Persuasive Essay On Hurricane Harvey
As our city grieves in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, a category four hurricane that hit Houston as a
tropical storm, our nation is left battling economic and social concerns that will impact the future of
both Texas and America as a whole. As many areas of Houston are transitioning from relief to
rebuilding, our politicians and local leaders need to take hard look at the best path moving forward.
Despite tensions between Texan politicians and the national government, it is to our benefit that we
turn to federal funding to provide for our people. Though we are Houston Strong and were able to act
quickly in helping our neighbors immediately following the devastation, it is imperative that we work
cohesively with the national government to make Texas stronger for the long run. As we begin moving
forward we need to ask ourselves, Do we want to rebuild sooner or better?
As we re trying to move from relief to recovery and rebuilding, it s nearly imperative that we look
back to unveil why this widespread flooding occurred in the first place. If we trace back to the
research of engineers in the 1990 s, it was recorded that the reservoir system was inadequate and
endangered thousands of lives and properties (Thompson). Arthur Storey, Harris County s Flood
Director in 1996, coins the wreckage that lies before us as a massive governmental and engineering
failure (Thompson). Research suggests that we foresaw the potential damage, yet failed to invest in
modern development

Extreme Human Emotions are the Sole Product of Biological...
It has been claimed that human emotions are the sole product of biological functioning. The James
Lange Theory of Emotion (1884) proposes that there are three components of emotions which can be
attributed to the automatic nervous system (ANS). The three components are Cognition (appraisal of
the event), Action (Fight or flight) and Feeling (Aspect of the emotion). Here we see that a biological
attribution of emotion has been in place since the 1800s and has been common knowledge for some
time. This essay will assess and examine evidence that has been provided to support the idea that
emotions are the product of biology.
Certain areas of the brain have been identified when studying fear. The amygdala is involved in
processing emotions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional Memory also exists which isn t conscious (Claparede, 1911). When studying patients with
amnesia, it was found Claparede would introduce himself to a patient every day and she would not
remember ever meeting him previously. He began to hold a pin when shaking hands with her which
would cause her pain. Although the woman could not remember the man each day, she began to refuse
to shake his hand due to fear of being hurt. This showed that the patient could not form new memories
but the brain can ensure that the systems related to fear can override cognitive processing when
encountering a threat.
As we can see, the brain plays a strong role in producing fear responses. Additionally, there are
physical indicators of fear too. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the fight or flight
affect producing increased heart rate and breathing. This in turn produces behavioural and
psychological responses such as feeling fearful and changes in facial expression. These biological
responses are caused by information within the brain which strongly suggests that fear is a product of
biological functioning.
Another important human emotion to look at is anger which is essential for communication and
responding to threats. Deffenberger (2002) defines anger as coping resources that are available to the
individual. When studying the brain, the amygdala is active in related to anger. Dopamine and
adrenaline are

The Shift From Modernity To Postmodernity
Modernity
Describe the main features of the shift from modernity to postmodernity
Post modernity or post modernism as coined during the counter culture era of the 1960s and 70s has
been highly contestant, ever since it was first used describe the death of modern architecture and art
during the same period. It is this debate of being in a state of modernity or post modernity that will
lead me to describe the shifts in cultural, economic and political views and values that demonstrates a
shift in values from modern to post modern views sociy. This shift to post modernity has been highly
influenced through the works of postmodern artists and architects and academics such as Focult
(Venn, C., Featherstone, M. 2006), Burroughs, Barthelme, Rauschenberg and Cage (Clarke, S. 2006),
who all describe modernity being an exhausted idea, due to the shift of values changing society to a
period of post modernity.
In this essay I will argue that we are now living in a new age of post modernity by describing and
explaining the transition of modernity to post modernity by analysing the social dimensions that
modernity has shifted from to postmodernity. I will also look at the main features of both modernity
and postmodernity and explore their features to draw the conclusion that postmodernity is not a new
era but a new social movement of different views and perspectives.

Analysis Of Adp As A System For Federal Mogul
Analysis of ADP as a HRIS System for Federal Mogul
Now that we have taken a look at the minimum required hardware and software of the ADP system,
let s examine ADP as a Human Resource Information System, or HRIS for short. A great HRIS system
provides critical data about the human resource function of the business as well as helping to create a
follow through on the business s mission and goals. HRIS systems help to reduce organizational costs
by contributing to the efficiency of the human resource management function. HRIS systems help to
automate critical human resource management functions (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 58).
HRIS systems contain information on employees, job and work conditions, positions, payroll and
benefits, and HR events such as recruitment, training, development, performance appraisals, and
terminations (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 59). Although ADP offers all of these features,
Federal Mogul utilizes ADP specifically for the payroll and benefits function.
APD s payroll system is a very complete system that works in conjunction with Federal Mogul s
timekeeping systems. Many Federal Mogul facilities utilize Kronos for attendance and timekeeping,
including the Sparta, MI location where I work. In order for Kronos and ADP to work together, there
is a custom interface as mentioned earlier that extracts the data from Kronos, and then it is converted
into an EPIP file which can ultimately be loaded into ADP to create the payroll record for each

Camping Is A Outdoor Activity That Is Enjoyed By Many Each...
Camping is a outdoor activity that is enjoyed by many each year. Family, friends and strangers, come
together to enjoy the great outdoors. Where the musical sounds of Mother Nature s symphony
orchestra sings you her lullaby as you fall asleep. The warmth from the fire warms your heart as you
listen to stories of ghost, creatures, and goblins that the smoke seems to form into as it fades into the
midnight sky. This is what I picture when I think about camping until I interview Ryan Oiler about it.
Ryan Oiler grandparents introduce him to camping when he was just two years old. Ryan (now 20) has
camped out at the Pocono s, Valley Forge, and even the senator s baseball field when he was in the
Boy scouts. Ryan stated he cannot imagine life without camping. With a big smile as he first started

make sure you spray it with waterproofing spay so it does not get wet from the morning dew or worst

drastically. The weather can be 90 degrees during the day and drop to the 70 s at night depending on
the camp site. The food surprising just doesn t consist of chocolate bars, marshmallows, and graham

Snowden Pros And Cons
In June 2013, Edward Snowden leaked secret files on the PRISM Program, a shady program millions
of American never even knew existed. Four years ago, Snowden released numerous files regarding the
NSA s PRISM Program that only a handful of people knew about. Why it is an important issue you
may ask, well honestly you re being watched by our beloved government while we live out our private
lives. This PRISM program should be ended because it invades privacy, violates the constitution, and
weakens the trust we put in our government. To begin, the PRISM program should be shut down
because it invades privacy. Through metadata, data that gives off information, but it basically gives

Freedom And Liberty In Colin Woodard s American Nations
Colin Woodard s American Nations outlines the eleven contrasting cultures inside the North American
continent. Within these separate cultures are contradicting views regarding freedom and liberty.
Comprehension of the distinctions of these cultures is fundamental when evaluating the ongoing
disputes between the rival nations. The Southern nation societies, including the Deep South and
Tidewater, were constituted based on the foundations of ancient Athens which established their
political philosophies around the Latin concept of libertas, or liberty. Liberty is defined by Woodard
as, holds that people are born into bondage, that liberties are granted as a privilege, that most people
are not capable of self governance, and that only a very

Complications Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution (1789 1799) had significant, far reaching implications. In Britain it permeated
every level of society. Not only did politicians change their allegiances, but moderate reformers were
radicalised, and British society was completely divided into supporters and detractors of the
Revolution. It also resulted in a drastic politicisation of Ireland, changing the nature of politics
completely. The British government was threatened by the French Revolution because they saw what
was happening in France and saw the beginnings of the process in their own country. The prospect of
a revolution of that scale in Britain was unthinkable and something had to be done.
The initial reaction to the French Revolution in Britain was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The ideological issues raised by the French Revolution served as a catalyst for British domestic
politics subsequently leading to the development of a Tory Party in Britain as those who followed
Burke followed him to William Pitt the Younger who established the first Tory government. Pitt s
initial lacklustre reaction to the Revolution had changed rapidly with the growth of radicalism in
Britain, especially after Thomas Paine published his Rights of Man in 1791, condemning it as a
monstrous doctrine . This new Tory government that had been established was much less tolerant of
reformers in a time where radical reformers were far more common and were feeding off the energy of
the French Revolution.
In the 1770s, a movement for parliamentary reform began in Britain under the leadership of middle
class men such as John Cartwright and Christopher Wyvill. When the Revolution in France began in
1789 this movement began to grow rapidly, and an atmosphere of revolutionary fervour spread across
Britain, inspiring reformers. In many ways the French Revolution acted as a template of reform to
radicals and reformers across Britain and Europe. When the propaganda of the French Revolution
began to reach the masses of Britain in 1792 the situation worsened for the British government as
interest in radical societies spiked. At times during the 1790s, there were incidents of rebellion that
were of a similar degree of

History And Systems Of Psychology
History and Systems of Psychology is a course requirement offered to Psychology majors and minors.
This course is used to provide majors and minors with the foundation and the evolution of the field of
psychology. Within this class, many scholars of discussed. Two scholars that stood out to me in this
course would be John Watson and Max Wertheimer. These two particular scholars are responsible for
two of the most influential and famous schools of thought, behaviorism and Gestalt psychology. These
two schools of thought are responsible for changing the field of psychology and introducing the field
to new theories and ways of thinking. Although the two schools of thought are similar in being
influential but they are different in many ways. The two schools of thought are even said to be
contradictory of one another and one is even said to be the cause of the fading out of the other.
John Watson was born January 9, 1878 and he died September 25, 1958. He grew up in South
Carolina (Cherry, 2014). John Watson grew up in a poor and dysfunctional family. His mother was
Christian and she, therefore, wanted to raise him to be Christian. His father, on the other hand, was a
bad man. He did drugs and got in trouble. In Watson s teenage years, he had an affair and left his
family. Although Watson s mother s intentions were to raise him to be a good Christian man, Watson
ended up being a very violent kid. Watson even found himself in trouble with the law, just as his dad
did. Later in

Communication Security Issues Essay
3.2.1 Communication Security Issues
Customers can use cloud services through Internet. There can be various interaction between
customers and cloud provider and the interactions can also be happening within the cloud providers
which results in raising various security issues. The communication can be classified as (a)internal
which happen between customer and cloud and (b)external which includes within cloud infrastructure.
Mazhar, A. Samee, U., (2015) has defines that the external communication of cloud is like other
internet communication, so it faces the same security problem as that of Internet. Since there is no
physical security required as shared services are used, but consumers does not know what is

Data in the cloud computing is available online on the Internet which causes various security issues.
Those issues are data loss, data breaches, malware insiders and denial of service. Data loss is a
security issue as due to some natural disaster or due to mistakenly deletion if all important data is lost
and there is no back up then a company can lose reputation and trust of customers (Sultan, A.,
William, A., 2016).
Keeping a backup of data can be helpful for data loss but will increase chances of data explore leading
to data breach. Due to less visibility and more exposure, a cloud computing will face malware attacks.
Also, some companies require data resources all the time due to which cloud computing offer services
to be shared among many clients, if an attacker use all available services, then denial of service will
slow down the services. The data location is one of the barrier as clients does not know the extract
location of their data.
The communication between client and provider is done by API and web applications so these
interfaces are also included in security issues. If the API interface are weak and security mechanism
cannot depend them, then an attacker can have access resources and data as a privilege user.
3.2.3 Contractual and Legal Issues
3.2.3.1 Service level agreement in cloud computing:
The Service Level Agreement is a contract which defines terms and conditions between client
provider and consumer.

Underground Railroads And The Underground Railroad
Underground railroads were a network of secret routes and safe houses used during the 19th century
slaves from African descent that were in the United States, and wanted escape to the free states and
Canada. The safe houses located on these routes were run by abolitionists and people that were
sympathetic towards slaves. The Underground Railroad reached its height during the 1850s and 1860s.
It s difficult to determine how many people actually traveled the routes and made it to freedom, but it
is estimated that somewhere around 100,000 slaves journeyed along these paths. It is unfortunate
however, that not many people of this 100,000 made it to freedom. There were just around 5,000
recorded cases of runaway slaves, and only about 1,000 a year made it to safety during the peak of this
time. The lives of many slaves were horrendous during the early America s, so many of them sought
refuge in the Underground Railroad where they dealt with even dirtier, more dangerous conditions.
However, this helped thousands of slaves successfully reach freedom and helped create one of the
biggest slave movements of the 1800s. How it all began. In 1786, George Washington complained one
of his runaway slaves was helped by a society of Quakers, formed for such purposes. Before long, by
1831, the system grew into what is now the Underground Railroad. Many people think the
Underground Railroad had something to do with paths that were once railroad tracks or something,
but that is not the

Saudi Arabia has created the impossible through economic, political, and social legitimacy that not

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Semi Presidentialism
It is still being discussed and there is a dilemma. Existing works are mostly based on Duverger and
Sartori type of typologies which are mostly consist observations, generalizations and case selections.
These may lead us inaccurate inferences. Hence, as Elgie argues semi presidentialism should be
defined according to constitutional framework as the system extremely varies in different regions and
countries. For instance, Western European type of semi presidentialism cannot be found in Central
Asia since having different political, historical and idiosyncratic settings. Features of the semi

In other words, the person who owns the data have power and control over it as well According to
Loshin, 2002 The control of information includes not just the ability to access, create, modify,

Sometimes for the advancement of the science these data ownership have the ability to share the data

In order to analyze the data ownership we must be sure about who collects the data and under whose

Thesis On Sin And Righteousness
Sin and righteousness , have both come to be terms that provoke controversy. No one wants to be
called a sinner . Sin implies judgment and condemnation. And if a person evaluates righteousness
according to standards of behavior, he or she will fail to live up to his own standard. And so today
these two words are shunned.
The concepts of sin and death are closely linked in scripture. Commonly we consider sin to be
something which breaks God s rules. This is understandable given the six hundred thirteen laws of the
Old Testament. There is a problem with this way of thinking; it leads to legalism and a standard that
can never be attained.
In Matthew 5:27 and 28 Jesus indicated that a person who lusts after a woman has done what? ...

The experience of trust and unity continues to be something people long for. As we strive for meaning,
these relationships may be enjoyed and experienced easily until there is violation. Once violation is
experienced in a relationship, the unity God designed us for must be nurtured, re established and
grown by an attitude of grace.
Paul further explains in chapter 7, that by receiving Jesus gift of righteousness, the laws that define
our trespasses have been done away with. Life will reign in our experience as a result of His gift and
grace filled response in our lives. Romans 7:6 states, we have been released from the Law and may
live in newness of the Spirit , which will be demonstrated and experienced by relationships of unity as
a result of the attitude of grace, which persists in spite of violation.
When a person has accepted Jesus righteousness on his behalf, God in turn does not consider the
person s actions when judging sin; rather God discerns the condition of his heart. By this experience
of God s grace, trust in relationships may be reestablished: firstly in ones relationship with God. Yet,
the experience paves the way, and human relationships also may also be nurtured and grown, when
God s graceful response is applied in our relationships with

s only representation of a character that is still strong in the old ways and even a bridge to future

Government In The Film V For Vendetta
In the film V for Vendetta directed by James McTeigue it is evident that People shouldn t be afraid of
their government. Governments should be afraid of their people. This is seen through several
characters in the film. In the first place, the government is made up of people, most of them elected by
the citizens of the country. As an illustration, midway through V for Vendetta, the character V
surmises that Sutler s career began as a deeply religious man and a member of the conservative party.
He s completely single minded and has no regard for political process. The more power he obtains the
more obvious his zealotry, and the more aggressive his supporters become. This shows as the number
of his supporter increased and became more aggressive,

Understanding Justification and Righteousness
INTRODUCTION John Calvin described justification as the main hinge on which religion turns,
while Martin Luther described justification as the doctrine on which the church stands or falls.
DEFINING TERMS Two terms must be defined before we go further: righteousness and justification.
The basis of this paper is to look at the doctrine of justification as Paul presents it in Romans, but
clarification of these two terms will be helpful at this point. As N.T. Wright states, English and
American have two quite different root words, just and righteous, where Greek and Hebrew have one
each, dikaios and its cognates in Greek, tsedaqah and its cognates in Hebrew. In order to properly
understand justification we must begin with an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Packer explains, there is virtually no lexical support to interrupt to justify to mean to make righteous.
In Romans 3:19 4:9, Paul provides explanation how God can be both just and the justifier of the one
who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:26). A fundamental difference between the Old Testament and the book
of Romans is that no one has the ability to fulfill the law, there is no one righteous (Rom. 3:10; 20). In
verse 21 Paul tells us the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law and that this
righteousness is from God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe (v. 22). Therefore, when
Paul tells us one is justified by faith apart from the works of the law (3:28) we understand justification
being defined as a judicial act of God. And by the atoning work of Christ, God reckons sinners
absolved from sin, their penalty dismissed, declared righteous, and placed in a right relationship with
God.
PAUL S CASE FOR JUSTIFICATION Paul presents his readers with a clear and simple thesis in the
first three books of Romans: mankind is inherently in opposition to God, none is righteous, no, not
one; no one understands; no one seeks God (3:10 11). The whole of his teaching from 1:18 3:20 is

Exodus Of Egypt Essay
In the story of Exodus 12: 21 27, it it tells of how the tradition of Passover started and why this
tradition is such an important part of what God did for the people of Israel. This story shows two very
distinct sides of God, his vengeful side that he shows to the non believers of Egypt and also his
merciful and loving side that he gives to his people. God s compassion and commitments for his
followers in this story sets a foundation for faith in him because it shows that God will protect you as
long as you give him your compassion and commitment in return.
This passage tell of how Moses told the elders of Israel to kill a lamb and take it s blood and paint it
onto the door ways of their homes as a sign that their house is a house of the people of God. This was
a requirement for any person who believed in God in Egypt because at this time is when God was
punishing the Egyptians in the form of ten plagues. The plague in questions was the last plague God
ste on the Egyptians and it was also the most severe. The tenth plague of Egypt was that God would
take all firstborns in Egypt but he would spare all children of Israel and the blood was used as a sign to

Through the written accounts of Moses commitment to God s command to free his people, Moses
wages a holy war against the Pharaoh of Egypt. The personal character of the Pharaoh demonstrates
how salvation cannot be obtained through arrogance only through God himself. God has given many
laws to abide by through the ten commandments, and as humans, we strive to model society after God
s guidance. As part of the human condition, we do often make mistakes, and at times even fail to
uphold God s laws, however, through God s mercy and patience, we continue to move forward and
closer to an ideal society guided by the Lord s sacred

What Is Job Redesign
Topic: ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ACTION RESEARCH Name: Institutional
Affiliation: Question 1 Introduction Job redesign involves the process of restructuring job activities
then reallocating them among the staff for improving productivity as well as motivation. The process
requires revision of the post content regarding responsibilities and tasks. It involves three activities
which are job enrichment, job enlargement, and job rotation. Job enrichment means an employee has
more tasks to do as part of the job. The employer gives more responsibilities and additional duties to
the employees while matching their skills, knowledge and abilities. Job enlargement is a redesign job
strategy that increases only the tasks of a particular job. It will, in turn, reduce the monotony of the
employees thus enabling them to be more productive thus increasing their output at work. Job rotation
designs workers to an alternative position on a temporary basis as that they can gain additional skills
and have a broader perspective of how the organization works.(Hartzell,2015) Which of the five core
job dimensions discussed on page 73 of Sarma(2009) or page 146 of Armstrong(2014) do you think
should be revised the most during redesign job intervention? According to Armstrong (2014), there are
some five core dimensions as outlined by Hackman and Oldman(1976) which include; skills variety,
task significance, autonomy, identity and significance feedback. He argues that these

Teenage Driver Observation Paper
On March 30, 2018, a call was dispatched about a possible drunk driver traveling eastbound on
Highway 90, passing Highway 57. The reporting party described the vehicle as an older model Dodge
truck faded red in color.
I was sitting in my vehicle at the police department when I observed a Dodge Ram matching the
description drive past me. They were traveling at a speed of 30 MPH in a 45 MPH speed zone. When I
got behind the vehicle I noticed they were traveling while touching the left center line, they also had a
bunch of miscellaneous items hanging from their rear view mirror obstructing their view. I initiated
my blue lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop. We pulled into the Mcdonald s parking lot off of
Highway 90. Sgt. Fowler then pulled up and assisted me on my traffic stop.
The vehicle consisted of three passengers. The driver was identified as Ricky Smith, the back
passenger was identified as Tony Teauge, and the front passenger was Smith s mother.
After asking Smith for a valid driver s license and proof of insurance, he stated he does not have a
valid license and that it is suspended. Smith stated his mother was at the casino in Biloxi and was too
drunk to drive. Smith went and picked her up knowing he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

having a few drinks while at the casino, which were mixed drinks. He stated that he knows he messed
up by driving after consuming alcohol at the casino. Smith was willing to take a portable breathalyzer
on scene to determine the level of alcohol that was in his system. The test showed a positive result of

Batman What Type Of Character Is The Joker
There is no character who is really like no other in the world of comic book villains, and that character
is the Joker. Which would be hard for a person to actually find a character who is deep and this
disturbed in the world of comic book villains? The mind that originated him, Jerry Robinson, must
have been a very twisted person, undoubtedly. The Joker represents a theory about existence that part
of me believes that all people wish we could embrace in our own way. He is an outrageous character,
the stuff he does to other people is the lowest of the lows. The Joker is also a fascinating character,
with an interesting world view, which is why he is my favorite villain. He has so many characteristics
that make him even more interesting, like his history, his character, and how is he portrayed.
First of all, there is an argument as to where he actually came from. Different movies and comics have
had different points of view. There is no back story for his character. The Joker has always had a
durable history of crime, of course, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It really captured him in the best way possible. The film showed a brilliant criminal mind who got
bored doing what normal criminals do. His apathy led him to seek out Batman. He spent the whole
movie just trying to make a point that Batman was just as corruptible as the rest of us. He nearly
destroyed half of Gotham to in the process, but that was the extent of what he wanted to do. The little
dialogue between Batman and the Joker at the police station showed it best. He didn t care about
anything, other than chaos. The Joker is a purification about the dark side of a part of us that we don t
acknowledge. He is part of the darker side of the way of thinking, not only does he not wants to follow
the rules of society, but he actively seeks to destroy the rules as we understand them. In his mind,
chaos is the only actual truth in the

Greek Philosophers
People travel from many parts of the world to view the great architectural structures Greece has to
offer. They are not only intrigued by the beauty of the buildings but also by their complex
development. Greeks tradition of building structure came from the ideas of Philosophers such as
Thales,Pythagoras, and Archimedes, who questioned their being and challenged their world to find
meaning to certain practical applications. From their inquisitions, the Greek Philosophers developed
basic but complex strategies that served the purpose of a foundation to many other technical
advancements. The Philosopher s concepts were questioned at times for they went completely against
the Greeks normal way of life. In the Greek culture, gods were ... Show more content on

With Archimedes invention of the Archimedes Screw water from a lower location could be easily
transferred to a higher point. This advancement of simple technique placed Archimedes face on the
wall of great Philosophers. The screw pump was only just a start to the development of the piping
system. Farmers mostly benefitted from this advancement for now they were able to transfer water
from their wells to other parts of the field. With the screw pump came the lever principle. If there is a
heavy weight on one side then it should be equalized on the other side in order to make it move.
Architectures used this law of mechanics to make their work easier as they would be able to move
boulders that were in the way of their duty. Greek Philosophers have made drastic changes from a
basic lifestyle to one of questioning. Their persistence to find meaning behind basic concepts has lead
to great technological advancements that are still used in today s world. The law of nature by Thales
proved that there is a system to the world and there is more to what is seen. Pythagoras uses that
strategy of observation to create a rule for sound and the way it travels. Archimedes used both theories
to point out the rule of mechanics and the way things move. Without these early advancements, the
world would probably be an era

Research Paper On David Hasselhoff
It seems in this modern day and age, no one in the entertainment industry can seem to maintain a good
credibility. A prime example of this is David Hasselhoff. David Hasselhoff demonstrates why having
good credibility is an important virtue but can easily and hastily be destroyed. He also demonstrates
that all your actions effect your credibility. David Hasselhoff was born on July 17, 1952 (age 61) in
Baltimore, MD. Some of his first major achievements include starring in many television series such
as The Young and the Restless, Baywatch, Baywatch Nights, and Night Rider. Hasselhoff also dabbled
in drama and theatre. Early in Hasselhoff s life, he believed his career would lead to Broadway.
(Stevens) Hasselhoff gained his credibility by not being caught in scandals through the beginning of
his career. He also gained credibility by starring in many of the productions stated before. He was
known as a trustworthy and credible person for a moderate amount of time. (Stevens) That is, until he
was discovered to be in the same boat as the vast majority of the music industry.
David Hasselhoff s middle and current years of his life are controlled by alcohol. (Stevens) The first
time the public found out about Hasselhoff s drunken acts, his credibility toke a large negative hit. In
2002 while Hasselhoff was filming his Baywatch Reunion movie, he released to the public that over
the past twenty years, he has struggled with alcohol. At this time he is currently at Rock Bottom

Privacy Issues In Internet Of Things
The Internet of Things is one of the fastest growing parts of information technology. With the rapid
increase in Internet of Things device around the world it has become a problem with securing one s
privacy, Internet of things range from a typical smart phone to a smart air conditioner or a pacemaker.
Because of these simple devices one can overlook the security and vulnerability of these devices such
as their privacy concerns. You ever feel like you re being watch, or that your smart phone may know
you to well, or how your device apps seem to somehow know which ads to post of material items you
been searching. These are just a few privacy issues that still remain unresolved. With the growing
issue of privacy in Internet of Things there are methods and designs being developed to help ease one
s concerns, I will provide two methods to help resolve the privacy issue with the dummy location
generator, that is an algorithm developed that will help lower the user probability of having their
location revealed. Another method is the privacy by design which is the process of which it uses the
consideration the user s privacy issues that should be used from the beginning of the design
throughout the whole design process.
The Internet of Things is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world, there are an estimated
15.4 billion devices as of 2015 and that number is expected to double by 2020 to 30.7 billion devices

Hierarchical Bone
Hierarchical architecture and mechanical properties of the various constituents of the bone are
important to understand the origin of toughness and stiffness and their alterations with age and
disease.
3.1. Macrostructure: cortical and cancellous bone
At the macrostructural level, bone is divided into the cortical (or compact) and cancellous (or
trabecular) types based upon their degree of porosity or density. Histologically, it is composed of a
cortical bone wrapped around older cancellous bone having irregular, sinuous convolutions of
lamellae. It is still not clear whether cortical and cancellous bone matrices consist of the same material
or have intrinsically different mechanical properties. Based upon the nanoindentation studies, on an ...

However, cancellous bone material being much more active metabolically, is remodelled more often
than cortical bone, and hence, it is younger usually than cortical bone. Based upon the mechanical
measurements at the macroscale, cancellous bone tissue were found to have slightly lower values of
moduli as compared to the cortical bone. Cancellous bone, can be described in terms of structural as
the extrinsic properties of trabeculae and pores. The description of cancellous bone in terms of
material properties defines the trabecular struts and plates. Mechanical properties of both cortical as
well as cancellous bone at the macrostructural level usually vary from bone to bone and within
different regions of the same bone due to variation in mineralization level and apparent density values.

Analysis Of Andy Goldsworthy s Piece Ice Spiral
Thinking about a tree, one might think about the leaves and how they could symbolize balance,
growth, and harmony. Or one might think about how a tree represents nature itself by symbolizing
such attributes as strength, stability, diversity and withstanding the greatest of challenges to survive.
Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site specific
land art which embody these characteristics and represent nature as a whole. Goldsworthy s process is
to be as involved in nature as he possibly can and to produce sculptures to draw out the character of
the environment. He seeks to draw emphasis to the beauty and exquisiteness of nature while also
displaying the stages of life nature goes through; it grows, stays and decays as an integral part of the
circle of life. Goldsworthy s piece Ice Spiral: Tree Soul, exemplifies these distinctive elements and
displays his unique technique in a way that captures the essence of nature. When one first looks upon
the photograph of Tree Soul, it almost looks unreal or that the ice spiral surrounding the tree was
digitally added to the image of the tree. The spiral ice sculpture is perfectly molded to wrap around the
tree and opens the eyes of the audience in sensing the beauty and multidimensional details of the
natural world. When creating his art pieces, Goldsworthy uses all materials of the natural world such
as twigs, flowers, snow, stone, leaves and ice. He only uses natural materials found

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Hurricane Harvey As our city grieves in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, a category four hurricane that hit Houston as a tropical storm, our nation is left battling economic and social concerns that will impact the future of both Texas and America as a whole. As many areas of Houston are transitioning from relief to rebuilding, our politicians and local leaders need to take hard look at the best path moving forward. Despite tensions between Texan politicians and the national government, it is to our benefit that we turn to federal funding to provide for our people. Though we are Houston Strong and were able to act quickly in helping our neighbors immediately following the devastation, it is imperative that we work cohesively with the national government to make Texas stronger for the long run. As we begin moving forward we need to ask ourselves, Do we want to rebuild sooner or better? As we re trying to move from relief to recovery and rebuilding, it s nearly imperative that we look back to unveil why this widespread flooding occurred in the first place. If we trace back to the research of engineers in the 1990 s, it was recorded that the reservoir system was inadequate and endangered thousands of lives and properties (Thompson). Arthur Storey, Harris County s Flood Director in 1996, coins the wreckage that lies before us as a massive governmental and engineering failure (Thompson). • 3. Extreme Human Emotions are the Sole Product of Biological... It has been claimed that human emotions are the sole product of biological functioning. The James Lange Theory of Emotion (1884) proposes that there are three components of emotions which can be attributed to the automatic nervous system (ANS). The three components are Cognition (appraisal of the event), Action (Fight or flight) and Feeling (Aspect of the emotion). Here we see that a biological attribution of emotion has been in place since the 1800s and has been common knowledge for some time. This essay will assess and examine evidence that has been provided to support the idea that emotions are the product of biology. Certain areas of the brain have been identified when studying fear. The amygdala is involved in processing emotions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emotional Memory also exists which isn t conscious (Claparede, 1911). When studying patients with amnesia, it was found Claparede would introduce himself to a patient every day and she would not remember ever meeting him previously. He began to hold a pin when shaking hands with her which would cause her pain. Although the woman could not remember the man each day, she began to refuse to shake his hand due to fear of being hurt. This showed that the patient could not form new memories but the brain can ensure that the systems related to fear can override cognitive processing when encountering a threat. As we can see, the brain plays a strong role in producing fear responses. Additionally, there are physical indicators of fear too. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the fight or flight affect producing increased heart rate and breathing. This in turn produces behavioural and psychological responses such as feeling fearful and changes in facial expression. These biological responses are caused by information within the brain which strongly suggests that fear is a product of biological functioning. Another important human emotion to look at is anger which is essential for communication and responding to threats. Deffenberger (2002) defines anger as coping resources that are available to the individual. When studying the brain, the amygdala is active in related to anger. Dopamine and adrenaline are ... The Shift From Modernity To Postmodernity Modernity Describe the main features of the shift from modernity to postmodernity Post modernity or post modernism as coined during the counter culture era of the 1960s and 70s has been highly contestant, ever since it was first used describe the death of modern architecture and art during the same period. It is this debate of being in a state of modernity or post modernity that will lead me to describe the shifts in cultural, economic and political views and values that demonstrates a shift in values from modern to post modern views sociy. This shift to post modernity has been highly influenced through the works of postmodern artists and architects and academics such as Focult (Venn, C., Featherstone, M. 2006), Burroughs, Barthelme, Rauschenberg and Cage (Clarke, S. 2006), who all describe modernity being an exhausted idea, due to the shift of values changing society to a period of post modernity. In this essay I will argue that we are now living in a new age of post modernity by describing and explaining the transition of modernity to post modernity by analysing the social dimensions that modernity has shifted from to postmodernity. I will also look at the main features of both modernity and postmodernity and explore their features to draw the conclusion that postmodernity is not a new era but a new social movement of different views and perspectives. Analysis Of Adp As A System For Federal Mogul Analysis of ADP as a HRIS System for Federal Mogul Now that we have taken a look at the minimum required hardware and software of the ADP system, let s examine ADP as a Human Resource Information System, or HRIS for short. A great HRIS system provides critical data about the human resource function of the business as well as helping to create a follow through on the business s mission and goals. HRIS systems help to reduce organizational costs by contributing to the efficiency of the human resource management function. HRIS systems help to automate critical human resource management functions (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 58). HRIS systems contain information on employees, job and work conditions, positions, payroll and benefits, and HR events such as recruitment, training, development, performance appraisals, and terminations (Chauhan, Sharma, Tyagi, 2011, p. 59). Although ADP offers all of these features, Federal Mogul utilizes ADP specifically for the payroll and benefits function. APD s payroll system is a very complete system that works in conjunction with Federal Mogul s timekeeping systems. Many Federal Mogul facilities utilize Kronos for attendance and timekeeping, including the Sparta, MI location where I work. Not only did politicians change their allegiances, but moderate reformers were radicalised, and British society was completely divided into supporters and detractors of the Revolution. It also resulted in a drastic politicisation of Ireland, changing the nature of politics completely. This new Tory government that had been established was much less tolerant of reformers in a time where radical reformers were far more common and were feeding off the energy of the French Revolution. In the 1770s, a movement for parliamentary reform began in Britain under the leadership of middle class men such as John Cartwright and Christopher Wyvill. When the Revolution in France began in 1789 this movement began to grow rapidly, and an atmosphere of revolutionary fervour spread across Britain, inspiring reformers. The safe houses located on these routes were run by abolitionists and people that were sympathetic towards slaves. The Underground Railroad reached its height during the 1850s and 1860s. It s difficult to determine how many people actually traveled the routes and made it to freedom, but it is estimated that somewhere around 100,000 slaves journeyed along these paths. It is unfortunate however, that not many people of this 100,000 made it to freedom. There were just around 5,000 recorded cases of runaway slaves, and only about 1,000 a year made it to safety during the peak of this time. The lives of many slaves were horrendous during the early America s, so many of them sought refuge in the Underground Railroad where they dealt with even dirtier, more dangerous conditions. Packer explains, there is virtually no lexical support to interrupt to justify to mean to make righteous. In Romans 3:19 4:9, Paul provides explanation how God can be both just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Rom. 3:26). A fundamental difference between the Old Testament and the book of Romans is that no one has the ability to fulfill the law, there is no one righteous (Rom. 3:10; 20). In verse 21 Paul tells us the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law and that this righteousness is from God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe (v. 22). Therefore, when Paul tells us one is justified by faith apart from the works of the law (3:28) we understand justification being defined as a judicial act of God. And by the atoning work of Christ, God reckons sinners absolved from sin, their penalty dismissed, declared righteous, and placed in a right relationship with God. PAUL S CASE FOR JUSTIFICATION Paul presents his readers with a clear and simple thesis in the first three books of Romans: mankind is inherently in opposition to God, none is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks God (3:10 11). This passage tell of how Moses told the elders of Israel to kill a lamb and take it s blood and paint it onto the door ways of their homes as a sign that their house is a house of the people of God. Which would be hard for a person to actually find a character who is deep and this disturbed in the world of comic book villains? The mind that originated him, Jerry Robinson, must have been a very twisted person, undoubtedly. The Joker represents a theory about existence that part of me believes that all people wish we could embrace in our own way. He is an outrageous character, the stuff he does to other people is the lowest of the lows. The Joker is also a fascinating character, with an interesting world view, which is why he is my favorite villain. He has so many characteristics that make him even more interesting, like his history, his character, and how is he portrayed. First of all, there is an argument as to where he actually came from. They are not only intrigued by the beauty of the buildings but also by their complex development. Greeks tradition of building structure came from the ideas of Philosophers such as Thales,Pythagoras, and Archimedes, who questioned their being and challenged their world to find meaning to certain practical applications. From their inquisitions, the Greek Philosophers developed basic but complex strategies that served the purpose of a foundation to many other technical advancements. Hierarchical Bone Hierarchical architecture and mechanical properties of the various constituents of the bone are important to understand the origin of toughness and stiffness and their alterations with age and disease. 3.1. Macrostructure: cortical and cancellous bone At the macrostructural level, bone is divided into the cortical (or compact) and cancellous (or trabecular) types based upon their degree of porosity or density. Histologically, it is composed of a cortical bone wrapped around older cancellous bone having irregular, sinuous convolutions of lamellae. It is still not clear whether cortical and cancellous bone matrices consist of the same material or have intrinsically different mechanical properties. Cancellous bone, can be described in terms of structural as the extrinsic properties of trabeculae and pores. • 32. Analysis Of Andy Goldsworthy s Piece Ice Spiral Thinking about a tree, one might think about the leaves and how they could symbolize balance, growth, and harmony. Or one might think about how a tree represents nature itself by symbolizing such attributes as strength, stability, diversity and withstanding the greatest of challenges to survive. Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site specific land art which embody these characteristics and represent nature as a whole. Goldsworthy s process is to be as involved in nature as he possibly can and to produce sculptures to draw out the character of the environment. He seeks to draw emphasis to the beauty and exquisiteness of nature while also displaying the stages of life nature goes through; it grows, stays and decays as an integral part of the circle of life. Goldsworthy s piece Ice Spiral: Tree Soul, exemplifies these distinctive elements and displays his unique technique in a way that captures the essence of nature. When one first looks upon the photograph of Tree Soul, it almost looks unreal or that the ice spiral surrounding the tree was digitally added to the image of the tree. The spiral ice sculpture is perfectly molded to wrap around the tree and opens the eyes of the audience in sensing the beauty and multidimensional details of the natural world. When creating his art pieces, Goldsworthy uses all materials of the natural world such as twigs, flowers, snow, stone, leaves and ice. He only uses natural materials found ...
