1. Essays On Responsibility
Writing an essay on the topic of responsibility can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies in navigating the multifaceted nature of responsibility, as it encompasses various
aspects of human life, society, and ethics. Crafting a comprehensive and insightful essay requires
a deep understanding of the concept and the ability to explore its nuances.
Responsibility is a broad theme that extends beyond personal obligations to encompass social,
environmental, and ethical dimensions. This complexity makes it challenging to address the topic
in a succinct and coherent manner. A successful essay should delve into the philosophical,
psychological, and practical aspects of responsibility, considering how individuals and
communities grapple with their duties and obligations.
Moreover, balancing the theoretical underpinnings of responsibility with real-world examples
and practical applications adds another layer of difficulty. The writer must carefully choose
examples that resonate with the audience while illustrating the diverse ways in which
responsibility manifests in different contexts.
To tackle this challenge effectively, one must conduct thorough research, drawing from a variety
of disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, and ethics. Synthesizing these diverse
perspectives into a cohesive narrative requires analytical skills and critical thinking.
In addition to content, the essay's structure and flow play a crucial role in conveying ideas
effectively. Crafting a compelling introduction that grabs the reader's attention, developing a
logical and coherent argument in the body, and providing a strong conclusion that leaves a
lasting impression all demand careful consideration.
Despite the challenges, writing an essay on responsibility offers an opportunity for personal
growth and reflection. It encourages the writer to think deeply about their own sense of
responsibility and how it relates to the broader world. Ultimately, the difficulty lies in doing
justice to a complex and multifaceted topic, but the rewards include the satisfaction of exploring
an important concept and contributing to a meaningful discourse.

2. Chip Ward s Analysis
Have you ever wondered what our future will be like when we are old and grey,
when we have grandchildren of our own? In Chip Ward s letter to his grandchildren
We screwed up (2012), he writes about how wasteful, greedy, and self centered he
and his generation is when they were younger. Ward s generation did not stop to
think once about how incompetent they were about using non renewable resources
such as coal, oil, gasoline, etc. They also forgot to keep in mindhow being piggish
with these materials would pollute the air we breathe and the water we drink today.
Chip Wards generation was the most avaricious, wasteful and egotistical generations
of all. To begin, Chip Ward and his generation consumed a fairly large amount of non
renewable
3. Regulation Framework Of Canada And Compliance
Regulation framework of Canada and compliance
Part 1
The current Canadian security regulation is managed by laws and agencies that have
been established by Canada s 13 provincial and territorial governments. Each of the
province has its own security regulator that is in charge of administration of the
securities acts, regulations and rules. The idea of setting up a national single security
regulator has been suggested by various reports that have outline a range of problems
with the current system (Mark 121). The reports suggests that the current system
needs improvement and in a prompt manner. Concerns have been put forward that the
current regulation is too complex and is harmful to the security market operations. The
current system has also ben said to increase compliance costs hurting the Canadian
market competitiveness (Mark 123). In addition, the current regulatory system has
been said to be slow to respond to changes in the environment as there is need for
agreement from all the thirteen authorities. The global security market has also
rendered its support for the establishment of a single regulatory system. However,
despite the problems and concerns over the current system in the last decade, the
current system still remains in place due to certain barriers if change to a centralized
security regulatory system that exist.

4. Essay on Ethnography on Cambodian Americans
I chose Cambodian Americans for my target culture because it was a place I knew
very little about. My ignorance of that side of the world is laughable to say the least.
Cambodian American was a great choice because both the people and the culture are
very captivating to me. While some Cambodian Americans become very westernized,
accepting most of America s cultural norms, some hold strong to their Cambodian
traditions and way of life. Through Geert Hofstedes Taxonomy, I will explore the
dynamics of the Cambodian Americanculture. Through Identity, Hierarchy, Gender,
Truth and Virtue I will attempt to describe a culture previously virtually unknown to
me. I chose Hofstede s Taxonomy over Bond s because Michael Bond himself told

While most Cambodian Americans are loyal to their own family units it is not
uncommon for them to be hesitant about close interaction with strangers even
other Cambodians. The hesitation that some Cambodian Americans face when
meeting with strangers is due to the fact that the Cambodian culture is one of high
power distance. Hierarchy is determined usually by age or economic status. Social
hierarchy of age is evident in the greetings. Depending on who you are greeting
determines the type of greeting. If one were to greet someone who is Cambodian,
they should do the formal put hands together and bow. At chest level to someone
who is of the same age or status, at mouth level to a superior such as a boss and at
nose level to someone who is an elder, such as a grandparent. (Vorani) If greeting
someone who isn t Cambodian, we just normally do the American hi while waving.
It just really depends. For the Cambodian culture, we have to make sure we greet
using again the hands together while bowing especially to those who are older
than your parents. You also have to say a formal saying in Khmer but I forgot the
translation for it in one must to refer them as ming , bou , or orm . This is based on
both age and gender. (Eam) There is a clear delineation between superiors and
subordinates and between the young and the old. (Serpa)
While the Cambodian culture itself is more feminine there is a high level of respect
paid to the men of the household. The
5. William Faulkner s The Bear
After the Civil War, the American Southerners had a strong trauma that could not be
forgotten. Considering that William Faulkner was also one of these Southerners,
approaching to his texts through a psychoanalytic lens would be a meaningful
work. In fact, Faulkner is one of the rare writers who faced Southern racial taboo :
the miscegenation. In addition, a Southern Renaissance that what Faulkner does
with the South through his novels are very similar with what Freud did with the
European civilization after the World War I in his work about psychoanalytic
mourning (Lee 229). Actually, Faulkner went through the World War I just like
Freud did and he is one of the Lost Generations : a group of writers who were
strongly affected by the inhumanity of war. Thus, this essay will focus on analyzing
Faulkner s The Bear in psychoanalytical view. In The Bear, the wildernessis one of
the significant motifs. Issac and Faulkner saw the wilderness as gigantic, chaotic,
and fearful. It gets over the cultural differentiation of human and separation, which
are characteristics of the Symbolic Order of Lacan s theories (Dobie 71). In other
words, the chaotic wilderness alludes to the Real Order, which remains foreclosed
form the analytic experience (Dobie 70 71). Moreover, the wilderness is considered
as primitive chaos and part of semiotic. Actually, a description of Isaac s first entrance
into the wilderness shows how the passage conveys somewhat sexual impression.

6. The Importance Of Social Work For Refugees And Asylum
Seekers
Social Workers have a duty, professionally and morally to support refugee children
and asylum seekers.
Social workers have a professional and moral duty to ensure that services are
provided to those who most need it. The duty that Social workers have toward
Refugees and asylum seekers, particularly children is strong but not often met.
People s wellbeing is a key ideal within social work and is strongly represented
within the Care Act 2014, the earlier Children s Act 2004 is also clear on the
protection of children s rights in the UK. In the essay there will be a discussion on
how in some areas the statute is not strong enough to allow Social Workers to work
properly, but also how there needs to be changes regarding social work focus on
refugees.
Recently, United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF) has campaigns to help reform
the UK s current law on family. The law only recognises parents or spouses and civil
partners as family. A child refugeemay have an older sibling, or more extended
family such as an uncle but they would not be allowed into the country under the
Family Reunion rules. The dangers for children trying to reach family in the UK
are high and it leaves them at risk of exploitation, 78% of adolescents face some
form of exploitation whilst travelling the Central Mediterranean route to Europe,
UNICEF (2017). Social Workers have a duty here to protest the UK s laws, and the
decision of the Government not to join the EU s relocation scheme for Refugees.

7. Do Not Resuscitate Requests
Do not resuscitate requests/issues (DNR) Introduction Do not resuscitate (DNR)
is a medical term used for a legal order which certifies that a patient wishes not to
undergo Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(ACLS) in case that respective patient s heart stops or he/she stops breathing. This
practice is common amongst elderly patients who believe that the treatment might
be too traumatic for them to bear. This act has been morally criticized by some, but
still approved and improved by the authorities all over the world. It is part of the
New York State s Patients Bill of Rights and California Health Care Directive.
DNR is considered legal in many parts of the world and this practice is considered
as an ethical act as it fulfills a patient s will of not bearing the suffering or pain he/she
might go through in his/her respective medical state. Any human being has the right
to define his/her own limits and if a person does not want to go through some
treatment which might be traumatic for him/her, the authorities and his/her loved
ones along with the medical institutions/specialists must respect the patient s
decision. However, DNR does not mean that the patient s treatment should stop
completely. Only CPR and ACLS are to be avoided. DNR rights are only granted to
close family members like the patient s spouse, children (if they are legally old
enough), parents or siblings. Other than that, a person specified by the patient legally
can

9. Using A Virtual Private Network
VPNs
By
Samantha Fitzpatrick

Dr. Ford
30 April 2015 Introduction There is a growing need to connect to internal networks
from locations other than the regular and secure office. Employers and organizations
need to realize that employees often need to connect to internal private networks from
home, hotels, airports, etc. A solution for this problem is using a virtual private
network (VPN), which is a network that uses public network paths, but maintains the
security and protection of private networks. Secure communication is expensive, but
VPNs allow organizations to have a number of discrete communication services for a
large amount of clients. It is cheaper to have a copious amount of virtual networks on
a couple physical devices than having a copious amount of physically discrete devices
accomplishing the same objective.
Methodology
VPNs transmit data through secure tunneling. A packet is first encapsulated in a
new packet with a new header and then sent through the tunnel, which is normally
IPSec, L2TP, PPTP, or SSL. Both points of the tunnel need to support the protocol
used. To provide access to the internet, the packet with a private IP address can be
sent inside of a packet with a global IP address. For security, VPNs use encryption to
make sure packets are indecipherable without the proper keys, which provides data
confidentiality. They also provide data integrity using a message digest to ensure the
information has not been tampered with

The famous photo of the earth rising was taken by by one of the astronauts on
board Apollo 8 mission, William Anders. He wasn t a photographer but an
American Astronaut and was the superior member of the mission. He was born
October 17th, 1933 and although he was American he was in fact born in Hong

This very significant photograph was taken on Christmas Eve, 1968. The astronauts
Williams Anders, Frank Borman and Jim Lovell became the first people to leave
Earth and circle the moon. The trip was a significant mark in history due to this being
the first time that people had travelled to the moon. Jim Lovell was the navigator,

using the position of the stars. When the spacecraft entered lunar orbit, it circled ten
times, approximately 70 miles from the moon for twenty hours. As they circled the
moon the famous Earthrise photo was captured. Never before had anyone ever seen

11. Memories In The Giver
Have you ever wondered why memories are so important? In the book, The Giver,
the author, Lois Lowry, writes about a boy named Jonas, whose life changes after
receiving the most honored, important job. Jonas believes he is different because he
holds the memories. Jonas experiences develop a theme over the course of The Giver
by teaching the reader that without memories one cannot fully understand a topic.
Although some readers may believe that you can understand a topic perfectly without
the memories, Jonasexperiences show that he can only understand a situation
completely with the memories.
Without the memories you won t understand your actions. For example it states in
The Giver, ATTENTION A REMINDER THAT STIRRINGS MUST BE REPORTED
12. Tyranny of Andrew Jackson
The Tyranny of Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson: the common man or the first king of America? He is viewed by
history in many different ways, some see him as the man who granted universal
white male suffrage, created a more democratic way to elect electoral voters to
congress and replaced caucuses with national nominating conventions; and others,
who saw past this false representation and saw how in his eight years in office, he
vetoed 12 bills, forced Native Americans from their homeland, ignored supreme
court decisions and let his personal life affect his presidential decisions. Jackson, as
captured in his portrait in the National Portrait gallery was a stern man with a strong
sense of self reliance. And while these qualities can be seen as ... Show more content

However, when introduced the Maysville Road Bill, he was quick to shoot it
down. Behind the Bill was Henry Clay, a politician from Kentucky. In previous
years, Clay had earned credit from Jackson s faults and publicly said that Jackson s
part in the Trail of Tears stained the national honor. The Maysville Road Bill was a
plan to build a twenty mile stretch of highway within Clay s home state of
Kentucky. Jackson vetoed it after it had been passed by congress, declaring that the
bill violated the economic affairs of the government and would put America is
greater financial crisis. In reality, it was a personal attack against Henry Clay (Van
Deusen 52 54).
Despite Jackson s support for the growth and prosper of the West, both he and his
constituents lobbied to raise tariffs on imported textiles such as fur, flax, hemp,
liquor and wool to about 50 percent their intended value. The increase of prices from
other countries was greatly beneficial to the Northern economy, who were able to sell
more of their products, but detrimental to the South. Because the South simply
produced raw goods, it was essential that they imported manufactured goods for their
general well being. This tariff not only threatened to reduce the flow of goods from
Britain, but the loss of money made it difficult for them to purchase raw materials.
Representative of South Carolina and long time foe of Jackson, John C Calhoun spoke

15. April Raintree Analysis
The drunken Indian stereotype is a twisted perversion of the sad truth that many
Indigenous peoples in Canada, and all over the world, struggle with substance abuse
problems and alcoholism, as seen numerous times plaguing the family of the
protagonist of In Search of April Raintree, written by author Beatrice Culleton
Mosionier. Countless believe alcoholismamongst Indigenous peoplesis genetic, that it
is in their blood their nature, but this logic is hackneyed and highly inaccurate. For
starters, Canada s Indigenous population was not introduced to alcoholand its effects
until colonization. Years later, lacking proper and sufficient help to aid in healing the
scars left from trauma, many turned to substances. Nowadays, the scientific
community recognizes that alcoholism is something learned, not something one is
born with. Alcoholism amongst Indigenous peoples is not a genetic predisposition,
but rather a cultural influence taught over hundreds of years.
Before the European colonizers arrived in Canada, the Indigenous peoples of the land
did not have a brewing tradition, and had no prior experience with alcohol. Alcohol
was first introduced to the Indigenous peoples of Canada around the 17th century,
where it became a commonly traded commodity, in exchange for materials such as
fur. Consequently, the addition of alcohol also greatly changed the healthy diets of
the Indigenous peoples, who once relied on organic foods for sustenance, acquired
through hunting and

17. Battlefield Medicine During The Civil War
If you were a soldier in the Battle of Gettysburg do you think that you would ve
survived? The battle between the Union and the Confederacy lasted three days,
from July 1, 1863 to July 3, 1863 and in the end the Union was victorious. The
Battle of Gettysburg was the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. The medical
knowledge and equipment that the surgeons had back then were no match the
types of illnesses and injuries that the soldiers had. The people that were that got
shot during the Civil War, either had to get a body part amputated, got their
gunshot wound covered with a bandage, opened up the wound to get the bullet out
and then patch them up. Three people from The Killer Angels that got shot and
just got their wound wrapped with bandage were John Buford, Buster Kilrain, and
a runaway slave. John Buford who was thirty seven years was the Brigadier
General for the Union and was a cavalry soldier. In the novel it states, He had been
hit once in the legs arm and the bleeding had stopped but the genuine pain was just
the beginning. They had wrapped the arm and put his coat back on and he did not

18. The National Assessment Of Educational Progress Essay
The National Assessment of Educational Progress reveals that 37 percent of U.S.
fourth graders fail to achieve basic levels of reading achievement (Lonigan
Shanahan, 2008, p. 13). Studies have indicated that the literacy skills of young
children are indicators of their literacy learning in later grades (Lonigan Shanahan,
2008, p. 13). In order to be successful when teaching students how to read, there are
five readingcomponents that needs to be addressed in a classroom. These five reading
components consist of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and
reading comprehension (Armbruster, Lehr, Osborn, Adler, Noonis, n.d., p.ii). Even
though there are countless ways in which teachers can instruct their students in these
different areas, an ideal reading program for the first grade might pertain the different
teaching methods as discussed below.
I.Phonemic Awareness
Phonemic awareness is the awareness that the speech stream consists of a sequence
of sounds specifically phonemes, the smallest unit of sound that makes a difference in
communication (Yopp Yopp, 2000). Research has indicated that phonemic awareness
is a requirement when learning to read (Tompkins, 2014, p. 150). The reason that
phonemic awareness is so instrumental when learning how to read is because one
must be attentive to the different sounds that make up a word and how these sounds
work. They must also be able to make the connections between these sounds and the
word
19. Jack And Ralph Relationship In Lord Of The Flies
The Lord of the Flies is a novel about two dozen boys who are stranded on a
deserted island during World War II. In The Lord of the Flies, Ralph and Jack s
relationship directly affects tribal decisions and development. Jack and Ralph s
differences in opinion, development of savagery, competitive mind set and fight for
power cause difficulty within the tribe.
Jack and Ralph s negative relationship develops there differences in opinion. Jack
doesn t take it serious that his pig hunters are not contributing to building the forts.
We want meat. Well, we haven t got any yet. And we need shelters. (Golding 51).
Jack does not understand the importance of having the shelters built as much as
Ralph does. Likewise, Jack neglects the fire in order to go on a pig hunt. This
causes a ship to not notice and to bypass the island. There was a ship. Out there
you said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (Golding 70). Jack doesn t see
the importance in the rescue fire and neglects the job he was given by Ralph. Ralph
makes the rule that the only fire allowed, is the one on top of the mountain.
(Golding 81). This insures that the hunters keep the fire going because they will
need it to cook pigs. Ralph does not see the importance of catching pigs as Jack does
and only sees the importance of their rescue. In conclusion, Jack and Ralph neglect
one another s priorities, leading the development of a negative relationship.
As the boys spend more time on the island, they lose
20. Geographic Luck Is Not True
I think that the theory of Geographic luck is not valid. It is true if you live in a
certain country that its population is low than the wealth could be a lot lower or

would be just based off of luck it would just be the way that the countries are.
Therefore I think that the geographic luck is not valid and that it is true. One
reason why I think that the geographic luck is true and that its not valid, is because
geographic luck isn t based off of race.( If people thought the geographic luck was
valid then it would be based off of race.) One example is that when I did the race

Abstract Voting is most pivotal process of democratic society through which people
determine it s government. Governments around the world are increasingly
considering the replacement of traditional paper based voting schemes with electronic
voting systems. Elections of Bangladesh are conducted most exclusively using
electronic voting machines developed over the past three years. In this paper we
describe the design, construction and operation of a digital voting machine using a

Among the reasons for concern, critics include vague and incomplete security
guidelines, insufficient documentation requirements, and inadequate descriptions of
the configuration of commercial software. An electronic voting machine has been
designed by a microcontroller for which the code is written in assembly language.
Various code protection schemes specified by the manufacturer of the microcontroller
are used to prevent inadvertent or deliberate reading and reproduction of the code
contained in the microcontroller. The election data contained in the EEPROM of the
microcontroller can download into a central computer for tabulations. The security of
data in this computer is enforced by generating digital signatures for each data file
created. This process makes it impossible for anyone to substitute wrong or
deliberately altered data files at any intermediate stage between the capturing of voter
s intent by the machine and the final results tabulations. Prior to the election, all
configuration data is set up on the counting server. The configuration is then
transferred to the ballot box server. Configuration data include: candidate names,
polling station identity, and a list of barcodes. During the voting period, voters are
authenticated as per the traditional paper based voting, and asked whether they wish
to vote electronically or use the traditional paper based method. A voter

The animal I have chosen to study is the Japanese macaque, more commonly known
as the Japanese snow monkey. Sir David Attenborough recently described the
macaque as one of the most successful and versatile of all primates , commending its
capacity to be versatile, resilient, enterprising, tough and capable of surviving in
extreme conditions . This essay will continue by examining the Japanese macaquein a
number of ways. Firstly, I will describe the physical characteristics of the animal,
paying particular attention to the way in which their appearance has adapted to
enable them to dominate in their habitat. Secondly, I will discuss the environment in

The macaque does not have a prehensile tail which allows for handling objects.
Instead they have a smaller tail referred to as a stump. Their inability to use their
tails is compensated by the fact that the macaque s fingers and thumbs share a
level of dexterity that is only rivalled by humans. This skill is developed by
mothers at a young age; appendix 2 shows an image of a young macaque making
and carrying snowballs to practice using their opposable thumbs. Hays (2009) found
that macaques can survive in climates with temperatures as low as 14oC. This is
due to the difference in the texture and thickness of their fur. They are covered in a
thick layer of soft fur onto which lies a layer of short, dense, courser hair. It is the
thick layer which provides the heat to enable the macaque survive in such subtropical
climates. The macaques live further north than any other primate excluding humans,
something which has proved a barrier to survival of numerous other species
throughout history. Hays (2009) describes how this is possible through a case seen in
northern Honshu, where macaques bath in volcanic springs where the temperature
had been previously moderated and used by humans. (Appendix 3)
Hanya (2004) describes the species as omnivores. However, similar to the climate of
their environment, their diet is also cyclical. Throughout the summer and autumn, the
macaque will

prosperity, social change and a form of expression made a way for society to begin
to walk down the path of the modern age. Especially for women, African Americans,
and the youth generation. Thereby, redefining the nation for the youth to forget about
the post world war one era and embrace the new morality, for African American to
showcase their intellectual contributions and link their struggle to the world, for
women to expand their human rights and be liberated from society standards, and
for American to begin their new lives because of invention in medicine and
technology. So, how did the Roaring Twenties and or the Jazz Age affect the decade
of the 1920sin the United States history?
First, there was a variety of inventions that was beneficial to health and wellness, and
economically prosperous for producers and somewhat labor free for consumers,
during the 1920s. Three examples of inventions that were created during the Roaring
Twenties and or the Jazz Age was the radio, the
25. Moving Out On My Own Essay
People often hear or maybe seen on the news of houses being broken into. We do
our best to protect ourselves and our families from the unenviable happening. We
have locks, we purchase alarm systems and other forms of defense to keep
strangers out and our possessions in. When I woke up on Tuesday, April 6th,
2011, I never imagined someone would come inside of my home and ramble
through my things and take from me whatever they wanted. If I could have seen
into the future, I would attempt to change the minds of the guys who broke into
my apartment. Moving out on my own was a very scary task. I finally made up my
mind to obtain a place for my daughter and myself; I was twenty five years old.
Previously, I was living with my mother and father... Show more content on

Nana s house. After packing what I felt was important and securing the backdoor
as well as we could, we left and went back to my mom s house. The next day I
called the owner and told him I was moving back home. I felt defeated and taken
advantage of. Not taken advantage of by the owner, but just in general, by life. I
asked the two neighbors closest to me if they had notice anyone around my place
the day before, but no one saw anything. The elderly man that was normally sitting
outside by his fence was at the hospital with his wife all day. The male who lived
directly next door stated he worked all night so he was sleeping the majority of the
day. So we packed what was left of our items and just like that we were back home,
back in my childhood room. We were going back to where we felt secure and
protected. It was a short experience, but it showed me how looks can be deceiving
and sometimes we don t always make the right choices at the right time. I felt so
vulnerable, but at the same time I felt I was meant to go through that situation so
that I could appreciate what I had. It wasn t about being an adult or being on my

26. The Case Of Marks And Spencer
Change Management Issue: The case of Marks and Spencer
Introduction
Marks Spencer is founded by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer. Since starting in
1884 by selling clothes for men and women, the company has grown in the UK and
soon in the rest of the world they experienced tremendous market strength and even
expanded their items from food, wine, beverages and household items. In the 19th
century they expanded to more than 1,250 stores in the UK and major cities in
different countries worldwide. It also gained more than 85,000 employees during this
decade. In the mid of the 19th century, however, it is challenged by the competition
that weakened their clothing and fashion for men and women, their popularity began
to subside.
The management is challenged by external and internal factors where even their
employees suffered from low motivation because of fear of losing their job. There are
also branches and shops that need to be close because of the week sales. Although
until today, the company is an accepted organization because of their good reputation,
it is obvious that the company struggle in the retail industry with the competition
including Debenhams, Primark, Zara, H M and other popular fashion organization.
Some critics and market experts even believe that company has no place in today s
modern industry (Ruddick, 2015). Management does not give up easily, they
identified that change management is the issue and came up with solutions to
overcome these problems.

The advertisement for beans by Heinz is heartfelt and very upbeat. Heinz have
taken a different route with their advertisement. Heinz used animations and real life
scenarios to attract and relate to a wide variety of people. In this advertisement,
Heinz portrayed a man growing up with a mysterious love for beans. Heinz captures
its audience by showing us the man, named Geoff, growing up through pictures of
his childhood, but his childhood was different. Heinz decided to add beans in every

Throughout the advertisement, Geoff would experience life changing events.
Getting his first job, getting married, and having kids. For each major event that
happened in Geoff s life, there would be a can of bean to represent that show of
emotion. Heinz uses their can of beans to symbolize that throughout Geoff s life,
he uses his passion for beans to express his emotion. These emotions are always
emotions of joy. Heinz also uses real life situations to relate to the audience. For
example, when his kids would sit alone on the dining table and eat sloppily. Geoff
put in the effort to make a can of beans that would not be spilled once eaten in a
sloppily manner. Once Geoff s boy ate the bean filled sandwich and saw that there
was no mess. He decided to sit at the dining table with the family. Heinz used this
scene specifically to symbolize that the can of beans brought Geoff s family
together. Expressing signs of joy as they ate on the dining table. Symbolism could
also be found when Geoff s wife was giving birth. The babies were portrayed as two
beans inside their mother s stomach. Instead of having two embryos. That could also
show how the beans brought happiness through Geoff and his wife s life through
ways that are very different from the cans of beans that were portrayed throughout the
advertisement. By using symbolism in their ad. Heinz successfully related to a wide
range of audience. Using success,
29. Augustus s Life During The Civil War
Augustus had a discouraging childhood as he was unhealthy and did not have many
connections with the government. Augustus was born on 23, September 63 BC. He
was the son of a man from Velitrae who was in the position of praetorship and died
unexpectedly when Augustus was 4. At this same time, Rome was dangerous because
of extensive civil war. Augustusgreat uncle, Julius Caesar, was involved in this war.
Augustus father was married to Atia, who was the daughter of Julia, Caesar s
sister. Later on in Augustus life, Caesar s distant family relationship was idle to
how Augustus came into power. When Augustus s grandmother, Julia, died,
Augustus delivered the eulogy at her funeral, which was his first public
appearance. Soon after, Caesar won the civil war and was given the title of
dictator of Rome. In order for Caesar to claim power, he needed a heir. Since he did
not have a son of his own, he adopted Augustus. Augustus was a young man with no
knowledge of politics in Rome, therefore, this was a great opportunity for him to
gain knowledge from Caesar, since he was deemed son of Caesar. Soon after,
Caesar died; he was murdered by his own advisors. Augustus was 19 when this
happened and instantly took power of Rome.
Augustus victories have helped him glorify Rome during his reign as emperor, as
well as showing dedication to Rome, which was unfortunately false, overall, he only
used his victories to gain popularity in Rome. In 31 BC, Augustus defeated Cleopatra

Running head: RFID Inventory System
Riordan Manufacturing Inventory System: RFID based Tracking
Executive Summary
The primary weak link in the value chain of Riordan Manufacturing is the
manufacturing process of raw materials inventory tracking. Currently the raw
materials arrive and a series of written reports are produced for the Inventory Clerk
who then re produces those reports during a data entry process into the Inventory
Office PC (see Figure 1). This system continues through the chain of manufacturing
from the point the raw materials arrive until the final product has been assembled and
shipped. This method yields a system that is data redundant, prone to human error on
the data entry level, and presents an opportunity ... Show more content on

The final two stages of the manufacturing process, final product additions and
shipping orders, also have separate data collections and data entry stages.
For Riordan Manufacturing to make the inventory process more efficient, the data
collections process and data entry are going to have to be combined in the form of a
digital document that can be easily stored in a database. Additionally, technology
purchases will need to be made to enable the manufacturing staff to quickly collect
and enter the data into the system.
Feasibility
A new computer based system is feasible because the staff and basic procedures for
collecting data are already in place. The staff is already trained to inspect
shipments, document inventory usage, and process orders. The procedures for all
staff will be similar with the only changes being to how the data is collected and
entered. Additionally, the inventory PC is already in place allowing the new digital
system a higher degree of realistic implementation. Already having a computer based
data entry point will allow for easier integration of a new system because the data is
already being stored digitally.
Benefits
Implementing a new system that reduces data entry redundancy provides the
benefits of reduced labor, and more reliable data entry. The new system will reduce
labor because fewer staff will be required for data entry. The new system will enable
the manufacturing staff to quickly collect the data and enter

32. Meaning Of The Hijab
In my second year in college, when I had finally settled in and people had a better
understanding of me, I had numerous people come and tell me I did not know you

always remained the same You wear a hijab, lead me to thinking you were religious.
The conversations always closed with the same statement from me A piece of cloth
on my head does not measure my devotion to my religion. In modern times, the hijab
has become symbolic of one s religiousness, beyond just being an item of clothing
that is embraced by women who follow the religion of Islam. The idea of a woman
being religious as she is wearing the hijab is as valid as stating that a person is a
good chef, since he is wearing the chef s hat. This common misinterpretation also
leads some people to believe that Muslim women who do not wear the hijab are not
religious. What the present society fails to understand is the true purpose and
meaning of the hijab, while they misunderstand the concept and assume that only the
religious Muslim women wear the hijab. Hence, I believe that the society must stop

33. Compare The Arguments Against Autonomous Weapons
In order to understand autonomous weapons, one must understand the basis of
artificial intelligence (A.I.). At their very core, A.I.s are algorithms (a step by step
procedure based off of mathematical data) that can handle tasks which human
intelligence requires. This means they are able to do reasoning tasks like problem
solving, prediction, diagnosis, and so forth. On the contrary, the A.I.s portrayed in
films and fantasy novels often involves machines that demonstrate human level
intelligence. To put this into perspective, there is a scenario where an A.I. is
assigned to drive a car from point A to point B with a separate car accident between
the points. A realistic A.I. would still try to drive the car from point A to point B
because its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stuart Russell, the director of the Center for Intelligent Systems at the University
of California, Berkeley, raises two points to consider as support to banning
autonomous weapons: developing A.I. weapons better than human soldiers and
the availability of A.I. weapons (Russell, 2015). To put differently, human soldiers
can decide whether or not to shoot someone like a civilian in an extreme
environment. An A.I. weapon would only act within its algorithm. So unless the
algorithm accounts for every possible scenario, it will produce unfavorable results.
However, a game theoretical formulation by G. Arslan and J.S. Shamma
invalidates this. Russell stated an A.I. is restricted by its algorithm, so it cannot
like a human in complex scenarios. But here, it s possible for the A.I. to make
much more complex decisions with negotiation mechanisms. An example of this
is a young boy, strapped with a bomb, walking towards a squad of soldiers. The
soldiers are preoccupied with other things, so they did not notice the boy. The
autonomous turret, near the soldiers, recognizes the explosives and prepares to
shoot the hostile. The turret s A.I. is only able to distinguish the difference
between lethal and nonlethal targets. However, if a drone with an A.I. built to
identify age was there, it can prompt a more favorable scenario. It can stop the
turret s A.I. from killing the boy and proceed to two different courses of action.
The turret s A.I. can shoot the boy in a nonlethal spot to neutralize him or alert the
soldiers of an incoming child. From there, the soldiers can either talk some reason
to the kid or disable him. Referencing back to Arkin s point, this is considered the
optimal level of human control. The A.I.s makes it easier to accomplish certain goals
but the hard decisions are left for humans to make. Also, this allows for more human
control in a sense since there are more algorithms

Egyptian Pyramid Construction
Thousands of years ago, the ancient Egyptians used different type of stone materials
to build the Great Pyramids as it is known, Egypt is a very rich country with stones
that it was referred to as the state of stone . It has a great amount of various limestone
formation which the Egyptians used to call the white stone . Egypt is also rich with
sandstone, but it was not really used that often during that era.
Most of these materials were not that rough. They used low grade limestone to build
the pyramid core, and fine white limestone to employ for the outer casing as well as
to cover interior walls, also pink granite was more often used on inner walls. Basalt
was one of the most common material used for flooring, it is a volcanic stone formed

The stone was a poor quality material, it was layered in regular, strong formations
with half a meter thickness. It was grained with yellow to greenish gray shading. The
Egyptians used a thin layer of clay to separate the limestone layers from each other.
According to the history, most temples of Egypt, especially in the north area,
incorporated a mound of earth to represent a symbol of the original site of all life.
The Egyptians started shaping such mounds as a small hill of earth or sand, but then
these mounds eventually took the form of a small pyramid carved from a single
block of stone.
Therefore, it looks like the pyramid shape represented the idea of their belief that a

Post negotiation Analysis of Les Florets Case
This case particularly resonates with me because it highlights the problems that arise
when two individuals have reference points which do not overlap. An impasse was
reached between myself (VP of operations for Les Florets) and the Restaurant owner
and this was primarily due to the fact that we both had reference points with a ceiling
which we felt we could not exceed.
Going into this negotiation as the VP of operations my goal was to primarily succeed
in buying the restaurant. Prior to starting the negotiation, i identified several certain
non monetary concessions that could be made to sweeten the deal such as paying a
percentage of travel expenses, and also allowing the restaurant owner ... Show more

I explained that one of the primary reasons why the restaurant seemed to be doing
so well was because of the brand name of Les Florets and that we could just easily
open another restaurant across the street if we wanted to but that we wanted a
semblance of continuity for our customers . Although I expected this ploy to work
it seemed to make things worse as the owner retorted that he had several offers on
the table and could just easily sell the restaurant or any one and let that person
worry about keeping the Les Florets name and maintaining its profitability and that
won t be his problem. At this point I was in a dilemma , having resorted to strong
arm tactics and failed miserably (primarily because the owner wanted to test my
resolve) was there a way to get back into favor?
There were several factors that culminated into the ultimate inability to reach an
agreement. Firstly, was the differing priorities of both parties , while I was focused
on reaching a deal and considered an impasse to be a failure , the other party was
more focused on money and all the benefits offered paled in comparison as
mentioned by the owner compared to the money foregone. Secondly, the owner
seemed to want the property independently valued and then sell at this price.
Knowing that the valuation was more than I could offer, I could not agree to this and

38. Genetically Modified Organisms ( Gmos )
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) to Produce Pharmaceuticals pharming
How it Works
Genetically modified (GM) pharmaceuticals are produced through inserting genes of
a desired substance into an organism such as plants or animals, so they will express
this trait to mass produce that substance in secretions or through their body cells.
Many pharmers , people who make GM pharmaceuticals, use recombinant DNA
techniques to achieve this desired result of having an animal or plant mass produce
medicinal substances. Recombining DNA in creating pharmaceutical organisms
involves the crossing of the DNA of an organism with a gene that creates the desired
substance for a pharmaceutical.
In animals, pharmers will insert a gene that codes ... Show more content on

The desired gene is then inserted into a cut plasmid, a piece of DNA in bacteria cells
that is separated by a restriction enzyme and is able to put new genetic information
into an organism. The modified plasmid is introduced to a culture of bacteria such as
agrobacterium tumefaciens where the plasmid will enter into the bacteria. The
bacteria containing the particular gene is introduced to the plants where the they will
enter into the cells of the plants and integrate the gene into the genome of the plant.
The plant now contains the gene that produces a certain medicinal substance. When
the plant is mature enough, the pharmaceutical substances in the plant are extracted
and purified. Plants that are made for pharmaceuticals (PMPs) are different from
plants that are traditionally considered medicinal because PMPs have undergone
genetic engineering in order to produce a concentrated amount of the medicinal
substance.
Applications
GM pharmaceuticals are currently very experimental and do not have many
applications due to vague safety procedures and protocols for producing
pharmaceuticals from GM plants and animals. This led to very few governments
approving the use of GM plants and animals to create mass pharmaceuticals.
However if a GM drug were to be approved, it will be likely to be classified as
experimental or as a new drug submission where it can only be used in the laboratory
setting. However, there are some instances where GM pharmaceuticals have use.

Riding horseback, lounging in a carriage, travelling by train turned metro, through
all these years of industrial innovation humanity has needed social interaction. These
social interactions have gone from intimate gatherings, to newspapers, to social

and in turn dealt away their social presence. Today, young adults throw themselves
into an alternate reality which many use to protect them from loneliness while it
drags others into remote depths. Imagine looking around during your day and at
any point you see no one. Not that no person is there, but nobody you can talk to.
The vice like grip inside you that strengthens with each passing body creates an

Human connection is a valuable thing and helps keep a stable piece of mind.
Loneliness is that lack of human connection. This issue is important because of its
relation to the rising suicide rate. According to research presented at the 125th

Capillary action is part of the reason that water rises in a plant stem and moves
throughout the plant. When water enters into the plant s roots and moves to other
parts of the plant through tiny tube like structures called xylem.
This movement is called capillary action, which is one part of the plants
transpiration system.Several processes work together to transport water from where
a plant absorbs it upward through the rest of its body. To understand how these
processes work, you first need to know one key feature of water: Water molecules

What is transpiration?
Transpiration is the technical term for the evaporation of water from plants. As water

Anthem, by Ayn Rand, is a book that deals with topics of power, love, and
individualism, and societal and personal differences . The theme of anthem, that
individuality must be protected, is widespread and prominent, referenced throughout
the book, from the viewpoint of the main character.
This will go over the character, the time, and the setting in the book, helping to show
and understand the theme because the author can convey plot points and themed
information better through the components of the book themselves, rather than
outright stating it in the book.
The character helps understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be
treasured in our society, because it shows what the emotional and physical links to
the society in the book, as well as the mental states and feelings influencing the text.
The main character is named Equality 7 252 . He described himself as 6 , and he
had always been more interested in the scientific attributes of nature, rather than
the job at hand. He held little regard for the rules of the society, as shown by his
disregard to law. The laws say that none among men may be alone, ever and at any
time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have broken
many laws, (Rand )
This character helped understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be
treasured in our society, since the character is , while struggling to maintain his own
individuality. ...and we would work for our brothers, gladly and willingly, ...What is
my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?... (Rand). This quote helps support

46. The Mermaid Theme
I thought martial arts was my forte, but then I realized I wasn t the only person that
could do this when I got into show business. Compared to others, I wasn t really that
good. So, I became a children s TV program host. This came from the mouth of one
of the famous comedy film directors named Stephen Chow.
One of the films I like is The Mermaid which is a romantic comedy film directed by
Stephen Chow. It was released in the year 2016 and it also broke a few box office
records such as the biggest opening day and biggest single day gross in China. The
main characters of this film are played by actor Deng Chao as businessman Liu Xuan
and actress Lin Yun as the mermaid. Apart from them, other actors and actresses
appeared in this film such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, he did make an excellent choice when selecting actors and actresses in
his films. In The Mermaid , Deng Chao played the male lead role of Liu Xuan, in
which he did a good job of it. Deng Chao uses his comedic talents and great acting
skills to give audiences a good laugh in the movie. He also has high popularity in
China so it would be a good choice of having popular actors being the lead role to
attract interest in audiences. As for the female lead role, Stephen Chow chose Lin
Yun to be the mermaid as her personality of genuineness is suitable for the role of
