2. Formation Mechanism And Death Of The Chimneys
The geosystem to be explored is specifically the formation mechanism and death of
the chimneys. Hydrothermal vents usually occurs along tectonically active regions
and are characterized by geothermally heated water exiting from the sea bed. Cold
water percolates through the sea bed and travels through the bedrock. This cold water
becomes heated geothermally and dissolves metals and sulfides from surrounding
rocks. The enriched hot water, superheated to on average 350вЃ°C, is buoyant and
escapes through an opening in the sea floor. The vent fluid exits the sea floor with a
flow rate up to several meters per second. As the hot enriched water comes into
contact with the cold sea water, a precipitationreaction occurs and the dissolved
metals and sulfides precipitate out along the vent opening. As more fluid is ejected
from the vent, the taller the chimney grows. Although many vents are depicted to
have a single vent pipe through the chimney, they are actually branched, as shown
in figure 1 (Tivey and Delaney 1986). Black smokers specifically are characterized
by the black soot filled plume, primarily consisting of pyrrhotite, sphalerite, pyrite,
and traces of cubanite, rapidly flowing upwards from the seabed. Hydrothermal
vents are ephemeral by nature, and flow will stop randomly and permanently, leading
to the death of the chimney. Figure 1: On the left is the often used simplification of a
single piped vent chimney from BBCNews, while the right is a more accurate

Chang Dental Case Analysis
When Miller considered Chang s Clinic to be an opportunity, he desired to research

keeps the dental business alive and growing and Despite Miller being the new guy
telling clients to say ah, he anticipated he would grow substantially (50% of 04 05)
within the first year. After reading this assumption it immediately told me he s
confident in obtaining the loyalty of Chang s clients. I m not a dentist, but I assumed
this loyalty was imperative to survival and makes this business profitable. After
reviewing the income statement and balance sheet provided, that was determined to be
a fair assumption. Chang acquired this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another trait that can t been seen in a balance sheet is that we despise of new
clinics due to uncertainty, location, paper work, etc , so the clients will obviously
give Miller a chance. The most valuable asset for this clinic is its goodwill,
stemming from the ability to build a favorable relationship with your client. It
includes in the text that Miller is known for being talkative and concerning of his
patients so this is pleasing and maybe letters of recommendation from his previous
employers (where he was an associate) will be considered by the loan officer.
General principles of valuating a business evolve into behemoth variables. Growth
is one of the first things that are reviewed and even though there isn t an industry
percentage to compare, the numbers are compelling when its goodwill is
questioned. Starting in2003, He netted $83,000 the first year and grew rather
quickly reaching an impressive net income of $264,000 in 2005. Even though
Chang had a helping hand in his first year, the growth the following year was 40%,
so clients were very pleased with Chang and loyalty was altered to the new dentist
rather quickly. Chang s success is relevant in deciphering Millers loan risk because
with his prediction of growth in 2006, he plans on thriving from Chang s success and
obtaining the loyal customers of Chang. If he s
4. Examples Of Negligence In Nursing
In the healthcare setting nurses, doctors and the entire multidisciplinary team are
without a doubt on the frontline when it comes to exposure. Whether in the hospital
or in the community there is always an element of liability. In this particular
discussion I will address nursing negligence, perfection and standard of care, the four
elements of negligenceand the importance of documentation with regards to nursing
negligence.
The Nursing profession is a broadly debatable topic. In Ireland in particular the
standard of nurses is generally good but nurses at the end of the day are only human
and naturally make mistakes. This can lead to the issue of nursing negligence.

It is important to know that perfection in nursing is neither expected nor possible.
However excellence in the standard of care for a patient is. Perfection cannot be
achieved. Nurses are not machines. At the end of the day nurses can only do what
they believe is best for the patient and if failure is an outcome then they cannot be
held accountable. The patient signs a consent form with the knowledge that
failure can always be expected regarding treatments. However it is the nurse s duty
to respond correctly to failures as a duty of care and carry out a high standard of
care hoping for the best possible outcome. Standard of care itself is more defined.
It is derived from organizational policies, procedures and those from regulatory
bodies. Policies and procedures are in place to define the minimum of staff
members. They are merely guidelines and staff members are encouraged to exceed
the guidelines set out. It is the staff s responsibility to follow these guidelines when
in practice. Other sources such as documented and mandatory in services days are
also set up to ensure significant knowledge of practice is in place, thus the standard
of care is

Mengele victims recall him as a sweet, almost father like figure. When visiting his
child subjects, he introduced himself as Uncle Mengele and offered them sweets.
Many of these children knew that Dr.Mengele would either be there savior or their

acting so sweet when he s has killed many people by shootings, beatings and deadly

sons. Many think his mother is to blame for his evil acts in the concentration camps.

7. Smoking Informative Essay
Smoking accounts for more than 440,000 deaths in the U.S. every year. There are
many dangers when you smoke. In fact, when burned, cigarettes create more than
7,000 chemicals, and around 70 of these are known to cause cancer. The majority
of smokers today started before they were 18, and still today, 4,000 kids try their
first cigarette. These kids start because of peer pressure or because their parents are
smokers. Second hand smoke is also a problem. It accounts for 50,000 deaths per year
and many other health effects. Preventing this may seem easy, but it is not so. Fifty
percent of high school students have attempted to quit and around 70% of adults say
they want to quit. What s keeping them from quitting? The addictive chemicals in the

risk, even if they don t smoke. It is especially dangerous to children, pregnant

8. Advantage Of Airsoft
Benefits of Airsoft The game of Airsoft is much like paintball. Both can be played
with any arrangement of players, teams, game types, and scenarios. Airsoft and
paintball have many similarities, but the key difference between the two are the kind
of ammunition. The player s honesty and integrity are greatly tested in Airsoft,
because it doesn t leave a colorful mess after the player is hit. Many Airsoft guns
are replicas made by real rifle manufacture companies, so Airsoft guns look like the
real deal compared to paintball. Also the plastic pellet ammunition for Airsoft is
much cheaper and less messy than paintball ammunition. Some people will freeze
paintball ammunition to cause their opponent pain, which in turn, can be dangerous.
Some Airsoft replicas have the same weight and function of a real firearm,
specifically gas blowback Airsoft pistols, so it can be used to help a person build a
skill at handling and using a firearm. Law enforcement and even the military uses
these guns for training programs, simulations for drills, and serious scenarios. It...

9. Cause And Effect Of The American Revolution
The Causes and Effects of the American Revolution
There were many causes that ignited the desire for independence and started the
American Revolution. The French and Indian War had a tremendous impact on the
Americans including the taxation of the American, by the British, to recoup
monetary losses from the war. Taxes such as the Stamp Act, the Townshend Acts, and
a Tea Tax caused rebellion among the Colonists. One of the most prolific stands
against the establishment would have the Colonists from Boston, Massachusetts
rebel against the Redcoats who fired into a crowd and murdered for Bostonians with
the Boston Tea Party; an event where the angry people of Boston, known as the Sons
of Liberty, dressed up as Indians to gain access to the British East India Company
ships: The Beaver, The Dartmouth, and The Eleanor. In protest of the Tea Tax, after
gaining access onboard, the party goers would proceed to dump all the ships tea
cargo into the Boston Harbor.
The results of the American Revolution were just as extraordinary as the what began
the conflict in the first place. The American Revolution had a demonstration effect on
other Atlantic societies; this led to writers and thinkers in France, Haiti, and Latin
America to use this as a model for their own political struggles (Acrobatiq.2014). The
American values of the newly birthed nation concentrated on middle class values, a
snub to the conservative views of old Europe, and promoted enterprise, technology,
and the nation over popular culture. Even though the colonists fought to create new
formed states, the same elites would seem to remain in charge. The bravery of the
rebellion fighting for independence during the American Revolution brought about
monumental documents that would not only change America, they would change the
world. The Declaration of Independence was a document created by the great
leaders of our nation to proclaim to the world why the nation was breaking away
from the British rule and was followed up by the Treaty of Paris which upon
ratification ended the American Revolution after the surrender of the British in 1783.
The Ideology of Liberalism
Liberalism embraced America as it had taken Europe by storm in the
10. Kierkegaard s Work On The Present Age
It doesn t take long when reading Kierkegaard s work on The Present Age to know
how he felt about the progression and direction of the society of his time. He claimed
that through the processes which he coins leveling, the public, reflection, and chatter,
humanity was in a spiraling down fall in which society was being destroyed by the
aspects of culture and what Hegel called the human Spirit in his book Phenomenology
of Spirit. Kierkegaard claimed that these phenomena mentioned were ruining
humanity as I m sure it appeared to him. When observing our own modern times, we
see these phenomena continuing in our presentage as well and can even be projected
towards the years to come. The difference between what Kierkegaard perceived
and what I perceive living a century and a half later is that from where we stand
today, these leveling processes of the public are pushing us towards a unified global
society. These processes are making humanity stronger even though they appear to be
negative to our future. To better illustrate and understand the perspective of our
present age as to that of Kierkegaard s, we must first examine what Kierkegaard
meant by these four phenomena which he claimed plagued his society in 1840 s
Copenhagen. We will start by analyzing his concept of reflection. This reflection isn t
one of idleness which Kierkegaard shows praise towards but to that of overthinking.
Through reflection, man overanalyzes situations before him to the point of driving the
11. The Ethical Philosophy Of The United States
Organizations have disparate marketing strategies when selecting choices that affect
stakeholders. Each approach touches the consumer and the Earth; it defines if the
business is socially accountable for humanity. When the ethical philosophy a
company follows is for universal individual rights regardless of the outcome, it is
moral idealism. In contrast, when only considering the greater good for the greatest
number and appraising cost and the benefit of the choice it is utilitarianism. If the
benefits exceed the costs, then the behavior is ethical, if not, then the behavior is
considered unethical. This philosophy underlies the economic tenets of capitalism
and is embraced by many business executives (Kerin, Hartley, Rudelius, 2015,...

A company incorporating structures to guide executives that considers all the
variables began with Robert Wood Johnson of Johnson Johnson. In 1934, he wrote a
credo which became a structure for other organizations to consider. The statement
described that their responsibility was to all users of their products, and that the
stockholders should realize a fair return without doing harm to a consumer (Johnson
Johnson, 1943). These principles established ethical guidelines for Johnson Johnson
and a model for other industries. В¬The United States Civil Rights Act of 1964, the
U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and the Foreign Corrupt Practices
Act of 1977 helped companies to become socially responsible (De George, 2015).
Ethics and social responsibilities are evident with British Petroleum s handling of
the Deepwater Horizon spill in 2010, and Toyota Motor Corporation s attempt to
create an eco friendly vehicle. Utilitarianism was exhibited by BP and moral
idealism was Toyota s motive to produce environmentally green vehicles. British
Petroleum redesigned their name to make it more environmentally friendly, it was
changed to Beyond Petroleum, which professed their focus on renewable energy not
just hydrocarbons, and promoted a pro social marketing plan (Balmer et al., 2011).
In 2008, they defined their sustainable conduct: we aim for no accidents, no harm to
people and no damage to the
12. Essay about Drilling for Oil in The Gulf of Mexico
America has been dependant on oil since the 1800 s and the invention of modern
machinery. From skin care products to the gasoline in our cars and engines,
petroleum is the basis of almost everything we use for everyday life. Without oil
the nation could not meet the energy demands we need to survive. Continued
exploration has been the topic of heated debate among supporters and opponents,
especially when it comes to offshore drilling. My goal here is to show the differing
view points of drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and present a better
understanding from a national perspective. Drilling for our own offshore oil reserves
can save the United States billions of dollars.

clearly that these hearings will lead to action by this committee, Hastings said. As
chairman, I intend to introduce legislation to put the Gulf of Mexico back to work.
There are five compelling reasons why the United States should drill our own oil,
as found by a 2008 study group: jobs, revenue, economic growth, public demand,
and energy independence. Allowing drilling off the coasts of the U.S. would also
create over 100,000 new jobs. Over $1 trillion in royalties for federal and state
governments could be collected. By using our own reserves we will spend far less
on imported oil and move closer to our energy independence. According to a study
done by the American Petroleum Institute, if offshore areas were opened to new
exploration and drilling, the national production is estimated to increase by 36% in
20 years. Federal royalties are estimated to be approximately $4 trillion over the
project life cycle; A hefty weight off future tax payers if applied to the federal deficit.

[War] brings out the worst in people. Never the good, always the bad. Even in the
midst the devastation of a national genocide, where one race turned against another
in hate, good people existed and worked to counteract the hate through love and
compassion. Oskar Schindler was one of these people. World War II provided him
the means to become a very wealthy and powerful man, yet he did not exploit the
Jews like many other businessmen during his time. He used his money and power to

Stern as the war progressed and he began to regard Stern as an equal, sharing
personal thoughts and decisions with him. After the war, Schindler relied on Stern
and the other Schindlerjuden for support as he was never able to live a secure life
because of the effect the war had on him.
The Jews that Schindler protected lived a much different life than Schindler
himself. Life for them was turned upside down as there were no set rules to live
by. The Schindlerjuden lived every day in fear of never having another, never
feeling totally sure of what the future had in store for them. They weren t sure if
they would be able to walk across the Plaszow concentration camp without being
shot by Amon Goeth, they weren t sure if they would be sent off to an extermination
camp, they weren t sure if they would ever be able to live the life they had. This
uncertainty can be seen in Schindler s List. One moment the women Schindlerjuden
were about to have a better life in Schindler s new factory in Czechoslovakia, the next
they were accidentally routed to Auschwitz, and the next they were safely returned to

the girl to make a decision on whether or not to get an abortion. The first example is
seen when the man starts talking to the girl after they have had

Introduction to Microchip Implant Microchip implant is an exceptionally well
thought authentication method that has the possibility of making a huge impact
in securing information. The concept of microchip implant was introduced in 1945
by Leon Theremin, who was the originator of one of the first covert devices which
is also known as bugs . This device is followed by Radio frequency identification
(RFID) technology which is a small electronic device that contains a chip. This
chips allows the ability to store data typically ranging up to 2,000 bytes or less.
RFID is comparable to magnetic strips or bar codes because they all act as a
unique identifier for a specific purpose. In order to obtain information from an
RFID, you must scan the device just as how a magnetic strip or bar code would
require scanning. RFID can also be described as the wireless non contact use of radio
frequency electromagnetic fields that helps in transferring data with the goal of being
able to automatically recognize and monitor tags that are being attached to objects.
RFID technology is currently being used by many different industries varying from
identifications badges that enclose RFID tags that assist with eliminating the chances
of shoplifting, to vehicles using the technology to help monitor the production
process and track the vehicles across the assembly line. Other scenarios that may use
the microchip implant includes animals having RFID tags placed in them for
identification purposes as

Sometimes they re also given illegal drugs or other stuff that isn t good for them,

only does the veterinarians and trainers drug the overworked animals, they hide it.
They hide the horrible, abusive deed that they ve committed. It is not ok to drug

Drug research is connected to a range of academic studies such as biology,

. Drug discovery is the process by which a new drug candidate is found and

chemical manufacture and control (CMC), such as synthesis, formulation, delivery

to assess all of the physicochemical and pharmacokinetics parameters prior to clinical

researchers carry out pharmacokinetics (PK) testing which involves absorption,
distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME), and toxicology to estimate the safety

rigorous pre clinical trials, scientists have
19. Relationship Between Animals And Animals
Many people have close bonds with animals. Some will even say that they like
animals better than people, even though they are more closely genetically related
than animals. When older people have their children go to college or move out, they
sometimes will get an animal for company. The relationship between animals and
humans go back to the beginning of humans. In prehistoric times, we used animals
for food. We would hunt them down, kill them, and eat them in order to stay alive.
In the earlier times, primates split into two groups, what is now humans, and then
what we know as monkeys. These early humans made tools to hunt animals to get
food. During the stone age, they started to use stone tipped spears to hunt bigger
animals. In 2001, the French then found thousands of horse bones over a cliff in
France. (name of whoever found them) think that prehistoric hunters would chase
faster horses over cliffs, making it easier to catch them. After the prehistoric
hunting, the Ice Age started and they tried to hunt smaller animals again, but not
having any success, they gathered foods instead. Now, we still use animals for
food, but we also keep animals as pets. We now raise animals at farms. We still kill
the animals, but we mature them first. Though we still hunt and farm some animals
for food, there are many people that will hunt them for sport. These pets we have are
now our companions in life, we don t kill them, we don t feed them to other animals,
and we

It is a clear case of unscrupulous contention, utilizing euphemisms and false portrayals
to demonstrate a suggestion that an advocate is one sided from the beginning.
The ground of the ethics is unclear and pompous. Why is influence better than force?
Is this because the author made the sun appear victorious, therefore, can we strongly
claim that his text works? If the North Wind was effective in brushing off the man s
jacket, would that at that point imply that influence and force were similarly great ?
The tale with such a moral standing isn t doing a decent job in bringing out an
ethical judgment; it is rather enlisting a vote in favor of consequentialism: On the off

What the challenge truly demonstrates is that the North Wind is a numb skull, and

21. How To Abide By Slave Codes
Slaves were considered the bottom of the cast system. This allowed poor white
farmers to be above somebody simply for being white.
While some slaves were treated better than others, depending on the slave owner or
their job, they were still regarded as property, not people. Killing a slave wasn t even
considered murder.
Slaves had to abide by slave codes. These codes didn t allow them even the simplest
of rights.
They couldn t fight back against a white person (by court or by fist), leave the
plantation without permission, buy or sell goods, own firearms or own anti slavery
propaganda.
These laws got stricter when rumors spread of a revolt. Groups of white people, hired
as patrols, would perform raids and commit terrible crimes against
22. Psychology And Sociology And Psychology
When we think of society or people, and their behavior, psychology and sociology
come to our mind. This is because they are academic fields that posses the same main
idea, which is the study of the behavior . Although these two sciences have enormous
differences, for those whom never had read anything about this topics it would seem
the same.
Despite bearing some superficial similarities, the differences between sociology and
psychology are pronounced. Actually the main contrast between them is from who
are they studying the behavior, but to be more specific the differences that are going
to be exposed in this paper are:
1)The focus point of study of each science.
2)Psychology and Sociology specialties or subfields.
3)The different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, one of the main differences between psychology and sociology is
the focus point of study. This is because if we go deeper in what these two sciences
consist we find that psychology tends to study one person at a time, to understand
better the society trends in different areas like mental illness, emotions, stress and
human behavior. As a matter of fact to accomplish that, psychologists have to make
researches of memory, creativity, anger, grief, intelligence and more others. This is
why psychologist focus their attention on people as one, so as a result the individual
become the unit of psychology.
However, sociology assumes that the behavior of the people is influenced by their
surroundings or maybe to appertain to the group they belong to, is very similar to
peer pressure. So basically sociologist deal with the interaction of people, and they
look further that just the individuals and observe societies through their particular
lenses or associations. In fact the people that study this social science discovered
that the majority of society behavior is dictated by social relations, for example
religion, race, social class and even gender. This is due to the fact that to find a
significant, unique and valid perspective of culture and society, sociologist need to
study each one of these filters. For these reason sociology focus their attention on
society as a whole, making society the unit of

Fraternities and sororities are social groups formed in colleges and universities.
These fraternities and sororities are called the Greek Life. These clubs use two or
more greek letters for their names. Fraternities are for males and sororities are for
females. Greek life is very popular in this day and age at universities and colleges.
Greek life is very beneficial during and after college. But universities are beginning
to ban these clubs. Greek life shouldn t be banned because it allows for leadership
skills, builds chance for success, networking opportunity, and life long friends.
Greek life develop leadership and social skills. The greek life puts members in
leadership positions that can build self esteem, confidence, and make them more
charismatic. Fraternities and sororities influence strong characteristics upon its
members that will one day be useful in the real world and in a work environment.
Greek houses are run by student councils, which offer members many opportunities
to develop leadership skills. These councils usually consist of a president, a house
manager or treasurer, and leadership roles in public outreach, philanthropy, social
event planning, and member discipline. (www.thespruce.com/greek life benefits and

It was a humid, and hot July day. It was an exciting day because my parents, my
brother, and I was going to go to Bermuda very soon. My brother kept yelling at me
telling me to hurry up. Really, I was just too excited, there was not much time left
and the great marine adventure awaited. From when summer started, to July, I was
at summer camp. This trip would be the first time this summer that I actually got to
travel with my family. The summer had been pretty boring so far and it was my
last year at this summer camp because I was going to be in 6th grade soon. My
brother, Robert, spent more time there than me because he was going to be in 4th
grade in September. I would miss my summer camp, but at the same time, I wouldn t

because it was glass. As I looked down I noticed that when we were in shallow
parts we could see marine animals, but when we were at deeper parts of the water
we could only see water. We drove right on top of the Bermuda triangle. How can
we now go on the Bermuda Triangle? I thought. The Bermuda triangle was said to

many myths about the Bermuda Triangle but, no one is sure if any are true. The

it was a big space there were rocks on one side that was the island. Which meant we

Use of Competitive Radioligand Binding to examine Endothelin Receptor
Populations on Ventricular Cardiomyocyte Membranes of Spontaneous Hypertensive
Rats. Abstract
This investigation concerned the relationship between endothelin receptor
populations on the ventricular cardiomyocyte membrane of spontaneous
hypertensive rats at 16 weeks old. The use of radioligand competitive binding assay
method, involving the displacement of [125I]ET 1 by 3 competitive, cold ligands,
ET 1, ET 3 and BQ123, allowed for the generation of competition binding curves, that
adopted either a one site or two site model and allowed the determination of relative
IC50s and identification of receptor proportions. ET 3 produced a two site model
suggesting the existence of ET A and ET B receptors on cardiomyocyte membranes
in SHRs and calculated that around 29% of receptors were ET B, whereas ET 1 and
BQ123 both produced one site models.
Introduction
Endothelin peptide family is a group of 3 isoforms of a peptide, comprising of 21
amino acids, all of which are formed from the same larger precursor, pro endothelin
1 by endothelin converting enzyme. (Inoue A et al,1989) Each isoform is
distinguished from the others by a differing gene, with endothelin 2 and 3 differing
from endothelin 1 by 2 and 6 amino acids, respectively. (Inoue A et al,1989)
Endothelin is known mostly as a potent vasopressor, but is also known to have a
positive inotropic effect on the heart, act as a proliferator of vascular smooth

29. A White Heron By Sarah Orne Jewett
Young love, it is a thrilling time in where the blinded youth cross a field unknown. A
field where one must undergo a numerous amount of challenges and temptations. In
the short story A White Heron the author, Sarah Orne Jewett, tells a story about a
blossoming girl who encounters a young man, a typical boy meets girlscenario, so it
would seem. The desire to be loved can drive a person to do the craziest of things,
especially at a young age. Growing up one can learn to express emotion through
every gesture and every facial expression, through that process a person can come
to realize their own self hatred with rejection while living in a world in which
people strive to be accepted and crave to be desired. In society each gender must face
different experiences through life. As a man one expects a provider, a leader, a
hunter and as a womanone is expected to be a caretaker, a follower, as we are simply
a man s prey and conquest. In A White Heron , Sarah Orne Jewettaddress a social
issue of gender inequality by presenting a story about a man s urge to control a
girl. Colors can symbolize many things, whether it s love, hatred, darkness or light.
The author expresses a man s pursuit of what is pure through the use of color. The
man here is on a quest to find a bird, a heron, but not a black heron nor a gray
heron. Instead the hunter is specifically on a search for a white heron. The author
explicitly focuses on a white heron as it is even the title of this short

In The American, Newman is obviously an american and an outsider in this new
culture and environment that he divulges himself in. Like most americans,
Newman is obsessed with this idea of the French culture where we believe that
they have the best food, fashion, artwork, and style. Newman is clearly obsessed
with this idea about the French and therefore moves to Paris in order to get the
culture that he so desperately needs. However, Newman does not instantly fit into
the French culture like he predicts because he fails to learn about the certain
customs and traditions that are ideal in the French society, especially to people
like the Bellegardes he is painstakingly an American. Newman may be able to talk
french and act like a frenchman, but Newman fails to realize that in this restrictive
society he will always be considered an outsider or a foreigner. In addition, he will

Introduction
Diseases affect every individual. They could have a disease themselves, may
know someone or of someone that has one, or the country where they live could
have have faced a disease epidemic. Epidemics, which we have studied in our
course, analyze how diseases spread and how outbreaks affect countless
individuals in countless different countries. This topic relates directly to course
material as it encompasses many of the situations and ideas that have been
discussed such as, poverty, dying, environment, and social factors and how they
relate and coincide with disease. The country you reside in ultimately dictates the
technological advances that you have access to when dealing with stopping the
spread of diseases. Epidemics also can be considered by looking at poverty
because non industrialized countries have a harder time when it comes to dealing
with the spread of disease as they do not possess the tools that are used to prevent
spreading. We have studied how the overall development of the country where you
live can play a very important role in the assistance you receive as well as the level
of care. Thus, the next five articles consider how diseases are handled and dealt with
depending on the location of the country and whether or not it is an industrialized or

33. The Visual Adisement Of An Advert Analysis Of Tux Soap
The visual text about the Tux Soap is an advertisement created to convince women
that using Tux Soap for their body will improve their complexion and make them
appear more visually appealing. It is targeted at women, aged between thirteen to fifty
because society seems to demand that it is essential for women to look extraordinarily
beautiful and have flawless skin. The advertisement appeals to the targeted audience
as the beautiful womanon the advertisement with flawless skin entices young and
older women to want to try Tux soap.
Visual techniques evident in advertisement include the title, which conveys the
message that Most men ask Is she pretty? Not Is she clever? . The title misleads
women by persuading them that men only look at aspects of beauty but not
intelligence or kindness. However, it is extremely effective as women will be
attracted to the advertisement in how they can allow their beauty to be seen and
would want to read more into it. Furthermore, the dull background colours such as
the light blue and grey shades make the woman s flawless skin and her fair
complexion appear more prominent and appealing to the eye, satisfying the audience.
Moreover, the advertisement includes a larger size for the words, Most men ask Is
she pretty? and a smaller size is utilised for not Is she clever? this differentiation
convinces the audience that being prettier is more important than being clever. It
makes us sense that beauty is more powerful than intelligence.

As many people may know, Zeus had many love affairs over the years. One of
which resulted in a daughter named Athena. Athena is one of the twelve major
Greek gods. She is the goddess of of wisdom and war as well as the patron of
Athens. There are two well know stories about the birth of Athena, also called Athene,
Pallas, and Minerva which is her Roman name. In the first story, Zeus is the only
parent of Athena. It is said that Zeus had an intense headache, and Athena sprang
forth fully grown and wearing full armor. In the second, Athena is the daughter of
Zeus god of the skies and Metis goddess of crafty thought and wisdom who was his
first wife. After Metis gave birth to Athena, the story says Zeus swallowed her in
fear of a prophecy which stated that Metis would have a son stronger than Zeus, and
that he would become the new ruler. Athena; however, was also a very fierce, strong,
and strategic warrior along with Zeus s favorite child. Wether born with two parents
or Metis alone, Athena remains a strong goddess who is an expert in strategic

Imperial Procession is celebratory. The first two are both smaller than four feet, but
the Procession is life sized, so its visual force is thus magnified. Finally, the
individuals therein are not idealized types, in contrast to earlier Greek modes of
statuary they naturalistic depictions of many actual people in the line of the
Caesars. The Ara Pacis took four years to build, due to its desired scale and quality,
and that scale points to a salient evolution from the Greeks to the Romans. Riegl
claimed this vector went from what he call[ed] the haptic objectivism of the Greeks
the delineation of the clarity of the object through an appeal to and a stimulation of
the tactile associations of the viewer to the optical objectivism of Roman art, in which

42. Developing A Digital And Sharing Economy, Platform...
INTRODUCTION Technological advancements spurred the creation of a digital and
sharing economy. It is easier than ever for two people from different locations to
connect and do business with one another. With the evolvement of the sharing
economy, a smartphone application by the name of Uber has been born and is a
potential monopoly in the making. This essay aims to answer the following question:
What growth strategies have Uber used in the market and what impact do these
strategies have on the market? To answer this question the author will examine Uber
role in the sharing economy, platform development strategies and pricing schemes
used by Uber, and Uber s impact on the car ownership industry. Many of these themes
such as pricing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Uber is a thus a multi sided platform, or in other words acts a digital location where

The firm which has the highest number of install base will increase its value and at
the same time decrease its competitor s company value. THEORY OF NETWORK
EXTERNALITIES AND PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES The
theory of network externalities exists when the benefit a user has from consuming
a product increases as the number of users of that product increases; The value of
the company increases as the number of users of the product increases. Uber is
faced with these direct network effects. Drivers want to be with the application
that has the most customers so that they can minimize waiting time, and customers
want to be with the application with the most drivers so they can also minimize
waiting time for a car. Thus, as the number of customers and drivers get big
enough, it will be almost impossible for any firm to come in the market and
compete with Uber. Uber will become a monopoly and can dominate the market. In
order to become a monopoly, the install base must be large enough. Uber is the
loss leader and has set their car prices very low, below the rates of most taxis
around the world. The reason for this is that the lower the price, the lower the tipping
point or in other words Uber
