Standing at the gates of Holby South prison, Serena Campbell felt numb, she still didn t know why she
was here, what possessed her to accept the visitation card, she ignored all previous ones. They had
even been a ten year gap when she did not hear from him. Yet, something triggered her to make this
visit after so many years.
It all seemed like a blur the process of booking in, having her body and belongings searched, to
putting her things in a locker. It felt like it did not happen, and as soon as she grasped a sense of
reality, she found herself stood in the visitor s room, surrounded by criminals and their loving family
visitors. Even though she had not seen him for forty years, she could pick out her father like a shot.

Rhetorical Analysis: Peculiar Benefits by Roxane Gay In this article Roxane had lead me through a
pathos appealing reading that aroused many feelings and emotions towards the aspects of her lingering
thoughts and perspectives of privileges being different and that the way people used the word it is seen
as it has become white noise. My goal in this paper is to analyze her discussion, as Gay begins with
her credibility; with personal facts; reputable sources; citing convincing opinions, and successfully
employing emotional appeals. However, her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

future leaders of the world are working to make things favorable so that the apparent mistakes made in

relative and contextual. Few people in this world, and particularly in the United States, have no

The Importance Of Population Differences
Geographers have different factors to focus on when trying to understand why there are differences in
the world s population. Crude birth rate, crude death rate, natural increase rate, life expectancy and so
on. Each of those are methods used by geographers to measure population. Geographers should not
only look at those methods when trying to figure out the population differences. Some social factors
like the economy, culture, lifestyle and the government contributes in the differences in population.
Crude birth rate and life expectancy are the two most important indicators that can help a geographer
understand why is there differences in the population.
Crude birth rate is an immensely important factor because not in all courtiers a woman is having up to
seven children. According to statista Niger is a country with the highest crude birth rate because
women are estimated to have 6.76 children per women. However, China has the largest population in
the world and in the Washington post it states that China allows couples to only have two children. It
is also mentioned that although the government allows couples to have two children most people only
have one child. People in China prefer to just have one child because is extremely costly. In the
Washington post it indicates that to prepare a child to succeed in the country s competitive schools and
workplaces, parents must invest lots of time and money in a child for schooling, extracurricular
activities, and outside tutoring, often for college entrance and English proficiency exams . This type of
factors makes the difference in population. The economy is not the same around the world and in the
countries that are poor women do not health care and that means they can not be put on birth control.
Crude birth rate explains why some countries population is bigger than others. If women in some
countries are having 5 and more children the population is going be higher than in countries that
women are having one child. In this case, China can not be included because although you are allowed
to just have two children, China was already over populated and had to come up with the one child
policy. I believe that if China stick to just having one child and Niger s

A World Of Calamity, By Ross Gay
Ross Gay s book Against Which, portrays his poetry to readers allowing them to gain understanding of
the cruel world that one lives in. Moreover, the unusual brutalities that people are inevitable
confronted with in life. The common denominators within Gay s poems such as violence, love, fear,
and loss allows the reader to visualize characters transformation within his poems. In a world of
calamity, Gay has created poems that portray the corporal conforming to gender and sex but also
human development. Using a reader response criticism lens, I will be demonstrating my interpretation
of Ross Gay s poems and the meaning that I believe to be a common interpretation of his work.
Within, Gay s poems, It Starts at Birth and Angels Out of Reach one is able to see a pattern of human
transformation. By experiencing pain, love, loss, fear, and wisdom one is able to see Gay s characters
evolve through the narrators and readers gaze. In doing so, one is able to reflect on Gay s poems and
gain wisdom themselves. Gay s poem It Starts at Birth demonstrates a title that starts at the
establishment of ones life, while portraying new experiences, that one gains while enduring life.
However, the poem itself illuminates the title of his book Against Which. This close analysis of the
title guides the reader through a serious of evaluation and guides the reader to one question, against
which? Throughout the poem, the repetition of the tittle repeats ten times. For example, against which,

The Role Of Cultural Diversity On The Identity Of The...
No matter where people come from they all have a different story or a background that makes them
unique from others. Everyone is raised differently, giving them characteristics that make them who
they are. Culture plays a major role in defining and shaping the identity of the person that you have
become because of the way you were raised and taught. The cultural diversity that helps define
individual backgrounds in which it sets everyone apart. Every culture has their own morals and values
that they believe in for instance the way how they see education as and the things that they believe is
acceptable or not. Cultural background is what made you different from others because of the way
how you were raised and the experiences that you have gone through which have taught you to
become who you are now.
I was born in China even though I only lived there for a year it s still a part of me that had impacted
me a lot. I grew up in a family that takes education as a top priority. Ever since I was little my parents

to get upset due to my parents using a strong tone explaining the importance of obtaining a good

The Buckminster Fullerene Is The Third Allotropic Form Of...
In general, the Buckminster Fullerene is the third allotropic form of Carbon, with the other two being
Graphite and Diamond. The more proper term used to describe these compounds in regards to Carbon
compounds would be Graphenes. (22)
The Buckminster Fullerene was first discovered in 1985 by scientists Harold Kroto, Rickard Smalley
and Robert Curl. (1) They were able to discover that when Graphite is vaporized by a laser, a variety
of large Carbon cluster compounds were formed, the C60 compound or Buckminster Fullerene, being
the most abundant. (1) The other Fullerenes found were C28 C32, C44 and C78. The C60 compound
was named after Buckminster Fuller, as he was responsible for the creation of many geodesic domes,
which resemble ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This involves setting up an arc between two graphite electrodes and using a stream of inert gas, such
as Helium. (1) This causes the Carbon to form vapors, which then condenses into the C60 Fullerene as
well as additional types of Fullerenes. Source: S. Chuanchen, G. Haibin, F. Dufei, Extraction of C60
cluster ion beam, Review of Scientific Instruments, 65, 1405 1407 (1994).
Due to the cage like structure formed during the synthesis of the Fullerene, the compound is able to
trap small molecules of the inert gas within the structure. The general formula used to represent a gas
enclosed within the structure of the Fullerene is nX@C60, where n is the number of trapped atoms and
X represents the trapped gas. (1) The interior diameter of the C60 compound is 7.09Å, which is large
enough to trap a variety of the noble gases including Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton and Xenon. (##)
In addition to trapping gases, the Fullerenes are also able to hold metal ions within the structure. Since
the C60 compounds have a high electron affinity, they can readily accept electrons from alkali metals.
The compounds that are formed from the enclosure of metal ions are known as Endohedral
Metallofullerenes. (1) Examples of alkali metals that can be placed inside the C60 compound include
Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium and Caesium. For the alkali metals, the formula would resemble,
M3C60. (1) The process of putting the alkali metals inside the C60

The Writer s First Line Generator Summary
The Writer s First Line Generator is a website that has some computer generated assistance if you are
writing. This week wordpress has been encouraging a daily post of flash fiction and it helped me
identify a direction I could take to write my flash fiction post of two days ago.
However, yesterday I went back to the site to see if I could mine it more for inspiration. It suggested
an introduction very, very similar to my post of the twenty fifth. This is what it had for me:
The afternoon when my brother murdered his wife, I became a millionaire s tailor.
I was unhappy that what seemed promising to get some flash fiction rolling was quickly becoming
redundant.
Frankly, this sentence seems a little strange; it was refreshing to have a jump off point two days ago
for flash fiction, but the same general composition would likely result if I went from there. However,
tonight, I m thinking about it, and suddenly I realize I can go to the Content Creation Tool below.
Basically, Spinbot alters a composition so that a substantial numbers of words among the whole of the
piece are turned into different words. The result is amusing, somewhat ... Show more content on

The mogul by necessity becomes less important and interesting than the less powerful character, the
tailor. The mogul s behaviour is less important overall than the tailor s behaviour, because the story is
that of events in the tailor s life as they relate to he or she (and entertain the reader). Whereas in reality
a mogul might have more of an impact than the life of a tailor, in fiction that tailor may be more
clearly defined as the protagonist and therefore of greater relevance to the story going forward from
the introduction suggested by the Writer s Line Generator. A reader could well be moved more by
circumstances in the life of a tailor if the reader is involved in the

Dentist Observation
The second year student I observed was very organized and passionate while helping her patient.
Since this was the last of four visits she had with her patient, she was sweet enough to purchase baby
socks for him because his wife was expecting in a few weeks. I loved how personal she made his
experience at the clinic. He said the only reason he was visiting a dentist for the first time in over
fifteen years was to set a good example for his soon to be son. From what I could tell, the student was
ergonomically correct for the majority of the appointment. Her body positions were different than
when I observed another student during my first observation.
I. Preparation: I did not come in early to watch the set up of the unit for this appointment because I
arrived an hour early in my last observation, and I feel pretty comfortable setting up and wiping down
the unit. The student reviewed everything in the patient s chart even though this was her fourth
appointment with him. The treatment area, the maxillary left quadrant, needed local anesthetic before
progressing forward with the procedure. She got a short needle ready for an injection to check off on

risk factors were discussed with the patient, but he was extremely apprehensive about his mandibular
right canine. It was out of alignment and bleeds profusely whenever he brushes and flosses. All of his
other teeth bleed, but not nearly as bad as that specific tooth. The patient was really trying to take care

Erin Brockovich Axis Of Privilege
In social interactions, people often categorize one another, which in turn creates and reproduces
systems of privilege. Individuals holding power often retain the cycle of categorization to maintain
their privilege, but by doing so, cast outliers or people belonging to multiple groups at a disadvantage
as their multiple classifications may fall at different axis of privilege. Axis of privilege refers to the
concept that one classification can put an individual in a favorable or less than favorable position
depending on the dichotomy of the classification. For example, we acknowledge being black and
being a woman as two distinct categories that place individuals with a disadvantage in society, but we
never reconcile the doubled disadvantages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an unemployed single mother of three with no education, life is already hard, but becomes even
more difficult when she becomes injured in a traffic accident, having to health insurance. Referred to
another law firm in her attempt to sue for compensation, Erin meets the lawyer, Ed Masry, who
reluctantly takes on her case as it is slam dunk in which she was at no fault. However, in cross
examination, the opposing attorney discredits Erin s reputation, using her unemployment and two
failed marriages against her. The opposing attorney attempts to blameshift the cause of the accident to
Erin as his client is a wealthy white male neurosurgeon who could not possibly be capable of driving
recklessly, and therefore Erin must have been responsible for the crash since she is a desperate woman
looking for a meal ticket. Erin loses her temper in light of these false allegations, especially since she
was a victim in the crash, and consequently, loses her case. Erin s loss exemplifies how
intersectionality along with the matrix of domination factor into every facet of our lives, including the
court system a system that supposedly achieves blind justice; but clearly, Erin s position as an
outspoken woman living in poverty, created a system of injustice in which she could not prevail.
Temporarily disabled from the accident with no money for food, a sick daughter, and cockroaches
roaming around her floor, Erin takes action and demands that Masry give her a position at his law
office as he reassured her beforehand that everything would be fine. Masry, taking pity on her
situation, gives her a job with no benefits and has very low expectations due to her temper and
unprofessional attire that exposes her assets. Within the office, Erin is also dismissed by her co
workers and becomes ostracized in such that the other women in the office exclude her

Sifaka Research Paper
The Coquerel s Sifaka (Propithecus verrauxi coquerii) is a species of lemur found exclusively in
Madagascar. Their bodies are covered in thick, coarse fur that is white on their torsos and dark reddish
brown on their fore and hindlimbs, with dark faces and white noses. P. coquerii are a diurnal species of
folivorous and frugivorous primates that live in either deciduous or evergreen forests, and typically
weigh 3.4 3.6 kg. Females are dominant over males, and they typically congregate in one male one
female mating pairs or multi male multi female social groups. Males will compete for dominance in
order to be able to mate with females in the group. Lemurs exhibit more scent marking behaviors than
most other primates, and use their throat, wrist, and anogenital glands to scent mark their habitats and
signal to other lemurs. The Bronx Zoo has two adult Coquerel s sifakas in its exhibit, one male and
one female. The exhibit is the first that guests see in the zoo s Madagascar hall, which houses ring
tailed lemurs, red ruffed lemurs, and other animals from the region. The Coquerel s sifaka exhibit

Fear Of Friday The 13th Paraskavedekatriphobia
Approximately every 212 days Friday the 13th occurs, while some may stay in bed all day to avoid the
bad luck, others will embrace it and joke about the superstitions. Friday the 13th has many
superstitions around the day. Some fear the day Friday, others may ear the number 13, while others
fear the combination of Friday and 13. Psychologists have named the fear of Friday the 13th
paraskavedekatriaphobia. Many have a fear of this day from myths, religious beliefs, and even human
research.
One origin of the superstition of Friday the 13th occur due to Dan Brown s The Da Vinci Code. In his
book on Friday 13, October 1307 hundreds of Knights Templar were arrested and burnt across France.
Knights Templar were a religious group of unmarried men who came together to protect Christians
during the Crusades. Christians then began showing thanks through giving them their land and money
which made the kings very wealthy. 1307 French King Phillip IV was running out of money so he
decided to go after the Templars money. He accused the men of heresy and arrested them. A popular
theory is that the Templars discovered the Holy Grail or a unorthodox religious secret. Another
popular theory is that Templars became the Freemasons.
A religious superstition of Friday the 13th is Catholic belief. Judas, an apostle that was said to betray
Jesus was the 13th guest at the Last Supper. Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday. The combination
of 13 on a Friday causes Catholics to be very fearful

Feminity and Sexual Desires in The Storm by Kate Chopin
The Storm is a story Written by Kate Chopin. The time at which the story was set is in the 19th
century. The story was set in Louisiana and in real sense, Louisiana is a place that is best known for
violent storms. The story is about is a confrontation of the theme of femininity and complexities of the
married people in the storm. The storm is used throughout the story, and it only ends after the
characters, Alcee and Calixta s sexual encounter, which brings out the theme of femininity, and sexual
desires. Kate Chopin opens her story with the storm brewing, which keeps Calixta s husband away
from her stormy passions. She makes the storm so natural that one can never foreshadow what the
storm symbolizes. The storm is always depicted as something dangerous, and destructive, but Chopin
depicts the storm in her story as something that is good, and fulfilling. The characters were happy, and
fulfilled after the storm ended instead of it causing destructions. Chopin introduces of theme of
femininity, and its complexities in marriage, a theme which she later develops throughout the story
using the image of the storm. She presents the image of the Storm in its natural life when she says, the
storm kept Bobinot away from his wife Calixta, because he had to stay in the general store, until it
ends. However, one has to search for the real meaning of the story as it extends. Chopin uses the
image of the storm in the story. There is an underneath meaning of the storm in this story

The Importance Of Being A Manager During Times Of Success...
Introduction:
The following Case Analysis details the many aspects of being a manager during times of success and
struggle. Ron Bent, a plant manager at Engstrom Auto Mirror plant in Indiana, implements a bonus
incentive plan in order to raise morale and productivity in his company. The following analysis will
demonstrate how at its inception, the plan is successful in its goals, but eventually starts to decline
when a downturn hit the industry. In this paper, several recommendations will be made on whether or
not the Scanlon plan should be abandoned, and strategies Ron Bent can take to increase performance
at the Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant.
Analysis: The Scanlon plan was introduced in the 1930 s by Joseph Scanlon, an accountant and
member of the Steelworkers union (2). The Scanlon plan that Engstrom used focused on cost saving
and higher production, which would then increase labor savings. Adapting the plan is a long process,
and Bent made sure 75% of employees were on board. Engstroms version encouraged suggestions at
all levels, and encouraged input to help productivity. The plan focused on transparency of financial
and business data to all ranks of the organization (2). With transparency, allowing suggestions, and an
encouragement of new ideas, Bent believed that the plan would provide a source of intrinsic
motivation to employees of Engstrom. As stated earlier, Bent ensured that at least 75% of his
workforce agreed to the plan. By doing so, he was examining the

profound disgust. It merely depends on the context of the whole ordeal as not all vices are created

My Statement Of Purpose For Chemical Engineering
Learning Chemistry, Maths and Physics never got me tired. I ve started to experience enthusiastic
feelings towards those subjects during my high school as I was acknowledged to proceed with my
upper school in science stream. I couldn t agree more that being a science student is very challenging
as it involves critical thinking which relates with the theories and practical. However, after a couple of
months of learning, I came to realize that I have been intrigued by those subjects despite the
challenging parts of understanding. Hence, I really look forward to further my studies in Chemical
Engineering which involves deeper understanding of those subjects.
Out of so many branches of courses in science and engineering, Chemical Engineering has caught my
eye. I strongly believe that our world in the future needs more Chemical engineer due to its
unsustainable development. Our world today has made many modern inventions which lead to a more
comfortable life than what it was before. Skyscrapers, transportation, mobile phones and thousands of
sophisticated machines were invented to make life worth living. However, most people neglect the
downside which may occur due to those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chemical engineers play a vital role in the lives of everyone. For instance, they transform raw
materials into something useful, analyse our food and purify our water for safe consumptions,
generate electricity from fossil fuels, make plastics and most importantly make something more
efficient which will have less impact to the environment. Without their hard work, a sustainable
development is hard to be achieved. In 2050, it is estimated that the world population will increase up
to 9.6 billion people. Of course, we never wished to see our future generations life being threatened by
the long haul unfriendly impacts created by us. Our acts determine the future. Therefore, I want to be

Government In 1984
The novel 1984 is a political story with the purpose to warn the readers about the dangers of a
totalitarian government. It really shows everyone that if there is a bad appearance, it will lead us to
poor language. Then, when inadequate language comes, we think faulty thoughts. In the novel 1984
by George Orwell, there is no expression of freedom. The government in 1984 has control over people
by controlling the information. People have no access or memory of history from the past, which
allows the Party to control their understanding about the past which would influence their thoughts in
the present and the future.
This problem has to do with the fact that the government (The Inner Party) controls every source of
information. The Party can

Designing A Science Fair Project
In the seventh grade, I faced a challenge dreaded by many: designing a science fair project. I
researched some ideas, and found myself drawn to working with medication. I came up with a simple
experiment; it compared the dissolution rates of generic and brand name drugs. Before the experiment,
I knew virtually nothing about drugs, but as I did more research, I was intrigued. I discovered that
people debated the effectiveness of brand name versus generic drugs. It made no sense to me. How
could two drugs with the same active ingredients work differently? I was genuinely curious as to what
my results would be. What began as a tedious requirement soon became a captivating task. Because I
was interested in my topic, I truly enjoyed designing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, I changed my major to biochemistry at the end of my freshman year.
I spent the rest of college knowing I wanted to be a pharmacist. I studied and obtained my Pharmacy
Technician certification and license at the beginning of my sophomore year and became employed a
few months later. Ever since, I ve experienced constant affirmation that pharmacy was right for me. I
felt more motivated to attend and study for my classes because I actually enjoyed what I was learning.
I had classmates who detested our biology and organic chemistry classes, but I was hooked. I was
captivated by the way drugs interact with the neurotransmitters in our body and how even the most
minute changes to chemical structure can completely change the route of action of a drug. The more
upper level courses I took, the more reinforced my decision to pursue pharmacy became. It just felt
right. During my time working as a technician, I have interacted with multiple pharmacists at different
retail pharmacy locations. Because of this, I observed how pharmacists interact with patients and
gained experience adapting to different clientele to best fit their needs. I love the feeling of instant
gratification that I get when I am able to help a patient. Through my experience, I realized that
pharmacist s play a vital role in patient care. I have seen how pharmacists counsel patients and create

The United States And The Holocaust
What exactly was the difference? He wondered to himself. And who decided which people wore the
striped pajamas and which people wore the uniforms a quote from The Boy with the Striped Pajamas.
The Holocaust was a genocide, the intentional killing of certain group or ethnicity, that affected the
Jewish community worldwide through sorrow and sympathy of their people; and kibitzers who chose
to watch until under pressure. A perfect example was the United States who stood on the sidelines,
while the horrific events of the Holocaust were occurring. The United States had played a negative
role in the Holocaust due to a lack of aid, immigration, and publication.
During the Holocaust there was a lack of aid from America to those suffering in Europe. President at
the time of the Holocaust, Franklin D. Roosevelt, had been leading a country of antisemitism, meaning
to be against the Jewish. As mention in The Us and the Holocaust Project Group: Antisemitism page
by Lauren Freeman, Antisemitism was habited with in Congress, and the general public of the United
States; which will be further elaborated later in the paper.
By the time the Holocaust had come into play America was already filled with people who had a
prejudice against the Jewish, believing that all Jews were greedy and dishonest, found in the article
The Us and the Holocaust Project Group: Antisemitism. Although full of antisemitism, the U.S. also

The Unwritten History of Cave Paintings Essay
Religious stories and scientific theories have tried for thousands of years to accurately date the
formation of man. However, in the 1860s, a new art was discovered that changed the view of human
creation forever. This new insight was cave painting. Cave painting is a form of prehistoric art that
dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Analysts are unable to specify the reasoning behind these
paintings of objects on cave walls, but many theories have been formulated to surmise the rational
behind the art. Questions arise like, why did man find a need to paint the walls of caves and is this part
of the foundation of the origin of human life as we know it? (Beacon) The ecumenical belief is rooted

The methods used to create have proven themselves more useful in dating the art than the work itself.
The natural objects used have withstood time better that the art. In the earlier times of the paintings,
fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time,
respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists
began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to
create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to
preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required
sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem
imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create
the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed
their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different
clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found,
people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after
finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to

crucial to the growth in the field of forensic science as a whole. Without DNA evidence, many cases
may not be prosecuted and many innocent people could still be incarcerated. DNA has cleared many
innocent people serving time in prison. It is a huge factor in finding the true perpetrator in a crime.
Additionally, databases are becoming larger and more widespread to include most if not all areas in

Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac Essay
Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac
====================================
Both of the two stories, Country Lovers and The Gold Cadillac reveal racism. It is not a particularly
hidden message. But the two of them approach it from slightly different angles. Country Lovers shows
that the story is based around racism in the first paragraph: [the black children are] beginning to call
their old playmates missus and baasie
little master . Within the Gold Cadillac, the racism is a little better concealed. We don t know that the
main family are black for sure, until line 166, after Wilbert (the father) has said he is going to go down
to Mississippi and Mr. Pondexter say Not much those folks hate more n to see a northern Negro ...

Another possible reason is that it may show other black people, that if they too work hard, they can
achieve something great, The American Dream.
In Country Lovers, it is obviously about racism from line 10 onwards.
We are constantly finding out how the white people have a far better life than the black people: in
education, belongings, housing, and general life. For example, while Thebedi and Njabulo live in a hut
Njabulo had built in white man s style, with a tin chimney, and a proper window with glass panes set
in straight as walls made of unfired bricks would allow , the farmer and his son lived in a house
thick walled, dark against the heat.
It is interesting to note that Njabulo has attempted to copy the white man s house, but doesn t have the
resources available. The way we are told, it seems that having a proper window is something he is
very proud of. However the white man has big thick walls on his house, which appear to act as a form
of barrier from anything to do with the black world.
At the end of the Country Lovers story, we find that the farmers son is allowed to get away with
murder, and that the press and public congratulated for him. He won the case, because Thebedi had
decided that it wasn t worth it, as white people run the court, that she can t win. One very effective
method for talking about racism in The

Identification Szymborska
The endless altering matters of society remain controversial among its many spectators; nevertheless,
Wislawa Szymborska views these matters as vacuous dictations. Szymborska confronts her
perspective of society through her recurrent theme of mockery and wit, in which cultivates a comical
aspect of her poetry. The comical aspects throughout some of Szymborska s poetry exploits the
changing standards of society, the dictation that society places on an individual, the false sense of
comfort that is provided by society, and the true state of oblivion that society resides in. This
scrutinization of society remains within an underlying tone of ridicule and aversion, which is
conveyed through Szymborska s a vast amount of devices, such as juxtaposition, ... Show more

This state of denial can be prominently depicted within Szymborska s poem, Identification. The poem
presents a chronological experience of a woman s developing emotions as she rejects the fact that her
husband had past away. The false sense of security resides within this poem, as the repetition of it s
good you came, presumably attempts to formulate a positive motif throughout the morbid poem(1, 17,
23). The comfort of others conceals the genuine emotion of loneliness, as the death of a loved one
creates a false sense of reality; therefore, the constant reminder that someone else was with the
recipient of the bad news, reminds them that they are not completely alone in the world. Furthermore,
the sense of denial is continued through the hope of objects just being ordinary, such as, a scrap of
shirt, a watch, [and] a wedding ring. Szymborska uses this asyndeton in order to create a sense of
irony, as the objects become more specific as the names on that ring (10); nevertheless, this creates a
false sense of comfort for the aspect that anyone could own these objects, in which portrays the
yearning for a confirmation that the speaker s loved one was not affiliated with this tragedy.
Szymborska s use of the euphemism, rubber sleeping bag, facilitates the endeavor to maintain the
attempted positive motif, despite the rubber sleeping bag referring to a body bag (24). The body bag
provides a false sense of a lighthearted connotation of a sleeping bag to being the cruel reality of
death. Throughout Identification, Szymborska mocks the oblivion and denial of the woman despite the
morbid context of the poem. Through this method Szymborska further implies that one should face
reality. Precisely as society should not be dictated without truly analyzing the true intention of

The Between Vigne s And Davis s Accounts
Davis s monograph demonstrates the complexity of the story that Vigne failed to incorporate as well
as to point out the differences of the interpretations between Vigne s and Davis s accounts. Davis
provides a detailed description of the two trials of the accused imposter. The first trial occurs at a local
court in Rieux, where the imposter is charged with stealing another person s identity and
impersonating Martin s life, while in the film the trial occurs in the same village of Artigat. Pierre
Guerre, Martin s uncle, presents the charge of imposture. Davis argues that Bertrande implies her
support for the accusation with the hopes that Pierre would lose the case against the imposter.
Bertrande proceeds to protect herself by coaching the imposter covertly while publicly supporting the
move by Pierre. Specifically, Davis asserts that the couple worked out a plan to follow during the trials
to counter Pierre s arguments. Bertrande either by explicit or tacit agreement ... helped him become
her husband (Benson 44). The trial declares the imposter guilty of the crime and sentence him to
death, but he appeals the case. After the trial, according to Davis, there was a scheme by the couple to
show Pierre coerced Bertrande into lying for him. Consequently, Davis interprets Bertrande s actions
as a double game. Bertrande first sends him [the imposter] food and money to indicate her support, but
then she agrees with Pierre that she will become a plaintiff (56). Davis shows

The Argument For The Legality Of US State Laws
Right now, somewhere in the world, in the united states, and even this specific state, there is thousands
of innocent dogs living in inhumane conditions that are unfit for healthy substance. They do this
legally, and illegally, and those doing it legally are almost the worst because state laws condone it. The
legislature recognizes that they specifically include, and exclude specific requirements, or restricts
entirely. These dogs not only life in obscene conditions, but they are also there for one specific
horrifying purpose of breeding, but not just regular breeding. These dogs are essentially transformed

known chains. There are so many ways everyone can help stop this trend. Stop buying dogs, and start
adopting them. 2 million puppies are born each year in puppymills while 1.2 already living dogs are
killed each year in shelters since they have been abandoned and forgotten. Simply adopting dogs from
shelters lessens the reason for breeder s to breed the dogs. Not supporting puppy store directly effects
puppy mills, along with saving the sweet dogs that were left in the shelters. 22 states in the US have
no laws in regards to puppy mills, while the remaining states have laws in place that almost always
aren t held up and are almost comical. The plaid zebra shows a graph that breaks down the different
states laws, while the ASPCA once again breaks this down state by state with what the states specific

What Is Comfort Zone Essay
Comfort zone is a situation where one feels safe and at ease. It is a type of behaviour that keeps us at a
steadily Low anxiety level. Something that we do all the time, like taking the bus to school, watching
television programmes and checking out social media platforms are part of our comfort zones. These
everyday activities that we are used to will not make us feel anxious and uneasy. We like to stay in our
comfort zone even though we are bored of being in the comfort zone. When we see the struggle that
others go through to achieve something in life , we will be scared of the numerous challenges that we
may face. However, it is important that we leave our comfort zone for self improvement so as to

Getting out of our comfort zone is crucial and it will benefit us. One of the benefits is that we will find
it easier to push our boundaries in the future. Once we start stepping out of our comfort zone, it gets

White s propaganda had kernels of truth which allowed the story to spread easier including field tests

successful in terrifying German soldiers that it helped convince leaders to change their plans of attack

short. Quality is scientifically immeasurable and therefore cannot or must not be defined. However
this does not mean it doesn t exist or that it cannot be justified. I now invite you to picture a world
where good and bad has been removed. On the principles of realism, a thing exists of a world cannot
function without it normally . I will attempt to show you the way in which this principle applies to the
existence of quality. A world without good and bad would be meaningless and without purpose. Art,
sports, dance, comedy, flavor, in fact all that relies on the senses would be ruined. The masses would
not be able to tell what was good from bad, funny from boring, bland from savory; life would be
utterly boring. Although the world can function without quality it clearly cannot function normally,
therefore, quality indeed exists regardless if it is defined or not. In fact Quality is what makes up
reality, it is the parent of knowledge, the source of all subjects and objects.
Plato: Such a notion is ridiculous. Truth is based on fixed and defined principles. What you describe as
quality are ever changing sensory experiences and therefore cannot be justified without a preceding

Medical Practice Initiative
Medical Practice Initiative. One of the main drivers of the Medical Practice Initiative (MPI), aside
from patient safety, is the acquisition, maintenance, and minimization of cognitive and psychomotor
skill decay of healthcare personnel. A primary focus is maintenance of military and medical skills
throughout a caregiver s career (7). There is some crossover between the CCTI and the MPI as both
apply to healthcare providers, but the MPI is more closely tied to Role 3 through Role 5 skills and
procedures as well as common skills and procedures performed by non military healthcare providers
during routine care delivery. Capability gaps addressed and identified as subsets of MPI are: Fostering
Clinical Excellence Competency and Certification; Patient Variation (Anatomical) and Pathology
Scenarios; Training Measurements Metrics and Evaluation Criteria; and Patient Safety. Fostering
Clinical Excellence Competency and Certification There remain many questions regarding how and
why individuals learn. The optimal methods to train and educate an individual need to be studied, as
well as team training for optimal outcomes. Inserting multiple variables into individual training further
complicates the issue. The See One, Do One, Teach One method has been used in the past, however,
with simulation systems, the model should move toward See Many, Do Many, Teach Many as it is
understood that simulation systems are relevant for novices as well as for experts providing

Hurricane Katrina
Datrel Johnson
Professor Peter Johnson
Geography 101
25 August 2013
Describe Hurricane Katrina Beginning in the 1950s, the United States have witnessed two Category
Five Storms and seven Category Four Storms naming Hurricane Katrina as one of the most deadly
Category Four hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina dismantled
several sections of the levee which caused it to collapse. The storm then breeched the New Orleans
levee system allowing Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River to flow in the heart of the city.
Furthermore, a tremendous amount of damages occurred throughout the coast of Mississippi and
Alabama. The state of Louisiana sustained most of the damages not just from Hurricane ... Show more

After Hurricane Katrina, ten months later, jobs plummeted to an average loss of 95,000. During the
month of November 2005, employment had dropped to 105,300 below the previous year s figure.
(Dolfman pg. 7) Furthermore, Hurricane Karina in doubt did cause more damage to the economy than
expected. The hurricane affected 19% of U.S. oil production. (Dolfman pg. 7) Hurricane Katrina
completely destroyed 113 offshore oil and gas platforms, occurs damages to457 oil and gas pipelines,
and spilled as much oil compared to the Exxon Valdez oil disaster. This devastating event caused oil
prices to increase $3 a barrel, and gas prices sky rocketed to $5 a gallon. (Dolfman pg. 7) Lastly,
Hurricane Katrina s impact struck Louisiana s sugar industry, totaling an estimate of $500 million in
annual crop value. (Amadeo) There are two main concepts to prevent another devastating event as
Hurricane Katrina which are plan/prepare and thorough disaster drills. First and foremost, we cannot
prevent nor anticipate disasters; therefore, we shall prepare and practice for crisis as such. When
everyone knows which critical functions are required for restoration then this could provide a
tremendous amount of confidence in life threatening situations. The very basic principles of planning
we all should be familiar with could save the lives of millions. Next, conducting thorough disaster
drills should always be

Some social factors like the economy, culture, lifestyle and the government contributes in the differences in population. Crude birth rate and life expectancy are the two most important indicators that can help a geographer understand why is there differences in the population. Crude birth rate is an immensely important factor because not in all courtiers a woman is having up to seven children. According to statista Niger is a country with the highest crude birth rate because women are estimated to have 6.76 children per women. However, China has the largest population in the world and in the Washington post it states that China allows couples to only have two children. It is also mentioned that although the government allows couples to have two children most people only have one child. People in China prefer to just have one child because is extremely costly. In the Washington post it indicates that to prepare a child to succeed in the country s competitive schools and workplaces, parents must invest lots of time and money in a child for schooling, extracurricular activities, and outside tutoring, often for college entrance and English proficiency exams . This type of factors makes the difference in population. The economy is not the same around the world and in the countries that are poor women do not health care and that means they can not be put on birth control. Crude birth rate explains why some countries population is bigger than others. If women in some countries are having 5 and more children the population is going be higher than in countries that women are having one child. In this case, China can not be included because although you are allowed to just have two children, China was already over populated and had to come up with the one child policy. I believe that if China stick to just having one child and Niger s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a world of calamity, Gay has created poems that portray the corporal conforming to gender and sex but also human development. Using a reader response criticism lens, I will be demonstrating my interpretation of Ross Gay s poems and the meaning that I believe to be a common interpretation of his work. Within, Gay s poems, It Starts at Birth and Angels Out of Reach one is able to see a pattern of human transformation. By experiencing pain, love, loss, fear, and wisdom one is able to see Gay s characters evolve through the narrators and readers gaze. In doing so, one is able to reflect on Gay s poems and gain wisdom themselves. Gay s poem It Starts at Birth demonstrates a title that starts at the establishment of ones life, while portraying new experiences, that one gains while enduring life. The more proper term used to describe these compounds in regards to Carbon compounds would be Graphenes. (22) The Buckminster Fullerene was first discovered in 1985 by scientists Harold Kroto, Rickard Smalley and Robert Curl. (1) They were able to discover that when Graphite is vaporized by a laser, a variety of large Carbon cluster compounds were formed, the C60 compound or Buckminster Fullerene, being the most abundant. Dufei, Extraction of C60 cluster ion beam, Review of Scientific Instruments, 65, 1405 1407 (1994). Due to the cage like structure formed during the synthesis of the Fullerene, the compound is able to trap small molecules of the inert gas within the structure. The general formula used to represent a gas enclosed within the structure of the Fullerene is nX@C60, where n is the number of trapped atoms and X represents the trapped gas. This week wordpress has been encouraging a daily post of flash fiction and it helped me identify a direction I could take to write my flash fiction post of two days ago. However, yesterday I went back to the site to see if I could mine it more for inspiration. It suggested an introduction very, very similar to my post of the twenty fifth. This is what it had for me: The afternoon when my brother murdered his wife, I became a millionaire s tailor. I was unhappy that what seemed promising to get some flash fiction rolling was quickly becoming redundant. Frankly, this sentence seems a little strange; it was refreshing to have a jump off point two days ago for flash fiction, but the same general composition would likely result if I went from there. As mention in The Us and the Holocaust Project Group: Antisemitism page by Lauren Freeman, Antisemitism was habited with in Congress, and the general public of the United States; which will be further elaborated later in the paper. By the time the Holocaust had come into play America was already filled with people who had a prejudice against the Jewish, believing that all Jews were greedy and dishonest, found in the article The Us and the Holocaust Project Group: Antisemitism. • 28. The Unwritten History of Cave Paintings Essay Religious stories and scientific theories have tried for thousands of years to accurately date the formation of man. However, in the 1860s, a new art was discovered that changed the view of human creation forever. This new insight was cave painting. Cave painting is a form of prehistoric art that dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Analysts are unable to specify the reasoning behind these paintings of objects on cave walls, but many theories have been formulated to surmise the rational behind the art. Questions arise like, why did man find a need to paint the walls of caves and is this part of the foundation of the origin of human life as we know it? The methods used to create have proven themselves more useful in dating the art than the work itself. The natural objects used have withstood time better that the art. In the earlier times of the paintings, fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time, respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found, people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to have been over a thousand of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac Essay Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac ==================================== Both of the two stories, Country Lovers and The Gold Cadillac reveal racism. It is not a particularly hidden message. But the two of them approach it from slightly different angles. Country Lovers shows that the story is based around racism in the first paragraph: [the black children are] beginning to call their old playmates missus and baasie little master . Within the Gold Cadillac, the racism is a little better concealed. In Country Lovers, it is obviously about racism from line 10 onwards. We are constantly finding out how the white people have a far better life than the black people: in education, belongings, housing, and general life. For example, while Thebedi and Njabulo live in a hut Njabulo had built in white man s style, with a tin chimney, and a proper window with glass panes set in straight as walls made of unfired bricks would allow , the farmer and his son lived in a house thick walled, dark against the heat. It is interesting to note that Njabulo has attempted to copy the white man s house, but doesn t have the resources available. The way we are told, it seems that having a proper window is something he is very proud of. However the white man has big thick walls on his house, which appear to act as a form of barrier from anything to do with the black world. At the end of the Country Lovers story, we find that the farmers son is allowed to get away with murder, and that the press and public congratulated for him. He won the case, because Thebedi had decided that it wasn t worth it, as white people run the court, that she can t win. One very effective method for talking about racism in The ... • 31. Identification Szymborska The endless altering matters of society remain controversial among its many spectators; nevertheless, Wislawa Szymborska views these matters as vacuous dictations. Szymborska confronts her perspective of society through her recurrent theme of mockery and wit, in which cultivates a comical aspect of her poetry. The comical aspects throughout some of Szymborska s poetry exploits the changing standards of society, the dictation that society places on an individual, the false sense of comfort that is provided by society, and the true state of oblivion that society resides in. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This state of denial can be prominently depicted within Szymborska s poem, Identification. The poem presents a chronological experience of a woman s developing emotions as she rejects the fact that her husband had past away. The false sense of security resides within this poem, as the repetition of it s good you came, presumably attempts to formulate a positive motif throughout the morbid poem(1, 17, 23). The comfort of others conceals the genuine emotion of loneliness, as the death of a loved one creates a false sense of reality; therefore, the constant reminder that someone else was with the recipient of the bad news, reminds them that they are not completely alone in the world. Furthermore, the sense of denial is continued through the hope of objects just being ordinary, such as, a scrap of shirt, a watch, [and] a wedding ring. Szymborska uses this asyndeton in order to create a sense of irony, as the objects become more specific as the names on that ring (10); nevertheless, this creates a false sense of comfort for the aspect that anyone could own these objects, in which portrays the yearning for a confirmation that the speaker s loved one was not affiliated with this tragedy. Szymborska s use of the euphemism, rubber sleeping bag, facilitates the endeavor to maintain the attempted positive motif, despite the rubber sleeping bag referring to a body bag (24). The body bag provides a false sense of a lighthearted connotation of a sleeping bag to being the cruel reality of death. Throughout Identification, Szymborska mocks the oblivion and denial of the woman despite the morbid context of the poem. Through this method Szymborska further implies that one should face reality. The Between Vigne s And Davis s Accounts Davis s monograph demonstrates the complexity of the story that Vigne failed to incorporate as well as to point out the differences of the interpretations between Vigne s and Davis s accounts. Davis provides a detailed description of the two trials of the accused imposter. The first trial occurs at a local court in Rieux, where the imposter is charged with stealing another person s identity and impersonating Martin s life, while in the film the trial occurs in the same village of Artigat. Pierre Guerre, Martin s uncle, presents the charge of imposture. Davis argues that Bertrande implies her support for the accusation with the hopes that Pierre would lose the case against the imposter. Bertrande proceeds to protect herself by coaching the imposter covertly while publicly supporting the move by Pierre. Specifically, Davis asserts that the couple worked out a plan to follow during the trials to counter Pierre s arguments. Bertrande either by explicit or tacit agreement ... helped him become her husband (Benson 44). The trial declares the imposter guilty of the crime and sentence him to death, but he appeals the case. After the trial, according to Davis, there was a scheme by the couple to show Pierre coerced Bertrande into lying for him. Consequently, Davis interprets Bertrande s actions as a double game.
