Gout
The Disease of Kings
Gout, a disease commonly referred to as The Disease of Kings or as Rich Man s Disease is considered
a chronic and progressive disease. Chronic gout can also lead to crystal deposits (sodium orate) of uric
acid (a normal byproduct of purines) in the tissues, particularly in and around the joints. Gout can
cause sudden severe arthritis and may cause joint destruction, decreased kidney function, and kidney
(nephrolithiasis). Gout has the unique distinction of being one of the most frequently recorded medical
illnesses throughout history
When our body has too much of uric acid (commonly known as hyperuricema ), some of the needle

Descriptive Essay About Marco Island
When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the
shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction.
During the frigid and dreary months of Missouri s winter, there is one place in particular that my heart
longs to be. Marco Island, Florida. When most people think of a luxurious vacation, they imagine
crystal clear water, snowy white sands, and a miraculous five star hotel. Marco Island is no Bora Bora,
but to me it s the most enchanting small town that values simplicity and offers pure bliss to anyone
coming to visit. My father proposed the idea of vacationing on Marco Island before the summer of
2016 after hearing multiple people rave to him about the breathtaking beaches and unforgettable
experiences. My mother and I had never heard of Marco Island, but after five short minutes of
browsing through images online of the picturesque island, we were instantly captivated and could not
wait to see it for ourselves. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we
finally arrived on the dreamy island. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was
supposedly only a six minute walk from Marco Island Beach. While pulling up to the magnificent
home, I was holding back tears of joy. The pale grayish blue house looked like it had jumped right out
of a framed photograph hanging up in the waiting room of a doctor s office. Among it s

Strategic Sourcing

delicious Cadbury chocolate, there is a long and complex logistical chain that must be in place to
bring this pro typical chocolate to you. It may not be immediately apparent to the Cadbury buyer that
the ingredients have travelled from other parts of the world. [pic] Figure 1. A complex and diverse

For those missions, the Polaroid camera that was fine for backyard barbeques wouldn t do. Neither
would the Nikons or Leicas used by professional photographers. NASA needed the best of the best. It
needed Swedish made Hasselblad, the Stradivarius of cameras. 4. Lower total cost of goods. Even
with the price of the goods, transportation, taxes and import duties, some goods can be acquired
cheaper abroad, at lower cost countries. This is one of the major reasons companies first consider
offshore sourcing. 5. To establish additional sources of supply. Don t put all your eggs in one basket.
That is why we make contingency plans, and that is s why working with multiple suppliers is a good
thing. Shoe and athletic apparel giant Nike, is one of many examples. It contracts with more than 700
factories in 52 nations. Having such a broad supplier base ensure that supply chain disruptions in one
factory or region can be absorbed by suppliers in other regions, and thus minimize the impact to Nike.
With globalization being a key influence in the outcome of sourcing and eventual complete market
product, it is evident that with global supply and resources, a manufacturer can tap into the various
options in resources, technology, methodology and lower production costs. However, it is also vital for
the manufacturer to

The Balanced Scorecard Essays
Introduction
The balanced scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that was developed by Dr.
Robert S. Kaplan and Dr. David P. Norton in the early 1990 s. Their goal was to provide organizations
with a clear understanding of what to measure in order to improve performance and results (Balanced
Scorecard Institute 2014). The balanced scorecard is a framework that allows an organization to
measure performance and compare it to the organization s strategic objectives and goals (Kinney and
Raiborn 2013, 10).
Purpose of the Balanced Scorecard
The balanced scorecard uses short and long term, internal and external, and financial and nonfinancial
measures to evaluate performance. Management can analyze these measures and compare ... Show

The internal perspective focuses on employees and their contentment with the organization, the quality
of products and services, and cost management (Kinney and Raiborn 2013, 11).
Learning and Growth Perspective The learning and growth perspective uses the organization s
resources to adapt to the changing wants and needs of customers. The organizations must ask itself
whether it can continue to improve and create value for its customers (Kinney and Raiborn 2013, 11).
An organization s ability to innovate and improve their products or services directly affects its value.
An organization can create economic growth by developing new products and services, improving
existing products and services, and developing more efficient operations (Kaplan and Norton
January/February 1992, 75).
Financial Performance Perspective The financial perspective uses financial performance measures to
determine whether the organization s strategy and actions are profitable. An organization s financial
goals may be as simple as: to survive, to succeed, and to prosper. Survival can be measured by cash
flow, success can be measured by growth in sales and income, and prosperity can be measured by
increased market share and return on equity. Managers are encouraged to use financial measures like
these to demonstrate their financial position to shareholders. (Kaplan and Norton

The David Milgaard Trial
The justice system is best known as a pursuit for the truth. It is managed by humans so, it is inevitable
not to make errors such as ones that will lead an innocent to be wrongfully convicted. Such a scenario
is the David Milgaard case where he supposedly raped and murdered a woman named Gail Miller but
really, the foundations of justice were tampered with. The Canadian justice system failed terribly,
dismissed millions of dollars and banished the citizens certainty in the system. Most importantly, this
even diminished 20 years of a man s life. The factors of social impression of discrepancy, the impact
of the media, and the misinterpretation of investigating police and prosecution played a significant
role in the resulting failure of justice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, after over two decades of pain and heartache, David Milgaard walked a free man. David s
mother had fought years and years for her son s innocence. She joined with a lawyer, Mr. Asper who
then reviewed the trial transcripts and concluded the evidence given did not prove the guilt of
Milgaard but the exact opposite, that he was innocent. Dr. James Ferris a forensic pathologist, was
permitted to examine with many of the exhibits present in Milgaard s trial, but because the age and
size of the evidence samples, the results were inconclusive, so could not link David Milgaard to the
murder and therefore proved his innocence. Shortly after, a man named Larry Fisher was caught
fleeing from an attack on a woman and was brought into interrogation, he confessed to multiple brutal
sex attacks in Saskatoon, some of which occurred in Miller s neighbourhood and during the identical
time frame as her murder. But the media did not have knowledge of this and investigators familiar
with each case failed to make the link. It wasn t until 1990 that Joyce Milgaard made the critical
connection and saved her son. After this many people came out, including Milgaard s friends saying
they had forced themselves to believe their testimonies were true when they were actually false. It
took 23 painful years to prove the Canadian justice system had failed not only Milgaard and his
family, but everyone. He is only one of the multiple voices of the wrongfully

A Single Comprehensive Framework About Revenue Recognition...
IFRIS15 is combined with the GAAP to produce a single comprehensive framework about revenue.
IFRIS15 replaces IAS11, IAS18 (Australian equivalent AASB118) IFRIC 13, IFRIC15, IFRIC18,
SIC131. (Chartered Accountants, 2015) Revenue recognition is an important concept in accounting
because it s used to determine the company s value, which affects major decisions of investors and
management. As well as this, a coherent standard is important as it provides consistency, addresses
particular issues and allow for uniform interpretation. It is for this reason that the international
benchmark requires financial reports to contain fundamental and enhancing qualitative characteristics,
the affected being faithful representation, comparability and verifiability. The major reason IASB
proposed changes with the current standard is because these characteristics were compromised.
Comparability, Verifiability, Faithful Representation In terms of comparability, there were major
differences between the US GAAP and IFRS standards. This posed as an issue for evaluating financial
performance internationally. IFRS 15 eliminates the inconsistencies created by the industry specific
guidance of AASB118 by providing a single revenue recognition model. These weaknesses resulted
from the broad principles of AASB 118 required individual judgement to be used (Connecticut
Innovations, 2014). This was insufficient and resulted in firms adopting their own standards, causing
discrepancies in revenue

Figure Of The Independence Movement
The founding fathers weren t the only ones who had developed this mighty country. Without the early
military and the War of Independence, our country might as well went to the British Empire. Even
back then, early leaders like George Washington knew that this land had immense amount of potential
for a powerful country. Because of this potential, all the leaders the military who fought seven brutal
and bloody wars to achieve independence from the British are probably the most influential people in
American history. From all of this, the America I believe in is strong and will never give up to keep
their land. Dating all the way back to the independence days, the most recognizable figure of the
Independence movement was probably George Washington.

Black-Footed Albatross
In the poem, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the Albatross makes a marvelous appearance as it carries
the wind on its backside in guiding a seemingly doomed ship through dangerous sea waters. This
poem alludes to the majestic beauty and unique qualities of the Albatross. Many century old legends
and myths are a product of the observations of the Albatross by sailors. Science has come a long way
in understanding the capabilities and nature of the Albatross. However, despite numerous publications
about this bird, none can quite explain the awe an observer feels when they first lay eyes on this
beautiful sea bird. The common name for the subject of this paper is the Albatross. It comes from the
family Diomedeidae and genus Diomededea. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a common issue that animal life is becoming more dependent on human intervention when it
comes to feeding. This is no different with the Albatross. The Albatross is a sea bird that will make
very long journeys consisting of .....flying for several thousand kilometers... (Lindsey 47). The
Albatross will spend a large portion of its life on the ocean so the question of its feeding strategy is a
popular topic since food is already scarce and widely distributed. These birds will often locate ships
and look for sustenance amongst the discarded food. Since it will normally feast on marine life, the
Albatross is a diurnal carnivore. It uses most of the day to feast on various marine life such as fish,
krill, squid, and crabs. There was a study conducted in 1994 by Peter Prince and his colleagues that
sought to understand how these birds were able to survive by fishing for sea creatures. Their results
were extraordinary, to say the least. Most Albatrosses will ...obtain food from the uppermost meter or

This is an essay I did on explaining how gravity works as...
Introduction
Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses, any two bodies, any two particles.
Gravity is not just the attraction between objects and the Earth. It is the attraction that exists between
all objects . (NASA gravity 2000) Gravity is a very essential part of life on earth. We are in the exact
position in the sun s gravitational field to keep us in orbit and keep life ongoing on our planet. Gravity
is a downward force on any body of mass, the larger the mass of the body, the stronger the
gravitational force. On earth the force is 9.8 N/Kg (Newton s per Kilogram) roughly, depending on
where you are on earth.
Gravitation
The original idea of gravity was discovered by Sir Isaac Newton (Jacob 1999). It is ... Show more

In fact, both orbit about their common center of mass, which is within the Earth but not at its center.
This rotation causes an upward centrifugal force on the oceans, which is proportional to the rotational
speed and the distance from the center of mass. This force is greater on the far side then the near side
(Gravity and Tides 2000)
When you add this to the moons gravitational force, they equal. This causes both sides of the ocean to
bulge as illustrated in the diagram above causing 2 high tides, about 12h and 25 minutes apart.
Relatively the same idea applies to the effects of the Sun on Earth, though the centrifugal force on the
near side of earth is downward, not upward. As it turns out, the force of the sun is about half the force
of the moon. We get the high spring tides when the Earth, Sun and Moon are in a straight line and
their forces are combined. After 7 days when they are at right angles to each other they cancel each
others forces giving the low neep tides. A very important factor about tides that is not included in the
above, is the height of the ocean floor. Different heights can cause funneling of the tidal flow, heaping
the tides up in shallow water and causing even more complex effects where flows meet.
Conclusion
Gravity is an essential to life. It is also one of the four key physical forces which are, Gravity,
Electromagnitivity, Strong Nuclear Force and Weak Nuclear Force (Physics for a Modern World
1986). It

The Theory Of The Constructivist Theory
1) Constructivism is a form of learning which is driven by the theory that humans are able to generate
knowledge from the interaction between their experiences and their ideas(1). This makes the student
actively involved in the process of synthesising meaning and knowledge. It is argued that the
constructivist approach inculcates critical thinking from the extrapolation of the student s prior
knowledge and actively engaging the student in this way is much more effective than passive learning
through acquiring knowledge in a lecture(2) Also, this form of learning can be done in a collaboration
of students(3) Below are discussed some of the main types of constructivist theories. One of the
principle theoretical constructs used in medical education is known as Problem Based learning (PBL).
This form of learning starts with an educator forms and presents a number of carefully constructed
problems to a small group of students(4). The problems presented here are typically based on events
of which the students have some prior knowledge of. This prior knowledge is discussed within the
class and from this, questions are asked related to the problems presented. Following this, time is
granted in which the students go away to conduct individual research on the new information which
they have acquired. The students then return to their class, in which they spend one to

Comparing Women in the Merchant s Tale and the Manciple s...
Women in the Merchant s Tale and the Manciple s Tale
The Wife of Bath s extraordinary prologue gives the reader a dose of what is sometimes missing in
early male written literature: glimpses of female subjectivity. Women in medieval literature are often
silent and passive, to the extent that cuckolding is often seen as something one man (the adulterer)
does to another (the husband). Eve Sedgwick argues in Between Men that in many literary
representations, women are playing pieces or playing fields in struggles between male players. By
default it seems, male writers cannot help but create shallow constructions of women; heroism occurs
in male spheres of activity, while the wives and daughters make the background, and ... Show more

(ll. 1746 9)
The narrator begins with a disclaimer, saying that even her surface appearance must remain
inaccessible to those reading the tale. This disclaimer is followed by an amazingly unhelpful simile:
May is like the morrow of May. The element of cliché is not the only problem with the simile.
Especially in a literary context, the reference to the month is already contained in May s own name.
The simile becomes sadistically repetitive. In text, the word May (the name of the woman) becomes
not only the signified but the signifier; her own name, in a way, calls us to liken her to the month.
Consequently, the line likening her to the month shoves one metaphor back into itself, and then this
simile becomes not one of A=B but rather A=A or even A within A. If a simile s two parts are too
similar, then the simile ceases to be a simile, thus losing its poetic power to describe. Chaucer drives
the point home by rhyming May with may, setting up a parallel situation between his simile and his
rhyme; may cannot properly be said to rhyme with May ‹they are homophones. So in describing May
on the night of the wedding feast, Chaucer first creates an aura of mystery, then intimates that much
may be unknown about the bride, then finally gives the reader completely undescriptive lines about

dentist twice a year, more if he or she recommends it.
Don t smoke or drink alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol may cause oral or throat cancer, and using
alcohol and tobacco together increases the chance of these diseases.
Chew sugar free gum and drink lots of water to keep salvia flowing. Lack of saliva, often caused by
medications seniors take, can cause dry mouth. Dry mouth increases the chance of developing mouth
cancer. Seniors should let their dentist know if they have loose or painful teeth, bleeding gums or
lumps, bumps or swelling. During a dental appointment, the dentist will check dentures or partials for
proper fit and adjust them, if necessary.

The Role of Perceived Outcome and Process-Oriented...
Summary
Introduction
Objective of this study is to provide a critical review of a research paper titled Implementing Changes
in Marketing Strategy: The Role of Perceived Outcome and Process Oriented Supervisory Actions .
(Sarin, et al, 2012).The authors investigate the influence of supervisors in implementing changes in
the marketing strategy. The focus of the paper reveals the strategy sales supervisors use in influencing
salespeople in implementing strategy marketing changes within organizations. The authors further
argue that firms periodically need to change their marketing strategies to achieve technological
development and generate opportunities. Typically, development in technologies necessitates firms to
formulate changes in the marketing strategies to capture opportunities from the new technologies. To
capture opportunities from the technological changes, firm often use their frontline employees such as
supervisors to influence their salespeople to get customers to transact business using internet platform
rather than offline method to purchase goods.
Theoretical Framework: The authors formulate stress theory and change management theory to
provide greater understanding on the challenges sales supervisors could encounter in convincing
salespeople to advise their customers to use online method to purchase products rather than from
salespeople. (Lafferty,et al 2006). Typically, salespeople may be reluctant to implement the changes
because they may believe

Toni Morrison Term Paper
Toni Morrison:
Segregated, set apart from the rest, she stood out in a crowd and was capable of things that many don t
even think of doing. Toni Morrison, formally Chloe Anthony Wofford, is an African American author
who is known for her fiction novels, plays, children s literature, and sometimes even opera and
political essays. Morrison was born on February 18, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio. Growing up in the
depression was difficult for Morrison and her family, and being African American didn t lessen any
difficulties they faced. Born into a racially diverse community, Toni Morrison was inspired to write
some of her most famous literary works including Sula, Beloved and The Bluest Eye, and was
criticized for discussing sore topics. Toni Morrison s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Toni Morrison s first published novel is The Bluest Eye, which was published in 1970. As Telgen
explains, The Bluest Eye tells the story of Claudia Macteer. The book opens in present tense but
continues to go back and forth between Claudia s present self, her nine year old self, and an
omniscient point of view. The novel mostly centers around Claudia, Frieda, who Claudia s sister, and
their attachment to a young black girl named Pecola Breedlove. Throughout the story the narrators
take turns showing the hardships of each family and how Claudia and Pecola constantly wish for blue
eyes, thinking that is they had them their lives would be much easier and more enjoyable(68). Toni
Morrison later published Sula, which also received a lot of attention, in 1973. As Smith clarifies, Sula
takes place in the African American part of a town known as The Bottom in Medallion, Ohio. The
novel centers around Sula Peace, but often tells stories of her dysfunctional family also. Sula Peace is
described as dark, and not just because of her skin. Sula has a very dark personality that affects her
family members in various ways(243). Fourteen years later Toni Morrison published another hit novel,
Beloved. As Napierkowski and Stanley state, Beloved takes place throughout the Civil War and is
centered around the struggles of that Sethe, the main character, and her family face. Throughout the
novel you see how broken Sethe is because of slavery. She lives her live in her own small insulated
world where she is constantly trying to escape her past(27 28). Although Morrison outstanding writing
abilities has gotten her books very far, she did not always want to be an author. Toni Morrison says, I
never wanted to be a writer, but I was always an avid reader of fiction. I really began writing myself
when I drifted into a writer s group while teaching at Howard University (qtd. in Toni Morrison 166).

cholera had wrought havoc on the health of the villagers, that terrible disease had caused many deaths

Trifles: Yes Minnie did it but can you blame her?
The play Trifles by Susan Glaspell is an interesting story about a woman named Mrs.Minnie Wright.
Mrs. Minnie wright does not actually take part in the scene but is actually the main character
throughout the play. The focus of the play is about whether or not Minnie Wright did in fact murder
her husband, John Wright or did he commit suicide. Throughout the scene, they bring in people to
look over or find evidence that can be used to give testimony at her trial. Mrs. Minnie wright should
be found innocent of her husband s death, It does not matter if she had a part in his death or not. The
fact that she was not happy because of her husband s attitude towards her tells the audience that she
was not happy and was a captive in what was supposed to be her home.
Mrs.Minnie Wright does not deserve to be condemned for the crime of murdering of her husband.
Mrs.Wright should not be condemned to prison or death because she has already suffered enough
although her marriage and needs to have enough room and space to be able to take a breath. There is
no concrete evidence that she had a hand in his death. The only evidence that seems to be against her
is the fact that she is not acting the way the men want her to. The fact that she is not crying or wailing
about the death of her husband seems to upset the men in the play. So much in fact that they seem to

Standiford and Matthews carefully builds the case against the police. They provide details that contain
numerous leads that were disregarded during the initial investigation. These included some obvious
questions that were never asked, a number of crucial witnesses that were ignored, and details
concerning incomplete or falsified reports. In addition, the fresh investigation of the investigators
exposed evidence that was never examined and a number of vital evidence that got lost.
The book exposes the most damning revelation concerning ignorance of the Hollywood police on
repeated confessions by a serial killer. The killer had detailed information concerning the crime that
was never made public. However, he was never tried for the crime despite confessing to the boy s
murder. The author does not bend facts to show his artistic skills. He details factual information and is
not self consciously literary. The spilling of the narrative follows a

Water Names Short Story Summary
An old Chinese proverb says to fish for the moon in the water. In Lan Samantha Chang s short story
Water Names , a grandmother tells her granddaughters a story as a way to introduce them to their
cultural heritage. This frame story was about Wen Zhiqing s favorite daughter whose fascination with
water escalates after she claims to see a prince in the reflective water. The daughter comes to the
conclusion that her prince is real, wants to marry her and wants to take her away to his underwater
kingdom. Her parents try to convince her otherwise and keep her from going to the river but after a
flood, they lose track of her and she disappears. The grandmother ends the story and leaves the girls to
wonder about what actually happened to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She even repeats it a mummer to show her astonishment. The grandmother gets her undivided
attention so she can focus more on the story. In the girl s case they had only know blue swimming
pools. But something in them changes after hearing all about this great river that their family is from
they try to imagine the sudden shock of cold and plunge, deep into water. I believe they understand
that even though they didn t live it or see it, it s still apart of them. Their cultures might be different
based on where they grew up but in the end, this is also apart of their culture.
The frame story that the grandmother tells is, in fact, her own life story, her identity, transformed in a
way the girls can be fascinated and entertained by. The identity of the main character is empty so
much so that the granddaughters tried to imagine Wen Zhiqing daughter. What did she look like? How
old was she? Why hadn t anyone remembered her name? . (Chang 178) I believe the grandmother did
this purposely, not to let the girls try to figure out it was her, but for them to focus more on the story
than the person. In American culture, the mother s maiden name is something that is remembered. In
Chinese culture, the father s full name has that much importance and even more. Which explains why
the father name is mentioned it represents her full identity being from her father s seed and his fathers
and so on. Breaking down the title Water Names I believe Water refers to the

Analysis Of The Book Monster By Walter Myers
ssy Martinez Monster by Walter Dean Myers The best time to cry is at night, when the lights are out
and someone is being beaten up and screaming for help (Myers 1). 1. This is the opening line of the
book and the journal of Steve Harmon, who is also the main character and is on trial for felony
murder. Steve Harmon is stating why it is better to cry at night. 2. What Steve is explaining that it is
always better to cry at night when there are other activities happening and it is dark, because no one
can see you or hear you. Steve did not want anyone to see him cry, because he did not want to seem
weak. 3. The author used this passage as his opening line of the book to hook the readers into wanting
to read more. 4. I am able to relate to this quote because like Steve Harmon, I have a tendency to
portray that I am a strong individual, and I do not like to seem weak to others. This passage made me
realize that sometimes I do not have to be so egotistic and that I can allow people to see who I am
truly as a person. Sometimes I feel like I have walked into the middle of a movie. It is a strange movie
with no plot and no beginning (Myers 3). 1. This quotation is found in the second journal entry of
Steve Harmon, who feels that everything that is happening to him feels unreal, like walking right into
the middle of a movie. 2. Steve explains that because of the drastic changes in his life, it feels like he
has walked right into a movie. He can not make sense of what is

Comparing Two Studies on estimated HIV Incidence and Prevalence
Introduction
In the era of HIV global pandemic, estimating incidence and prevalence correctly is critical, as it
becomes a strong tool for authorities to decide next action, to mitigate infection rate and its multiple
consequences to society. 2 studies investigated HIV estimated incidence from different approaches.
Prejean et al studied the incidence estimates in the United States, by using a four year data obtained
from HIV incidence surveillance from 16 states and 2 cities, and expanded the estimated incidence to
other areas in the United States1; they used a ratio of group specific incidence at a measured area to
new AIDS diagnosis, to AIDS diagnosis in other areas1. On the other hand, Walker et al estimated
prevalence by applying two strategies; using HIV prevalence of pregnant women for countries
suffering general epidemics, and using HIV prevalence in high risk groups for countries with localized
epidemic to estimate HIV prevalence .2 After obtaining prevalence, they estimated prevalence using
ratio of number screened against the specific group in that country against the adult population, and
estimated incidence according to estimates on how long a person with HIV can survive and vertical
transmission in the area with estimated national prevalence2. While both studies are carefully planned,
some aspects pose assumptions and asks the reader the potential direction of bias.

Compare Nut Butters for Diabetes Nutrition
Nut butters have become a buzzword in the health community as they are a tasty way to help combat
chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular problems. Nut butter have health nutrients and can play a
good role in a well balanced diet. Compare nut butters for diabetes to see which ones are the best
choices.
Each nut butter offers different benefits, a unique flavor and can be beneficial for your health. Peanut
butter is the most well known of all the nut butters and is still the most popular spread at leading
grocery stores. Often the thought of peanut butter brings to mind the yummy peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches packed in our lunch boxes when we were kids. However, jelly can be full of sugar with
little nutritional value. Consider using fresh fruit or sugar free preserves instead. Choose peanut butter
that is free of hydrogenated oil and preservatives. The fewer ingredients listed on the label, the better.

better heart health. Plus, almond butter usually has less sugar and no hydrogenated oil. Look for an
almond butter that contains just one ingredient almonds.
Another popular nut butter is cashew butter, but it might not always be a good choice. Read the label
as it can be higher in sugar than peanut butter or almond butter and lower in protein. Some types of
cashew butter do have slightly less fat. Consider making cashew butter yourself in a food processor to

Mission Cleopatra History
History Through Film I set out to find if such a movie such as Asterix and Obelix; Mission Cleopatra
were even remotely related to actual historical events. This essay will demonstrate, the plot of the
movie Asterix and Obelix; Mission Cleopatra still reflects a lot on Cleopatra and Caesar s conflict of
interest. By now, we have all established magical potion does not exist. For the simple fact that if it
was present in 47 BC we would have some kind of artifact to back up this theory. Unfortunately it is
not the case, the Gaul were far too small and uncooperative with each other, they would not ally with
other tribes to defend themselves, this lead for a rather easy victory for Julius Caesar. Until the battle
of Alesia, where Vercingetorix, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kingship was always given to men and boys in the royal blood family. As Angelica E. stated that the
image desired was that of a masculine, social male, as opposed to a gentle, subordinate female
(Angelica E. Delaney 2014,p.8). This leads to gender roles. Cleopatra is from an ascribed status. An
ascribed status is when an individual is born with social advantages or disadvantages that will
influence them throughout their life. As it is mentioned previously, Cleopatra was viewed as a God
since she was born. She kept the same status and became the queen of Egypt. In the movie, Cleopatra
seems to make all the decision by her without taking anyone s consent. As for historically, Cleopatra
was also talking her decisions on her own but probably needed some point of view of other people in
different expertise. The message projected behind this movie is that even though Cleopatra was a
young woman who was controlling the Egyptian Empire, she was still able to defeat Caesar even if
she has many obstacles. She was a woman who was breaking the entire norms and boundaries of this
era and was encouraging feminism. As it was shown in the movie, women always surrounded
Cleopatra. They were at her service but she never treated her as her maids but instead treated them like
her friends. They were doing all their activities together. Angelica E. Delaney mentioned, The
endgame was to speak to the

Gymnogyps California Condor Essay
The Gymnogyps californianus, also known as the California Condor is one of the largest flying birds
in the world. They have a wing span up to nine and a half feet and as a result, they can glide for long
distances without having to flap their wings for hours. Originally, these birds lived in different parts of
North America, but settlers often shot, poisoned, and captured these birds. Those that remained faced a
shortage of food supply until they could no longer survive in most areas. By 1900 s the remaining
birds were now limited to the mountainous regions of Southern California (wildlife.ca.gov). The
Federal law has protected the California condor as an endangered species since 1967 and a California
state law since 1971. It was around this time that only a few dozen now remained in the wild which
kicked off conservation campaigns. In efforts to save the remaining birds in the wild, they were
captured and taken to zoos. Today, due to captive breeding and successful reintroduction programs,
there are 106 mature wild birds, with 44 of them having bred successfully. This is a ... Show more

The diet of the condor is carrion, which is carcass of dead animals (defenders.org). This poisoning can
occur when they accidentally ingest fragments of ammunition from lead bullets and lead buck shots
from carcasses they consume. An example of this ongoing threat can be illustrated by the fact,
according to The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, 9 of the 13 birds that had been released at the
Pinnacles National Monument in California had to be captured and tested for lead poisoning after
realizing the birds had feasted on squirrel carcasses that had been shot by hunters using lead shots.
They also state that other deaths have occurred as a result of birds being shot and nestling that had
ingested wire, plastic cartridge cases, and glass fragments (iucnredlist.org,

What Effect Does Stress Have on Health? Many individuals face the problem of stress today. Every
individual will eventually experience stress at some point in his or her life. Stress is defined as an
internal state which can be caused by physical demands of the body or by environmental and social
situations, which are evaluated as potentially harmful, uncontrollable, or exceeding our resources for
coping. An environmental situation could be a natural disaster such as a hurricane and a social
circumstance could be work. This means that stress is typically inevitable; humans encounter multiple
kinds of stressors. Each of these stressors produces different outcomes. Stress can ... Show more

When the acne worsens, the person will then have to go find a solution for their acne. Teenagers are
sufferers to stress related acne breakouts, as hormones are very unbalanced and constantly changing.
Adults however, will find that their acne formed from high levels of stress. Both age groups suffer
regardless due to cells that produce sebum during stress. Situations that put individuals into emotional
distressing situations will cause an outburst of acne. These cells will continue to produce sebum
uncontrollably causing worsened symptoms for the victim.
When stress occurs, this creates a mental disturbance in the mind. This mental disturbance or
disruption creates insomnia, which is the inability to sleep. Stress has the ability to create hyperarousal
upsets the balance between sleep and wakefulness. The increase in stress will feed this unbalance
creating insomnia. Thirty seven percent of adults report fatigue or feeling tired because of stress and
More than one third of teens (35 percent) report that stress caused them to lie awake at night
(American Psychological Association 5,2). Stress affects insomnia by making it even harder to fall
asleep and to stay asleep.
Stress frequently affect your life physically as well as mentally. The psychological toll on one could
result in anxiety. As the human body undergoes these changes, anxiety and stress go hand in hand, as

Male Enhancement Drugs At The United States
We ve all seen the commercials of men using male enhancement drugs to better their sex lives. In the
commercials the couples always seem to be as happy as can be as if they were on cloud nine. During
the commercials the voice of the announcer can always be heard advising users of the risk of taking
these drugs. Also during the commercial its advised to seek help from a physician. Seeking the help of
a physician is crucial because they ll be able to tell you which supplement is better for you. But too
often these warnings go unheard and sometimes that mistake can be deadly. People put themselves at
risk by taking substances that can affect their health. Those who suffer with heart disease, diabetes,
and blood pressure issues should definitely be careful and are most affected.
In 2011 5.3 million prescriptions for male enhancement pills were written in the united states. In the
United States prescriptions tripled between 2000 and 2011 with sales as high as 1.6 billion dollars.
Men who used testosterone therapy had a 30 percent increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, or dying.
The Food Dug Administration or for short the FDA is responsible for making sure products are safe to
be on the market. If not there taken off the market. An increasing trend of over the counter products
represented as male enhancers may be laced with prescription drugs, controlled substances and
untested and unstudied ingredients. With how vast the drug market is the FDA connote test all of the

The Effects Of Stigma On Functioning On Bipolar Disorder...
The Impact of Stigma on Functioning in Bipolar Disorder Patients Bipolar disorder, also known as
manic depression, is a mood disorder that requires careful medication management during a patient s
lifetime (Halter, 2014, p. 227). Bipolar disorder is described as recurrent episodes of mood changes
ranging from mania to irritability to depression (Halter, 2014, p. 228). Periods of normal functioning
are also recurrent with mood shifts. Often times bipolar disorder goes undiagnosed for many years
which is linked to undesirable outcomes such as suicide (Halter, 2014, p. 227). On the other hand,
many patients with a definite diagnosis report denying their illness because of the stigma that is
associated with mood disorders (Thome, Dargel, Migliavacca, Potter, Jappur, Kapczinski, Cereser,
2011) . Perceived stigma is an attribute that devalues or discriminates against a human being because
of their mental illness (Pedneault, 2014). Stigmatizing attitudes can negatively impact on the patients
psychosocial functioning, behavior tendencies and cognitive function.
Research Appraisal I chose to do an article relating to bipolar disorder patients, because I have come
into contact with numerous patients with both Bipolar I and Bipolar II diagnoses in clinical this
semester and I enjoy speaking with them and listening to their stories. I have witnessed them at both at
high s and low s and I am intrigued to learn about different experiences and stigma that have affected

Baseball Bat Physics
Does the Weight Affect the Distance a Baseball Will be Hit?
Baseball bats have not always been the same shape and size they are today. Many baseball players
were known to make their own bats. Overall, until real regulations depicting length and shape, it really
didn t matter what players used. This experiment will not have any hard parts when conducting it
other than measuring the length away from home plate the ball goes. Another hard part is figuring out
which baseballs are hot by which bat. One way to solve both of these problems is to measure the
distance before moving on to test the other bats.
However, in the more than 40 years since they were first introduced, they have evolved into superb
hitting instruments that, left unregulated, can significantly outperform wooden bats. (Brief History of
the Baseball) This quote shows that the aluminum bats, which will be used to test, are better than
wooden bats. A baseball will travel further when hit with an aluminum baseball bat, rather than a
standard wooden bat. (Swing velocity of aluminum and wooden baseball bats) Early batters were
known to sometimes whittle bats to suit their own hitting style. As you might imagine, the results were
quite diverse there were flat bats, round bats, short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chronic gout can also lead to crystal deposits (sodium orate) of uric acid (a normal byproduct of purines) in the tissues, particularly in and around the joints. Gout can cause sudden severe arthritis and may cause joint destruction, decreased kidney function, and kidney (nephrolithiasis). • 3. Descriptive Essay About Marco Island When I close my eyes and imagine, I can still clearly hear the gentle splash of the waves lapping the shoreline, and feel the slight ocean breeze whizz through my hair, sending it flying in every direction. During the frigid and dreary months of Missouri s winter, there is one place in particular that my heart longs to be. Marco Island, Florida. When most people think of a luxurious vacation, they imagine crystal clear water, snowy white sands, and a miraculous five star hotel. Marco Island is no Bora Bora, but to me it s the most enchanting small town that values simplicity and offers pure bliss to anyone coming to visit. My father proposed the idea of vacationing on Marco Island before the summer of 2016 after hearing multiple people rave to him about the breathtaking beaches and unforgettable experiences. My mother and I had never heard of Marco Island, but after five short minutes of browsing through images online of the picturesque island, we were instantly captivated and could not wait to see it for ourselves. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting for our trip to commence, we finally arrived on the dreamy island. Rather than staying at a hotel, we rented a beach house that was supposedly only a six minute walk from Marco Island Beach. While pulling up to the magnificent home, I was holding back tears of joy. The pale grayish blue house looked like it had jumped right out of a framed photograph hanging up in the waiting room of a doctor s office. Among it s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Capturing The Trends Long before your first bite of a mouth watering, delicious Cadbury chocolate, there is a long and complex logistical chain that must be in place to bring this pro typical chocolate to you. It may not be immediately apparent to the Cadbury buyer that the ingredients have travelled from other parts of the world. [pic] Figure 1. A complex and diverse supply chain of Cadbury Chocolate Bars The processes involved in making Cadbury Dairy Fruit Nut, at the factory in Bournville in the United Kingdom, give a good illustration of how strategic sourcing is applied in Cadbury supply chain. Neither would the Nikons or Leicas used by professional photographers. NASA needed the best of the best. It needed Swedish made Hasselblad, the Stradivarius of cameras. 4. Lower total cost of goods. Even with the price of the goods, transportation, taxes and import duties, some goods can be acquired cheaper abroad, at lower cost countries. This is one of the major reasons companies first consider offshore sourcing. 5. To establish additional sources of supply. Don t put all your eggs in one basket. That is why we make contingency plans, and that is s why working with multiple suppliers is a good thing. Shoe and athletic apparel giant Nike, is one of many examples. It contracts with more than 700 factories in 52 nations. Having such a broad supplier base ensure that supply chain disruptions in one factory or region can be absorbed by suppliers in other regions, and thus minimize the impact to Nike. With globalization being a key influence in the outcome of sourcing and eventual complete market product, it is evident that with global supply and resources, a manufacturer can tap into the various options in resources, technology, methodology and lower production costs. However, it is also vital for the manufacturer to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Balanced Scorecard Essays Introduction The balanced scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that was developed by Dr. Robert S. Kaplan and Dr. David P. Norton in the early 1990 s. Their goal was to provide organizations with a clear understanding of what to measure in order to improve performance and results (Balanced Scorecard Institute 2014). The balanced scorecard is a framework that allows an organization to measure performance and compare it to the organization s strategic objectives and goals (Kinney and Raiborn 2013, 10). Purpose of the Balanced Scorecard The balanced scorecard uses short and long term, internal and external, and financial and nonfinancial measures to evaluate performance. Management can analyze these measures and compare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The internal perspective focuses on employees and their contentment with the organization, the quality of products and services, and cost management (Kinney and Raiborn 2013, 11). Learning and Growth Perspective The learning and growth perspective uses the organization s resources to adapt to the changing wants and needs of customers. The organizations must ask itself whether it can continue to improve and create value for its customers (Kinney and Raiborn 2013, 11). An organization s ability to innovate and improve their products or services directly affects its value. An organization can create economic growth by developing new products and services, improving existing products and services, and developing more efficient operations (Kaplan and Norton January/February 1992, 75). Financial Performance Perspective The financial perspective uses financial performance measures to determine whether the organization s strategy and actions are profitable. An organization s financial goals may be as simple as: to survive, to succeed, and to prosper. Survival can be measured by cash flow, success can be measured by growth in sales and income, and prosperity can be measured by increased market share and return on equity. Managers are encouraged to use financial measures like these to demonstrate their financial position to shareholders. (Kaplan and Norton ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The David Milgaard Trial The justice system is best known as a pursuit for the truth. It is managed by humans so, it is inevitable not to make errors such as ones that will lead an innocent to be wrongfully convicted. Such a scenario is the David Milgaard case where he supposedly raped and murdered a woman named Gail Miller but really, the foundations of justice were tampered with. The Canadian justice system failed terribly, dismissed millions of dollars and banished the citizens certainty in the system. Most importantly, this even diminished 20 years of a man s life. The factors of social impression of discrepancy, the impact of the media, and the misinterpretation of investigating police and prosecution played a significant role in the resulting failure of justice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally, after over two decades of pain and heartache, David Milgaard walked a free man. David s mother had fought years and years for her son s innocence. She joined with a lawyer, Mr. Asper who then reviewed the trial transcripts and concluded the evidence given did not prove the guilt of Milgaard but the exact opposite, that he was innocent. Dr. James Ferris a forensic pathologist, was permitted to examine with many of the exhibits present in Milgaard s trial, but because the age and size of the evidence samples, the results were inconclusive, so could not link David Milgaard to the murder and therefore proved his innocence. Shortly after, a man named Larry Fisher was caught fleeing from an attack on a woman and was brought into interrogation, he confessed to multiple brutal sex attacks in Saskatoon, some of which occurred in Miller s neighbourhood and during the identical time frame as her murder. But the media did not have knowledge of this and investigators familiar with each case failed to make the link. It wasn t until 1990 that Joyce Milgaard made the critical connection and saved her son. After this many people came out, including Milgaard s friends saying they had forced themselves to believe their testimonies were true when they were actually false. It took 23 painful years to prove the Canadian justice system had failed not only Milgaard and his family, but everyone. He is only one of the multiple voices of the wrongfully ... • 8. A Single Comprehensive Framework About Revenue Recognition... IFRIS15 is combined with the GAAP to produce a single comprehensive framework about revenue. IFRIS15 replaces IAS11, IAS18 (Australian equivalent AASB118) IFRIC 13, IFRIC15, IFRIC18, SIC131. (Chartered Accountants, 2015) Revenue recognition is an important concept in accounting because it s used to determine the company s value, which affects major decisions of investors and management. As well as this, a coherent standard is important as it provides consistency, addresses particular issues and allow for uniform interpretation. It is for this reason that the international benchmark requires financial reports to contain fundamental and enhancing qualitative characteristics, the affected being faithful representation, comparability and verifiability. The major reason IASB proposed changes with the current standard is because these characteristics were compromised. Comparability, Verifiability, Faithful Representation In terms of comparability, there were major differences between the US GAAP and IFRS standards. This posed as an issue for evaluating financial performance internationally. IFRS 15 eliminates the inconsistencies created by the industry specific guidance of AASB118 by providing a single revenue recognition model. These weaknesses resulted from the broad principles of AASB 118 required individual judgement to be used (Connecticut Innovations, 2014). This was insufficient and resulted in firms adopting their own standards, causing discrepancies in revenue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of this potential, all the leaders the military who fought seven brutal and bloody wars to achieve independence from the British are probably the most influential people in American history. • 11. Black-Footed Albatross In the poem, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the Albatross makes a marvelous appearance as it carries the wind on its backside in guiding a seemingly doomed ship through dangerous sea waters. This poem alludes to the majestic beauty and unique qualities of the Albatross. Many century old legends and myths are a product of the observations of the Albatross by sailors. Science has come a long way in understanding the capabilities and nature of the Albatross. However, despite numerous publications about this bird, none can quite explain the awe an observer feels when they first lay eyes on this beautiful sea bird. It is a common issue that animal life is becoming more dependent on human intervention when it comes to feeding. This is no different with the Albatross. The Albatross is a sea bird that will make very long journeys consisting of .....flying for several thousand kilometers... (Lindsey 47). The Albatross will spend a large portion of its life on the ocean so the question of its feeding strategy is a popular topic since food is already scarce and widely distributed. These birds will often locate ships and look for sustenance amongst the discarded food. Since it will normally feast on marine life, the Albatross is a diurnal carnivore. It uses most of the day to feast on various marine life such as fish, krill, squid, and crabs. There was a study conducted in 1994 by Peter Prince and his colleagues that sought to understand how these birds were able to survive by fishing for sea creatures. • 12. This is an essay I did on explaining how gravity works as... Introduction Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses, any two bodies, any two particles. Gravity is not just the attraction between objects and the Earth. It is the attraction that exists between all objects . (NASA gravity 2000) Gravity is a very essential part of life on earth. We are in the exact position in the sun s gravitational field to keep us in orbit and keep life ongoing on our planet. Gravity is a downward force on any body of mass, the larger the mass of the body, the stronger the gravitational force. On earth the force is 9.8 N/Kg (Newton s per Kilogram) roughly, depending on where you are on earth. Gravitation The original idea of gravity was discovered by Sir Isaac Newton (Jacob 1999). It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, both orbit about their common center of mass, which is within the Earth but not at its center. This rotation causes an upward centrifugal force on the oceans, which is proportional to the rotational speed and the distance from the center of mass. This force is greater on the far side then the near side (Gravity and Tides 2000) When you add this to the moons gravitational force, they equal. This causes both sides of the ocean to bulge as illustrated in the diagram above causing 2 high tides, about 12h and 25 minutes apart. Relatively the same idea applies to the effects of the Sun on Earth, though the centrifugal force on the near side of earth is downward, not upward. As it turns out, the force of the sun is about half the force of the moon. We get the high spring tides when the Earth, Sun and Moon are in a straight line and their forces are combined. After 7 days when they are at right angles to each other they cancel each others forces giving the low neep tides. A very important factor about tides that is not included in the above, is the height of the ocean floor. Different heights can cause funneling of the tidal flow, heaping the tides up in shallow water and causing even more complex effects where flows meet. Conclusion Gravity is an essential to life. It is also one of the four key physical forces which are, Gravity, Electromagnitivity, Strong Nuclear Force and Weak Nuclear Force (Physics for a Modern World 1986). It ... • 13. The Theory Of The Constructivist Theory 1) Constructivism is a form of learning which is driven by the theory that humans are able to generate knowledge from the interaction between their experiences and their ideas(1). This makes the student actively involved in the process of synthesising meaning and knowledge. It is argued that the constructivist approach inculcates critical thinking from the extrapolation of the student s prior knowledge and actively engaging the student in this way is much more effective than passive learning through acquiring knowledge in a lecture(2) Also, this form of learning can be done in a collaboration of students(3) Below are discussed some of the main types of constructivist theories. One of the principle theoretical constructs used in medical education is known as Problem Based learning (PBL). This form of learning starts with an educator forms and presents a number of carefully constructed problems to a small group of students(4). The problems presented here are typically based on events of which the students have some prior knowledge of. This prior knowledge is discussed within the class and from this, questions are asked related to the problems presented. Following this, time is granted in which the students go away to conduct individual research on the new information which they have acquired. The students then return to their class, in which they spend one to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women in the Merchant s Tale and the Manciple s Tale The Wife of Bath s extraordinary prologue gives the reader a dose of what is sometimes missing in early male written literature: glimpses of female subjectivity. Women in medieval literature are often silent and passive, to the extent that cuckolding is often seen as something one man (the adulterer) does to another (the husband). Eve Sedgwick argues in Between Men that in many literary representations, women are playing pieces or playing fields in struggles between male players. By default it seems, male writers cannot help but create shallow constructions of women; heroism occurs in male spheres of activity, while the wives and daughters make the background, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (ll. 1746 9) The narrator begins with a disclaimer, saying that even her surface appearance must remain inaccessible to those reading the tale. This disclaimer is followed by an amazingly unhelpful simile: May is like the morrow of May. The element of cliché is not the only problem with the simile. Especially in a literary context, the reference to the month is already contained in May s own name. The simile becomes sadistically repetitive. In text, the word May (the name of the woman) becomes not only the signified but the signifier; her own name, in a way, calls us to liken her to the month. Consequently, the line likening her to the month shoves one metaphor back into itself, and then this simile becomes not one of A=B but rather A=A or even A within A. If a simile s two parts are too similar, then the simile ceases to be a simile, thus losing its poetic power to describe. Chaucer drives the point home by rhyming May with may, setting up a parallel situation between his simile and his rhyme; may cannot properly be said to rhyme with May ‹they are homophones. So in describing May on the night of the wedding feast, Chaucer first creates an aura of mystery, then intimates that much may be unknown about the bride, then finally gives the reader completely undescriptive lines about May s ... Summary Introduction Objective of this study is to provide a critical review of a research paper titled Implementing Changes in Marketing Strategy: The Role of Perceived Outcome and Process Oriented Supervisory Actions . (Sarin, et al, 2012).The authors investigate the influence of supervisors in implementing changes in the marketing strategy. The focus of the paper reveals the strategy sales supervisors use in influencing salespeople in implementing strategy marketing changes within organizations. Typically, development in technologies necessitates firms to formulate changes in the marketing strategies to capture opportunities from the new technologies. To capture opportunities from the technological changes, firm often use their frontline employees such as supervisors to influence their salespeople to get customers to transact business using internet platform rather than offline method to purchase goods. As Smith clarifies, Sula takes place in the African American part of a town known as The Bottom in Medallion, Ohio. The novel centers around Sula Peace, but often tells stories of her dysfunctional family also. Sula Peace is described as dark, and not just because of her skin. The play Trifles by Susan Glaspell is an interesting story about a woman named Mrs.Minnie Wright. Mrs. Minnie wright does not actually take part in the scene but is actually the main character throughout the play. The focus of the play is about whether or not Minnie Wright did in fact murder her husband, John Wright or did he commit suicide. Throughout the scene, they bring in people to look over or find evidence that can be used to give testimony at her trial. Mrs. Minnie wright should be found innocent of her husband s death, It does not matter if she had a part in his death or not. The fact that she was not happy because of her husband s attitude towards her tells the audience that she was not happy and was a captive in what was supposed to be her home. Mrs.Minnie Wright does not deserve to be condemned for the crime of murdering of her husband. Mrs.Wright should not be condemned to prison or death because she has already suffered enough although her marriage and needs to have enough room and space to be able to take a breath. The Impact of Stigma on Functioning in Bipolar Disorder Patients Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a mood disorder that requires careful medication management during a patient s lifetime (Halter, 2014, p. 227). Bipolar disorder is described as recurrent episodes of mood changes ranging from mania to irritability to depression (Halter, 2014, p. 228). Periods of normal functioning are also recurrent with mood shifts. Often times bipolar disorder goes undiagnosed for many years which is linked to undesirable outcomes such as suicide (Halter, 2014, p. 227).
