup will be done in
order to prevent threats to the population( Carson River Mercury Site ). The second step in my
policy to reduce the mercury levels would be to limit the amount of discharge

The Russian Mafia
The Russian Mafia, also known as Bratva (Brotherhood) is a collection of various organized crime
groups that originated during the former Soviet Union era. It is made up of underworld leadership
in which engages in providing illegal goods and services that range anywhere from drugs and
weapons smuggling to gambling and human trafficking. As in the U.S, there is no universally
accepted definition of organized crimein Russia. However, the Bratva shares many basic
characteristics with other well known criminal organizations such as the Italian Mafia. Therefore,
the definition that has been commonly used in the U.S will be fitting for the Bratva as well. The
FBI defines organized crimeas, any group having some manner of a formalized structure and
whose primary objective is to obtain money through illegal activities (FBI). The Bratva falls under
this definition with one of its many groups, the Vory v Zakone , which translates to Thieves in law
. They are bound by a code of honor in which states that one is not to make a living on anything
other than thievery, complete submission to the laws of criminal life, including obligations to
support the criminal ideal and refusal to participate in all political activities (Omics).

Gilgamesh and Enkidu are obviously doubles of each other, but yet they still manage to inspire
Gilgamesh to become a better leader. Gilgamesh is the King who is known by everyone and

beginning he wasn t known and was a threat by huntsmen and other people. Both Gilgamesh and
Enkiduare two of the strongest men that people recognize and intelligent. They both have the
arrogant personality of knowing how special that they truly are. Even though Gilgamesh beats
Enkidu in their fight that they have, they decide to be friends with each other while

Discount For Commodity
Discount for Commodities
In order to determine the necessities of the duty of goodness, the effects of present behaviors need
to be weighted based on the present and future s goodness through the utilization of cost benefit
analysis. Whether implicit or explicit, ethics is always implicated when debating about climate
change, and so Broome, as a philosopher, examines and criticizes economists ethical judgments.
Broom discusses and analyzes the discount rate based on commodities, well being, and time used in
economic analysis of climate change.
The discount rate is a specific annual rate that expresses the future commodity value compared to
the present commodity value. It is based on a cost benefit analysis when the future people s benefits

The marginal benefit of money is the amount by which a small increase in a person s wealth
increases that person s well being, and it is inversely proportional to a person s wealth (Broome
124). As a result of the growth of the economy, future people will possess more commodities and
so there will be a diminishing marginal value of commodities. Broome gives evidence that the
economy is likely to grow, so commodities should be discounted positively. If future people will be
better off as mentioned earlier, present people can discount for well being because the value of an
addition to well being in the future will be less than the value of an addition to present well being.
Broome argues that this theory conflicts with utilitarianism, which gives a quantitative aggregation
of well being. Utilitarianism can be a theory of human goodness; however, it does not distribute the
well being among individuals. In contrast, Broome mentions Prioritarianism, which supports the
increase of well being of the disadvantaged than to the privileged and promotes equitable
distribution of well being. Prioritarianism and Utilitarianism are contrasting theories because
Prioritarianism, an ethical claim, supports discounting the value of marginal changes in well being
to the future generations, assuming they are better off than the present people while Utilitarianism
does not

The Pros And Cons Of Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles began taking the market by storm when Nissan introduced its mass production
Leaf model in 2011. Since then, nearly every manufacturer has brought its own EV to the market.
The future appears bright for EVs, especially as engineering improvements make them more
efficient and cost effective. That said, we will examine the good, the bad and the ugly of electric
vehicles to help you make an informed decision about this emerging technology.
The Good
1. No emissions. One of the big reasons EVs are so attractive to some is that they emit absolutely
no emissions. If you are worried about your direct impact on the environment, an electric vehicle
will allay those concerns.
2. No gas. How often do you visit the service station to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Less maintenance. Electric cars still require maintenance, although oil changes, exhaust system
care and spark plug changes are a thing of the past. One thing that will not change is brake system
care, although the regenerative braking system on EVs usually means your brake pads will
typically last twice as long than with a conventional gas powered model.
The Bad
1. Your upfront cost. Electric vehicleprices have come down, but they are still higher than
comparable gas powered models. A Nissan Leaf will cost you at least $30,000 new, while a well
equipped Nissan Sentra costs about $20,000. Fortunately, taxpayers may find themselves eligible
for a $7,500 federal tax credit as well as state level credits, rebates and incentives. Ideally, you will
want to recoup the cost of your investment, something government backed incentives make
possible. In a best case scenario, the bad can actually be categorized as good.
2. Restricted range. Run low on gas and you can fuel your conventional vehicle within minutes.
With an electric vehicle, you can only travel so many miles before you must connect to a power
source. Even with longer ranges for second generation EVs, weather and driving factors can
reduce the published range by one third or more according to the EPA. Suddenly, that EV with a
150 mile range may need a charge after just 100 miles of

In general, the complaints allege that Visa and MasterCard engaged in a conspiracy to restrain

the Fixed Acquirer Network Fee (FANF) and the PIN Authenticated Visa Debit Mandate (PAVD),
policies still in place, that frustrate debit competition. . It is unclear what, if any, damages may be

Media s Influence On The Media
Being able to understand all sides of the story is very important when trying to pick a side.
Today, news broadcasters are notorious for providing everyone with bias news. There are six
main news sources which are called the Power House Networks; Fox news, ABC News, CBS,
CNN, MSNBC, and NBC, but unfortunately each one pushes a different political view. A good
example is a current event about the health care plan by which each powerhouse network pushes
their political view. Newsviewers tend to be oblivious when it comes to biasin the media because
they would rather hear what they believe is right. There are many ways to find truth in journalism
that everyone needs to be aware of for example, going to more than one source and conducting a...

Most if not all of media is biased. A one sided world would be an example of a utopia or a perfect
world and in this case people are talking about a perfect society and media. Media is meant to
entertain and feed to all different types of people. For example, in politics there are people that
are in the left and right wing. Scholastic.com states that, the Left winged people are liberal,
moderates are in the middle, and conservatives are on the right. When it comes to the media of
course people are going to want to tune into what appeals more to themselves. So if someone
were to be a liberal, the person would want to watch a network that would be more appealing to
their preferences and beliefs, to get their views validated.
Usually, media is controlled by one sided thoughts and people. When listening to the media
people are more than likely hearing only one side of the full story. The media is filtered through
prisms that are one sided because they want it to only come out one way, the network s way.
Bernie Goldberg states, you have a whole bunch of people who think alike. It s groupthink.
Bernie also says And that s the problem with bias, not a conspiracy but too many like minded
people making the decisions on what the audience and the readers gets to read and see. The media
can also scare you into believing them. For instance, they tend to say that everything around us is
lethal and is going to harm us. We will forever be in the hands

First Person Narrative Research
First person narrative research is a term that uses a group of approaches that in turn depend on
spoken words, written works or pictures/drawings of people. These approaches tend to focus on the
lives of individuals as told through their own stories. The importance and focus within such
approaches is in the narrative, usually based on both what and how it is narrated. The audience
validates narrative research. Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always

The narrative method allows for an intimate look into the emotions, thoughts and experiences
within a story based on the fact that another has witnessed such or intern through another s work

through another is also a huge benefit of the method making it easier for the truth to come out and
harder for lies to see the light. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods
tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not
seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many problems can also
be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. The limited perspective is detrimental
in the sense that only that one perspective s views through emotion and feeling are used to describe
the situation if there had only been one account. Unless there are multiple viewpoints from different
individuals who think and act differently put together to create one image from all different sides,
which isn t very practical to do. The narrative method also creates a restricted view in the sense that
anything the reader does not know, you don t know. Such as taking into consideration different
socio contexts and the individuals thinking spectrums. The narrative account may also be biased,
understanding the story through ones eyes, leaves room for events and facts to change based on

Plato Vs. Aristotle On Observational And Deductive Reasoning
Since the early sixth century, the questions of reality, matter, and change have perplexed
philosophers. These questions have since become a major topic of inquiry amongst philosophers
eventually garnering the attention of notable figures such as Plato and his pupil Aristotle. Although
both Plato and Aristotle shared many similar notions of order and an eternal universe, their
methods of inquisition as well as their theories of reality and truth vary significantly. This
difference would eventually lead them to develop vary different notions of real knowledge. Plato
primarily focusing on theoretical and mathematical proofs while Aristotle on observational and
deductive reasoning primarily in the field of biology. Due to these stark differences in both men s
philosophy, I will be contrasting both their beliefs, theories and methods, as it relates to knowledge,
its acquisition and change. I will also be discussing my opinions as the importance of their
individual philosophy as it relates to answering these questions.
Although Plato and Aristotle both believed that logic and order governed the natural world, they
disagreed on the nature of this design and thus their ideas of reality. Plato believed that all things in
our world are innately imperfect. The thing we see are just crude representations of an abstract
universal construct. Plato referred to this abstraction as the form which exists independently of all
material things in the mind of some divine architect (the

Implementing A Successful Cross Training Program Essay
CREATING AND IMPLEMENTING A SUCCESSFUL CROSS TRAINING
PROGRAMBefore developing a cross training program, we need to plan accordingly. Not all
employees need to be trained in all positions. We need to cross train a little at a time as there is
no need to cross train all our employees at the same time. I suggest creating a formal job rotation
program. We could reduce the workload during the training process since it will take the new
person longer to perform the task until their individual proficiency is reached. This reduced
workload will help employees feel less resentful that they are being required to do more work.
Lastly, we must remember that employees don t retain the cross training skills forever and must
be re trained periodically. The following questions need to be addressed: How will we
communicate the strategy to employees; especially those employees who for various reasons may
not be the best fit for cross training? What are the positions within the organization should be
targeted for a cross training initiative? Which employees are ready to be cross trained and how will
we determine who will be cross trained? In order to answer these questions, we must examine the
following.Communication. We need to introduce to the employees the benefits of cross training.
Explain to them that will be learning new skills that can help them grow. We must be sure to
explain that the reason for cross training is not to eliminate positions, but to increase their overall
development

If you were McMahon Group, how would you present the findings of your study to the NCRCC

Data presentation of research findings will depend on the research methodology used to collect

group used focus groups which are a qualitative method of collecting data. The analysis and
presentation of data in qualitative research rely on the use of words to explain the research
findings. Raw data collected from either primary or secondary sources need to be in a form that
can facilitate analysis and interpretation. Results of the study, for instance, can be presented by the
use of graphs, pie charts, and tables. Evaluating which of this approach is suitable depends on the
intricacy and amount of data presented (Attride, 2001).
Qualitative research methods use semi structured and unstructured methods to collect data. The

The Importance Of Natural Rights Of The Chimpanzee
Introduction
They are our closest evolutionary cousins. They wear our clothes and star in our TV shows. Yet,
they are treated cruelly in the poaching industry and research facilities. They have been observed
meeting most of the criteria for what we define as human , yet their habitats and wellbeing are
being intruded everyday. The belief that all humans have ascribed natural rights that can not be
infringed upon by a system of government is a fairly new concept, becoming predominant in the
20th century. However, religious scriptures have made mention of these concepts as early as 5
thousand years ago. It is apparent that though concrete natural rights for persons may be a recent
idea in society, civilizations have been attempting to define the rights of personhood for millennia. I
use the language persons , intentionally, to exhibit the contrast between this and human . Though the
two words have become almost synonymous in modern day language, personhood is not
exclusively defined by humanity by definition. We simply have not observed any species that we
have unanimously considered worthy of this title. This brings in a moral dilemma, as people
wonder what species, if any, should be ascribed personhood along with its rights, and to what
extent. I propose that a potential candidate, that will kickstart conversation about the rights of all
animals, is the Chimpanzee. A major justification for this is their genetic and behavioral similarity
to that of a person. Exhibiting a

The Spectroscopy Lab Centralized On The Properties Of Waves
The spectroscopy lab centralized on the properties of waves and they relate to the emission
spectrum, however one must understand the Bohr model of the atom first. The Bohr model for the
atom depicts a planetary like structure, with a positively charged nucleus in the center with small,
negatively charged electrons rotating around in specific, fixed orbits at different distances from the
nucleus. When an electrontransitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back
down to a lower orbital where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a
result of the electron releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an
electron in one state or another, however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed
in between states. Transitions between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower
energy transitions of a longer distance.
A spectroscope is able to display the emitted light by presenting the bright interference patterns of
the diverse wavelengths which make up the spectrum. By looking through the eyepiece, a spectrum
will appear on either side of the slit the slit starts all of the light waves passing down the tube in
phase so that they arrive at the slits in the diffraction grating at the same time. When wavelengths
are in phase, they create constructive interference, which results in double the amplification, while

The Church of the New Testament
The Church of the New Testament
There has never been and will never be a single universal religion. From the beginning of time
people have argued over who has the correct teachings, beliefs, and religious practices. However,
the Eastern Orthodox Church believes itself to be the one true religion as practiced in the New
Testament. Prior to 1054 AD, Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholicism were branches of the same
religious body. In 1054 AD the first division of Christian faiths occurred. There had long been
conflicts between the two churches that included the nature of the Holy Spirit, iconic worship, the
celebrations of Easter, and cultural differences. Roman Catholicism separated itself from the
Eastern Orthodox and began its own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They believe that Christ is the Son of God and that he was born of a virgin named Mary. Because
Jesus was born to a human, he himself is fully human and fully divine; the Son of God and the
Son of Man. They believe that Jesus, in his human form, saved the world by teaching the absolute
truth of God. They understand that Jesus forgave the evils of all men and the world; he suffered
and died in innocence, voluntarily and unjustly on the cross in order to be with all who suffer and
die.
This belief fits with the teachings from the book of Acts, that Jesus is the universal savior. A
continuation of the gospels of Luke, Acts remains an important book of the Bible in the sense that
it tells about the continuation of the teachings of Jesus passed on by his witnesses; essentially, the
retellings of Jesus stories. These retellings allowed the Christian religion to spread worldwide. The
New Testament, in my belief, has the same impact as Acts. It retells the story about the life of our
savior Jesus Christ and his teachings according to the word of god. It is important for any member
of society who wants to practice and understand any Christian religion. I have never attended an
Orthodox church prior to this course, but I will be attending a service in the near future. I look
forward to seeing how the mystical nature of their faith fits in with the teachings of Jesus. While I
can see similarities between my faith and the Orthodox faith, I expect to

Pathogenesis Of Arthrosclerosis
The pathogenesis of arthrosclerosis is a progressive disease of the vascular system, it starts while
we are young and progresses throughout our lives. The progression of arthrosclerosis, starts with an
injury to the endothelial lining of the arteries, from such diseases as, hypertension, high cholesterol,
diabetes and smoking. The damage to the endothelial cells causes dysfunction and the area with
endothelial cell inflammation draws leukocytes, cholesterol, vascular smooth muscle cells and
other debris, the buildup creates atherosclerotic plaque deposits in areas on an arterywall causing an
inflammatory process (Hoffman, 2007).
Over time the buildup of plaque on the artery walls produces hardening of the vessel walls and
blockages that slow the flow of blood throughout the body. Arthrosclerosis affects the heart,
peripheral arteries and the carotid and cerebral arteries that supply blood flow to the brain
(Arthrosclerosis, 2014). The effect on the body from arthrosclerosis causes other diseases to form,
peripheral vascular disease, coronary artery disease, hypertension, renal disease and stroke (Story,
2011). If the plaque buildup ruptures or breaks off, it forms a thrombus or blood clot that can cause
a stroke, heart attack or even death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those over forty years old have a fifty percent chance of developing arthrosclerosis and the
chances increase as we age. Ways to prevent arthrosclerosis or keeping it from worsening are to
stop smoking, eat a healthier diet, exercise and medications. Diabetics are at a higher risk for
developing arthrosclerosis because of the high levels of glucose in the blood that damages the
vessel, which creates inflammation and gives particles in the blood a place to stick and form plaque

Benefits Of Using New Virtual Technologies
Today s economy has become a global one due to the use of the internet. Traditional companies are
accepting the mission of using new virtual technologies in their business since the use of the
internet has opened larger and advantageous international markets. Proud of the costly
infrastructure, traditional companies are finding themselves being eclipsed by smaller companies
that have used the internet to attract new customers. In order to achieve great results, companies in
today s economy are obligated to embrace the use of the internet (Markus, T. 2008).
In recent years, larger companies have included more and more online processes because customers
are becoming more engaged with the internet, wanting to do everything by themselves. By cutting
much of the traditional companies expenses through the use of eCommerce, virtual companies are
stealing established companies market by offering better prices in the online market. According to
Markus, T. (2008), e commerce is an electronic market in which electronic sellers and buyers gather
in order to negotiate for products and services. E commerce gives the consumer multiple options
since the Internet contains endless number of products and services (Markus, T. 2008). Netflixis a
good example of an e commerce industry. Founded in 1997 by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings
in Scotts Valley, California, Netflix Inc. was a movie rental business by mail as many other offline
video providers. In 1999, since the company was not

Zoollover Animal Pandemic By Davis Quammen Summary
A spillover , also referred to as zoonosis, can be best described as a disease that has the capability
to cross from another species to human beings. The scientists until now, have been successful in
identifying approximately 200 zoonotic diseases. In the recommended book, Spillover: Animal
Infections and the Next Human Pandemic, Davis Quammen has highlighted the emergence and
significant effects of zoonotic both human and animal all over the Blue planet. He has covered a
good number of the infamous diseases including the Ebola, HIV, malaria, SARS, influenza and
Lyme disease. This revolutionary complex story written down by the well known contemporary
writer is an union of adventure, action and secrecy. What surprised me the most is that Quammen
traveled across the globe for discovering the beginning of pandemics and outbreaks affecting
humans. Throughout the book, he constantly shows that the zoonotic spillovers are the causes of
HIV, SARS, and other human epidemics whereby humans are affected by the microbes transferred
through animals. The author talks about the spillover events and their causes eventually allowing
the readers to understand that it is, in fact, human beings whose activities spark the entire cycle
/process of zoonosis and that they are the major role behind it.... Show more content on

It is actually an unique detective story in which the author follows an international detectives team

everyone interested in science and disease pathology

Problems of Society (Law, Crime, Punishment)
Definition of Legal system
Legal systems can be split between civil law and common law systems. The term civil law
referring to a legal system should not be confused with civil law as a group of legal subjects
distinct from criminal or public law. A third type of legal system accepted by some countries
without separation of church and state is religious law, based on scriptures. The specific system that
a country is ruled by is often determined by its history, connections with other countries, or its
adherence to international standards. The sources that jurisdictions adopt as authoritatively binding
are the defining features of any legal system. Yet classification is a matter of form... Show more

We all get attacked by those faulty ethereal goblins of our minds and hearts, but most of us succeed
to resist them. It s easy to act on anger, greed, revenge or any of highlighted above, but it takes
courage and strength to determine that there is something more important than that.
There are two core reasons why weakness prevails with some:
1) Lack of faith, not believing enough in the power of one s own internal weapons (against inner
demons), such as: courage, tolerance, understanding, forgiveness, mercy, honesty, sincerity,
integrity, honor, modesty, humbleness, generosity, love, compassion, kindness, detachment,
patience, self discipline, temperance, etc.
As a result of not trusting inner resources, there is no enough motivation to develop them and use
them.

because they are not balanced.

money being used to send robots up to space can be used to help with the cure of diseases then
why are not scientists being more intelligent with their spending? Why is the President giving

The Ancient Mariner Essay
The Ancient Mariner
Through The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Coleridge has created a masterpiece. This epic
reworks the ballad form so that it comes alive and speaks to the Romantic Age, breathing a story
as strange and delightful, mystical and wonderful as the mystery of life itself. The raw power of
the language, the startling speed at which it hurls you along and the arresting questions of the poem
fill your spirit with wonder at the operation of nature and the awesome mystery of evil.
There will always be those men whose imaginations transcend the limitations of their time.

By thy long grey beard and glittering eye, Now wherefore stopp st though me?
The scene is set, and already Coleridge s tightness and conciseness of narrative hastens through.
This powerful stanza and the following few paint a picture of enormous imaginative influence, as
this ancient mariner comes to a disturbing life. The strangeness, mysterious knowledge and
experience and a touch of the supernatural combine to hold the wedding guest in place he cannot
choose but hear . The eerie power of the mariner is contrasted with the joy of the wedding
beginning in the distance. Already we see that what we are entering is a world not of the ordered
but the disturbing not the controlled but the uncontrollable.
Powerful, rapid changes are undergone in the story, as we learn of a ship sailing from port and
then swept into a terrible storm and then a land of ice and snow. The romantic interest in nature is
revealed as the breathtaking wonder of massive icebergs float by in complete stillness, causing a
shiver to run down your spine.
Coleridge s sudden contrasts prove utter magic:
And now there came both mist and snow, And it grew wondrous cold: And ice, mast high, came
floating by, As green as emerald.
This stanza directly follows the intensity of the storm no time is wasted as one breathtaking detail
of nature is exchanged for another of completely different kind. Here the eerie

  • 2. Chapter Historian Position Essay Hello, I am Julianna Prato, a sophomore at Lakeland Senior High School. Throughout the year I had the opportunity to work closely with the current Chapter Historian and I found myself falling in love with the position. I now would like to run for the position of Chapter Historian for Lakeland High School FBLA. I would like to run for the position of Chapter Historian because Historian helps document history. It is the Historian s responsibility to take pictures of their chapter and create a scrapbook that would be presented as the State Leadership Conference however I want to do so much more with the position. One day, my advisor showed me a scrapbook that was created in 1976 and by looking at that scrapbook it showed me how powerful they are, that one day thirty years from now another Historian could be looking ... Like I previously stated I had the amazing opportunity to work closely with the current Chapter Historian for Lakeland High School FBLA. By working so closely with the Historian I was able to learn the time and dedication it took to hold this position and learn that I was completely up to the challenge. Lastly, I knew that the position of Chapter Historian was the only position for me because you need to have creativity when it comes to a position like this. Not only do the Historians have to create a scrapbook they also have to create the chapter display and a raffle basket that are all presented at the State Leadership Conference. Also, please consider me for the position of Chapter Secretary as well. Being Secretary along with Historian will allow me to work on getting Lakeland High School FBLA chapter of the year at the next leadership conference more efficiently since both the secretary s binder and the scrapbook are ... Excessive release of this chemical leads to sleeplessness that affects normal human cycle. This contributes immensely to regular and sustained burnouts due to sleep deprivation (Seib, Whiteside, Humphrey, Lee, Thomas, Chopin, ... Anderson, 2014). Additionally, catecholamines affect the frontal region of the brain, which is instrumental in short term and long term memories (King, Lloyd Holewa, 2008). This leads to poor memory and retention capacity. Acute stress tends to have a long term mental health impact that affects multiple regions. The second response mechanism towards stress is by the heart, circulatory system and the lungs (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). Uncontrolled release of metabolic signals leads to poor digestion and absorption of bear. As the concentration of bear increases, the heart beat increases to try and distribute the concentration of bear to other parts of the body, which leads to an increase in blood pressure (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). To country oxygen demand, the breathing system suddenly increases as the lungs take in as much oxygen as they possibly can to satisfy its shortage in the blood stream (Wells, 2013). On the other hand, the spleen increases discharge of white and red blood cells to ensure that more blood cells are available to transport excess oxygen throughout the circulatory system. • 5. The Optimization Problem Of Matlab Routines Relevant numerical techniques, which have been done with the help of MATLAB routines, are applied to solve the arising optimization problem and to find the optimum parameters of the TMD. For a given mass ratio, Вµ, one can assume different values of the frequency ratio, f, and for each frequency ratio assuming a range of dampingfactor О¶2 of the TMD and estimate the optimum parameters that minimize a certain desired output. Fig. 8 is an example of the numerical optimizationconducted to estimate the optimal frequency ratio and damping factor of the TMD for two different mass ratios under windloads modeled as white noise. The optimization is based on the minimization of the displacement of the primary structure. In this numerical optimization, the responses of the primary structure are normalized, which means that the response obtained with the TMD when attached to the structure is divided by the corresponding response obtained without the TMD. The optimal values of the frequency ratio and the damping factor of the TMD are written on the subfigures. It is shown that a TMD with 1% mass ratio can provide a significant reduction in the displacement response of the primary structure. The reduction in the displacement depends very much on the tuning frequency and the damping ratio of the TMD. By increasing the mass ratio from 1% to 5%, the displacement response of the primary structure is reduced. However, the TMD with 5% mass ratio is more robust to the changes in the frequency ... • 9. Remember The Titans Segregation Remember The Titans is a great football movie, and an even better civil rights movie. The movie shows how TC Williams handled desegregation and how the football team brought the community together. When the white players and black players came together for the first time, they did not get along. Coach Herman Boone took the team to a camp, and the players started to get along. When the players went back to school, they experienced the racism all over again. Eventually, the team helped the school and community get over the desegregation. The movie takes place in 1971, and TC Williams High School was one of the first high schools in the area to desegregate. The type of segregation that the school had was de facto, which means that blacks and whites could go to school together. However, there were still segregated schools because the kids in a neighborhood went to school together, and the neighborhoods were usually full of people of one race. Coach Boone made all of the players learn about each other and become comfortable with each other. The camp was also essential for conditioning and learning plays. Seeing how hard the players were pushed, you can tell that they would be in very good shape. There was a big difference of how the team was when they boarded the bus to go to the camp, and when they arrived home. I think that going to the camp was one of the biggest reasons for the teams success. In conclusion, Remember the Titans was a very powerful movie. It was very enjoyable to watch, and is personally one of my favorite movies. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around the world before it ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat. Through the trade of those fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution. Newborns are also at risk of mercury pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers, thousands of babies are at risk every year of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ). In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we need to implement a policy to clean up sites already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into the water and provide consumers on tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the amount of mercury is to focus on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since the mercury would have had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes further harm. Some of the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example of a site that is being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites of mills and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch. Nevada at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be in effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has already reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a layer of clean topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also worked in sampling 26 different developments for mercury affects and levels. The marginal benefit of money is the amount by which a small increase in a person s wealth increases that person s well being, and it is inversely proportional to a person s wealth (Broome 124). As a result of the growth of the economy, future people will possess more commodities and so there will be a diminishing marginal value of commodities. Broome gives evidence that the economy is likely to grow, so commodities should be discounted positively. If future people will be better off as mentioned earlier, present people can discount for well being because the value of an addition to well being in the future will be less than the value of an addition to present well being. Broome argues that this theory conflicts with utilitarianism, which gives a quantitative aggregation of well being. Utilitarianism can be a theory of human goodness; however, it does not distribute the well being among individuals. In contrast, Broome mentions Prioritarianism, which supports the increase of well being of the disadvantaged than to the privileged and promotes equitable distribution of well being. Prioritarianism and Utilitarianism are contrasting theories because Prioritarianism, an ethical claim, supports discounting the value of marginal changes in well being to the future generations, assuming they are better off than the present people while Utilitarianism does not ... One thing that will not change is brake system care, although the regenerative braking system on EVs usually means your brake pads will typically last twice as long than with a conventional gas powered model. The Bad 1. Your upfront cost. Electric vehicleprices have come down, but they are still higher than comparable gas powered models. A Nissan Leaf will cost you at least $30,000 new, while a well equipped Nissan Sentra costs about $20,000. Fortunately, taxpayers may find themselves eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit as well as state level credits, rebates and incentives. Ideally, you will want to recoup the cost of your investment, something government backed incentives make possible. In a best case scenario, the bad can actually be categorized as good. 2. Restricted range. Run low on gas and you can fuel your conventional vehicle within minutes. With an electric vehicle, you can only travel so many miles before you must connect to a power source. Not all employees need to be trained in all positions. We need to cross train a little at a time as there is no need to cross train all our employees at the same time. I suggest creating a formal job rotation program. We could reduce the workload during the training process since it will take the new person longer to perform the task until their individual proficiency is reached. This reduced workload will help employees feel less resentful that they are being required to do more work. Lastly, we must remember that employees don t retain the cross training skills forever and must be re trained periodically. The following questions need to be addressed: How will we communicate the strategy to employees; especially those employees who for various reasons may not be the best fit for cross training? What are the positions within the organization should be targeted for a cross training initiative? Which employees are ready to be cross trained and how will we determine who will be cross trained? Data presentation of research findings will depend on the research methodology used to collect data. Research data can be collected by using qualitative or quantitative techniques. Mc Mahon group used focus groups which are a qualitative method of collecting data. The analysis and presentation of data in qualitative research rely on the use of words to explain the research findings. Raw data collected from either primary or secondary sources need to be in a form that can facilitate analysis and interpretation. • 34. The Importance Of Natural Rights Of The Chimpanzee Introduction They are our closest evolutionary cousins. They wear our clothes and star in our TV shows. Yet, they are treated cruelly in the poaching industry and research facilities. They have been observed meeting most of the criteria for what we define as human , yet their habitats and wellbeing are being intruded everyday. The belief that all humans have ascribed natural rights that can not be infringed upon by a system of government is a fairly new concept, becoming predominant in the 20th century. However, religious scriptures have made mention of these concepts as early as 5 thousand years ago. It is apparent that though concrete natural rights for persons may be a recent idea in society, civilizations have been attempting to define the rights of personhood for millennia. I use the language persons , intentionally, to exhibit the contrast between this and human . Though the two words have become almost synonymous in modern day language, personhood is not exclusively defined by humanity by definition. We simply have not observed any species that we have unanimously considered worthy of this title. This brings in a moral dilemma, as people wonder what species, if any, should be ascribed personhood along with its rights, and to what extent. I propose that a potential candidate, that will kickstart conversation about the rights of all animals, is the Chimpanzee. A major justification for this is their genetic and behavioral similarity to that of a person. Exhibiting a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Spectroscopy Lab Centralized On The Properties Of Waves The spectroscopy lab centralized on the properties of waves and they relate to the emission spectrum, however one must understand the Bohr model of the atom first. The Bohr model for the atom depicts a planetary like structure, with a positively charged nucleus in the center with small, negatively charged electrons rotating around in specific, fixed orbits at different distances from the nucleus. When an electrontransitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back down to a lower orbital where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a result of the electron releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an electron in one state or another, however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed in between states. Transitions between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower energy transitions of a longer distance. A spectroscope is able to display the emitted light by presenting the bright interference patterns of the diverse wavelengths which make up the spectrum. By looking through the eyepiece, a spectrum will appear on either side of the slit the slit starts all of the light waves passing down the tube in phase so that they arrive at the slits in the diffraction grating at the same time. The progression of arthrosclerosis, starts with an injury to the endothelial lining of the arteries, from such diseases as, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and smoking. The damage to the endothelial cells causes dysfunction and the area with endothelial cell inflammation draws leukocytes, cholesterol, vascular smooth muscle cells and other debris, the buildup creates atherosclerotic plaque deposits in areas on an arterywall causing an inflammatory process (Hoffman, 2007). Over time the buildup of plaque on the artery walls produces hardening of the vessel walls and blockages that slow the flow of blood throughout the body. Arthrosclerosis affects the heart, peripheral arteries and the carotid and cerebral arteries that supply blood flow to the brain (Arthrosclerosis, 2014).
