How To Change Piano Hammers
Things You ll Need Calipers Yellow carpenters glue Changing piano hammers is necessary when the
felt on them erodes and the piano loses its soft sound. This requires several tools and a certain degree
of expertise to complete the process properly. If you must do more than simply replacing the
hammers, such as drilling and creating the hammer on your own, it is better to hire a professional.
Otherwise, simply replacing the hammer can be done by most people, with the right tools. Step 1
Remove one of the hammers from the grid, by applying heat to the base of the hammer to loosen the
glue. Bring it to your local music store, and ask them to measure it and order a set of replacement
hammers. The hammer is measured with calipers, from one end

Variable Frequency Electrical System in Conventional Aircraft
Introduction: Traditionally conventional aircraft uses the secondary power system of electric,
pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical power transfer system. Increasing demand of more advance
electrical system in aircraft industries has refined the electronic power, fault control actuator systems
into a new level. To reinforce the technological progress of an aircraft electrical system, the concept of
More Electric Aircraft (MEA) has been introduced in the electrical system of the aircraft by replacing
non electrical power in the aircraft with electricity. (Corcau. J.I., Dinca. L., 2012) As flight systems
advances, new power generation is necessary which should be able to provide high quality power
generation, and solution might be Variable Frequency electrical system. The Variable frequency is
generated with the power of the perfect sine wave and no harmonic distortion. This type of Variable
Frequency is generated from a generator with a 3 stage brushless with the variable speed and
generates the frequency from 360 800Hz with an output voltage of 200V. (Fadil. R.A., Eid. A., Salam.
M. A.,2013) Argument For: Variable frequency is one of the reliable and recent innovation electrical
power systems in aircraft industry. It is one of the simplest forms of generating power, cheapest and
the most reliable. The voltage that is generated from variable generators also effects on subsystems
like motors and controllers. It is also known as wild frequency. In Variable

Racial Disparity In Traffic Stops
The source I used for the popular news piece is a newspaper article from the Wall Street Journal and
the author of this piece is Joseph De Avila. This article talks about a Connecticut study that finds racial
disparity within traffic stops. The report was investigated by the Institute for Municipal and Regional
Policy at Central Connecticut State University. This particular study was done using 620,000 traffic
stops that were done by the local police departments and state police in Connecticut, which was done
over a 12 month period. The three research questions that were answered in this research were when
the traffic stops took place as well as specific time periods they occured, who was pulled over and if
they were searched, as well as if

Anecdotal Evidence And Its Impact On The Progress And...
Anecdotal evidence is collected in a casual or informal manner and relies heavily or entirely on
personal testimony. When compared to other types of evidence, anecdotal evidence is generally
regarded as of limited value to a number of potential weaknesses unless documentation and/or
statistical evidence is maintained. Anecdotal evidence is sometimes considered within the scope of
scientific method. For example the use of case studies in medicine rely on anecdotal evidence, because
some anecdotal evidence can be both empirical and verifiable. This applies also to education.
Our assertion, particularly when dealing with students and parents, is that anecdotal information,
gleaned from conversation, oral reporting and similar, generally provides far more effective feedback
on the progress and development of the student, delineates learning concerns more concisely and
allows constructive consideration of possible resolutions.
Education has a new push to fully embrace data as the pivot for program delivery but there is
significant danger when there is misapplication or misunderstanding regarding the value of the data.
Currently, it is hard to attend an education conference or read an education magazine without
encountering broad claims for data based decision making and research based practice convenient
buzzwords that obscure rather than clarify, to justify incoherent and glib new proposals or courses of
action.
The embrace of data has stampeded us directly from resistance to

Patricia Donovan Deliver Her Summary
A Review of Deliver Her by Patricia Perry Donovan
In her introductory novel, Deliver Her, Patricia Perry Donovan turns the page in her writing career,
moving from journals and a concentration on non fiction to something more creative and in novel
form. As the back cover of the book highlights, this composition is about A daughter s grief. A mother
s desperation. An endless highway of deception. This book is easy to follow and not only entertains
but also leaves the reader with food for thought at the very end.
The author s audience is also clear from the back cover description and is sure to include mothers and
adolescent daughters alike. Some additional readers this novel would likely appeal to include those
struggling with grief over losing a loved one and people encountering or enabling addiction. It is
likely the audience will find the primary characters very easy to empathize with. They include the
mother, Meg, daughter, Alex, and Carl, a man the mother hires to Deliver Her daughter to Birches, a
remote, alternative type school intended on resetting the path of troubled youth. Alex s troubles began
on the night of her 16th birthday party when her friend Cass dies in a car accident involving their
mutual friend, Shana and Shana s brother, Logan, who was driving. One theme that ... Show more

In addition to the purple scarf theme carried throughout there are incredibly cryptic song lyrics
included from some hippie band called The Amphibians that she interweaves from chapter to chapter.
These lyrics are multi purpose as the roots of love between Jacob and his daughter, a connecting point
between Alex and Carl, who is also a Phibs fan, and a definite commonality between Alex and Cass.
The two young friends even adopt Happy Corner names, Cass moonlighting as Blossom Jade

An Exploration of Genes and Inheritance Essay
An Exploration of Genes and Inheritance
One of the first questions people ask when someone in their family is diagnosed with diabetes is
whether or not their other family members will get diabetes. So it s no surprise that research into the
question of inheritance was among the earliest aspects of diabetes to be funded by Diabets UK back in
the early 1950s. Genes can be described as the set of biological instructions we inherit from our
parents. These instructions will determine how our bodies look and work and how they react to the
environment. Since the 1950s, our understanding of the role played by inheritance in chronic
conditions such as diabetes has been radically transformed by the ... Show more content on

To make proteins, parts of the DNA double helix unzip, leaving the chemical bases along the helix
unpaired. These single bases then pair up with other chemical bases within the cell to produce new
versions of the DNA, called RNA. This RNA can travel out of the nucleus and into the main body of
the cell, where it organises amino acids into the correct order to produce particular proteins. This is the
process underlying the way we grow, and the way our bodies respond to the world around us how we
digest food, how we produce energy and so on.
The benefit of genetic research
New technology has sped up the search for new genes enormously. Even so, checking each possible
gene region takes several months. The process is painstaking and the possibility of gene therapy the
holy grail of genetic research, by which defective genes might eventually be corrected still lies some
way in the future. In the meantime, exploring the genetic causes of diabetes is increasing our
understanding of how the condition arises and opens up new avenues of research to possible therapies.
Diabetes UK is also funding research investigating possible links between genes and susceptibility to
diabetic complications. For some, genetic research into diabetes has already had important
consequences for their diabetes. The discovery of the genes for the rare monogenic

A Good Friend In A Diamond Guitar By Truman Capote
Unwavering trust and the heart to love another person as they would their brother is a key aspect of A
Diamond Guitar . In A Diamond Guitar by Truman Capote, there is a man named Mr. Schaeffer who is
the ideal good friend. He has been sentenced ninety plus years in a work farm for committing murder.
After serving about seventeen years in the work farm a new inmate named Tico Feo, a foreigner from
Cuba, arrived in the work farm. Throughout the story, both characters lives are visualized through the
perspective of Mr. Schaeffer himself. Both of them end up bonding and connecting their lives in the
restricted space of the work farm. Mr. Schaeffer is a good friend because of how he treats Tico Feo as
if he were his own brother, keeps his feelings in mind, and gives things to him without asking for
anything back. One of Mr. Schaeffer s ways of being a good friend was how he gave stuff to Tico Feo
without asking for anything in return. Neither of them had a past together and their relationship is very
unique because of how connected they became throughout the story. Amongst one of the first
encounters between Tico Feo and Mr. Schaeffer, they were having a conversation about Tico Feo s
guitar and sisters. In which Tico Feo ended up bringing up the fact that his sisters used to have dolls
like the one Mr. Schaeffer had. Tico Feo was very blatant about wanting the doll and Mr. Schaeffer
had no incentive to give him the doll. But, The next evening Mr. Schaeffer brought him the

Infections In Wound Care Research Paper
Infections are a significant problem in many medical and environmental situations. These infections
are caused by an array of different microorganisms including bacteria, protozoa, fungi, yeasts, and
viruses. The prevention of infections, and reduction or elimination of an infection once it is
established is of importance,6 particularly in the area of skin and wound care. Environments that
increase a patient s risk to infection include the surfaces of objects (internally and externally), fluids
and fluid conduits. In healthcare, infections lead to longer hospital stays for patients and increased
hospital costs. Even worse, a large number of patient deaths are attributed to infections.

Rural Community Assessment
Rural areas are disappearing as we know it. With the population raising villages becoming towns and
towns becoming cities. With rural, it is described as a place that has more of an countryside than a
town. Evening technical is a population that has less than 2,500 people in that location, anything over
2,500 is considered urban. The town that I pick is Tampico village located in Illinois. The town is rural
with only 790 people. With the rural urban continuum classification, this village would be considered
non metro area due to the fact that it is not adjacent to an area with a population less than 19,999.
Then with the rural influence codes, it would be classification as a non core adjacent to a micro area
and contains a town of at least 2,500 residents. Now between the two different classifications, the rural
influence codes measure the ruralness of this town.
Sense 2010 the population of this town was at 790. After the past 6 years after that in 2016, the
population has decreased to 621. This is a total decrease of 169 over the last 6 years. It has also had a

Oppositional Defiant Disorder In Jacob s Case
Conduct disorder may be diagnosed whenever a child or adolescent seriously misbehaves by using
aggressive or non aggressive conduct against other individuals, property, or animals. This behavior
may be characterized as destructive, threatening, deceitful, belligerent, dishonest, physically cruel, or
disobedient. Among these behaviors one may find stealing, causing intentional injury, or forced sexual
activity. The behavioral disorder does not consist of an isolated incident, but rather of a pattern of
severe and repetitive behavior. However, in Jacob s case there are signs of Oppositional Defiant
Disorder. This disorder presents a long lasting pattern of hostile, defiant, negativistic behavior found

The individual with oppositional defiant disorder will easily lose his temper; is regularly defiant or
refuses to comply with the rules or requests set by adults; often argues with adults; usually and
deliberately bothers people; will blame everyone else for their behavior and mistakes; is generally
angry, resentful, spiteful or vindictive; and is often touchy or easily annoyed by the actions or
inactions of others. The diagnosis for oppositional defiant disorder is considered only when the
behavior occurs more frequently than it is usually observed in individuals of a comparable
developmental level and similar age. The conduct of the adolescent and the conflicts he may have with
adults will vary from the inevitable clash that may exist between teenagers and parents/authority
figures. While normal conflict or rebellion may be a temporary or isolated incident, oppositional
defiant disorder occurs when such conflict becomes severe and out of control. Moreover, in order for
the diagnosis to be made, this disturbing behavior must cause significant issues at the personal,
academic, professional, and social levels. Oppositional defiant disorder shouldn t be diagnosed if the
medical professional suspects that the behavior is being directly caused by another psychological
disorder such

The Father Of String Quartets
Known primarily as the father of string quartets , Joseph Haydn played an extremely important role in
the development of the string quartet. When the composer first arrived on the scene, the usual name
given to a string quartet composition was actually considered a divertimento . This title was a general
term to describe any one on a part type instrumental music that was compatible with a variety of
different music scorings, styles and character. It wasn t until about 1780 that modern titles/terms such
as the quartet and quintet become common for serious chamber music in the now standard scoring.
(Eisen, Grove, String Quartet ) This change of terminology that happens during Haydn s career does
not imply that there was nothing serious being performed on strings prior to terminology change. In
fact, examples of serious works can be found during Haydn s op.9 (1769 70) early divertimentos, with
a cello playing the bass line. This serious work of Haydn also incorporated a new idea within the
world of string quartets, a four movement scheme. Throughout the four movements the textures were
varied, having moments of a possible elaborated homophonic trio sonata style , paired with a more
contrapuntal polyphonic style.
Another characteristic that encouraged stylistic growth were the various fugal moments being
introduced throughout string quartet music during this time. The Viennese set k168 73 (1773) by
Mozart illustrates an irregular phrase construction,

Analysis Of Colonialist Discourse And Its Effects On...
Colonialist discourse was built off of the idea of otherness , the notion that were 2 types of people, one
s that were advanced and one s that were not, One of the root meanings of pagan is peasant. This
suggests that Christianity was the umbrella for a wider set of meanings that there was a difference
between Christians and heathens . Though this discourse is often not used today, it has caused massive
effects on countries underdeveloped through colonial rule. Haiti is one of these locations. Called the

routinely referred to as the poorest nation in the Western hemisphere. Haiti s state has been engineered

it is a recurring theme of the country s more than 200 years of existence. The world powers have

After the success of the Haitian Revolution in 1804, the colonial powers of decided that an
independent Haiti would pose a threat to the entire system of slavery and colonialism in the Americas.
After their numerous attempts to recolonize through military force failed, the major global powers of
the time: France and England, put aside their colonial rivalries in a determined effort to destroy the

Government Dishonesty In The United States
The history of the United States is one of mixed virtue. We have a republican form of government in
which congressmen are directly elected by the people and the president is indirectly elected by the
people. We also have a higher standard of living than many nations. But this does not make our history
a cleanly pristine one considering the institution of slavery, a lack of civil rights for minorities, and the
denial of women s suffrage, that were once a part of this nation s existence. In defense, America has
worked to right the aforesaid wrongs in order build a better nation. This is the positive direction that
we have historically gone in, but more can be done. Governmental dishonesty is a problem that has
notably occurred in the last few decades. Watergate, the Iran Contra Affair, No new taxes empty
promises, Clinton s Lewinski Affair, and some of the faulty evidence used to justify the 2003 Iraq War,
should set off an alarm in the American people convincing them that something needs to be done in
order to curb governmental dishonesty. But how can we require officials to be honest with the people
when there is a right to free speech provided by the first amendment? We can establish a constitutional
amendment requiring that all elected and appointed governmental officials, and those running for an
elected office, are intellectually honest to the best of their ability in their arguments when addressing

The Things They Carried written by Tim O’Brien
A Corrupted Moral In works such as the novel The Things They Carried written by Tim O Brien and
the movie Full Metal Jacket directed by Stanley Kubrick, we see the hardships soldiers had to pass
through during training and the Vietnam War. As it is stated in O Brien s book They carried all the
emotional baggage of men who might die. Grief, terror, love, longing these were intangibles, but the
intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had a tangible weight (O Brien 20). After
stating all of the things they actually carried O Brien makes reference to them carrying emotional
weight, to let the reader know that there was more to the war than fighting. They had other reasons to
be there, such not wanting to be titled as cowards for not enlisting themselves in the war. In Full Metal
Jacket the emotional weight they have on themselves is also visible throughout the whole movie. The
emotional burden caused some of the soldiers such as Private Leonard Lawrence to enlist in the
training although he clearly was unfit for the job. This resulted in an amazing turn of events since due
to intrinsic motivation to not be the source of everyone s laugh, he becomes someone completely
different. At the end of the first part of the movie Pvt. Lawrence was no longer that unfit soldier we
see at the beginning, he had changed to be a vicious person with a death wish. In both works we see
the physical and emotional struggles soldiers had to undergo causing them to develop an

Separate Peace Theme
Law and order is a synonym for peace; however often to obtain peace law and order must be broken.
Though this is true, peace is not all encompassing. Not only can peace can be found in some parts of
life and lacking in others, but peace has many types that affect each part of daily life. A Separate Peace
by John Knowles explores the relationship between external and internal peace. When external
societal peace is disrupted people become willing to commit a kind of suicide by breaking the rules in
an effort to obtain inner peace. Daily life is heavily affected by different forms of peace. External
societal peace, is the peace that is not in an individual s control. For example, war, conflicts in
relationships, and random acts of violence are $$#Break#$$ Many rules that people are forced to
follow violate their own personal values and morals. As a result, when external peace is disrupted
people decide that it is alright to add to the disruption if their values would be upheld through doing
so. The text states, Phineas didn t really dislike West Point in particular or authority in general, but just
considered authority the necessary evil against which happiness was achieved by reaction, the
backboard which returned all the insults he threw at it (11). This quote contradicts the statement that
breaking the rules can enable someone to obtain inner peace because it states that authority returns
some sort of punishment any time you break the rules. This is true, and therefore supports the idea that
breaking the rules is a kind of suicide. In some cases the suicide can be literal. For example, Phineas
insists on jumping off the tree everyday to cope with the war. Surviving the jump everyday causes him
to achieve inner peace because it is a way of getting over his fear of going to the war. This is a literal
suicide because as shown later in the book the jump from the tree is very dangerous and ultimately
killed him. Breaking the rules can also be a metaphorical suicide because even though internal peace
is being met it causes other external peace to be disrupted. According to Merriam Webster dictionary,
the definition of suicide it the act of taking one s own life voluntarily as well as the ruin of one s own
interests. Gene breaks the rules and goes to the beach with Phineas for a night. This is a metaphorical;
kind of suicide because it is against his own interests when he fails his test the next day. Overall, this
illustrates how breaking the rules leads to a kind of

environment around us has a powerful influence on the decisions that we produce and the views that
we as American citizens choose to hold. After a semester in political science class my views and my
political ideology have altered. Today I will explain how political science class has influenced my
political ideology.
When this class initially began I was sure, without a doubt I was a conservative. As the semester

with our taxes; however with changes in the social programs the American peoples taxes can be

As a conservative, I still feel that the social class of the individual greatly affects the political ideology
that they have chosen. I have analyzed, that the education of the individual has a great deal of affect
on the political party of their choice. Most liberals are only against conservatives due to medias bad
review of conservatives. The media can affect our lives tremendously if we believe what they have to

therefore education is one of the leading issues many Americans feel strongly about today. As I stated

Others argue that the changes seen within a society during the time of revolution are short lived and
often times forgotten within a matter of years. Despite these two differing arguments over the exact
meaning of the term revolution one thing remains constant. At the heart of any definition of revolution
the word change can be found. For example, Samuel Huntington defines revolution as rapid,
fundamental, and violent domestic change in the dominant values, myths, political institutions, social
structure, leadership, government activity, and politics. (Booth 117) On the other hand, Theda Skocpol
defines revolution as rapid, basic transformations of a society s state and class structure, accompanied
by and in part accomplished through popular revolts from below. (Booth 117) Finally, Eric Selbin
argues that revolution and its social transformation are more likely where popular rebellion has
cultural roots and precedents. (Booth 117) The Sandinista Revolution in the early 1970 s provides a
perfect example in regards to the transformation of society that each one of these definitions promises.
However, in order to determine which definition of the term revolution most accurately describes the
Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua two key questions must be analyzed. First, it must be determined

The Black People Of America
Dear black people of America since a young age I ve learned that I had to assimilate to two separate

However being african has also taught me that africans ridicule black americans as well for traits they

Analysis Of The Poem Before You Were Mine By Carol...
The poems Before you were mine by Carol Anne Duffy and Mother any distance greater than a single
span by Simon Armitage, reflect on what it means to raise a child in the world. In before you were
mine , Anne Duffy shows how things change when you have child where as in mother any distance
greater than a single span Simon Armitage shows how hard it is to let go of your child. Duffy and
Armitage represent different parent child relationships. Ann Duffy s poem is about a relationship
between a mother and daughter. In Before you were mine , Duffy perceives her mother when she was
young and how things have changed since she had her child. The poet has a feeling of regret and
thinks its her fault that her mother lost some of her energy and being that bold girl winking in
Portobello . Duffy wishes her mother still lived a fun life even after she was born. Whereas in Simon
Armitage s poem, the mother struggle to let go of the son. Armitage writes that his mother s fingertips
still pinch the pinch meaning she cannot bear to let her son go which creates tension because the son
doesn t feel the same way. The poets are able to show how different kinds of parent child relationships
can reflect on how they feel about one another in the world. Duffy builds picture of her mother and
friends when she says on the corner you laugh on and her mother wearing a polka dot dress and then
mentions blows round your legs . Marilyne . The word Marilyne shows that the mother

This natural ability paired with his or her training will make them competent to handle crisis.
Incidentally, there will also be those who pursue the human service paraprofessional career field for
the wrong reasons and they will not be able to be affective while assisting those in crisis. These
individuals could potentially cause more harm than good for the client or clients in crisis. This
especially applies in the case of suicide. The following quote supports this idea. Suicide does not
generally come without warning. Almost always, persons considering it show symptoms or provide
clues to their intent. It is important, however, for crisis workers to know how to read these and be able
to distinguish between myth and reality. (Kanel, 2003, p. 76) Trend Challenges Ineffective workers
exist in every career field. The difference may be that with a paraprofessional opportunity people may
view it as a quick fix for a good job. These types of workers are hard to identify until he or she begins
working directly with clients. At this point it may be hard or even impossible to identify and intervene
on possible ineffective approaches used by the paraprofessional. During crisis, there will likely not be
a second chance at proper intervention. Paraprofessionals will likely have direct supervision from
professional clinicians. This will help ensure the quality of services being rendered as well as a

The Core Values Of Elefteria
Name Elefteria
The word Elefteria is based off the Greek word for freedom. The name is fitting because that is what
people in Elefteria are given. Elefteria stresses the importance of the individual having the freedom to
choose their own path.
Government
Elefteria has a 3 part government and is a mix between a democracy and monarchy. The 3 parts are the
royal family, 400 representatives of the people, and 100 Calnata representatives, the technological
business that has provided the island with useful technology for the improvement of everyday life.
The seats are passed throughout the family in the royal family and company, which makes it a
monarchy, but everything is fair. All the people who receive the seats are worthy of it. The
representatives of the people and Calnata have been taught and raised with the core values of Elefteria
so that they can properly govern the island. If their rule is unjust, the ... Show more content on

them gain the abilities to work at their dream job.
Technology s Role
Technology is an important part of Elefteria. Calnata, the big technological company, turns CO2 waste
into usable energy, which powers the island. Also, Elefteria provides free public transportation from
village to village (inhabitants can walk or bike to places within their village). Technology, namely
robots, can do jobs that are undesirable to humans, and there is a technological army for the protection

Pop culture in the 1950s can be summed as culture in the 1950s. Cold war baby boomers Korea red

moving to suburbs and babies were being born because soldiers were returning home. After World War

nothing but peace and success. Much of this increase came from government spending: The

Art Gallery At The Powerhouse Museum And The First Emperor...
The 21st century has seen a dramatic increase in the challenges facing cultural institutions, particularly
museums. One of the most pressing issues currently facing museums worldwide is the diminishing
level of government support. Despite reductions in government funding, the sustained maintenance of
museum collections and facilities continues to require substantial resources. In the face of such
difficulties, a growing number of museums have turned to innovative programming, specifically
exhibitions, as a way to ensure financial viability through increased attendance. Given the growing
competition for consumer leisure time in today s society, attention has shifted away from traditional
scholarly collection based exhibitions, towards the populist exhibition format offered by blockbuster
exhibitions. Through a discussion of Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and
the First Emperor: China s Entombed Warriors at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this essay will
examine the two approaches museums are taking to the blockbuster model. It will be argued that
although exhibitions reflecting popular culture are becoming increasingly more common, there are
institutions that manage to reflect popular taste in ways that continue to advance scholarship and
create opportunities for lifelong learning.
Museological literature offers many definitions of the blockbuster exhibition. According to Elsen, a
blockbuster is a large scale loan exhibition which people who

The Transfer Of Property For Non Recognition Treatment
Facts
Bob and Carl transferred property to Stone Corporation in exchange for 90% and 10%, respectively, of
Stone stock. Bob then sells half of his Stone stock to Carl, pursuant to a binding agreement between
the two of them. We have been asked whether or not this transfer of property for Stone meets the Sec.
351 control requirement for non recognition treatment.
Issues
To determine whether the transfer of property meets the Sec. 351 control requirements, the
requirements under Section 351(a) will have to be met. Had Bob not transferred half of his stock to
Carl pursuant to the binding agreement, he would meet the requirements. To determine whether or not
Bob still meets the Sec. 351 control requirement for non recognition treatment, a further look at
Section 351 and Reg. Sec. 1.351 1 will have to be taken to determine whether or not the sale of his
stock to Carl still qualifies Bob s transfer of property for non recognition treatment.
Law
Under Section 351(a), the transfer of property to a corporation is nontaxable only if the transferors
control the corporation immediately after the exchange; control is defined as being 80% of the
corporations voting stock. Reg. Sec. 1.351 1(a) further outlines the requirements for an 80% control
test, but does not mention of provide any further insight on whether the prearranged binding
agreement which had Bob sell half of his stock to Carl will meet the control requirements. There are 2

The Perspective On Income And Privilege Essay
I agree with the interactionist perspective. Certain races or ethnicities are advantageous when
obtaining power and privilege. For example, White households have a higher income than non White
Hispanics or Blacks. The data provided on page 82 illustrates the income gap, Black household had
the lowest median income in 2013 ($34,598), non Hispanic White households ($58,270). Median
income for Hispanic households was $40,963 (Leon Guerrero 2016). This data obtained from the U.S.
Census reveals there are differences in income and wealth depending on race. Employment is also
important when discussing wealth. According to the textbook, Blacks and Hispanics have not been
able to achieve the same earnings of level of wealth as White Americans have (Leon Guerrero 2016).
One of the consequences of wealth disparity is lower access of home ownership. As a result of race or
ethnicity people have limited housing options. Leon Guerrero says, Minority groups have been denied
similar access because of structural barriers such as discrimination, low income, and lack of credit
access (2016). This results in a large home ownership gap which allows Whites to own their home as
opposed to the minorities who are denied credit and cannot purchase a home of their choice. Lower
aces to health care and the quality of care once in the system for minority groups are examples of
privilege and power. Depending on race, minorities have less medical care coverage as opposed to non

memories are required to be recorded for the sake of mankind. Memories are valuable in the fact that
they can be lost so easily and forgotten that they ever existed. There are things that you have said,

model is effective in preventing roadblocks to achieve success. We will also offer recommendations of
our overall analysis in order to determine if improvement is needed and how to implement change
when presented to us. In order to enact this model and to make it effective there are certain factors that
need to be considered. Groups need to exert enough joint effort in order to accomplish tasks at
acceptable levels of performance. Every member of the group has to offer the adequate skills and

North and South Korea, which have technically been at war for the last 65 years, are again acting like
it. (npr.org) They ve always been fighting each other, and this is another one of their battles. It all
started when there was an explosive from landmines in the DMZ, which is the sort of de facto border
that separates North and South Korea, which injured two South Korean soldiers that the South has
blamed on North Korea but, of course, North Korea has not apologized for. (npr.org) That angered
South Korea which lead them to start anti North propaganda broadcasting through loudspeakers.
Consequently, both sides have been arguing at the DMZ. Then, everything was settled when both sides
made an agreement; however, no one really knows what Kim Jong Un will do. As a result, the United
States are hesitant, so the top U.S. commanders reviewed the U.S. war plan for defending South Korea

Social Norms Of Social Identity
Social identities have a lot of significance on people s lives today. People have adopted these norms of
behaviors, the values and beliefs which come along with social identities. Various groups within the
society have different expectations and standards of behavior which are now seen as a completely
natural thing rather than just beliefs. There are different norms of social identities which include the
race/ethnicity, religion, class, gender and sexuality. This paper will focus more on the class and gender
social identities.
In my culture, the main two social identities which are considered the most are gender and class. They
highly contribute on how different categories of people are perceived in the society and this
determines the how people relate in the society. Looking at gender, people believe that the difference
in gender is connected to different responsibilities. The way ladies are treated is different from the way
men are treated in the society. This is according to what people strongly believe about gender
difference and as a result, different people are valued differently in different situations. Not only that,
there are also different expectations from each gender. Looking at the responsibilities aspect, there are
jobs which are considered to be suitable for men while others are seen to be suitable for women. This
is not because the women cannot do the jobs which are perceived to be suitable for men, bit it is
simply because these jobs are perceived to be manly. For instance, most of engineering jobs are said to

Summary Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelly
Fallacious by Description There is a mystery that consumes all when it comes to understanding life
itself. This has led to several theories to explain mans troubling thoughts and wonders. People are
used to having an answer to everything; however, some things will never be fully explained. Even
when reading The Bible, Qur an, or The Tanakh; some of the things they teach are still vague and do
not quite have the answers to everything. In a lot of ways people go to these readings for comfort and
guidance, as seen in Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Yet, they also shape these beliefs to form an idea as
to how man acts and how he should respond to the world around him. The sculpting of mankind has
created a danger that is almost apathetic to humanities mind. When messing with the secrets of nature
there are situations that can be led to horrendous insinuations when taking the power to create a life
out of something already lifeless and a product of corruption, and trying to make it perfect. The idea or
nature of a monster during the time of 1818 was seen primarily as unconventionality from what
humanity saw as normal. It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it
was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that
occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical
secrets of the world (Shelley, 34). This explains Victor s obsession over

Comparing The Characters Of Charles Portis Novel True Grit
A Journey in Courage: Characters of True Grit Very few people have unyielding courage in the face of
hardship or danger (Merriam Webster). Charles Portis uses this concept of grit to create interesting
characters that influence events his novel True Grit. Mattie Ross, LaBeouf, and Rooster Cogburn are a
few characters that display true courage through their actions and dialogue. Mattie s assertive and
stubborn personality contribute to her grit, which creates new challenges she overcomes. In the novel,
she discusses debatable ideas with other characters and appears convincing through her confidence
and certainty. Mattie s exchange with Stonehill well reveals her unyielding courage despite her
opponent s anger and persistence towards her. When the businessman declares Mattie impudent, she
replies I do not wish to be, sir, but I will not be pushed about when I am in the right (Portis 32). Mattie

Mothers are the ones who have been chosen to keep the growth of humanity. They are the ones who

populations and eras have changed through time, mothers are and will always be the core of any

The Odyssey
The Odyssey
In Homer s epic, The Odyssey, each culture treats strangers and guests with distinct differences from
every other culture. One of the most hospitable cultures was that of the ancient Greeks, exemplified in
Homer s The Odyssey by both gracious hosts and guests. In Greece and The Odyssey, not only was
good hospitality etiquette expected, but the added pressure that if they didn t treat their guests with
respect the gods would punish them further compelled excellent manners. The Odyssey illustrates the
proper etiquette when dealing with guests. In Homer s ancient Greece their are many steps that a host

As a guest, Odysseus is very selfish and inconsiderate towards his hosts. Throughout the duration of
Odysseus absence, the suitors are treated well, and in response to this, they refuse to leave when
asked. The suitors are fed and housed, and after a number of years they overstay their welcome. In
response to this Telemachus, prompted by Athena, informs the suitors that his father is returning home
and they are all to vacate Odysseus home. The suitors, in turn, ignore him and continue to eat drink
and be merry, at the cost of Telemachus and Penelope s household. What are the consequences of
these actions taken by the suitors? Although the primary consequence is their death, they also lose the
hand of Penelope. None of them are able to pass the test of stringing the bow of Odysseus except
Odysseus himself. This is followed by the main consequence of the suitors execution at the hands of
Odysseus and Telemachus. By not respecting the hospitality given by Penelope, they set the stage for
their own deaths. This is quite possibly a reference to the fact that they saw hospitality as a way to
honor the gods; giving hospitality to a stranger was the same as offering it to a god. Zeus being the
god of hospitality, one of the primary ways to worship this aspect of Zeus godliness was to be
hospitable to strangers and travelers. A

The Problem Of Homeless Heroin Injectors For A 10 Year Period
The public rarely pays close attention to homeless people on the streets. There is one kind of
homelessness that have dedicated their lives to heroin; these people call themselves righteous
dopefiends . Philippe Bourgois and Jeff Schonberg became part of the daily lives of these homeless
heroin injectors for a 10 year period in Edgewater Boulevard. Through various interviews with the
addicts, we came to find out their shocking personal histories that led to their addiction and
homelessness. These Edgewater homeless came from different ethnic backgrounds, however, they
shared two common things; all of them were homeless and were addicted to heroin. They lived in
dead end alleyways, storage lots, vacant factories, defective cars, and highway embankments (4). The
reason they labelled themselves as righteous dopefiends was because believed they were worthy in
society, despite their actions. Going through ceaseless pain and anxiety of hunger, exposure, infectious
diseases was reasonable to them because of their commitment to heroin (5). Throughout my paper, it
will show that medication has an important implication in the lives of the homeless heroin injectors.
Moral expectations in the Edgewater drug community is based on sharing, fairness, and justice (6).

I m sorry, Walker. But you knew it would end this way. Your friends, dead. The world on fire. And
you... alone. By the time the credits roll at the end of the video game Spec Ops: The Line, Captain
Martin Walker is an utterly broken man. He stumbles about the city of Dubai in a hallucinatory trance,
looking for any reason to keep putting one foot before the other. Walker s descent into madness,
brought about by the atrocities he has wrought, is one of the most compelling character arcs to appear
in the shooter genre a class of video games usually associated with indifference to the horrors of war.
Spec Ops is therefore a highly subversive work of fiction. It manipulates conventions to show players
what they have missed, to inspire them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spec Ops is most directly a reaction to the Call of Duty series, an industry juggernaut that has come to
define the modern shooter. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the sixth entry in the series, is the
quintessential title of its genre. The game became a blueprint for shooters when it demonstrated how
an activity as morally dubious as killing could be used to ensnare audiences. On this subject, Kyle
Kontour writes, it is not merely the market that has become militarized, but the rhetoric of recruitment
has itself become integral to advertising these games purchasing and playing a commercial war game
becomes, according to its promotional material, an act of volunteering one s service (57). Kontour
argues that developers of shooters attempt to convince players that their actions are serving a greater
good, an unpleasant but vital end. Players come to believe that they can be entertained while
simultaneously providing a service albeit a virtual service for their country. This is the spirit behind
Activision s There s a Soldier in All of Us campaign. Everyone can be a soldier, they say everyone can
be a hero and fulfill their duties from the comfort of their living room. Thus, Activision transforms
killing from the problem to the

Rosalind Franklin In Photograph 51
Nicole Kidman, who plays pioneering British scientist Rosalind Franklin in the play Photograph 51,
says her role is her way of acknowledging her father s work, who passed away last year. Franklin was
the only woman involved in the discovery of DNA s double helix in 1953, but her work was only
recognized after her death, according to BBC. Kidman said that the final preview of the play, which is
Sept 12, happens to be the death anniversary of her father, Dr Antony Kidman. This is my way of
acknowledging him but also acknowledging the people in science who quietly do things and aren t
acknowledged a lot of the time, she said in London on Monday. He knew I was going to do this. I like
to think he ll still be somewhere offering support.

Cinematography In Arrival
Arrival, released in 2016 and directed by Charlie Villanueva, opens with a montage of a child s life
and early death. This montage appears to be a flashback that our protagonist experiences before the
events of the film. However, this introductory scene actually encourages the formation of a false
hypothesis, since the montage features events from the future, not the past. The primacy effect
strongly encourages the acceptance of this hypothesis, at least until the narration presents an
overwhelming amount of information to overturn it. Over the course of the film, the narration does in
fact present overwhelming information. However, it does so gradually by establishing a pattern of
redundant visions the protagonist, Louise, experiences. More ... Show more content on

The syuzhet reveals definitively that the opening sequence was a vision of the future rather than a
flashback. The first time the narration offers a little depth of knowledge of Louise is when she asks
Costello Who is this child? . That is the exact moment the plot reveals with absolute certainty that the
visions are not flashbacks. This is the first time Louise comments on her visions, unleashing the
slightest bit of depth of knowledge on her character. Costello immediately responds: Louise sees
future. Now the gaps begin to fill themselves quickly. Louise tries to explain to Weber that the weapon
the heptapods are trying to give humanity is their language, which causes whoever learns it to begin to
perceive time nonlinearly. Louise also begins to control these visions so she can receive vital
information from the future to save the day in the present. After the narration makes it obvious that
these visions are of the future, Louise stands in a field outside of the military base with Ian, when a
montage similar to the one at the beginning of the film plays. With the revelation of this montage s
true time frame, both primary enigmas have been answered, and the film can

  • 2. How To Change Piano Hammers Things You ll Need Calipers Yellow carpenters glue Changing piano hammers is necessary when the felt on them erodes and the piano loses its soft sound. This requires several tools and a certain degree of expertise to complete the process properly. If you must do more than simply replacing the hammers, such as drilling and creating the hammer on your own, it is better to hire a professional. Otherwise, simply replacing the hammer can be done by most people, with the right tools. Step 1 Remove one of the hammers from the grid, by applying heat to the base of the hammer to loosen the glue. Bring it to your local music store, and ask them to measure it and order a set of replacement hammers. The hammer is measured with calipers, from one end ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Variable Frequency Electrical System in Conventional Aircraft Introduction: Traditionally conventional aircraft uses the secondary power system of electric, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical power transfer system. Increasing demand of more advance electrical system in aircraft industries has refined the electronic power, fault control actuator systems into a new level. To reinforce the technological progress of an aircraft electrical system, the concept of More Electric Aircraft (MEA) has been introduced in the electrical system of the aircraft by replacing non electrical power in the aircraft with electricity. (Corcau. J.I., Dinca. L., 2012) As flight systems advances, new power generation is necessary which should be able to provide high quality power generation, and solution might be Variable Frequency electrical system. The Variable frequency is generated with the power of the perfect sine wave and no harmonic distortion. This type of Variable Frequency is generated from a generator with a 3 stage brushless with the variable speed and generates the frequency from 360 800Hz with an output voltage of 200V. (Fadil. R.A., Eid. A., Salam. M. A.,2013) Argument For: Variable frequency is one of the reliable and recent innovation electrical power systems in aircraft industry. It is one of the simplest forms of generating power, cheapest and the most reliable. The voltage that is generated from variable generators also effects on subsystems like motors and controllers. It is also known as wild frequency. In Variable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Racial Disparity In Traffic Stops The source I used for the popular news piece is a newspaper article from the Wall Street Journal and the author of this piece is Joseph De Avila. • 5. Anecdotal Evidence And Its Impact On The Progress And... Anecdotal evidence is collected in a casual or informal manner and relies heavily or entirely on personal testimony. When compared to other types of evidence, anecdotal evidence is generally regarded as of limited value to a number of potential weaknesses unless documentation and/or statistical evidence is maintained. Anecdotal evidence is sometimes considered within the scope of scientific method. For example the use of case studies in medicine rely on anecdotal evidence, because some anecdotal evidence can be both empirical and verifiable. This applies also to education. Our assertion, particularly when dealing with students and parents, is that anecdotal information, gleaned from conversation, oral reporting and similar, generally provides far more effective feedback on the progress and development of the student, delineates learning concerns more concisely and allows constructive consideration of possible resolutions. Education has a new push to fully embrace data as the pivot for program delivery but there is significant danger when there is misapplication or misunderstanding regarding the value of the data. Currently, it is hard to attend an education conference or read an education magazine without encountering broad claims for data based decision making and research based practice convenient buzzwords that obscure rather than clarify, to justify incoherent and glib new proposals or courses of action. Patricia Donovan Deliver Her Summary A Review of Deliver Her by Patricia Perry Donovan In her introductory novel, Deliver Her, Patricia Perry Donovan turns the page in her writing career, moving from journals and a concentration on non fiction to something more creative and in novel form. As the back cover of the book highlights, this composition is about A daughter s grief. A mother s desperation. An endless highway of deception. This book is easy to follow and not only entertains but also leaves the reader with food for thought at the very end. The author s audience is also clear from the back cover description and is sure to include mothers and adolescent daughters alike. Some additional readers this novel would likely appeal to include those struggling with grief over losing a loved one and people encountering or enabling addiction. It is likely the audience will find the primary characters very easy to empathize with. They include the mother, Meg, daughter, Alex, and Carl, a man the mother hires to Deliver Her daughter to Birches, a remote, alternative type school intended on resetting the path of troubled youth. An Exploration of Genes and Inheritance Essay An Exploration of Genes and Inheritance One of the first questions people ask when someone in their family is diagnosed with diabetes is whether or not their other family members will get diabetes. So it s no surprise that research into the question of inheritance was among the earliest aspects of diabetes to be funded by Diabets UK back in the early 1950s. Genes can be described as the set of biological instructions we inherit from our parents. These instructions will determine how our bodies look and work and how they react to the environment. To make proteins, parts of the DNA double helix unzip, leaving the chemical bases along the helix unpaired. These single bases then pair up with other chemical bases within the cell to produce new versions of the DNA, called RNA. This RNA can travel out of the nucleus and into the main body of the cell, where it organises amino acids into the correct order to produce particular proteins. This is the process underlying the way we grow, and the way our bodies respond to the world around us how we digest food, how we produce energy and so on. The benefit of genetic research New technology has sped up the search for new genes enormously. Even so, checking each possible gene region takes several months. The process is painstaking and the possibility of gene therapy the holy grail of genetic research, by which defective genes might eventually be corrected still lies some way in the future. In the meantime, exploring the genetic causes of diabetes is increasing our understanding of how the condition arises and opens up new avenues of research to possible therapies. In A Diamond Guitar by Truman Capote, there is a man named Mr. Schaeffer who is the ideal good friend. He has been sentenced ninety plus years in a work farm for committing murder. After serving about seventeen years in the work farm a new inmate named Tico Feo, a foreigner from Cuba, arrived in the work farm. Throughout the story, both characters lives are visualized through the perspective of Mr. Schaeffer himself. Both of them end up bonding and connecting their lives in the restricted space of the work farm. Mr. Schaeffer is a good friend because of how he treats Tico Feo as if he were his own brother, keeps his feelings in mind, and gives things to him without asking for anything back. One of Mr. Schaeffer s ways of being a good friend was how he gave stuff to Tico Feo without asking for anything in return. Neither of them had a past together and their relationship is very unique because of how connected they became throughout the story. Amongst one of the first encounters between Tico Feo and Mr. Schaeffer, they were having a conversation about Tico Feo s guitar and sisters. In which Tico Feo ended up bringing up the fact that his sisters used to have dolls like the one Mr. Schaeffer had. When the composer first arrived on the scene, the usual name given to a string quartet composition was actually considered a divertimento . This title was a general term to describe any one on a part type instrumental music that was compatible with a variety of different music scorings, styles and character. It wasn t until about 1780 that modern titles/terms such as the quartet and quintet become common for serious chamber music in the now standard scoring. (Eisen, Grove, String Quartet ) This change of terminology that happens during Haydn s career does not imply that there was nothing serious being performed on strings prior to terminology change. In fact, examples of serious works can be found during Haydn s op.9 (1769 70) early divertimentos, with a cello playing the bass line. This serious work of Haydn also incorporated a new idea within the world of string quartets, a four movement scheme. Throughout the four movements the textures were varied, having moments of a possible elaborated homophonic trio sonata style , paired with a more contrapuntal polyphonic style. Another characteristic that encouraged stylistic growth were the various fugal moments being introduced throughout string quartet music during this time. We have a republican form of government in which congressmen are directly elected by the people and the president is indirectly elected by the people. We also have a higher standard of living than many nations. But this does not make our history a cleanly pristine one considering the institution of slavery, a lack of civil rights for minorities, and the denial of women s suffrage, that were once a part of this nation s existence. In defense, America has worked to right the aforesaid wrongs in order build a better nation. This is the positive direction that we have historically gone in, but more can be done. Governmental dishonesty is a problem that has notably occurred in the last few decades. Watergate, the Iran Contra Affair, No new taxes empty promises, Clinton s Lewinski Affair, and some of the faulty evidence used to justify the 2003 Iraq War, should set off an alarm in the American people convincing them that something needs to be done in order to curb governmental dishonesty. Grief, terror, love, longing these were intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had a tangible weight (O Brien 20). After stating all of the things they actually carried O Brien makes reference to them carrying emotional weight, to let the reader know that there was more to the war than fighting. They had other reasons to be there, such not wanting to be titled as cowards for not enlisting themselves in the war. In Full Metal Jacket the emotional weight they have on themselves is also visible throughout the whole movie. The emotional burden caused some of the soldiers such as Private Leonard Lawrence to enlist in the training although he clearly was unfit for the job. This resulted in an amazing turn of events since due to intrinsic motivation to not be the source of everyone s laugh, he becomes someone completely different. • 18. Separate Peace Theme Law and order is a synonym for peace; however often to obtain peace law and order must be broken. Though this is true, peace is not all encompassing. Not only can peace can be found in some parts of life and lacking in others, but peace has many types that affect each part of daily life. A Separate Peace by John Knowles explores the relationship between external and internal peace. When external societal peace is disrupted people become willing to commit a kind of suicide by breaking the rules in an effort to obtain inner peace. Daily life is heavily affected by different forms of peace. External societal peace, is the peace that is not in an individual s control. For example, war, conflicts in relationships, and random acts of violence are $$#Break#$$ Many rules that people are forced to follow violate their own personal values and morals. As a result, when external peace is disrupted people decide that it is alright to add to the disruption if their values would be upheld through doing so. The text states, Phineas didn t really dislike West Point in particular or authority in general, but just considered authority the necessary evil against which happiness was achieved by reaction, the backboard which returned all the insults he threw at it (11). This quote contradicts the statement that breaking the rules can enable someone to obtain inner peace because it states that authority returns some sort of punishment any time you break the rules. This is true, and therefore supports the idea that breaking the rules is a kind of suicide. In some cases the suicide can be literal. For example, Phineas insists on jumping off the tree everyday to cope with the war. Surviving the jump everyday causes him to achieve inner peace because it is a way of getting over his fear of going to the war. This is a literal suicide because as shown later in the book the jump from the tree is very dangerous and ultimately killed him. Breaking the rules can also be a metaphorical suicide because even though internal peace is being met it causes other external peace to be disrupted. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, the definition of suicide it the act of taking one s own life voluntarily as well as the ruin of one s own interests. Gene breaks the rules and goes to the beach with Phineas for a night. This is a metaphorical; kind of suicide because it is against his own interests when he fails his test the next day. • 27. Art Gallery At The Powerhouse Museum And The First Emperor... The 21st century has seen a dramatic increase in the challenges facing cultural institutions, particularly museums. One of the most pressing issues currently facing museums worldwide is the diminishing level of government support. Despite reductions in government funding, the sustained maintenance of museum collections and facilities continues to require substantial resources. In the face of such difficulties, a growing number of museums have turned to innovative programming, specifically exhibitions, as a way to ensure financial viability through increased attendance. Given the growing competition for consumer leisure time in today s society, attention has shifted away from traditional scholarly collection based exhibitions, towards the populist exhibition format offered by blockbuster exhibitions. Through a discussion of Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and the First Emperor: China s Entombed Warriors at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this essay will examine the two approaches museums are taking to the blockbuster model. It will be argued that although exhibitions reflecting popular culture are becoming increasingly more common, there are institutions that manage to reflect popular taste in ways that continue to advance scholarship and create opportunities for lifelong learning. Museological literature offers many definitions of the blockbuster exhibition. According to Elsen, a blockbuster is a large scale loan exhibition which people who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bob then sells half of his Stone stock to Carl, pursuant to a binding agreement between the two of them. We have been asked whether or not this transfer of property for Stone meets the Sec. 351 control requirement for non recognition treatment. Issues To determine whether the transfer of property meets the Sec. 351 control requirements, the requirements under Section 351(a) will have to be met. Had Bob not transferred half of his stock to Carl pursuant to the binding agreement, he would meet the requirements. To determine whether or not Bob still meets the Sec. 351 control requirement for non recognition treatment, a further look at Section 351 and Reg. For example, White households have a higher income than non White Hispanics or Blacks. The data provided on page 82 illustrates the income gap, Black household had the lowest median income in 2013 ($34,598), non Hispanic White households ($58,270). Median income for Hispanic households was $40,963 (Leon Guerrero 2016). This data obtained from the U.S. Census reveals there are differences in income and wealth depending on race. Employment is also important when discussing wealth. According to the textbook, Blacks and Hispanics have not been able to achieve the same earnings of level of wealth as White Americans have (Leon Guerrero 2016). One of the consequences of wealth disparity is lower access of home ownership. As a result of race or ethnicity people have limited housing options. Leon Guerrero says, Minority groups have been denied similar access because of structural barriers such as discrimination, low income, and lack of credit access (2016). This results in a large home ownership gap which allows Whites to own their home as opposed to the minorities who are denied credit and cannot purchase a home of their choice. People have adopted these norms of behaviors, the values and beliefs which come along with social identities. Various groups within the society have different expectations and standards of behavior which are now seen as a completely natural thing rather than just beliefs. There are different norms of social identities which include the race/ethnicity, religion, class, gender and sexuality. This paper will focus more on the class and gender social identities. In my culture, the main two social identities which are considered the most are gender and class. Looking at gender, people believe that the difference in gender is connected to different responsibilities. The way ladies are treated is different from the way men are treated in the society. This is according to what people strongly believe about gender difference and as a result, different people are valued differently in different situations. Even when reading The Bible, Qur an, or The Tanakh; some of the things they teach are still vague and do not quite have the answers to everything. The sculpting of mankind has created a danger that is almost apathetic to humanities mind. It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world (Shelley, 34).
