Opinion Essay Ideas
Writing an essay on the topic "Opinion Essay Ideas" can be quite challenging for several reasons.
Firstly, the topic itself is quite broad, encompassing a wide range of potential opinions and ideas,
which can make it difficult to narrow down a specific focus. Additionally, crafting a coherent
argument or thesis statement within the confines of an opinion essay can be tricky, as it requires
careful consideration of various perspectives and evidence to support one's viewpoint.
Furthermore, since an opinion essay is inherently subjective, there's a constant need to balance
personal opinions with objective analysis and evidence, which can sometimes be a delicate task.
It's crucial to strike the right balance between expressing one's opinions passionately while also
backing them up with credible sources and logical reasoning.
Moreover, the process of brainstorming and organizing ideas for an opinion essay can be time-
consuming and mentally demanding. It often involves conducting thorough research to gather
relevant information and examples that support the chosen viewpoint. Additionally, the essay
must be structured in a way that effectively communicates the argument to the reader, which
requires careful planning and organization of thoughts.
Overall, writing an essay on the topic "Opinion Essay Ideas" requires critical thinking, analytical
skills, and the ability to articulate one's thoughts effectively. It's a challenging task that demands
careful consideration of various perspectives and evidence to support the chosen opinion.

Never Elsewhere Neil Gaiman Analysis
The world is a very interesting place. The earth has temperatures from 136 to 126
degrees Fahrenheit, depths of over 35,000 feet, and heights of over 29,000 feet.
These climates and elevations ultimately shape the human world. Habitats
everywhere from humid rainforest to the scorching desert each support an
ecosystem of their own. The setting of anything, whether a fantasy story or an
academic documentary, is very important. Nothing lives in a vacuum. The setting of
the novel Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is a very interesting place which plays a
pivotal role in the book s development of character, plot, and theme.
The story takes place in London, with a young man named Richard Mayhew.
Richard is an individual with a good heart, beautiful fiancГ©, and an overall
normal life. He and his fiancГ©, named Jessica, were rushing towards a very
important dinner with Mr. Stockton, a corporate entity and Jessica s boss, but
Richard stumbles by a little girl bleeding on a London sidewalk. The girl bloodied
girl spits out desperately that she cannot be taken to any hospital. Richard feeling
drawn to the stranger picks up the doll like body, feeling the blood soaking into his
shirt, to care for her at his apartment. The situation is tense, because Jessica s dinner
is very important as well. This situation escalates to the ... Show more content on

Funeral Decedent Essay
If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation
of their loved one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the
funeral home s website for guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization
and a brief ceremony would be scheduled during visitation or service hours, the
information would be published in a newspaper obituary or added to an online
obituary for those wanting to attend.
If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a
non sectarian funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral
director must be advised during arrangements. The family must provide the DD
214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the branch the decedent belonged to and
could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket during services. It becomes
the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation of the various
fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the
funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization
funeral rite, including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure
everything goes according to plan. During a fraternal funeral ceremony, the
organization is able to provide full military honors, which might include either a 21

colleagues to initiate and participate in this modified family structure (Fritch Steward,

Stop School Shootings
School shootings have become a major problem not only in South Carolina, but in
the United States. School shootings have shockingly become more likely now than
ever. A recent report showed that over 230 school shootings have arose since 2013,
meaning that there has been at least 1 school shooting per week for the last 4 years.
Once students experience these traumatic happenings, the district as a whole receives
lower standardized test scores, lessened student enrollment and even frightened
parents. Parents begin to lose faith in the school system and no longer find comfort
in sending their child to and from that school. By definition, school shootings are
anytime a firearm discharges a live round inside a school building or on a school
campus or school grounds. This connection question s objective to read about a
specific school shooting, it stood out to me that every child has a motive for the
school shooting whether big or small. Therefore, I have conducted research to find
out why and how to stop school violence.
In my opinion, teachers most certainly should be able to identify and designate
those who appear to carry out school shootings. Being a teacher puts you in a front
row seat to critique and evaluate signs that may not be shown to parents. Teachers
should be able to identify children who seem hopeless, distracted, or are even
victims of bullying to get them the necessary help that they deserve. I also feel as
though being at school brings out a different side

Why Year Round School Is More Harm Than Good
Children Need Summer Break
Students look forward to getting out of school for summer. They count down the
last few days until the bell rings on that last day and they are out for summer break.
They get so excited to be able to go on vacations, spend more time reading, visiting
family, and of course, sleeping in. Children also look forward to going back to school
after summer break. They are so excited for the first day of class that they have to
get all new school supplies. They wake up extra early and are ready to learn on that
first day. If school was all year round, I believe students would never look forward
to school and would affect their learning. Therefore, in my opinion, I do not believe
school should be year round.
Why Year Round School Is More Harm Than Good
Year round schooling is a topic that is emerging widely throughout the United States
in this day and time. It is said that it is suppose to better the school systems and help
students with their schoolwork. However, I think year round schooling could do
more harm than good to students, families, as well as teachers. A few ways that it
could be more harm than good are that the school would have to spend more money
to keep the school running, not enough vacation time, and conflicts with the teachers
and administrators. With year round school, the budget will go up with the cost to
provide food, utilities, and other things that are provided for the students. In order for
the school to stay up and
Sex, Lies, And Conversation, By Deborah Tannen
The methods in which men and women communicate are eminently different. This
being so, their external state is an indicator of their inner state, but men and women
have different external states to express themselves. This is especially evident among
children and individuals in relationships, and altered between a couple who tries to
adjust their behavior. Deborah Tannen, the author of Sex, Lies, and Conversation,
argues that boys are girls are taught to have a differ inner state, that males and females
usually have the same inner state but express them differently when communicating,
and that individuals in romantic relationships can alter the way they present their
outer state to represent their inner state in a way their partner can relate to. Tannen
has unmistakably given a considerable amount of thought about the way children are
taught and observe communication. Tannen holds that maleand femalechildren are
taught to communicate differently as they grow older, which can cause
communication problems later in their lives. Children are unquestionably
impressionable and girls in particular are taught how and expected to be particularly
nurturing and concerned about the state of others. Boys are taught to be tough and
strong, and this is where the disconnect occurs. Girls are taught to have an inner state
of warmth and concern, and boys are taught to have an inner state that outwardly
appears to be somewhat standoffish and disconnected. A child s actions may gain
Steps Of The Plan Do Check Act ( Pdca ) Cycle
PDCA Outline
Plan
The first step of the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) cycle is plan. The planning step of
the cycle is extremely important and crucial to the success of the project. I
undertook this exact issue as a process improvement project early on in my career
and already went through the exercise of analyzing the account activity and
assigning a risk score to each and every balance sheet account. At the time, there
were 854 individual balance sheet accounts that needed reconciled. Currently this
count has grown to 1,047, which means that an additional 193 accounts would need
analyzed. The plan for this project now needs to consist of cursory review of the
previously assigned accounts and a more in depth analysis of the additional 193 ...

There is no reason to waste resources reconciling an account that is no longer being
used. The next step of 5S that is beneficial to the process is straightening. The
accounts should be straightened into broader categories, rather than looking that
them individually, which saves time and is more efficient. For instance, all cash
accounts should be grouped and analyzed together, as they will be handled the same.
The work is not done when the sorting and straightening has been completed,
nonetheless. The newly sorted and straightened list should continue to be shined,
another step of 5S, on a routine basis to make sure there are no changes. As
previously mentioned, the controller reserves the right to adjust the reconciliation
priority at any time. New accounts are likely to be created that will need sorted and
straightened and other accounts will also go inactive. 5S is an ongoing process and
the sustainability is one of the S s. The final S stands for standardize. The account
reconciliation process should be standardized. Standardization and uniformity in the
reconciliation process and the reconciliation work papers add to the quality of the
review. It is much easier for a reviewer or auditor to check reconciliations that are
prepared in a consistent fashion.
Do
The Do step of the PDCA cycle is where the action of the project really happens. The
new reconciliation schedule is implemented during this stage. As previously
mentioned some accounts will continue to be
Christian Tradition And Its Effect On Violence Essay
In the Christian Tradition, there are instances in which the use of violence is
justifiable. Before 313 A.D, Christians have followed the traditional pacifist view to
not support the use of violence and the state s use of war, even if the use of war is to
reject tyranny, solve conflict, and advance peace. However, Christian s attitudes
toward violence and war began to change when Constantine issued the Edict of Milan
in 313 A.D. With this change in attitude, the Christian just wartheory developed after
Rome was invaded by the Visigoths in 410 A.D. The first instance when the use of
violence was justifiable was examined in the New Testament. The New Testament
contradicted the chapter of Luke about the Sermon on the plain and beatitudes,
which argued that Christians are not justified in using the tool of war to promote
peace. If you are hated your response should be to love and embrace the violent
doer and allow the enemy to impose violence onto you. In contrast, the New
Testament embraced the use of the sword, as Jesus did when he commanded the
disciples to buy swords and drive the money changers out of the temple with a
sword. These Medieval Christians were imitating Christ role s and argues for the use
of violence.
This led to the just war theory, which is another instance when the use of violence is
justifiable. The just war theory argues that in some instances the use of violence is
justifiable. Love may be primarily of morality but force, such as war which is state
The Legacy of the Qing Dynasty

INTRODUCTION
The Qing Dynasty lasted for 268 years and was the last dynasty in China and was
declared in 1644 by the Manchurian people of outer China after the conquest of the
Ming Dynasty. It fell in 1849 to the Chinese communist party (CCP) led by Mao

regards to the new Alien Rulers caused havoc and widespread chaos, small anti Qing
efforts were formed in order to secure surviving Ming princes and restore the Ming

Silk and porcelain industries in particular flourished; in Jingdezhen, porcelain
making industries recorded almost 100 000 workers and during the late 1600s
became a main component of the trade between the east and the west, In Suzhou,
Silk manufacturing industries had around 2330 workers and also became a viable
item of trade, other places like Hangzhou and Nanjing also produced high quality

Qing era saw the development of Remittance Banks which allowed a merchant to
exchange metallic currency for a remittance certificate, in which he could collect his
money elsewhere; these banks became vital to the progression of commercial activity
in China. Under the successful but unpopular Qing regime, new crops were
established and sweet potato, maize and peanuts became introduced into the Chinese
diet. During the reign of the Yongzheng emperor, the Qing Government also
introduced a new tax policy that only allowed the payment of taxes through money
(copper or silver, for larger transactions) rather than the previous goods and wares tax
that allowed the Chinese to pay taxes in things like agricultural produce. The new
amount of tax payed by civilians was almost entirely dependent upon the amount of

medication. Yes , I agree that these are very serious issues. Consequently, some
people abuse drugs to cope with real life problems such as pain, stress, anxiety or
depression, but unfortunately, without realizing it, they are only worsening their
already existing problems. Recovery from drug addiction is a trying process that most
times involves setbacks. In addition, relapse doesn t does not mean that the treatment

Merchant Of Venice Shylock Greed Quotes
In the play Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare, Shylock, a jew, is an evil
man with only hate, money, and revenge on his mind. Shylock is a money lender in
the city of Venice during the sixteenth century. Looked down upon by society,
Shylock despises most of the people of Venice, but he is an accepted part of society
only because of his practice of money lending. Antonio, a merchant in Venice, allows

Famous Violinist Argument
In this paper, I will argue how Judith Thomson s Famous Violinist counterexample is
a counterargument to the conclusion that, morally speaking, a fetus may never be
aborted. First, I will explain the targeted argument that Thomson is challenging. Next,
I will present her counterexample, the Famous Violinist case. Then, I will describe
Thomson s argumentfunction as a counterargument. In my evaluation, I will defend
how the famous Violinist case is a successful counterexample by proposing an
objection to this counterargument and give an explanation to defend Thomson s
counterexample.
For the purpose of understanding this paper, a counterargument is an argument that

One argument against this analogy is the violinist and abortion has many differences.
Assuming that the Thomson s case is a large analogy, one can argue that a fetus and
the mother have a biological connection together, while the violinist and the abducted
person are artificially connected. Therefore, there is a major difference between the
two. However, this relationship is not a sound argument to provide relevance to the
moral permissibility. Moreover, one can argue the analogy used in this case is not an
argument. The counterexample does not use the analogy to make the whole
argument. If the analogy is not included in the counterexample, the counterexample
will still be just as effective because violinist in her counterexample can be replaced
with a fetus. This word swap will retain the same idea. The moral standing of this case
provide sufficient proof that this counterargument was successful at disproving the
target argument premise
The Nurse And Child Health Care
The nurse explored in this essay is registered nurse, midwife and child health care
nurse Ellen Savage. Savage joined the Australian Army Nursing Service in early
1941, here she served in the Australian General Hospital in Concord, Sydney
(Gendek, 2007; Prior, 2013). March of 1942, Savage was posted to board the
Australian Hospital ship the Centaur where she would collect injured service men
from Papua New Guinea (Daly, Speedy Jackson, n.d.; Gendek, 2007). Early morning
of the 14th of May the Centaur was hit by a torpedo from a Japanese submarine
causing the ship to sink in under three minutes (Gendek, 2007; Prior, 2013). Ellen
was the only nurseto survive the attack, however she did obtain severe injuries of
her own including fractured ribs, fractured nose and palate, perforated eardrums
and multiple bruising including a badly bruised eye (Daly, Speedy Jackson, n.d.;
Gendek, 2007; Prior, 2013). Ellen Savage worked selflessly and ceaselessly
throughout the rapid destruction of the vessel regardless of her own injuries,
rationing little food and water that was available as well as providing any care she
could manage to the survivors suffering from burns, fractures open wounds and
preparing burials for those that died (Gendek, 2007). Ellen Savage continued to

King Louis Ix And Richard Lionheart
The Medieval period was perhaps one of the most interesting and unique time
periods in history. This time is usually viewed as a lull in progress or lacking
productivity, when in reality this was one of the most pivotal points in history. Two
people who played outstanding roles in this time period were those of King Saint
Louis IX of Franceand Richard Lionheart I of England. Both King Louis IX and
Richard Lionheart made significant social, political, and cultural advancements to
society by contributing leadership techniques and government systems that were
pivotal in the Medieval times, yet very contrasting of each other in their execution.
King Louis IX of France was born April 25, 1214 in Poissy, France to the parents of
Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castille. King Louis, commonly known as
Saint Louis, ruled from the age of twelve after his father s death in 1226 until his
death in 1270. He was the fourth born child, but the three before him died at young
ages, and seven were born after him. As a child, Louis had temper fits which lead
to questioning of his decision making as king of France. He married Margaret of
Provence at age twenty in 1234. Margaret was the sister in law to King Henry III of
England, sisters with Eleanor of Provence.
Richard The Lionheart I of England was born September 8, 1157 in Beaumont
Palace, Oxford, England to the parents of Henry II, and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was

Merchant Of Venice Quotes
Merchant of Venice
Zackyia
Shakespeare s plays are an important part of history. They re spectacular tales, they
proposed phrases that we still use today, and they re a huge part of our culture. All
of Shakespeare s plays are full of so many well written quotes that can be expanded
on in so many ways. One of these plays is The Merchant of Venice, despite being
filled with tons of wonderful quotes there s one in particular that caught my eye.
In one of the scenes there s the character Jessica who s dressed up as a boy. She is
embarrassed by her apparel but she says But love is blind, and lovers cannot see
The pretty follies themselves commit. This quote represents that she is confident
that her lover Lorenzo still loves her despite of her appearance. In this scene Jessica
has also just stole money and jewelry from her father Shylock. The thievery and the
fact she s dressed up as a boy may refer to The pretty follies she mentions.
Love is blind is a phrase that is still frequently used today, it is a wonderful example
of a metaphor and personification. Love is a concept not a person so that s where
the personification comes in. It s a metaphor because it figuratively compares love to
being blind. When Jessica states that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example is the character Antonio s blind love for Bassanio. Antonio s love for
Bassanio is so strong he s willing get money from Shylock the Jew of whom he
despised. He also was willing to form a bond with Shylock which resulted in
Antonio almost getting a pound of his flesh removed. Another example of blind
love in this play is Launcelot and his father Old Gobbo. Old Gobbo was literally a
blind man who was going to give a gift to Launcelot s (past) master Shylock. This
was to show his appreciation for Shylock taking care of his son. Even though
Launcelot played pranks on his father and didn t show any gratitude, Old Gobbo was

How Is Cyrus Relevant Today
Cyrus II, commonly referred to as Cyrus The Great, was the king of Persia.
Although the exact birth of Cyrus is unknown to us, historians have been able to
narrow it down to some here between 600 and 580 BCE . Cyrus is renowned for
being one of the greatest historical conquerors who in his lifetime conquered
everywhere from Lydia and Babylonia to the Greek cities of Asia Minor . However
in many historical ancient texts, such as the works of Xenophanes and a number
of sacred Jewish texts, Cyrus is often described as a liberator as apposed to a
conqueror . Cyrus was very tolerant ruler and accepting of all local religious faiths,
because of this he expected his subjects to do the same. Cyrus the Greathas remained
throughout history as one of the most tolerant and politically influential leaders from
ancient civilisation, after establishing the first human rights charter containing values
still relevant today.
Unfortunately very little is known of Cyrus s life before he came into power as
most sources are lost or damaged. According to Herodotus, Cyrus s grandfather
Astyages, Median king, was told in a dream that his grandson would one day attempt

Odyssey Essay
In Homer s epic, The Odyssey, Odysseus is the epic hero. Many different traits are
possessed by a stereotypical hero including that he travels on a great journey, he
possesses great intelligence and cleverness, and he faces supernatural foes on his
journey. The first trait that is possessed by a stereotypical hero is that they possess
great intelligence and cleverness. This is demonstrated by Odysseus from The
Odyssey when he and his crew mates were trapped in the cave with the giant, blind
cyclops. The cyclops had trapped them in his cave along with his sheep flock.
Possessing cleverness, Odysseus made a plan to ride under the bellies of the cyclops
sheep to escape from the cave. This was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example of this witty trait was when Odysseus and his men were sailing
past the sirens who lived in the sea. Odysseus put wax in his men s ears so that the
sirens would not be able to lure them into crashing their boat and jumping in the
water. An oracle told Odysseus that he needed to listen to the sirens, so he had his
men tie him to the mast so tight, that he could not untie himself, and that no matter
how much he whined and moaned, his men were to leave him tied up.
Ciarochi 2
Another trait of stereotypical heroes is that they face supernatural foes.
Odysseus and his men were facing a supernatural, and enormous, cyclops. They
escaped and plunged a spear into his eye, successfully defeating him. Odysseus also
had to face Scylla and Charybdis, which can eat six men at once, and can suck down
their ship with a whirlpool. Odysseus men had to face Zeus wrath because they
promised that they would not slaughter the cattle for food, and they did, despite
Odysseus and Zeus telling them not to. Their ship was struck with lightning, and
Odysseus was the only survivor because he crafted a raft. Another supernatural
Explain The Duty Of Care Within The Law Of Negligence
The law of negligence covers a broad spectrum, with negligence being defined to
apply in any situation where a defendant has breached a duty of care owed to a
claimant . This essay will seek to look into the different areas within the law of
negligence, to assess Lord Toulson s assertion in Micheal v Chief Constable of
South Wales (2015) . There will be a primary focus on his notion of incremental
growth , argument by analogy , and the necessity of policy considerations , with
particular regard taken towards the mixture of policy considerations, in an effort to
determine whether some areas, such as social costs, are weighed more heavily than
others. Due to the wide breath and material covered under the law of negligence, this

Furthermore, the Ann s test similarly reflects this notion of limiting potential
claims by specifying a sufficient relationship of proximity based upon
foreseeability between claimants and taking considerations on policies which
could negate a duty of care. This explicit acknowledgement of policy
considerations illustrates how the courts are keen to prevent the floodgates
opening, as a large volume of new claims could swamp the court s resources.
However, in particular to the Anns test, the incremental growth of law and the
implementation of the Caparo test didn t emerge from a lack of policy
consideration, but rather from no recognition of previous policy, as it was not
necessary to bring the facts of that situation within those of previous situation
where a duty of care had been held to exist within the Anns test. This draws
parallels with Lord Toulson s idea of an argument by analogy for extending liability
. The fact that there was no homage paid to previous case law in determining a duty
of care may contribute to the necessity of implementing the 3 stage Caparo test , as it
is necessary for courts to be consistent in their rulings so that people know where they
stand under the law. This notion is supported by the
Analysis Of Aura
Aura by Carlos Fuentes explores the ideas of fantasy and imagination against the
backdrop of Mexico City in the 1960s, coinciding with the Latin American Boom.
This was a time of literary experimentation as the Latin American novel gained
increasing popularity amongst wider audiences. As such, Fuentes uses Aurato redefine
narrative norms by incorporating genuine historical events into fantastical situations
and through the use of symbolism to heighten the feelings of the uncanny and the
unknown which linger throughout the novel.
Fuentes spent much of his own childhood in other countries, imagining his native
country rather than experiencing it for himself. On his return to Mexico, he faced a
reality much different to what he had expected from his dreams and preconceptions.
At the time, the country was in the midst of El Milagro Mexicano , in which
Mexico was going through a significant period of economic growth and social
reforms. As a result, much of the population chose to move to the now industrialised
cities in place of rural towns. This historical evidence is evident from the outset of
Aura, as even though the population was growing in modern Mexican cities, this also
created a feeling of isolation and a loss of community amongst the large crowds.
By way of illustration, Fuentes descriptions of Mexico City are generally basic and
lacking in any expressive or idiomatic language. The protagonist, Felipe Montero,
does not pay any particular attention to the details of

Child Labor Rights
Mother Jones, Cesar Chavez, and Malala Yousafzai all fought for the rights that
they believed in. They all were leaders part of a big picture. Although these three
individuals used different methods to get their point across, they all had courage
to speak out about injustice and improve human rights. Mother Jones was a lady
who stood up for all of the children who were mistreated because of child labor.
When trying to get her point out, Mother Jones went to newspapers for public
articles on what was happening to these working children. Unfortunately, the
factories owned the newspapers so they wouldn t publish her position on the
subject, so she made her own form of publicity by forming a march of children and
parents. (Josephson). She was an activist for the abolishment of child labor.
Mother Jones had a lot of courage to speak out even though not a lot of people
listened. After publicly marching to Sagamore Hills, Judith Pinkerton Josephson
states, Within a few years, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and other states
did pass tougher child labor laws. The federal government finally passed a child
labor law (part of the Fair Labor Standards Act) in 1938 thirty five years after the
march of the mill children. Mother Jones was persistent on getting her message out in
public because so many people were clueless on what was happening to the children.
She would most definitely say that defending all human rights is a necessity because

Drinking And College Students
Drinking in college is a popular activity to take part in. However, that does not mean
it is healthy or useful. Alcohol companies feed off college students. Their advertising
is directed at underage drinkers, and many college students fall into that category. So,
why do these young adults drink? The answer is in the ads, the alcoholcompanies are
promoting fun times and joyous lives. Therefore, the underage students see drinking
as a social normand think they might even have a better life after they start drinking.
Nonetheless, people know the cold hard truth about alcohol, it is an unhealthy and
even deadly substance. Colleges need to fix their alcohol advertising and drinking
problems by dropping their alcohol sponsors and promoting healthier lifestyles along
with showing the students that you do not need to drink to become popular, which in
turn eliminates underage drinking and the harm that goes along with alcohol
consumption. Whether alcohol companies will admit that their advertising is focused
on underage people and more specifically underage college students, it is the truth.
Multiple tests and surveys have been conducted on students and the effect that
alcohol adverting through social media has on them. In Carrotte s article about this
topic, she conducts a study on a large group of students and young adults with a
median age of 21.1 years old. The people in the survey that marked that they had
consumed alcohol also had to fill out an audit. The
Evaluation Of A Student For Special Education Essay
In order for a student to be eligible for special education services, the regular
education teacher discovers that there is a problem. From there, a screening must
take place. The screening can consist of hearing, vision, communication, and any
other type that may be needed. Permission is not needed in order to do a screening.
Next, Response to Intervention begins, also known as RTI. This provides levels or
tiers of increasingly intensive instruction to help students master academic content.
Tier 1 takes place in a regular classroom setting. Tier 2 involves and allows the
student to go out to a specialty teacher. Tier 3 mainly takes place in a special
education classroom. Tier 3 requires more one on one instruction for the student
from the teacher. RTI serves two purposes support struggling learners and identify
students with learning disabilities. Parents are invited to take part in their child s
RTI process. Other school professionals also take part during the RTI process to
meet the child needs. Research Based Interventions are used during the RTI
process. Data is gathered during the RTI process on a regular basis. After a few
weeks, the team meets again to determine how beneficial the interventions are for
the child. If RTI is working, it is continued, if RTI is not working, a meeting takes
place where the RTI data is presented. Then the referral process initiates.
The referral process commences with an Admissions and Release Committee known
as ARC. Here, the student
European Discrimination In America
American culture can be summed up into one word, discrimination. From the time
Europeans first came to the Americas, prejudice has been a part of the life in the
Americas. In 1492 Columbus landed on an island in the Bahamas, and found it to be
easily conquered and the people taken advantage of. Slavery was a part of colonial
America, written into the Constitution of the United States, remained legal until
1865, and the state of Mississippi did not officially abolish slaveryuntil 2013. Civil
rights have been an ongoing struggle for many groups in America since its inception,
even if you were white and European, it did not automatically ensure you rights in the

The treatment of the Japanese during WWII is a stain on Americas legacy, one of
many which will never wash away. We were fighting war against Germany because
of the treatment of Jews in Europe, but interred Japanese Americans here that had
done nothing more than live here, some for generations. The America government
stripped them of property and sent them far away to live in camps. The American
government once again, with malice and forethought, discriminated against other
Americans, because of how they looked. The camp conditions were described in the
book Women in America: refocusing the Past, the condition of camp life profoundly
altered family relations and affected women of all ages and backgrounds. Family
unity deteriorated in the crude communal facilities and cramped barracks. Moving
forward in time some American have the same mind set, but have turned it towards
the Muslim community in the United States. Many politicians in the United States
today have made disparaging remarks about Muslims whether they are American
citizens or not. These people are our leaders, and have a duty to lead us in a

She wishes me luck as she slides it back to me and I stuff the hefty book into my

I start reading the book and right away it is intimidating from the very first

what is a bedfellow and why does he carry a purse? Is he gay? Immediately I am
second guessing my decision but I am determined to get through this book. It takes
me the better part of a week to get through the first chapter. I

Title:Analysis of Alison from The Millers Tale, Canterbury Tales
In The Miller s Tale, the character of Alison is introduced as the 18 year old wife of
a carpenter who is much older than the woman. The author s description of the young
wife seems to suggest that she was so wild, beautiful, and desirable that the old man
had a difficult time containing his jealousy.
Chaucer uses a number of expressions to paint a picture of the young wife. The use
of the term paint is intentional here, since Chaucer seems to be painting (with words)
the image of a picture perfect young woman who resembles a painted porcelain doll.
It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Up to this point, the reader might think the young wife was an innocent youth,
singing and dancing her way through life, wearing white dresses and driving her
older husband crazy. But there is a dark side to her personality too.
The reader is told that while the young wife is made up and dressed like a little doll,
it wouldn t be much of a stretch for men to see her as a prostitute or a slut. He even
states in the last line of this section that for some men, the young carpenter s wife
looks like the kind of woman they d like to take to bed, others would see her as the
kind they d like to take home to meet their mother (she was a flower For any lord to
leggen in his bedde, or yit for any good yeman to wedde. ).
It is obvious that while the older carpenter has married a young lusty woman who
is full of life, it could be a difficult situation for him depending upon how other men
are viewing his new wife. On the one hand, people will see her as a lovely innocent
woman, while on the other hand, because she is too picture perfect and overly
concerned about her appearance, she may (with her wanton eye) be giving people the
idea that is interested in more than the
Ethical Principle
In research studies with human and animal participation, researchers must adhere to
ethical principles to ensure the rights of participants are protected. In 1978, the
Belmont Report was issued which articulated three primary ethical principles on
which standards of ethical research conduct was based: beneficence, respect for
human dignity, and justice ( Polit Beck, 2014, p. 83). These ethical principles remain
the standards for research behavior today.
Finally, the following paragraphs will break down each ethical principle and then

Role Of Fatma Begum
Bengal could show the way to lessen gender imbalance in Indian film industry One
might not have heard the name of Fatma Begum. Indeed, she isn t quite the
household name. But her achievement as the very first Indian woman to ever single
handedly direct a movie is engraved in stone, and will always be. The year was
1926, at a time when world cinema was still experimenting with the science and
technology of motion pictures. Indian cinema had already taken long strides by then,
but produced only acting roles for women. Yet, breaking the mould, Fatma Begum
established her own production company Fatma Films and went on to direct Bulbule
Paristan! Perhaps without even realising the effect of her achievement, Fatma laid the
foundation stone for a generation of women, who sought to be employed by the
burgeoning film industry in a role other than that of an actress. The Southern film
industry encompassing three major languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada did not
see its own female driven films until the 1960s, when Savitri Ganesan the spouse of
the iconic Gemini Ganesan directed Chinnari Papalu. When one reads about it, it
seems like a rosy story. But women had to make unimaginable strides and struggles
to even tread on the path that was paved by Fatma Begum forty years earlier. Savitri

However the negative to the Olympic structure, is that not all the teams and countries

money as bigger countries have to help improve their athletes and improve their

Descriptive Statistics
The spatiotemporal pattern of water quality in the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek
watersheds exhibits a trend of river deterioration, mainly due to Fecal Coliform. Our
study suggests that most of the pollution sources were related to human activities.
Looking at table 2a to 5b, it is clear that, F.Col, coliform is the dominant parameter
with the highest means in all the sites, both at the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek
watersheds. However, there are higher mean values of this nutrient in the Buffalo
Creek watershed than the Reedy Fork creek watershed. This is clearly visible by
looking at the variation in mean variable concentrations for the individual sites
through the years under study from the graphs.
In comparison to the States Standards in table 10, Fecal Coliform for sites 7, 8, 9, 12,

The Impact Of A Current Manmade Disaster
No two disasters are exactly alike; no matter if it is by natural causes (hurricane or
earthquake) or a manmade disaster (9/11 or the London subway/bus bombings).
The main discussion will focus on the comparison of the psychological impact of a
current manmade disaster, commonly referred to as 9/11, to that of another
manmade early 1900 s disaster which involved a British ship called the Lusitania.
There will be a discussion of similarities and differences of people who directly

of disaster and the effects these events had on the world, not just the people

was a war zone). The Lusitania was attacked and sunk as it sailed to Ireland by a
German U 20 boat. The Germans claimed the ship was carrying large amounts of
war materials into what the Germans had designated a war zone (Crutchley, 2015).
Before setting sail from New York, the crew of the ship was warned by diplomatic
authorities that there was an ongoing war in that area. Furthermore, it was warned
that if the ship made the trip with passengers, it would be putting everyone in harm s
way due to the hostilities of
Thomas Hobbes And The Social Contract
Thomas Hobbes (1588 1679), an English philosopher published the work, Leviathan,
which proposed the concept of the social contract, in which societal assimilation
mandates submission to authoritarian rule, with a relinquishment of certain rights, in
return for protection and aid. Hobbes offered a foundational premise for benefits that
otherwise might be absent, if not for societal constructs. John Locke, another English
philosopher published the Essay Concerning Human Understanding, which
expounded on the work of Hobbes by proposing a more integrated and ordered
society. The societal implications meant a surrender of some individual freedoms in
return for a governmental structure tasked with the responsibility of protections,
including the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cesare believed that punishment was an effective deterrent to crime, as the offender
is rational and in control of their actions and behaviors. Cesare expressed that the
punishment should fit the crime and that adjudication and punishment should be both
swift and certain . He advocated for due process on the implication of innocence until
proven guilty and condemned torture on the same pretense as torturous punishment
towards self incrimination implies guilt prior to a guilty verdict by a judicial body.
His principles influenced classic criminology in the principles of punishment, due
process, rationality, and human rights. The Bill of Rights in the US constitution has
several concepts influenced, some believe, by his writings. (Cesare Beccaria,
2017)Jeremy Bentham, author of Introduction to the Principles of Moral and
Legislation , built on Cesare statement that punish should fit the crime , by asserting
that the hedonistic nature of man requires that the pain or punishment of committing
the crime outweigh the pleasure or reward obtained from committing the crime
(Schmalleger, 2010). Bentham asserted the position that human rationality and
hedonistic pursuits factored into the mentality of an individual s decision to commit a
crime based on proper or extreme punishments to serve as a deterrent. Hobbes

Project Life Cycle Is The Only Thing That Uniquely
Defined...
2.1 General The life cycle is the only thing that uniquely distinguishes projects
from non projects . If that is true, then it would be valuable to examine just what
role the so called Project life cycle plays in the conduct of project management. The
basic life cycle follows a common generic sequence: Opportunity, Design
Development, Production, Hand over, and Post Project Evaluation. A project can
be defined as the work required Taking an opportunity and converting it into an
asset. In this sense, both the opportunity And asset are singular, with the implied
use being for generating benefit rather than Consumed as a resource in normal
operational activity over a prolonged period. (Kerzner, 1995). 2.2 Construction
Project Life Cycle According to Lawrence, (2003) a project has been defined as
having a beginning and an end (the life) and the project can be divided up into
several stages. The project then is said to have a life cycle. The cycle does not
usually repeat. For a construction project, there are several standard stages for the
holistic picture and with looking at. The client is involved in all of these stages and
outside Appointments may only be made for some of client, depending upon client
choice and Expertise. The diagram indicates the main phases of a construction project
and the order in which they come. The design and tender stages are included within
the pre construction box under this model. Engineering commissioning is making

Dear Mr. Dewey: This letter is in response to your inquiry regarding the benefits
and feasibility of allowing your daughter to be classified as a qualified child of your
eldest son for this tax year. My conclusion is based upon the facts as provided by
you at the Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
FACTS You are legally married to Mary Dewey and reside in the same abode. Both
you and Mary file your income tax returns jointly as married. You and Mary are
anticipating an approximate Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $400,000 this year. In
your same abode, you have two children in residence; Debra, who is currently 16
years of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not the case where Van has a significantly smaller AGI than his parents, the
Dewey s. This position was affirmed by H.R. 6893, that when parents may claim a
qualifying child but do not and another taxpayer may claim the qualifying child, that
can only occur if that taxpayer s adjusted gross income is higher than the highest
adjusted gross income of either of the child s parents. In summary, Van, doesn t
qualify for head of household status on the basis of an individual who is a taxpayer s
dependent solely under В§152(d)(2)(H), which, under certain circumstances, treats as
a dependent any individual other than the taxpayer s spouse whose principal place of
abode was the taxpayer s home and who was a member of the taxpayer s household
(В¶1230). Van Dewey is not the owner of the household, and it would be unethical to
have him claim Debra Dewey as a dependent. REFERENCES Code Sec.

The Realities of College Life Essay
As I graduated high school, I thought college would just be yet another four years
of high school, and I was wrong. College opens many new doors in a young man or
woman s life. There are new responsibilities and pressures that you will have to deal
with, and with more freedom these responsibilities and pressurescan be difficult to
handle. College has changed a great deal over the years and these changes, such as
more freedoms, make college a much more challenging experience. You need to
start preparing for college now by making yourself more responsible and having
more self control. Although you think college is merely partying with easy classes
on the side, I have experienced pressures and work loads that make the experience

They did not ever want to think they would change jobs. They want to know what is
going to happen in their lives till they get to their prepaid grave (292). Zinsser
believes that students need to stop worrying so much about the pay of their jobs. He
wants students to study the subject that interests them, not which career pays the
most. There is definitely one unifying aspect that is the same between college now
and then and that is there are pressures.
In college life, students face many pressures. One of my biggest stressors was
keeping my student scholarship. After coming in to college with a 3.3 grade point
average, I knew that keeping a 3.0 in college, for my scholarship, was going to be a
challenge that I had not yet experienced. This caused me to work even harder and
sometimes even too hard. The scholarship played a large factor in choosing
Baldwin Wallace as my school of choice, so retaining my reward is of the utmost
importance to both me personally, and my parents financially. As I began classes I
realized that the work load seemed a lot larger than high school, and sometimes as
if it were never going to end. I soon realized how to balance my time between
school work and making grades, as well as meeting new people and having fun.
There are many enjoyable things that make college the great experience it has been
so far, so finding an equilibrium of hard work and good times has been one the best
new attributes I have
Darkness Alternate Ending
In the beginning there was only Darkness. He controlled everything and anything,
but nothing at the same time. There was nothing to control except Darkness:
himself. Darkness had a smug grin, a long black cloak, and the laugh of a villain.
He loved the dark and wanted nothing else but for everything to be dark forever.
There was a voice in his head that crushed his dreams and said, Someone is coming.
Your time as sole ruler has come to an end. Darkness will come to an end.
In that very moment he saw something bright walking toward him. His eyes closed
and he used his hands to shield them from the unfamiliar sensation. He yelled at the
light to shut itself off. As the light got closer, his eyes adjusted and he was able to
look at the light. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and a tear falls into it.
At that moment the urn becomes unlocked from its hiding place. Darkness s
sudden love has overpowered and has broken the lock. The urn speaks to him.
Darkness you have realised your mistakes. Sun will come back, but as for me, you
have turned me to embers. I cannot return to my original form. To fix your mistakes,
find a way for us to still be together.
Sun returns to Earth and greets Moon with a smile. Moon is ecstatic that Sun his

everlasting game of tag around the sphere. The grass came back and so did all of
the animals. Everything was back to the way it was and beautiful, just like it should

Darkness thinks for a second, then notices Sun and Moon chasing each other
around the sphere. He realises what he needs to do. He waits until Moon brings the
dark. He takes Light s embers and sprinkles the shining pieces all over the dark sky.

Louis Riel Research Paper
Riel The Hero
Louis Riel; one of the most important figures in Canada s history. This interesting
character was born in Winnipeg, the town of St. Boniface in the red river settlement.
Riel grew up with a Francophone catholic society, but he classified as a francophone
Metis. In the early life of Louis Riel, he was sent off to study at the College de
Montreal. 1868 was the year he returned to his hometown. Louis Riel s name is still
greatly remembered to this day.
Louis Riel was definitely a hero. All he wanted was equality for his people
(Francophone Metis.) Because of this, Riel lead the Red River Rebellion. Soon, Riel
also lead the North West Rebellion.
Louis Riel cared about his people s rights, so much, he declared the Red River
Rebellion, or the Red River Resistance in 1869. The Reballion was sparked by the
transfer of a territory called Rupert s Land to the young country of Canada. The
MГ©tis only took up a small portion of Rupert s Land, but they still feared their
culture and land rights were going to be taken away while still under Canadian
control. The MГ©tis people were not very happy, so the Metis announced a
rebellion, (Lead by Louis Riel.) The uprising led to the creation of the province of

Ottawa stating the concerns, a request for their own provincial government, and a
voice in Federal Government. The Rebellion started when Riel purchased weapons,
seized a church, and created a second provincial government. Louis Riel showed that
he really cared for his peoples rights by doing a rebellon not once, but
The House Of Lords Report On Surveillance, Privacy And
The...
The house of lords report on surveillance, privacy and the constitution is mainly
centered on the subject of the government and high ranking officials storing mass
amounts of data related to the general public. One of the issues that it touches on is
how easy it is for the UK to become a surveillance society . By this they mean the
usage of CCTV and data storing getting so routine that the government will know
where everyone is at all times. This is a key concern for many people as there are
ethical issues associated with it and the idea that everyone should have the right to a
certain degree of privacy in their life.
The report also mentions various different events that have occurred in the 21st
century in which a device which stores huge amounts of personal date regarding
members of the public, sometimes even children, has been lost or stolen. The main
reasoning behind the government proposals is war against terrorism and the idea
that if you have everyone s personal information and whereabouts it will be far
easier to prevent a terrorist attack or catch the perpetrator. However, there is a huge
opposition to these said proposals.
The report puts forward some questions about how mass surveillance is affecting our
country, and where to draw the line when it comes to watching our population. The
main aim of this article is to shed the light on how far the government is taking
public surveillance so that people can know exactly how private their lives are, and
make a
Empowerment Of Women In The Bean Trees
During the late 1970 s in the United States, women were advocating against an
engrained system of male superiority and inequality. Expected to be housewives who
depended on their husbands, thousands of women came together and organized
marches and protests that brought awareness to the abuse and misogyny that
women were subjected to. Taylor Greer, Lou Anne, and Mattie are all examples of
this new generation of self reliant and empowered women who break boundaries and
stereotypes. Taylor s strong confidence, Lou Anne s relationship with Taylor and
ability to help her raise their kids, and business owner Mattie s independence and

Descriptive Essay On Car
It was a late night and I was bored, so I decided to go for a drive. I did not know that
this boredness could lead to something so bad. I jumped into my car, realized it

the unknown road. The road was newly paved and was lit up by a fancy light post.

maybe I will go home, but I decidedto keep going. This new road had no lights, but

I went to the front to unlock it and it was not opening either. I finally came to the

So, now I had to enter the house as there was no way i would be able to survive
without a jacket in this weather. I slowly approach the old white house. It looked
like it had been built a couple million years ago and was in the center of a war. As I
began to get closer,I realized the door had been kicked in and that this place might
have someone else in it. I made my first onto the stairs to get on the porch. The old
wood flexed as I stepped on it. On my second step my hands started to sweat. I
became nervous and scared that this night or for however long I would be here,
would not just be a walk in the park.
The porch was in relatively good condition but I had to get inside soon, frostbite
would be fast approaching. I knew that the house would not be warm like my
current house because it was not heated and had many broken windows were cold
air could get in. I then entered the house. Everytime I took a step, I made sure it
was safe because i did not know how safe this would be. I explored the whole
bottom stairs and only noticed one thing out of the ordinary. The oven smelled like
fresh cookies and was
warmer than everything else around it. I thought this is weird but did not think
anything else about it.
Then it was time to go upstairs. The third stair was not in the best condition
President Andrew Jackson And The Indian Removal Act Of
1830
After the southern state stated that they wanted both political and military action on
removing Native American Indians off the southern states, President Andrew
Jackson signed the Indian removal act of 1830. They were forced to move and
concede to U.S. law or leave their homelands, which led to the Trail of Tears. When
the Indians left their homeland, they suffered a long and painful journey that they
had to endure in order to be able to reach their new home in the west which is now
known as, Oklahoma. This was caused by Land hungry americans in the 19th
century that poured into the coastal south and began moving towards the
Mississippi river and Alabama. The Indian Removal act of 1830 authorized
President Jackson to carry out the policy in his first message to congress. He would
be able to trade unorganized public land in the trans Mississippi west for indian land
in the east. The law required the government to negotiate removal treaties fairly and
peacefully: It did not allow the president or anyone else to coerce Native nations into
giving up their land. However, President Jackson and his government most commonly
ignored the letter of the law and forced Native Americans to vacate lands they had
lived on for generations. As white settlers continued to settle North America and push
west there were numerous conflicts with native american tribes. Andrew Jackson s
policy, the indian removal act, intensified this conflict. When jackson ignored the

Play Doh Essay
Clay is a certain type of ground, created by weathered and deposited rocks. When
sent to sell, minerals and other problematic things are removed. On the other hand,
sand may be added perfect it. Clay used to create art is called modeling clay.
Modeling clay may be used for pottery or just plain sculpting. To continue, there are
actually many types of claythan just regular. Types of clay include polymer, air dry,
oil based, water based, and ceramicclays. In my experiment I will be using Play Doh
and air dry clay. Many characteristics contribute to the creation and structure of Play
Doh. These main ingredients include water and salt. The salt dissolves most of the
water in clay, so it doesn t make the clay too spongy. This modeling dough is
composed of water, starch based binder, salt, lubricant, surfactant, preservative,
hardener, humectant, fragrance, food coloring, and wheat. Water, starch based binder,
and salt create the clay itself. The rest of the ingredients help the mixture, adding
specific characteristics. Lubricant, preservative, and humectant helps make the dough
stay fresh. Hardener obviously allows the clay to stay solid without getting slushy
again. Fragrance and food coloring adds to the clay itself, making it... Show more

In fact, as clay begins to dry the piece will shrink because of the water evaporating.
The particles inside will compact together as it hardens. If the drying is considered
uneven , for example one part dries faster than the other, the clay might crack. If
one clay s particle sizes are smaller than another s, it will shrink more. This is because
all the small particles are now far apart so they have to cover more space in order to
make up for all the missing spots. However, large particles can cover spaces easily
since they have less open areas to cover. To conclude, both clays may be similar yet
can take different amounts of time to harden due to their

.1.8.1.1.3. Stress strain curves for normal and lightweight concrete for the design of
cross sections in Euro code:
From the design concrete curve, it can be defined by multiplying the compressive
strength with a coefficient factor Пѓcc and dividing the strength by a material safety
factor of Оіc = 1.5. The coefficient Пѓcc is the effect of long term behavior on the
compressive strength. It is, however, arguable that the reason for the using this factor
is more related to the idealization of the shape of the stress strain curve as used for
flexure than the nature of loading. Пѓcc is 0.85 of cylinder compressive strength and
0.67 for cube compressive strength. For the design of cross sections, the following
stress strain relationship may be used figure (2.12), table (2.5) and Eq. (2.2), Eq.

  • 4. Funeral Decedent Essay If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation of their loved one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the funeral home s website for guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization and a brief ceremony would be scheduled during visitation or service hours, the information would be published in a newspaper obituary or added to an online obituary for those wanting to attend. If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a non sectarian funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral director must be advised during arrangements. The family must provide the DD 214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the branch the decedent belonged to and could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket during services. It becomes the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation of the various fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization funeral rite, including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure everything goes according to plan. During a fraternal funeral ceremony, the organization is able to provide full military honors, which might include either a 21 person funeral detail, or 21 one gun ... Afirmaciones-Spanish Essay ###appears to be rough draft of essay 384065 Spanish###ВїCabe hacer alguna distinciГіn entre las afirmaciones de conocimiento basadas en las observaciones realizadas directamente con los sentidos y las basadas en las observaciones asistidas por medios tecnolГіgicos?

  • 8. Stop School Shootings School shootings have become a major problem not only in South Carolina, but in the United States. School shootings have shockingly become more likely now than ever. A recent report showed that over 230 school shootings have arose since 2013, meaning that there has been at least 1 school shooting per week for the last 4 years. Once students experience these traumatic happenings, the district as a whole receives lower standardized test scores, lessened student enrollment and even frightened parents. Parents begin to lose faith in the school system and no longer find comfort in sending their child to and from that school. By definition, school shootings are anytime a firearm discharges a live round inside a school building or on a school campus or school grounds. This connection question s objective to read about a specific school shooting, it stood out to me that every child has a motive for the school shooting whether big or small. Therefore, I have conducted research to find out why and how to stop school violence. In my opinion, teachers most certainly should be able to identify and designate those who appear to carry out school shootings. Being a teacher puts you in a front row seat to critique and evaluate signs that may not be shown to parents. Teachers should be able to identify children who seem hopeless, distracted, or are even victims of bullying to get them the necessary help that they deserve. I also feel as though being at school brings out a different side

They count down the last few days until the bell rings on that last day and they are out for summer break. They get so excited to be able to go on vacations, spend more time reading, visiting family, and of course, sleeping in. Children also look forward to going back to school after summer break. They are so excited for the first day of class that they have to get all new school supplies. They wake up extra early and are ready to learn on that first day. If school was all year round, I believe students would never look forward to school and would affect their learning. Therefore, in my opinion, I do not believe school should be year round. Why Year Round School Is More Harm Than Good Year round schooling is a topic that is emerging widely throughout the United States in this day and time. It is said that it is suppose to better the school systems and help students with their schoolwork. However, I think year round schooling could do more harm than good to students, families, as well as teachers. A few ways that it could be more harm than good are that the school would have to spend more money to keep the school running, not enough vacation time, and conflicts with the teachers and administrators. With year round school, the budget will go up with the cost to provide food, utilities, and other things that are provided for the students. In order for the school to stay up and
  • 12. Sex, Lies, And Conversation, By Deborah Tannen The methods in which men and women communicate are eminently different. This being so, their external state is an indicator of their inner state, but men and women have different external states to express themselves. This is especially evident among children and individuals in relationships, and altered between a couple who tries to adjust their behavior. Deborah Tannen, the author of Sex, Lies, and Conversation, argues that boys are girls are taught to have a differ inner state, that males and females usually have the same inner state but express them differently when communicating, and that individuals in romantic relationships can alter the way they present their outer state to represent their inner state in a way their partner can relate to. Tannen has unmistakably given a considerable amount of thought about the way children are taught and observe communication. Tannen holds that maleand femalechildren are taught to communicate differently as they grow older, which can cause communication problems later in their lives. Children are unquestionably impressionable and girls in particular are taught how and expected to be particularly nurturing and concerned about the state of others. Boys are taught to be tough and strong, and this is where the disconnect occurs. Girls are taught to have an inner state of warmth and concern, and boys are taught to have an inner state that outwardly appears to be somewhat standoffish and disconnected. A child s actions may gain
  • 13. Steps Of The Plan Do Check Act ( Pdca ) Cycle PDCA Outline Plan The first step of the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) cycle is plan. The planning step of the cycle is extremely important and crucial to the success of the project. I undertook this exact issue as a process improvement project early on in my career and already went through the exercise of analyzing the account activity and assigning a risk score to each and every balance sheet account. At the time, there were 854 individual balance sheet accounts that needed reconciled. Currently this count has grown to 1,047, which means that an additional 193 accounts would need analyzed. The plan for this project now needs to consist of cursory review of the previously assigned accounts and a more in depth analysis of the additional 193 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no reason to waste resources reconciling an account that is no longer being used. The next step of 5S that is beneficial to the process is straightening. The accounts should be straightened into broader categories, rather than looking that them individually, which saves time and is more efficient. For instance, all cash accounts should be grouped and analyzed together, as they will be handled the same. The work is not done when the sorting and straightening has been completed, nonetheless. The newly sorted and straightened list should continue to be shined, another step of 5S, on a routine basis to make sure there are no changes. As previously mentioned, the controller reserves the right to adjust the reconciliation priority at any time. New accounts are likely to be created that will need sorted and straightened and other accounts will also go inactive. 5S is an ongoing process and the sustainability is one of the S s. The final S stands for standardize. The account reconciliation process should be standardized. Standardization and uniformity in the reconciliation process and the reconciliation work papers add to the quality of the review. It is much easier for a reviewer or auditor to check reconciliations that are prepared in a consistent fashion. Do The Do step of the PDCA cycle is where the action of the project really happens. The new reconciliation schedule is implemented during this stage. As previously mentioned some accounts will continue to be
  • 14. Christian Tradition And Its Effect On Violence Essay In the Christian Tradition, there are instances in which the use of violence is justifiable. Before 313 A.D, Christians have followed the traditional pacifist view to not support the use of violence and the state s use of war, even if the use of war is to reject tyranny, solve conflict, and advance peace. However, Christian s attitudes toward violence and war began to change when Constantine issued the Edict of Milan in 313 A.D. With this change in attitude, the Christian just wartheory developed after Rome was invaded by the Visigoths in 410 A.D. The first instance when the use of violence was justifiable was examined in the New Testament. The New Testament contradicted the chapter of Luke about the Sermon on the plain and beatitudes, which argued that Christians are not justified in using the tool of war to promote peace. If you are hated your response should be to love and embrace the violent doer and allow the enemy to impose violence onto you. In contrast, the New Testament embraced the use of the sword, as Jesus did when he commanded the disciples to buy swords and drive the money changers out of the temple with a sword. It fell in 1849 to the Chinese communist party (CCP) led by Mao Zedong. The early 1800s of the Qing era saw the development of Remittance Banks which allowed a merchant to exchange metallic currency for a remittance certificate, in which he could collect his money elsewhere; these banks became vital to the progression of commercial activity in China. Under the successful but unpopular Qing regime, new crops were established and sweet potato, maize and peanuts became introduced into the Chinese diet. During the reign of the Yongzheng emperor, the Qing Government also introduced a new tax policy that only allowed the payment of taxes through money (copper or silver, for larger transactions) rather than the previous goods and wares tax that allowed the Chinese to pay taxes in things like agricultural produce. The new amount of tax payed by civilians was almost entirely dependent upon the amount of land a person

Shylock is a money lender in the city of Venice during the sixteenth century. Shylock also wants revenge upon Antonia for his crimes against him such as rediculing him for his use of usage. When Antonio visits to finalize the loan with Shylock, instead of a normal collateral for a failed return of the money, Shylock requests An equal pound of your fair flesh, to be cut off and taken in what part of your body pleaseth me (1.3.161 163). Famous Violinist Argument In this paper, I will argue how Judith Thomson s Famous Violinist counterexample is a counterargument to the conclusion that, morally speaking, a fetus may never be aborted. First, I will explain the targeted argument that Thomson is challenging. Next, I will present her counterexample, the Famous Violinist case. Then, I will describe Thomson s argumentfunction as a counterargument. In my evaluation, I will defend how the famous Violinist case is a successful counterexample by proposing an objection to this counterargument and give an explanation to defend Thomson s counterexample. Assuming that the Thomson s case is a large analogy, one can argue that a fetus and the mother have a biological connection together, while the violinist and the abducted person are artificially connected. Therefore, there is a major difference between the two. However, this relationship is not a sound argument to provide relevance to the moral permissibility. Moreover, one can argue the analogy used in this case is not an argument. The counterexample does not use the analogy to make the whole argument. If the analogy is not included in the counterexample, the counterexample will still be just as effective because violinist in her counterexample can be replaced with a fetus. This word swap will retain the same idea. The moral standing of this case provide sufficient proof that this counterargument was successful at disproving the target argument premise

They re spectacular tales, they proposed phrases that we still use today, and they re a huge part of our culture. All of Shakespeare s plays are full of so many well written quotes that can be expanded on in so many ways. One of these plays is The Merchant of Venice, despite being filled with tons of wonderful quotes there s one in particular that caught my eye. In one of the scenes there s the character Jessica who s dressed up as a boy. She is embarrassed by her apparel but she says But love is blind, and lovers cannot see The pretty follies themselves commit. This quote represents that she is confident that her lover Lorenzo still loves her despite of her appearance. In this scene Jessica has also just stole money and jewelry from her father Shylock. The thievery and the fact she s dressed up as a boy may refer to The pretty follies she mentions. Love is blind is a phrase that is still frequently used today, it is a wonderful example of a metaphor and personification. Although the exact birth of Cyrus is unknown to us, historians have been able to narrow it down to some here between 600 and 580 BCE . Cyrus is renowned for being one of the greatest historical conquerors who in his lifetime conquered everywhere from Lydia and Babylonia to the Greek cities of Asia Minor . However in many historical ancient texts, such as the works of Xenophanes and a number of sacred Jewish texts, Cyrus is often described as a liberator as apposed to a conqueror . Cyrus was very tolerant ruler and accepting of all local religious faiths, because of this he expected his subjects to do the same. Cyrus the Greathas remained throughout history as one of the most tolerant and politically influential leaders from ancient civilisation, after establishing the first human rights charter containing values still relevant today. Odysseus also had to face Scylla and Charybdis, which can eat six men at once, and can suck down their ship with a whirlpool. There will be a primary focus on his notion of incremental growth , argument by analogy , and the necessity of policy considerations , with particular regard taken towards the mixture of policy considerations, in an effort to determine whether some areas, such as social costs, are weighed more heavily than others. Furthermore, the Ann s test similarly reflects this notion of limiting potential claims by specifying a sufficient relationship of proximity based upon foreseeability between claimants and taking considerations on policies which could negate a duty of care. This explicit acknowledgement of policy considerations illustrates how the courts are keen to prevent the floodgates opening, as a large volume of new claims could swamp the court s resources. However, in particular to the Anns test, the incremental growth of law and the implementation of the Caparo test didn t emerge from a lack of policy consideration, but rather from no recognition of previous policy, as it was not necessary to bring the facts of that situation within those of previous situation where a duty of care had been held to exist within the Anns test. This draws parallels with Lord Toulson s idea of an argument by analogy for extending liability . The fact that there was no homage paid to previous case law in determining a duty of care may contribute to the necessity of implementing the 3 stage Caparo test , as it is necessary for courts to be consistent in their rulings so that people know where they stand under the law. This notion is supported by the
  • 27. Analysis Of Aura Aura by Carlos Fuentes explores the ideas of fantasy and imagination against the backdrop of Mexico City in the 1960s, coinciding with the Latin American Boom. This was a time of literary experimentation as the Latin American novel gained increasing popularity amongst wider audiences. As such, Fuentes uses Aurato redefine narrative norms by incorporating genuine historical events into fantastical situations and through the use of symbolism to heighten the feelings of the uncanny and the unknown which linger throughout the novel. Fuentes spent much of his own childhood in other countries, imagining his native country rather than experiencing it for himself. On his return to Mexico, he faced a reality much different to what he had expected from his dreams and preconceptions. At the time, the country was in the midst of El Milagro Mexicano , in which Mexico was going through a significant period of economic growth and social reforms. As a result, much of the population chose to move to the now industrialised cities in place of rural towns. This historical evidence is evident from the outset of Aura, as even though the population was growing in modern Mexican cities, this also created a feeling of isolation and a loss of community amongst the large crowds. By way of illustration, Fuentes descriptions of Mexico City are generally basic and lacking in any expressive or idiomatic language. The protagonist, Felipe Montero, does not pay any particular attention to the details of

It is obvious that while the older carpenter has married a young lusty woman who is full of life, it could be a difficult situation for him depending upon how other men are viewing his new wife. On the one hand, people will see her as a lovely innocent woman, while on the other hand, because she is too picture perfect and overly concerned about her appearance, she may (with her wanton eye) be giving people the idea that is interested in more than the

  • 37. Role Of Fatma Begum Bengal could show the way to lessen gender imbalance in Indian film industry One might not have heard the name of Fatma Begum. Indeed, she isn t quite the household name. But her achievement as the very first Indian woman to ever single handedly direct a movie is engraved in stone, and will always be. The year was 1926, at a time when world cinema was still experimenting with the science and technology of motion pictures. Indian cinema had already taken long strides by then, but produced only acting roles for women. Yet, breaking the mould, Fatma Begum established her own production company Fatma Films and went on to direct Bulbule Paristan! Perhaps without even realising the effect of her achievement, Fatma laid the foundation stone for a generation of women, who sought to be employed by the burgeoning film industry in a role other than that of an actress. The Southern film industry encompassing three major languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada did not see its own female driven films until the 1960s, when Savitri Ganesan the spouse of the iconic Gemini Ganesan directed Chinnari Papalu. When one reads about it, it seems like a rosy story. But women had to make unimaginable strides and struggles to even tread on the path that was paved by Fatma Begum forty years earlier. However the negative to the Olympic structure, is that not all the teams and countries participating are treated equally. This is most likely because they are a smaller country and a poorer country which means they do not have the same amount of money as bigger countries have to help improve their athletes and improve their facilities. This means that the medal table will keep looking similar each year as the bigger countries with the most money, will usually have more medals as their athletes are better trained and better prepared. Descriptive Statistics The spatiotemporal pattern of water quality in the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek watersheds exhibits a trend of river deterioration, mainly due to Fecal Coliform. Our study suggests that most of the pollution sources were related to human activities. Looking at table 2a to 5b, it is clear that, F.Col, coliform is the dominant parameter with the highest means in all the sites, both at the Reedy Fork and Buffalo Creek watersheds. However, there are higher mean values of this nutrient in the Buffalo Creek watershed than the Reedy Fork creek watershed. This is clearly visible by looking at the variation in mean variable concentrations for the individual sites through the years under study from the graphs. In comparison to the States Standards in table 10, Fecal Coliform for sites 7, 8, 9, 12, 17, and 18, all in the urbanize Buffalo Creek watershed have mean values of 1613.95, 1189.52, 2447.38, 3167.71, 1410.86, 1178.30 CFU/100ml respectively which are within the states watch zone for the 1999 to 2002 parameters. The Impact Of A Current Manmade Disaster No two disasters are exactly alike; no matter if it is by natural causes (hurricane or earthquake) or a manmade disaster (9/11 or the London subway/bus bombings). The main discussion will focus on the comparison of the psychological impact of a current manmade disaster, commonly referred to as 9/11, to that of another manmade early 1900 s disaster which involved a British ship called the Lusitania. There will be a discussion of similarities and differences of people who directly experienced the tragedy, the high death toll, and how the event drew the United States into war. The Lusitania was attacked and sunk as it sailed to Ireland by a German U 20 boat. The Germans claimed the ship was carrying large amounts of war materials into what the Germans had designated a war zone (Crutchley, 2015). • 43. Project Life Cycle Is The Only Thing That Uniquely Defined... 2.1 General The life cycle is the only thing that uniquely distinguishes projects from non projects . If that is true, then it would be valuable to examine just what role the so called Project life cycle plays in the conduct of project management. The basic life cycle follows a common generic sequence: Opportunity, Design Development, Production, Hand over, and Post Project Evaluation. A project can be defined as the work required Taking an opportunity and converting it into an asset. In this sense, both the opportunity And asset are singular, with the implied use being for generating benefit rather than Consumed as a resource in normal operational activity over a prolonged period. (Kerzner, 1995). 2.2 Construction Project Life Cycle According to Lawrence, (2003) a project has been defined as having a beginning and an end (the life) and the project can be divided up into several stages. The project then is said to have a life cycle. The cycle does not usually repeat. For a construction project, there are several standard stages for the holistic picture and with looking at. The client is involved in all of these stages and outside Appointments may only be made for some of client, depending upon client choice and Expertise. The diagram indicates the main phases of a construction project and the order in which they come. The design and tender stages are included within the pre construction box under this model. The coefficient Пѓcc is the effect of long term behavior on the compressive strength. It is, however, arguable that the reason for the using this factor is more related to the idealization of the shape of the stress strain curve as used for flexure than the nature of loading. Пѓcc is 0.85 of cylinder compressive strength and 0.67 for cube compressive strength.
