While glancing through my bookshelf, searching for a National History Day topic,
I found Life in a Jar: The Irena Sendler Project, a book my aunt found at a Polish
Pottery Festival. It described four girls from a rural Kansas school discovering the
story of an unsung Holocaust heroine. Their research led to a winning National
History Day performance. I was so inspired by the story, that I began, with my family
s encouragement, conducting research for my own project on Irena Sendler.
I was surprised by how little primary resources are available in relation to Irena
Sendler, due to the Communist regime in Poland after the Second World War. I

years there has been increasing awareness of marine mammals and the threats they

Peninsula Marine Mammal Sanctuary was implemented in 1988 as a result of
conflict between local and commercial fisherman, and the endangered Hector s
dolphin. Due to increasing concern despite the sanctuary s set up, the Hector s and

restrictions on fishing practices within the area. The formation of the sanctuary has

filmmaker, Black Girl tells the story of a young African woman named Diouana

optimistic journey soon reveals itself a grand disappointment as Diouana realises her

photography is a type of landscape photography, but is different from many other
types of landscapes. Golf courses often have well manicured grass that is cut at
different heights to give it definition. Another aspect that affects the color is the
direction in which the grass is mowed. If the blades of grass are facing away, they
appear to be a lighter shade of green. On the other hand, if they are mowed towards
you, then the grass will appear to be a darker shade of green. The difference in color
and in the grass creates a great contrast between the fairway, rough, and the greens.
Other parts of golf courses such as water and sand traps are also often featured in
photos and provide great effects to enhance them.
The way that light strikes the green or fairway of a golf hole can make a remarkable

Taking them on a clear, sunny day often is the best way to go unless a picture tries
to feature a storm rolling in to give it a gloomier effect. The green landscapes and
changes in scenery often lead to diverse photos even while taking pictures of the

The purpose of the storytelling is to increase the motivation or mental stimulation of
reader through entertainment. To do this use range of features including, Narrative
