Essay On Segregation
Crafting an essay on the topic of segregation is a challenging endeavor that requires a thoughtful
exploration of historical contexts, social implications, and the intricate dynamics that surround
this deeply rooted societal issue. The complexity arises not only from the need to delve into the
historical aspects of segregation but also to critically analyze its ongoing impacts on various
communities.
To begin with, researching the historical roots of segregation demands a meticulous examination
of events, policies, and the evolution of societal attitudes. Understanding the nuances of how
segregation has manifested in different periods and regions is crucial for presenting a
comprehensive and accurate picture. This process involves sifting through historical documents,
scholarly articles, and firsthand accounts to gain a nuanced perspective on the subject.
Moreover, addressing the social implications of segregation requires a keen awareness of its
multifaceted effects on individuals and communities. Exploring the psychological, economic,
and educational ramifications of segregation adds layers of complexity to the essay. Articulating
these consequences in a coherent and impactful manner demands a deep understanding of
sociological theories and empirical studies.
Additionally, navigating through the sensitivities and controversies surrounding the topic is a
delicate task. Balancing objectivity with empathy, especially when discussing the experiences of
marginalized communities, requires a careful choice of language and framing. It is essential to
avoid perpetuating stereotypes or oversimplifying the complex issues at hand.
The essay must not only provide a historical and sociological analysis but also offer insights into
potential solutions or avenues for progress. Proposing viable strategies to address and mitigate
the lingering effects of segregation requires a thorough understanding of current societal
structures and policies.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on segregation is a formidable task that demands rigorous
research, sensitivity, and critical thinking. It necessitates a deep dive into historical archives, an
understanding of sociological theories, and a thoughtful examination of the ongoing impact on
communities. Success in tackling this complex subject lies in presenting a well-rounded, nuanced
perspective that goes beyond mere narration to contribute to the broader conversation on societal
progress.

Osama Bin Laden As The Political Figure For My Project
I chose Osama Bin Laden as the political figure for my project because I have
always wanted to see the unbiased side of his story and that s exactly what I got
from Michael Scheuer. People all over the world saw Osama has the face of
terrorism. People have to look past the mass murderer, terrorist, and at times the
most wanted man in the world. You have to look at him as the intelligent person
that he was. Osama for two decades was allowed to rebel, conducting a private
guerilla war against America. His goals were to get American troops out of Saudi
Arabia, to preserve the religious integrity of the Hijaz, and to punish America for
supporting Israel and hope that Israel could cease to exist and its Jews scrubbed
from the Holy Land. The greatest impact Bin Laden had on America were the
attacks on 9/11 which was when he and Al Qaeda successfully hijacked four
commercial aircrafts, two crashed into the World Trade Center (Twin Towers). The
third crashed into the pentagon in Arlington Virginia, and the fourth was
successfully retaken by the passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The
people of America wanted to know what could cause someone to do these gruesome
acts. Michael Scheuer really helped show his childhood. Osama wasn t always a
terrorist, he was a innocent child. He was an outstanding student at Al Thagher.
Correspondingly, he received an invitation to join a islamic study group in hope to
receive extra credit. He and other Jedda family members joined
The Tragic Heroes Of Hamlet And Oedipus
The Tragic Heroes Hamlet and Oedipus
A hero in a drama is the focus point throughout the story, someone who technically
saves life s and carries pride within them. In Hamlet by Shakespeare and Oedipus
Rex by Sophocles they simply create a tragic hero due to their stories having a twist
in what a hero turns out to be at the end of the dramatic stories. They have similar
issues as well as they have their differences in their stories. Shakespeare and
Sophocles create a similar touch to their dramatic heroes, and not only do they write
those type of stories but they also create different characteristics to them and defining
them in other ways that can be entertaining. Even though in both Hamlet, and Oedipus
contain tragic endings, both main characters were viewed as heroes at one point in
the story, however the authors did not create a same character each main character
has their own characteristics and each author had their way of writing a drama.
Shakespeare and Sophocles wrote different things and as well as Shakespeare is
known for his poems, he is also known for his dramatic stories with a tragic ending.
Hamlet, the son of a king, happens to lose his father while in a short amount of time

When it comes to purchasing a new HVAC system there are so many things to
consider. Cost is the biggest pill to swallow whether you are considering replacing
an old, out dated system or been told you need a new unit. New HVAC units run
upwards in the thousands, not counting the installation costs and over the course of
its life, the upkeep and filter costs. To help make the pill easier to swallow I am
going to go over some of the top HVACbrands in America based on efficiency,
warranties, and cost effectiveness over the course of its life. Keep in mind the top
brands offer modulating technology. If this sounds foreign to you, here s a quick
breakdown: In years past units either ran at low capacity (65% of full capacity) or
high (100% of capacity) with nothing in between. With modulating technology, units

Personal Statement Of Environmentalism In An Equivalent
To...
In my opinion Environmentalism in many ways is equivalent to Feminism . Both
the subjects have been overlooked in the past by policy makers and corporations,
have suffered injustice and are fighting for their rights. Just as the world cannot
progress entirely and achieve its true potential by leaving one gender behind, in
the same way we cannot achieve sustainable development by ignoring our
environment. As a young kid I didn t know what I and billion other Indians were
missing in life until I visited Singapore. I was awe struck by the efficient public
transport, less reliance on private cars for movement, vertical development,
cleanliness and high quality of life. One of the starkest differences that I noticed
was how I could not tell the rich from the poor which is so evident in India. Other
thing that I observed was how the entire city was connected seamlessly. Print media
and internet have been a great influence in my life since my childhood. Since
childhood my habit of reading newspaper and magazines have widened my world

Over the last decade, the way we perceive computer networks in the world has
drastically changed because of things such as remote access, web based
applications and wireless devices. Additionally, businesses networks around the
world can be accessible virtually anytime from anywhere through assets such as
Cloud Computing or virtual private networking (VPN). Today s technology has
been the savior to some of the world s biggest problems in education, agriculture,
transportation, Health Care and many more avenues and the main reason is because
of the expansion and diversity of the Wide Area Network (WAN) networks. Wide
Area Network (WAN) technologies has provide many ways to accelerate and
optimizing business processes and procedures through Point to Point topology,
Packet Switched, and Circuit Switched WAN protocols, circuits and types. The
assortments of available WAN services and its costs usually depends on the
geographical region and the available provider. A WAN is comprised of several
computer networks linked together usually through or over the Internet and it s used
to connect other types of networks for businesses, campuses or government together
such as Local Area Network (LAN) and its rudimentary equipment are a station and a
node. (White, 2016)

What Was Jfk Assassination
Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names. The weather that day was that
is was 52 degrees with some wind. The wind was 15 mph just like when we had
that huge rain and wind storm. JFK could see 15 miles before he wouldn t be able to
see anything.
Where and When JFK was the 35th president at the time when he got shot by Lee
Harvey Oswald. The place that he got shot was called the Dealey Plaza in Dallas,
Texas. It was just a normal day and JFK was driving with his wife Jacqueline in an
open top convertible. JFK was driving and then all of a sudden, everyone saw a
gun shot by Oswald. This all had happened on Friday November 22, in the year of
1963. There was also this guy named Shea standing with his mother Hannah, holding
their ice cream from the Dealey Plaza. Their ice cream was starting to melt because
they had gotten their ice cream at 11:15 AM.
Year born and died JFK was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts and
Oswald was born on October 18th, 1939 in New Orleans, Louisiana. JFK and
everyone that was watching him drive down town in his convertible with his wife.

That death had marked the most recent assassination of an American president and
that was the worst death of all presidents. After JFK died, the president was Lyndon
B. Johnson because he was the vice president. I bet that he was happy because it has
been a long time since the vice president was president. The only reason why JFK
was shot because of a secret plan that he had kept between someone and they
thought that it was going to be harmful against other people and he did all of this
when he was only 46 years old. Shea and his mom saw JFK and Jacqueline coming
down the street in their convertible. Shea yelled, Mom, why are they driving a

Psychological Profile of a Killer
During the last decade the world has witnessed a staggering elevation in serial
killings. To give some insight into the scale of the problem posed by the serial
killer, in the United States can be gained from examining the statistics for just one
year. In 1989 (the last year for which detailed figures are available) there were
21,500 recorded homicides, of which some 5,000 are unsolved. Unofficial sources
believe that as many as a hundred serial killers may be at large at any given time.
Add to this the number of known victims of serial killers, then between 3,500 and
5,000 people are killed by serial murderers every year. (Lane and Gregg 3) These
numerous multiple murders, often without consequence and justice, have shocked
civilized... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Visionaries include killers who act in response to voices and alter egos, where
instructions received serve to justify and legitimize the act of murder. David
Berkowitz better known as the Son Of Sam is an example of a visionary who
claimed that his delusional persecutions by demons were responsible for the
shootings and killings of his 17 victims. I am the demon from the bottomless pit
here on earth to create havoc and terror. I am War, I am death. I am destruction
(Elliot and Leyton 151)! Missionaries are comprised of killers with a self imposed
nature, which feel responsible for purifying society by expelling its undesirable
components. Peter Sutcliffe better known as the Yorkshire Ripper justified his
slaying of 20 women with a warped perception that any woman out after dark must
be a prostitute and should be eliminated in order to clean up the world. A hedonist,
a complex category where pleasure is the reward for murder, contains three sub
types. The first sub type, lust killers, is probably the largest sub section of serial
killers for whom sexual gratification is the primary motivation and whose crimes
most frequently exhibit a considerable element of sadism. Two examples of lust
killers are Jerry Brudos and Douglas Clark. Jerry Brudos kept the foot of one of his
victims in the deep freeze to periodically take out and dress up with his collection of
black stiletto heeled women s shoes. Douglas Clark kept a victim s head, which he

Ethical Issues In College Sports
Throughout the history of college sports, athletes have been viewed as student
athletes. However, in the last two decades, universities have placed an emphasis on
athletes and the sports they play, rather than their education and well being. School
has not been coming first, and this has caused a struggle for athletes to become
eligible to make grades. For example, the Universityof North Carolina had paper
classes where the football players would get credits, but did not need to show up for
class; they only had to complete one paper and most got A s or B s.
Throughout the film, many stereotypes were presented and highlighted to make the
athletes look like something they were not. The film mentioned that C s get degrees,
which degrades those who play college sports by saying that athletes do not try in
school are uneducated. However, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He was the player on the team that the coaches never had to worry about him

containing a rough draft of an essay, to a tutor for help. Years later, this email came
to haunt him. Devon Ramsay s actions were declared academic fraud and this led the
NCAA to believe that the University and Ramsey were unethical. This reveals the
theme of totality of control, as athletes are controlled by rules, so they do not commit
any NCAA violations. Since athletes are restricted by rules and regulation, this begs
the questions if athletes are amateurs or servants to the university. There is a major
different between Amateurism and Servitude in college sports. Amateurism is playing

Iraqi Culture Essay
Iraq To understand Iraq s culture you first need to understand its long, tragic history
that started at a time when the country was part of a larger Mesopotamia.
Conquerors came to power and fell numerous times at the edge of a sword for
thousands of years. More recently, Iraq has seen continued fighting and killing at the
hand of a dictator and numerous extremists. The United States, with the support of
many coalition forces, has tried to end all of these travesties and allow this country
to become a free, democratic state. As anticipated, the United States decided that they
had done all they needed to in Iraqand in 2013 pulled its troops out. Iraq s new
leaders now have control of their own country but corruption and terrorism remain.
If Iraq cannot come together as one, there will never be stability. Iraqi s still to this
day recall a time when their country was regarded as the cradle of civilizations .
(Raphaeli 34) Many believe that they are direct descendants of Sumerians,
Babylonians, and Assyrians and take great pride in that. Their ancient heritage was
once about peace and prosperity, but that would be short lived. Modern Iraqi culture
has been plagued by violence and tribalism that some could say stemmed from the
many years of corruption.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subsequently, this would be the start of the immense corruption and violence within
the country. Iraq recorded another first in the region in 1958. General Abd al Karim
Qasim carried out another military coup which would culminate in the execution of
the head of state. Soon after that Qasim would find himself at the other end of the
spectrum and be the target in someone else s plot to over throw a leader. In 1979,
vice president Saddam Hussein deposed the president, General Ahmad Hassan al
Bakr, who subsequently died from apparent poisoning. (Raphaeli

A Successful Reintegration Of A Rehabilitated Offender
This essay will explore the factors that take a key play in a successful Reintegration
of a rehabilitated offender. To have a successful reentry the offender is offered thru
their Correctional Facility the following: Employment, Family Support, Financial
Stability, Involvement in substance abuse programs, and Stabilization of any mental
illness. Through discussion I will explain the pros and cons those rehabilitated face
when re entering society.
Reintegration is offered to those individuals who are offered Parole. As we all know
Parole is the conditional release of a person prior to the end of the maximum
sentence impose ( Parole | Define Parole at Dictionary.com, n.d.). The parole
system is used to reward well behaved inmates who shows signs of rehabilitation,
and for those who show signs that they can practice good behavior when socializing
and interacting out in society. To achieve parole status you can involve yourself in
programs offered by institution where you are serving out your time. Such programs
include obtaining a GED, being of trustee status which means you are an inmate that
shows capability of cleaning up after others; your peers. In order for Parolees to have
a successful integration On April 9, 2008, the Second Chance Act was signed into

The Judgment of Paris and The Miracle of the Fishes
Artwork
How often do we see things in life that require a double take, a second glance, a
follow up look, or even multiple subsequent studies? The answer is quite simple:
everyday. The things we often look at a second time are often not intellectually
worth the look, whether it be an irrational teenager attempting some outrageous
skateboarding stunt, a monkey drinking its own urine, or even a two headed cat,
people have stopped spending their second or third glances on things that are
meaningful and sensible. As a result people have lost the appreciation of evaluating
and scrutinizing art and often don t think of looking at it a second or third time to
really look at it. Sure people go to museums and galleries, but nowadays, how many

In the first painting, Paris is giving the gift of the Golden Apple to the Goddess
Aphrodite for her stunning and blinding beauty; whereas in the second painting
Jesus is giving the gift of food to the famished fishermen, who up until then had no
food for themselves. This theme is always seen in many different ways due to the
fact that the range of gifts is vast and can contain a plethora of different types of
things. Despite having the same theme and basic ideas, the paintings differ in the
motives for the gift giving. In The Judgment of Paris, Paris gives the Golden Apple
to Aphrodite partially because it was commanded of him by Zeus and partially
because of his personal gain. Contrary to that idea of gift giving to raise the already
magnificent even higher, is the idea of Jesus selfless contribution to those in need.
The two paintings also have one major difference; their styles differ in that the first
has very prominent and refined looking characters and the second has more
moderate and somewhat petty ones. In The Miracle of the Fishes the focus is on the
modesty of the fisherman, whereas, in The Judgment of Paris the characters the
goddesses especially appear dignified and distinguished. In both of these paintings
Jordaens uses aspects that are inherent in the majority of his works. He incorporates
two well known details; the anatomy of human bodies men appear robust, hardy and
strong, while the
Guns And Gun Rights
Gun rights have been an issue and a hot topic in United States for quite some time,
recently assault rifles have been apart of that conversation. This issue has many
different opinions depending on the people you ask some people believe they
should be able to possess an assault rifle while some believe that they should be
limited, banned, or both. The last big push to halt manufacturing of these was the
1994 Assault Weapons Ban, this was supposed to prevent production of these
weapons but vague and unclear While guns are our second amendment right, assault
rifles are to deadly and accurate for the average person to handling as these weapons
are made to be used for military purposes not hunting or sporting.
Shootings in the United States have rose and assault rifles are not helping those
numbers go down. Out of the the top 4 deadliest shootings in United States history 3
of the shooters have used assault rifles in their attacks totaling 134 deaths including
children. While some think otherwise these numbers do not constitute owning an
assault rifle for the fun of owning one. Assault rifle bans have proven to work by
taking these weapons out of civilians hands The percent of weapons seized by
Virginia police that were high capacity fell from 16 to 9 percent. In the years after
the ban expired, the percent of high capacity seizures rose rapidly to 20 percent by
2010 ( Christopher Ingraham). These number help to prove that assault rifle bans
have done good to prevent these

the power of Napoleon allowing him to become the leader after Rebellion.
Napoleon is unsatisfied of any ideas rooted from Snowball, brings out his specially

Misogynist Vs Woman
WHY WOMEN SHOULDN T BE IN THE MILITARY
Is it misogynistic to believe that, in this day and age, women should not be allowed
to do the same job as a man? No, unequivocally and resoundingly no. The simplest
way to state this view is by making sure that everyone knows that men and women are
in fact different. They are different in muscle mass, in mindset, and chemically. Men
are built for war and fighting, women are built for child birth and nurturing. The sexes
view most things in life differently, so why would anybody think that there should be
equality in something that is by nature masculine? Make no mistake, the military has
but one single purpose and that is to fight the battles that writings and speeches can t
win.
Can we have equality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unit readiness is the way a unit is scored on its ability to be mission ready. This
can be affected by sickness / illness / ailments levels among troops. As long as
women menstruate, they will always have more ailments than their male
counterparts. Women are also far more likely to get a urinary tract infection, which
can quickly become a kidney infection and require immediate medical care. This
would remove someone from the fighting force due to an issue completely unrelated
to the fight. Planned and unplanned pregnancies can also affect the ability of the unit
to complete a mission or deploy. Now, if you think about the unit being deployed in a
combat zone and having a combat mission, what is the military supposed to do
when one of the female members becomes pregnant? It costs approximately a
million dollars per individual to get trained through boot camp and to be made
ready for deployment (Eden, 2013). Waste like this should just not be allowed.
Furthermore, how is it fair, since we are talking about equality, that the mother gets
sent back home to have the child while the father has to stay in the combat zone?
There are also the unit numbers to think about. For every female that has to return
home that is one less soldier on the battlefield that can t be instantly replaced. This
makes the force in a combat theater weaker and more susceptible to injury or death.
Neither one of these is fair to the male soldiers who must
Research Paper On The Battle Of Bennington
The landmark I chose was the battle of Bennington, the Bennington battle was a
battle of the American revolutionary and was part of the Saratoga campaign, that
took place on August 16, 1777 in Walloomsac Ny 10 miles away from Bennington .
Every year on August 16, they celebrate and honor the battle of Bennington. During
this battle Brigadier General John stark and his troops defeated two detachments of
British General John Burgoyne s invading army. The Germans had around 650
soldiers while the Americans had 2000 soldiers. That s a big difference. But The
German infantry wore blue coats and retained the Prussian style grenadier mitre with
brass front plate. The Brunswick dragoons wore light blue coats, cocked hats and
thigh length boots.
Resilience Across Lifespan
Resilience across a lifespan can happen different ways from physical development to
cognitive development. We also have social and emotional development. Throughout
this paper resilience will be applied to all of the above mentioned concepts.
Resilience across a lifespan is described through theories, measures, and even
personality characteristics. Resiliencehas also been applied to the impacts of
disasters and traumatic experiences in which will also be touched on throughout
this paper. Resilience is described as the process of adapting well in the face of
adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress (American
Psychological Association, 2016). Resilience is an ordinary thing in human
beings. It is often described as bouncing back, which refers to bouncing back from
difficult times or situations. As a person grows older resilience grows as well. A
person s past can most certainly affect how a person uses resiliency in the present.
If a person is not affected negatively a lot in their past when it comes time for a
person to bounce back, they will not bounce back as smoothly as a person who has
had a very traumatic past and has learned how to bounce back in a smoother
fashion. A person s past determines their resiliency in the present and a person s
present determines their resiliency efforts in the future. Resiliency is different for
each and every person. Resiliency also can grow with a person or can dissipate

sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt content in absolute values and as a percentage of
daily intake. These are reported per serving and as a proportion of a healthy diet,
the most important piece of information needed to control weight. Additionally, no

Stances In Research Paper
Stance and Genre in Our Writing
As writers, we must understand that the stance and genre of our writing correlates to
the audience of the writing. Believe it or not, the audience can surely impact the
stance and genre of which will ultimately influence how the writer computes their
writing. It is quite common that a writer will distribute their stance in nearly all
writings. The easiest to identify and differ stances are those that are indifferent and
those that glorifies passionate stances. On the other hand, the genre in our writing is
in direct relationship with the audience of the writing. How we purpose our message
to certain audience is greatly influenced on who that actual audience is. First and
foremost, the difference between indifferent

Conservatives, have increased in comparison to the differences between them.
Traditionally, the parties were dissimilar in ideology and policy, however now they

policies. Also, whilst both parties are somewhat internally divided, the Conservatives
are more so than Labour in terms of the issue due to Brexit. Brexit continues to
provide divisions within the Conservative party. Furthermore, the parties share few
similarities in the way they elect their leader and form policies, with the Labour party

Over The Rainbow Analysis
Over the Rainbow, or popularly known as Somewhere over the Rainbow is a
poignant ballad expressing a deep longing and hope of an escape from the worldly
troubles. The song was originally written for the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz,
with its music created by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Yip Harburg. It won the Best
Original Song in the Academy Awards on the same year. Over the Rainbow
is one of
the greatest American standards of the 20th century, a cultural gem significant for
preservation. The song also ranked first in the Songs of the Century List, the result
of a survey of America s musical and cultural heritage. Since then, many covers had
been recorded by artists who had their own unique interpretation of the musical
piece. Judy Garland s rendition of the song reminds me of my dad s collection of
1940s records. She sings in a soft, melodic voice reflective of the musical style in
that era. The tempo is slow, the vocals are more emphasized than the orchestra s
instrumentation. Garland s original version of the song is best remembered because
of her role as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz. In the movie, she sang about the
place where she won t get into trouble. The song captured the hearts of the audience
since it was a symbolic piece where many individuals can relate to. The dreams of
the ideal and the hope of a brighter future was evident in the song. Somehow, Over
the Rainbow mirrored the life of the artist making it her own as Garland struggled

Evolution Of Dependency Analysis
Dependency as an English word evolved in its usage and the implications associated
with it since first introduced. This is the topic of an article, A Genealogy of
Dependency: Tracing a Keyword of the US Welfare State by Nancy Fraser and Linda
Gordon. The article traces the changing meaning and connotations of the word
dependency from four registers: economic, sociolegal, political, and psychological.
Although the definition of word dependent has not directly changed throughout
history, the implications of its meaning have evolved from a positive pre industrial
interpretation to a negative post industrial implication. Fraser and Gordon effectively
argue the transition in meaning of dependency the four different registers from pre to
post industrialization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The negative connotations come from the judgment of these individuals as being
unable or unwilling to be self supporting from an economic and or psychological
perspective, hence, the negative connotation associated with dependency.
Independence is the norm of today. The issue with this norm is that no one is truly
independent. Independence today typically refers to a wage earner. But, wage
earners are dependent on others. Wage earners are dependent on those who pay
their wages, as well as others for social interactions, and personal caregiving needs.
Fraser and Gordon conclude people are dependent on caregivers as a part of a dual
dependent relationship and dependency within a society is beneficial to all. They
state that only when interdependency is an accepted norm, that poverty will
appropriately be addressed. I agree, with this philosophy due to my belief that while
individualism is important for motivation, individuals working together can
accomplish more. Hence, my belief in the statement that the whole is greater than the
sum of its parts, and society as a whole can achieve more as a group than individuals
can accomplish on their own

Carpe Diem In Andrew Marvell s Poem To His Coy Mistress
Andrew Marvell s poem To His Coy Mistress, originally published in 1681,
encompasses the Carpe Diem ideology through a dramatic monologue in which the
narrator speaks to his coy mistress. While the poem uses literary devices to illustrate
the recurring theme outlining time s limitations and that the narrator and his mistress
need to have sex immediately, it also contrasts with the Petrarchan standard of the
idealized woman. Within the first 24 lines of the poem, Marvell uses diction, literary
devices such as the erotic blazon and enjambment, and iambic tetrameter rhythm to
prove that people cannot control time, time goes on and will eventually end, and
women should refrain from reluctance and have sex with men while they still can.
Marvell introduces his main theme that time is constantly plunging forward, as well
as the narrator s irritation with his mistress s hesitancy, within the first few lines of
the poem. Introducing his impatience with his mistress, the narrator declares, Had we
but world enough, and time, / This coyness, lady, were no crime (1 2). These lines
encompass the narrator s Carpe Diem , seize the day, attitude while also proving his
exasperation with his mistress, who would rather be cautious and not have sex with
him at this moment in the poem. Interestingly, Marvell chose to use coyness instead
of hesitancy . Using a sharper, more pungent term like coyness, shows the narrator s
discontent with his mistress s tentativeness, making the reader think the mistress is
the one causing this problem rather than the narrator. Additionally, the iambic
tetrameter rhythm that persists throughout the poem reiterates that time maintains its
constant rhythm. Continuing his onslaught that time is running out, the narrator
discloses that he would / Love you ten years before the Flood, / And you should if
you please refuse / Till the conversion of the Jews (7 10). By proposing exaggerated
declarations of love to his mistress, the narrator is showing her how ridiculous her
actions are in their short amount of time left together. Additionally, he is admitting
that if he had an eternity to prove his love to her, he would use it. Following these
declarations, the narrator goes on to share how he

Descriptive Essay On Home Life
Home means something different to every person, but we tend to spend more time
there than anywhere else. Everyone s home setting is different, but it is typically
a haven to most; home is where we go after a day at work or school; it is where we
are truly free to do what we want and be comfortable; home is home. Our daily lives
exhibit repetitive patterns that in turn compose our routines, which occur every day
and shape us into the people we are. My home life obviously has shaped me in many
ways. My mothers house, which used to be my preferred house to stay, is a hive of
chaotic turmoil. I have not stayed at my mom s in roughly six months and I do not
see myself ever staying there again, aside from hour long visits to eat dinner or
something akin to that, which I just started doing again recently. I used to mainly
stay at my mom s for two reasons: to be away from my dad and to be around my
Xbox. Choosing where to stay at any given period of time, when I had a choice, was
always based on which parentwas the lesser evil rather than who I actually enjoyed
being around, and that pendulum swung between the two and shifted my overall
outlook on both of them time and time again. But one thing that kept me at my
mom s was my untethered access to my Xbox, which I would sometimes stay on
ten or more hours a day. My parents had many restrictions set when I was very little,
including video games, so my interest in them following their divorce exploded as
I was finally allowed to play them. However, my mother today is not the same
mother from my childhood or even those times (which were around sixth to ninth
grade). My mother is a hollowed, warped, and deformed version of her past self.
Her mental health has greatly deteriorated following her numerous endeavours in
drugs, which included addictions to heroin, meth, and countless pills. She has been
checked into asylums after suicide attempts and drug related problems over a
dozen times within the past few years, and she has been taken to the emergency
room over a hundred times. My half brother, Woodes, who is now five, is severely
autistic and often violently deranged. I love him and I took care of him more than
my mom ever did, but he is one of the more prominent
Persuasive Speech About Crafting
When people think of crafting, they think of craft fairs in small towns, of mothers
and grandmothers manning booths with hand sewn clothing for American Girl dolls
and beeswax candles and hand knitted mittens and hats and they re not totally wrong.
But these days, everyone is crafting.
Thanks to the proliferation of do it yourself blogs on the internet and online interior

taken up crafting, having figured out that making great gifts and things for your
home is so much easier and better than buying them.
This year, instead of gifting store bought gifts, consider making things on your own.
When you ve crafted something that you give your friend or your family member, it s

war change the economic and political landscape of the Holy Roman Empire? The
four phases of the thirty years can be summarised as the Bohemian phase, Danish
phase, Swedish phase and French phase, which induced the Holy Roman Empire to
lose money and caused the empire to split. The Bohemian phase from 1618 to 1625
was sparked by the defenestration of Prague. This incited civil war between the

2. What is absolutism? Explain the top three reasons for its rise in the 17th century
Absolutism, where there is a person who has full political power over a country, rose
in the 17th century due to the increase in surplus, mercantilism and the standing
armies. Due to the increase in surplus in these countries, the government had more
money to spend. Mercantilism also contributed to the economic growth of countries
that adopted it. The increased money from these meant increased funding for standing
armies. The standing armies gave the king an army without needing to call on the
nobles, thereby lessening their importance and power, and heightening the king s. 3.
Why is Richelieu so important for French history? Richelieu was important for
French history as he strengthened the French monarchy through the unification of
France, lessening of nobles power and boosting economic growth. Richelieu unified
France by making French the national language of France. The unification of France
made it easier for Louis XIII to achieve an Absolutist government. Richelieu
minimised the nobles power, which in turn increased the monarch s power.
Richelieu also managed the economic activities of France. These strengthened the

Memorandum To:CEO From:Insert Name Date:Re:Constructive Discharge Claim
I was notified by the corporate attorney about a former employee filing a claim for
Constructive Discharge under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Upon
notification I did the following research into the position we as a company need to
take. How is constructive discharge relevant as a legal concept to the current
scenario? At the beginning of this year the company implemented a new work shift
policy to keep up with the growth of the organization. The policy requires that
employee s in the production group work 12 hour shifts with 4 days on then 4 days
off in a rotating manner. This means that at times some employee s will be working

The former employee also bears the burden of proving his prima facie case. In
Lawson v State of Washington (2002), Washington State won over Lawson on a
claim of constructive discharge on religious discrimination. Lawson showed that
he had a genuine religious belief that conflicted with his duties and that he had
informed his employer about his beliefs. The 3rd prima facie of proving discharge
for failing to comply with the requirements that caused the conflict was not
accepted by the court because Lawson quit of his own volition. In the company s
case proving this will result in the same ruling as the former employee quit on his
own and there was no threat of discharge or discipline on part of the company. The
schedule change was for all employees and not just the former employee. And the
company was never informed by the former employee of the religious belief that is
genuine and sincere that was in conflict with the new duties. This shows that the
former employee cannot prove the 2nd prima facie either. The former employee may
be able to prove the 1st prima facie but that will be the only one. The company can
show to the courts that the accommodation of such a religious practice would result
in undue hardship for the company. The shift change is being made due to the growth
of the company. Not doing this will result in significant financial losses due to lost
opportunities. In EEOC

a female character is to make her fight vampires? Both Gwyn Symonds s article and
my first episode of Buffy have addressed these concerns. Symonds discusses the
sharing of genderroles as opposed to gender role reversal through the characters of
Buffy and Spike. Rather than Spike adopting purely feminine traits and Buffy
adapting traditionally masculine traits as a means of empowerment, the two share
characteristics and tropes that can be found in both genders. Symonds indicates that
these are tentative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although most women in media no longer wield a stake and kill vampires, these
women are still usually depicted practicing violence, such as Scarlett Johansson s
character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These women are given typically
masculine traits and tropes such as aggressiveness and a lack of emotion.
Although this is an improvement from tropes such as the damsel in distress,
women are once again being fit into the confines of a box. Writers continue to
create women that can be defined in a trope, rather than an original character with
a unique set of characteristics. This will also cause female characters to lack depth.
Scarlett Johansson s character of the Black Widow, despite being a central character
with multiple reappearances in the series, lacked a back story and any character
development until Avengers: Age of Ultron where her origin was finally explored.
Instead of writing women in the confines of tropes, we should be encouraging depth
and variety of female characters, just like how women are in real
Lobsterman Monument Dbq
There are many monuments in the world and they are all built to honor someone or
something that was done by that person. For example, after the Maine Lobsterman
was built, the fake bronze statue returned to Maine and spent several decades being
moved from city hall to museum to museum. No one seemed to want the man and his
lobster. The issue at hand is if the monuments being built are memorializing the
person or moment created accurately. Monuments capture legacy and preserve the
individual s actions throughout history. Specifically, monuments should consider
purpose, location, and size in their creation.
The purpose of many monuments is to honor and protect the legacy of some of
America s greatest heroes. Kirk Savage in the book Monument ... Show more content

In the book, Cemetery faces an uncertain future Jason Kosareff states the crazy
horse cemetery has more than 3,000 graves in the cemetery and a 4 acre graveyard
at 9263 valley blvd. The size of the crazy horse cemetery captures not only the
importance but the meaning. However the size of the area can come at a price,
unless something happens and we get the money from somewhere, I don t know
how were going to make it (source D) said Rosie Gutierrez, treasurer for the El

by Christine Musser in the book Preserving Memory: National Holocaust Memorial

commission felt the massive building would overcome The Mall and take away the
main purpose of the museum (source E). The size can be detrimental whether it is
cost wise or the Museum overpowers other aspects of the area around
Cold, Heating, And Ventilation
Overview Cold, Heating, and ventilation has become the most energy consumption
area in the residential. According to (Lu. j, et al., 2010 p.211). Studies have shown
that 20 30% of this energy could be saved by turning off the HVAC system when
residents are sleeping or away. In this project proposal, I try to design and analyse in
detail how to use very cheap and simple technology with good sensing ability to
automatically sense the customers sleep patterns in a home, and how to use these
sleeping patterns and consumption time to save energy by automatically turning off
the smart home thermostat system. This technology has become more
commercialized today and called approaching the smart thermostat. There are many
requirements that should full fill according to the customer s desire
1.1 User requirements
1.cheap and giving the service for a what they pay
2.user friendly and easy to access for anyone.
3.Consumption of energy rate is typically lower than other heating systems.
4.new technology/easy to understand for anyone to access and adorable outer
appearance.
5.sensor facilities and automatically generating according to their busy life schedule
with. customer s interfering.
6.environmetal friendly.
Design Aims
Objectives determined from requirements According to the user requirements it is
very essential to design the smart home thermostat system to buy on a reasonable
price. And in order to make it access easy I planned to
Arguments on Why Pitbulls Should Be Banned
Arguments for pit bull should be banned
People generally want Pit Bulls and other Bully breeds banned for 2 main reasons:
1. Thugs who need a tough dog to feel tough intentionally doing everything they can
to make their dogs mean. This includes, beating, starving, baiting, feeding weird crap
like gunpowder....They also never socialize, train, or neuter their dogs. This
intentionally creates a dog that is both dog and human aggressive and will most
likely kill other pets and end up being euthanized for biting someone.
2. Well intentioned but irresponsible people who refuse to admit that their dog might
be aggressive toward other animals. Even though the Pit Bull breed was created to
fight combining the Bulldog s power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What we need is Breed Specific Legislation (BSL); in simple terms, a statute or
regulation that is directed toward this specific dangerous breed. Pit bull dogs have
already been brought to the public s attention as a threat, and such legislation is
strongly supported by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Stringent laws governing,
preventing and/or restraining pit bulls have been passed in many states. For example,
Florida s City Commission passed an
The Interdependence Of Folklore
Folklore is never just folklore. Folklore is the sharing of the experiences and
occurrences that are part of our everyday lives. Whether intentional or not, everyone
is involved in the creation, transmission, performance and assimilation of folklore.
Folklore is perhaps the oldest mode of disseminating human knowledge and
information through attitudes, habits, social customs, traditions, and consciously,
through the arts of music, poetry, drama, visual arts, literature and film.
Folklore contextualizes culture. It is the symbiont, which contributes to and borrows
from both language and culture. The interdependence of these three is epitomized by
the relationship of the expression of folkore through language and the moulding of
language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise the Folklore Films are made and their existence is a protean one, adapting
to time and place tales that embody artistic and moral energies that direct the
trajectory of change. In the tales we can perceive the people s motivations and
sources of psychology renewal, which lead to new ways of living.
Folk literature also known as verbal art or expressive literature is a broad genre of
folklore which is always concerned with the literary traditions handed down by word
of mouth from generation to generation. Folk literature is still popular among the
Khasis and is treated as an important piece of their tradition. Folk literature includes
both narrative and non narrative forms, where narrative is found both in prose and in
verse forms.
In Meghalaya, there are a few folklore narratives, which have been adapted and
reconstructed into films. The first folklore film to be made in Khasi was Manik
Raitong or Manik the Wretched . The story of U Manik Raitong is found in several
renditions in prose, poetry and drama. This film is based on a popular legend which
can be found in Nongkynrih (2007), Esther Syiem Nehu Journal (2003) , Bijoya
Sawian in the Muse India (2005), and P. R. T. Gurdon The Khasis (1987)

Essay On Segregation

  • 1. Essay On Segregation Crafting an essay on the topic of segregation is a challenging endeavor that requires a thoughtful exploration of historical contexts, social implications, and the intricate dynamics that surround this deeply rooted societal issue. The complexity arises not only from the need to delve into the historical aspects of segregation but also to critically analyze its ongoing impacts on various communities. To begin with, researching the historical roots of segregation demands a meticulous examination of events, policies, and the evolution of societal attitudes. Understanding the nuances of how segregation has manifested in different periods and regions is crucial for presenting a comprehensive and accurate picture. This process involves sifting through historical documents, scholarly articles, and firsthand accounts to gain a nuanced perspective on the subject. Moreover, addressing the social implications of segregation requires a keen awareness of its multifaceted effects on individuals and communities. Exploring the psychological, economic, and educational ramifications of segregation adds layers of complexity to the essay. Articulating these consequences in a coherent and impactful manner demands a deep understanding of sociological theories and empirical studies. Additionally, navigating through the sensitivities and controversies surrounding the topic is a delicate task. Balancing objectivity with empathy, especially when discussing the experiences of marginalized communities, requires a careful choice of language and framing. It is essential to avoid perpetuating stereotypes or oversimplifying the complex issues at hand. The essay must not only provide a historical and sociological analysis but also offer insights into potential solutions or avenues for progress. Proposing viable strategies to address and mitigate the lingering effects of segregation requires a thorough understanding of current societal structures and policies. In conclusion, crafting an essay on segregation is a formidable task that demands rigorous research, sensitivity, and critical thinking. It necessitates a deep dive into historical archives, an understanding of sociological theories, and a thoughtful examination of the ongoing impact on communities. Success in tackling this complex subject lies in presenting a well-rounded, nuanced perspective that goes beyond mere narration to contribute to the broader conversation on societal progress. • 2. Osama Bin Laden As The Political Figure For My Project I chose Osama Bin Laden as the political figure for my project because I have always wanted to see the unbiased side of his story and that s exactly what I got from Michael Scheuer. People all over the world saw Osama has the face of terrorism. People have to look past the mass murderer, terrorist, and at times the most wanted man in the world. You have to look at him as the intelligent person that he was. Osama for two decades was allowed to rebel, conducting a private guerilla war against America. His goals were to get American troops out of Saudi Arabia, to preserve the religious integrity of the Hijaz, and to punish America for supporting Israel and hope that Israel could cease to exist and its Jews scrubbed from the Holy Land. The greatest impact Bin Laden had on America were the attacks on 9/11 which was when he and Al Qaeda successfully hijacked four commercial aircrafts, two crashed into the World Trade Center (Twin Towers). The third crashed into the pentagon in Arlington Virginia, and the fourth was successfully retaken by the passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The people of America wanted to know what could cause someone to do these gruesome acts. Michael Scheuer really helped show his childhood. Osama wasn t always a terrorist, he was a innocent child. He was an outstanding student at Al Thagher. Correspondingly, he received an invitation to join a islamic study group in hope to receive extra credit. He and other Jedda family members joined
  • 3. The Tragic Heroes Of Hamlet And Oedipus The Tragic Heroes Hamlet and Oedipus A hero in a drama is the focus point throughout the story, someone who technically saves life s and carries pride within them. In Hamlet by Shakespeare and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles they simply create a tragic hero due to their stories having a twist in what a hero turns out to be at the end of the dramatic stories. They have similar issues as well as they have their differences in their stories. Shakespeare and Sophocles create a similar touch to their dramatic heroes, and not only do they write those type of stories but they also create different characteristics to them and defining them in other ways that can be entertaining. Even though in both Hamlet, and Oedipus contain tragic endings, both main characters were viewed as heroes at one point in the story, however the authors did not create a same character each main character has their own characteristics and each author had their way of writing a drama. Shakespeare and Sophocles wrote different things and as well as Shakespeare is known for his poems, he is also known for his dramatic stories with a tragic ending. Hamlet, the son of a king, happens to lose his father while in a short amount of time his mother marries his uncle, the brother of the king of Denmark. While Hamlet is trying to figure out everything, the ghost of his father happens to appear, and it tells him that his uncle the current king of Denmark is the one that caused his death. As crazy as it sounds, it is true, his

However, in the last two decades, universities have placed an emphasis on athletes and the sports they play, rather than their education and well being. Despite having the same theme and basic ideas, the paintings differ in the motives for the gift giving. In The Judgment of Paris, Paris gives the Golden Apple to Aphrodite partially because it was commanded of him by Zeus and partially because of his personal gain. Contrary to that idea of gift giving to raise the already magnificent even higher, is the idea of Jesus selfless contribution to those in need. No, unequivocally and resoundingly no. The simplest way to state this view is by making sure that everyone knows that men and women are in fact different. They are different in muscle mass, in mindset, and chemically. Men are built for war and fighting, women are built for child birth and nurturing. The sexes view most things in life differently, so why would anybody think that there should be equality in something that is by nature masculine? Unit readiness is the way a unit is scored on its ability to be mission ready. This can be affected by sickness / illness / ailments levels among troops. As long as women menstruate, they will always have more ailments than their male counterparts. Women are also far more likely to get a urinary tract infection, which can quickly become a kidney infection and require immediate medical care. This would remove someone from the fighting force due to an issue completely unrelated to the fight. Planned and unplanned pregnancies can also affect the ability of the unit to complete a mission or deploy. Now, if you think about the unit being deployed in a combat zone and having a combat mission, what is the military supposed to do when one of the female members becomes pregnant? It costs approximately a million dollars per individual to get trained through boot camp and to be made ready for deployment (Eden, 2013). Waste like this should just not be allowed. Furthermore, how is it fair, since we are talking about equality, that the mother gets sent back home to have the child while the father has to stay in the combat zone? There are also the unit numbers to think about. For every female that has to return home that is one less soldier on the battlefield that can t be instantly replaced. This makes the force in a combat theater weaker and more susceptible to injury or death. Neither one of these is fair to the male soldiers who must

Throughout this paper resilience will be applied to all of the above mentioned concepts. Resilience across a lifespan is described through theories, measures, and even personality characteristics. Resiliencehas also been applied to the impacts of disasters and traumatic experiences in which will also be touched on throughout this paper. Resilience is described as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress (American Psychological Association, 2016). Resilience is an ordinary thing in human beings. It is often described as bouncing back, which refers to bouncing back from difficult times or situations. As a person grows older resilience grows as well. A person s past can most certainly affect how a person uses resiliency in the present. If a person is not affected negatively a lot in their past when it comes time for a person to bounce back, they will not bounce back as smoothly as a person who has had a very traumatic past and has learned how to bounce back in a smoother fashion. A person s past determines their resiliency in the present and a person s present determines their resiliency efforts in the future. Resiliency is different for each and every person. Resiliency also can grow with a person or can dissipate

Believe it or not, the audience can surely impact the stance and genre of which will ultimately influence how the writer computes their writing. It is quite common that a writer will distribute their stance in nearly all writings. The easiest to identify and differ stances are those that are indifferent and those that glorifies passionate stances. How we purpose our message to certain audience is greatly influenced on who that actual audience is. First and foremost, the difference between indifferent

  • 30. Over The Rainbow Analysis Over the Rainbow, or popularly known as Somewhere over the Rainbow is a poignant ballad expressing a deep longing and hope of an escape from the worldly troubles. The song was originally written for the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz, with its music created by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Yip Harburg. It won the Best Original Song in the Academy Awards on the same year. Over the Rainbow is one of the greatest American standards of the 20th century, a cultural gem significant for preservation. The song also ranked first in the Songs of the Century List, the result of a survey of America s musical and cultural heritage. Since then, many covers had been recorded by artists who had their own unique interpretation of the musical piece. Judy Garland s rendition of the song reminds me of my dad s collection of 1940s records. She sings in a soft, melodic voice reflective of the musical style in that era. The tempo is slow, the vocals are more emphasized than the orchestra s instrumentation. Garland s original version of the song is best remembered because of her role as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz. In the movie, she sang about the place where she won t get into trouble. The song captured the hearts of the audience since it was a symbolic piece where many individuals can relate to. The dreams of the ideal and the hope of a brighter future was evident in the song. Somehow, Over the Rainbow mirrored the life of the artist making it her own as Garland struggled with her

The negative connotations come from the judgment of these individuals as being unable or unwilling to be self supporting from an economic and or psychological perspective, hence, the negative connotation associated with dependency. Wage earners are dependent on those who pay their wages, as well as others for social interactions, and personal caregiving needs. Fraser and Gordon conclude people are dependent on caregivers as a part of a dual dependent relationship and dependency within a society is beneficial to all. They state that only when interdependency is an accepted norm, that poverty will appropriately be addressed. I agree, with this philosophy due to my belief that while individualism is important for motivation, individuals working together can accomplish more. • 33. Carpe Diem In Andrew Marvell s Poem To His Coy Mistress Andrew Marvell s poem To His Coy Mistress, originally published in 1681, encompasses the Carpe Diem ideology through a dramatic monologue in which the narrator speaks to his coy mistress. While the poem uses literary devices to illustrate the recurring theme outlining time s limitations and that the narrator and his mistress need to have sex immediately, it also contrasts with the Petrarchan standard of the idealized woman. Within the first 24 lines of the poem, Marvell uses diction, literary devices such as the erotic blazon and enjambment, and iambic tetrameter rhythm to prove that people cannot control time, time goes on and will eventually end, and women should refrain from reluctance and have sex with men while they still can. Marvell introduces his main theme that time is constantly plunging forward, as well as the narrator s irritation with his mistress s hesitancy, within the first few lines of the poem. Introducing his impatience with his mistress, the narrator declares, Had we but world enough, and time, / This coyness, lady, were no crime (1 2). These lines encompass the narrator s Carpe Diem , seize the day, attitude while also proving his exasperation with his mistress, who would rather be cautious and not have sex with him at this moment in the poem. Interestingly, Marvell chose to use coyness instead of hesitancy . Using a sharper, more pungent term like coyness, shows the narrator s discontent with his mistress s tentativeness, making the reader think the mistress is the one causing this problem rather than the narrator. Additionally, the iambic tetrameter rhythm that persists throughout the poem reiterates that time maintains its constant rhythm. Continuing his onslaught that time is running out, the narrator discloses that he would / Love you ten years before the Flood, / And you should if you please refuse / Till the conversion of the Jews (7 10). By proposing exaggerated declarations of love to his mistress, the narrator is showing her how ridiculous her actions are in their short amount of time left together. Additionally, he is admitting that if he had an eternity to prove his love to her, he would use it. Following these declarations, the narrator goes on to share how he

Everyone s home setting is different, but it is typically a haven to most; home is where we go after a day at work or school; it is where we are truly free to do what we want and be comfortable; home is home. Our daily lives exhibit repetitive patterns that in turn compose our routines, which occur every day and shape us into the people we are. My home life obviously has shaped me in many ways. My mothers house, which used to be my preferred house to stay, is a hive of chaotic turmoil. I have not stayed at my mom s in roughly six months and I do not see myself ever staying there again, aside from hour long visits to eat dinner or something akin to that, which I just started doing again recently. I used to mainly stay at my mom s for two reasons: to be away from my dad and to be around my Xbox. Choosing where to stay at any given period of time, when I had a choice, was always based on which parentwas the lesser evil rather than who I actually enjoyed being around, and that pendulum swung between the two and shifted my overall outlook on both of them time and time again. But one thing that kept me at my mom s was my untethered access to my Xbox, which I would sometimes stay on ten or more hours a day. My parents had many restrictions set when I was very little, including video games, so my interest in them following their divorce exploded as I was finally allowed to play them. However, my mother today is not the same mother from my childhood or even those times (which were around sixth to ninth grade). My mother is a hollowed, warped, and deformed version of her past self. Her mental health has greatly deteriorated following her numerous endeavours in drugs, which included addictions to heroin, meth, and countless pills. She has been checked into asylums after suicide attempts and drug related problems over a dozen times within the past few years, and she has been taken to the emergency room over a hundred times. My half brother, Woodes, who is now five, is severely autistic and often violently deranged. I love him and I took care of him more than my mom ever did, but he is one of the more prominent

The four phases of the thirty years can be summarised as the Bohemian phase, Danish phase, Swedish phase and French phase, which induced the Holy Roman Empire to lose money and caused the empire to split. The Bohemian phase from 1618 to 1625 was sparked by the defenestration of Prague. This incited civil war between the Catholics League and the Protestant Union. The 3rd prima facie of proving discharge for failing to comply with the requirements that caused the conflict was not accepted by the court because Lawson quit of his own volition. In the company s case proving this will result in the same ruling as the former employee quit on his own and there was no threat of discharge or discipline on part of the company.
