Essay About Family Background
Crafting an essay about one's family background might initially seem like a straightforward task,
but delving into the intricacies of personal history often unveils unexpected challenges. The
difficulty lies not only in the technical aspect of constructing coherent sentences and organizing
thoughts but also in navigating the emotional landscape that accompanies such a reflective
endeavor.
To start, recounting the details of one's family background requires a careful balancing act
between objectivity and subjectivity. The writer must maintain accuracy while interpreting the
events and dynamics that have shaped their family over time. This introspective process can be
both revealing and emotionally charged, requiring a delicate touch to articulate experiences
without becoming overwhelmed by sentimentality.
Moreover, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and stereotypes while presenting the
uniqueness of one's family background. It demands a keen awareness of personal biases and a
commitment to portraying a genuine, nuanced representation of the family's journey. Unearthing
the significant events, traditions, and values that characterize the family without resorting to
oversimplified narratives adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process.
Additionally, there's the challenge of striking a balance between personal disclosure and
respecting the privacy of family members. Not every detail may be suitable for public
consumption, necessitating thoughtful consideration and perhaps selective omission to maintain
a respectful portrayal.
In conclusion, crafting an essay about family background is a multifaceted task that requires
adept storytelling, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to authenticity. It's not merely a
chronological recollection but a thoughtful exploration of the intricate web of relationships and
experiences that have contributed to shaping an individual. While challenging, the process can
be profoundly rewarding, offering insights into one's own identity and fostering a deeper
understanding of familial bonds.

Macbeth And Lady Macbeth
In Shakespearian times the woman had no powerful roles, they did not write or act
in plays. The roles were strictly played by men. Only men could have a high
positioned job, and could hunt and other masculine things. This was true, however, in
Macbeth written by William Shakespeare he portrays that both the men and the
women in the play craved and have powerful roles, and desire ambition. Additionally,
he shows how the roles of genderare flipped between Macbethand Lady Macbeth,
and displays that Lady Macbeth wants control over Macbeth. In the play Lady
Macbeth stands in for Macbeth s manliness throughout the text, and she was the
brain of all his decisions. She desired to manipulate his decisions so it would work
out in her favor, so she could have a higher position as queen. Although A Strange
Infirmary authored by Jenijoy La belle asserts that the actions of a women in that
time period were not looked at as manly actions, and women were incapable to
have such manly cravings due to their physical setbacks characteristics, and in The
Five Tragedies in Macbeth written by Miguel Bernad, he states that the roles of
gender flip and the characteristics of each gender can be in either characters, and he
shows the intense grip of Lady Macbeth s power over her husband. With these
sources you can see, manly qualities and strive for power is not something that is
held only within a physical man. Sex does not play a role for hunger for ambition.
However, in these times women
Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay
Abstract The proliferation of Location Based Services
(LBSs) and Geo Social Networks (GSNs) significantly increase the exposure risks
of location information leading to leakage of sensitive information. Location
privacy preserving methods are designed to provide a specified level of privacy
based on some pre defined privacy guarantees such as k anonymity and e
differential privacy. In certain situations, we note that users would need different
privacy protection levels based on their relationships and trust associated with the
users of the exposed location data. For instance, users of a location based social
network may need a smaller privacy protection level in interaction with their close
friends and a larger privacy protection level in relationship with public users. In this
paper, we present a privacy aware access control model that provides different
location privacy protection levels based on various access control list of users. The
proposed privacy preserving access control model not only preserves the
confidentiality of access control policy but also provides an efficient mechanism for
grant and revoke of authorizations.

Apple Took Advantage Of The Great Recession
Q1. Apple took advantage of The Great Recession (2007 2009) after many of its
competitors had bankrupt or suffered from huge losses, causing an excessive of the
amount of the unsold components that the manufacturers had produce. They could
not find a market that can buy them, Apple sees that as an opportunity to buy those
components, such as memory chips and LCDs, at lower prices and in most the time
at cost, and use it as a competitive advantage in its manufacturing.
Apple s management had predicted its margins to be shrieked for the next 5 years; as
a cause of that recession that reshaped the market. The management took a fast and
smart decision and they predict the market after they analyzed it and found out that
they can make better future by using the low prices of the parts, rather than
downsizing.
Apple had adapted to the market change by developing the app revolution, where
developers (most of them are apple s customers) can design and program their own
apps and generate profits, which added about 300,000 jobs to the U.S. economy.
They also provided app developers with the tools and distribution they need to bring
their best ideas to tens of millions of its customers worldwide.
Sharing their customers with developing their products build a strong and long
relationship between them, and that s an long term adaptive to the future market
where the customers are more involved and they value their services over the prices.

This is the role that sophocles played in shaping what is theatre today; what made
him such a good playwright? Was it his Views on Religion? Did he differentiate
himself on his opinion of women in his plays that of other playwrights of his time?
Is he originally creative or just imitating other playwrights of his days? In this paper
you will find the answers to all these questions and see the impact he has on today s
theatre.
Sophocles regarded the popular mythology/religion of that time as fiction rather than
truth. He believes in the principals that the tales of the old Gods represent. Not today

Entrepreneurs Personality for Being Successful in Business

Abstract Business success may causes due to many factors, but the greatest
determinant of the business success is the entrepreneur himself / herself. Therefore,
the question of what makes a successful entrepreneur is very important. There have
been many answers to this question. Some people think entrepreneurs are born,
others that they are made. Some see entrepreneurs as passionate leaders with a vision
that is totally focused on one objective, while others describe them as compulsive

whether is it a nice book or not? Here a decorative cover page does not carry a long
lasting impact on that persons mind. Therefore, personality includes both factors i.e.
physical appearance and formidable foundation of good behavior and character.
Physical appearance is that personality which creates first impression in front of
others that s why it can be taken as the primary or outer personality of an
individual, while foundation is considered as secondary or inner personality
because it has second impact on others. It is not necessary that one should possess
physical appearance because it is sometimes depends on the heredity factors of
that person. It is inborn type of personality and sometimes depends on the luck
factor too. If a person got good looks then it adds to his plus point. We should
remember that a person s height, weight and complexion are not in his hand but he
can take care to keep himself neat and clean to impress others. Thus, working on
primary personality is necessary but only putting concentration on it is not
sufficient. The best personality is based on the solid foundation of character. Good
behavior and co operation makes a man popular. But this strong foundation is not an
inborn quality of a person. It can be developed from one s childhood and has impact
of family, family background, friends, working area, society, regions and experience
etc. These factors also contribute in developing one s character and behavior.
Way Of The Peaceful Warrior Character Analysis
That Was No Accident
In the book, Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Dan experiences an accident on his
motorcycle at his home in Los Angeles. However, that accident was not accidental, it
was part of a larger plan and was going to happen whether he thought he could
prevent it or not.
During Dan s training to become a warrior Socrates often gave Dan advice that
either did not make sense at the time or Dan did not take seriously. On a particular
day as Dan was saying good bye to Socrates for a couple days when he told Socrates
of his plans Socrates offered piece of advice that was frightening to him. Socrates
had said many things to him at that time and one of them was You ll be tested
severely before you re done. Part of Dan s plans while he was in Los Angeles was
to buy a motorcycle that he could ride back to San Francisco. One evening after
Dan had bought his motorcycle he was riding down an avenue as he approached an
intersection he saw a car facing him that was trying to turn left. As he slowed down
the car started to turn right in front of him. The motorcycle and Dan collided right
into the car, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A parable that Joy told Dan while he was in the hospital was about a man having a
troubles on his farm, but he would never say whether he thought that it was good
luck or bad luck. Each of the situations that happened to the old man could have
been taken either way. Dan s accident could have been looked at the same way;
either it was good luck or bad luck, which apply to the reasons why he may have had
the accident. One reason that Dan may have had the accident was that he was not
supposed to attend the World Gymnastics Championships in Yugoslavia. It may have
been that Socrates new of something that was bound to happen when he was there
that could have been more damaging physically or mentally to his warrior training. A
further reason that Dan may have had the accident was so that he could take time and
Children Living Apart from Families in Totalitarian
Societies
In many real life and fictionalized totalitarian societies, children live apart from their
families. Why would dictatorial leaders enforce this living arrangement? In the book
Anthem, the children are living in a totalitarian society. This society is usually run by
a dictator and there is very little or no freedom. In totalitarianism, the governmentor in
this case the councils control almost every aspect of life. There is no free speech
or freedom of the press; certain religions or ideas may be banned. We are one in all
and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and
forever. This plays a great part in the book because we is what the people refer to as
themselves. Everyone is equal to each other and there is no I . The councils in
Anthem believe that no brother should ever rise above one another. No brother
should outsmart the other.
Knowledge is a powerful thing. In totalitarian societies children are taken away
from their parents at very young ages, so they learn all the same things. All of the
student s knowledge is kept at the same level. All the children know is only what the
government teaches them. It was not that the learning was too hard for us. It was
that the learning was too easy. It is not good to be different from our brothers, but is
evil to be superior to them. This evidence from the book Anthem shows us that it is
not a good thing to be smarter than the other student s. It is a sin. Dictators who want

How Has Art Changed Throughout The Modern Time
Modernity represented a time period of human belief in rationality that lasted from
. A time period where everything was quantifiable and litteral. Artwork strived to
be as visually realistic as possible and it s quality was based on such. It also
included the idea that socially and politically, humans were advancing, and that they
would act rationally to benefit themselves and act in line with whatever class they
were in. And also that psychologically human beings are rational, and as such are
potentially able to understand everything in the universe, including themselves, and
eventually acquire infinite knowledge. Firstly artwork, during the modern period it
s primary goal was to achieve the most real picture as possible. As the camera hadn
t been invented yet and it was still the best method of capturing scenes. For example,
Mr and Mrs Andrews painted in 1750 that portrayed a wealthy couple overlooking
their land. The the quality of the paintings of this time were measured down to how
accurate the picture was and how obvious the artist s brush strokes weren t. These
scenes were usually focused on things that most people considered to be rational.

After this the focus of art shifted to depiction of an emotion or experience. An
example of this would be impressionism, which differed in 2 main ways. First it
focused on lower social classes, IE middle or low income, and their daily activities.
Secondly, the entire style of art had changed. These paintings were much more
expressive with a wider range of color and lighting, and often included subject matter
that was shocking to whoever viewed it. For example L Absynthe a painting
depicting a woman drinking a very potent alcoholic beverage in a
The Rate Of Teenage Pregnancy
Her name is Isabel . She got pregnant at 15 and brought forth a little girl at 16. One
night her and her boyfriend decided to engage in sexual relations. After that night
her life changed drastically . After 4 weeks she figured out she was pregnant.
Isabel conversed with a trusted auntie, and she took her to go get checked. She peed
in a container and those 2 lines came up. Isabel took a gander at her Aunt ,but she
didn t generally recognize what to say. She told Isabel that it would have been
alright. I am regularly frightened when I see an amazingly youthful young lady
encountering parenthood during a period when her fundamental concerns ought to be
far not exactly those of raising another person. The truth of the matter is that
consistently more teenage girls are having babies at an alarmingly, youthful age.
This issue brings up the issue of what should be possible to forestall and bring down
the rates of teenage pregnancy. Keeping in mind the end goal is to avert teenage
pregnancy. Youngsters need a complete comprehension of restraint, preventative
strategies, and outcomes .Young people who are pregnant can t typically bolster the
youngster all alone. Teenage Pregnancy is a developing issue all around the globe.
Despite the fact that the numbers have been brought down, it is still an issue in our
general public. At the point ,when teenagers become pregnant their associations with
their family, companions, and the father of the infant can change a considerable
Flu Shots Experience
Today I got to experience giving middle school and high school students flu shots at
Lanier County Middle/High School. I was expecting the students to be nervous and
show signs of intimidation at the sight of the needle. Before going to the school, I
helped the nurse gather the equipment we were going to use, which included, the
influenzaimmunizations, Band Aids, alcohol prep wipes, and gloves. We also
brought colorful pencils and stickers for the students after receiving their flu shot.
The nurse also made sure to bring the emergency kit, which consisted of epinephrine,
just in case anyone had an allergic reaction. Once we arrived at the school, we
discovered that only 30 students out of 800 had consent forms to receive their flu...

This health department does a good job with keeping patients up to date on their
immunizations. A patient came in wanting a flu shot, and was 69 years old. The
nurse questioned the patient about if she had ever received the pneumococcal
immunization. The patient had never received the vaccine, so we talked to the patient
about its importance, and she ended up getting immunized. We had another young
couple come in for flu shots, so I got a lot of practice with giving intramuscular shots
today. Generally, I think Lanier County health department does contribute to the
overall health of the community. They are efficient when a patient comes in to do a
thorough assessment, not just physical, but asking about the patients home life and
family. The number of people that have come to the health department to receive an
influenza shot has represented a large portion of Lanier County residents. This can
potentially reduce the spread of influenza through out the community. Because there
were so few students at the schools to receive the shot, the nurses discussed going
back to the schools to try to get more students immunized in hopes of further reducing
the frequency of influenza within the school system and the

the most relevant elements of today s culture in Latin America are; Religion, Values,
Attitudes, Social structure, Social stratification, Language and Gift giving hospitality.
The predominant religion throughout history in Latin America has been Catholicism.

In Latin American culture the most important unit of the social structure is the
family. The most important unit within the family is the oldest male of the house,
which generally is the father or grandfather. In Latin American culture, the degree of
social stratification is very high. The social mobility is very limited due that the Latin
American society is merely classis. This classis is based on race and ethnicity. Latin
American might be considered as multilingual; nevertheless Spanish is predominant
in most countries. Latin American language was influenced by the Spanish and
Portuguese conquerors, native Indians, the African slaves, the immigrants
communities of World War I and II.
2.An important factor that might cause a cultural change in Latin America is
Globalization. Industrialization is growing in Latin America rapidly and this is a
consequence of globalization. Some of the changes that are likely to occur are
modernization of cities which will make rich people richer, and poor people poorer.
Mega cities are being built by multinational corporations in cities such as Santiago in
Chile. The Contrast between these wealthy mega cities with rural areas can be very
extreme. For example in Argentina there is an emerging high tech industry brought by
globalization. Entering globalization also means that Latin Americans will have to
acquire more and new skills, learn how to do business with foreigners and
Wills Trusts
Wills Trusts: San Fernando Valley Wills Trusts Attorney:
The Law Offices of Robert S. Miles, APC is a San Fernando Valley Wills Trusts
Attorney that has focused on estate planning for over 15 years. Throughout this time,
this legal office has drafted comprehensive estate planning documents that everyone
should have, including but not limited to revocable living trusts, wills, advance
health care directives, durable powers of attorney for finance, the nomination of
guardians for minors; as well as advanced planning documents including irrevocable
life insurance trusts and charitable trusts.
The Importance of Estate Planning:
The slogan embraced by The Law Offices of Robert S. Miles, APC , People don t

planning. Many people would rather not think about what will happen to their estate
after their deaths or what might occur should they become extremely ill. However, it

neglect to do so leaves the remaining family members and friends in a difficult

Detection And Prevention System For Cloud Infrastructure
Abstract In this era of technology when everything is available at just one click;
Security is a big issue. Hackers and intruders are getting smarter. There are various
methods to protect the network infrastructure as well as communication over the
internet, for example firewalls, encryption, and virtual private networks. Intrusion
detectionis a comparatively new approach to such techniques. By using intrusion
detection, we can collect and use information from acknowledged attacks and figure
out if somebody is trying to attack the network/host. In this paper, we have classified
different types of IDS. Also we have proposed a hybrid model for intrusion detection
and prevention system for cloud infrastructure, which has improved the quality of
detecting the unidentified attack via anomaly based detection along with a module
which will try to diminish the number of false alarms which are generated by the
system. Our proposed system finds random attacks in network and prevents these
attacks automatically using the mechanism.

a transmission line cable with each of the end at a similar height, and by
neglecting inertia in the longitudinal direction. Since the displacement of the every

created in the present work, which can be used efficiently to determine a different
kind of types of cable structures like suspension bridges , guyed towers , , cable

Serial murder is defined as the murder of at least three victims accompanied with an
intermittent cooling off period in between. Often during the cooling off period the
serial killer fantasizes about his next potential victim and contrives a plan to enact
said fantasy (Simons, 2001). The term serial killer was introduced into the English
lexicon in the 1970 s and used to describe individuals who committed a series of
murders under these pretenses. The typical age of onset for serial murder is
usually in the mid to late twenties (Arndt, Hietpas, and Kim, 2004). It is difficult to
determine when exactly Robert Pickton began his string of killing since much of
his early life remains shrouded in mystery. The best way to examine the frequency
of Pickton s murders and the duration of the cooling off period between them then,
is to examine data of women reported missing from the Downtown Eastside area of
Vancouver. Using this data, it can be reasonably assumed that Pickton began his
murders (at least within the context of his general modus operandi) sometime in the
late 1970 s or early 1980 s (The Pickton Trial, CBC.ca/news). Using the missing
women data along with evidence found on the Pickton farm, it is seen that the
murders increased in frequency with a much smaller cooling off period throughout
the 1990 s and early 2000 s before his eventual arrest in 2002.

Determining The Ksp Value For Silver Acetate Essay
Determining the Ksp value for silver acetate.
Introduction:
An equilibrium constant for a solid substance that is dissolving in an aqueous
solution is represented by the solubility product constant, where the concentrations of
different ions from the solid substance (compound) are used to calculate the solubility
product constant. If the solubility product constant vale is high then the substance is
very soluble in an aqueous solution. The solubility product constant is denoted by
Ksp, and for a common reaction: aA(s) в‡Њ cC(aq)+dD(aq)T
The Ksp= [C(aq)]c[D(aq)]d
The concentration of the solid (aA) doesn t contribute to the equilibrium constant
because their concentration doesn t change the expression of the equilibrium
constant. Any change in their concentration isn t that important as the ions and
therefore they are taken out of the expression, hence, the solubility product constant
represents the amount of solid that can be dissolved in a solution.
One important effect on the solubility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Effects Of Self Esteem On Self-Esteem
). Self esteem significantly affects the child s development in regulating their
emotions to support healthy and positive interpersonal relationships. Children with
high self esteem display higher confidence in self expression, giving and receiving
love, development of judgment, and gain critical cognitive skills (Kostelnik et al.,
2010). Moreover, children with low self esteemoften showcase negative emotional
response, aggression, antisocial behavior, and a pessimistic outlook (Kostelnik et
al., 2010). As confidence is stemmed from the sense of security that children feel
from their caregivers; healthy parental efficacy plays a role in helping their child
develop positive self esteem. The caregiver must provide an adequate amount of
WAGER to provide a secure space for the child to learn, gain self awareness, and
develop self regulating skills (Kostelnik et al., 2010). Therefore, the amount of
WAGER and sensitive caregiving that a parent provides is correlated to the level of
self esteem that the child develops. For example, when parents provide a sensitive

Dramatic And Dramatic Elements In Sense And Sensibility
By...
In Sense and Sensibility, dramatic and theatrical elements played a major role in
how the audience perceived the play and related it back to the theme of how people
should follow their heart instead of the opinions of others. These elements combined
allow for this theme to be shown throughout the play without being forced. This
gives the audience a great opportunity to experience the world of the play in a deeper
understanding. Taibi Magar uses these designs effectively to create an enjoyable
performance with a deeper meaning that the audience can relate to. The conflict of
Sense and Sensibilityrevolves around the theme of the battle between choosing what
the heart wants and what others want. Throughout the play the characters had to...

The song was played at the beginning and the end of the play was BeyoncГ© s
Single Ladies. With lyrics such as If you like it then you should have put a ring on
it fits the theme perfectly. This line means that if Edward and John liked Elinor
and Marianne then they should have asked for their hand in marriage instead of
fearing their family to disapprove of their marriage. When this song was played at
the beginning the audience was given a sense of dramatic irony. The dramatic
irony is that the audience now knew that the play would revolve around marriage
that the characters did not know. After the play the audience could understand
fully how the song correlates to the play. The song also helped bring a modern
twist and create a happy mood that the audience could sing along to and interact
with the play more. The set, designed by Peter Ksander, used few pieces of
furniture and few changes with the backdrop to highlight the heart not needing
money as a fuel for desire. Throughout the play the audience sees how Edward
Ferrars (Rishan Dhamija) struggles internally on whether he should marry for
power and wealth, or happiness. The audience experiences this when Edward
Ferrars first speaks with Elinor Dashwood (Shanelle Nicole Leonard) the scene is

Military Alliance System Essay
Firstly, the Alliance system contributed to the outbreak of WWI. One such example
of the Alliance system would be Bismarck s Dual Alliance in 1879, Triple Alliance
in 1882, and the Triple Entente in 1907. In 1878, Germany and Austria Hungary
formed the Dual Alliance, in a bid to increase security. It was enlarged to the Triple
Alliancewhen Italy joined in 1882. The Triple Alliance was a defensive military
alliance where the signatories were required to provide military support to each other
should one of them be engaged in a battle. In response to the Triple Alliance, Russia,
who considered Austria Hungary as her main rival, sought to ally herself alongside
with France, and eventually Britain as well, hence creating the Triple Entente. The...

Another example would be the July Crisis in 1914. The assassination of Archduke
Franz Ferdinand on 28 June 1914 was significant as it raised the serious rivalry
between Austria and Serbia. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot in the morning in
Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip, who was a Bosnian Serb nationalist who was a member
of the Black Hand, an anti Austrian terrorist organization that was sponsored by the
government of Serbia. On 5 July, Kaiser William II of Germanyhad promised to
support Austria and agreed that Austria should be given a free hand to start war
with Serbia, and gave the First Blank Check . Austria then presented Serbia with a
list of unreasonable demands and only gave Serbia 48 hours to reply. However,
when Serbia replied that they would agree with all the demands except allowing
Austrian army into the country, Austria rejected this reply and declared war where
she began bombing Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. With this declaration of war,
Russia, being involved in an alliance with Serbia, ordered her army to mobilize

Modem Profession
An occupation does not become a profession merely because its members decide it
will be one. Modem professions share much in common with classical professions.
The Hallmarks that have come to characterize a profession are based on a midevel
models: a guild, high level of education, public recognition, and a specialized body of
knowledge.
Emanating from the existential needs of society and the professions are established
and maintained by the mutual interactions of society and professions, both
collectively and individually. Therefore, professionalethics can be seen as the explicit
understanding of the relationship between the profession and society. The making of
the model, the covenant is one of the oldest and most enduring ways in which
BaconВґs Rebellion Infleunce on Jamestown
Bacon s Rebellion is considered to be one of the most confusing and fascinating
part Jamestown s history. The main parties involved in Bacon s Rebellion were
complete opposites and oddly enough cousins by marriage. Governor Sir William
Berkeley was a veteran of the English Civil Wars, a frontier Indian fighter, a
Governor in the 1640 s, a playwright and scholar. Sir William Berkeleys reputation as
Governor of Virginia was well respected. The other member involved was Nathaniel
Bacon. Bacon was a known as a troublemaker and conspirator whose father sent him
to Virginia with the hope that he would mature. Bacon was intelligent and moving
and once Bacon arrived in Virginia, Berkeley treated him with respect and friendship.
Berkeley granted him both substantial land grant and a seat on the council in 1675.
The Virginia colony was experiencing economic problems, such as declining tobacco
prices, growing commercial competition from Maryland and the Carolinas, a
restricted English market, the rising prices from English manufactured goods, and
disturbances made by the Indians. There were also English losses in the series of
naval wars with the Dutch and there were numerous problems caused by weather.
Storms and dry spells plagued the colony and had a damaging effect on the colonists
which encouraged the colonists to find people they could vent their frustrations and
place the blame for their misfortunes.
The Virginia colony began to experience problems in July 1675 as a
Bobbie Ann Mason Research Paper
Southern writer Bobbie Ann Mason was born on May 1, 1940 in Mayfield,
Kentucky to her parents Wilburn and Christina Mason along with her four other
siblings. It was when she was still a child that her interest in writing emerged and
she began writing stories influenced by children s mystery novels (Bobbie Ann
Mason). These works would continue to influence her writing even in her later
years. Bobbie Ann Mason is still alive today, and is approaching her older years of
life, but she still publishes work, and travels around doing book reading and
signings (Bobbie Ann Mason). Her entire life has been dedicated to writing, she
attended school for it, pursued a teaching career in it, and dedicated herself full time
as a writer (Bobbie Ann Mason).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her criticism of Mason and comparison of these three stylistically different
writers, she is quoted on an important aspect of the meaning of their, and especially
Mason s, stories, Why do we read novels and short stories? For pleasure; for
instruction; for the solace of seeing others in familiar dilemmas; for the
opportunity to see what is unfamiliar, perhaps strange; for hope. These writers, in
different ways, satisfy these requirements. (Becker). Not only does she raise
incredible praise for these writers, she also gives us an opportunity to see how
Mason s writing fits into the other writers of her time. She shows us what the
purpose of the short story is in Mason s world, for hope (Becker). Mason in
particular inspires this hope because although she is introducing her readers to the
characters of rural Kentucky, change is something that, on some level, every reader
can relate to and understand (Becker). This idea of understanding can even be
compared and seen throughout the criticisms of character presentation by Michiko
Kakutani, who has an appreciation for the way she lays out her characters to her
audience, and the commentary by Robert Newman on how she relates to her readers
through her characters. The way these two appreciate Bobbie Ann Mason s character
development is the same way that Robin Becker appreciates how she presents the
story itself to her

The Future of Spaceflight and Why It Should Be Private

spacecraft approaches a gigantesque space station pirouetting in the vast dark. The
pilots of this vessel make use of flat screen computer displays to match their rotation

includes a bemoaning of the transformation of America s once proud NASA into a

The continued launching of spacecraft by NASA and other national space
organizations however, as this essay intends to demonstrate, is an antiquity that is
nearing the end of its usefulness. The appropriation of space launch capabilities by
the private industry is fundamental to increased accessibility to space; furthermore,
it is essential for the long term health of the scientific pursuits to which NASA is
dedicated. The national space programs of Earth have, so far, failed to provide a
reasonable alternative to the obscene costs incurred through the crude launching of
payloads into orbit atop massive and failure prone chemical rockets. While no
alternative to the use of chemical rocketry has yet been proven, one for reducing its

Narrative Analysis Of The Sniper
Drama, suspense, war, and death. In the anti war short story The Sniper written by
Liam O Flaherty, a Republican sniper embraces his rifle and conceals on the roof
top without a sound, waiting to kill his enemies. The sniper accidentally gives away
his location when he lights up a cigarette and exposes himself to the enemy sniperon
the opposite roof. The two snipers from two conflicting sides then faces each other
off through an innovative war; using both their shooting skills and intelligence.
Subsequently, the Republican sniper pulls out a brilliant plan and he successfully
shoots out a deadly bullet to the enemy sniper. After the line of life and death, the

When the Republican sniper finally kills the enemy sniper, he refers to him as an
object: it, the body, the shattered mass. He only refers to the dead sniper as a he
when he is thinking about the time before the war. The characterization and word
choice by O Flaherty shows the readers how the horrors of war effect the sniper s
feelings and mindset.
With the support of characterization and diction, O Flaherty describes the setting in a
way that gives off depressing, suspenseful and pessimistic images; showing that war
is an awful thing. The author dedicates the entire first paragraph to describe the
setting and to illustrate the atmosphere of the story. For example, Dublin lay
enveloped in darkness. The word darkness instantly creates a sense of insecurity and
mystery in the readers minds and as well as a suspenseful atmosphere. The sentence
The dim light of the moon shone through fleecy clouds, casting a pale light transmits
a feeling of loneliness and depression since moon is often thought as lonely in the
high end of the sky. Around the beleaguered Four Courts the heavy guns roared. Here
and there through the city machine guns and rifles broke the silence of the night,
spasmodically like dogs barking on lone farm. In this sentence, the author identifies
Dublin as a dangerous and insecure city, full of constant violence with the
accompaniments of machine guns and rifles. In addition, when the Republican drops

Informative Speech On The Black Sox Scandal
General Purpose: I will inform the class about an event in history.
Specific Purpose: I would like to inform people on the 1919 Black Sox Scandal in
Major League Baseball.
Introduction
Attention Getter: In 2008 the New York Giants won the Super Bowl by defeating the
previously unbeaten New England Patriots in what most sports fans call one of the
greatest upsets in sports history. What would you think if I told you the Patriots lost
the game on purpose? They didn t, but in 1919 eight members of the Chicago White
Sox conspired to intentionally lose the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds in
what people now refer to as the Black Sox Scandal.
Speaker Credibility:
My uncle is a huge sports buff and he s often talked to me about this specific scandal.
I remember growing up and still hearing how upset this scandal made him. Its
something that still prevalent in todays sports.
Relate the topic to the audience:
You all probably have watched sports at some time and it should be very interesting
for you guys to know about some drama within the sports industry.
Specific purpose:
Today I want to share with you the story of the black sox scandal of 1919.
Preview of Main Points:
I will talk to you about why the Whitesoxs were the favorites, why the Whitesoxs
players didn t like their management, and how that affected how baseball changed his
management.
Body
A.Transition: Heading into the World Series the White Sox were heavy favorites,
and people in both cities believed they would make quick work of the Reds.
I.Throughout the time leading up to the 1919 World Series, reporters in both Chicago
and Cincinnati spoke about how good the World Series would be, and the odds
makers listed the White Sox as heavy favorites.
A.The former MLB pitcher Cristy Mathewson, predicted the best played series in

How far do you agree with the opinion that courtship and marriage are undermined
and ridiculed in The Taming of the Shrew ?
Shakespeare s drama The Taming of the Shrew is set in the Elizabethan era, and
marriage and courtship was very different than how it is in the present. Back then it
was the parents who picked suitors for their daughters. This choice would be final for
the daughters but often women rebelled against the decision as they wanted to
choose their own suitors. Romeo and Juliet is an example of this. In our Taming of
the Shrew this is no different as Baptista Minola chooses the suitors in which marry
his daughters.
We first see this undermining of courtshipand marriage when Petruchio speaks of his
view on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Petruchio takes away the whole aspect of falling in love from Katherina as he
forces her to marry him and her father happily abides, will you, nill you, I will
marry you . This again makes a charade of marriage. I agree when CoppГ©lia Kahn
says The overt force Petruchio wields over Kate by marrying her against her will in
the first place, and then by denying her every wish and comfort, stamping, shouting,
reducing her to exhaustion, etc., is but a farcical representation of the psychological
realities of marriage... as the audience would definitely find it funny and is a perfect
example of Shakespeare s attempts to ridicule the sanctity of marriage.
As Robert Heilman demonstrates, the taming is best viewed as farce which carries
out our desire to simplify life by a selective anesthetizing of the whole person; man
retains all his energy yet never really gets hurt and this is shown as the drama is a
comedy of mocking the institution of marriage.
Another negative outlook against marriage and courtship is when we find of
Hortensio s plans to disguise himself as a schoolmaster well seen in music to
instruct Bianca . Lucentio also disguises himself by swapping clothes and identities
with Tranio so that he may woo Bianca secretly. This shows courtship to be a
mockery as when you court someone, you are opening up and showing the person
who you are and that you ve nothing to hide. Hortensio is doing the complete
opposite as
Holmes Good Vs Evil
The quote captures the constant contrast between good and evil. Holmes is a
vicious man and will use anyone to obtain whatever objective is set into motion. It
analyzes Holmes development in the dark and light, he is presented as both and
does not abide to one specific element. Holmes presents himself to everyone he
meets as charismatic. Disarming their guards to achieve something; benefit from
them in some shape or form. He uses these traits to obtain something whether the act
be good or evil; they cannot portray the true meaning of his actions. In certain cases
his charm is used to present purity in the action, but deep down reveal a sinister act.
Belknap still did not like Holmes, but he found his candor sufficiently disarming
(Larson 87). Holmes contains many different traits to his personality, mostly good
and evil depicted through his actions in the novel. In parallel to his varying
personality, other characters also hold many uncertain feelings towards Holmes, due
to his attitude differences from person to person. The general understanding of
Holmes is complex for characters that have confronted him, which in turn is complex

these devices to confuse his colleagues and audience, a magic trick, directing
attention away from the real act. Good and evil. The illusion of purity and light

Grievance and disciplinary
Critically explain the key skills required to prepare, conduct and conclude grievance
and disciplinary cases effectively (40%)
Discipline and grievance are often put together, however, most organisations try to
keep discipline and grievance apart, therefore to distinguish the idea that there are a
number of conceptual and practical differences between discipline and grievance
(Dundon and Rollinson, 2011).
Discipline is defined as some action taken against an individual who fails to
conform to the rules of an organisation of which he or she is a member , (Wheeler,
1976, as cited by Dundon and Rollinson, 2011).
The grievance procedure can be defined in many ways, the International Labour
Organisation defines grievance as follows, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When preparing for a grievance meeting, managers should arrange a meeting in
private, consider having someone that is not involved in the case to take notes,
consider any special requirements for the employee if they have difficulty conversing
in English, or is perhaps disabled and consider whether to offer independent
mediation.
When conducting the grievance meeting, managers are expected to make
introductions as necessary, give the employee an opportunity to restate their
grievance and how they wish for it to be solved, put care and thought into resolving
the grievance, consider adjourning the meeting if it is necessary to investigate any
new facts which arise and sum up the main points from the meeting (ACAS, 2015).
When concluding the meeting, it is important for the manager to keep the employee
in the know by informing them on when they can expect a response if one cannot be
made immediately (ACAS, 2015).
Disciplinary procedures follow a similar process to grievance procedures although
they are not exactly the same. For example, employers should talk to the employee in
private if they feel the employee is not performing to expected standards. The
discussion should be encouraging performance and any criticism should most
definitely be constructive in order to keep the rapport intact. The manager should
make it clear to the
Analyzing The Five Versions Of Pope Urban II s Speech
In 1094 or 1096, Alexios I Komnenos, The Byzantine emperor, formally asked Pope
Urban II to address a large crowd at the council of Clermont to persuade them to
assist the Greeks in the recovery of Palestine from the Muslims. Although the act
that occurred at Clermont was not recorded, five men who heard and was present at
Clermont recorded their versions of the speech. With these five versions of this
speech being the only link in history to PopeUrban II s speech, each version showing
a sense of diversity and the only history known about the crusades. The five versions
of Pope Urban II s speech differentiated each other one way or another. Although,
each version does talk about going to support and help the Greeks in the fight to take
over Palestine and the Holy Land once again from the Muslims they will be forgiven
for their sins upon fighting with one another. Pope Urban the II also stresses the
importance in regaining control of the Holy Land to the Christian men.

However, it is safe to say that Urban is persuading the people to declare and fight.
They will not go to hell for their sins, just the opposite will happen, considering
they are fighting to get the Holy Land back. Urban wants these Catholic men to
stop fighting amongst one another but to join together and fight for common good
to claim and take back what was theirs to begin with. Each version gently touches,
as well, the emphasis that these Muslims came and took over the land that Jesus is
buried and where he was also born and that is why these Christian men should fight
for it. I also believe that all five of the versions of this speech talk about the Muslims
in a callous way. Along with a reward that anyone who were to die from land, sea, or
battle was the promise of eternal life in
Greek Tragedy By Euripides Medea
Discuss the ways Greek tragedy authors addressed such topics as duty, honor,
kingship, gender roles, and the other. Greek tragedy authors tend to use their
writings as a means of social, political, and religious commentary. Both of the
authors we read of, use their characters and the storyline development to test their
reader s moral boundaries. On the one hand, Euripides Medea emphasizes Greek
thoughts concerning foreigners, and denounces Athenian social bases through his
character s traits and actions. First of all, from a Greeks point of view, Medea is the
ultimate model of foreigners lack of moral bounds. Yet she is also a character that

Sophocles depicts his characters in a certain matter in order to provoke his
audience in contemplating the idea of freedom. Is Creon free because he is a king
and has the ability to do whatever he pleases? Or is he bound by civic duty to his
people, and the pressure and need to be loved by them? Moreover, is Antigone
free, because she follows her own thoughts and beliefs despite her uncle s
authority? Or is she bound by her emotions and passion, which challenge the purity
of her intentions? How does Herodotus characterize the Persians? Does his view
change throughout the text or is he consistent? What kinds of traits and
characteristics does he focus on and why? What do they have in common with
Greeks and where do they differ? When reading what Herodotus wrote about the
Persians, a basic fact cannot be overlooked; Herodotus wrote for Greek Elites, and
therefore made choices of what to write about in order to appeal to his listeners.
He mostly chose to specifically talk about important Persian kings, who, in his own
way, used as a means to disguise his own thoughts. Herodotus used the Persians to
portray two of his major themes. First of all, the theme of Timocracy versus
Plutocracy. By way of his choice of kings to talk about, Herodotus makes it clear that
he believes Timocracy is the most favorable way of ascending a thrown. He admires
Persian lineage and denounces Athenian monetary manipulations. He sees Persian

How Did The Great Leap Forward Have An Impact On
Chinese...
The Communist fervor that gripped mainland China under Mao Zedong s rule had
lasting effects on the economy and culture. In particular, the Great Leap Forward and
the Cultural Revolution devastated rural and peasant populations, leading to fatal
consequences for a large portion of the chinese demographic. The Great Leap Forward
was an attempt at socializing the chinese economy almost ten years after the People s
Republic of Chinawas established in 1949. Property and businesses were stripped
from private owners by the government and given to community leaders to run with
the help of community members. Unfortunately, revolutionary passion blinded
community leaders and the government. The former over reported food production
while the latter continued to support a failing economic structure and policy. This
lead to the Great Chinese Famine, and a decline in economic productivity and
revolutionary zeal. The Great Cultural Revolutionwas meant to reinvigorate the
revolutionary spirit. Launched several years after the failure of the Great Leap
Forward, the Cultural Revolution targeted the youth. A successful propaganda
campaign mobilized groups of mostly disadvantaged youth (red guards) and the
working class to purge those antithetical to the movement. Millions were killed in the
resulting class warfare which targeted capitalists, rightists, and landlords. The effects
of these influential events are still explored in modern chinese cinema many years
after their occurrence. An
Cyber-Terrorism Essay
Cyber Terrorism Cyber Terrorism is a reality in the modern age of rapid
technological advancement. As fast as new technology is established, people find
ways to hack and corrupt it. Many times there is malicious intent behind such
actions. These acts can include everything from computer viruses to contraband
network servers to pirated IP addresses and credit account fraud. All of the stories
we hear and those annoying emails that warn of a multitude of viruses can lull us

Such a virus could go undetected for hours, days or months as it worked its way

Massive destruction both physical and theoretic could easily occur and quite
frankly September 11th could be seen as precursor to the uniform and grave

international espionage and would be a drastic move from the normal programs

Billy The Kid Copland
Copland Billy The Kid
Copland s Billy The Kid features several similarities to the excerpt we studied from
Appalachian Spring. The simplicity of the piece represents the easiest to see of these
comparable aspects. Appalachian Spring does not contain much complex polyphony,
noticeably dissonant chords, or atonality. Instead, Copland creates a simple, pastoral
kind of music. Examples of this can be found throughout the piece, but the section
from 01:00 01:30 can be used as a representative sample. In fact, Copland wanted
this piece of Appalachian Spring to have a folksy air about it, and he achieves it by

I Am After The Nuclear Incident
Losing a family and everything a person every had, is a horrible experience.
Losing hope and not having a reason to live daunts you. According to Sakue, there
are two kinds of courage the courage to live and the courage to die. First, the
courage to live. I believe that the courage to live after the nuclear incident is
extremely hard. Merely a strong person is capable of facing the fear. Courage to
live is not giving up on life, but showing you still have a hope of finding something
else to live upon. You stay strong and show others, the people who let you down,
of how strong you are. People who the courage to live are not running away from
their problem, but rather fighting through it. Second, the courage to die, people
who have the courage to die are strong enough to let go and never face it every
again. They chose to die because they don t have anything to look after for. It is not
that they choose to hide away but they chose not to face the terrible obstacles in
life. For instance, when someone is on life support and their family has chosen to
get them off the life support; it is not because the person is weak, but that they have
no other option. That person is bearing through a lot of pain and letting go of them
would be the only best option there is to lessen the pain.
Katsuji, Yoshida, the man who was the victim of Hiroshima and Nagasaki s nuclear
weapon attack was going through a difficult phase. Even when it was not his fault, he
was being treated differently; he
90 Tickets Of Instant Noodles Character Analysis
The novel 90 Packets of Instant Noodles, written by Deb Fitzpatrick. The novel
involves the act of growing up and a twist of adventure. It is about a boy named Joel
who gets sent off to solitary confinement as punishment for a crime that has been
committed. Through the book we examine how each character faces an internal
struggle or moral dilemma within themselves. The characterJoel faces moral
dilemmas of friendship, guilt and not doing the right thing. In the novel, we also
notice Joel s father face internal struggles which involve his son being such a
troublemaker because of the father son relationship they have. Lastly, we witness
Joel s best mate Craggs, who faces the internal struggles of familyand not being
loved. All of the characters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Craggs displays the internal struggle of family through direct characterisation. On
pages 89 90 you read Joel thinking about Craggs s family problems. From page 90
you notice how as all the shouting an anger coming from inside is being made an
all Craggs does is keep his little sister Hannah safe and reassuring her everything
will be okay. This shows us a more soft, sensitive side of Craggs. Craggs doesn t
have a stable home lifestyle from indirect characterisation which represents the
way he acts out, in order to gain his parents attention, instead of always fighting
with each other. On page 157 Craggs say to Joel in the letter I had to lie on my
release conditions and say I d be living with the old s (as if that would ever help
me), this signifies how Craggs thinks his parents don t care about him. Another
struggle Craggs face is the fear of not being loved. Craggs doesn t have any
affection from anyone besides his sister and Joel. He fears that he want ever be
loved. In the text we read how Craggs only friend is Joel and how Joel is the person
Craggs can be honest and loyal too. But after the whole incident Craggs fear he has a
lost that sense of affection. All of his internal struggles associated in the novel are
presented throughout the whole
Just in Time Distribution Essay
Just In Time Distribution and Barilla SpA
Anybody who knows something about business had heard the term Just in time (JIT)
inventory. It involves producing only what is need, when it is needed. The principle
of Just in time is to eliminate sources of manufacturing waste by getting the right
quantity of raw materials and producing the right quantity of products in the right
place at the right time.(1) In this way, manufactures receive parts and materials just in
time to meet the day s manufacturing quota with hardly any extra.(3)
JIT is a manufacturing management method developed in Japan during the 70 s to
meet customer demands. The individual most credited with the ... Show more content

One study showed that the average benefits accrued by US manufactures over 5 years
from using the JIT system were extraordinary. There was 90 percent reduction in the
manufacturing cycle time, 70 percent reductions in inventory, 50 percent reductions in
labor costs, and 80 percent reductions in space requirements.(2) All these benefits
affect the channel relationship in some way and will benefit the end user, whether it s
the cost of the product or the quality.
Now that I ve given a little overview on the JIT system, I want to talk about a new
concept that a company called Barilla SpA wanted to try called, Just in time
Distribution (JITD). But before I talk about JITD I want to tell you a little about the
company.
Barilla SpA was founded in 1875 when Pietro Barilla opened a small shop in
Parma, Italy. Connected to the shop was a small laboratory that Pietro used to make
the pasta and bread products that he sold in his store. Eventually over the years, the
company grew and was handed over to Pietro s grandchildren, Pietro and Gianni.
Over this time, Barilla evolved from the small
The Life of Patricia Roberts Harris
Patricia Roberts Harris was born on May 31,1924 and died of breast cancer on
March 23,1985. Harris did a lot in her 60 years of living. She was the first African
American woman to hold a position in Cabinet, serve as an Ambassador, and head a
law school. Harris fought hard for fair housing and employment under the Carter
Administration as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Harris grew up in a Single parent home. Her performance at her high school in
Chicago earned her many scholarships. She went to Howard University in
Washington D.C. Attending Howard she was exposed to segregation and racial
inequality. As she was in Howard she became apart of the National Association for
the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP) where she participated in her first sit
in(in 1943) to force D.C to end segregation. In 1945 she grated Howard with honors
and continued to go further in her education at University of Chicago where she
studied industrial relations. After finishing her two year study at University of
Chicago,(with her husbands encouragement) she went to George Washington
University to study law. A year after graduating at the top of her class, she went back
to Howard as an associate dean of student and lecture.
She was then appointed by John F. Kennedy to co chair the National Women s
Committee for Civil Rights. In 1965 she was appointed ambassador to Luxembourg
by Lyndon B. Johnson. She held that position for two years then returned to teaching
at Howard. In 1969
Killington Research Paper
What s Killington ?
The small campus is surrounded by huge mountains that seemed to be covered in
snow trails that moved in organized squiggles. The mountains behind the campus
contained natural ski terrains that was astonishing. Something you would only see
in a winter sports magazine. Arriving on the campus is not much of a jaw dropper
but entering the Killington Campus was. They had new furniture and a cozy
fireplace that gave it a cabin like atmosphere. You were greeted by everyone who
you came in contact with and everyone had a warm smile. But one who stuck out the
most was Jennifer Lewis.
Jennifer Lewis is the President of the Killington Campus of Green Mountain College

Ism Witch History
Despite al DawДЃnД«qД« s threat, al б№ўДЃdiq designated his son, IsmaКїil, as his
successor and imam. However, al DawДЃnД«qД« s persecution, threat, and
frustration brought a new twist to the life and history of ShД«Кїa communities. The
key twist in this part of the ShД«Кїa history is the issue of IsmДЃКїД«l s imamate
and occultation. Historical accounts vary on IsmaКїil s death and life during al
б№ўДЃdiq s lifetime. While it is beyond the scope and focus of this paper to enter
into a debate on this matter, it suffices to state that the КїAbbДЃsid threat and
persecution caused the emergence of many splinter groups among al б№ўДЃdiq s
followers. Remaining with the Ismaili line of imamate, Ismaili communities firmly
believe in IsmДЃКїД«l s imamate and the continuation of... Show more content on

According to Ibn NadД«m s and Niбє“ДЃm al Mulk s accounts, al HallДЃj was the
first dДЃКїД« of JibДЃl in present day Iran (Ibn Nadim, 2002:352; Niбє“ДЃm al
Mulk, 1999:283 4). He might have been the first person who could have assumed an
official title of dДЃКїД«, but, as the presented analyses have demonstrated, he
certainly was not the first person who was involved in the Ismaili daКїwa in Persia.
GhiyДЃth fled to Khurasan around the end of the third/ninth and the beginning of the
fourth/tenth centuries, when a certain Sunni cleric, КїAbd AllДЃh al ZaКїfarДЃnД«,
incited public opinion against him (Niбє“ДЃm al Mulk, 1999:284). Al
ZaКїfarДЃnД« was the founder of the al ZaКїfarДЃniyya faction, one of the three
schools of NajjДЃriyya (al Barghawthiyya, Mustadrika, and al ZaКїfarДЃniyya), and
a follower of Ḥusaīn ibn Muḥammad al Najjār. He attacked Ghiyāth in
order to create a bigger space and fame for himself. Consequently, GhiyДЃth migrated
to Khurasan and settled in Marw al RЕ«d, in present day BДЃlДЃ MurghДЃb in
north western BДЃdghД«s province of Afghanistan, which is still populated with
many Hazara groups. GhiyДЃth s major achievement was the conversion of AmД«r
al бё¤usaД«n ibn КїAlД« al MarwarЕ«dД« or al MarwazД« (hereafter, al

What Is Failure In College
Failure can be both beneficial and adverse depending on how one accepts the results.
Through failure you are supposed to look at the positives and learn from the
outcome. Most of my intentions in life began with failure. My academic ambition
was ruptured by drastic failure that could of ruined my chances of getting accepted
into any college. Failure had taken over my life.
College has always been a dream for me. My mother started college during
highschool and my father was given a full ride to the University of Louisville.
Academics and Athletics were praised in my family. Starting freshman year I had to
greatest plan to make acceptable grades and out do every other female athletes in
the sports I participated in. For a while, it was a success. During my sophomore
year I began to question many aspects of my life. Like most teens, small problems
with my parents started to arise, only mine weren t small. My mother and I both
deeply suffered from our daily feuds with each other that eventually lead to a
mother daughter divorce. I moved out and in with my father. I thought being away
from my mother would bring some happiness, it only got worse. I missed her
entirely to much but I could never tell her nor apologize, my pride was vast. I
figured if she is my mother and she loved me why would I have to say anything. I

Everybody goes through hardships so that was no excuse for me to let it
determine how I was going to act. Comprehending this made me actually work on
myself. Not only did I let bring my grades up for the rest of that year, I stuck to not
letting my grades go below a 3.4. I don t let my personal problems over power my

Essay About Family Background.pdf

  • 1. Essay About Family Background Crafting an essay about one's family background might initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the intricacies of personal history often unveils unexpected challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the technical aspect of constructing coherent sentences and organizing thoughts but also in navigating the emotional landscape that accompanies such a reflective endeavor. To start, recounting the details of one's family background requires a careful balancing act between objectivity and subjectivity. The writer must maintain accuracy while interpreting the events and dynamics that have shaped their family over time. This introspective process can be both revealing and emotionally charged, requiring a delicate touch to articulate experiences without becoming overwhelmed by sentimentality. Moreover, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and stereotypes while presenting the uniqueness of one's family background. It demands a keen awareness of personal biases and a commitment to portraying a genuine, nuanced representation of the family's journey. Unearthing the significant events, traditions, and values that characterize the family without resorting to oversimplified narratives adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process. Additionally, there's the challenge of striking a balance between personal disclosure and respecting the privacy of family members. Not every detail may be suitable for public consumption, necessitating thoughtful consideration and perhaps selective omission to maintain a respectful portrayal. In conclusion, crafting an essay about family background is a multifaceted task that requires adept storytelling, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to authenticity. It's not merely a chronological recollection but a thoughtful exploration of the intricate web of relationships and experiences that have contributed to shaping an individual. While challenging, the process can be profoundly rewarding, offering insights into one's own identity and fostering a deeper understanding of familial bonds. For those seeking assistance with such reflective essays or any writing challenges, there are resources available. Services like HelpWriting.net provide avenues for obtaining professionally crafted essays tailored to specific requirements, ensuring a polished and well-articulated piece. • 3. Macbeth And Lady Macbeth In Shakespearian times the woman had no powerful roles, they did not write or act in plays. The roles were strictly played by men. Only men could have a high positioned job, and could hunt and other masculine things. This was true, however, in Macbeth written by William Shakespeare he portrays that both the men and the women in the play craved and have powerful roles, and desire ambition. Additionally, he shows how the roles of genderare flipped between Macbethand Lady Macbeth, and displays that Lady Macbeth wants control over Macbeth. In the play Lady Macbeth stands in for Macbeth s manliness throughout the text, and she was the brain of all his decisions. She desired to manipulate his decisions so it would work out in her favor, so she could have a higher position as queen. Although A Strange Infirmary authored by Jenijoy La belle asserts that the actions of a women in that time period were not looked at as manly actions, and women were incapable to have such manly cravings due to their physical setbacks characteristics, and in The Five Tragedies in Macbeth written by Miguel Bernad, he states that the roles of gender flip and the characteristics of each gender can be in either characters, and he shows the intense grip of Lady Macbeth s power over her husband. With these sources you can see, manly qualities and strive for power is not something that is held only within a physical man. Sex does not play a role for hunger for ambition. However, in these times women
  • 4. Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay Abstract The proliferation of Location Based Services (LBSs) and Geo Social Networks (GSNs) significantly increase the exposure risks of location information leading to leakage of sensitive information. Location privacy preserving methods are designed to provide a specified level of privacy based on some pre defined privacy guarantees such as k anonymity and e differential privacy. In certain situations, we note that users would need different privacy protection levels based on their relationships and trust associated with the users of the exposed location data. For instance, users of a location based social network may need a smaller privacy protection level in interaction with their close friends and a larger privacy protection level in relationship with public users. In this paper, we present a privacy aware access control model that provides different location privacy protection levels based on various access control list of users. The proposed privacy preserving access control model not only preserves the confidentiality of access control policy but also provides an efficient mechanism for grant and revoke of authorizations. I. INTRODUCTION The recent prevalent use of mobile devices and the availability of high resolution spatio temporal data sensing devices have popularized the use of Location Based Services (LBSs) and Location based Geosocial Networks (GSNs). These location based systems (e.g. Foursquare, Yelp, Google Latitude, and Facebook Places) provide services
  • 5. Apple Took Advantage Of The Great Recession Q1. Apple took advantage of The Great Recession (2007 2009) after many of its competitors had bankrupt or suffered from huge losses, causing an excessive of the amount of the unsold components that the manufacturers had produce. They could not find a market that can buy them, Apple sees that as an opportunity to buy those components, such as memory chips and LCDs, at lower prices and in most the time at cost, and use it as a competitive advantage in its manufacturing. Apple s management had predicted its margins to be shrieked for the next 5 years; as a cause of that recession that reshaped the market. The management took a fast and smart decision and they predict the market after they analyzed it and found out that they can make better future by using the low prices of the parts, rather than downsizing. Apple had adapted to the market change by developing the app revolution, where developers (most of them are apple s customers) can design and program their own apps and generate profits, which added about 300,000 jobs to the U.S. economy. They also provided app developers with the tools and distribution they need to bring their best ideas to tens of millions of its customers worldwide. Sharing their customers with developing their products build a strong and long relationship between them, and that s an long term adaptive to the future market where the customers are more involved and they value their services over the prices. Sophocles Impact On Today s Theatre Jamal Lewis Mrs. Krug Drama I September 3, 2014 Sophocles This is the role that sophocles played in shaping what is theatre today; what made him such a good playwright? Was it his Views on Religion? Did he differentiate himself on his opinion of women in his plays that of other playwrights of his time? Is he originally creative or just imitating other playwrights of his days? In this paper you will find the answers to all these questions and see the impact he has on today s theatre. Sophocles regarded the popular mythology/religion of that time as fiction rather than truth. He believes in the principals that the tales of the old Gods represent. Not today or yesterday were they created, but from all time, and no man knows when first they

Phil.) e mail: tiwari_sarita@rediffmail.com Abstract Business success may causes due to many factors, but the greatest determinant of the business success is the entrepreneur himself / herself. Therefore, the question of what makes a successful entrepreneur is very important. There have been many answers to this question. Some people think entrepreneurs are born, others that they are made. Some see entrepreneurs as passionate leaders with a vision that is totally focused on one objective, while others describe them as compulsive controller. Some says entrepreneurs are risk takers while others say they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... whether is it a nice book or not? Here a decorative cover page does not carry a long lasting impact on that persons mind. Therefore, personality includes both factors i.e. physical appearance and formidable foundation of good behavior and character. Physical appearance is that personality which creates first impression in front of others that s why it can be taken as the primary or outer personality of an individual, while foundation is considered as secondary or inner personality because it has second impact on others. It is not necessary that one should possess physical appearance because it is sometimes depends on the heredity factors of that person. It is inborn type of personality and sometimes depends on the luck factor too. If a person got good looks then it adds to his plus point. We should remember that a person s height, weight and complexion are not in his hand but he can take care to keep himself neat and clean to impress others. Thus, working on primary personality is necessary but only putting concentration on it is not sufficient. The best personality is based on the solid foundation of character. Good behavior and co operation makes a man popular. But this strong foundation is not an inborn quality of a person. It can be developed from one s childhood and has impact of family, family background, friends, working area, society, regions and experience etc. These factors also contribute in developing one s character and behavior.

However, that accident was not accidental, it was part of a larger plan and was going to happen whether he thought he could prevent it or not. During Dan s training to become a warrior Socrates often gave Dan advice that either did not make sense at the time or Dan did not take seriously. On a particular day as Dan was saying good bye to Socrates for a couple days when he told Socrates of his plans Socrates offered piece of advice that was frightening to him. • 9. Children Living Apart from Families in Totalitarian Societies In many real life and fictionalized totalitarian societies, children live apart from their families. Why would dictatorial leaders enforce this living arrangement? In the book Anthem, the children are living in a totalitarian society. This society is usually run by a dictator and there is very little or no freedom. In totalitarianism, the governmentor in this case the councils control almost every aspect of life. There is no free speech or freedom of the press; certain religions or ideas may be banned. We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever. This plays a great part in the book because we is what the people refer to as themselves. Everyone is equal to each other and there is no I . The councils in Anthem believe that no brother should ever rise above one another. No brother should outsmart the other. Knowledge is a powerful thing. In totalitarian societies children are taken away from their parents at very young ages, so they learn all the same things. All of the student s knowledge is kept at the same level. All the children know is only what the government teaches them. It was not that the learning was too hard for us. It was that the learning was too easy. It is not good to be different from our brothers, but is evil to be superior to them. This evidence from the book Anthem shows us that it is not a good thing to be smarter than the other student s. It is a sin. Dictators who want to restrain
  • 10. How Has Art Changed Throughout The Modern Time Modernity represented a time period of human belief in rationality that lasted from . A time period where everything was quantifiable and litteral. Artwork strived to be as visually realistic as possible and it s quality was based on such. It also included the idea that socially and politically, humans were advancing, and that they would act rationally to benefit themselves and act in line with whatever class they were in. And also that psychologically human beings are rational, and as such are potentially able to understand everything in the universe, including themselves, and eventually acquire infinite knowledge. Firstly artwork, during the modern period it s primary goal was to achieve the most real picture as possible. As the camera hadn t been invented yet and it was still the best method of capturing scenes. For example, Mr and Mrs Andrews painted in 1750 that portrayed a wealthy couple overlooking their land. Generally, I think Lanier County health department does contribute to the overall health of the community. They are efficient when a patient comes in to do a thorough assessment, not just physical, but asking about the patients home life and family. The number of people that have come to the health department to receive an influenza shot has represented a large portion of Lanier County residents. Hackers and intruders are getting smarter. There are various methods to protect the network infrastructure as well as communication over the internet, for example firewalls, encryption, and virtual private networks. Intrusion detectionis a comparatively new approach to such techniques. By using intrusion detection, we can collect and use information from acknowledged attacks and figure out if somebody is trying to attack the network/host. In this paper, we have classified different types of IDS. Also we have proposed a hybrid model for intrusion detection and prevention system for cloud infrastructure, which has improved the quality of detecting the unidentified attack via anomaly based detection along with a module which will try to diminish the number of false alarms which are generated by the system. Our proposed system finds random attacks in network and prevents these attacks automatically using the mechanism. Serial murder is defined as the murder of at least three victims accompanied with an intermittent cooling off period in between. Often during the cooling off period the serial killer fantasizes about his next potential victim and contrives a plan to enact said fantasy (Simons, 2001). The term serial killer was introduced into the English lexicon in the 1970 s and used to describe individuals who committed a series of murders under these pretenses. The typical age of onset for serial murder is usually in the mid to late twenties (Arndt, Hietpas, and Kim, 2004). It is difficult to determine when exactly Robert Pickton began his string of killing since much of his early life remains shrouded in mystery. The best way to examine the frequency of Pickton s murders and the duration of the cooling off period between them then, is to examine data of women reported missing from the Downtown Eastside area of Vancouver. Using this data, it can be reasonably assumed that Pickton began his murders (at least within the context of his general modus operandi) sometime in the late 1970 s or early 1980 s (The Pickton Trial, CBC.ca/news). Using the missing women data along with evidence found on the Pickton farm, it is seen that the murders increased in frequency with a much smaller cooling off period throughout the 1990 s and early 2000 s before his eventual arrest in 2002. Traumatizing events during childhood have been shown to be potential precursors to serial

  • 21. Determining The Ksp Value For Silver Acetate Essay Determining the Ksp value for silver acetate. Introduction: An equilibrium constant for a solid substance that is dissolving in an aqueous solution is represented by the solubility product constant, where the concentrations of different ions from the solid substance (compound) are used to calculate the solubility product constant. If the solubility product constant vale is high then the substance is very soluble in an aqueous solution. • 22. Effects Of Self Esteem On Self-Esteem ). Self esteem significantly affects the child s development in regulating their emotions to support healthy and positive interpersonal relationships. Children with high self esteem display higher confidence in self expression, giving and receiving love, development of judgment, and gain critical cognitive skills (Kostelnik et al., 2010). Moreover, children with low self esteemoften showcase negative emotional response, aggression, antisocial behavior, and a pessimistic outlook (Kostelnik et al., 2010). As confidence is stemmed from the sense of security that children feel from their caregivers; healthy parental efficacy plays a role in helping their child develop positive self esteem. The caregiver must provide an adequate amount of WAGER to provide a secure space for the child to learn, gain self awareness, and develop self regulating skills (Kostelnik et al., 2010). Therefore, the amount of WAGER and sensitive caregiving that a parent provides is correlated to the level of self esteem that the child develops. For example, when parents provide a sensitive nurturance, children are more likely to feel secure in their worth, competence, and control (Kostelnik et al., 2010). As social participants, children will project their self esteem when accepting or rejecting how others treat them (Kostelnik et al., 2010). As a result, the self esteem and self perception that children develop ultimately influences social interaction and interpersonal relationships (Kostelnik et al.,

In Sense and Sensibility, dramatic and theatrical elements played a major role in how the audience perceived the play and related it back to the theme of how people should follow their heart instead of the opinions of others. These elements combined allow for this theme to be shown throughout the play without being forced. This gives the audience a great opportunity to experience the world of the play in a deeper understanding. Taibi Magar uses these designs effectively to create an enjoyable performance with a deeper meaning that the audience can relate to. With lyrics such as If you like it then you should have put a ring on it fits the theme perfectly. This line means that if Edward and John liked Elinor and Marianne then they should have asked for their hand in marriage instead of fearing their family to disapprove of their marriage. When this song was played at the beginning the audience was given a sense of dramatic irony. The dramatic irony is that the audience now knew that the play would revolve around marriage that the characters did not know. After the play the audience could understand fully how the song correlates to the play. The song also helped bring a modern twist and create a happy mood that the audience could sing along to and interact with the play more. The set, designed by Peter Ksander, used few pieces of furniture and few changes with the backdrop to highlight the heart not needing money as a fuel for desire. Throughout the play the audience sees how Edward Ferrars (Rishan Dhamija) struggles internally on whether he should marry for power and wealth, or happiness. The audience experiences this when Edward Ferrars first speaks with Elinor Dashwood (Shanelle Nicole Leonard) the scene is kept simple and tidy with only a wooden table and a rug. One such example of the Alliance system would be Bismarck s Dual Alliance in 1879, Triple Alliance in 1882, and the Triple Entente in 1907. In 1878, Germany and Austria Hungary formed the Dual Alliance, in a bid to increase security. It was enlarged to the Triple Alliancewhen Italy joined in 1882. The Triple Alliance was a defensive military alliance where the signatories were required to provide military support to each other should one of them be engaged in a battle. The main parties involved in Bacon s Rebellion were complete opposites and oddly enough cousins by marriage. Governor Sir William Berkeley was a veteran of the English Civil Wars, a frontier Indian fighter, a Governor in the 1640 s, a playwright and scholar. Sir William Berkeleys reputation as Governor of Virginia was well respected. The other member involved was Nathaniel Bacon. Bacon was a known as a troublemaker and conspirator whose father sent him to Virginia with the hope that he would mature. Bacon was intelligent and moving and once Bacon arrived in Virginia, Berkeley treated him with respect and friendship. Berkeley granted him both substantial land grant and a seat on the council in 1675. The Virginia colony was experiencing economic problems, such as declining tobacco prices, growing commercial competition from Maryland and the Carolinas, a restricted English market, the rising prices from English manufactured goods, and disturbances made by the Indians. There were also English losses in the series of naval wars with the Dutch and there were numerous problems caused by weather. Storms and dry spells plagued the colony and had a damaging effect on the colonists which encouraged the colonists to find people they could vent their frustrations and place the blame for their misfortunes. For pleasure; for instruction; for the solace of seeing others in familiar dilemmas; for the opportunity to see what is unfamiliar, perhaps strange; for hope. These writers, in different ways, satisfy these requirements. (Becker). Not only does she raise incredible praise for these writers, she also gives us an opportunity to see how Mason s writing fits into the other writers of her time. She shows us what the purpose of the short story is in Mason s world, for hope (Becker). Mason in particular inspires this hope because although she is introducing her readers to the characters of rural Kentucky, change is something that, on some level, every reader can relate to and understand (Becker). This idea of understanding can even be compared and seen throughout the criticisms of character presentation by Michiko Kakutani, who has an appreciation for the way she lays out her characters to her audience, and the commentary by Robert Newman on how she relates to her readers through her characters. The way these two appreciate Bobbie Ann Mason s character development is the same way that Robin Becker appreciates how she presents the story itself to her

With the support of characterization and diction, O Flaherty describes the setting in a way that gives off depressing, suspenseful and pessimistic images; showing that war is an awful thing. The author dedicates the entire first paragraph to describe the setting and to illustrate the atmosphere of the story. For example, Dublin lay enveloped in darkness. The word darkness instantly creates a sense of insecurity and mystery in the readers minds and as well as a suspenseful atmosphere. Back then it was the parents who picked suitors for their daughters. This choice would be final for the daughters but often women rebelled against the decision as they wanted to choose their own suitors. Romeo and Juliet is an example of this. I agree when CoppГ©lia Kahn says The overt force Petruchio wields over Kate by marrying her against her will in the first place, and then by denying her every wish and comfort, stamping, shouting, reducing her to exhaustion, etc., is but a farcical representation of the psychological realities of marriage... as the audience would definitely find it funny and is a perfect example of Shakespeare s attempts to ridicule the sanctity of marriage. As Robert Heilman demonstrates, the taming is best viewed as farce which carries out our desire to simplify life by a selective anesthetizing of the whole person; man retains all his energy yet never really gets hurt and this is shown as the drama is a comedy of mocking the institution of marriage. Another negative outlook against marriage and courtship is when we find of Hortensio s plans to disguise himself as a schoolmaster well seen in music to instruct Bianca . Lucentio also disguises himself by swapping clothes and identities with Tranio so that he may woo Bianca secretly. In particular, the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution devastated rural and peasant populations, leading to fatal consequences for a large portion of the chinese demographic. The Great Leap Forward was an attempt at socializing the chinese economy almost ten years after the People s Republic of Chinawas established in 1949. Property and businesses were stripped from private owners by the government and given to community leaders to run with the help of community members. Unfortunately, revolutionary passion blinded community leaders and the government. • 42. Billy The Kid Copland Copland Billy The Kid Copland s Billy The Kid features several similarities to the excerpt we studied from Appalachian Spring. The simplicity of the piece represents the easiest to see of these comparable aspects. Appalachian Spring does not contain much complex polyphony, noticeably dissonant chords, or atonality. Instead, Copland creates a simple, pastoral kind of music. Examples of this can be found throughout the piece, but the section from 01:00 01:30 can be used as a representative sample. In fact, Copland wanted this piece of Appalachian Spring to have a folksy air about it, and he achieves it by the simplicity of his music. Billy The Kid is also a fairly simple piece. According to Sakue, there are two kinds of courage the courage to live and the courage to die. First, the courage to live. I believe that the courage to live after the nuclear incident is extremely hard. Merely a strong person is capable of facing the fear. Courage to live is not giving up on life, but showing you still have a hope of finding something else to live upon. You stay strong and show others, the people who let you down, of how strong you are. People who the courage to live are not running away from their problem, but rather fighting through it. Second, the courage to die, people who have the courage to die are strong enough to let go and never face it every again. They chose to die because they don t have anything to look after for. It is not that they choose to hide away but they chose not to face the terrible obstacles in life. For instance, when someone is on life support and their family has chosen to get them off the life support; it is not because the person is weak, but that they have no other option. That person is bearing through a lot of pain and letting go of them would be the only best option there is to lessen the pain. Katsuji, Yoshida, the man who was the victim of Hiroshima and Nagasaki s nuclear weapon attack was going through a difficult phase. Even when it was not his fault, he was being treated differently; he

Craggs displays the internal struggle of family through direct characterisation. On pages 89 90 you read Joel thinking about Craggs s family problems. From page 90 you notice how as all the shouting an anger coming from inside is being made an all Craggs does is keep his little sister Hannah safe and reassuring her everything will be okay. This shows us a more soft, sensitive side of Craggs. Craggs doesn t have a stable home lifestyle from indirect characterisation which represents the way he acts out, in order to gain his parents attention, instead of always fighting with each other. On page 157 Craggs say to Joel in the letter I had to lie on my release conditions and say I d be living with the old s (as if that would ever help me), this signifies how Craggs thinks his parents don t care about him. Another struggle Craggs face is the fear of not being loved. Craggs doesn t have any affection from anyone besides his sister and Joel. He fears that he want ever be loved. However, al DawДЃnД«qД« s persecution, threat, and frustration brought a new twist to the life and history of ShД«Кїa communities.
