Essay Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Writing an essay on the topic of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is a challenging yet rewarding task. It
requires a deep understanding of Nehru's life, his role in India's struggle for independence, and
his contributions as the country's first Prime Minister.
To begin with, extensive research is necessary to gather accurate information about Nehru's early
life, education, political ideologies, and leadership style. The complexity of his personality and
the multifaceted nature of his contributions demand careful analysis and thoughtful reflection.
Crafting a well-structured essay involves organizing the information chronologically or
thematically, depending on the chosen approach. It's crucial to strike a balance between
presenting historical facts and offering insightful interpretations to engage the reader.
Moreover, discussing Nehru's legacy requires addressing both the positive aspects of his
leadership, such as his commitment to secularism, economic planning, and nation-building, as
well as acknowledging criticisms, like his handling of the Kashmir issue and the border disputes.
The language used in the essay should be articulate and coherent, conveying a sense of respect
for the subject while maintaining an objective and analytical tone. Balancing between being
informative and avoiding excessive details is another layer of complexity.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru involves navigating through a vast
sea of historical data, understanding the nuances of his character, and presenting a
comprehensive and balanced view of his life and contributions. It is, indeed, a demanding task
that requires both research skills and the ability to articulate thoughts effectively.

How Did Josephine Baker Impact Society
A brilliant woman once said, I believe if the white and colored people could get
together and be left alone, they would understand each other and consequently love
each other (Josephine Baker). Originally born Freda Josephine McDonald, Baker
lived an oppressed early life as an African American girl with little to hardly any
money. At the time, African Americans faced hardships due to the white
supremacists that believed dark colored people would not be of equal value to
caucasians. Baker decided that she could overcome her persecution by moving to
France and making herself into an idol. She was an independent and courageous
woman who opened the doors for equality to many. Josephine Baker greatly impacted
America due to her influence on women; therefore, leading to more women involved
in education and working, her civil rights speeches that opened opportunities for
equal races, as well as advocating for equality among men and women. Baker s
independence and talents led to more women valuing themselves, which ultimately
created the cultural views that many see... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baker influenced much of the society that have today including the cultural views
that Americans believe in. Feminism was inspired from the building up of women
that she believed and promoted in her life as a dancer and activist. Baker also
made inferior races and minority groups in general feel spoken for when they could
not speak for themselves. She was the needed microphone and picture of freedom
that they so desperately wanted. If Josephine Baker had never changed the way
society saw equality, then women would still be in the houses, men would be making
most of the money, and racial minorities would feel endangered at every
The Wonders Of The Canadian Government Essay
The Wonders Of The Canadian Government
Protection of life is NOT a legitimate use for a firearm in this country sir! Not! That
is expressly ruled out! Justice Minister Allan Rock, 1994. Guns are highly controlled
in Canada for a reason, because if they were not, where would Canada be now?
Canada would be in anarchy as they slowly watch their country slip into violence
and on to its impending doom(Hyperbole). To think back on life, whether 19 years of
age or 90 years of age, has there ever been a time where safety is found in holding a
gun, or a situation that felt a gun would have been necessary? To start off, Canadian
citizens will feel safer without guns because no one will have guns! Funny how that

Would Canadian citizens feel safer with the Trudeau government implementing these

these did help him win a majority government.
Lastly, if people feel unsafe with firearms they possess they can simply rid of them,
when the right time comes, through a Gun Amnesty Drive . This is where people
can drop off a firearm that you possess that is inherited or simply, no longer in
usage. That means that people can use a gun amnesty drive to drive away the
worry of that weapon crashing into the wrong hands (Verbal Irony). Toronto Police
Inspector Chris Boddy feels that any time the Toronto police removes one gun out
of a neighbourhood, [it is] a good day, and [we have] a lot of good days . Due to
Gun laws in Canada, programs like the Gun Amnesty program in Toronto, and
similar ones around the country are able to happen, which gives the police a chance
to get ahead against criminals and gangs. Do listen though, the guns collected via
these programs are not repurposed for the use of police officers, but are destroyed,

To bring this all into a smaller picture, because of the regulations set by the Trudeau

Shakespeare s use of the Renaissance Idea of Fatalism and Imagery in King Lear
In a play about individual tragedies, fatalism plays an important part. Shakespeare
effectively uses cosmic imagery to define his characters and to explore the idea of
journeys linked to self discovery by relating it to the imagery of rotating circles.
Shakespeare uses Renaissance theology to explain character motivation. In the 16th
century there was a great belief in astronomy. People believed in the harmony of the
spheres and they were ruled by this idea of thhe natural alignment of the nine planets
in their orbits. Shakespeare incorporates this into King Lear in highlighting Edgar and
Gloucester s superstitious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edmund turns away from the belief of the alignment of planets and harmonies and
towards nature as that is all he can be really sure of. The fact that Edmund doesn t
believe in spherical predominance proves that he is different to the society around
him. Shakespeare takes every opportunity to emphasise this to distinguish evil
from good in the play putting Edmund forward as a character who is out of
harmony. When Gloucester predicts that eclipses in the sun and moon suggesting a
bad omen, Edmund casts aspersions on this idea, accusing the world of foppery ,
describing it as excellent because he sees it as a weakness that he can exploit from
his anti human point of view. Edmund is also stating that people are fops or fools
because they blame their evil and wrong doings, which is really part of their
character our own behaviour , on the cosmos. Even though Edmund does rightly say
that
that when we are sick in fortune often surfeits of our own behaviour we make guilty
of our disasters, the sun, the moon and the stars, as if we were villains on necessity,
fools by heavenly compulsion (Act I.2.117 26)
He declares that men are fools if they evade responsibility for their actions by
blaming the stars He ultimately decides that man is what he is by choice, not by the
stars and that he is evil. He appreciates no fate, only free will. He says that all cosmic

How Does Virgil Present Dido s Relationship In The Aeneid
We are shown many relationships throughout the epic of he Aeneid, by Virgil. Parent
child relationships and relationships of love are prominent throughout the book. With
the relationship of Aeneas and Anchises, his father, we see a positive relationship,
also another positive relationship we see is the one of Aeneasand his mother, Venus.
Didoand Aeneas portray both a positive and negative relationship. All three of these
characters were affected in some way, whether it be on a positive note or a negative
note; such as death.
The wretched love affair of Aeneas and Dido is one of the most prominent events in
The Aeneid by Virgil. Although this relationship tragically ends in a death. The

The Romans viewed their relationships with their fathers as utmost important. As a
son, it was your duty to respect your father, and by doing so, you were honouring
your ancestors. Honouring your household gods was very important to the Trojans,
as it was almost considered bad luck to disrespect them. Anchises who was Aeneas s
father and a symbol of Aeneas s Trojan heritage, was extremely important in his life.
Although Anchises dies during the journey from Troy to Italy, he continues in spirit
to help his son fulfil fate s command, especially by guiding Aeneas through the
underworld. When, in the underworld, Aeneas s father, Anchises, presents a tableau
of the events that will lead to Rome s pinnacle, Aeneas comes to understand his
historical role with greater clarity and immediacy. This shows us that the relationship
between Aeneas and his father Anchises was positive; as his father guided him along
the right path and helped him to uncover his fate. Through the relationship of Aeneas
and his father, Anchises, we also are shown a glimpse of Aeneas relationship with his
son, Ascanius. The action centres around Aeneas s determination to fulfil his destiny
if not for himself, then for his son,
Family in Night by Ellie Wiesel
What does the word family mean to you? In my opinion, family means everything
to me. It s the people I knew since I was born, who I know I can turn to anytime
needed. Everyone has their own definition of family, it can be positive, negative, or
even both. In the world s society everyone is born into a family, it can be a traditional,
a un blood related, or an extended family. No matter how well a family relationship
can be there is no such thing as a perfect family. In many classic pieces of literature,
many writers use themes of conflict between the children and their parents. It can
be conflicts towards each other or conflicts the family experiences together. In
many well know novels, many characters from tragic events of abuse, cruelty, and
negligent events kept their courage to survive through terrible events. The story of
Ellen Foster Kaye Gibbons takes a reader inside a story of young orphaned girl, who
is passed down to every family until the she is able to find the perfect one she fit
into. In the classic novel Night author Elie Wieselwrites a historical piece about a
young boy s experience in a concentration camp. Losing half of his family the
young boy Eliezer has to fight with his father through suffering tactics from the
Nazis. The classic play Romeo and Juliet , William Shakespeare writes a tragic
piece about two young lovers being forced to disobey family orders to be with each
other. In all three pieces of literature, the characters struggle

(Belhaven, 2015). In other terms, leaders prepare and make sure that their followers
are ready to take on the tasks that they are to be presented with. The model has strong
purposes currently in fields such as athletic coaching and in the military. Coaches
work to prepare their athletes for competition by practicing and repeating techniques.
They also scout their opponents and then use the information found while scouting to
help prepare their their team for the upcoming opponent. In the military, numerous
tasks and tests are presented to members to make sure they are prepared for the
dealings they will have when they are on their own and in battle.
This leadership model has strong ties to the greatest leader of all, Jesus Christ.
Christ used this type of modeling when he prepared his apostles for their ministry
work in Matthew. Christ began by laying out the the mission, gave them authority
over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to cure every disease and every sickness.
(Matthew 10:15, New Revised Standard Version). He gave them that authority in
order to prepare them for the unclean cities and people they were to encounter. As
He continue to address these 12, Christ explained to them they were to proclaim the
good news, The kingdom of heaven has come near. (Matt. 10:7, NRSV). By
addressing the people of the cities to this news, the apostles would also use a form of
situational leadership by preparing the people for

Modern understanding of war.
Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is
the noise before defeat (Sun Tzu). This quote has bewildered me ever since I

implications of winning wars. I once heard that only dead men see the end of war,
loosely phrased from Plato, and I don t know if I can agree. Arguably, America s

Essay On The Great Fog Of 1952
The Great Smog of 1952 A fog so thick and dirtied it cleared out thousands dead
wreaked destruction on London in 1952. The smoke like contamination was so
dangerous it was even answered to have stifled cows to death in the fields. It was
so thick it brought street, air and rail transport to a virtual stop. This was
absolutely an occasion to recollect, yet not the first brown fog of its kind to hit the
capital. Brown fog had turned into a continuous piece of London life, however
nothing entirely contrasted with the smoke loaded fog that covered the capital

mist was not particularly thick and by and large had a dry, smoky character. At the
point when sunset came, be that as it may, the fog thickened. Perceivability dropped

industry with their creativity and ambition (Document C 2, historian B, 1953). The
United States would not be as technologically advanced if these poeple didnt come
up with the stratigies that they did. Carnegie was thought to be the industrail hero of
the time, while Rockefeller was thought to be the Oil hero. Although they created the
baseline to all industrial essentials, these poeple were indeed corrupt. These so

Alternative Energy For Renewable Energy Sources
Algae Biofuel
For many years the world has depended on one form of energy for transportation,
and that is fossil fuels. This means as our demand for these fossil fuels increases
our supply will decrease dramatically. As supply dwindles and costs rise, nations
will be forced to utilize alternative energy sources. Coal, both non renewable and
environmentally destructive, is the most likely near term candidate for replacing oil
as a primary energy source. In order to achieve a secure and stable energy supply
that does not cause environmental damage, renewable energy sources must be
explored and promising technologies should be developed. Biodiesel derived from
green algae biomass has the potential for high volume, cost effective production. It
can be carbon neutral and produced intensively on relatively small areas of marginal
land. The quality of the fuel product is comparable to petroleum diesel and can be
incorporated with minimal change into the existing fuel infrastructure. Innovative
techniques, including the use of industrial and domestic waste as fertilizer, could
be applied to further increase biodiesel productivity. There is now research going
into renewable resources to replace these harmful fossil fuels. One of the newest
and most innovative of these resources is algal biofuel. (Olds, 2006). Also known as
algae biofuel, and oilgae, the majority of algae are photosynthetic so water, carbon
dioxide, light, and minerals are necessary for growth (Olds, 2006).
Reactive Attachment Disorder ( Ptsd )
Reactive Attachment Disorder 1.Introduction Reactive Attachment Disorder is
classified under Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders under the new Diagnostic
and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM 5; American
Psychiatric Association, 2013). The following mental disorders are also classified
under Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders: Disinhibited Social Engagement
Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, Adjustment
Disorders, Other Specified Trauma and Stressor Related Disorder, and Unspecified
Trauma and Stressor Related Disorder (DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association,
2013). Reactive Attachment Disorder is a fairly uncommon mental disorder where
the child (onset is usually before age five) has severe disturbances in social
relatedness with others (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014). This results in the child not
turning to a primary caregiver (e.g. mother) for comfort, protection, or support. This
behavior of not seeking support from a primary caregiver is related to the main
diagnostic feature of the disorder, which is underdeveloped attachment (DSM 5;
American Psychiatric Association, 2013). As a result of underdeveloped attachments
with the primary caregiver, the child will display aggressive and hostile towards the
mother an may even seek attachment with strangers (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014;
Speltz, McClellan, DeKlyen, Jones, 1999). Altogether, there are six main diagnostic
criteria for Reactive Attachment
Dinosaurs And The Past ( Triassic Period )
Dinosaurs were huge animals that existed in the past (Triassic period). Species came
in different sizes and forms. Some had huge bodies while other tiny bodies and shape.
From historical evidence prevalent today, dinosaurs were found in all continents but
differed in sizes and physical attributes. The landmass prevalent in different regions
denoted the type of species that existed within its boundaries. Some Dinosaurs were
herbivores; therefore their teeth and digestive systems were developed to handle the
plants they consumed. The planet at the time was covered with green plantations that
the animals fed on. Their sprawling posture that Dinosaurs possessed depicted their
ability to eat leaves on high branches and twigs. Other Dinosaurs survived on meat
from other animals. A famous example includes Tyrannosaurus Rex (Kays and
Wilson). The animal jaws and muscles were very strong with pointed teeth. This
enhanced its hunting skills as well as helped with feeding. During this period there
were a lot of herbivores roaming the earth (Johnson). Africa, Asia and Europe were
the major continents. Through splitting, other continents were formed. Water bodies,
such as the Mediterranean Sea that is found between Europe and Africa, separated
these regions. Thus, dinosaurs were distributed sparingly within these continents.
There were many different species of dinosaurs, such as Megalosaurus, Herrerasaurus,
and Tyrannosaurus rex. Evidence of existence and

Confucius And The Chinese Sage

Confucius high emphasis on morality instead of profit was one of his major political
ideals that he tried to persuade the the rulers of the kingdoms to pursue. However, his
failure to convince any of those rulers reflected the prevalent pragmatic political
culture at that period. After all, the kingdoms were at war with each other so that
Confucius idea was inevitably less popular than those battle winning strategies in
favor of profit.
Nevertheless, hundreds of years later, when China became a large unified country, its

We learn that a sage recognizes a sage, whereas an ordinary man cannot recognize a
sage. The ordinary man sees nothing but the outer form of a beggar, while the sage

In ancient East Asian countries, sages were a group of people respected by educated
people and revered by the common illiterate mass. According to the text, the sages

For the ancient dynasties of China and Japan that influenced by Confucianism, sages

Two Situations on How Calculus Is Used in Daily Life
There are actually two situations on how calculus is used in daily life. One of them
is in term of one is in term of concept, while the other one is in term of practicality.
Concepts used of calculus usually used in daily life of humans but rather they did not
aware about it. Practicality is when the calculusis used to solve a problem in human

example in term of concepts is the application of limit. Limit is needed when
finding the closest value when the value of derivative of x is set to stay within the

sentence that define limit is that limit help us to find a finite value in a seemingly

will stop at the right spot.[2] You will slowing down to a point that it is very
difficult to see if your speed is still slowing down.[2] Theoretically, you would keep
approaching the stop forever meaning that infinitely if there are no other external

the French revolution. Which was when there were a series of social and economic
Chrissies that led to major poverty. The people during this time were planning to
overthrow the king to get there rights back. There were mass killings of people who
were seen as traitors or didn t believe in what the king did.

them in total. They marched to the palace of Versailles where the kin and queen were
staying. They shouted and demanded that the king come back top Paris with them.
They made him promise that he would give them the bread and food that they need to
survive.
Reign of terror
There was a new creation that the king was using to execute the people who had
committed treason or disrespected the republic of France in any way. The Guillotine
was a contraption that cut off people s heads. It was said to be a quick and painless
death and easier way to execute traitors. The reign of terror lasted from September
1793 until July 1794. Robespierre was one of the chief executes of the reign. Over
300,000 people were arrested and 17 thousand were executed. There were lots of
people who were wrongly executed because there neighbor wanted their land and told
the officials that they were guilty.

Freedman s Arguments And Summary
1.David Freedman sets out to disprove that processed foods are inherently bad for
you; counter arguing what Michael Pollan advocates. Freedman s set out to prove to
the readers that the praise wholesome, organic food receives, and the bashing that
processed junk food receives, might not be entirely true. The author argues against
Michael Pollan s opinion on processed food. To do this, he uses a combination of his
personal experiences, including in both Whole Foods and Trader Joe, and date he
has derived from his experiences in said stores.
2.Freedman s argument is that organic, wholesome food may not actually be
healthier than processed junk food. To argue against the common conception
regarding organic food, he uses a mixture of his ... Show more content on

I personally believe that Freedman represents these opposing views in these two
paragraphs adequately. Freedman states that there are studies that set out to show
that those who eat wholesomely tend to be healthier than people who live on fast
food and other processed food. He then says that the problem with those types of
studies is that there are notable non dietary differences that exist between those two
groups of people. He further explains that these types of differences include
propensity to exercise, smoking rates, air quality, and access to health care. He adds
that the people in these groups are sometimes eating completely different foods and
not the same types of foods subjected to different levels to different levels of
processing. There s a comparison he throws in to further validate his claim It s
comparing apples to Whoppers, instead of Whoppers to hand ground, grass fed beef
burgers with heirloom tomatoes, garlic aioli, and artisanal cheese. He ends this
paragraph with stating that because of such reasons, like those stated above, the
findings linking food type and health are quite unreliable, and constantly contradict
one another. His argument against these studies rises an eyebrow, because they are
legitimate inconsistences within said studies that just do not add up which is quite
worring because professional researchers are conducting the studies, but they can t
seem to reveal that there are several gaping holes in the evidence derived from their
The Influence Of CAD On Society Essay
Before computers there were hands and tools. Before hands and tools there were just
hands. Humans have always been designing and throughout human history drafting is
what became of it. With new technology in building during the earlier years drafting
needed to be changed to accommodate it. Humans have always been able to find
better ways to accomplish things. Drafting is no different.
Before people used tools to draw something they went to what we call now a General
Contractor with an idea and he had to come up with the rest. After a while the
contractors wanted more. Just an idea wasn t enough for them. Their clients
sometimes wouldn t like what they had built for them. So eventually the contractors

It is difficult to sketch on the computer because the computer is so accurate
(Friedman). It is not a good idea to draw a sketch accurately because between a
sketch and the final drawing things change drastically (Friedman). So it shouldn t be
perfect. It should be something a drafter can interpret in different ways.
To sketch a drawing an idea must first be thought of. Then once the idea has been
thought of the drafter begins with a piece of graph paper and a pencil. There are no
tools needed for a sketch. The boxes on the graph paper can be used as a guide and a
scale (Friedman). A sketch is just an estimation of the real thing. So one just
estimates, nothing else.
CADD is very hard to sketch in. Some of the more sophisticated programs have a
function where the mouse can act like a sketch pencil (Bethune, 13). Although this
seems like it might be like the pencil it is not. Mice are harder to keep straight and
even the lightweight drawing tasks may make the hand tired (Bethune, 13). Other
ways of getting a sketch on the computer are scanners, electronic pens or touch
pads. With the electronic pen, just point at the screen and that is where the dot,
line or shape shows up. However one moves the pen is what shows up. This can be
hard because a screen is at a weird angle, which makes drawing awkward. The touch
pad however can be bought to the size of the screen. These
Persuasive Essay On Gender Pay Gap
In our constitution we are all equal, but why are we not paid equally? The gender
wage gap movement will result in social change because it is bringing awareness to
women in the workplace getting paid lower than her male counterpart. On the other
hand, many other people may argue that the gap is not because of gender, it is because
menwork longer hours compared to women since they have children to take care of.
I believe that this movement could improve by making people more aware of the
through more examples such as the Women s U.S.A. Soccer Team wanting more pay
and equal pay.
The gender wage gap between men and women needs to be brought to people s
attention due to the cause of unequal amount of pay for the exact same job. Our
question is what is a gender pay gap? A gender wage gap is when you take the gap
between both men and women s pay and get a certain percentage and that is the
gap between the two. This is a definition of gender pay gap according to an
Australian Government article, A gender pay gap is the difference between
women s and men s earnings, expressed as a percentage of men s earnings.
Basically, you take the difference, or subtract, between men s and women s
earnings all over, divide, the men s earnings and you get a percentage of the gap if
there is any. Now, statistics have shown that the women s gap has narrowed some
since the 1980 s, but it still continues. Adult women showed that the wage gap is
smaller compared to the teen wage, 90 cents for every dollar made by a man. Said by
the article Fact Tank, ...adults ages 25 to 34, the 2015 wage gap is smaller.
Women in this group earned 90 cents for every dollar a man in the same age group
earned. Women within the age group of 25 to 34 gain 90 cents for every dollar a
man within the same age group earned. If you truly think about it sure the gap is
slightly smaller, but why is it not equal? They are around the same age and are
doing the same job, whether it be part time or full time. Now it was also stated
within this article that these women, by estimation, would have to work around 44
days extra in order for them to earn what their counterpart made in 2015. However,
how does it get like this? Is it possible that even with same or
Sports Violence in Relation to Preserving Values in...
Bench clearing brawls in baseball, bloody hockey fights, soccer mobs, post game
sports riots, and increasing injuries are all images of today s sports that are familiar
to us.
In recent years players and fans alike have shown increased aggression when it
comes to sporting events. One of the most disturbing trends in sports is the increasing
frequency and severity of violence. Injuries and deaths among participants are on the
rise, as are injuries and deaths among fans and spectators. Violence in sportsis an
important issue because sports themselves are an important aspect in our lives and
the society we live in.
Their importance, however, should not be greater than our concern about preserving

The social learning theory maintains that aggressive behavior is learned through
modeling and reinforced by rewards and punishments(171). Each of these theories
could play a role in the increasing violence in sports. Athletes may be seeing sports as
an outlet to vent there frustration and anger.
Young athletes often take sports heroes as role models and imitate their behavior,
which may lead to children imitating such aggressive behavior in their own
sporting activities. Many continue to argue that sports have always been violent
and that today things are no better or worse than they were years ago. However,
according to Berger, evidence contradicts this and sources show there are more
serious injuries and violent acts on and off the field in today s sports than there were
in the past(9 10). Violence in sports is not a new concept, but it is more prevalent
and harmful today than it was in the past(Yeager
126). There has been an increase in the frequency and seriousness of acts of
violence, which is most prevalent in team contact sports, such as ice hockey,
football, soccer, rugby, and even basketball. This is likely due to the increased
competitiveness in sports. The strive for competitiveness starts in youth sports and
only escalates in college and professional sports(Berger 12). The greater

The architecture of the church is based on a combination of Romanesque and
Byzantine elements. The cruciform plan of the church as well as the triple portal,
the Romanesque portal , are characteristic elements of the Romanesque architecture.
The use of barrel vaults and the bay in the interior are associated with the
construction of early medieval churches. The Byzantine influence is evident at the
round dome in the exterior and with use of mosaics in the interior. The general plan
of the church is a Latin cross and consists of four parts; the nave which is the main

Long Term Effects Of Inhalants To Teenagers
What are Inhalants?
Inhalants, also known as laughing gas , snappers , poppers , whippets , bold , and
rush , are chemicals found in many household items that can be inhaled on purpose;
that purpose being to get high.
They can be found in/are paint thinners, fingernail polish remover, degreasers, dry
cleaning fluids, gasoline, contact cement, hairspray, spray paint, deodorant spray,
vegetable oil sprays, and fabric protector spray, Butane lighters, propane tanks,
whipped cream dispensers, refrigerant gases, and anesthetics.
How can they be Used?
Inhalants can be used in many different ways. The way that they are used depends
on the type of inhalant. They can be snorted , or they can be sprayed directly into
one s mouth or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the main danger, however, of inhalants is their easy access; over 1,000 household
and industrial items are/contain inhalants. To a teenager, inhalants may seem worth
the risk, and many teens have risked it, but in the end, the bad outweighs the good
when it comes to these easy to obtain seemingly harmless drugs.
Long Term Effects?
If you do survive using inhalants your first time, (I m not saying if just to scare you,
many people really do die their first time using inhalants; 22% to be exact) and you
continue abuse of inhalants, then your brain cells will die, and you will have
permanent nerve damage, that will give you muscle spasms, and make easy,
everyday things hard for you, like walking, bending over, and talking. Inhalants can
also cause your major organs to fail, including your heart and your liver. You can
also get aplastic anemia, which slows your blood cell production.
According to my studies, one inhalant user stole a dog when he was high. This
proves that inhalants can cause people to make terrible decisions. So, if they are not
harmful in one, they are in another (this case being the sadness of a pet).
These people are clearly useless while they are intoxicated with inhalants. Do you
really want this for yourself? Do you want to be
The Expanding Demand for Energy and Other Services in...
Introduction
In today s modern society our needs and demands are infinite and fulfilling them can
become a daunting task for any developing country or nation. The Australian Federal
Government is confronted with these endless demands daily and must make
decisions that are both advantageous towards the Australian public and satisfies the
rudimentary requirements and necessities of the nation. Energy is a primary need
that the Australian public requires daily and the procedures of generating the
immense amounts of electricity required for powering every day necessities is
currently being produced by the usage of fossil fuels, which has been validated to be
an inefficient method of producing energy. Nuclear energy offers a resolution and...

Although the construction procedure of nuclear power plants will substantially deplete
the countries funds, they will eventually become a beneficial asset, producing more
kilowatts than coal, wind or solar (Burgess, 2013). As more plants are manufactured,
it s anticipated that construction costs will decline, making the expense of nuclear
generated electricity that much more interesting towards the general public, resulting
in a more profitable solution towards generating energy (Burgess, 2013). Aiding

Contribution Of Vladimir Lenin
To the Russian people Vladimir Lenin was an important historical figure and the
creator of the Soviet System. Lenin was not always a radical revolutionary, but he
transformed into one after reading the books that his older brother had in his
library. Lenin s older brother was executed as a radical by the regime which
created an early hatred for the Tsar. Lenin was the leader of the Bolshevik party
and helped to rally support to the party even while in exile through the multiple
pieces of writing that he produced. Lenin helped to promote the revolution in 1905
and was only stopped by the outbreak of World War One. While the tsarist
Government survived the revolution in 1905 they would fail to do so in the
February Revolution which occurred in 1917. After the Tsar fell a provisional
government was set up which floundered and failed while Lenin and his Bolsheviks
gained power. After being sent back to Russia by Germany, Lenin created his April
Thesis which said that the power should be transferred to his soviet socialist party. At
first, the Bolsheviks were a minority but by September 1917 they gained the majority
and took the power from the provisional government in the October Revolution. After
the Revolution, a civil war broke out between the Bolshevik Red army and the anti
Bolshevik White army. Which the Reds eventually won with the leadership of Leon
Trotskyand Vladimir Lenin. One of Lenin s most important contributions to the soviet
state was organizing a peace treaty
Causes Of Target s Growth
Over the years Target has established itself as the second largest discount store in
America. Falling behind Walmart, Target has experienced periods of strong growth
but has recently encountered problems that have caused concern with those within
the organization as well as external analysts. One of the biggest problems Target is
facing currently is generating consistent customer traffic into its stores as many of
their major departments are continuously loosing money and causing customers seek
out other product alternatives. A major contributor to this problem is that it is
spreading itself thin by offering too much without establishing a competitive
advantage and not firmly establishing itself in denser city locations. Just recently

But if it is going to improve on its recent losses, Target needs to start moving into
more developed areas with stores that are suited to providing its customers with
the products they want and need, but not be overwhelming for customers. Some of
the major problems target will face with this alternative will be costs of
development. Land that is closer to larger populations is going to cost more as
well as the increase in permits and the cost of contractors to create the right store
for the given environment. Another issue Target could face would be choosing
which products they should sell in these new stores, because of the limited
developmental space available, the products chosen will have to be limited as well.
But by moving to more populated areas Target will be able to reach more people and
begin competing with the local stores that are taking away its business. Additionally,
closer locations will provide additional convenience for its

The Benefits of Integrated Marketing Communications
In today s multi media world driven by computer and Internet technologies,
communications has changed drastically. Today s communications landscape is a
multitude of media and tools wherein messages can be communicated in real time,
making message reception and sending occur almost simultaneously, within a period
of seconds or even milliseconds. Thus, the communications landscape has become a
dynamic realm wherein people from different parts of the world can communicate
and share information instantaneously. It is in this context that integrated marketing
communications thrives and flourishes in the fields of marketing studies and
strategic planning today. Integrated marketing communications (IMC) is the
synergistic combination of different media and communicationtools, developing a
marketing program that aims to reach target consumers most effectively and
efficiently. It involves development of different marketing strategies such as
advertising campaigns, public relations, and sales promotion, among many others.
Through the above mentioned marketing strategies, IMC can implement pull and
push promotion strategies. Push strategies include promotions that are directed to
consumers, pushing them to subscribe or buy a specific product, service, and in the
case of information technology, solutions to technical challenges or problems.
Advertisements through traditional media such as television, radio, and print are
examples of push promotional strategies. Pull strategies,
Architecture Of Anglo Saxon Architecture
Early Britain was an era of take overs and violence , overall it was a time of
darkness , but despite the darkness this Anglo Saxon era was a time filled with a new
culture and government . Anglo Saxons came to Britain sometime during AD 425
450 and lasted until 1066 . When the Romans left Britain , new settlement began .
With the new population in Britain , there was a need for housing too , the Anglo
Saxon architecture however , did not start until the mid fifth century . Anglo Saxon
architecture is a different style than modern architecture .
The Anglo Saxon era was not as advanced as we are today , meaning they had to
make do with the resources they had . The resources the had were any natural
resources around them or materials that were man made . The Anglo Saxon homes
were not built to last , but to provide shelter . Since the housing was meant to last .
Wattle and Daub has been used to create a filler for the wooden frames . It used

smeared on the walls . Once this dries it is like plaster and can even be painted .

Persuasive Essay On Internet Safety
The three pieces are focused on internet safety and how/ should we make the internet

Balkan published on Friday the 15th of august 2014) outlines arguments made by
various acclaimed members of society such as the education advisor Anthony smythe.
Balkam used smythe to convey idea that the internetis a lawless jungle too dangerous

Balkam furthers this argument with ideas from the non profit FOSI (Family Online

saying that this is selfless institute that we should listen to and makes the audience
feel more obliged to take their opinion into hand. The FOFI says that they welcome

impact socially and economically onto the society.
As a potential solution, assistive technology (AT) has always been seen as a

With the constraints of the suggested systems, the authors propose an idea to
provide a solution that overcomes the problems stated above. The proposition is to
develop a nonintrusive system that is able to recognise electrical activities via
electrical appliances by monitoring the signals from the main panel. This approach
is less intrusive as it only requires one sensor; it is able to support cognitively
impaired people in their ADL by sending prompts via electrical devices. The idea of
the nonintrusive system is an extension but focuses on electrical appliances and how
it can send prompts to the patients of it also focuses on the previous work of the
nonintrusive appliance loading monitoring system (NIALM).
To justify the idea the proposed, a series of experiments are undertaken. This consists
of implementing the system into a real smart home with a single power analyser at
the main electrical panel. The assistive system was tested rigorously against real life
scenarios, related to morning ADL to test the accuracy and how competent the system
is to assist patients in a real life context, algorithm for assistance is implemented

The Impact On Canadian Actions Throughout The 20th
Century
In the words of John F. Kennedy, communism has never come to power in a country
that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both . Canada in the 20th century has
perfectly portrayed the meaning of the quote by treating communism inconsistently
throughout history. Communism refers to the economic system in which the
ownership of all property, and the means of production and distribution is commonly
owned and controlled by the community including the workers, as well as the state.
This system greatly landed an impact on Canadian actions throughout the 20th
century. Documentation of such actions is found in several historic events:
Post World War I
пЂWinnipeg General Strike
пЂEstevan Massacre
пЂFormation of the Communist Party
пЂOn to Ottawa Strike
Post World War II
пЂIgor Gouzenko
пЂIron Curtain

пЂNORAD/DEW line
пЂWARSAW Pact
пЂAvro Arrow

пЂTruman Doctrine
пЂUnited Nations Security Council
пЂKorean War
пЂVietnam
пЂCuban Missile Crisis
History has shown in what way after the First World War, the Canadian government
has responded to several communism uprisings events. The Winnipeg General
Strike is one example, which took place in 1919. It was a labour action taken by the
workers for better wages and working conditions, for recognition of their unions and
for the principle of collective bargaining. Workers were becoming frustrated with the
Labour and Trade Unions and united it to make One Big Union. This resulted in a
strike that occurred
Historical Background Of Manufacturing Smes

1.2 Background to the study (60)
Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) have become increasingly important to
Zimbabwe s economic growth. Given the increasing number of retrenches due to the
economic downturn Zimbabwe experienced, SMEs offer the best alternative means
of livelihood for most people. There is therefore, need to support the growth of this
sector so that it contributes more meaningfully to national economic development.
One of the major problems Practical Action Southern Africa has established as an
impediment to the growth of SMEs is lack of proper working capital management
systems. This presents a major constraint to their financial performance and their
survival. Given the current economic hardships hampering economic progress in
Zimbabwe the SMEs industry in one of the key industries where the economy is
pinning its hopes. However due to the stringent requirements in the financial sector it
is proving to be very difficult for the small firms to secure enough funds to
sufficiently finance their operations,
Pros And Cons Of Banning Football
Banning football is like the Prohibition. Just like with the Prohibition, there is
much danger and controversy surrounding football. People that think football
should be banned make a good case for the ban because of long term illnesses such
as CTE or ALS which could physically disable a person for life. On the other hand,
football teaches life skills such as teamwork or trust. 0 Even though football is not
the safest sport, that does not mean it is too dangerous to ever play again. Even
though football is not the safest sport, that does not mean it is too dangerous to
ever play again. The game of football is an intense sport { even if you re a kicker ]
but I do not think it should be banned . Banning football is like Prohibition , you
will upset a lot of people and some will go crazy . There are plenty of sports that
don t get banned like baseball . In baseball you could get hit with a pitch , get a bat
flung at you , and get in a bench clearing brawl but no one makes a case about that .
Football is a game I love to watch and play . People that do think football should be
banned make good case about like long term illness such as CTE or ALS and could
physically disable you . The reason you shouldn t ban football is that the game can
teach young men { or women } life skills such as teamwork or trust and I believe
every young man should play some form of football whether it s touch football ,
tackle football , or just throwing a ball around with your friends . Though some
people can t play football because there parents won t let them or have a health
issue but in my opinion everybody should be open to playing or watching football
. Plenty of people hate football because it s too stressful but playing and watching
football has taught me one thing about stress : Your stressed watching a game and
you re not stressed playing in one . The NFL has made many rule changes
regarding hits to the head and many other levels like college and high school
leagues have made changes as well . The reason for concussion testing is because of

Howard Becker Social Control Theory
According to Howard Becker, there are three main steps to becoming a marijuana
smoker. First, the individual must learn to properly smoke marijuana to yield the real
effects. Second, the effects must be recognized and the individual must be able to
connect the effects to the drug use. Finally, and arguably most important for Becker s
theory, the individual must learn to enjoy the side effects of marijuana, and its use
for pleasure. If these three steps are not met, then the individual will no longer smoke
marijuana. Becker attempts to uncover how the changes of attitudes and experiences
affect the individual s possibility of smoking marijuana. Becker s point of view is
more micro level, looking at the individual s history and how they think... Show more

Becker does highlight some important points in that the individual should
understand the effects of the drug and most importantly, should like the side
effects of marijuana. However, Becker downplays and in some cases completely
ignores the impact that the individual s environment has on whether or not they
will smoke marijuana. Becker simplifies other people in his theory to someone
who is an experienced marijuana smoker, or in most cases a helper to new
smokers. While Social Control Theory would agree with the experienced smokers
being of importance to new and uneducated smokers, the theory would also put
more emphasis on why the experienced smokers are important. Social Control
Theory considers also that the role of peer pressure, and how some individuals will
only smoke marijuana while at a social gathering, or only smokes with a certain
group of people. Becker certainly neglects the opportunity smokers, who are the
smokers who only smoke at parties. This group could certainly follow the three steps
that Becker has outlined, but Becker s theory fails to explain why those specific
people do not smoke alone. Social Control Theory would also relate to the person s
attachment, commitment, involvement, or belief to marijuana
Sex Offender Recidivism Statistics
Sex crimes are a major problem in the United States, especially in certain states
such as California. Legislators have passed numerous laws to try to reduce the
number of victims. One of the measurements taken to reduce recidivism is the sex
offender registry, which is a system designed to keep track of those convicted of a
sex offense. There are websites now available that contain the sex offenders name,
address, and photograph. The registries main purpose is to prevent future sex crimes
and to reduce recidivism. The sex registry was set up with good intentions; however
over the years more and more people are on the list without fitting the definition of a
sex offender, making the registry unfair and ineffective. Sex offender registry... Show

These offenders are people who had consensual sexual relationships with a minor.
Sometimes the offender is also a minor, but is older than the other partner. The
older person is then charged with statutory rape and are forced to register as a sex
offender even though there was no force used. This law is in place to prevent older
persons from taking advantage of a minor; however, this is completely unfair,
especially if the offender is also a minor. Some opponents might say that Romeo
and Juliet offenders should be on the registry because their sole purpose is to take
advantage of minor to meet their needs. This is true and all Romeo and Juliet
offenders should pay for the offense in some way; however, their names should not
be on the registry and definitely not for life. Alternatives penalties include paying a
fine, doing community service, going to counseling, and have the their name on
the registry for a short term if the age gap is greater than five years or if the offense
is committed more than once. For most offenders, these are foolish mistakes that
they made in their teenage years, and therefore shouldn t pay for it all their life. In
addition, there are couples who are happily married even though there is an age gap
of five or seven

пїјHuge amounts of data are collected nowadays from different application domains
and are not feasible to analyze all these data manually. Knowledge Discovery in
Databases (KDD) is the nontrivial process of identifying valid, novel, potentially
useful, and ultimately understandable patterns in data. In recent years, soft computing
became more and more attractive for the researchers, who work in the related
research field of data mining. This paper concerns primarily about how to use soft
computing model to extract knowledge from data mining (database). The data
mining preprocessing techniques have been applied on the available data to clean it
in proper form to extract the knowledge from the data. Thereafter, statistical analysis
and soft computing techniques have been applied on the clean data to select the
preferable model. The decision of the preferable model has to be achieved based on
the maximum number of minimum value of the parameters of residual analysis and
average error. The preferable model has been used to extract the knowledge from the
data mining. The goal of the
The Simpsons Stereotypes And Stereotypes
The Simpsons is an animated American television show know worldwide. It was
written by George Groening, and it is about the daily life of a middle class family
conform by Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Throughout this show are sent
messages about race, gender and class. The Simpsons portraits several stereotypes
with the purpose of ashamed society, that is why is catalogue as a satirical show. But
there are stereotypes that are not perceived as something to be ashamed of. For
example, messages and stereotypes of masculinityare accepted and desired for most
Americans. Michael Kimmel essay the guy code explains how society defines
manhood as the relentless repudiation of the feminity , and how men are supposed to
exude an aura of daring and aggression to gain other men acceptance. The characters
from the Simpsonssuch as Homer and Bart reflects this concept of masculinity as they
are dumb, insensitive and risk takers.
The characters from the Simpsons avoid being called girl or gay by suppressing
their emotions. According to Kimmel the greatest fear of men is being perceive as
effeminate. Following the guy code , men are supposed to show no emotions at all
, show no taste in art or music , dress terrible , never listen to a thing a woman is
saying and express unquenchable sexual interest toward women (Kimmel 545).
Homer follows this code as he express little emotions, rarely listen to his wife Marge
when she talks to him, dress basically
The Buddha From Gandhara And Theotokos Of Vladimir
After looking at all the themes listed, the theme of Picturing the Divine: Gods,
Goddesses, Prophets, Buddhas, and Saints caught my eyes. Out of this theme, I
picked two incredible works of art, Meditating Buddha and Vladimir Virgin. When
you first look and read the title of the theme I choose, it may cross your mind that my
theme has something to do with religion. Meditating Buddha from Gandhara and
Theotokos of Vladimirmay come from different cultural traditions; however they both
share the same general theme of picturing the divines.
The Meditating Buddha or Seated Buddha from Gandhara is an early statue of
Buddha from Gandhara, Pakistan. This work of art is from the Culture of Buddhism
and was made around the 2nd or 3rd century. Buddhism still exists today and is one
of the leading religions in the world, which explains why the statue is still well
known to this day and why it is still represented over and over again throughout
history. The statue is now located in Room 33, British Museum in London.
On the other hand, Vladimir Virgin is a medieval Byzantine iconof the Virgin and
Child. Virgin Mary is seen as the holy protector of Russia. Like I said earlier, it is
one of the most respected Orthodox icons and an early example of iconography of
the Eleusa type. The icon is displayed in a gallery called Tretyakov Gallery in
Moscow. The icon was believed to be painted in Constantinople sometime around the
11th and 12th century. The theme I picked is associated with
The First Chronically Sick Child
Joey was the first chronically sick child that I have ever worked with. He is two
years old and since he was born he has spent the majority of his life in and out of a
hospital. His mother and father, parents of three other children, have moved
homes to be closer to medical help in the case of an emergency. They had to make
sure that their health insurance would cover the ambulance s driving distance
from their house to a hospital. They had to make sure they lived near a police
station in the case of a power outage, which would prohibit Joey s life sustaining
medical equipment to work. Joey has tracheal stenosis, diagnosed at 3 weeks of
life. A tracheostomy was placed at diagnosis and now 2 years later he still lives
with it. He recently had laryngeal surgery but still no one knows when the day will
be that he will live without a tracheostomy. Because Joey has been in and out of a
hospital, at 2 years old he has already developed C. difficile and laryngitis. Joey s
mothers pregnancy was healthy and full term. The parents had no forewarning of
the medical battles they would face. I had the privilege of learning about Joey
through the eyes of his father, at his bedside for my entire shift on that Monday
morning. A lot of things were racing through my heart when I first walked in to
introduce myself. What does a chronically sick child look like? Would I know what
to say when my patient can t communicate back to me? Would I know what to do
with a tracheostomy, vital for
The Significance Of Family In Harry Potter And The...
Unit 1: Families Essay Assignment Family can have numerous meanings
depending on the individual defining the term. The term can exclusively mean
blood relatives, or it can branch out to close friends. It just so happens that one of
the more important themes in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone is family.
However, the defining factor of family for Harry, the protagonist of the novel, are
not his blood relatives. For Harry, his family shares no aspect of a family tree, his
family are his exceptionally bosom friends. Deplorably, unfortunate events
plagued Harry from experiencing a mother s love, or a father s guidance. Harry s
parents were murdered by the antagonist of the novel, Voldemort, leaving Harry
without suitable blood relatives. His only living relatives are his Aunt, Uncle, and
cousin; and they are less than welcoming to Harry. His Uncle, Aunt, and cousin
often spoke about Harry ... as though he wasn t there or rather, as though he was
something very nasty that couldn t understand them, like a slug (Rowling 27 28).
Although this assemblage of people are related to Harry, they can scarcely be
characterized as Harry s family. Families are meant to fulfill and support emotional
and social needs, as well as protect and care for each other. So who is Harry s family?
If narrowed down his family can be defined as Hermonie Granger and Ronald
Weasley. However, his family members can be extended further to Ronald s mother,
too. These individuals all support
Comparing Chingachgook And Uncas In The Last Of The
Mohicans
The relationship between Chingachgook and Uncas in The Last of The Mohicans,
is pretty difficult. Yes, they are father and son. Chingachgook is a noble savage.
He symbolizes qualities of Indian race and accepts friendships and lives in peace
with white men. Chingachgook desires Uncas to be strong and carry the blood line
of Mohican. The way Uncas, the youngest member of the tribe, see s his father is
not only an honorable man, but his own leader, a guide. They have deep respect for
each other throughout the whole context. He always wants his father to be there for
him, and to consider his hopes and wishes Uncas and his father, are the only two
members living of the tribe. They are alike in many ways as being sharp and
adventurous. Chingachgook

It requires a deep understanding of Nehru's life, his role in India's struggle for independence, and his contributions as the country's first Prime Minister. To begin with, extensive research is necessary to gather accurate information about Nehru's early life, education, political ideologies, and leadership style. • 2. How Did Josephine Baker Impact Society A brilliant woman once said, I believe if the white and colored people could get together and be left alone, they would understand each other and consequently love each other (Josephine Baker). Originally born Freda Josephine McDonald, Baker lived an oppressed early life as an African American girl with little to hardly any money. At the time, African Americans faced hardships due to the white supremacists that believed dark colored people would not be of equal value to caucasians. Baker decided that she could overcome her persecution by moving to France and making herself into an idol. She was an independent and courageous woman who opened the doors for equality to many. Josephine Baker greatly impacted America due to her influence on women; therefore, leading to more women involved in education and working, her civil rights speeches that opened opportunities for equal races, as well as advocating for equality among men and women. She was the needed microphone and picture of freedom that they so desperately wanted. If Josephine Baker had never changed the way society saw equality, then women would still be in the houses, men would be making most of the money, and racial minorities would feel endangered at every

That is expressly ruled out! Justice Minister Allan Rock, 1994. Guns are highly controlled in Canada for a reason, because if they were not, where would Canada be now? Canada would be in anarchy as they slowly watch their country slip into violence and on to its impending doom(Hyperbole). To think back on life, whether 19 years of age or 90 years of age, has there ever been a time where safety is found in holding a gun, or a situation that felt a gun would have been necessary? Would Canadian citizens feel safer with the Trudeau government implementing these legislations in? To be honest, they would, Justin made some very valid points and these did help him win a majority government. Lastly, if people feel unsafe with firearms they possess they can simply rid of them, when the right time comes, through a Gun Amnesty Drive . This is where people can drop off a firearm that you possess that is inherited or simply, no longer in usage. That means that people can use a gun amnesty drive to drive away the worry of that weapon crashing into the wrong hands (Verbal Irony). Toronto Police Inspector Chris Boddy feels that any time the Toronto police removes one gun out of a neighbourhood, [it is] a good day, and [we have] a lot of good days . Due to Gun laws in Canada, programs like the Gun Amnesty program in Toronto, and similar ones around the country are able to happen, which gives the police a chance to get ahead against criminals and gangs. Do listen though, the guns collected via these programs are not repurposed for the use of police officers, but are destroyed, ridding of anyway for the guns collected to be brought out onto the street. To bring this all into a smaller picture, because of the regulations set by the Trudeau government, and because of the programs available to help destroy unwanted

Shakespeare s use of the Renaissance Idea of Fatalism and Imagery in King Lear In a play about individual tragedies, fatalism plays an important part. Shakespeare effectively uses cosmic imagery to define his characters and to explore the idea of journeys linked to self discovery by relating it to the imagery of rotating circles. Shakespeare uses Renaissance theology to explain character motivation. In the 16th century there was a great belief in astronomy. People believed in the harmony of the spheres and they were ruled by this idea of thhe natural alignment of the nine planets in their orbits. Shakespeare incorporates this into King Lear in highlighting Edgar and Gloucester s superstitious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edmund turns away from the belief of the alignment of planets and harmonies and towards nature as that is all he can be really sure of. The fact that Edmund doesn t believe in spherical predominance proves that he is different to the society around him. Shakespeare takes every opportunity to emphasise this to distinguish evil from good in the play putting Edmund forward as a character who is out of harmony. When Gloucester predicts that eclipses in the sun and moon suggesting a bad omen, Edmund casts aspersions on this idea, accusing the world of foppery , describing it as excellent because he sees it as a weakness that he can exploit from his anti human point of view. Edmund is also stating that people are fops or fools because they blame their evil and wrong doings, which is really part of their character our own behaviour , on the cosmos. Even though Edmund does rightly say that that when we are sick in fortune often surfeits of our own behaviour we make guilty of our disasters, the sun, the moon and the stars, as if we were villains on necessity, fools by heavenly compulsion (Act I.2.117 26) He declares that men are fools if they evade responsibility for their actions by blaming the stars He ultimately decides that man is what he is by choice, not by the stars and that he is evil. He appreciates no fate, only free will. He says that all cosmic followers

As a son, it was your duty to respect your father, and by doing so, you were honouring your ancestors. Anchises who was Aeneas s father and a symbol of Aeneas s Trojan heritage, was extremely important in his life. Although Anchises dies during the journey from Troy to Italy, he continues in spirit to help his son fulfil fate s command, especially by guiding Aeneas through the underworld. When, in the underworld, Aeneas s father, Anchises, presents a tableau of the events that will lead to Rome s pinnacle, Aeneas comes to understand his historical role with greater clarity and immediacy. This shows us that the relationship between Aeneas and his father Anchises was positive; as his father guided him along the right path and helped him to uncover his fate. Through the relationship of Aeneas and his father, Anchises, we also are shown a glimpse of Aeneas relationship with his son, Ascanius. The action centres around Aeneas s determination to fulfil his destiny if not for himself, then for his son,
  • 6. Family in Night by Ellie Wiesel What does the word family mean to you? In my opinion, family means everything to me. It s the people I knew since I was born, who I know I can turn to anytime needed. Everyone has their own definition of family, it can be positive, negative, or even both. In the world s society everyone is born into a family, it can be a traditional, a un blood related, or an extended family. No matter how well a family relationship can be there is no such thing as a perfect family. In many classic pieces of literature, many writers use themes of conflict between the children and their parents. It can be conflicts towards each other or conflicts the family experiences together. In many well know novels, many characters from tragic events of abuse, cruelty, and negligent events kept their courage to survive through terrible events. The story of Ellen Foster Kaye Gibbons takes a reader inside a story of young orphaned girl, who is passed down to every family until the she is able to find the perfect one she fit into. In the classic novel Night author Elie Wieselwrites a historical piece about a young boy s experience in a concentration camp. Losing half of his family the young boy Eliezer has to fight with his father through suffering tactics from the Nazis. The classic play Romeo and Juliet , William Shakespeare writes a tragic piece about two young lovers being forced to disobey family orders to be with each other. In all three pieces of literature, the characters struggle

  • 14. Alternative Energy For Renewable Energy Sources Algae Biofuel For many years the world has depended on one form of energy for transportation, and that is fossil fuels. This means as our demand for these fossil fuels increases our supply will decrease dramatically. As supply dwindles and costs rise, nations will be forced to utilize alternative energy sources. Coal, both non renewable and environmentally destructive, is the most likely near term candidate for replacing oil as a primary energy source. In order to achieve a secure and stable energy supply that does not cause environmental damage, renewable energy sources must be explored and promising technologies should be developed. Biodiesel derived from green algae biomass has the potential for high volume, cost effective production. It can be carbon neutral and produced intensively on relatively small areas of marginal land. The quality of the fuel product is comparable to petroleum diesel and can be incorporated with minimal change into the existing fuel infrastructure. Innovative techniques, including the use of industrial and domestic waste as fertilizer, could be applied to further increase biodiesel productivity. There is now research going into renewable resources to replace these harmful fossil fuels. One of the newest and most innovative of these resources is algal biofuel. (Olds, 2006). Also known as algae biofuel, and oilgae, the majority of algae are photosynthetic so water, carbon dioxide, light, and minerals are necessary for growth (Olds, 2006).

Reactive Attachment Disorder is a fairly uncommon mental disorder where the child (onset is usually before age five) has severe disturbances in social relatedness with others (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014). This results in the child not turning to a primary caregiver (e.g. mother) for comfort, protection, or support. This behavior of not seeking support from a primary caregiver is related to the main diagnostic feature of the disorder, which is underdeveloped attachment (DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013). As a result of underdeveloped attachments with the primary caregiver, the child will display aggressive and hostile towards the mother an may even seek attachment with strangers (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014; Speltz, McClellan, DeKlyen, Jones, 1999). Altogether, there are six main diagnostic criteria for Reactive Attachment

The landmass prevalent in different regions denoted the type of species that existed within its boundaries. Some Dinosaurs were herbivores; therefore their teeth and digestive systems were developed to handle the plants they consumed. The planet at the time was covered with green plantations that the animals fed on. Their sprawling posture that Dinosaurs possessed depicted their ability to eat leaves on high branches and twigs. Other Dinosaurs survived on meat from other animals. A famous example includes Tyrannosaurus Rex (Kays and Wilson). The animal jaws and muscles were very strong with pointed teeth. This enhanced its hunting skills as well as helped with feeding. During this period there were a lot of herbivores roaming the earth (Johnson). Africa, Asia and Europe were the major continents. Through splitting, other continents were formed. Water bodies, such as the Mediterranean Sea that is found between Europe and Africa, separated these regions. Thus, dinosaurs were distributed sparingly within these continents. There were many different species of dinosaurs, such as Megalosaurus, Herrerasaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex. The gender wage gap movement will result in social change because it is bringing awareness to women in the workplace getting paid lower than her male counterpart. On the other hand, many other people may argue that the gap is not because of gender, it is because menwork longer hours compared to women since they have children to take care of. I believe that this movement could improve by making people more aware of the through more examples such as the Women s U.S.A. Soccer Team wanting more pay and equal pay. The gender wage gap between men and women needs to be brought to people s attention due to the cause of unequal amount of pay for the exact same job. Our question is what is a gender pay gap? A gender wage gap is when you take the gap between both men and women s pay and get a certain percentage and that is the gap between the two. This is a definition of gender pay gap according to an Australian Government article, A gender pay gap is the difference between women s and men s earnings, expressed as a percentage of men s earnings. Basically, you take the difference, or subtract, between men s and women s earnings all over, divide, the men s earnings and you get a percentage of the gap if there is any. Now, statistics have shown that the women s gap has narrowed some since the 1980 s, but it still continues. Adult women showed that the wage gap is smaller compared to the teen wage, 90 cents for every dollar made by a man. Said by the article Fact Tank, ...adults ages 25 to 34, the 2015 wage gap is smaller. Women in this group earned 90 cents for every dollar a man in the same age group earned. They are around the same age and are doing the same job, whether it be part time or full time. Now it was also stated within this article that these women, by estimation, would have to work around 44 days extra in order for them to earn what their counterpart made in 2015. Inhalants can also cause your major organs to fail, including your heart and your liver. You can also get aplastic anemia, which slows your blood cell production. According to my studies, one inhalant user stole a dog when he was high. This proves that inhalants can cause people to make terrible decisions. So, if they are not harmful in one, they are in another (this case being the sadness of a pet). These people are clearly useless while they are intoxicated with inhalants. Do you really want this for yourself? Do you want to be

Lenin was not always a radical revolutionary, but he transformed into one after reading the books that his older brother had in his library. Lenin s older brother was executed as a radical by the regime which created an early hatred for the Tsar. Lenin was the leader of the Bolshevik party and helped to rally support to the party even while in exile through the multiple pieces of writing that he produced. Lenin helped to promote the revolution in 1905 and was only stopped by the outbreak of World War One. While the tsarist Government survived the revolution in 1905 they would fail to do so in the February Revolution which occurred in 1917. After the Tsar fell a provisional government was set up which floundered and failed while Lenin and his Bolsheviks gained power. After being sent back to Russia by Germany, Lenin created his April Thesis which said that the power should be transferred to his soviet socialist party. At first, the Bolsheviks were a minority but by September 1917 they gained the majority and took the power from the provisional government in the October Revolution. After the Revolution, a civil war broke out between the Bolshevik Red army and the anti Bolshevik White army. Which the Reds eventually won with the leadership of Leon Trotskyand Vladimir Lenin. Land that is closer to larger populations is going to cost more as well as the increase in permits and the cost of contractors to create the right store for the given environment. The term can exclusively mean blood relatives, or it can branch out to close friends. It just so happens that one of the more important themes in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone is family. However, the defining factor of family for Harry, the protagonist of the novel, are not his blood relatives. For Harry, his family shares no aspect of a family tree, his family are his exceptionally bosom friends.
