Renting a small bakery in Melbourne, Victoria, he produced Australia s very first
batch of ready to eat breakfast cereal. Going door to door, Halsey and his team sold a
breakfast food known as Granola (made of oats, maize, wheat and rye) and another
known as Granose (Weet Bix s unsweetened advocate) as healthy alternatives to the
popular insubstantial and fatty foods of that time.
Not long after, Halsey transferred the business to a larger premises in Cooranbong,
New South Wales, installing bake house equipment into a large building that had
previously been used as a sawmill. However, he soon relocated again to New
Zealand in 1900 and began making batches of Granola, Caramel Cereals and whole
meal bread in their very first factory a small wooden shed in the suburb of Papanui in
Christchurch.
In the year 1902, the company opened its very first Sanitarium cafГ© Pitt Street,
Sydney. Sanitarium continued to open up vegetarian cafes and health food shops
throughout the 1900s in various capital cities throughout Australia and New
Zealand. The opening up of these cafes and shops received positive feedback from
many customers. In 1904, the cafГ© had served a large number of 8,000 customers
over a six month period, and in 1939 served up to 99, 723 customers in only 6

The Volga River
The Volga River is a riverine located in Europe, Russia in a federal subject of Russia,
Astrakhan Oblast. Its direct location is Longitude: 45°50′30″N Latitude:
47°58′17″E. Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod are important cities on the
bank of the Volga. The Volga River is the largest river in Europe in terms of length of
length, discharge, and watershed. It starts in the Valdai Hills of north western Russia
and flows approximately 3,685 km before creating this delta and pouring into the
Caspian Sea. The Volga Riveralso contains a wide variety of flora and fauna. The
river is split into 4 different sections: upper, middle, lower and the delta. The Volga
basin is divided into four major sections, including the Upper Volga, Middle Volga,
Lower Volga, and delta. The delta is within the Volga Delta Northern Caspian
Drainages ecoregion and had a length of about 160 km.
The Volga River is under investigation because dams upstream have altered the
natural flow regime of the river. Another reason is the mass amount of fishing and
lastly the river is under investigation because of the poor water quality.
The Volga River had its beginnings in the glacial Valdai Hills (225 meters above sea
level), which is located near Moscow in the northwest. During the 13th century, the
southern part of the Volga River, below Nizhny Novgorod, saw the invasion of
Mongols, whose influence is evident in cities like Astrakhan and Kazan. Along with
the establishment of cities, dams and reservoirs, the
Mental Hospital Institutionalization
In Harcourt s (2011) article on The Impact of Mental Hospitalization and
Imprisonment on Homicide in the United States, he states that the United States
institutionalized a great portion of the population in mental institutions from 1930
into the 1950s. During this time, there was stability among both the prisonand mental
hospital populations, but with this stability, there were also high rates of
institutionalization in mental hospitals. After the 1960s, markedly the 1970s, rates of
mental hospital institutionalization plummeted while prison populations rose. One
reason for this switch can be attributed to Congress s Community Mental Health
Centers Construction Act in 1963. This act led to a period in the United Statesthat

prisons are now having to find ways to provide at least minimum mental health
screening and treatment for their inmates. Several forms of treatment throughout the
years have consisted of psychotherapy, electroshock therapy, and psychoactive
drugs (Macionis, 2015). The use of psychoactive drugs has increased by prisons to
the point where a psychiatrist hired by a prison may prescribe and administer drugs
to an inmate. Some inmates may end up being prescribed to multiple drugs at a time.
In many other cases, especially in local jails, mentally ill inmates continue to go

How Computers Affect Teen Lives?
Suicide takes the lives of nearly 30,000 Americans every year. A person dies by
suicide about every 15 minutes in the U.S. An attempt is estimated to be made once
every 40 seconds. Many who attempt suicide never seek professional care, and it has
generally been found that those who post suicide notes online tend to not receive
help. Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter are known to cause a lot of
the suicides. Social media is made up of web sites and other online means of
communication that are used by large groups of people to share information and to
develop social and professional relationships. Social media are harmful to society

According to Dr. Harry Brandt, Facebook is making it easier to spend more time
and energy criticizing their own bodies and wishing they looked like someone else.
Facebook offers the perfect opportunity for teens to compare themselves to their
friends and acquaintances. Studies have shown that the more time young women
spend on Facebook, the more likely they are to develop an eating disorder.
(Walton). It is also more likely for a young woman to have a low self esteem if she
spends a lot of time with someone who has the perfect body or qualities that they
desire for themselves. Both young women and men have said that they compare
themselves to others when they are on Facebook viewing photos or status updates.
Opponents to my position would argue that social media, mainly Twitter, is
beneficial to communication. According to Bill Keller, Twitter is a brilliant device
a megaphone for promotion, a seine for information, a helpful organizing tool for
everything from dog lover meet ups to revolutions. He is suggesting that Twitter is
extremely useful in many aspects, such as self promotions. It is an excellent source
of all different varieties of information and can be used to organize events and bring
people together. Twitter s more fluid and anonymous setup, teens say, gives them
more freedom to avoid friends of friends. Teens find it easy to tweet their feelings
and their daily routines to their close circle of friends rather than their hundreds of

Lucy Honeychurch In A Room With A View
Lucy Honeychurch is an attention grabbing character in E.M. Forster s A Room
with a View, because she can also be an example of the conflict of conventionality
and reality of the century [where man and women were not equal at all] (Kennard
24). She is a young and immature girl who tries to fit in the world while she is
growing up and developing the abilities she has. She has not got her own thoughts
or view; she relies on people around her and tries to make the best decisions for
herself. When something serious comes which she cannot face, she just commits
some rebellious acts as a response to deal with problems. Nevertheless, this is not
working all the time; in this case, she tries to cure herself with music, which is kind
of shelter for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Except Mr. Beebe, no one wants Lucy to live her life how she wants. He always tried
to support her and to help out at hard times. Even when she did not play the
appropriate music, he tried to distract others and said If Miss Honeychurch ever
takes to live as she plays, it will be very exciting both for us and for her (Forster
30). This was because the music she plays is full of passion and always expresses
her inner self, what is out of place. She has to be used to and perfectly obeyed to
surrounding rules and expectations. But Lucy wants to break out from this
traditionalism : she takes Mr. Emerson s advice about finding the true herself and
true love. She becomes more independent and confident, starts to ignore her family
and social expectations: she runs away to Italy with George to marry him. She
finds it endearing that George should sometimes be wrong but, of course, never
tells him when he is. Lucy has not become a new person, certainly not her own
person. She has adopted George s values and this is symbolized by her marriage to
him, the right suitor (Kennard 26). This decision has two sides; it can be good and
bad at the same time. From Lucy s view, she chose the good side: she can live with
her love and she is free from all conventions. This ending may sound wonderful, but
it is not as full of happiness as it can be imagined, because there is a paradox. ...
Forster s convention is in conflict with his material; the right ending aesthetically the
wrong ending thematically (Kennard 26). According to Appendix at the end of the
book, it can be said that the ninety percent of this decision is good for Lucy and
George but the last tenth percent is bad and it is conscious why: the society s
reaction to this marriage is ruthless;

Elton John s Major Accomplishments
Elton John was born on the 25th of March 1947. His birth name was Reginald
Kenneth Dwight. He is a singer, composer, songwriter, record producer and pianist.
He mostly plays Pop, Glam Rock, Blues Jam and Soft rock (Majority of Pop). His
achievements are as follows:
He has won numerous awards, including: Grammy s, Best Instrumentals, Best male
Pop Vocal Awards and many more (Check Appendix for full list).
Elton John started playing piano at the age of 3, to which he performed at parties
and family gatherings. When he turned 7, he then took up proper piano lessons. He
was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at the age of 11. Elton and
his friends formed a band called the Bluesology during 1964. He had gigs with his
band and also solo gigs. Elton John and Bernie Taupin began a partnership and they

Other bands like ACDC and solo artists like Elton started playing in pubs, and slowly
went on the chain of the music world, getting recording deals with major companies
or getting partnership with other well known songwriters.
On another note, Elton John came out bisexual during 1976 with an interview by
the Rolling Stones, and in 2014 married a man in England to where same sex
marriage is legal. Elton being a gay activist and being a high profile artist, Elton
helped the push to allowed same marriage to be legal in England.
I have learnt that Pop/Pop Rock style of music is very simple. That it goes by a set
of rules from the Major scale that every chord played is in the key signature of the
chord, and that many songs could only have three or four chords that are used. This
applies to my personal development by reasoning that to find a song with a good
catchy tune, I can stick with major scales and play around with those notes. That even
the greats like Elton John became famous with sticking to major

The Pathology Of A Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patient Than
The...
It would be better to include the poorly differentiated cancer cells in the pathology
report of a newly diagnosed cancer patient than the well differentiated ones.
Differentiation of cells means their specialization in the work that they are
intended to do. For example, breast cells are different from liver cells. Hence, they
are differentiated to perform the functions of the breast, while liver cells are
specialized so as to accomplish tasks of the liver in the human body. Therefore,
well differentiated cells are those that are close to the normal cells of the body part
in which they appear. On the other hand, poorly differentiated cells are those that
are completely different, immature and do not perform tasks of the body part in
which they appear (Shibata, 2012). The poorly differentiated cells are more likely
to divide and replicate at a very high rate. The fact that they are disorganized
implies that they will also spread uncontrollably and to any part of the body that
they can grow to. The well differentiated cells spread at a much slower rate. Both
types of cells may be cancerous but the well differentiated ones represent cancer in
its early stages, and that is spreading slowly. The poorly differentiated ones point to
cancer that has the potential of spreading at a very high rate. As such, it is important
for the new doctor and patient to identify the poorly differentiated cancer cells that
have the potential of spreading fast. This early recognition of this type of
Research Paper On Cybercrime
Abstract:
The basic idea of cybercrime can be explained by just one line Cybercrimes are any
crimes that involve a computer and a network. It is not necessary that the computer
is used in order to commit a crime, sometimes it can be target as well. These include
crimes such as cyber stalking, Identity theft, cyber trespass, cyber deceptions etc. In
other words cybercrime can be defined as any illegal activity carried out using
computer and the network as its means of communication.
This paper presents information regarding cybercrimes and its types and how does
it impacts organization both on economic and social front in addition to some of the
existing solutions to prevent the users/ organization from cybercrimes and it also
suggests some new ideas that can be considered as a preventive measure from
cybercrime and it also include cyber crime against women in India. Primary motive
behind this research is that bring awareness amongst women in India. Make them
understand that how cybercrime can affect their life. What are the various ways of

A Brief Note On Wound Cleansing Protocol Is Important
For...
Effective wound care is important for patient safety and satisfaction, as well as
hospital re admittance cost, insurance cost, and reimbursement. Wound cleansing is
an important part of wound care. There is much debate as to what to cleanse wounds
with initially, but as a basic nursing guideline outlined in Mosby s Pocket Guide to
Basic Skills and Procedures (2007) woundcleansing protocol is to use normal saline.
Wound patients are often forced to revisit the places they were initially seen due to
complications or lack of wound healing.
Bearing in mind that wounds can be anything from a minor laceration, a disease
process complication, to severe trauma, not all wounds are created equal. However,
most of the time, the wound protocol is generic, grouping all of the mentioned
wounds together. Research has been done on effective education for the patient and
caregiver, what type of cleanser to use and when, who to consult and why, when to
follow up, where to conduct wound care, and the emphasis on standardization. Yet no
one has set forth guidelines to cover all types of wounded patients, regardless of
underlying conditions.
Continuity is preached at nurses providing care, yet no one can offer a set of rules
to follow when faced with a certain type of wound. For example, Patient A is a 16
year right below the knee amputee and a 14 year left above the knee amputee who
was treated in southwestern Illinois and southeastern Missouri. During his treatment
process, he

Significance Of The Ankh Symbolism
The mythical stories about the Ankh symbol
There are so many symbols in the world representing different morals and beliefs.
These symbols represent different communities cultural and religious beliefs. These
are for example the index and middle finger raised with the rest flinched representing
piece, in other parts probably something else, the cross in the Catholic churches
representing holiness amongst others. The symbol of Ankh is one of these symbols.
The purpose of this essay is to show how the Ankh symbol came into existence, its
effects on those who believed in it and proving that the Ankh was only but a mythical

The Ankh is an ancient symbol that originated in Egypt, it is also known as the key of
life or the cross of life. The symbol dates back to the dynasty times, (c. 3150 2613

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Group Therapy
Reichenberg, 2014). This text speaks to the fact that other groups could be based on
the idea of racism, oppression or discrimination (Earlet, 2000). This means that the
facilitator must be willing to bracket (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014) his own values
and be willing to understand the position of the group members.
Moreover, due to the nature of the therapy being in a form of a group, the facilitator is
required to develop, alongside the members, group norms and boundaries
(Schachter, n.d.). This is important as it will serve as a way of maintaining order
and respect within the group itself (Schachter, n.d.). Furthermore, the facilitator is
required to convey some level of care for the group as well as use this as an
opportunity to model ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, should a group facilitator follow the order above, it is also essential to
mention that the stages do not necessarily persist for a long time and at times,
facilitators cannot tell when they ve moved on the next stage. 8. THE ADVANTAGES
AND DISADVANTAGES OF GROUP THERAPY. 8.1. Advantages of Group
Therapy.
8.1.1. Diversity of Opinions.
Group therapy allows different individuals to come together and share their thoughts,
feelings and ideas (Occupy Theory, 2014). Through this interaction group members
are able to eliminate negative feelings and experience a sense of relief after sharing
their experiences and opinions (Occupy Theory, 2014).
8.1.2. Establishing Comaraderie and Social Support.
Another advantage of group therapy is that it is empowering and encourages
individuals to meet other people and establish comradeship (Occupy Theory, 2014).
In terms of social support, group therapy allows an individual to have a well
diversified and strong support structure from other group members (occupy Theory,
2014). Depending on the number of times in which the group meets each member
will have built a strong social support at the end of each session. 8.1.3. Group
Dollar Bill Meaning
How much does a dollar cost? In the image, the artist has drawn a frail man hanging
from a one dollar bill. The man in the artwork appears to be drawn in a similar
position to that of Jesus Christ as he hung from the cross. The colors in the image
are average colors for man and money, the man is Caucasian with brown hair and
the money is green. The thing that stands out is how dim the colors are in the
image they are not vibrant and full of life. The artist also made sure to depict the
man in the image as frail and malnourished; he is very noticeably thin as you can
see his ribs and has a very small frame. Based on the man in the image, you could
infer that the artist is trying to make an argument for world hunger and how money is

The artist could be trying to relay several messages throughout the image. To
Christians, the artist could be saying that today s society is making them lose their
faith. The man hanging from the dollar bill could be a representation of a Christian
and the money could be a symbol for currency of today corrupting their souls. The
man in the image looks tired and worn out it could be from the effects of the
destruction of his soul. On another front, the author could be trying to tell everyone
that money is becoming too important in today s modern world. The artist draws
the one dollar bill as this larger than man thing. The artist could be saying the
larger our value for money gets, the less we will value our fellow man. The dollar
in the image could have started off small and grown as the value man has of
money increased, and the man could have started off plump and weakened as the
value of fellow man went down. There could also be a mix between the two. The
artist could be trying to say is the money worth your soul going to hell. The man in
the image could be man being punished by God for letting his ideals of money get to
big and corrupt his soul. There are several ways that one could go about analyzing
what the message is because it is unclear what exactly the artist is trying to say. The
overall message of the image is very
the roman empire is the greatest civilization of all time

systems, which later develops into the Roman Empire. The strong leaders of the
Republic had conquered much land and people for Rome. The Roman Republic thus
ignites Roman civilization, which leads on to the second step the Roman Empire.

Because Augustus encouraged trade, many roads and highways were built for
convenient traveling. Trading made easier increased trade, which boosted Roman
economy even more.
The Greek Empire occurred before the Romans and when compared to the Roman
Empire, seems to be modest, not as great. The Greeks did not have as much
conquered lands, which lessens their power. What they did have conquered was
divided into parts amongst different rulers, who were constantly at war with each
other, lacking the peace that Pax Romana had. The conquered Greek lands did not
have a chance to civilize as one great empire as the Romans had.
The Byzantine Empire followed the Roman Empire, and it, also, seems meager in
comparison. It had evolved from the Roman Empire, and because it was in the late
stage that it was in, land had been lost, so in terms of size, the Roman Empire was
superior to the Byzantine. The empire wasn t strong, either. At the start, the first ruler,
Justinian, attempted to reconquer Roman lands, but in doing so, left his own land in
ruins, and his conquests were lost right after his death. The Empire faced many
enemies and was threatened constantly by them. Eventually, all land was lost except
for the Constantinople, the rich and powerful capital city, and the land surrounding it.
As can be seen, the Roman Empire was great for its time in more ways that one, with
its undefeatable strength and size . It was greater than the empires before it
Teen Drama Analysis
The Era of the Teen Drama (Part 1)
Picking a good television show to binge watch on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, or even
ordering a DVD boxed set (we re all guilty of it), everything. You know ten minutes in
if you re going to like it or not enough to fully make the commitment. Most binge
watching begins and ends with none other than the teen drama.
This concept of the teen drama is not a foreign one, and there is something about
teens with insane, over dramatic lives that has everyone hooked.
It all started in 1990, when the first show to ever be classified as a teen drama was
put into our hearts and television screens. That is Beverley Hills 90210. The show ran
from
1990 to 2000, and it followed a group of friends, living in Beverley Hills and making

Of course there was a maximum amount of drama. Between friends dating friends
(and breaking up), drugs, alcohol, jobs across the world, there was nothing that
couldn t keep its viewers hooked into the lives of these teens.
The next show that came about was basically set up to live onto the teen drama name
(or fame.) That show is none other than Dawson s Creek. Dawson s Creek is a show
that if you are a tv show/ teen drama junky, you have to have it under your belt.
It starts out as a classic coming of age, two best friends in high school, trying to
make the transition from best friends to lovers, without it being awkward.
However, there are major twists and turns, the girl next door who without intention
mixes up the love interests, and the other boy friend who is just trying to find
himself but actually finds love. Dawson s Creek has pretty much everything you
want in a teen drama. Even though it is a few years old by now, and can seem a
little dated, it is just like the ones from current time that we tv junkies love, (One
Tree Hill, and Gossip Girl, to name a few.) There are long drawn out love speeches
from your favorite characters, you trying to figure out
The Romantic Value Of Heroism In Sigurd The Volsung
In many myths, the hero is involved in a romantic relationship. However, the
relationship is usually very tumultuous and it does not end the way that either
party envisioned at the start. In the end, romance in heroic epics serves to
emphasize the cost of heroism and the fact that a hero is often not meant to receive
a happy ending. The beginning of Sigurd the Volsung might lead one to believe
that Sigurd is meant to live out the rest of his days with Brunhild by his side. He
rescues her from her castle imprisonment, thereby declaring himself her rightful
husband. They both declare their love for each other, and it seems that all is well.
However, from that point forward, their relationship takes a turn for the worst.
Sigurd is given a potion that causes him to forget about his feelings for Brunhild,
and he then goes on to marry another woman. When Brunhild learns of this, she is
understandably upset. However, she allows her anger to consume her. Deep down,
she appears to still love Sigurd, but she knows that he will never be hers. As a result
of her sorrow and disappointment, she decides to have her new husband, Gunnar,
orchestrate Sigurd s death. Her plan is indeed successful, and Sigurd dies. Shortly
thereafter, Brunhild chooses to commit suicide, but not before conveying her wish to
have her body burned alongside Sigurd. After all she has done, Brunhild shows that
she still has love for Sigurd, spending her final moments alive to make note of the
fact that she and
Desire For Power In Macbeth
The amount of power one has dictates where they are on the social scale. The
effects of higher power has the capability of making people mentally disordered.
William Shakespeare conveys the idea that the desire for power can make an
individual incapable of having the right mindset. In the play Macbeth, written by
William Shakespeare, we see the main character, Macbeth, become the tragic hero of
the story as he deals with issues such as the dark world, prophecies and the kingships.
Those topics all range under the theme of power corrupting one s persona. Macbeth
did not want the development of power, he wanted to take authority fast and with no
questions asked. The character of Macbeth is made into a ruthless tyrant by none
other than those he surrounds himself with, his pride and confidence overtakes his
mind and sends him into absolute madness.
It is evident from the very first scene in the play that Macbeth is a true warrior.
Macbeth gets corrupted by his avarice for power. After king Duncan s death,
Macbeth immediately jumped at the opportunity of being king. As soon as he was
crowned, he became a power hungry, evil dictator. Murder is no shock to Macbeth,
he has taken part in more battles than the average soldier ever did. The desire for
power makes individuals do the unthinkable. At the start of the play, Macbeth with
labeled as a noble, brave and loyal man by King Duncan. Macbeth still has his
morals as he kills Duncan but as the play progresses, they begin to fade.
Experiment Synthesis Essay
The project s hypothesis is: if the type of biomass is vegetable peels then the
amount of biogas produced will increase. This project tests the amount of biogas
produced when cow manure is combined with different types of biomass (in this
case, mashed bananas and vegetable peelings). It is an interesting project because
studying how biogas is produced, it is possible to see how this chemical reaction
happens. Biogas can be used for cooking, heating, and after going through a
transformation process it could be even used as fuel. If studied more, biogas could
have more functions. When choosing this experiment the hopes were to find out
what types of things easily found can increase the production of biogas, and how
could it be produced. Cows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And when the bananas were mixed with the cow manure (that also produces gas
by itself), the amount of gas produced was a lot bigger than the other options. The
predicted results were for the vegetable peelings + cow manure balloon would turn
out to be bigger at the end of the experiment , but the bananas combined with the
manure produced more gas than the expected. If repeated, the changes made
would be the place where the experiment happened and the type of bottles used.
The bottles used had drawings all over its surface, which made it hard to look at
what was going on, and placed (at the porch) where it had the risk of being dropped
because of the wind/any other natural causes or even because of people that could
walk by and drop it if not paying attention. The data does not support the hypothesis,
since the products that produced more biogas were not the vegetable peelings and
the cow manure. The average difference between the vegetable peelings
(approximately 0.6 cm) and the mashed bananas (approximately 2.5 cm) were 1.9 cm
Marriott Case Study
History of Marriott
Marriott was founded in 1927 by the married couple of J. Willard and Alice Marriott.
Their company started off as A W root beer stand in Washington D.C. While in the
restaurant franchise business, they introduced two major ideas with the Eastern Coast
s first drive in capable restaurant and airline catering for passengers to consume
boxed lunches mid flight. Later in 1953, Hot Shoppes, Incorporated transitions to
public by selling out in two hours of trading at $10.25 per share. Five years later,
Marriot makes a quintessential move into the hotel business by opening the earliest
motor hotel in Arlington, Virginia. Over the next quarter century, the brand opens its
first international hotel, becomes the first hotel company to enter the cruise business,
and announces the first Courtyard hotel for high level business travelers to lodge
with. Marriot offers multiple brands in the late 1900s that span over Europe and
Africa, along with other countries and continents. Finally, Marriott becomes the #1
hospitality company in the world with more than 5,700 properties across the world.
Evaluation of Marriott
Marriott is undoubtedly a thriving business in the top tier of the hospitality
industry. Any person does not have to look any further than their stock price of
over 100 dollars per share or their market cap worth around 39.79 billion dollars. In

success, and I can attest to this fact
Banana Bowl Vs Melting Pot
Soup or Salad?
Does America have a personality? There are many factors that can affect someone s
personality, but America s personality is categorized by the conflicting attitudes of
nationalism and individualism. These attitudes affected America s view towards
issues of immigration. Depending on which American personality is being used
determines whether or not America is been recognized as a Salad Bowl or a Melting
Pot as a country. When America is being described as Nationalistic, then the
country is a Melting Pot due to the focus on the assimilation of immigrants.
Conversely, when America is being described as Individualistic, the nation is a
Salad Bowl because of the focus of cultural retention. The debate of whether or not
America s personality is best represented by a Melting Pot or a Salad Bowl began
after the turn of the century; this debate is clearly depicted in the beliefs and
works of Diego Rivera and George Bellows. Firstly, Diego Rivera s Detroit
Industry is a quintessential and accurate representation of America s Melting Pot
personality. Painted in 1933, this magnificent masterpiece takes up twenty seven
panels and can be found at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Additionally, this Mexican
artist s work can be seen as frescoes, which he describes as, paintings done rapidly in
watercolour on wet plaster on a wall or ceiling, so that the colours penetrate the
plaster and become fixed as it dries (Rivera Court 1). His artwork depicts laborers
Who Is Paul Revere A Hero
Paul Revere wasn t the only hero. In fact there were many other people that helped
Paul Revere. Many people have changed facts around and made it look like he is the
only hero. This brings up the issue about authors changing what people have done to
their own stories. They shouldn t change what people did because they should present
them as they were, they shouldn t change their accomplishments, and they should
have respect for their families. Authors should remain historically accurate when they
write about a real person as a herobecause they should present them as they were.
Authors shouldn t be able to change what people were because they could make
them look bad or make things up that didn t even happen. They could change the way

Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Marijuana
Over the past few years legalizing medical and recreational marijuana has been a hot
political topic. Medical marijuana is legal in twenty states, and use of recreational
marijuana is legal in four states: Washington, Colorado, Oregon, and Alaska. It is also
legal to carry small amount of marijuana in Washington D.C. In this paper I will
discuss the history of marijuana in the United Statesof America and the ethical pros
and cons that are related to use of this plant for medical and recreational purposes.
Usage of marijuana both medically and recreationally in the United States dates back
to the nineteenth century. An article published by Ohio State University describes an
advertisement in Vanity Fair to illustrate the nations attitude towards marijuana in the
1800 s it reads The hashish candy advertised in an 1862 issue of Vanity Fair as a

Even though marijuana usage was legal it was becoming increasingly hated

the use of marijuana was banned in 29 states. During the 1930 s a lot of anti
marijuana propaganda was produced and political figures started to speak out
against marijuana. The film Reefer Madness is perhaps one of the most popular
pieces of propaganda from the time; this film depicts people smoking marijuana
then losing all control of themselves which leads to the death of one of the party
goers in the film. This propaganda combined with the lobbying of politicians like
Henry J. Anslinger, who headed the U.S. Treasury Department s Narcotics Bureau
from 1930 to 1962, lead to the passing of the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act, this act was
some of the first regulation placed on marijuana. By the early 1950 s federal law
prohibited using marijuana and anyone caught in possession of marijuana faced a

Maternity Leave Case Study
Many of these different employment laws interested me, however, the Family and
Medical Leave Act caught my eye. This is because I have a family member who
just recently birthed a child. She received the required amount of 12 weeks of
maternity leave, as well as being granted an extra 6 weeks additionally. So this kind
of law made sense for me. Now just a little background on this employment law, it
was enacted in 1993 by President Bill Clinton. The Family and Medical LeaveAct of
1993 allows employees who have worked for a company for 1 year or more to apply
for a period of unpaid leave with no fear of losing their job. The law can be beneficial

The court case document, that notes Gilliam, in full as Reginald Gilliam, assumed
that the Family and Medical Leave Act licensed him to be able to up to 120 days
off of work without obtaining any penalty. Mr. Gilliam also believed that he did
not have to advise his current employer of his schedule of return to work. There
was apparently a miscommunication of words between Mr. Gilliam and Mr.
Gilliam s supervisor about the amount of time that Mr. Gilliam would be out of the
workplace for. This therefore created confusion and disagreements, leading to a
U.S. Circuit Courts decision. All in all, the court confirmed the official accord of
Judge Robert L. Miller. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana
and Judge Miller had their rulings upheld, stating that Mr. Gilliam has the full
responsibility to inform the company at least 30 days prior to beginning the
requested leave period. Mr. Gilliam failed to fulfill his legal obligations under the
Family and Medical Leave Act and therefore will now reap the repercussions of his
failure to abide by the

INTRODUCTION:
Bacteria are the smallest living organisms, they are prokaryotic and have a simple
cell structure. They do not contain a nucleus, and are unicellular. Bacteria are the
most abundant microorganism. They are among the earliest forms of life that
appeared on earth billions of years ago. They can grow in different temperatures and
many exist naturally in our human flora, such as staphylococci. Growth within
different temperatures can range from 0 degrees Celsius such as psychrotrophs, to
hyperthermophiles who grown best above 70 degrees Celsius (Ritchey, Exercise 16).
Bacteria have many shapes, size, and multicell arrangements. The main bacteria
shapes are cocci (spherical or ovoid shaped), bacilli (straight rods), coccobacillus
(short rods), fusiform bacillus (rod shaped bacilli with tapered ends), vibrio (curved
rods), spirillum (single spiral bacteria), and spirochete (if it is flexible and
undulating). Bacteria can form multicell arrangements, such as diplococcus (two cell
arrangements) (. Bacteria are usually named for their shape or multicell arrangement,
but cannot be truly identified by just those characteristics (Strelkauskas, Edwards,
Fanhert, Pryor, 2016). Bacteria can be classified by the way they stain. They are
clear under a microscope and require staining to be seen. To stain a bacteria, one
takes a dye to color the cells. There are basic dyes that contain

made the company susceptible to many threats in the industry s competitive

My Hawaii Vacation
It was the Summer of 2016 and My family and I were deciding where to go for
vacation. I had suggested we go to Hawaii. At first they said no because of how
expensive it was. But after a lot of convincing they finally agreed. I was very happy
and couldn t wait to go and think about how fun it was going to be. Time wasn t
passing by as fast as I wanted it to go. It was the day before the trip and we had to
start packing. Our plane was at 4 a.m. and my dad made us leave 3 hours earlier
because the airport was an hour away. We had to wait about an hour at the airport
and it was very boring. After lots of waiting, we were allowed to get on the plane.
Sadly we did not have first class seats so we had to go to the normal seat section.
We put our luggage and sat down in our seats. The plane took off after 30 minutes of
us being on the plane.
After 7 hours of being on the plane we got to our next stop. From there Hawaii was
about
3 hours away from the plane. We didn t have to wait much at the next airport and we
had gotten on our plane and were almost to Hawaii. When we landed in Hawaii there
was a driver waiting for us to take us to the hotel. The hotel was really big and looked
nice from the inside. Our room was also good. From the room balcony we could see
the ocean, It was a beautiful view. Let s go get some food . Said, my dad We should
go to the pizza place right by our hotel . I said Sure, let s go , said, my mom
The restaurant had more things than just pizza.

The Negative Connotation To The Social Security...
Being a high school student myself I do not have the fullest understanding of taxes or
many government administrations at all but what I can say is I have a negative
connotation to the Social Security Administration through my small amount of
exposure to it through the media. When I researched it I was surprised by what I
found. Despite my preset dispositions, the Social SecurityAdministration seemed
actually very helpful and I did not see where any hate could come from. Perhaps
more interestingly I had read that it has been largely unchanged since it was first
introduced in the 1930 s. The Social Security Act which created the Social Security
Administration has positively affected our country.
The Social Security Administration is a great government administration that
provides retirement and disability benefits to a large portion of the U.S. population.
It was created by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR). He created many new
administration during the great depression to combat poverty such as the Works
Progress Administration. Unlike the Works Progress Administration, on the Social
Security Administration fights poverty through planning for the future rather than
the now. The Administration themselves views themselves high as well, on their
website they stated that the Social Security Administration is one of the most
successful anti poverty programs in our nation s history . The SSA could not have
come at a better time than when it did during the great depression. It was crucial to
the nation s future as to whether it would fall back down to its knees right as it got
back up. The SSA protected us with retirement benefits which allow and help us
plan for our retirement safely ensuring that we will have money when we can no
longer work. This need for a retirement plan is exemplified by FDR s speech to the
N.Y. state legislature where he states No greater tragedy exists in modern
civilization than the aged, worn out worker who after a life of ceaseless effort and
useful productivity must look forward to his declining years to a poorhouse. This is
arguably the most useful part of the SSA.

The second most useful part of the SSA would be the Disability Benefits given out
by the SSA.

BANK LOANS statistics project on bank loans
1. Introduction
This study has been conducted in order to obtain some extra information regarding
credit retrieval from banks. We have collected data from 120 people which have
contracted bank loans, by asking them to answer our questionnaire. The questionnaire
consists of 15 interconnected questions we consider relevant and might help interpret
the results better.
In a loan, the borrower initially receives an amount of money, called the principal,
from the lender, and is obligated to pay back or repay an equal amount of money to
the lender at a later time. The loan is generally provided at a cost, referred to as
interest on the debt, which provides an incentive for the lender to engage ... Show

2.4. Children
Children seem to play a major role in the decision of getting a bank loan of a
person or couple. Out of the selected persons, only 27 did not have any children and
most of them were in our youngest age group, fact that is understanble considering
the implications that raising a child has. Most people had one or two children, but
there were two cases in which the person had more than three children.

2.5. Education level
As expected, the education level had a major impact on the number of loans
accesed. The wining category was the bachelor degree one, as people from this
group have a higher level of education and are prone to have better jobs, thus having
more chances in receiving a loan from a bank. Furthermore, they are the ones that
require more money for investments, which usually comes from banks. The sutyd
revealed that 67 people with a bachelor degree had a loan, thus more than 50% of the
total interviewed subjects.
On the other hand, there were 23 people who had finished high school and responded
positive, showing that loans for personal needs attract customers.

Connotations of marriage and social mores in Alexander s Pope poem
The Rape of the Lock
In the early eighteenth century England witnessed the peak of the tumultuous
changes that is presently known as the Age of Enlightenment. Trapped deep within
the chaotic changes of politics, religion, art and social mores, Alexander Pope
proved a master at exploiting these changes circumstances in order to become an
admired poet. (page 558, Wilson)
Visible affected by the superficiality of the humankind, Alexander Pope made fun of
the real life situations, and commented on the vanity and trivialness of high society
during his time. According to Butt John, Pope suggests that society has no concept of

Although Pope wrote The Rape of the Lock with the aim to reconcile the two
families, he does not hesitate to stress the idea that people should not focus on trivial
things and they rather should contemplate to the important matters. To convey its
message Pope intentionally used the heroic epic ton which itself takes a trivial
incident too seriously, and uses disproportionately impressive language to describe a
pathetic subject.
But since, alas! frail beauty must decay,
Curled or uncurled, since locks will turn to grey,
Since painted or unpainted, all shall fade,
And she who scorns a man must die a maid;
What then remains, but well our pow r to use,
And keep good humor still whate er we lose?
And trust me, dear! good humor can prevail,
When airs, and flights, and screams, and scolding fail. (V. 25 32, Pope)
The poem reveals the superficiality and immorality of mankind making judgements in
favor of appearances rather that morality. Belinda s idea of honour is seen to mean
little more than reputation . The sexual truth is finally admitted when Belinda wishes
the Baron had been content to seize/ Hairs less in sight, or any hairs but these

of a powerful taboo.

Economics is a tool that we use in our daily lives even if we don t always realize it.
As people we all have things that we want, and things that we need. This includes
things like food, clothing, and shelter, but it is not limited to those things. In order
to get those things, people have to spend money. The issue is that everything that
people need and want costs money. More often than not, people do not have the
money to do both so they have to decide which things are important for them to have
right now. This does not only apply to families, but businesses as well. This paper
will address different types of economics and some of the factors that contribute to its
changes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Businesses will increase the production of goods and services that cost more
money because they will be able to increase their profit margins. In the same way,
when prices decrease they will scale back the production of those products because
they will not be able to as much of a profit. Companies will always do what is best
for them, and the number one reason for them being in business is to make money.
What the consumer wants will always dictate they type and price of goods and
services that are supplied. When a certain type of product comes out or starts to
increase in sales it directly affects the market for that product or service. An
example of this is when iPods came out and got very popular. The price of the
product was high initially, but they were still selling very well. Apple increased its
production because they were able to make greats profits from it. After this
happened there was an influx of other mp3 players from a plethora of other
electronics companies. Since they had new found competition, Apple was forced to
lower the price of the item. Consumers still preferred the iPod over many of the
other mp3 players on the market, and because of their presence, the iPod became
much more affordable. In economics the law of demand states that all else equal, as
the price of a product increases, a lower

Elisha Gray were two inventors who helped spread the idea that the human voice
could be transferred from one place to another. Because of their help, we are so
advanced in today s society. This was one step of bringing this country together as a

This was a distance of 5 miles. The other people at the end heard faint noises, but
could not hear what Bell was saying. In the next test, Bell shortened the distance to
4 miles. The people concluded that they could hear a distinct and audible voice.
This event proved that Bell s telephone would work for any distance. Bell s
colleagues offered to sell the patent for $100,000. The Western Union said it was
nothing more than a toy and they would not pay that much. Later, his partners said
to Bell that he could sell his patent for about $25 million. Bell thought it was too
late and decided not to sell it and to keep his company. Bell began to show the
world his revolutionary design. One of the more famous demonstrations was from
New York to Chicago in 1892. Queen Victoria showed excitement and said, Most
extraordinary! The positive advice Bell had received made him proud of his
prototype design. Elisha Gray had similar prototypes with his liquid transmitter idea.
In another prototype, Bell looked at Thomas Edison s past patents. He found one
called the Carbon Microphone. This telephone worked better in long range and you
didn t have to shout at the receiving end. This improved Bell s
The Roman Catholic Church in Medieval Times Essay
In the Medieval times, the Roman Catholic Church played a great role in the
development of England and had much more power than the Church of today does.
In Medieval England, the Roman Catholic Church dominated everyday life and
controlled everyone whether it is knights, peasants or kings. The Church was one of
the most influential institutions in all of Medieval England and played a large role
in education and religion. The Church s power was so great that they could order and
control knights and sends them to battle whenever they wished to. The Church also
had the power to influence the decision of Kings and could stop or pass laws which
benefited them in the long run, adding to this, the Church had most of the wealth in

As the tenth century rolled about, the power of the Roman Catholic Church grew
steadily stronger, the church had an argument with the normal Kingdom over who
should rule supreme out of the Pope or the King, the church believed that the Pope
who is the voice of God on Earth should be the ruler of the world while the peasants
thought that the King should, the power struggle eventually ended with the Church
coming out as the dominant force in the West. The Church passed a law that stated
that everyone (mostly peasants) is forced to pay 10% of their income to the Church.
The church had the ability to stop any laws that they did not like or make some new
laws that benefited them, they were a very powerful group that could manipulate the
peasants and knights in any way they liked, in Church there were photos of people
being tortured in hell, this intensified the peoples longing for heaven and therefore
extended the power and influence of the church. All Christians were expected to
attend the mass and, by the 13th century, were expected to take the Eucharist at least
once a year.
The Medieval monastery was established during the middle Ages, this was a place
where people got together (mostly monks, nuns and other spiritual beings) and they
spent their time praying, studying and most of all helping
Essay on Satire of Mike Tyson s Biting the Ear of Evander...
SATIRE
When we think of boxing, we usually think of the gloves, the mouthpiece, the ring.
When we think of past boxers, we can think of boxers like Muhammad Ali or
George Foreman. There are present boxers like Bite Tyson and his colleague
Evander Holyears . Boxing has been considered by many as a brutal sport, a sport
for beasts, as many non boxing fans would say. Mike Tyson has given credit to all
this talk by boxing with his mouth and not with his hands. With Mike Tyson s
cannibalism and his boxing license being in jeopardy, his next opponent can be an
alligator or a paranГЎ fish. Mike Tyson s style of boxing can well be described as
cannibalistic. Many would say that in his previous life he was a cannibal. This hidden

Tyson is a cannibal or not, but future opponents are sure to keep closer to his hands
than his face. Mike Tyson was about to have his boxing license taken away. My teeth
were the ones at fault, he was heard saying. The judge was going to have to decide
if his boxing license was taken away or his teeth. His lawyers had said that the
reason for all this was because of his taste for victory, and that he felt the knockout
punch coming, but that his mouth is always getting him into trouble. The judges
could not have placed him in prison because he would bite his way out and escape.
He kept his boxing license and was fined just a few thousand dollars. With such
boxing moves, Mike Tyson can possibly face any kind of opponent. His opponents
can be alligators or even paranГЎ fishes. With those sharp teeth of his, such creatures
will not stand a chance against him. If his boxing career ends at some point, he will
not need to worry; a zoo or a circus will be glad to hire him. His human opponents
will be afraid to step into the ring with Mike. Those who are brave enough, will
surely wear some kind of ear guards or even nose guards. Boxing has always been a

Use Of Macroeconomics In The Australian Economy
Part A
Part B
The fiscal, macroeconomic and monetary policies have been used to stabilize the
Australian economy. A fiscal policy is when the government budget is used to
manage economic activity. This means government spending and government
taxation levels are altered to support long term economic growth. A monetary policy
refers to the Reserve Bank of Australia s (RBA) use of interest rates (cash rate) to
influence the level of economic activity. Most importantly, the RBA sets interest rates
to increase economic activity or decrease economic activity based on a few economic
indicators. The macroeconomics is concerned with the performance of the economy.

This is achieved by increasing the money supply available in the economy and
attempting to promote aggregate demand growth which is the sum of private
consumption, investment, government spending and imports. Monetary policy
focuses on the first two elements, private consumption and investment. By increasing
the amount of money in the economy, the central bank encourages private
consumption. Increasing money supply available in the economy, also decrease the
interest rate which in turn, encourages lending and investment which leads to high
aggregate demand growth. It is important for policymakers to make credible
announcements. If consumers and firms believe that policymakers are committed to
growing the economy, they will anticipate future prices to be higher than they would
be otherwise. The consumers and firms will then adjust their long term plans
accordingly, such as by taking out loans to invest in their business. But if the they
believe that the central bank s actions are short term, they will not alter their actions
and the effect of the expansionary policy will be minimized.
Fiscal policy has a stabilizing effect on an economy if the budget balance the
difference between expenditure and revenue increases when output rises and

The Volga basin is divided into four major sections, including the Upper Volga, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and delta. The delta is within the Volga Delta Northern Caspian Drainages ecoregion and had a length of about 160 km. The Volga River is under investigation because dams upstream have altered the natural flow regime of the river. Another reason is the mass amount of fishing and lastly the river is under investigation because of the poor water quality. The Volga River had its beginnings in the glacial Valdai Hills (225 meters above sea level), which is located near Moscow in the northwest. Mental Hospital Institutionalization In Harcourt s (2011) article on The Impact of Mental Hospitalization and Imprisonment on Homicide in the United States, he states that the United States institutionalized a great portion of the population in mental institutions from 1930 into the 1950s. During this time, there was stability among both the prisonand mental hospital populations, but with this stability, there were also high rates of institutionalization in mental hospitals. After the 1960s, markedly the 1970s, rates of mental hospital institutionalization plummeted while prison populations rose. One reason for this switch can be attributed to Congress s Community Mental Health Centers Construction Act in 1963. This act led to a period in the United Statesthat promoted deinstitutionalization.... According to Dr. Harry Brandt, Facebook is making it easier to spend more time and energy criticizing their own bodies and wishing they looked like someone else. Facebook offers the perfect opportunity for teens to compare themselves to their friends and acquaintances. Studies have shown that the more time young women spend on Facebook, the more likely they are to develop an eating disorder. (Walton). It is also more likely for a young woman to have a low self esteem if she spends a lot of time with someone who has the perfect body or qualities that they desire for themselves. Both young women and men have said that they compare themselves to others when they are on Facebook viewing photos or status updates. Opponents to my position would argue that social media, mainly Twitter, is beneficial to communication. According to Bill Keller, Twitter is a brilliant device a megaphone for promotion, a seine for information, a helpful organizing tool for everything from dog lover meet ups to revolutions. He is suggesting that Twitter is extremely useful in many aspects, such as self promotions. It is an excellent source of all different varieties of information and can be used to organize events and bring people together. Twitter s more fluid and anonymous setup, teens say, gives them more freedom to avoid friends of friends. Teens find it easy to tweet their feelings and their daily routines to their close circle of friends rather than their hundreds of friends and
  • 6. Lucy Honeychurch In A Room With A View Lucy Honeychurch is an attention grabbing character in E.M. Forster s A Room with a View, because she can also be an example of the conflict of conventionality and reality of the century [where man and women were not equal at all] (Kennard 24). She is a young and immature girl who tries to fit in the world while she is growing up and developing the abilities she has. She has not got her own thoughts or view; she relies on people around her and tries to make the best decisions for herself. When something serious comes which she cannot face, she just commits some rebellious acts as a response to deal with problems. Nevertheless, this is not working all the time; in this case, she tries to cure herself with music, which is kind of shelter for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Except Mr. Beebe, no one wants Lucy to live her life how she wants. He always tried to support her and to help out at hard times. Even when she did not play the appropriate music, he tried to distract others and said If Miss Honeychurch ever takes to live as she plays, it will be very exciting both for us and for her (Forster 30). This was because the music she plays is full of passion and always expresses her inner self, what is out of place. She has to be used to and perfectly obeyed to surrounding rules and expectations. But Lucy wants to break out from this traditionalism : she takes Mr. Emerson s advice about finding the true herself and true love. She becomes more independent and confident, starts to ignore her family and social expectations: she runs away to Italy with George to marry him. She finds it endearing that George should sometimes be wrong but, of course, never tells him when he is. Lucy has not become a new person, certainly not her own person. She has adopted George s values and this is symbolized by her marriage to him, the right suitor (Kennard 26). This decision has two sides; it can be good and bad at the same time. From Lucy s view, she chose the good side: she can live with her love and she is free from all conventions. This ending may sound wonderful, but it is not as full of happiness as it can be imagined, because there is a paradox. ... Forster s convention is in conflict with his material; the right ending aesthetically the wrong ending thematically (Kennard 26). According to Appendix at the end of the book, it can be said that the ninety percent of this decision is good for Lucy and George but the last tenth percent is bad and it is conscious why: the society s reaction to this marriage is ruthless;

  • 13. The Pathology Of A Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patient Than The... It would be better to include the poorly differentiated cancer cells in the pathology report of a newly diagnosed cancer patient than the well differentiated ones. Differentiation of cells means their specialization in the work that they are intended to do. For example, breast cells are different from liver cells. Hence, they are differentiated to perform the functions of the breast, while liver cells are specialized so as to accomplish tasks of the liver in the human body. Therefore, well differentiated cells are those that are close to the normal cells of the body part in which they appear. On the other hand, poorly differentiated cells are those that are completely different, immature and do not perform tasks of the body part in which they appear (Shibata, 2012). The poorly differentiated cells are more likely to divide and replicate at a very high rate. The fact that they are disorganized implies that they will also spread uncontrollably and to any part of the body that they can grow to. The well differentiated cells spread at a much slower rate. Both types of cells may be cancerous but the well differentiated ones represent cancer in its early stages, and that is spreading slowly. The poorly differentiated ones point to cancer that has the potential of spreading at a very high rate. As such, it is important for the new doctor and patient to identify the poorly differentiated cancer cells that have the potential of spreading fast. This early recognition of this type of

  • 15. A Brief Note On Wound Cleansing Protocol Is Important For... Effective wound care is important for patient safety and satisfaction, as well as hospital re admittance cost, insurance cost, and reimbursement. Wound cleansing is an important part of wound care. There is much debate as to what to cleanse wounds with initially, but as a basic nursing guideline outlined in Mosby s Pocket Guide to Basic Skills and Procedures (2007) woundcleansing protocol is to use normal saline. Wound patients are often forced to revisit the places they were initially seen due to complications or lack of wound healing. Bearing in mind that wounds can be anything from a minor laceration, a disease process complication, to severe trauma, not all wounds are created equal. However, most of the time, the wound protocol is generic, grouping all of the mentioned wounds together. Research has been done on effective education for the patient and caregiver, what type of cleanser to use and when, who to consult and why, when to follow up, where to conduct wound care, and the emphasis on standardization. Yet no one has set forth guidelines to cover all types of wounded patients, regardless of underlying conditions. Continuity is preached at nurses providing care, yet no one can offer a set of rules to follow when faced with a certain type of wound. For example, Patient A is a 16 year right below the knee amputee and a 14 year left above the knee amputee who was treated in southwestern Illinois and southeastern Missouri. After graduating from high school, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do with my future, yet felt the need to complete a college degree. This text speaks to the fact that other groups could be based on the idea of racism, oppression or discrimination (Earlet, 2000). This means that the facilitator must be willing to bracket (Seligman Reichenberg, 2014) his own values and be willing to understand the position of the group members. Moreover, due to the nature of the therapy being in a form of a group, the facilitator is required to develop, alongside the members, group norms and boundaries (Schachter, n.d.). The man in the artwork appears to be drawn in a similar position to that of Jesus Christ as he hung from the cross. The colors in the image are average colors for man and money, the man is Caucasian with brown hair and the money is green. The thing that stands out is how dim the colors are in the image they are not vibrant and full of life. The artist also made sure to depict the man in the image as frail and malnourished; he is very noticeably thin as you can see his ribs and has a very small frame. • 21. the roman empire is the greatest civilization of all time The Roman Empire was the period of time after the Roman Republic and before the Byzantine Empire from 29 B.C. to A.D. 476. It was the highest point of Roman civilization, greater than any prior empires and towers over even the empires after it; it triumphed over the world . The Roman Republic was what built up the foundation for the Roman Empire. During the Republic, a small group of people started from scratch and developed their own systems, which later develops into the Roman Empire. The strong leaders of the Republic had conquered much land and people for Rome. The Roman Republic thus ignites Roman civilization, which leads on to the second step the Roman Empire. Because Augustus encouraged trade, many roads and highways were built for convenient traveling. Trading made easier increased trade, which boosted Roman economy even more. The Greek Empire occurred before the Romans and when compared to the Roman Empire, seems to be modest, not as great. The Greeks did not have as much conquered lands, which lessens their power. What they did have conquered was divided into parts amongst different rulers, who were constantly at war with each other, lacking the peace that Pax Romana had. The conquered Greek lands did not have a chance to civilize as one great empire as the Romans had. The Byzantine Empire followed the Roman Empire, and it, also, seems meager in comparison. It had evolved from the Roman Empire, and because it was in the late stage that it was in, land had been lost, so in terms of size, the Roman Empire was superior to the Byzantine. The empire wasn t strong, either. At the start, the first ruler, Justinian, attempted to reconquer Roman lands, but in doing so, left his own land in ruins, and his conquests were lost right after his death. The Empire faced many enemies and was threatened constantly by them. Eventually, all land was lost except for the Constantinople, the rich and powerful capital city, and the land surrounding it. As can be seen, the Roman Empire was great for its time in more ways that one, with its undefeatable strength and size . It was greater than the empires before it

William Shakespeare conveys the idea that the desire for power can make an individual incapable of having the right mindset. In the play Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, we see the main character, Macbeth, become the tragic hero of the story as he deals with issues such as the dark world, prophecies and the kingships. Those topics all range under the theme of power corrupting one s persona. Macbeth did not want the development of power, he wanted to take authority fast and with no questions asked. The character of Macbeth is made into a ruthless tyrant by none other than those he surrounds himself with, his pride and confidence overtakes his mind and sends him into absolute madness. It is evident from the very first scene in the play that Macbeth is a true warrior. Macbeth gets corrupted by his avarice for power. After king Duncan s death, Macbeth immediately jumped at the opportunity of being king. As soon as he was crowned, he became a power hungry, evil dictator. Murder is no shock to Macbeth, he has taken part in more battles than the average soldier ever did. The desire for power makes individuals do the unthinkable. At the start of the play, Macbeth with labeled as a noble, brave and loyal man by King Duncan. Macbeth still has his morals as he kills Duncan but as the play progresses, they begin to fade.

Biogas can be used for cooking, heating, and after going through a transformation process it could be even used as fuel. If studied more, biogas could have more functions. • 27. Banana Bowl Vs Melting Pot Soup or Salad? Does America have a personality? There are many factors that can affect someone s personality, but America s personality is categorized by the conflicting attitudes of nationalism and individualism. These attitudes affected America s view towards issues of immigration. Depending on which American personality is being used determines whether or not America is been recognized as a Salad Bowl or a Melting Pot as a country. When America is being described as Nationalistic, then the country is a Melting Pot due to the focus on the assimilation of immigrants. Conversely, when America is being described as Individualistic, the nation is a Salad Bowl because of the focus of cultural retention. The debate of whether or not America s personality is best represented by a Melting Pot or a Salad Bowl began after the turn of the century; this debate is clearly depicted in the beliefs and works of Diego Rivera and George Bellows. Firstly, Diego Rivera s Detroit Industry is a quintessential and accurate representation of America s Melting Pot personality. Painted in 1933, this magnificent masterpiece takes up twenty seven panels and can be found at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Being a high school student myself I do not have the fullest understanding of taxes or many government administrations at all but what I can say is I have a negative connotation to the Social Security Administration through my small amount of exposure to it through the media. When I researched it I was surprised by what I found. Despite my preset dispositions, the Social SecurityAdministration seemed actually very helpful and I did not see where any hate could come from. Perhaps more interestingly I had read that it has been largely unchanged since it was first introduced in the 1930 s. The Social Security Act which created the Social Security Administration has positively affected our country. The Social Security Administration is a great government administration that provides retirement and disability benefits to a large portion of the U.S. population. It was created by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR). He created many new administration during the great depression to combat poverty such as the Works Progress Administration. Unlike the Works Progress Administration, on the Social Security Administration fights poverty through planning for the future rather than the now. The Administration themselves views themselves high as well, on their website they stated that the Social Security Administration is one of the most successful anti poverty programs in our nation s history . The SSA could not have come at a better time than when it did during the great depression. It was crucial to the nation s future as to whether it would fall back down to its knees right as it got back up. The SSA protected us with retirement benefits which allow and help us plan for our retirement safely ensuring that we will have money when we can no longer work. This need for a retirement plan is exemplified by FDR s speech to the N.Y. state legislature where he states No greater tragedy exists in modern civilization than the aged, worn out worker who after a life of ceaseless effort and useful productivity must look forward to his declining years to a poorhouse. This is arguably the most useful part of the SSA. Image result for FDR The second most useful part of the SSA would be the Disability Benefits given out by the SSA.

Connotations of marriage and social mores in Alexander s Pope poem The Rape of the Lock In the early eighteenth century England witnessed the peak of the tumultuous changes that is presently known as the Age of Enlightenment. Trapped deep within the chaotic changes of politics, religion, art and social mores, Alexander Pope proved a master at exploiting these changes circumstances in order to become an admired poet. (page 558, Wilson) Visible affected by the superficiality of the humankind, Alexander Pope made fun of the real life situations, and commented on the vanity and trivialness of high society during his time. The sexual truth is finally admitted when Belinda wishes the Baron had been content to seize/ Hairs less in sight, or any hairs but these (IV.175 76, Pope). This sort of innuendo was remarkably popular, reflecting no doubt of a powerful taboo.

More often than not, people do not have the money to do both so they have to decide which things are important for them to have right now. What the consumer wants will always dictate they type and price of goods and services that are supplied. When a certain type of product comes out or starts to increase in sales it directly affects the market for that product or service. An example of this is when iPods came out and got very popular. The price of the product was high initially, but they were still selling very well. Apple increased its production because they were able to make greats profits from it. Consumers still preferred the iPod over many of the other mp3 players on the market, and because of their presence, the iPod became much more affordable.
