What Is An Informative Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "What Is An Informative Essay" may present its own set of
challenges. Firstly, defining the characteristics of an informative essay requires a thorough
understanding of the genre. It's not merely about conveying information; rather, it involves
presenting facts, data, and details in a clear and organized manner. Striking the right balance
between being informative and engaging can be challenging.
Another hurdle could be ensuring that the essay remains focused on providing valuable
information without veering into opinionated territory. Keeping objectivity intact while still
maintaining the reader's interest requires a delicate touch. Additionally, structuring the essay
appropriately – with a compelling introduction, well-organized body paragraphs, and a
concise conclusion – is crucial for effective communication.
Research is a fundamental aspect of an informative essay. Gathering accurate and reliable
information from credible sources demands time and effort. Evaluating the credibility of sources
and synthesizing the information coherently can be a daunting task.
Furthermore, achieving clarity in writing is essential. Balancing the use of jargon and simplifying
complex ideas for a broader audience can be challenging. The language must be accessible while
maintaining the integrity of the information presented.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "What Is An Informative Essay" requires a
combination of research skills, clarity in expression, and a deep understanding of the genre.
Overcoming these challenges can lead to a well-crafted essay that not only informs but also
engages the reader.

Essay on The Tollund Man
The Tollund Man
The Tollund Man is one of Europe s best known bog bodies. He was found,
alongside The Grauballe Man in the early 1950s. Bog bodies recovered from the
past are quite wide spread throughout Northern Europe, especially in Denmark,
Germany and Ireland. The peat perfectly preserves the bodies due to anaerobic
conditions, although the bodies are found blackened, their fingertips, hair and
clothing are all still intact. Seamus Heaney uses the bog bodies in his poetry to
uncover, in their meditations, a history of Ireland s conquest, first by Viking s and
later by the English .
Tollund Man opens quietly and effectively like Glob s initial description, an

The way he was found, Naked except for the cap, noose and girdle makes it sound
as though he was stripped of all his pocessions, defenceless, and suggests that he was
strangled or hanged by the noose around his neck. Later in the poem Heaney says that
The Tollund Man , rode the tumbril which was a cart that took people to their death
by punishment for example the guillotine, this also backs up the idea that The
Tollund Man was killed in rather gruesome circumstances.
The third stanza, Bridegroom to the goddess is describing the bog as the goddess
of fertility, this is personification. Glob argues that some of the Iron Age people dug
out of the bogs of Jutland were ritual sacrifices: their murder in winter, and the
disposal of their bodies in bogs sacred to the goddess, would ensure the fertility of the
crops the following spring . This is why The Tollund Man s burial and preservation
is described in sexual terms, open her fen . Those dark juices working/Him to a saint
s kept body describes how the bog preserves the body perfectly. Also, it suggests The
Tollund Man is like a saint as in the Catholic religion, saints bodies are said not to
decay. I could risk blasphemy…our holy ground shows The Tollund Man s
power over Heaney, he can compel a religious reaction outside the norms of
Malcolm X The Ballot Or The Bullet Speech
The Ballot or the Bullet
Malcolm Little was a Muslim minister born on May 19 of 1925 in Omaha,
Nebraska. In 1946, he was convicted and sent to prison for burglary. Behind bars
Malcolm began to read and educate himself. He then converted to Black Muslim
faith. Later he joined the Nation of Islam (NOI), a religious Islamic movement
founded in Detroit, and changed his name to Malcolm X to eliminate a part of his
identity he called a white imposed slave name. Six years later Malcolm was released.
The Nation of Islam was founded by Wallace Fard. Once Fard disappeared Elijah
Muhammad took leadership. NOI preached adherence and reliance on other African
Americans. When Malcolm made his personal conversion Elijah Muhammad
recognized his talents and made him a leading spokesman and recruiter for the Black
Muslims. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later, on April 3, 1964 he gave the now famous The Ballot or the Bullet speech in
at King Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit, which he had also given nine days
earlier at a Cory Methodist Church in Cleveland. It was significant because it was
meant to reach out to moderate civil rights leaders. He advised African Americans to
judiciously exercise their right to vote. Malcolm did not discuss religious differences
instead he stressed the common suffering to all African Americans. Malcolm X
believed in action on all fronts by whatever means necessary. His speech was given to
bring understanding to the political oppression, economic exploitation, and social
degradation at the hands of the white man . Malcolm X was anti exploitation, anti
degradation, and anti oppression. He is not anti Democrat, nor anti Republican but he
questioned their sincerity and some of the strategy they were using on African
American people by promising promises that they did not intend to
The Right to Die with Dignity and without Pain
Dr. Jack Kevorkian was charged with second degree murder and served an eight
year prison sentence. (Fridstein. 1). This accomplished physician graduated from
the University of Michigan with an impressively high IQ. He was a writer,
inventor, movie producer and classical composer. (Kevorkian). Why would a man
so intelligent and successful end up in jail for murder? Well believe or not he
purposely challenged the legal system in a one man crusade to ignite a national
discussion on the subjects of assisted suicide, Euthanasia and one s constitutional
right to choose. Euthanasia is a medical procedure that involves a person being
induced with a soothing, relaxing medicine that allows them a peaceful passing. Dr.
Kevorkian s attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, summed it up best when he said, We re just
talking about the right not of children and not of mentally incompetent people but
the right of mentally competent adults to make decisions about their own bodies
as to how much suffering they have to undergo. (Kevorkian). Euthanasia is not for
people experiencing temporary illness or unhappiness. It s for people who are
imprisoned by their own unbearable physical pain for the rest of their lives with no
way out. Is it fair to not give those people a choice? Is it fair to make them slowly
deteriorate while losing their dignity? I think not. That is why I support euthanasia
being legalized, Dying is not a crime. (Fridstein. 1).
It s understandable that some of us are bound by religious
Stop Traffic On Galbraith Road And Preventing Tour
Buses...
Construction can have a large impact on its surroundings, including local residents,
pedestrians and vehicular traffic depending on the site s location. For example, many
of the sites visited in Toronto affected traffic as they had frequent deliveries and had
to stop traffic to allow this. This includes the Centre for Engineering Innovation and
Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto where frequent trucks enter and exit to
remove excavated soil (***Special Lecture***), stopping trafficon Galbraith Road
and preventing tour buses from enterring. On the other hand, outside the city,
construction has far less of an impact as there are often multiple lanes for traffic, and
little or no pedestriantraffic. When building in Toronto then, it is important to
minimize construction s effect on pedestrians, vehicle traffic, and local residents if
present, since these parties are all impacted by the decisions made on site.
In our site visits, we examined many sites at varying stages of completion, and
noticed how some of them dealt with construction s effect on the surroundings, as
will be discussed here:

Themes in The Grapes of Wrath The Joads are on their way to California. The land
which seems to be a heaven with great work, little white houses, and many acres of
land. But the Joads soon find out that California may not be the paradise they
dreamed of. Their journey to California will be full of hope and despair along with
keeping their dignity in the midst of all the wrath. One of the biggest problems they
will face is how poorly they will be treated. The one thing that made the Joads
successful is that they stuck together as a family and supported each other. . These
things mentioned above reoccur throughout the novel. These are some of themes in

At the very end of the book after all the struggling they had been through, it ends
with hope. The Joad s find a barn to stay in because their boxcar was beginning to
flood. There was a starving old man in the barn and Rose of Sharon Brest feeds
him. Another theme in the Grapes of Wrath is keeping your dignity in the midst of
Wrath. Along the journey to California and even once they arrived they had a lot
of unhappiness which turns into wrath. They always had to worry about did they
have enough money. Was that money going to last them to buy the food that they
needed. The Joad s also had to worry about did they have some where to live and a
job. They had jobs but none of them knew how long that job was going to last, once
the job was done they were out of work. Many families were angry because they
were so full of wrath but the Joad s keep their dignity throughout all their struggles.
Near the end of the book women watched their families work and they truly thought
that all of their self respect came from if their husbands had wrath. The women
thought they would remain strong as long as they had wrath. At the very end of the
book is where the Joad s dignity even though they had had so many bad experiences
shines through. Three member of the group had dropped out, Rose of Sharon give
birth to a dead baby, and no one had a job but still they let kindness show through
them. Rose of Sharon Breast feeds the old starving man.
Richard I Biography
Richard the I is a famous King of England that was alive in the 12th century, and
one of the earliest monarchs of England. He was the Great Great Grandson of
William the Conqueror(Brundage, 10). He was a member of the House of
Angevin, which was composed of him, his father, and his brother John(Brundage,
12). He is a relatively famous King of England, renowned for his fighting skills,
and nickname Richard Coeur de Lion translated Richard the Lionheart . Richard
was born on the 8th of September, 1157 in Oxford, England(Brundage, 9). He was
the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine(Brundage, 9). He had 4
legitimate brothers, William IX(Count of Poitiers), Henry the Young King,
Geoffrey II(Duke of Brittany), and John(King of England)(Brundage, 10). William
IX died before Richard was born. Richard grew up in Europe with his mother. He
most likely did not know very much English and spoke mostly French(Brundage,
21). At the age of 14, he became the Duke of Aquitaine, an area of land in the
southwest of France controlled by his mother. Richard learnt most of his battle
skills in Aquitaine, and this is really where he became the warrior we see later on
in his life. ADD THESIS. When considering the effect that Richard may have had on
England and Europe as a whole, we need to look at what he did. Richard... Show

Richard, as we have seen, was a great warrior. This was probably one of the major
reasons why we still remember him today. He was given the name Richard the
Lionheart as a testament to his fighting skills. The name Richard the Lionheart
probably captured many people s attentions throughout history, because of its fear
and power associated with such a name. The name also allows for a romanticization
of the Kings of England, because the name Lionheart could easily be thought of as a
brave man in shining armour heading out to save a
Abraham Lincoln s Meditations On The Letter M

and run into a strong of failures; I ve learned to work even harder and achieve

Everyone will encounter failure on their way to success. Without failure, we
cannot grow and succeed it teaches us how to improve ourselves. In history, for
example, Abraham Lincoln went through many failures before becoming one of
the United States greatest presidents. He was demoted quickly in the military and
lost many elections in his career, but continued to work until he had risen to
presidency (Wilson). Another example is J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the
Harry Potter series. She went through many struggles in her life, each time
adjusting and eventually working her way up to huge success and wealth (Gillet).
In her book, Very Good Lives, Rowling describes how to embrace failure and
improve yourself. There are many other well known people in history with similar
experiences. Walt Disney was fired for a lack of imagination, Sir Isaac Newton
failed to run his farm, Thomas Edison was fired several times for being
unproductive, and Albert Einstein had difficulty in school all of these people and
many more, at some point of their life, encountered failure and had to learn to
accept it to achieve success. In my experience, this also applied in school.
Although I always went for the highest grades, there were some times when I had a
string of low grades. I learned to accept failure and learn from it, along with
adjusting to change, to work my way back up to success in
Role Of Thought Police In George Orwell s 1984
The novel 1984 written by Gorge Orwell is a satire about the socialist dictatorships of
Russia and Germany. 1984 was written as a look into the future if political powers
adopted a totalitarian government. The Government of 1984 is a totalitarian socialist
dictatorship. The names of the government system are INGSOC or The Party. The
totalitarian dictatorship, INGSOC, maintains and abuses power through the Thought
Police, newspeak, and technology. The Thought Police are members of The Party
who watched everybody all the time to see if they are acting against The Party
(Orwell 3). Thought crimes include thinking an anti Party thought, writing in a
journal, and physically acting against The Party. Thought Police help INGSOC
maintain power because anyone who goes against The Party, even thinks an anti party
thought, will be vaporized or tortured into supporting the government. INGSOC and
the Thought Police encouraged children to turn in their parents for thought crime.

Syme gives a description of Newspeak, in which he articulates that the words being
taken out of the language are anti Party words. The reduction of anti party words
means that The Party is making thought crime literally impossible (Orwell 52).
Newspeak will also limit the range of thought by changing definitions of words. A
definition change makes words only be useable in certain context and unable to be
used to negatively describe The Party. Newspeak s shrinking vocabulary helps The
Party maintain power because anti party words are completely extinguished; causing
people to be unable to start revolts and commit thought
Strain Theory Essay
Robert Agnew is known for his general strain theory. The theory explains that the
basis of people getting involved in criminal activity is because of strain. If someone
becomes upset, frustrated, depressed, or mistreated they will turn to crime in order to
deal with the feelings. Yet, not all people turn to crimein order to deal with strain or
stressors. There are different ways to measure strain. Subjective strains are those
strains that are disliked by particular person or group. This approached is aimed at
how the person reacts to the way they are treated. The second approach is called the
objective view. During this approach the researches will as individuals how much
they would dislike a specific event. Strains come in three major... Show more content

In fact, according to Cullen (2006), A strain is more likely to be seen as severe if it
is high in degree or size; it is frequent, recent, of long duration, and expected to
continue in the future; it threatens the core goals, needs, values, activities, and/or
identities of the individual (p. 204).
Moreover the presentation of negative stimuli can come from receiving negative
treatment. For example, the individual has been abused by a love one either
physically or sexually. These bad feelings create pressure for corrective action; we
want to do something so what we will not feel so bad (Simpson, 2000, p.109). In
consequence, the juvenile is more than likely to turn revenge and his actions will
drive him to criminal activity. There are several ways to deal with the strain and
negative emotions, many which include crime (Simpson, 2000). There are those
vicarious stains that increase the likelihood of crime for many reasons (Cullen, 2006).
The juvenile may try to get revenge, perhaps they are trying to prevent further harm
from the perpetrator, or they anticipate future harm.
Cullen (2006) states, Anticipated strains refer to the individual s expectation that his
or her current strains will continue into the future or that new strains will be
experienced (p. 203). Particularly speaking about the physical assault, an individual
may feel that he will be abuse in the future and will engage in crime because of strain.

Biological Female Stereotypes
As a biological female, in more ways than not, I tend to follow the expected roles
of a traditional women. Associated with the role of a female are certain personality
traits, behaviors, appearances, and occupations. Females are seens as gentle,
emotional, nurturing, soft spoken, cooperative, and dependent. Females are
expected to be pretty by using makeup, skincare, and haircare products. Longer hair
is seen as feminine, as well as, the color pink. In addition, women are expected to
pursue careers as teachers, nurses, social workers, and secretaries because these
careers required traits and characteristics which are associated with female. I view
myself as a gentle person, but I am also a strong and relentless soccer and rugby

I work in social services as a foster care licensing specialist and interact with
children and families who are culturally diverse. My awareness of my identity
enables me to make culturally responsive decisions. With various social identities
comes different perspectives, values, and experiences. I am not color blind to race
or its larger social implications, but I tend to categorize others less by race than gender
. I have a multiracial extended family. My aunt is white and my uncle is black.
Together they had three beautiful bi racial daughters. Additionally, I have a cousin
who is Chinese and was adopted at birth by her white, single mother. I dream of
having a multiracial and multiethnic family myself and hope to celebrate race and
ethnicity. However, I am more likely to notice the number of men and women in a
room than differences in race. Perhaps this is due to my white privilege status
versus my female oppressed status. Because white is considered the norm, I am
less likely to identify the differences between races, and because male is considered
the norm, I am more likely to recognize the disparities between gender. Moreover,
there are times I identify with one identity over another. As a fan of the Women s
National Soccer team, I was proud to identify as an American female during the 2015
World Cup. I knew that being an American was a privilege that

there would be barely any soldiers to fight an army and question arose whether the
British government was attempting to weaken them. Additionally it also became
perceived as a health threat, like poison. There was a fear as well that native opium
growing would take away pivotal land needed for grain cultivation, which was
needed for food supply as well ass threaten political instability. In Fijian, fear ensued
as land scarcity made it necessary for food importation from Taiwan. Commoners and
officials wanted prohibition to protect food supply demands.
The dichotomy exists throughout the article, which were the benefits vs. the threat of

however did warn of potential overdose. Note should be taken the the opinions of
these Chinese medicine practitioners, however, seem to have had little or no effect

Similes In Iliad
Introduction
There is no doubt that we have heard about Greek and the great history that they
had however, whenever it comes in our minds the word Greek we remember the
most popular epics ever in the history, Iliad. Iliad is an epic poem that tells the
story of the Trojan War and the Odyssey which have been considered as the most
important Greek epic poem for the blind epic poet, Homer. Despite the doubts in his
presence whether he was the one who wrote the epic or not however, his epic poetry
is still studying till this century. If we travel back in time to the century that Homer
has been written this epic, we will find that his epic is dating back to the eighteenth
or nineteenth century BC according to the history of Greek. One hundred years ...

In Iliad, the similes are used to transfer detailed images to the audience and the
characters of Iliad are great heroes, immortalised in legend and stronger that what
we used to see or hear nowadays. Moreover, including the characters of Gods made
his poetry to play an in important role. Each character tempt us to think of their
society and each incident they lived. The women in the poem obviously tend to be
the wives, mothers and lovers to those heroes in the war. On the other hand the
authorial Knowledge of Homer is prominently in the poem when he described the
action of Greeks one after the other, Trojan and Gods alike, relates events that
happen over the world and the power of description all of that gave Homer the
authority in the poem. It is noteworthy to mention that Iliad was an important poem
for Greeks and Homeric epic has been rated as great among its imitators which
makes this poem over the decades to still being studied and read widely until now.
In book 22 of Iliad Homer talks about the death of Hector. It detects the character
feature of Hector and Achilles while looking at Gods interact with them in respect to
the warrior culture. Homer uses many similes to show animal imagery one the other
during the warfare between Hector and Achilles. The best simile that describe their
characteristics when he compares them to stallions as Achilles chases Hector around
the city of Priam three times before facing Deiphobus, Hector s brother. In line 166

Socrates View On Happiness
To achieve happiness, there is no set action to take in order to feel it. I feel as if
happiness can be reached in an unjust society. It is up to an individual to find their
own happiness. An individual has to make the best out of what they have. It has been
proven time and time again, that it is okay to be different. It is when people are
different when things start to change for society. When everyone stays the same,
everything stays the same. Just like Socrates questioning anything and everything to
attempt to fulfill his life, how the Greeks used theater to make life less serious, and
the use of certain coping mechanisms used in today s society.
Socrates was known to be one of the founders of western philosophy. For most of his
time he was a well known character, expounding his philosophy of life in the streets
of Athens to anyone who cared to listen (Grube, pg. ix). Socrates spent his life
questioning absolutely anything and everything. That is how he fulfilled his life. He
knew that nothing was certain, and that is what made him happy. He lived in a
society that he thought was unjust, yet he found a way to have happiness. Socrates
knew that what we know as humans is not accurate, and he was determined to try
and figure out anything he could. He may not have known why he did what he did,
or he may not know that it makes him happy, but that is what he did to pursue his
definition of happiness.
Throughout the Greek age, drama became a huge role in society. According to
Backman,In other societies such as Egypt, there was no such thing as a play or
comedy. I feel as if that society was a lot more reserved and not as open. In Greece,
the use of comedy made it easier to joke about more serious issues.
Just like in the Greek age, today s society uses comedy to make each other happy
and feel better about what is happening. The use of theater may not directly occur,
however the use social media, television, and internet to make light of the downfalls
we have throughout our society. Throughout the year of 2016, there was a lot of
controversy throughout the presidential election. It was a sore subject for many to
talk about due to the extremely different beliefs. This society is built on the grounds
of everyone
Erikson s Theory On Development
From leaning objective 8.9, explains the development of the personality along with
social interpersonal skills, and the concept of the self from infancy to adulthood, I
wanted to compare the first five stages of Erikson s theory on development to Ken
Wilber s first five stages of his nine stages, that he calls spaces. The first five stages
of Erikson s theory, which he notes as crisis, are trust versus mistrust, autonomy
versus shame and doubt, initiative versus guilt, industry versus inferiority, and
identity versus role confusion. The first four personal spaces, of Wilber s theory
are the archaic, the magical, or egocentric, the mythical, and the rational. Erikson s
theory states that an emotional crisis must be successfully met for normal
development. Wilber s theory is similar in that he uses an example of a multiple
story building. If one stage isn t completely understood, but not mastered, then that
floor will end up leaning, and a building like that cannot be sustained for long
before its structural integrity is compromised. Erikson s theory is based that social
interactions were the most important thing to consider for healthy development of
children. The first stage, starting from infancy on to 1 year of age, has the crisis of
trust versus mistrust. This just means that they develop either of these skills based
on how well their needs are taken care of. The next crisis starts at 1 year of age up to
3 years of age, toddler age. This one is called autonomy
Galilee Chapter 5-6 Summary
5:1. The end of chapter 4 showed that Jesus was going to teach the Scriptures all over
Galilee. One day, the multitudes had gathered to hear Jesus teach Gods word. Jesus
not only taught the Scriptures in the synagogue on the Sabbath, but whenever and
wherever the opportunity presented itself.
5:2. As the crowd grew and pressed in on Jesus to hear what He was saying, he
ended up backed up against the water, and so, not wanting to stand in the water and
teach, He decided to get into a boat and teach a little way out from shore.
5:3. The fisherman didn t need their boats while they cleaned the nets, so Jesus got

5:10. Among these others were James and John, the sons of Zebedee. John may have

Procial Factors Of Social Isolation
Social Isolation As Rick becomes incarcerated in the juvenile detention center he
starts to experience the effects of social isolation. As being part of the team and
social accept by his peers Rick struggles to fit in with his new peers in the detention
center. When Rick is adjusting to incarceration there was a social interaction of his
peers watching television while Rick isolated himself in the back of the room
avoiding social interaction. This type of situation can lead to psychological issues if
the behavior continues. In the study, Procedural Factors That Regulate the Effects of
Social Conditions on AlcoholConsumption in Rats (2016), the researcher s examined
alcohol consumption among rats that were put into social isolation versus group
interaction. The research outlined that there have been numerous studies showing
various results on the subject. The study demonstrated that there are many factors
that can elicit increases in alcohol consumption due to social isolation. One factor
revealed in the research was the age of the rats. The rats that were in adolescence or
mating age were more likely to consume alcohol due to social isolation rather than
mature adult rats. The second factor realized was the length of isolation. Short or
acute isolation has mixed to little effect on alcohol consumption. However,
continuous isolation reliably leads to increases in alcohol consumption. Finally, a
major contributor was the size of the group. The research lead to the smaller
Theme Of Money In A Christmas Carol
Money is power, freedom, a cushion, the root of all evil, the sum of blessings, said
Carl Sandburg. Throughout the story A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, he
shares a clear message about wealth or having an abundance of money. The love of
money can make mankind greedy and hateful, but wealth can also be used for
thoughtful and generous purposes. His view goes hand in hand with the teachings of
the Bible. In A ChristmasCarol, Scrooge shows that his love of money makes him
selfish and full of greed, but once he is shown his past, present, future he realizes his
ways and changes them to help others, and he specifically embraces the Cratchit
family in many ways. As it is shown in A Christmas Carol, Scrooge is a man that
cares mainly about his wealth. In the beginning of the story he is asked to give
money to the less fortunate and destitute, his response is shocking, Scrooge says,
... I can t afford to make idle people merry... they cost enough . The men are
tremendously disgusted by his statement. Scrooge shows that he mainly cares about
keeping his wealth to himself, he doesn t feel the need to give to others who are
less fortunate. After they continue to speak, Scrooge also states, If they would
rather die, they better do it, and decrease the surplus population . Scrooge feels that
if people are going to be poor and not have as much wealth as him, that they should
be put to work in factories, or they should just go away altogether. He mainly cares

Comparison Between Fixed Cost And Dr. Pepper-Snapple
Group
Fixed Cost On the other hand Dr. Pepper Snapple Group does have a large number
of fixed cost. Fixed costs are cost that are constant and must be paid no matter what
level of the activity is chosen. DP has over 21 manufacturing centers and 115
distribution centers around the world, according to Dr. Pepper Snapple Group s
annual report. This means that DP is paying rent on a large number of buildings,
leasing our buying equipment that they use at these facilities in order to produce DP.
Those are example of fixed cost, cost that have to be paid no matter what, this also
means that if you have a bad year and your company did not make as much as it did
the year before you still have to pay for the rent and utilities on all of those facilities.

showed to have quite an impressive year when it came to growth and profit. With
the profit of the company being up this also lead to the current stock value as
growing. This was explained both in the annual report and the current stock market
standing. In the 2014 annual report the Dr. Pepper dollar share was only up 0.1
points from the previous year. The largest amount of grown that the company
experienced was in Latin America. According to yahoo finance the stock as been
rising ever since the first of the year, closing everyday higher than the last. The
current economic profit of the Dr. Pepper Snapple group is positive, with their
current status in the market. They are able to have a positive economic profit

Antebellum Reform Dbq
In 1825 to 1855, antebellum reform movements such as asylum and prison
reforms, abolition, and women s rights led to the expansion of democratic ideals
such as equality, justice, and the common good by increasing the moral value of
the people and teaching them to become more useful members of society.
However, some reform movements such as alcohol temperance did not expand
democratic ideals because it took freedom away from the people. One way that
democratic ideals were limited socially was through the promotion of alcohol
temperance, while asylum and prison reforms expanded democratic ideals socially.
Politically, democratic ideals were also expanded through abolition by abolition
groups trying to change laws on slavery and women s rights by activists fighting
for the equality of women. Socially, reformers brought along the temperance
movement, which limited the use of alcohol in the society. Reformers believed that
alcohol would lead to the loss of money, family and the mind. In the social cartoon,

All the computers plugged in the same outlet, or into the same switch or router are
affected by the power surges. The other common culprit of internal network card
failure is malware. Given the crucial role that NIC cards play in connecting
computers to networks, network cards are a major target for malware. If malware
can get access to the network interface controller, then the hacker can gain access to
all of the networking data that passes through the computer. Technically speaking,
malware does not directly damage the physical hardware of network cards, so there
is no reason to replace the NIC hardware. What a malware does is hurt the software
(the device driver) that controls the network card, and that can effectively render the
network card faulty. If we suppose that the card is hypothetical culprit then, we will
take some action to confirm the hypothesis.
Physical test: we check the Ethernet cable (cable plugged into the card and the outlet

It is reasonable for us to illustrate how Kenya fit/ not fit in every stage in the progress.
Stage 1: The traditional society:
Kenya is a still in a traditional society stage, which is characterized by a rural
economy. Nulty (2012) also averred a pessimistic view of Kenyan current status.
According to data from the World Bank, until 2005, the agriculture sector still
trapped about 65 of its labour forces.
As learned in the class, driven by three major components in the Harrod Domar
model, the Kenya s growth can be illustrated as following.
1.Investment
Firstly, theatrically speaking, investment is vital for the development. Internally, a
country s development can be driven by high domestic savings. Externally, it can be
done by attracting foreign investment.
The saving rate of Kenya, however, owns a downward trend.
Historically, Kenyan government, in order to foster the development of domestic
firms, expelled foreign investment, and those policies further worsen the situation.
Although the exploitation from multinational corporations lessened, the economy, as
a whole, suffers by, for example, lost job opportunities provided by foreign
companies. Kinyua (2002) stated that the poor infrastructure condition in Kenya
slowed the progress of developing in agricultural sector; it also caused an impediment
of labours moving from rural to urban side. Istrate, Tsvetovat, and Acharya (2007)

Cicero On Duty Essay
Cicero s definition of duty is a term in which in this course, is far reached than what
we would have ever thought duty would stand for. Defining duty can be said to be a
commitment or obligation to someone or something that causes them to pursue a
certain action. Duty is split into two parts which consist of dealing with what is the
supreme good and second, practicing rules which are strictly regulated in all means
of daily life. Another classification of duties are duties which are middle or complete.
Complete dutyis link to being what is right . Middle duty is the reasoning behind

Other principles is that of carrying a great spirit. It would help you have courage in
your actions and for that reason you will hold honor towards yourself. When Cicero
writes about the reasons for why people have duties towards the public sphere he
believes that the individual is part of the community. He contributes it all the to belief
of Stoicism. Aristotelian is another close source in which we can speak about
duties, but Cicero s true belief was that virtues is key to duty. Stoicism is the
school of thought that holds the belief that the only way we can make sense of our
own existence is by devoting ourselves to virtues. People who follow this pathway
believe that the majority things of daily life are stuff we can t control, but yet we
can contribute our life to society in a better way. Honor is another reason why
individuals choose certain choices that lead you to be seen as a noble person in your
society. The wide picture is seen towards how the community sees the individuals
actions according to the standards in which have been placed. It doesn t seem like
an individual would ever perform a duty if honor wasn t the reward. An individual
who doesn t care for much pleasure would mostly likely seek out honor in the public
sphere. In conclusion Cicero comes up with the belief that the main stance on duty
should always be honor, because honor is the only

Descriptive Statistics Essay
Introduction to descriptive statistics help:
Definition of Statistics:
In simple terms, statistics is termed as a branch of mathematics which basically deals
with collection of data and its subsequent analysis and interpretation both
qualitatively and quantitatively. In most of the cases the data is numerical, but there
are also cases when the data is non numerical such as relationship between objects.
Without statistics, it would be difficult to maintain anything numerical in nature and
extremely difficult to go through the daily routines of life. Imagine watching a
baseball match or basket match without knowing the score of each team or imagine
going to a super mart trying to find the latest manufactured milk product without
having the manufactured date printed on the milk product carton.
The person who is well versed in statistics is called a statistician and is supposed to
have a good knowledge and understanding of the ways to collect data, maintain data,
interpret/analyse data and finally present the data.

Gun Ownership And Gun Control Laws
Gun Control No doubt, America is one of the most powerful countries and the world
s economic power, but there are still many social issues that cause numerous debates
and urgently need to be solved. For example, the increasing unemployment, racism,
inequality and gun control. In recent years, shooting accidents happen frequently in
the United States, which causes great concern about gun ownership and use in the
whole society. Generally, there are two opposite attitudes towards gun control in the
United States. On the one hand, some people firmly urge the government to restrict
gun ownership and gun rights in order to avoid gun violence and perfect gun control
laws. On the other hand, plenty of people still want to protect their rights to own
guns. The United States should put more restriction on gun ownership and use,
because safety problems, the high rate of gun related crime and the loophole of gun
control laws. Many people stress that they feel safer when carrying a gun or hiding it
in the house. One of the reasons why they expect to own it is just to protect
themselves from attacks. If an attack happens, they can protect themselves and their
property when they own a perfect self defense tool. Though their thought is
understandable and common, actually, guns bring more harm rather than more
protection from the whole perspective. In other words, people are in a more
dangerous situation with guns. Trauma found that guns in the home were more likely
to be used for gun
Strategic Direction For Joint Operations
Today s security environment is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA).
The challenges presented by globalization, emerging powers as well as the continuing
threat of terrorism indicate the future security environment will continue to gain
complexity. Adding to this complexity is the challenge of increasingly constrained
fiscal resources. To protect U.S. National Securityinterests in this complex and
constrained environment, Joint Force2025 (JF 2025) requires four core capabilities, it
must be agile, adaptable, survivable and integrated. This essay discusses the key
strategic direction for JF 2025, the capabilities required of the Joint Force, each

The National Military Strategy of the United States articulates several specific
challenges to U.S. National Security interests that will confront JF 2025. Russian
aggression toward its neighbors and defiance of international standards of behavior
threatens stability in Europe. Iranian nuclear ambitions and support of terror menaces
the Middle East. North Korea is a threat to U.S. Asian allies Japan and the Republic
of Korea. The emerging power of China offers both opportunity in the form of greater
economic cooperation but also challenges as they expand their military capabilities,
threaten Taiwan and make unreasonable claims on the South China Sea. Finally,
violent extremist organizations (VEOs) such as ISIS and al Qaida continue to
degrade regional stability and threaten U.S. interests.
The emergence of near peer competitors like China and Russia and the threat of
rouge regional powers like Iran and North Korea continue to make inter state war
conceivable for JF 2025. The threat posed by VEOs and failed states creating regional
instability keeps overseas contingency operations a likely possibility. In between
these on the Continuum of Conflict is Hybrid Conflict which combines conventional
and non conventional forces employing both traditional military force and irregular
methods including terror and cyber attacks. The challenges posed across the
Continuum of Conflict will further test JF 2025.

Payton s Babe Ruth
Is it a bird... is it a plane... it s a baseball! The game of baseball was invented by a
person by the name of Abner Doubleday in 1839. Since then, baseball has become
competitive, exciting and full of memorable moments. Baseball is one of America s
most popular sports. It takes skilled players to make the game entertaining and fun.
Some skilled players include: Jackie Robinson, Ty Cobb, Willie Mays, Lou Gehrig
and Stan Musial. But none of these players are as good as Babe Ruth. George Herman
Ruth was born on February 6, 1895 in a small house in Baltimore, Maryland.
George grew up a bum, living on the streets of the Baltimore waterfront. George
was a disrespectful kid that always ran away from school. He also smoked and
played pranks on people. One day, a man named Brother Matthias saw George s
energy and wanted to harness that energy for baseball. Matthias could hit a baseball
over the fence, using just one arm. This inspired George to play baseball. One day
in a baseball game, George was up to bat facing an inexperienced pitcher. George
started laughing and making fun of him. Matthias stopped George and told him, If
you think that you can do better, let s see you go out there and pitch. The next
inning, George went up to the mound and pitched. He had no clue how to pitch but
he threw harder than anyone in the league. A minor league team s coach saw him
play, and asked the young 19 year old to sign a contract with his team! This would be
the start of something great!
Analysis Of The Color Purple
The Past Helps Shape a Better Future According to the Ark of Hope for Children,
1,850 children die a year by some form of child abuse. Assault must be noticed,
especially because it affects so many people worldwide. The Color Purple by Alice
Walker focuses extensively on this idea and the ramifications of rape. In the novel,
the main protagonist Celie is compelled to live with a man named Mr. _____, whose
last name is unidentified in the book, who constantly makes her work in the fields
and clean the house along with taking care of his three rude children. As she reaches
her adulthood, Celie undergoes certain changes in life that ultimately guide her in the
direction of finding Godagain and rediscovering his powerful influence on everyone
s lives. Critics banned The Color Purpledue to its themes of incest, birth of children
outside of marriage, rape, sexual pleasure, and lesbian activity. Despite the sexual and
violent content in The Color Purple, the novel should be studied in high school
curriculum due to the literary elements that contribute to a reader s understanding of
real world issues.
The Color Purple develops themes of religious transformation and equality throughout
the story that are necessary for teenagers to understand due to their meaningful
lessons on human nature. Throughout the story, Celie reveals her depiction of God
as simply an ordinary white man who takes advantage of black citizens. Shug

Economic, Social, and Political Problems in the Post-Civil...
Americans suffered many economic, social, and political problems in the post
Civil War era. I have identified one of each of these types of problems that I
believe were among the most important during the period of 1865 1900. The
economic issue that I believe had one of the biggest impacts on Americans at the
time is the Great Railroad Strike of 1877. The social issue that I feel greatly affected
America after the Civil War is Chinese immigration. One of the biggest political
issues, to me, is the Populist Party. I feel that the Great Railroad Strike of 1887 was a
major issue because it made Americans realize just how deeply Americans were
invested in the railroads. At the time, the biggest investment banking firm in America,

five days of the strike, while for the Burlington Railroad the losses were at least
$2,100,000. In Pittsburgh, it was estimated that property damage reached over three
million dollars, with Chicago, Baltimore and other cities facing losses of a similar
magnitude. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Railroad_Strike) I believe that
Chinese immigration during the period after the Civil War was a very big issue
because it showed just how unwilling ordinary, white citizens were to let another
inferior race into the country. Chinese immigrants had been arriving in large
quantities starting during the mid 19th century. Most of worked as laborers, usually
on the transcontinental railroad (such as the Central Pacific Railroad) and in the

Pokemon Go Privacy Issues
The video gaming industry is one of trending newness media among social and
mobile media, and became a rival to other entertainment industries such as music and
film on generating revenue which eventually is a segment of our global economy.
According to Kline, Dyer Witheford, and De Peuter (2003) states that digital games
are considered as ideal commodities of post Fordist and global information capitalism.
Along with Games, using global positioning system (GPS) created a new genre of
entertainment, which sets up on the city streets and inside of the buildings. The users
are equipped with wearable interfaces or smart mobile devices, and migrate through
the city, collecting, conquering, and battling each other. This phenomenon indicates

Nursing and Consent

The process of consent should apply not only to surgical procedures but all clinical
procedures and examinations which involve any form of touching. This must not
mean more forms: it means more communication. As part of the process of
obtaining consent, except when they have indicated otherwise, patients should be
given sufficient information about what is to take place, the risks, uncertainties,
and possible negative consequences of the proposed treatment, about any
alternatives and about the likely outcome, to enable them to make a choice about
how to proceed. 5 Besides, if a person lacks mental capacity to give valid consent,
nurses caring for such a person should be involved in assessing the treatment to be
administered. However, they must be aware of the legislation regarding mental
capacity, ensuring that people who lack capacity remain at the centre of decision
making and are fully safeguarded. 6 The Mental Capacity Act (2005) offers
assistance regarding capacity . The Act applies to all aged 16 and above and to those
with learning disability, dementia, brain injury, autism and mental health issues. The
Act presumes capacity in relation to adults unless situation exists otherwise. It
requires extending all sorts of help to the person in question before drawing
conclusion that they cannot consent. Even an apparently unwise decision if is

Descriptive Speech About My Hometown
Luckily,I have been given an exciting position as the head of a tourism department.
Everyone loves his hometown, and I am no exception. From ancient times,My

honored to have this chance to introduce my hometown Jining to all of you.I think it
is a good city to travel. And you will love my town. Jining, located in the southwest of
Shandong, China, is one of the key industrial cites of the province. It governs two
districts, three cities and seven counties, covering an area of 11,000 square
kilometers, with a population of 8.3131 million. Here in Jining,it has four distinct

Jining, the birthplace of Confucius and Mencius, the great thinkers and educators well
known in the world, has long been praised as the Hometown of Confucius and
Mencius, the Land of Proprieties as well as the cradle of Confucianism. Confucius
Temple, Confucius Mansion and Confucius Cemetery in Qufu have been included on
the list of World Culture Heritage by UNESCO. The an nually celebrated China
(Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival attracts both domestic and foreign
friends to the holy city. Moreover, there are many other places of interest such as the

Impressions of the Meaning and Significance of African...
In his book African Religions and Philosophy professor John Mbiti continually
explains that all African cultures and societies, regardless of differences in national
origin, language, or ethnicity are deeply religious. African traditional religion is so
much a part of the African traditional heritage that it is found in every aspect of life.
Traditional religionfor the Africans is the normal way of looking at the world and
experiencing life itself. Therefore, as Mbiti interprets, A study of these religious
systems is, therefore, ultimately a study of the peoples themselves in all the
complexities of both traditional and modern life. (p.1). This statement, along with
many others similar to it in the first few pages of chapter one... Show more content on

Furthermore, it is not unusual for an African Christian to participate in Christian
religious practice by going to church on Sunday and then to participate in African
religious practice later on in the same week.
At first this was something I did not truly understand because in my religion
(Judaism) I believe we are taught to only participate in the practice/rituals of one
single faith, the Jewish faith. However, my confusion was cleared up by professor
Mbiti s following explanation:
It is not enough to learn and embrace a faith which is active once a week, either on
Sunday or Friday, while the rest of the week is virtually empty. It is not enough to
embrace a faith which is confined to a church building or mosque, which is locked
up six days and opened only once or twice a week. Unless Christianity and Islam
fully occupy the whole person as much as, if not more than, traditional religions do,
most converts to these faiths will continue to revert to their old beliefs and practices
for perhaps six days a week, and certainly in times or emergency and crisis. (p.3)
When evaluating these statements in the context of what I had learned earlier
regarding how African traditional religions permeate every aspect of a person s life,
everything in existence has actual or potential religious significance, and that there is
no dichotomy between
Star Definition Essay
In the Merriam Webster dictionary, a star is defined as a natural luminous body
visible in the sky especially at night. Stars make up the brightest masses in the
universe. Take the sun for instance, a big fiery ball of gas that provides light and
life to the whole entire world. In the biblical story of the Magi, the three wise men
follow a shining star which leads them to their light and savior, Jesus Christ, a
baby who brings brightness to the whole world. A star is more than just a ball of
gas, a star is a sign of hope, dreams, and courage. A star is the light at the end of the
tunnel that makes the world just a little bit happier, a little bit stronger, and a little bit
brighter, and no matter how small, one star can still brighten a midnight... Show more

When we are so separated by hate and fear, darkness can take over and finding a
community that accepts everybody can be difficult. However, I have found an
inclusive community in Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is an organization
that accepts everybody regardless of what differences people may have. They accept
each and every star of the universe and make a galaxy that shines bright through the
darkness. As a unified basketball partner, I do not volunteer for service hours or
special recognition. I am not a hero, I am not special, I am only doing what makes
me and the people around me happy and I can truly see that although I am small, I
can shine bright and make a big impact.
However, I think that the biggest impact is made by the athletes themselves. Each
and every one of the people that I have now come to call some of my bestfriends
has taught me something about bravery, courage, and hard work. Everyday they
face obstacles that I could not even imagine but always come to basketball with the
best attitudes and always work their hardest. They truly make my world brighter on a
day to day basis with their jokes, smiles, and positive attitudes. In just playing a
simple game of basketball as a team, I have learned more than I think I will anywhere
The Causes Of The Failure Of Capitalism In The Jungle
By...
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair was written to expose the brutality faced by the
workers in the meatpacking industry. He wanted to show people what was really
going on in the factory because few people were informed about these companies
work conditions . He wanted to show the public that meat was diseased, rotten, and
contaminated. This revelation shocked the public which later led to the creation of
the federal laws on food and safety. Sinclair strongly shows the failure of capitalism
in the meatpacking industry which he viewed as inhuman, destructive, unjust,
brutal, and violent. (Middlebury) Sinclair was an American writer born in
Baltimore. He was struggling to live a basic life, and he started reading about
socialism. He believed that America would vote for peaceful negations , So the
government will take ownership of its business. He then joined the socialist party in
1903, He began to write for the company Appeal To Reason which was a socialist
magazine. The meatpacking company workers went on strikes, the strikes broke
quickly because the company replaced the workers. This, kept the line running and
the other families became Impoverished . After this incident , the Appeal to Reason
suggested him to write about the strikes. He went to Chicago to research about the
conditions of the workers, and he personally interviewed the workers in the factories
. Later his writing became very famous and contained obvious basia. The effect of
these books led Roosevelt

The Santa Fe s stylish interior offers a strong indication of what you ll find once you
slip behind the wheel of this SUV. Seat surfaces in the SE model are covered in Yes

leather with that material wrapping the steering wheel and covering the shift knob.
Other textures offered include wood grain, plastics, and soft touch materials.
The power operated driver s seat was easy to configure and comes with lumbar
support. The driver s seat offers eight settings, while the front passenger seat supplies
four settings.
Second row passengers will find a standard 40 20 40 split folding bench seat
offering superior head and legroom and very good shoulder and hip room. Both
Limited editions replace the seat with a pair of captain s chairs, rivaling the front
seats in comfort. You lose a seat placement here, but the third row passengers gain
more room to maneuver. Speaking of the last row, space is confined and best left to
young passengers.
The 2017 Santa Fe should be a family favorite and is a compelling option to the Kia
Sedona minivan. Each door has storage pockets and drink holders. There are also
additional cup holders for each row and multiple storage cubbies present (including
under the rear cargo area).

The Struggle Of Gay Rights
The struggle between Edward and Bella in the Twilight Saga can be closely related
to the struggle of gay right s in today s society. During the whole entire saga
Edward and Bella have to fight to keep their relationship with one another. This is
similar to what the LGBT community has been doing for many years now. In the
Twilight Saga some of the characters do not believe that Edward and Bella should
be with one another because he is a vampire and she is a human. Similarly in today
s society some people do not believe that people of the same sex should be in a
relationship or marry one another. The biggest factor that plays into why people
believe and think this way is because of the unknown factor of it all, they have it very

The fact that they thought that this was a mental disorder was very wrong, and it
also shows how close minded people are. Just because one is different, or loves
differently than another person, does not mean that they have a mental illness. If it
did, we would be claiming that a lot of people have mental illnesses. More recently
things that have happened for the LGBT community is that on April 1st of 1998,
Coretta Scott King who was formally Martin Luther King Jr. s wife, now a widow,
stood up and called on the civil rights community to help her join the struggle for
the LGBT community ( PBS ). She received lots of criticism for this because she
was comparing civil rights to gay rights. The representatives of the black civil rights
movement thought that this was wrong of her ( PBS ). The stance of the African
American Community is hard to believe. One would assume that African Americans
might be somewhat more accepting of others considering that they too have gone
through the struggle and know what it feels like to be treated unfairly, but in this case
that was not necessarily true.
Finally, in 2008 on May 18th, Massachusetts became the very first state to legalize
gay marriage in the United States of America. The court finally was able to see that
denying the LGBT community the right to marry was unconstitutional because it
denied people their dignity as well as
Mother Teres The Spiritual Leader
Mother Teresa the spiritual leader was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu on August 26,
1910, in the city of Skopje. From her childhood, it was vibrant that she was haggard
to serving the underprivileged and needy. Her mother, sincerely pious and dedicated
to assisting and supporting others, frequently took Agnes with her when she
distributed food and clothing to the unfortunate and deprived. These practices, united
with her holy learning, headed her to adopt, to become a nun and work with the poor
at a young age of twelve (Parks).
As a beginning she went to a sodality, a Roman Catholic association, where she

In 1929, she procured her swears, and the title Sister Teresa. She selected the

When a Christian reacts and have faith in the announcement of God instigation or
vocation in the Church, they state to it a call. On September 10, 1946, while
travelling to Darjeeling, Sister Teresa received what she designated a call within a

leave the nunnery and serve the poor while living amid them. It was Almighty s

she desired to do. It procured two years for her appeal to be approved. In 1948, she
started her effort as Mother Teresa, in Calcutta. She left the instruction of the Sisters
of Loreto and began what developed, in 1950, her own command, the Missionaries of

she and all the followers would attire, a white sari, finished of stiff cloth and
bordered in blue, with a cross on the shoulder.
From the establishment of her effort, Mother Teresa s ethics were strong and firm.

Pi Human Communication Quotes
The blackness would stir and eventually go away, and God would remain, a shining
point of light in my heart. (Martel 232) Human communication is essential because
without it, people will start to be deprived of their humanity. Humanity is the
characteristics that belong to humans like love, compassion, sympathy, mercy, etc.
Isolation from humans and not being able to have any human communication or
contact, will lead to losing the sense of humanity in a person. I didn t have pity to
spare for long for the zebra. When your own life is threatened, your sense of
empathy is blunted by a terrible, selfish hunger for survival. (Martel 133) Pi loses the
compassion that he would have once had for the zebra. Without any human

has hunter s pride now. This displays how Pi loses a part of his morality because of
the decisions that he had to make in order to survive because he did not have
anyone to confide in or talk to in order to stay grounded to who he is. He gave me
life, my own, but at the expense of taking one. He ripped the flesh off the man s

effects of the Gold Rush in the California. And how did that change the people,
economic, political and environmental effects. The Gold Rush is a rapid movement
of people to a newly discovered Goldfield. Gold rush was arguably one of the most
significant events to build American history during the first half of the 19th century.
Thousands of gold miners traveled by the sea and over the land of San Francisco and
the surrounding area. In January 1848, James Wilson Marshall discovered gold along

Most of these were white men who came from New England. However, Native
Americans, free blacks, and enslaved African Americans also worked the mines.
Thousands of experienced miners came from Sonora in Mexico. Other foreign
miners came from Europe, South America, Australia, and China. Most of the
Chinese miners were peasant farmers who fled from a region that had suffered
several crop failures. By the end of 1851, one of every 10 immigrants was the
Chinese who used to backbreaking labor in their homeland, the Chinese proved to
be patient miners. They would take over sites that American miners had abandoned
because the easy gold was gone. Tough steady, hard work, the Chinese made these
played out sites yield profits. American miners resented the success of the Chinese
and were suspicious of their different foods, dress, and customs. As the numbers of
Chinese miners grew, American anger toward them also increased. A mixture of
greed, anger caused some miners to cheat others. One the easy to find gold was
gone, American miners began to force Native Americans and foreigners such as
Mexicans and Chinese out of the gold fields to reduce competition. This practice
increased after California became a state in 1850. Also the consequences of the gold
miners made government make new legislation. One of the first acts of the
California state legislature was to pass the foreign miners Tax, which imposed a tax
of 20 bucks in a month on miners from other countries. That was
George Zimmerman Slaughter Case Study
This case gave me an insight on things I never expected to be true I never knew a
person could get away with murder/manslaughter. This case was greatly affected by
race. George Zimmerman saw a young black man going home and for some reason
thought he was a threat he probably sterotyped Trayvon, the moment he saw him.
There was no reason to pull a gun Zimmerman was much bigger than Trayvon if
there was a scuffle. Also since Zimmerman was never charged he has gone on to hurt
other people such. George Zimmerman has anger issues and should have had more
extensive screening. This has been proven by the following incidents:
On July 31, 2016, Zimmerman called the Seminole County Sheriff s Department to
report that he had been punched in the face at Gators Riverside Grille in
Sanford.[56]Zimmerman told investigators that he had been identified, and then
assaulted by another patron at the restaurant who accused him of bragging about
killing Trayvon Martin.[57]On November 9, 2016, Zimmerman was removed from a
bar after yelling at a waitress. A deputy on the scene said Zimmerman used a racial
slur before he left. Zimmerman stated he intended to sue the Seminole County Sheriff
s Office. ( George Zimmerman. Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, n.d. Web. 20...

Seis Decisiones Que Tu Gente de It No Debe Hacer.

tecnolГіgico. Para ayudar a los altos directivos de TI a evitar desastres y a generar
valor real de las inversiones de TI se ofrecen 6 decisiones que se deben asumir.
1. ВїCuГЎnto debemos gastar en ella?
The Kolb Experiential Learning Theory (1984) Drives A
Large
The Kolb Experiential Learning theory (1984) drives a large component of my
instructional plans. According to Kolb (1984), a person learns through experience
and discovery. This theory is built around a learning cycle that involves 4 principles:
1) concrete experience, 2) reflective experience, 3) abstract conceptualization, and 4)
active experimentation. Educators initially provide learners with opportunities to use
concrete resources in learningabout new concepts. Students then review their learning
and reflect on the experience. This is followed by the opportunity to form abstract
ideas using the new concepts and finally testing the concepts in new circumstances
and situations.
The following is an example of my application of ... Show more content on

In support of the Kolb learning cycle, I employ the principles of Mayer s
Multimedia Cognitive Theory (2014) and provide my students with a wide variety
of resources that support the fourth grade curriculum. According to Mayer (2015),
students learn better with multimedia messages designed to reflect the workings of
the human mind. The theory is based on 3 principles: 1) we receive messages best
when they are delivered through two channels (audio/visual), 2) each of these
channels has a limited capacity for delivery, and 3) learning is a process that takes
place through filtering, organization, integration of knowledge based on prior
knowledge.
Our school has a subscription to IXL, an online math program that provides extensive
opportunities for practice through effective and engaging audio visual activities. Each
student has an individual account. The program follows Nova Scotia math outcomes
and is divided by grade level and math strand. I assign specific activities within the
corresponding math strand. I am able to track student achievement levels in
successfully demonstrating understanding of determining area through this program.
IXL is an effective tool that provides the practice needed to enable students to move
the new math concept of determining area from reception through processing to long
term memory.
I also use the constructivism model as an extension to determining the area of a
rectangular surface. Through constructivism, students construct their

  • 1. What Is An Informative Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "What Is An Informative Essay" may present its own set of challenges. Firstly, defining the characteristics of an informative essay requires a thorough understanding of the genre. It's not merely about conveying information; rather, it involves presenting facts, data, and details in a clear and organized manner. Striking the right balance between being informative and engaging can be challenging. Another hurdle could be ensuring that the essay remains focused on providing valuable information without veering into opinionated territory. Keeping objectivity intact while still maintaining the reader's interest requires a delicate touch. Additionally, structuring the essay appropriately – with a compelling introduction, well-organized body paragraphs, and a concise conclusion – is crucial for effective communication. Research is a fundamental aspect of an informative essay. Gathering accurate and reliable information from credible sources demands time and effort. Evaluating the credibility of sources and synthesizing the information coherently can be a daunting task. Furthermore, achieving clarity in writing is essential. Balancing the use of jargon and simplifying complex ideas for a broader audience can be challenging. The language must be accessible while maintaining the integrity of the information presented. • 2. Essay on The Tollund Man The Tollund Man The Tollund Man is one of Europe s best known bog bodies. He was found, alongside The Grauballe Man in the early 1950s. Bog bodies recovered from the past are quite wide spread throughout Northern Europe, especially in Denmark, Germany and Ireland. The peat perfectly preserves the bodies due to anaerobic conditions, although the bodies are found blackened, their fingertips, hair and clothing are all still intact. Seamus Heaney uses the bog bodies in his poetry to uncover, in their meditations, a history of Ireland s conquest, first by Viking s and later by the English . Tollund Man opens quietly and effectively like Glob s initial description, an evocative and poetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The way he was found, Naked except for the cap, noose and girdle makes it sound as though he was stripped of all his pocessions, defenceless, and suggests that he was strangled or hanged by the noose around his neck. Later in the poem Heaney says that The Tollund Man , rode the tumbril which was a cart that took people to their death by punishment for example the guillotine, this also backs up the idea that The Tollund Man was killed in rather gruesome circumstances. The third stanza, Bridegroom to the goddess is describing the bog as the goddess of fertility, this is personification. Glob argues that some of the Iron Age people dug out of the bogs of Jutland were ritual sacrifices: their murder in winter, and the disposal of their bodies in bogs sacred to the goddess, would ensure the fertility of the crops the following spring . This is why The Tollund Man s burial and preservation is described in sexual terms, open her fen . Those dark juices working/Him to a saint s kept body describes how the bog preserves the body perfectly. Also, it suggests The Tollund Man is like a saint as in the Catholic religion, saints bodies are said not to decay. I could risk blasphemy…our holy ground shows The Tollund Man s power over Heaney, he can compel a religious reaction outside the norms of
  • 3. Malcolm X The Ballot Or The Bullet Speech The Ballot or the Bullet Malcolm Little was a Muslim minister born on May 19 of 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1946, he was convicted and sent to prison for burglary. Behind bars Malcolm began to read and educate himself. He then converted to Black Muslim faith. Later he joined the Nation of Islam (NOI), a religious Islamic movement founded in Detroit, and changed his name to Malcolm X to eliminate a part of his identity he called a white imposed slave name. Six years later Malcolm was released. The Nation of Islam was founded by Wallace Fard. Once Fard disappeared Elijah Muhammad took leadership. NOI preached adherence and reliance on other African Americans. When Malcolm made his personal conversion Elijah Muhammad recognized his talents and made him a leading spokesman and recruiter for the Black Muslims. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later, on April 3, 1964 he gave the now famous The Ballot or the Bullet speech in at King Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit, which he had also given nine days earlier at a Cory Methodist Church in Cleveland. It was significant because it was meant to reach out to moderate civil rights leaders. He advised African Americans to judiciously exercise their right to vote. Malcolm did not discuss religious differences instead he stressed the common suffering to all African Americans. Malcolm X believed in action on all fronts by whatever means necessary. His speech was given to bring understanding to the political oppression, economic exploitation, and social degradation at the hands of the white man . Malcolm X was anti exploitation, anti degradation, and anti oppression. He is not anti Democrat, nor anti Republican but he questioned their sincerity and some of the strategy they were using on African American people by promising promises that they did not intend to
  • 4. The Right to Die with Dignity and without Pain Dr. Jack Kevorkian was charged with second degree murder and served an eight year prison sentence. (Fridstein. 1). This accomplished physician graduated from the University of Michigan with an impressively high IQ. He was a writer, inventor, movie producer and classical composer. (Kevorkian). Why would a man so intelligent and successful end up in jail for murder? Well believe or not he purposely challenged the legal system in a one man crusade to ignite a national discussion on the subjects of assisted suicide, Euthanasia and one s constitutional right to choose. Euthanasia is a medical procedure that involves a person being induced with a soothing, relaxing medicine that allows them a peaceful passing. Dr. Kevorkian s attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, summed it up best when he said, We re just talking about the right not of children and not of mentally incompetent people but the right of mentally competent adults to make decisions about their own bodies as to how much suffering they have to undergo. (Kevorkian). Euthanasia is not for people experiencing temporary illness or unhappiness. It s for people who are imprisoned by their own unbearable physical pain for the rest of their lives with no way out. Is it fair to not give those people a choice? Is it fair to make them slowly deteriorate while losing their dignity? I think not. That is why I support euthanasia being legalized, Dying is not a crime. (Fridstein. 1). It s understandable that some of us are bound by religious
  • 5. Stop Traffic On Galbraith Road And Preventing Tour Buses... Construction can have a large impact on its surroundings, including local residents, pedestrians and vehicular traffic depending on the site s location. For example, many of the sites visited in Toronto affected traffic as they had frequent deliveries and had to stop traffic to allow this. This includes the Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto where frequent trucks enter and exit to remove excavated soil (***Special Lecture***), stopping trafficon Galbraith Road and preventing tour buses from enterring. On the other hand, outside the city, construction has far less of an impact as there are often multiple lanes for traffic, and little or no pedestriantraffic. When building in Toronto then, it is important to minimize construction s effect on pedestrians, vehicle traffic, and local residents if present, since these parties are all impacted by the decisions made on site. In our site visits, we examined many sites at varying stages of completion, and noticed how some of them dealt with construction s effect on the surroundings, as will be discussed here: Yorkville Plaza II (YP2) 21 Yorkville Avenue Developer: Camrost Felcorp This site is located in the heart of Toronto s affluent Yorkville neighbourhood, and will be the home of a 40 storey condo building. It has a luffing crane on site, so overhead protection had to be installed for pedestrians on Avenue Road in the form of wooden boards. These wooden boards were placed on

The land which seems to be a heaven with great work, little white houses, and many acres of land. But the Joads soon find out that California may not be the paradise they dreamed of. Their journey to California will be full of hope and despair along with keeping their dignity in the midst of all the wrath. One of the biggest problems they will face is how poorly they will be treated. The one thing that made the Joads successful is that they stuck together as a family and supported each other. . These things mentioned above reoccur throughout the novel. These are some of themes in the Grapes of Wrath. In the novel The Grapes of Wrath the themes of hope and... The Joad s find a barn to stay in because their boxcar was beginning to flood. There was a starving old man in the barn and Rose of Sharon Brest feeds him. Another theme in the Grapes of Wrath is keeping your dignity in the midst of Wrath. Along the journey to California and even once they arrived they had a lot of unhappiness which turns into wrath. They always had to worry about did they have enough money. Was that money going to last them to buy the food that they needed. The Joad s also had to worry about did they have some where to live and a job. They had jobs but none of them knew how long that job was going to last, once the job was done they were out of work. Many families were angry because they were so full of wrath but the Joad s keep their dignity throughout all their struggles. Near the end of the book women watched their families work and they truly thought that all of their self respect came from if their husbands had wrath. The women thought they would remain strong as long as they had wrath. At the very end of the book is where the Joad s dignity even though they had had so many bad experiences shines through. Three member of the group had dropped out, Rose of Sharon give birth to a dead baby, and no one had a job but still they let kindness show through them. • 7. Richard I Biography Richard the I is a famous King of England that was alive in the 12th century, and one of the earliest monarchs of England. He was the Great Great Grandson of William the Conqueror(Brundage, 10). He was a member of the House of Angevin, which was composed of him, his father, and his brother John(Brundage, 12). He is a relatively famous King of England, renowned for his fighting skills, and nickname Richard Coeur de Lion translated Richard the Lionheart . Richard was born on the 8th of September, 1157 in Oxford, England(Brundage, 9). He was the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine(Brundage, 9). He had 4 legitimate brothers, William IX(Count of Poitiers), Henry the Young King, Geoffrey II(Duke of Brittany), and John(King of England)(Brundage, 10). William IX died before Richard was born. Richard grew up in Europe with his mother. He most likely did not know very much English and spoke mostly French(Brundage, 21). At the age of 14, he became the Duke of Aquitaine, an area of land in the southwest of France controlled by his mother. Richard learnt most of his battle skills in Aquitaine, and this is really where he became the warrior we see later on in his life. ADD THESIS. When considering the effect that Richard may have had on England and Europe as a whole, we need to look at what he did. Richard... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Richard, as we have seen, was a great warrior. This was probably one of the major reasons why we still remember him today. He was given the name Richard the Lionheart as a testament to his fighting skills. The name Richard the Lionheart probably captured many people s attentions throughout history, because of its fear and power associated with such a name. The name also allows for a romanticization of the Kings of England, because the name Lionheart could easily be thought of as a brave man in shining armour heading out to save a
  • 8. Abraham Lincoln s Meditations On The Letter M Jacob Eshet Professor Cinda Kane English 1101 September 8, 2015 Meditations on the Letter M The points of the letter M represent an important aspect of life. We strive for high achievements, but everyone eventually falls. Part of life is working to rise above again, as shown in the shape of M. I can relate to this letter I ve always worked hard in school to attain high grades, but I have occasionally faltered and run into a strong of failures; I ve learned to work even harder and achieve success. In history and current times, many have gone through failure to work their way up to success again. M is about persistence in accomplishing goals, accepting and adjusting to change, and being able to bounce back from failures in life. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone will encounter failure on their way to success. Without failure, we cannot grow and succeed it teaches us how to improve ourselves. In history, for example, Abraham Lincoln went through many failures before becoming one of the United States greatest presidents. He was demoted quickly in the military and lost many elections in his career, but continued to work until he had risen to presidency (Wilson). Another example is J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the Harry Potter series. She went through many struggles in her life, each time adjusting and eventually working her way up to huge success and wealth (Gillet). In her book, Very Good Lives, Rowling describes how to embrace failure and improve yourself. There are many other well known people in history with similar experiences. Walt Disney was fired for a lack of imagination, Sir Isaac Newton failed to run his farm, Thomas Edison was fired several times for being unproductive, and Albert Einstein had difficulty in school all of these people and many more, at some point of their life, encountered failure and had to learn to accept it to achieve success. In my experience, this also applied in school. Although I always went for the highest grades, there were some times when I had a string of low grades. I learned to accept failure and learn from it, along with adjusting to change, to work my way back up to success in
  • 9. Role Of Thought Police In George Orwell s 1984 The novel 1984 written by Gorge Orwell is a satire about the socialist dictatorships of Russia and Germany. 1984 was written as a look into the future if political powers adopted a totalitarian government. The Government of 1984 is a totalitarian socialist dictatorship. The names of the government system are INGSOC or The Party. The totalitarian dictatorship, INGSOC, maintains and abuses power through the Thought Police, newspeak, and technology. The Thought Police are members of The Party who watched everybody all the time to see if they are acting against The Party (Orwell 3). Thought crimes include thinking an anti Party thought, writing in a journal, and physically acting against The Party. Thought Police help INGSOC maintain power because anyone who goes against The Party, even thinks an anti party thought, will be vaporized or tortured into supporting the government. INGSOC and the Thought Police encouraged children to turn in their parents for thought crime. The Thought Police help The Party maintain power by killing or brainwashing people who act against INGSOC.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Syme gives a description of Newspeak, in which he articulates that the words being taken out of the language are anti Party words. The reduction of anti party words means that The Party is making thought crime literally impossible (Orwell 52). Newspeak will also limit the range of thought by changing definitions of words. A definition change makes words only be useable in certain context and unable to be used to negatively describe The Party. Newspeak s shrinking vocabulary helps The Party maintain power because anti party words are completely extinguished; causing people to be unable to start revolts and commit thought
  • 10. Strain Theory Essay Robert Agnew is known for his general strain theory. The theory explains that the basis of people getting involved in criminal activity is because of strain. If someone becomes upset, frustrated, depressed, or mistreated they will turn to crime in order to deal with the feelings. Yet, not all people turn to crimein order to deal with strain or stressors. There are different ways to measure strain. Subjective strains are those strains that are disliked by particular person or group. This approached is aimed at how the person reacts to the way they are treated. The second approach is called the objective view. During this approach the researches will as individuals how much they would dislike a specific event. Strains come in three major... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, according to Cullen (2006), A strain is more likely to be seen as severe if it is high in degree or size; it is frequent, recent, of long duration, and expected to continue in the future; it threatens the core goals, needs, values, activities, and/or identities of the individual (p. 204). Moreover the presentation of negative stimuli can come from receiving negative treatment. For example, the individual has been abused by a love one either physically or sexually. These bad feelings create pressure for corrective action; we want to do something so what we will not feel so bad (Simpson, 2000, p.109). In consequence, the juvenile is more than likely to turn revenge and his actions will drive him to criminal activity. There are several ways to deal with the strain and negative emotions, many which include crime (Simpson, 2000). • 14. Socrates View On Happiness To achieve happiness, there is no set action to take in order to feel it. I feel as if happiness can be reached in an unjust society. It is up to an individual to find their own happiness. An individual has to make the best out of what they have. It has been proven time and time again, that it is okay to be different. It is when people are different when things start to change for society. When everyone stays the same, everything stays the same. Just like Socrates questioning anything and everything to attempt to fulfill his life, how the Greeks used theater to make life less serious, and the use of certain coping mechanisms used in today s society. Socrates was known to be one of the founders of western philosophy. For most of his time he was a well known character, expounding his philosophy of life in the streets of Athens to anyone who cared to listen (Grube, pg. ix). Socrates spent his life questioning absolutely anything and everything. That is how he fulfilled his life. He knew that nothing was certain, and that is what made him happy. He lived in a society that he thought was unjust, yet he found a way to have happiness. Socrates knew that what we know as humans is not accurate, and he was determined to try and figure out anything he could. He may not have known why he did what he did, or he may not know that it makes him happy, but that is what he did to pursue his definition of happiness. Throughout the Greek age, drama became a huge role in society. According to Backman,In other societies such as Egypt, there was no such thing as a play or comedy. The first five stages of Erikson s theory, which he notes as crisis, are trust versus mistrust, autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative versus guilt, industry versus inferiority, and identity versus role confusion. The first four personal spaces, of Wilber s theory are the archaic, the magical, or egocentric, the mythical, and the rational. Erikson s theory states that an emotional crisis must be successfully met for normal development. Wilber s theory is similar in that he uses an example of a multiple story building. If one stage isn t completely understood, but not mastered, then that floor will end up leaning, and a building like that cannot be sustained for long before its structural integrity is compromised. Erikson s theory is based that social interactions were the most important thing to consider for healthy development of children. The first stage, starting from infancy on to 1 year of age, has the crisis of trust versus mistrust. This just means that they develop either of these skills based on how well their needs are taken care of. The next crisis starts at 1 year of age up to 3 years of age, toddler age. The love of money can make mankind greedy and hateful, but wealth can also be used for thoughtful and generous purposes. His view goes hand in hand with the teachings of the Bible. In A ChristmasCarol, Scrooge shows that his love of money makes him selfish and full of greed, but once he is shown his past, present, future he realizes his ways and changes them to help others, and he specifically embraces the Cratchit family in many ways. As it is shown in A Christmas Carol, Scrooge is a man that cares mainly about his wealth. In the beginning of the story he is asked to give money to the less fortunate and destitute, his response is shocking, Scrooge says, ... I can t afford to make idle people merry... they cost enough . The men are tremendously disgusted by his statement. Scrooge shows that he mainly cares about keeping his wealth to himself, he doesn t feel the need to give to others who are less fortunate. After they continue to speak, Scrooge also states, If they would rather die, they better do it, and decrease the surplus population . Since then, baseball has become competitive, exciting and full of memorable moments. Baseball is one of America s most popular sports. It takes skilled players to make the game entertaining and fun. Some skilled players include: Jackie Robinson, Ty Cobb, Willie Mays, Lou Gehrig and Stan Musial. But none of these players are as good as Babe Ruth. George Herman Ruth was born on February 6, 1895 in a small house in Baltimore, Maryland. George grew up a bum, living on the streets of the Baltimore waterfront. George was a disrespectful kid that always ran away from school. He also smoked and played pranks on people. One day, a man named Brother Matthias saw George s energy and wanted to harness that energy for baseball. Matthias could hit a baseball over the fence, using just one arm. This inspired George to play baseball. One day in a baseball game, George was up to bat facing an inexperienced pitcher. George started laughing and making fun of him. Matthias stopped George and told him, If you think that you can do better, let s see you go out there and pitch. The next inning, George went up to the mound and pitched. He had no clue how to pitch but he threw harder than anyone in the league. A minor league team s coach saw him play, and asked the young 19 year old to sign a contract with his team! This would be the start of something great!

The economic issue that I believe had one of the biggest impacts on Americans at the time is the Great Railroad Strike of 1877. The social issue that I feel greatly affected America after the Civil War is Chinese immigration. One of the biggest political issues, to me, is the Populist Party. At first this was something I did not truly understand because in my religion (Judaism) I believe we are taught to only participate in the practice/rituals of one single faith, the Jewish faith. However, my confusion was cleared up by professor Mbiti s following explanation: It is not enough to learn and embrace a faith which is active once a week, either on Sunday or Friday, while the rest of the week is virtually empty. It is not enough to embrace a faith which is confined to a church building or mosque, which is locked up six days and opened only once or twice a week. Unless Christianity and Islam fully occupy the whole person as much as, if not more than, traditional religions do, most converts to these faiths will continue to revert to their old beliefs and practices for perhaps six days a week, and certainly in times or emergency and crisis. This practice increased after California became a state in 1850. Also the consequences of the gold miners made government make new legislation. One of the first acts of the California state legislature was to pass the foreign miners Tax, which imposed a tax of 20 bucks in a month on miners from other countries. That was

This case was greatly affected by race. George Zimmerman saw a young black man going home and for some reason thought he was a threat he probably sterotyped Trayvon, the moment he saw him. There was no reason to pull a gun Zimmerman was much bigger than Trayvon if there was a scuffle. Also since Zimmerman was never charged he has gone on to hurt other people such. George Zimmerman has anger issues and should have had more extensive screening. This has been proven by the following incidents: On July 31, 2016, Zimmerman called the Seminole County Sheriff s Department to report that he had been punched in the face at Gators Riverside Grille in Sanford.[56]Zimmerman told investigators that he had been identified, and then assaulted by another patron at the restaurant who accused him of bragging about killing Trayvon Martin.[57]On November 9, 2016, Zimmerman was removed from a bar after yelling at a waitress. A deputy on the scene said Zimmerman used a racial slur before he left. Zimmerman stated he intended to sue the Seminole County Sheriff s Office. ( George Zimmerman. Wikipedia. Zimmerman probably approached him because he felt he was up to no good whether he likes it or not he did judge on race. Money was also a factor in this case George Zimmerman was not short on any of it as his wife tried to hide the number of funds they had and was she was later charged with a misdemeanor and had to do a hundred hours of community service. Shellie Zimmerman said in September of 2013 that she has doubts about his innocence in the Trayvon Martin case. (Almasy, Steve) This case caused a great uproar in the community and made people bring up the inequalities they still face

ВїCuГЎnto debemos gastar en TI? 2.ВїQuГ© procesos de negocios deben recibir nuestros ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1. ВїCuГЎnto debemos gastar en ella? According to Kolb (1984), a person learns through experience and discovery. This theory is built around a learning cycle that involves 4 principles: 1) concrete experience, 2) reflective experience, 3) abstract conceptualization, and 4) active experimentation. Educators initially provide learners with opportunities to use concrete resources in learningabout new concepts. Students then review their learning and reflect on the experience. This is followed by the opportunity to form abstract ideas using the new concepts and finally testing the concepts in new circumstances and situations. The following is an example of my application of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In support of the Kolb learning cycle, I employ the principles of Mayer s Multimedia Cognitive Theory (2014) and provide my students with a wide variety of resources that support the fourth grade curriculum. According to Mayer (2015), students learn better with multimedia messages designed to reflect the workings of the human mind. The theory is based on 3 principles: 1) we receive messages best when they are delivered through two channels (audio/visual), 2) each of these channels has a limited capacity for delivery, and 3) learning is a process that takes place through filtering, organization, integration of knowledge based on prior knowledge. Our school has a subscription to IXL, an online math program that provides extensive opportunities for practice through effective and engaging audio visual activities. Each student has an individual account. The program follows Nova Scotia math outcomes and is divided by grade level and math strand. I assign specific activities within the corresponding math strand. I am able to track student achievement levels in successfully demonstrating understanding of determining area through this program. IXL is an effective tool that provides the practice needed to enable students to move the new math concept of determining area from reception through processing to long term memory. I also use the constructivism model as an extension to determining the area of a rectangular surface. Through constructivism, students construct their
