2. Ancient Greek Philosophers
There has been much debate as to what change is, and is not. Ancient Greek
Philosophers were not indifferent to this. The early Greek Philosophers tried to
explain what our world is comprised of, whether it is monism (one true stuff, or
reality), or pluralism (more than one reality, or stuff ). They then proceeded to try to
elaborate and explain how change and motion occur. Heraclitus conclusion can be
summed up in a quote of his: One cannot step into the same river twice. Parmenides
and Zeno, unlike Heraclitus, came to the conclusion that the world was practically
an unmovable brick; there is no change, there is no motion. Finally, Epicurus came
to the conclusion that the world was formed from indivisible, and constantly
colliding atoms. Heraclitus was a monist. His interpretation of the one and true
reality was fire. This is not to be taken literally, because Heraclitus believed that the
one could never be any material thing, but was found in the orderliness of change.
He said fire was always changing yet somehow is always the same. He believed
that everything is being changed constantly, and this is occurring through a state of
flux. By having orderliness, it becomes possible for the human mind to comprehend
the world, instead of it being entirely chaotic and based on the will of gods. Since
the rate of change is constant, an appearance of permanence exists. Hence, one
cannot step into the same river twice. (Jones 16) At first, it might appear as if you
3. Ethical and Legal Concerns for Emergency Room
Physicians...
There are unique ethical and legal obligations of the Emergency Room Physician.
Commonly faced issues include patient dumping , organ donation, and Do Not
Resuscitate orders. These issues have ethical and legal considerations for the
Emergency Room Physician in regards to their responsibilities and actions.
The ethical right for individuals to have access to health care already has a form of
legal binding within the United States as seen in the Emergency Medical Treatment
and Active Labor Act. In 1986, Congress passed the Emergency Medical Treatment
and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), which forbids Medicare participating hospitals
from dumping patients out of emergency departments (Pozgar, 2010, p. 221). The act
provides that:
In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the EMTALA, therefore, much more than emergency room care is
provided regardless of ability to pay (Menzel, 2011, p. 84).
Hospitals are not only required to care for emergency patients, but they also are
required to do so in a timely fashion (Pozgar, 2010, p. 272). Hospitals are expected
to notify specialty on call physicians when their particular skills are required in the
emergency department. An on call physician who fails to respond to a request to
attend a patient can be liable for injuries suffered by the patient because of his or
her failure to respond (Pozgar, 2010, p. 271). Under the doctrine of Respondeat
Superior, hospitals are also liable for the actions of physicians working or on call in
their emergency department.
The need for organ donations creates another ethical dilemma for Emergency Room
Physicians. Obtaining organs from emergency room patients has long been
considered off limits in the United States because of ethical and logistical concerns
(Stein, 2010). The shortage of organs available for transplant has caused many
patients die while waiting. A pilot project from the federal government has begun
promoting an alternative that involves surgeons taking organs, within minutes, from
patients whose hearts have stopped beating but who have not been declared brain
dead (Stein, 2010). The Uniform Determination of Death Act
4. Mental Abuse In The Indian Horse
Young Indigenous children from all over Canada were snatched from their homes,
taken from their families, and placed in residential schools that would ruin these
children and bring out the feeling of pain that would last their entire life. In Richard
Wagamese novel Indian horse, Saul Indian Horse, one of the many victims of the
sixties scoop was taken as a young boy, where he was abused mentally, physically
and emotionally at St. Jerome s residential school. This school would inflict pain that
would last forever and has a terrible aftermath on his life that puts him in a long and
difficult healingprocess he endured to turn his life around from the distractions he
used to hide from the pain. Richard Wagamese tells the story of Indian Horse through
the eyes of Saul Indian Horse to demonstrate the feelings he endures during the story
for the readers better understanding of the character.
St. Jerome was an abusive school the Indigenous children were taken to, not only
physically and sexually but there was also plenty of mental abuse Saul and the
other children withstood. The new children at the school were never welcomed
warmly with open arms, but as if they were criminals of murder and meant to be
placed in a cell. Saul begins his time at the school by being tossed into tubs to be
washed, Then a pair of nuns scrubbed us with stiff bristled brushes. The soap was
harsh. They rubbed us nearly raw. It felt like they were trying to remove more than
grime or odor. It felt as though
5. Rationality In The Aeneid
For decades humanity has fought an ongoing war between emotional and logical
reasoning. Some tend to trust by nature, and convince themselves to make the
impossible possible, no matter how bleak the situation may seem. However, there is a
point when this optimism turns to lunaty. Others think more rationally, making
cogent discussions over all desire. But are these rational choices more important than
sentiments of the heart? Perhaps the best representation of these differentiating mind
sets is in Virgils The AeneidBook IV and Book II . Queen Didos character represents
heart over head, while Aeneas represents head over heart . I believe that virgil uses
Queen Dido and Aeneas to represent how each of these attitudes can negatively or
positively affect the outcome of a situation, and are ultimately equal.
The first instance we see of Virgil displaying this, is when Aeneas recounts how he
and the rest of the soldiers captured troy. Aeneas has the mind of soldier and a very
it is what it is attitude. His years in battle have taught him that life is no joyride, and
your fate is not in your own hands. He has lived and learned this lesson one to many
times. In The Aeneid Book II: How they took the city, Aeneas remarks
When gods are contrary, They stand by no one (2.532 533)
In this we are able to see Aeneas highly nuanced view of the gods, which was
considered to be very rational then. Though the gods can be friendly, they more
often than not will reign terror on those who are not compliant. This explains why
Aeneas lives his life the way he does. He is god fearing above all other things, and
therefore is very disciplined with himself. This quality has led him far in life and
brought glory to his name. It is no shock to the reader that later on Aeneas decides
to leave Dido to fulfil his destiny. This time however, his choice of logical thinking
over true feelings causes a downpour of chaos. We see his struggle to follow his
morals in Book II of The Aeneid .
Day bound, Aeneas, though he struggled with desire
To calm and comfort her in all Her pain,
To speak to her and turn her mind from grief,
And though he sighed his heart out, shaken still with love for her
Yet took the course heaven gave him
6. Social Media, Though Relatively New,Is A Growing Part Of
Social media, though relatively new, is a growing part of everyday life. The
question one must ask is: what impact does this form of communication have on
global politics? Whereas social media is not always a reliable source, it serves to
engage the global population in a casual manner, weaving politics into the fabric of
everyday life. Social media influences not only the mundane, daily political ongoings
from country to country but also political movements and revolutions. However, one
must remain wary, as that this form of media is heavily biased, which can present
issues for a less informed audience.

While these types of political monologues may still take place on social media, they
are not the only kind of discussion and, generally, leave room for debate between
parties.
With these everyday discussions surrounding politics comes influence from the
general public social media provides a space to enable a more efficient information
exchange and a more egalitarian structure of communication between politicians and
citizens , rather than relying exclusively on formal methods of communication. New
technological advancements, particularly in social media, have virtually severed the
gap between politicians and the public, resulting in a changing political rhetoric from
what was previously considered the norm. Much of a politician s campaign and
publicity now takes place online through likes, tweets, and reposts. In this fashion,
Israel held their general elections in March of 2015, which the right wing party won.
Throughout the electoral campaign right wing politicians exhibited higher levels of
activity on social media platforms compared to the centre or left wing parties. While
left wing supporters were highly active online, it was not through the support of their
preferred candidates. What was most commonly shared by those against the right
wing party were posts, videos, and images attacking the incumbent right wing Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who eventually won . Despite being vehemently

7. Evolution And Human Cognitive Evolution
Humans have a talent: they have the unique ability to manipulate almost anything
organic to make it more consumable. This started when the first humans used crude
stone cutting tools to cut meat off the bone of their prey (Larsen 2017). Many
anthropologists recognize this ability as an extreme step in our cognitive evolution
(Larsen 2017). Researchers agree that humans were hunter gatherers at one point,
but how did our brains develop the intellectual capacity for creating tools and
utilizing our environment to eat more nutrient rich food? Theories exist that meat
eating and use of fire for cooking helped expand our brains (Larsen 2017).
However, what did humans eat before all of that? What nutrients allowed us to
develop the skills for using fire and tools to our advantage? Many studies point
towards a dietary factor of foods that are rich in fatty acidssuch as DHA and AA
contributing to a jumpstart in our cognitive evolution without requiring a higher level
skill set (Allen 2010). Even though just like fish and shellfish, terrestrial animals
provided protein and the fatty acidAA that could have contributed to humancognitive
evolution, the jumpstart to our cognitive evolution was likely caused by a dietary
factor of aquatic life (Allen 2010). This is because gathering aquatic life did not
require any significant technological advancements, hunting for fish and shellfish was
easier than competing with predators for terrestrial prey, and aquatic life, including
fish and shellfish, is high in fatty acids that support essential components of
developing mammalian nervous systems (Brenna and Carlson, 2014:99).
First, the jumpstart to our cognitive evolution was likely caused by a dietary factor of
aquatic life because gathering aquatic life did not require any technological
advancements. A team of researchers who discovered two non hominin fossil
specimens at the Hadar Formation in Ethiopia observe that the specimens ...are
contemporaneous with the earliest documented stone tools, and they collectively bear
twelve marks interpreted to be characteristic of stone tool butchery damage
(Thompson et al. 2015:112). This suggests that humans would have used tools to cut
the meat from the bone of their prey, meaning

1.1 Capital Structure
As much as market cap measures to what s related to the company s equity value, a
firm s decision based on its capital structure estimates more significantly to how the
value of that company is allocated not only for the return on equity but accounting
for debt as well. Most economists would refer to capital structure as the mix of a
company s long term debt, the current portion of it, and of common and preferred
stock. Furthermore, large tech companies today have been taking advantage of
capital structure optimizations as it is placed shoulder to shoulder to increasing
return on equity thus lowering weighted average costs of capital for long term
investment. In other words, it is how a corporate manager should base his/her
decisions on financing the company s assets and operations through various growth
prospects and forecast estimates. We will begin to further evaluate the composition of

In the novel, Detroit: An American Autopsy, Charlie LeDuff, a former reporter for
The Detroit News and The New York Times, provides a personal account of his

economic, political, and demographic decline in the recent decades, with even the
city s notorious and once thriving automobile industry struggling with increasing

Government officials, such as senators and police officers, were investigated in

civilization throughout the Detroit. Firefighters, who are tasked with working in a
city that does not provide them with adequate resources to do so, risk and
sometimes lose their lives to save the city from fires. LeDuff narrates the details of
how one firefighter, previously a new friend of his, rushed into an abandoned house
in an effort to save those inside; unfortunately, the house was empty and the
collapsing roof ended his life. He also recounts for his connections with businessmen,
homeless individuals, and struggling homeowners to portray the slivers of hope and
determination holding the falling city together. Regardless of the problems of race,
economics, politics, and overall desperation of the city, LeDuff presents Detroit to be
facing issues that transcend so. The government has destroyed individuals and
possibly any positive light the city may see, as well as humanity has been marooned
as people have not only lost jobs but also their relationships between others around
them. With Detroit s recent declaration of bankruptcy in 2013, a once thriving city

The Assassination of Julius Caesar
The assassination of Julius Caesar in 44BC by conspiring members of the Roman
senate was an effort to remove a dictator whose power had grown to extraordinary
levels and to revive the Republic government. Caesar s power span throughout the
entire Roman Empire, which during his reign extended from present day Syria,
down into parts of Africa, over to Spain, most of France and all of Italy. He had the
favor of the people, military and most of the Roman government. Caesar s death at

have been given awards for their creativity and meaning in their music. With five

the 1970s. Their music changed history in their time. Many of their songs on their

14. Persuasive Essay On How To Be Responsible For A Rabbit
First thing everyone tends to ask when you tell them you breed rabbits is, Oh they
must breed like rabbits right? WRONG! Any responsible breeder should not just
breed any rabbits they have in cages constantly and to any rabbit and have them
breed like rabbits , here is the step by step process of how to be a responsible rabbit
breeder.
Consider your options before you consider breeding rabbits, This is not an easy job
nor should it be taken lightly you are bringing life into this work therefore you are
responsible for them. You needto consider all the work that is needed for these
small animals including cage cleaning, feeding, watering, evaluation babies, putting
together pedigrees and medical records. You also need to consider all the money
that has to be put into them including but not limited to feed, cages, the animals
themselves, feeders and waterers, toys and vet bills. So consider all your options and
see you if are up for all the work and money needed to invest and care for these
animals.
If you decide that you want to invest both time and money into these animals you
need to start planning and preparing for these animals to join your critter crew. First
part of this is figure out which breed of rabbit you want to work with and what size
as that will affect the supplies you buy for them. Questions to consider; do you
want to raise for show or meat purposes or both? The breed you choose will
determine what size cages and what supplies you need to get as well as different
rabbit supplements and feeds to get. As i personally raise mini rex that is what that
following steps will be based on.
Where you have your rabbitry is a big part of how your breeding operation well
run. Many people do have their rabbits outside but the recommended spot in a
garage or a barn with heat an out of the elements where it is less stressful. Once
you ve figured out where you are going to be housing your rabbits the next type is
figuring out what size and type of cages will work best for you. There are many
types of cages that people use, including solid bottom cages where you use bedding
in them, then there is hanging cages where the poop and pee just drop on the ground
and you use a shovel to scoop the poop.

demands for renewable alternatives have become very important. Biofuel will have a
greater impact on our transport future as it is an alternative fossil fuelled based

The Tragedy of Kristallnacht Kristallnacht was a very tragic night during the
Holocaust. Nothing was ever the same between the millions of Jews getting killed,
their homes getting destroyed, and their race being slowly eradicated by Hitler.
The aftermath led to even more severe damage. However, the death of one person
started it all. The Night of Broken Glass was an intensely devastating occurrence
which took place due to the assassination of Ernst Vom Rath and brought upon
various consequences to the people. Kristallnacht took place on the night of
November 9, 1938. This disastrous event was also called the Night of Broken
Glass, for the shattered glass from the store windows that littered the streets.
Kristall refers to the lead crystal glass used in shop windows and display cabinets.
This event was unplanned and had many consequences. Research states, Over 250
synagogues were burned, over 7,000 Jewish businesses were trashed and looted,
dozens of Jewish people were killed, and Jewish cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and

21. Hot Zone Epidemic
The Hot Zone Activity C How has human activity affected viruses? Human activity
affects viruses in many ways. Factors like the way we travel and emissions put out
by our production facilities all have a part. Some recent outbreaks like with the
SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) virus outbreak in China and the swine
flu outbreak in 2010 and 2011 support this. The current Dengue fever pandemic is
as well, and human activity is contributing to the spread of this deadly virus. To
viruses, the main role of us humans is to act as walking, virus riddled bombs, only
to burst and spread the infection more. The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
(SARS) virus is a serious case of pneumonia which can be traced back to the
horseshoe bat, its natural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That number was the amount of laboratory confirmed cases, but further analysis
concluded that the total was near 285,00 deaths. Research showed that the
outbreak caused by this flu was a triple reassortant virus comprised of bird, pig, and
human viruses. This strand began to spread in pigs around North and South
America in the 1990s (Knox, 2012). The H1N1 (swine flu) virus is one that has the
ability to mutate between hosts and, in this case, between species. This is a trait
that contributes to the longevity of the virus and makes it very difficult to eliminate
(Gholipour, 2013). One of the main reasons the swine flu is transmitted to humans
is the breeding and farming of pigs. Because pigs are typically farmed in very large
quantities, the areas in which they are bred tend to be unkempt and crowded. This
makes it easier for the virus to mutate between the hosts and eventually to the humans
who are in close proximity with the pigs. The breeding and farming of animals for
food and dairy is another way humans contribute to the spread of
22. New France Contributions To Canada
New France In the development of what is known today as Canada, during the
Elizabethan era, there was a series was highly documented and, surprisingly, not well
known occurrences. The colonization of New France set the foundation for Canada.
The early settlers grew as a nation while holding true to some teachings of the
French. The French were originally on the search for an alternative route for Asia and
instead stumbled upon what was soon to become their greatest achievement. The
French set out to trade in Asia, but found ever growing success from the new land,
despite every complication. The development of New France began with explorers
who established a good reputation for both the colonies and themselves. Esteemed

23. Grant Wood’s American Gothic Essay
Grant Wood s American Gothic is one of the most famous paintings in the history
of American art. The painting brought Wood almost instant fame after being
exhibited for the first time at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1930. It is probably
the most reproduced and parodied works of art, and has become a staple within
American pop culture. The portrait of what appears to be a couple, standing
solemnly in front of their mid western home seems to be a simplistic representation
of rural America. As simple as it sounds, when looking deeper into this image, it
reveals something much more complex. The first thing to notice about this painting
is how incredibly involved and realistic the brushwork is. The couple s faces are so

It is almost a reflection of the man s trident. That same pitchfork shape also appears
in the window of the house that sits in between both figure s heads. Repetition can
also be seen in the dotted pattern of the woman s outfit, which also appears in the
material of the curtain that hangs in the house s window. The echo of verticals in
this painting is also strong. The faces and bodies of the figures seem to be
stretched, and narrowed. The pitchfork s slender prongs and the green stripes on
the man s shirt also add to the elongation of their frame. The copious amounts of
vertical wood boards that make up the house and the barn, keep the viewer s eye
moving up and down the picture plane. Wood s use of verticality in this painting is
overwhelming. There is also a striking luminosity to the painting. The man and the
woman s faces appear to slightly glow, as if you can really see the reflection of the
sun beaming off of their skin. This was achieved by a complex method of applying
glazes. Wood would apply a layer of oil paint, allow it to dry, and then varnish it.
This tedious process would be repeated numerous times. It was a process perfected
by the 16th century Venetian painter, Titian. The series of glazes seems to have
created an overwhelming sense of depth and radiance within the paint. Wood s use
of glazes is not the only reference to early Italian painters. It is clear that Wood was
inspired by Northern

secured their status as one of the most influential groups ever (probably second only
to The Beatles!).

Very similar to the take that eventually surfaced on Coda , it pummels along in
friendly conjunct legato form, live in the studio style. This is clearly a consonant
harmony, exemplifying verse and chorus form. Robert Plant s vocal mix set can be
detected after the Pink carnation and a pick up truck line. From that point he
accompanies Jimmy Page s delightful fortissimo solo adding, I don t care what
they say, I love you anyway, I ll drive you wild . Like most of these Polar mixes,
instead of fading out; the homophonic track grinds to a halt with a tinkling of John

its completed verse and chorus mix. Some of the studio banter retained from Polar
demonstrates the fun atmosphere that the four were working in. The beginning of
Fool In The Rain, is forte, after Page counts in two, three Plant wades in with a

In the past few decades, climate change has been an essential topic for the global
citizens due to the use of fossil fuel and other pollutions, which contribute an
estimated 70% of the world s energy related greenhouse gases (Jiang, W., Pitts, A.

climate analysis, the main benchmark to define criteria design, in order to reduce the
usage of non renewable energy(Boeri, A. Longo, D.2010). Sustainabilitycan be

I utilize two scenes from the movie American Beauty, the two office scenes including
Lester (Kevin Spacey) and Brad (Barry Del Sherman). The cinematic techniques are
identified with mise en scene, which is the term used to portray everything put into
the scene . I concentrate on decor, lighting and props, costumes, body language (e.g.,
posture, gestures and facial expressions) and composition. I additionally take a
gander at how these components are confined as far as camera stature, camera point
and camera separate, all of which fall under the class of cinematography. The scene
seems right off the bat the movie. Toward the start of American Beauty, the hero,

the room itself is monstrous, utilitarian, faintly lit, ineffectively enhanced and is
terribly dull and dim. Behind Lester, there is only a diminishing plant stuck in a
corner and a work of art that is too little for the divider. The stylistic layout
uncovers what sort of association Lester works for, one that sucks the life and
light out of its representatives. As far as sythesis, the surrounding of the shot is
terrible too. Lester is situated in the middle base of the casing, which is a bizarre
place to put the primary subject. There is to an extreme degree a lot of headroom
above him, his feet appear to be removed, a roof light bulges down into the highest
point of the casing. It is an appalling shot in a dim, revolting room; it serves as a
visual appearance of Lester s discontent and unease. Here the shot is a mid shot, and
Brad possesses an expansive bit of the edge. The low edge mid shot accentuates his
energy, particularly when compared with the high point wide shot of Lester that we
just took a gander at. At the point when Brad stands up, the low edge shot is further
stressed. Outwardly, Brad is displayed as being prevailing. His stance his straight,
he is more youthful, he is dressed all the more stylishly and his outward appearances
uncover pomposity and disdain. Behind him, the vertical Venetian blinds make a
visual example that infers the bars of a correctional facility cell or pen. To Lester, his

Cinderella Man: The Peoples Princess
Ron Howard s Cinderella Man is a cinematic work that bears the ability to strike the
very core of any sentient being on planet earth. The film, which outlines the life and
times of boxer James J. Braddock, features seemingly indomitable highs in the
boxing career of The Bulldog of Burgen as well as his precipitous decent into squalor
during the Great Depression. During the depression Jim Braddock is reduced to a
shell of the man that he once was. He not only diminishes physically, but he is
forced to part ways with the pride associable with an elite boxer, and thusly Braddock
becomes a beggar at the very office where he was once a prizefighter. The former
Bulldog lives out his days making pittance as a dockworker whilst desperately trying
to keep his family from the streets. In doing so, Braddock makes a miraculous
resurgence in the boxing world and experiences an inconceivable rise to glory. The
film concludes with Braddock dethroning the notably bellicose Max Baer to become

30. Pros And Cons Of Chemical Castration
For centuries, society has said, the punishment should fit the crime, but at what
point do we reach a line we aren t willing to cross. Sexual assault is a serious
problem we are faced with every day, and it does not discriminate between men,
women, or children. In fact, every 98 seconds, someone is sexually assaulted in
America and every 8th minute of that, the victim is a child. Mandatory chemical
castrationin convicted sex offenders is a debate that has long been analyzed and
attacked from both sides and each have shown to offer valid points, but the deterrence
and recidivism rates have proven that rendering a sexual offender impotent with
chemical castration is more effective than prison, can free the offender of unwanted
sexual urges, and shows we take this issue seriously by putting the victims rights
above the predator.
When considering the pros and cons of effectiveness between chemical castration
vs prison, studies performed have given us ample choices to discuss in favor of
castration. At the very top of that list, we have money. Who doesn t love to save a
dollar here and there? Or a few thousand, to be exact. On average, it costs tax
payers in the United States, $51,286 a year to house an inmate in prison, with the
most expensive state being California, costing north of $80,000. On the other hand,
chemical castration costs approximately $9,000 a year for testosterone lowering
drugs and funding is the sole responsibility of the offender. What if they refuse to
pay for the medication or are financially incapable of it, you ask? Even when paired
with the necessary psychological treatment, the drug program for a sex offender
would still cost less than half for tax payers than prison housing. Furthermore, we
can prove the effectiveness of castration thanks to studies conducted and documented
over decades on recidivism. One performed out of a California maximum security
prison, observed 260 convicted sexual predators once released. They were divided
into two groups; medicated and non treated, and then divided into two sub groups;
rapists, and child molesters. Treatment results varied based on the type of sexual
offender, but the one consistency to the study was that in both groups, the rate of

John using hyperboles by saying, He has these gigantic eyes that look right through

32. The Separation Surgery On Conjoined Twins
I would usually read books like this, but I would like to mention how interesting it
was while reading. One of Us has valuable information and stories of conjoined
twins, not only in the United States but all around the world. I found it interesting
how the author uses medical term and quantitative data to identify the different types
of twin and how many are there. I did not know there were so many different types
of conjoined twin, and where they are attached or infused. Alice Dreger purpose of
this book is analyzing case studies both past and present, along with questions and
assumptions about anatomy and normality, and transforms our understanding of how
we are all intricately and inextricably joined. She also explored the separation surgery
on conjoined twins. Providing historical and contemporary evidence that most adults
conjoined twins do not desire to be separated, and that many operations are carried
out on children too young, by individualizing them at all cost which may result in a
tragic event.
Most children born with challenging anatomies have their bodies changed because of
what physicians were forcing parents to believe there is no hope fundamentally. One
of Us views conjoined twins, as people living with unique anatomies, and considers
these issues within the larger historical context of anatomical politics. In the book, it
spoke about a few conjoined twins that were exploited by putting them on display and
numerous exhibitions. Chang and Eng Bunker

1. Diversity is a range of different things, forms, types, ideas, races and cultures.
Learning diversity would allow me to be great teacher. Teachers must come to
understand the real lived experience of the families and children they teach. Being
educated on diversity could help me understand the different circumstances and
characteristics of various students. It would make you more aware of different
cultures, and better me for cultures and beliefs. As I continue out my career when I
come in contact with more diverse students I will be more educate and efficient
then I was before. To prepare for diversity you should all ways be opened minded. A
great teacher is flexible and prepared for the unexpected.
2. I think testing teachers is a great idea to be sure the teachers are staying efficient.
This allows the teacher to know what area he or she needs to improve in. Change and
criticism is a great thing to become a more efficient teacher. Achieving and
maintaining a high level of quality in teacher education and professional development
programs should be key elements in any strategy to improve teacher quality. Testing

Teaching is a great profession because they are fundamental for the development and
success of their students. Teacher is a gate in education system. Students are in school
most of their day causing teachers to be role models. Teachers are somewhat like their

their students towards greatness and to be more responsible. Students are learning
more and more from teachers to combine their beliefs and morals from their families
to succeeded in life. Teacher professional development makes teacher commitment

39. Biblical References In The Bible
Sir, I wanted to check before using this references. I want to use biblical references
as one of my references perhaps the Bible. I want to reference both the Old
Testament and the New Testament. My topic is the denial of services to same sex
couples. The reason I want to use this book as a reference is that this is often used
as a reason to deny services. While this is not the main theme of my paper as the
paper is to be written as a persuasive one , it is my intent to show those that claim to
have a religious belief do no really have any reason if they are labeling themselves as
Christians. To be a Christian means to attempt to live as Jesus Christ would live,
many that oppose this argument will quote from the old testament laws regarding
40. The Power Of Russia
The Russian Federation has been one of the world s greatest Super Powers and it
has been for well over a century. However, is Russia still considered the once great
powerful nation that it once was? Although, prior to 2009, Russia was using weapons
that were decades old, the superpower continued to maintain one of the largest
militaries in the world. Russias economy suffered a dramatic hit due to a recession
that it is slowly emerging from. The unwavering support of its allies has gradually
dwindled due to recent actions Russia s key leaders have taken; even so, there have
been some key improvements over the last few years that prove Russia may be
moving towards a brighter future. These few factors weigh into the debate and each...

Therefore, until the equipment and weapon arsenal have reached a complete state
of improvement, the Russian military will continue to fall behind the rest of the
World Super Powers. The state of the Russian economy does not make the situation
any better. Oil makes up two thirds of the total exports from Russia, despite
multiple discussions to diversify resource reliance (David, 2017). The global
financial crisis of 2009, coupled with falling oil prices, international sanctions, and
structural limitations pushed Russia into a deep recession in 2015, with the GDP
falling by close to 4%. (CIA World Factbook, 2017). The contracting economy
continues into 2016, with the GDP falling another 0.6%, expecting to fall by another
5% in 2017 if oil continues below $40 per barrel. Without an immediate negotiation to
either lift trade sanctions or find an alternative resource dependence, the economic
decline will continue. Trade sanctions emplaced after the Crimea incident in 2014
were implemented by the European Union (EU) and the United States to target the
Russian financial, energy, and defense sectors (Lee, 2016). The continued devaluation
of the Russian ruble multiplied the effect of strain on the fledgling nation. Currency
values fell approximately 50% since the middle of 2014; in turn, making it more
expensive for Russia to import from other countries. The future of Russia s economy
is uncertain. Unless their leadership
41. Women s Freedom during China s Revolutionary Period
Essay
Women s Freedom during China s Revolutionary Period
During the revolutionary period in China from 1921 to 1934, although there were
undercurrents of an actual feminist movement, according to Kay Ann Johnson in
Women, the Family Peasant Revolution in China, women s progress resulted more as
a necessity of the war than the leadership s commitment to emancipate women.
Furthermore, when tension arose between men and women, the leadership usually
appeased men over women. By not discussing the mentality of the political parties
and the dynamics of the war, Hughes and Hughes critique lacks an explanation of the
underlying motives that drove these parties to sometimes support women and other
times reject women s interests. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hughes and Hughes refer to the Guomindang (KMT), another revolutionary party,
that issued demands for equality between the sexes, permission for women to inherit
property, [and] free marriage and divorce (H H 236).
However, Hughes and Hughes do not fully explain the tensions and underlying
reasons for the CCP s support of women. Johnson, on the other hand, argues that from
the onset, the Party distrusted the feminist groups themselves as elitist, bourgeois
reformers (Johnson 40). Therefore, any progress made by the Party in favor of
women was not true emancipation but emancipation disguised under ulterior motives.
Instead, the Party deemed women s reforms advantageous to their political strategy
and position in the war. For example, after 1928, the Communists policies were
aimed at increasing women s activities that supported the war effort and the economy.
It became important for the Party to win women s support because women were able
to affect men s decisions. Sometimes women would attempt to dissuade their
husbands or sons from joining the army. Therefore, by gaining women s support, men
s participation in the army would increase. In addition, being able to teach women
agricultural duties greatly increased the availability of men for battle. Thus, a
successful war effort meant that the Party was able to tap the
42. Television Program Unfit For A Young Kid
One of my fondest moments growing up, besides curling up in my mothers arms
as she cuddled me, was watching reruns of Tom Jerry. Some parents would
question my mother s choice of letting me watch such a violent cartoon at the
tender age of three since it displayed a lot of unforgivingly violent moments such
as: how many chokes and gags Tom performed on Jerry and vice versa. It is a tough
question to answer, as is the question of whether Tom and Jerry was considered
excessively violent television programunfit for a young kid. However, in all honesty,
it is up to the parents of the child to regulate what they believe personally to be the
best fit for a young child to watch. There is a huge difference between now and
then: parents have much more power on regulating what their children see on TV
with the technology of parental control that started surfacing recently which did
not exist in my time. In this context, many people believed, and probably still do,
that the government should have acted as a surrogate for parents whose only
control of the TV was the power button. Today, parents can filter or tailor TV
programs in majority of ways like the V chip for example, which allows certain
programs blocked off if the parents deem it so or based on ratings. There is also
another avenue like the cable satellite boxes that exist today which offer a vast
variety of screening tools to prevent children from exploring televisionchannels or
programs a parent might feel too

Furthermore, Stella s character is very similar to her actress s public image. Stella

She does what the broad public does. She also dresses very casually and simple.
She is a normal, middle aged woman but she is also so much more than that.
Wisecracking Stella is the main source of comic relief. She explains the audience
what is going on at the moment blunt, at times, but always honest. Her honesty and
bluntness clarify what is going on at the moment. Stella is not afraid to point out the
obvious. She states the gross facts and answers the question everybody s mind:
„Now just where do you suppose he cut her up? „Oh of course! In the bathtub.
That s the only place he could wash away the blood.
Furthermore, she foreshadows in the beginning of the film that Jeff s spying won t
be good for him. In the beginning, Stella reminds him that he could get in jail for
„peeping . She prides herself on having a nose for trouble, which turns out to be
true Jeff s spying did get him in trouble, because he did not listen to her advice.
During her first scene she is able to make a social commentary, do her job and to
scold Jeff. Stella gets things done. She is an
44. Was Catherine De Medici A Success Or A Failure
Catherine De Medici was an Italian noblewoman who became Queen of France
under the rule of King Henry the first of the Valois Dynasty. However, the title
queen did not mean that Catherine was entitled to any power nor that her own
husband would mind her much attention. Diane de Poitier who was Catherine s
cousin was the true Queen of France although it was in an unofficial capacity as she
was uncrowned and only the mistress of the king. For a decade into their marriage,
Catherine bore no children and her marriage was a complete failure. King Henry the

nation and Catherine was left completely unattended. Even when Catherine finally
became pregnant and bore

How do you feel about history? Do you like or dislike it? Everyone has different
opinions about history. Keeping old history today can be both a good and a bad
thing. For example slavery and racial diversity, slavery would be a bad idea
because many people would be wanting freedom causing them to boycott and or
run away. Racial diversity, would be a good idea because it would keep all people
untied and in peace. In the city Longtown located in the state Ohio, has races mixed

46. Lord Of The Rings Language Analysis
The Power of Language in The Lord of the Rings How powerful can language
really be? In The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien there are a lot of powers that
the characters have and what I noticed most was the power of language. The
characters I found most knowledgeable and skilled with the power of language are
Tom Bombadil, Frodo Baggins, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalfthe Grey, and Galadriel. The
power of language is shown in a variety of characters and is used to guide the story,
also, Tolkien views language as a universal power we can all access because almost
all characters use it in The Lord of the Rings. Tom Bombadil demonstrates his use of
the power of language through poems. When he is first introduced, he is singing and

Therefore, Tom s power of language is unmeasurable and helps save the hobbits in
danger, while on their important quest.. Frodo Baggins is another character who
uses the power of language, but instead of immediately helping others with it, he
uses language to strengthen himself in times of need. When Frodo is surrounded
by Nazgul, and he has nowhere to go, he yells O Elbereth! Gilthoniel (221). This
Elven battle cry causes the dark riders to scream and gives Frodo enough courage
to strike a Nazgul in the foot. Later on Frodo s adventure, when in danger
again, before striking a troll, Frodo yells The Shire! (364). Frodo screaming the
name of his homeland provided him yet again with enough courage and strength to
stab at the foot of the troll. What really changed from the events involving Frodo
and his use of language, is the fact that Frodo is now able to bring power and
strength to himself through language more personal to him, not just Elvish
language which is powerful on its own. The thing that stands out to me when it
comes to Bilbo and his power of language, is the fact that his forms of language;
songs and poems, are rejuvenating to others when he isn t even around. During his
journey with Aragorn and the hobbits, Sam sings a song that brings joy to
everyone and lightens the mood when they are down. He then says I learned it from
Mr. Bilbo when I was a lad (210). The fact that the song, sung by others besides
Bilbo, can still brings joy and light
47. Triumph Of The Will
The film, Triumph of the Will, is a historical representation of Hitler s era, as it
shows scenes of him giving speeches out to different crowds and their response.
Adolf Hitler was a volunteer in World War I, where he got the idea that Germany s
civilization was in a decline. He then decided to enter politics in order to make a
change to the unfair Treaty of Versailles and expand Germanys territory. After
President von Hindenburg died in August 1934, Hitler combined the titles of
chancellor and leader, taking full control of the German state. Hitler took advantage
of the vulnerable and weak state that Germany was in, to take control and win
popularity among the people with his strong, imposing, and straight forward
speeches. Through his actions he made it clear that he was completely against the
agreements made in the Treaty of Versailles. He defied the Treaty by increasing the
army and rebuilding their air force. Another action taken against the Treaty was
Hitler ordering German troops to move into the area of Rhineland, despite the Treaty
stating that the area needed to be a demilitarized zone. By keeping his word, Hitler
gained more support from the crowd, which is shown throughout the film.... Show

The film presented numerous speeches by people of the Nazi party and Hitler. Hitler
s speeches depicted the idea of unity, which he directed to different groups of people
from men of the army to the youth. To the youth he states that they are the future of
the nation, therefore they should not let class divisions come between them, rather
they must come together under solidarity. Hitler states that the people must unite in
order to regain the greatness and strength of the nation, that was lost during World
War
48. How Do Henry Paine And Jefferson Use Rhetorical Devices
Rhetorical devices are often turned to because of how effectively they are able to
convey ideas Henry, Paine, and Jefferson being prime users of them. Often times,
these devices are used to make ideas clearer or to provide insights for the audience.
These techniques allowed Henry, Paine, and Jefferson to illustrate their hatred
towards the British and effectively influence their audience to feel the same. As a
result, the audience is able to be easily manipulated by their impassioned appeals.
Rhetorical devices such as antithesis and repetition are commonly utilized within
their works in order to push their audience to formulate strong opinions against the
British. For example, Henry s repeated use of Sir and let it come (Source A) in
49. The Power of Nuclear Engery
Atoms for Peace One of the biggest issues we face in the 21st century is how we
can produce energy for our rapidly growing energy needs effectively. There are
many sources we can obtain energy from to fulfill our needs such as coal, oil,
natural gas, nuclear and alternatives like wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, and
biofuels but all of these sources have their negatives. Whether it s the cost of a
project, the negative environmental affects, or even the appearance of certain
facility. Nuclear energy can be the greatest and most beneficial energy source for
the United States. There is no doubt energy is an important resource. We use
energy in every aspect of our lives. In the year 2010 the whole world used a total of
511 quadrillion British thermal units of energy and of the 511 quadrillion The
United States primary energy consumption was nearly 98 quadrillion Btu, nearly
19% of world total primary energy consumption (U.S. Energy Information
Admin.). To put things into perspective 1 quadrillion Btu equals 45 million tons of
coal or about 172 million barrels of crude oil. So the United Sates would have used
4.4 billion tons of coal or about 17 billion barrels of crude oil in 2010 alone. As
population grows the demand for energy consumption will grow by 56 percent
between 2010 and 2040 (U.S. E.I.A.). With demand expected to grow that much
within the next 30 years, it is essential we build a sturdy foundation to prepare us for
the future. Like all energy source
50. Character Analysis Of Napoleon In Animal Farm
The First character s name is Napoleon. Napoleon is a selfish pig, literally.
Napoleon sees himself as superior to the people around him. Everyone else is his
tool to his own personal gain. There really is no main character in Animal Farm, but
Napoleon is the closest to one. Napoleon is important to the story because he is the
one who starts all of the problems on Animal Farm. If it were not for him then the
animalscould all live equally in harmony. The next character is Snowball. Snowball
is another pig. He is for the people and wants to improve Animal Farm. Napoleon
views the animals around him as comrades. He does benefit from them because he
is a pig and does not have to work, but he does not abuse them. Snowball is the one

Book Summary The story starts with a meeting off all animals in the barn at
Manor Farm. They meet to hear the wisdom of Old Major. He tells them that
humans are evil and are the sole cause for the animals lives of discomfort and
overwork. He says that they must all band together to overthrow man and live
together. He also says that they must never live like man because they are evil.
They construct seven commandments that the animals must follow in order to not
become like humans. Old Major dies soon after the night of their meeting. The
animals are waiting for their chance when they take an opportunity and take the
farm from their master Mr. Jones. The animals celebrate and start their new lives.
The animals rename the farm from Manor farm to Animal Farm. They paint the
seven commandments on the side of the barn. From the start the pigs do not work.
They claim that their work is to think because they are the smartest. They have all
of the animals working hard and collect a good harvest. The animals hold debates
every Sunday. These only involve Snowball and Napoleon, who always oppose each
other. The pigs learn to read and try to teach the other but do not have much luck.
Word spreads about Animal Farm and some men try to retake it. Snowball heard of
their plans
51. Black Site Torture Is An Ongoing Injustice
Black Site Torture Imagine suddenly waking up to find yourself in a small cell,
handcuffed and chained to the wall by your ankle. The only thing in your room is a
hard mattress and a bucket. A continuous white noise is blared over the speakers.
Night and day no longer exists, only the florescent bulb that never goes out. The
only people you ever see are the masked guards that drag you off for interrogation.
Imagine that goes on for nineteen months. Difficult to picture, right? That s how it

innocent people are subjected to unimaginable torture. Many people have been

A chunk of which, of course, included Black Site abductions and torture. As if this
wasn t enough to prove the use of illegal interrogation methods, former president
Bush admitted the existence of the fabled black site locations. Attempting to
reconcile his mistake, he attempted to assure the public that no illegal methods of
questioning are used. If it was all perfectly legal, why lie in the first place? The only
reason to lie would be admitting to these accusations would result in violating the
Geneva Conventions. The Geneva Conventions are an agreement, signed in 1864,
that strictly prohibits the use of inhuman tactics to extract information. Violating such
an act would, without a doubt, invoke the wrath of the United Nations. Still, with
the governments continued denial, people have come forward giving their first
hand account of their illegal abduction. One of the brave survivors was Mr.
Mohamed Farag Bashmilah. In 2003 Mr. Bashmilah flew from Indonesia to Jordan
to visit his sick mother. Upon arrival in Amman Jordan, Mohamed s passport was
seized. The officials questioned his passport, not believing that he had gotten it
replaced. He was told to visit the Jordanian GID, or General Intelligence Department.
Upon revealing he had visited Afghanistan three years ago, the Jordanian intelligence
department placed him under arrest. For the next four nights and five days, he was

52. My Aphorism
My aphorism is hold tight to your roots but be open to the future. This is aphorism
really relates to me and what I believe in. It shows the importance of knowing who
you are but also being open to new things to come in the future. Holding tight to
your roots means remembering where you came from and what standards and
ideals are important to you. In my aphorism when I say be open to the future it
means being open to new ways of thinking and change later on in your life. My
aphorism means remembering who you are but not letting that hold you back in
the future. My aphorism is important because it tells you to remember who you are,
where you came from, and to remember the ideals and standards that you have.
Also, be open to other ideas or things happening in your life in the future. To me
my aphorism means holding on to my ideals and standards and knowing where I
came from. Even later on in life towards the future I will always remember who I
am but be open to new things that are to come. My aphorism shapes and effects my
decisions because when I make my decisions I remember who I am and my
standards. I also know to be open to new things in life and new ways of thinking.
The aphorism I have chosen has helped me to not be so stubborn. It has also helped
me to be more open to change. My aphorism can help an individual because anyone
can relate to it. Everyone has roots. Most people have a specific set of standards that
they try to live by. My aphorism can also help by showing people what they already
know but then expounding on that ideain the future. The good that people can find
in my aphorism is the fact that it can relate to anybody s life. In my aphorism it
talks about remembering who you are and where you came from but still being
open to new things life. The good that it shows is remembering who you are but
being open to the future to come. The effect of ignoring my aphorism is not being
able to be open to new ideas and ways of thinking in the future. Not being able to
remember your roots and where you came from. You lose your identity and who you
really truly are. Society would benefit from living by my aphorism because it would
show society to remember who they are and their
53. Leadership Theory, Leadership, And Leadership Theories
Leadership is the action taken to inspire and motivate followers through guiding,
coaching, and mentoring. It encompasses dedication to followers, which fosters trust
and commitment to the organization. Leadership is also an integral organizational
role that serves to unify the team, towards a common goal and a shared vision
(Northouse, 2013). Additionally, Kotter (2001) indicates that the leader is essential to
effect organizational change. Hence, change is the specific action that the leader is
responsible for. Greanleaf (2008) further identifies the dedicated leader primarily as a
servant. Given this definition, it leads us to a more in depth conversation, concerning
the leadershiptheories. It is important to study leadership theories, because they
provide a greater understanding of the leader s influence within an organization.
Because of the unlimited variety, I must narrow these to the three most influential
theories that have influenced my leadership philosophy. With this in mind, we will
further the discuss transformational leadership, servant leadership, and authentic
leadership theories. Primarily, transformational leadership is primarily focused on the
charismatic aspects of the leader. Equally important are it s characteristics of change
and transformation because followers become motivated to transcend their own self
interests for the good of the group or organization (Bass Avolio, 1990a, as cited in
Northouse, 2013, p. 194). Transformational
