Stress Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of stress is, ironically, a task that can induce its own set of
challenges. Addressing such a complex and multifaceted subject requires a delicate balance
between personal insights, scientific research, and an empathetic understanding of the human
experience. The difficulty lies not only in articulating the physiological and psychological aspects
of stress but also in navigating the subjective nature of stressors, as they vary widely from person
to person.
One must delve into the realms of psychology, neurobiology, sociology, and even philosophy to
provide a comprehensive view. It involves sifting through a vast array of research papers,
scholarly articles, and personal narratives to construct an informed and nuanced perspective.
Additionally, weaving together these disparate threads into a coherent and engaging narrative
requires a keen sense of organization and a mastery of language.
Moreover, the essay should not merely be an academic exercise but a piece that resonates with
the reader on a personal level. This demands a delicate balance between relaying factual
information and connecting emotionally with the audience. Striking this balance becomes even
more challenging when considering the sensitivity of the topic – stress is an experience that
many individuals grapple with daily, and the essay must be mindful of the potential impact on
the reader's own stress levels.
As a writer, introspection becomes a crucial part of the process. Articulating one's thoughts on
stress requires a level of self-awareness that may, in itself, be a confronting endeavor. It involves
navigating one's own experiences and finding the right words to express the often ineffable
aspects of stress.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on stress necessitates a nuanced understanding of the topic, a
comprehensive exploration of various disciplines, a delicate balance between facts and emotions,
and a willingness to introspect. It is, undeniably, a challenging task that demands both
intellectual rigor and emotional intelligence.
For those seeking assistance or a shortcut through this intricate process, it's worth noting that

The Fashion Industry In The Devil Wears Prada
It can be said that the Fashion industry is not for everyone, especially Anne
Hathaway s character in the 2006 Film The Devil Wears Prada. The fashion industry
is one of the hardest business to work in and this film shows it. The fashion Industry
takes a lot of time, money, dedication, and uses lots of resources that Anne Hathaways
role, Andy Sachs learns quickly. As coming out of Northwestern College as a
journalist she lands a job with the magazine Runway as their junior Assistant for the
head editor and chef Miranda Priestly, who is played by the wonderful Meryl Streep.
Miranda could be described as strict, stern, demanding, and a overall perfectionist.
However, by the end of dealing with Mirandas demands for a year Andy can only
hope she will score a job as a reporter or writer else where, so the question is will
she do it? When Andy begins her job as the junior assistant you can definitely see
that she struggles a lot. Andy walking in had no sense of style, had no knowledge
of what Runway Magazine was, and also had no idea that many people had wanted
her position at this company. In fact the first day that Andy arrives at runway
magazines home office she is absolutely appalled. Emily Charlton, Miranda s Senior
assistant was supposed to interview Andy, but unfortunately as soon as Andy and
Emily sat down to chat the phone had rang. It was Mirandas driver stating that they
were outside and to prepare. With the look of madness in Emily s eyes you could see

Ethical, policy and commercial considerations had to be taken care of significantly
while making the decision. Going by history, a greater percentage of Ciba Geigy s
sales came from the pharmaceutical divisions. The previous year in 1982 pharma
division contributed to a whole 30% of the entire group s sales with a revenue base
of 4.1 billion Swiss francs making it the second largest pharmaceutical firm in the
whole globe. Pharma operated majorly in four areas namely analgesics and
antirheumatics (23% of sales) not excluding Voltaren, cardiovascular products (30%)
with the inclusion of beta blockers, drugs for treating epilepsy and antidepressants
(15%) and antibiotics together with other drugs. Pharma also included OTC drugs, a
contact lens business, and a servipharm division specifically operating to meet the
demands of the developing countries. Even though the pharmaceutical industry had
been highly profitable and contributed about 40% OF Ciba Geigy s revenues in profit,
there were some trends, which were worrying. The government had attempted to
reduce a cost of healthcare thus; pressure to lower costs was mounting on
industrialized countries. There were restrictions to introduce new products, and price
control became stricter while limiting the freedom of doctors to prescribe
medications. Patent controls were becoming reduced, and the pharmaceutical
industry was becoming increasingly criticized. These trends later made the industry to
Importance of Accountability
No matter what you do in life whether it is being a teacher, cop, secretary, forensic
scientist, or in my case, Marine, you will always find one thing in common. Within
all of these jobs you will find that accountability is very important. You will also find
that within keeping accountability you will not succeed. Accountability is knowing
the amount of items or people in which you are responsible for. Accountability is
also knowing where the items and people are at all times. While knowing where
everything and everyone is, you also need to keep record of everything. All the
aspects of accountability are important because without it things would be in chaos.
The way I am going to explain the importance of accountability will be through my...

That includes keeping it in good condition and not losing it. If you lose this gear
you will end up paying for it. This gear isn t cheap so having accountability is
important. If you are the one issuing out the gear you need to make sure it gets
returned when it needs to. This means keeping signatures on file. Also, keeping
accountability of everything you have. When you are doing inventory on your
gear you will know if something is missing if the numbers don t add up. That is
one time that keeping record of things will come in handy. You can look back to
see if someone issued it out and who it was. Another time that keeping everything
on record will be when someone tries to say they returned there gear but yet you do
not have it. You can go back and make sure they signed their name when they
brought the gear back. If they did, it will end up being your loss. If they did not, it
will end up being there loss. When you are a Marine who is single or does not
have a child, you live in the barracks. When you live in the barracks things are
provided to you. Such as a bed and dressers. To some it may not seem like
something you are responsible for. That is not the case. When you move out of that
room or that barracks that stuff still needs to be there in good condition. This is also
accountability. You may bring the chair that is provided to you into someone else s
room to sit on while playing video
The Gospels
The Gospels goal is to combine the gospel message with other important material as
it relates to Jesus life and teachings. Collectively to say that Jesus is the one true
Savior of the world and through him we could have eternal life.
Matthew is claimed to be between AD 80 and 100. Matthew focus was for the Jewish
Christians who were being pushed out of their communities in Galilee. It is very
important to Matthew that Jesus is the son of Abraham. The Jesus was a jew in the
sense of it all. Matthew emphasizes that the coming of Jesus was the supreme event
in history. Every circumstance including the birth, life, teaching, death, and
resurrection of Jesus was the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Mark was somewhere between the range of AD 40 and 60. Mark dramatically
highlights the major episodes of Jesus life, that prove him to be the son of God, the
great servant preacher who is ushering in God s saving reign. Mark s major theme is
recording a description of who Jesus was and the impact he had in those who came in
contact with him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sipp Bay Experiments
The West coast of Sipp Bay, Perry contain various shell thickness of Periwinkles
ranging from two to eight millimeters. We have retrieved 3000 Periwinkles from
Sipp Bay. In the laboratory, three square tanks with an area of 4 m2 were built. The
tank s environment is modeled after West coast environment using materials gathered
from the coastline. Each tank contains 1000 Periwinkles and eight trials were
conducted. The first tank is our control group. We added 1000 Periwinkles into the
control tank and recorded the shell thickness for each individual Periwinkle in the
population. Carcinus were not included in the control tank. The Periwinkles could
reproduce without any environmental pressures caused by the Carcinus. The

number of periwinkles present are exactly same as the Periwinkle population used for
the control group. For this tank, one Carcinus is introduced to the Periwinkle
population. The Periwinkles had to reproduce while the Carcinus is feasting upon
them. After five generations, we recorded the shell thickness and number of

Analysis Of Diana George s Changing The Face Of Poverty
In Diana Georges Changing the Face of Poverty , she uses various examples of ads,
brands, and organizations to show that the way poverty is portrayed has corrupted the
understanding Americans have on poverty and what it really is. I agree with Diana
George s statement that the impression of poverty through visual imagery is
distorted. Her essay examines many aspects of the misrepresentation of poverty.
Society believes that they are doing more than what is actually being accomplished.
The effect of her explanation allows for the audience to alter their opinion on the true
image of poverty. Her use of real organizations within the community strengthens her
approach. In her writing, George examines how certain organizations, such as the
Habitat for Humanity that aim to eliminate poverty may be working against
themselves by the way they choose to show the problem. The visual representation
that the organization gives reflect the understanding that most Americans have when
it comes to what poverty really is. Showing the typical shacks, dirt, and black and
white photos will alter a person s mindset on poverty and cause them to not be able to
recognize themselves in that situation. In reality, the poverty in countries like Africa
are no different than the poverty we have in America. Georges writing gives
examples of how Americans within our society are not motivated to help people as
compared to other countries. All the sources she uses in her analysis are representing
Maggi Case Study
Introduction: #MaggiInASoup
For nearly three decades, Nestle s Maggi noodles was the ultimate success story: an
unlikely product embraced wholeheartedly by a difficult market. Over the last few
weeks, it s become a case study of an entirely different sort a textbook example of
how not to handle a crisis.
According to the World Instant Noodles Association, India consumed 5,340 million
cups or bags of instant noodles through 2014. It counts among the fastest growing
markets in the world for the snack, having almost doubled in size since 2010 when it
accounted for 2,940 million units. Maggi is estimated to have a 70 per cent share of
the market, and contributes nearly 30 per cent to Nestle s Rs 9000 crore annual
turnover. While starting off life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where did it go wrong?
A common complaint is how clinical Nestle s reaction has been. While the brand
ambassadors are obviously scared of talking given the possibility of being dragged
into a legal imbroglio, there s literally no face to the campaign at the time of going
to print. Sourav Ray, chief strategy officer, Havas observes, I would have expected
the leadership team to have come out and taken ownership of this problem.
Communication strategy of Nestle was quite ineffective in the wake of the disaster
as the authorities and the Headquarters took a long time in responding to the claims
of Nestle being pulled off the shelves. If the strategy would have been clear the
media fiasco Nestle got embroiled into could have been easily avoided.
Recommendations
Nestle should take cue from Cadbury and cola giants who have had troubles of their
own in the Indian market but with clear communication strategy were able to get
themselves back on their feet and their cases may still remain only for academic
Discuss Athletics as a Pre-Industrial Popular Recreation...
Athletics had relative importance in pre industrial Britain mostly taking place at
traditional fairs and festivals. For example a wake was seen as a great social
occasion whereby mainly the lower class men would compete in events such as
stick fighting, running, climbing a greasy pole and wrestling. These activities were
seen as athletic events and were an opportunity for the lower class men to show off
their power and strength to the women. In addition women had the opportunity to
take part in events such as smock races. Festivals and fairs such as these would take
place on church holy days such as Easter and were seen as a chance for celebration
and enjoyment. Prime examples of Festivals such as these include the Much Wenlock
and Dover... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, athletics developed dramatically as a postindustrial rational recreation.
The industrial revolution ended the traditional festivals and fairs as people moved
to bigger cities in search of jobs. Instead, professional athletes became more
popular especially in the cities and the sport modernized significantly. There were
a number of purpose build specialist tracks by the end of the 1850s, which lead to
an increase in the number of competitions that took place. These competitions
would often have extremely large amounts of spectators of up to 20,000, helped by
the improvements in transport such as the railways. Wagering of pre industrial
Britain was replaced with a more sophisticated type of gambling whereby people
would bet on the winners of each race. Athletics as a rational recreation involved
both the upper and lower classes. The upper and new middle classes were generally
amateurs and would compete for the enjoyment and ability to show off to friends
whereas the working class would become professionals and ran to make money.
However the ex university gentleman did not want to compete against professionals
and founded the Amateur Athletics Club in 1866 in order to exclude the working
class professionals from competing against them. In 1880 the Amateur Athletics
Association was formed which then recognized all areas of society, and therefore the
exclusion clause was
Amazon s An Online Bookstore
History Amazon was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos and originally began as an
online bookstore (The History of Amazon). Since its creation, Amazon has branched
and has turned into an online super store where consumers can buy just about
anything: clothing, jewelry, electronics, health and beauty products, home appliances
and more. By 2011, Amazon was raking in a staggering fifty billion dollars in
revenue (Sawhney, 2014). Since the beginning, Amazon has been known to invest in
emerging opportunities, even before they were known to be profitable (Sawhney,
2014). They were a company built on innovation, and in a statement made by Bezos,
invention is in Amazon s DNA (Sawhney, 2014). Amazon had persistently been on

The Dilemma Since there are numerous tablets available in today s market, it has
become increasingly difficult for Amazon to differentiate itself from the
competition. In fact, the year 2011 was deemed the year of the tablet as twenty
one different tablets were launched into the market that year alone (Sawhney,
2014). Barnes and Noble introduced its Nook product line in 2009, which, among
other benefits, featured a six inch screen and 168 hour battery life (Sawhney,
2014). They would later launch the Nook Color in 2010 and the Follow On Nook
tablet in 2011, both of which featured access to third party Apps available in the
Barnes and Noble Marketplace and the capability to stream multimedia content
(Sawhney, 2014). In April 2010, Apple s iPad was born and became one of the
years most desired devices (Sawhney, 2014). One year later, the iPad 2 was
released which featured a slew of new benefits, from faster processor speed to high
resolution front and back facing cameras (Sawhney, 2014). Apple seemed to have
created a device perfectly balanced somewhere between a smart phone and a laptop
and consumers loved it, reflected in Apple s sixty seven percent market share in 2011

example, Samsung s line
Korean Wave
1.0 Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to study a sub culture by conducting an oral interview
with a group of people who belong to a particular cultural group. This interview is
carried out to understand their perception of the sub culture. The people chosen for
this oral interview are Helen Xu who comes from China and Hana Yamata who
comes from Japan, and both of them are big fans of Korean culture. In order to
present their experiences of Korean Wave, this paper will be divided into four
sections. The first section will describe demographic characteristics of the Korean
Wave group in Asia. The second section is a literature review refering to the cultural
background of Korean Wave including Korean pop music, drama, food and so ...

This culture is often called individualism. Moreover, Hofstede (1980), noted that
power distance in a culture, which means the difference between the lowest and
highest member. Highest member refer to a person or a group always makes the
decision; people who always have input is belong to lowest member. For example,
Korean drama considers family oriented stories in which father has the power in the
family, and other members of family usually defer to him. However, in Western
society, parents cultivate their child to be more creative, and give them more freedom
to choose their future education and career. Therefore, In Western culture, a child can
make such decisions himself, while, in Korean culture, children are more likely to
defer to their father. Futhurmoer, Western modernity and Asian traditions has formed
striking comparison. In 18 century, Western societies had rised the evolution of post
modernity that suggests the end of original culture, art, subject and history. The
production of post modernity includes the internet, cars, digital computers and so on
(Venn Featherstone, 2006, p.462). Modernity refers a new way of lifestyle and social
system. Asian traditions advocate the beliefs, rituals, morals, values and customers in
which human being have been passed down from their ancestors (O Shannessy
Minett, 2008, p.33). Especially, Taoism and Confucianism have had a profound
impact on Asian socities, such

He then transitioned into art direction, and then overall direction. Recently, he is best

Droids C3PO and R2D2 look out the window of a space ship. Repeating circular
shapes balance the composition while drawing the viewer into the scene through
framing the window. The focal point of the image is the window. The darkness of
outside the space ship weights the drawing in the center, and the framing elements of
the droids also draws the viewer to the center of the frame. The character s attention is

Using the scale of the moon and details of the surface of the planet, it was
successfully communicated how far the ship was from the ground. This sequence
could have easily been shot straightforward and would lack any excitement or
dynamic. Johnston successfully create an interesting sequence through varying the
camera height and angle throughout the decent. The light colored Millennium Falcon
is always overlapping with some part of the dark void of space in each frame,
causing it to be the focal point of all shots. The texture of the planet becomes more
recognizable as the ship moves closer to the surface, communicating the changing
distance between the ship and the planet. In addition to lack of surface detail in the
first 4 frames, the shape repetition changes from circular to organic and abstract. This
is a successful sequence due to the use of shape, value, and detail to communicate to
the viewer the story of the Millennium Falcon landing on a planet.
Two different sequences of two frames each, use similar techniques to communication
the story. Both sequences use the framing element of foreground environment and
foreground figures to push focus to what characters are looking at in the middle and
backgrounds.
In the top set, the figures are looking at the vehicle in the bottom right corner of the
first panel. The camera is then taken closer to the vehicle to introduce the character
driving it; Luke Skywalker, the
The Sustainability Of The Telstra Network
Research Project
Introduction of Telstra
Telstra is the Australia s leading telecommunication and information services
company. It has provided the range of communication services which are competent
in the market. The industry offer 16 million mobile services, 7.5 million fixed voice
services and three million retail fixed broadband services around the country. The
company comprise with the Australia largest stakeholders with 1.4 million. The
research projects will discuss and analyse the sustainability of the Telstra network
business in the environment through the review of academic works, corporate
websites and annual reports. It also focuses on different trends which are applied by
Telstra to bring drastic change in the eco friendly atmosphere.
To start, the centralised/vertical structure of Telstra is designed to accomplish the
targeted goal. The organizations produce the products which travel through
manufacturers to wholesalers then to customers. Also company follow the Telstra
Business Principles which is the key component of corporate governance framwork.
This framework helps to build the transparency and accountability for the long term
performance and sustainability. Moreover, the CEOs as the board is responsible for
the improvement and execution of policy and complete supervision and performance
of the company. Then the middle mangers (Controller/director) follow the rules and
policies set by CEO and control the first line mangers. Besides, they keep
Reflection Of Group Development
To begin, the very first part of group development but also the class, was to form a
group that you would work with throughout the whole semester. The class discussed
ways to assign group members, but ultimately, the decision was to let students pick
their groups. In all honesty, I was not fond of this idea, but I selected my group. I
began by wanting one of the two boys in my group, because I wanted a male s
perspective throughout the project. I decidedI wanted to work with Adam because I
had witnessed him ask challenging questions and succeed in debates with
previous professors, all characteristics I thought could be beneficial at the time.
With choosing Adam came Matt, because since they were the only two males in a
lecture dominated by females. Lastly, Alex decided she wanted to work with me
because we had a previous class together and she stated she liked the way I handled
myself within that lecture. Once the group was all in agreeance to work together,
we began to take part in small talk, such as, how old we were, what we were
studying, but mainly that we were all determined to get a high grade in this class, a
comment I had taken seriously at the time and thought was true of all members.
When the class was eventually instructed to discuss topics that were of importance to
us, there was no doubt that focusing on nontraditional students and their connection
to campus life was going to be the topic we focused on because it was of such
importance to Вѕ of our group.
Analysis Of Santa Clause Is Coming To Town
The song, Santa Claus is Coming to Town is a very happy and cheerful song that
is played during the month of December to bring out the Christmas spirit in people.
The history behind it is how two men got their big break and made one of the most
played Christmas songs of all time. The song was originally written by John
Frederick Coots and composed by Haven Gillespie on October 1933. Gillespie was
in charge of expressing his gift of writing children s song lyrics while Coots came
up with the tune that caught the attention of young children. The two came up
with the song while riding a subway car in New York. The two men had a
masterpiece in their hands, but needed someone to produce it. Many artists passed
on the song because they didn t believe the it would hit big on the charts and would
be difficult to sell, especially since it was a song for kids. Coots at the time was a
writer for Eddie Cantor and tried to persuade him to sing the song live on his radio
station. Cantor was undecided on whether to sing it, but his wife eventually
convinced him to give the song a chance. He ended up performing it live on
November 1934 on his radio station and brought huge publicity to the song. After
it was aired on the radio station, the song blew up. People from all over were
requesting to hear the song over and over again. It sold over 400,00 copies and
300,00 of those were sold within the first 24 hours. The song made the writers
millionaires with hundreds of copies being sold. It
Peer Pressure In Macbeth
In William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, Macbeth is peer pressured by his own
spouse to murder King Duncan causing numerous of problems afterwards. Although
Shakespeare showed how peer pressure has a negative affect on one s life many
centuries ago one can still see this in modern times, most commonly in the period of
one s adolescence. Peer pressurehas a negative effect on one s life because it will
cause one to make wrong decisions, which will affect one s health, and it will also
ruin relationships.
During adolescence, peers play a large role in a young person s life. Most
adolescents give into peer pressure because they want to fit in, are worried about
what other adolescents will think about them, or even worse, they will bully them for
Agglomeration Of New Caledonia
Political debates usually focus on mobilising the other side to commit to a preferred
course of action, thereby not only ignoring an apparent opposition in ideological
viewpoints, but also the fact that sharing a common official language and common
institutions does not necessarily entail a consensus on the issue at hand. As a sui
generis collectivity in the Pacific, New Caledonia is currently involved in a decisive
debate on self determination with one of the most powerful former colonising nations
in Europe. The negotiation process between New Caledonia and France pertaining to
the full or partial independence of the island agglomeration remains ongoing. A

106). The present study aims to partially redress this imbalance. Instead of
privileging literary texts or explicitly political discourse, uttered at the higher levels
of society, grassroots level discourse will be given all the attention it deserves as the
result of political interaction and the emphasis will be on language as it is used by
all of the interactants in the context of the New Caledonian independence debate. The
project aims to explore the relations between discourse, power and social interaction.
Consequently, the audience of the political speeches, radio interviews or public
letters, the recipients, equally deserve consideration, especially as a group that not
only reacts to the discourse, but, at the same time, critically evaluates the
argumentation and then responds to it. All of the groups involved make attempts at
convincing the other groups of the validity of their propositions. Other analytical
approaches to discourse that focus on the social aspects of dialoguing equally
understand discourse to be a form of social interaction (van Dijk, 1985; Boden
Zimmennan, 1991). Since it is mainly through the exchange of discursive acts that a
final consensus is reached, the focus of the study is on the social practice of
deliberation or argumentation, rather than the social actors themselves.
Tiempo de Silencio Essay
The context in which Tiempo de Silencio was published, as well as the setting and
themes of the book seem to reflect the official censorship that existed in Spain at the
time. However, if one reads the novel from a philosophical instead of sociological
perspective then the influence of censorship could be viewed as secondary to the
purpose and themes of the text.
Luis MartГn Santos novel Tiempo de Silencio was written and published during the
time of Franco s regime, and because of this, as one would expect, the book reflects
the climate of the time. In fact the difficulty that the author encountered in his attempt
to publish the book is the first reflection of the censorship of the era; although the
novel was finished in 1960 it was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course the content of the book is also critical; right from the very start one can see
criticism within the text. In the first scene of the novel in the laboratory in which
Pedro and Amador discuss the problem that they will have in obtaining more mice
there is a scathing criticism. Although not direct, this criticism used comparison In
order to make a negative comment about Spain, the two scientists having realised that
their best option for obtaining more mice is to go to the chabolas where a man has
some stolen mice makes comment on the fact that in Illinois in the United States, the
place that the mice originate from, no scientist would have to go to such lengths to
obtain them:

How Are Humans Able To Lead Essay
Lead is a natural element that can be found throughout our environment and in small
amounts in the Earth s crust (Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2016). Lead is
a corrosion resistant, malleable, bluish white metal that has been used throughout
history. The Romans, for example, used lead to fashion pots for cooking, water pipes,
and aqueducts (International LeadAssociation, 2016a). In today s world lead is
used to protect underwater cables from corrosion and provides excellent protection
from radiation due to its high density. Currently, it is used in hospitals and dentists
offices to provide protection from X ray radiation. Lead acid batteries are
commonly used to store energy from wind turbines, solar panels for later use. These
batteries are also used to power our cars and trucks and provide power for hospitals
and emergency services during blackouts (International Lead Association, 2016b).
Lead acid batteries are the primary use of lead in the United States (Occupational
Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], n.d.).

Using dishware that has lead in it can also expose adults, and children for that
matter, to lead. Construction workers may come into contact with lead when they
are renovating or demolishing older houses that have lead based paints. It is also
important to note that adults and children may become exposed to lead when they
eat wildlife killed with lead ammunition. Adults with elevated levels of lead in their
blood may experience hypertension, reproductive issues, and decreased kidney
function (EPA, 2016). Pregnant women who are exposed to lead may experience
premature birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, or even deformities of their babies (WHO,

three main parts to this wonderful journey, it begins with the drive, then the actual
concert, and finally the drive back, which were all equally entertaining (in my
opinion). It was an outdoor concert, but I would have preferred an indoor concert
because functioning bathrooms are really important to me, but I did not complain.
My sister and I anticipated the day we would leave to see the wonderful Maine we
had heard so much about from our father. All we had to do, was wait. The day
arrived sooner than expected, and my father booked us a flight to Boston,
Massachusetts. Prior to our departure, I had always thought that Boston was
located in Maine (I do not know anything about geography), but I soon learned it
was not, thanks to my father, and sister constantly making fun of my poor
geography skills. We then left on September 3rd, for an airport in Boston. My
father had to drive us the rest of the way up to Maine, from the airport (and boy, was
that an adventure). We took a detour on the way up, and stopped at a recommended
place from my father, called Newbury Comics. Being
Thief Zusak s Roles In The Book Thief
Understanding the roles of the archetypes can help us to sympathise with the
characters and evaluate the roles they play in the story. These roles also contribute to
the way Zusak represents good and evil in the novel. The role of the scapegoat can be
reflected onto many characters in the book thief, and understanding how it
contributes to the story can help us to be sympathetic and understanding towards
certain characters.
Max s identity as a jew often causes him to take the blame for many of societies
problems, as well as issues that appear in The Book Thief. German society at the
time generally blamed lots of their problems on Jews, which lowered their ranks in
German society and made it harder for them to live. An example of this in the ... Show

However, in The Book Thief Zusak represents death as a tormented being who is
forced into taking the souls of humans away from their loved ones, which helps
Zusak to present Death as a character with good intentions, despite the prejudice
placed on his character. The idea of death causes him to be blamed for the actual
Death of people, whereas Death explains that it is actually humans who are usually
at fault for deaths. You want to know what I truly look like? I ll help you out. Find
yourself a mirror while I continue. (pg. 329) The essence of Death that Zusak
presents in The Book Thief is that of a tormented, aching being who is haunted by
his daily whereabouts, but in human culture death is viewed as a very cruel being
and his feelings or thoughts aren t really considered. Please, trust me. I most
definately can be cheerful. I can amiable. Agreeable. Affable, And that s only the A

even feels regretful towards some of the humans he must take. A small

Australian Heritage
Heritage buildings, structures and places reflect the history of a city, the unique
architecture. While Australia cannot does not have buildings which have stood for
centuries, the collection of buildings and places of special significance tell a story of
where we came from, what we as a city have achieved, who we are as a society and
our cultural expectations. The importance of heritage in our built environment is well
recognised; heritage buildings may be significant for aesthetic, historic social,
spiritual or technical reasons, (The Australian Institute of Architects, 2008#).
Architects convey a vision, providing an opportunity to create a reality; this is vital in
the integration of heritage conservation and urban development.

A question often arises as to whether zoning and heritage are mutually exclusive
issues or must be considered together
So the zoning of a site cannot be given little weight, or ignored, even where the site
is listed as a heritage item or located within a heritage conservation area. However,
having said that, the zoning does not give the developer the right to develop where
heritage is an issue. They are historical records, that are important expressions of
Australian identity and experience. Places of cultural significance reflect the
diversity of our communities, telling us about who we are and the past that has
formed us and the Australian landscape. They are irreplaceable and precious

The resolution disappointed consumer rights groups and Google rivals such as
Microsoft, which had lodged complaints with regulators in the hope of legal action
that would split up or at least hobble the internet s most powerful company.
(Timberg, 2001) Evil Monopoly A monopoly is an aristocratic domination of a
specific product or service by one essence. It usually associates with a control by a
business organization. A classic example of a monopoly would be Microsoft.
Oligopoly is a relevant term in which a product or service is managed by a small
group of large business organizations. Generally, economists come to the same
agreement that monopoly is in fact corrupting and damaging. A monopoly weakens
the free market moderation which in turn leads to a crippled economy. This is how
the progress for capitalism is supported. The outcomes of oligopolies can turn out the
same way but since there is a small group of large corporations, the competition is the
key to preventing the disadvantages that can easily happen under monopolistic
control. Monopoly opens doors wide for anti competitive practices.
Price gouging is one of such practices. If there is not

Muhammad SAW solved this problem. They put the Black Stone in the middle of
the cloth each person carried one corner of the cloth and put it in the right place.
Prophet Muhammad SAW was fair because he let everybody who wanted to carry
the Black Stone, carry it and put it in the right place.
Prophet Muhammad SAW is also very brave. One day there was a big bang in
Madinah. A rock hit from the sky. This was in the middle of the night and for the
people living there, this was scary because they never heard of big bangs. But
Prophet Muhammad SAW being the brave man that he is, went riding on a horse
without a saddle to see what had happened. He came back and told the people that
everything was ok.
Prophet Muhammad SAW was VERY trustworthy. One day people from his village
went to his house to kill him (because they hated his message). When they entered his
home to kill him, they found Prophet Muhammad SAW cousin, Ali RA. Prophet
Muhammad SAW left Ali RA when he escaped for one reason and one reason only.

Tree Nuts Lab
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to identify which tree nut of the 4 that were
tested (hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, and almonds) had the highest energy content.
Hypothesis
If different tree nuts are tested for their energy content then the tree nuts with the
highest amount of oil on its exterior (shell) will have the greater energy content, this
is because the tree nuts with the greater oil content will catch fire at a quicker pace
than the tree nuts with a smaller oil amount on their outer shell.

Calorimetry is connected to food which plays a major role in people s daily
routine/procedure and their health. A lot of people usually check the calorie
content in their food on a daily basis in order to assure themselves that they are
eating the right amount in order for them to lead a healthy life and stay in shape.
Something that not all people know though is a calorie is a unit of energy. And
calorimetry is what is used to let us know the energy content that is within a
certain food. Without calorimetry people would really have no idea how much
they are taking in. Also many people would most likely be living a way unhealthier
life if calorimetry wasn t used, this is because people would not know how to
balance out their diet with exercise. Also they would probably be eating a larger
amount of super unhealthy foods, this is due to the fact that many people like the
taste of fatty, calorie high foods that are not really good for you and if they didn t
know the amount of calories inside of those foods than a lot of people wouldn t
even think twice about choosing between a cookie or a carrot. More likely than
unlikely people would choose the cookie over the carrot. So to wrap this all up into
one point calorimetry allows people to live healthier lifestyle than they probably
would without it

Christian Louboutin s featured product is high heels with red soles. The red color,
Pantone 18 1663 TX, was chosen because red means love, passion, and blood. The
red soles are also protected as a trademark in several countries. All of his shoe
products have red soles, regardless if they are products for men or women. In
addition to shoes, Christian Louboutin has a handbag and cosmetic line that
encompass the trademarked sky high heels and red soles. His handbags have the red
color in the linings of the bags and they rest upon a pedestal of 4 mini metal heels, so
that it may never touches the floor. From the cosmetic line, Louboutin introduced nail
polishes within bottles that are shaped like heels. The bottles are 8 inches in height,
and replicate the tallest heel Christian Louboutin ever created, the Ballerina Ultima.
Christian Louboutin has been offered other deals outside of shoes, handbags, and

Historical Documents Affect Me Today
It seems like in today s day and age, most historical documents are looked over,
blatantly ignored. Many people are misinformed of what they are meant to be and
what the meaning is behind them. After I received my summer assignment, I asked
my father if we could go to the National Archives Museum and learn more about
what I d be writing an essay about. He replied, Of course. While I was there, I
thought about how they affect me today. Would I not have my freedom? Would I be
under British Parliament, a country almost five thousand miles away? Would my
family not be able to have religious freedom of being Christian Jewish? To think of
an overpowering government today is strange. Some people already believe that our
government is too powerful,

The planet Mercury is very difficult to study from the Earth because of its proximity
to the Sun.
It is the second smallest planet (it was believed to be the smallest until the discovery
that Pluto is actually much smaller than originally thought), and also the fastest in its
orbit since it is the innermost planet.

Edith Wharton s The Age Of Innocence
What is wonderful about great literature is that it transforms the man who reads it
towards the condition of the man who wrote (E.M. Forster). Many authors write in
order to express their deepest thoughts and experiences to their audience; when the
thoughts and experiences can be continuously related to the reader throughout any
time period, it becomes a classic. This is exactly how Edith Wharton s The Age of
Innocencehas been brought about as a classic and is still relevant to people today.
Wharton s work reveals multiple unique perspectives to people through the
development of her characters in her specific writingstyle.

Although the book is not semi biographical, she did incorporate some components
of her life to connect with her readers. For instance, the time period the book is set
in is 1870s, which is around the time that she was in her teenage years. She grew up
in the upper class and lived in Europe for a period of time during her childhood, as
well as New York later in her life, which allowed her to be knowledgeable about the
setting of the novel. She incorporated her feelings towards New York Society when
she gave some advice to Ellen Olenska through Mr. Letterblair, Ellen s lawyer
based on the comparison of New York to Europe, New York Society is a very small
world compared with the one you ve lived in. And it s ruled, in spite of
appearances, by few people with well, rather old fashioned ideas (Wharton 91).
Through Mr. Letterblair s quote, it is apparent that Wharton did not hold fond
memories or feelings toward the society that she grew up in. She wrote about the
privileges of growing up in the upper class through a description of Newland, In
matters intellectual and artistic Newland Archer felt himself distinctly the superior
of these chosen specimens of old New York gentility; he had probably read more,
thought more, and even seen a good deal more of the world, than any other man of
the number (Wharton 9). This description of the protagonist illustrates how rich,
well traveled and knowledgeable he is due to growing up within a wealthy family,
much like her own. She wrote about the unhappy marriage between Newland and
May most likely due to her failed engagement with one man and later failed marriage
to another. Edith Wharton also wrote about the social standard for women and how
they barely played a role in society at the time which is illustrated through the actions
of May Welland. The diction is varied to match the characters and their personalities,

The Harlem Renaissance

Introduction Harlem Renaissance, an African American cultural movement of the
1920s and early 1930s that was centered in the Harlem neighborhood of New York
City. According to Wintz:
The Harlem Renaissance was variously known as the New Negro movement, the
New Negro Renaissance, and the Negro Renaissance, the movement emerged toward
the end of World War I in 1918, blossomed in the mid to late 1920s, and then
withered in the mid 1930s. The Harlem Renaissance marked the first time mainstream

In the early 1920s, three works signaled the new creative energy in African
American literature. McKay s volume of poetry, Harlem Shadows (1922), became
one of the first works by a black writer to be published by a mainstream, national
publisher (Harcourt, Brace and Company). Cane (1923), by Jean Toomer, was an
experimental novel that combined poetry and prose in documenting the life of
American blacks in the rural South and urban North (Andrews 4). Finally, There Is
Confusion (1924), the first novel by writer and Editor Jessie Fauset, depicted middle
class life among black Americans from a woman s perspective (Andrews 4).
According to Bassett, these early works as the foundation and three events between
1924 and 1926 launched the Harlem Renaissance.
First, on March 21, 1924, Charles S. Johnson of the National Urban League hosted
a dinner to recognize the new literary talent in the black community and to
introduce the young writers to New York s white literary establishment. The
National Urban League was founded in 1910 to help black Americans address the
economic and social problems they encountered as they resettled in the urban North
. Because of this dinner, The Survey Graphic, a magazine of social analysis and
criticism that was interested in cultural pluralism, produced a Harlem issue in
March 1925. Devoted to defining the artistic ness of black literature and art, the
Harlem issue featured work by black writers and was edited by black

reasoned and satisfies the objectives you laid out in the introduction. If it does not,
you must be careful to explain why it does not, and what still needs to be learned on
this subject to adequately fulfill the promise of the introduction. Failure is perfectly
acceptable, as long as it was an honest effort and one that has led to a deeper
understanding of the subject.
With an eye to the four points above, the paper will be graded roughly as follows: *

content * 20% for grammar and style.
It will take me one week to read your papers and to respond with comments. You will

We now live in an innovative world where dull assignments can be performed with
no sweat. PCs and programming can do the majority of our work, whether it s

room for mistakes, make this sort of innovation speaking to organizations also. There
are a few routes in which a mechanized framework for time following can help firms
turn out to be more profitable.
Disadvantages to maintaining a manual timesheet system
With a manual procedure, human asset administration implies keeping monstrous
measures of paper based job and timesheet information documents on each of your
workers (McClure Croft, 2012). Keeping up these sorts of records can be both
tedious and wasteful and turns out to be particularly awkward when key job data is
asked for by chiefs or finance staff. The HR individual dealing with the documents of
the greater part of the dynamic and nonnative workers in the association turns into a
bottleneck to other divisions entrance to data that ought to have the capacity to be

Scribal Education and Literacy in Ancient Israel Essay
There has been much debate among researchers about the presence of formal
education in Ancient Israel. There are scholars who believe the development of the
linear alphabet led to widespread literacy in Ancient Israel and other parts of the Near
East. However, there are others who believe, that while the linear alphabetwas less
extensive than the previously, pictographic texts used by the Phoenicians and
Egyptians, there was still a learning curve which would have taken more than just a
few days to learn. Even if it was possible to learn the alphabet in a few days and even
be able to read shortly thereafter, it did not necessarily mean a person could write.

discusses the research done by many scholars tackling the issue of literacy and
formalized education in Ancient Israel. He discusses both those who have done
primarily Biblical research for evidence of literacy and education as well as
scholars who have looked at both Biblical and archaeological evidence. This article
is extremely useful in letting people know what research has been done on this topic.
He discusses the research of Jamieson Drake, Susan Niditch, Simon Parker, Philip

First Schniedewind discusses Jamieson Drakes contributions to scribal education.
Jamieson Drake focuses on the physical mechanisms of schools and scribes.
(Schniedewind 328) Jamieson Drake studied settlement patterns of people in Judah as
well as the production of goods and the development of central administration and
monarchy. Jamieson believes that scribal schools correlate with centralized
administrative control, social stratification, and trade specialization. (Schniedewind
327) Literacy, at least reading and writing was developed because of trade and the
need to record what had been traded between individuals and groups. Writing would
have also been a way to control trade if scribal schools were under control of the
monarchy in Judah. Jamieson believes scribal education
A Comparison OfThe Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
Introduction
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fiction in which one of the main
characters, the sturdy lion Aslan, has the most power and authority. There are tons of
images of Aslan from the book and the movie that relate to Jesus in Bible. The most
outstanding images are the death of Aslan on top of the stone table which represents
the crucifixion of Jesus, Aslan s rebirth which is similar to the Resurrection of Jesus,
and Aslan s offering the stone statues life just as the figure of God made everything.
Shortly, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobeincludes a number of biblical images
that are the details from the Bible which were reflected by the book and the movie.
Sacrifice
First of all, the death of Aslan takes the place of Edmund s death, who is the
betrayed his siblings. Jesus is the sinless man, therefore he can atone for others
who all are sinners(Timothy 2:6). That is exactly what Aslan did to Edmund, who
was supposed to die on the stone table. Without Aslan s help, Edmund would have
never finished his reverse, have noticed his mistake, got along with his siblings, or
have be able to stand for justice. That is how essential the role Aslan plays is.
Conspicuously, he knows that the White Witch killed Edmund for his betory. Aslan
would never let Edmund die, not only because he loves him and wants save him, but
also because he knows that deeper magic from its origin. Just like Jesus ransomed
himself in order to save thousands, Aslan loves everyone,
Gothic Literature and the Writings of Edgar Allan Poe
Essays
There is one known very influential writing style called Gothic Literature. It is not
only considered to involve the horror or gothic element but is combined with
romance, superstition, women in distress, omens, portents, vision and supernatural
events to name a few (Beesly). The history and beginning of this era is not well
known. From a few writers came this writing style that has impacted the world. A
famous artists known for this type of writing is a man named Edgar Allan Poe. He
wrote many short stories and poems that include horror, gothic, and romance just
mentioned. Gothic Tradition was said to have started in Europe. Gothicism came
from the Romanticism in the early 19th century (Book Rags). Two people who are

The Fall of the House of Usher is a story of sickness, madness, incest, and the
danger of unrestrained creativity. This is among Poe s most popular and critically
examined horror stories (Gordon). For example if you were to close your eyes
while someone was reading the story you would see the house decaying in your
imagination (Poe). From the start of the story the narrator s strange insufferable
gloom is introduced. He notes the darkness of his surrounding (Gordon). The
stories are very deeply described and felt. The next popular theme Poe uses in his
writing is romance. This is very general for all gothic writers. This theme was
actually a movement called The Romantic movement (Foster). This first began
around the end of the 18th century in Western Europe (Foster). This was
characterized by the emphasis on emotion, passion, and the natural world (Foster).
This writing style was known in the United Stated because of the works that Poe
did. One of his most famous works was a poem called Annabelle Lee . The poem
was about his wife who died of tuberculosis. She was only thirteen when she and
Edgar got married. In the poem the speaker argues about how the angels were
jealous of a happy couple, The envious Angels, he insists, caused the wind to chill
his bride and seize her life . He then goes on to describe how the love the couple
share is everlasting and unbreakable. The reader depicts images of purity, innocence
An Approach Into Los Angeles International Airport
On February 1st, 1991 USAir Flight 1493 (USA 1493), a Boeing 737 300 (B 737),
was on an approach into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as part of a
scheduled stop prior to completing its journey to San Francisco. USA 1493 was
piloted by Captain Colin Shaw who had over 16,000 flight hours and First Officer
David Kelly with over 4,000 total flight hours. Meanwhile on the ground at LAX,
SkyWest AirlinesFlight 5569 (Skywest 5569), a Fairchild Metroliner, had just
executed its clearance to taxi to Runway24L from Gate 32 given by the local
controller (LC2) in the LAX tower, and was holding short (NTSB, 1991, p. 5). It
was now 6:03PM, about 40 minutes after Sunset, with a cloud deck at 30,000 feet
and 15 miles of visibility (NTSB,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the nose began to lower the two pilots of USA 1493 immediately saw
Skywest 5569 sitting on the runway and applied the brakes, but there was no time.
At 6:07PM USA 1493 slammed into Skywest 5569, crippling the nose gear of the B
737 and igniting an explosion that resulted in the two aircraft skidding off the left
side of the runway and slamming into an unoccupied fire station. 64 passengers, 3
cabin crewmembers, and the First Officer successfully evacuated the burning B 737
(NTSB, 1991, p. 8).
Investigation
During the investigation, NTSB investigators processed and analyzed voice
recordings, toxicology results, conducted meteorological, site surveys and reviewed
shift logs as well as airline and airport operating procedures. The voice recordings
and operating procedures were the most vital in understanding the diminished
situational awareness that took place that day. USA 1493 s FDR and the ATC
radio recordings were successfully recovered and would help investigators
determine exactly what went wrong on February 1st, 1991 as well as the
workload experienced by both pilots and controllers. The captain and crew of USA
1493 were fully qualified and fully staffed for the flight. Witnesses who saw the
crew beforehand stated that they appeared to be well rested. The exact same was
true for Skywest 5569. The controller for 1493 and 5569 had a total
Computers Are A Necessary Part Of Our Lives Day Essay
Computers are indeed a necessary part of our lives day in and out. Some of us
need to face them all day, others spend only a few hours or less. Nevertheless it is
undeniable all of us get to a certain point in time where our eyes feel the strain of
using it. How can we avoid computer eyestrain? Here are a few pointers to help our
eyes stay healthy. Break up the time we spend on the computer. For those that need to
spend hours at a time on the computer, the degree of eyestrain often correlates with
the length of usage of the computer. Taking a very short break after 30 minutes e.g.
even if only for 1 minute will help to reduce the fatigue. Use eye lubricants when
necessary. When using the computer, most of us stare at the screens because we
are concentrating on something, This reduces the blink rate and results in dry
eyes. For some, just resting the eyes by closing it for a short period helps to get
our eyes sufficiently moist again, however some people s eyes are so dry that they
need regular lubricants to alleviate the symptoms. Use eye lubricants that are
recommended by your doctor. Do not get into the habit of using steroidal based
eyes or eyedrops that cause vessel constriction (giving the false security of having
white eyes) as these can cause future unwanted side effects such as glaucoma. When
using lubricants, those with severe dry eyes should use it on a regular basis rather
than waiting for their eyes to feel pain or discomfort first. Relax

The Gig Economy
Across the world vast majorities of workers are undergoing a series of major
employment cataclysms. The deindustrialisation of the major western economies
over the past thirty years has stimulated the emergence of new economic
powerhouses, the global influence of neo liberalism, and the associated
transformation of the capital labour contract, of which have all radically altered and
shaped employment across the industrial world (Saad Filho, 2002). In the context of
these pro capitalist dynamics, work as a whole is undergoing further transformation
as jobs are now veering away from traditional employment models in favour of neo
liberal organisational systems (Bellucci, 2015). Unfortunately, such significant
changes in international industrial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many employees, especially those of Generation Y, are uninterested and
dissatisfied with the traditional 9am 5pm Monday to Friday work routine and
exhibit an increasing need for flexible and diversified work (Friedman, 2014).
Others, unable to secure full time employment in the continuously challenging
labour market, have turned to freelance work out of necessity. Regardless of the
motivation behind freelance work, it is indubitable that this mode of work is
rapidly growing in conjunction with the emergence of digital freelance
marketplaces. Employees are progressively reshaping their careers with these
opportunities by working on a task by task basis for different employers
concurrently, a trend that has been termed the gig economy (Friedman, 2014). The
Ernst Young (2016) report states that globalisation and the fallout from the financial
crisis are fuelling the gig economy , with a 66% increase of contingent/freelance
workers in the past 10 years (Storey, Steadman David, 2016). As of early 2015, 4.1
million Australians were recognised as part of the Australian gig economy which
made up 32% of the Australian workforce (Storey, Steadman David,

Constantin Stanislavski s Framework
Stanislavski s framework is a movement of methods used to prepare on screen
characters and on screen characters to attract credible feelings to their exhibitions.
The strategy that was initially made and utilized by Constantin Stanislavski from
1911 to 1916 was in view of the idea of enthusiastic memory for which a performer
concentrates inside to depict a character s feelings in front of an audience. Later,
somewhere around 1934 and 1938, this strategy developed to a strategy for physical
activities in which feelings are delivered through the utilization of these actions. The
recent procedure is alluded to as Stanislavski s framework. This methodology was

It has been recommended that Strasberg had admittance around then just to A

Inclusion and exclusion criteria: inclusion and exclusion criteria are designed to
optimal validity of the study. In this study, the authors did not distinctly mention to
these criteria. However, based on their selection for isolation and culture of canine
ABMCs and canine model of spinal cord injury, I assume that their inclusion criteria
included age, breed, gender, and weight of dogs. On the other hand, the exclusion
criteria included those that did not fit into these criteria. These criteria designed to
limit selection and confounding biases, which could potentially undermine the
validity of the study. Sample size calculation or justification: the authors did not
explain why they chose sixteen dogs for this study. I assume that the sample size of
sixteen dogs (n=16) for large mammalian model is an appropriate size. However, it
would be prudent if the investigators had explained this question. Generally
speaking, sample size is very important concept in any study because the conclusion
authors present would be reasonable on the basis of the accumulated data. For
example, if sample size is too small, the difference between control and treatment
groups may not become significant, while there is a significant difference. I believe
that the sample size was appropriate since they used only one species, which had
similar physiological and anatomical features. Moreover, the study conducted

  • 1. Stress Essays Writing an essay on the topic of stress is, ironically, a task that can induce its own set of challenges. Addressing such a complex and multifaceted subject requires a delicate balance between personal insights, scientific research, and an empathetic understanding of the human experience. The difficulty lies not only in articulating the physiological and psychological aspects of stress but also in navigating the subjective nature of stressors, as they vary widely from person to person. One must delve into the realms of psychology, neurobiology, sociology, and even philosophy to provide a comprehensive view. It involves sifting through a vast array of research papers, scholarly articles, and personal narratives to construct an informed and nuanced perspective. Additionally, weaving together these disparate threads into a coherent and engaging narrative requires a keen sense of organization and a mastery of language. Moreover, the essay should not merely be an academic exercise but a piece that resonates with the reader on a personal level. This demands a delicate balance between relaying factual information and connecting emotionally with the audience. Striking this balance becomes even more challenging when considering the sensitivity of the topic – stress is an experience that many individuals grapple with daily, and the essay must be mindful of the potential impact on the reader's own stress levels. As a writer, introspection becomes a crucial part of the process. Articulating one's thoughts on stress requires a level of self-awareness that may, in itself, be a confronting endeavor. It involves navigating one's own experiences and finding the right words to express the often ineffable aspects of stress. In conclusion, crafting an essay on stress necessitates a nuanced understanding of the topic, a comprehensive exploration of various disciplines, a delicate balance between facts and emotions, and a willingness to introspect. It is, undeniably, a challenging task that demands both intellectual rigor and emotional intelligence. For those seeking assistance or a shortcut through this intricate process, it's worth noting that similar essays and more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where professionals are ready to aid in expressing the complexities of stress and related topics. • 2. The Fashion Industry In The Devil Wears Prada It can be said that the Fashion industry is not for everyone, especially Anne Hathaway s character in the 2006 Film The Devil Wears Prada. The fashion industry is one of the hardest business to work in and this film shows it. The fashion Industry takes a lot of time, money, dedication, and uses lots of resources that Anne Hathaways role, Andy Sachs learns quickly. As coming out of Northwestern College as a journalist she lands a job with the magazine Runway as their junior Assistant for the head editor and chef Miranda Priestly, who is played by the wonderful Meryl Streep. Miranda could be described as strict, stern, demanding, and a overall perfectionist. However, by the end of dealing with Mirandas demands for a year Andy can only hope she will score a job as a reporter or writer else where, so the question is will she do it? When Andy begins her job as the junior assistant you can definitely see that she struggles a lot. Andy walking in had no sense of style, had no knowledge of what Runway Magazine was, and also had no idea that many people had wanted her position at this company. In fact the first day that Andy arrives at runway magazines home office she is absolutely appalled. Emily Charlton, Miranda s Senior assistant was supposed to interview Andy, but unfortunately as soon as Andy and Emily sat down to chat the phone had rang. It was Mirandas driver stating that they were outside and to prepare. With the look of madness in Emily s eyes you could see that

Pharma operated majorly in four areas namely analgesics and antirheumatics (23% of sales) not excluding Voltaren, cardiovascular products (30%) with the inclusion of beta blockers, drugs for treating epilepsy and antidepressants (15%) and antibiotics together with other drugs. Pharma also included OTC drugs, a contact lens business, and a servipharm division specifically operating to meet the demands of the developing countries. Even though the pharmaceutical industry had been highly profitable and contributed about 40% OF Ciba Geigy s revenues in profit, there were some trends, which were worrying. The government had attempted to reduce a cost of healthcare thus; pressure to lower costs was mounting on industrialized countries. There were restrictions to introduce new products, and price control became stricter while limiting the freedom of doctors to prescribe medications. Patent controls were becoming reduced, and the pharmaceutical industry was becoming increasingly criticized. These trends later made the industry to

Within all of these jobs you will find that accountability is very important. You will also find that within keeping accountability you will not succeed. Accountability is knowing the amount of items or people in which you are responsible for. Accountability is also knowing where the items and people are at all times. While knowing where everything and everyone is, you also need to keep record of everything. All the aspects of accountability are important because without it things would be in chaos. If you lose this gear you will end up paying for it. This gear isn t cheap so having accountability is important. If you are the one issuing out the gear you need to make sure it gets returned when it needs to. This means keeping signatures on file. Also, keeping accountability of everything you have. When you are doing inventory on your gear you will know if something is missing if the numbers don t add up. That is one time that keeping record of things will come in handy. You can look back to see if someone issued it out and who it was. Another time that keeping everything on record will be when someone tries to say they returned there gear but yet you do not have it. You can go back and make sure they signed their name when they brought the gear back. If they did, it will end up being your loss. If they did not, it will end up being there loss. • 7. Analysis Of Diana George s Changing The Face Of Poverty In Diana Georges Changing the Face of Poverty , she uses various examples of ads, brands, and organizations to show that the way poverty is portrayed has corrupted the understanding Americans have on poverty and what it really is. I agree with Diana George s statement that the impression of poverty through visual imagery is distorted. Her essay examines many aspects of the misrepresentation of poverty. Society believes that they are doing more than what is actually being accomplished. The effect of her explanation allows for the audience to alter their opinion on the true image of poverty. Her use of real organizations within the community strengthens her approach. In her writing, George examines how certain organizations, such as the Habitat for Humanity that aim to eliminate poverty may be working against themselves by the way they choose to show the problem. The visual representation that the organization gives reflect the understanding that most Americans have when it comes to what poverty really is. Showing the typical shacks, dirt, and black and white photos will alter a person s mindset on poverty and cause them to not be able to recognize themselves in that situation. In reality, the poverty in countries like Africa are no different than the poverty we have in America. Georges writing gives examples of how Americans within our society are not motivated to help people as compared to other countries. All the sources she uses in her analysis are representing

While the brand ambassadors are obviously scared of talking given the possibility of being dragged into a legal imbroglio, there s literally no face to the campaign at the time of going to print. Sourav Ray, chief strategy officer, Havas observes, I would have expected the leadership team to have come out and taken ownership of this problem. Communication strategy of Nestle was quite ineffective in the wake of the disaster as the authorities and the Headquarters took a long time in responding to the claims of Nestle being pulled off the shelves. If the strategy would have been clear the media fiasco Nestle got embroiled into could have been easily avoided. Recommendations Nestle should take cue from Cadbury and cola giants who have had troubles of their own in the Indian market but with clear communication strategy were able to get themselves back on their feet and their cases may still remain only for academic
  • 9. Discuss Athletics as a Pre-Industrial Popular Recreation... Athletics had relative importance in pre industrial Britain mostly taking place at traditional fairs and festivals. For example a wake was seen as a great social occasion whereby mainly the lower class men would compete in events such as stick fighting, running, climbing a greasy pole and wrestling. These activities were seen as athletic events and were an opportunity for the lower class men to show off their power and strength to the women. There were a number of purpose build specialist tracks by the end of the 1850s, which lead to an increase in the number of competitions that took place. These competitions would often have extremely large amounts of spectators of up to 20,000, helped by the improvements in transport such as the railways. Wagering of pre industrial Britain was replaced with a more sophisticated type of gambling whereby people would bet on the winners of each race. Athletics as a rational recreation involved both the upper and lower classes. The upper and new middle classes were generally amateurs and would compete for the enjoyment and ability to show off to friends whereas the working class would become professionals and ran to make money. However the ex university gentleman did not want to compete against professionals and founded the Amateur Athletics Club in 1866 in order to exclude the working class professionals from competing against them. In 1880 the Amateur Athletics Association was formed which then recognized all areas of society, and therefore the exclusion clause was

For example, Korean drama considers family oriented stories in which father has the power in the family, and other members of family usually defer to him. However, in Western society, parents cultivate their child to be more creative, and give them more freedom to choose their future education and career. Recently, he is best known for directing Jumanji and Captain America; The First Avenger. Droids C3PO and R2D2 look out the window of a space ship. Repeating circular shapes balance the composition while drawing the viewer into the scene through framing the window. The focal point of the image is the window. Using the scale of the moon and details of the surface of the planet, it was successfully communicated how far the ship was from the ground. This sequence could have easily been shot straightforward and would lack any excitement or dynamic. Johnston successfully create an interesting sequence through varying the camera height and angle throughout the decent. The light colored Millennium Falcon is always overlapping with some part of the dark void of space in each frame, causing it to be the focal point of all shots. The texture of the planet becomes more recognizable as the ship moves closer to the surface, communicating the changing distance between the ship and the planet. In addition to lack of surface detail in the first 4 frames, the shape repetition changes from circular to organic and abstract. This is a successful sequence due to the use of shape, value, and detail to communicate to the viewer the story of the Millennium Falcon landing on a planet. Two different sequences of two frames each, use similar techniques to communication the story. Both sequences use the framing element of foreground environment and foreground figures to push focus to what characters are looking at in the middle and backgrounds. In the top set, the figures are looking at the vehicle in the bottom right corner of the first panel. The camera is then taken closer to the vehicle to introduce the character driving it; Luke Skywalker, the

  • 14. Reflection Of Group Development To begin, the very first part of group development but also the class, was to form a group that you would work with throughout the whole semester. The class discussed ways to assign group members, but ultimately, the decision was to let students pick their groups. In all honesty, I was not fond of this idea, but I selected my group. I began by wanting one of the two boys in my group, because I wanted a male s perspective throughout the project. I decidedI wanted to work with Adam because I had witnessed him ask challenging questions and succeed in debates with previous professors, all characteristics I thought could be beneficial at the time. With choosing Adam came Matt, because since they were the only two males in a lecture dominated by females. Lastly, Alex decided she wanted to work with me because we had a previous class together and she stated she liked the way I handled myself within that lecture. Once the group was all in agreeance to work together, we began to take part in small talk, such as, how old we were, what we were studying, but mainly that we were all determined to get a high grade in this class, a comment I had taken seriously at the time and thought was true of all members. When the class was eventually instructed to discuss topics that were of importance to us, there was no doubt that focusing on nontraditional students and their connection to campus life was going to be the topic we focused on because it was of such importance to Вѕ of our group.
  • 15. Analysis Of Santa Clause Is Coming To Town The song, Santa Claus is Coming to Town is a very happy and cheerful song that is played during the month of December to bring out the Christmas spirit in people. The history behind it is how two men got their big break and made one of the most played Christmas songs of all time. The song was originally written by John Frederick Coots and composed by Haven Gillespie on October 1933. Gillespie was in charge of expressing his gift of writing children s song lyrics while Coots came up with the tune that caught the attention of young children. The two came up with the song while riding a subway car in New York. The two men had a masterpiece in their hands, but needed someone to produce it. Many artists passed on the song because they didn t believe the it would hit big on the charts and would be difficult to sell, especially since it was a song for kids. Coots at the time was a writer for Eddie Cantor and tried to persuade him to sing the song live on his radio station. Cantor was undecided on whether to sing it, but his wife eventually convinced him to give the song a chance. He ended up performing it live on November 1934 on his radio station and brought huge publicity to the song. After it was aired on the radio station, the song blew up. People from all over were requesting to hear the song over and over again. It sold over 400,00 copies and 300,00 of those were sold within the first 24 hours. The song made the writers millionaires with hundreds of copies being sold. It

Instead of privileging literary texts or explicitly political discourse, uttered at the higher levels of society, grassroots level discourse will be given all the attention it deserves as the result of political interaction and the emphasis will be on language as it is used by all of the interactants in the context of the New Caledonian independence debate. The project aims to explore the relations between discourse, power and social interaction. Consequently, the audience of the political speeches, radio interviews or public letters, the recipients, equally deserve consideration, especially as a group that not only reacts to the discourse, but, at the same time, critically evaluates the argumentation and then responds to it. All of the groups involved make attempts at convincing the other groups of the validity of their propositions. Other analytical approaches to discourse that focus on the social aspects of dialoguing equally understand discourse to be a form of social interaction (van Dijk, 1985; Boden Zimmennan, 1991). Since it is mainly through the exchange of discursive acts that a final consensus is reached, the focus of the study is on the social practice of deliberation or argumentation, rather than the social actors themselves.

  • 19. How Are Humans Able To Lead Essay Lead is a natural element that can be found throughout our environment and in small amounts in the Earth s crust (Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2016). Lead is a corrosion resistant, malleable, bluish white metal that has been used throughout history. The Romans, for example, used lead to fashion pots for cooking, water pipes, and aqueducts (International LeadAssociation, 2016a). In today s world lead is used to protect underwater cables from corrosion and provides excellent protection from radiation due to its high density. Currently, it is used in hospitals and dentists offices to provide protection from X ray radiation. Lead acid batteries are commonly used to store energy from wind turbines, solar panels for later use. These batteries are also used to power our cars and trucks and provide power for hospitals and emergency services during blackouts (International Lead Association, 2016b). Although, both my sister, and father had seen many concerts before me (thank you my beloved family for leaving me alone with no form of entertainment, every time you left for a concert). We planned to see the band Blink182, one of my familys favorite punk rock bands, in Maine. There are three main parts to this wonderful journey, it begins with the drive, then the actual concert, and finally the drive back, which were all equally entertaining (in my opinion). It was an outdoor concert, but I would have preferred an indoor concert because functioning bathrooms are really important to me, but I did not complain. My sister and I anticipated the day we would leave to see the wonderful Maine we had heard so much about from our father. All we had to do, was wait. The day arrived sooner than expected, and my father booked us a flight to Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to our departure, I had always thought that Boston was located in Maine (I do not know anything about geography), but I soon learned it was not, thanks to my father, and sister constantly making fun of my poor geography skills. We then left on September 3rd, for an airport in Boston. My father had to drive us the rest of the way up to Maine, from the airport (and boy, was that an adventure). We took a detour on the way up, and stopped at a recommended place from my father, called Newbury Comics. Being

A classic example of a monopoly would be Microsoft. Oligopoly is a relevant term in which a product or service is managed by a small group of large business organizations. Generally, economists come to the same agreement that monopoly is in fact corrupting and damaging. A monopoly weakens the free market moderation which in turn leads to a crippled economy. This is how the progress for capitalism is supported. The outcomes of oligopolies can turn out the same way but since there is a small group of large corporations, the competition is the key to preventing the disadvantages that can easily happen under monopolistic control. A lot of people usually check the calorie content in their food on a daily basis in order to assure themselves that they are eating the right amount in order for them to lead a healthy life and stay in shape. Something that not all people know though is a calorie is a unit of energy. And calorimetry is what is used to let us know the energy content that is within a certain food. Without calorimetry people would really have no idea how much they are taking in. Also many people would most likely be living a way unhealthier life if calorimetry wasn t used, this is because people would not know how to balance out their diet with exercise. Also they would probably be eating a larger amount of super unhealthy foods, this is due to the fact that many people like the taste of fatty, calorie high foods that are not really good for you and if they didn t know the amount of calories inside of those foods than a lot of people wouldn t even think twice about choosing between a cookie or a carrot. More likely than unlikely people would choose the cookie over the carrot. So to wrap this all up into one point calorimetry allows people to live healthier lifestyle than they probably would without it

She grew up in the upper class and lived in Europe for a period of time during her childhood, as well as New York later in her life, which allowed her to be knowledgeable about the setting of the novel. She incorporated her feelings towards New York Society when she gave some advice to Ellen Olenska through Mr. Letterblair, Ellen s lawyer based on the comparison of New York to Europe, New York Society is a very small world compared with the one you ve lived in. And it s ruled, in spite of appearances, by few people with well, rather old fashioned ideas (Wharton 91). Through Mr. Letterblair s quote, it is apparent that Wharton did not hold fond memories or feelings toward the society that she grew up in. She wrote about the privileges of growing up in the upper class through a description of Newland, In matters intellectual and artistic Newland Archer felt himself distinctly the superior of these chosen specimens of old New York gentility; he had probably read more, thought more, and even seen a good deal more of the world, than any other man of the number (Wharton 9). This description of the protagonist illustrates how rich, well traveled and knowledgeable he is due to growing up within a wealthy family, much like her own. She wrote about the unhappy marriage between Newland and May most likely due to her failed engagement with one man and later failed marriage to another. This article is extremely useful in letting people know what research has been done on this topic. He discusses the research of Jamieson Drake, Susan Niditch, Simon Parker, Philip Davies, E.W. Heaton, and James Crenshaw. First Schniedewind discusses Jamieson Drakes contributions to scribal education. Jamieson Drake focuses on the physical mechanisms of schools and scribes. (Schniedewind 328) Jamieson Drake studied settlement patterns of people in Judah as well as the production of goods and the development of central administration and monarchy. Jamieson believes that scribal schools correlate with centralized administrative control, social stratification, and trade specialization. (Schniedewind 327) Literacy, at least reading and writing was developed because of trade and the need to record what had been traded between individuals and groups. Writing would have also been a way to control trade if scribal schools were under control of the monarchy in Judah. Jamieson believes scribal education

  • 42. Computers Are A Necessary Part Of Our Lives Day Essay Computers are indeed a necessary part of our lives day in and out. Some of us need to face them all day, others spend only a few hours or less. Nevertheless it is undeniable all of us get to a certain point in time where our eyes feel the strain of using it. How can we avoid computer eyestrain? Here are a few pointers to help our eyes stay healthy. Break up the time we spend on the computer. For those that need to spend hours at a time on the computer, the degree of eyestrain often correlates with the length of usage of the computer. Taking a very short break after 30 minutes e.g. even if only for 1 minute will help to reduce the fatigue. Use eye lubricants when necessary. When using the computer, most of us stare at the screens because we are concentrating on something, This reduces the blink rate and results in dry eyes. For some, just resting the eyes by closing it for a short period helps to get our eyes sufficiently moist again, however some people s eyes are so dry that they need regular lubricants to alleviate the symptoms. Use eye lubricants that are recommended by your doctor. Do not get into the habit of using steroidal based eyes or eyedrops that cause vessel constriction (giving the false security of having white eyes) as these can cause future unwanted side effects such as glaucoma. When using lubricants, those with severe dry eyes should use it on a regular basis rather than waiting for their eyes to feel pain or discomfort first. Relax
