Self Love And Self Esteem
It is very important for one to love himself. When you don t love yourself, it is hard
to expect others to love you. Agreed, we may have many faults and shortcomings.
But you must embrace yourself with all your faults and learn to love yourself. Self
love and self esteem are related to each other. If you suffer from low esteem, you
can t have enough self love. With low confidence, you will find it hard to love
yourself at first, because you don t think high of yourself. But as you start loving
yourself, your self esteem will be boosted and you ll have higher confidence. If
you want to love yourself, you need to make a conscious decision. It is a decision
that you have to make for a fulfilled and happy life. With low self esteem, you can
never reach your full potential. It is therefore a crucial task to love yourself. Here
are some tips that will help you complete this task: Understand yourself: If you
want your personality to grow, you need to understand yourself, and know what
makes you bloom. You may have many flaws, but you need to accept them and
move on. You should understand that nobody is perfect. Yes, even the most perfect
person you have met or idolised also has flaws. You are not the only one. Go ahead
and stand in front of a mirror. Admire your reflection and fall in love with yourself.
You might not be as important for others, but in your life story, you are the hero,
and your life revolves around you. Don t criticise yourself: Do you belittle yourself
over small things? Whenever you make any small mistake, do you get a voice
inside your head telling you that you are stupid and good for nothing? If that
happens a lot with you, you need to stop criticising yourself. It is important to look
at your positive points instead of focusing on the negative ones. Be positive and
kind: When you start thinking positive, you become kinder towards yourself and
your self love increases. With this, increases your self esteem and confidence.
Kindness towards others also helps. You need to love other people. If you feel
general hatred towards others, you ll turn out to be a bitter person, and this will
decrease your love towards yourself. Love others and try to help them. This will
make you feel better about
The Sagrada Familia
The Temple [of The Sagrada FamГlia] grows slowly, but this has always been the
case with everything destined to have a long life. Hundred year old oak trees take
many years to grow tall; on the other hand, reeds grow quickly, but in autumn the
wind knocks them down and there is no more to be said 1. These words, spoken by
Antoni Gaudi about his life long work, Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada FamГlia, are a
means to justify the extremely long time needed for the construction of the Sagrada
FamГlia, while referencing the themes and structural concepts he borrowed from
nature in his designs. While this logical explanation may give comfort to some, others
doubt the temple s eventual completion, as its construction has just passed 123 years,

Urquinouna i Bidot, the Bishop of Vic, the Captain General and other authorities,
the architect F.P. de Villar, members of the Association of Followers of St. Joseph
and various citizens and contributors. On the first stone was inscribed the words,
Awaken indifferent hearts from their slumber. Exalt the faith. Promote charity.
Invoke the Lord to have mercy on this country, and encourage by its Catholic roots
to think, preach and practice virtue. 1 The first architect of the project, Francisco de
Paula de Villar, originally designed the temple as a purely neo gothic structure. Less
than a year into the project, the budget again played a role in the future of the
Sagrada FamГlia, but this time it was clearly a change for the better. Del Villar
wanted to use ashlar columns in his design, a technique far more expensive than
building up the interior with rubblework, than covering them with ashlar. This started
arguments with the Foundation, who criticized De Villar for spending too much
unnecessary money on the project. De Villar resigned because he was not happy that
his plans were not being followed, and the foundation chose 31 year old architect
Antoni Gaudi as successor. Although the Foundation and Gaudi were equally excited
to be working together on this project, neither party had any idea just how
magnificent of a masterpiece they were destined to create.
Gaudi s plans adapted the work begun by de Villar
The Noh Theater
Imagine two mimes wearing masks and colorful robes, the image would not be too
terribly far off from a common Noh play. Originating in Japan during the fourteenth
century, the Noh Theatre uses few actors wearing colorful clothing and depictive
masks to perform beautiful plays pertaining to the afterlife. Due to the dark times it
came from and the sad way it was performed, NohTheatre is one of the most
dramatic of its time. O Donnell states the origins of Noh start in the Muromachi
period of Japan, which began in 1338 when Takauji overthrew Go Daigo as shogun,
the ruler of Japan. This period lasted from 1338 1573 and is known for its military
conflicts and intrigue. During the first 50 years of this period the north and south
were segregated, until the south agreed under the rule of a single shogun. In those 50
years multiple earthquakes struck Japan, draught and famine, and two new diseases
swept the nation killing thousands. In 1370 Yoshimitsu had taken the title of shogun,
introducing trade with China and forming new social classes. The prosperity did not
last long as the power struggle for shogun began the Onin War in 1467. After its
resolution smaller battles continued between those who wanted power and money, as
many shoguns spent time for their own good instead of governing their people (O
Donnell). Using two types of plays, sarugaku, which was mimicry, and kagura,
religious theatre; it is from these dark times that Kannami and his son Zeami created

Gambling In Canada
Considering the immense popularity of online gambling and taking into
consideration that land casinos are already legal in a number of provinces, it is high
time to end the legal charades. There many considerations here, but mainly the
Canadian public has continually moved pro gambling ever since provinces were
granted the right to choose back in the 1960s. It is important to take a look at the
absurdities regarding Provincial jurisdiction, as it relates to the internet, and how
offshore sites come into play. The Law is all Over the Map
Part of the big issue is that in Canada, gambling became legal before the advent of the
internet, which meant that things were simpler. From casinos, bingos, or lotteries,
every province had the right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, there are many legitimate companies, which allow for those living outside
its jurisdiction to register and play games, but not to make withdrawals. They are
able to get away with this, due to a very technical reading of the law. In Ontario, for
instance, the situation is even more bizarre. On the one hand the province has
removed the legal prosecution for those caught gambling online, but on the other
hand, confiscate all games earnings in order to fill the government coffers. These
days, one must look carefully to find a trusted online gaming company like 888casino.
Going Offshore
Even if Canada succeeds in clamping down on internet sites that are locally based,
what can they do in regard to the offshore companies? According to Dickinson
Wright, who is a prominent lawyer and expert in the gaming industry, the answer is a
lot can be done. While the lines between Canadian provinces might be on the gray
end of the law, dealing with offshore accounts is certainly not. If an offshore operator
accepts money from Canadians and enters into contracts with them, while advertising
within the country, then that is more than enough to bring them under Canada s legal
jurisdiction. What is holding up the

Basaltic Vs Rhyolitic Essay
Explain the differences between Basaltic, Rhyolitic and Andesitic volcanic eruptions
with reference to processes, which lead to the eruptions, the type of volcano produced
and the reasons for the differences between the material erupted by these volcanoes.
Volcanic eruptions are caused by a red hot liquid rock, called magma inside the
earth s core. Volcanoes erupt when magma rises to the surface of the earth, which
causes bubbles of gas to appear in it. This gas can cause pressure to build up in the
mountain, and it eventually explodes. When the magma bursts out of the earth, it is
called lava. The type of magma in the earth can create different volcanoes. If the
magma is quite thin, the gas can escape easily and there will not be an ... Show more

Fast occurs in the Pacific and slow in the Atlantic. Furthermore, there are plate
boundaries Beneath Continents that sometimes divergent currents occur beneath
continents in which the continent breaks apart, producing a rift valley e.g. the Great
African Rift Valley in East Africa. In a rift valley you find lakes and volcanic
activity e.g. Mount Kilimanjaro. In time the rift valley will develop into an ocean of
its own.
Lastly, there are Destructive Plate Margins and conservative plate margins.
Destructive Plate Margins are the places where the Earth s crust is being destroyed at
the same rate as they are being formed at the constructive plate margins. Oceanic
Convergence is where oceanic and continental plates meet. As oceanic plates are
denser they go down toward the Mantel; this is subduction. Sediments that have
accumulated at the bottom of the ocean form land mass as they rise as they melt due
to the magma, through the continental crust and then re appear as the continent. Also,
there is oceanic convergence. This is where two oceanic plates meet; one is forced
under the other. Oceanic trenches are formed and island arcs; (Hawaii). Lastly, there
are continental convergence where two continent plates meet and sediment is forced
up to form mountains. And, Conservative Margins are where two plates slide over
each other and there is neither creation nor destruction takes place. There is no
subduction or volcanic activity. However, the plates move
The Common Fallacies Of Reasoning
Common Fallacies in Reasoning The practice of allowing citizens to vote for their
leadership is currently used in two thirds of the world s countries. As such, it is
imperative to the basic freedoms of the public that those citizens are properly
educated on the matters they vote for. However, several cases of voter s remorse ,
such as that over the American presidency of Donald Trump or Britain s decision to
leave the EU, imply that more work needs to be done in this regard. A good starting
point might be to raise awareness of logical fallacies, strategies that the media uses to
sway opinion with implication rather than fact. Several examples of these logical
fallacies can be seen during the 2016 Presidential Election, leading up to the... Show

That s the Either/Or fallacy in action, where Trump is implying his policy to be a
strictly win/lose scenario, shutting down discussion of a potential compromise right
then and there. That s not supposed to be an admirable quality for the Presidency.
While this was going on, one would expect the Democratic candidate, Hillary
Clinton, to be more well recognized by voters. Unfortunately, her campaign was
haunted by scandals from her previous role as Secretary of State, such as storing
classified information on a private email server, and leaving potential deals with
foreign countries undisclosed. When questioned about it at a Presidential Debate,
Clinton tried to dodge the subject altogether:
Wallace: Secretary Clinton, during your 2009 Senate confirmation hearing, you
promised to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest with your dealing
with the Clinton Foundation while you were secretary of state, but e mails show that
donors got special access to you...Can you really say that you kept your pledge to that
Senate committee?
Clinton: Well, everything I did as secretary of state was in furtherance of our country
s interests and our values...But I am happy, in fact I m thrilled to talk about the
Clinton Foundation, because it is a world renowned charity and I am so proud of the
work that it does. (Medium)

Pressure Ulcer Snapshot Study
Decision: to increase the frequency of pressure ulcer assessment. Definition of
complex care in relation to case The expression complex care denotes the impact
multifarious diagnoses and their subsequent implications have on an individual, and
therefore the varying facets of care management required. This may be due to
physical, developmental, behavioural or emotional conditions requiring various long
term interventions to ensure survival and positive quality of life (McPherson et al.
1998). A more recent paediatric specific definition, taking into consideration the
advances in healthcare leading to both increased survival rates and progress in
medical technology, suggests that children with complex care needs may rely on long

To justify this option the nurse needed to be certain that this would be concluded
prior to the potential development of a pressure ulcer, requiring knowledge of how
quickly pressure ulcers can develop. National guidance regarding the necessity of
repositioning children at risk of pressure ulcers four hourly (NICE 2013) suggests
that immobility exceeding four hours influences pressure ulcer development,
however research into how quickly pressure ulcers can develop, particularly in the
paediatric population, is scarce. A frequently cited study into pressure duration
influence found external pressures exceeding a patient s diastolic blood pressure can
bring about a pressure ulcer within 6 hours, and pressure four times the systolic
pressure can bring about a pressure ulcer in under 1 hour (Reswick and Rogers 1976,
cited in Gefen 2008). Although etiologically useful, these findings could be
considered difficult to implement practically, given the complexity and feasibility of
measuring such pressures regularly in
Vulnerability of the Elderly Depicted in the Play, A Cream...
In the play A cream cracker under the settee I think the Alan Bennett is trying to
convey a message about what old age pensioners are really like and what there
thoughts are about modern life. The play was written in 1987 but the concerns of
elderly people remain the same. The Play is focused on a woman called Doris. She is
in late adulthood, widowed and lives by herself. Doris has no family or friends, she
has been given a cleaner called Zulema by the council. Zulema comes once a week
to clean Doris house. Doris was once married to a man called Wilfred but he died,
she often talks to him or at least, his photo, and about him. In my personal opinion, I
think Doris finds it easier to talk to Wilfred now he s gone: as they had... Show more

Doris doesn t have any neighbours or a phone (because she probably can t afford

her. Don t know anyone around here now. Doris doesn t think of herself as an old
person as she often refers to old people that smell and need a Zimmer frame, she
doesn t realise that she is an old person herself. Doris had a very distant and
isolated relationship with Wilfred when he was alive as they never talked about
there feelings, when Doris had her miscarriage I think Wilfred was scared of
showing emotion. The miscarriage has affected Doris as she says If it had lived, I
might have had grandchildren now. Wouldn t have been in this fix. when she says
this, she is calling the baby it I think she refers to the baby as it because of the
midwifes reaction. The midwife said he wasn t fit to be called anything and had
we any newspaper. Wilfred says he did (have newspaper)I think he said that
because I think he was trying to help and be useful, because I think he thought that,
that was the only way to be helpful. I think that as a result of it (the baby) dyeing,
led to obsession with cleanliness and hygiene, this makes us feel extremely
sympathetic towards Doris because she can t stop cleaning. Doris is scared of
having to go into Stafford House because she thinks everyone is crazy and smells. I

In this example the table shows where an employer was asked to hire more
employees in order to cover 100 departments with 30 different areas. Each new
employee would work in areas 1, 2, and 3. The area assigned to the employee
would be determined by the employer him/herself. The table above givens an
example of how it will go. Then the overall question would be how the assigned
areas would be split up.
When it comes to converting the table above into a graph to the answer, I am at a
little bit of a loss. The employee numbers 1, 2, and 3 would then be converted into
vertices D1, D2, and D3 and the different areas into A1, A2, and A3 which is shown
in the diagram below: In the diagram you have to replace the S s with D s and the C s
with the A s.
I believe the assigned areas would be given to the employees by the employer. An
employer would be assign to an employee by random. The employee would follow
the employer s number through the graph. This would start in area 1 and continue
on through 3. If you have 100 employers and 30 employees they would be assigned
in areas as 34, 33, and 33 this would allow all areas to be covered and the jobs

The career of being a Fashion Designer ?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a fashion designer? Hopefully
this will help you. The question is what exactly is a fashion designer. A Fashion
designer is one who creates or adapts original designs for clothing for men , women ,
and children. Most specialize in one particular type of clothing , such as women ,
dresses or men s suits , or in accessories such as handbags , hats , or jewelry. A
fashion designer job is very competitive , since you have other designers who
specialize in the same thing as you. What makes a fashion designer important? A
fashion designer is a great need in the world. We as humans need clothes for every
type of weather and occasion. Also clothes are made to express people personality.
Clothes are made so that we can be who we are and look stylish at the same time.
That the fashion designer job is to make the clothes unique and to hopefully fit
someone personality besides theirs. A fashion designer job is to create. Since the
fashion world is so widespread it is hard for a fashion designer to be unique. They
always have to keep up with
The Harbor s First Modern Grocery Store
All the harbor girls whispered in delight; gossiping, speculating and wondering
who would land the first date with this new guy. Rumors had it that he had started
work at the newly opened First National, the harbor s first modern grocery store.
Oh sure, there were fish markets and butcher shops and the likes, but mostly, folks
had milk, cheese and butter delivered, and the majority of women made their own
bread and put up their own vegetables and preserves. However, now with this new
grocery store, their basics could be purchased in one locale. The young man that
the girls were all buzzing about had only been in Cutler Harbor for two days or so,
no one had met him yet. It was Priscilla, who told Natalie; he lived in Damariscotta,

Owen looked professional in his freshly pressed, crisp, white smock. The aura of
his authority was exaggerated by the canned and dry goods, stacked high and

mouth dropped open, and her flirtatious eyes widened, followed by an exaggerated,
methodical blink. Her feet felt as if they were glued to the shiny tiled floor as she

many fishnets he d tied in his early years, in the center of things, as he kept a

Social Issue Poster Analysis Essay
For our Capstone Project, our CMST 1061 class retold a fairytale using the five
different communication pathways, and we retold Peter Pan. My group, Group #1,
was assigned the pathway of Public Discourse to retell Peter Pan. Following the
public discourse pathway, we chose to create social issue posters to serve as the lens
through which to view Peter Pan. We chose social issue posters as the method for our
capstone project because we felt that a series of social issue posters would leave a
stronger impression on the viewers, as well as communicate our message and
retelling in the clearest way possible. Social issue posters are used to deliver
messages directly and powerfully through visual impact and we wanted our project to

We wanted our retelling of Peter Pan to challenge the idea of protagonists and
antagonists in fairytales. There is an obvious antagonist in Peter Pan named Captain
Hook. Captain Hook is known for his hook prosthetic on one of his hands, and the
reason Captain Hook must use a hook as a prosthetic is because Peter Pan, the
protagonist, cut off Captain Hook s hand and fed it to an alligator. Many readers
and viewers of Peter Pan often ignore the merciless bullying and teasing towards
Captain Hook by Peter Pan, simply writing it off as the protagonist defeating the
antagonist for the greater good. Through this project, we wanted to illuminate the
character flaws in Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and Mr. Darling, to show that the
imperfect protagonists in a story can be just as tormenting as the antagonists. To
do so through the pathway of public discourse, we needed to create powerful
images to go along with our slogan for our series of social issue posters. We used
images from the story that conveyed the character flaws of the three chosen
characters, and then photoshopped the infamous hook prosthetic on to the hand of
each character. The hook is a symbol of evil in Peter Pan, so by adding the hook to
each character s social issue poster, we were able to provide a stronger and clearer
message that illuminated the wrong doings of each character. The social issue posters
allowed us to show our viewers, rather than tell them, the message that we wanted to
The Impact Of Marketing On Consumer s Choice And

Methodology Literature Review
Abdullah Almarzuqi
Central Michigan University
Introduction Consumer s decisions are mainly influenced by how well they know the
product. The appearance of the product too influences the consumer s choice and
behavior. This makes the firms to use branding as a way to increase customer s
awareness on their products. Branding is tending to be inevitable for the firms these
days. Branding has a great influence on consumer s decisions. Firms are getting a
greater challenge to ensure that they continuously remain up to date when it comes to
different forms of advertisement and marketing strategies. This ensures that they
acquire consumer s loyalty, increase the market share of their brands and increase the
volume of their brands they sell. In my research, I will use interview as a methodology
that I can use to get more information from the consumers. I will use interviews to
conduct research to come up with a summary of how well branding impacts the
decisions of a consumer. Branding can be defined as packaging of a product in
different ways so as attract more consumers by making it look more appealing. It
helps create a name, symbol or design of a product that differentiates it from the
others. The consumers can identify a product by its branding features. Interview is
research methodology that is used to acquire information from the respondents. It
involves asking the consumers questions directly and giving them a chance to provide
Three Main Reasons For The Fall Of The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire was a vast territory that expanded to three different
continents. They were a place of honor, tradition, and respect. Rome has had several
different periods, some of peace, and some of violence or unrest, but those were
solved quickly and effectively. However, such a magnificent empire could not hold
up under the strains that were slowly causing it to collapse. Rome began to face
many problems that together allowed the fall of the Roman Empire. The three main
problems that caused Rome to fall were invasions by barbarians, an unstable
government, and pure laziness and negligence. Though Rome was a great empire that
conquered countless territories, it was not immune to the numerous attacks from
barbarians such as the Huns, the Visigoths, the Vandals, and others. The barbarians
would raid and sack the capital and other cities in ancient Rome, leaving them
without money or tradable items. The Vandals did so much damage to the cities that
their name is associated with the crime of extensive damage to property. The Huns
were another destructive group of barbarians that were led by Attila. They raided
Rome in 451 AD, leaving an immense trail of destruction. Other barbarians attacked
Rome at different times, each leaving Rome weaker and helpless. Each attack
destroyed their economy and left them desperate for a solution. The Ostrogoths
finally caused the Western Empire to fall when Odoacer chased Romulus Augustus,
the last of the Roman emperors, off the
A Leader Is A Great Leader Essay
Leadership is when a person in charged where others look up to you. You have
responsibilities that others do not. Being a leader is a big responsibility in itself and
leaders take in account responsibility for their actions. You cannot be a great leader if
you do not know how to communicate. You must be able to communicate with your
teammates and get them on the same page. Leadershipis the ability to get a group to
come as one. Leaders see the big picture. Being a great leader is someone who is
trustworthy, respectful, responsible, honest. Someone who knows others are
watching therefore they live as a prototype of what is acceptable. They know they
are a role model for others and must not act any other way. Prime example to great
leaders that have been noticed are Olivia Pope from ABC drama, Scandal and Jay

Throughout the years, ladies have gained impressive ground in the working

Frankenstein: warning of the dangers of science or suggestion that the human quest
for knowledge is a noble undertaking? Human societies have come a long way from
the time of hunting and gathering. Self sufficient and possessing high capacity for
questioning what systems are currently in place, and the astonishingly unique ability
to discover solutions for problems; humankind is truly one of a kind. This distinctive
quality grants humanity the ability to innovate, improve on what already exists, and
create completely new things. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein the main character
Victor Frankenstein does just that, by creating his monster. Delving into the pages of
Frankenstein one can discover many underlying themes such as science and morality,
true monstrosity, and human thirst for discovery. Over the years many have posed
the question of whether Mary Shelley, in writing her novel, attempted to provide a
warning for future generations of the dangers pushing the confines of science, or
wanted to provide an undertone that the pursuit of knowledge is a noble
undertaking. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein she attempts to make her audience think
about the potential that science has on humans and society as a whole. Clearly there
is a message about the human use of science in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, but
due to unknown purpose of Shelley s novel this message is a simple development of
people s opinion over the course

When Jones was seven years old, his father sent him to live and be educated at the
local Catholic church. The elder Jones hoped that his son could receive a good
education and find opportunities. At this time, there were no nearby orphanages that
would admit an African American boy. Father Ryan, a Catholic priest, cared for Jones
and encouraged his interest in mechanics. Jones helped around the church and rectory
with cleaning, cooking, maintenance, and grounds work. Father Ryan informed
Jones, at the age of nine, that his father had died.
Jones exhibited an early passion for the mechanics of the automobile. He had an

Effective Communication For The Workplace
Someone once said great communication is a skill that is needed in life. I believe
great communication can take an individual very far in life. Effective communication
helps connect with people. It can open many doors for many jobs. It lets the employer
know whom they have hired, and how intelligent the person really is. In the business
profession, effective communicationenables managers to give understandable
instructions to their employees. Effective communication will help state what is
expected from workers. I believe effective communication can be used in all aspects
of the workplace.
First, Susan Adams from Forbes wrote Good grammar is important in life. Using
correct grammar in the workplace shows the intelligence of the worker. It also
shows how well thoughts are put together before speaking. Using good grammar
can also show employers that an employee can accomplish other tasks on the job
no matter what it is. For example the employee can be asked to give a formal
speech because the employer trusts that the employee will use the right language
when talking. Good grammar also shows the company that the employee cares
about his personal image, the company image, and that s what makes the company
stand out from other companies. Good grammar shows who the person is, for
example what type of establishment have they grown up around. It also shows what
type of people the company hires (Adams). Kyle Adams wrote in the Harvard

Essay On Islam In America
Islam has been around for over a thousand years. The religion has spread across a
few continents including America. A recent study demonstrates that there are around
7 million Muslims in the U.S. That compares to around 2.3% of the populace.
Despite the fact that the number is not large, it has been increasing in spite of the
attack of September 11, 2001. On that day, a lot changed for the Islamic individuals
living in the United States. Though the American Muslims had nothing to do with the
terroristic attack that happened on that day, their lifestyle was bound to change. The
change that happened was not in their religion, or the way they rehearsed it; it
occurred in the attitude of the non Islamic populace. An accusing finger was pointed
on the Muslims because the attacks were said to be conducted by Muslim radicals.
Generally, the media was the main place Americans would get detailed information

Good vs Evil in the Epic of Beowulf Essay examples
In the epic poem Beowulf, there is an obvious distinction between good and evil.
The hero and his foes play roles that are commonly associated with Anglo Saxon
literature. The lines are clearly drawn and expressed in the poem. As the story
moves, the reader cannot mistake the roles being played, based on the
characterizations in the epic, one recognizes each character for their purpose and
place. The epic is named after the hero, Beowulf, who is a man with gleaming armor.
(line 130) Because Beowulf is the strongest of the Geats greater than anyone in the
world he was called upon by his uncle Higlac, the king of the Geats, to save Herot
from the wrath of Grendel, a terrible monster. (lines 110 111) With him he carries...

Eventually, at a ripe old age, Beowulf finally suffers the wrath of the dragon. He
epitomizes the values of a warrior society which include bravery, loyalty, and
prowess in battle. As a bloodthirsty fiend, Grendel was the first of the foes Beowulf
battles. (line 407) He is a powerful monster, who was spawned in... slime. (lines 1,
19) He is a descendant of Cain, and chose to sacrifice the Danes to no one but
himself. Grendel is set on murder. (49 50) Nothing can quench his thirst for evil.
(lines 52 53) Grendel stalked Herot and set his wrath loose on all who came to the
hall. His mother, the she wolf lived in an underwater cavern. (line 572) She is the
water witch, one that no one s sword could slice her evil skin. (lines 493, 496 497)
Both characters are demons living only to hate, and cause terror in the hearts of
those who know of them. The third villain comes much later than the first two. The
dragon is Beowulf s last enemy, and last battle. The beast poured out fire and
smoke, and was one who coiled and uncoiled at the sight of a human. (line 673)
The dragon menaces Beowulf s kingdom and as an old man he is forced to fight
the beast. The antagonists are evil and uncaring of human life, each choosing to end
it when they please. They are bad and it shows. One night as Grendel decides to pay
a visit to Herot

While almost everybody knows how elegant whales can be, a lot of people do not

Symbols In The Lord Of The Flies
Symbols have a huge meaning in the world such as survival and books, like in The
Lord Of The Flies, written by William Golding. The author of this book shows how
symbols can be found in human nature and society as well. Throughout the book,
symbols can be seen being used by the author in different ways to help connect the
book with the aspects of the outside world. In the beginning of the book, symbolsare
shown by representing the important needs, yet the symbols progressively begin to
grow more meaning later in the chapters. Some of the important objects and
symbols at the beginning of the book are the conch and the fire. In chapter 1 Ralph
meets Piggy and begin to realize they are stuck on an island. A stone. No a shell,

no rules and they haven t been living in a good environment for some time.
Connections through symbols and today s world are shown and present in many
parts of the book, and the author does this to show that symbols have a deeper

Traditional Conception of God Who is God and does he actually exist? How do
we know that God is the Creator of everything? Can man live without God? Is God
as good as we were always taught to believe that He is? These four questions pulls at
the heartstrings of man and must be answered before someone commits fully to any
religion. In this paper, the author will share these four argumentative points proving
the existence of God. This paper is not meant to offend anyone or make someone

First, we must contemplate on the full extent and origin of religious desire and
religious experience. From the very beginning of time, man have been
extraordinarily religious. Proof of that extensive belief of religion is man s
creation of other deity s such as gods and goddesses, who are in form of animals
and women. Man has an unquenchable thirst to fully understand and to be able to
walk in the light of the divine which is why they create these deity s that they can
touch and communicate with . Man cannot live without God or the idea of God.
Saying that man could live without God is like saying that a watch could produce
itself without a watchmaker. God represents eternal life, which leads man to have
a desire to live eternally and persist beyond physical death. Many manmade
structures such as the pyramids and towers and also ancient rituals, such as Asian
ancestral worship, express the desire for a life that will never end. Another
example is man s questions about life such as, Why am I really here? , What is my
purpose in this world? , What is wrong with the world , and How can we fix it? We
all seek answers, want to know if wrongs would be righted, and are naturally good
spirited people. Asking questions and seeking the answers is part of our human
condition because we were created in the image of

Careful emptying of the plastic bottle was ensured to preserve accurate volume
measurements in the subsequent trials.
The mass of the empty, capped plastic bottle was determined using the analytical

burette by filling it completely (50.00 mL), then draining it carefully until 25.00
mL was left. This amount was added to the plastic bottle. The mass of the bottle
was measured again and recorded. This procedure was repeated once more for Trial

The Differences Between Homeland Security And

In the first half of this paper, I will be discussing the difference between Homeland
Security and Homeland Defense. I will be discussing the different roles that each
department handles, which include each departments missions, tasks, duties,
responsibilities, operations and other various issues that separate the two. I will also
address the responsibilities of both homeland security and Homeland Defense that are
shared between the two. Then I will use this information to provide my own
description of Homeland Security.
In the second half of this paper, I will be assessing the Critical Infrastructure

homeland security. (U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2009) I will then
provide my assessment on what I feel is working and what could be improved in our

What Were The Causes Of The First World War
By the fact, we know that there were four main causes, which led to the First World
War. Exactly, they are Militarism, Alliance, Imperialism, and Nationalism. Actually,
each of them had an influence that created the conditions to the First World War,
however imperialism created tension that became build up feature in Europe as well
as in outside of Europe. Owing to imperialism, those three causes (militarism, alliance
and nationalism) were able to influence to the beginning of the First World War.
Generally, imperialism is known as a kind of government that tries to build its size,
either by affecting different nations to submit to their principle. Despite the fact that
not all events that fall into the imperialistic classification were about controlling
another nation, they participated to the war, and imperialistic events were the

Distinctive events added to the weight prompted by the war, and prompted the three
different reasons for war by method for dangers, rivalry of force, and protection of
countries. Government made it feasible for this contention between nations to
develop, and it originated from the industrialist developments endeavoring to extend
and develop inside nations, predominantly in Europe. Albeit some may contend that
the other three patrons were the fundamental elements prompting WW1, none would
have happened without the acquaintance of colonialism with the
Euthanasia And Physician Assisted Suicide
Modern society often contemplates what death will be like. Will death be peaceful
or painful? How will our death affect the ones we love? It would seem that most
people would desire to die with dignity. Having the choice to die peacefully is a
valuable option that every human should be able to make for themselves. For those
with terminal illnesses or major health problems, assisted suicidecreates options to
reduce the amount of suffering the patient must enduring. Dying with dignity could
be beneficial for not only the person who is dying, but also the person s family and
loved ones. This option, however, is often viewed as unethical and immoral
throughout society. Physician assisted suicide offers an option for those with health
issues but poses various ethical and social issues. Assisted deathis practiced in two
different ways: euthanasiaand physician assisted suicide. The difference between the
two is who is preforming the act of killing. Euthanasia is preformed by the physician
causing the death. However, during physician assisted suicide, the physician gives
the patient the materials need to kill themselves (Boer, 24). Euthanasia is either
voluntary or active. Voluntary euthanasia is performed by a doctor or physician that
provides a lethal injection to end the life of a patient who has requested to die. Active
euthanasia is preformed by someone who is not a doctor or physician. Physician
assisted suicide is slightly different from euthanasia in that the doctor
The Shades Of Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
The Shades of Romeo and Juliet The main conflict in Romeo and Juliet is the feud
between the Montagues and the Capulets. In Act I, scene V; of Romeo and Juliet
the nurse and Juliet converse about how Romeo is a Montague or the son of your
great enemy (Shakespeare). Shakespeare says this because the nurse and Juliet are
both Capulets and Romeo is a Montague. The play Romeo and Juliet starts off with
the Montagues and their biggest rivals the Capulets, having a brawl in the streets of
Verona. Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, it is about two
young lovers that cannot be together because of the feuds between their families.

I ve always thought Romeo and Juliet was a powerful way to address the tragedy
within the black community, Scott said. You have these warring factions that
have forgotten why they are even fighting. In the play the young lovers die, and it
causes the two families to step back and reconsider what they are doing. But in
urban Black America, it does not seem to matter who dies or how many die the
violence continues (The City Paper). Although Romeo and Juliet, does not
mention anything about race, many people look at it like a racial conflict because
African Americans and whites did not always get along and some of them still do
not today. This play cam symbolize modern day gangs because of the Montagues
and the Capulets violence between them, and today we have modern day gangs that
have an ongoing conflict between them. Also, this play can represent the racial
conflicts, because in Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo and Juliet dies the two
families both take a step back and realize how ridiculous their feud is
(Shakespeare).Shakespeare states that, for the Montagues and the Capulets to get
over the feud they have, it takes a death of their son and daughter. However, our
society today does not back down when something bad happens they rebel back and
cause more violence between themselves and other
American Satire Examples Of Satire
In the Netflix mockumentary series, American Vandal, created by Dan Perrault, the
main character Dylan Maxwell, an 18 year old senior at Hanover High School was
held responsible for performing vandalism on 27 cars causing $100K worth of
disfiguring. Everybody believed that Dylan was in charge of the destruction, despite
the fact that he claimed innocence. Instead, they thought Alex Trimboli, the
eyewitness, Ms Shapiro, the Spanish teacher and everyone else that claimed he was
behind the vandalism were speaking the truth. They put Dylan as the prime suspect
based on his past with Ms Shapiro and furthermore because they believed he was
capable of committing such crime. The examples of satirethat the creators used were
humour, exaggeration and irony. A diversion was utilised to make the show
enjoyable for young people, yet with the use of satire, they could influence teenagers
to appreciate the show while accepting a genuine message about how a false
allegationagainst anyone could destroy their lives. Many of the people in the show
were biased against rebellious teenagers which was something that Dylan was
known for being. In the mockumentary, Dylan Maxwell was accused based off his
image, his past, as well as his lifestyle. A significant number of the students that
were requested to share their opinion said that what Dylan had to state did not make
a difference since he was imbecilic and so forth. The thesis of the show is never to
prejudge a personbased on their past.
Historical Places On The Western Front Essay
(Introduction) The historical site of the Western front that house the trenches and
memorials attributing to the battles fought between the two opposing forces in WWI,
is significant in aiding our understanding of the past. The memorials of some of the
battles that happened on the Western front such as the Gallipoli battle, the Battle of
Somme at Beaumont Hamel and the Battle at Vimy ridge, establishes a sense of
national identity for the countries that fought, along with expressing their
achievements, sacrifice and history for the modern generations to contemplate on.
(The Western Front) The Western Front was a stretch of land around 400 mile. Many

The soldier writer Charles Carrington said, The Somme battle raised the morale of
the British Army. Although we did not win a decisive victory there was what
matters most,a definite and growing sense of superiority, man to man...We were
quite sure we had got the German beat. (M.Brown , Somme where in France
,History today,July 2006,Vol. 56 Issue 7,pp22 4) The Battle of the Somme is one
of the biggest battles that symbolized the true horrors of WWI,hence symbolizing
the true nature of the first world war. The Western front acts as a medium for the
modern world to understand the true gore and horrors of the war. Modern Author
Frank Barrett and Sarah Nicholson said, THE enormity of the number of soldiers
killed during WWI has left an indelible mark on the landscape The site acts as a
reminder of the true horrors and violence that could arise from a war hence a
reminder for the modern world to NOT let such a tragedy from happening again. (The
Jwaideh Nationalism Essay
During this period, Kurdish nationalist movements were intertwined with Islamic
establishments and figures because of their unique ability to disseminate Kurdish
propaganda and ideology and mobilize Kurds. Without Islam, Kurdish nationalism
never would have been utilized and become such a formidable, active, and persistent
force against its Turkish, Persian, Arab, and British opponents. With the spread of
religious orders throughout the Kurdistanregion, Sufi Islam flourished, thereby
creating an environment hospitable to nationalist indoctrination. The Naqshbandi and
Qadiri brotherhoods were the most popular of the orders and possessed major
political and social influence. While the two orders maintain doctrinal differences
regarding proper prayer, self mortification, and transfer of spiritual authority,
structurally, they contained two extremely important elements that made Kurdish
nationalism possible: lodges and shaykhs.
First, Sufi lodges were the spaces where nationalism was promoted and
comprehended within an Islamic context. For example, Jwaideh insists, The
importance of the takiyas [religious orders] as centers for the dissemination of
nationalist ideas can scarcely be exaggerated. The ideas emanating from these focal
points found ready and wide acceptance among the Kurds, for they bore the stamp of
the shaykhs great learning and impeachable religious authority (105). In these lodges,
students not only learned about the Qur an and the hadith, but they

  • 3. Self Love And Self Esteem It is very important for one to love himself. When you don t love yourself, it is hard to expect others to love you. Agreed, we may have many faults and shortcomings. But you must embrace yourself with all your faults and learn to love yourself. Self love and self esteem are related to each other. If you suffer from low esteem, you can t have enough self love. With low confidence, you will find it hard to love yourself at first, because you don t think high of yourself. But as you start loving yourself, your self esteem will be boosted and you ll have higher confidence. If you want to love yourself, you need to make a conscious decision. It is a decision that you have to make for a fulfilled and happy life. With low self esteem, you can never reach your full potential. It is therefore a crucial task to love yourself. Here are some tips that will help you complete this task: Understand yourself: If you want your personality to grow, you need to understand yourself, and know what makes you bloom. You may have many flaws, but you need to accept them and move on. You should understand that nobody is perfect. Yes, even the most perfect person you have met or idolised also has flaws. You are not the only one. Go ahead and stand in front of a mirror. Admire your reflection and fall in love with yourself. You might not be as important for others, but in your life story, you are the hero, and your life revolves around you. Don t criticise yourself: Do you belittle yourself over small things? Whenever you make any small mistake, do you get a voice inside your head telling you that you are stupid and good for nothing? If that happens a lot with you, you need to stop criticising yourself. It is important to look at your positive points instead of focusing on the negative ones. Be positive and kind: When you start thinking positive, you become kinder towards yourself and your self love increases. With this, increases your self esteem and confidence. Kindness towards others also helps. You need to love other people. If you feel general hatred towards others, you ll turn out to be a bitter person, and this will decrease your love towards yourself. Love others and try to help them. This will make you feel better about

Hundred year old oak trees take many years to grow tall; on the other hand, reeds grow quickly, but in autumn the wind knocks them down and there is no more to be said 1. These words, spoken by Antoni Gaudi about his life long work, Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada FamГlia, are a means to justify the extremely long time needed for the construction of the Sagrada FamГlia, while referencing the themes and structural concepts he borrowed from nature in his designs. While this logical explanation may give comfort to some, others doubt the temple s eventual completion, as its construction has just passed 123 years, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Invoke the Lord to have mercy on this country, and encourage by its Catholic roots to think, preach and practice virtue. 1 The first architect of the project, Francisco de Paula de Villar, originally designed the temple as a purely neo gothic structure. Less than a year into the project, the budget again played a role in the future of the Sagrada FamГlia, but this time it was clearly a change for the better. Del Villar wanted to use ashlar columns in his design, a technique far more expensive than building up the interior with rubblework, than covering them with ashlar. This started arguments with the Foundation, who criticized De Villar for spending too much unnecessary money on the project. De Villar resigned because he was not happy that his plans were not being followed, and the foundation chose 31 year old architect Antoni Gaudi as successor. Although the Foundation and Gaudi were equally excited to be working together on this project, neither party had any idea just how magnificent of a masterpiece they were destined to create. Gaudi s plans adapted the work begun by de Villar

Originating in Japan during the fourteenth century, the Noh Theatre uses few actors wearing colorful clothing and depictive masks to perform beautiful plays pertaining to the afterlife. Due to the dark times it came from and the sad way it was performed, NohTheatre is one of the most dramatic of its time. O Donnell states the origins of Noh start in the Muromachi period of Japan, which began in 1338 when Takauji overthrew Go Daigo as shogun, the ruler of Japan. This period lasted from 1338 1573 and is known for its military conflicts and intrigue. During the first 50 years of this period the north and south were segregated, until the south agreed under the rule of a single shogun. In those 50 years multiple earthquakes struck Japan, draught and famine, and two new diseases swept the nation killing thousands. In 1370 Yoshimitsu had taken the title of shogun, introducing trade with China and forming new social classes. The prosperity did not last long as the power struggle for shogun began the Onin War in 1467. After its resolution smaller battles continued between those who wanted power and money, as many shoguns spent time for their own good instead of governing their people (O Donnell). Using two types of plays, sarugaku, which was mimicry, and kagura, religious theatre; it is from these dark times that Kannami and his son Zeami created Noh theatre

Gambling In Canada Considering the immense popularity of online gambling and taking into consideration that land casinos are already legal in a number of provinces, it is high time to end the legal charades. There many considerations here, but mainly the Canadian public has continually moved pro gambling ever since provinces were granted the right to choose back in the 1960s. It is important to take a look at the absurdities regarding Provincial jurisdiction, as it relates to the internet, and how offshore sites come into play. Secondly, there are many legitimate companies, which allow for those living outside its jurisdiction to register and play games, but not to make withdrawals. They are able to get away with this, due to a very technical reading of the law. In Ontario, for instance, the situation is even more bizarre. On the one hand the province has removed the legal prosecution for those caught gambling online, but on the other hand, confiscate all games earnings in order to fill the government coffers. These days, one must look carefully to find a trusted online gaming company like 888casino. Going Offshore Even if Canada succeeds in clamping down on internet sites that are locally based, what can they do in regard to the offshore companies? According to Dickinson Wright, who is a prominent lawyer and expert in the gaming industry, the answer is a lot can be done. While the lines between Canadian provinces might be on the gray end of the law, dealing with offshore accounts is certainly not. If an offshore operator accepts money from Canadians and enters into contracts with them, while advertising within the country, then that is more than enough to bring them under Canada s legal jurisdiction. Basaltic Vs Rhyolitic Essay Explain the differences between Basaltic, Rhyolitic and Andesitic volcanic eruptions with reference to processes, which lead to the eruptions, the type of volcano produced and the reasons for the differences between the material erupted by these volcanoes. Volcanoes erupt when magma rises to the surface of the earth, which causes bubbles of gas to appear in it. This gas can cause pressure to build up in the mountain, and it eventually explodes. As such, it is imperative to the basic freedoms of the public that those citizens are properly educated on the matters they vote for. However, several cases of voter s remorse , such as that over the American presidency of Donald Trump or Britain s decision to leave the EU, imply that more work needs to be done in this regard. A frequently cited study into pressure duration influence found external pressures exceeding a patient s diastolic blood pressure can bring about a pressure ulcer within 6 hours, and pressure four times the systolic pressure can bring about a pressure ulcer in under 1 hour (Reswick and Rogers 1976, cited in Gefen 2008). We wanted our retelling of Peter Pan to challenge the idea of protagonists and antagonists in fairytales. There is an obvious antagonist in Peter Pan named Captain Hook. Captain Hook is known for his hook prosthetic on one of his hands, and the reason Captain Hook must use a hook as a prosthetic is because Peter Pan, the protagonist, cut off Captain Hook s hand and fed it to an alligator. Many readers and viewers of Peter Pan often ignore the merciless bullying and teasing towards Captain Hook by Peter Pan, simply writing it off as the protagonist defeating the antagonist for the greater good. Through this project, we wanted to illuminate the character flaws in Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and Mr. Darling, to show that the imperfect protagonists in a story can be just as tormenting as the antagonists. To do so through the pathway of public discourse, we needed to create powerful images to go along with our slogan for our series of social issue posters. We used images from the story that conveyed the character flaws of the three chosen characters, and then photoshopped the infamous hook prosthetic on to the hand of each character. The hook is a symbol of evil in Peter Pan, so by adding the hook to each character s social issue poster, we were able to provide a stronger and clearer message that illuminated the wrong doings of each character. The social issue posters allowed us to show our viewers, rather than tell them, the message that we wanted to

Branding is tending to be inevitable for the firms these days. Branding has a great influence on consumer s decisions. This ensures that they acquire consumer s loyalty, increase the market share of their brands and increase the volume of their brands they sell. In my research, I will use interview as a methodology that I can use to get more information from the consumers. I will use interviews to conduct research to come up with a summary of how well branding impacts the decisions of a consumer. Rome has had several different periods, some of peace, and some of violence or unrest, but those were solved quickly and effectively. However, such a magnificent empire could not hold up under the strains that were slowly causing it to collapse. Rome began to face many problems that together allowed the fall of the Roman Empire. The three main problems that caused Rome to fall were invasions by barbarians, an unstable government, and pure laziness and negligence. Though Rome was a great empire that conquered countless territories, it was not immune to the numerous attacks from barbarians such as the Huns, the Visigoths, the Vandals, and others. The barbarians would raid and sack the capital and other cities in ancient Rome, leaving them without money or tradable items. The Vandals did so much damage to the cities that their name is associated with the crime of extensive damage to property. The Huns were another destructive group of barbarians that were led by Attila. They raided Rome in 451 AD, leaving an immense trail of destruction. Other barbarians attacked Rome at different times, each leaving Rome weaker and helpless. Each attack destroyed their economy and left them desperate for a solution. The Ostrogoths finally caused the Western Empire to fall when Odoacer chased Romulus Augustus, the last of the Roman emperors, off the

Human societies have come a long way from the time of hunting and gathering. Self sufficient and possessing high capacity for questioning what systems are currently in place, and the astonishingly unique ability to discover solutions for problems; humankind is truly one of a kind. This distinctive quality grants humanity the ability to innovate, improve on what already exists, and create completely new things. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein the main character Victor Frankenstein does just that, by creating his monster. Delving into the pages of Frankenstein one can discover many underlying themes such as science and morality, true monstrosity, and human thirst for discovery. Over the years many have posed the question of whether Mary Shelley, in writing her novel, attempted to provide a warning for future generations of the dangers pushing the confines of science, or wanted to provide an undertone that the pursuit of knowledge is a noble undertaking. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein she attempts to make her audience think about the potential that science has on humans and society as a whole. Clearly there is a message about the human use of science in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, but due to unknown purpose of Shelley s novel this message is a simple development of people s opinion over the course

Effective communication helps connect with people. It can open many doors for many jobs. It lets the employer know whom they have hired, and how intelligent the person really is. In the business profession, effective communicationenables managers to give understandable instructions to their employees. Effective communication will help state what is expected from workers. I believe effective communication can be used in all aspects of the workplace. First, Susan Adams from Forbes wrote Good grammar is important in life. Using correct grammar in the workplace shows the intelligence of the worker. It also shows how well thoughts are put together before speaking. Using good grammar can also show employers that an employee can accomplish other tasks on the job no matter what it is. For example the employee can be asked to give a formal speech because the employer trusts that the employee will use the right language when talking. Good grammar also shows the company that the employee cares about his personal image, the company image, and that s what makes the company stand out from other companies. Good grammar shows who the person is, for example what type of establishment have they grown up around. It also shows what type of people the company hires (Adams). A recent study demonstrates that there are around 7 million Muslims in the U.S. That compares to around 2.3% of the populace. The change that happened was not in their religion, or the way they rehearsed it; it occurred in the attitude of the non Islamic populace. Man has an unquenchable thirst to fully understand and to be able to walk in the light of the divine which is why they create these deity s that they can touch and communicate with .
