Running Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of running presents a unique challenge, particularly when
attempting to infuse personal experiences, factual information, and engaging insights into the
narrative. Running, as a topic, is seemingly straightforward, yet delving deeper unveils layers of
complexity that demand thorough exploration.
To begin with, one must decide on the angle from which to approach the topic. Is it a personal
reflection on the joys and challenges of running? An exploration of the physiological and
psychological benefits? Or perhaps an analysis of its cultural significance and evolution over
time? Each angle requires careful consideration and research to develop a coherent and
compelling argument.
Furthermore, writing about running necessitates a balance between anecdotal evidence and
empirical data. While personal anecdotes can add depth and authenticity to the essay, they must
be supplemented with scientific research and expert opinions to lend credibility and authority to
the arguments presented.
Moreover, capturing the essence of the running experience through words alone can be a
daunting task. Describing the euphoria of crossing the finish line, the rhythmic pounding of feet
on pavement, or the sense of camaraderie among fellow runners requires a mastery of language
and imagery.
Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and tired tropes commonly associated
with the topic of running. It's easy to fall into the trap of rehashing familiar themes like
perseverance, determination, and pushing one's limits without offering any fresh insights or
perspectives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of running demands a nuanced approach that
combines personal reflection, factual analysis, and creative expression. It's a task that requires
dedication, research, and skillful storytelling to truly do justice to the subject matter.

Consequentialism
Introduction:
For this Unit 2 assignment I have chosen the the ethical type Consequentialism. This
is defined as Consequentialism: An action is morally right if the consequences of that
action are more favorable than unfavorable. (ref 1)
After looking at the definition of the ethical type of Consequentialism, I would like
to give a short example in my own words what I understand Consequentialism is.
Consequentialism is the ethical reasoning that would apply to a situation where the
needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or what is less evil or bad in any
particular situation ? You would make that choice based on the ethical type
Consequentialism. So in my life I believe that I have had to make ethical decisions
based on this ethical type. Whether it be at work at home with the family or with
friends. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I want to give you a real life example that happened to me 30 years ago when I was
living and working in Germany. Now we had a group of guys that would love to go
to the disco on Saturday nights in Germany. Now I lived in Germany and could drive
but it was always a German guy that drove and DID NOT drink. One day they asked
me to be the driver, I happily agreed and off we went. At the disco I DRANK !
because in the USA the crime or punishment to drink and drive was not as severe as
it was in Germany ! But not only that it was for a German ethically NOT acceptable
to drink and drive where as in The USA it was not considered as critical or it did
not become an ethical issue. So I drank.. Now after the disco closed and we went to
the car the Germans had noticed that I was drunk and DID not get into the car ! Wow
talk about great ethics and ethics of the Consequentialism type. It was ETHICALLY
impossible for them to get in the car. Instead they considered me a idiot and we had
to walk 10 miles back to town ! 30 years ago NO one
Many Mysteries Lie in the Olmec Civilization Essay
The Olmec Civilization The Olmec civilization: Starting from 1400 B.C to an
abrupt end to 300 B.C. Many mysteries lie in the Olmec civilization and seem to
never be recovered. But, there is a small portion of evidence supporting the
existence of a civilization. The history of the civilization this is really broken up.
They lived in the tropical lowlands in Mexico known today as Veracruz and
Tabasco. They were known as the rubber people because they were known for their
discovery on natural rubber. They started out like most civilizations: mostly hunting
and the only thing they farmed was corn, beans and squash. Later on, they cultivate
many more plants. The time of the Olmecs will be divided into four different ages:

These monuments can range from three to nine feet tall and some weighing over
twenty tons. Weird thing is, these monuments were moved from locations as far as
sixty miles away! Also weird, most aren t even known what they re supposed to
represent. Some believe they are rulers, but truly, only fifteen have been known so
far. The earlier ones show altars or thrones and were carved to represent heads.
Many of the heads were intentionally destroyed, buried, or moved to new places, we
don t know when or why. The maybe evidence for times of warfare. It also might
show evidence of some type of leadership since there has to be a reason for these
monuments. The type of leadership here might be comparable to the Mississippians.

similar to San Lorenzo with the clay mounds, courts, basalt ponds, drains, and
heads. But, there was a different big attraction: a pyramid. It rose to about 98 feet
tall. It was like all other pyramids with a square base. It is debated about when it was

Theme Of The Circus Animals Desertion
The work of William Butler Yeats is full of descriptive, evocative imagery, deep
personal feelings and strong political opinions. Yeats sets up dynamic contrasts in
every one of his poems which for me makes his poetry interesting and thought
provoking. I found these traits particularly evident in The Circus Animals Desertion
as Yeats discusses a variety of poems, prose and plays written by himself throughout
his life. These works of art represent the full breadth of Yeats work The themes of
life, death immortality and of conflicting dualities. Bloom (1970) proposes the theory
that Yeats shares with the Romantic poets a conviction that the most poetic images
are necessarily those of unfulfilled and unfillable desire and according to Bloom
Yeats shares with Shelley his deepest fear of growing old and losing his ability to
write beautiful meaningful poetryand to be immortalised through his work. This
genuine self doubt in his ability is particularly evident in this poem. The resignation
and fear is implicit in the concluding rhyming couplet in each stanza.,... Show more

Like many of Yeats final poems, the tone is weary and melancholy. Being but a
broken man The title The Circus Animals Desertion is a metaphor and evokes the
tone and theme of abandonment, as if he, as the performer has run out of tricks,
doubting his genius. Yeats discusses his previous work in order to inspire new
work in his old age, this aspect is seen clearly in his other later poems such as
sailing to Byzantium in which he wishes to be preserved as art and An acre of grass
in which he demands inspiration Grant me an old man s frenzy . There is no journey
to a sudden realisation as Yeats conclusion merely confirms his initial thoughts in the
poem s introduction, that he must be satisfied with the heart . He is searching for
truth and finds it in In the foul rag and bone shop of the
Was The Tang Dynasty A Success
The Tang dynasty was a success. The Tang dynasty was a success for many reasons.
It had a great culture, many advancements, and it developed its religion. First, the
Tang dynasty had a great culture. The most important part of the Tang dynasty s
culture would be it s arts and literature. They had many influential poets and poetry
(which you had to master to be in the government), they had a lot of beautiful
artwork, and they had opera. This to me sounds like a success because they had a
very good culture. Second, they had many new inventions. They had things like
gunpowder, woodblock printing, porcelain advancements, and tea. These were very
useful because gunpowder opened the doorway to new technology like guns,
explosives, and even fire works.
Notes On The Scatter Plot Summary
Notes on the Scatter Plots
The different vowel qualities are noted by the color on the scatter plot. For words that
have multiple monophthongs, the underlined vowel is the one being plotted at that
particular point.
Monophthong Observations One immediately striking feature of my realizations of
these monophthongs is my fronting of the close back vowel [u]. This vowel, present
in ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) , has shifted to a position that is more
front than the near close back vowel [КЉ], and more front than even the central mid
vowels [Й™] and [Йђ]. We discussed this possible [u] fronting in class, and from
these particular samples, I think it would not be absurd to say that the vowel I have
for ( removed HTML ) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vowel now has a F2 F1 value similar to the central vowels, and ends up being less
front.
R Colored Vowel Observations After plotting the data on the R Colored Vowels, I
realized that what I titled my series didn t quite match up with the actual values of
the formants. As such, I changed what symbols I used for the different vowel
qualities. For instance, the lab report guide suggested that the vowel in ( removed
HTML ) was [ЙЄ]. Yet my recorded F2 F1 axis value for ( removed HTML ) (2210)
was higher in comparison to the words with a monophthong [ЙЄ] (1625 1870), and
therefore more fronted. I then titled the series [iЙ№] to reflect this frontness, There
was a similar situation with the vowel in ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML )
. I compared the F1 values in this series to the F1 values of the [Й›] vowel, which
should be at the same height as [Й”]. The F1 value of the ( removed HTML ) value
was higher by a degree of two hundred Hz. For a second check, I looked at the
Assignment 4 packet, which had a plot of American English vowels. The F1 listed
for the[Й”] vowel was 550 Hz, which was again much higher than my recorded
vowels for ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) . I then determined that at least
for r coloring, I use an [o] vowel. Some generalities present themselves as well for the
r colored vowels. For instance, the entire y axis appears to have a smaller range, with
values going from 300 700 Hz, as

Horrors And Criticism In Maus By Art Spiegelman
Maus Essay Josef Stalin said, A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a
statistic. The holocaust isn t seen as personally victimizing to anyone, except the
ones who survived; no one remembers who died, people just remember a number. In
Maus, Art Spiegelman personalizes the horrors of the holocaust by showing how his
dad, Vladek Spiegelman, took more damage internally than externally as shown by
his miserly behavior when it comes to junk, food, and money. In Maus, Spiegelman
illustrates how Vladek is resourceful with saving objects that would be valuable to
him later on. For example, when Vladek finds a fellow Jew s shirt to be so important,
that he was willing to trade food for it, Psst Do you want to buy a... Show more

After coming back from the war, Vladek planned on going to those in debt to him
prior to the Nazi invasion to receive his payments. After finding out the shop
owners can t pay, he then instead decides to take goods instead, Then advance me a
few yards of material without coupons. (Spiegelman, 77) During the holocaust,
because of the inability to pay with money, Vladek requested to instead receive
materials, rather than waiting for the owners to acquire the debts they owed him.
Towards the end of the book, Mala had left Vladek, and also left a half eaten box of
cereal which Vladek intended to get a full refund on, You see? I exchanged and
got six dollars worth of new groceries for only one dollar! (Spiegelman, 90) Lastly
Vladek s view on the importance of money has caused him to cheat his way into
getting even more from an item he knew wasn t worth as much as he got by guilt
tripping the owner of the store. The holocaust made Vladek value money like it
was the only thing keeping him alive, and he was to do anything he could to make
sure he never ran out, so if one day Hitler did come back, he would be
All The Pretty Horses And The Searchers Comparison
Both Cormac McCarthy s All the Pretty Horses and John Ford s The Searchers
depict a ВЁcowboyВЁ going on an adventure, but each shows the myth of the
cowboy in very different lights. The Searchers shows John Wayne as a great man
loyal to his family who will do anything to protect them. McCarthy shows the
cowboy John Grady as a boy who wants to chase the dream of the life of a cowboy.
These differences are very similar to the more major contrast between the novel and
the movies views on the myth of the cowboy. While both romanticizing and
challenging the myth The Searchers in general romanticizes the myth while All the
Pretty Horses does both to change how we view the cowboy. These can be seen when
each of them present violence, setting, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His violence towards the captain is written as heroic even if we should not like
what happens we do because it is easy and does not challenge us. McCarthy is
trying to make us aware that violence even if it is tempting to watch or read should
not be romanticized because it creates a false facade of invincibility, but even
McCarthy and the reader cannot resist the urge to watch or read about violence. As
the story of both the novel and the movie move it shows descriptions or images of
setting. They both romanticize the setting of the west due to its beauty and how it
represents freedom. In The Searchers there are long unbroken shots of the nature
that makes the West represent freedom and independence from the normal life.
While All the Pretty Horses does the same thing in the from of paragraph long
descriptions of setting it does it to not only represent freedom, but also as a way of
justifying the life of a cowboy. ВЁThe desert he rode was red and red the dust he
raised, the small dust that powdered the legs of the horse he rode, the horse he led.
In the evening a wind came up and reddened all the sky before him. There were few

life of a cowboy is full of disappointments, but McCarthy argues that the life that
connects to nature is worth all the disappointments and things that are lost.ВЁThe

The Indian Reservation System
An Indian Reservation is a legal territory managed by a certain Native American tribe
given to them, with only partial sovereignty, by the United States government. Only
326 of the country s 567 recognized tribes were granted land, but even the land they
were granted is not sufficient enough to support a sustainable lifestyle. With no rights
to their land, no sense of home, and a rapidly dying culture, native americans have
been dealt with in the worst ways possible after their own massacre and consistently
broken treaties. An analysis of the Indian reservationsystem in the US provides
deeper insight to the idea that the treatment of natives has left profound, long lasting
negative impacts on the lives of native Americans. BODY PARAGRAPH
NUMBER 1: (PUT IN TOPIC SENTENCE) Some officials in the early years of the
American republic, such as President George Washington, believed that the best way
to solve this Indian problem was simply to civilize the Native Americans. The goal of
this civilization campaign was to make Native Americans as much like white
Americans as possible by encouraging them convert to Christianity, learn to speak and
read English, and adopt European style economic practices such as the individual
ownership of land and other property (including, in some instances in the South,
African slaves). Analysis: This quote shows the urgency by the US government to

Roles of African American Women during the Abolitionist Movement Many are well
aware of the historical movement the, Abolitionist Movement but, are they aware of
the women that were involved? When the abolitionist movement started, its goal was
to immediately emancipate all slaves and the end racial discrimination and
segregation in the North and South. However, they weren t granted emancipation
until the 1870s. During this movement there were many men activists involved as
well as women activists. Women during this era, fought not only in the front line for
rights, but also behind the scenes as they integrated their rights for freedom in their
daily lives. Women abolitionists fought for freedom through educating blacks, both
free and enslaved, circulating petitions, writing letters/poems, and publishing articles
about anti slavery into periodicals such as the Liberator. There was such diversity in
the women, who participated in anti slavery activities, the variety of the goals or
purposes in which they pursued, and the barriers in which they faced as women. A
woman who was very involved in the movement was Maria W. Stewart. Stewart was
an African Americanwoman who, after her husband died and got the inheritance he
left for her taken away by the white executors of her husband s will, published many
essays on religion, racism, and slavery. She was connected with an abolitionist
publisher William Lloyd Garrison who
The National Football League And Its Effect On Society
The National Football League was created in September, 1920 and has since
influenced America not only economically but personally as the sport s dangers
are slowly unmasked. The National Football League has been covering up the
corruption that has been going on for many decades and as people begin to dig,
many hidden truths are beginning to be uncovered. When people think about the
NFL, they are reminded of the sport that many have loved so much but little does
our society realize the major economic effects that the NFL has on America. Not all
of us realize how much of our tax dollars go towards new football stadiums, the
massive parking lots used for games, and the football players themselves. The
National Football Leagueclaims to be nonprofit, yet it is clear that it is far from
that. In addition to the economic effects, it also has a more personal impact on our
lives as more research is showing the health hazards of playing football. The
multiple head traumas that football players get leads to chronic conditions such as
CTE, a newer diagnosis, which causes many players to experience symptoms such
as brain deterioration, suicidal thoughts and ultimately death. Many parents put
their kids in a football league starting at a very young age but are unaware of the
dangers they are exposing their children to.There have been several cases of sudden
deaths from young players including Andre Jackson, a football player from Ohio
High School who died suddenly two days after

How To Write A Narrative Essay About Being The Ice
Envelope
I remember how numb my hands and toes were. The temperature was below zero
and I was frustrated. I remember being terrified to try something new, but I did it.
Not too long ago, when I was in 5th grade, I was given an invitation from my
friend. I m not going to say the name of the girl, so for now, I ll call her Sally. The
envelope looked somewhat fancy to me. She told me not to open it until I went

of mine, I am going to call her Brownie for now, had a inquisitive look on her face.
This was one concept that still remained in my head for the rest of the school day,
the envelope. As soon as I came home that day, I dug out the envelope from my

Legal Rights And Responsibilities Of Tenant Tenants
Q. 1.Explore the legal rights and responsibilities of the tenant and the landlord.
Tenant landlord law
The federal registration as well the state property laws lays out the laws surrounding
both the tenant and the landlord. Houses, mobile homes, apartments, are governed
property laws. These laws are documented in the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1967 to
1994, Residential Tenancies (Amendment) as well as Residential Tenancies Act 2004.
These laws do not cover tenants who have rented a room in the landlord s home.
Despite the fact that leases and agreements are agreed upon by the customer and the
client, they cannot be take away the rights under the legislation. Both the tenants and
landlords have both rights and obligations (Dowden,2014).
Rights as a tenant
A tenant has a right to enjoy a quiet and exclusive home. A tenant can ask the other
tenants to reduce noise, if it is disturbing, and if this is not stopped, he can file a
formal complaint.
Every tenant is entitled to a minimum accommodation standard. For example, the
landlord must ensure that the property is under proper structural repair. The property
should be in a proper state including doors, stairs, tiles etc. All the areas must be
maintained in good condition and repair and must not be defective due to dumpiness.
Equipment and machines under laundry, food preparation and food storage should be
availed. Some of these are outlined in Article 7 of the Housing (Standards for Rented
Houses) Regulations 1993.
The tenant is

In this research paper I will focus on Sor Juana s ability to challenge the patriarchal
rule in Colonial Mexico through her the patterns language, and the publishing of
her work in order to find out how her writing empowered more women writers. In
order to answer my question, I will focus on male authority and will work to
analyze how patterns, rhetoric, and overall publication of Sor Juana s work
challenge the power dynamic..The question I want answer is how Sor Juana s work
was able to alter cultural attitudes that did not permit women to pursue education and
intellectual exploration. My argument is that through her critical language and the act
of producing her poems Sor Juana is able to challenge the oppressive society run by
males therefore creating a change in the gender norms of her time. This is based off
of research of the history of patriarchy in Colonial Mexico, critical analyses of Sor
Juana s writing, understanding of the impact of her writing, and articles suggesting
that Sor Juana was influential in altering culture in Mexico. Particularly, I found it
interesting that articles explored her language focusing on the gender role she
discusses. In this essay I will explore the restrictive cultural norms that pushed Sor
Juana to enter the convent as a way to continue writing and publish her work and

is the capacity to conduct followers to reach goals. Leaders convince followers the
necessity of a leadership group to achieve the success. And although, followers use
their own expertise to complete a job, they need to be driven by a Leader. A
Leader exerts a certain power and influence in their follower that can be direct or
indirect. An effective leader knows how to extract the best ability from each
follower and although the skill belongs to the followers, some of them perform
better when is conducted by a Leader. The ability to influence, comprehends and

the idea that although tropes and clichГ©s are discouraged, they can be an integral
part of a text. Most writing isn t truly original since writers draw their inspirations
from elsewhere and are influenced by things that came before. If these tropes and
clichГ©s did not persist throughout time, then writers would not continue to be
influenced by them and create the pieces that they have. Ruhl and Vogel were both
influenced by Greek mythologyand Greek choruses, which allowed them to produce
unique and modern texts that contained those classical elements.
Even Edmund Spenser, who authored the epic poem The Faerie Queene drew from
Greek mythology, Greek names, places, and people to create a piece of literature
that is relatable and understandable, even though it is over 400 years old. Humans,
as a whole, have not changed too much since the beginning of time, so the
interwoven character tropes are recognizable then and now. These literary devices
transcend time and continue to be used in the present. One could find cruel villains
in both The Faerie Queene and Eurydice. Whether it s the wicked magician
Archimago, in the case of The Faerie Queene, or A Nasty Interesting Man Hadesin
the case of Eurydice. Hades is always represented as the bad boy, the villain, and this
is true in Eurydice. It is with him that she
The Dance Lesson By Edgar Degas
The subject of The Dance Lesson by Edgar Degas appears to be ballerinas or
dancers standing around waiting or getting prepared, such as stretching and tying
bows, for their dance class or lesson to start. The dancers are all sitting, standing
down, and stretching instead of dancing, so it seems they are waiting for their
instructor to start the danceclass. This painting seems to have taken place in a
ballerina or dance studio. It appears to be a wide room with wooden floors to dance
on and in the background it appears to be a mirror with a pole attached, like you
would see in a regular dance studio.
Edgar used the difference in lights and darks to show depth in the painting and show
importance. The dancer sitting in the front appears to be

Abstract
The strength of Harley Davidson s brand and dominant market position give the firm
a wide moat, in our opinion. However, weaker consumer spending and tight credit
markets are presenting the firm with some significant near term challenges. In
addition, we believe the firm must carefully broaden the appeal of its brand to secure
its long term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The firm has already cut production in an attempt to trim costs in line with faling
demand. in addition, just over half of Harley s motorcycle revenues are derived from
retail sales made on credit. We think that the lack of available funds on the wholesale
markets and the shrinking of the number of qualifying customers will make it
difficult for the company s financial services division to continue to support retail
sales by providing credit to customers.
Harley must address some long term challenges. The firm has been focused on a
narrow demographic group (around 89% of customers are male) and the median age
of Harley s customers has been on a long term upward trend.
We believe that the firm must find ways to broaden the appeal of its brand without
alienating its core customer base. Harley has grown in recent years in the
international market , and revenues generated abroad have risen to 25% of total
revenues in 2007 from 19% in 2004. Although the firm has recently introduced a
performance motorcycle for the European market, I think that it may find it difficult
to deliver customized products for overseas markets while supporting its brand
franchise.
Risk
Harley s revenues could be severely hurt by a further weakening of the global
economy and increased reductions in consumer spending on high ticket discretionary

15-Year Mortgage
Four Reasons a 15 Year Mortgage May Be a Bad Idea
On the surface, a 15 year mortgage makes a lot of sense. You will pay off your house
in half the time as a traditional 30 year mortgage and do so by paying less interest on
the loan. However, there are several reasons that a 15 year mortgage may be a bad
idea for you. The following are four of these reasons to think about.
You may not be able to save enough for retirement
If you choose a 15 year mortgage, naturally, you will have higher payments each
month, but you must be careful that you can afford this and still save for your
retirement. If a 15 year mortgage means you will have little left over for your
retirement savings, then you want to finance your home for a longer period of time.
You do not want to put all of your retirement moneyinto your home only to need the

The lower monthly payments that you will have with a 30 tear mortgage will give
you more breathing room in your monthly budget, and this gives you a better chance
of not falling behind or defaulting on a mortgage due to unforeseen circumstances.
You don t have the option of paying down your mortgage
If you have a 15 year mortgage, you are locked into a certain payment that will be
higher than a 30 year mortgage of the same interest rate. But with a 30 year
mortgage, you still have the option of paying more if you choose to. In fact, there
are investment experts who claim that making a double payment early in a 30 year
mortgage is a good, long term investment. The point to remember is that you are
less likely to be able to do this with a 15 year mortgage. The payments will simply be
too high.
Keep the above ideas in mind when contemplating a 15 year mortgage; they are not
for everyone. The mortgage that is best for you will be the one that fits your personal
finances
The Minoans Civilization
The Minoans were a civilization who flourished from 3000 BCE until 1100 BCE on
the island of Crete, were greatly influenced by the Phoenicians, Egyptians, Syrians
and the Anatolians (Britannica Encyclopedia). This civilization made major
contributions to Western European development in the areas of language,
architecture and art. It was the famous archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans who made the
astounding discoveries at Knossosin the early 1900 s that introduced to the world the
fascinating and wonderful sophistication of these early Greeks (Britannica
Encyclopedia). The history of the island has been molded by its proximity to the
Aegean Sea. Its geographical location gave it control over the sea and the lucrative
trade routes. The Minoans traded with Egypt, the Levant, the Aegean, and beyond to
Italy, and Sicily.
The great Minoan civilization of Crete formed around palaces such as those at
Knossos, Phaestus, Ayia Triada, and Tyliossos. The extremely important Palace of
Minos at Knossos gives us crucial evidence of a continuous architectural brilliance
and highly developed artistic sense, bringing together all aspects of architectural
style, art, and innovation during the Minoan period between 1700 BCE and 1580
BCE and continuing until the invasion of the Achaeans in the 12th century BCE
(Britannica Encyclopedia). The most famous palace is the palace of Minos of

The Importance Of Cultural Globalization
Cultural globalization supposes, not only empiric human contacts among
civilizations (transporter revolution), but also intellectual instruments of
understanding among contact groups in a more or less brutal manner. Let us call
humanist sciences those intellectual instruments, having a wide enough meaning:
history, philology, linguistics, archeology, sociology, philosophy. Trying to create a
global culture, an important role is played by foreign languages. English is
undoubtedly placed in the top of hierarchy, being used both in Romania and in the
whole world in all its types: written, spoken, formal, informal as well as registers
specialized for economy, law, technique, journalism etc. It has become lingua franca
by excellence and keeps on strengthening this domination through a process of self
consolidation. It also reached Romania as the main language of international
communication in the field of business, policy, administration, science and academic
world, being as well the dominant language of global publications and popular culture
. The main language in the field of computers is English, being the written language
for Windows and Internet protocols. At the same time, English is the language used
in safety procedures, such as air traffic control. Over two thirds of total scientists in
the world write in English, three quarters of international correspondence is written
in English and 80% of information in recovery systems of world electronic data is
stocked in
The Midwife And His Muscles And Added
The midwife then flaunted his muscles and added. The reason I asked for the arm
wrestling match was to make you realise, that women at times require three four
times the effort that you just put in, and there is also a lot of blood and cuts most
of the times, hence it s quite a tough job, even by your high standards! With that
comment Jai really put their nose out of joint, it was all over their faces; just then
Kaashi returned to the scene. She was alarmed to notice her red faced brother and
father, their twitchy body language as both gazed at Jai with discomfort and
disdain, while he stood lecturing them. She was quick to realise that the neighbour
had uttered something disrespectful, something she knew he was clearly capable
of! Though now the midwife s tone was turning reconciliatory. And I find it tough
to handle, its way easier than arm wrestling, I even cry at times to see them in pain
; he appeared to be earnestly trying to drive home a message, but it was tough for
anything to permeate through to the chafed Singh duo s senses that were filled with
loathing, whilst the Singhni (lioness) got agitated and curious to dig out the details.
However before she could catch up with anyone, Kamal, who was privy to the
entire episode decided to de escalate the situation. Hello everybody, please come, we
are now starting with the ceremony, else we ll be late for lunch, thanks! The

Thus Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are not without connection. They are the same
being that have three different aspects, but the Supreme Being of the gods is
Brahma. There are also other names that are recognized and worshipped in the Hindu
religion. For instance the name Lord Ganesha is called upon and is represented as
the head of an elephant, which represents the power of the Supreme Being who
removes obstacles and ensures success in human work. Hindus worship Lord
Ganesha before doing any activity. The World Encyclopedia of Eastern religions
records and states that Lord Ganesha is the first son of Shiva and Parvati. The
portrayal of Lord Ganesha is as a blend of humans and animal parts, which
symbolizes the ideas of perfection as formed by Hindu sages. The goddess Durga
represents the power of the Supreme Being, who preserves moral order. The
Sanskrit word for Durga actually means a fort or a place that is protected and thus
is difficult to reach. Durga is known as the Divine mother, who protects humans
from evil by destroying evil forces. Durga also has many other names like Parvati,
Ambika, and Kali. She has eighteen arms and in each arm she carries weapons to

Professional Development Providers Are Agencies That

Professional development providers are agencies that offer professional learning
opportunities to teachers on a variety of topics. They often play a key role in reform
efforts in education by introducing teachers to new policy demands and teaching new
pedagogical strategies (Knapp, 2003; Little, 1993). A wide range of organizations
provide PD services, from districts to nonprofits, commercial firms, and universities
(Coburn, 2005b; Coburn, Buchanan, Morel, 2015; Little, 1989). Much of the
research on professional development focuses on determining the features that make
professional development effective that is, which features of PD engender changes in
practices in the classroom and the impact student outcomes (Knapp, 2003). This

By providing learning opportunities for educators, PD providers introduce new
policies to teachers and provide strategies for implementing changes (Knapp 2003;
Little, 1993). Since they interface with teachers, they have the ability to shape and
interpret ideas about a policy. Coburn (2005b; 2006), for example, has shown that
professional development providers actively filter, frame, and interpret the meaning
of reforms as they present them to teachers. The nature of the framing impacts how
teachers understand and implement the demands of new policies. Outside of this
research, little attention has been paid to PD providers as a group of actors
operating in the educational environment. Consequently, we know little about the
inner workings of the professional development sector. There is little empirical
evidence about the actors and organizations involved in providing PD (Coburn et al.,
2015 is an exception) or the ideas they are promoting. Furthermore, we know almost
nothing about the nature of social relationships among professional development
providers and how they interact to share and promote ideas. While we know that
ideas matter in the implementation process and that PD providers have the potential
to shape the ideas teachers encounter, there are no studies to date that explore how
PD providers promote and share ideas about new policy efforts. In response to the

What Does The Old South Symbolize In A Rose For Emily
A rose for Emily written by William Faulkner, tells us the story of a women Emily s
life after her father s death. This story happened during the end of 18th century,
when Old South noble began to fall. Emily in this article is not a real person but a
symbol of the Old South. Through the story, Faulkner focus on describing the conflict
between the new generation and the Old South by separating Emily with other
people in town. In the beginning of the story, Faulkner compare the appearance of
Emily s home with the new neighborhood, which is full of machine. He also uses
word our and her to separate the people in town with Emily, which indicates the
different social hierarchy between Emily and others. For me, I think the attitude

Shakespeare s Sonnet #73 Essay
Shakespeare s Sonnet #73, published in 1609, is written in the Shakespearean or
English sonnet style. It consists of three quatrains and one couplet at the end, written
in iambic pentameters. Each quatrain has its own rhyme scheme, rhyming in
alternating lines. The couplet summarizes the preceding twelve lines. Sonnet 73
appears to contain multiple parallels to death and the person speaking in the poem
gives the impression that he is near death and reflecting back upon life.
The first quatrain, That time of the year thou mayst behold me/ When yellow leaves,
or none, or few do hang/ Upon those boughs which shake against the cold/ Bare ruin

Meaning, death will come, without question. He plays upon the sun setting, which
in some cultures was a god dying every evening (and he would be reborn every
morning). The sun setting could also be regarded as the sun going to sleep, which
plays on the last line of the quatrain, quot;Death s second self, which seals upon rest.
quot; This line talks of the eternal sleep, or death. This quatrain suggests a night
without the possibility of day, quot;seals upon rest. quot;
In the third quatrain, In me the glowing of such fire/ That on the ashes of his youth
doth lie/ As the deathbed whereon it must expire/ Consuming with that which it was
nourished by. He seems to compare his life to fire, burning bright in youth, when
energy and ideas bound forth, but eventually it all turns to ashes, fragments of the
passing youth, essentially death. He also makes implications of lying upon the
ashes, his deathbed, of days gone by, days when he was young and full of energy.
The fire proposes finality, the non cyclical process that night and the seasons are part
of, which Shakespeare has worked towards in the poem.
The final couplet, This thou percev st which makes thy love more strong/ To love

This includes email, chat, voice mail, IVR, outbound dial, CTI integration, URL
browsing, and CRM support. Genesys scores very high marks on email, chat,
voice mail, IVR, and URL browsing. IVR or interactive voice response is a system
that interacts with callers to gather information and to route calls to specific
employees or agents. The Genesys reports that their IVR system can improve
customer experience by reducing live agent calls by 80%, increase automation rate
by 10% with 1.5 million saved annually, and decrease agent talk time by 40% with
their intelligent IVR system. The Genesys IVR system comparable to the Mitel and
Siemens IVR systems, which also scored high marks as well however Genesys edges
out the other two in the other categories. Computer telephony integration is feature
that is also very important for the IP PBX system to support. CTI allows employees
or agents to use their computer to initiate and manage calls. It also allows the
computer to direct calls to the right department. The Genesys SoundBite CTI Connect
platform has several features to help call center agent be productive at the workplace.
Some of these features include screen pops, intelligent call routing, and dynamic call

Blindness in King Lear Essays
Blindness is defined as, according to dictionaries, unable to see and lacking the
sense of sight , but in King Lear, written by William Shakespeare, it has a relatively
new definition. Blindness, as Shakespeare portrays, not only a physical inability to
see, but also a mental flaw that some characters present in this tragic play. King Lear
and the Earl of Gloucester are the two characters who make up the parallel double
plot of the tragedy caused of their lack of sight, mental blindness. They both
undergo a very similar plot and suffer from their false decisions, the ones they feel
very remorseful of later on. In other words, such blindness is the root of false
decisions that leads to disasters. The interaction of physical blindness and... Show

Equality In The Giver
Equality is not in regarding different things similarly, equality is in regarding
different thing differently. Tom Robbins, an American novelist, claims that
equality can t be made through imagining that everything is the same and
relatively equal. But instead, it is our perception that what we need to change;
how we see equality spread among the people, and how that equality is kept alive.
Through the drive for equality amongst the public, our modern day society shares
similar goals towards a dystopian world, while achieving it by using utopian
qualities. The Giver s society is similar to our modern day world, due to both
societies striving for equality. In Jonas s community, everybody lives an average life,

Throughout the history of England monarchs, there have been numerous great
rulers. The Tudor Dynasty of England started in 1485 with the first Tudor monarch

Tudor rule, England had become more economically healthier, more expansive, and
more optimistic than ever before. Between 1490 1500 at the end of the

There had always been tension between the two religions, but after rumors of a
Protestant Reformation, uncertainty was among all English citizens. Anne Boleyn

Anne was Catholic, Religious reformers and protestants sensed that Anne was on

Elizabeth I, who later on in history would become very important for England s
history. Henry was always very controlling and never let his wives partake in
business. Again habits continued, and Henry grew tired of Anne, even found her
annoying. With no healthy male heirs, she was useless, and after three years of
marriage, Henry executed her for treason and adultery . In many ways, Anne was her
own worst enemy: she attracted the enmity of Catholics because she openly

Discuss how the jet engine revolutionised the world of commercial aviation and how
future innovations will continue to shape the industry.
This essay shall talk colloquilly about the developments of the jet engine, commercial
aviation in general and how future innovations will continue to shape the industry.

West Berlin housed one of the Allied settlements, an island surrounded by Soviet
controlled territory. In June 1948, in a bid to control and overthrow the Allied
settlement in West Berlin, the Soviets closed all ground passages to West Berlin,
cutting off food and general supplies to the island region. Allied nations responded
by flying food and necessary supplies in via air. This method proved to be
extremely effective, although the settlements in West Berlin were cut off for nearly
a year, daily food and rations fed those who remained. Allied nations realised the
importance and need for more chartered carriers. After the Berlin air lift, the US
passed the air deregulation act in 1978 which led to an open skies policy [Pender,
2001].
It was not until the late 1950 s that the jet aircraft really took off again with the
arrival of the Boeing 707 and the McDonnell Douglas DC 8, both proving to be
hugely successful and the 707 still remains in service today. In 1970 Boeing
brought one of the world s most recognised aircraft into service the Boeing 747
which seats over 400 passengers. By 1972 Airbus had joined the jet aircraft market
and launched the A300 and only recently stopped production in July 2007. It was
back during the Second World War that the supersonic jet engine was developed; this
technology was later used for the first and only supersonic commercial passenger
Sociological Imagination On Low Self-Esteem
In this paper I will use sociological imagination to connect my personal experience
to dealing with low self esteem in the theme of impression management. As a
young girl, I ve always struggled with low self esteem. Starting at the age of 15, I
was so worried about trying to catch up with these unreachable standards of beauty
that I eventually lost sight of who I was especially when it came to social media.
There were times when I d try to change the way I looked just to impress guys or
just to even be considered as physically attractive. Society and the media has
brought on a lot of pressure for me, like the desire to want to look good or be
someone that I m not. I was always a Tomboy through out most of my... Show more

I was a very introverted girl who didn t have very much friends in high school and
the fact that I got bullied almost every day for the way that I looked contributed to
my self esteem issues. I felt like I wasn t accepted for who I was. There were also
times when I d find myself scrolling through my newsfeed to see all of these
attractive young women with their curvaceous body posing in their bikinis on
Instagram or Facebook. I would look at them and think how could I ever compete
with that. These were the type of females I ve seen people praising all the time and
I wanted to look like that. I then started changing my appearance and would start
wearing more revealing clothes. Sometimes I wouldn t even leave the house or
take a photo without dressing up or wearing caked on makeup because I thought
people would think that I was unattractive. The potential of being rejected by
others for being myself really bothered me. Social Media also gave me that ability
to be someone more interesting or make my life more exciting than it actually was,
but in reality I was just a regular girl who was trying really hard to please
People Hating People throughout History
People who put principles before people are people who hate people. They don t
much care about how well it works, just about how right it is ... they may even like it
better if it inflicts enough pain (John Barnes). People do not think too much of how
their actions affect other human beings. They think making others feel less than who
they are is completely ok, even with the level of National Security. It is not ok
whatsoever. Instead of dehumanizing people and making them feel worthless and like
animals National Security, and other humans, should treat people equally and not like
objects, make them feel comfortable and not take away their rights because we are all
humanand all equal. Although people feel as though they can just take away a
person s rights and identity because they feel they are more superior and important,
they have no right to. The three veterans, with needles in their hands, engraved a
number on our left arms. I became A7713. After that I had no other name. (Wiesel
39). Wiesel is talking about how his identity was just taken away from him. And
how it was so easy to just become a number, and nothing but a number, so quickly.
He had no other identity other than the one given to him when his original name was
taken away from him. As a result, Mr. Wiesel and many other humans have and are
being stripped of their identity and becoming, or have become, nothing but a number
and an object. There are eighty of you in this wagon, added the German officer.
Conflict Management Styles Paper
1.Conflict
a.Conflict is the opposing ideas and actions of different entities. There are four types
of conflict. Interpersonal conflict is a conflict between two people. Intrapersonal
conflict is a conflict in a person s mind. Intragroup conflict is a conflict between
individuals in a group. The last type of conflict is intergroup conflict, which is
conflict between different groups in an organization.
b.Conflict management is the practice of recognizing the opposing ideas and actions
of different entities in a balanced and effective way. In order to manage conflict there
has to be effective communication, problem resolving abilities and good negotiating
skills.

2.Unproductive conflict is frequent, repetitive arguments that are not resolved and
both parties leave feeling angry and frustrated. These types of conflict occur when
the real issues are not being communicated. Productive conflict is an open exchange
of conflicting ideas in which parties feel equally heard, respected, and unafraid to
voice dissenting opinions. This type of conflict makes individuals feel comfortable to
resolve the conflict.
I have been part of a group that had an unproductive conflict. When I was working as
an intern over the summer, we were in a meeting with different groups from the
company. One team felt one way about the issue, while the other team had other
feelings towards the issue. The teams just argued about their point of views and never
thought to take a minute and listen to the other group. At the end of the meeting both
groups were frustrated with each other and nothing was solved.

Innocence Quotes In To Kill A Mockingbird
Tom Robinson, an innocent man was shot in prison after he was wrongly convicted
and falsely accused in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird. This action, along with
others is found commonly throughout the book as defenceless characters get hurt and
wrongly judged despite their innocent persona. Along with Tom Robinson other
characters suffer too, people such as Boo Radley and Atticus Finch suffer from the
cruel world around them. In the surrounding chaos, those few characters manage to
preserve their innocent nature. By doing this, Harper Lee presents a theme of
innocence throughout the book To Kill a Mockingbirdthrough the symbolism of the
mockingbird portrayed by the actions and emotions of Tom Robinson, Boo Radley,
and Atticus Finch. Tom is the best example of a defenceless soul... Show more content

that don t mean anything like snot nose. It s hard to explain ignorant, trashy
people use it when they think somebody s favoring Negroes over and above
themselves. It s slipped into usage with some people like ourselves, when they

Does gender make a difference in education in America in...
For many years women in America have experienced many different situations in the
education arena. Situations that women experienced were very different than the
experiences males experienced in the same classroom and women expectations were
also different than that of their male counterparts. Renzetti and Curran wrote in their
Fifth Edition of Women, Men and Society that women were expected to not only
attend to their studies but also attend to the males laundry, cleaning their rooms and
meal service. (Page 101.) Women were expected to keep silent and were only
allowed to major in degrees like Home Economics and Teaching degrees. Was this
treatment of women the same for women in other cultures? This paper will show that

In 2003 the same study in Brazil done an experiment with adolescent boys and girls
in a physics lab about learning behaviors. According to Teixeria (2002) in Brazil
there are definite roles for both males and females. In this country the males are
dominant and females are subservient. In schools students are generally separated by
gender and the people give the faculty great authority; that is they are seen of great
value. However, this study found that girls were better at answering questions,
taking notes and generally answered for the boys, whereas, boys were defiant and
less like to take notes and stay on task. At times boys have shown authority over a
female teacher claiming that the teachers haven t taught him anything. What is also
interesting about this culture is that women usually have more education than men
yet their statuses is lower, have less pay in jobs, and is not seen as equal.
According to Teixira, Villani and Nascimento in their study boys and girls behavior
in the school expresses the socialization roles given to them by society (2008, pages
387 398). Clearly, learning can go on and succeed within the context social oppression
in gender stereotyping. Unfortunately, those that are learning do not reap in the
benefits that a good education can bring such as social status, wages and high
position in the job market. With the comparison of the countries of
Gerald Ford Biography
Following his defeat in the 1976 presidential election, Gerald Ford retired to
Rancho Mirage, California. Thereafter, Ford appeared frequently in public as a
speaker, lecturing for private audiences and on university campuses. In his post
presidential years, Ford wrote a number of books, including an account of his
presidency, A Time to Heal (1979), and Humor and the Presidency (1987). Always
very athletic, Ford continued to enjoy the game of golf.
However, Ford s exit from Washington did not immediately end his political
ambitions. He surprised most observers when he entered into discussions with Ronald
Reagan in 1980 about running on the Republican ticket with the former governor
of California. However, Ford took the offer to the media (specifically to CBS
anchor Walter Cronkite in a convention interview); feeling betrayed, an angry
Reagan withdrew the offer, which ultimately went to George H.W. Bush. During
the 1980s and 1990s, Ford emerged as an elder statesman in the Republican Party.
Likewise, Ford wrote extensively on domestic and foreign policy issues of the day.
He also served on a number of corporate boards and commissions, including a stint
as co chair of The National Commission on Federal Election Reform in 2001. ... Show

Abuse Of Power In Braveheart
Braveheart
Edward the Longshanks, king of England was a dominant figure bent on obtaining
allegiance by most any means available. He was an autocratic leader in that he was
the central authority. The only power that he was willing to give was to those that
he could still control through fear and bribery. Expansion of his power base came
by using the greed of others. Given no concern for human needs, he expected his
followers to do what they were told and not think for themselves. Input from others
was received but ultimately what he wanted was all that mattered. He used negative
theory by applying fear for those that opposed and positive theory by offering
rewards for those that agreed with him is his quest for power.

leadership role. He finally realized that what Wallace had was a passion for
something greater than himself and that his followers were willing to give up
everything to follow him. Wallace s final act of leadership inspired Robert the
Bruce to assume his rightful claim to the throne and to do so by asking those men
that had followed Wallace to follow him as well. Determined by the manner in
which Wallace was accepted by his followers he had great leader member relations.

Continued employment for workers past their retirement age
Dear readers,
Whether to allow retired citizens to continue working after passing their retirement
age is still a huge doubt in our current society. Organizations may not want to re
employ them as they may be unfit for the job due to their physical limitations.
However, re employing them will greatly benefit them. I will be giving my opinions
and suggestions for this concern in this blog post.
Some Human Resource (HR) managers of organizations did report cons of re
employing them:
Some older people may not be as updated in technology as the younger generation.
Hence additional training is needed.
They may have one or more chronic disease and hence it makes them more expensive
when it comes to insurance and medical care.
They may request for flexible hours which some organizations may not be able to
give.
These few factors are mainly why organizations refuse to employ retired workers as
these are the problems they have to face. However, some HR managers would still
employ retired workers as there are more pros than cons.
The advantages include:
They are usually experienced so they will be able to solve their own problems.

It takes time for them to be as skilled as the retired workers but in time they may be

way more experience as compared to the younger people. These older people may
be valuable to the organization and they are assets, as the saying goes, old is gold .
They have contributed to the economy for a long time and letting them work for a
few years more would not make a huge difference. With their experience, the
organization would run more smoothly and

Pakistan real estate market
Pakistan s economy faced depression in 2012. In 2013, the political scenario was
quite unpredictable and challenging but the position of Lahore real estate market
was relatively attractive for the same year. It was due to the success of the
agricultural sector. Generally the political scenario does not have a deep impact on
the real estate market because the economy of Pakistan is quite informal and
investors are attracted to invest in the property market. The year 2014 was also
positive for the economy of Pakistan and since the beginning of this year, real estate
market of Pakistan showed stability in both residential and commercial terms.
Now the real estate market is showing positive results. The demand of the properties
in the leading cities like Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi is also increased along with
some increase in the prices.
New and existing projects also show upward growth. Rawalpindi/Islamabad real
estate markets are growing and receiving more investments but Lahore property

Elizabeth 1 Accomplishments
During the 1500s, one woman prevailed in a society dominated by males. Queen
Elizabeth I of England served for forty four stable and prosperous years. She
claimed the throne in 1558 and reigned until her death in 1603. Because of her
strong leadership, this time period was known as England s Golden Age or
Elizabethan Era. Queen Elizabeth s accomplishments were possible because of her
educational background, Protestant upbringing, and unmarried status. First, Queen
Elizabeth s reign was successful because she was well educated. According to the
Folger Shakespeare Library website, she received instruction that only men received
during the 1500s. She studied mathematics, history, and several different languages.
She played music, danced, rode horses and hunted. (Folger.edu) She supported the
country s culture. For example, she loved to attend plays written by William
Shakespeare. She saw The Merry Wives of Windsor and Love s Labor s Lost.
(Folger.edu) As a queen, she was also able to communicate well with diplomatic
ambassadors from other countries because she spoke so many languages. Because of

When Elizabeth I took the throne, the country was divided over religion. Some
people were Roman Catholic and others were Protestant. She allowed more freedom
of religion and separated from the Pope so that the country would be calmer and not
be so violent. According to Queen Elizabeth I on www.Biography.com, she passed the
Act of Supremacy in 1570 to make England Protestant again because her half sister
Queen Mary had made the country Catholic. Despite these changes, Elizabeth was
tactful to her Catholic lords and subjects. (Biography.com) These actions helped her

Their Eyes Were Watching God Narrative Essay
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston is written with a narrative
frame. The story begins and ends with two people, Janie and Pheoby, sitting on the
porch of Janie s house. Janie is telling her story to Pheoby during the course of an
evening, that evening becoming the entire novel. The point of view changes from a
first person narrative to a third person omniscient within the first chapter so the reader
can experience the story through Janie s eyes while also understanding the other
characters and their perspectives. Janie, the main character of Their Eyes Were
Watching God, reveals the story throughout the novel with a flashback. Pheoby s
hungry listening helped Janie to tell her story. So she went on thinking back to her
young years and explaining them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These chapters show Janie s initial happiness with Joe, followed by her
dissatisfaction with Joe as he starts to treat her like his property, because of her
gender. Janie feels defeated by her search for love as she is trapped in a loveless
relationship. Joe s control over Janie actually makes her a stronger and more
independent woman.
The fourth and final section of the novel focuses on Janie s marriage to Tea Cake.
Finally, Janie met someone who provided the love she longed for her whole life.
Janie experiences true happiness for the first time. The framework of the novel ends
as Janie s story is complete and Pheoby returns home to her husband. The reader
understands the story through Janie s eyes while a narrator tells the story in third
person to allow the reader to know more about the other characters and their
perspectives.
Hurston chose to tell the story within a framework to give Janie a voice in the novel
while she used an omniscient narrator to establish a voice outside of Janie, while
continuing in the style of Janie s voice, to cease the need to stay in the vernacular

Propaganda Techniques Today s Advertising By Anne
Mcclintock
In the essay, Propaganda Techniques in Today s Advertising by Anne McClintock,
McClintock shows seven different ways that propaganda is used. One mostly used
by advertisement today would be Glittering Generalities, using positive words to
bring attraction to their product while concealing the actual meanings. They will
use inspiring words that are very vague that the consumer would not really
understand what the product would really do to benefit them but would be
inspired to buy it anyways. Another technique mostly used would be Testimonial,
were producers would pay celebrities to advertise their product for them since they
have more fame than normal actors. Advertisement used today is targeted to make
the consumer believe that what they are paying for is the real deal when it is only
beneficial for the producers. Advertisements are used to promote a product by the
positive effects enthusiastically but when describing the side effects they are done
fast and in small letters. When one watches a commercial in the television, or hears
it on the radio, one mostly hears the what the producers wants them to hear. They
will explain their product, giving the pros of what it was made to do and how its a
better option than other products in the market. When they are done with their sale
at the very end most of commercials give you in small font the rest of the financial
information, additional fees, or even side effects with a very fast voice most of the
time reading it to you.
Thesis On Film And Architecture
Film and Architecture
ABSTRACT:
Film and architecture are similar. Both involve space, movement and time.
Architecture is one of the great hinges on which the world of the film turns.
Architecture and film are works of art, but they also inspire creative art practices.
Space and time can be related to each other beautifully when it comes to Film and
Architecture. They both engage the viewer, one by projecting moving images while
the viewer is still, the other by being still while the viewer moves. Both architecture
and film play an important role in influencing how we physically and imaginatively
interact with the world around us.

Running Essay.pdf

  • 1. Running Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of running presents a unique challenge, particularly when attempting to infuse personal experiences, factual information, and engaging insights into the narrative. Running, as a topic, is seemingly straightforward, yet delving deeper unveils layers of complexity that demand thorough exploration. To begin with, one must decide on the angle from which to approach the topic. Is it a personal reflection on the joys and challenges of running? An exploration of the physiological and psychological benefits? Or perhaps an analysis of its cultural significance and evolution over time? Each angle requires careful consideration and research to develop a coherent and compelling argument. Furthermore, writing about running necessitates a balance between anecdotal evidence and empirical data. While personal anecdotes can add depth and authenticity to the essay, they must be supplemented with scientific research and expert opinions to lend credibility and authority to the arguments presented. Moreover, capturing the essence of the running experience through words alone can be a daunting task. Describing the euphoria of crossing the finish line, the rhythmic pounding of feet on pavement, or the sense of camaraderie among fellow runners requires a mastery of language and imagery. Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and tired tropes commonly associated with the topic of running. It's easy to fall into the trap of rehashing familiar themes like perseverance, determination, and pushing one's limits without offering any fresh insights or perspectives. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of running demands a nuanced approach that combines personal reflection, factual analysis, and creative expression. It's a task that requires dedication, research, and skillful storytelling to truly do justice to the subject matter. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Consequentialism Introduction: For this Unit 2 assignment I have chosen the the ethical type Consequentialism. This is defined as Consequentialism: An action is morally right if the consequences of that action are more favorable than unfavorable. (ref 1) After looking at the definition of the ethical type of Consequentialism, I would like to give a short example in my own words what I understand Consequentialism is. Consequentialism is the ethical reasoning that would apply to a situation where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or what is less evil or bad in any particular situation ? You would make that choice based on the ethical type Consequentialism. So in my life I believe that I have had to make ethical decisions based on this ethical type. Whether it be at work at home with the family or with friends. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I want to give you a real life example that happened to me 30 years ago when I was living and working in Germany. Now we had a group of guys that would love to go to the disco on Saturday nights in Germany. Now I lived in Germany and could drive but it was always a German guy that drove and DID NOT drink. One day they asked me to be the driver, I happily agreed and off we went. At the disco I DRANK ! because in the USA the crime or punishment to drink and drive was not as severe as it was in Germany ! But not only that it was for a German ethically NOT acceptable to drink and drive where as in The USA it was not considered as critical or it did not become an ethical issue. So I drank.. Now after the disco closed and we went to the car the Germans had noticed that I was drunk and DID not get into the car ! Wow talk about great ethics and ethics of the Consequentialism type. It was ETHICALLY impossible for them to get in the car. Instead they considered me a idiot and we had to walk 10 miles back to town ! 30 years ago NO one
  • 3. Many Mysteries Lie in the Olmec Civilization Essay The Olmec Civilization The Olmec civilization: Starting from 1400 B.C to an abrupt end to 300 B.C. Many mysteries lie in the Olmec civilization and seem to never be recovered. But, there is a small portion of evidence supporting the existence of a civilization. The history of the civilization this is really broken up. They lived in the tropical lowlands in Mexico known today as Veracruz and Tabasco. They were known as the rubber people because they were known for their discovery on natural rubber. They started out like most civilizations: mostly hunting and the only thing they farmed was corn, beans and squash. Later on, they cultivate many more plants. The time of the Olmecs will be divided into four different ages: The Pre Olmec, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These monuments can range from three to nine feet tall and some weighing over twenty tons. Weird thing is, these monuments were moved from locations as far as sixty miles away! Also weird, most aren t even known what they re supposed to represent. Some believe they are rulers, but truly, only fifteen have been known so far. The earlier ones show altars or thrones and were carved to represent heads. Many of the heads were intentionally destroyed, buried, or moved to new places, we don t know when or why. The maybe evidence for times of warfare. It also might show evidence of some type of leadership since there has to be a reason for these monuments. The type of leadership here might be comparable to the Mississippians. Burnt human bones and cut marks show evidence of ritual cannibalism like many other Latin American civilizations. The next time period, the Intermediate Olmec (1000 650 B.C.E) which is the time of the fall of San Lorenzo and the rise of La Venta . La Venta was a small center during this time compared to San Lorenzo but grew overtime to it s greatest extent at about 900 to 450 B.C.E. This city was very similar to San Lorenzo with the clay mounds, courts, basalt ponds, drains, and heads. But, there was a different big attraction: a pyramid. It rose to about 98 feet tall. It was like all other pyramids with a square base. It is debated about when it was built, some saying not at this time. The pyramid, in
  • 4. Theme Of The Circus Animals Desertion The work of William Butler Yeats is full of descriptive, evocative imagery, deep personal feelings and strong political opinions. Yeats sets up dynamic contrasts in every one of his poems which for me makes his poetry interesting and thought provoking. I found these traits particularly evident in The Circus Animals Desertion as Yeats discusses a variety of poems, prose and plays written by himself throughout his life. These works of art represent the full breadth of Yeats work The themes of life, death immortality and of conflicting dualities. Bloom (1970) proposes the theory that Yeats shares with the Romantic poets a conviction that the most poetic images are necessarily those of unfulfilled and unfillable desire and according to Bloom Yeats shares with Shelley his deepest fear of growing old and losing his ability to write beautiful meaningful poetryand to be immortalised through his work. This genuine self doubt in his ability is particularly evident in this poem. The resignation and fear is implicit in the concluding rhyming couplet in each stanza.,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like many of Yeats final poems, the tone is weary and melancholy. Being but a broken man The title The Circus Animals Desertion is a metaphor and evokes the tone and theme of abandonment, as if he, as the performer has run out of tricks, doubting his genius. Yeats discusses his previous work in order to inspire new work in his old age, this aspect is seen clearly in his other later poems such as sailing to Byzantium in which he wishes to be preserved as art and An acre of grass in which he demands inspiration Grant me an old man s frenzy . There is no journey to a sudden realisation as Yeats conclusion merely confirms his initial thoughts in the poem s introduction, that he must be satisfied with the heart . He is searching for truth and finds it in In the foul rag and bone shop of the
  • 5. Was The Tang Dynasty A Success The Tang dynasty was a success. The Tang dynasty was a success for many reasons. It had a great culture, many advancements, and it developed its religion. First, the Tang dynasty had a great culture. The most important part of the Tang dynasty s culture would be it s arts and literature. They had many influential poets and poetry (which you had to master to be in the government), they had a lot of beautiful artwork, and they had opera. This to me sounds like a success because they had a very good culture. Second, they had many new inventions. They had things like gunpowder, woodblock printing, porcelain advancements, and tea. These were very useful because gunpowder opened the doorway to new technology like guns, explosives, and even fire works.
  • 6. Notes On The Scatter Plot Summary Notes on the Scatter Plots The different vowel qualities are noted by the color on the scatter plot. For words that have multiple monophthongs, the underlined vowel is the one being plotted at that particular point. Monophthong Observations One immediately striking feature of my realizations of these monophthongs is my fronting of the close back vowel [u]. This vowel, present in ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) , has shifted to a position that is more front than the near close back vowel [КЉ], and more front than even the central mid vowels [Й™] and [Йђ]. We discussed this possible [u] fronting in class, and from these particular samples, I think it would not be absurd to say that the vowel I have for ( removed HTML ) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The vowel now has a F2 F1 value similar to the central vowels, and ends up being less front. R Colored Vowel Observations After plotting the data on the R Colored Vowels, I realized that what I titled my series didn t quite match up with the actual values of the formants. As such, I changed what symbols I used for the different vowel qualities. For instance, the lab report guide suggested that the vowel in ( removed HTML ) was [ЙЄ]. Yet my recorded F2 F1 axis value for ( removed HTML ) (2210) was higher in comparison to the words with a monophthong [ЙЄ] (1625 1870), and therefore more fronted. I then titled the series [iЙ№] to reflect this frontness, There was a similar situation with the vowel in ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) . I compared the F1 values in this series to the F1 values of the [Й›] vowel, which should be at the same height as [Й”]. The F1 value of the ( removed HTML ) value was higher by a degree of two hundred Hz. For a second check, I looked at the Assignment 4 packet, which had a plot of American English vowels. The F1 listed for the[Й”] vowel was 550 Hz, which was again much higher than my recorded vowels for ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) . I then determined that at least for r coloring, I use an [o] vowel. Some generalities present themselves as well for the r colored vowels. For instance, the entire y axis appears to have a smaller range, with values going from 300 700 Hz, as

  • 8. Horrors And Criticism In Maus By Art Spiegelman Maus Essay Josef Stalin said, A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic. The holocaust isn t seen as personally victimizing to anyone, except the ones who survived; no one remembers who died, people just remember a number. In Maus, Art Spiegelman personalizes the horrors of the holocaust by showing how his dad, Vladek Spiegelman, took more damage internally than externally as shown by his miserly behavior when it comes to junk, food, and money. In Maus, Spiegelman illustrates how Vladek is resourceful with saving objects that would be valuable to him later on. For example, when Vladek finds a fellow Jew s shirt to be so important, that he was willing to trade food for it, Psst Do you want to buy a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Spiegelman, 77) During the holocaust, because of the inability to pay with money, Vladek requested to instead receive materials, rather than waiting for the owners to acquire the debts they owed him. Towards the end of the book, Mala had left Vladek, and also left a half eaten box of cereal which Vladek intended to get a full refund on, You see? I exchanged and got six dollars worth of new groceries for only one dollar! (Spiegelman, 90) Lastly Vladek s view on the importance of money has caused him to cheat his way into getting even more from an item he knew wasn t worth as much as he got by guilt tripping the owner of the store. The holocaust made Vladek value money like it was the only thing keeping him alive, and he was to do anything he could to make sure he never ran out, so if one day Hitler did come back, he would be
  • 9. All The Pretty Horses And The Searchers Comparison Both Cormac McCarthy s All the Pretty Horses and John Ford s The Searchers depict a ВЁcowboyВЁ going on an adventure, but each shows the myth of the cowboy in very different lights. The Searchers shows John Wayne as a great man loyal to his family who will do anything to protect them. McCarthy shows the cowboy John Grady as a boy who wants to chase the dream of the life of a cowboy. These differences are very similar to the more major contrast between the novel and the movies views on the myth of the cowboy. His violence towards the captain is written as heroic even if we should not like what happens we do because it is easy and does not challenge us. McCarthy is trying to make us aware that violence even if it is tempting to watch or read should not be romanticized because it creates a false facade of invincibility, but even McCarthy and the reader cannot resist the urge to watch or read about violence. As the story of both the novel and the movie move it shows descriptions or images of setting. They both romanticize the setting of the west due to its beauty and how it represents freedom. In The Searchers there are long unbroken shots of the nature that makes the West represent freedom and independence from the normal life. While All the Pretty Horses does the same thing in the from of paragraph long descriptions of setting it does it to not only represent freedom, but also as a way of justifying the life of a cowboy. • 10. The Indian Reservation System An Indian Reservation is a legal territory managed by a certain Native American tribe given to them, with only partial sovereignty, by the United States government. Only 326 of the country s 567 recognized tribes were granted land, but even the land they were granted is not sufficient enough to support a sustainable lifestyle. With no rights to their land, no sense of home, and a rapidly dying culture, native americans have been dealt with in the worst ways possible after their own massacre and consistently broken treaties. An analysis of the Indian reservationsystem in the US provides deeper insight to the idea that the treatment of natives has left profound, long lasting negative impacts on the lives of native Americans. BODY PARAGRAPH NUMBER 1: (PUT IN TOPIC SENTENCE) Some officials in the early years of the American republic, such as President George Washington, believed that the best way to solve this Indian problem was simply to civilize the Native Americans. The goal of this civilization campaign was to make Native Americans as much like white Americans as possible by encouraging them convert to Christianity, learn to speak and read English, and adopt European style economic practices such as the individual ownership of land and other property (including, in some instances in the South, African slaves). Analysis: This quote shows the urgency by the US government to wipe out native culture during the start of the reservation system. Words used in this quote such

Lor Raney Civ II Research Paper 4/22/16 Roles of African American Women during the Abolitionist Movement Many are well aware of the historical movement the, Abolitionist Movement but, are they aware of the women that were involved? When the abolitionist movement started, its goal was to immediately emancipate all slaves and the end racial discrimination and segregation in the North and South. However, they weren t granted emancipation until the 1870s. During this movement there were many men activists involved as well as women activists. Women during this era, fought not only in the front line for rights, but also behind the scenes as they integrated their rights for freedom in their daily lives. Women abolitionists fought for freedom through educating blacks, both free and enslaved, circulating petitions, writing letters/poems, and publishing articles about anti slavery into periodicals such as the Liberator. There was such diversity in the women, who participated in anti slavery activities, the variety of the goals or purposes in which they pursued, and the barriers in which they faced as women. A woman who was very involved in the movement was Maria W. Stewart. Stewart was an African Americanwoman who, after her husband died and got the inheritance he left for her taken away by the white executors of her husband s will, published many essays on religion, racism, and slavery. She was connected with an abolitionist publisher William Lloyd Garrison who
  • 14. The National Football League And Its Effect On Society The National Football League was created in September, 1920 and has since influenced America not only economically but personally as the sport s dangers are slowly unmasked. The National Football League has been covering up the corruption that has been going on for many decades and as people begin to dig, many hidden truths are beginning to be uncovered. When people think about the NFL, they are reminded of the sport that many have loved so much but little does our society realize the major economic effects that the NFL has on America. Not all of us realize how much of our tax dollars go towards new football stadiums, the massive parking lots used for games, and the football players themselves. The National Football Leagueclaims to be nonprofit, yet it is clear that it is far from that. In addition to the economic effects, it also has a more personal impact on our lives as more research is showing the health hazards of playing football. The multiple head traumas that football players get leads to chronic conditions such as CTE, a newer diagnosis, which causes many players to experience symptoms such as brain deterioration, suicidal thoughts and ultimately death. Many parents put their kids in a football league starting at a very young age but are unaware of the dangers they are exposing their children to.There have been several cases of sudden deaths from young players including Andre Jackson, a football player from Ohio High School who died suddenly two days after

Tenant landlord law The federal registration as well the state property laws lays out the laws surrounding both the tenant and the landlord. Houses, mobile homes, apartments, are governed property laws. These laws are documented in the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1967 to 1994, Residential Tenancies (Amendment) as well as Residential Tenancies Act 2004. These laws do not cover tenants who have rented a room in the landlord s home. A tenant can ask the other tenants to reduce noise, if it is disturbing, and if this is not stopped, he can file a formal complaint. Every tenant is entitled to a minimum accommodation standard. For example, the landlord must ensure that the property is under proper structural repair. The property should be in a proper state including doors, stairs, tiles etc. All the areas must be maintained in good condition and repair and must not be defective due to dumpiness. Equipment and machines under laundry, food preparation and food storage should be availed. Some of these are outlined in Article 7 of the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 1993. In order to answer my question, I will focus on male authority and will work to analyze how patterns, rhetoric, and overall publication of Sor Juana s work challenge the power dynamic..The question I want answer is how Sor Juana s work was able to alter cultural attitudes that did not permit women to pursue education and intellectual exploration. My argument is that through her critical language and the act of producing her poems Sor Juana is able to challenge the oppressive society run by males therefore creating a change in the gender norms of her time. This is based off of research of the history of patriarchy in Colonial Mexico, critical analyses of Sor Juana s writing, understanding of the impact of her writing, and articles suggesting that Sor Juana was influential in altering culture in Mexico. Particularly, I found it interesting that articles explored her language focusing on the gender role she discusses. In this essay I will explore the restrictive cultural norms that pushed Sor Juana to enter the convent as a way to continue writing and publish her work and then proceed to analyze how her writing reflects her

The objective of this reflection is to expose critically how I could evaluate my own experience with relation to the theories and ideas about Leadership. In other words, how this lecture and insights changed my personal notion, as well, how I could amplify my knowledge about this subject. But I assume that the most important is to demonstrate how the application of Leadership skill is relevant in my career in the future. I have chosen three topics I thought was more relevant to develop my personal reflections connecting with my experience and why to comprehend these topics will be essential to my development: Leadership and Management Charismatic and Transformational Leadership Leadership and Gender Summarizing the idea of Leadership that I have researched, in my opinion, is the capacity to conduct followers to reach goals. Leaders convince followers the necessity of a leadership group to achieve the success. And although, followers use their own expertise to complete a job, they need to be driven by a Leader. A Leader exerts a certain power and influence in their follower that can be direct or indirect. An effective leader knows how to extract the best ability from each follower and although the skill belongs to the followers, some of them perform better when is conducted by a Leader. The Ideas Of Tropes In The Faerie Queene And Eurydice There is the parent who attempts to give advice and shield their children Li l Bit s mother, and the relative the main character can confide in Uncle Peck. This supports the idea that although tropes and clichГ©s are discouraged, they can be an integral part of a text. Most writing isn t truly original since writers draw their inspirations from elsewhere and are influenced by things that came before. If these tropes and clichГ©s did not persist throughout time, then writers would not continue to be influenced by them and create the pieces that they have. Ruhl and Vogel were both influenced by Greek mythologyand Greek choruses, which allowed them to produce unique and modern texts that contained those classical elements. Even Edmund Spenser, who authored the epic poem The Faerie Queene drew from Greek mythology, Greek names, places, and people to create a piece of literature that is relatable and understandable, even though it is over 400 years old. Humans, as a whole, have not changed too much since the beginning of time, so the interwoven character tropes are recognizable then and now. These literary devices transcend time and continue to be used in the present. One could find cruel villains in both The Faerie Queene and Eurydice. Whether it s the wicked magician Archimago, in the case of The Faerie Queene, or A Nasty Interesting Man Hadesin the case of Eurydice. Hades is always represented as the bad boy, the villain, and this is true in Eurydice. It is with him that she

You don t have the option of paying down your mortgage If you have a 15 year mortgage, you are locked into a certain payment that will be higher than a 30 year mortgage of the same interest rate. But with a 30 year mortgage, you still have the option of paying more if you choose to. In fact, there are investment experts who claim that making a double payment early in a 30 year mortgage is a good, long term investment. The point to remember is that you are less likely to be able to do this with a 15 year mortgage. The payments will simply be too high. Keep the above ideas in mind when contemplating a 15 year mortgage; they are not for everyone. The mortgage that is best for you will be the one that fits your personal finances

By providing learning opportunities for educators, PD providers introduce new policies to teachers and provide strategies for implementing changes (Knapp 2003; Little, 1993). Since they interface with teachers, they have the ability to shape and interpret ideas about a policy. Coburn (2005b; 2006), for example, has shown that professional development providers actively filter, frame, and interpret the meaning of reforms as they present them to teachers. The nature of the framing impacts how teachers understand and implement the demands of new policies. Outside of this research, little attention has been paid to PD providers as a group of actors operating in the educational environment. Consequently, we know little about the inner workings of the professional development sector. There is little empirical evidence about the actors and organizations involved in providing PD (Coburn et al., 2015 is an exception) or the ideas they are promoting. Furthermore, we know almost nothing about the nature of social relationships among professional development providers and how they interact to share and promote ideas. While we know that ideas matter in the implementation process and that PD providers have the potential to shape the ideas teachers encounter, there are no studies to date that explore how PD providers promote and share ideas about new policy efforts. Blindness in King Lear Essays Blindness is defined as, according to dictionaries, unable to see and lacking the sense of sight , but in King Lear, written by William Shakespeare, it has a relatively new definition. King Lear and the Earl of Gloucester are the two characters who make up the parallel double plot of the tragedy caused of their lack of sight, mental blindness. They both undergo a very similar plot and suffer from their false decisions, the ones they feel very remorseful of later on. It is not ok whatsoever. Instead of dehumanizing people and making them feel worthless and like animals National Security, and other humans, should treat people equally and not like objects, make them feel comfortable and not take away their rights because we are all humanand all equal. Propaganda Techniques Today s Advertising By Anne Mcclintock In the essay, Propaganda Techniques in Today s Advertising by Anne McClintock, McClintock shows seven different ways that propaganda is used. One mostly used by advertisement today would be Glittering Generalities, using positive words to bring attraction to their product while concealing the actual meanings. They will use inspiring words that are very vague that the consumer would not really understand what the product would really do to benefit them but would be inspired to buy it anyways. Another technique mostly used would be Testimonial, were producers would pay celebrities to advertise their product for them since they have more fame than normal actors. Advertisement used today is targeted to make the consumer believe that what they are paying for is the real deal when it is only beneficial for the producers. Advertisements are used to promote a product by the positive effects enthusiastically but when describing the side effects they are done fast and in small letters. When one watches a commercial in the television, or hears it on the radio, one mostly hears the what the producers wants them to hear. They will explain their product, giving the pros of what it was made to do and how its a better option than other products in the market. When they are done with their sale at the very end most of commercials give you in small font the rest of the financial information, additional fees, or even side effects with a very fast voice most of the time reading it to you.
