Figure Skating Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of figure skating poses its own set of unique challenges. First
and foremost, the complexity lies in capturing the intricacies of this graceful and dynamic sport
in written form. Describing the fluid movements, the artistry, and the technical precision
involved requires a delicate balance between vivid imagery and precise technical details.
Moreover, delving into the history and evolution of figure skating adds another layer of
complexity. Unraveling the sport's origins, its cultural significance, and the evolution of
techniques demand thorough research and a keen understanding of the subject matter. Striking a
balance between providing historical context and keeping the narrative engaging for the reader is
no easy feat.
The technical aspects of figure skating, such as the various jumps, spins, and footwork, introduce
yet another layer of challenge. Communicating the intricacies of these maneuvers without
overwhelming the reader with jargon necessitates a skillful use of language and explanation.
Additionally, incorporating the personal stories and journeys of figure skaters, both past, and
present, adds depth to the essay. Balancing the technical aspects with the emotional and human
elements of the sport requires finesse to create a well-rounded and engaging narrative.
In conclusion, writing an essay on figure skating involves navigating through a myriad of
challenges – from capturing the poetry of motion to delving into the technical intricacies,
historical evolution, and personal stories of those involved. It's a task that requires a careful
blend of creativity, research, and a deep appreciation for the sport.

Research Paper On Charlie Chaplin
Lights, Camera, Action! A common phrase we all know today. Three simple
words said by so many of the greats! The famous words uttered by the greatest silent
film star, Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin has blessed the lives of many throughout his
eighty or so years of life. Chaplin isn t a war hero neither does he risk his life for
others. Chaplin is a hero in his own way. He spent his life entertaining others,
making them laugh, cry, or even getting them riled up. Chaplin was able to
overcome childhood struggles and impact society with his films while becoming the
Hollywood icon we all know today. Beloved childhood cartoons like Tom Jerry and
Laurel Hardy actually found their inspiration from a certain baggy trousered man,

to fend for themselves. Their father has left them many years prior, so they were
completely alone. They spent the next several years in and out of workhouses.
They slept either on the streets or in sed workhouses. Later on, to make more
money, they joined a group of clog dancers. They toured all over! Germany,
Scotland, and finally America, Charlie loved it there. Charlie and Sydney left and

Factors That Influence The Sustainability Of A Company
General Environment Outside factors can influence the sustainability of a company
regardless of the internal structure within the business. Some factors in the general
environment that companies should be aware of include demographics, social,
economic, political, and others. Understanding how each of these factors can impact
the company allows management to make changes within the company for maximum
success. At Tesla, the political, economic, and technological factors greatly impact
the efficiency of the company. Demographic When the Roadster model was released
in 2011 the market demographic was the upper class with a target audience geared
towards Early Adapters and Eco Hipsters. With headquarters located in Silicon Valley,

Political Political factors that can impact the company range from an increase in
oil prices to environmental laws. Tesla s customer base is not limited to the United
States. The company has custom made and delivered the Roadster, Model S, and
Model X to customers worldwide. In order to comply with global environmental
laws, the team at Tesla must produce a vehicle that adheres to all requirements of
environmental laws set in place by governments around the world. Countries such as,
Canada and Norway are encouraging citizens to purchase energy efficient vehicles
through offering incentives and discounts to reduce their country s carbon footprint.
Other laws that have impacted Tesla include, a California law, that reduced Elon
Musk s annual salary to a mere $35,360 dollars because of annualized minimum
wage requirements . Technological The technological factors within the general
environment might be the most influential of all. Tesla is known for delivering a
vehicle that is above and beyond the standard EV. Every model is made with high
quality products that offer a sleek design, maximum acceleration, and futuristic
technology. Tesla s location in Silicon Valley allows for the collaboration of Musk s
other companies to yield further research and development. With energy efficiency at
the forefront of the company s objectives, Tesla has been diligently working to
provide consumers with 100% solar powered super charging stations
Essay on James Baldwin

History 228: African American History

February 10, 2012 James A. Baldwin
James A. Baldwin, a homosexual African American novelist, was once quoted
saying that the most dangerous creation of any society is the man who has nothing
to lose. What it means is that society s chief concern should be a person who has
absolutely nothing to lose by always sticking to their beliefs, yet everything to gain.
James Baldwin embodies that quote to the absolute fullest. Not only did he push the
boundaries with his works in novels and articles on racial and sexual matters, but he
also was a key component in the civil rights movement and that s why James Baldwin
was important in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The novel resembles Baldwin s childhood a lot based on the fact that the novels
central theme is about a young man named John Grimes who is the innocent victim
of his father, a religious man steeped in disgust and narrowness. It relates to
Baldwin s childhood because he was the innocent victim of a father whom was
religious and had a lot of hatred as well. It s a milestone in the development of
American literature because it is the first novel and/or short story about Negroes to
be written from a non racial point of view.
Shortly after publishing his first novel, Baldwin would go on to receive a
Guggenheim fellowship. In 1956 he would publish his second novel Giovanni s
Room. Giovanni s Room fired up a lot of controversy because of the explicit
amount of homoerotic content. It also was controversial because he explored
interracial relationships, a very touchy topic at the time. The plot of the novel itself
stems from Baldwin s analysis of the nature and character of homosexuality. Also,
Baldwin was able to connect with a wider audience because too much of the public
s surprise Giovanni s Room was primarily about white people, not African
Americans. He was also making references to himself in this novel because the main
character was living in Paris. Baldwin s next two novels, Another Country and Tell

Conjuring Spells
Conjuration Noun: 1.A magic incantation or spell. 2. The performance of something
supernatural by the means of a magic incantation or spell. Origin: Latin conjurare,
or conjuratio. For example the preposterous claim that he could raise the spirits of
the dead with a mystical conjuration. There are two main types of conjuring spells.
Those which conjure objects and those which conjure spirits. Spells which conjure
objects are relatively simple to cast and rarely have negative consequences to
casting. Those spells which conjure spirits are some of the most powerful spells in
existence. When these spells are cast incorrectly the caster is usually haunted for the
rest of their lives by the tormented soul they tried to conjure. I personally don t
American Conspiracy Theory
The Effects Conspiracy Theories Have On American Culture Conspiracy Theories
are defined as a belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for
a circumstance or event. An uprising problem in American culture is the spread of
the perpetuation of misinformation through many online sources and social media
platforms. A part of this issue is the publishing of fake news and conspiracy theories,
mainly by authors and editors who are seeking compensation for their information .
Crazy storylines are created or more is added to a previous story and are shared with
the internet to get the attention of the population. The publishers are aware that they
are spreading false information, but are doing for their own advantage.... Show more

The author from The Atlantic discusses the effect that the publisher of these
conspiracy theories has on the American citizens. It is harmful as these theories
have become normalized through politics, a great portion of many lives and has
led them to have their free mind almost being altered. The spread of fake news is
becoming a prevalent issue currently to owners of any media platform across the
web as stated through Gale Databases. As it has spread to websites and social
media it has become hard to distinguish the real from the fake if you are constantly
being surrounded by the fake. The question of why so many people believe in
conspiracy theories can be embarked upon in many different aspects as seen by
Time. Through studies, we see that one s income, education, or political beliefs can
alter their mind. But also a mentality implemented through politics and the tension
around that can be harming people. In which every way it is absurd that people are
still being fooled by this false information and that it is allowed to still continue on.
All three sources can come together to agree that the perpetuation of misinformation
is a very real, toxic product that is affecting the way in which our society views
events or stories. It can be taken on through politics and rumors present there,

income, insurance coverage, mental or medical history, and main reason for seeking
service. The process also includes an overview of different areas of need such as

What is the framework for each stage?
The first stage is being patient; take the time to listen to the client to build rapport and
trust. From listening to the client you can understand what the issues are and how
much insight and maturity they have, their support system, and any other
information to develop a client/case manager relationship. In the second stage we
assist the client in identifying their goals and develop hope that their problems can
be solved. The third stage is when the case manager discusses with the client what
they are willing to do to meet their goals and help them choose strategies to meet
them.
5. How do you calmly and effectively deal with a high stress situation?
When I feel stressed I do not let the client see it. I hold my composure and out of
the clients presence I relax my mind by walking or listening to calm music. Usually
after I remove myself from the stressful atmosphere I am able to think better and
come up with ideas to help me with the stressor.
Fostering client participation and empowerment
6. How do you motivate non compliant clients?
I motivate non compliant clients by allowing them to have choices and let them lead
the way the conversation goes. Fostering collaboration and developing creative
solutions in providing consequences for them being non compliant is a good strategy.
Empathize with the client and the reasons for the non compliance. I also have

Recycling And Recycling Essay
Have you seen how great the sky looks lately? Individually as humans we have
been doing a great job in maintaining our environment. Just look at how many more
landfills we have compared to recycling plants, It s truly an amazing sight to
behold. It is nice to know that all of the materials that could have been reused are
going back in the ground where they came from. We are often bombarded with
news articles, tv commercials, and social media about how the destruction of the
Earth is approaching at a pace faster than before. These are alternative facts. Trees
are everywhere. They d rule the world if it weren t for us. It is difficult to travel for
more than ten minutes without seeing a tree. However, self proclaimed
environmentalists get aggravated if you try to cut so much as a single tree without
pledging to plant one hundred more! It is a common belief that we are not doing
enough for the Earth, but what more could we do? We use the resources we need,
and then we put them right back where they came from. Clearly recyclingplants and
recycling receptacles are being rendered obsolete by the infamous trash bin/landfill
combo. They are a huge waste of space. Assuming that we just threw everything
away, it would create a considerable amount of space for more practical buildings
such as oil refinery s, plastic manufacturing plants, the list goes on to give better
alternatives for taxpayer dollars. Many people do not even recycle, because they
know that trash or recycle it
Peter Singer s How To Find Fulfilling Career
Everyone would like to have a meaningful work. In the past, people did not attach
great importance to find a fulfilling career, because they were busy earning money to
support their families. In their mind, they worked only because they had to. People
did not pay much attention to the meaning of their careers. In chapter 2 A Short
History of CareerConfusion is from How to Find Fulfilling Work by Roman Krznaric,
the author argues that finding the meaningful career is challenging because people
have too much choice now. Some people are stuck in jobs that they do not like.
Others spend a long time finding their favorite work through experiences. Here are
four strategies that can help you find fulfilling career. Although some people think that

Nowadays, some people do not like their work even complain bitterly, who find
their work for earning money. They feel frustrated that they spend lots of time
dealing with dull emails or marketing products they do not really like. In
Rethinking Work , author Barry Schwartz writes, Today, in factories, offices and
other workplaces, the details may be different but the overall situation is the same:
Work is structured on the assumption that we do it only because we have to (1).
Some people make a difference. In How To Find Fulfilling Work, the moral
philosopher Peter Singer writes, He argues that our greatest hope for personal
fulfillment is dedicating our lives and if possible our working lives...especially an
ethical one such as animal rights, poverty alleviation or environmental justice (67).
Make a difference is a good way to find a fulfilling career. Not only do people make a
positive contribution to people and society, but people also reflect their values.
They can gradually sense day to day the influence of their work upon an audience
from their heart. For example, my dad is a bank teller. Not only is he interested in
finance, but he also likes to help others in need. That motivates him to work well
every day. Some people think that this job is repetitive and boring. However, my dad
enjoys it. He told me a meaningful experience. One day, an old man told my dad that
he lost his pass book. He felt so worried and had no idea what to do next. He almost
cried and told my dad that the pass book saved all money. Then my dad calmed down
him and helped him find his pass book. He tried his best to apply for a simple and
quick way to solve the problem. Finally, and old man felt grateful for my dad s
help. Making a difference is necessary for us to reflect our values and help others in
need. It enriches our life experience. In addition, it enables us to make a difference
to other people. We can make a

The Goddess Of The Earth Essay
The darkness fills a land where evil runs unopposed, illuminated by the five
gushing rivers that characterize the land, each unique to their region of hell. At the
center, the infamous river of Styx flows from Oceanus, creating a boundary
between the land of the living and the land of the dead. The Kokytos river branches
southward off of Styx feeding into the marsh. On the other side of the marsh, the
Acheron river ebbs and flows southeast. Northwest of Styx, towards the Gates of
Ivory lays the waters of Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. Circling the Northern
region of Tartarus flows Phlegethon, winding like a python ready to choke the life
out of its prey. Close to Phelegethon, east of Tartus, is the plain of Judgments where

deposed demon dissipated before her. Proserpina grinned at her blade, as she bent to
pick it up and place it back in its sheath. If only she could do that to her husband, she

When the spirit rematerialized, Proserpina acceded and followed the spirit through

regally on his dais and leered down at her as she approaches the steps the way he did
every time he summoned her. Breathing deeply through her nose, she performed the

Essay A Comparison of Capitalism and Marxism
A Comparison of Capitalism and Marxism
This essay will compare the economic principles of capitalism and communism by
giving brief historical background on both and describing the two. I will begin with
the father of economy, Adam Smith, and finish with the theories of Karl Marx.
Adam Smith believed that if everyone behaves selfishly we are doing what is best
for the economy of our society. This is what is known as enlightened selfishness.
Enlightened selfishness is one of the main elements of capitalism. Profit is the motive
for production of goods and greed is a virtue. You can own private property, but to
maintain that private property you need capital to invest. Investing in something is
always a risk. The larger the risk, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The workers were, in general, unskilled and often repeated the same series of
actions for 12 hours a day. The owners were the people profiting the most from this
system. Because the common worker was so easy to come by and easy to
underpay, the owners could have a higher profit. All of this and child labor too.
Children and women were under paid even more so than men. Urbanization forced
the creation of working class districts. These slums had no running water, diseases
such as small pox and typhus were commonplace, people were clustered around the
factories creating crowded flats and mortality rates were incredibly high. Marx and
others saw capitalism as going hand in hand with these horrors.
Communism is considered a reaction to the evils of capitalism. Another way of saying
communism is dialectical materialism. Karl Marx borrowed many ideas from the
ideas of Gregor Hagel. Karl Marx was a German professor and theoretician, he
published 2 famous works The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Das Kapital
(1866). Before he could finish Das Kapital he died, Friedrich Engels finished the
book. Frederik Angles was a collaborator of Marx s and co author of the book.
Marx saw the exploitation of the common worker and predicted a revolution that
would see the rise of the proletariat against the capitalistic suppressors. Proletariat is
a term used by Marx to describe the working class. He also
Symptoms And Symptoms Of Mcardle s Syndrome
McArdle s Syndrome is a muscle metabolism disorder that is caused by a deficiency
of the glycogen enzyme muscle phosphorylase (Quinlivan). Muscle phosphorylase is
the enzyme that breaks down glycogen during glycolysis. Without this enzyme, the
body has a difficult time going through anaerobic glycolysis and can cause an
individual to experience intense musclepains. It is estimated that 1 in every 100,000
people will get McArdle s Syndrome (Haller). McArdle s Syndrome is a genetic
disorder, so there is no preventing it. Even the unaffected child of an affected person
will have a 50% chance of being a carrier, which means they could pass it on to their
own children (MartГn). Other common names for McArdle s Syndrome are Glycogen
Storage disease type V (GSDV) and McArdle disease (MartГn, Quinlivan).
The symptoms of McArdle s Syndrome were recognized about 65 years ago by
Brian McArdle. In 1959, it was found that all these symptoms were due to a
glycogen phosphorylase deficiency in the muscles (Haller). Some of these symptoms
include rapid fatigue, myalgia, and muscle cramps in exercising muscles. These
symptoms usually occur during the first 10 minutes of exercise. Muscle cramps are
one of the major signs of McArdle s Syndrome. To prevent these muscle cramps, one
should avoid high intensity and maximal aerobic exercise. Muscle weakness occurs in
25% of people diagnosed with McArdle s Syndrome and is more likely to involve
proximal muscles and people over the age of 40.

content that is similar to those in the real world. One of the ideas is that there will
always be stereotypes in our world like this book. Also, how many people will try to
stay gold but are failing to do so. Lastly, in our world today it shows how bad some
people our living and what they have to do to make enough money to put foodon the

book. All over the world there is still stereotypes today just like in the book The
Outsiders. In The Outsiders there are two main groups the Socs and the greasers. The
Water Vapour Is The Fuel For Hurricanes
A hurricane is a tropical storm with winds that spiral inward.
A hurricane rotates in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction due to a
phenomenon that is known as the Coriolis effect. This video can tell you how it
affects the spin of a hurricane. It s wind speeds that go over 64 knots or 118km/h. A
hurricane can be 900km long and can last a week. This phenomenon is known as a
cyclone in the Indian Ocean, but they are also named hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean
and typhoons in the Far East.
How Hurricanes formed
Water vapour is the fuel for hurricanes because when it condenses to form clouds and
rain it warms the surrounding air. The heat builds up causing low pressure to form.
The low pressure causes the wind to spiral towards the centre

Kindred by Octavia Butler
Fictional writers often write about the human condition as a way to connect with
readers who contain narrow knowledge. In fictional books, characters are given
emotion and senses like any other actual person, which can make the reader relate
quicker in detail unlike factual novels. In other words, readers gain a new
perspective on a period of time by examining a fictionnovel. Ironically, some argue
fiction can educate us about part of our life by enabling us to relate and empathize. I
am certain that many people can learn factual items in fictional stories. In Kindred,
by Octavia Butler, the near death experiences of Rufus Weylin transported an African
American woman named Dana from 1976, to the antebellum south to gain an
unbelievable experience of what it is like to have been a slave. Through her daily life
on the Weylin plantation, the reader begins to understand just how complicated
slaveryis and how it affects both the slaves and the plantation owners. This novel
gave a new definition of reality and a new meaning of the 19th century exploitation
practice. Butler first describes the scenery of where she is living by stating she
lived in Southern California. She then states that Dana is transported to Maryland
in 1815. I was in a green pace. I was at the edge of woods. Before me was a wide
tranquil river... [13] From this acute description, the reader can imagine that Dana is
at a place that is not urban like Southern California in 1976. As the story progresses,

Agree or Disagree?
Abstract
Son of Sam Law Should convicted criminals be able to profit from their crime? If a
person is convicted of murdering an individual and writes a book to tell their story,
they should not be able to earn money from the profit of their book. Some people
believe that it can be a good way to earn money for the criminal s defense, while
othersmaintain that any money earned should be given to the victim s family or even
create some type of trust account for future victims or programs to help others.
Son of Sam Law While watching the news the other day, I caught a story about a
criminal who wanted to make a movie about his crime. My first thought was, No
way! . That is horrible for someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many believe that the Son of Sam Law goes against the fundamentals of the First
Amendment of the US Constitution. Another opposing belief is that if a person is
convicted of a crime can be compensated for telling their story they will be able
financially to take care of their family members. If anyone is to profit from a crime
it should be the victim or their loved ones. Some victims may need financial help
paying for medical expenses or even day to day living expenses depending on the
level of injury they have. Another solution could be that all proceeds from a book
or movie, etc. could be placed in a victim s assistance account to help all victims and
their families.I will not buy anything that has been written by a convicted criminal if
the criminal is the person to receive the profits. There have been stories that have
been told in the past that I refuse to pay for.
Currently there is a case in the California Supreme Court Frank Sinatra, Jr. v Barry
Keenen over the kidnapping of Sinatra, Jr. that happened over forty years. Keenen
served his time for kidnapping Sinatra, Jr. and receiving $240,000.00 from Frank
Sinatra, Sr. in 1963. (Sealey, 2012). The California Supreme Court is deciding
whether Keenen or Sinatra, Jr. can receive any money for telling the story of
kidnapping Frank Sinatra, Jr. Keenen believes that it is his story to tell and Sinatra,
Jr. feels that as the victim he should be compensated.

The Positive Influence Of Social Media
Social media has become a significant aspect and influence in today s society.
Whether it s connecting with family and friends, increase in productivity, building
one s self esteem or its influence in pop culture. On the other hand, the price to pay
for social media is its expectations, in particular, the ones it sets for relationships in
the digital world. Social media is responsible for creating unrealistic and
unattainable expectations which results in making people believe in the false
illusions of the perfect couple or hashtag boyfriend girlfriend goals as projected on
platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Such false expectations and impractical
norms leads to constantly comparing one s relationship with others, false ideas of a
healthy relationship and could result in jeopardizes one s own relationship with
their current or future partner. In today s culture, social media stars have a more
significant influence on the general public than celebrities themselves. Many of
which are in well known and public relationships with other social media stars. For
instances, Liza Koshy and David Dobrik, Pewdiepie and his famous beauty guru
girlfriend Marzia are just some examples. The latter s relationship has led them to
land several ad campaigns and projects (Shields). One thing social media stars share
in common whether they are on YouTube, Instagram or Facebook is to declare their
affections, share details of their relationships on such platforms with their fans, who

My Solitary Purpose Of Applying For Graduate Program
Statement of Purpose
My solitary purpose of applying for graduate program at your university is to pursue
a carrier of professional researcher and educationalist in the field of Chemical and
Biomolecular Engineering. After completing my PhD and post doctorate programs, I
want to see myself as a fully matured professional researcher in an organization, or a
faculty member in a renowned university. And graduate program is the first step in
attaining of my long cherished dream. In addition to that, my undergraduate study at
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), in the department of
Chemical Engineering has exposed me to the real nature of chemical and biochemical
engineering. Environment of my undergraduate university is very strong and here
the research and theoretical knowledge go forward parallel. As a result, I have
discovered that I have a strong interest in research work and a very good aptitude for
problem solving and problem detecting. In sum, because of these reasons I have
decided to pursue my higher studies in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
There always will be a winning side and a losing side, despite that we have to move
forward to see the future; No one has been successful without overcoming hindrance
on the pathway of triumph. The above philosophy has played a significant role in
shaping of my objectives and framing of my future plans. My childhood was
completely different compared to the other kids. My father used to stay away
Why Was The Scottsboro Boys Trial Unfair
The Scottsboro boys trial took place in March of 1931, a trial that was dictated by
race and not by actions. The accusations were faulty, as was the evidence. Yet the
boys were all sentenced for death or life imprisonment. The trial was unfair at least,
the nine black boys were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The boys were riding a train to find work and instead got into a fight with some of
the white men on the train. The police were called and they came. Two women
were also in the train car and out of fear they reported they had been raped by the
black men. The black men were then arrested and taken out at gunpoint. They were
put on trial a few days later.
The trial began in 1933, and it was ruled by race only. The first trail every
The Effect Of Temperature Increases Due On
Anthropogenic...
Abstract The purpose of this article by Diffenbaugh et.al. is to determine how
temperature increases due to anthropogenic warming change the probability of
precipitation deficits that cause severe drought conditions, and determine what the
conditions will look like in the future. They used historical precipitationand
temperature data with Palmer Drought Metrics and global climatemodels to attempt
to answer this question. It was found that in the past twenty years, the frequency of
drought years has doubled, without any significant change in the trends of
precipitation variability. This was attributed to significant increases in positive
temperature anomalies causing an increased frequency of precipitation deficits
leading to more occurrences of drought years. Global climate modeling suggested
that by 2030, the region will transition to a regime where there is a 100% risk that
all future dry years will coincide with warmer conditions, increasing the risk of
extended drought conditions. This is not the first time this region has experienced
prolonged drought conditions. However, it is the first time the drought has been this
severe. Since 1977, the per capita water usage has decreased such that in 2013 the
water demand is similar to that of 1977, meaning that it will be very difficult to come
up with new short term water conservation ideas.

The Road Not Taken, Shawshank Redemption, Slumdog...
My connections look at how certain choices can affect your life forever. The texts
that I used to convey this link were The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Slumdog
Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle, The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank
Darabont and a poem by Robert Frost called The Road Not Taken. Throughout the
texts used we learn that you cannot always see the outcome of a particular choice
unless you choose to go down that path. An important decision is made by the main
character(s) in each text and they suggest that not all choices are easy to make and
can have positive and negative consequences.
Life choices can have various influences affecting them
Within each text a significant decision is made where a strong influence has ... Show

I took the one less travelled by tells us that he did turn away from the crowd s
preferred choice. He took the one that was less preferred as he says, In leaves no
step had trodden black, which makes the reader think that no one had set foot down
this road and that this choice is occasionally chosen by others so, Frost is indeed
challenging the norm . He develops the idea of wanting to be different by preceding
normality which is influenced by the want for independence. Throughout the stated
texts we are shown that certain choices can be influenced by things like your own
values, our surroundings and emotions. We learn that some influences can be strong
enough to create conflict between family members when a particular choice is made.
We also learn that people can make regrettable decisions due to their own, sometimes
personal, desires.
Poor life choices can have long term negative or positive consequences
With any kind of decision or choice an outcome is definite, whether it be a positive
or negative one it cannot be foreseen. Throughout the texts I studied, negative
consequences resulted from poor life choices in some texts. The character Amir, of
The Kite Runner, makes the awful decision to do nothing while his childhood
friend, also his brother, is raped in front of him. I could step into that alley, stand up

Personal Relationships In The Disappearing Girl
Addiction develops as an emotional crutch, impacting character development. This
addiction could potentially be a result of three main factors: setting and age, key
personal relationships and key tragic events. Each of these elements have a level of
responsibility in the development and overcoming of the addictionfor Kayla in The
disappearing Girl and Rachel in The Girl on the Train. However some of the
elements have more of a responsibility than the others.
Kayla in The Disappearing Girl is a female adolescent living in the United States of
America in the twenty first century. Much like The Disappearing girl, The Girl on
the Train is also set in the twenty first century. However it is set in London and the
main character, Rachel, is in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2015. p8). Subsequently Rachel uses alcohol to feel in control. She is unemployed
and was left by her husband, Tom. She does not feel in control of her employment or
relationships but feels that she can control how much she alcohol she consumes.
Substance abuse is also used as an emotional crutch. In The Disappearing Girl,
bulimia nervosa is used to relieve her of the emotions of mourning the death of her
father and to comfort her from the constant criticisms of her mother, the emotional
release I felt brought an overpowering sense of relief (Wood. 2015. p8). Much like
Kayla, Rachel uses alcohol to help feel better about herself and to help her forget her
pain, Some days I feel so bad that I have to drink; some days I feel so bad I can t.
(Hawkins. 2015. P31).
Addictions develop as an emotional crutch often after one experiences a traumatic
or tragic event. this seems to be the case when looking at both novels. In The
Disappearing Girl, Kayla suffers the death of her father. The two had a very close
bond therefore this tragedy took a deep emotional toll on Kayla. The death of her
father left her at the mercy of her cruel mother and her own self hatred I never
realised how much of a buffer he was until he was gone (Wood. 2015. P6). After his
death she became more weight conscious and her self esteem worsened. Due to this
she developed anorexia nervosa and then bulimia nervosa to cope with the loss of her
father.
Similarly to Kayla, Rachel also suffers the death
Importance Of Software Engineering Process For
Reducing...
1.Risk reduction is the process for reducing the effects caused on the product or the
system. The main purpose of risk reduction is to maintain the functionality of the
product, to take care that there is no loss of information, so that the continuity of the
project is not lost, prevent from vulnerabilities.
Example: A risk that be faced by our website in the project is, server would be
down for any maintenance purpose or any other reason which might cause our
website to be down resulting in loss of users. For this we can implement a risk
reduction activity of using email alerts when the system is down so that we can

Waterfall model is a software engineering process that has sequence of steps which
are required for a product to be built or for the completion of a project successfully.
This model starts with the requirements analysis phase and end with maintenance
having several stages like design, implementation and verification. This model gives
us a planned model for developing a product and deploying it in the market. This is
also known as a sequential model.
Some of the shortcomings of waterfall model are
i.It cannot be used for developing large size products ii. Once there is any issued
that has raised during the process, the complete process may get complex iii. No
changes can be made in between the process. For example if any requirement is
missed and due to this if the testing of the product fails then the complete process has
to be repeated which is very complicated and time consuming iv. All the requirements
have to be known in prior before designing a system and implementing it
v.One should have complete knowledge about the product being developed as it is
not possible to make changes in between the process. vi. This model can be used in
case of small projects so that the scope and timeline is not missed.

The Horrible And Gruesome Events Of The Holocaust
The author of Night, a novel documenting the horrible and gruesome events of the
holocaust, Elie Wiesel expresses his experiences and observations in which he and
his fellow Jews were dehumanized while living in concentration camps (a hell on
earth). All Jews, as a race were brutalized by the Nazis during this time; reducing them
to no less than objects, positions which meant nothing to them, belongings that were a
nuisance. Nazis would gather every Jew that they could find and bring them to these
infernos, separating the men and women. Families, not knowing it would never see
each other again. Individuals within the categories were divided even more, based on
their health, strength, and age. They would be judged by a Nazi officer, which would
then decide their fate, if they would have the opportunity to live or if they would be
sentenced strait to execution. In these camps, babies became target practice, being
tossed in the air like an object with no significant value and shot at with no remorse.
The more mature could be sentenced to execution, tossed into pits of fire while fully
conscious burning them alive. In addition, the ones who passed inspection received
treatment as if they were slaves and dogs, making them follow any command, any
disobeying of these demands would consequence them to be shot without hesitation.
These dehumanizing crimes were the punishments forced on the Jewish race by the
Nazi influence, turning Jewish nationality into a nuisance against what they
Dependable Tray Truck Research Paper
Growing up in a family that runs a construction supplies store, I completely
understand how important it is to invest in a dependable tray truck. Essentially,
having the right rig in your business will make it easier for you to ship your
building materials, such as cement, sand, glass fibers, and wood, to your customers
location safely and on time. Now, if you re currently in the hunt for a tray truck to
add to your operations, I know a couple of models that you can look into. I will
share them all with you, starting with my most favored: the Hino Dutro 616.
Impressively, this Hino working dog is one of the trucks that has received several
good feedback from operators. Let s figure out why by getting into its features and
capabilities below. Hino Dutro 616 Tray Truck: Key Features Reliable My family
actually had the chance to work with the Hino Dutro 616 before, and all I can say
is that it is truly a reliable tray truck. What powers it is a 4.0 litre intercooled turbo
diesel engine that can produce up to 150 horsepower. It also integrates a 5 speed
manual transmission that makes the rig easy to maneuver and drive around town.
Robust body Apart from the excellent power, the Dutro 616 boasts its robust body
as well. Measuring 4,530 mm long and 2,300 mm wide, its steel tray body is ROPS

If you will ask me, what I like about it is its dependability. For such a light duty tray
truck, it still has the strength to carry your building materials and deliver them to
your customers locations safely and on time. Another thing that I like about it is the
fact that it is budget friendly. Imagine, for only around $26,355 AUD, you can
already have a ergonomically designed rig that can serve as your partner on the
highway. Summing up, this Dutro 616 is a smart pick and a vehicle that is worthy of

Media Plan For Izze Sparkling Soda
Instructor assignment #4: Media Plan for IZZE Sparkling Soda
The media we chose to put an emphasis on is radio, Internet and cable television.
The percentages for each are radio 40%, Internet 30% and cable television 30%. For
radio we have strategically chosen to place our advertisements on the weekday
morning drive time from 6am to 10am and on weekends from 7pm to midnight. The
vehicles chosen for Internet are the websites iTunes, ESPN and iHeart Radio. For
Cable Television services we have chosen the vehicles Spike TV, Food Network and
ION.
There are numerous reasons why we decided to put the largest emphasis on radio.
For one, our demographic is males 18 34 and according to the PowerPoint, we
learned that males at that age are a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the United Nations Report, 1.5 billion Internet users are male, while
1.3 billion are female. This statistic supports our decision for choosing this specific
medium. In Media Mark, we searched both Other Regular Soft Drinks and
Sparkling Water. We compared the two reports and selected the highest reach
/index numbers. The vehicles we found specific to our target audience are iTunes,
which has a reach of 35,600,000 and an index number of 135, ESPN with a reach
of 36,455,000 and an index number of 111 and iHeart Radio, which had a reach of
12,771,000 and an index number of 117. Other websites that we considered but did
not choose were Pandora (46,726,000/109) and NFL (17,898,000/110). From this
research we were able to determine that our target had an interest in music and sports.
This further supports our decision to place a larger emphasis on radio.
From the PowerPoint, we learned that Cable Television is a highly persuasive
medium because it offers sight, sound and motion. It also reaches a large audience
and specifically captures the attention of our hard to reach target (males 18 34). We
chose Cable Television over other mediums because it provides narrowcasting
opportunities to focus in on specific targets. The vehicles that we chose within this
medium are Spike TV with a reach of 35,794,000 and an index number of 120, Food
Network with a reach of 56,594,000 and an
Steroid Hormone Lab Report
Specific Aim The female gonadal steroid estrogen has been shown to suppress
homeostatic feeding and body weight by its action in the arcuate nucleus,
ventromedial hypothalamus, paraventricular nucleus, nucleus of the solitary tract,
and dorsal raphe. There is also evidence that in female rodents, estrogen can influence
behaviors associated with food reward which are known to be regulated by the
mesolimbic dopamine system. However, the precise locations or mechanisms of
action within the mesolimbic system through which estrogen influences food reward
are not known. I hypothesize that in female rats, estrogen signaling through ERОІ in
the VTA and/or NAc suppresses palatable food reward. Background In female rats,

This system consists of dopamine (DA) neurons in the ventral tegmental area
(VTA) and their efferent projections to areas such as the nucleus accumbens (NAc)
and prefrontal cortex (PFC). It has been shown that the presentation of food, or
food associated cues, stimulates DA release in NAc[14,15], and this DA is
necessary to facilitate motivated behavior[16]. Both the VTA and NAc express
estrogen receptors (ER) [17], and both regions respond to ovarian cyclicity such
that the activity of VTA DA neurons [18] and NAc DA content [2] are depressed
during proestrus. Furthermore, peripheral estrogen treatment has been shown to
increase VTA D3R mRNA levels [19], decreases VTA TH
immunoflourescence[20], decrease stimulated DA release in NAc [21], and to
prevent OVX induced decrease in NAc D2R[22]. From this, it appears that estrogen
has the capacity to depress mesolimbic DA signaling and therefore it is possible that
estrogen can decrease the rewarding properties of palatable food, decrease the
motivation to acquire food, and subsequent
Different Types of Protocols Police Officers Must Consider
There are different types of protocols police officers must consider and exhibit when
communicating with others in a variety of situations. For typical police situations,
officers must consider whether they are emergency or non emergency situations.
Other common places in which officers are required to exhibit different forms of
protocol for communication include in correctional facilities and in courtroom
settings. In all of the situations, officers must be aware of both their verbal and non
verbal forms of communication, the latter of which is just as valuable as the former
in conveying messages to others (Server, no date).
In non emergency conventional police situations, it is extremely advisable for
officers to convey a sense of relaxation and amicable helpfulness in both their
demeanors as well as in their voices. One s posture in these situations should be
comfortable, and change positions at discreet intervals to demonstrate a sense of
relaxation. Similarly, the officer s voice should offer some degree of fluctuation,
and not come across to loud or commanding. For instance, it would be acceptable for
an officer to wave to whomever he is communicating with when first getting that
person s attention, and to speak in easy, reserved tones without raising his voice too
loudly. Failure to follow this protocol could result in undesirable consequences, the
most likely of which could be a lack of cooperation on the part of whomever the
officer is communicating with. If
Stray Animals Spayed Or Neutered
There is a large population of dogs and cats that have not been spayed or neutered
that reproduce and make the population of the stray dogs and cats in a community
grow, which can eventually lead to an excess of stray pets that is a problem that is
much more difficult to tame. To add on, When an animal is spayed or neutered this
means that the animal has had any reproductive organs removed that disables them
from being able to have offspring, spayed being the terminology that is used for a
female dogor catand neutered being the term used for males. It is no question as to
why a grand majority of stray pets have not been spayed or neutered, for the price to
have their reproductive organs removed is rather expensive and not ideally
affordable for a vast majority of petowners in El Paso.... Show more content on

Change in Roman Fever by Edith Wharton Essay
Change in Roman Fever by Edith Wharton
Chance (or coincidence) has an ambiguous role in the outcome of different situations;
it can work in or against one s favour. As in real life, chance in literature has
considerable influence on the circumstances of the characters and where those
circumstances lead.
In two particular literary works, Roman Fever and A Small, Good Thing, chance
happenings have grave results on the lives of the characters concerned. In Roman
Fever, old friends meet by chance and reveal disturbing secrets about the past; while
in A Small, Good Thing a boy is injured on his birthday placing his parents in a

The two old friends had not seen each other in years, but met again in a hotel in Rome
where they were both vacationing with their respective daughters. Naturally, it seems,
the two daughters develop a friendship. Such occurrences would otherwise be
unfathomable if it was not for the precise meaning of chance; the unpredictable
element in happenings that cannot be assigned a cause
(Hougton Mifflin, 2000). Chance provides an understanding, not an explanation, and,
hence, an acceptance of such occurrences. The chance meeting of these two old
friends sets the stage for the revelation of secrets that were also influenced by the
unexpected.

Master Harold and the Boys by Athol Fugard
In a play, rituals are a series of actions performed by people in a normal situation;
thus, the performers undergo a change from ordinary performers into a community of
participants. To ensure that the drama reflects a real ritual, characters must abandon
their normalcies and assume different roles. In Master Harold ... and the boys and
Endgameby Athol Fugard and Samuel Beckett, respectively, relationships are
developed for mutual gain; they promote personal welfare, satisfaction, and gain. The
ritualistic method by which the characters converse reveals the absurdity and
necessity of relationships.
In Master Harold ... and the boys, Sam and Willie, two black waiters who work for

Charles Mingus Essay

Jazz 219
Charles Mingus Charles Mingus is a very important and influential name in jazz;
however he is left out by many historians when talking about the history of jazz.
The main reason he is left out by so many historians, Mark Gridley in particular, is
because of his attitude and ego. He is clearly not the most pleasant person, and he
surely does not display how a real jazz musician should act, at least according to
most historians. The way he acts during performances can be quite startling at first,
if you are not familiar with his ways and methods of playing. For example, he was
known for using profanity during performances, either geared at the audience if they

Another chapter I would also include him in would be Chapter 5, How Swing
Differs from Early Jazz . I would include Mingus in this chapter as well because it
talks so much of his most influential Jazz artist, and at one point fellow band mate,
Duke Ellington. I feel like Mingus truly does have enough variance in his music to
help point out and draw the fine line between early jazz and the newer swing jazz.
The main differences between these two categories of jazz are that in early jazz,
you were a lot less likely to have the big band feel to the music, and soloist played a
more important role in early jazz, whereas in the swing era, you were introduced to
more of a variety of instruments as well as new techniques on how to play them.
Mingus puts out good examples and songs/performances that clearly display how
things transitioned from early Jazz to swing, and then onto other evolutions of jazz as
well. After learning and hearing many of Charles Mingus s music, I definitely feel it
is unfair for any historian to leave him out of an in depth jazz history book. I hope
jazz book writers to come take note of Mingus s accomplishments, and start to include
him in the history books right up there with Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Louis
Armstrong. It is only fair to him and his fellow band mates, however, only time will

The Importance Of Meaningful Life
A meaningful life means find happiness in everything you do, it means enjoy and
share time with your loved ones, and have a purpose in life. To find happiness, we
must go through different tribulations and situations where life doesn t seem to be
so easy. Happiness is an art that can be learned, it describes a deep sense of inner
well being, peace and vitality. You must know that even from your worst moments
in life there is something good to take out of it. If we really want to be happy we
must be grateful for what we have, we must enjoy everything that has been given
to us. We must remember that out there, there is people wishing or working hard
for what we already have. As we read In Search of April Raintree we can find
different situations during April s childhood where she finds happiness in simple
things. One December, we all went downtown to watch the Santa Claus parade.
That was such a thrilling, magical day for me. After that, we went to visit an aunt
and uncle where Cheryl and I had a glorious old time feasting on cake, fruit, and
hot chocolate. Then we walked home. Dad threw snowballs at Mom for a bit
before he carried sleepy eyed Cheryl in his arms. I was enchanted by all the
coloured Christmas lights and the decorations in the store windows. I think that was
the best day ever, because Mom and Dad laughed for real (P.13) this passage shows
us how our childhood memories can stick with us forever, they revive the happiness
we felt that moment. Next important

Washington presented once more Manhattan as a living body, and his
interpretation of Excavations at night as an autopsy of the city conveys a powerful
image of the city being exposed and vulnerable like Miss Bentham. Mr Greenhalgh
confessed that he tends to see the grim side of Bellows, therefore his interpretation
of his paintings does have a darker interpretation as he desires to seek for a deeper
and darker meaning than just the simple representation of a reality. His analysis of

Arguably Marin suffers the influences of the European futurists who are just
emerging in Europe during this period, which can imply that Bellows, like other
Ashcanners and the French Impressionists, did involuntarily start the concept of
dynamism and its application in their paintings. From the macabre description of
New York and some of his inhabitants and the thermodynamic of some of Bellows
paintings, the symposium proceeded under a different note that still analysed the
body in relation to movement, in particular the female body in commercial art.
Professor Jennifer Greenhill presented her paper Commercial Illustration s
Immaterial Bodies which focused on the commercial artist Coles Phillips and this
imagery for the mass press where design is vital to attract any potential buyers. It
was illuminating to discover this artist and some of his most characteristic works
created with a fade away technique where the body of women disappears in the
background so dematerialising their bodies. Prof Greenhill provided an excellent
overview of the artist as well as his technique and showed many eye catching images
that are still incredibly powerful in terms of graphic and design. Coles Phillips was a
lawyer, a painter, but most importantly a graphic designer and his preferred technique
was the watercolour; his pictorial technique consists in
Father and Son Relationship in Elie WieselВґs Night
The Holocaust will forever be known as one of the largest genocides ever recorded
in history. 11 million perished, and 6 million of the departed were Jewish. The
concentration camps where the prisoners were held were considered to be the
closest one could get to a living hell. There is no surprise that the men, women, and
children there were afraid. One was considered blessed to have a family member
alongside oneself. Elie Wieselwas considered to be one of those men, for he had his
father working side by side with him. In the memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel, a young
boy and his father were condemned to a concentration camp located in Poland. In the
concentration camps, having family members along can be a great blessing, but also
a burden.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They do not display great signs of public affection towards each other; rather they
aid each other in order to survive. An exceptional example of this would be the time
Wiesel reveals, I decided to give my father lessons myself, to teach him to change
step, and to keep to the rhythm (Wiesel 53). He needed to assist his father with
marching because Wiesel could not handle watching his father get beaten again.
Wiesel tries doing everything he can to make sure his father is doing well. In some
instances, Wiesel would put his father before himself. When Wiesel is getting
whipped, he can only think of what his father has gone through. Wiesel admits, I
was thinking of my father. He must have suffered more than I did (Wiesel 56). This
experience makes Wiesel recognize that what he is going through is only physical,
and for a father to see his son getting whipped without being able to do anything can
really hurt.
His father is his only hope, and Wiesel was his father s. Wiesel truly want to be with
his father, for he explains, I ran outside to look for him (Wiesel 78). Wiesel proves
how much he loves and cares for his father when he risks re injury and re infection
of his foot just to see him. When his father finally passes away, Wiesel seems to be
broken. The man who kept him alive this whole time was finally gone. Wiesel
recalls, I did not weep, and it pained me that I could not weep. (Wiesel 106).
How Does Lime Connect Impact My Community
I have always been energized by the opportunity to make a positive and tangible
impact on my community. During my time at Georgetown, such excitement came
from involvement in multiple activities ranging from student government to
fellowships, and from on campus advocacy to community service. Since graduating
from Georgetown, I have continued my commitment to service through extensive
involvement as a SERVE Leader at Fannie Mae. Still, I miss the opportunity to
organize events and engage members of my community to the extent I did when I
was in school. What s more, I have found it difficult to continue involvement in the
disability space since graduation, as my current employer has limited avenues for
employees with disabilities to network.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am energized by lively discussion, value diversity of opinion, and am one who
will always work hard to ensure we accomplish our goal. I have had the opportunity
to serve as a board member for several organizations at Georgetown, have led
fundraising efforts that have totaled more than $150,000, have planned large scale
events and conferences for Oxfam America and Georgetown Residential Life, and
have overseen budgetary appropriations for several clubs as President of the
Georgetown University InterHall Council. During my two years as a Resident
Assistant, I prided myself on planning activities that appealed to residents from a
variety of backgrounds, and I worked tirelessly to build communities where
everyone felt included and supported. More recently, I became one of 40 SERVE
Leaders at Fannie Mae working together to plan and organize company wide
volunteer opportunities, brainstorm and direct fundraising for the Help the Homeless
campaign, and partner with local non profit organizations to create strong relations in
and with the communities we serve. I thrive in dynamic, consensus driven
environments that leverage my desire to solve problems and reshape perspectives,
and my passion is epitomized in empowering and working closely with others. I hope

Dave Egger s Shortcomings In Zeitoun
In his national bestselling novel Zeitoun, author Dave Eggers draws sympathy from
his audience by applying the three appeals during the documentation of a muslim
family s experience with racial prejudice in post 9/11 Katrina. Eggers purpose calls
upon painting a vivid picture of the discrimination towards the protagonist and his
family before and after Hurricane Katrina. His tone is often sentimental and builds
emotional appeal.
Throughout the novel, Zeitoun experiences a number of shortcomings due to his race.
Eggers often employs pathos during such moments and uses an objective tone to
indirectly voice his opinions to his readers. By utilizing this method, his prose is
subtly convincing in a way that allows readers to form their own similar ... Show

His work during Katrina involved compassionate actions and centralized the
rhetoricals of pathos. However, many of the actions went unrecognized or
completely ignored by the officials who were assisting him. One example would be
his persistent care in feeding the neighborhood dogs that were stranded and
uncared for in deserted houses. Zeitoun sympathy for the dogs allowed their
hunger to be dissolved. Zeitoun s effort towards the dogs immediately went to
waste after being arrested by the police. He pleads to the officials to take care of
them, but later finds them to be deceitful. The stench hit him immediately. He knew
the dogs were dead before he saw them (Pg. 280) Eggers urges his readers visualize
the distrust that the soldiers had toward Zeitoun. Despite his attempts to care for the
dogs at the expense of his time and personal resources, his pleas to save the innocent
dogs are scornfully disregarded due to the arrogance and skepticism of officials. Thus,
the dogs went uncared for and died. From his neighbors to the dogs, Zeitoun s
dedication of his trustworthiness and sympathetic heart exhibits a trustful attitude
towards his community that the government fails to
Elitism In The American Government
The political system in the United States of America is not comprised of a singular
ideology. The discussion stands that the American government hosts both pluralism
and elitism, but neither in full completion or dominance. The American government
is comprised neither fully of pluralism nor elitism, but rather plural elitism; an
intertwinement of the two. This essay will discuss pluralism, elitism, plural elitism,
and why American governmentis a mixture of these concepts. Pluralism is based on
the ideology that competition among interest groups produces compromise and
balance among competing policy preferences . (Paletz, Owen, and Cook) Politically,
pluralism the distribution of power throughout a government. A misconception is that

Plural elitism is the pluralistic relationship between multiple elitist groups in the
government. Although no group may have power over another, the groups
themselves are elitist which defies the pluralistic standpoint. In addition, the elitist
groups may not hold the interest of the public above all else. It is seen that the
American government is neither an elitist dictatorship, nor a system where power is
evenly distributed to the full extent among the people. An example of the plural
elitism relationship in the American government can be seen in the relationship
between all the states. Each state has a governing power in the capital which provides
order over the entirety of that state. State government is usually run by upper class
white people who do not always look to the peoples best interest. These state
governments exist in each state which creates a pluralistic sharing of power
throughout the United State. Individual state governments and their relationships to
one another across the United States exemplify a plural elitism standpoint. The
ideology of pluralism is based on creating balance by distributing power evenly
across culture and population. Political elitism is most often a small group of upper
class people who hold political positions solely with the intent to gain economic
wealth, even in opposition to the public s best interest. Plural elitism is a mix of the
two, where many elitist groups share a pluralistic relationship with each other. The
American government uses neither fully pluralistic, nor fully elitist views, but a mix
of the two resulting in a plural elitist
The Most Beautiful And Hitler Youth Quex
Youths are the leaders of tomorrow. This clichГ© statement is common to both film
in The Most Beautiful by Ichiban Utsukushiku and Hitler Youth Quex by Hans
Steinhoff, yet it holds water. Both the films common theme emphasized the youths of
a fascist regimes. Some of the themes were about being heroic as a youth, ideal goals
for youths, and vitality of the youth. Mosse once wrote both figuratively and literally
that Youths are the leaders, i.e. ones with a lot of influences:
The leaders, too, were young by the standards of that age Mussolini became prime
minister at thirty nine; Hitler attained the chancellorship at forty four. Youth
symbolized vigor and action; ideology was joined to fact... There must have been
many who, like Albert Speer s mother, voted for the Nazis because they were young
and clean cut. (Mosse 70)
Literally, many of the leaders were young, and figuratively many youths becomes
leader. However, these two film differ in message in its propaganda. Hitler Youth
Quex differ by devotion to a political party, meanwhile The Most Beautiful differ in
diligence and goals, i.e. war efforts. Even so, one would have to look critically at
the time period each of the film sets. Overall, comparing these two films will explore
how the elements of the youth oriented films can be an effective measure of
propaganda. In the exposition of the film, The Most Beautiful clearly expresses that it
is during wartime periods. This launches the reasoning behind the messages the film
Martian Chronicles Literary Analysis
Throughout Ray BradburyВґs Martian Chronicles, we get a taste of a utopian and
dystopian fiction. I believe Ray was trying to convey that rampant colonization
kills the society and environment of the victim. Through every story we can see
how bad Mars is turning out due to the ignorance and quickness of the colonizers.
There is speculation that Ray could be describing the future in a ВЁfictionalВЁ
way, in other words, he could be predicting the fate of the earth or America. I also
believe that after the four expeditions the settlers were still driven to colonize even
though the previous trips failed. I come to believe that Ray thinks all these dreams
and visions the martians have, is what will happen to us in America. It could all be

They come to Mars with intentions to peacefully settle and undermine part of the
society the Martians have built. Many Martians have hallucinations of this rocket and
its humans. On page 20, the Martian woman is distraught of this dream she keeps on
having and consults with Mr. Iii who is forced to put an end to this colonization. At
this point Ray explains how each Martian has a different view and hallucination of
the colonizers. Also, how the humans can communicate with the Martians by
telepathy. This is just another way Ray communicates his thoughts to us.
In the story ВЁUsher IIВЁ, we see a reference back to Edgar Allan PoeВґs ВЁFall of
the House of UsherВЁ. In this story William Stendahl remakes the house and creates
mechanical apes, bats, and vampires. During this episode and investigator from
Moral Climate condemns his house. Stendahl kills him and has no relevance to his
death from the state. I believe in this portion of the story Ray is focused on the
fictional part of things rather than the realistic non fictional possible things. I feel
that this drags the reader away from the futuristic side of the story to create a more

How Did The Russian Marxism Movement Evolve In The
Period
How did the Russian Marxism movement evolve in the period 1880 1905?
Alexandra Los
HIS2501Y
TA: Natalia Zajac
February 1, 2017
Marxism was a social movement that aimed to overcome all forms of domination and
exploitation. Roots of Marxism were drawn from the three main sources: German
idealist philosophy, British political economy, and French socialism. Adopting ideas
of German philosophers such as Kant and Hegel, Marx took a deeper look into the
nature of social reality. He researched how social interest, which was expressed in
mode of thinking and following actions, connected to real day to day life of people.
According to Marx, human history was defined by class struggle which was caused
by antagonism between the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the revolt was crashed by Nicholas I, and police control became even
tougher, spreading progressive ideas among educated intellectually advances people
of the time was the main consequence of Decembrist uprising. Post selfdom period
featured the emergence of critical minded and enlightened young intellectuals, and
who were willing to devote their lives to the transformation of the society. Learning
from Decembrists failure, they considered the necessity of cooperation with the
peasantry. However, the idea of creating the system of village communal land
ownership was meaningless for the peasants, who were still loyal to the Tsar and saw
him as father of people. The attempt to initiate a peasant self awakening by going to
people ended in bitter disappointment. Peasant conservatism and government
prosecution drove the Narodniki to underground activity. With industrial development
and emergence of urban proletariat in the 1880s, the populists attention shifted to
workers. Among those who supported a socialist propaganda was Georgi Plekhanov
who is considered a father of Russian Marxism.
The foundation of Group for the Liberty of Labour in Geneva (1883) manifested the
beginning of Russian Marxist movement. It was developing in the interaction with
socialist movements in other
Christian Luther s Freedom
In his writing The Freedom of a Christian, Martian Luther discusses a wide variety of
elements regarding the Christian faith walk. These topics include; The inner soul and
outer body, faith and works, those in power through the Catholic Church, the
common man, and finally humanity and God s role in the lives of His creation.
Luther approaches these topics with the strong bias of faith alone bringing salvation
and reconciliation with God. It can be seen that with these views Luther believes on
the other hand, that works are a product of faith, but have no direct connection to one
s righteousness or salvation. Throughout his writing Luther pulls from various
contexts, scriptures, and logic to effectively support his argument of faith alone and...

we descend beneath ourselves through love to serve our neighbor (88). In his book
The Freedom of a Christian, Luther provides the reader with informative, logical,

to salvation and not only by works. It can found throughout Luther s text that once
faith has been established it creates a foundation for works to be used as an outward
expression of said faith. It is not by hands alone that bring salvation, rather it is the
interworking of the soul, mind, and body that form a faith driven Christ

The Muscular Dystrophy Was First Discovered By
Guillaume...
Duchenne muscular dystrophy was first discovered by Guillaume Benjamin Amand
Duchenne in the 1860 s, but due to lack of medical knowledge little was known until
the 1980 s. It was in 1986 that researchers that were supported by the MDA, muscular
dystrophy association, identified the particular X chromosome that leads to DMD,
Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Dystrophin is the protein that is associated with the
gene and was named in 1987.The DMD gene is the second largest gene to date, and it
produces dystrophin.(Genome, 2013) Lack of the protein Dystrophin in the muscle
cells causes them to weaken and become fragile. (MDA, 2015). DMD is an
inherited disorder, but there are rare cases where it can spontaneously appear in a
child with no previous family history due to a random mutation in moms X
chromosome. DMD is a gender specific disease that only appears in males. Females
are carriers in their X Chromosome and they have the chance of passing the
disease on to their children, 50 50 to a girl and 50 50 to a boy. If the girl does receive
the gene she becomes a carrier. If the boy gets the gene then he has the disease.
Males do not pass on the gene to their children because they pass on the Y
chromosome and the disease is X specific. Some female carriers have indicators of
being a carrier by having symptoms of cardiomyopathy, shortness of breath during
exercise, and muscle weakness in the back, arms, and legs. There have been very rare
instances where a girl has not received a
Methods for Testing Water Quality
This report shows in details different methods that may be conducted in order to test
the quality of the water. First of all, the water quality is defined by its characteristics.
They may be biological, chemical, and physical. The water quality standards differ
due to several environmental impacts.
Physically, the first tested impact is temperature. It has a high influence on the
quality since it may cause different type of pollution and will also have a high
influence on biological activities. When the temperature of water will become very
far from its acceptable range, there will have a direct negative impact on species and
living organisms. The water temperature is inversely proportional to the dissolved
oxygen level. The second factor that affects the water quality is the potential of
hydrogen pH . Many organisms are affected by their medians pH. If the pH gets
outside of its acceptable range, plants and animals die. It is divided into three
categories: acidic ( 7), neutral (= 7), basic ( 7). When the median is acidic, it
causes corrosion for the pipes and aesthetic problems. When the median is
alkaline, the water will become bitter. Solids are divided into two categories:
suspended and dissolved. They are present in lakes and streams. Suspended solids
are particles that will be retained by filtering. It includes silts and sediments.
Aquatic life is negatively affected when the level of TDS is high. They are mostly
found in acidic rainfall like H+ and hard water like
The Importance Of Student Cognitive Development
As I consider my interpersonal, intrapersonal, and cognitive development, I find that
my collegiate career reflects the themes emphasized in Student Connectedness
Theory. According to the interpersonal component of this theory, students rely on
various sources of people before making decisions, such as their parents, family
relatives, professors, mentors, guidance counselors, friends, or community. However,
when studentsreceive mixed messages about a particular decision, the student
becomes unsure of what to do next. In this case, students will often turn to the person
or persons they feel most connected to. Furthermore, when students transition into the
collegeenvironment, their vulnerability makes connections particularly important, as
they look for someone who will validate and support them throughout their collegiate
careers. When thinking about all the support I had during high school from my
parents, guidance counselors, friends, or community to enroll in college after
graduating, it seemed as if college was the only option that was available to me.
However, the mixed messages I received from my support networks about which
institution to attend, made things overwhelming and confusing. Once I began my
collegiate career at Felician, my interpersonal development had also played an
important role in the relationships I formed with different people. For instance, the
outgoing friend I had met during orientation was crucial to helping me come out of
my shell and

  • 4. Essay on James Baldwin Gage Krakower History 228: African American History Dr. Jennifer Oast MWF 2:00 2:50 February 10, 2012 James A. Baldwin James A. Baldwin, a homosexual African American novelist, was once quoted saying that the most dangerous creation of any society is the man who has nothing to lose. What it means is that society s chief concern should be a person who has absolutely nothing to lose by always sticking to their beliefs, yet everything to gain. James Baldwin embodies that quote to the absolute fullest. Not only did he push the boundaries with his works in novels and articles on racial and sexual matters, but he also was a key component in the civil rights movement and that s why James Baldwin was important in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The novel resembles Baldwin s childhood a lot based on the fact that the novels central theme is about a young man named John Grimes who is the innocent victim of his father, a religious man steeped in disgust and narrowness. It relates to Baldwin s childhood because he was the innocent victim of a father whom was religious and had a lot of hatred as well. It s a milestone in the development of American literature because it is the first novel and/or short story about Negroes to be written from a non racial point of view. Shortly after publishing his first novel, Baldwin would go on to receive a Guggenheim fellowship. In 1956 he would publish his second novel Giovanni s Room. Giovanni s Room fired up a lot of controversy because of the explicit amount of homoerotic content. It also was controversial because he explored interracial relationships, a very touchy topic at the time. The plot of the novel itself stems from Baldwin s analysis of the nature and character of homosexuality. Also, Baldwin was able to connect with a wider audience because too much of the public s surprise Giovanni s Room was primarily about white people, not African Americans. He was also making references to himself in this novel because the main character was living in Paris. Baldwin s next two novels, Another Country and Tell Me How Long the Train s Been

Those which conjure objects and those which conjure spirits. Spells which conjure objects are relatively simple to cast and rarely have negative consequences to casting. When these spells are cast incorrectly the caster is usually haunted for the rest of their lives by the tormented soul they tried to conjure. I personally don t

It is harmful as these theories have become normalized through politics, a great portion of many lives and has led them to have their free mind almost being altered. The spread of fake news is becoming a prevalent issue currently to owners of any media platform across the web as stated through Gale Databases. As it has spread to websites and social media it has become hard to distinguish the real from the fake if you are constantly being surrounded by the fake. The question of why so many people believe in conspiracy theories can be embarked upon in many different aspects as seen by Time. Through studies, we see that one s income, education, or political beliefs can alter their mind. But also a mentality implemented through politics and the tension around that can be harming people. The third stage is when the case manager discusses with the client what they are willing to do to meet their goals and help them choose strategies to meet them. 5. How do you calmly and effectively deal with a high stress situation? When I feel stressed I do not let the client see it. I hold my composure and out of the clients presence I relax my mind by walking or listening to calm music. • 8. Recycling And Recycling Essay Have you seen how great the sky looks lately? Individually as humans we have been doing a great job in maintaining our environment. Just look at how many more landfills we have compared to recycling plants, It s truly an amazing sight to behold. It is nice to know that all of the materials that could have been reused are going back in the ground where they came from. We are often bombarded with news articles, tv commercials, and social media about how the destruction of the Earth is approaching at a pace faster than before. These are alternative facts. Trees are everywhere. They d rule the world if it weren t for us. It is difficult to travel for more than ten minutes without seeing a tree. However, self proclaimed environmentalists get aggravated if you try to cut so much as a single tree without pledging to plant one hundred more! It is a common belief that we are not doing enough for the Earth, but what more could we do? We use the resources we need, and then we put them right back where they came from. Clearly recyclingplants and recycling receptacles are being rendered obsolete by the infamous trash bin/landfill combo. They are a huge waste of space. Assuming that we just threw everything away, it would create a considerable amount of space for more practical buildings such as oil refinery s, plastic manufacturing plants, the list goes on to give better alternatives for taxpayer dollars. Many people do not even recycle, because they know that trash or recycle it

In chapter 2 A Short History of CareerConfusion is from How to Find Fulfilling Work by Roman Krznaric, the author argues that finding the meaningful career is challenging because people have too much choice now. They feel frustrated that they spend lots of time dealing with dull emails or marketing products they do not really like. In Rethinking Work , author Barry Schwartz writes, Today, in factories, offices and other workplaces, the details may be different but the overall situation is the same: Work is structured on the assumption that we do it only because we have to (1). Some people make a difference. In How To Find Fulfilling Work, the moral philosopher Peter Singer writes, He argues that our greatest hope for personal fulfillment is dedicating our lives and if possible our working lives...especially an ethical one such as animal rights, poverty alleviation or environmental justice (67). Make a difference is a good way to find a fulfilling career. Not only do people make a positive contribution to people and society, but people also reflect their values. They can gradually sense day to day the influence of their work upon an audience from their heart. For example, my dad is a bank teller. Not only is he interested in finance, but he also likes to help others in need. That motivates him to work well every day. Some people think that this job is repetitive and boring. However, my dad enjoys it. He told me a meaningful experience. One day, an old man told my dad that he lost his pass book. He felt so worried and had no idea what to do next. He almost cried and told my dad that the pass book saved all money. Then my dad calmed down him and helped him find his pass book. He tried his best to apply for a simple and quick way to solve the problem. Finally, and old man felt grateful for my dad s help. Making a difference is necessary for us to reflect our values and help others in need. It enriches our life experience. In addition, it enables us to make a difference to other people. We can make a

  • 12. Essay A Comparison of Capitalism and Marxism A Comparison of Capitalism and Marxism This essay will compare the economic principles of capitalism and communism by giving brief historical background on both and describing the two. I will begin with the father of economy, Adam Smith, and finish with the theories of Karl Marx. Adam Smith believed that if everyone behaves selfishly we are doing what is best for the economy of our society. This is what is known as enlightened selfishness. Enlightened selfishness is one of the main elements of capitalism. Profit is the motive for production of goods and greed is a virtue. You can own private property, but to maintain that private property you need capital to invest. Investing in something is always a risk. The larger the risk, ... The owners were the people profiting the most from this system. Because the common worker was so easy to come by and easy to underpay, the owners could have a higher profit. All of this and child labor too. Children and women were under paid even more so than men. Urbanization forced the creation of working class districts. These slums had no running water, diseases such as small pox and typhus were commonplace, people were clustered around the factories creating crowded flats and mortality rates were incredibly high. Marx and others saw capitalism as going hand in hand with these horrors. Communism is considered a reaction to the evils of capitalism. Another way of saying communism is dialectical materialism. Karl Marx borrowed many ideas from the ideas of Gregor Hagel. Karl Marx was a German professor and theoretician, he published 2 famous works The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Das Kapital (1866). Before he could finish Das Kapital he died, Friedrich Engels finished the book. Frederik Angles was a collaborator of Marx s and co author of the book. Marx saw the exploitation of the common worker and predicted a revolution that would see the rise of the proletariat against the capitalistic suppressors. Proletariat is a term used by Marx to describe the working class. He also
  • 13. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Mcardle s Syndrome McArdle s Syndrome is a muscle metabolism disorder that is caused by a deficiency of the glycogen enzyme muscle phosphorylase (Quinlivan). Muscle phosphorylase is the enzyme that breaks down glycogen during glycolysis. Without this enzyme, the body has a difficult time going through anaerobic glycolysis and can cause an individual to experience intense musclepains. It is estimated that 1 in every 100,000 people will get McArdle s Syndrome (Haller). McArdle s Syndrome is a genetic disorder, so there is no preventing it. Even the unaffected child of an affected person will have a 50% chance of being a carrier, which means they could pass it on to their own children (MartГn). Other common names for McArdle s Syndrome are Glycogen Storage disease type V (GSDV) and McArdle disease (MartГn, Quinlivan). The symptoms of McArdle s Syndrome were recognized about 65 years ago by Brian McArdle. In 1959, it was found that all these symptoms were due to a glycogen phosphorylase deficiency in the muscles (Haller). Some of these symptoms include rapid fatigue, myalgia, and muscle cramps in exercising muscles. These symptoms usually occur during the first 10 minutes of exercise. Muscle cramps are one of the major signs of McArdle s Syndrome. To prevent these muscle cramps, one should avoid high intensity and maximal aerobic exercise. Muscle weakness occurs in 25% of people diagnosed with McArdle s Syndrome and is more likely to involve proximal muscles and people over the age of 40.

In fictional books, characters are given emotion and senses like any other actual person, which can make the reader relate quicker in detail unlike factual novels. In other words, readers gain a new perspective on a period of time by examining a fictionnovel. Ironically, some argue fiction can educate us about part of our life by enabling us to relate and empathize. I am certain that many people can learn factual items in fictional stories. In Kindred, by Octavia Butler, the near death experiences of Rufus Weylin transported an African American woman named Dana from 1976, to the antebellum south to gain an unbelievable experience of what it is like to have been a slave. Through her daily life on the Weylin plantation, the reader begins to understand just how complicated slaveryis and how it affects both the slaves and the plantation owners. This novel gave a new definition of reality and a new meaning of the 19th century exploitation practice. Butler first describes the scenery of where she is living by stating she lived in Southern California. She then states that Dana is transported to Maryland in 1815. I was in a green pace. Abstract The purpose of this article by Diffenbaugh et.al. is to determine how temperature increases due to anthropogenic warming change the probability of precipitation deficits that cause severe drought conditions, and determine what the conditions will look like in the future. They used historical precipitationand temperature data with Palmer Drought Metrics and global climatemodels to attempt to answer this question. It was found that in the past twenty years, the frequency of drought years has doubled, without any significant change in the trends of precipitation variability. This was attributed to significant increases in positive temperature anomalies causing an increased frequency of precipitation deficits leading to more occurrences of drought years. Global climate modeling suggested that by 2030, the region will transition to a regime where there is a 100% risk that all future dry years will coincide with warmer conditions, increasing the risk of extended drought conditions. This is not the first time this region has experienced prolonged drought conditions. However, it is the first time the drought has been this severe. Since 1977, the per capita water usage has decreased such that in 2013 the water demand is similar to that of 1977, meaning that it will be very difficult to come up with new short term water conservation ideas. The Horrible And Gruesome Events Of The Holocaust The author of Night, a novel documenting the horrible and gruesome events of the holocaust, Elie Wiesel expresses his experiences and observations in which he and his fellow Jews were dehumanized while living in concentration camps (a hell on earth). All Jews, as a race were brutalized by the Nazis during this time; reducing them to no less than objects, positions which meant nothing to them, belongings that were a nuisance. Nazis would gather every Jew that they could find and bring them to these infernos, separating the men and women. Families, not knowing it would never see each other again. Individuals within the categories were divided even more, based on their health, strength, and age. They would be judged by a Nazi officer, which would then decide their fate, if they would have the opportunity to live or if they would be sentenced strait to execution. Steroid Hormone Lab Report Specific Aim The female gonadal steroid estrogen has been shown to suppress homeostatic feeding and body weight by its action in the arcuate nucleus, ventromedial hypothalamus, paraventricular nucleus, nucleus of the solitary tract, and dorsal raphe. There is also evidence that in female rodents, estrogen can influence behaviors associated with food reward which are known to be regulated by the mesolimbic dopamine system. However, the precise locations or mechanisms of action within the mesolimbic system through which estrogen influences food reward are not known. I hypothesize that in female rats, estrogen signaling through ERОІ in the VTA and/or NAc suppresses palatable food reward. This system consists of dopamine (DA) neurons in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) and their efferent projections to areas such as the nucleus accumbens (NAc) and prefrontal cortex (PFC). It has been shown that the presentation of food, or food associated cues, stimulates DA release in NAc[14,15], and this DA is necessary to facilitate motivated behavior[16]. Both the VTA and NAc express estrogen receptors (ER) [17], and both regions respond to ovarian cyclicity such that the activity of VTA DA neurons [18] and NAc DA content [2] are depressed during proestrus. Furthermore, peripheral estrogen treatment has been shown to increase VTA D3R mRNA levels [19], decreases VTA TH immunoflourescence[20], decrease stimulated DA release in NAc [21], and to prevent OVX induced decrease in NAc D2R[22]. From this, it appears that estrogen has the capacity to depress mesolimbic DA signaling and therefore it is possible that estrogen can decrease the rewarding properties of palatable food, decrease the motivation to acquire food, and subsequent

Different Types of Protocols Police Officers Must Consider There are different types of protocols police officers must consider and exhibit when communicating with others in a variety of situations. For typical police situations, officers must consider whether they are emergency or non emergency situations. Other common places in which officers are required to exhibit different forms of protocol for communication include in correctional facilities and in courtroom settings. In all of the situations, officers must be aware of both their verbal and non verbal forms of communication, the latter of which is just as valuable as the former in conveying messages to others (Server, no date). In non emergency conventional police situations, it is extremely advisable for officers to convey a sense of relaxation and amicable helpfulness in both their demeanors as well as in their voices. One s posture in these situations should be comfortable, and change positions at discreet intervals to demonstrate a sense of relaxation. Similarly, the officer s voice should offer some degree of fluctuation, and not come across to loud or commanding. For instance, it would be acceptable for an officer to wave to whomever he is communicating with when first getting that person s attention, and to speak in easy, reserved tones without raising his voice too loudly. Failure to follow this protocol could result in undesirable consequences, the most likely of which could be a lack of cooperation on the part of whomever the officer is communicating with. If

Jazz 219 Charles Mingus Charles Mingus is a very important and influential name in jazz; however he is left out by many historians when talking about the history of jazz. The main reason he is left out by so many historians, Mark Gridley in particular, is because of his attitude and ego. He is clearly not the most pleasant person, and he surely does not display how a real jazz musician should act, at least according to most historians. Another chapter I would also include him in would be Chapter 5, How Swing Differs from Early Jazz . I would include Mingus in this chapter as well because it talks so much of his most influential Jazz artist, and at one point fellow band mate, Duke Ellington. I feel like Mingus truly does have enough variance in his music to help point out and draw the fine line between early jazz and the newer swing jazz. The main differences between these two categories of jazz are that in early jazz, you were a lot less likely to have the big band feel to the music, and soloist played a more important role in early jazz, whereas in the swing era, you were introduced to more of a variety of instruments as well as new techniques on how to play them. Mingus puts out good examples and songs/performances that clearly display how things transitioned from early Jazz to swing, and then onto other evolutions of jazz as well. After learning and hearing many of Charles Mingus s music, I definitely feel it is unfair for any historian to leave him out of an in depth jazz history book. I hope jazz book writers to come take note of Mingus s accomplishments, and start to include him in the history books right up there with Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Louis Armstrong. It is only fair to him and his fellow band mates, however, only time will

To find happiness, we must go through different tribulations and situations where life doesn t seem to be so easy. Happiness is an art that can be learned, it describes a deep sense of inner well being, peace and vitality. You must know that even from your worst moments in life there is something good to take out of it. If we really want to be happy we must be grateful for what we have, we must enjoy everything that has been given to us. We must remember that out there, there is people wishing or working hard for what we already have. It is seen that the American government is neither an elitist dictatorship, nor a system where power is evenly distributed to the full extent among the people. An example of the plural elitism relationship in the American government can be seen in the relationship between all the states. • 49. Christian Luther s Freedom In his writing The Freedom of a Christian, Martian Luther discusses a wide variety of elements regarding the Christian faith walk. These topics include; The inner soul and outer body, faith and works, those in power through the Catholic Church, the common man, and finally humanity and God s role in the lives of His creation. Luther approaches these topics with the strong bias of faith alone bringing salvation and reconciliation with God. It can be seen that with these views Luther believes on the other hand, that works are a product of faith, but have no direct connection to one s righteousness or salvation. Throughout his writing Luther pulls from various contexts, scriptures, and logic to effectively support his argument of faith alone and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through faith we are caught up beyond ourselves into God. Likewise, through love we descend beneath ourselves through love to serve our neighbor (88). In his book The Freedom of a Christian, Luther provides the reader with informative, logical, and Biblically sound arguments to support His stand on faith alone being the avenue to salvation and not only by works. It can found throughout Luther s text that once faith has been established it creates a foundation for works to be used as an outward expression of said faith. It is not by hands alone that bring salvation, rather it is the interworking of the soul, mind, and body that form a faith driven Christ

Investment Parameters for a 5 Ply Automatic Corrugation Plant INVESTMENT PARAMETERS FOR 5 PLY DOUBLE FACER PLANT Automatic Corrugated Board Making Plant Analysis of its Viability in Current Economic Conditions The best benefit of 5 ply plant is, you can deliver the boxes in dry condition much faster than the single facer plant. If you have the kraft paper you can produce the boxes within one hour. The finish of the boxes is better than the single facer box. Even with lower grammage paper you can produce better boxes. The compression strength of 5 ply plant box is about 10% higher than the single facer box. This is my experience. The labour requirement is less in the 5 ply plant and you can use 5 different types of paper, 5 different varieties of paper to produce a single box to achieve a ... • 51. The Muscular Dystrophy Was First Discovered By Guillaume... Duchenne muscular dystrophy was first discovered by Guillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne in the 1860 s, but due to lack of medical knowledge little was known until the 1980 s. It was in 1986 that researchers that were supported by the MDA, muscular dystrophy association, identified the particular X chromosome that leads to DMD, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Dystrophin is the protein that is associated with the gene and was named in 1987.The DMD gene is the second largest gene to date, and it produces dystrophin.(Genome, 2013) Lack of the protein Dystrophin in the muscle cells causes them to weaken and become fragile. (MDA, 2015). DMD is an inherited disorder, but there are rare cases where it can spontaneously appear in a child with no previous family history due to a random mutation in moms X chromosome. DMD is a gender specific disease that only appears in males. Females are carriers in their X Chromosome and they have the chance of passing the disease on to their children, 50 50 to a girl and 50 50 to a boy. If the girl does receive the gene she becomes a carrier. If the boy gets the gene then he has the disease. Males do not pass on the gene to their children because they pass on the Y chromosome and the disease is X specific. Some female carriers have indicators of being a carrier by having symptoms of cardiomyopathy, shortness of breath during exercise, and muscle weakness in the back, arms, and legs. There have been very rare instances where a girl has not received a

First of all, the water quality is defined by its characteristics. They may be biological, chemical, and physical. The water quality standards differ due to several environmental impacts. Physically, the first tested impact is temperature. It has a high influence on the quality since it may cause different type of pollution and will also have a high influence on biological activities. When the temperature of water will become very far from its acceptable range, there will have a direct negative impact on species and living organisms. The water temperature is inversely proportional to the dissolved oxygen level. The second factor that affects the water quality is the potential of hydrogen pH . Many organisms are affected by their medians pH. If the pH gets outside of its acceptable range, plants and animals die. It is divided into three categories: acidic ( 7), neutral (= 7), basic ( 7). When the median is acidic, it causes corrosion for the pipes and aesthetic problems. When the median is alkaline, the water will become bitter. Solids are divided into two categories: suspended and dissolved. They are present in lakes and streams. Suspended solids are particles that will be retained by filtering. It includes silts and sediments. Aquatic life is negatively affected when the level of TDS is high. They are mostly found in acidic rainfall like H+ and hard water like

The Importance Of Student Cognitive Development As I consider my interpersonal, intrapersonal, and cognitive development, I find that my collegiate career reflects the themes emphasized in Student Connectedness Theory. According to the interpersonal component of this theory, students rely on various sources of people before making decisions, such as their parents, family relatives, professors, mentors, guidance counselors, friends, or community. However, when studentsreceive mixed messages about a particular decision, the student becomes unsure of what to do next. In this case, students will often turn to the person or persons they feel most connected to. Furthermore, when students transition into the collegeenvironment, their vulnerability makes connections particularly important, as they look for someone who will validate and support them throughout their collegiate careers. When thinking about all the support I had during high school from my parents, guidance counselors, friends, or community to enroll in college after graduating, it seemed as if college was the only option that was available to me. However, the mixed messages I received from my support networks about which institution to attend, made things overwhelming and confusing. Once I began my collegiate career at Felician, my interpersonal development had also played an important role in the relationships I formed with different people. For instance, the outgoing friend I had met during orientation was crucial to helping me come out of my shell and

Goodnight And Good Luck Analysis Goodnight and Good Luck The movie Goodnight and Good Luck, released October 9th, 2005, Edward Murrow and his news team at CBS deal with exposing Joseph McCarthy, a Wisconsin senator who was going after possible communists. The movie starts out with members at CBS signing documents to confirm they are not communist, because everyone must pick a side. Ed then talks about the military because they were actively trying and convicting people without any evidence or proof that they are even members of the communist party. After this episode a man who was suspected to be a communist was freed because of the lack of evidence against him. In their next episode they go after McCarthy, inviting him to the show, which he accepts. In McCarthys recorded response he claims Murrow is a communist. CBS then responds by stating we shouldn t use media to paint a negative view of others and then it turns in thier favor when McCarthy begins being investigated himself....
