Review Of Richard Strauss s The Ring Of The Nibelungen
Wilhelm Richard Wagner (German, 22 May 1813 13 February 1883) was a German composer,

polemicist. He was a pivotal figure in the history of German opera Front undertake Mozart,

thought, has become the most controversial in the history of European music figures. [1]
Richard Wagner began as a continuation of Carl Maria von Weber and Giacomo Meyerbeer s
romantic tradition, but later proposed the concept of art as a whole, the integration of poetry,
visual arts, opera and theater, and He made a number of discussions between the 1849 and 1852.

Summary Of Lucky Child By Loung Ung
The book Lucky Child by Loung Ung tells The story about Loung who was fortunate to escape the
terrifying invasion of the Khmer Rouge and find a safe haven in America. The pressure of dealing
with assimilation and trying to fit helps support Loung in finally embracing who she really is.
Loung is a ten year old girl living in the town of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Loung was once a
normal village girl. She had friends and went to school. All that changed when the Khmer Rouge
came into power in 1975. When Pol Pot s communist Khmer Rouge stormed into the city April 17,
1975, my charmed life came to an end. On that day, Cambodia became a prison and all its citizens
prisoners. (1). Loungs life takes a sudden turn, Her once luxurious life has turned ... Show more

be independent and wild like the girls she sees on T.V. One day when Loung was playing with
some friends she had accidentally hit Li and cut her lip. After she went home she sat in her
closet so angry and ashamed. Meung sits outside the closet doors and consoles her. Telling him
it was an accident Muang proceeds to tell Loung You are not a boy, You don t need to play so
aggressive (58). Loung acts a different way at home than she does at school. Being a proper girl
is a very important aspect of the Cambodian culture. Being proper and having the best etiquette is
a way to show how high your status is. Women demonstrate their high status through proper
behavior. This includes both proper comportment and correct actions. Women are to walk slowly
and softly, be so quiet in their movements that one cannot hear the sound of their silk skirt
rustling .(Ledgerwood 112). Loung starts to wear more revealing clothes as she grows older. She
puts on makeup and flirts with boys as she sees the other girls in her class doing. When her
brother starts to notice he gets angry at Loung, Accusing her of throwing herself away to impress

Jason And Medea Research Paper
The story of Jason and Medea is a tragedy that tells of love, hate, overcoming obstacles, and death.
The story, though, begins long before Jason and Medea meet. To really understand the story, we
start with Jason s childhood.
Jason is the son of King Aeson of Iolcas. When Jason was a baby, his father s thrown was overtaken
by Pelias, Jason s half uncle, when he killed all of Aeson s children except Jason. To protect
Jason, he was sent to live with the centaur Chiron. In the meantime, Pelias had succeeded in
taking over the thrown, he thanked all the gods except Hera and he consulted an oracle who told
him to be weary of a man with one sandal for that man would be Pelias downfall. As an adult,
Jason decided to return to Iolcas and take back his father s crown. While traveling to Iolcas, at
the river Anauros, Hera, a goddess, presented Jason with a test. Disguised as an old woman, she
began to pretend to flounder in the water. Jason having seen her struggle jumped in the water to
save her. Due to his chivalry, Hera blessed Jason, as he was carrying her across the river he lost one

Aristotle though described tragedy as a way for playwrights to sway the audience into feelings
of pity or even fear. This tale follows two people so caught up in their own selves that their
situations leave you feeling both pity and fear for both characters. Jason, in my opinion, was
living a life directed by gods. Each test he overcame was with the help of a god. He never really
completed anything on his own. His battles were fought by others including Hercules and
Polydeuces. It really makes you pity him. It s like his life was not his own. Medea on the other hand
lived her life as she saw fit. Her headstrong attitude and special powers made her dangerous. If
Jason had feared her as he should have, he would have seen the peril he was inflicting on himself.
Medea s love for Jason was so

Essay on intellectual property copyrights
Arka Bani Maini (10020510 )
Mid term paper on IPR : Copyrights
Intellectual Property
Intellectual Property refers to all the intangible creations of the human mind, from scientific
inventions to literary and artistic works; from symbols to names and images used in commerce.
Earlier, Neo classical economics considered land, labour and capital as things of value. But
slowly information and energy are replacing them as wealth creating assets.[1]As , the world gets
more and more mobile , information can be transported instantaneously around the world , and
any advantage gained by a rival company can be discarded effectively overnight. In such a scenario,

Analysis Of Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Freshly...
Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Featuring Lzzy Hail and Freshly Ground s Pot Belly, depict two
different categories of perception: perceptions of oneself and perceptions of others. These
perceptions, though diverse, show a modern day view of how people are characterized and viewed
externally. The latter music videoreveals two people and their perceptions of each other; in
contrast, the first video displays one person s view of not only themselves, but also the world
around them. Viewed side by side, both videos show how perceptions shape the tolerance and the
understanding people have about themselves. Together, these videos show that most perceptions are
not fully factual, but rather are often distorted and limited as a result of the... Show more content on

Consequently, she acts and behaves in this predicted manner; a figure of perfection surrounded
by a glass globe, the stereotype of who she perceives herself to be, but more importantly, by the
way she perceives others view her and expect her to act. While imprisoned in this globe, she feels
she cannot act upon her own volition as she can only reanimate once a key is turned.
As Lindsey Stirling s video continues, it becomes clear that the ballerina is tired and unhappy with
this banal routine. An effective picture is painted of the warped perceptionshe has of herself and,
conversely, her view of the world. This is especially highlighted when she observes light coming
from outside the globe and a spark of hope appears on her face. This, in turn, motivates her to
shatter the glass surrounding her, but she is unsuccessful in this attempt, despite the appearance of
cracks in the glass. Before long, the music stops and she becomes lifeless. Once again, the key is
turned, and the ballerina reanimates and commences with what is expected. At this point in the
video, the trapped ballerina catches a glimpse of a butterfly outside the globe before it morphs
back into the bat she has always seen. This brings the realization that perhaps her view and
perceptions are not what they seem and this galvanizes her. She gathers up

Cultural And Political Causes Of The Darfur Genocide In Sudan
INTRODUCTION
Genocide is defined as the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural
group. The Darfur Genocide refers to the current mass slaughter and rape of men, women, and
children in Western Sudan (Mitchell Hamline School of Law). Not only are these atrocities
happening, but the Darfurians are being force from their land and into refugee camps, mainly in the
country Chad, but also other countries like Ethiopia or Kenya. Darfur genocide causes can be found
both culturally and politically. The cultural and political causes come from the same source of that
being an underdeveloped country with no effective government protecting the rights of the
Darfurians. Darfurians were violently pushed around, physically and mentally, with the western
world not stepping in to assist. Although eventually, both Britain and the United Nations came to
the same conclusion that the atrocities occurring in Darfur were genocide and one of the world s
worst humanitarian crises (Thomson Reuters). Genocide occurred in Sudan in the Darfur region
starting in 2003 and continues today. The long standing divide between Arab herding tribes and the
African farming tribes and the political opportunism arising from the environmental calamity led to
the genocide in Sudan.
CAUSES
a.Political Cause. Politically, Darfur genocide is rooted in the government s role of funding,

Dysbindin-1 Case Study
Dysbindin 1 promotes Drp1 oligomerization
Mitochondrial fission requires dynamin related protein 1 (Drp1). Drp1 is a large GTPase that can
assemble into oligomers with enhanced GTPase activity. Drp1 is predominantly located in the
cytosol and can be recruited to mitochondria to mediate mitochondrial fission by forming an
oligomeric ring around the mitochondrial tubule to constrict and sever mitochondrial outer
membranes 38 43. Having found that dysbindin 1 regulates mitochondrial fission, we proceeded to
test whether dysbindin 1 is involved in the association of Drp1 with mitochondria. Cultured
hippocampal neurons (DIV14) were transfected with the mitoDsRed plasmid along with the
dysbindin 1 siRNAs, scrambled siRNAs, dysbindin 1C or 1A ... Show more content on

The mitochondrial fraction of sdy hippocampi contained more monomeric Drp1 and fewer higher
order Drp1 oligomers than that of WT hippocampi, while the whole cell lysate of WT and sdy
hippocampi had comparable amounts of monomeric and oligomeric Drp1 (Figure 4A C). These
results indicate that dysbindin 1 is required for Drp1 oligomerization on mitochondria.
Given that dysbindin 1C promotes the recruitment of Drp1 to mitochondria (Figure 3A C), we
assessed Drp1 oligomers in cultured hippocampal neurons transduced with lentivirus expressing
dysbindin 1C or 1A. Overexpression of dysbindin 1C, but not 1A, increased higher order Drp1
oligomers and decreased monomeric Drp1 in the mitochondrial fraction (Figure 4D F). Hence,
dysbindin 1C promotes Drp1 oligomerization on mitochondria.
How does dysbindin 1 regulate Drp1 oligomerization? Dysbindin 1 has been detected on
mitochondrial outer membranes by electron microscopy 28. It is possible that dysbindin 1 binds
to Drp1 to enhance its oligomerization. To test this possibility, we transfected HEK 293 cells with
YFP Drp1 along with HA tagged dysbindin 1C or 1A, and used an anti HA antibody to
immunoprecipitate dysbindin 1 at 2 days after transfection. Drp1 was detected in the
immunoprecipitation product from cells transfected with dysbindin 1C, but not with 1A plasmid
(Figure 4G), indicating that

A Brief Note On California s Water Crisis
The case study that I will be analyzing and responding to is a major environmental issue in many
areas, especially with the state of California. California s water crisis is a major issue that has
brought the attention to many people to try to fix the problem. With the Central Valley being the
agricultural capital of the world, the current droughtissue that we are facing is not only historic, but
also very alarming for several reasons. With the current record breaking drought in California, there
are three factors that are said to be the reasons for causing the drought, which includes rising
temperatures, shortage of water from the Colorado River, and depletion in groundwater
(Macdonald, 2015). With rising temperatures over the years, the environmental changes that occur
with this are an increase in evaporation, which is taking water from reservoirs and other sources
where irrigation is coming from. With climate change with higher temperatures, this is taking away
water that is needed to water the many crops that produce vegetation that is distributed all across
the United States. The threatening of water supplies, especially here in the state of California is an
issue that is very much real and is something that should not be ignored. The second concern that
comes with the water crisisin California comes from the Colorado River water shortage. With the
Colorado River being the greatest source of water for all of Southern California, the source of
water has declined

Insubordination Case Summary
Was Alice Hill justified in not returning to change the grade? Why or why not?
Alice is justified in not returning to change the grade because the student has to earn the grade, he
could have tried to correct it before leaving class. The principal and Alice s colleagues are trying to
peer pressure her into doing something that is not beneficial for the student it only benefits the
school s reputation. School authorities should avoid any actions regarding evaluation for dismissal
that may be viewed as harassment or intimidation by the affected teacher (Essex, 2012, p. 267).
Alice is protected by tenure for this type of situation, it is restated that tenure protects teachers from
well connected parents who may push their own children s interests to the detriment of others
(DeMitchell Onosko, 2016, p. 4 5), which is similar to this case.
Does the principal have sufficient grounds to recommend insubordination? Why or why not?
The principal does not have sufficient grounds to recommend insubordination. School officials
should be knowledgeable of their state s statutory definition of insubordination and ensure that
cases involving insubordination are well documented . It is stated that insubordination is viewed as
the willful failure or inability to obey a reasonable and valid administrative directive (Essex, 2012,

Before recommending a dismissal for Alice s performance, she must undergo procedural and
substantive due process. The burden of proof resides with the board of education to show cause
based on a preponderance of evidence (Essex, 2012, p. 254), and in this case the only problem is
her changing a grade for an athlete, which is not a reason for dismissal. Teachers may be
dismissed only for specified reasons that are based on objective and documentable evidence (Essex,

Disadvantages Of Mirrors
DECORATING WITH MIRROS: DO IT THE RIGHT WAY
Mirrors are not usually the things to people pay attention to the most when decorating their rooms.
Not everyone realizes the practical and exciting benefits than mirrors can bring to a space. It is
such a waste if we don t know how to make use of these beautiful, elegant but underrated decorative
items. These are handy tips you should bear in mind when decorating your house with mirrors:
1. Recognizing the benefits that using mirrors can bring
A well placed mirror can effortlessly change a room s appearance. Mirrors are not necessarily

There are cases when a bold statement piece is all that you need to make a room shine. A ideal
place for mirrors to showcase their beauty and benefits is the dinning room.
Follow feng shui rules
Feung shui is an ancient Chinese methods of positioning objects to create a harmonious
environment. Feng shui rules can be really useful in creating harmony and comfort.
According to these rules, a good mirror should be clean and clear. It must be in one piece (a
broken mirror is bad luck) and is placed in a suitable height so that you don t have to bend down
or stand on tiptoe. One of the areas that is considered unsuitable for mirror is the bedroom: a mirror
over the headbroad can be acceptable.
It is fine to hang a mirror over the entry ways to welcome your guest or over a fireplace to balance
the energy and reflect the soft, flickering fire.
3. And the Donts
Don t just place them anywhere Mirrors can act as nice decorative items, yes. But they should be
used creatively to enhance a room s appearance or reflect something that is worth our attention. A
big mistake people often make with mirrors is to let them reflect just random, unattractive stuffs or

Everyone has feelings same as animals just to look at their face or eyes you would know about

their lover. Olanna has reached her goal because Odenigbo is upset and frustrated at hearing her
love affair with Richard. He is obliged to forgive her the way she did to him. Adichie puts
Odenigbo in the same condition he has put Olanna in to show that men through patriarchy

The situation reminds me of a custom in Things Fall Apart where the woman should say
publicly how many men have slept with her since her fiancГ© has first expressed the desire to

Essay On How Did The North s Industry Lead To Northern...
To What Extent did the North s Industry lead to Northern Victory? The North s industrial
dominance was a major factor of why the won the war as it was an underlying factor to the other
aspects of how they won. Through the North s industrial prominence it allowed them to be a much
more versatile and flexible army through transportation, population and financial supremacy. The
Northern industry allowed them to produce war goods and to be an independent economy, which
had a major play to their success in the war. The lack of emphasis on manufacturing and commercial
interest, stemming from the Southern desire to preserve their traditional agricultural society,
disadvantaging themselves to the North and their ability to function independently. It was neither
Northern troops nor generals that won the Civil War, rather Northern guns and industry. Northern
states produced 97% of firearms in the US which allowed war materials to be much more

A Contest Of Smiles, The Smile, And Female Actors
To Smile Or Not To Smile In a contest of smiles, who would win women or men? That answer just
so happens to be women. But why women? According to Amy Cunningham in, Why Women Smile,
women smiles are automatic (though it can be true for either sex) as they are controlled by society
s expectations. Cunningham has even experienced this herself, from her friends and even her
husband. One of her friends told her that they associate her with her smile, calling it her essence
and that she should smile more (Cunningham 369). Her husband calls her smiling face
unthreatening and because of that demeanor, people like her in a fuzzy way, despite that not
being her goal (369). Not only with firsthand experience, Cunningham also pertains details from
history, scientific evidence, and culture into her article as well. From baby reflexes to Mona Lisa
s mysterious smile and female actors, she uses her information in a way that people can
accumulate some sort of connection of what she s writing into their lives. Connecting one personal
story or experience to another can make people empathize, especially if the general target audience
is towards to women as per this article. Using this, Cunningham uses her personal connective
approach and informative evidence to prove that smiles of the womanly kind are being used too
much and used wrongly. In this case, I agree with Cunningham s point in her explanation about the
reason why women really smile by how she utilizes her approach in the

The Ban on Same Sex Marriage
Have you ever seen something in society that just angers you and you wish it would change?
Well I have, and it is the ban on same sex marriage. Homosexuals should be able to get married. I
believe this because the main opposition of this are hypocrites, there are actions that are worse
than same sex marriage that are legal, and there is nothing wrong with it. The main opposition
of this are hypocrites. The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support
for their campaign against same sex marriage are hypocrites. The book of Leviticus states that
no man shall lie with another man. The same book also states that eating any sea creature
without fins or scales is unholy, so why isn t there a campaign for banning the consumption of
shrimp, seaweed, clams, etc.? The book of Mark states to treat others as you would yourself. So
why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual community, even though we would hate to be
ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this
is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go door to door trying to convert people, as do
many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are worse things than same sex marriage that are
legal. It is legal to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Cigarettes destroy the cells, preventing them
from getting oxygen, leading to shortness of breath. Alcohol destroys brain cells, and slows motor
function. The drugs above both are addictive and

How Did Huck Finn Influence Tom Sawyer
As the book starts, Huck introduces himself by stating about his character in The Adventures of
Tom Sawyer. He opens the book by saying what a great book it is. Being the narrator, Huck
explains that Mark Twain, author, told the truth in Tom Sawyer, which was to expose the racial
discrimination against African Americans.
In the next few lines, Huck describes the events that have happened since the end of The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom also influences Huck and gives in and returns to the Widow, but
we begin to see his hatred and apathy for the society as the novel goes on. Moreover, it looks like
the widow is affectionate towards Huck, since she feels like a mother to him. But Huck doesn t

tougher for Huck. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen when he says I don t take no stock in dead people. As Miss Watson explains how
Heaven is, Huck starts to think that Heaven is dull and boring. This is shown when Huck says So
I didn t think much of it. He believes there is no fun in singing, playing the harp and wandering
around all day long. Huck also likes Tom so much that he wants to say with him even in Hell. In
short, these quotes show that Huck doesn t believe in religion.
In this quote, the Widow tries to influence Huck by telling him her point of view on Providence
and religion. In addition, Huck believes that he is not worthy of doing this kind of work because
he is selfish. He believes there is no advantage in helping others because he says I couldn t see no
advantage about it except for the other people.
Twain puts a lot of imagery in this quote to describe Huck s father. Huck s father, Pap, is shown
as a typical southerner. He drinks a lot and is often violent. When he is found dead, there are many
playing cards lying around him with empty alcohol

A Complex Solution Of Israel And Palestine
A Complex Solution As Israel and Palestine struggle to compromise over the notion of a two state
solution, the possibility of a one state solution could change long standing opinions, and could
impact the futures of both sides. The highly controversial two state solution is possible because of
Israel s aversion to the one state solution, the changing youth of Palestine, and the balance required
to regain peace. While the two state solution is dreaded by Israels government and people,
becoming a binational state with Palestine is more concerning to Israelis. Having a two state
solution would mean a loss of land and control for Israel, but a one state solution would require
the Israeli government to grant citizenship and voting rights to Palestinians. If this option was
implemented, voting rights would give Palestinians access to the Israeli Knesset, where
decisions regarding their lives are really made (Rumley and Tibon 2015, 82). With differing
cultural and religious views, combining Israelis and Palestinians into one state would change the
amount of power each would have over their personal lives, as well as their politics. The country
would have to deal with approximately 4.5 million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza
asking not for land of their own but for a voice and a role inside Israel itself (Rumley and Tibon
2015, 82). This concept of no longer being a Jewish state is so unappealing and unacceptable to the
Israeli government, that if Palestinians

the Dropsonde Sensor. This conclusion is clearly evident for a number of reasons. For instance,

The ending
In this essay I am going to analyze the short story The Kangaroo . The main themes in this essay is
growing up, and becoming a man. It is a short story written by John Michael.
This short story written by John Michael is told from a 3rd person subjective perspective, and is
limited to the boy, who is the main character. This is caused by the way we see everything from
the outside (camera view), but we still know what is going on outside of the boy s head. The way
you can see that it is a 3rd person narrator and not an omniscient narrator is because we only follow
one characters development through the story. You can see that in this quote:

Tale Of Two Cities Symbolism Analysis
You might be thinking, What is Dickens s hint of magic. Well, in the book A Tale of Two Cities
by Charles Dickens, written in 1859, Dickens uses symbolism to give the readers a hint about what
will come later on in the story. Charles Dickens had written this book with the setting during the
French revolution. During this period in the book France was against its unequal hierarchy; mostly
stated by the peasants who couldn t earn money and poor who hated the rich because they thought
the rule of being born into a class was unfair. The Revolution initially started when the Bastille, a
prison where Dr. Manette was first imprisoned by the Evremonde brothers because Manette could
have spread the word about their wrongdoings, was taken down.... Show more content on

Because this group lacks a right way to earn money, they try to do different jobs which could
even be illegal. The author uses symbolism with the character Jerry Cruncher to foreshadow his
secret occupation of being a resurrection man to earn extra money. One example of this is his
rusty hands. Cruncher s rusty hands get spotted by his son, and then little Jerry says, Always
rusty! His fingers are always rusty! muttered Young Jerry. Where does my father get all that iron
rust from? He doesn t get no iron rust here(Dickens 43)! Jerry s fingers do not actually have rust;
they have sand and grime from when he goes to dig up graves. Because he doesn t get it from his
house, as young Jerry stated, it indicates that he isn t honest and that he is doing all this behind
his family s back. Dickens also uses Jerry s muddy boots to foreshadow the scene where Jerry
Cruncher s illegal money earning job is exposed. As Jerry Cruncher wakes up to his wife praying,
which he hates, he throws his muddy boot at her, then the narrator says, After hailing the morn with
this second salutation, he threw a boot at the woman as a third. It was a very muddy boot, and may
introduce the odd circumstance connected with Mr. Cruncher s domestic economy, that, whereas
he often came home after banking hours with clean boots, he often got up next morning to find the

Why Is Mahalia Jackson Called The Gospel Queen
The Gospel Queen Mahalia Jackson was known as the Gospel Queen as she lived her life
inspiring many African Americans. Jackson was born on October 26, 1911, into a poor family
in New Orleans, Louisiana. She had six people in her family: her mother, Clarity Jackson; her
father, John Jackson, Sr.; her brothers, Wilmon and John Jackson, Jr.; and her sisters, Pearl and
Yvonne Jackson. Living in the segregated South, Jackson s father had several jobs; he was a
longshoreman, a barber, and a preacher. Her mother, the one who took care of the six as a
devout Baptist, unfortunately, died when Jackson was five. Young Mahalia Jackson started
singing at the age of 4 in Mount Moriah Baptist Church. In 1963, before Dr. King delivered his I
Have a Dream speech, Mahalia Jackson sang an inspirational song called I Been Buked and I
Been Scorned, to over 200,000 people. Mahalia Jackson, unfortunately, died on January 27, 1972,
never fulfilling her dream of building a nondenominational temple. Dedicated to Mahalia The
Mahalia Jackson Theatre was built and is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was dedicated to
the Gospel Queen for letting the world experience her music. Two major influences that impacted

Principles And Practices Of Incident Management And...
CHAPTER TWO
PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF INCIDENT MANAGEMENT AND INCIDENT RESPONSE
STRENGTHS
The information security incident management policy of Blyth s Books was created in 2010 and
has been reviewed four times in five years. Those covered by its scope are clearly stated. It stresses
the importance of incident management to the organisation and has the support of upper level
management.
This policy complies with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) which was an act made to secure
computer systems and networks from unapproved access. By complying with legal obligation,
Blyth s Books can pursue legal or disciplinary action against anyone (employee or otherwise) guilty
of breaching their systems.
WEAKNESSES
The Data Protection Act (1998) provides the principles which must be adhered to in order to ensure
the total protection of data while the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035
presents organisations with guidance in the management of information security incidents. This
standard stipulates that an organisation should have a clear and concise information security
incident management policy. The security incident management policy of Blyth s Books while
compliant with the Computer Misuse Act (1990) does not show that it is compliant with the Data
Protection Act (DPA) (1998) and the DPA (1998) being a legal aspect of the International
Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27035, which must be adhered to, this policy is also not
compliant with the standard.

Let s look at the first question: Why should an experienced hunter hire pro hunting outfitters? There

Every part of the country operates a little differently. In many areas, private land hunting is
preferred because food plots and established game management insure a healthy herd of game
with a good buck/doe ratio, insuring the chances of a nice trophy buck. If you don t have access
to private hunting land that has been properly managed, you could gain access by hiring pro
hunting outfitters or paying to have access to the land for a do it yourself type of hunt or pay a
trespass fee to hunt on private ranches. In remote areas, especially out west and in Canada, hunts
are on national forests and public land. Good hunting outfitters will have intimate knowledge of the
local game and also have access to hunt in high demand or specific game units.
Hunting Outfitters have invested in all the necessary hunting equipment. Good hunting outfitters
will have expensive equipment including tree stands, shooting houses, safety equipment, ATVs,
snowmobiles, boats, walkie talkies and all the other things you probably don t care to purchase or
have room to store in your garage. And also, think about care and training of hunting dogs (if
needed). A lot of time, money and TLC goes into maintaining a professional hunting operation!

The Difference Between The Temperature Of A Mixture With...
The independent variable for part A is the temperature of the reactant. The variable is manipulated
by using three different temperature of reactant to be mixed with hydrochloric acid. One of which
is in room temperature (24В°C) , the second one heated to 40В°C and the other cooled for five
minutes forming an 8В°C mixture. The dependent variable is the time taken for cross mark to
disappear from sight. This will indicate the rate of reaction. The shorter the time needed, the higher
the rate of reaction. From the graph drawn above, we can see that as the temperature of the reactant
decreases, the time taken for the cross mark to disappear increases. Therefore, the higher the
temperature of the reactants, the higher the rate of reaction. As mentioned above, chemical reaction
can only occur if the reactant particles collide and achieve an equal or larger energythan the
activation energy. Based on this experiment, a higher temperature means that more heat energy is
supplied to the reactant particles. The heat energy is converted to kinetic energy of the reactant
particles making them move faster and collide at a higher speed. This allows the reactant particles
to possess more energy which can exceed the activation energy. Consequently, the frequency of
collision increases and the frequency of effective collision also increases. This indicates that more
collision can result in a chemical reaction. More products are formed per unit time and the rate of
reaction is high. Since

Women can have it all is an abstract that has been pushed heavily in recent feminist movements.

The National Association For The Education Of Young Children
According to Bredekamp (2014, p. 19), growing attention to early education primarily results from
impressive research demonstrating its effectiveness in improving outcomes for children .
Throughout this research, the organization National Association for the Education of Young

(Bredekamp, 2014, p. 5). These standards were created specifically to help families determine
which preschool, kindergarten or child care program would be best for their child ( The 10
NAEYC, n.d.). Each of these standards set forth by NAEYC are important in their own way to
ensure the quality of early childhood educationfacilities. NAEYC has created ten early childhood
program standards (Bredekamp, 2014, p. 20). The standards can be broken down into two
distinguished categories with the first set of five standards, which include relationships,
curriculum, teaching, assessment of children s progress and health focus on the children
(Bredekamp, 2014, p. 20 21). The NAEYC believes that a good quality child care facility should

Ordinary People Reflection
In the book, Ordinary People, by Judith Guest, Conrad Jarrett undergoes different stages in life
that occur after his incident. Throughout these phases he sees a change in himself as a whole. The
most pivotal moment in his psychological and moral development transpires when Dr. Berger
comes into Conrad s life. Dr. Berger becomes his guiding principle that eventually leads him to
progress in areas he struggles in such as forgiveness, happiness, and acceptance. Through these
developments Conrad is able to remain to who he once was but continue to live on with life.
As a result of his visitations with Dr. Berger, Conrad learns to seek for forgiveness not only in
his family but especially in himself. Essentially, in his life he struggles to understand the
concept of a guiding principle, A belief of some kind. A bumper sticker, if you will (pg. 1). A
guiding principle in Conrad s life that really helped him to forgive others was Dr. Berger, he
consistently pushes Conrad to look at things from different perspectives and to release all the
anger and guilt he feels inside. Notably, Berger was there the night Conrad needed help, I need to
see you, he whispers (pg. 219), in a moment of disparity, Berger evaluates Conrad and concludes
that he still feels at fault for practically everything that happened in his life. At his lowest moments,
any time that Conrad spends with Berger he begins to realize that he will only find growth in

Construction Of Construction Projects Project Manager
1.Construction is one of the major industry which involves a huge amount of capital and requires
human resources, equipment s, tools, materials and proper technique (Project Management

Compare And Contrast Lady Macbeth And Elizabeth The Golden...
Elizabeth the golden age an Oscar nominated award directed by Shekhar Kapur relates strongly to
William Shakespeare s Macbeth in many ways, such as how characters from each text relate to one
another, how similar themes are explored in both productions and how both revolve around the
same period, the Elizabethan period. However, the overarching similarity between the two is that,
in both Macbethand Elizabeth: The Golden Age, women hold power in their societies, whether it be
through their own ambition or through the natural order. Women in both the film and the play can
exert political power in male dominated societies, and to some extent in both theatre productions,
powerful women are born into their social and political status, but despite this, women must still to
some extent get rid of their feminist characteristics to fulfil this power, and thus the female
characters from each text differs in the outcome they meet due to their actions.
While women in both texts can indeed wield political power in patriarchal societies, the two texts
differ in the outcome the female characters meet because of this power. Both Lady Macbeth and
Queen Elizabeth I see their place as a vehicle for power and control in their societies. Lady Macbeth
can reach her power through manipulation of Macbeth, questioning his masculinity, thus resulting
in him feeling threatened, and forced to commit the acts he did, when you durst do it, then you

The East St. Louis Race Riots
Chloe Turner
Government, Mr. Wilson, Period 1
Abstract
This paper explains a very important moment in the history of our government that took place in
Illinois in 1917. As World War I was beginning for the United States things were heating up in
East St. Louis, Illinois. Anti black riots killed or injured over one hundred black civilians. Then
a Silent Parade of over ten thousand black citizens from New York broke out. Civil rights have
always been an issue in our government, and according to www.kidzworld.com, after these anti
black riots, things eventually led to the development of the The National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People, and from that, Rosa Parks did not give up her seat on the bus.
The creation of the NAACP also influenced the Little Rock, Arkansas incident, Martin L. King s I
Have a Dream Speech, and many other things which eventually led to equal rights for everyone
with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This paper will explain the riots and how it shaped our
government into providing equal jobs for all races.
The East St. Louis Race Riots As stated in a YouTube video from Nine Network, St. Louis back
in 1917 was a place of many jobs and it was often said that if you couldn t find work anywhere in

My Goals In My Life
The big question, What do I want to do with my life? floats through my mind more and more
often as graduation approaches. I have many goals and ambitions I wish to achieve after high
school, but deciding something as important as what career I should pursue has brought me much
uneasiness. These past few months I have struggled to figure out what I am truly passionate

Cheesecake Factory Structure

The organizational structures within a company can be the determining factor if a business can run

effective organizational structure which allows for its operations to run smoothly and enables the
Cheesecake factory to be one of the highest earning restaurant chains. The structure contains three

It is a centralized system, where decisions and recommendations come from the top down.
However it is also flexible giving any employee the freedom to reach out to an upper level
director. This succession of power lets Cheesecake Factory operate smoothly and competently.
Each location manager has to go through extensive training to be able to be in that position and is
well qualified to look over the whole restaurant. Given the success of Cheesecake factory, I would
say they should keep their hierarchal structure the same and if anything they should add higher
monitoring of lower levels. The upper levels seem to operate efficiently, but upon reading employee
reviews of working at Cheesecake factory, there were several that were unhappy with their general
managers. Many of them claimed that the management was unapproachable, and did not pay
attention to the hard work of the employees. It was also said that the managers tend to be
overbearing and lack communication skills with employees. Another overarching theme was the
inconsistent breaks because they are up to the discretion of the manager. My recommendation

make sure that the employees are satisfied. Promote company values more and participative
leadership and more incentive for employees to go above and beyond and focus on team building
as opposed to individual competition. In one of the reports they even said themselves that the
success of the business is due to happy employees. Our future growth and financial success will be

makes Jamaican culture globally recognized. However, despite its mainstream entertainment
value of today, reggae is not only music; however it is a way of life for some Jamaicans. It
originated as a political form of protest against the colonial forces operative in the social context of
Jamaican life. Musical ambassadors like the Abyssinians, Burning Spear, Sir Jimmy Cliff, Bob
Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Rita Marley, along with many others, can be credited with
introducing reggaemusic to the world and giving it international recognition. Yet, despite its
popularity, many do not understand the cultural and political climate in which Reggae... Show more

Artists would essentially hit two birds with one stone. The first bird was the ability to simply
perform their music. However the second bird isn t as simple as the first, it is the meaning. The
second was the protest against the Babylon system and oppression. To the Rastafari, the Babylon
system is any and all oppressive and unequal practices in Jamaica. Babylon began to surface
throughout reggae music. Reggae lyrics are suggestive of the reggae protest songs. Bob Marley
is a great example of capturing his strong negative views of Babylon. Reggae protest songs proved
to be a force with power, both socially and politically. Ironically the Jamaican government would
use reggae as a vehicle to promote its views (King, xiv).
Reggae never lost and will never lose its association with music and the Rastafari culture. It
remains a revolutionary form of explanatory art. Music never remains stagnate, it will always
evolve. Roots reggae; a sub genre of Reggae, was dominant in Jamaica in the cohort of 1975
1980. Roots reggae tackles the life of a ghetto sufferer and discusses truths and rights (Barrow
and Dalton, 129). Dancehall and the incorporation of hip hop rhythms was the new addition of
reggae. Dancehall became widely used after the death of Bob Marley in 1981 (Barrow and
Dalton, 231). In the 1990 s there comes a new generation of reggae artists. It was able to combine
conscious lyrics with the distinctive hardcore dancehall beats. Current reggae artists

Ptsd Deployion To Afghanistan Case Study
Upon learning more about Rod and his deployment to Afghanistan, as well as learning about the
symptoms that he presents with it was determined by the therapist to give the client the PTSD
checklist military version (PCL M). The PCL M is a self reportable measure that is compatible
with the symptoms of PTSD outlined in the DSM V (PTSD Check List Military Version, 2012).
There are 17 items in the PCL M that have to do with distress from a trauma over the last month
(PTSD Check List Military Version, 2012). The PCL M uses a five point Likert scalethat ranges
from 1 being not at all to 5 being extremely (PTSD Check List Military Version, 2012). Another
measure that can used includes the Structured Interview for PTSD (SI PTSD) (Verstrael, Van

The first criteria, being exposed to actual or threatened death is met by Rod s combat deployment
to Afghanistan and witnessing battle buddies die as well as the shooting of the boy. The second
criteria, intrusive symptoms, is met by Rod s flashbacks and constant nightmares. The third
criteria, avoidance of trauma related stimuli, is met because Rod is constantly avoiding his son as
he is reminded of the boy that he shot. The fourth criteria, negative alterations in cognitions and
mood, is met by feeling guilty and blaming himself for the death of the young boy as well as being
detached from his family (APA, 2013). Finally, the fifth criteria is met because the client is
experiencing irritability and angry outbursts towards his wife and son with little or no provocation.
With this information, it is recommended to continue on with EMDR.
Treatment Plan Compared to both pharmaceuticals and other forms of psychotherapy, EMDR has
proven to be effective in the treatment of PTSD (Shapiro, 2002). There have been approximately
twenty controlled studies that proved this (Shapiro, Laliotis, 2010). EMDR has been recommended
as a first line of treatment including by the American Psychiatric Association (Shapiro, Laliotis,
2010). EMDR uses bilateral stimulation such as auditory tones, tactile taps and

Meletus Occurrence Of Death Of Socrates
The city of Athens put the philosopher Socrates on trial on three charges; corrupting the cities
youth, denying the cities gods, and making the weaker speech the stronger. His accusers, Meletus
the poet being the primary and most vocal, tri him in front of judges for these charges, with the end
resulting in Socratesbeing sentenced to death. Socrates claims that they use these charges because
they are easy at hand for use against those who philosophize, and that they are not just. I do not
believe the sentence of death of Socrates by Athens was just, but its almost as if Socrates falls on
the sword.
Scorates is able to defend himself very well to the charges laid out against him, although
appearing a bit snide in his defense. This ability to defend himself may very well have provoked
some more harm than help for Socrates by furthering feelings that his speech made him appear as a
slick tongued wordsmith, but that s just a personal suspicion. ... Show more content on

Meletus states it is the law that makes the youth good. Socrates presses Meletus to be specific and
asks Meletus as to whom it is that makes sure the youth knows the laws. In reply Meletus claims
that it is the community that is responsible for knowing the laws, and then accepts that the
community provides good influences. Meletus is tricked into making the claim that the entire
population has a positive influence on the youth, with the only exception being Socrates. Socrates
then uses an analogy that only horse trainers who specialize in horses have a positive influence on
horses, where most people are unspecialized and would have a negative influence on them. Socrates
suggests that it takes such expertise to improve a horse it would be odd to think that pretty much
anyone can improve a

Grey Matter
Many people love music for a number of reasons, but what most people do not realize is that music
helps to develop the brain. Studies on the correlation between music and the human brain have been
conducted by neuroscientists at Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Oregon (Cole). Some
studies show how a musician s brainfunctions differently compared with a non musicians with a
sequential typing task (Tucker, Nguyen, and Stickgold), while others focus on how the brain
physically grows and what areas grow more drastically (Kanako, Eiji, and Shoji). The mind of a
musician contains stronger connections between regions, more processing power, and more grey
matter than non musicians. The grey matter allows musicians to process more information... Show

Musicians exhibit the benefits of a brain that processes information faster and potentially more
thoughtfully than their peers. Musicians also show more precise control over their fine motor
skills. Scientists from many countries have been able to consistently prove that musicians can
even exhibit increased awareness of their tactile and auditory senses and differentiate between
the two. There are also many job opportunities that musicians already have an advantage in,
solely because their brain has already been trained to work the way it will need to work in the
field. Musicians tend to benefit greatly due to their training, but even listening to music can
promote a positive work or learning environment. Music has a great and lasting impact on a
person s life. Whether the person chooses to accept or deny music as a beneficial part of their life
is up to them, but research has proven time and time again that music will help a person immensely

A Research On Pedestrian Detection
The four papers about pedestrian detection we chose to summarize were great and informative,
all suggested useful techniques and new ideas in deep learning for pedestrian detection.
However, there were few open issues or room for improvement in some of the papers. Here are
some of the ideas we suggested to resolve these issues in each paper.
Joint Deep Learning for Pedestrian Detection (UDN)
Even though the Unified Deep Net (UDN) method learned features by designing hidden layers for
the Convolutional Neural Network such that features, deformable parts, occlusions, and
classification can be jointly optimized, one of its problems is it treats pedestrian detection as a
single binary classification task, which is not able to capture rich pedestrian variations. For
example, the method is not able to distinguish pedestrians from hard negatives due to their visual
similarities. This problem can be resolved by jointly optimizing pedestrian detection with auxiliary
semantic tasks, such as including pedestrian attributes and scene attributes, which was represented
in our previous report.
Another problem with the UDN method is it did not explicitly model mixture of templates for
each body parts, and did not depress the influence of background clutters. Thus, the method could
be improved by explicitly model the complex mixture of visual appearance at multiple levels. For
example, some extra layers can be added into the hierarchy of the UDN, so that at each feature
level, this

Mental Deterioration In Hamlet
Madness does not have an exact cause but, rather it is the combination of psychological and
environmental factors that can cause mental deterioration. Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of
Hamlet, Prince of Denmark has the reoccurring theme of madness demonstrated through the
protagonist s downward spiral into insanity. Therefore, Shakespeare s tragic hero, Hamlet,
throughout the course of his journey, undergoing traumatic events, communications with the
supernatural and his inability to decipher right from wrong, ultimately prove his mental state to
have been affected, making him mad.
Repeated exposure to tragic events can trigger traumatic stress being a detrimental factor to an
individual s mental state. In The Tragedy of Hamlet, the protagonist, ... Show more content on

Hamlet s insanity peaks when he loses his principles of respecting human life. Hamlet shows no
remorse, Thou wretched, rash, intruding fool, farewell. /I took thee for thy better. Take thy
fortune. / Thou find st to be too busy is some danger (III.iv.185). He realizes he mistakenly killed
the wrong man, yet Hamlet shows no sign of regret for killing Polonius. Hamlet s lack of empathy
corroborates to the idea that his madness causes him to lose his humanity. In the beginning of the
play, Hamlet proves to be meticulous when it comes to attain revenge, however, Hamlet s madness
escalated to the point where Polonius is carelessly killed. Hamlet having experienced parental loss
and knowing the suffering it brings, in a right state of mind, no sane person would wish that
suffering onto another person. Author Barbara, notes, The loss of her [Ophelia s] father her link
to emotional security once she can no longer trust in her own perceptions is the final, fatal assault
on her tenuous mental stability and survival instinct (Smith 98).. Hamlet is insanely consumed
with revenge that he has become murderous and insensitive for not thinking about the sorrow
and grief it will give Laertes and Ophelia. Hamlet s actions are altered by his madness making
him unaware that he is the indirect cause of Ophelia s madness. When Hamlet s kills Polonius he
becomes conscienceless, nonetheless, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern s killings show the cynical
side of Hamlet s madness. He tells Horatio about, [Rosencrantz s and Guildenstern s] defeat/ Does
by their own insinuation grow. / Tis dangerous when the baser nature comes / Between the pass
and fell incensed points (V. ii. 62 65). Hamlet s inability to decipher right from wrong proves his
level of insanity. He blames his friends of treason, justifying their

Abortion in the United States Essay
Abortion in the United States Abortion has been a complex social issue in the United States
ever since restrictive abortion laws began to appear in the 1820s. By 1965, abortions had been
outlawed in the U.S., although they continued illegally; about one million abortions per year
were estimated to have occurred in the 1960s. (Krannich 366) Ultimately, in the 1973 Supreme
Court case of Roe v. Wade, it was ruled that women had the right to privacy and could make an
individual choice on whether or not to have an abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy.
(Yishai 213) Since Roe v. Wade, the issue of abortion has sparked a symbolic war based on the
religious, personal, and moral beliefs of two opposing groups: anti abortionists,... Show more

A WOMAN S RIGHTS VERSUS A FETUS RIGHTS One of the first moral issues addressed by
both sides of the abortion debate concerns a pregnant woman s so called natural right to make
reproductive choices. ( The Rights of Pregnant Women ) Anti abortion advocacy groups claim
that the only way to actually protect the mother s rights will be by enforcing laws that secure her
child s right to life, ( Argument 2 ) whereas pro abortion groups contend that these laws create a
dangerous precedent for wide ranging government intrusion into the lives of all women. ( The
Rights ) With two fundamentally contrasting viewpoints at odds with each other, it is apparent
that one of the core issues concurrent with abortion is a woman s rights versus the rights of her
unborn fetus. Some anti abortion activists argue that a woman has waived control over her own
body when she makes the decision to engage in sexual activity, an activity which could lead to
pregnancy. (Roy 339) Thus where sex is voluntary, the pregnant woman has at least tacitly
consented to the possibility of pregnancy. (339) If this is the case, these anti abortionists argue,
then a pregnant woman has given up the right to make a choice, as the choice making phase of the

Impact of Business Decisions with the collaboration of Knowledge Management in IT sector
Introduction:
In the current IT industry, Business decisions are the key factor in this global environment to run
companies (Martin, 2009). Most of these requires analysis that was done logically of the available
information. Based on the few theories, 47% of the business organizations are worsening due to the
inappropriate business decisions (RГЎbovГЎ Hodinka, 2011). Hence Business decisions in the IT
companies are to be made in a right path to perform well in this emerging world. Few of the
companies were still failing to take the critical business decisions which was already a raised in the
past (Hu, Almansoori, Kannan, Azarm, Wang, 2012). In order to make the effective business
decisions without any failure right in the future, there must be a process or system to share and
manage the information resources within the organization (Lin, Tsai, Wu, 2014). This process must
reduce the manpower and also improves the corporate efficiency, effectiveness, innovation and
customer services (Daniel Christopher, 2011). This issue can be rectified with the help of
Knowledge Management system.
Knowledge Management (KM) is described as a systematic process of sharing, reusing and
managing the knowledge only when it is made available and recorded (Jashapara, 2005). This helps
an organization to gain insight and understanding for own experience (Remus, 2012). Most of the

  • 4. Jason And Medea Research Paper The story of Jason and Medea is a tragedy that tells of love, hate, overcoming obstacles, and death. The story, though, begins long before Jason and Medea meet. To really understand the story, we start with Jason s childhood. Jason is the son of King Aeson of Iolcas. When Jason was a baby, his father s thrown was overtaken by Pelias, Jason s half uncle, when he killed all of Aeson s children except Jason. To protect Jason, he was sent to live with the centaur Chiron. In the meantime, Pelias had succeeded in taking over the thrown, he thanked all the gods except Hera and he consulted an oracle who told him to be weary of a man with one sandal for that man would be Pelias downfall. As an adult, Jason decided to return to Iolcas and take back his father s crown. While traveling to Iolcas, at the river Anauros, Hera, a goddess, presented Jason with a test. Disguised as an old woman, she began to pretend to flounder in the water. Jason having seen her struggle jumped in the water to save her. Aristotle though described tragedy as a way for playwrights to sway the audience into feelings of pity or even fear. This tale follows two people so caught up in their own selves that their situations leave you feeling both pity and fear for both characters. Jason, in my opinion, was living a life directed by gods. Each test he overcame was with the help of a god. He never really completed anything on his own. His battles were fought by others including Hercules and Polydeuces. It really makes you pity him. It s like his life was not his own. Medea on the other hand lived her life as she saw fit. Her headstrong attitude and special powers made her dangerous. If Jason had feared her as he should have, he would have seen the peril he was inflicting on himself. Medea s love for Jason was so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Analysis Of Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Freshly... Lindsey Stirling s Shatter Me Featuring Lzzy Hail and Freshly Ground s Pot Belly, depict two different categories of perception: perceptions of oneself and perceptions of others. These perceptions, though diverse, show a modern day view of how people are characterized and viewed externally. The latter music videoreveals two people and their perceptions of each other; in contrast, the first video displays one person s view of not only themselves, but also the world around them. Viewed side by side, both videos show how perceptions shape the tolerance and the understanding people have about themselves. While imprisoned in this globe, she feels she cannot act upon her own volition as she can only reanimate once a key is turned. As Lindsey Stirling s video continues, it becomes clear that the ballerina is tired and unhappy with this banal routine. An effective picture is painted of the warped perceptionshe has of herself and, conversely, her view of the world. This is especially highlighted when she observes light coming from outside the globe and a spark of hope appears on her face. This, in turn, motivates her to shatter the glass surrounding her, but she is unsuccessful in this attempt, despite the appearance of cracks in the glass. Before long, the music stops and she becomes lifeless. Once again, the key is turned, and the ballerina reanimates and commences with what is expected. At this point in the video, the trapped ballerina catches a glimpse of a butterfly outside the globe before it morphs back into the bat she has always seen. This brings the realization that perhaps her view and perceptions are not what they seem and this galvanizes her. She gathers up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Cultural And Political Causes Of The Darfur Genocide In Sudan INTRODUCTION Genocide is defined as the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group. The Darfur Genocide refers to the current mass slaughter and rape of men, women, and children in Western Sudan (Mitchell Hamline School of Law). Not only are these atrocities happening, but the Darfurians are being force from their land and into refugee camps, mainly in the country Chad, but also other countries like Ethiopia or Kenya. Darfur genocide causes can be found both culturally and politically. The cultural and political causes come from the same source of that being an underdeveloped country with no effective government protecting the rights of the Darfurians. Darfurians were violently pushed around, physically and mentally, with the western world not stepping in to assist. Although eventually, both Britain and the United Nations came to the same conclusion that the atrocities occurring in Darfur were genocide and one of the world s worst humanitarian crises (Thomson Reuters). Genocide occurred in Sudan in the Darfur region starting in 2003 and continues today. The long standing divide between Arab herding tribes and the African farming tribes and the political opportunism arising from the environmental calamity led to the genocide in Sudan. CAUSES a.Political Cause. Politically, Darfur genocide is rooted in the government s role of funding, Janjaweed or devils on horseback, who destroyed the Darfurians by burning villages, looting ... • 8. Dysbindin-1 Case Study Dysbindin 1 promotes Drp1 oligomerization Mitochondrial fission requires dynamin related protein 1 (Drp1). Drp1 is a large GTPase that can assemble into oligomers with enhanced GTPase activity. Drp1 is predominantly located in the cytosol and can be recruited to mitochondria to mediate mitochondrial fission by forming an oligomeric ring around the mitochondrial tubule to constrict and sever mitochondrial outer membranes 38 43. Having found that dysbindin 1 regulates mitochondrial fission, we proceeded to test whether dysbindin 1 is involved in the association of Drp1 with mitochondria. Cultured hippocampal neurons (DIV14) were transfected with the mitoDsRed plasmid along with the dysbindin 1 siRNAs, scrambled siRNAs, dysbindin 1C or 1A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mitochondrial fraction of sdy hippocampi contained more monomeric Drp1 and fewer higher order Drp1 oligomers than that of WT hippocampi, while the whole cell lysate of WT and sdy hippocampi had comparable amounts of monomeric and oligomeric Drp1 (Figure 4A C). These results indicate that dysbindin 1 is required for Drp1 oligomerization on mitochondria. Given that dysbindin 1C promotes the recruitment of Drp1 to mitochondria (Figure 3A C), we assessed Drp1 oligomers in cultured hippocampal neurons transduced with lentivirus expressing dysbindin 1C or 1A. Overexpression of dysbindin 1C, but not 1A, increased higher order Drp1 oligomers and decreased monomeric Drp1 in the mitochondrial fraction (Figure 4D F). Hence, dysbindin 1C promotes Drp1 oligomerization on mitochondria. How does dysbindin 1 regulate Drp1 oligomerization? Dysbindin 1 has been detected on mitochondrial outer membranes by electron microscopy 28. It is possible that dysbindin 1 binds to Drp1 to enhance its oligomerization. To test this possibility, we transfected HEK 293 cells with YFP Drp1 along with HA tagged dysbindin 1C or 1A, and used an anti HA antibody to immunoprecipitate dysbindin 1 at 2 days after transfection. Drp1 was detected in the immunoprecipitation product from cells transfected with dysbindin 1C, but not with 1A plasmid (Figure 4G), indicating that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. A Brief Note On California s Water Crisis The case study that I will be analyzing and responding to is a major environmental issue in many areas, especially with the state of California. California s water crisis is a major issue that has brought the attention to many people to try to fix the problem. With the Central Valley being the agricultural capital of the world, the current droughtissue that we are facing is not only historic, but also very alarming for several reasons. With the current record breaking drought in California, there are three factors that are said to be the reasons for causing the drought, which includes rising temperatures, shortage of water from the Colorado River, and depletion in groundwater (Macdonald, 2015). With rising temperatures over the years, the environmental changes that occur with this are an increase in evaporation, which is taking water from reservoirs and other sources where irrigation is coming from. With climate change with higher temperatures, this is taking away water that is needed to water the many crops that produce vegetation that is distributed all across the United States. The threatening of water supplies, especially here in the state of California is an issue that is very much real and is something that should not be ignored. The second concern that comes with the water crisisin California comes from the Colorado River water shortage. Alice is justified in not returning to change the grade because the student has to earn the grade, he could have tried to correct it before leaving class. The principal and Alice s colleagues are trying to peer pressure her into doing something that is not beneficial for the student it only benefits the school s reputation. School authorities should avoid any actions regarding evaluation for dismissal that may be viewed as harassment or intimidation by the affected teacher (Essex, 2012, p. 267). Alice is protected by tenure for this type of situation, it is restated that tenure protects teachers from well connected parents who may push their own children s interests to the detriment of others (DeMitchell Onosko, 2016, p. 4 5), which is similar to this case. Does the principal have sufficient grounds to recommend insubordination? Why or why not? The principal does not have sufficient grounds to recommend insubordination. The situation reminds me of a custom in Things Fall Apart where the woman should say publicly how many men have slept with her since her fiancГ© has first expressed the desire to marry her (TFA ; 11). The North s industrial dominance was a major factor of why the won the war as it was an underlying factor to the other aspects of how they won. Through the North s industrial prominence it allowed them to be a much more versatile and flexible army through transportation, population and financial supremacy. The Northern industry allowed them to produce war goods and to be an independent economy, which had a major play to their success in the war. The lack of emphasis on manufacturing and commercial interest, stemming from the Southern desire to preserve their traditional agricultural society, disadvantaging themselves to the North and their ability to function independently. According to Amy Cunningham in, Why Women Smile, women smiles are automatic (though it can be true for either sex) as they are controlled by society s expectations. Cunningham has even experienced this herself, from her friends and even her husband. One of her friends told her that they associate her with her smile, calling it her essence and that she should smile more (Cunningham 369). Her husband calls her smiling face unthreatening and because of that demeanor, people like her in a fuzzy way, despite that not being her goal (369). Not only with firsthand experience, Cunningham also pertains details from history, scientific evidence, and culture into her article as well. From baby reflexes to Mona Lisa s mysterious smile and female actors, she uses her information in a way that people can accumulate some sort of connection of what she s writing into their lives. Connecting one personal story or experience to another can make people empathize, especially if the general target audience is towards to women as per this article. Using this, Cunningham uses her personal connective approach and informative evidence to prove that smiles of the womanly kind are being used too much and used wrongly. In this case, I agree with Cunningham s point in her explanation about the reason why women really smile by how she utilizes her approach in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Ban on Same Sex Marriage Have you ever seen something in society that just angers you and you wish it would change? Well I have, and it is the ban on same sex marriage. Homosexuals should be able to get married. I believe this because the main opposition of this are hypocrites, there are actions that are worse than same sex marriage that are legal, and there is nothing wrong with it. The main opposition of this are hypocrites. The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support for their campaign against same sex marriage are hypocrites. The book of Leviticus states that no man shall lie with another man. The same book also states that eating any sea creature without fins or scales is unholy, so why isn t there a campaign for banning the consumption of shrimp, seaweed, clams, etc.? The book of Mark states to treat others as you would yourself. So why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual community, even though we would hate to be ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go door to door trying to convert people, as do many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are worse things than same sex marriage that are legal. He opens the book by saying what a great book it is. Being the narrator, Huck explains that Mark Twain, author, told the truth in Tom Sawyer, which was to expose the racial discrimination against African Americans. In the next few lines, Huck describes the events that have happened since the end of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom also influences Huck and gives in and returns to the Widow, but we begin to see his hatred and apathy for the society as the novel goes on. • 18. A Complex Solution Of Israel And Palestine A Complex Solution As Israel and Palestine struggle to compromise over the notion of a two state solution, the possibility of a one state solution could change long standing opinions, and could impact the futures of both sides. The highly controversial two state solution is possible because of Israel s aversion to the one state solution, the changing youth of Palestine, and the balance required to regain peace. While the two state solution is dreaded by Israels government and people, becoming a binational state with Palestine is more concerning to Israelis. Having a two state solution would mean a loss of land and control for Israel, but a one state solution would require the Israeli government to grant citizenship and voting rights to Palestinians. If this option was implemented, voting rights would give Palestinians access to the Israeli Knesset, where decisions regarding their lives are really made (Rumley and Tibon 2015, 82). With differing cultural and religious views, combining Israelis and Palestinians into one state would change the amount of power each would have over their personal lives, as well as their politics. The country would have to deal with approximately 4.5 million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza asking not for land of their own but for a voice and a role inside Israel itself (Rumley and Tibon 2015, 82). • 21. Tale Of Two Cities Symbolism Analysis You might be thinking, What is Dickens s hint of magic. Well, in the book A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, written in 1859, Dickens uses symbolism to give the readers a hint about what will come later on in the story. Charles Dickens had written this book with the setting during the French revolution. During this period in the book France was against its unequal hierarchy; mostly stated by the peasants who couldn t earn money and poor who hated the rich because they thought the rule of being born into a class was unfair. The Revolution initially started when the Bastille, a prison where Dr. Manette was first imprisoned by the Evremonde brothers because Manette could have spread the word about their wrongdoings, was taken down.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because this group lacks a right way to earn money, they try to do different jobs which could even be illegal. The author uses symbolism with the character Jerry Cruncher to foreshadow his secret occupation of being a resurrection man to earn extra money. One example of this is his rusty hands. Cruncher s rusty hands get spotted by his son, and then little Jerry says, Always rusty! His fingers are always rusty! muttered Young Jerry. Where does my father get all that iron rust from? He doesn t get no iron rust here(Dickens 43)! Jerry s fingers do not actually have rust; they have sand and grime from when he goes to dig up graves. Because he doesn t get it from his house, as young Jerry stated, it indicates that he isn t honest and that he is doing all this behind his family s back. Dickens also uses Jerry s muddy boots to foreshadow the scene where Jerry Cruncher s illegal money earning job is exposed. As Jerry Cruncher wakes up to his wife praying, which he hates, he throws his muddy boot at her, then the narrator says, After hailing the morn with this second salutation, he threw a boot at the woman as a third. • 27. The Difference Between The Temperature Of A Mixture With... The independent variable for part A is the temperature of the reactant. The variable is manipulated by using three different temperature of reactant to be mixed with hydrochloric acid. One of which is in room temperature (24В°C) , the second one heated to 40В°C and the other cooled for five minutes forming an 8В°C mixture. The dependent variable is the time taken for cross mark to disappear from sight. This will indicate the rate of reaction. The shorter the time needed, the higher the rate of reaction. From the graph drawn above, we can see that as the temperature of the reactant decreases, the time taken for the cross mark to disappear increases. Therefore, the higher the temperature of the reactants, the higher the rate of reaction. As mentioned above, chemical reaction can only occur if the reactant particles collide and achieve an equal or larger energythan the activation energy. Based on this experiment, a higher temperature means that more heat energy is supplied to the reactant particles. The heat energy is converted to kinetic energy of the reactant particles making them move faster and collide at a higher speed. This allows the reactant particles to possess more energy which can exceed the activation energy. Consequently, the frequency of collision increases and the frequency of effective collision also increases. This indicates that more collision can result in a chemical reaction. More products are formed per unit time and the rate of reaction is high. Since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Elizabeth the golden age an Oscar nominated award directed by Shekhar Kapur relates strongly to William Shakespeare s Macbeth in many ways, such as how characters from each text relate to one another, how similar themes are explored in both productions and how both revolve around the same period, the Elizabethan period. However, the overarching similarity between the two is that, in both Macbethand Elizabeth: The Golden Age, women hold power in their societies, whether it be through their own ambition or through the natural order. Women in both the film and the play can exert political power in male dominated societies, and to some extent in both theatre productions, powerful women are born into their social and political status, but despite this, women must still to some extent get rid of their feminist characteristics to fulfil this power, and thus the female characters from each text differs in the outcome they meet due to their actions. While women in both texts can indeed wield political power in patriarchal societies, the two texts differ in the outcome the female characters meet because of this power. Both Lady Macbeth and Queen Elizabeth I see their place as a vehicle for power and control in their societies. The upper levels seem to operate efficiently, but upon reading employee reviews of working at Cheesecake factory, there were several that were unhappy with their general managers. Many of them claimed that the management was unapproachable, and did not pay attention to the hard work of the employees. It was also said that the managers tend to be overbearing and lack communication skills with employees. Another overarching theme was the inconsistent breaks because they are up to the discretion of the manager. My recommendation would be to invest more in the employees and the directors that are above the general managers to make sure that the employees are satisfied. Promote company values more and participative leadership and more incentive for employees to go above and beyond and focus on team building as opposed to individual competition. In one of the reports they even said themselves that the success of the business is due to happy employees. Our future growth and financial success will be highly dependent on our ability to attract, develop and retain qualified staff members who are capable of successfully managing upscale, high volume casual dining restaurants, and consistently executing our extensive and complex ... I believe Patricia Seybold article when he say, The new economy is not just high technology and the Internet . Work is now being organized around technology and evolving with technology rather than using technology to support a static work process. The new economy is about new organizational models as well, emphasizing teamwork and empowerment. It is about flat organizational structures with decision making no longer in the hands of a single boss. Growth among some of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jamaica is known for its jerked chicken, clear waters, and more notably for Reggae, which makes Jamaican culture globally recognized. However, despite its mainstream entertainment value of today, reggae is not only music; however it is a way of life for some Jamaicans. It originated as a political form of protest against the colonial forces operative in the social context of Jamaican life. Musical ambassadors like the Abyssinians, Burning Spear, Sir Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Rita Marley, along with many others, can be credited with introducing reggaemusic to the world and giving it international recognition. Artists would essentially hit two birds with one stone. The first bird was the ability to simply perform their music. However the second bird isn t as simple as the first, it is the meaning. The second was the protest against the Babylon system and oppression. To the Rastafari, the Babylon system is any and all oppressive and unequal practices in Jamaica. Babylon began to surface throughout reggae music. Reggae lyrics are suggestive of the reggae protest songs. Bob Marley is a great example of capturing his strong negative views of Babylon. Reggae protest songs proved to be a force with power, both socially and politically. Ironically the Jamaican government would use reggae as a vehicle to promote its views (King, xiv). Reggae never lost and will never lose its association with music and the Rastafari culture. It remains a revolutionary form of explanatory art. Music never remains stagnate, it will always evolve. Roots reggae; a sub genre of Reggae, was dominant in Jamaica in the cohort of 1975 1980. Roots reggae tackles the life of a ghetto sufferer and discusses truths and rights (Barrow and Dalton, 129). Dancehall and the incorporation of hip hop rhythms was the new addition of reggae. Dancehall became widely used after the death of Bob Marley in 1981 (Barrow and Dalton, 231). The PCL M is a self reportable measure that is compatible with the symptoms of PTSD outlined in the DSM V (PTSD Check List Military Version, 2012). There are 17 items in the PCL M that have to do with distress from a trauma over the last month (PTSD Check List Military Version, 2012). The third criteria, avoidance of trauma related stimuli, is met because Rod is constantly avoiding his son as he is reminded of the boy that he shot. The fourth criteria, negative alterations in cognitions and mood, is met by feeling guilty and blaming himself for the death of the young boy as well as being detached from his family (APA, 2013). Finally, the fifth criteria is met because the client is experiencing irritability and angry outbursts towards his wife and son with little or no provocation. With this information, it is recommended to continue on with EMDR. Meletus Occurrence Of Death Of Socrates The city of Athens put the philosopher Socrates on trial on three charges; corrupting the cities youth, denying the cities gods, and making the weaker speech the stronger. His accusers, Meletus the poet being the primary and most vocal, tri him in front of judges for these charges, with the end resulting in Socratesbeing sentenced to death. Socrates claims that they use these charges because they are easy at hand for use against those who philosophize, and that they are not just. I do not believe the sentence of death of Socrates by Athens was just, but its almost as if Socrates falls on the sword. Scorates is able to defend himself very well to the charges laid out against him, although appearing a bit snide in his defense. This ability to defend himself may very well have provoked some more harm than help for Socrates by furthering feelings that his speech made him appear as a slick tongued wordsmith, but that s just a personal suspicion. ... Meletus is tricked into making the claim that the entire population has a positive influence on the youth, with the only exception being Socrates. Socrates then uses an analogy that only horse trainers who specialize in horses have a positive influence on horses, where most people are unspecialized and would have a negative influence on them. Studies on the correlation between music and the human brain have been conducted by neuroscientists at Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Oregon (Cole). Some studies show how a musician s brainfunctions differently compared with a non musicians with a sequential typing task (Tucker, Nguyen, and Stickgold), while others focus on how the brain physically grows and what areas grow more drastically (Kanako, Eiji, and Shoji). Musicians also show more precise control over their fine motor skills. Scientists from many countries have been able to consistently prove that musicians can even exhibit increased awareness of their tactile and auditory senses and differentiate between the two. There are also many job opportunities that musicians already have an advantage in, solely because their brain has already been trained to work the way it will need to work in the field. Musicians tend to benefit greatly due to their training, but even listening to music can promote a positive work or learning environment. Music has a great and lasting impact on a person s life. • 45. A Research On Pedestrian Detection The four papers about pedestrian detection we chose to summarize were great and informative, all suggested useful techniques and new ideas in deep learning for pedestrian detection. However, there were few open issues or room for improvement in some of the papers. Here are some of the ideas we suggested to resolve these issues in each paper. Joint Deep Learning for Pedestrian Detection (UDN) Even though the Unified Deep Net (UDN) method learned features by designing hidden layers for the Convolutional Neural Network such that features, deformable parts, occlusions, and classification can be jointly optimized, one of its problems is it treats pedestrian detection as a single binary classification task, which is not able to capture rich pedestrian variations. For example, the method is not able to distinguish pedestrians from hard negatives due to their visual similarities. This problem can be resolved by jointly optimizing pedestrian detection with auxiliary semantic tasks, such as including pedestrian attributes and scene attributes, which was represented in our previous report. Another problem with the UDN method is it did not explicitly model mixture of templates for each body parts, and did not depress the influence of background clutters. Thus, the method could be improved by explicitly model the complex mixture of visual appearance at multiple levels. For example, some extra layers can be added into the hierarchy of the UDN, so that at each feature level, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark has the reoccurring theme of madness demonstrated through the protagonist s downward spiral into insanity. Therefore, Shakespeare s tragic hero, Hamlet, throughout the course of his journey, undergoing traumatic events, communications with the supernatural and his inability to decipher right from wrong, ultimately prove his mental state to have been affected, making him mad. He realizes he mistakenly killed the wrong man, yet Hamlet shows no sign of regret for killing Polonius. Hamlet s lack of empathy corroborates to the idea that his madness causes him to lose his humanity. In the beginning of the play, Hamlet proves to be meticulous when it comes to attain revenge, however, Hamlet s madness escalated to the point where Polonius is carelessly killed. Hamlet having experienced parental loss and knowing the suffering it brings, in a right state of mind, no sane person would wish that suffering onto another person. Author Barbara, notes, The loss of her [Ophelia s] father her link to emotional security once she can no longer trust in her own perceptions is the final, fatal assault on her tenuous mental stability and survival instinct (Smith 98).. Hamlet is insanely consumed with revenge that he has become murderous and insensitive for not thinking about the sorrow and grief it will give Laertes and Ophelia. Hamlet s actions are altered by his madness making him unaware that he is the indirect cause of Ophelia s madness. When Hamlet s kills Polonius he becomes conscienceless, nonetheless, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern s killings show the cynical side of Hamlet s madness. Abortion in the United States Essay Abortion in the United States Abortion has been a complex social issue in the United States ever since restrictive abortion laws began to appear in the 1820s. By 1965, abortions had been outlawed in the U.S., although they continued illegally; about one million abortions per year were estimated to have occurred in the 1960s. (Krannich 366) Ultimately, in the 1973 Supreme Court case of Roe v. A WOMAN S RIGHTS VERSUS A FETUS RIGHTS One of the first moral issues addressed by both sides of the abortion debate concerns a pregnant woman s so called natural right to make reproductive choices. ( The Rights of Pregnant Women ) Anti abortion advocacy groups claim that the only way to actually protect the mother s rights will be by enforcing laws that secure her child s right to life, ( Argument 2 ) whereas pro abortion groups contend that these laws create a dangerous precedent for wide ranging government intrusion into the lives of all women. ( The Rights ) With two fundamentally contrasting viewpoints at odds with each other, it is apparent that one of the core issues concurrent with abortion is a woman s rights versus the rights of her unborn fetus. Some anti abortion activists argue that a woman has waived control over her own body when she makes the decision to engage in sexual activity, an activity which could lead to pregnancy. (Roy 339) Thus where sex is voluntary, the pregnant woman has at least tacitly consented to the possibility of pregnancy. (339) If this is the case, these anti abortionists argue, then a pregnant woman has given up the right to make a choice, as the choice making phase of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Collaboration Of Knowledge Management Paper Title Impact of Business Decisions with the collaboration of Knowledge Management in IT sector Introduction: In the current IT industry, Business decisions are the key factor in this global environment to run companies (Martin, 2009). Most of these requires analysis that was done logically of the available information. Based on the few theories, 47% of the business organizations are worsening due to the inappropriate business decisions (RГЎbovГЎ Hodinka, 2011). Hence Business decisions in the IT companies are to be made in a right path to perform well in this emerging world. Few of the companies were still failing to take the critical business decisions which was already a raised in the past (Hu, Almansoori, Kannan, Azarm, Wang, 2012). In order to make the effective business decisions without any failure right in the future, there must be a process or system to share and manage the information resources within the organization (Lin, Tsai, Wu, 2014). This process must reduce the manpower and also improves the corporate efficiency, effectiveness, innovation and customer services (Daniel Christopher, 2011). This issue can be rectified with the help of Knowledge Management system. Knowledge Management (KM) is described as a systematic process of sharing, reusing and managing the knowledge only when it is made available and recorded (Jashapara, 2005). This helps an organization to gain insight and understanding for own experience (Remus, 2012). Most of the KM activities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
