The Connection Between Western Capitalism And Mexican...
Globalized Violence:
The Connection Between Western Capitalism and Mexican Femicide Globalization: a process of
interaction between the social, economic and political systems of different nations, a process powered
by international trade and investment. Some assert that globalization encourages the spread of more
enlightened and egalitarian Western values and international tolerance, while others believe that this
phenomenon harms more than it helps and fosters an uncontrolled and abusive economic environment.
There is no shortage of opinions on the matter, though one sure point of fact is that globalization
affects all aspects of modern life, including the murky world of gendered violence. Between the
signing of NAFTA in 1992 and the middle of 2002, just shy of three hundred blue collar female
factory workers were murdered in the border town of Juarez, Mexico. However, these numbers are
simply the tip of the iceberg when compared to the four hundred and fifty additional disappearances
during that decade, a grand total that is only increasing with each passing year. In short, these murders
eventually sparked international intrigue and distress, forcing the world to take a closer look at some
of the uglier consequences of globalization. Essentially, the femicides of Juarez are simply a symptom
of a patriarchal society unconcerned with the lives of its workforce, a culture that values products
more than the people who produce them: the overlapping timelines of the Juarez

Not Going To Church Research Paper
It s boring. That s the top ranked answer (42 percent) among reasons given by infrequent attenders and
non attenders for not going to church (Manners). This quotation proves that people don t go to church
because it simply doesn t hold their attention. 42 percent don t go because they think it s not fun and
lively. That needs to change! To make people come to church a person needs to know how to greet
people with hospitality, incorporate new things to the church, and have growth goals so the church can
thrive. To attract people it is important to welcome them with hospitality. To draw in people try
planning some out of church fun events. Invite everyone! Many might pick up on having fun with

Growing is important in any church. Youth bringing their friends to church is a great way to grow

Everyone should have one, invite the whole town! It is a great way to grow (Miller). At VBS there are

The Major Problems Of Population Overcrowding In Canada
Problems of Population Overcrowding
The day when population of GTA reach its maximum may be just around corner. Where and why are
people concentrated in GTA? Most people tend to live in cities rather than sub urban areas due to
amenities, job opportunities, infrastructure and educational facilities. Also, immigrants are the major
reason why the population overcrowded in cities. According to the Government of Ontario, over the
past
20 years, the target range of immigrants has been increased gradually. For example, the target range of
immigrants was 280,000 to 320,000 in 2017 and 260,000 to 285,000 in 2016. These numbers are
about
0.75 per cent of total population in Canada each year. (Ministry of Finance, 2007). These factors cause
population overcrowding in GTA and it may lead to several problems such as traffic jams, housing
bubbles and the rise in the homeless rate. These problems can be solved by moving infrastructure,
regulating using a car once a week and implementing training programs.
These days, some people believe that traffic jams occur more often than before. The Toronto
Transit System is slowing down due to heavy traffic. Statistics Canada stated that the number of
vehicles registered in the Control Vehicle System is 18,608,297 in 2005. But, in 2017, the number of
vehicles registered in Ontario is 11,948,296, which is almost two third of number in 2005. (Statistics
Canada, 2017).
People experience inconvenience everyday and are more at the risk of car accidents

The Jungle Analysis Paper
The Jungle Analysis Paper
America, by the turn of the twentieth century, was regarded as the Land of Opportunity, and lured
thousands of immigrants. The foreigners that fled to the United States were in search of new lives;
better lives. America was at the age of industrialization, and the economy was shifting from
agriculture to factories. There were jobs in the factories available to un skilled workers, which were
the majority of the immigrants. And industrialists had no problem finding a way to exploit the workers
lives.
The migration of Americans from farms to cities and the massive amount of immigration provided an
abundant supply of cheap labor. Industrialists saw no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were overly concerned with making profit; far more than the health of their workers. The
cheaper the labor cost and the cost of sustaining a clean atmosphere; the more profit the owners would
get. This led to a filthy and perilous working environment. The meat packing industry may have been
the worst. It had high productivity, but its condition declined to the point of being hazardous to both
the workers and consumers.
Upton Sinclair vividly depicts the harsh and hazardous conditions of the meat packing factories in his
novel, The Jungle:
There would be meat that had tumbled out on the floor, in the dirt and sawdust, where the workers had
tramped and spit uncounted billions of consumption germs. There would be meat stored in great piles
in rooms; and the water from leaky roofs would drip over it, and thousands of rats would race about
on it. It was too dark in these storage places to see well, but a man could run his hand over these piles
of meat and sweep off handfuls of the dried dung of rats. These rats were nuisances, and the packers
would put poisoned bread out for them; they would die, and then rats, bread and meat would go into
the hoppers together.
Sinclair s novel also depicts the hardships an immigrant family faced during this era. In The Jungle the
main character, Jurgis, learns that his wife, Ona, had been raped by one of her bosses,

Now we will focus on intermolecular forces. The Nature of Intermolecular Forces: The Intermolecular
Forces (forces between molecules) are weaker than Intramolecular Forces (The Chemical Bonds
within an Individual Molecule). This distinction is the reason we define the molecule in the first place.
The properties of matter result from the properties of the individual molecule (resulting from chemical
bonding) and how the molecules act collectively (resulting from intermolecular forces).
Intermolecular Forces are longest ranged (act strongly over a large distance) when they are
electrostatic. Interaction of Charge Monopoles (simple charges) is the longest ranged electrostatic
force. Charge Charge forces (found in ionic crystals) For like charges (+,+) or ( , ), this force is always
repulsive. For unlike charges (+, ), this force is always attractive. Charge Dipole Forces: An uncharged
molecule can still have an electric dipole moment. Electric Dipoles arise from opposite but equal
charges separated by a distance. Molecules that possess a dipole moment are called Polar molecules
(remember the polar covalent bond?). Water is polar and has a dipole moment of 1.85 Debye. The
Debye is a unit of dipole moment and has a value of 3.336 x 10 30 Coulomb meter. When salt is
dissolved in water, the ions of the salt dissociate from each other and associate with the dipole of the
water molecules. This results in a solution

No Mas Is A Dramatic Revenge Western
NO MAS is a dramatic, revenge Western. While Western revenge plots are very familiar, they are also
considered tried and true. What this script offers is a very engaging female protagonist. The script also
offers a unique hook: she s a skilled fighter. In fact, the idea of the mystery fighter, actually, sets this
script apart.
The opening establishes the ordinary world of the heroine, Rosette. Her world is shattered by the
murder of her parents and the disappearance of her brother. It s a solid inciting event. Her goal of
revenge is clear and the stakes are high.
The second act is driven by her need for retribution. The second act introduces her world of being a
fighter. The fighting scenes are strong and exciting.

She seems to be keeping him at a distance, but then suddenly appear to be good friends. It s not clear
how she figures out that he overdosed his wife.
To elevate the pace and the tension, one possible solution is to have Rosette find the other invaders
and show her killing them, one by one with her fighting skills, leaving Fitz as the last one. This is a
formula that has been done before, but it works to maintain tension and interest. It also builds
suspense. Right now, the tone could be grittier and the violence enhanced.
The other issue that feels unsolved is Rosette s brother. It s our understanding that she s still looking
for him, but at the end it doesn t feel as if she s going after him.
As mentioned, Rosette is a very likable heroine. It s easy to root for her. She makes some wrong
decisions, but they are for the right reasons. While flawed, the audience forgives her. She wants
justice, but she s driven by revenge at the risk of her life and she has forsaken any personal life for her
quest. She s smart and she s determined. She s still grieving and at the end, she seems to be healing.
Suspiros is a spirited woman, who immediately sees the good in Rosette and wants to help and rescue
her. She s also in a tough situation, but she has a positive attitude and makes the best of it. She s easy
to care about.

Pros And Cons Of Community Probation And Community...
Community corrections are programs which oversea offenders outside of jail or prison. Community
corrections include probation and parole. Probation is supervision within the community instead of jail
or prison. Parole is a dated time where parolees are supervised upon release from prison. Some
offenders are not dangerous to society. Their crimes do not warrant incarceration. The crimes are petty
offences and will not be placed in a general population in prison. If they are placed in a prison they
might be subject to gang raped, bullying, which will cost them to retaliate and possibly lock them into
a life of crime. Community corrections is cost effective. It is best to keep them in the community and

Though Chris Brown still have issues, probation has definitely helped him to turn his life around and
to think in a positive manner. He has a long way to go, but it is a working progress. Now he is more
into his music, and focused on staying out of trouble. In my opinion, instead of throwing offenders in
jail for crimes probation is a great remedy which has impacted many individuals for being
incarcerated. I think probation should be an option for minor crimes and should be more enforced
often. I think community correction is great program that should be implemented and required in all
states, thus allowing minor offender the opportunity to be reformed on the outside. I specifically
implored community conviction especially as related to juvenile. Often time juveniles are at the wrong
place at the wrong time unjustly prosecuted due to lack of family support and money. This service will
greatly impact juveniles in a poor community, and does

Argumentative Essay On Abolish The Penny
Pennies are one of America s oldest treasures, but what is ironic about this specific treasure, is that it
has no wealth. America s classic coin the penny, is beginning to prove to be a second rate coin when it
comes to its use. And though many already cherish the coin for its history, the penny proves to be
completely counterproductive in today s society. After debating of whether or not the penny should be
extinguished, there is no doubt that the penny is worthless, easily replaceable, and a waste of time. As
society continues to up the prices on goods, the penny becomes completely worthless to the modern
economic system. In fact, most items, if not all, are completely above the amount range of the penny.
In Abolish the Penny William Safire writes that, You can t buy anything with a penny any more. Penny
candy? Not for sale at the five and dime (which is now a dollar store)...Any vending machines? Put a
penny in it and it will sound an alarm. Clearly, there is an irony when it comes to penny candy, when
you can t even use your one cent coin to purchase said sweets. When it all comes down to the bottom
line, pennies can t be even remotely used to purchase any goods because of it s problematic value; it s
mostly useless. Even the press secretary, Neena Moorjani, also believes the idea that the penny is
practically useless in everyday society (source A). blah blah put what needs to be put here cause i have

Reflection About Love
Driven by our most basic human instincts, the act of finding love is often associated with sacredness
and is frequently regarded as a divine act that is to be cherished. The notion of love is a universal
principle that is responsible for the existence and preservation of society, lays out the foundation for
all human actions, undergirds the innate behaviour of human beings, and can be regarded as the
aspiration and source of all human striving. As a result of the intrinsic ability and humanistic quality
of giving and feeling love, it is without question that this universal feeling is the supreme concern of
all human beings. Symposium is a unique literary work and a transcendent masterpiece by the
venerable Plato, written on the foundation of one of the most prominent and basic themes and
primitive subject matters known to mankind love. In this classical Ancient Greek disquisition, six
distinguished Athenians employ story, lyric, and verse in the form of speeches, to convey a variety of
legends and motifs regarding the nature, function, and capacity of love (Eros). These ancient
dissertations centered around the phenomenon of love, present sublime subject matter, abstract content
and oratorical power that has seized my mind, stirred my thoughts, and allowed me to deeply examine
my personal insights regarding love.
In the English language and Western culture, love is a remarkably far reaching, extensive term that can
be taken in a number of contexts. In contemporary

Overfishing
Overfishing refers to the act of overexploiting fish such that they reduce to unacceptable limits. The
problem occurs if humans harvest large fish quantities than they can be replaced via natural
reproduction in a given water body. Although catching large amounts of fish appear profitable, it has
dire social and economic consequences. Overfishing interrupts balance of the marine ecosystem.
Similarly, majority of the coastal population depends on fishing as their source of livelihood. This
implies that the overpopulation causes an economic crisis to both the people who rely on fishing
occupation; as well as several people who rely on fish diets. For many centuries, the oceans have been
a reliable source of fish diets that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In poor countries where employment opportunities are limited, overfishing may result in a massive
migration. Major cities and businesses in regions that are affected by fishing restrictions often collapse
or develop at very slow rate (Newell, 2007).
Overfishing dilemma Since there is no country that owns fish in the oceans, the developed countries
with advanced technologies catch big fish quantities than developing nations with poor or no large
fishing vessels. As a result, the developing countries with limited capital to invest in the fishing
industry have resolved in selling fishing rights to international fishing services. On the same note,
many countries have extensive patrols intended to protect unlicensed international fishing vessels
from catching waters in other outcries territorial waters. Fishing vessels that are caught catching fish
in restricted territorial waters are often subjected to heavy fines. Restrictive policies In various
international waters, overfishing is a major problem such that it has made countries affected by the
problem to develop various policies aimed at restricting individual vessels from overexploitation of
fish. Examples of some of the latest restriction policies that countries have made to prevent
overfishing include total allowable catch limits (TAC), season length restrictions, vessel power

Symptoms And Treatment Of Pancreatic Cancer
Introduction:
Intraductal papillary mucinous duct neoplasms of the pancreas (IPMN p) are one of the subtypes of
cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. They are neoplasms that arise in the pancreatic ducts and can be
visualized as they are usually greater than 0.5 inch in length. They are comprised of tall mucin
producing columnar cells, that have the capability of transforming into pancreatic cancer if left
untreated. Their ability to develop into pancreatic cancer is one of the main reasons behind their
significance. IPMNs commonly exhibit cell atypia, papillary propagation, and cyst production. Their
main feature is the ability to produce copious amounts of fluid.
In general pancreatic cysts are not an uncommon finding on abdominal computerized tomography
(CT) scans. A study done at University College Dublin in 2008, in which, 2,832 abdominal CT scans
were evaluated for presence of pancreatic cysts, showed that 2.6% of people have pancreatic cysts.
These patients had no history of pancreatic disease, and had no pancreatic symptoms at the time of the
scan i.e the abdominal scan was done for other reasons. Pancreatic cysts increased with age, with zero
cysts found in patients below 40 and up to 8.7% of scans of those above 80 years of age had cysts
present. (12)
IPMNs of the pancreas can occur in either the main pancreatic duct or in one of its branches. The
smaller the branch size in which the neoplasm arose, the higher the likelihood of a less aggressive
neoplasm. Tumors

There are many reasons why these two are considered as the economical justifiable terms but some of
the points are as follows : Tax considerations as mentioned above it is very important aspect when
merger happens because with it the capital structure of the organizations. For instance let us assume
that there are two companies, company A and company B. They are deciding the merge. Here
company A is very high turnover and also the profit is outstanding thus the tax obligations is very high
and the company B runs in the debt. Thus if these companies unite the tax liability of Company A will
reduce and thus money can be reduced for going out. Even in future the tax liability will be less then it
is in existing situation. Synergy This is also referring to the stakeholders and merging companies. The
origin of the synergy can be done by many reasons they are a) financial economies, b) two separate
management strength, c) operating economies d) by the union of two companies the market power
will increase and also the competition will decrease. Thus synergy and tax considerations are main and
justifiable in this situation. Hostile merger As the name indicates the target company is been hostile.
Here the acquiring company pressures the target company. Thus in other words the target company

Symbolism In Alice Walker s Everyday Use
Alice Walker, author of Everyday Use , was a well known author. She used three types of symbolism
such as the quilts made by African American that bore significances, the house that was burned and
the one that was rebuilt, and hands is various areas of the story. The main characters were the mama,
sisters Maggie, and Dee. Maggie was the young girl who was scared due to burns, and Dee who was
the Miss Goody two shoe type of girl and also thought she could get anything she wanted.
Different types of symbolism are used to add significance to point out the uniqueness in connotations
that a writer uses when writing literature. An author s literary works may include multiple symbols to
give the perception to his or her readers. When an author uses a symbol, it is intended to heighten the
sense of a user s communication of literary works. The three key symbols in the short story in
Everyday Use is that of quilts stored away in a trunk, the house, and hands. The quilts represented the
African American s women s talent of creativity from those that were made from by other individuals
from other people. The quilts depicted that of a guiding principle during the time of slavery for which
they were used to send a form of communication to other slaves (Kirszner and Mandell, 2012). As

The attacks on Hamburg were not a turning point of the war as Bomber Command s fortunes had
completely disappeared once they started targeting Berlin, where their loss rates peaked to
unacceptably high levels. Therefore Gee made less of an impact in assisting the Allied strategic
bombing of Germany compared to Window. However the impact on Hamburg caused by Window was
relatively short lived because the Germans countered. On the other hand the long range escort fighters,
disposable fuel tanks and The Thousand Bomber raids had a long lived impact. The P 51 Mustang was
an important aircraft in the war that had an American airframe and a British Rolls Royce Merlin
Engine. Disposable fuel tanks, which increased the Allied fighter s range were loaded onto the P 51
Mustang and by March 1944, the modified Mustang had a 1800 mile armed range and could fly with
the bombers to Berlin and back. Richard Ovary said The long range escort fighter transformed the air

Alex Williams Argument Analysis
A strong written argument is supported by several methods that are used to legitimize the author s
position as well as to discredit any counterargument brought forth. The techniques include introducing
a counterargument and weakening it s position with evidence. Providing legitimate academic research
such as statistics as well as anecdotes from scholars on the given subject can reinforce the author s
argument. Another important method used is requiring the reader to critically think about a subject
brought forth by challenging their preconceived ideas about a topic. This may also include using

Reducing The Risk Of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia
Reducing the Risk of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia through Head of Bed Elevation The American
Thoracic Society (1996) defines ventilator acquired pneumonia or VAP as the specified type of
nosocomial pneumonia that occurs after the first 48 hours of initiating mechanical ventilation. One of
the major causes of mortality among infections acquired at the hospital is VAP. Once a patient
develops VAP he/she will have to spend to longer amount of time in the ICU (Rello et al.,1996). VAP
initiating bacteria are often categorized into two groups: those that cause early onset VAP (usually
with 4 days of mechanical ventilation) and those that cause late onset VAP (usually after 4 days of
mechanical ventilation) (Craven and Steger, 1996; George et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The various factors that increase a patient s susceptibility to VAP are discussed by Cook et al.(1998).
Background of study It has been found that the chances of developing nosocomial pneumonia is
reduced by situating seriously ill ventilated patients in a semi recumbent position. The goal of this
experiment is to compare and contrast between the effects of the present standard degree of bed head
elevation (i.e. 25 °) and 45° elevation on the occurrence of VAP. The incidence of VAP can be
prevented/reduced in the hospitals by taking nursing measures. Elevation of head of bed is one among
them. Nurses should maintain the angle of 45 degree of bed head elevation all times to reduce the risk
of aspiration. The flat position increases the risk of aspiration. The main purpose of this study is to
understand whether or not increasing the standard degree of bed head elevation will help minimize the
occurrence of VAP. Methods of study The method adopted was quantitative in nature, using a
randomized controlled trial. In order to achieve this, 71 adult patients were assessed for eligibility and
among this 59 met the given criteria. They were randomly categorized into treatment groups
consisting of 29 patients and a control group consisting of 27 patients. The randomization was done by
the same nurse who recruited the patients for

Gender And Technology Has Become A Important Factor Within...
Gender and technology has become a very important factor within today s society, as it reflects upon
the overlaps between gender, digital technologies and democracy. Technology has presented both
genders in provocative ways that tends to lead to sexual harassment and then for political action to end
gender based violence. This then becomes essential and fundamental to the working of and towards a
healthy democracy. The term Cyberfeminism has been developed throughout the previous years as
feminists who are interested in exploiting with technologies, such as the Internet and cyber space think
it is a vehicle of freedom from the dissolution of sex and gender. An example of online digital media
that illustrates the case of gender of Cyberfeminism is the online media campaign called Free The
Nipple. This essay will firstly describe this cyberfeminism campaign and how it is relevant towards
gender and technology. Then it will examine how digital media can be used as a form of resistance
against stereotypes and ideological assumptions in relation to the role of women in contemporary
society. Thus the difference between men and women become relevant to these media phenomena and
is of importance for gender patterns when considering it in relation to the Internet. (Bimber, 3)

An Argument Analysis Of Mozart s Requiem
In the last decade, the problem of Mozart s Requiem has divided itself into three categories which
most of the scholars have majored on in an attempt to come up with a clear analysis of the arguments
and various evidence. The three main problems include the authenticity problem viewed in a narrower
sense, the instrumentation problem and the dating problem. According to Friedrich Blume, the
question of authenticity comes in when the question of which parts were completed by Mozart and the
other parts that were completed by the another composer. It is hard to determine if the other composer
followed the concerns that Mozart would wish to be addressed. The issue of instrumentation also
becomes of concern in the sense that whether the Sussmayr s manuscript of the whole Requiem uses
the instrumentation that Mozart had indicated or whether it is out of the creativity of the master. The
dating problem was whether Mozart finished the work when he was on his deathbed or whether he had
composed the Requiem before he fell ill. Such problems of the Requiem could only be answered by
his close friends who died before the controversy arose. Looking further into this investigation this
document will analyze the problems of the Requiem based on arguments from the five scholars:
Thomas Bauman, Paul Moseley, Simon Keefe, Christoph Wolff, and Richard Maunder.
Bauman provides a thoughtful analysis of the completion of Mozart s Requiem by Richard Maunder.
He bases his argument on the fact that

Experiment to Determine if Physical Activity Will Increase...
Introduction The ancient Greeks believed that the human heart pumped an endless supply of pneuma ,
or life energy. Galen, a Greek physician, believed that the pneuma and blood flowed from the heart
like a fountain. He believed that there was an endless supply of this precious life source. It was not
until 1616 that William Harvey determined that Galen was not entirely correct. Due to the practice of
bloodletting during Harvey s time, his belief that blood is in fact finite was not warmly welcomed. (O

Once the patient returned, she was asked to expose her arm to the middle portion of her bicep, and her
wrist and forearm were placed on the laboratory desk. With the patients arm resting on the desk,
approximately equal to the patient s heart level, pulse palpation began. The left radial artery was
visually located. The researcher lightly placed an index and middle finger over the left radial artery
and began palpation of the radial pulse for fifteen seconds. The pulse rate was calculated by
multiplying the total pulse count for the fifteen second duration by four to determine the heart rate.
The rate was recorded as the Post exercise pulse rate. The earpieces and bell of the stethoscope were
cleaned with the alcohol wipes again and positioned in the researcher s ear with the openings inferior

the laboratory table, approximately equal to the patient s heart level, the cuff of the
sphygmomanometer was wrapped around the patient s bicep with the arrow directly in line with the

stethoscope diaphragm was placed between the cuff and bicep, superior to the brachial artery. The cuff
was then inflated to 160 mmhg on the pressure gauge to occlude the brachial artery. The

Behavior Change Theory
Are behavior change theories important to consider when planning and implementing behavior change
interventions?
I think that behavior change theories are quite important in order to develop behavior change
interventions. The theories may advance scholarly insight and methodologies to health professionals
in order to direct effective interventional applications. The interdisciplinary expertise that may be
gleaned from the theorists, may be a necessary element given the current complexities facing today s
health issues. If careful consideration is given to theoretical methodologies that may be effectively
used to redirect behaviors in a positive direction, development of a rational course of interventional
actions to effect change could be realized.

Genius Hour Essay
Greetings and welcome to my Genius hour project! This is a project I have chosen because I am a very
intuitive person, and with an abstract object such as the brain to study, I feel inspired to learn more and
investigate the brain s actions, jobs, abilities, and the overall science behind it. The human brain
shapes the way we perceive and think about our everyday lives based on the experiences we gather
and live through. My genius hour project is about where the best learning happens. For my genius

brain when problems are formed inside. This lead me to the complex field of neurology. This field

How Art Can Be Considered Many Things
Art can be considered many things. It can be considered a sculpture, a painting, a song, a movie, but it
could also be considered a carefully thought out plan.
Art lives through time, and among the criteria of what constitutes the best in Art is that it refuses to be
forgotten. Da Vinci s Mona Lisa , Van Gogh s Starry Night , or even Campbell s Soup Cans by Warhol
have not, as of yet, been forgotten. Much like memorials, which are made with the intention of living
through time by depicting a singular, particular moment of history. Art aims to be remembered, not
forgotten. But memorials, unlike art, tend to commemorate horrific events, tragedies, and losses
almost exclusively. Consider the USS Arizona Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, ... Show more

to write about. But, he writes, that novelist Don DeLillo considered the acts of violence as something
grander and greater than the mere novel (Appleyard 1). Appleyard also includes a quote from artist
Damien Hirst, who had gotten into trouble for saying something similar . Hirst had said, [t]he thing
about 9/11 is that it s kind of an artwork in its own right. It was wicked, but it was devised in this way
for this kind of impact. It was devised visually... You ve got to hand it to them [the terrorists] on some

they did but how they did it. Their plan, Hirst is saying, was like a work of art. Like many depictions

Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You Analysis
Have you ever had a relationship that has moved on because of change? Maybe he or she was too
different from when things started? The play Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare and the
movie 10 Things I Hate About You explore how the relationship between Katherine and Petruchio
have evolved throughout cultural differences. Whether showing this through Petruchio, Katherine, and
how their relationship overall maneuver they act differently or stay the same because of cultural
influence. This dictates their views and behaviors in their relationship. Petruchio and Katherine
certainly have many differences from 16th century Italy to early 2000s United States. Let s explore
these differences now, starting with Petruchio.
If you have seen 10 Things I Hate About You, you would definitely remember the rebellious and sexy
Patrick. Whether that be his black combat boots, long hair and rugged appearance, or the fact that he
ate a live duck, this certainly shows. On the other hand, if you have read the play Taming of the Shrew

do him ease. (Act 5 Sc. 2 193 195) This explains that Katherine is telling the other ladies to do
whatever their husbands command and that you should do anything for him. This is quite a contrast to
the beginning of both the play and movie where both Katherine s are rebels and are very independent.

This is even the case during dinner on a Friday or Saturday night. The only exceptions to this time are

Advertising Influence Advertising
Magazines are a popular item in the United States. They can be found in stores, offices, houses and
more. They are very popular for advertising just like many more things. Television, news, radio,
billboards and online are just a few of the forms of media companies use to advertise their products or
services. The ads manipulate consumers in different ways which can be either positive or negative.
The companies use their ads to influence the consumer to either buy or use their service.
One of the ways advertisements influence consumers is through visualization. Colors play a big role in
drawing in consumers. According to Danciu the primary colors like red, yellow and blue tend to
emphasize simplicity as well as speed. The secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors
together. These include green, orange and purple. The tertiary colors can be created by mixing
secondary and primary colors together. If they want manipulate the consumers, the advertisers are
mixing the images and colors together in such ways that can persuade and direct the consumers to
purchase the product by deceiving and misleading them. Colors have emotions linked to them and
what Danciu is saying is that companies can mix them to grab the consumer s attention and persuade
the consumer into purchasing their product. People often make judgements based on color, whether it
is race or colors of the rainbow so this concept of mixing colors to persuade a consumer is not far
fetched. According to

CONCLUSION
My Life is a Web site that will be updated a few times a year, especially following important family
events such as new babies, marriages, and other events that I participate in. This means that there will
be more photographs and text that will be added over time. It is my hope that anyone of any age will
be able to access and navigate easily throughout my Web site as it grows.
James J. Cappel and Zhenyu Huang wrote, web usability is a broad concept that encompasses many
aspects of design including a Web site s presentation, its navigation features, and its functionality or
usefulness to visitors (Cappel amp; Huang, 2007). I have kept these attributes in mind as a created My

In terms of becoming a mediator and consensus builder the authors detailed the need for principals to
possess relational leadership skills in order to be able to both facilitate groups and coach others on
staff in the ability to facilitate their own groups, and stressed that the key to this is the ability to
effectively participate in conflict resolution (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). The
authors suggested that conflict is part and parcel of school reform and that in addition to being able to
deal effectively with conflict the successful principal needs to develop the ability for bringing about
consensus within the group, noting that interpersonal and intrapersonal skills were as much or more
important than knowledge (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). In the area of
relationships it was noted that principals that are most effective are those that place high value on
people and relationships and that when this exists as a core part of the belief system of the principal it
is noticeable and is communicated to staff in both subtle and explicit ways (Donaldson, Marnik,
Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). According to the authors this sense of value comes through in all of the
dealings that the principal has with stakeholders (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). It

  • 2. The Connection Between Western Capitalism And Mexican... Globalized Violence: The Connection Between Western Capitalism and Mexican Femicide Globalization: a process of interaction between the social, economic and political systems of different nations, a process powered by international trade and investment. Some assert that globalization encourages the spread of more enlightened and egalitarian Western values and international tolerance, while others believe that this phenomenon harms more than it helps and fosters an uncontrolled and abusive economic environment. There is no shortage of opinions on the matter, though one sure point of fact is that globalization affects all aspects of modern life, including the murky world of gendered violence. Between the signing of NAFTA in 1992 and the middle of 2002, just shy of three hundred blue collar female factory workers were murdered in the border town of Juarez, Mexico. However, these numbers are simply the tip of the iceberg when compared to the four hundred and fifty additional disappearances during that decade, a grand total that is only increasing with each passing year. In short, these murders eventually sparked international intrigue and distress, forcing the world to take a closer look at some of the uglier consequences of globalization. Essentially, the femicides of Juarez are simply a symptom of a patriarchal society unconcerned with the lives of its workforce, a culture that values products more than the people who produce them: the overlapping timelines of the Juarez ... • 3. Not Going To Church Research Paper It s boring. That s the top ranked answer (42 percent) among reasons given by infrequent attenders and non attenders for not going to church (Manners). This quotation proves that people don t go to church because it simply doesn t hold their attention. 42 percent don t go because they think it s not fun and lively. That needs to change! To make people come to church a person needs to know how to greet people with hospitality, incorporate new things to the church, and have growth goals so the church can thrive. To attract people it is important to welcome them with hospitality. To draw in people try planning some out of church fun events. Invite everyone! Many might pick up on having fun with brothers and sisters in the faith (Miller). If a church has activities outside of church the members can invite friends, and they might like the feel of things. Kids like to bring their friends with them anywhere they go. If they bring them to church, and the guests like it, they might bring their family. There are special activities for kids like VBS. Everyone should have one, invite the whole town! It is a great way to grow (Miller). At VBS there are a lot of guests that come, some don t belong to a church. If the guests like that church they will come again. If a church keeps growing how will they know when they ve done a good job? Have a growth goal (Evangelism Coach). If a church doesn t have a goal, then how do they know when they ve accomplished something. If a church has a goal for every year, then if they succeed, they have something to be proud of. • 4. The Major Problems Of Population Overcrowding In Canada Problems of Population Overcrowding The day when population of GTA reach its maximum may be just around corner. Where and why are people concentrated in GTA? Most people tend to live in cities rather than sub urban areas due to amenities, job opportunities, infrastructure and educational facilities. Also, immigrants are the major reason why the population overcrowded in cities. According to the Government of Ontario, over the past 20 years, the target range of immigrants has been increased gradually. For example, the target range of immigrants was 280,000 to 320,000 in 2017 and 260,000 to 285,000 in 2016. These numbers are about 0.75 per cent of total population in Canada each year. (Ministry of Finance, 2007). These factors cause population overcrowding in GTA and it may lead to several problems such as traffic jams, housing bubbles and the rise in the homeless rate. These problems can be solved by moving infrastructure, regulating using a car once a week and implementing training programs. These days, some people believe that traffic jams occur more often than before. The Toronto Transit System is slowing down due to heavy traffic. Statistics Canada stated that the number of vehicles registered in the Control Vehicle System is 18,608,297 in 2005. But, in 2017, the number of vehicles registered in Ontario is 11,948,296, which is almost two third of number in 2005. (Statistics Canada, 2017). • 5. The Jungle Analysis Paper The Jungle Analysis Paper America, by the turn of the twentieth century, was regarded as the Land of Opportunity, and lured thousands of immigrants. The foreigners that fled to the United States were in search of new lives; better lives. America was at the age of industrialization, and the economy was shifting from agriculture to factories. There were jobs in the factories available to un skilled workers, which were the majority of the immigrants. And industrialists had no problem finding a way to exploit the workers lives. The migration of Americans from farms to cities and the massive amount of immigration provided an abundant supply of cheap labor. Industrialists saw no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were overly concerned with making profit; far more than the health of their workers. The cheaper the labor cost and the cost of sustaining a clean atmosphere; the more profit the owners would get. This led to a filthy and perilous working environment. The meat packing industry may have been the worst. It had high productivity, but its condition declined to the point of being hazardous to both the workers and consumers. Upton Sinclair vividly depicts the harsh and hazardous conditions of the meat packing factories in his novel, The Jungle: There would be meat that had tumbled out on the floor, in the dirt and sawdust, where the workers had tramped and spit uncounted billions of consumption germs. There would be meat stored in great piles in rooms; and the water from leaky roofs would drip over it, and thousands of rats would race about on it. It was too dark in these storage places to see well, but a man could run his hand over these piles of meat and sweep off handfuls of the dried dung of rats. These rats were nuisances, and the packers would put poisoned bread out for them; they would die, and then rats, bread and meat would go into the hoppers together. Sinclair s novel also depicts the hardships an immigrant family faced during this era. In The Jungle the main character, Jurgis, learns that his wife, Ona, had been raped by one of her bosses, ... The Nature of Intermolecular Forces: The Intermolecular Forces (forces between molecules) are weaker than Intramolecular Forces (The Chemical Bonds within an Individual Molecule). This distinction is the reason we define the molecule in the first place. The properties of matter result from the properties of the individual molecule (resulting from chemical bonding) and how the molecules act collectively (resulting from intermolecular forces). Intermolecular Forces are longest ranged (act strongly over a large distance) when they are electrostatic. Interaction of Charge Monopoles (simple charges) is the longest ranged electrostatic force. Charge Charge forces (found in ionic crystals) For like charges (+,+) or ( , ), this force is always repulsive. For unlike charges (+, ), this force is always attractive. Charge Dipole Forces: An uncharged molecule can still have an electric dipole moment. Electric Dipoles arise from opposite but equal charges separated by a distance. Molecules that possess a dipole moment are called Polar molecules (remember the polar covalent bond?). Water is polar and has a dipole moment of 1.85 Debye. The Debye is a unit of dipole moment and has a value of 3.336 x 10 30 Coulomb meter. What this script offers is a very engaging female protagonist. The script also offers a unique hook: she s a skilled fighter. In fact, the idea of the mystery fighter, actually, sets this script apart. The opening establishes the ordinary world of the heroine, Rosette. Her world is shattered by the murder of her parents and the disappearance of her brother. It s a solid inciting event. Her goal of revenge is clear and the stakes are high. The second act is driven by her need for retribution. The second act introduces her world of being a fighter. The fighting scenes are strong and exciting. In the third act, she ... To elevate the pace and the tension, one possible solution is to have Rosette find the other invaders and show her killing them, one by one with her fighting skills, leaving Fitz as the last one. This is a formula that has been done before, but it works to maintain tension and interest. It also builds suspense. Right now, the tone could be grittier and the violence enhanced. The other issue that feels unsolved is Rosette s brother. It s our understanding that she s still looking for him, but at the end it doesn t feel as if she s going after him. As mentioned, Rosette is a very likable heroine. It s easy to root for her. She makes some wrong decisions, but they are for the right reasons. While flawed, the audience forgives her. She wants justice, but she s driven by revenge at the risk of her life and she has forsaken any personal life for her quest. She s smart and she s determined. She s still grieving and at the end, she seems to be healing. Suspiros is a spirited woman, who immediately sees the good in Rosette and wants to help and rescue her. • 8. Pros And Cons Of Community Probation And Community... Community corrections are programs which oversea offenders outside of jail or prison. Community corrections include probation and parole. Probation is supervision within the community instead of jail or prison. Parole is a dated time where parolees are supervised upon release from prison. Some offenders are not dangerous to society. Their crimes do not warrant incarceration. The crimes are petty offences and will not be placed in a general population in prison. If they are placed in a prison they might be subject to gang raped, bullying, which will cost them to retaliate and possibly lock them into a life of crime. Community corrections is cost effective. Brown wasn t taken into custody after his probation was revoked even though the probation department recommended jail time. The judge scheduled a court date to check on his progress. TMZ reports the judge scheduled a March 20th court date to check in on Brown s progress. At Friday s hearing, Mr. Brown s probation officer stated a positive review that he had completed his community service sentence. The judge had the option of prolonging his probation, however, he ruled the singer would no longer be under the eye of the judicial system. Though Chris Brown still have issues, probation has definitely helped him to turn his life around and to think in a positive manner. He has a long way to go, but it is a working progress. Now he is more into his music, and focused on staying out of trouble. In my opinion, instead of throwing offenders in jail for crimes probation is a great remedy which has impacted many individuals for being incarcerated. I think probation should be an option for minor crimes and should be more enforced often. I think community correction is great program that should be implemented and required in all states, thus allowing minor offender the opportunity to be reformed on the outside. I specifically implored community conviction especially as related to juvenile. Often time juveniles are at the wrong place at the wrong time unjustly prosecuted due to lack of family support and money. This service will greatly impact juveniles in a poor community, and does ... • 9. Argumentative Essay On Abolish The Penny Pennies are one of America s oldest treasures, but what is ironic about this specific treasure, is that it has no wealth. America s classic coin the penny, is beginning to prove to be a second rate coin when it comes to its use. And though many already cherish the coin for its history, the penny proves to be completely counterproductive in today s society. After debating of whether or not the penny should be extinguished, there is no doubt that the penny is worthless, easily replaceable, and a waste of time. As society continues to up the prices on goods, the penny becomes completely worthless to the modern economic system. In fact, most items, if not all, are completely above the amount range of the penny. In Abolish the Penny William Safire writes that, You can t buy anything with a penny any more. Penny candy? Not for sale at the five and dime (which is now a dollar store)...Any vending machines? Put a penny in it and it will sound an alarm. Clearly, there is an irony when it comes to penny candy, when you can t even use your one cent coin to purchase said sweets. When it all comes down to the bottom line, pennies can t be even remotely used to purchase any goods because of it s problematic value; it s mostly useless. Even the press secretary, Neena Moorjani, also believes the idea that the penny is practically useless in everyday society (source A). blah blah put what needs to be put here cause i have no idea? • 10. Reflection About Love Driven by our most basic human instincts, the act of finding love is often associated with sacredness and is frequently regarded as a divine act that is to be cherished. The notion of love is a universal principle that is responsible for the existence and preservation of society, lays out the foundation for all human actions, undergirds the innate behaviour of human beings, and can be regarded as the aspiration and source of all human striving. As a result of the intrinsic ability and humanistic quality of giving and feeling love, it is without question that this universal feeling is the supreme concern of all human beings. Symposium is a unique literary work and a transcendent masterpiece by the venerable Plato, written on the foundation of one of the most prominent and basic themes and primitive subject matters known to mankind love. In this classical Ancient Greek disquisition, six distinguished Athenians employ story, lyric, and verse in the form of speeches, to convey a variety of legends and motifs regarding the nature, function, and capacity of love (Eros). These ancient dissertations centered around the phenomenon of love, present sublime subject matter, abstract content and oratorical power that has seized my mind, stirred my thoughts, and allowed me to deeply examine my personal insights regarding love. The problem occurs if humans harvest large fish quantities than they can be replaced via natural reproduction in a given water body. Although catching large amounts of fish appear profitable, it has dire social and economic consequences. Overfishing interrupts balance of the marine ecosystem. Similarly, majority of the coastal population depends on fishing as their source of livelihood. This implies that the overpopulation causes an economic crisis to both the people who rely on fishing occupation; as well as several people who rely on fish diets. In poor countries where employment opportunities are limited, overfishing may result in a massive migration. Major cities and businesses in regions that are affected by fishing restrictions often collapse or develop at very slow rate (Newell, 2007). As a result, the developing countries with limited capital to invest in the fishing industry have resolved in selling fishing rights to international fishing services. On the same note, many countries have extensive patrols intended to protect unlicensed international fishing vessels from catching waters in other outcries territorial waters. Fishing vessels that are caught catching fish in restricted territorial waters are often subjected to heavy fines. • 12. Symptoms And Treatment Of Pancreatic Cancer Introduction: Intraductal papillary mucinous duct neoplasms of the pancreas (IPMN p) are one of the subtypes of cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. They are neoplasms that arise in the pancreatic ducts and can be visualized as they are usually greater than 0.5 inch in length. They are comprised of tall mucin producing columnar cells, that have the capability of transforming into pancreatic cancer if left untreated. Their ability to develop into pancreatic cancer is one of the main reasons behind their significance. IPMNs commonly exhibit cell atypia, papillary propagation, and cyst production. Their main feature is the ability to produce copious amounts of fluid. In general pancreatic cysts are not an uncommon finding on abdominal computerized tomography (CT) scans. A study done at University College Dublin in 2008, in which, 2,832 abdominal CT scans were evaluated for presence of pancreatic cysts, showed that 2.6% of people have pancreatic cysts. These patients had no history of pancreatic disease, and had no pancreatic symptoms at the time of the scan i.e the abdominal scan was done for other reasons. Pancreatic cysts increased with age, with zero cysts found in patients below 40 and up to 8.7% of scans of those above 80 years of age had cysts present. (12) IPMNs of the pancreas can occur in either the main pancreatic duct or in one of its branches. The smaller the branch size in which the neoplasm arose, the higher the likelihood of a less aggressive neoplasm. Tumors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reducing The Risk Of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia Reducing the Risk of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia through Head of Bed Elevation The American Thoracic Society (1996) defines ventilator acquired pneumonia or VAP as the specified type of nosocomial pneumonia that occurs after the first 48 hours of initiating mechanical ventilation. One of the major causes of mortality among infections acquired at the hospital is VAP. Once a patient develops VAP he/she will have to spend to longer amount of time in the ICU (Rello et al.,1996). VAP initiating bacteria are often categorized into two groups: those that cause early onset VAP (usually with 4 days of mechanical ventilation) and those that cause late onset VAP (usually after 4 days of mechanical ventilation) (Craven and Steger, 1996; George et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The various factors that increase a patient s susceptibility to VAP are discussed by Cook et al.(1998). Background of study It has been found that the chances of developing nosocomial pneumonia is reduced by situating seriously ill ventilated patients in a semi recumbent position. The goal of this experiment is to compare and contrast between the effects of the present standard degree of bed head elevation (i.e. 25 °) and 45° elevation on the occurrence of VAP. The incidence of VAP can be prevented/reduced in the hospitals by taking nursing measures. Elevation of head of bed is one among them. Nurses should maintain the angle of 45 degree of bed head elevation all times to reduce the risk of aspiration. The flat position increases the risk of aspiration. The main purpose of this study is to understand whether or not increasing the standard degree of bed head elevation will help minimize the occurrence of VAP. Methods of study The method adopted was quantitative in nature, using a randomized controlled trial. In order to achieve this, 71 adult patients were assessed for eligibility and among this 59 met the given criteria. They were randomly categorized into treatment groups consisting of 29 patients and a control group consisting of 27 patients. • 21. An Argument Analysis Of Mozart s Requiem In the last decade, the problem of Mozart s Requiem has divided itself into three categories which most of the scholars have majored on in an attempt to come up with a clear analysis of the arguments and various evidence. The three main problems include the authenticity problem viewed in a narrower sense, the instrumentation problem and the dating problem. According to Friedrich Blume, the question of authenticity comes in when the question of which parts were completed by Mozart and the other parts that were completed by the another composer. It is hard to determine if the other composer followed the concerns that Mozart would wish to be addressed. The issue of instrumentation also becomes of concern in the sense that whether the Sussmayr s manuscript of the whole Requiem uses the instrumentation that Mozart had indicated or whether it is out of the creativity of the master. The dating problem was whether Mozart finished the work when he was on his deathbed or whether he had composed the Requiem before he fell ill. Such problems of the Requiem could only be answered by his close friends who died before the controversy arose. Looking further into this investigation this document will analyze the problems of the Requiem based on arguments from the five scholars: Thomas Bauman, Paul Moseley, Simon Keefe, Christoph Wolff, and Richard Maunder. Bauman provides a thoughtful analysis of the completion of Mozart s Requiem by Richard Maunder. He bases his argument on the fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
