Child-Rearing Child Development
Throughout the forces of nature versus nurture, biological or hereditary information and day to day
interactions that children encounter in their environment play a significant role in childhood
development. The feeding and communication milestones are associated with childhood development
and are important to the overall expansion of the individual. Each milestone is outlined and portrays
what an individual should have accomplished within the period. Throughout a home or teaching
practices used in elementary or secondary education, common practices in child rearing are enforced.
There are several positive and negative effects of each child rearing practice that could be changed to
promote better individual development and growth.
The forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using the principles of development learned in this course the authoritarian parent and the uninvolved
parent could both make significant changes in order to promote better individual development and
growth. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their
externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The
authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child
having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their
children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of
breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources
of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for
independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. (Luyckx, K. 2011) Often time s
children from these authoritarian families can be less resourceful and have a lower self esteem.
Authoritarian parents create a solid behavior process for their children but often create the idea that a
child must lie to do what he or she wants to do. A parent in this aspect can be so focused on their child
always following the rules that once a child makes a

This short term action yields long term benefits.
Some of the problems which may be addressed in the PR statement can be seen in my twenty four
hour plan and here as well: Herewith appear to be the most pressing matters; one, infective and
inexperienced entrepreneurial leadership. Two, the dialectic nature between front of house and back of
house, and three, a lack of general training motivation and direction in original concept.
Now I shall divulge onto you my complete analysis of the information that you have provided to me.
Examining the bottom line factor (Weber Savitz 2006) the fact that Abbey lost its spot from being the
second highest revenue earning outlet in 2009 to the 4th in 2011 is alarming in itself. A rough two
hundred thousand dollar loss in takings, in two years, should have sounded the alarm bells for the
Managing Directors and more importantly Marcus Vesty.
This ties in significantly with the fact that the concept from opening of the Abbey in 2009 has since
wallowed. The entrepreneurial and perhaps managerial aspects of the Abbey have waned resulting in
poor standards of service (Parsa et al. 2005). This is reflective almost in

A Study With Immense Determination And Motivation For...
I began this mini study with immense determination and motivation in hearing personal experiences
from female superintendents regarding the barriers and challenges they faced along their journeys.
Selfishly, I sought to better understand what I may face later down the road, as I personally aspire to
be a superintendent one day. Additionally, I have always had a strong interest in challenges that
marginalized groups often face. Therefore, it seemed like this topic would be natural fit. During my
very first interview, I was quite nervous. Although I had mulled over my questions repeatedly and had
practiced my questions with my husband, classmates, and in the mirror, I wanted to sound like a
competent researcher who was authentically invested in this process. I did not want to misrepresent
myself or the university. I giggled as I listened to the recording of the first interview. I kept saying
good! and okay... for a conversation filler, occasionally even when the participant was still talking!
During this interview, I quickly realized that my questions were out of order. While I intended to open
with easier, less personal questions, I found that stalled deep conversations regarding gender barriers
in the profession. Therefore, I abandoned my specific conversation order with the two other
participants and let the conversation flow more freely. I believe I was stifling the responses and myself
by being too rigid. While that rigidity potentially came out of fear

2. Rothbard and Wilk s (2010) Study Although there are very few studies which examine the effect of
mood on job performance, Rothbard and Wilk s (2010) research is of great value.[2] They studied the
moods and performance of 29 customer service representatives in a large insurance company over a
three week period. They wanted to find out how the mood that customer service representatives bring
to the workplace at the start of the day influence task engagement and performance throughout the day
and how the changes in moods during the interactions with the customers affect the rest of the
workday. In this study, both positive and negative mood from non work sources have been shown to
influence work mood and behaviors. They brought forth three sets of hypotheses: Hypothesis 1a:
Higher start of day positive mood will be associated with higher positive work mood later in the day,
controlling for trait affect. Hypothesis 1b: Higher start of day negative mood will be associated with
higher negative work mood later in the day, controlling for trait affect. Hypothesis 2a: Higher

Crisis Of Faith In King Lear Essay
The beliefs of people are often influenced by the environment they live in. Sometimes, an individual is
forced to act out of necessity and not on principles. In the play, King Lear, Shakespeare gives a clear
illustration on how the hidden human intentions are bound to be exposed at the right time. The ever
changing world has seen the beliefs and nature of man change alongside it. In the long run, a person
may not be sure of what to believe in anymore. The essay will look at how King Lear and Edmund
suffer from crisis of faith as well as demonstrate how time and experience changes the beliefs of man,
and how even the most trusted people can lead to one s downfall. The phrase crisis of faith can be
defined as a situation in which one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

France successfully asks for her hand in marriage.
Immediately the youngest daughter is sent away, the two remaining daughters begin to plot for the
downfall of their father. They are actually scheming to kill him. Goneril says Not to be overruled. Idle
old man (1.3.17). The king s help comes from a person he had also sent away but decided to disguise
himself and just stay around. He was called Kent. Kent, after receiving warning from Gloucester,
decided to take the king away to Dover. At this point, he revealed his true identity and King Lear must
have regretted his earlier action on him. The climax of Lear s crisis of faith is revealed when Cordelia,
the daughter he had earlier rejected organizes French troops to come and rescue him from the other

Current Account Deficit, he explained that economic crisis has its background way back a decade ago,
as the developing countries had modest trade and account deficit of which was financed by borrowing
from the rest of the world in order to invest more than save, bringing about financial crisis i.e. they
will be rich in future by constructing infrastructures but face recession in present.
Housing prices was another contributing cause to the recession. In the decade going towards 2006,
housing prices spiraled up by more than 25% due to high demand, decline in lending standards, and
low interest rates in the 2000s. Between 2000 and 2006 large number of borrowers took out mortgages
as they were lured by the prevailing favorable rates. This had the effect of fetching all and sundry
including those individuals with bad credit records. The Federal Reserve began to raise fed funds thus
interest rates cropped from 1.25% to 5.25% a reasonable level to fight the inflation level as well as
overall loans between banks. Expensive repayment on loan had the effect of softening housing
markets since borrowing was costly.
According to Bernanke, by August 2007, nearly 16% of mortgages were in default, (qtd. In Jones 6)
this explains the advancement in the problem due to low housing prices that led to defaults and further
lowered housing prices even further in a vicious cycle. In addition,

Essay about Pill Bug Lab
ABSTRACT Pill bugs live in an outside environment where they are able to get the necessary amount
of energy from organic matter. This environment is where water and organic matter is plentiful. In
there natural habitat, pill bugs are found in dark, damp places. Living in moist places is important for
pill bugs so they can take in enough water, and if water is not available, they group together to prevent
water loss. Pill bugs most often live in dark places because they have a negative photo taxis. Darker
places also tend to be cooler and damper. Each experiment connected to how the pill bugs would

Kinesis occurs when the animal moves in a random motion in response to the stimulus. Throughout
this lab, we put the pillbugs through four different tests. These experiments are to test to see if these
animals will prefer a certain habitat rather than another and how they show this is through either
kinesis movement or taxis movement. MATERIALS AND METHODS In all labs, a lab book and a
pen or pencil are essential to record the number of pillbugs. The times come up fast so you have to
make sure you are watching the clock or stop watch. Obviously, do not poke the pillbugs or try and
force them into a certain chamber aggressively, this will aggravate them and cause unreliable results.
When you are trying to get your pillbugs, use a paintbrush to sweep them onto your brush and then
carefully place them into the choice chamber dish that is provided for you. Make sure to get 10
pillbugs so you can have five in each chamber. If they look dead, they are most likely just curled up.
During the various tests, make sure to take notes on the appearance, the types of movements (kinesis
or taxis) and the interactions between the animals. The first experiment is to find out if the pillbugs
prefer dark or light environments. The choice chambers have a little passageway between the
chambers. Make sure to gently place five pillbugs on each side and then block off that doorway with a
cardboard barrier of some sorts. Pick one of the chambers and then cover that chamber with

The Causes And Complications Of Devil Facial Tumour Diseases
Devil facial tumour disease, also known as DFTD, is a clonally transmissible cancer exclusively found
in the Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii)(C.E Hawkins et al., 2006). It is transmitted as an
allograft (Pearse Swift, 2006), making it an extremely abnormal disease, as it is one of very few
known transmissible cancers. The other known transmissible cancers are Canine Transmissible
Venereal Tumor (CTVT) in Dogs (Murgia et al., 2006), Contagious Reticulum Cell Sarcoma in Syrian
Hamsters (Cooper et al.,1964) and a form of transmissible Leukaemia in Soft Shelled Clams (Metzger
et al. 2015). Out of the other three known transmissible cancers, only CTVT is spread as an allograft,
like DFTD.

anscriptome and microRNA sequencing showed that almost half the genes involved in DFTD were
involved in myelination pathways, a component of Schwann Cells (Murchison et al., 2009).
The disease is highly infectious, and has spread at a rapid speed through the population, with it
spreading from the first sole report in the very north eastern corner of Tasmania in 1996, to occurring
across 59% of the Tasmanian Mainland just over 10 years later in 2007 (Figure 1). Recent findings
have also shown that a new Facial Tumour Disease, called DFT2, has arisen recently. It is
indistinguishable from DFTD apart from on a histological level and has only been discovered in 5
individuals so far (Pye et al. 2015). This disease is so far limited to the south eastern Channel
Peninsula, but suggests that this species is particularly vulnerable to clonally transmissible cancers of
this nature.
What does the disease look like, how does it affect them?
The disease has affected population numbers as such.
The disease was discovered to be spread as an allograft (a tissue graft between non identical members
of the same species) between the Devils after genetic sequencing revealed that tumours from different
individuals contained identical anomalies in the chromosomal arrangement, too complex to have

Essay on Greek Mythology and Hercules
Capturing the Herculean Hero Ancient Greek and Roman mythology are polytheistic religions that
emerged in Western Europe thousands of years ago. Both cultures believe in mostly the same gods and
demigods, also known as half gods, but have different names to designate them. Perhaps the most
famous demigod known most notably for his superhuman strength is Hercules, the Roman name for
the Greek demigod Heracles. The superman like figure is even more popular in mythology than
certain gods and goddesses. Over time, artists and sculptors have attempted to depict Hercules through
different types of material and physical poses. Although each depiction has its own individuality in the
material by which it was created and the stance the demigod ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He also draws the viewer s eye to Hercules in particular by using chiaroscuro (Sporre 60) and
contrasting light and shade. The artist highlights the hero with light colors for a skin tone and
engulfing him with dark and gloomy colors. One of the most intriguing features of this piece of work
is the muscle definition in Hercules s body and Zurbaran s ability to capture the demigod in motion.
Hercules is shown as an extremely toned tall, young man with a dark beard and thick hair. By the
creases in his leg muscles, Hercules is sent in motion and it is evident that the hero is using all his
might to pull the beast towards him in order to control him. Thousands of years ago, before artists
work fell into the category and style of art that existed during their time period, art was portrayed
mostly through carved slabs or marble or stone. Art has existed since years before the Common Era
and date all the way back to prehistory. It has helped historians and scientists understand the lifestyles
in which past civilizations had followed. In Ancient Rome and Greece, for example, many artists
sculpted religious figures in accordance to their polytheistic, mythological beliefs. Almost every artist,
if not all, of these sculptures remains unknown to this day but their work lives on to inspire others.

things? This has long been a topic of discussion among lawmakers, psychologists, and the scientific

Media use, and subsequent exposure to violent content is extremely prevalent among 8 to 18 year old

these games (Hall, Day, and Hall). Stating that these may offer safe outlets for negative emotions and
thusly allowing players to be more emotionally balanced. (Hall, Day, and Hall) Data regarding the

The movie has so many scenes (it s two hours and forty five minutes long) it s hard to pick a favorite.
If I had to it would be the ending scene though, where the Draft Riots are in full force and finally
Amsterdam and Jenny visit the graves of Bill Cutting and Amsterdam s father, followed by a time laps
scene of the graveyard and the New York City skyline. The ending scene is important because it puts
the whole movie into perspective. You get so caught up in the fighting, and crime that you forget the
big picture. With the Union Army s actions it shows how weak and ridiculous the gangs in New York
were. Simply, gangs were (and to some extent still are) nothing but a certain demographic joining in
large numbers only to force their ideas on the majority. The scene also touches on the fact that
presently no one remembers or cares about the gangs or the riots, furthering the idea of the
pointlessness of it.
Historically speaking, the movie relates the United States history poorly. It has many accuracies
historically, but the problems far outweigh them.

every moment in life was a decisive moment, says Henry Cartier Bresson (1). Prufrock is a man with
great inhibitions who only dares to dream of professing his affection to a woman. Throughout the
poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by Thomas Elliot, the narrator has expressed certainty
about his beloved s interest in him, and he is more than inclined on accepting it. However, due to
Prufrock s low self esteem and apathy, he regretfully allows the opportunity to pass him by. Prufrock
ponders about what could have been: Would it have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is the type of person who appears nonchalant to others, but he is in fact too frightened to make any
radical decisions. Profrock s inferiority complex is apparently shown throughout the narration of the
poem, as he repeatedly addressing his frail arms and legs and balding hair. As a matter of fact, he
contemplates on following through the most trivial things such as parting his hair back or eating a
peach in front of people. Winston Churchill once says: To improve is to change; to perfect is to change
often (1). Perfection is a dynamic concept that demands its beholder to change accordingly. On the
contrary, Prufrock makes no attempt to overcome his insecurities, while he, instead, blames himself
for his cowardice. Furthermore, he finds consolation in women s ridicules and hostility due to the fact
that they pay him some degree of attention. At this point, the narrator s social anxiety and sexual
frustration is readily apparent to everyone. Therefore, it is completely reasonable how he cannot
summon the proper ambition to ask his overwhelming question. Adding insult to injuries, he further
deludes himself into thinking that he should carry on with his life leisurely, while his thinning hair
suggests that he

The Noble Qur an
The Qur an, also known as Kitah Allah (the book of God) is the religious text of Muslim Scripture. It
is the revelation of God that the Prophet Muhammad received by the archangel Gabriel and written in
Arabic language. It provides Muslims with guidelines and detailed teachings for a just society, proper
human behaviors, and an egalitarian economic system. One can only truly understand the teachings of
the Qur an by exploring the life of the prophet Muhammad and grasping the important message and
tone that is held within the book.
Muhammad Abdullah, was the founder of the religion of Islam, and is considered by Muslims to be
the last Islamic prophet of God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His dedication to spread the message of God was phenomenal and he did not give up despite his harsh
treatment. Muhammad received some good news from the city of Yathrib. The city was in need of a
leader and pledged to obey and worship Allah alone and defend him to the death. Muhammad and his
loyal followers fled to Yathrib and left the city of Mecca. Yathrib was later renamed Medinat al Nabi,
the City of the Prophet, and is now known as Medina, the City. Muhammad died in 632, having
conquered all of Arabia for Islam.
He was loved and highly respected by man Muslims. His battle for peace never ended and his message
from God continues to spread present day.
The Qur an was written over a period of twenty three years beginning on December 22 609 CE, and
concluding in 632. Muslims claim that Muhammad spoke the whole Quran to his followers and many
of them memorized the verses word by word and later wrote it down. The Qur an was divided into 114
chapters, called surah(s). These chapters are arranged according to length, which vary from 3 to 286
verses. The chapters of the Qur an also have a title that comes from a word that is written within the
text. However, some titles are not linked to the subject matter in each surah. The titles have names
such as The Cow (Surah 2), Noah (Surah 71), and The Most High (Surah 87). Each Sura contains an
important message for the people of Islam. Most Muslims claims

Interview With Children s Librarian
Story Time/Children s Librarian Vicki Shaffer
Interview
I observed a Saturday morning story time at the Westport Road Library, there were 8 children and 6
adults present. The children s librarian Jacleyn received a Master of Library and Information Science
from UK. She explained students earning this degree must take 5 8 core classes, then depending on
their interest take the additional courses to fulfill their chosen career path.
When asked what tips Jacleyn had for engaging multicultural children and families she was caught off

books that were not white washed . She feel there is a shortage of books for multicultural families

Stereotype Threat And Its Effect On A Persons Well Being
Stereotype Threat and its effect on a persons well being
Jessica Guzman

Psych 80
The idea of not performing adequately on a task is something that many people can relate too. This
uncomfortable feeling can be experienced throughout many different situations. Previous research
suggests that stereotypes on how people are perceived to act or perform can hinder their thought
processes and impact their overall performance. This is referred to as stereotype threat. Individuals
undergo stereotype threat when they feel pressure to conform to the stereotype that is present.
Stereotype Threat is not limited to any category or situation, but has been found to be more prominent
in certain areas. This paper will focus on stereotype threat effects in math performance between
genders, race/ethnicity and age. Stereotype threat involves the process of coping with the overall
threat being exhibited. As stated by Inzlicht and Kang, if the coping mechanisms for this threat are not
met then it can lead to stress which will in turn cause stereotype threat spill over. Since stereotype
threat is unlimited in terms of targeted groups, categories or situations stereotype spill over is
inevitably seen. The spill over of stereotype threat has a lot to do with the type of stress that is placed
on people when in situations that put fourth a negative stereotype threat. As stated by Inzlicht et. al.

Mummy Case of Paankhenamun Essay
Mummy Case of Paankhenamun Works Cited Not Included The work I chose to analyze was from a
wall fragment from the tomb of Ameneemhet and wife Hemet called Mummy Case of Paankhenamun,
found in the Art Institute of Chicago. The case of the Mummy Paankhenamun is one of the most
exquisite pieces of art produced by the Egyptian people during the time before Christ. This coffin
belonged to a man named Paankhenamun, which translates to He Lives for Amun (Hornblower
Spawforth 74). Paankhenamun was the doorkeeper of the temple of the god Amun, a position he
inherited from his father. Interestingly, X rays reveal that the mummy case of Paankhenamun does in
fact contain a mummy inside dating back to the years of c. 945 715 B.C. ... Show more content on

Nonetheless, during the 12th Dynasty, there was a temple built for Amun s worship and toward the
end of the 18th Dynasty, Amun s status increased even more and he became known as ...the great
royal deity who was Father of the Gods and ruler of Egypt and the people of its empire (Rosalie 104).
The Mummy Case of Paankhenamun was composed of a substance known as cartonnage, which was
usually made out of linen or papyrus strips bound together with a sticky substance in order to form a
flexible shell. After mummification, the wrapped body was placed in the coffin case through the back,
which was then laced up and a footboard was added for support. Only then the case was ready to be
painted. Such cartonnage cases as the case of Paankhenamun were normally placed inside one or more
layered wooden coffins and were also decorated. The innermost coffin was always in the shape of the
mummy and due to its utmost importance, it was the case with the richest decorations. The amazing
detail is still a wonder to many historians and anthropologists (Stockstad 120 3). Similarly to other
Egyptian funerary rituals, the case of Paankhenamun was also buried inside of a sarcophagus case, a
huge stone case for the coffin, and then inside of a decorated tomb, which most likely contained his
most valuable personal belongings and religious symbols. The decorations often consisted of images

A Research Project At Nasa
VII. COMMON PITFALLS
To illustrate some common pitfalls that can happen when using RM tools, I will take an example of a
project at NASA in which a misapplication of a RM tool caused major project overrun. In this project,
the requirements were decomposed into four levels. Level 1were the System level requirements which
were very high level requirements and rarely changed. Level 1 requirement underwent several layers
of decomposition to produce Level 2 requirements or the Allocated requirements . Level 2
requirements were also high level and their change frequency was minimal. Level 2 requirements
were subdivided into greater detail to produce Level 3 or Derived requirements . There was a bi
directional linkage between Level 2 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were requesting many changes in this schema and each was in isolation of the changes requested
by other organizations. Ultimately this went out of control with ineffective administration and led to
loss of data integrity, common information being self contained within each class and corruption of
established naming conventions as each organization customized their own classes.
There were also problems with the linkages between requirements. The project averaged 1500
requirements at Level 3, 6000 requirements at Level 4 and the total number of links between these two
classes averaged 19,000 links [13]. Since the project had a multiple class approach the complexity of
the linkages between these classes also grew extensively causing issues of performance. When
updating the database, major time delays were experienced. Some updates took hours and keeping the
database current was seen as a challenge. The RM tool became only a medium of storage not because
of its limitations but because of the way it was implemented [13].
So what are the important lessons to learn here?
Before implementing a RM tool it is good to understand its capabilities so that you know if it can
perform effectively over the lifetime of a project.
To implement a tool effectively, you should bring together engineers and database experts to design a
good schema for your requirements data at the

Apocalypse Now Vietnam War
Apocalypse Now took place during the Vietnam War and is directed by Frances Ford Coppola. In this
film he went above and beyond to show the mental impact war has on it s military. The US militaries
involvement in the film shows very intense situations. The US has no mercy. They were in Vietnam
working on taking total and complete control. Sadly, they didn t really know what they were doing or
who was in command. For example Captain Benjamin L. Willard, often found himself searching for
answers but everything is a mess. Soldiers were randomly shooting at unknown things. The US
military is confused but still followed their orders. The effects of war on military soldiers, post

When surrounded by it, the mental drama is very extreme and hard to recover from it. It eventually
takes over Willard. For example, they would paint their faces with mud which to me it symbolizes no
fear. Captain Willard was able to take over the situation and execute Colonel Walter E. Kurtz.
Charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500 what I
like most about this quote is that its real. Obviously drivers in the Indy 500 are expected to speed. This
cruel war expects men to commit murder on a daily basis. This quote sums up how nasty the Vietnam
War was. This led to one of the highest causalities from any war in history. Some of the lessons we ve

Iraq and Afghanistan caused many young Americans to die fighting for their country. Anytime we

Health Care Reform For The United States
Many ways are used to measure how much Americans values life. Obviously, good health is a major
factor of being happy and satisfied with an Americans life. People also place family and friends very
high on the list of value for health care insurance. Health care has become the stress to every person s
life. Health care controls everything a person does due to the drawbacks of not having it when it is
necessary; like breaking an arm or coming down with a deathly illness. With these issues, it is said
that reforms are on their way. Health care reform will be on the agenda for future sessions of
Congress, because the economic pressures of rising health care costs on the federal government,
business, and individuals are not going to abate (King). Health care has become a pain for many
reasons. It takes up time, money, and security. Having health care in the United States is a necessity;
without this many hospitals do not admit a patient or, if done so, the patient becomes flooded with
bills for everything. But just because health care is a necessity in the United States does not mean it
comes easily. With so much that goes into health care, loads of information and research must be
gathered; to understand health care and why one must have information on health care history,
information about human rights in regards of health care, what other forms of health care are out there,
price of health care, Americans opinion on American health care, and many more items that health

I ve chosen to write about the artwork In Magnolia Gardens by Alfred Hutty. It is an oil on canvas

a response to a time right after World War 1, where many people in Charleston were in despondency
and poor, the rise of tourism benefited them greatly. I selected this work because it has bright but at
the same time dark imagery, giving it a majestic but haunting piece of work. I will describe the work

The Relationship Between Profanity And Honesty
Swearing has many meanings in the current world. The connotation of those swear words is different
based upon the person hearing it. Reading the article Frankly, we do give a damn: Study finds links

to its steep downturn debt ratio from 51% in 1975 to 6% in 1979. Thus, we thought that the best

Literary Romanticism In Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads
Literary ballads is considered the seminal inspirational work of literary romanticism in Britain. The
publication of Lyrical Ballads represented a turning point for English poetry. Though the book was not
originally received as a radical experiment, it was rather controversial for its time. Being released
straight during the French revolution which was seen as a social experiment in itself. Coleridge
encouraged Wordsworth to write a preface to Lyrical Ballads which would explain the work contained
within the collection.
The phrase experimental originated from Wordsworth himself and the preface gave him the
opportunity to explain and defend the rather radical work to the readers. Wordsworth expressed
concern on how lyrical ballads would be received by his readership. That it would not only not meet
their expectations but would make them question his ability as a poet also. He knew that the poems he
was writing were so intentionally experimental that his reader s reactions would be mixed I flattered
myself that they who should be pleased with them would read them with more than common pleasure:
and on the other hand, I was well aware that by those who should dislike them they would be read
with more than common dislike.

In my setting I display respect for each individual, namely with the children I seek to understand
before being understood. It is incredibly important to gather all the background information about the
children in the setting as well as the current relevant information to incorporate this knowledge before
planning for the individual needs of each child i.e. A child with poor language abilities may need
different types of communication tactics to ensure inclusive learning such as visual stimulation in the
form of demonstrations, videos, pictures or hand gestures.
I value differences by using inclusive practice which involves a lot of detailed planning like
identifying appropriate support during play and encouraging a child to participate as part of a group in
an activity. By making sure I avoid making assumptions I give every child the same opportunities to
gauge their individual development stage and needs as opposed to presuming all children of a certain
age and physicality must be capable i.e. If a child has only one arm or is native to a different country

The Causes Of Colonialism And The Development Of Imperialism
The notion of nationalism is centered on the pride an individual has for their nation state and the
overwhelming desire to expand the power of that state. Thus stronger nations believed that
imperialism served as a tool for nationalist to further their own interests, usually at the expense of
weaker colonies. In response weaker, colonized peoples felt a surge of their own nationalism, as an
anti colonial response. Along this conflict, nationalism grew stronger, as differing nations feared
potential rival colonial powers. Imperialism sparked the growth of nationalism, through an divisive
relationship shared between the colonies and imperial powers, and by connecting colonies to global
affairs. Following the Enlightenment, French Revolution and the defeat of Napoleon. European
powers began putting a new emphasis on the importance of the nation state. This lead to the
unification of Italy, Germany, and Russia in the 19th century. As these European countries struggled
for power, they began to look abroad for new ways to spread their influence. Since the concept of
nationalism revolves around pride in one s nation, many Europeans believed that their nations race
was superior to others. In From Confession of faith, Englishman Cecil Rhodes (1877) argues this point
by stating Why should we not form a secret society with but one object the furtherance of the British
Empire and the bringing of the whole uncivilized world under British rule ...for the making the Anglo
Saxon race

The Rcmp Is A Sexist Institution
Introduction and Background Information Over a century ago Canada has developed many different
kinds of police forces to protect and serve the communities in which they work in. That being said
there the many types of police forces out there range from municipal police forces that serve smaller,
close knit communities, provincial police forces, and federal police forces that many jobs in law
enforcement fall under. Some of them in particular are the military, correctional service of Canada,
and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is also widely known as the RCMP. Therefore, I will
be writing about how I support my position on a personal and political concern involving the issue of
gender equality and women s rights in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which has been
an ongoing struggle to equal out the playing field for those women and members of the LGBT+
community wanting to apply to the police force. The RCMP is a sexist institution. Women and the
LGBT+ community members in the RCMP institution are fighting for equal rights and equal treatment
among all of its employees. Therefore, my research question is there anything being done to help
equalize out the power relations, fix the gender disparities, and promote women s rights, with the help
of liberal feminist ideals within the RCMP? The RCMP is Canada s national police service; it deals
with national, federal, provincial and municipal policing issues, plus dealing with international
policing. They

Palm s Hospital Case Study Essays
Palms Hospital
1. Address the following issues: A) Define the term incremental cash flow. As the project, at least
constructively, will be financed in part by debt, should the cash flows include interest expense?
Explain.
Incremental cash flow is the additional operating cash flow that an organization obtains from taking
on a new project. Yes the cash flow should include interest expense as burrowing money was a direct
result of taking on this project.
B) The hospital already owns the site for the center, so should any cost be attributed to the land?
Explain.
Since the hospital has already paid for the land five years ago, it should now be considered as a sunk
cost. The $150,000 payment has already happened and will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

2. Answer the following questions A) What is the project s payback? What type of information do
decision makers derive from the payback?
This project s payback is 4.1 years. Decision makers use this information to determine and measure
how long the project will take before it pays for itself. This could be seen to similar as a breakeven
analysis.
B) What is the project s net present value (NPV)? Explain the meaning of the NPV.
The project s NPV is $881,229. NPV is the present value of the annual free cash flows of the
investment minus the initial investment cost. This means that we take all the future cash flows from an
investment, discount them back to their present value today and subtract the initial cost. This will then
be telling you what your future money is worth today.
C) What is the project s internal rate of return (IRR)? Explain the economic rationale behind IRR.
The project s IRR is 12.9%. The economic rationale behind IRR is that IRR converts different
payment returns overtime into a single value and represents this number as a percentage. IRR
calculates the effective percentage return that one is going to be receiving.
D) What is the project s modified internal rate of return (MIRR)? How does MIRR differ from IRR?
The project s MIRR is 11.8%. The MIRR and IRR percentage difference is 1.1%. The IRR assumes
the cash flows are reinvested at the IRR while the MIRR assumes that the

Conventional distribution channel v/s vertical and horizontal distribution channel
A conventional distribution channel is a channel which consists of one or more independent producers,
wholesalers and retailers, each a separate business seeking to maximize its own profits. It is the most
common type of distribution channel. All producers, wholesalers and retailers must have a good
coordination in order to have an effective distribution channel. Channel conflicts are very common
leading to disruptions in distribution. Therefore, today we are moving towards developing integrated
marketing systems which are the vertical or horizontal distribution channels.
A vertical distribution channel is one in which producers, wholesalers and retailers act as a unified
system. One channel member owns the other, has contract with them or has so much power that they
cooperate. The aim here is to achieve greater efficiency and economies of scale. Another aim is to
eliminate channel conflict arising out of disparate individual objectives.
The three types of VMS are * Corporate VMS It is the combination of successive stages of production
and distribution under a single ownership channel leadership is established through common
ownership. * Contractual VMS A vertical marketing system in which independent firms of different
level of production and distribution joint together through contracts

John Stuart Mill Weaknesses
Introduction
Although John Stuart Mill s form of utilitarianism is not difficult, procedurally, to employ, complex
thought experiments are not able to fully present the results of the theory in an individual s life.
Because of this inability, I set aside a block of two days where I could apply the theory to my decision
making, which allowed me to see the pragmatic side of the theory, so I can return to a place of
analysis with a better understanding of the problems utilitarianism faces. However, within a span of
two days, I cannot claim to have received an expansive experience with Mill utilitarianism, therefore
my discussion can proceed with what I did learn, but should not be considered a complete,
comprehensive picture. After a brief review ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By ignoring the more complex theoretics of the theory, the theory simply attempts to achieve the best
results possible. In normal life, you have no need to question if we are justified in punishing serial
killers, instead, we take and give pizza slices to who we determine needs it. Even if, by some chance,
we choose incorrectly, the minor consequences are barely significant, and occasionally they go
unnoticed. When I chose to arrive late for the SAT, at this point in time, the two individuals it affected,
my proctor and the other student, are unlikely to even recall the starting time of the test, much less
consider the minor inconvenience of any real damage, while I, on the other hand, consider the extra
time to have been a great help, even if it is only a

Characteristics Of Empress Wu Zhao And Genghis Khan Of The...
Successful Empires from Vicious, Cold Hearted, Bloodthirsty Rulers
During the Medieval Period, the two rulers that are highlighted for their successful governing of their
empire are Empress Wu Zhao, ruler of the Tang Dynasty, and Genghis Khan, ruler of the Mongols.
During the reign of Empress Wu Zhao (also referred to as the Holy and Divine Emperor) and Genghis
Khan (also referred to as the Universal Ruler), both rulers created numerous changes within their
empire in an attempt to spark a new world in the empire. Both Empress Wu Zhao of the Tang Dynasty
and Genghis Khan of the Mongols share similarities and differences in their achievements that
permitted them in establishing a unified empire and having a successful reign.
In the people s eyes, Empress Wu Zhao and Genghis Khan were viewed as vicious, cold hearted, and
bloodthirsty rulers, because of their chief purpose in gaining sole power that would allow them to rule
their empire. During Empress Wu Zhao s reign, she committed immoral acts such as going to the
extent of executing her opponents and blaming the deaths of her poisoned nieces on her troublesome
nephews. During Genghis Khan s reign, there were several acts of conquests, invasions, and warrior
like behavior that resulted in several wars, which caused the non Mongolians to consider him as a
cruel ruler due to the destruction of his expeditions. For instance, in the battle against the Tatars,
majority of the people were slaughtered and children were captured to become his loyal subjects when
matured. Through these acts of cruelty, the rulers were seen as evil. The rulers were always prepared
to eliminate any rivals that would interfere with their power or become a hindrance to them. For
example, Empress Wu Zhao eliminated the existing empress of China and the leading concubines,
which were blocking her path in rising into power, enabling her to obtain the position of Empress of
China herself in the year of 655. Empress Wu Zhao went ahead and imprisoned all members of the
Tang Dynasty royal bloodline in order to ensure her reign s security. For Genghis Khan, he eliminated
all his existing rivals that consisted of Jamuka, the Tatars, Toghril, Kereit, and the Naiman ruler, which
led him to proclaim

The camp was divided into two different sections, the camp and crematoria area. In the camp area,

administration located at the main entrance of the camp. In the camp, there was an area of buildings
that included the kitchen, showers, laundry, workshops and a prison block. There was a courtyard in
between the prison and kitchen that was used for the execution of prisoners. Surrounding the camp
was an electrified barbed wire fence, a wall, a ditch and seven guard towers. A new crematorium area
was built in 1942 next to the main camp area. The area consisted of an old crematorium, a new

  • 2. Child-Rearing Child Development Throughout the forces of nature versus nurture, biological or hereditary information and day to day interactions that children encounter in their environment play a significant role in childhood development. The feeding and communication milestones are associated with childhood development and are important to the overall expansion of the individual. Each milestone is outlined and portrays what an individual should have accomplished within the period. Throughout a home or teaching practices used in elementary or secondary education, common practices in child rearing are enforced. There are several positive and negative effects of each child rearing practice that could be changed to promote better individual development and growth. The forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the principles of development learned in this course the authoritarian parent and the uninvolved parent could both make significant changes in order to promote better individual development and growth. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. (Luyckx, K. 2011) Often time s children from these authoritarian families can be less resourceful and have a lower self esteem. Authoritarian parents create a solid behavior process for their children but often create the idea that a child must lie to do what he or she wants to do. A parent in this aspect can be so focused on their child always following the rules that once a child makes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the problems which may be addressed in the PR statement can be seen in my twenty four hour plan and here as well: Herewith appear to be the most pressing matters; one, infective and inexperienced entrepreneurial leadership. Two, the dialectic nature between front of house and back of house, and three, a lack of general training motivation and direction in original concept. Now I shall divulge onto you my complete analysis of the information that you have provided to me. Examining the bottom line factor (Weber Savitz 2006) the fact that Abbey lost its spot from being the second highest revenue earning outlet in 2009 to the 4th in 2011 is alarming in itself. A rough two hundred thousand dollar loss in takings, in two years, should have sounded the alarm bells for the Managing Directors and more importantly Marcus Vesty. This ties in significantly with the fact that the concept from opening of the Abbey in 2009 has since wallowed. The entrepreneurial and perhaps managerial aspects of the Abbey have waned resulting in poor standards of service (Parsa et al. 2005). This is reflective almost in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Study With Immense Determination And Motivation For... I began this mini study with immense determination and motivation in hearing personal experiences from female superintendents regarding the barriers and challenges they faced along their journeys. Selfishly, I sought to better understand what I may face later down the road, as I personally aspire to be a superintendent one day. Additionally, I have always had a strong interest in challenges that marginalized groups often face. Therefore, it seemed like this topic would be natural fit. During my very first interview, I was quite nervous. Although I had mulled over my questions repeatedly and had practiced my questions with my husband, classmates, and in the mirror, I wanted to sound like a competent researcher who was authentically invested in this process. I did not want to misrepresent myself or the university. I giggled as I listened to the recording of the first interview. I kept saying good! and okay... for a conversation filler, occasionally even when the participant was still talking! During this interview, I quickly realized that my questions were out of order. While I intended to open with easier, less personal questions, I found that stalled deep conversations regarding gender barriers in the profession. Therefore, I abandoned my specific conversation order with the two other participants and let the conversation flow more freely. I believe I was stifling the responses and myself by being too rigid. While that rigidity potentially came out of fear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rothbard and Wilk s (2010) Study Although there are very few studies which examine the effect of mood on job performance, Rothbard and Wilk s (2010) research is of great value.[2] They studied the moods and performance of 29 customer service representatives in a large insurance company over a three week period. They wanted to find out how the mood that customer service representatives bring to the workplace at the start of the day influence task engagement and performance throughout the day and how the changes in moods during the interactions with the customers affect the rest of the workday. In this study, both positive and negative mood from non work sources have been shown to influence work mood and behaviors. They brought forth three sets of hypotheses: Hypothesis 1a: Higher start of day positive mood will be associated with higher positive work mood later in the day, controlling for trait affect. Hypothesis 1b: Higher start of day negative mood will be associated with higher negative work mood later in the day, controlling for trait affect. Hypothesis 2a: Higher perceived customer positive mood will be associated with higher positive employee work mood during the day, controlling for trait affect. In the play, King Lear, Shakespeare gives a clear illustration on how the hidden human intentions are bound to be exposed at the right time. The ever changing world has seen the beliefs and nature of man change alongside it. In the long run, a person may not be sure of what to believe in anymore. The essay will look at how King Lear and Edmund suffer from crisis of faith as well as demonstrate how time and experience changes the beliefs of man, and how even the most trusted people can lead to one s downfall. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Current Account Deficit, he explained that economic crisis has its background way back a decade ago, as the developing countries had modest trade and account deficit of which was financed by borrowing from the rest of the world in order to invest more than save, bringing about financial crisis i.e. they will be rich in future by constructing infrastructures but face recession in present. Housing prices was another contributing cause to the recession. In the decade going towards 2006, housing prices spiraled up by more than 25% due to high demand, decline in lending standards, and low interest rates in the 2000s. Between 2000 and 2006 large number of borrowers took out mortgages as they were lured by the prevailing favorable rates. This had the effect of fetching all and sundry including those individuals with bad credit records. The Federal Reserve began to raise fed funds thus interest rates cropped from 1.25% to 5.25% a reasonable level to fight the inflation level as well as overall loans between banks. Expensive repayment on loan had the effect of softening housing markets since borrowing was costly. According to Bernanke, by August 2007, nearly 16% of mortgages were in default, (qtd. In Jones 6) this explains the advancement in the problem due to low housing prices that led to defaults and further lowered housing prices even further in a vicious cycle. In addition,

This environment is where water and organic matter is plentiful. In there natural habitat, pill bugs are found in dark, damp places. These experiments are to test to see if these animals will prefer a certain habitat rather than another and how they show this is through either kinesis movement or taxis movement. MATERIALS AND METHODS In all labs, a lab book and a pen or pencil are essential to record the number of pillbugs. The times come up fast so you have to make sure you are watching the clock or stop watch. Obviously, do not poke the pillbugs or try and force them into a certain chamber aggressively, this will aggravate them and cause unreliable results. When you are trying to get your pillbugs, use a paintbrush to sweep them onto your brush and then carefully place them into the choice chamber dish that is provided for you. Make sure to get 10 pillbugs so you can have five in each chamber. If they look dead, they are most likely just curled up. During the various tests, make sure to take notes on the appearance, the types of movements (kinesis or taxis) and the interactions between the animals. The first experiment is to find out if the pillbugs prefer dark or light environments. The choice chambers have a little passageway between the chambers. • 12. The Causes And Complications Of Devil Facial Tumour Diseases Devil facial tumour disease, also known as DFTD, is a clonally transmissible cancer exclusively found in the Tasmanian Devil (Sarcophilus harrisii)(C.E Hawkins et al., 2006). It is transmitted as an allograft (Pearse Swift, 2006), making it an extremely abnormal disease, as it is one of very few known transmissible cancers. The other known transmissible cancers are Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (CTVT) in Dogs (Murgia et al., 2006), Contagious Reticulum Cell Sarcoma in Syrian Hamsters (Cooper et al.,1964) and a form of transmissible Leukaemia in Soft Shelled Clams (Metzger et al. 2015). The disease is highly infectious, and has spread at a rapid speed through the population, with it spreading from the first sole report in the very north eastern corner of Tasmania in 1996, to occurring across 59% of the Tasmanian Mainland just over 10 years later in 2007 (Figure 1). Recent findings have also shown that a new Facial Tumour Disease, called DFT2, has arisen recently. It is indistinguishable from DFTD apart from on a histological level and has only been discovered in 5 individuals so far (Pye et al. 2015). This disease is so far limited to the south eastern Channel Peninsula, but suggests that this species is particularly vulnerable to clonally transmissible cancers of this nature. What does the disease look like, how does it affect them? The disease has affected population numbers as such. Both cultures believe in mostly the same gods and demigods, also known as half gods, but have different names to designate them. Perhaps the most famous demigod known most notably for his superhuman strength is Hercules, the Roman name for the Greek demigod Heracles. By the creases in his leg muscles, Hercules is sent in motion and it is evident that the hero is using all his might to pull the beast towards him in order to control him. There are some songs though that do have meaning and a story behind them. House In the Hills by Wiz Khalifa tells the story about the artist s life, and how people focus on some of his bad habits instead of focusing on all of the good he has done for himself, and all the beneficial things he has accomplished. People tend to look at the stereotypical black person and focus on all of the bad situations that they may have come from, instead of looking for the good in the person and looking at the paths that they have made for themselves. Bill the butcher Cutting s gang of nativists have challenged the dead rabbits (a gang of mostly Irish immigrants) to a fight to settle once and for all who is the most powerful gang in the area. After an intense battle the nativists win by killing the leader of the dead rabbits , also Amsterdam s (the main character s) father. The movie has so many scenes (it s two hours and forty five minutes long) it s hard to pick a favorite. If I had to it would be the ending scene though, where the Draft Riots are in full force and finally Amsterdam and Jenny visit the graves of Bill Cutting and Amsterdam s father, followed by a time laps scene of the graveyard and the New York City skyline. The ending scene is important because it puts the whole movie into perspective. You get so caught up in the fighting, and crime that you forget the big picture. With the Union Army s actions it shows how weak and ridiculous the gangs in New York were. Simply, gangs were (and to some extent still are) nothing but a certain demographic joining in large numbers only to force their ideas on the majority. The scene also touches on the fact that presently no one remembers or cares about the gangs or the riots, furthering the idea of the pointlessness of it. Historically speaking, the movie relates the United States history poorly. It has many accuracies historically, but the problems far outweigh them. First though, the accuracies. The movie depicts the Five Points in New York as being poor, pestilent, and ugly. This is true to history. The district was doomed to slumhood from the beginning. I spent my entire life trying to capture the decisive moment, but every moment in life was a decisive moment, says Henry Cartier Bresson (1). Prufrock is a man with great inhibitions who only dares to dream of professing his affection to a woman. Throughout the poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by Thomas Elliot, the narrator has expressed certainty about his beloved s interest in him, and he is more than inclined on accepting it. On the contrary, Prufrock makes no attempt to overcome his insecurities, while he, instead, blames himself for his cowardice. Stereotype Threat And Its Effect On A Persons Well Being Stereotype Threat and its effect on a persons well being Jessica Guzman Chaffey Community College Professor Barbari Psych 80 The idea of not performing adequately on a task is something that many people can relate too. This uncomfortable feeling can be experienced throughout many different situations. Previous research suggests that stereotypes on how people are perceived to act or perform can hinder their thought processes and impact their overall performance. This is referred to as stereotype threat. Individuals undergo stereotype threat when they feel pressure to conform to the stereotype that is present. Stereotype Threat is not limited to any category or situation, but has been found to be more prominent in certain areas. This paper will focus on stereotype threat effects in math performance between genders, race/ethnicity and age. Stereotype threat involves the process of coping with the overall threat being exhibited. As stated by Inzlicht and Kang, if the coping mechanisms for this threat are not met then it can lead to stress which will in turn cause stereotype threat spill over. Mummy Case of Paankhenamun Essay Mummy Case of Paankhenamun Works Cited Not Included The work I chose to analyze was from a wall fragment from the tomb of Ameneemhet and wife Hemet called Mummy Case of Paankhenamun, found in the Art Institute of Chicago. The case of the Mummy Paankhenamun is one of the most exquisite pieces of art produced by the Egyptian people during the time before Christ. This coffin belonged to a man named Paankhenamun, which translates to He Lives for Amun (Hornblower Spawforth 74). Paankhenamun was the doorkeeper of the temple of the god Amun, a position he inherited from his father. The Mummy Case of Paankhenamun was composed of a substance known as cartonnage, which was usually made out of linen or papyrus strips bound together with a sticky substance in order to form a flexible shell. After mummification, the wrapped body was placed in the coffin case through the back, which was then laced up and a footboard was added for support. Only then the case was ready to be painted. Such cartonnage cases as the case of Paankhenamun were normally placed inside one or more layered wooden coffins and were also decorated. The innermost coffin was always in the shape of the mummy and due to its utmost importance, it was the case with the richest decorations. The amazing detail is still a wonder to many historians and anthropologists (Stockstad 120 3). Similarly to other Egyptian funerary rituals, the case of Paankhenamun was also buried inside of a sarcophagus case, a huge stone case for the coffin, and then inside of a decorated tomb, which most likely contained his most valuable personal belongings and religious symbols. There were also problems with the linkages between requirements. The project averaged 1500 requirements at Level 3, 6000 requirements at Level 4 and the total number of links between these two classes averaged 19,000 links [13]. Since the project had a multiple class approach the complexity of the linkages between these classes also grew extensively causing issues of performance. • 35. Literary Romanticism In Wordsworth s Lyrical Ballads Literary ballads is considered the seminal inspirational work of literary romanticism in Britain. The publication of Lyrical Ballads represented a turning point for English poetry. Though the book was not originally received as a radical experiment, it was rather controversial for its time. Being released straight during the French revolution which was seen as a social experiment in itself. Coleridge encouraged Wordsworth to write a preface to Lyrical Ballads which would explain the work contained within the collection. The phrase experimental originated from Wordsworth himself and the preface gave him the opportunity to explain and defend the rather radical work to the readers. Wordsworth expressed concern on how lyrical ballads would be received by his readership. That it would not only not meet their expectations but would make them question his ability as a poet also. He knew that the poems he was writing were so intentionally experimental that his reader s reactions would be mixed I flattered myself that they who should be pleased with them would read them with more than common pleasure: and on the other hand, I was well aware that by those who should dislike them they would be read with more than common dislike. It is incredibly important to gather all the background information about the children in the setting as well as the current relevant information to incorporate this knowledge before planning for the individual needs of each child i.e. A child with poor language abilities may need different types of communication tactics to ensure inclusive learning such as visual stimulation in the form of demonstrations, videos, pictures or hand gestures. I value differences by using inclusive practice which involves a lot of detailed planning like identifying appropriate support during play and encouraging a child to participate as part of a group in an activity. By making sure I avoid making assumptions I give every child the same opportunities to gauge their individual development stage and needs as opposed to presuming all children of a certain age and physicality must be capable i.e. If a child has only one arm or is native to a different country and therefore does not speak English, they should still be encouraged to take part in activities provided all necessary planning is in place to suit their unique individual needs, also avoiding isolating them from the other children. • 39. The Causes Of Colonialism And The Development Of Imperialism The notion of nationalism is centered on the pride an individual has for their nation state and the overwhelming desire to expand the power of that state. Thus stronger nations believed that imperialism served as a tool for nationalist to further their own interests, usually at the expense of weaker colonies. In response weaker, colonized peoples felt a surge of their own nationalism, as an anti colonial response. Along this conflict, nationalism grew stronger, as differing nations feared potential rival colonial powers. Imperialism sparked the growth of nationalism, through an divisive relationship shared between the colonies and imperial powers, and by connecting colonies to global affairs. Following the Enlightenment, French Revolution and the defeat of Napoleon. European powers began putting a new emphasis on the importance of the nation state. This lead to the unification of Italy, Germany, and Russia in the 19th century. As these European countries struggled for power, they began to look abroad for new ways to spread their influence. Since the concept of nationalism revolves around pride in one s nation, many Europeans believed that their nations race was superior to others. • 40. The Rcmp Is A Sexist Institution Introduction and Background Information Over a century ago Canada has developed many different kinds of police forces to protect and serve the communities in which they work in. That being said there the many types of police forces out there range from municipal police forces that serve smaller, close knit communities, provincial police forces, and federal police forces that many jobs in law enforcement fall under. Some of them in particular are the military, correctional service of Canada, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is also widely known as the RCMP. Therefore, I will be writing about how I support my position on a personal and political concern involving the issue of gender equality and women s rights in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which has been an ongoing struggle to equal out the playing field for those women and members of the LGBT+ community wanting to apply to the police force. The RCMP is a sexist institution. Women and the LGBT+ community members in the RCMP institution are fighting for equal rights and equal treatment among all of its employees. Therefore, my research question is there anything being done to help equalize out the power relations, fix the gender disparities, and promote women s rights, with the help of liberal feminist ideals within the RCMP? The RCMP is Canada s national police service; it deals with national, federal, provincial and municipal policing issues, plus dealing with international policing. They ... Successful Empires from Vicious, Cold Hearted, Bloodthirsty Rulers During the Medieval Period, the two rulers that are highlighted for their successful governing of their empire are Empress Wu Zhao, ruler of the Tang Dynasty, and Genghis Khan, ruler of the Mongols. During the reign of Empress Wu Zhao (also referred to as the Holy and Divine Emperor) and Genghis Khan (also referred to as the Universal Ruler), both rulers created numerous changes within their empire in an attempt to spark a new world in the empire. Both Empress Wu Zhao of the Tang Dynasty and Genghis Khan of the Mongols share similarities and differences in their achievements that permitted them in establishing a unified empire and having a successful reign. In the people s eyes, Empress Wu Zhao and Genghis Khan were viewed as vicious, cold hearted, and bloodthirsty rulers, because of their chief purpose in gaining sole power that would allow them to rule their empire. During Empress Wu Zhao s reign, she committed immoral acts such as going to the extent of executing her opponents and blaming the deaths of her poisoned nieces on her troublesome nephews. During Genghis Khan s reign, there were several acts of conquests, invasions, and warrior like behavior that resulted in several wars, which caused the non Mongolians to consider him as a cruel ruler due to the destruction of his expeditions. For instance, in the battle against the Tatars, majority of the people were slaughtered and children were captured to become his loyal subjects when matured. Through these acts of cruelty, the rulers were seen as evil. The rulers were always prepared to eliminate any rivals that would interfere with their power or become a hindrance to them. For example, Empress Wu Zhao eliminated the existing empress of China and the leading concubines, which were blocking her path in rising into power, enabling her to obtain the position of Empress of China herself in the year of 655. Empress Wu Zhao went ahead and imprisoned all members of the Tang Dynasty royal bloodline in order to ensure her reign s security.
