1. Essay On Career
Crafting an essay on the topic of one's career may seem deceptively simple at first glance, but
delving into the intricacies of one's professional journey can be a challenging endeavor. The
difficulty lies not only in the task of articulating personal aspirations and accomplishments but
also in presenting them in a coherent and compelling manner. As the writer, you are tasked with
navigating the delicate balance between self-reflection and objective analysis, highlighting your
skills and experiences without veering into self-aggrandizement.
Moreover, the challenge intensifies when considering the need to tailor the essay to a specific
audience. Whether the target reader is a potential employer, academic institution, or simply a
curious individual, the essay must strike a chord that resonates with the intended audience. This
requires a nuanced understanding of the expectations and preferences of the reader, further
complicating the writing process.
Additionally, the task involves introspection, forcing the writer to confront not only their
achievements but also setbacks and failures. Addressing these aspects with honesty and humility
while maintaining a positive and forward-looking tone adds another layer of complexity.
Furthermore, the dynamic nature of careers in the contemporary world necessitates staying
abreast of industry trends, professional development opportunities, and the ever-evolving job
market. Integrating this awareness into the essay adds a dimension of currency and relevance
that requires ongoing research and refinement.
In essence, writing an essay on one's career is akin to crafting a narrative that goes beyond a
mere chronological account of professional milestones. It demands a keen understanding of
storytelling, persuasive communication, and the ability to convey a sense of purpose and
direction. It is a task that requires not only proficient writing skills but also a profound self-
awareness and strategic thinking.
In conclusion, while the topic may seem straightforward, the process of writing an essay on one's
career is a multifaceted and demanding undertaking. Success in this endeavor requires a delicate
blend of self-reflection, communication skills, and a keen awareness of the audience. It is a
challenge that, when met with diligence and creativity, can result in a compelling narrative that
showcases not just a career but a journey of growth and aspiration.

2. Essay about The Dome of the Rock
Essentially unchanged for more than thirteen centuries, the Dome of the Rock
remains one of the world s most beautiful and enduring architectural treasures.
Adorned with its magnificent gold dome and elaborate quranic inscriptions, the
structure intimately represents the world s second largest religion in a city
historically associated with the three Semitic faiths. Representation, however, is not
the only effect of this site. Despite its intended purpose, the Dome of the Rock
inherently stands as the focal center of a millennium old religious controversy.
Located on what is essentially the world s holiest site (obviously a speculative
assertion) and inscribed with proclamations of Islamic religious superiority, the Dome
symbolizes far... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cyril Glasse discusses such in her work:
In the case of the Dome of the Rock, the symbolism of its Quranic forms echoes the
significance of the Temple Mount as the site of the Temple of Solomon. It is the
culmination of the revelations of Moses and Jesus in the restoration of the primordial
Abrahamic unity which is IslamВ…the calligraphic inscriptions recall the relationship
between Jerusalem and Jesus, and the apocalypse to come.
In addition to the structure s architectural composition, elaborate Quranic inscriptions
further elaborate this message of religious superiority. Carole Hillenbrand alludes to
such:
The Dome of the Rock, which had been built in 72/691 as a triumphant statement of
the superiority of Islam over other faiths, especially Christianity, displays a careful
selection of Quranic inscriptions which tilt at the Trinity and the Incarnation. Islam s
uncompromising monotheism is emphasized in a long band of inscriptions
measuring around 240 metres in length: the message is unambiguous: В‘There is no
god but the One God and He has no partner.
Artfully constructed and etched in Quranic verse, the Dome sits upon its ominous
perch and serves as the center of Jerusalem. Regardless of one s religious or political
slant, the sheer magnificence of the building cannot be ignored В– nor can its
intrinsic message. From an uninfluenced perspective, one cannot help but observe the
Dome as an attempt to
3. Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech
Al Gore s speech titled Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech is a powerful work of
literature which serves two purposes. The first purpose is stated in the title to
accept his award of the Nobel Peace Prize. The second intent he had when writing
the speech was to reiterate his points that awarded him the honor in the first place.
The speech explains his passion for the problem in our world that is the climate
change and how much we pollute our earth. To give a short gist of what his cause
was, the following quote offers much insight to the regretful aspect of our society that
he is passionate about fixing. He says So today, we dumped another 70 million tons
of global warming pollution into the thin shell of atmosphere surrounding our planet,
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His call to actions is for us to choose between two futures. He goes on to explain
further by challenging the reader to challenge assumption as well as repetition.
Challenging us to question the repetition that would eminently happen if we don t
unify and majorly change our actions. His persuasion is made very strong and hard
hitting when he says we are standing at the most fateful fork in that path. So I want
to end as I began, with a vision of two futures each a palpable possibility and with a
prayer that we will see with vivid clarity the necessity of choosing between those
two futures, and the urgency of making the right choice now. Reading this quote
gives the feeling of being very inspired and feeling empowered. That being said, I
feel Gore should have given more concrete action that he proposes we take. He
should have said things such as we should stop allowing every person to drive a
motor vehicle as much as they please. If he d said something along those lines, it
puts a specific concern in mind and helps along the putting the reality of better,
healthier world into fruition. He also could have proposed that perhaps every
person who owns a vehicle be required to plant a tree once a year. His speech was
powerful with lots of drawing of parallels, a lot of analogies, and many accounts of
making associations. While he is lacking a concrete and specific remedy for our
current situation, maybe it is okay. Perhaps all we need is to see that we do have a
choice in how we can influence the world, and the rest is up to us to draw from the
inspiration and coordinate our own, personal next move to attain the goal that has
been
4. Public Schools And Private Schools
Schools have been around since the 18th century; starting with private schools and
then public schools came around in the 19th century (Kaplan and Williams, American
Education ). From there how to get an education has drastically changed. There are
several types of schools that you can put your child in; homeschool, virtual schools,
advanced placement schools, Charter schools, private schooland public school. The
top options are public schools and private schools. There are different
considerations you have to take in to choose the best school for your child; cost,
average class size, development of social skills, bullying rates and graduation rates.
We will hit on each of these topics further, as well as discuss the other schooling
options to help you decide the best school for your child. So, between public and
private schools and the other non traditional options; which is the best option for your
child?
One of the top considerations parents take into account when looking at what type
of school to put their child in is cost. The consideration of cost can be the deciding
factor when it comes to putting your child in public school over private school. In
the United States the average annual cost for sending your child to a private school
is $8,411 for elementary and $12,900 for high school. The cost then varies even more
by state. In Washington the average annual cost for private school is $8,877
elementary and $10,525 for high school. In Idaho the average annual cost
5. English Reflection
Growing up, English was always a struggle for me, I didn t like to read or write and, I
always found myself, especially trying to avoid reading at all costs. Up until first
grade Spanish was all I knew, so when I began school I had to learn the language
everyone already knew, English. English scared me and became difficult as I
feared that I was falling behind in a subject I should have already know. Soon I
found out I was right, during the dreaded parent conferences where my parents were
told I was below reading and writinglevels. My parents tried to encourage me write
and read more but I had no interest as at the time I felt that I was always gonna be
behind in English no matter how hard I tried. Later when I got high school things
changed, I took an advanced English class just challenge myself after that class, I
continued with advanced placement courses as I knew it was time to change my
mentality. After high school when I tested into English 49, I became disappointed
with my results of finding out that I needed to take English 49, as I believed my
writing skills were slightly more developed. Today I am glad that I got the
opportunity to take English 49 as with this course this semester I have improved in
structuring and organizing a five plus paragraph essay, in grammar and punctuation
and, in the analysis of an author s writing.
Throughout my writing I noticed that my ideas in my paragraphs were not always
organized I would talk about one topic and then jump to the
6. A Montage Of Othello And Desdemona s Relationship
Jacob Wolf
Period 3
English 10
25 March 2016
A Montage of Othello and Desdemona s Relationship.
We find that the hardest part of life can be the one that is the most common in every
person s life. Commitment has been a word that can be tossed around in relationships,
with the vulnerable ring to it; that pursuit of something better can feel lost in even the
most stable relationships.
We find that Othello and Desdemona are not lovers. Desdemona is a bare projection
for Othello s own inability to develop self esteem and overcoming self alienation,
which increases the potential of his immeasurable self hatred. There is indifference,
speechlessness, inability to communicate with quirky, infantile and confused
character between the two. He wears this cloth, Othello s love token, Othello s body
veil, which he gives away, thus exposing himself to Desdemona and before the
whole world. More specifically, the veil and Desdemona, because both are
synonymous, and such the same thing, that they symbolize infidelity. The cloth is
given by Othello as a pledge of his love to Desdemona. He also pleaded his love for
her when he says,Come, My dear love,The purchase made, the fruits are to ensue; The
profit s yet to come tween me and you. Goodnight. (2.3.9 13). Othello s cloth, an
heirloom, not only of his family, but an heirloom of mankind since its inception. An
artifact of constant existential importance, artfully preserved with the help of young
women s hearts. The cloth
7. The Fluidity of the American Civil War
The American Civil War, widely known in the United States as simply the Civil War
as well as other sectional names, was a civil war fought from 1861 to 1865 to
determine the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. Among the
34 states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their
secession from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America. The
Confederacy, often simply called the South, grew to include eleven states, and
although they claimed thirteen states and additional western territories, the
Confederacy was never diplomatically recognized by a foreign country. The states
that remained loyal and did not declare secession were known as the Union or the
North. The war had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Slavery was the central source of escalating political tension in the 1850s. The
Republican Party was determined to prevent any spread of slavery, and many
Southern leaders had threatened secession if the Republican candidate, Lincoln, won
the 1860 election. After Lincoln had won without carrying a single Southern state,
many Southern whites felt that disunion had become their only option, because they
thought that they were losing representation, which would hamper their ability to
promote pro slavery acts and policies.
Root causes
Slavery. Contemporary actors, the Union and Confederate leadership and fighting
soldiers on both sides believed that slavery caused the Civil War. Union men mainly
believed the war was to emancipate the slaves. Confederates fought to protect
southern society, and slavery as an integral part of it. From the anti slavery
perspective, the issue was primarily about whether the system of slavery was an
anachronistic evil that was incompatible with Republicanism in the United States.
The strategy of the anti slavery forces was containment to stop the expansion and thus
put slavery on a path to gradual extinction. The slave holding interests in the South
denounced this strategy as infringing upon their Constitutional rights. Southern
whites believed that the emancipation of slaves would destroy the South s economy
because of the alleged laziness of blacks under free labor.
Slavery was illegal in the
8. Noah Cyrus Meaning
The song Make me cry by Noah Cyrus, is a way of explaining how they feel and that
expressions that they have by going through the relationship. The meaning of the
song is to either let the person listen to it that they are having relationship problems
with, and let them listen to it, and maybe get them to understand why you re singing
this song and why the relationship is making you feel this way. Because sometimes,
when you express how you feel through something you love, helps the other person
understand what you re going through and why you re expressing it this way. It s
mainly to get them to understand that they are mentally hurting you but at the same
time get them to realize how much you love them and that they are the only person

In recent years, environmental sustainability has risen to become an everyday
concern. The impact of the current drought and extreme weather events such as
Cyclone Larry on Australian fresh produce supplies has brought into focus the effects
that climate change will have on our business. Paying attention to sustainability is
about future proofing our business.
It s about leadership.
We recognise that Woolworths can take a more prominent role in the debates around
sustainability. It is fair to say that Australian and New Zealand retailers have lagged
behind companies in the United Kingdom and Europe. So we are committed not just
to contributing to the debate but to taking specific, measurable actions to improve
our performance. By virtue of our size, scale, and the complexity of our business,
Woolworths is a significant player in the Australian and New Zealand economies.
With that profile comes not only a responsibility to understand and manage our
impacts, but also a tremendous opportunity to achieve lasting and beneficial change
that extends beyond our own operations. We aim to move to a leadership position on
sustainability.
It s about listening.
As our knowledge of the way in which human societies impact on the natural world
develops, society s expectations of corporate conduct have evolved. Quite rightly,
our stakeholders expect us to consider the broader, long term implications of our
operations as a part of our decision making processes.

10. Prisons Ineffective In Prisons
Canadian prisons are ineffective at rehabilitating inmates due to overcrowded
conditions and failure of proper preparation of reintegration into society.
Overcrowding is when more people are placed into a confined space, than it can
actually hold. Factors that lead to the cause of failure in the correctional system
consist of gender biases, cultural biases, and the lack of rehabilitative resources/social
support. Mandatory minimum sentencing and substance abuse also play a role in
increased incarceration rates.
When a crime is committed, the offender is taken to court where a judge will
determine if the offender is innocent or guilty. If the offender is found guilty, the
penalties may include the following; community service, a fine, or incarceration for a
certain amount of time depending on the severity of the crime committed. The
purpose of the Canadian prison system is to serve justice to both society, and the law
breaker. Justice is served to society by punishing criminals with isolation from society
at large. The criminal is served justice through receiving rehabilitation in order to
successfully reintegrate into society, once released from incarceration. The focus of
Canadian prisons should first be in rehabilitating its inmates, and punishment should
be its secondary focus. However, punishment seems to be the prime focus and prison
sentences have become more of a standard solution, rather than an option. Simply
because it is easier and more effective.

12. Essential Materials And Establishing The Compressive
Strength
Introduction
Concrete is a vital construction material and establishing the compressive strength is
key as the ability to maximise the compressive strength will enhance a structures
lifespan. Mortar is formed through the mixing of cement and water before being cast
to harden. When the cement and water is mixed the process of hydration occurs
forming a paste which then hardens. Once concrete is cast and dries the presence of
curing time is important. Not all chemical reactions occur quickly, therefore by
curing concrete in water for several days it allows all reactions to complete.
Therefore allowing concrete to cure for up to 28 days should ensure that the
compressive strength is maximised and it should meet industry standards. ... Show

Methodology
In preparation for the laboratory concrete specimens should be prepared in line
with the Civil Engineering technicians standard mix. 4 concrete cube samples with
no plasticiser should be produced and another 4 Specimens should also be
produced in line with this standard mix but with the addition of plasticiser as well.
The 8 specimens should then be left to cure in water for specified time periods: 0, 7,
14, 28 days.
In the laboratory the dimensions of each concrete cube was measured using
callipers. It was ensured that before each reading the calliper was zeroed to
minimise any errors. The length, width and then depth was measured before
proceeding to the next sample. 2 members measured the samples whilst 2 recorded
the results. After all dimensions were recorded the mass of each cube was obtained
using an analytical balance weighing the samples cured from 0 days up to 28 days.
Next the cubes underwent the compression test. The cubes were tested in order of
curing time so 0 days no plasticiser, 0 days plasticiser, 7 days no plasticiser and so
forth. The cube was placed on the support in the cube crusher and adjustments were
made so the force would be applied evenly on the cube s surface. The force was then
increased slowly, compressing the block. The force at which the concrete cube failed
was recorded. The concrete cube was then

14. Player Modes Of Video Games
Player Modes in Video Games
Player mode selection is not an option in every game, but there are specific player
modes designed in all game genres to best serve every kind of gamer. Video games
have become more popular in the past couple of decades, providing the uprising of
advertisement and stores which cater to the hobby. Developers compete to pump out
quantity and quality. Consequently, games have evolved beyond graphics alone. Now
games come packed with achievements, leaderboards, side quests, in game shops,
customizable characters, and a chock full of other options, including the use of real
world money to buy items for a character. Not only have games evolved in these
ways, but the way we play modern games has changed as well. ... Show more content

Be that as it may, the single player mode is the only one which can quench the thirst
for a story rich game, in a self reliant environment, which is free from awkward and
problematic social miscommunication unlike two or multiplayer or massively
multiplayer modes.
Single Player Mode
First, the single player mode is typically largely story rich. Developers found a way
to engage lone players, by captivating them with a story background, often with an
unfolding story throughout the game. For example, in Ori and the Blind Forest,
the game begins with a touching story about Ori, the main protagonist. His
heartfelt story coupled with the enchanting musical score and artwork, plus the
often challenging obstacles a player must overcome, makes this platformer game
story rich and memorable. Similarly, some games include an interactive story,
where the player can select conversational responses or make detrimental decisions
as to how the character s morale develops and how the story goes. In the role
playing Fable series, the choices made by the player, dictate how the character
develops and how the story pans out. The player determines whether their character
is good or evil, in regards to the way their character responds to the built in
characters, or commonly referred to as artificial intelligence, in the game, along with
what personal, social and political choices they deem fit. Second, single player mode
offers players a self reliant environment.

As we enter the twenty first century, it is clear that many things about our method of
interacting with our environment are different than in previous centuries, and that, in
fact, the very philosophy of the man nature interaction may change again. Some look
forward to these changes. Others are fearful or condemnatory. In many cases, people
implicitly or explicitly argue that certain technologies are unnatural. They claim that
while certain technologies may be useful, other technologies represent a form of

Polytheism identifies multiple supernatural beings who each exercise arbitrary
control over Nature, and all of whom may be good or evil and triumphant or
banished depending on random factors such as the phase of the moon and which
deity has the most priests and temples. Universalism identifies no supernatural being
separate from Nature itself, but affirms that Nature is, in the end, good. While
atheism , devil worship , fatalism and hedonism are also logically valid philosophies,
they take less time to explain, present fewer leads for philosophical study, and seem
not to have guided the actions of many people worthy of emulation. At any rate,
religious hierarchies played an important factor in world government for several
thousand years.
As a trivial example of how fundamental nature is in religious discourse, different
religions have, over time, prescribed different hair grooming standards. The early
Christian apostle Paul taught, Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man
have long hair, it is a shame unto him? (1 Cor. 11:14) Jewish men have long worn a
skull cap to cover the hair while praying. On the other hand, Sikh men believe that
the hair is sacred, and that to cut it (or let it be dirty) would be to defile it. When in
public places, they wear a turban to protect their hair from anything unclean. Their
respect for God created nature also leads them to refrain from eating any sort of meat.

Judaism is a religion that goes back many centuries. The earliest know account of this
religion dates around 2000 B.C.E. This is the approximate time a man named
Abraham made a covenant with God that also extended to his descendants. It was not

these people were called Israelites. Besides Abraham, the main figures in Judaismare

word God to not risk disrespecting His name. Unlike other religions, much of
Judaism is very general and open to interpretation. Most of Jewish teaching focuses

18. Why Costco Is A Wholesale Club Business
In 1982, Jeff Broman and Jim Sinegal plan to start a wholesale club business. One
year later, the first Costco warehouse was open in Settle, Washington (Costco). In
the following years, Costco crossed into national market, it expand their market to
United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and the United Kingdom
(Costco Wholesale Corporation). Internal strengths Costco provide good welfare
to the employees. According to the video, Costco has the highest average wage in
the industry, employees have 20 dollars per hour and the company also offers
health care coverage. The good welfare in Costco can satisfied the need of
employees, they can get the highest income in Costco than in other supermarket.
More than that, employees can work as hard as they can for Costco because they
have the health care coverage. For Costco, they do not need to worry about the
problem of recruiting and they can make sure the quality of service to the customers.
Costco understands the customers and they have fewer items in each category for
customers to choose. Sometimes, too much items make customers confused because
it is hard for them to make decisions among a lot of brands. At that time, some
consumers may give up buying those items and it will be a loss for a company.
However, Costco lists less items on the shelves and consumers can make decisions
easily. For example, the manager introduced that they sale HEINZ tomato ketchup for
customers to choose and help them to make decisions.
19. Data Centers And Its Effects On The Internet
Have you ever wondered what has been able to power up all of the websites that
we use on the internet? Well, they are called data centers. These data centers are
what support all of the digital information. There are specific data centers that are
used when people download movies off of iTunes, look at their credit card balances
through Visa s website, send a yahoo e mail that has files attached, buy items on
Amazon, post tweets and even access online newspapers, but these data centers have
been creating some problems. Data centers need a lot of energyto run. They are
known to waste over 90 percent more electricity than is actually used. This is due to
online companies keeping their websites running all night, which wastes electricity.
To improve the problem of wasting electricity, they began using generators that give
off deasil exhaust. As a result, the data centers revived citations from the authorities
for going against the clean air regulation. They only resulted to this to try and save
electricity. There has been a lot of energy used to power data centers. So much

21. I Am Proud At The United States Essay
When I came to the United States three years ago, I didn t know how to speak
English at all. I started learning this new language after only speaking Spanish for 16
years; it was certainly an intimidating and daunting challenge. I thought it was going
to be impossible for me to learn English in time to attend a respectable university,
since my surrounding peers were constantly discouraging me. Through hard work and
determination, I managed to learn how to fluently read and write English like a
native speaker in just a year and a half. I am blessed enough to say that I now attend
one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. Initially, I was ignorant
to the potential that laid dormant within me. Now, I understand that we, as people,
limit ourselves by paying attention to limitations rather than our ability to permeate
and conquer them. Focusing on our limits hinders our progression and prevents us
from achieving our full potential. Society inculcates us with the idea that we are born
with a predetermined future, to which some of us who lack critical thinking skills
become robotically attached. We are raised with prearranged boundaries,
consequently, keeping our minds away from revolutionary ways of thinking. Instead
of being encouraged to think outside of the box, we are conditioned to remain inside
that box. This is a violence that we ourselves perpetuate; we hurt ourselves by
underestimating our ability to transcend beyond these artificial boundaries
23. What If Tonya Was Black
A lot of people have already made up their mind about Tonya Harding. Therefore,
before the biopic movie I, Tonya even hits the big screen, the audience including
Liberal critics already formulated their own conclusion of her. This movie is
about a disgraced former Olympic figure skater who started out as a poor girl who
was physically abused by her mother then by her husband. Nevertheless, the movie
is a comedy sketch and was nominated at the Golden Globes for best Musical or
Comedy. It was reported that during a scene where she was beaten, some of the press
laughed. This makes us wonder why they found this hilarious. Thus, throwing out the
hard question, what if Tonya was black? In a movie review by Manhola Dargis from
the New York Times, the writer notes that even though some scenes in the movie...

However, in public opinion, Tonya was already convicted of being a white trash.
Clearly, the movie is about white trash just like black trash, it exists. No matter
what racial and ethnic group you are in, there is always a group of trashy people.
Just the same, there is an implication that being black is equal to being trashy. If I,
Tonya was about black people, people would definitely call it racist. The movie
will be categorized as a typical stereotype black movie. There are many films about
black youth that are constantly getting abused by their immediate family and

24. Summary Of The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock
As T.S Eliot writes The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , he gives insight into a
modern man . This modern man is recognized not only by his looks, but also by his
boredom and isolation with the subject of love. As this song progresses it is easy
to see that these aspects play a part into his whole life. Prufrock is not only
searching for love, but is also learning much about himself during the process. J.
Alfred Prufrock is a man who dresses nice and has expensive taste. This is seen
through out the stanzas of 37 45. The modern man knows how to play the part of
looking like a gentleman. He is nicely dressed as he talks about being in a suit with
a necktie and just a simple pin to decorate it. He states this and then questions his
actual appearance noting that the women will not notice due to the way his body
looks. Prufrock worries that his looks are not pleasing anymore as he states, They
will say: But how his arms and legs are thin! (Baym 44). As he says this it could be
interpreted that the women might prefer a man who has a more pronounced body
that is larger or with muscles, and possibly with a bigger build. Prufrock wants to
look good for the women, but he is worried that all they will see are his deficits.
They will say: How his hair is growing thin! (Baym 41), he contemplates on even if
he should join in society because he does not want to be criticized for how old he
looks. The thinning of his hair suggests that he is not young anymore, and the

My weekly stroll starts at Chatham Square, near the southern end of Mott Street.
Here, the older Chinese gather around the tables, located throughout the area. At one
table located at the far end of the square, some sit with cards in hand and ready to
make a witty move. Many more stand around them to observe the game, now at its
climax. It is the classic game of Chinese Poker. Despite the its origins from Asia,
many immigrants have brought the game to America and is a favorite pastime for
both the youth and elders.
One man scratches his mustache and smirks before he slams down a combo of
cards. Full house! he boomed, proudly displaying his three kings paired with a two
jack cards. The crowd jeers when the other three players pass. The man places
down a two of spade, and the other players pass again. With only one card left in his
hand, the winner is obvious, yet the crowd is willing to watch until the end. Finally,
the man places down his last card, a measly three of hearts, and the crowd cheers as
they congratulate the winner.
Though I wish I could stay to watch another game, I resume my walk, knowing the
consequences if I was to be late to music class. Immediately, the vast sense of space
of Chatham Square is replaced as I enter the narrow thoroughfare of Mott Street.
Multistoried, brick buildings rise up, which are the homes of the residents, with
typical fire escapes projecting out of the building that remain unused.
26. Background Of Method Acting
Method acting has impacted many actresses and actors since the 1930 s. Method
acting is a technique of acting where an actor takes a part and completes emotional
identification, which is based on the system by Stanislavsky. Method acting takes a
lot of devotion and emotional bravery. You have to understand the history and the
development of method actingto understand the goal. If completing the method in a
scene very well then the audience will feel your emotions clearly and that means you
have created a emotional, truthful performance. Method acting is very important but
first we have to know who created method acting.
C. Stanislavsky was a Russian stage actor and director who developed the lifelike
performance technique known as the Stanislavsky method or method acting. When
he was 14 he joined a theatrical group that was put together by his family. Also, in
the 1800 s he became a better actor and began to produce and direct plays.
Stanislavsky was important figure in theater history because he trained so many
actors with his method and proposed that actor training should include something
more physical and vocal training. He said that if theater was going to be meaningful
then it needed to move beyond what people thought the average theater performance
was going to be. Stanislavsky used his method to revolutionize how we perform
because actors need to use emotions to make the acting very real and so the audience
can be drawn in more. His method changed acting very
27. The Christ, The Son Of The Living God
Introduction
Jesus asked His disciples, Who do you say I am? Peter answered for them,
You are the Christ. (Mark 8:27 29) This word, Christ, is the Greek word christos and
translates the Hebrew messiah. The term messiah or Christ was used prophetically as
the
title for the person or figure that God would appoint to usher in His kingdom. The
people s understanding of messiah has a military or political implication. Matthew s
gospel adds to Peter s statement You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. (Matt.
16:16). There is a rich tradition in these words; going back to the kings of Israel, who
were called sons of God and suggests a special relationship to God, but Jesus was
much
more than that. He is God s chosen One and indeed appointed to bring God s
kingdom.
He is the divine Son. The long awaited One of the Old Testament prophesies. The next
verse in Mark gives another important title to Jesus. He teaches that the Son of Man
must suffer, die, and rise again. Who is the Son of Man? This title comes from Daniel
7:13 14. Daniel s vision depicts the Ancient of Days (God) taking a seat on His throne
then one like a son of man approaches God and is given authority, glory, and power.
All of the nations will worship Him. The Jews of Jesus s time see this figure from
Daniel
as a prophetic vision of their Messiah. Jesus claimed to be this Son of Man . Despite
this truth, many had a vision of the Messiah as a military power that

to allow workers to share their visions to develop innovations. For a manager to be

Feminism in Sor Juana
In Estela Portillo Trambley s play Sor Juana the main character Sor Juana Ines de
la Cruz was considered to be one of the earliest feminists. Sor Juana s eternal
struggles to study and unshakable craving for knowledge and wisdom, from
whatever source it may be, support this attribute. In my opinion however, there are
also significant elements of the play that suggest that Sor Juana would not be
considered a true feminist. Of these reasons, there are three major ones that I will
analyze. The first reason is that Sor Juana gave up her struggle for the acquirement
of knowledge from books and settled for reading from religiously accepted writing,
essentially giving up what she had been originally fighting for ... Show more content

This whole progression of events is evidence that Sor Juana was never a true
feminist. Although she was an assertive and determined young woman earlier in
life, Sor Juana learned to accept the way the world was, abandoned what feminist
ideals she had had, and devoted her later life to pleasing God and being a good nun.
Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, as portrayed in Trambley s play is only concerned with her
own desires. She never shows interest in other women s rights and she never speaks
to other
women about the idea of equal rights. She does not encourage her fellow females to
fight to attend colleges and learn. It is like to Sor Juana, there is no such thing as
another woman who desires the same things as she. To me this limits the extent to
which Sor Juana could be called a feminist. She never, in any way, attempted to
fight for the rights of anyone beside herself, and for no thing besides the freedom
to study and become learned. It is much more applicable to refer to Sor Juana as
one of the first in a sort of evolutionary linearity of what finally became feminism.
At the low end of the evolutionary spectrum are characters like Sor Juana. She was
forthright and assertive about what she desired, but she lacked the ability or means
to organize or extend her struggle to any topic area that did not directly interest her.

Hearing loss can have one of the biggest impacts on a child s life. Hearing is an
essential tool used to learn language; without the ability to hear, a child is missing
out on key aspects that will help them learn language. This is why it is crucial that
hearing loss is detected early on, because the earlier it is treated, the more likely
the child is to develop listening and spoken language skills appropriate for their
age. Children that are born deaf are already at a disadvantage as the typical child is
born with around 20 weeks of listening experience already. It is important that we are

Essay 2 Hearing aids are small devices that have made a huge impact on the hearing
impaired. There are four main parts that make up a hearing aid. First, there is the
microphone; the microphone changes acoustic signals into electric signals. An
omnidirectional microphone picks up noise coming from all directions, where as a
directional microphone focuses on sound coming from a certain direction in order to
improve the signal to noise ratio. The next main part is the amplifier. The amplifier
increases the power of the converted signal where the receiver then converts the
electric signals back to acoustic signals and sends it through the ear mold into the ear.
The last part of the hearing aid is the battery. The battery is likely the most
important part, as without the battery, the hearing aid would just act as a really
large ear plug. Hearing aids are an important piece of technology as they help
individuals with a hearing loss receive auditory input they might not otherwise hear.
The technology inside a hearing aid is capable of isolating certain sounds and
amplifying them so that an individual with a hearing loss that prevents them from
hearing those sounds is now more likely to hear them. This is very important for
children. Children with hearing loss may be able to

aggressively. The newly found filth and behavior was accepted among the group
as their time on the island increased. Their filth was a normal part of their lives and
everyone was okay with it. Ralph was running from the other boys and hiding in
the woods, His hair was full of dirt and tapped like the tendrils of a creeper

the woods. Their behaviors changed and they began to accept the killings for food

43. The Value Of Life In Hamlet s Hamlet
Everyone has been led to believe that all lives are equal, and they are however, in
terms of monetary value, lives are not equal. Aside the ethics about assigning
value to the live it is still done. The justice system tries to resolve this loss by using
unjust means. Life should not be given a value in any sort of currency, it is is not
right as there is no way to put a price on something as priceless as life. Even if the
life of a person is affected by an illness, their worth should not be decreased. All
lives are equal, some people need more help than others and it should be given if and
when deserve such help. The valueof life has been contemplated throughout history,
such as Shakespeare s (1599) play, hamlet; in which Hamlet s... Show more content

It is not right to assign value to the life of a person, even a man with training could
not help but be bothered with how wrong that is. Compensation for a death would be
rather problematic, distinctions in the compensation would only fuel the hurt and
grief of the survivors knowing that their family was worth only a certain amount.
In Hamlet s soliloquy, Hamlet is contemplating the differences between life and
death, he is suffering in conflict and therefore sees suicide as an option to escape
pain. Hamlet compares death to an eternal slumber, to die, to sleep to sleep
perchance to dream . The suffering he faces impacted how much he valued his own
life however, not all people think the same way. In Chris Jones interview of Roger
Ebert: The Essential Man , it is explained that Roger s salivary glands were partially
removed...the cancer surfaced yet again...a section of his lower jaw was
removed...his carotid artery, burst...behind his chin there was a hole the size of a
plum , he could no longer eat or drink and he had lost his voice entirely. Even in all
of his suffering when he is writing, he says my problems become invisible and I am
the same person I always was. All is well. I am as I should be . Despite the fact that
he is both facing an illness and suffering he clearly values his own life. Unlike
Hamlet s interpretation of a dream, Roger exclaims that in his dreams he s never had
cancer. In
44. Edwin Smith Papyrus Essay
Egyptians were considered some of the best doctors in ancient times, starting from the
Stone Age and onward. Written documents and cave carvings found from this time
period suggests that they were highly advanced for their time, particularly in the
impressive knowledge of human anatomy. For example, the Edwin Smith papyrus
lay out a myriad of surgical treatments for a certain type of injury, giving many
historians insight on how Egyptians operated in the field. (Lawrence 444) The Edwin
Smith papyrus was divided into sections: title, examination, diagnosis, and treatment,
a clear sign of the vast amounts of understanding in medicine. (Schlager 94) It is said
that medicine became a main focus in the civilization due to the fear of illness and...

Most of them had genitals pointing to the fact that they were someone who got
circumcised. There were no signs of female circumcision, so it is concluded that
the surgery was male exclusive. Nevertheless, many boys allowed doctors to
perform it on them. Contrary to that though, a lot of them didn t, so it clearly isn t
a requirement for males. It is hypothesized that a circumcised genital marks the
transformation of a boy into a man. This explains why evidence suggests that it
was a surgery for adolescents. Egyptians, but it was depicted as a very painful
surgery by some art found in Ankhmahor s tomb, dating 5,000 years ago (Garrard
421). In the picture, it shows two men being circumcised in two different steps of
the process. The one on the left is being restrained while someone kneels before
him. The one on the right is having the foreskin of his genitals cut off with a knife
tool that, most likely, serves the same function as the present day scalpel.
Circumcision is the process where the foreskin of the human genitals is removed.
Generally in ancient times, it is done by getting scissors or a knife tool and directly
cutting it away. As expected and mentioned before, the procedure is agonizing for the
male without proper anesthesia, which most likely wasn t present in ancient
