Essay My Family
Writing an essay on the topic "Essay My Family" might seem like a straightforward task at first,
considering that the subject matter is familiar and personal. After all, who knows your family
better than you do? However, as with any seemingly simple topic, the challenge lies in presenting
your thoughts in a cohesive, engaging, and meaningful manner.
The difficulty arises in striking the right balance between providing enough information to create
a vivid picture of your family while avoiding unnecessary details that may derail the main focus.
It requires a delicate blend of introspection and storytelling, weaving anecdotes and memories
into a narrative that not only reflects your family's dynamics but also captivates the reader's
interest.
Furthermore, the challenge is not just in narrating the facts but in infusing the essay with
emotions and reflections that make it resonate with the reader. Crafting an essay about your
family demands introspection, self-awareness, and the ability to convey the unique aspects of
your family life that set it apart from others.
There's a fine line between being too sentimental and overly factual, and finding that balance
requires a keen understanding of your audience. Whether you're writing for a class assignment
or personal reflection, connecting with your reader is crucial. It involves selecting the right
anecdotes, using descriptive language, and structuring the essay in a way that keeps the reader
engaged from start to finish.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic "Essay My Family" may seem deceptively
simple, the difficulty lies in creating a compelling narrative that effectively communicates the
essence of your family while maintaining the reader's interest. It's a task that requires not only a
good understanding of writing techniques but also a deep reflection on the significance of
family in your life.
If you find yourself struggling with this or any other writing task, it's worth considering seeking

Analysis Of The Myth Of Sisyphus
Connor McGlynn
February 2, 2014

Camus Essay Much of Camus writing in the Myth of Sisyphus is trying to get the
reader to understand the idea of absurdity, and what can be done with it. In this
essay I will attempt to determine whether the acceptance of absurdity does indeed
make life better. Camus states that there are a few different ways one can deal with
the absurdity of life, it could drive one to suicide, it could have someone take a leap
of faith and hope there is meaning to life, or if people recognize the absurdity of
life it makes people truly free when they realize they are freed of values and
religion, and it would make their living experience intensify. Camus arguments
strike a cord with many religious people who lean on their respective religions to
give their lives meaning and a value system to lean on. I find some parts of Camus
logic to hold weight and others, not so much. For the sake of this essay I will first
explain what Camus notion of absurdity is, the responses to absurdity Camus has
outlined in the writing, the question of revolt and why I believe it fails to hold
weight. Camus, having lived through World War II in Europe, had an outlook on
life that is (hopefully) very difficult for many of us to understand. His notion of
absurdity comes from the realization that everyone at some point in his or her life
has a moment of why am I doing this or why am I here on earth or something very
similar to that. What Camus means by
Ryan Lochte s Gas Station Scandal
Case Analysis: Lochtegate
Ryan Lochte s gas station scandal in Brazil during Olympics
Alycia Ikegami The Olympics is a worldwide event when countries all over the world
come together and celebrate culture, sportsmanship and athleticism. It is an
opportunity for people to come together, whether at the venue or at home, it is a
celebration full of excitement. During this time, swimmer Ryan Lochte, along with
three other swimmers, were involved in an incident at a local gas station in Rio de
Janeiro. It was reported on Sunday Aug 14, 2016, US Olympian Ryan Lochte and
three other swimmers claimed they were robbed at gunpoint. The swimmers had
stopped at the gas station to use the bathroom when the incident occurred. Lochte
was the first of the group to speak publicly on the incident. When the story first came
out, Lochte had told NBC News Billy Bush that a gun was pointed at his head. This
was only the beginning of the public relations crisis case. Three days later, Lochte,
returned to the United States and continued to stick to his story while being
interviewed by the Today Show s Matt Lauer. In the mean time, two of the swimmers
were pulled off a plane. The passports of the other swimmers were being held while
they were being questioned, not being able to leave the country. Four days after the
initial incident, Rio police announced that Lochte had lied about what had happened
at the gas station. The real story behind this incident is that the men had
The Importance Of Computers In Communication Codes
As motivated above, it is often necessary to be able to reliably send data over noisy
or otherwise unreliable communication channels. We can use error correction codes
to help mitigate the introduction of errors into our data. To do this, we can divide
our data into smaller pieces called messages and map these messages to codewords
through a process called encoding. This process will provide necessary redundancy
to correct a certain number of introduced errors during the decoding process. An (n,
k) block code C is an injective map E : Q k 7в†’ Q n where Q is a set of symbols
called our alphabet. The size of our alphabet, |Q| is denoted as q. In many practical
applications q = 2 where Q = {0, 1}. E(m) = c maps our message m of length k to our

. . , k, a contradiction. Thus, h(x) = 0 and f(x) = g(x). 3 Thus, the added n в€’ k
points provide redundancy in case an error occurs during transmission of our
message. We ll write our received word as c 0 = (y0, y1, . . . , ynв€’1). Suppose that
an error does occur. Theoretically, we could decode the message by taking all subsets
of size k of (y0, y1, . . . , ynв€’1) and interpolate each of the k numbers in each subset
to determine a polynomial of degree k в€’ 1. We could then find which polynomial
occurs most often. The coefficients of that polynomial would then be taken as the
original message [9]. Obviously we cannot perform this decoding procedure due to
computational constraints. We would need to find n k polynomials which is
infeasible for even slightly large values of n and k. For this reason, the original
formulation of the codewords was changed. Let our alphabet Q be a finite field Fpm
for some prime p generated by f(x) with primitive element О±. We construct for our
code a generator polynomial g(x) whose roots are О±, О±2 , . . . , О±t where t = n
в€’ k. In other words g(x) = Y t i=1 (x в€’ О± i ). Again, let p(x) = Pkв€’1 i=0 mix i .
To achieve a systematic Reed Solomon encoding (non systematic encodings exist, but
will not be discussed here), our codeword is defined as c(x) = x t p(x) в€’ x t
p(x)modg(x) (2) Notice that the first term in c(x) yields a (n в€’ k) + k в€’ 1 = n в€’
1 degree polynomial where the lowest n в€’ k degree terms have coefficient 0. The
Norway s Economy And The European Trade Union
Although Norway s economy is integrated in the market of the European Union
[EU], it is still one of the countries not formally included in this organization.
Previously known as the European Economic Commission in 1972, Norway did not
join the EU. In 1994, Norway once again rejected membership to the European Union
based on a referendum: 47.6% voted yes but 52.4% voted no to membership of the
EU. Instead, Norway signed the European Economic AreaAgreement (EEA). This
Agreement guarantees the internal market s four freedoms: the free movement of
goods, people, services and capital. Signing this agreement was a smart and
calculated choice because Norway has benefited from trade advantages while averting
regulation enforced by the EU, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Norway also trades with many of its EU neighbors such as Finland, Sweden,
Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Greenland. Norway is the EU s fifth most
important partner for trading goods such as metal, seafood, oil, and the 32nd
largest export economy in the world (Norway par 2). According to the World Bank
Report in 2015, this country is one of the ten countries friendliest to business.
Prosperous and developed, Norway has one of the world s lowest unemployment
rates at 4.6% in 2015 (doing Business in Norway 3). Since the discovery of oil
beneath the North Sea located to its southwest, Norway has been the world s seventh
largest oil exporter and gas exporter, with petroleum as the country s largest
industrialized sector. Abundant oil indicates that Norway will enjoy continuing
wealth. Moreover, petroleum revenue received by the state s government is
transferred to the Government Pension Fund, thus assisting Norway in providing
generous Social Services.
The EEA Agreement does not cover Common Fisheries Policy, the COmmon
Commission POlicy, and the Economic and Monetary Union. Common Fisheries
Policy guarantees EU fishing fleets equal access to any EU waters and fishing
grounds. Norway benefits by managing and controlling its own fish stocks and
waters, and not being required to share these with other nations fishermen besides the
EFTA states who are also in the EEA Agreement. Nearly surrounded by open
Media Bias And Its Effect On Society
Over the course of the past years media has taken the nation by storm. Now that we
have everything right in front of us, we are able to easily post on all social media
roots to share a topic or a comment on a subject. Repetitively many people on social
media are used to taking content that is not theirs originally, instead of making their
own. This has effect on many. Rapidly it has caused debate on issues everywhere,
causing bias to seem good, bad and different in lack of perception. Media biasis out of
control! The media today often become so consumed with pleasing people. Viewpoint

Along with political opinion, many people have different presidential candidates
that they would like to be becoming the United States president while the other will
not agree. The first amendment does allow free speech along with the others.
Without it many filters of communication would not be available to us. Today s
youth is made up of social media, living, breathing, and sleeping alongside social
media. It s the base or a place we feel like we can truly belong to and to be with
people we know or have mutual friends with. In a day and age where teens are
sending Snapchats instead of passing handwritten notes and selfie has become a
regular part of our vocabulary, there s no denying that social media are impacting
the way teenagers view themselves (Pyle Par. 4). Social media affect how teen see
themselves and how they act. No one wants to be behind on what everyone into

Supply Chain Management And Logistics Essay
Supply Chain management and logistics are an extremely important functions of an
organization. In this research paper, we will be discussing an aspect of supply chain
and logistics that I am interested in, how both are related and different, key activities
in supply chain and logistics, and the ethics and social responsibility in both supply
chain and logisticsmanagement.
Logistics is a vital component of supply chain management. Both involve the
planning, carrying out and management of goods, services and information from the
point of origin to the point of consumption. Logistics aligns the multifaceted pattern
of traffic and transportation, shipping and receiving, import and export operations,
warehousing, inventory management, purchasing, production planning and customer
service. Organizations, like the one I work for, see logistics as a critical design of
the supply chain. When organizations incorporate logistics as a key component of the
business plan, they can use it to manage, coordinate and monitor resources needed to
move products in a smooth, timely, cost effective and reliable manner.
Like Logistics, Supply Chain Management is an essential element of operational
efficiency. The impact that supply chain has on our organization is substantial and
exponential. Two of the main ways SCM affects business include: boosts customer
service and our overall bottom line. Supply chain impacts our customer service by
making sure the right product assortment and quantity are

The Kite Runner Essay
Khaled Hosseini s The Kite Runner is a remarkable coming of age novel describing
and revealing the thoughts and actions of Amir, a compunctious adult in the United
States and his memories of his affluent childhood in the unstable political
environment of Afghanistan. The novel showcases the simplistic yet powerful
ability of guilt to influence decisions and cause conflict which arises between Amir

himself. Difference in class The quest to become good again causes a reflection in

shrewdness can be seen when he finds a plot hole in one of Amir s short stories.
Amir himself acknowledges, however, the superior and cold voice within which

How dare he criticize you (34)? The discrimination between Pashtuns and Hazaras is a

Martin Luther King Jr Mission Statement
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and
convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Dr. King
Every January 15th we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr as one of the most
polarizing figures of his time. He led the way to the modern civil rights movement,
a movement that was meant to end segregation and provide African Americans
with basic human, and economic rights. Today being an athlete is much more than
playing a sport, they play a role as the voice of the voiceless. In today s NBA we
have high profile outspoken players such as LeBron James and Steph Curry who

Persuasive Essay On Bilingual Education
In 1967, a senator in Texas named Ralph Yarborough introduced the Bilingual
Education Act. Through this act, the federal government was to provide funds to
schools to have bilingual educational programs. The act primarily focused on Spanish
speaking children, but later was amended to benefit other children as well (Glavin).
Several states in the United States opposed bilingual educationand in 2002, Initiative
31 was on the Colorado ballot. Initiative or Amendment 31, required schools to be
taught only in English (figure 1). Parents were given the option to request bilingual
education, but it would be extremely difficult for it to be accepted, due to schools
having the right to deny their request. Instead, non English speakers would be placed
in an English immersion program. In this program, students would be given a year to
learn English and later move to a normal classroom ( Amendment 31 ). On November
5, 2002, the initiative was rejected by 55 percent (Benz 1). Considering the rejection
of the initiative, Colorado began adapting programs to assist English language
learners (ELLs). Nonetheless, dual language education remains highly controversial.
While bilingual education has many positive outcomes, we cannot ignore the fact that
it is not 100 percent effective. Not every child learns the same; therefore, bilingual
education does not provide equal opportunities for everyone. Instead of completely
throwing bilingual education out the window, we should turn to alternatives
Religious Conflict Between Two Christian Sects,...
Religion in Elizabethan England was complex, and the leaders of the time were the
reason behind this complication. This religious conflict between two Christian sects,
Catholicism and the new Reformation religions (such as the Church of England and
Protestantism) began with Henry VIII. In order to obtain a divorce from one of his
wives, he created the Church of England, which he was the head of. Starting with
him, the monarch controlled religion, which had previously been controlled by the
pope. According to Aurelia Clunie, Unlike America, England at the time had no
separation between church and state. Traditionally, the country was ruled politically
by the king and spiritually by the Roman Catholic Church. However, Shakespeare s
was the first generation in which the monarch, rather than the Pope, served as the
country s spiritual head (Clunie). Because of this shift in power, religion became a
battleground. Religion in Elizabethan England became conflicted between
Catholicism and Reformation religions, such as Protestantism. Clunie states, With
Queen Elizabeth on the throne, the pendulum swung back toward Protestantism. In
efforts to quell sectarian violence, Elizabeth was lenient toward practicing Catholics,
however specific laws, such as fining those who did not attend church, kept the
Church of England firmly in place (Clunie). While there were measures to appease
Catholics, which was kinder than her sister s slaughter of Protestants, there was
inequality in

Conflict Management Styles In Mean Girls
Like Stephen R. Covey once said, most people do not listen with the intent to
understand; they listen with the intent to reply (Stephen Covey). Most people do not
try to see things in the point pf view of others, they like to jump to conclusion.
Conflict is an interaction between interdependent people who perceive that they have
contradictory goals or scare resources. The more important the relationship is, the
more important the conflictis.
The movie mean girls is about a sixteen year old homeschooled girl named Cady
Heron who lived in Africa for the last 12 years of her life. After 12 years she
returns to the United States and is now going to High school. Attending public
school for the first time in her life. The homeschooled girl entered girl world that is
full of lies, drama, gossip, boys and rules. She started hanging out with the Plastics
and become friends with. The movie showed many example of conflict management
styles, it reflects on the American culture values and beliefs, and power style.
The movie Mean Girls is all about conflict whether it was with the outside groups
or each other. Conflict management is the way we engage in conflict and address
disagreements. The movie mean girls , every character showed many conflict
management styles. Two character who used many conflict management styles in
the movie were Cady and Regina. Cady used the Avoidance style. The avoidance is
deliberate decision to take no action when dealing with conflict. Avoidance conflict
style is Basically being avoiding the conflict all together. Examples of when Cady
used the avoidance style is when she eats her lunch in the bathroom because she
could not find people to sit with. Another time she shows the avoidance style is
when she did not tell her parents how the school was really going. She just ran to
her room. She ignored the conflict all together. The opposite of Cady is Regina, the
queen bee of the school. The conflict style Regina used was competition. Competition
is someone thinking that the conflict has to go their way or the highway, is a win
lose situation. She showed this conflict style is when she told Aaron the rumors that
Cady was stalking him and then got back with him. Even though she did

Human Emotions In Ernest Wingway By Ernest Hemingway
Theme is the central idea in a piece of writing or other work of art. It helps to set a
set of tones when the piece of writing is read, or the art is viewed. A Soldier s Home
by Ernest Hemingway, A Dream deferred by Langston Hughes, and On a Play Seen
Twice by F. Scott Fitzgerald all show various main themes of human emotions.
Human emotions can range from positive to negative feelings, and all the emotions in
between. In these stories various human emotions are displayed throughout the
content. Loneliness is a human emotionthat is seen and represented often, in more
ways than one. It is an emotion that is not always an easy one to be identified, but
many people identify with it, each in a different way. In the story, A Soldier s
Home by Ernest Hemingway expresses a theme of loneliness. Krebs is a solider
from World War 2, who returned home much later than most soldiers. In the story it
is written, Later he felt the need to talk but no one wanted to hear about it. His
town had heard too many atrocity stories to be thrilled by actualities, Krebs found
that to be listened to at all he had to lie and after he had done this twice he, too, had
a reaction against the war and against talking about it ( Ernest Hemingway Soldier s
Home ). After being home from the war for a short period of time, Krebs felt alone
in the manner where he could not talk about the war and his experience. When he did
talk about the war, what he told was not his truth; he felt as though he could
Summary Of Tennessee WilliamsThe Glass Menagerie
There is not one comic or movie, where Superman fails to save the day, where in
the end he does not win. The Harry always defeats the Voldemort. This is because
when a Christ figure is developed, there are certain expectations that go along with
that. However, what happens when a Christ figure fails to fulfill their duty? In The
Glass Menagerie, a play by Tennessee Williams, Laura s mother Amanda wants Laura
to have a suitor. Finally, Tom Laura s sister invites Jim O Connor, one of his
friends from work over to have a meal. Amanda goes into a frenzy preparing for
him, and when he arrives he appears like the perfect suitor. As the night goes on,
Jim eventually seduces Laura and then leaves in a rush. In Tennessee Williams s
play, The Glass Menagerie, Williams uses a ironic Christfigure to demonstrate how
illusions tear a family apart. Jim is meant to be the savior of this household. He is
the central Christ figure in this play. He is built up and anticipated much like the
Messiah, JesusChrist. He calls himself Superman, one of the most prominent Christ
figures in pop culture. Even his name Jim O Connor, has the same initials as Jesus
Christ. JC, Jim O Connor, JC, Jesus Christ. Amanda goes into a frenzy making
preparations for Jim after Tom finally informs her of the visit. On page 42 she says,

Essay about The Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals
Can suicide be justified as morally correct? This is one of the many questions
Immanuel Kant answers in, The Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals . Kant
discusses many questions with arguable answers, which explains why he is one of
the most controversial philosophers still today. Throughout Kant s work, multiple
ideas are considered, but the Categorical Imperativeis one of the most prevalent.
Though this concept is extremely dense, the Categorical Imperative is the law of

On the other hand, there are few to none examples of a Categorical Imperative,
because as Kant would believe, they have to be actions that are good in themselves
completely. To arrive at the Categorical Imperative, Kant starts off by explaining
that an action is good without qualification if done from duty and not primarily
from inclination, or ulterior motives. This, in a more simplified manner, means an
action is good if it was the right thing to do and a person did it for the sake of duty
and not because of anything else, like instincts or feelings. Kant believes there are
very few people in this world that can actually live up to the standard of duty. From
this point, Kant states that moral worth is determined by the rule or principle by
which an action has been decided, not in the purpose to be attained by it. This
statement goes back to the difference of means versus ends; is a person s action
based on the mean or is it based on ends? After Kant arrives at this, he then affirms
that duty is the reverence for the law. The difference between reason and will is
established at this point. Reason, or thought, can be described as theoretical or pure
reason, or it can be described as practical reason. Kant describes theoretical reason
as determining a given concept, but practical reason is idea of making the concept
actual. Will, on the other side, can be broken down to either the holy will or
empirically mixed
Demerit Point System
The Demerit Point System is a system where, because of driving convictions,
demerit points will be added to your licence. Based on the amount of points and the
type of licence (fully licensed or not), different actions and consequences will be
taken. The severities of the convictions will also determine the amount of points
added.
7 point infractions include failing to stop when ordered by a police officer and
failing to remain at the scene of a collision. Some 6 point infractions include
exceeding the speed limit by 50 km/hour or more, racing, and careless driving. 5
demerit points will be added for bus drivers if they fail to stop at a railroad crossing.
4 point infractions are exceeding the speed by 30 to 49 km/hour and following too
War Measures Act Essay
Throughout history, the actions of governments have always been debated; however,
occasionally there are certain events which spark much controversy, both at the time
of the event and by historians today. One of these controversial acts was the
invocation of the War Measures Act in 1970, an act which suspended the civil
liberties of Canadian citizens. In October 1970, in what became known as the
October Crisis, the Front de libГ©ration du QuГ©bec, (commonly known as the
FLQ) which was a French Canadian organization advocating independence from
Canada, kidnapped two politicians. This initiated a series of events, one of which
was the invocation of the War Measures Act by Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau.
Many historians argue that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, both Prime Minister Trudeau and Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa were
not willing to give into the FLQ demands, External Affairs Minister Mitchell Sharp
even claimed the demands to be wholly unreasonable, despite the fact the life of a
prominent politician was at stake. On October 10th 1970, Bourassa finally comes
back to Quebec from his a trip in New York, which he deemed as more significant
than the crisis in Quebec. Later that evening, two FLQ members kidnapped Pierre
Laporte, the Quebec Minister of Labour. Five days later after still refusing to meet
the FLQ demands, Trudeau calls upon the War Measures Act. Under the
regulations of the Act, which dated back to World War One, Trudeau s government
suspended the civil liberties of Canadian citizens, and were able to arrest and
detain anyone suspected of belonging to the FLQ, or even supporting the FLQ.
The body of Pierre Laporte was discovered in the trunk of a car three days later, in
what was believed to have been retaliation for the War Measures Act, as the murder
itself occurred one to two days after the Act was invoked. On December 3rd, 2007
the FLQ kidnappers released James Cross in exchange for safe conduct to Cuba.
Over the next several months many of the kidnappers were
A Critical View of the Audit Expectation Gap and Audit...
Audit Expectation Gap Audit Rotation
A Critical View
Auditing is one of the most critical fields where the external auditors are always
subjected to criticism and legal regulations which are mostly directed against them.
Mostly this criticism arises because of lack of sufficient understanding of how the
company law and auditing standards work and also due to related misconception
about the actual role of an auditor (Porter, 1993). This lack of understanding is called
expectation gap where the outcomes of the audit expected and its actual purpose
varies. One solution to this fundamental issue is to reduce this expectation gap by
providing a clear definition of auditor s role and also the audit function that is
required to be performed by him. However, during this defining phase, it is necessary
to consider whether an audit rotation would reduce this audit expectation gap.
This term, Audit Expectation Gap was coined by Liggio in 1974. It was established
as the perceived difference between the desired performance levels as observed by
the independent auditor and by the user of financial statements (Liggio, 1974, p.2).
Tweedie further elaborated this predicament by saying, The public appears to require
(1) a burglar alarm system (protection against fraud).....(2) a radar station (early
warning of future insolvency).....(3) a safety net (general re assurance of financial
well being).....(4) an independent auditor (safeguards for auditor
independence).....and (5)
Forrest Gump Satire
Few people realize that the classic film, Forrest Gump, has its roots in a novel of
the same name by Winston Groom. However, if one were to read the novel after
seeing the film, he would be surprised to find an extremely different main character
and only a slightly reminiscent plot line. The film, Forrest Gump, is a romantic
drama riddled with comedy. The plotline follows Forrest Gumpand his childhood
love Jenny. Although they live separate lives, their paths continually cross over
time. Forrest, the main character, is a young man who has a low IQ. Despite this
obstacle, he manages to excel in life and even grasp the meaning of love. He is quite
naГЇve, but still lovable. Although he faces many difficult circumstances throughout
his life, these challenges are matched with success and joys. Audiences find the film
one full of spectacular special effects and heartwarming scenes. The novel, however,
has a different plot line and falls into a completely different genre.... Show more

The crass, annoying and gullible Forrest is used to represent the baby boomer
generation, of which he is a part. Forrest, much like his generation, never stops to
question whether things are right or wrong, he simply does as he is told. This
leads to several misfortunes in his life, including being sent to a mental hospital
and becoming a drug addict. Forrest chases the love of his life without being able to
fully comprehend what love truly is. In similar fashion, the baby boomer generation
searched for love and peace, and instead discovered sex, drugs, and rock n
Spirituality Across Britain Differ From Aboriginal...
Spirituality across Britain differs from Aboriginal spirituality in numerous ways.
Religion was a very important aspect in nineteenth century Britain, although it
could be reasoned that their individual spirituality was less developed compared to
that of the Aborigines. This is because the religions at the time were very strict on
what followers should and shouldn t do. The entire of the religion s followers
followed the guidelines set by the church. was There was no one major religion in
eighteenth century Britain different religions that were important included Church
of England, Catholic and Presbyterian. There was a lot of importance put on
tangible objects in these religions there was the sacred texts books which contained
guidelines for how to live their lives, holy deities who were seen as not being
capable of wrong doing and strict customs. An individual person s spirituality was
commonly the same as every other member of the religion. Aborigines were and
continue to be very deeply connected to their spirituality.

Search Of The Second Language
As my search of the second language to write the analysis started, I wanted to find a
language that I believe was more interesting that the ones I already know. Dart is a
multi purpose, garbage collected, class based, programming language that
borrows the same C like syntax as many modern programming languages out there.
Dart was originally developed by Google and released on 2011. [1] The main
usages of Dart are four; compiled as JavaScript to run in the Chromium web
browser, stand alone by using the Dart Virtual Machine, and ahead of time
compiled into machine code. In other to run on the main stream web browsers,
Dart relies on a source to source compiler to JavaSript , which is basically a type of
compiler that takes the source code in one language as input, and output a source
code in another language. This is the opposite to tradicional compilers, which
translate between a high level language to a lower level, while source to source
translate to a langauge within the same level of abstraction. In some cases, code
written in Dart can run faster than the same code written using JavaScript. [1] [2]
The Dart SDK brings a modified version of Chromium that includes a Dart VM
which allows to run Dart on this browser. In my opinion, I believe that the target of
Dart s designers is to substitute JavaScript in the future. By allowing source to source
compilation and integrating a Dart VM to the Chromium browser, I beleive this is an
attempt to make people use Dart instead of
Falling Snow In Desert Places
Whereas the imagery Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening teases ... with a near
nihilism (Bloom 7), the falling snow in Desert Places strongly points to nihilism.
The fast falling snow [refuses] to communicate: it says and means nothing (Kendall
352). The snow blankets the surroundings; the ground is almost covered smooth in
snow and the animals, the living elements, are smothered in their lairs . The
concrete blankness (Oster 199) created by the falling snow alludes to the fear of
having no expression, nothing to express . In a biological context, this fear of nothing
to say was ... constant to Frost (Oster 201). Using falling snow is significant because
it denotes a nothingness that continues; as the persona relates the snowy
Literary Terms For The End
Literary Terms for In the End Linkin Park s In the End is a song that many people
can relate to because it is about a situation that everyone has encountered. The
approach Chester uses to describe a hard situation by using the structure,
symbolism and prosody he specifically picks out makes the song catchy and
relatable. The way he forms the song and the words he picked out allows a
depressing moment to become an inspiration for anyone going through hard times.
The most important literary term is structure, this is the beginning layout of the
poem, story or song. This is how the poem is organized it is where the author
decides how the story is to begin, the details that are going to keep the reader
intrigued, the crisis and the climax and the way the poem is to end, the resolution.
Even in the song In the End there is an outline of how it begins and ends. Right
away the author shows that there is a major complication, he has worked hard at
reaching a goal or helping a person and has failed. Then further down in the lyrics
he shows the crisis, where all of the reasons are starting to build up as to why he
has decided not to stay with the other character in the song, he sings reasons like
when you were mocking me, acting like I was your property and fighting all the
time. He even sings about everything has changed and there is no way to bring it
back. He then lines it up with when the chorus hits; we see the resolution of the song.
This part shows the realization that
Zebra Mussel Research Paper
Minnesota has recently been plagued by a Zebra Mussel infestation in many of their
lakes in the state. Now, over 200 bodies of water are home to the invasive species,
with Washington County s Forrest Lake being the most recent. Minnesotan officials
are saying that they have already raised boat inspection hours, however, with the
continual infestation, they will have to do so once again. With the previous 1,500
annual boat inspection hours being the already heightened time, the DNR (http:/
/www.dnr.state.mn.us/invasives/aquaticanimals/zebramussel/index.html) will raise
the inspection hours to 3,100.
It is incredibly important to keep watercraft clean so that these infestations do not
occur. The best way to do this is to clean the boat or other craft after each use before
storing it.

The reasoning for this is quite clear. First off, they disrupt the local food chain.
Even though they are relatively small, when they enter an ecosystem, they filter
feed, taking away food from the microscopic organisms who are a vital player in
said ecosystem. As a result of these microorganisms not getting food, they die off,
and the various species that feed from them no longer have food. This chain of
events continues the whole way up the food chain, until there are very few or even
no life left in the ecosystem, save for the newly introduced Zebra Mussel

From short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper, to the court cases like Ellen Pao s

clear to see that inequality and mistreatment of women still exists today. People
often say that inequality is a thing of the past, however it has been a serious
problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today. Women are
often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. It is getting better,
and women are starting to take their rightful places as equals in the workforce, and
as equals in general. However, the world still has a long way to go before the
inequality and mistreatment of women comes to a complete stop. In The Yellow
Wallpaper, the authors explores the world through the eyes of the narrator. The
narrator is a womanwho has been taken away to live in the countryside for the
summer due to temporary nervous depression (Gilman). This diagnosis was done
by her husband, a physician, who treats her more like a possession than a spouse.
Though he has diagnosed her with this, he is seen saying that she is not really sick
at all. He gives her incorrect medicines, not believing her when she says something
is wrong. Throughout the story, it is shown that she is not ever taken seriously, her
husband even going so far as to say that she shall be sick as she pleases (Gilman)
this implying that she is making up her illness for attention, and that it is all

The Importance Of Advertising In Advertising
Advertising and advertisement(s) are defined as any message, the content of which
message is controlled directly or indirectly by the advertiser expressed in any
language and communicated in any medium to Canadians with the intent to influence
their choice, opinion or behavior (Ad Standards, 2017). Puffery is used in many
outlets of advertising; it is the practice of making exaggerated, fanciful, or highly
suggestive claims about a product or service. Usually the exaggeration is obvious
and concerns subjective feelings or non material associations (Arrington, Lutz
p.83, 1991, p.469). An example of this would be the Molson Canadian beer ad
described the product as cold, clean and crisp . Any beer is cold if you put it in the
fridge, and warm if you don t. You would hope that every beer is clean, that no
poisonous chemicals or rodent droppings got into it at the factory. Carrot sticks are
crisp, potatoes chips are crisp, but beer is wet not crunchy (Beam, 2008, 8.3.1).
However, the words cold, clean and crisp are effective puffery. It s supposed to lead
you to believe this beer is better than others. This classic justification for advertising
contends that ads simply give us information, which allows us to purchase what we
want(Arrington, 1991, p.472).
The most basic ethical concerns raised by advertising is sending consumers false
information about a product or service as well as promoting a materialistic lifestyle
that engages people, especially teens or young

Budget Cuts To Education
Education has become an essential part of human life it creates an opportunity for
people to improve their environment, help others, create jobs, and develop new

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is an acquired condition characterised by
atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries. CHD is the most common cause of death
globally, and in Australia. However, the prevalence of CHD is disproportionately
high in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations, at approximately twice the
rate of other Australian populations. There are a number of established risk factors
for developing CHD, including hypercholesterolaemia, obesity and hypertension.
These risk factors are especially prevalent in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait

both distal and proximal risk factors for CHD. Whilst the risk factors can be applied

It should be noted that the focus of this paper will be on CHD due to atherosclerosis,
which makes up over 90% of all ischaemic heart diseases [1].
CHD is the most common type of cardiovascular disease [2] and was the leading
cause of death globally between 2000 and 2012 [3] accounting for 14.6% of all
deaths in Australia in 2011 (21,513 persons) and 7.8% of all disability adjusted life
years (DALYs) in Australasia in 2010 (471,550 DALYs) [4]. In 2011 12, CHD was
estimated to affect 585,900 Australians, with the condition being more common in
men (3.3%) than women (2.0%) and among those aged 70 and over (15%
compared with 2.2% for those aged 25 69) [4]. In 2008 09 more than $2 billion was
spent on CHD treatment and expenses more than any other disease in Australia [5].
According to the 2004 05 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
Survey, the prevalence rate for Indigenous Australiansis approximately twice as high
as that for non Indigenous Australians [6]. Indeed, the burden of CHD is greater in
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations too, with acute myocardial
infarctions (AMI) in adults aged 25 and over occurring 2.6 times more often than in
non Indigenous populations. Death rates due to CHD are also higher in Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander populations, factoring in 2.0 and 1.6 times higher for men
and women, respectively, in 2009 2010 [4].

One could say Brecht s play Mother Courage and Her Children is a tragedy with an
anti war message. It follows the tragic events that surround Mother Courage during
the 30 years war. Throughout the war, Mother Courage is trying to make a living
through her cart. In the beginning of the play, she has all three of her children with
her in the cart. However, one by one they get whisked away.
Mother Courage is promised a transaction in return for Eilif being recruited for the
war. Three years later Swiss Cheese is working as a regiment s paymaster. During
the trip to return the paybox he s captured and due to Mother Courage s negotiating
he is shot. Mother Courage refuses his body leaving him to be thrown into a pit. 17
years into the war the last of Mother Courage s children is taken from her. Kattrin
tries to wake the townspeople to prepare for an ambush and is successful but gets

Clostridium Difficile
Prevention of Relapse Following Clostridium difficile Infection
Using Probiotic Lactobacillus casei Shirota This article, which was submitted for
review in 2013, was written by Lennard YW Lee, Ramez Golmohamad, and George
MacFaul of the Department of Gastroenterology, Milton Keynes NHS Foundation
Trust, Standing Way, Milton Keynes MK65LD, United Kingdom. The paper was
accepted for publication August 25, 2013. Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) is an
anaerobic, Gram positive, bacillus shaped bacterium that causes the disease
Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI). One of the reasons this particular species is
so successful and disease causing is because it possesses the ability to form spores,
which makes it very difficult to eradicate, as these spores are able to survive
extreme conditions. C. difficile flourishes in the gastrointestinal tracts of individuals
who have been prescribed broad spectrum antibiotics, as these tend to disrupt the
normal microbiota. If an individual has previously contracted CDI, the likelihood of
future infection(s) is more likely than if it were never contracted, at a rate of ~35%.
The aim of this study, which is actually the first of its kind, is to utilize the probiotic
Lactobacillus casei Shirota (L. casei Shirota) to attempt to suppress the recurrence of
CDI after an initial infection. Probiotics contain a live strain(s) of healthy bacteria
that help rather than harm an individual, and they work by competing with C.

Nesbitt. During Steve s time in jail he decides that diary entries were not working
for him, so he begins recording his experience in screenplay form. Personally, I found
Monster really interesting because the novelhelped me realize how people are
viewed in the eyes of others in certain settings such as, jail and school; the novel
addresses stereotypes of black men being falsely accused and getting sent to jail or
prison for crimes they did not commit, and both novels, Monster and The Absolutely
True Diary Of The Part Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie, address racism that is not
condoned... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Back in 1983 Glenn Ford, a black male, was convicted, by an all white jury, for the
robbery and murder of Isadore Rozeman, who was found shot to death behind the
counter of his jewelry shop. In 2000, the Louisiana Supreme Court ordered a
hearing on Glenn s claim and after credible evidence surfaced that supported the
fact that Glenn did not take part in Isadore s murder, and in 2014 he was a free
man. I believe that many black males, like Glenn and Steve, are thought to always
be the ones who do something wrong, especially when it comes to the law. I
thought you re supposed to be innocent until you re proven guilty? That s true, but
in reality it depends on how the jury sees the case (Myres, 79). These statements
explain how Steve finds out how he is really being judged by the jury. Which led
me to think, are we ever judged guilty before given the chance to prove ourselves?
Moreover, in society they immediately view black males as criminals based off of
the way they look, the clothes they wear and of course their skin colour, the jury
judges them before they hear their pleas of innocence. Steve was accused of
participating in a robbery and murder, not because he was the look out but mainly
because he is black. Therefore, it is clear that due to stereotypes jurors think
differently when there are different races involved in a
Making An Abraham Lincoln Movie
Making an Abraham Lincoln movie can be very tricky and a difficult job.
Everybody knows the story of Abraham Lincoln and knows the persona that
President Lincoln can give out. Spielberg s, Ford s, and Griffith s Lincoln all did
very notable work. Griffith s Lincoln in Birth of a Nation was a worthy
performance by Henabery. Ford s Young Mr. Lincoln was known as one great over
all film. The scenes in the film were spot on and the Lincoln played by young Mr.
Henry Fonda was the best in the business in the 1940s. Abe Lincoln in Illinoiswas
produce by a loser known director, John Cromwell, but it was originally based on a
play by Robert Sherwood. Abe Lincoln in Illinois was nominated for two Oscars,
one of them being for Best Actor. Birth of a Nation, Young Mr. Lincoln, and Abe
Lincoln in Illinois make a strong trio of Lincoln films but none of the can surpass
Lincoln. Mr. Smith goes to Washington is not a Lincoln film but it resonates with
two other Lincoln films, Lincoln and Birth of a Nation. Lincoln turned Mr. Smith
goes to Washington just as it turned Birth of a Nation. The core of the Lincoln films
is the story of how dirty some politicians can be. Lincoln is also considered on of
those dirty politicians in his way he went about abolishing slavery. Remember in the
film Lincoln he birdied Democrats to vote for the 14th amendment by securing them
federal jobs. Although we have looked at some important Lincoln films there are still
some other movies that play
Similarities Between MP3 And Mp3
MP3 and Ogg file formats comparison
MP3 file format
There exist numerous types aural files. Thus, if you desire to alter the sound formats
or replicate the files so that they become playable in different audio players, you
ought to be knowledgeable with various file types. These file types can be
differentiated through examination of the file name extension. With that in mind,
there are compacted audio file types which are preferred by many when downloading,
copying, and storing. MP3(.mp3) and OGG(.ogg) are two of the frequently used
compressed audio file types. The types are christened as lossy compression audio
formats. MPEG 1 Audio Layer III or in short MP3 is a revolutionary digitized aural
file format which permits the audio file to be compressed ... Show more content on

Between the two formats, MP3 is more common than OGG Vorbis.
Regarding sound quality, OGG Vorbis is better than MP3.
MP3 is restricted by copyrights while OGG Vorbis is free for all.
In MP3 the bit rate of compression remains unchanged and cannot be varied while in
OGG Vorbis the compression bit rate can be varied according to your requirements.
Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and Thompson Multimedia developed the MP3 while the
Viph.Org Foundation created OGG Vorbis.
So between MP3 vs. Ogg Which Should You go for?
Now that you know the difference between the two formats which one is best for
you?Owing to its early introduction into the world of file sharing, MP3 became
tremendously fashionable. Its recognition is based on the reality that the phrase
MP3 was synonymic with Compressed audio. The word MP3 is often used by
some people to mean any aural file. On the other hand, the OGG Vorbis file format
is increasingly becoming trendy among developers due to its better quality sound
and free for all code base. Nowadays, the hardware and toy makers are employing
OGG Vorbis in the encoding of their audio files to evade MP3 patent problems and
attain well organized compression. Though, most of the portable music players or
MP3 players do not support the format of OGG Vorbis. The game development
industry highly favors the OGG Vorbis format as it has been significantly used in

Summary Of Forks Over Knives
The Effectiveness of Forks Over Knives In his documentary Forks Over Knives,
Lee Fulkerson sheds a light on the main cause to heart diseases and diabetes
through the help of Dr. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn who have spent
many years researching the negative effects of consuming refined, processed, and
animal based foods. Fulkerson also seeks guidance from Dr. Lederman and Dr. Pulde
to show, through example, what a whole food, plant based diet can do from people
who are struck with these life threatening diseases as well as someone, like
Fulkerson, who lives life without any major diseases but can still benefit greatly
from the diet switch. With the use of statistics, research and science, real life
examples, and visual aids Fulkerson... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn s patient study as well as himself to show these
benefits and by doing so, he effectively gets his point across. Dr. Caldwell
Esselstyn shows credibility through successfully treating over 250 patients with
heart disease by mainly using a whole food, plant based diet and shares some of his
patient s stories (Forks 00:36:58). Dr. Esselstyn was given 24 patients, who were
very sick. Six of his patients dropped out in the first year, leaving him with only 18
to carry on and after five years of eating the plant based diet, 11 patient s heart
diseases halted and the rest and slowed (Forks 00:43:49). This report should
something that expensive medicine and surgeries never have and is thought to be
ground breaking for the study and is a very important detail of the documentary that
Fulkerson uses to, again, prove his argument. To add on top of that, Fulkerson, an
average joe, gets initial blood tests and starts the diet himself and finds that he is
more alert, active, and feels better in general (Forks 00:47:33). Fulkerson
demonstrates to himself and the audience that diet change is the answer through
these real life
Jacksonian Era Essay
The Jacksonian Era (1824 1848)
Although the Age of Jackson wasn t a time era, which brought forth a great
political, social, or economic freedom and equality to the U.S., it did in fact put our
country through a metamorphosis in our political lives of the nation. The start of a
new presidency (Jackson s presidency) was accompanied by huge numbers of
Hickoryites (Jacksonian supporters) and official hopefuls. Many of these hopefuls
were granted their desire of holding office, which is one of the changes brought into
Washington by Andrew Jackson.
The major accomplishments of Jackson during his presidency pertain to his rural
upbringing and democratic beliefs. To name a couple of Jackson s memorable
accomplishments and decisions not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The selection of officials of Jackson was in many cases the return of a financial grant
during campaigning. The consideration of the ability to govern, have intelligence and
responsibility etc. were ignored in the wake of compensation. Although opposites
alike were granted power they were not always for the continuance of democracy.
Jackson was the most democratic of any president at that time to come to power. In
practically all areas of political application there was the existence of liberal thinking.
This was especially apparent in his previously mentioned appointment of officials.
Jackson considered the roles of officials fairly simple and could and should be
carried out by all people not just the members of the socially and intellectually elite.
The belief of complete equality is with out a doubt Jacksonian. Despite this already
democratic view, Jackson took it one step further and appointed the illiterate and plain
incompetent members of society to office.
Tariffs plagued the president also many times, but the most remembered were the
Tariff of Abominations in 1828, and the tariff of 1832. South Carolina passed an
Ordinance of Nullification, and upset Jackson tremendously. They stated that those
tariffs were null and void to South Carolina, and it would be unlawful to collect for
duties. They also had the nerve to warn the
Rhetorical Analysis Of President Obama s Immigration
Speech
In this immigration speech, President Obama uses a series of rhetorical devices.
He mentions several times that there over 11 million undocumented immigrants in
the United States. This a form of repetition. Furthermore, he also uses anaphora.
When speaking about early immigrants and immigrants today he says they faced
hardship, they faced racism and they faced ridicule , He also repeats many other
words consequently in the same sentence of the speech and these include, I m here
because, now is the time to, strengthen our, it keeps our, we have to, and you ll
help us. Another literacy device that is employed in this speech is antithesis.
Examples of these include, holding us back instead of helping us grow , It s not
about the folks who come here illegally... it s about the folks who try to come here
legally , not how you grow new industries in America. That s how you give new
industries to our competitors and not just a debate about policy. It s about people and
it will not be a quick process but it will be a fair one (Skellon 1).
President Obama also uses tricolon. When he was speaking about what he done
regarding immigration reform and what he plans to do, he uses first, second and third
to list his order.
When speaking about the dreamers he says that these youth have grown up here,
built their lives here, have futures here. Also, when giving his story on Alan, he
says that he went to an American school, pledged allegiance to the American flag,
felt American in every way . Moreover, he also integrates anadiplosis into the
speech when he says that . He also uses hydrophora when he asks the question, Do
we have the resolve as a people, as a country, as a government to finally put this
issue behind us? He then proceeds with answering his own question. President
Obama also use an anecdote. He uses the story of Alan, a young immigrant from
Mexico, who faced adversity in his early years, but now is studying at the university
and living the American Dream. He is using human interest stories which is
techniques used by majority of the former Presidents. Last but not least, he also
employs the use of parallelism. Examples of these include the Irish who left behind a
land of famine. The Germans who fled
What Is Cosmic Irony In Odysseus
Odysseus fulfills the first criteria of cosmic irony when it becomes clear that a
powerful god, or fate itself, has the ability and desire to manipulate and control
events in his life. Odysseus wants to explore the land of the Cyclops leading him to
get trapped in Polyphemus cave. To escape this alive, he must blind Polyphemus.
After escaping Odysseustaunts the cyclopsleading Polyphemus to curse his trip
home. Since Polyphemus knew that he would be blinded by a man named
Odysseus; All this, he warned me, would come to pass someday that I d be blinded
here at the hands of Odysseus (9. 569 570) Within this quote, it is apparent to the
reader that it was inevitable for Odysseus to go to the land of the Cyclops and blind
Polyphemus because Polyphemus was always told he would encounter Odysseus
one day, leading Odysseus to having his trip cursed by the god Poseidon after he
blinded his son.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The land of the Cyclops wasn t the only place he was brought to by fate and a tad
bit of curiosity; Odysseus goes to Circe s, only to have almost all his men turned to
swine by the devious nymph. Being the hero Odysseus is, he makes the journey to
Circe s castle to save them. Along the way, he meets Hermes, messenger of the
gods, who tells him that the only way to save his comrades is too not fall for Circe s
spell, causing her to be amazed by his greatness; You must be Odysseus, man of
twists and turns (10.366). Little did Odysseus know, Circe already knew of his
arrival; Hermes the giant killer, god of golden wand, he always said you d come,
homeward bound from Troy in your swift black ship
The Neurological System And The Central Nervous System
The nervous system is what helps communicate with the entire body and its
activities. The nervous system is made up of two major parts of the system; the
central and the peripheral. The central nervous system (CNS) is made of the brain
and spinal cord, (Get Healthy Stay Healthy, n.d). The job of the CNS is that is to
integrate the information that is coming back from the body and peripheral nervous
system. It works subconsciously and consciously to control all the activities. The
work that the peripheral nervous systemcarries out is to communicate messages
between the central nervous systemand the body, (Ptdirect, 2010).
The nervous system and the skeletal system support one another. The many instances

Miss Brill Loneliness
Miss Brill is a story about an old woman that lacks companionship and self
awareness. She lives by herself and goes through life in a repetitive manner. Each
Sunday, Miss Brill ventures down to the park to watch and listen to the band play.
She finds herself listening not only to the band, but also to strangers who walk
together and converse before her. Her interest in the lives of those around her shows
the reader that MissBrill lacks companionship.
Loneliness plays an extremely large part of Miss Brill s life and can be proven by
things in the story. An example of Miss Brill s lack of companionship is when she
visits the park on Sunday s. Not only did she look forward to listening to the band
but she also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As she takes tired step after tired step she thinks about how lonely life can be
sometimes. Miss Brill is gingerly moving along hoping to see someone ready to
talk. Maybe some words spoken to her, or perhaps someone else. As Miss Brill
walks the cold winter wind pushes against her. She feels that another stiff wind
would knock her down. She comes across her favorite spot, McCooley s Tavern. It
is a damp and musty place that never really has anyone in it. The grayness of the
walls makes Miss Brill s hair look platinum blonde.
She hopes that today someone will be there, as she enters the door. Once again it
is empty except for Sal, the bartender. As she sits on the bar stool and orders her
favorite drink, a ginger ale with no ice, Miss Brill cannot but wonder who will walk
thru the door next. Maybe she can hear their conversation, maybe she can be in it, or
maybe they will ask her how her day was. This routine is what goes on daily for Miss
Brill. She walks a cold path to a lonely bar, but does so in a timely fashion. Can she
be a part of someone s conversation today? Can she listen to someone else s
problems? Well, at least tomorrow is another day.
Miss Brill is portrayed as a lonely woman who likes her routine. She is used to her
routine of loneliness. She goes to sit in that park bench and listen to the band play
because Miss Brill is used to it. She has run her life in a straight line and still
Foundations Of Absolutism In 16th To 18th Century Europe
16th to 18th century Europe was defined by numerous reforms and changes brought
on by monarchs adopting the practice of Absolutism. Absolutism is a political system
where monarchs have unlimited, centralized authority, and absolute sovereignty over
a nation. During the rise of absolutism in Europe, many rulers were recognized by
their immense power and displays of control, this includes the standout figure, King
Louis XIV. The foundations of modern Europe were built upon several events and
movements spanning 15th to 18th century. To start, the Middle Ages were ruled by
the policy of feudalism, with the Catholic Church being the center of society. The
omnipresence of the church resulted in a series of religious acts and movements to
break out, including crusades. Overtime, crusades indirectly opened up trade and
promoted new ideas, which took power away from the Church and went towards
monarchs. The nearly limitless power of monarchs was abused and resulted in the
enactment of the Magna Carta, a document restricting power of monarchs. From that
day forward, absolutist leaders rose to power, starting in Spain and eventually moving
North during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Scientific Revolution. Many of
which, were reforms and revolutions absolutist leaders had a hand in. However,
monarchs had various restriction on them which made it difficult to achieve change,
including nobility, constitutions, and traditional views of ruling. A notable leader of
the time who best
Persuasive Essay On Winter Blues
When the cold weather comes around, it s easy for the winter blues to take effect.
With snow on the ground, ice on the windshield, and below freezing temperatures
to battle with throughout the day, most people just want to get getaway from it all
and for good reasons too. If you haven t felt it yet, it might important to note that:
the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays, when it s time to take
down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and prepare
yourself for the upcoming year. That s because the vast majority of people find
that winter is an extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy
and excitement about practically anything. Fortunately, a visit to any of your
favorite warmer climate destinations will have you forgetting about the slush, ice,
snow boots, and dark season in no time. So, if you find that you re unmotivated,
checked out, and heavy hearted, try to fight these feelings by taking steps towards
the light even in the darkest part of winter. That, of course, is easier said than done
for some people. If you and your family are in need of a winter vacation but if cost is
a major factor, consider one of these affordable and super fun destinations where
your money will go a lot farther. Dallas, Texas Some of you may have all heard
that everything is bigger in Texas and well, it is. Dallas isn t home to just the
Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, and Stars, it s also home to some of the
Government Is Involved Too Much Into Health And
Human...
I personally believe that government is involved too much into health and human
services. When I see the percentage of the funds that go into health and human
services it s nice to see that the government recognizes the importance of keeping its
citizens healthy and taking action to provide citizens with Medicaid and Medicare.
The issue I have is the complexity and aggravation it causes the majority when they
go a little to overboard. In my opinion its perfect when the governmentfocuses on
significant issues that affectthe masses that helps everyone. In the past it would have
been acceptable for stateand local government to direct a huge portion of its funds
into dealing with hookworm, an infection that in places like Georgia affected a total
of 51.7 percent of people. This was a disease that affected everyone no matter what
social status or life choices you had, in that time period. It was effective that they
completed public work projects and worked on providing everyone with sanitary
conditions and hospitals.
Personally I think it s the governments job to protect the people even if it is not an
economically smart decision. When government is getting to personal and
aggressive by forcing people to pay for Medicare or Medicaid in which if the person
doesn t not get Medicare or Medicaid results in them getting a separate tax to being
doing a little too much. I think that the government crosses the line some times in the
amount of benefits that they are giving out to the

Essay My Family. Essay about my family Words short essay on My Family

  • 1. Essay My Family Writing an essay on the topic "Essay My Family" might seem like a straightforward task at first, considering that the subject matter is familiar and personal. After all, who knows your family better than you do? However, as with any seemingly simple topic, the challenge lies in presenting your thoughts in a cohesive, engaging, and meaningful manner. The difficulty arises in striking the right balance between providing enough information to create a vivid picture of your family while avoiding unnecessary details that may derail the main focus. It requires a delicate blend of introspection and storytelling, weaving anecdotes and memories into a narrative that not only reflects your family's dynamics but also captivates the reader's interest. Furthermore, the challenge is not just in narrating the facts but in infusing the essay with emotions and reflections that make it resonate with the reader. Crafting an essay about your family demands introspection, self-awareness, and the ability to convey the unique aspects of your family life that set it apart from others. There's a fine line between being too sentimental and overly factual, and finding that balance requires a keen understanding of your audience. Whether you're writing for a class assignment or personal reflection, connecting with your reader is crucial. It involves selecting the right anecdotes, using descriptive language, and structuring the essay in a way that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic "Essay My Family" may seem deceptively simple, the difficulty lies in creating a compelling narrative that effectively communicates the essence of your family while maintaining the reader's interest. It's a task that requires not only a good understanding of writing techniques but also a deep reflection on the significance of family in your life. If you find yourself struggling with this or any other writing task, it's worth considering seeking assistance. • 2. Analysis Of The Myth Of Sisyphus Connor McGlynn February 2, 2014 Eshleman Camus Essay Much of Camus writing in the Myth of Sisyphus is trying to get the reader to understand the idea of absurdity, and what can be done with it. In this essay I will attempt to determine whether the acceptance of absurdity does indeed make life better. Camus states that there are a few different ways one can deal with the absurdity of life, it could drive one to suicide, it could have someone take a leap of faith and hope there is meaning to life, or if people recognize the absurdity of life it makes people truly free when they realize they are freed of values and religion, and it would make their living experience intensify. Camus arguments strike a cord with many religious people who lean on their respective religions to give their lives meaning and a value system to lean on. I find some parts of Camus logic to hold weight and others, not so much. For the sake of this essay I will first explain what Camus notion of absurdity is, the responses to absurdity Camus has outlined in the writing, the question of revolt and why I believe it fails to hold weight. Camus, having lived through World War II in Europe, had an outlook on life that is (hopefully) very difficult for many of us to understand. His notion of absurdity comes from the realization that everyone at some point in his or her life has a moment of why am I doing this or why am I here on earth or something very similar to that. What Camus means by
  • 3. Ryan Lochte s Gas Station Scandal Case Analysis: Lochtegate Ryan Lochte s gas station scandal in Brazil during Olympics Alycia Ikegami The Olympics is a worldwide event when countries all over the world come together and celebrate culture, sportsmanship and athleticism. It is an opportunity for people to come together, whether at the venue or at home, it is a celebration full of excitement. During this time, swimmer Ryan Lochte, along with three other swimmers, were involved in an incident at a local gas station in Rio de Janeiro. It was reported on Sunday Aug 14, 2016, US Olympian Ryan Lochte and three other swimmers claimed they were robbed at gunpoint. The swimmers had stopped at the gas station to use the bathroom when the incident occurred. Lochte was the first of the group to speak publicly on the incident. When the story first came out, Lochte had told NBC News Billy Bush that a gun was pointed at his head. This was only the beginning of the public relations crisis case. Three days later, Lochte, returned to the United States and continued to stick to his story while being interviewed by the Today Show s Matt Lauer. In the mean time, two of the swimmers were pulled off a plane. The passports of the other swimmers were being held while they were being questioned, not being able to leave the country. Four days after the initial incident, Rio police announced that Lochte had lied about what had happened at the gas station. The real story behind this incident is that the men had
  • 4. The Importance Of Computers In Communication Codes As motivated above, it is often necessary to be able to reliably send data over noisy or otherwise unreliable communication channels. We can use error correction codes to help mitigate the introduction of errors into our data. To do this, we can divide our data into smaller pieces called messages and map these messages to codewords through a process called encoding. This process will provide necessary redundancy to correct a certain number of introduced errors during the decoding process. An (n, k) block code C is an injective map E : Q k 7в†’ Q n where Q is a set of symbols called our alphabet. The size of our alphabet, |Q| is denoted as q. In many practical applications q = 2 where Q = {0, 1}. E(m) = c maps our message m of length k to our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... . . , k, a contradiction. Thus, h(x) = 0 and f(x) = g(x). 3 Thus, the added n в€’ k points provide redundancy in case an error occurs during transmission of our message. We ll write our received word as c 0 = (y0, y1, . . . , ynв€’1). Suppose that an error does occur. Theoretically, we could decode the message by taking all subsets of size k of (y0, y1, . . . , ynв€’1) and interpolate each of the k numbers in each subset to determine a polynomial of degree k в€’ 1. We could then find which polynomial occurs most often. The coefficients of that polynomial would then be taken as the original message [9]. Obviously we cannot perform this decoding procedure due to computational constraints. We would need to find n k polynomials which is infeasible for even slightly large values of n and k. For this reason, the original formulation of the codewords was changed. Let our alphabet Q be a finite field Fpm for some prime p generated by f(x) with primitive element О±. We construct for our code a generator polynomial g(x) whose roots are О±, О±2 , . . . , О±t where t = n в€’ k. In other words g(x) = Y t i=1 (x в€’ О± i ). Again, let p(x) = Pkв€’1 i=0 mix i . To achieve a systematic Reed Solomon encoding (non systematic encodings exist, but will not be discussed here), our codeword is defined as c(x) = x t p(x) в€’ x t p(x)modg(x) (2) Notice that the first term in c(x) yields a (n в€’ k) + k в€’ 1 = n в€’ 1 degree polynomial where the lowest n в€’ k degree terms have coefficient 0. Norway s Economy And The European Trade Union Although Norway s economy is integrated in the market of the European Union [EU], it is still one of the countries not formally included in this organization. Previously known as the European Economic Commission in 1972, Norway did not join the EU. In 1994, Norway once again rejected membership to the European Union based on a referendum: 47.6% voted yes but 52.4% voted no to membership of the EU. Instead, Norway signed the European Economic AreaAgreement (EEA). This Agreement guarantees the internal market s four freedoms: the free movement of goods, people, services and capital. Norway is the EU s fifth most important partner for trading goods such as metal, seafood, oil, and the 32nd largest export economy in the world (Norway par 2). According to the World Bank Report in 2015, this country is one of the ten countries friendliest to business. Prosperous and developed, Norway has one of the world s lowest unemployment rates at 4.6% in 2015 (doing Business in Norway 3). Since the discovery of oil beneath the North Sea located to its southwest, Norway has been the world s seventh largest oil exporter and gas exporter, with petroleum as the country s largest industrialized sector. Abundant oil indicates that Norway will enjoy continuing wealth. Moreover, petroleum revenue received by the state s government is transferred to the Government Pension Fund, thus assisting Norway in providing generous Social Services. The EEA Agreement does not cover Common Fisheries Policy, the COmmon Commission POlicy, and the Economic and Monetary Union. Common Fisheries Policy guarantees EU fishing fleets equal access to any EU waters and fishing grounds. Norway benefits by managing and controlling its own fish stocks and waters, and not being required to share these with other nations fishermen besides the EFTA states who are also in the EEA Agreement. Today s youth is made up of social media, living, breathing, and sleeping alongside social media. It s the base or a place we feel like we can truly belong to and to be with people we know or have mutual friends with. In a day and age where teens are sending Snapchats instead of passing handwritten notes and selfie has become a regular part of our vocabulary, there s no denying that social media are impacting the way teenagers view themselves (Pyle Par. 4). • 7. Supply Chain Management And Logistics Essay Supply Chain management and logistics are an extremely important functions of an organization. In this research paper, we will be discussing an aspect of supply chain and logistics that I am interested in, how both are related and different, key activities in supply chain and logistics, and the ethics and social responsibility in both supply chain and logisticsmanagement. Logistics is a vital component of supply chain management. Both involve the planning, carrying out and management of goods, services and information from the point of origin to the point of consumption. Logistics aligns the multifaceted pattern of traffic and transportation, shipping and receiving, import and export operations, warehousing, inventory management, purchasing, production planning and customer service. Organizations, like the one I work for, see logistics as a critical design of the supply chain. When organizations incorporate logistics as a key component of the business plan, they can use it to manage, coordinate and monitor resources needed to move products in a smooth, timely, cost effective and reliable manner. Like Logistics, Supply Chain Management is an essential element of operational efficiency. The impact that supply chain has on our organization is substantial and exponential. Two of the main ways SCM affects business include: boosts customer service and our overall bottom line. Supply chain impacts our customer service by making sure the right product assortment and quantity are

Moreover, wealthy Pashtuns are privy to an education while Hazaras are mostly prone to menial and simple household chores. As a Pashtun living in the wealthy neighborhood known as Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, Amir has the privilege of receiving an education and gaining literacy, while Hassan remains illiterate, cooking and cleaning with his father Ali, in Baba s home. In spite of illiteracy, Hassan s shrewdness can be seen when he finds a plot hole in one of Amir s short stories. Amir himself acknowledges, however, the superior and cold voice within which states, What does he know, that illiterate Hazara? He ll never be anything but a cook. How dare he criticize you (34)? The discrimination between Pashtuns and Hazaras is a strong undertone which advertently and inadvertently affects the relationship between Amir and Hassan. The conflict seen in Hassan and Amir s relationship of based, sadly, on unilateral love and exploitation which leads to the terrible crime committed against Hassan. Dr. King Every January 15th we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr as one of the most polarizing figures of his time. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Bilingual Education In 1967, a senator in Texas named Ralph Yarborough introduced the Bilingual Education Act. Through this act, the federal government was to provide funds to schools to have bilingual educational programs. The act primarily focused on Spanish speaking children, but later was amended to benefit other children as well (Glavin). Several states in the United States opposed bilingual educationand in 2002, Initiative 31 was on the Colorado ballot. Initiative or Amendment 31, required schools to be taught only in English (figure 1). Parents were given the option to request bilingual education, but it would be extremely difficult for it to be accepted, due to schools having the right to deny their request. Instead, non English speakers would be placed in an English immersion program. In this program, students would be given a year to learn English and later move to a normal classroom ( Amendment 31 ). On November 5, 2002, the initiative was rejected by 55 percent (Benz 1). Considering the rejection of the initiative, Colorado began adapting programs to assist English language learners (ELLs). Nonetheless, dual language education remains highly controversial. While bilingual education has many positive outcomes, we cannot ignore the fact that it is not 100 percent effective. Not every child learns the same; therefore, bilingual education does not provide equal opportunities for everyone. Instead of completely throwing bilingual education out the window, we should turn to alternatives
  • 12. Religious Conflict Between Two Christian Sects,... Religion in Elizabethan England was complex, and the leaders of the time were the reason behind this complication. This religious conflict between two Christian sects, Catholicism and the new Reformation religions (such as the Church of England and Protestantism) began with Henry VIII. In order to obtain a divorce from one of his wives, he created the Church of England, which he was the head of. Starting with him, the monarch controlled religion, which had previously been controlled by the pope. According to Aurelia Clunie, Unlike America, England at the time had no separation between church and state. Traditionally, the country was ruled politically by the king and spiritually by the Roman Catholic Church. However, Shakespeare s was the first generation in which the monarch, rather than the Pope, served as the country s spiritual head (Clunie). Because of this shift in power, religion became a battleground. Religion in Elizabethan England became conflicted between Catholicism and Reformation religions, such as Protestantism. Clunie states, With Queen Elizabeth on the throne, the pendulum swung back toward Protestantism. In efforts to quell sectarian violence, Elizabeth was lenient toward practicing Catholics, however specific laws, such as fining those who did not attend church, kept the Church of England firmly in place (Clunie). While there were measures to appease Catholics, which was kinder than her sister s slaughter of Protestants, there was inequality in

  • 16. Human Emotions In Ernest Wingway By Ernest Hemingway Theme is the central idea in a piece of writing or other work of art. It helps to set a set of tones when the piece of writing is read, or the art is viewed. A Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway, A Dream deferred by Langston Hughes, and On a Play Seen Twice by F. Scott Fitzgerald all show various main themes of human emotions. Human emotions can range from positive to negative feelings, and all the emotions in between. In these stories various human emotions are displayed throughout the content. Loneliness is a human emotionthat is seen and represented often, in more ways than one. It is an emotion that is not always an easy one to be identified, but many people identify with it, each in a different way. In the story, A Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway expresses a theme of loneliness. Krebs is a solider from World War 2, who returned home much later than most soldiers. In the story it is written, Later he felt the need to talk but no one wanted to hear about it. His town had heard too many atrocity stories to be thrilled by actualities, Krebs found that to be listened to at all he had to lie and after he had done this twice he, too, had a reaction against the war and against talking about it ( Ernest Hemingway Soldier s Home ). After being home from the war for a short period of time, Krebs felt alone in the manner where he could not talk about the war and his experience. When he did talk about the war, what he told was not his truth; he felt as though he could

The Harry always defeats the Voldemort. This is because when a Christ figure is developed, there are certain expectations that go along with that. However, what happens when a Christ figure fails to fulfill their duty? In The Glass Menagerie, a play by Tennessee Williams, Laura s mother Amanda wants Laura to have a suitor. Finally, Tom Laura s sister invites Jim O Connor, one of his friends from work over to have a meal. Amanda goes into a frenzy preparing for him, and when he arrives he appears like the perfect suitor. As the night goes on, Jim eventually seduces Laura and then leaves in a rush. In Tennessee Williams s play, The Glass Menagerie, Williams uses a ironic Christfigure to demonstrate how illusions tear a family apart. Jim is meant to be the savior of this household. He is the central Christ figure in this play. He is built up and anticipated much like the Messiah, JesusChrist. He calls himself Superman, one of the most prominent Christ figures in pop culture. Even his name Jim O Connor, has the same initials as Jesus Christ. JC, Jim O Connor, JC, Jesus Christ. Amanda goes into a frenzy making preparations for Jim after Tom finally informs her of the visit. On page 42 she says, Why didn t you phone me at once ... • 20. Essay about The Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals Can suicide be justified as morally correct? This is one of the many questions Immanuel Kant answers in, The Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals . Kant discusses many questions with arguable answers, which explains why he is one of the most controversial philosophers still today. Throughout Kant s work, multiple ideas are considered, but the Categorical Imperativeis one of the most prevalent. Though this concept is extremely dense, the Categorical Imperative is the law of freedom that grounds pure ethics of the metaphysics of ethics. Categorical imperatives are the basis of moralitybecause they provoke pure reasons for every human beings actions. By the end of his work, one will understand Kant s beliefs on morality, but to explain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, there are few to none examples of a Categorical Imperative, because as Kant would believe, they have to be actions that are good in themselves completely. To arrive at the Categorical Imperative, Kant starts off by explaining that an action is good without qualification if done from duty and not primarily from inclination, or ulterior motives. This, in a more simplified manner, means an action is good if it was the right thing to do and a person did it for the sake of duty and not because of anything else, like instincts or feelings. Kant believes there are very few people in this world that can actually live up to the standard of duty. From this point, Kant states that moral worth is determined by the rule or principle by which an action has been decided, not in the purpose to be attained by it. This statement goes back to the difference of means versus ends; is a person s action based on the mean or is it based on ends? After Kant arrives at this, he then affirms that duty is the reverence for the law. The difference between reason and will is established at this point. Reason, or thought, can be described as theoretical or pure reason, or it can be described as practical reason. Kant describes theoretical reason as determining a given concept, but practical reason is idea of making the concept actual. Will, on the other side, can be broken down to either the holy will or empirically mixed

One of these controversial acts was the invocation of the War Measures Act in 1970, an act which suspended the civil liberties of Canadian citizens. In October 1970, in what became known as the October Crisis, the Front de libГ©ration du QuГ©bec, (commonly known as the FLQ) which was a French Canadian organization advocating independence from Canada, kidnapped two politicians. Later that evening, two FLQ members kidnapped Pierre Laporte, the Quebec Minister of Labour. Five days later after still refusing to meet the FLQ demands, Trudeau calls upon the War Measures Act. Under the regulations of the Act, which dated back to World War One, Trudeau s government suspended the civil liberties of Canadian citizens, and were able to arrest and detain anyone suspected of belonging to the FLQ, or even supporting the FLQ. • 23. A Critical View of the Audit Expectation Gap and Audit... Audit Expectation Gap Audit Rotation A Critical View Auditing is one of the most critical fields where the external auditors are always subjected to criticism and legal regulations which are mostly directed against them. Mostly this criticism arises because of lack of sufficient understanding of how the company law and auditing standards work and also due to related misconception about the actual role of an auditor (Porter, 1993). This lack of understanding is called expectation gap where the outcomes of the audit expected and its actual purpose varies. One solution to this fundamental issue is to reduce this expectation gap by providing a clear definition of auditor s role and also the audit function that is required to be performed by him. However, during this defining phase, it is necessary to consider whether an audit rotation would reduce this audit expectation gap. This term, Audit Expectation Gap was coined by Liggio in 1974. It was established as the perceived difference between the desired performance levels as observed by the independent auditor and by the user of financial statements (Liggio, 1974, p.2). Tweedie further elaborated this predicament by saying, The public appears to require (1) a burglar alarm system (protection against fraud).....(2) a radar station (early warning of future insolvency).....(3) a safety net (general re assurance of financial well being).....(4) an independent auditor (safeguards for auditor independence).....and (5)

Dart is a multi purpose, garbage collected, class based, programming language that borrows the same C like syntax as many modern programming languages out there. Dart was originally developed by Google and released on 2011. [1] The main usages of Dart are four; compiled as JavaScript to run in the Chromium web browser, stand alone by using the Dart Virtual Machine, and ahead of time compiled into machine code. In other to run on the main stream web browsers, Dart relies on a source to source compiler to JavaSript , which is basically a type of compiler that takes the source code in one language as input, and output a source code in another language. This is the opposite to tradicional compilers, which translate between a high level language to a lower level, while source to source translate to a langauge within the same level of abstraction. In some cases, code written in Dart can run faster than the same code written using JavaScript. In my opinion, I believe that the target of Dart s designers is to substitute JavaScript in the future. By allowing source to source compilation and integrating a Dart VM to the Chromium browser, I beleive this is an attempt to make people use Dart instead of

The approach Chester uses to describe a hard situation by using the structure, symbolism and prosody he specifically picks out makes the song catchy and relatable. The way he forms the song and the words he picked out allows a depressing moment to become an inspiration for anyone going through hard times. The most important literary term is structure, this is the beginning layout of the poem, story or song. This is how the poem is organized it is where the author decides how the story is to begin, the details that are going to keep the reader intrigued, the crisis and the climax and the way the poem is to end, the resolution. Even in the song In the End there is an outline of how it begins and ends. Right away the author shows that there is a major complication, he has worked hard at reaching a goal or helping a person and has failed. Then further down in the lyrics he shows the crisis, where all of the reasons are starting to build up as to why he has decided not to stay with the other character in the song, he sings reasons like when you were mocking me, acting like I was your property and fighting all the time. He even sings about everything has changed and there is no way to bring it back. He then lines it up with when the chorus hits; we see the resolution of the song. This part shows the realization that

People often say that inequality is a thing of the past, however it has been a serious problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today. Women are often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. • 36. The Importance Of Advertising In Advertising Advertising and advertisement(s) are defined as any message, the content of which message is controlled directly or indirectly by the advertiser expressed in any language and communicated in any medium to Canadians with the intent to influence their choice, opinion or behavior (Ad Standards, 2017). Puffery is used in many outlets of advertising; it is the practice of making exaggerated, fanciful, or highly suggestive claims about a product or service. Usually the exaggeration is obvious and concerns subjective feelings or non material associations (Arrington, Lutz p.83, 1991, p.469). An example of this would be the Molson Canadian beer ad described the product as cold, clean and crisp . Any beer is cold if you put it in the fridge, and warm if you don t. You would hope that every beer is clean, that no poisonous chemicals or rodent droppings got into it at the factory. Carrot sticks are crisp, potatoes chips are crisp, but beer is wet not crunchy (Beam, 2008, 8.3.1). However, the words cold, clean and crisp are effective puffery. It s supposed to lead you to believe this beer is better than others. This classic justification for advertising contends that ads simply give us information, which allows us to purchase what we want(Arrington, 1991, p.472). The most basic ethical concerns raised by advertising is sending consumers false information about a product or service as well as promoting a materialistic lifestyle that engages people, especially teens or young

Indeed, the burden of CHD is greater in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations too, with acute myocardial infarctions (AMI) in adults aged 25 and over occurring 2.6 times more often than in non Indigenous populations. Death rates due to CHD are also higher in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations, factoring in 2.0 and 1.6 times higher for men and women, respectively, in 2009 2010 [4].

Clostridium Difficile Prevention of Relapse Following Clostridium difficile Infection Using Probiotic Lactobacillus casei Shirota This article, which was submitted for review in 2013, was written by Lennard YW Lee, Ramez Golmohamad, and George MacFaul of the Department of Gastroenterology, Milton Keynes NHS Foundation Trust, Standing Way, Milton Keynes MK65LD, United Kingdom. The paper was accepted for publication August 25, 2013. Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) is an anaerobic, Gram positive, bacillus shaped bacterium that causes the disease Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI). One of the reasons this particular species is so successful and disease causing is because it possesses the ability to form spores, which makes it very difficult to eradicate, as these spores are able to survive extreme conditions. C. difficile flourishes in the gastrointestinal tracts of individuals who have been prescribed broad spectrum antibiotics, as these tend to disrupt the normal microbiota. If an individual has previously contracted CDI, the likelihood of future infection(s) is more likely than if it were never contracted, at a rate of ~35%. The aim of this study, which is actually the first of its kind, is to utilize the probiotic Lactobacillus casei Shirota (L. casei Shirota) to attempt to suppress the recurrence of CDI after an initial infection. Probiotics contain a live strain(s) of healthy bacteria that help rather than harm an individual, and they work by competing with C. difficile s

  • 44. Walter Dean Myers s Monster And All-White Male Stereotypes Monster by Walter Dean Myers is a novel about a black teenage boy, named Steve Harmon, who is accused of being an accessory to a robbery and the murder of Mr. Nesbitt. During Steve s time in jail he decides that diary entries were not working for him, so he begins recording his experience in screenplay form. Personally, I found Monster really interesting because the novelhelped me realize how people are viewed in the eyes of others in certain settings such as, jail and school; the novel addresses stereotypes of black men being falsely accused and getting sent to jail or prison for crimes they did not commit, and both novels, Monster and The Absolutely True Diary Of The Part Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie, address racism that is not condoned... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Back in 1983 Glenn Ford, a black male, was convicted, by an all white jury, for the robbery and murder of Isadore Rozeman, who was found shot to death behind the counter of his jewelry shop. In 2000, the Louisiana Supreme Court ordered a hearing on Glenn s claim and after credible evidence surfaced that supported the fact that Glenn did not take part in Isadore s murder, and in 2014 he was a free man. I believe that many black males, like Glenn and Steve, are thought to always be the ones who do something wrong, especially when it comes to the law. I thought you re supposed to be innocent until you re proven guilty? That s true, but in reality it depends on how the jury sees the case (Myres, 79). These statements explain how Steve finds out how he is really being judged by the jury. Which led me to think, are we ever judged guilty before given the chance to prove ourselves? Moreover, in society they immediately view black males as criminals based off of the way they look, the clothes they wear and of course their skin colour, the jury judges them before they hear their pleas of innocence. Steve was accused of participating in a robbery and murder, not because he was the look out but mainly because he is black. Therefore, it is clear that due to stereotypes jurors think differently when there are different races involved in a

Everybody knows the story of Abraham Lincoln and knows the persona that President Lincoln can give out. Spielberg s, Ford s, and Griffith s Lincoln all did very notable work. Griffith s Lincoln in Birth of a Nation was a worthy performance by Henabery. Ford s Young Mr. Lincoln was known as one great over all film. The scenes in the film were spot on and the Lincoln played by young Mr. Henry Fonda was the best in the business in the 1940s. Abe Lincoln in Illinoiswas produce by a loser known director, John Cromwell, but it was originally based on a play by Robert Sherwood. Abe Lincoln in Illinois was nominated for two Oscars, one of them being for Best Actor. Birth of a Nation, Young Mr. Lincoln, and Abe Lincoln in Illinois make a strong trio of Lincoln films but none of the can surpass Lincoln. Mr. Smith goes to Washington is not a Lincoln film but it resonates with two other Lincoln films, Lincoln and Birth of a Nation. Lincoln turned Mr. Smith goes to Washington just as it turned Birth of a Nation. The core of the Lincoln films is the story of how dirty some politicians can be. Lincoln is also considered on of those dirty politicians in his way he went about abolishing slavery. Although opposites alike were granted power they were not always for the continuance of democracy. Jackson was the most democratic of any president at that time to come to power. In practically all areas of political application there was the existence of liberal thinking. This was especially apparent in his previously mentioned appointment of officials. Jackson considered the roles of officials fairly simple and could and should be carried out by all people not just the members of the socially and intellectually elite. The belief of complete equality is with out a doubt Jacksonian. Despite this already democratic view, Jackson took it one step further and appointed the illiterate and plain incompetent members of society to office. Tariffs plagued the president also many times, but the most remembered were the Tariff of Abominations in 1828, and the tariff of 1832. He mentions several times that there over 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. This a form of repetition. Furthermore, he also uses anaphora. When speaking about early immigrants and immigrants today he says they faced hardship, they faced racism and they faced ridicule , He also repeats many other words consequently in the same sentence of the speech and these include, I m here because, now is the time to, strengthen our, it keeps our, we have to, and you ll help us. Another literacy device that is employed in this speech is antithesis. Examples of these include, holding us back instead of helping us grow , It s not about the folks who come here illegally... it s about the folks who try to come here legally , not how you grow new industries in America. That s how you give new industries to our competitors and not just a debate about policy. It s about people and it will not be a quick process but it will be a fair one (Skellon 1). President Obama also uses tricolon. When he was speaking about what he done regarding immigration reform and what he plans to do, he uses first, second and third to list his order. When speaking about the dreamers he says that these youth have grown up here, built their lives here, have futures here. Also, when giving his story on Alan, he says that he went to an American school, pledged allegiance to the American flag, felt American in every way . Moreover, he also integrates anadiplosis into the speech when he says that . He also uses hydrophora when he asks the question, Do we have the resolve as a people, as a country, as a government to finally put this issue behind us? He then proceeds with answering his own question. President Obama also use an anecdote. He uses the story of Alan, a young immigrant from Mexico, who faced adversity in his early years, but now is studying at the university and living the American Dream. He is using human interest stories which is techniques used by majority of the former Presidents. Last but not least, he also employs the use of parallelism. Absolutism is a political system where monarchs have unlimited, centralized authority, and absolute sovereignty over a nation. During the rise of absolutism in Europe, many rulers were recognized by their immense power and displays of control, this includes the standout figure, King Louis XIV. The foundations of modern Europe were built upon several events and movements spanning 15th to 18th century. To start, the Middle Ages were ruled by the policy of feudalism, with the Catholic Church being the center of society. The omnipresence of the church resulted in a series of religious acts and movements to break out, including crusades. Overtime, crusades indirectly opened up trade and promoted new ideas, which took power away from the Church and went towards monarchs. The nearly limitless power of monarchs was abused and resulted in the enactment of the Magna Carta, a document restricting power of monarchs. From that day forward, absolutist leaders rose to power, starting in Spain and eventually moving North during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Scientific Revolution. Many of which, were reforms and revolutions absolutist leaders had a hand in. However, monarchs had various restriction on them which made it difficult to achieve change, including nobility, constitutions, and traditional views of ruling. A notable leader of the time who best

When I see the percentage of the funds that go into health and human services it s nice to see that the government recognizes the importance of keeping its citizens healthy and taking action to provide citizens with Medicaid and Medicare. The issue I have is the complexity and aggravation it causes the majority when they go a little to overboard. In my opinion its perfect when the governmentfocuses on significant issues that affectthe masses that helps everyone. In the past it would have been acceptable for stateand local government to direct a huge portion of its funds into dealing with hookworm, an infection that in places like Georgia affected a total of 51.7 percent of people. This was a disease that affected everyone no matter what social status or life choices you had, in that time period. It was effective that they completed public work projects and worked on providing everyone with sanitary conditions and hospitals. Personally I think it s the governments job to protect the people even if it is not an economically smart decision. When government is getting to personal and aggressive by forcing people to pay for Medicare or Medicaid in which if the person doesn t not get Medicare or Medicaid results in them getting a separate tax to being doing a little too much. I think that the government crosses the line some times in the amount of benefits that they are giving out to the
