Summary Of Charles Darwin And The Leakey
Charles Darwin Vs The Leakeys:
Charles Darwin and the Leakey s are two very similar yet different anthropologist s whose
discoveries have had an immense impact on the world of anthropology. However, which of the two
anthropologist s is better? Although the two are without a doubt, legends in anthropology history,
Charles Darwin is definitely better due to the greater impact his discovery has had on the way we
live. His theory of evolution by natural selection is the basis for many things we know today, and
without it, we would not know a lot of the things we do. It is from his theory that we were able
to learn exactly how we came to be, a question that anthropologists have been asking for several
years. Therefore, when looking at who is a better anthropologist, it is clear that the answer is
Charles Darwin because his discovery has had a larger impact on the way we live.
To begin with, Charles Darwin and The Leakey s are different because they both discovered
different things. While Darwin came up with a theory of evolution by natural selection, The Leakey
s found the earliest fossil of our genus, known as homo. Darwin came up with his theory in 1859.
The theory explained that evolution is due to a phenomenon called natural selection. According to
his theory, natural selection is a process where only the organisms best adapted to their environment
survive and transmit their genetic characters in increasing numbers to succeeding generations,
while those less adapted tend to be eliminated. He explained it as Multiply, vary, let the strongest
survive and the weakest die (cite). On the other hand, the Leakey s did not come up with a theory,
instead, they uncovered the earliest fossil of our genus, referred to as homo. Their discovery led to
the confirmation of the theory that humans are of African descent.
Even though their actual discoveries differed, Charles Darwin and the Leakeys are both similar in
the sense that the two are significant contributors to the understanding of our origins. Charles
Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection is responsible for explaining where all living
things came from, as well as how they became exquisitely adapted to their particular environments.
Whereas, the Leakeys

The Discontinuation of Nuclear Weaponry Creation
As Thomas Jefferson once stated, The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction,
is the first and only object of good government . Have political leaders thrown aside this advice in
their pursuit of nuclear arms proliferation? Since 1945, many world leaders have established forms
of defense known as nuclear weapons that have the technology and capability to completely
annihilate designated regions of the earth. Originally a plan for defense, the creation of nuclear
arms has primarily turned into a show of military strength and superiority with little regard towards
the preservation of innocent lives, as seen in Japan during World War 2. Although international
legislation has been introduced to restrict nuclear arms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Particularly, this strategy was implemented to prevent nuclear attack by these nations. Simply
speaking, deterrence nearly guaranties mutual destruction through retaliation to the nations who
attack with nuclear weapons and those who are attacked. The deterrence strategy allows for the
creation of nuclear arms in order to maintain an arsenal enough for defense of the country.
Deterrence in the United States provides safety for both the US and its allies. While this belief has
a logical reason for nuclear weapon creation, the US and other countries should work to abolish
this precedent to allow for a complete nuclear weapon free world. The idea of a nuclear weapon
free world seems impossible but there are many people who have theorized ways to bring upon
this peace. These men and women say that in order to get a reliable, nuclear free world, the
creation of a sovereign or nearly sovereign international power would be required to effectively
manage and watch over worldwide security matters. The country would need to definitely be
sovereign if the proposal included an entity to arm this international force with nuclear weapons. It
can be concluded that a nuclear free world would demand a radical alteration in global command
because of the irreconcilable nature of the independence of truly sovereign states (Post Cold war
conflict). Along with this theory, experts believe that the

On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions...
On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions The domain naming server plays a
vital role in the internet as it is needed and is involved in every internet application. DNS now
works well and it is also sometimes mentioned that any new changes added to the present DNS
may contribute to interruption to its functionality and can also contribute towards additional
complexity which is undesirable. Current networks and the future networks relay essentially on
DNS and it is important that the DNS should be a secured one. The DNS can be easily attacked
and such an attack can cause dire consequences so it specifies the importance to use a secured
version of DNS to avoid such consequences. To employ such a version involves more cost.... Show

Cost for increasing security to DNS varies depending on the kind of name server used. When the
data is static then PK DNSSEC is suitable and when the data is dynamic, better option would be
to consider SK DNSSEC. Caching resolvers computational cost is large in PK DNSSEC and non
recursive servers computational cost is high in SK DNSSEC [2]. Hybrid approach is used to
eliminate these computational costs. SK DNSEC cryptographic core contributes less to the total
cost in producing symmetric certificates and thus a better performing efficient and fast
cryptographic core can be used to improve the performance. If a new resolver is added or when
existing root certificate becomes invalid then public key cryptography is used by the SK DNS. In
these cases root server can take care of the load caused by valid requests whereas the root server
enabled with SK DNSSEC is sensitive to reject of service attack. Security and performance both
can be achieved by using hybrid approach. It can be used with PK DNSSEC for the top level
domain of DNS tree and for SK DNSSEC for lower level domain of DNS tree. Size of the response
packets of DNS are increased by producing higher network traffic and latency in PK DNSSEC. SK
DNSSEC is considered to be a possible alternative for PK DNSSEC for few of the important
reasons like key management is made easy with SK DNSSEC, smaller response packets which
require small memory for caching. [1]

Robert Frost s The Bearer Of Evil Things
Sabrina Carpenter says that it s like breathing in the salty air on a private island just for me.
Huey Lewis and the News says that it will Make one man weep, make another man sing. Both
songs about how love makes you feel and how powerful love actually is. Singers, writers, and
poets have talked about lovesince anyone can remember. Everyone feels love and were the power
of love has affected everyone. In The Bearer of Evil Things Robert Frost uses imagery, the main
character s choices and the acceptance of the main character to show that love leads people astray
but in the end always saves them.
Frost starts out by setting up a man, the bearer of evil things, on a journey to do the obvious: bear
evil things. But Frost says that he remembers or realizes that evil tidings are dangerous. The man
comes to a parting and has to make a choice. Frost writes, Where one road led to the throne/And

Frost uses this to show that love will make people not think twice. Frost writes, Took him home
to her bower,/ Or he might be running yet/ She taught him her tribe s religion (lines 16 18). What
Frost is saying here is that the women did not even think about taking him in because she fell in
love with him. The man doesn t think twice about continuing running whether because of
exhaustion or love for the girl. Then the man decides to adopt the race and Frost says , They had
both of them had their reasons/For stopping where they had stopped. (lines 39 40) The reason they
stopped was because of love. The man stopped because he fell in love with the tribe and the woman.
In The Bearer of Evil Things Robert Frost uses imagery, the main character s choices, and the
acceptance of the main character to show that love leads people astray but in the end is a saving
power. Everyone encounters love every day whether we realize it or not, the love still impacts how

Critical Analysis on Edwidge Danticat s A Wall of Fire Rising
A Wall of Fire Rising , short story written by Edwidge Danticat, presents one man s desire for the
freedom and also, the gap between reality and fantasy which is created by the desire. Two
different perspectives of evaluating the life bring the conflict between the Guy and Lili who are
parents to the little guy. Throughout the story, the Guy implies that he wants to do something
that people will remind of him, but Lili who is opposing to the Guy, tries to settle the Guy down
and keep up with the normal life that they are belong to. The Guy is aggressive, adventurous and
reckless while Lili is realistic and responsible. The wall of fire is the metaphorical expression of the
boundary where divides two different types of people. One... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Especially when he hears latest part, There is so much sadness in the faces of my people. I have
called on their gods, now I call on our gods. I call on our young. I call on our old. I call on our
mighty and the weak. I call on everyone and anyone so that we shall all let out one piercing cry
that we may either live freely or we should die. (Danticat 150) The guy wiped his tear after he
hears it and heading outside. When the little guy asks his mother what is wrong with his father,
Lili answers His heart hurts, (155) Because of the guy feels pity on himself, he considers his
own life as if it is meant for nothing. He does not want to continue with his boring life but, he
desires some excitement or magnificent changes to get involved in his life. To put this simply,
he wants to live freely, the guy has too much burdens on his shoulders, such as he is the one who
need to sacrifice his life to maintain the ordinary life of the family. It was now easier for him to
imagine their son s lips around those breasts than to imagine his anywhere near them. (90) This
phrase implies that the Guy does not feel Lili as a woman but more like little guy s mother. It also
foreshadows that there is not much things that would hold the Guy to stay in the ordinary life.
While the little guy s line from the play ignites the Guy s decision, the hot air balloon is the method
of practicing his dream. The Guy keeps telling his wife that he knows how the balloon flies and it
is not a miracle

The Articles Of The Draft Of Capitulation
The Articles of Capitulation signed 1760 marked the concluding chapter of France s hegemony in
North America. By 1764 the French possession of Ile Royale and Ile St.Jean along with their prize
colony of Quebec were handed over to Great Britain. Therefore, why are these articles important in
contemporary society and does it indicate British hegemony in Canada? The Articles of Capitulation
of Montreal in 1760 was a diplomatic tool used by the British military command to supplant the
military forces in New France, by confirming to the needs and rights of regular Francophones
within Quebecwhile placing strict editions that legitimized their hegemony in North America.

With the increased population, the colony stabilized its economic situation, thereby investing in the
welfare of the colony.
However as the Articles of Capitulation indicated the period of stability for New France had
political and economic problems. With a higher and stable population, French goods and access to
tradable goods; furs, pelts and natural resources produced an economic rivalry between the English.
As the economic rivalry increased, it began to cause friction in their political relations. Gradually,
Franco Anglo relations began to encompass territorial supremacy of the North American region.
Interestingly, the geopolitical situation during the early 18th century displayed English territory
along the Atlantic seaboard and in Rupert s Land, while France s territory concentrated in the centre
of North America.
Hostilities between France and Great Britain broke down in 1702 due to the Spanish succession.
In North America, this conflict had been referred to as Queen Anne s War and resulted in the
accelerated downfall of the New France. When the war ended in 1713 with the signing of the
Treaty of Utrecht France was forced to ceded parts of its colony; Acadia, Newfoundland, Hudson
Bay and the country of the Iroquois. The Treaty of Utrecht is important because it signified the
growing emergence of English hegemony over North America, but more importantly it exhibited
English ambition to seize all French possession, indicating a policy of Britain s interest to

Socialization Process In Society
The socialization process can be described as the process one undergoes to learn the acceptable
way to behave in society. From a young age, people are taught how to behave, what to think, and
how to look. These variables create rules or norms in society today. Examples of a social norm
would be gender rules today. Zimbardo used the example of a man being interested in ballet
being seen as unusual and being criticized because of his interests (Zimbardo 144). This is a
perfect example of socialization because in society we are groomed to believe that ballet is
girly or feminine. While there is nothing about dance itself that is feminine, humanity has
created an association with ballet and females. This association is a behavior that is learned
during the socialization process. Another example of the socialization process common in today
s society would be the gender rule that women are to be submissive in the relationship.
Traditionally women stay home, take care of the kids, and cook meals. While none of these acts
in them self are submissive an association with these acts and submission from a wife to a
husband has formed. This was a perfect example of the socialization process for young girls
growing up with the goal to have a family, a husband, and kids, only to perform wifely duties as the
perfect life. This socialization though has now been broken with more women going into the
workforce and some becoming the breadwinner of the family. Fathers staying home

Comparing Voice In Poetry And Psalms 6
Voice is a main force that drives along a piece of literature, it adapts to new paths and takes on new
meanings based on the speaker, addressee, context, and many other factors. In If You Want to Sing
from Islamic Mystical Poetry and Psalms 6, through similar basic structures, both writings deploy
voice in order to describe suffering and affirmation of each respective speaker s position. However,
through this fundamental parallel, the differences in the particularities of the voices employed are
further highlighted. The similarity in the general voice and structure allow for higher scrutiny of
the individual texts, accentuating the particular differences in emotionality and clarity that the
respective voices carry. Though seemingly different on first look, the two writings follow a similar
pattern and basic plot. In both, there is an encouragement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In terms of voice, generally, both deploy a very declarative voice, announcing their struggles and
sufferings. Towards the end, however, both move to a more affirmative voice that sustain their
stable positions in triumphing against their enemies. Through this similar scheme and movement
though different voices, a greater window is created to inspect more meticulously at the detailed
differences between the two works in terms of voice. Although they both do deploy a declarative
voice in the beginning, there are nuances that give the writings a different meaning and light.
Specifically, Psalms 6 brings more emotionality to the way suffering is described. For example,
Psalms 6 spends verse two, three, six, and seven just describing in detail how much anguish is felt.
In verse six, crying is illustrated through two different ways, flooding the bed and drenching the
couch, which constructs a tangible picture in the readers minds. However, this may be due to the
fact that there are simply more details and quantity of the text for the suffering as compared

He is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22: 6 Introduction: The current news that we know especially in Japan and Libya have
caused great alarm to most of us. A lot of questions arise regarding the kind of the world our
earth is heading up to. Reading II Timothy 3:1 10 and Matthew 24 makes us aware that this
world, apart from God, is heading towards turmoil! How then can we give hope and assure
ourselves that our children will have a brighter future? My purpose in bringing this message is to

How should we train our children?
I. THE SYSTEM THAT WE SHOULD EMPLOY IN TRAINING OUR CHILDREN. There must
be a dedication. The word chanak translated train occurs 5 times in the Old Testament. It is found
twice in Deut. 20:5; I Kings 8:63 where Solomon dedicated, chanak the temple. In II Chronicles 7:5
Solomon dedicated the temple and here in Proverbs 22:6. It is similar to our ground breaking
ceremony. There must be excitement and enthusiasm in doing the training of our children.
Application:
There must be discernment of the child s habits, interests, moods, inclinations and attitudes. We
must consider the child s individuality and inclinations when we give our instructions to
inexperienced children. These directives should be in keeping with the degree of our child s
moods. It is necessary to know and understand our child s moods. There must be discipline,
personal touch and connection. Don t depend upon your yayas, parents. Brothers and even public
and private teachers to train your children. Don t delegate your duty to other people the privilege of
training your children
Personal Story:
Application: have a firm exhortation, faithful example and consistent emphasis in your life. II.
THE SUBJECTS THAT WE SHOULD EMPHASIZE IN THE TRAINING OF OUR CHILDREN
The first thing to train our children is the subject of Reverence to God. Proverbs 1:7 says, The fear

Realism In Eliza Haywood
Abstract: Eliza Haywood, writing in the early eighteenth century English literary and cultural space
provided a new concept of womanhood and femininity through her amatory works. The amatory
novella, a novelistic subgenre, popularized by the women writers of the late seventeenth and early
eighteenth century England, foregrounded excessive emotion and passion in contrast to the
contemporary male writings which dealt with realism in both the theme and technique of
representation. Eliza Haywood not only provided a counter tradition to the mainstream male
tradition of writing realistic, matter of fact fictions through her sensational, erotic prose fictions but
raised a strong antipatriarchal voice through the female protagonists of her novellas. As a writer she
exploited the trauma and suffering that the female... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Greatly influenced by the French nouvellas and romances of the seventeenth century, Haywood s
amatory novellas foregrounded sentimentalism, eroticism, fantasy in contrast to the moral, realistic
and rational mode of the male tradition. Backscheider and Richetti observed that if social
observation and psychological depth are considered the markers of modern novel it was introduced
in the prose fictions, long before Richardson and Fielding legitimized it, through the writings of
the women amatory novelists such as Aphra Behn, Manley, Haywood, Aubin (Backscheider x).
Dr. Johnson s definition of novel as a small tale generally of love is best suited to the amatory
fictions which catered the public demand for fictions which would be shorter, less stylized,
immediately appealing to a wider range of taste, more practical and affordable (Backscheider xi).
Thus, the amatory novellas introduced the formula of modern mass market fiction in eighteenth
century

Films Dealing With The Vietnam War
Film, as an art form and furthermore, as a cultural product, is a proficient and effective producer of
cultural memory in society. It is a primarily a visual medium, and it is this facet that predicates its
innate ability to represent, alter and, therefore arguably subvert memory. Moreover, as Sturken
states ...cinematic representations of the past have the capacity to entangle with personal and
cultural memory. 1 In the case of films dealing with the Vietnam War, this capacity proves central
to the creation of cultural memory regarding the event. The films diegesis, its represented reality,

In this complex process certain events and information will invariably be ignored (i.e. forgotten)
emphasising that the creation of memory relies both on constructive recollection and active
forgetting. It is these intricate and reciprocal relationships between accepted historical discourses,
cultural memory and cultural products that have informed my choice of films. Platoon (1986) and
Born on the Fourth of July (1989) possess many ostensible similarities as well as distinct
differences. Furthermore, and significantly, both films are based somewhat on personal memories,
therefore providing valuable if divergent insights into the processes behind the creation of cultural
memory, the mediation of historical discourses and the re shaping of personal experience. The
director and writer of both films is Oliver Stone (though he co wrote the screenplay to Born on the
Fourth of July in collaboration with Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic), an individual whose life has
been profoundly affected by the Vietnam War. Not dissimilar to the character of Chris Taylor,
Stone dropped out of Yale University and voluntarily enrolled for service. Stone s Vietnam films
benefit from his personal experience and memories of the event, providing a dimension of gravitas,
an authenticity that is visceral and affecting. These distinctive facets of his work contribute to the
creation of cultural memory, as his films effectively mediate personal and collective memory into
the complex forum

American Christianity Democratized
How was American Christianity democratized during this period, and how else was the United
States democratized? The Second Great Awakening commenced with a Protestant revival
movement during the early beginning around 1790, the movement gained momentum through
1820s. The later emergence of the Transcendentalists movement emerged, rooted by their religious
philosophy extended from more than a protestant movement but a social and political one, linked
far back in American history .Religious movements anticipated the coming of Christ and the need to

primary driver of a chain of events that would lead to Christian democratization ,and the increasing
growth of Methodist , Baptist and later transcendentalist movement between Americans . The
separation of church and politics stirred many issues of authority, organization and leadership,
Americans had sentimental argued that their spiritual beliefs should not be morally tied into their
political views using pamphlets, tracts, booklets, journals and newspapers .The early
democratization of christianity changed three aspects of religion; First, it denied the class structure

Because the interest rate is both the reward households receive for saving and the price businesses

Focus on Palestinian Israeli conflicts in recent history, where Israel has won time after time and the
Palestinian people have been shattered and dispersed. (p.xiii)
3 major patterns in US policy in the middle east have emerged: 1) the US can do as it likes
because the Arab gulf states depend on the US in order to not be overthrown 2) ignoring other Arab
gulf states wishes and opinions 3) ignoring the fate of the Palestinian people.
Intent of the book is to show that USA has acted as a dishonest broker between Israel and the US,
and has instead acted as israel s lawyer (p.xxxvi)
Palestinian human rights, peace processes, and their right to self determination was not brought
back up again until George hw bush took office in the 90s.
Brokers of deceit is concise and easily accessible examination of how over more than thirty
decades the U.S. has been gaming the peace process for it s own benefit rather than to achieving a
lasting and just peace between the Israeli and Palestinian people.
Khalidi participated in peace negotiations in the 1990 s as an advisor so he cites original,

How Does The Energy Output Of Ethanol And Determine The...
Background Information
Calorimeters are devices used to indirectly calculate the energy output of burning fuels by
measuring the changes of heat in a system which can then be converted to energy by known
mathematical relationships. This investigation seeks to calculate the energy output of Ethanol and
determine the optimal calorimeter apparatus for its combustion considering different types of
insulation and the best substance in the Calorimeter to absorb the heat of the reaction.
Alcohols are an organic compound whose molecule contains one or more of the hydroxyl
functional group ( OH) that is bonded to a carbon atom of an alkyl (Nave, 2014). When alcohol is
burnt, a combustion reaction occurs with the oxygen in the air, releasing energy in the form of heat.
The specific ethanol reaction is as follows:
(О”H = 1300 kJ/mol)
According to The First Law of Thermodynamics, the energy in a system is constant; it can be
transformed from one form to another, but cannot be created or destroyed (Purdue, 2004). Energy
in chemical reactions is released as heat, which gets transferred from a substance of higher energy,
to that of a lower energy, most commonly by conduction. Conduction occurs best with metals
because their molecules are close and they can absorb and release energy quickly, whilst mediums
like air are considered insulators because their particles are distanced (Nave, 2014).
The specific heat capacity of the substance provides a means of relating the energy

How dangerous is second hand smoke? The Indiana Prevention Resource Center also tells us that it
contains more than 300 known poisons, including such deadly substances as nicotine, arsenic,
cyanide, carbon monoxide, phenol, and formaldehyde (internet). According to a study conducted
by the Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a
thorough analysis of the many respiratory studies on the health effects of second hand smoke
concluded that it caused lung cancer among non smokers (internet). According to Bill Alder and
Steve Allen, the Environmental Protection Agency and Naval Research Laboratory estimated that
between five hundred and five thousand non smokers die each year of lung cancer alone from
exposure to cigarette smoke (18). I, for one, am outraged by this! How can studies so obviously
prove the dangers of second hand smoke, yet action on campus against it is confined only to
buildings and not applicable to the entire campus? The risks that are inflicted upon non smokers by
second hand smoke are far too great to allow this jeopardous activity to continue.

†Examine the Reasons Why Some Sociologists Choose Not to...
A questionnaire is a list of a research or survey questions asked to respondents, and designed to
extract quantitative date. Questionnaires are easily distributed to the community and can be
completed and collected on the spot or be emailed or posted back to the researcher. Self
completed questionnaires are the most common survey as they are cheap and can be passed to a
lot of people. Some sociologists tend not to use questionnaires because of their low response rate
and lack of validity. Also, some people may give false information so some researchers like to
stick to interviews and experiments for increased accuracy. I will explore why sociologists shy
away from using questionnaires.

A valid method is one that give a true picture of the peoples meaning and experiences, yet
interpretivists argue that questionnaires are more likely to impose the researchers own meanings
than to reveal those of the respondent. When a researcher chooses a question he automatically has
decided that that is an important question and what is not. If researchers use close ended questions,
respondents cant include all the data they have to offer and have to fit their views into the question
asked, if they use open ended questions the respondents have a chance to put all their meanings
down, this could be more time consuming for collecting the date after. Shipman says when the
researchers categories are not the respondents categories pruning and bending is inevitable. He
determines questionnaires as straitjackets and undermines the validity of the data. Another way of
getting a true picture of the respondent is through triangulation the use of 3 or more methods to
achieve the same or similar results, it can be achieved through quantitative and qualitative data
which makes it more reliable, questionnaires can be used adequately. In conclusion, it is clear that
there are a lot of reasons as to why some sociologists choose not to use questionnaires when

William Shakespeare Concreation
To keep a fire from burning out, you must add more wood to feed the flames. To keep a family
tree from dying, you must procreate to keep your family name alive. The first seventeen sonnets
of William Shakespeare are known as the procreation sonnets, for they discuss the necessity for a
man to have offspring. The very first sonnet explains that if he decided not to reproduce, then he
is considered selfish for not wanting to share his beauty with the world, and foolish for willingly
giving up immortality. If one were to procreate and give their beauty to the world they will be
gifted immortality. If one decides not to, then the powerful gift of eternal life will be gone through

The Human Papillomavirus Is Transmitted Through Sexual...
Abstract
The Human Papillomavirus is transmitted through sexual contact. Specifically in males, it can lead
to cancers of the anus, penis, and pharynx. The estimated probability that a sexually active person
will get a new genital HPV infection is between 29% and 39% (Hawke). The Human
Papillomavirus infects both males and females; however, the protective benefit in heterosexual
males has not yet been explored. Therefore, this study monitored the efficacy of the HPV vaccine in
heterosexual males to see how it affected both the short term and long term health of their female
partners. This study demonstrated that heterosexual males who received the vaccination and their
unvaccinated partners showed higher anti HPV antibody titer levels, decreased HPV positivity
results via PCR tests, and decreased cancer development rates than the unvaccinated men and
their unvaccinated partners. For the Pap smears, those with both groups of men were tested and it
was found that women with unvaccinated men were more likely to have abnormal Pap smears
than those who were with vaccinated men. The initial goal of developing the HPV vaccination in
2006 was to protect women against cervical cancer (Edgar). As the years progressed, males were
encouraged to receive the vaccination, and the results of our study reveal the dual role of
vaccinating men in protecting against certain types of anal and penile cancer, as well as serving as
increased protection to their partners.

What is an American? An American is someone who is defined by more than a social security
number and a paper of citizenship. Being an American is also more than just being born in the
United States. It is much more complex than that. An American is someone who is hard
working, relentless, and patriotic for their country. Americans are not scared to get their hands

Authority And Judgement Of Police Discretion

Power of Law
Discretion has the meaning of acting on one s own authority and judgement. In law, discretion
as to legal rulings, such as whether evidence is excluded at a trial, may be exercised by a judge.
Some view discretion negatively, while some view it positively. Discretion is at all levels of law
enforcement. Discretion is a ubiquitous and legitimate aspect of modern policing, though it s scope
and limits are poorly understood. Around late 1950 S during the end of professional era was the
time when police discretion started playing a big roll and by the American Bar Foundation it was
classified as organization that would make criminal justice system better by conducting research,
studies, and investigations. Along with it came the negative and the positive side of police
discretion. I personally believe the best way of discretion is following good morals and making
good choices.
Discretion is witnessed everywhere, especially in the law enforcement career by the police
officers. The general public has a specific expectation that the police officers have to enforce the
law system and follow orders for which if something bad happens outside the norm, it is expected
to arrest or detain an

Premarital Cohabitation And Premarital Marriage

that the relationship is advancing to the next stage which is moving in together. This, my friends, is
an ideal scenario of moving into an apartment with your significant other before marriage, which is

who participate in premarital cohabitation, affect the divorce rate, involved in premarital sex and
is allowing the couple to see if they have a good quality and stable relationship, and if they are

to their first marriage. Since the 90 s premarital cohabitation with one s spouse is not related to

Toyota Of The Chevrolet Bolt Introduced At The Detroit...
Four years is a long time to go from concept car to production vehicle.
Typically, a car manufacturer teases a concept it intends to build and approves it for production
within the year. For example, in the case of the Chevrolet Bolt introduced at the Detroit auto show
(NAIAS) last January, it was green lighted for production before the start of the Chicago Auto Show
the following month.
Toyota has teased us with a handful of concept vehicles down through the years, including the
fetching FT 1, a delicious sports car some hope becomes the all new Toyota Supra. Notably, on the
Lexus side of the house we ve seen the LF LC, a product dangled before us at the 2012 NAIAS.
That concept is now a production reality and comes to us in the form of the Lexus LC 500, a
provocative high end sports car introduced at the 2016 NAIAS.

The Lexus LC 500 was approved by Akio Toyoda, Chief Branding Officer and Master Driver for

Computer Network Topology Essay
NETWORK TOPOLOGIES
Computer network topology is an extension of basic topology. In this discipline we examine the
configuration of computer system elements and their interconnections of network lattice. Physical
network topology deals with the hardware components associated with the computer system
including workstations, servers, remote terminals and the cabling associated with them. Logical
network topology deals with representation of data flow between nodes which can be dynamically
reconfigured once the selected network equipment such as router is available.

When the traffic intensity between the nodes is large then this topology is preferable. In this
topology, a certain proportion of nodes have multiple paths to another destination node. Each of
the traditional network topologies (Bus, Ring, Star and tree network topologies) had only single
path from message source to message destination. Since Mesh Network topology provides
multiple paths from source to destination so that greatly reduces the probability of single point
network failure. The advantage of mesh network over other networks is that source node
determines the best suitable route from source to destination based on factors such as
connectivity, speed and pending node activities. Mesh topology is not cost effective, this proves
to be a major disadvantage for setting up the network. Another disadvantage of this type of
network is the need of a routing algorithm by each node for path computation. When each node in
the network is directly connected to every other node then it is called a full mesh. This type of
network topology works best with small number of nodes in the network. When some nodes in the
network are indirectly connected to other nodes in the network then it is called partial mesh. Figure
1 provides an example of both partial and full mesh

Allegory And Symbolism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
It is hard to read beyond the third paragraph of Young Goodman Brown without finding allegory
and symbolism. The opening seems realistic Goodman Brown, a young Puritan, leaves his home
in colonial Salem to take an overnight trip but his wife s name, Faith, immediately suggests a
symbolic reading. Before long, Brown s walk into the dream like forest seems like an allegorical
trip into evil. The idea that Hawthorne shows by this trip is that people are attracted to sin through
temptation which leads them towards a path of isolation and distrust. He develops this thought in

The pink ribbons represent innocence, Faith wears those pink ribbons the pink ribbons of her cap
(1), so she is thought to be innocent and childlike but as it turns out she is a secret sinner attracted
to sin and temptation like everyone.
The imagery in Young Goodman Brownis very dark and gothic like. Throughout the story the
narrator tries to capture evil within the imagery. The first appearance of a dark imagery is when
Goodman Brown describes the road he takes towards the forest, he describes it as a dreary road
(8) he also describes all the trees of the forest to appear gloomy like. Another image the author
paints is when Goodman Brown is walking down the road he then says that there might be a
devilish indian (9) behind the trees. This image captures the evil and darkness that is going on in
the forest and we can see this clearly through the imagery. The imagery also ties back to the
thematic statement.
Goodman Brown like every character in the story becomes tempted to sin. He admits that he is a
horrible person what wretch am I (7) for leaving Faith to follow his temptation. But he is attracted
and tempted to sin like every human being. His temptation leads him to become a stern, sad...

The Health Care System Of Ontario
Introduction
The health care system in Ontario has been subjected to a lot of criticism and investigation since its
introduction midway through the twentieth century. In the past decade, there has been a significant
increase in the demand of healthcare, due to increase in the population from immigration and also,
an increase in the chronic diseases among the residents of Ontario, which in turn has affected the
overall quality of the provision of healthcare. Due to its availability to wide range of people it has
become evident that the health care system has been restricted by incorporation of various strict
time consuming policies, which may cause the current healthcare system to be unsustainable in the
future. Therefore, healthcare industry has added resources to accommodate increase in demands
and the needs of the Ontarians, but this does not eliminate the problem that Ontario lacks a system
wide and sustained approach to improve quality of primary healthcare, which will be further
discussed in the paper.
Historical Background
According to the Constitutional Act of 1867, it was the responsibility of the province to publically
establish and maintain hospitals, asylums, charities and charitable institutions. Federal government
took control of the public health care from 1867 1919 after which, healthcare in Canada became a
completely private sector. People who needed health care were expected to pay for the services
themselves. The supply of medical services was minimal

How Does Social Media Affect Women
How and Why Does Media Affect Young Women?
In recent years, social media has flown to increasing popularity. People spend hours scrolling their
Instagram feed touching up their pictures to put forth their best looks, updating their Snapchat
stories and sending messages with funny faces to friends, trying to stay connected to the world.
Social media stars have found a new array of followers and idolizers. All over the world, people
inspire to be like that one person with 3,000 followers or 8 million comparing their dazzling
looks to their own dull appearance. Although media can help connect the world, it also forces
people to compare themselves to others; Social media is a toxic playing field for young women
because these comparisons bring low self esteem and a rise in mental illness.
Authors Jakobsons, Simmons, and Kellas all agree on one basic idea, social media can affect
teen s mental health. Jakobsons and Kellas both argue that this age of visual platforms makes
teens feel inadequate, compared to others. Comparisons can bring pressure to look perfect,
resulting in a higher risk of anxiety and depression. Though Simmon s dispute revolves more
towards the negative body image teens can develop when looking at their feed, she also agrees on
the ties it has with mental illness. However, unlike Jakobsons and Kellas, Simmons feels that teens
should not be so easily bought in with the images they see on their screens, but should look with the
same critical eye as seen through with movies and magazines. On the other hand, Kellas brings in
the fact that social media, has made teens feel below average in beauty, intelligence and worth.
Authors Jakobsons and Simmons both acknowledge that in order to help with the negative effects
of social media parents should talk to their children about feeling confident and letting them know
they are perfect the way they are. Rachel Simmons, author of Odd Girl Out and a leader
development specialist at Smiths College, argues in her article How Social Media Is a Toxic
Mirror that social media has become a way for teens to critique themselves and can create poor
eating habits, leading to pro anorexia due to the increase of wellness industries. It has long been
understood

The Great Depression and the Life of Italian-Immigrant...
The Great Depression and the Life of Italian Immigrant Workers
Commentary: In order to develop ideas for this paper, I first analyzed the time of the Depression
and what Italian Immigrants lives were like typically living in America. Using this background
knowledge, I was able to analyze the lifestyles of the working class in each of the stories. Even
though the background story of each of the family s lives differed, they all had a common basis in
that they were Italian Immigrant families working a hard lifestyle in order to support the family
during economic hardship. I revised this paper by looking to see if my ideas were clearly
expressed. I ran into an obstacle of trying to figure out which ideas to express, since the novels ...

Cooking and baking is a central quality of this family s lifestyle. The narrative goes into great
detail and this has to do with a cultural placement. For Giovanni s family, cooking and eating is a
set of cultural rituals and the making of an experience. It is a part of a performance art, not just a
consumption product. Another central quality of this family s lifestyle is essentially work. Puma
writes: With Johnny s help, father and son would finish up by eleven instead of after midnight for
the father alone. The next morning Johnny would still be sleepy, and his mother would tickle his
toes until he climbed out of bed for breakfast with his sister and brother. By then his father would
already be on the subway headed again for the pastry shop Downtown (From the Margins 86).
This shows that Giovanni s life centers around work. Giovanni spends most of his time working
about six days a week. He is doing this in order to support his family. In another scene when
Johnny is making dough, he sees bugs in the flour, and Giovanni also accidentally knocks
cigarette ashes into the flour. Giovanni shrugs it off as if it is no big deal. Giovanni is exhausted
and he is simply being realistic and just wants to get work done. Puma shows Giovanni s hard
lifestyle when he writes: The physical work, the heat from the ovens...the long hours for little pay in
those times when most other Sicilians too didn t earn enough to buy many cakes when almost

Dolores Liquor Observation
On 01/07/2017 at approximately 2258 hours, while patrolling the town of Dolores, I observed two
males at the front door of the Dolores Liquor Store located at 202 South 3rd Street, Town of
Dolores, County of Montezuma, State of Colorado.
Dolores Liquor store is located on the corner of Railroad Avenue and 3rd Street. The front door
faces east and is the only customer access. There are two doors at the front that are recessed into
the building and covered. The north door accesses the liquor store and the south door access the
office but is not utilized.
The Dolores Liquor Store was closed for business and I did not observe any vehicles in the parking

Isabelle Boyce explained that on today s date, they realized that a security camera located at the
front of the store was damaged and after reviewing their surveillance, determined that the camera
was in working order until 01/07/2017 at 2250 hours.
I responded to the Dolores Liquor store at approximately ** hours and spoke with Isabelle
Boyce. She stated that they contacted the security company for assistance in downloading the
captured surveillance footage. I viewed the surveillance and observed three individuals walk in
the area and to the Dolores Liquor Store at approximately 2238 hours. While walking southeast
toward the building, one of the males looks toward the camera. He appears to be wearing khaki
colored jeans and a hooded jacket. The jacket appears to have blue sleeves, a large blue pocket
located directly in front of the jacket and extends for both hands and the chest portion of the
jacket appears to be patterned with words across the chest. He also appears to be wearing yellow
in color skater style shoes. At approximately 2255 hours, the male appears to now have a white
covering over his jacket and face and while utilizing a large wood object resembling a wooden
dowel, he approaches the camera and smashes the camera. I took digital photographs of the male
but the images are distorted and not clear. Isabelle Boyce stated

Lockheed Martin Case Summary
According to Lockheed Martin s website and many of the analysts currently covering the company,
the current 2015 growth rate is at 2.23, with an expected growth rate for the next five years at
7.25% for the aerospace/defense industry. With this percentage it is important to note that Lockheed
is the largest company in the industry, plus with a changing global military environment, decreasing
military spending, and rising pension costs. This statistics show that their aviation program is under
close scrutiny, and possibly on the verge of a forced restructure. Another weakness that they battle
is the costs related to pension plans. To ascertain and retain employees of certain caliber Lockheed

Analysis of Friedrich NietzscheВґs Book 5 of The Gay...
Friedrich Nietzsche s own skepticism symbolized the secular changes in contemporary Western
civilization, in which he details mankind s break away from faith into a new rule of chaos. In
Book 5 of The Gay Science, Nietzsche establishes that God is dead , meaning that modern Europe
has abandoned religion in favor of rationality and science (Nietzsche 279). From this death, the
birth of a new infinite blossoms in which the world is open to an unlimited amount of
interpretations that do not rely on the solid foundations of faith in religion or science. However, in
contrast to the other philosophers of his age such as Immanuel Kantand Georg Wilhelm Friedrich
Hegel, Nietzsche deviates from the omniscient determinism of historytowards a... Show more

Despite such claims, Nietzsche criticizes this mistaken idea that the knowledge of the universe can
be comprehended by any method; he argues that not even the most scrupulously conscientious
analysis and self examination of the intellect cannot successfully interpret the progressive history
of the world as the human intellect cannot avoid seeing itself in [only] its perspectives (Nietzsche
336). To Nietzsche, Kant and Hegel s attempts to find truth in history is faulty because faith is
just now found in science and reasoning rather than religion. What Kant and Hegel fail to realize
is that the human race s separation from this faith gave rise to our new infinite , in which the
world has become infinite for [humanity] all over again, inasmuch as we cannot reject the
possibility that it may include infinite interpretations (Nietzsche 336). Thus the new infinite is self
consciously made by the individual members of humanity itself, as we can now independently
interpret the world ourselves as we see fit. Nietzsche declares that even if some of these
interpretations may include too much devilry, stupidity and foolishness , it does not matter
because it does not rely on faith (Nietzsche 336). The new infinite that arises is ours, in which the
abundance of perspectives is too overwhelming for any scholar to give meaning to such chaos.
There is no logical reason how such disorder should

featherweight 2 months after the olympics. Floyd s first match was against Roberto Apodaca,
weighing in at 130 pounds. Just 2 rounds into the fight, Floyd had won his debut by a knockout.
Floyd had continued to beat on his opponents, having won thirteen out of his first seventeen fights
by either knockout out or technical knockout. After his 17th fight came his title fight against
Genaro Hernandez. This was a title fight for the super featherweight title, his first title fight as a
pro. Floyd absolutely dominated the fight, landing 221 of 412 punches (54%), and Hernandez
only landing 103 of 314 punches (33%). The fight ended in the 8th round by RTD (Referee
Technical Decision), meaning that Hernandez was so longer capable to fight the rest of the match.
That was Floyd s first title win of many. Floyd had boxed another 9 matches at the super
featherweight class, and defended his title in every fight, winning only 3 by Unanimous decision, 3
by Referee technical knockout, 2 by technical knockout, and 1 fight won by knockout. After his 9th
title fight in the super featherweight class, Floyd had moved up to the lightweight class. Floyd,
unsurprisingly, had a great amount of success at the lightweight class. He did not have as many big
fights, but conquered the title very shortly after moving up.The next weight that floyd had gone

The Importance Of Curfew Laws In Baltimore
Law enforcers and city officials in Baltimore are cracking down on the curfew for children in
their city. Recent events such as a 3 year old being killed by a stray bullet make law enforcers
believe that having a curfew can help to protect innocent children from misfortunate events. The
new curfew states that children younger than 14 must be inside by nine o clock, while 14 16 year
olds have to be home by ten o clock on school nights. On weekends and summer nights 14 16 year
olds can be out until eleven o clock.
Some parents of teenagers are glad that a new curfew is being put in place; however, not every
person feels the same way. For example, the American Civil Liberties Union believes that the
curfew might cause an increase in juvenile criminals due to rebellions ... Show more content on

The teenager in me says, No. The considerate human in me who wants to prevent drugs and
alcohol in children says, Yes. When I really consider this, and place myself in a teenager s shoes
in Baltimore, I am still undecided. Based on my personal experience, which is minimal, I don t
believe a curfew is going to help many of the children or parents in Baltimore. Therefore, I don t
believe this policy will be worthwhile. The curfew might help one or two kids seek proper help;
however I find it hard to imagine that one policy setting a curfew can fix adolescent behavior. If
the people in Baltimore are willing to put in the time and money of following through with this
policy to help just a handful of children, then I think they should go through with it, but if they are
expecting massive results, this policy should be revised. The children who could receive better
futures because of this policy are the people who should get to decide if they want it or not, but the
people who should have the most say in the matter are the ones with the smallest voices of

Disadvantages Of E-Learning
RELATIVE ADVANTAGES OF E LEARNING OVER TRADITIONAL METHOD OF
TEACHING learning:
E learning has many advantages that make it suitable for the information age education system. The
main advantage is that it puts the learner in the centre of the equation instead of the teacher, trainer
or instructor. Others are:
It is easy to use and can work from any location. It provides great flexibility to e learners as they
can go through training sessions from anywhere in the world at any time. Thus, it is пЂ geographic
and time independent and saves travel expenses of number of learners and instructors which
otherwise they would have made.
Physical classroom settings are not required. On the contrary, the classroom comes to the learner
when s/he needs it, for just as long as s/he needs it.
It operates in real time. This just in time or any time benefit can make learning possible for people
who never would have been able to work it otherwise. Immediate interaction, feedback etc. sustain
interest of the learner and facilitates learning process.
It is individualized, self directed, self paced and convenient as most e learning programmes can be
taken when needed and at one s own pace. It

Comparing The Persistence Of Memory And The Great Day Of...
The Persistence of Memory, A Trip to the Moon, and The Great Day of His Wrath, all share

in the inspiration of the scientific theories or it was suggested by a large number of viewers who
saw the art. Each work art demonstrates ideal and fantastical versions of these theories in
dreamlike or nightmare ways. For example, in all three artworks, the artists demonstrate the

They include fantasy properties by encompassing science with the improbable. For example in
Dali s The Persistence of Memory, he paints realistic, everyday objects in a strange pattern in an
unusual landscape, for example, it is improbable that clocks would be melting, and in a desert.
But the idea of time dilation is a probability, so Dali uses the improbable to explain the probable.
This is the same for A Trip to the Moon. Humans have always questioned the existence of
extraterrestrial forms. In MГ©liГЁs film, it is improbable that the group of astronomers would
be able to travel to space without the consideration for the lack of oxygen in space. However, as
scientists were focusing only on the survival in space and the transportation there, MГ©liГЁs
focuses on the astronauts adventure on the moon. He ignores the probable and approaches the
existence of extraterrestrial life in a fantastical way by interacting the astronauts and the moon
dwellers. In Martin s painting, Martin envisions the apocalypse straight out of the Bible. However,
in the Book of Revelations, the only visual given is through the text. It is most closely relatable to
the text in Revelations 6. The text explores a few details in the catastrophic sight, such as
mountains falling. Martin takes this reference from the Bible and combines it with his studies of
dinosaur bones and fossils as a scientist. Martin could be combining science with the improbable in
this detail of the painting, but that depends on whether he believed God

Satire In Animal Farm
Compare how George Orwell and the Cartoonist (image below) utilise satire to communicate
social issues and ideas. Both Animal Farm by George Orwell and the Cartoon utilize satire to
communicate social issues and ideas extremely effectively. This is demonstrated by how they
represent the rise and balance of power in society. The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism
to represent different societal issues that occur in different historical settings. They both also used
satireto demonstrate language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal
Farm and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use of
symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal Farm to shows
how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He carried a whip in his trotter. The
whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control
over the animals. Later in the novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the
audience how the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of
the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to control the other
animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to many different historical
settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this era. George Orwell also used the
symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate representation of the balance of power in
society without directly talking about a real life historical events which is a clear example of
satire. The method that George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon.
The Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the politician
who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was leading the animals. The
Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding the government up to demonstrate how
there is a balance of power. If the people were not standing on the plank than the government would
fall. This demonstrates that the government only has power over the people because the people
allow them to which is a social issue that

  • 2. Summary Of Charles Darwin And The Leakey Charles Darwin Vs The Leakeys: Charles Darwin and the Leakey s are two very similar yet different anthropologist s whose discoveries have had an immense impact on the world of anthropology. However, which of the two anthropologist s is better? Although the two are without a doubt, legends in anthropology history, Charles Darwin is definitely better due to the greater impact his discovery has had on the way we live. His theory of evolution by natural selection is the basis for many things we know today, and without it, we would not know a lot of the things we do. It is from his theory that we were able to learn exactly how we came to be, a question that anthropologists have been asking for several years. Therefore, when looking at who is a better anthropologist, it is clear that the answer is Charles Darwin because his discovery has had a larger impact on the way we live. To begin with, Charles Darwin and The Leakey s are different because they both discovered different things. While Darwin came up with a theory of evolution by natural selection, The Leakey s found the earliest fossil of our genus, known as homo. Darwin came up with his theory in 1859. The theory explained that evolution is due to a phenomenon called natural selection. According to his theory, natural selection is a process where only the organisms best adapted to their environment survive and transmit their genetic characters in increasing numbers to succeeding generations, while those less adapted tend to be eliminated. He explained it as Multiply, vary, let the strongest survive and the weakest die (cite). On the other hand, the Leakey s did not come up with a theory, instead, they uncovered the earliest fossil of our genus, referred to as homo. Their discovery led to the confirmation of the theory that humans are of African descent. Even though their actual discoveries differed, Charles Darwin and the Leakeys are both similar in the sense that the two are significant contributors to the understanding of our origins. Charles Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection is responsible for explaining where all living things came from, as well as how they became exquisitely adapted to their particular environments. Whereas, the Leakeys ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Discontinuation of Nuclear Weaponry Creation As Thomas Jefferson once stated, The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government . Have political leaders thrown aside this advice in their pursuit of nuclear arms proliferation? Since 1945, many world leaders have established forms of defense known as nuclear weapons that have the technology and capability to completely annihilate designated regions of the earth. Originally a plan for defense, the creation of nuclear arms has primarily turned into a show of military strength and superiority with little regard towards the preservation of innocent lives, as seen in Japan during World War 2. Although international legislation has been introduced to restrict nuclear arms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Particularly, this strategy was implemented to prevent nuclear attack by these nations. Simply speaking, deterrence nearly guaranties mutual destruction through retaliation to the nations who attack with nuclear weapons and those who are attacked. The deterrence strategy allows for the creation of nuclear arms in order to maintain an arsenal enough for defense of the country. Deterrence in the United States provides safety for both the US and its allies. While this belief has a logical reason for nuclear weapon creation, the US and other countries should work to abolish this precedent to allow for a complete nuclear weapon free world. The idea of a nuclear weapon free world seems impossible but there are many people who have theorized ways to bring upon this peace. These men and women say that in order to get a reliable, nuclear free world, the creation of a sovereign or nearly sovereign international power would be required to effectively manage and watch over worldwide security matters. The country would need to definitely be sovereign if the proposal included an entity to arm this international force with nuclear weapons. It can be concluded that a nuclear free world would demand a radical alteration in global command because of the irreconcilable nature of the independence of truly sovereign states (Post Cold war conflict). Along with this theory, experts believe that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions... On the performance and analysis of DNS security extensions The domain naming server plays a vital role in the internet as it is needed and is involved in every internet application. DNS now works well and it is also sometimes mentioned that any new changes added to the present DNS may contribute to interruption to its functionality and can also contribute towards additional complexity which is undesirable. Current networks and the future networks relay essentially on DNS and it is important that the DNS should be a secured one. The DNS can be easily attacked and such an attack can cause dire consequences so it specifies the importance to use a secured version of DNS to avoid such consequences. To employ such a version involves more cost.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cost for increasing security to DNS varies depending on the kind of name server used. When the data is static then PK DNSSEC is suitable and when the data is dynamic, better option would be to consider SK DNSSEC. Caching resolvers computational cost is large in PK DNSSEC and non recursive servers computational cost is high in SK DNSSEC [2]. Hybrid approach is used to eliminate these computational costs. SK DNSEC cryptographic core contributes less to the total cost in producing symmetric certificates and thus a better performing efficient and fast cryptographic core can be used to improve the performance. If a new resolver is added or when existing root certificate becomes invalid then public key cryptography is used by the SK DNS. In these cases root server can take care of the load caused by valid requests whereas the root server enabled with SK DNSSEC is sensitive to reject of service attack. Security and performance both can be achieved by using hybrid approach. It can be used with PK DNSSEC for the top level domain of DNS tree and for SK DNSSEC for lower level domain of DNS tree. Size of the response packets of DNS are increased by producing higher network traffic and latency in PK DNSSEC. SK DNSSEC is considered to be a possible alternative for PK DNSSEC for few of the important reasons like key management is made easy with SK DNSSEC, smaller response packets which require small memory for caching. • 5. Robert Frost s The Bearer Of Evil Things Sabrina Carpenter says that it s like breathing in the salty air on a private island just for me. Huey Lewis and the News says that it will Make one man weep, make another man sing. Both songs about how love makes you feel and how powerful love actually is. Singers, writers, and poets have talked about lovesince anyone can remember. Everyone feels love and were the power of love has affected everyone. In The Bearer of Evil Things Robert Frost uses imagery, the main character s choices and the acceptance of the main character to show that love leads people astray but in the end always saves them. Frost starts out by setting up a man, the bearer of evil things, on a journey to do the obvious: bear evil things. But Frost says that he remembers or realizes that evil tidings are dangerous. Frost uses this to show that love will make people not think twice. Frost writes, Took him home to her bower,/ Or he might be running yet/ She taught him her tribe s religion (lines 16 18). What Frost is saying here is that the women did not even think about taking him in because she fell in love with him. The man doesn t think twice about continuing running whether because of exhaustion or love for the girl. Then the man decides to adopt the race and Frost says , They had both of them had their reasons/For stopping where they had stopped. (lines 39 40) The reason they stopped was because of love. The man stopped because he fell in love with the tribe and the woman. • 6. Critical Analysis on Edwidge Danticat s A Wall of Fire Rising A Wall of Fire Rising , short story written by Edwidge Danticat, presents one man s desire for the freedom and also, the gap between reality and fantasy which is created by the desire. Two different perspectives of evaluating the life bring the conflict between the Guy and Lili who are parents to the little guy. Throughout the story, the Guy implies that he wants to do something that people will remind of him, but Lili who is opposing to the Guy, tries to settle the Guy down and keep up with the normal life that they are belong to. The Guy is aggressive, adventurous and reckless while Lili is realistic and responsible. The wall of fire is the metaphorical expression of the boundary where divides two different types of people. I call on our young. I call on our old. I call on our mighty and the weak. I call on everyone and anyone so that we shall all let out one piercing cry that we may either live freely or we should die. (Danticat 150) The guy wiped his tear after he hears it and heading outside. When the little guy asks his mother what is wrong with his father, Lili answers His heart hurts, (155) Because of the guy feels pity on himself, he considers his own life as if it is meant for nothing. He does not want to continue with his boring life but, he desires some excitement or magnificent changes to get involved in his life. To put this simply, he wants to live freely, the guy has too much burdens on his shoulders, such as he is the one who need to sacrifice his life to maintain the ordinary life of the family. It was now easier for him to imagine their son s lips around those breasts than to imagine his anywhere near them. (90) This phrase implies that the Guy does not feel Lili as a woman but more like little guy s mother. It also foreshadows that there is not much things that would hold the Guy to stay in the ordinary life. While the little guy s line from the play ignites the Guy s decision, the hot air balloon is the method of practicing his dream. • 7. The Articles Of The Draft Of Capitulation The Articles of Capitulation signed 1760 marked the concluding chapter of France s hegemony in North America. By 1764 the French possession of Ile Royale and Ile St.Jean along with their prize colony of Quebec were handed over to Great Britain. Therefore, why are these articles important in contemporary society and does it indicate British hegemony in Canada? The Articles of Capitulation of Montreal in 1760 was a diplomatic tool used by the British military command to supplant the military forces in New France, by confirming to the needs and rights of regular Francophones within Quebecwhile placing strict editions that legitimized their hegemony in North America. With the increased population, the colony stabilized its economic situation, thereby investing in the welfare of the colony. However as the Articles of Capitulation indicated the period of stability for New France had political and economic problems. With a higher and stable population, French goods and access to tradable goods; furs, pelts and natural resources produced an economic rivalry between the English. As the economic rivalry increased, it began to cause friction in their political relations. Gradually, Franco Anglo relations began to encompass territorial supremacy of the North American region. Interestingly, the geopolitical situation during the early 18th century displayed English territory along the Atlantic seaboard and in Rupert s Land, while France s territory concentrated in the centre of North America. Hostilities between France and Great Britain broke down in 1702 due to the Spanish succession. In North America, this conflict had been referred to as Queen Anne s War and resulted in the accelerated downfall of the New France. When the war ended in 1713 with the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht France was forced to ceded parts of its colony; Acadia, Newfoundland, Hudson Bay and the country of the Iroquois. The Treaty of Utrecht is important because it signified the growing emergence of English hegemony over North America, but more importantly it exhibited English ambition to seize all French possession, indicating a policy of Britain s interest to ... • 8. Socialization Process In Society The socialization process can be described as the process one undergoes to learn the acceptable way to behave in society. From a young age, people are taught how to behave, what to think, and how to look. These variables create rules or norms in society today. Examples of a social norm would be gender rules today. Zimbardo used the example of a man being interested in ballet being seen as unusual and being criticized because of his interests (Zimbardo 144). This is a perfect example of socialization because in society we are groomed to believe that ballet is girly or feminine. While there is nothing about dance itself that is feminine, humanity has created an association with ballet and females. This association is a behavior that is learned during the socialization process. Another example of the socialization process common in today s society would be the gender rule that women are to be submissive in the relationship. Traditionally women stay home, take care of the kids, and cook meals. While none of these acts in them self are submissive an association with these acts and submission from a wife to a husband has formed. This was a perfect example of the socialization process for young girls growing up with the goal to have a family, a husband, and kids, only to perform wifely duties as the perfect life. This socialization though has now been broken with more women going into the workforce and some becoming the breadwinner of the family. Fathers staying home ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Comparing Voice In Poetry And Psalms 6 Voice is a main force that drives along a piece of literature, it adapts to new paths and takes on new meanings based on the speaker, addressee, context, and many other factors. In If You Want to Sing from Islamic Mystical Poetry and Psalms 6, through similar basic structures, both writings deploy voice in order to describe suffering and affirmation of each respective speaker s position. However, through this fundamental parallel, the differences in the particularities of the voices employed are further highlighted. The similarity in the general voice and structure allow for higher scrutiny of the individual texts, accentuating the particular differences in emotionality and clarity that the respective voices carry. Though seemingly different on first look, the two writings follow a similar pattern and basic plot. In both, there is an encouragement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of voice, generally, both deploy a very declarative voice, announcing their struggles and sufferings. Towards the end, however, both move to a more affirmative voice that sustain their stable positions in triumphing against their enemies. Through this similar scheme and movement though different voices, a greater window is created to inspect more meticulously at the detailed differences between the two works in terms of voice. Although they both do deploy a declarative voice in the beginning, there are nuances that give the writings a different meaning and light. Specifically, Psalms 6 brings more emotionality to the way suffering is described. For example, Psalms 6 spends verse two, three, six, and seven just describing in detail how much anguish is felt. In verse six, crying is illustrated through two different ways, flooding the bed and drenching the couch, which constructs a tangible picture in the readers minds. However, this may be due to the fact that there are simply more details and quantity of the text for the suffering as compared ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Proverbs 22: 6 Introduction: The current news that we know especially in Japan and Libya have caused great alarm to most of us. A lot of questions arise regarding the kind of the world our earth is heading up to. Reading II Timothy 3:1 10 and Matthew 24 makes us aware that this world, apart from God, is heading towards turmoil! How then can we give hope and assure ourselves that our children will have a brighter future? My purpose in bringing this message is to reinforce to you, as parents, regarding your privilege and duty in molding the young lives of your children; and for the children the determination to build up their character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How should we train our children? I. THE SYSTEM THAT WE SHOULD EMPLOY IN TRAINING OUR CHILDREN. There must be a dedication. The word chanak translated train occurs 5 times in the Old Testament. It is found twice in Deut. 20:5; I Kings 8:63 where Solomon dedicated, chanak the temple. In II Chronicles 7:5 Solomon dedicated the temple and here in Proverbs 22:6. It is similar to our ground breaking ceremony. There must be excitement and enthusiasm in doing the training of our children. Application: There must be discernment of the child s habits, interests, moods, inclinations and attitudes. • 12. Realism In Eliza Haywood Abstract: Eliza Haywood, writing in the early eighteenth century English literary and cultural space provided a new concept of womanhood and femininity through her amatory works. The amatory novella, a novelistic subgenre, popularized by the women writers of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century England, foregrounded excessive emotion and passion in contrast to the contemporary male writings which dealt with realism in both the theme and technique of representation. Eliza Haywood not only provided a counter tradition to the mainstream male tradition of writing realistic, matter of fact fictions through her sensational, erotic prose fictions but raised a strong antipatriarchal voice through the female protagonists of her novellas. Dr. Johnson s definition of novel as a small tale generally of love is best suited to the amatory fictions which catered the public demand for fictions which would be shorter, less stylized, immediately appealing to a wider range of taste, more practical and affordable (Backscheider xi). If households desired to save more than investors wanted to borrow, the surplus of funds would drive down the interest rate. • 18. How Does The Energy Output Of Ethanol And Determine The... Background Information Calorimeters are devices used to indirectly calculate the energy output of burning fuels by measuring the changes of heat in a system which can then be converted to energy by known mathematical relationships. This investigation seeks to calculate the energy output of Ethanol and determine the optimal calorimeter apparatus for its combustion considering different types of insulation and the best substance in the Calorimeter to absorb the heat of the reaction. Alcohols are an organic compound whose molecule contains one or more of the hydroxyl functional group ( OH) that is bonded to a carbon atom of an alkyl (Nave, 2014). When alcohol is burnt, a combustion reaction occurs with the oxygen in the air, releasing energy in the form of heat. The specific ethanol reaction is as follows: (О”H = 1300 kJ/mol) According to The First Law of Thermodynamics, the energy in a system is constant; it can be transformed from one form to another, but cannot be created or destroyed (Purdue, 2004). Energy in chemical reactions is released as heat, which gets transferred from a substance of higher energy, to that of a lower energy, most commonly by conduction. Conduction occurs best with metals because their molecules are close and they can absorb and release energy quickly, whilst mediums like air are considered insulators because their particles are distanced (Nave, 2014). If researchers use close ended questions, respondents cant include all the data they have to offer and have to fit their views into the question asked, if they use open ended questions the respondents have a chance to put all their meanings down, this could be more time consuming for collecting the date after. Shipman says when the researchers categories are not the respondents categories pruning and bending is inevitable. Specifically in males, it can lead to cancers of the anus, penis, and pharynx. The estimated probability that a sexually active person will get a new genital HPV infection is between 29% and 39% (Hawke). The Human Papillomavirus infects both males and females; however, the protective benefit in heterosexual males has not yet been explored. Therefore, this study monitored the efficacy of the HPV vaccine in heterosexual males to see how it affected both the short term and long term health of their female partners. This study demonstrated that heterosexual males who received the vaccination and their unvaccinated partners showed higher anti HPV antibody titer levels, decreased HPV positivity results via PCR tests, and decreased cancer development rates than the unvaccinated men and their unvaccinated partners. For the Pap smears, those with both groups of men were tested and it was found that women with unvaccinated men were more likely to have abnormal Pap smears than those who were with vaccinated men. The initial goal of developing the HPV vaccination in 2006 was to protect women against cervical cancer (Edgar). In this discipline we examine the configuration of computer system elements and their interconnections of network lattice. Physical network topology deals with the hardware components associated with the computer system including workstations, servers, remote terminals and the cabling associated with them. Logical network topology deals with representation of data flow between nodes which can be dynamically reconfigured once the selected network equipment such as router is available. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the traffic intensity between the nodes is large then this topology is preferable. In this topology, a certain proportion of nodes have multiple paths to another destination node. Each of the traditional network topologies (Bus, Ring, Star and tree network topologies) had only single path from message source to message destination. Since Mesh Network topology provides multiple paths from source to destination so that greatly reduces the probability of single point network failure. The advantage of mesh network over other networks is that source node determines the best suitable route from source to destination based on factors such as connectivity, speed and pending node activities. Mesh topology is not cost effective, this proves to be a major disadvantage for setting up the network. Another disadvantage of this type of network is the need of a routing algorithm by each node for path computation. When each node in the network is directly connected to every other node then it is called a full mesh. This type of network topology works best with small number of nodes in the network. When some nodes in the network are indirectly connected to other nodes in the network then it is called partial mesh. Figure 1 provides an example of both partial and full mesh ... The opening seems realistic Goodman Brown, a young Puritan, leaves his home in colonial Salem to take an overnight trip but his wife s name, Faith, immediately suggests a symbolic reading. Before long, Brown s walk into the dream like forest seems like an allegorical trip into evil. The idea that Hawthorne shows by this trip is that people are attracted to sin through temptation which leads them towards a path of isolation and distrust. The first appearance of a dark imagery is when Goodman Brown describes the road he takes towards the forest, he describes it as a dreary road (8) he also describes all the trees of the forest to appear gloomy like. Another image the author paints is when Goodman Brown is walking down the road he then says that there might be a devilish indian (9) behind the trees. The Health Care System Of Ontario Introduction The health care system in Ontario has been subjected to a lot of criticism and investigation since its introduction midway through the twentieth century. In the past decade, there has been a significant increase in the demand of healthcare, due to increase in the population from immigration and also, an increase in the chronic diseases among the residents of Ontario, which in turn has affected the overall quality of the provision of healthcare. Due to its availability to wide range of people it has become evident that the health care system has been restricted by incorporation of various strict time consuming policies, which may cause the current healthcare system to be unsustainable in the future. Therefore, healthcare industry has added resources to accommodate increase in demands and the needs of the Ontarians, but this does not eliminate the problem that Ontario lacks a system wide and sustained approach to improve quality of primary healthcare, which will be further discussed in the paper. Historical Background According to the Constitutional Act of 1867, it was the responsibility of the province to publically establish and maintain hospitals, asylums, charities and charitable institutions. Federal government took control of the public health care from 1867 1919 after which, healthcare in Canada became a completely private sector. People spend hours scrolling their Instagram feed touching up their pictures to put forth their best looks, updating their Snapchat stories and sending messages with funny faces to friends, trying to stay connected to the world. Social media stars have found a new array of followers and idolizers. All over the world, people inspire to be like that one person with 3,000 followers or 8 million comparing their dazzling looks to their own dull appearance. Although media can help connect the world, it also forces people to compare themselves to others; Social media is a toxic playing field for young women because these comparisons bring low self esteem and a rise in mental illness. Authors Jakobsons, Simmons, and Kellas all agree on one basic idea, social media can affect teen s mental health. Jakobsons and Kellas both argue that this age of visual platforms makes teens feel inadequate, compared to others. Comparisons can bring pressure to look perfect, resulting in a higher risk of anxiety and depression. Though Simmon s dispute revolves more towards the negative body image teens can develop when looking at their feed, she also agrees on the ties it has with mental illness. However, unlike Jakobsons and Kellas, Simmons feels that teens should not be so easily bought in with the images they see on their screens, but should look with the same critical eye as seen through with movies and magazines. On the other hand, Kellas brings in the fact that social media, has made teens feel below average in beauty, intelligence and worth. Authors Jakobsons and Simmons both acknowledge that in order to help with the negative effects of social media parents should talk to their children about feeling confident and letting them know they are perfect the way they are. Rachel Simmons, author of Odd Girl Out and a leader development specialist at Smiths College, argues in her article How Social Media Is a Toxic Mirror that social media has become a way for teens to critique themselves and can create poor eating habits, leading to pro anorexia due to the increase of wellness industries. Another central quality of this family s lifestyle is essentially work. Puma writes: With Johnny s help, father and son would finish up by eleven instead of after midnight for the father alone. In Book 5 of The Gay Science, Nietzsche establishes that God is dead , meaning that modern Europe has abandoned religion in favor of rationality and science (Nietzsche 279). From this death, the birth of a new infinite blossoms in which the world is open to an unlimited amount of interpretations that do not rely on the solid foundations of faith in religion or science. Despite such claims, Nietzsche criticizes this mistaken idea that the knowledge of the universe can be comprehended by any method; he argues that not even the most scrupulously conscientious analysis and self examination of the intellect cannot successfully interpret the progressive history of the world as the human intellect cannot avoid seeing itself in [only] its perspectives (Nietzsche 336). To Nietzsche, Kant and Hegel s attempts to find truth in history is faulty because faith is just now found in science and reasoning rather than religion. What Kant and Hegel fail to realize is that the human race s separation from this faith gave rise to our new infinite , in which the world has become infinite for [humanity] all over again, inasmuch as we cannot reject the possibility that it may include infinite interpretations (Nietzsche 336). Thus the new infinite is self consciously made by the individual members of humanity itself, as we can now independently interpret the world ourselves as we see fit. Nietzsche declares that even if some of these interpretations may include too much devilry, stupidity and foolishness , it does not matter because it does not rely on faith (Nietzsche 336). For example in Dali s The Persistence of Memory, he paints realistic, everyday objects in a strange pattern in an unusual landscape, for example, it is improbable that clocks would be melting, and in a desert. But the idea of time dilation is a probability, so Dali uses the improbable to explain the probable. This is the same for A Trip to the Moon. Humans have always questioned the existence of extraterrestrial forms. In MГ©liГЁs film, it is improbable that the group of astronomers would be able to travel to space without the consideration for the lack of oxygen in space. However, as scientists were focusing only on the survival in space and the transportation there, MГ©liГЁs focuses on the astronauts adventure on the moon. He ignores the probable and approaches the existence of extraterrestrial life in a fantastical way by interacting the astronauts and the moon dwellers. This is demonstrated by how they represent the rise and balance of power in society. The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism to represent different societal issues that occur in different historical settings. They both also used satireto demonstrate language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal Farm and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use of symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal Farm to shows how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He carried a whip in his trotter. The whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control over the animals. Later in the novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the audience how the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to control the other animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to many different historical settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this era. George Orwell also used the symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate representation of the balance of power in society without directly talking about a real life historical events which is a clear example of satire. The method that George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon. The Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the politician who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was leading the animals. The Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding the government up to demonstrate how there is a balance of power. If the people were not standing on the plank than the government would fall. This demonstrates that the government only has power over the people because the people allow them to which is a social issue that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
