2. The War Of The Holy Roman Empire
The Thirty Years War initiated when Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II of Bohemia
tried to restrain the religious activities of his subjects, triggering a rebellion among
Protestants. The war included the major powers of Europe, with Sweden, France,
Spain, and Austria all conducting campaigns mainly on German soil. The war was
partially known for the slaughters committed by mercenary soldiers, the war ended
with a series of contracts that made up the Peace of Westphalia. The outcome
restructured the religious and political map of central Europe, setting the stage for
the old national Roman Catholic empire to yield to a community of self governing
states. For the occurrence of the war, the developing catastrophe of the Holy Roman
Empirewas of vital significance. The crisis had a legitimate and governmental as
well as a religious component. The emperor s privileges had never been evidently
described. A ruler who knew how to misuse his significant informal powers of
benefaction could possess a major deal of authority, but a corruptible monarch
could effortlessly be diminished to a simple figurehead. This was definitively
Rudolf II s fate throughout the final decade of his reign. The aging emperor, who
was rationally unstable, was doubted by both Catholics and Protestants. Besides, he
had managed to alienate his own family. The power void produced by the failure of
his authority allowed determined princes such as Maximilian I, the duke of Bavaria,
or Frederick V, the elector of
3. Essay on The Tradition of the Chivo Mask
The Chivo mask is from Mexico, typically found in the state of Guerrero. The mask
was first created and used in the village, Zitlala, after the Mexican Revolution. It is
used for the ritual dance called La Danza de los Chivos or Dance of the Goats.
However, the dance is now used in many other celebrations and festivities throughout
other areas of Mexico, as well. The mask is part of the ceremony known as the Dance
of the Goats or La Danza de los Chivos. The mask on masksoftheworld.com is from
Chilpancingo, State of Guerrero, Mexico. However, the traditional Dance of the
Goats began in Zitlala, State of Guerrero, Mexico. The villagers created the dance
after the Mexican Revolution in 1910. After the war, an epidemic took place... Show

In the ceremony, the dancers line up in two lines dancing while portraying goats.
The dancers wear outfits made of white silk thread with normal tennis shoes and
socks. The mask, of course, is the most important aspect of the attire. Mask makers
typically decorate the masks with horns, a head dress, or both. They also usually
paint them in bright colors, such as the one found on masksoftheworld.com. In
some areas, the masks also have colored ribbon at the tips of the horns and hair
made of sisal or raffia thread. The dancers are primarily male, though there are some
areas that have female dancers, as well. This is the case in Quechultenango,
Guerrero, Mexico. Groups of both male and female dancers complete the dance. In
the same area, they dance in normal, everyday attire and only wear masks they
decorated to resemble the goat.
Although the dance originated in Zitlala, dancers perform it today in many regions
for many different celebrations and festivities. One of these include Dia de San Juan
Bautista or Day of Saint Juan. In fact, they perform this and similar dances during
celebrations of all the Saints. A parade usually marks the beginning of the festivity.
Cars and floats move along the streets. These floats normally all demonstrate some
aspect of Mexican culture, such as music. Then, the dancing begins. There is also a
firework show. These festivities usually last through the night. The dance is

I wanted to touch base with all the participating technical member of the Bush
Annenberg / Connect2Texas events. Yesterday (November 9th, 2016) event had
several issues according to TTVN Operations and emails from Shirley and Lori. I
am going to do my best to discuss all the different issue and the root causes of these
issues. To address Johnny Carline concern about losing the last few questions, the
program went over the scheduled end time of 11:30am, causing the connection
drop. Mike from Annenberg called TTVN Operations and asked about why the call
ended to which I explained the above. My suggestion is to add 30 minutes extra to
the end of every request. Shirley, if you would like to do this for all the events left
this fall please let me know and I will do my best to add it in where resources are

The production staff needs to white balance their camera to bring the color range
back into the correct perspective. This has been an ongoing struggle through the
years. (My understanding is the production crew is an outsourced group not
affiliated with Annenberg). Currently, we connect to Annenberg via 2 Fiber
Strands and an SD codec. The video image that Connect2Texas is receiving is an
SD feed. There are plans in place to upgrade to an HD Codec located at Annenberg.
We have been aware that this is a concern and are working to address the issue with
the Annenberg staff. I truly believe that once the new equipment at Annenberg the
quality will improve. The image quality also seems to go down once all the schools
connect to Connect2Texas. This could be a bandwidth issue between the schools and
Connect2Texas. TTVN has tested several times with Connect2Texas a proven that
the connection between the 2 bridges is solid. Due to the large volume of schools
connecting to Connect2Texas, we will still potently see some loss in quality
5. Legal Issues Always Be A Problem
Legal issues always seem to be a problem when it comes to dealing with the
government and its investments. Trusting the government to do the right thing with
the tax payers money is a viable concern for all of the citizens of the United States
of America. To garner that trust the government began pushing for ways to lower
every day energy cost, such as the use of solar energy. The Solyndra issue is just one
example of the incompetence and strong arm attempts that the government imposes
which typically lead to legal ramifications. Furthermore, in the case of Solyndra, it
was not a democrat or a republican issue. This issue lied in the hands of both political
parties. Considering the importance that the government placed on green energy and

Solyndra is a company that was founded by Christian Gronet in 2005 which
specialized in the creation of solar panels to help minimize the overall energy cost of
the United States. It was founded on the perception that lightweight, high efficiency
thin film solar panels in a unique tubular design could compete with other
companies that use silicon based flat panels. Solyndra was able to win over the
likes of some of the most powerful people in the United States such as the Walton
Family and George Kaiser. Considering the political backing the company was able
to attain and the direction in which the country was heading when it came to
conserving energy, Solyndra seemed like a poster child (of sorts) for the United
States government. Furthermore, Solyndra was also supposed to be used as one of
President Obama s good news stories when it came to his plan to create more jobs
in the United States. According to Antle (2012), Solyndra received a $573 million
loan guarantee from the federal government. It was considered the first major public
investment of its type in alternative energy by the Obama administration (Antle,
2012). Unfortunately, Solyndra went bankrupt in September 2011 and laid off all of
its employee s, setting the stage for a legal showdown of epic proportions.
Days after Solyndra filed for bankruptcy the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided
the headquarters of Solyndra and the homes of many of its senior executives.
6. Mccarthyism In The Red Scare
The Red Scare is referred to as America s fear of communism. Taking a second to
look back on History, American suspicion of communism first began in the 1920 s
during World War One. Thirty years later, the paranoia over communism was stirred
up by the influences of war against the Soviet Union, Un American Activities
committee and McCarthyism. This changed America s perception of society and
politics. Communism is a social, economical and political ideology that the people
are to be equal which meant no social classes. It also meant that the people would
own everything, and receive the same quality and quantity of possessions (Sentinel).
Communists living in the United Stateswere awarded the epithet Reds due to their
association with the red Soviet flag. The color red also symbolizes bloodshed and the
struggle for political change. So, applying those who were perceived as a threat with
the scare that was brought upon America, developed the name, the Red Scare. Most
Americans feared communism because if this system advanced through the U.S, it
would be a menace to the country s democratic values. This lead to the government,
and those who called themselves anti communists to besiege any communist threats
that aimed to overthrow both democratic and capitalist institutions. Since the Soviet
Unionoccupied most of Eastern and Central Europe, it was believed that the nation
would continue to spread its belief in communism. Following close to the end of the

7. Nervous Systems And The Nervous System
Nervous System The human body is one of the most complex structures known to
mankind. To this day, we still do not have all the answers to how our body functions.
One of the most complex structures in the human body is the nervous system, which
controls the voluntary and involuntary actions, as well as send signals throughout the
body. The nervous systemis split up into two parts; the peripheral (PNS) and central
(CNS) nervous systems. The central nervous system consists of two main parts; the
brainand spinal cord. The brain receives and processes information as well as deal
with memories, thoughts, emotion, and much more. The spinal cord mainly deals
with sending out signals from the brain to the rest of the body, as well as control...

During this time our muscles change and blood vessels dilate or constrict without us
consciously telling them to do so. This is an involuntary function from autonomic
system. On the other hand, while we rest, we have this system controlling our resting
and digestion state. Again, these are involuntary actions that go on all the time
without us knowing or giving any thought to. Some of the important muscles the
autonomic system deals with are muscles in the stomach and intestine, muscles in the
eye, cardiac muscles, smooth muscle around the blood vessels, and more. Not only
does the ANS deal with muscles, but it also plays a key role in regulation of the
glands. The ANS is divided into three different parts; the sympathetic nervous system,
the parasympathetic nervous system, and the enteric nervous system. The sympathetic
nervous system is the part that is related to the fight or flight as discussed earlier. The
sympathetic nervous system operates through neurons that originate in the spinal
cord. Some of the main functions the sympathetic system deals with are; increasing
heart rate, pupil dilation, secretion of epinephrine and norepinephrine, mucus and
saliva production, bronchial dilation, and much more. The parasympathetic system is
the part that is related to the rest and digest situations. This system deals with
conserving energy as well as dealing with digestion. In this system, there

After some idle conversation and a cordial goodbye, we watched Graham drive

decorating our sensational new space. Vince s thoughts were about pulling the
money together. Once we were safely on the E45 pointed in the right direction to
Orvieto, Vince spoke first. I m going to ask Johannes if we can see the apartment
again before we fly homeso I can to take room and window measurements. Honey,
what a great idea, oh, I can t wait to decorate, I said with great enthusiasm. I know
that I won t be able to sleep tonight. I just love the kitchen. I can t believe that we

must open a bank account in Marsciano, Vince replied, without reacting to my
comment. I hope that Johannes can help us with that. I think that we have to give
him a deposit tomorrow. The first thing I am going to do I continued with
comments about what was important to me, is get rid of all those old lady curtains
Ann has having in every widow. I don t want any curtains anywhere, I want to keep
the space light and airy. Nonetheless, we will need some kind of window covering
on the terrazzo door to shield us from the sun in the summer. I bet it gets hot in that

organisation s mission. An organisation s mission can be expressed in a mission

company apart from others. It expresses the underlying philosophy that gives
meaning and direction to hotel policies. Hotel employees may derive a sense of

Although procedures may differ from hotel to hotel with regard to reservations
handling, maintenance, processing, and confirmation, the purpose is still the same:
to accommodate guest requests in a manner that maximises hotel occupancy and
room revenue. Computers can be programmed to provide reservations agents with
information on the types of rooms available (including room rate, view, furnishings,
amenities, and bed size) for a given day. Some computer systems can even provide
agents with the exact room number if necessary. Computers can provide reservations
agents with a great deal of information on the hotel, some of which should be
provided to the guest on request. Computers have helped transform reservations
agents into true salespeople. Reservations agents should convey the desirability,
features, and benefits of staying at the hotel, rather than simply processing an
accommodation request. It is no longer satisfactory for a reservations agent to defer
to the front desk to determine a room s rate at registration. Reservations agents should
confirm the rate over the telephone at the time the guest makes the reservation. In
fact, most guests requesting a reservation will not book a room without receiving a
confirmed rate. The agent should reinforce the guest s decision to stay at the property
and thank the guest for his or her business. It is essential for reservations
10. Changing Role of the Artist from Different Times
Art is contemporarily defined as the product or process of deliberately arranging
symbolic elements in a way that influences and affects the senses, emotions, and/or
intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of
expression.
The renaissance is the rebirth of classicism; classicism comes from the ancient Greece
and Rome; they portray art to captivate perfection, harmony and order.
Italian High Renaissance artists achieved ideal of harmony and balance comparable

was Michelangelo s most celebrated work. Panels portraying key stories from
Genesis are surrounded by a framework with additional scenes and figured for a 4

through a profound reverence for the classical Antiquity.
A modern art was nationally acclaimed and recognized. Modern Artists were
perceived as an Avant Guarde that challenged the main stream, traditional art. It was
focused on the artist brain. Modernism reflecting the industrial revolution; was the
era of mass production and consumption.
One development evident in the modern era, spurred by technological growth in this
century, has augmented the artist role in society; the commercialization of art
through the expansion of entertainment, communications, and indoctrination media.
In this modern time period society did not establish the role of artist, the artist
decided for themselves what role they would play in their art. Andy Warhol
disrupted the common views of the role each artist should play in their art. Andy

Wednesday 18 February 2015, Sacred Heart College s Year 12 biology class took a
field trip to Siren s Rock , located between Island Bay and Owhiro Bay on
Wellington s South Coast. The pattern which was being investigated across the
rocky shore was zonation. Zonation is a community pattern that occurs along an

changing the distribution of species which results in species being present in

affects the zonation pattern on the shore of, the two species Cellana denticulata;

and is the most commonly found on Siren s Rock. Denticulate limpets have a cone

therefore increase cooling for the organism. It grips to rocks with its fleshy,
muscular foot, and also grinds the edge of their shell into the rock so they fit
perfectly together. In order to avoid dessication, the limpets pull down their shell
and clamp over a pocket of water while still submerged so they can retain the water
during low tide. C. denticulata are also homing limpets; this means that they have a

what I would do if I were a teen activist. So keep reading and enjoy! What is teen
activism? Now you re probably wondering, what is teen activism anyway? Well,
teen activism is when young people express themselves in order to make a change
for the better. For example, think of Malala Yousafzai. Since I will be writing
about her next, I won t go into full on detail mode. Anywho, she started a fund
called the Malala Fund to help kids, but especially girls to be able to have an
education. Now that you know what teen activism is, let s look at some teen

17. Gender Influence Of Gender In Modern Horror Films
Modern horror films are analogous to male filled teenage parties otherwise known
as sausage fests. In more analytical terms, the modern horror film overflows with
symbols that represent the human male penis. While a penis may seem like a
scatological device to include in films, the phallus actually reveals key traits about
the characters. Specifically, in Halloween, American Horror Story, Psycho, and The
Texas Chain Saw Massacre, phallic shaped weapons help identify the females
transition to a more masculine genderrole. Before analyzing how phallic weapons
reveal a character s gender in horror films, the importance of gender in the modern
horror film must be established. In this analysis, gender reflects on the level of
masculinity a character possesses. Gender transition refers to a character changing
between femininity and masculinity as well as breaking gender roles. The
significance of gender can be broken down into many pieces. First, gender roles
elaborate how males and females operate stereotypically within society. Films
mainly dictate gender roles via behavior. That behavior includes behavior towards
each gender and the amount of physical and emotional dominance. Second, the
teenage audience of modern horror films lies in a delicate, sexual developmental
period, so gender is significant in the modern horror film. This is largely due to the
fact that gender is vital to the emerging teenage identity. Third, along with sexual
discovery, sexual desires fill the

I ve always wondered if Guy Montag, the main character of Fahrenheit 451, was
actually the hero or just the bad guy in the story. Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451 is
a story about a man named Guy Montag who in the beginning of the book was seen
as the bad guy, but later on changes after meeting a girl named Clarisse who
changes his views of things. In the world that Guy lives in, books are against the
law and once you break that law firemen would come and burn your books along
with the house. In this essay, I am going to explain why Guy Montagis Shown as a
bad and good person and whether I consider him a hero or not. In the beginning of
the book, Guy is shown to be the antagonist, because he was working as a fireman.
You may think why would someone working as a fireman be bad . Well in this
story firemen don t stop fires, but instead, they do the opposite. A fireman s duty is
to burn down the books and the house the book came from. At this point of the
book, Guy enjoyed spraying the kerosene, and watching the bright red flames, he
didn t mind walking into his house listening to Mildred, his wife talking to her
family on the tv wall. To me, Guy is the type of antagonist that does whatever he is
told without thinking, basically like a controlled bad guy. He doesn t really know
what his purpose is in life. Guy thinks that being a fireman is an honor and that he is
saving those who have ruined their minds with the gibberish you call a
book.Everything changed once Guy met

21. Masculinity In The Terminator
What defines masculinity is the traits and values that are considered to characterise
the male gender at any given time. Consequently, the definition of masculinity
keeps changing as people change their views of what characteristics a man should
require. The biggest influence of the definition of masculinity is media. It is where
we receive information about what is normal and cool . Films and television shows
have a huge impact on how we view the world and they can alter our opinions on
different topics. On that basis, Film and television play a big role in how we define
masculinity.
In this essay I will look at how gender is constructed in The Terminator and how
cultural aspects influence the film.
During the late 20th century medias association to defining masculinity became more
visible. It was reflecting the current values of masculinity as well as to help shape it
into what it would become in the future.
American values in the 1970 s rapidly changed due to a variety of new political
movements. Two of these had a great deal of impact on the ideals of masculinity. Men
s Liberty Movement and the second wave of feminism helped blur the lines between
masculinity and femininity.
During the 70s various films and TV shows featured strong, intelligent females that

Under Reagans regime men were restored to their traditional role and being
masculine was given emphasise to. During his presidency he continuously apposed
the Equal Rights Amendment, which were one of the actions that led to the new
definition of masculinity in the 80 s. As Reagan was going against the Equal Rights
Amendment he gained a great deal of male supporters that began to identify with the
new president and what he stood for. This led to a radical new view on masculinity
where men were supposed to be hard, trained and

The Continuing Role of the Outside World in Afghanistan
Afghanistan has been considered a land of violence and discontent for much of its
history. The government always seems to be in disorder, and its people never seem
completely happy. Because of this image of being unfit to control its own affairs, the
international community has long been involved in the history of Afghanistan. The
world intervenes in Afghan conflicts and works to keep the country in order.
Sometimes the outside assistance is advantageous to the Afghan people, but at other
times it is unnecessary and only creates more problems. In this paper I will examine

This the Governor General of India, to conclude that Dost Mohammed was anti

A British Indian force entered Afghanistan in spring 1839. Kandahar was taken
without a fight and the powerful fortress of Ghazni was seized. Dost Mohammed
fled from Kabul and Shash Shuja was installed as Emir. However, the British could
not afford to keep troops in Kabul indefinitely, and in 1841 preparations were made
to withdraw them. Meanwhile popular opposition to Shah Shuja grew into an
uprising. British diplomats were murdered and the British force lost its grip on the
area.
In January 1842 the Kabul garrison marched out of the city with the promise that it
would be allowed to retreat to India in safety. Instead it came under immediate attack
as it struggled through the cold, mountainous terrain. Only a few survivors escaped.
A national uprising ensued and the British garrison at Jellalabad was besieged until
they were relieved. The relief then linked up with the Kandahar garrison and marched
back to India via Kabul where they rescued some British hostages. This marked the
end of the war which had been a complete failure. Shah Shuja was murdered and Dost
Mohammed returned to the throne. The British had been defeated by harsh conditions
and strong opposition. The wars including Britain were not yet over, however.

With the business internal control out of control I would recommend to hire an
accountant with extensive internal audit situation with businesses that was in a
similar state. A company executive should be placed as project head to work with the
auditor. This will help to give the auditor a clear understanding of where the company
is and the direction it wants to go. By them working together the executive offers the
business plan of what they want and the auditor offers the expertise and experience in
process to get the company there. The sooner the company hires an internal auditor
the sooner the business internal control system can be turned around.

27. The Rapid Growth of Managed Care Essay
The rapid growth of managed care is the response to limited financial resources
and the demand for healthcare services to be affordable. Economic viability is a
crucial aspect of health care. Managed care plans were developed to provided health
care services, but also to be a method to collect payment for services. There are
different types of managed careplans. For example, health maintenance organization
(HMO), preferred provider organization(PPO), and point of service (POS) plans. For
brevity of this paper the HMO managed care system will be discussed along with the
relevance of the role of the advance practitioner practicing in HMO setting.

Another advantage is HMOs have an authorized formulary that covered the cost of
prescription medications. The down side if a care provider prescribed a medication
that is not authorized then the expense is placed back on to the consumer unless
prior approval is obtained. There are times when a particular medication or specialist
is required and will involve the prescribing person to contact the HMO for
preapproval. Another disadvantage after seeking preapproval the claim may be
denied, but the consumer does have the option to appeal the decision. This does
create a problem when there are time constraints; which is another disadvantage.
What is happening to the premiums? Today s economic times have forced HMOs
to increase premium rates. In the last few years there has been a substantial
increase in premiums. In 1997, an article printed in Business Week reported
although a growing number of consumers are enrolled in a HMO the higher prices
of medical cost has forced HMOs to lay off employees and forced the sell off of
some HMOs. This style of managed care had turned into a commodity business
which is no longer profitable. What did this mean? It meant that HMO are now stuck
competing on prices and battling for market shares.
Consumers were demanding healthcare change because of the rising cost of
premiums. In the markets, rival insurers started to offer nearly identical plans,

This particular opera was quite popular and had a twenty performance run. Some
of his other operas were Rodrigo and Agrippina. While touring Italy with these

London because he wanted to try freelancing. While there, Handel composed the

what gained [Handel] the widespread recognition that he would maintain

Cultures can be misrepresented. Women in various countries tend to have different
values. Some women would fight for independence, such as Disney s Mulan, but
some women would not (Li, 2013). Furthermore, character design can be offensive to
different groups of people. For instance, the Black centaur serving a blonde, White
centaur is offensive to Black people in Disney s Fantasia (George, 2015). Therefore,
part of the reason that children have xenophobia is that media misleads children by
showing different cultural aspects to the children through the host culture s thoughts,
sometimes showing underlying racism. A last possible root of xenophobia in children
is schools. First, classmates may treat each other differently according to what they
learn at home, leading to insults. Teachers may also influence this attitude by not
helping children to understand cultural differences. For instance, when Sherman
Alexie passed out at a dance because of exhaustion, the teacher assumed he had been
drinking because he was Indian (Alexie, 2014). Overall, students might learn the fear
of differences through their peers or teachers in

This study examines how incidents of excessive police violence influence citizen
crime reporting. As our main case study, we examine one of Milwaukee s most
publicized moments of police brutality: the 2004 beating of an unarmed black man,
Frank Jude, by white police officers. Using an interrupted time series design, we
analyze patterns of policerelated 911 calls before and after the Jude beating was
made public in the Milwaukee press. Controlling for several neighborhood
characteristics, along with fixed effects for neighborhoods and months, we find that
residents of Milwaukee s neighborhoods were far less likely to report a crimeafter
Jude s beating was broadcast. Over half of the total loss in 911 calls occurred in
black neighborhoods. Supplemental analyses show that other local and national
cases of police violence against unarmed black men also had an impact on crime
reporting in Milwaukee. The Independent variable would be Jude beating, and as
for the dependent variable will be the 911 calls. The purpose of this study is to
define the relationship between violence and crime reporting in a Milwaukee black
community. This study moves beyond the limitations of previous research by
analyzing the effects of publicizing police violence cases on crime reporting via
911 calls. The evidence for their study does not rely on accounts of past behavior or
projections of future action, but on the complete universe of every crime reported in
Milwaukee over the course of seven years.

won Academy Awards in all the top five categories: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best
Actress, Best Director, and Adapted Screenplay. Some of the people in our ART
105 class might not even want to see this movie due to its realism of such a dark
and painful story, as well as some of the graphic material shown. This movie,
however, is one of the best horror films of the century, in my humble opinion. I
enjoy this movie thoroughly and often watch it in my spare time, so I have plenty of
opinions on every aspect of this movie.
During this entire movie, all the main characters, to me, were all very interesting, as
the two(ish) antagonists are, to this day, traumatizing those who see them without
having seen the movie. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), the protagonist, is a very
hard worker who is blunt and concerned more about education and catching a killer,
as she rejects advances by both Dr. Chilton (Anthony Heald), the asylum owner, and
an entomologist named Pilcher (Paul Lazar) , who ask about her personal life. She
is often enthralled with catching Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine) that even in one of the
first scenes, she already has her sights on him. She soon dedicates every spare
moment trying to dig deeper, to find the truth and to save lives. Also, Hannibal Lector

40. The Between Ancient Chinese And Their Relationships
With...
People sceptical of Chinese traditional culture s relevance to modern environmental
concerns will point out that ancient Chinese had no term for nature in, as it were, the
David Attenborough sense nature as what natural historians study, and what TV
nature programmes are programmes about. This does not mean that the Chinese were
unable to talk about natural landscapes and wild things, nor that their concept of
nature were without implications for our relationship to nature in this sense. It does
indicate, though, that the Chinese were not wedded to a wilderness ideal and that
they did not emphasis a sharp distinction between the human and nature world.
Leisure in the ancient Chinese study will uncover the relationship between ancient
Chinese and their relationships with nature.
Echoing with the introduction chapter, the definition of leisure in ancient China refers
to characters of both xiu (a person leaning against a tree) and xian (refinement and the
purity and peacefulness of mind). As Shuowen has it, xiu character should depict
such as scene also reflects the Chinese understanding of man s relationship with and
their worship of nature .
The concept of leisure contains harmonious relationships between human beings and
nature, with humans being considered part of nature. Thus, we should not want only
offend nature, but should take the reverence of nature to be natural. In ancient times,
the Chinese used the term tiandi (heavens and the earth) to mean nature and
41. Athletic Burnout Research Essay
After receiving approval from the Institutional Review Board of the university and
permission from the coaches of the designated sports, we administered our survey
packets to student athletes that were willing to participate in our study. We found
most of our participants in the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex and Looney Arena at
Missouri Western before or after their practice times. The student athletes were asked
if they would be willing to complete surveys over self motivation and athletic burnout.
They were notified that their identity would be kept anonymous and that it would not
affect their sport or how their coaches/teammates viewed them since the coaches were
not present during the results. We asked them to read all questions carefully... Show

Another purpose of this study was to see if there is a relationship between an athlete
s self determined motivation and their athletic burnout. In designing this study,
various sports were organized into team sports (football, women s volleyball, women
s soccer, and baseball) and individual sports (tennis and men s/womens golf). Our
final sample size was a total of 41 athletes at Missouri Western State University.
Twenty one of them were individual sport athletes and 20 of them were team sport

Television came to America in the late 1940 s, It was call the home screen . At the
beginning the first telecasts were in bars, this types of business use television to win

Some of them are the little rascal, rin tin tin, Roy Rogers, superman. In 1955 abc
aired Disneyland. In 1980 and 1990 many old tv shows were introduced to new
generation this was nickelodeon cable channel.
Other related factors to the sale boom was. Parents found out how hard to deny their
children a television, as more families and neighbor acquired sets. The baby boom
was another reason that contributed to the sale boom, it was shorter of baby sitter due
to the population explosion, parents were unable to find baby sitters, parents have no
choice that stay home. Then a lot of parent s start buying television set to entertain
themselves and the children.
A similar pattern was developed with the VCR system. This happen in the 1980 s
Families with children start buying and using VCR units. Families developed rules
for the television sets. Example of this rules is; some parent limit the time children
can watch TV. In the 1950 s television was in ascendency was not absolute. People
were still continue reading. newspapers and magazines. But they did not spend a lot
of time like they use to do before. In the mid 1960 s television begin to eat away the
circulation of some newspapers and periodicals. Until this time TV shows were short.

44. Jazz Music And The Musicians Essay
Jazz music and the musicians played a pivotal role in World War II. During the war
there were a lot of patriotic songs, as well as songs about military life, humor, and
religion written in the Jazz genre. There were also numerous artists that went
overseas to perform. One of these artists was Glen Miller, who raised soldiers morale
by modernizing the army band. Jazzwas also used as a type of weapon in the war.
During the war there were a lot of patriotic songs, as well as songs about militarylife,
humor, and religion written in the jazz genre. A few patriotic songs are The House
I Live In (That s America To Me), There s A Star Spangled Banner Waving
Somewhere, America Patrol, and This IS Worth Fighting For. One Patriotic song
written by Iviring Berlin has an unusual history. It was originally written for a
military show in 1918, but was put aside when they decided that they did not want
to use it for the show. It was later pulled out of storage in 1939 by Kate Smith. Kate
s version of the song became the standard version that was used by everyone.
Another one of Iviring Berlin s songs that was written for the military show but
never used was This Is The Army, Mister Jones. This song was resurrected for a
different military show called This Is The Army. This song turned out to be a
Broadway hit as well as being independently popular. The show traveled where it
earned two million dollars for the Army Emergency Relief Fund. Religion also found
a place in
45. The First Stage Of The Consumer Decision Process
The first stage of the consumer decision process is need/problem recognition. Most
people who are looking for a diet see a need to please themselves and need change
physically. When looking at a diet consumers are looking for something that is
functional and can change them. The marketers can influence my decision by
initially being perceived as something that I need. Information is the next step in
deciding what to get based on the consumer s needs. Internal and external
information will be put in to play when deciding where to head next. Internal
information is present information and comes from previous experiences.
External information is what someone finds when looking for a solution for their
needs. Both types of information can be used to market positively and negatively.
Marketers can do everything they can to have their product be put in a good light.
When consumers look externally markets can give reasons why it s worth a
consumer s time to use their product with little to no risk. With all information
available it s time to make a decision. Decision can be hard to make depending on
the needs of a consumer. There are criteria involved in making a decision and
depending on if the product fits the criteria will determine if it will be purchased. The
determining attributes are the features most important to the consumer. If the
consumer is in need of premade meals compared to making their own that will play a
large effect in the decision. Marketers need to show their

Prioritizing IT Project Management Portfolio Prioritizing IT Project Management
Portfolio The realities of shrinking IT budgets and increasing dependence on IT in
organizations in recent years has resulted in a situation in which there is an intense
competition for resources needed to execute and complete IT projects. According to
Ross (2007), the shrinking IT budget in the face of increasing demand has brought
new pressures to the IT function. To gain approval and funding for projects, IT
departments must demonstrate that such new project will either result in cost saving,
increased sales, or result in greater enterprise wide efficiency (Ross, 2007). The
intense competition for resources makes it imperative that IT managers need to...

Points were assigned to each project on a scale of 1 10. The higher a project scores
on this point system the better the chances of its being a priority for execution. For
example the project with the highest number of points will have the highest
priority and the project with the next highest points will be next in priority. * Will

2| CRM| | | 8| | | | | * The projects in the portfolio were evaluated to determine if they
will drive and create new revenue for the organization. The E mail system and
CRM are tied at 8 points, while the ERP and Database projects came in the second
and third place respectively leaving Network upgrade at the 5th position. The
rationale here lies in the fact that CRMs are known to help drive revenues, and e
mails are effective for communication and advertising. These will drive revenues
more than the other three projects. * Will the project cut operating costs? Project| |
