What Is The Relationship Between The English And The...
From the very beginning, American s have never been satisfied with government and the policies they
created. Newly appointed King George III and English Parliament were forcing policy changes upon
the colonies that did not fit the needs of the colonists. Parliament was creating taxes the colonies were
required to pay, while having virtually no say in the matter. American colonists agreed that the English
Constitution was a good form of government; however, the constant changing of basic laws and
inability to be appropriately checked and balanced did not settle with the colonists. Ultimately, the
colonists revolted against the English and the revolution that followed lead to our independence.
George Greenville s viewpoint on what the colonies

The Effects Of Social Media On Student Athletes
Along with the game, or match, as a whole being a factor in the social media changes, social media
sites also help connect the athletes themselves with their fans. Social networking has become a large
part in recruiting athletes at the collegiate level, along with their behavioral decisions while being a
student athlete on campus. At the University of North Carolina, the scandal of a couple of football
players posting inappropriate photos on Twitter became public due to UNC failing to monitor social
media posts by their student athletes (Bowles np). Similarly, social media resulted in trouble for the
University of Alabama after their decision to accept friend requests of potential recruits prior to the
allowed date of contact (Bowles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The youth forever holds the future of the world, and encouraging and adapting to the ways that attract
adolescents will provide success for those who believe in it. For example, in 2011 a world famous
rock climber, Tommy Caldwell, lived on a rock ledge 1,200 feet in the air in Yosemite Valley,
California for over two weeks, updating followers on social media along the way (Lowther np). In the
world of adventure sports, Caldwell s decision held great value and changed the game for climbers
who wished of being known around the globe. Contrarily, though, Alpinist Magazine editor, Katie
Ives, added insight to the growth of social media suggesting, In the last six years, more climbers have
started engaging in almost live updates from the mountains. Instead of actually having the experience
be the important part, it s the representation of the experience that becomes the important part
something is lost (Lowther np). Again, I state the concept in which Hitler wrote, in changing with the
world and the youth within it in order to ensure success of a prospective idea. In comparison to
televised and electronically viewer counts, the numbers of live attendance drastically reduced, despite
one of America s major pastimes being attending sporting events (Zillmann np). Furthermore, during
the 1999 Fiesta Bowl Championship game between the University of Tennessee and Florida State
University, 80, 470 fans in attendance made for a record

The Paleolithic And Neolithic
Many people wonder where they come from and how they became humans. There are two eras
throughout history that talks about how humans used to survive when there wasn t anything to make a
well constructed shelter, weapons or kitchen essentials to make food to eat. According to Garvin
Lewis in the book WCIV Volume 1. Boston: Wadsworth, Cengage Learning, 2012, the Paleolithic era
was the earliest and longest period of prehistory, when humans used simple stone stool (Lewis). The
Neolithic era was the period of human history characterized by advances in stone stool making and the
beginning of agriculture (Lewis). This essay is going to compare and contrast the people in Paleolithic
era and Neolithic. The difference between the people in the Paleolithic and Neolithic era was the way
they both obtain food, and how they both lived. The similarity that the people of the Paleolithic and
Neolithic era had was that each gender obtained somewhat the same roles. Lastly, the way that art was
used. In the Paleolithic era, people were foragers and gathers because they used to hunt wild animals
and forage wild plants (Diamond). In this era, everyone was constantly looking for food since they
didn t have no stored food and no concentrated food source (Diamond). Since they didn t have a place
to permanently live in they used to move around and find food as a small group and they used to
permanently stay in caves. In the other hand, Farmer of the Neolithic era were people that

Investigation of in vitro and in vivo antifungal activity of different plant acetonic extracts against
fungal skin isolates
ABSTRACT
T he worldwide increase of multidrug resistance has impaired the current antimicrobial therapy,
warranting the search for other alternatives.This study investigated the efficacy of using plant extracts;
Lawsonia inermis L(Henna), Glycyrrhiza glabra L(licorice) and Rosmarinus officinalis L (Rosemary)
as antifungal agents.Antifungal susceptibility test revealed that nystatin were mostly active against
tested clinical isolates. In vitro antifungal activity of the different plant extracts against isolates
showed that acetonic extract of licorice, had high antifungal activity. In vivo study, topical application
of licorice gave promising and excellent healing response. We propose that the higher percentage of
(GC MS) of 3 O Methyl d glucose 29.1 %, most probably are the causes of its higher antifungal
activity.
INTRODUCTION
Fungal and bacterial skin infections are of public health concern as they can elicit social, economic
and public health problem (Maseleno and Hasan, 2013). Heavily infected persons with visible lesions
are often unconscious targets of social stigma of rejection isolation because of their unslightly
appearance. The cost of long term diagnosis and treatment can be over bearing for low income
individuals who make up the bulk of developing countries where these infections occur in epidemic
proportions due to poor hygiene. It

Essay on Different Historical Interpretations of Bloody...
Different Historical Interpretations of Bloody Sunday
On January 30th 1972, civil rights activists were involved in a protest march against internment
through Londonderry. British paratroopers, who were deployed on the streets, shot and killed 13 of the
marchers and wounded others. Many people have different views on what happened and why.
The main conflicting views are those of the paratroopers and their supporters and the views of the
marchers and the friends and family of those killed. Source A is a newspaper report form the Daily
Mail in September 1999. It is a report on new evidence released from the second enquiry into Bloody
Sunday, led by Lord Saville. The headline reads PARAS IN ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, this would be welcomed by the marchers and families of those killed, as they have always
insisted that those killed were innocent victims of British paratroopers. They were greatly angered at
the findings of the Widgery enquiry and believed that it was a whitewash by the British government.
This new evidence presents a new chance for those who they believe are murderers to be put on trial.
Another change, which discredits the original evidence, is that forensic scientist Dr. John Martin, who
gave evidence to the Widgery hearing that Mr. Wray had been handling guns or explosives, has
reversed his opinion . This is bad for the Paratroopers side of the story, but could suggest that Dr.
Martin had been under pressure to support the soldiers in the enquiry, as their story was based on the
protestors firing guns at them.
Source B is another newspaper report, from the Guardian. The headline reads BLOODY SUNDAY
REVELATION. This backs up what we have been saying all these years: the victims were innocent.
This immediately indicated that the writer of the article supports the view of the protesters and the
families of those killed. This also shows that the article may be biased. The article also does not
include the opinion of the Paratroopers or their supporters on the

Educating Special Needs Essay
Educating Special Needs Students
Identifying and providing for special needs children is essential to special education. Once a child has
been diagnosis with a disability or multiple disabilities, a plan of care is initiated according to the
severity of their condition and their needs. This plan is individualized; one child s diagnosis is not a
reflection of the wide range conditions that affect many children. Intellectual disabilities can be mild
to profound, can be caused by different factors and can have a different impact on a student s
education and adult life. (Hardman, Drew, Egan, 2013). Professionals have found many causes for
disabilities from genetic to medical. Whatever the cause of these disabilities educators must ... Show

Autism is labeled among the most complicated, complex disability. Autism is defined as a pervasive
developmental disorder with onset prior to age 3, characterized by qualitatively impaired social
interactive and social communicative skills along with restricted and repetitive repertoire of behavior,
interests, and activities. (Hardman, Drew, Egan, 2013). No particular cause has been linked to autism,
however it has been established that abnormalities in brain structure and function is a general
explanation. (Autism Society, n.d). Autism is a developmental disability that effects how a person
thinks, learns and understands the world. This will pose a large impact on the education of students.
Characteristics of autism differ in all children and can impact students differently. Some can have
difficulties in communication, social interaction, repetitive behavior, restricted interest, sensory
processing, and learning styles. (Autism Society, n.d). Any encounter multiple children with autism
you will soon realize that their needs and their difficulties can differ. Understanding how their
individual characteristics impact their everyday life brings forth a successful path to their educational
future. As many school districts are implementing inclusion, some students with autism may be

Road Not Taken
A reader must consider the words of Robert Frost in The Road Not Taken as carefully as the individual
must consider every choice that finds them as the paths of life intersect (Kirszner Mandell, 2012,
p.624). An individual can get analysis paralysis when they think about each and every choice too
much. People can analyze something to death (Lewis, 2014, p. 517).The individual applies Newton s
third law of motion, to every action there is always opposed and equal reaction and this consideration
can render them into a state of confusion and indecisiveness as they consider the next step (Sharma,
2016, p. 23). Everything we do is a choice and every action has a reaction, therefore as individuals
with free will, we are aware that we are the navigator on our individual path, and not making a choice
has consequences just as surely as making an active choice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At the end of a day, a week, or a life, the end result is very different based on each individual road,
accordingly, every choice is pivotal and final. The road not taken may haunt the individual to ponder
and consider how their life would be different, save that one small choice (Kirszner Mandell, 2012,
p.624). Not only will the individual never gets back to the original path, they will have lost all of the
opportunities the alternate path would open up for them. The individual considers a choice, takes
responsibility for a decision and therefore, chance does not determine the outcome, but instead, the
individual determines the

Leif Enger Symbolism
Birds represent God s presence unless they are interfered with people. Leif Enger strategically created
hidden places for the references of birds into his story that become a scavenger hunt for the reader.
The Lands encounter a lot of positive and negative occasions with birds. Though God guides them
along this journey to find Jeremiah s son, Davy, God finds ways to show his presence through others.
In this book, God appears through many symbols of birds. His presence appears through people or in
new places. But, when birds are interfered with people, their positive presence of God has a negative
turn. It determines how the next portion of the Land s journey will go and their luck to come. Towards
the middle of the story, Leif Enger introduces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This seemed as though it were a sign from God. So far, Leif Enger has used Birds in his story as
representations of God s presence. This part in the novel, however, is somewhat opposite. After the
Lands had stopped by August and Birdie s place, they stared to drive across the boarder into North
Dakota. As they were driving on an open road with no other approaching cars, Swede noticed
something black, flapping in the middle of the road up ahead. They later realize it is a dead crow. This
however was not common what so ever to see a crow in North Dakota. They thought nothing of it and
proceeded on their journey. As they kept driving, there was yet another crow found dead in the middle
of the road. Jeremiah later goes on to say, I was just thinking, all the years I spent in North Dakota,
that s the first crow I ever saw hit on the road. (page 134) Enger purposefully made Jeremiah s line
prominent to tell the reader that this was very suspicious and out of the ordinary to see not one, but
two dead crows on their way. God still seemed to appear at this moment but in a different perception.
God seemed to be warning them that something bad was yet to come. Perhaps if the crows weren t
found dead, they could have meaning that the Land s were headed in the right direction. Although
because the crows were dead, the Land s were followed with bad news the next day. This shows that
God s presence has been represented through birds. Although, when birds are interfered with people,
such as possibly crows being hit by a vehicle, they lose the presence of God and bad news is yet to

Walter Payon Quotes
Walter Payton once said If you ask me how I want to be remembered, it is as a winner. You know what
a winner is? A winner is somebody who has given his best effort, who has tried the hardest they
possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and strength within them to accomplish
something. It doesn t mean that they accomplished it or failed, it means that they ve given it their best.
That s a winner. This meaningful quote suggests that being a winner doesn t necessarily mean that you
have to win every single game or award; all you have to do to be a winner is show that you put effort
and that you actually tried to win. This quote was very relevant to Walter Payton according to Don
Yaegar, the author of Walter Payton s autobiography ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walter Payton was a very important figure in football history because not only did he fight through his
hard times in high school and college but he also remained same and sympathetic through his football

and faith into something that you love. Born on July 25, 1954 in a small town of Columbia,
Mississippi; Walter was brought into this world by Peter and Alyne Payton to change football history
in a tremendous way. Peter and Alyne were loving and hardworking parents; in fact, they sacrificed
their jobs so that Walter and his siblings wouldn t remain alone. The Payton s weren t wealthy and rich

The Importance Of NFL TV Rating
[The NFL TV ratings have gone down in the first half of this 2016 season. The NFL needs more
people to watch their night games. There got there self in so much trouble that they need twice the
amount of people to watch their games. This is going to be very hard for them because of all these
problems that they are having. The problems that they are having is that there are boring match ups,
the election, people protesting about the national anthem, and how the NFL is not making the game
fun anymore. The NFL ratings have gone down for a number of reasons.]
[One of the things that the NFL needs to get their ratings up is that they need more people to watch the
Monday and Thursday night games. The main reason why people aren t watching the night games is
because of the upcoming election. On the first night of the debate it was on a Monday during Monday

going to make the playoff there is no point in watching the game. Why would people want to watch a
game that doesn t mean anything as one of the reports said. One of the other problems is that there are
people protesting about black lives matter.]
[This is bad for the TV ratings because the people that are protesting aren t going to watch the games.
This is very bad because if they don t watch the games then the NFL TV ratings are going to go down
a lot. They should just have any agreement about the protesting. They should do this because then all
of those people that are protesting will go back to watching the games. Instead of protesting they will
watch the games. Then the NFL will get there TV ratings

Examples Of Wrongful Convictions
However, it is not always the case that a confession is the end of a case, as there is always the chance
that it was in fact a false confession. This is not something people usually suspect, as was mentioned
previously that people assume no reasonable person would admit to guilt if they were innocent. Often
times the false confession comes about through coercion and the tactics of police attempting to obtain
a confession no matter if it is accurate or not. There is a vast array of options for police in trying to
obtain a confession from a party that they feel is guilty believing that the prospect of an accurate
confession outweighs the possibility of obtaining a false one. It is very common for an officer to
simply lie to a suspect who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In come cases it does occur that the error in the conviction is caught and the person who was
wrongfully convicted gets the charges against them dropped and they are released from whatever form
of punishment the courts deemed acceptable however even so, the convicted has often spent over 10
years in prison, or was executed by the state. More often than not, wrongful convictions go undetected
and this leaves researchers with a gaping hole in the research as one can only examine the causes of
wrongful convictions from the framing of wrongful convictions that have been uncovered. From the
first step of being wrongfully accused to the last step of being wrongfully punished (whether that be
community service, to incarceration, to being put on death row) many factors go into the process of a
person being wrongfully accused of criminal activity. This paper theorizes that some of them main
causes of a person being wrongfully convicted include the suspect giving false confession typically
under the pretense of police trickery, expert evidence being erroneously gathered and/or presented for
court, and the impact and validity of eyewitness testimony against the accused. These three causes,
working either in cohesion or separately all contribute in a significant manner to wrongful conviction
in the criminal justice system. On the surface, studying and examining the causes of wrongful
conviction is important so that we can be informed and thus attempt to avoid these causes. However,
the benefit of the examination of these causes foes deeper than that. By examining the causes of
wrongful conviction one can attempt to disassemble and examine the systems set in place that allow
for such errors or misuses of power to exist in the first place. By doing this a person can then critically
examine the criminal justice system which could lead to taking the necessary next steps in essential

Essay about John Steinbeck Common Themes
Born in 1902 in Salinas, California, Nobel Prize winner, John Steinbeck, was one of the most
important writers in America during the 20th century. In his novels, East of Eden, Of Mice and Men,
Cannery Row, and In Dubious Battle, Steinbeck explores what it takes for a person to find true
happiness in life. Steinbeck addresses the pursuit for happiness in one s life the American Dream , by
questioning modern idea of it being achieved through material items and the path people take to
accomplish it. Steinbeck also addresses the happiness people find in relationships and how connecting
to someone can affect a person s decisions in life. To communicate his ideas with the reader, Steinbeck

Charles provides a perfect example of the importance a relationship has, and how not having one can
bring out the darkest part of one s personality. Whereas he used East of Eden to focus on the American
Dream of one s desire to make a better life for his or her children, Steinbeck uses Of mice and Men to
focus on the unachievable aspect of the American Dream. In the novella, George and Lennie convey
this theme through their reassurance that they will not have to tend to someone else s ranch and will
soon have there own: O.K. Someday we re gonna get the jack together and we re gonna have a little
house and a couple of acres an a cow and some pigs and An live off the fatta the lan , (Of Mice and
Men, p. 13). Throughout the novella George repeats this line more often and it even acts as one of the
few things Lennie remembers. It appears the more times they reassure themselves of this dream, the
more it shifts from reality to fantasy. This dream also catches the imagination of other characters in the
novel, one being Crooks. Crooks, who naturally does not believe in the luxury of dreaming, becomes
transformed by Lennie s thinking: ...If you...guys would want a hand to work for nothing just his keep,
why I d come an lend a hand (Of Mice and Men, p. 73). This quotation suggests every American
succumbs to the idea of the American dream. This quotation also

Personal Accomplishment In Piano
My most cherished personal accomplishment was when I won the studio awards in piano. I was

because I had worked earnestly for it. To enumerate, my piano teacher only gave out only one studio
award in piano at the end of each school year. The winner of this award was the student who she
believed had accomplished the most at the piano that year. The year of 2014 was the year that I
received my first studio award in piano. At the time, I had only been playing piano for two years.
Truthfully, I was surprised at my winning the studio award because though I may have improved in
my piano playing from the previous year, I did not think of myself as a top piano student. The reason

The Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is a company that I find especially intriguing. I have a brother

rely solely on their Apple products. As you know Microsoft sits lower than Apple on this Fortune 500
list and I am curious to see if some of the new products like their new Surface Pro Pad will blast past
the iPad. I personally think Microsoft will start to rely more on the sales of consumable entertainment
items such as the X Box 360 or the Surface Pro Pad then the development and sales of the operating
systems that the company was built upon. Technology is a huge factor that plays what I think is the
largest role in the success of Microsoft. Everything the company is built on and involved with is based
around the technology that goes into their products from Cloud support for Ebola

Judaism s Views On Religion
In order to continue to be viable within society, the beliefs and practices of a religious tradition must
remain dynamic.
Due to society s current changing attitudes, Judaism needs to modify its beliefs and practices to in
order to remain viable and significant to its followers, as well as the rest of the world. By remaining
dynamic, Judaism is able to appeal to individuals by guiding them on beliefs, ethics and laws of the
religious tradition while still remaining relevant to current society. Despite these changes to maintain
its relevance, the true essence of Judaism is still preserved.

The variants allow men and women to sit together during the service. As well as having male rabbis,
Progressive and Conservative also allow and encourage women to become rabbis, therefore women
are able to lead synagogue services. They believe males and females to be equally important in
matters of the church. This belief is also reflected in the prayer book of Progressive Judaism which
has replaced masculine names for God such as King and Lord for Eternal One and Sovereign etc., so
that there is no type of gender inclusive language that would indicate prejudice, but instead promotes
the notion of equality.
Modern Society s current vernacular language is English, contrariwise, the Orthodox synagogue
service is preached entirely in Hebrew by the Rabbi with his delivery facing away from the
congregation. This completely ignores modern society s views on what the vernacular language is or
should be.
In Progressive Judaism however, the rabbi preaches the sermon according to the language of the
people, which is most cases is English, while delivering his sermon towards the congregation. The
Progressive Service caters more for the people, as more individuals are able to equally participate in
all aspects of the Synagogue service as they are able to understand what is being thought.
Conservative Judaism believes in following the traditional value of teaching in Hebrew for they regard
the language as irreplaceable and utterly important to Judaism. With this being said

Social Culture Of The Pawnee Tribe
The Pawnee tribe is a Native American tribe that was originated from Nebraska and had very unique
cultural elements. The cultural elements I chose to go more indepth are Social Organizations, Customs
and Traditions, Language, and Religion of the Pawnee tribe. For the Social Organizations I will
discuss the social classes, and the political organization of the tribe. For Customs and Traditions I will
examine the rules of behavior, as well as the food they consumed. For Language I will discuss the
written and the unwritten language as well as the common language with the other bands. Lastly I will
talk about the Religion and go into more details on their rituals, and their beliefs. I believe that the
longevity of the tribe was directly related to the way they lived. The social organization of the Pawnee
tribe consisted of the social class, and the political organization. The Pawnee tribe was divided into
four main bands the Chaui or the Great Band , the Kitkahahki or the Republican , the Pirahauerat or
the Tappage and the Skiri or the Wolf Pawnee . These four bands made up the political organization.
The Chaui are generally recognized as being the leading band although each band was autonomous,
that is until outside pressures from the Europeans and neighboring tribes saw the Pawnee drawing

found in album, Me Against the World, for a single mother to show love for her child takes a huge
struggle, especially when it was a time where gang violence was really high and fathers would leave
their children. Throughout the song Tupac uses imagery to capture the feeling of pain and struggle and
fluently illustrate the moments where he was young, until he grew up and realized the love his mother
gave him. Dear Mama is also portrayed as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The song implements on the hardships a mother will face for the growth of their son because love is
what keeps them going. The love a mother will have for her son means that even though they don t
have a father figure around to show them how to grow up, they will always have their mothers to
teach them the way of life through a woman s perspective. In the song, Dear Mama , Tupac mentions,
For a woman it ain t easy trying to raise a man, you always was committed and he is able to
foreshadow the hardships his mother had to face while Tupac was growing up without a father. At the
age of seventeen Tupac, was always caught up in drama with his mom. Since Tupac was young he got
involved into the hustle and was left in the streets where he basically had to risk he life every day. He
never realized that being pushed into the streets would make him think about his mother or even worry
about her. Tupac reflects upon the behavior he had during the time and how much stress he would add
on his mother s shoulders, but little did he know that his mother would be there for him regardless.
Tupac Shakur s mom was committed to his son and no matter the troubles he caused and faced she
would be there for him to either help him out or at least hear him when he was not feeling good. She
was a single mother on welfare, but she always tried

The Between Mind And Body
There is no real answer for the question about if mind and body are the same or different, a person is
made of mind and body and the both have different characteristics. Rene Descartes asked the question
what am I. he gives and answer to the question by saying he is a thinking thig, if the body and mind
are different from one other, mind can also continue with no body because it is not import for what he
is. Moreover body is breakable and extender and mind is not breakable and non extended, that is a
reason they are different in nature.
Rene Descartes settled the metaphysical differences between the body and mind, but he also have to
think about the relationship between mind and body. Mind and body are two different substances with
many properties. Moreover the mind and body communicate, its and everyday experience, the actions
that we do every day is from our thoughts. The relationship between the body and mind is much more
close and special, it cannot be regenerated with any other physical substances. When anywhere in the
body is wounded we feel pain and tries to not get injured again. Desires and thoughts have a
connection with how the body behaves but the mind is able to take control of the body
Descartes assumes that if it is possible to conceive of one thing without the other, then those two
things are not identical. The self is not a body, it s not a physical thing without a body. He also argues
that we can conceive of ourselves as existing. Thinking is

Essay on Sociological Perspectives to Understand Society
WITH REFERENCE TO THE RANGE OF SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES, EXPLAIN HOW
SOCIOLOGISTS ATTEMPT TO UNDERSTAND SOCIETY.
The main aim of sociology is to seek an understanding or explanation as to how society functions or
operates. There are numerous sociological theories, some dating back as early as the 19th century,
these include Structural and Marxist Functionalism and Social Action theories. Throughout the years
these perspectives have gradually been modernised due to the changes that have occurred in society.
In this assignment I shall be looking at the key theories of the more notable exponents of the different
sociological perspectives from pre industrialisation times to the modern age and their interpretation of
how society works.

Also he believed that society should be studied from a scientific objective. He argued that sociology
should be based on the methodology of natural science and claimed that this would result in positive
science of society. (Giddens 1997)
Talcott Parsons was an American sociologist whose main contribution was to add to the view of
society the notion that functional relationships within and between institutions contributed to harmony
in the system thus society involves at least a level of integration between the parts. Parsons stated that
the central value of the system of a society provides the basic glue that shapes and holds the society
together and therefore provides the base for integration. He continued in saying that members of
society share the same goals, thus persons may have different roles and perform different functions,
but once they all agree on the values that underpin the goal to be attained, they are likely to have equal
commitment to attain the common goal. (Baert, Carreira da Silva 2010) According to Parsons, society
is based on a value consensus, which is a set of agreed goals, values and roles that standardise and
determine behaviour. This value consensus is established and maintained within the institutions of
society. Society is therefore a system and has to meet certain

How Did The Romans Contribute To Government
The Romans have contributed greatly to our modern era. They ve influenced our law and government.
Many ideas of the American Legal System came from the Roman Republican Government. Like our
law, the Romans also believed that everyone was equal under the law. They also during court, a person
is considered innocent until he/she is convicted of the crime. The Romans invented the very idea of a
Republican Government, they elected people to lead the government and to make decisions for the
people. Many countries, including the U.S., have a republican based government.
The Romans have also contributed to our calendar we use today. It started out as the Julian Calendar,
which was invented by the Roman dictator Julius Caesar. The calendar had 12 months, 365 days, and
a leap year. It was the most accurate calendar at the time it was invented. It was used in ... Show more

However, the Roman Empire wasn t always Christian. It started our worshipping multiple gods from
the Greek religion. The only difference was that the Romans changed the gods names to their own
Roman names. They believed in that religion until A.D. 380 when Emperor Theodosius, after being
baptized into the Christian Church, made Christianity the sole, authorized religion of the Roman
Empire. It was because of that, the Christian Church is now the largest religion in the world today.
Once the Romans began conquering territories throughout Europe, the Romans spread their language
that they spoke, Latin around Europe. The people of the lands that the Romans conquered spoke
different languages than the Romans however. So, what happened was that Latin would mix with the
native languages evolving into languages of their own. These languages are known as the Romance
Languages which are French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. These languages are similar
to each other and are all still used today in Europe and around the

The Pros And Cons Of Xenotransplantation
Animal experimentation is widely conducted for drug testing, medical training, education, as well as
Research and Development (R D). Over 100 million animals are killed in the laboratories annually,
and they are physically and psychologically traumatised by experimentation (PETA, 2017; Live
Science, 2017). However, the reality is that majority of animal experiments are unreliable. Most of
their sacrifices do not contribute to improving human health as the medical treatments developed in
animals rarely translate to human benefits due to the differing complexities between experimental
animals and humans (PETA, 2017; Live Science, 2017). Hence, we argue that the role of animal
experimentation in medical research is questionable.

Xenotransplantation is the procedure involving the transplantation of living cells, tissues or organs
from one species to another, particularly from animal to human (NHMRC, 2017). The most widely
studied animal species for xenotransplantation are pigs. Animals are genetically engineered to produce
human cells or substrates, which are used to incubate human organs (Vermeulen et al., 2017).
However, the ethical implications of such applications are debatable.
Since most of the animals involved in transplantation are genetically engineered (transgenic animals),
xenotransplantation is viewed by many as an unnatural and inappropriate interference in nature
(Manesh et al. 2014). Besides the deontological arguments, the consequences and complications of
transplantation process lead to ethical issues. Before and after the transplantation procedure, the organ
receiver must consume large doses of immunosuppressive drugs, which greatly affects their immune
system. The lack of scientific evidence on the desired functions of transplanted organs on individual
patients undermines the procedure s

Radioactive Boy Scout By David Hahn
Introduction The book Radioactive Boy Scout is a true story about a boy named David Hahn that
attended a Michigan high school. His goal was to set out and build a fast breeder reactor in his garden
shed. He educated himself in these things by reading popular mechanics and the golden book of
chemistry experiments. Whatever he could not get from laboratory suppliers, universities, hospitals,
and nuclear agencies, he made himself. David collected household smoke detectors and extracted
americium 24. He also got assembled gas mantle covers and pulverized them to get radioactive
thorium and took the Geiger counter in to an antique shop where he found a clock with a phial of
radium paint left in it. With a little bit of things he had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David would go through medicine chest, and cabinets and gather things together like; toothpaste, soap,
medicine, cram, nail polish remover, and rubbing alcohol. He would mix everything together into a
metal bowl and stir all the contents together in an ashtray, after stirring all the things together he
realized all he had was a lifeless gray blob. So of course he added more things to it and eventually
caused the products to boil over and so David flushed them down the toilet.
Key Idea 2
David was so into science that he had no time for any other activities. Is dad tried to get him into
activities, but David never seemed interested. As David got older he tried many new things with these
things that became a lot more dangerous than just the things he was getting from the medicine
cabinets. David had a shed he worked all his experiments in that could explode. He would also work
at the side of his pool or in his room. David became in the boy scouts where he learned a lot of new
things about his experiments. He pursued in getting the atomic energy merit badge. As a final set of
tasks, David built a Geiger counter from a kit, he visited a hospital radiology unit to learn about the
medical uses of radioisotopes, constructed a model nuclear reactor. The model was built out of a juice
can, plastic pill bottles, coat hangers, soda straws, kitchen matches, and rubber bands. David s Boy

The Definition Of Blind By Texas State University
Diversity is usually portrayed as the acceptance of many different races and geographical cultures. It is
not as common to hear the lack of diversity towards the blind community but it exists. The attendance
of Texas State University has opened up the doors to one of the most diverse places I have had the
chance to experience first hand. Although Texas State has become somewhat of a safe haven, that does
not displace the fact that there is stereotyping everywhere against the blind.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of blind is unable to see; sightless (Definition of
Blind in English, 2015). However, I do not like to be put in such a box. I define blindness as merely a
heightening of other senses. What do you think of when you hear the word sight? More than likely
you think of shapes, colors, and objects. My idea of sight consists of many senses; smell, touch,
sounds, those are the things that I see with. How about the word blind; what do you think of then? The
most common relation to the word blind is disabled; however, we are a very abled people. Even
though I carry a cane among my person I get through my daily life just as any other able bodied
human being (Question 1).
My name is Melony Fey Harper and I am blind. I am just another girl on just another campus getting
through just another day. There are a few differences, however, in the structure of a typical person s
day and my own. I wake up, brush my teeth, put on my makeup, and head downstairs

The School Secondary School Curriculum
Teaching students to invest is investing in the future
Train A and train B are traveling on parallel tracks, going in the same direction. Train A is going
60mph and train B is going 80mph. The reason this may seem familiar is because it is a homework
problem that appears before many students as a critical thinking question, as if calculating train speeds
will be relevant in students futures. Contrastingly, financial literacy homework is rarely taught directly
to students in school, despite it being essential for present day survival. If managing money is more of
a relevant skill than calculating train speeds, why is the latter mandatory to learn while the former is
not? That being said, in order to prepare students for managing their ... Show more content on

Finally, learning about dealing with money steers adolescents towards more financially secure and
Guo 2 stress reduced futures. The current secondary school curriculum of Ontario should be improved
by implementation of mandatory financial literacy courses, as managing money is vital for high school
students.
In current society, teenagers face impending financial responsibilities regarding post secondary loans
and jobs, and the majority will be heading into these obligations without sufficient education. 6,800
twelfth grade students completed the 2008 Jumpstart Coalition survey of financial literacy, correctly
answering an average of 48.3 percent of all questions, the lowest ever recorded, while in 1997, an
average of 57.3 percent of the questions was answered correctly by twelfth graders, 9 percent more
than 11 years later ( The Financial Literacy of Young American Adults ). The survey questioned
students understanding of credit cards, bank loans and investment, much of which was foreign to these
young adults. It is irrefutable to say that money in society becomes increasingly important as time
progresses, so ideally, knowledge of it should also be increasing. Instead, it is decreasing, suggesting
that as the world becomes more financially complex, students are less understanding of the concepts,
which will likely

Difference Between Wooden Motte And Bailey Castles
Because of a lack of a strong central government during feudal society, wars happened often. For
protection every noble built a castle. The first proper castles were built in England after the Norman
Conquest in 1066. Wooden motte and bailey castles were the first type of castle to be built in England.
The tower of the keep was built a huge mound called a motte and had an enclosed courtyard called a
bailey. It would have been very difficult to get up the sides of the motte because they were so steep. A
ditch dug around the bottom of the motte also added protection. The bailey was located at the bottom
of the motte and could be up to three acres. Followers of the lord who ran the castle lived inside the
bailey. There were many buildings in the bailey including bakeries, kitchens, houses, stables, and
living quarters for soldiers.
Motte and bailey castles were quick and easy to build. Some could even be finished in a couple of
weeks. However, wooden buildings caught on fire easily and stone structures were much stronger.
Because of this, motte and bailey castles were soon replaced with stone castles.

They had two or three walls around the keep. Because the inside walls were built higher than the
outside walls, defenders could shoot arrows over the heads of the soldiers defending the outside walls.
Even if an enemy broke though the outer walls, there was a second castle defended and with supplies
waiting for them. Known as the death hole, being trapped between two walls of a castle would result
in almost certain death for the attacker. Some concentric castles even had moats for more protection.
After the invention of gun powder concentric castles became even more popular because they could
withstand bullets while a wooden castle could

Myths
Drop in blood flow from brain and oxygen delivery
Mostly people believe there is a drop in oxygen and blood flow after a meal which leads to after meal
drowsiness and sleepiness. But this is wrong because even though there is an increase in blood flow
due to passage of food in the gastrointestinal tracts, it is generally from the skeletal muscle tissue and
also by increasing the rate of blood pumped per minute by the heart.
Tryptophan present in the Turkey
Popular myth among everyone is that turkey is very rich in tryptophan which when consumed during a

produces serotonin which is associated with relaxation and sleepiness. However, the amount of
tryptophan present in turkey is similar to chicken, beef, and other meats. The quantity required to raise
brain serotonin level cannot be achieved by eating servings of turkey.

  • 2. What Is The Relationship Between The English And The... From the very beginning, American s have never been satisfied with government and the policies they created. Newly appointed King George III and English Parliament were forcing policy changes upon the colonies that did not fit the needs of the colonists. Parliament was creating taxes the colonies were required to pay, while having virtually no say in the matter. American colonists agreed that the English Constitution was a good form of government; however, the constant changing of basic laws and inability to be appropriately checked and balanced did not settle with the colonists. Ultimately, the colonists revolted against the English and the revolution that followed lead to our independence. George Greenville s viewpoint on what the colonies ... • 3. The Effects Of Social Media On Student Athletes Along with the game, or match, as a whole being a factor in the social media changes, social media sites also help connect the athletes themselves with their fans. Social networking has become a large part in recruiting athletes at the collegiate level, along with their behavioral decisions while being a student athlete on campus. At the University of North Carolina, the scandal of a couple of football players posting inappropriate photos on Twitter became public due to UNC failing to monitor social media posts by their student athletes (Bowles np). Similarly, social media resulted in trouble for the University of Alabama after their decision to accept friend requests of potential recruits prior to the allowed date of contact (Bowles ... The youth forever holds the future of the world, and encouraging and adapting to the ways that attract adolescents will provide success for those who believe in it. For example, in 2011 a world famous rock climber, Tommy Caldwell, lived on a rock ledge 1,200 feet in the air in Yosemite Valley, California for over two weeks, updating followers on social media along the way (Lowther np). In the world of adventure sports, Caldwell s decision held great value and changed the game for climbers who wished of being known around the globe. Contrarily, though, Alpinist Magazine editor, Katie Ives, added insight to the growth of social media suggesting, In the last six years, more climbers have started engaging in almost live updates from the mountains. Instead of actually having the experience be the important part, it s the representation of the experience that becomes the important part something is lost (Lowther np). Again, I state the concept in which Hitler wrote, in changing with the world and the youth within it in order to ensure success of a prospective idea. In comparison to televised and electronically viewer counts, the numbers of live attendance drastically reduced, despite one of America s major pastimes being attending sporting events (Zillmann np). Furthermore, during the 1999 Fiesta Bowl Championship game between the University of Tennessee and Florida State University, 80, 470 fans in attendance made for a record ... • 4. The Paleolithic And Neolithic Many people wonder where they come from and how they became humans. There are two eras throughout history that talks about how humans used to survive when there wasn t anything to make a well constructed shelter, weapons or kitchen essentials to make food to eat. According to Garvin Lewis in the book WCIV Volume 1. Boston: Wadsworth, Cengage Learning, 2012, the Paleolithic era was the earliest and longest period of prehistory, when humans used simple stone stool (Lewis). The Neolithic era was the period of human history characterized by advances in stone stool making and the beginning of agriculture (Lewis). This essay is going to compare and contrast the people in Paleolithic era and Neolithic. The difference between the people in the Paleolithic and Neolithic era was the way they both obtain food, and how they both lived. The similarity that the people of the Paleolithic and Neolithic era had was that each gender obtained somewhat the same roles. Lastly, the way that art was used. In the Paleolithic era, people were foragers and gathers because they used to hunt wild animals and forage wild plants (Diamond). In this era, everyone was constantly looking for food since they didn t have no stored food and no concentrated food source (Diamond). Since they didn t have a place to permanently live in they used to move around and find food as a small group and they used to permanently stay in caves. In the other hand, Farmer of the Neolithic era were people that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Investigation Of Vitro And The Vivo Antifungal Activity Of... Investigation of in vitro and in vivo antifungal activity of different plant acetonic extracts against fungal skin isolates ABSTRACT T he worldwide increase of multidrug resistance has impaired the current antimicrobial therapy, warranting the search for other alternatives. This study investigated the efficacy of using plant extracts; Lawsonia inermis L(Henna), Glycyrrhiza glabra L(licorice) and Rosmarinus officinalis L (Rosemary) as antifungal agents.Antifungal susceptibility test revealed that nystatin were mostly active against tested clinical isolates. In vitro antifungal activity of the different plant extracts against isolates showed that acetonic extract of licorice, had high antifungal activity. In vivo study, topical application of licorice gave promising and excellent healing response. We propose that the higher percentage of (GC MS) of 3 O Methyl d glucose 29.1 %, most probably are the causes of its higher antifungal activity. INTRODUCTION Fungal and bacterial skin infections are of public health concern as they can elicit social, economic and public health problem (Maseleno and Hasan, 2013). Heavily infected persons with visible lesions are often unconscious targets of social stigma of rejection isolation because of their unslightly appearance. • 7. Essay on Different Historical Interpretations of Bloody... Different Historical Interpretations of Bloody Sunday On January 30th 1972, civil rights activists were involved in a protest march against internment through Londonderry. British paratroopers, who were deployed on the streets, shot and killed 13 of the marchers and wounded others. Many people have different views on what happened and why. The main conflicting views are those of the paratroopers and their supporters and the views of the marchers and the friends and family of those killed. The headline reads PARAS IN ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this would be welcomed by the marchers and families of those killed, as they have always insisted that those killed were innocent victims of British paratroopers. They were greatly angered at the findings of the Widgery enquiry and believed that it was a whitewash by the British government. This new evidence presents a new chance for those who they believe are murderers to be put on trial. Another change, which discredits the original evidence, is that forensic scientist Dr. John Martin, who gave evidence to the Widgery hearing that Mr. Wray had been handling guns or explosives, has reversed his opinion . This is bad for the Paratroopers side of the story, but could suggest that Dr. Martin had been under pressure to support the soldiers in the enquiry, as their story was based on the protestors firing guns at them. Source B is another newspaper report, from the Guardian. The headline reads BLOODY SUNDAY REVELATION. This backs up what we have been saying all these years: the victims were innocent. This immediately indicated that the writer of the article supports the view of the protesters and the families of those killed. This also shows that the article may be biased. The article also does not include the opinion of the Paratroopers or their supporters on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once a child has been diagnosis with a disability or multiple disabilities, a plan of care is initiated according to the severity of their condition and their needs. This plan is individualized; one child s diagnosis is not a reflection of the wide range conditions that affect many children. Intellectual disabilities can be mild to profound, can be caused by different factors and can have a different impact on a student s education and adult life. (Hardman, Drew, Egan, 2013). • 9. Road Not Taken A reader must consider the words of Robert Frost in The Road Not Taken as carefully as the individual must consider every choice that finds them as the paths of life intersect (Kirszner Mandell, 2012, p.624). An individual can get analysis paralysis when they think about each and every choice too much. People can analyze something to death (Lewis, 2014, p. 517).The individual applies Newton s third law of motion, to every action there is always opposed and equal reaction and this consideration can render them into a state of confusion and indecisiveness as they consider the next step (Sharma, 2016, p. 23). Everything we do is a choice and every action has a reaction, therefore as individuals with free will, we are aware that we are the navigator on our individual path, and not making a choice has consequences just as surely as making an active choice. ... • 10. Leif Enger Symbolism Birds represent God s presence unless they are interfered with people. Leif Enger strategically created hidden places for the references of birds into his story that become a scavenger hunt for the reader. The Lands encounter a lot of positive and negative occasions with birds. Though God guides them along this journey to find Jeremiah s son, Davy, God finds ways to show his presence through others. In this book, God appears through many symbols of birds. His presence appears through people or in new places. But, when birds are interfered with people, their positive presence of God has a negative turn. It determines how the next portion of the Land s journey will go and their luck to come. Towards the middle of the story, Leif Enger introduces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This seemed as though it were a sign from God. So far, Leif Enger has used Birds in his story as representations of God s presence. This part in the novel, however, is somewhat opposite. After the Lands had stopped by August and Birdie s place, they stared to drive across the boarder into North Dakota. As they were driving on an open road with no other approaching cars, Swede noticed something black, flapping in the middle of the road up ahead. They later realize it is a dead crow. This however was not common what so ever to see a crow in North Dakota. They thought nothing of it and proceeded on their journey. As they kept driving, there was yet another crow found dead in the middle of the road. Jeremiah later goes on to say, I was just thinking, all the years I spent in North Dakota, that s the first crow I ever saw hit on the road. (page 134) Enger purposefully made Jeremiah s line prominent to tell the reader that this was very suspicious and out of the ordinary to see not one, but two dead crows on their way. God still seemed to appear at this moment but in a different perception. God seemed to be warning them that something bad was yet to come. Perhaps if the crows weren t found dead, they could have meaning that the Land s were headed in the right direction. Although because the crows were dead, the Land s were followed with bad news the next day. This shows that God s presence has been represented through birds. Although, when birds are interfered with people, such as possibly crows being hit by a vehicle, they lose the presence of God and bad news is yet to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Walter Payon Quotes Walter Payton once said If you ask me how I want to be remembered, it is as a winner. You know what a winner is? A winner is somebody who has given his best effort, who has tried the hardest they possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and strength within them to accomplish something. It doesn t mean that they accomplished it or failed, it means that they ve given it their best. That s a winner. This meaningful quote suggests that being a winner doesn t necessarily mean that you have to win every single game or award; all you have to do to be a winner is show that you put effort and that you actually tried to win. • 14. Examples Of Wrongful Convictions However, it is not always the case that a confession is the end of a case, as there is always the chance that it was in fact a false confession. This is not something people usually suspect, as was mentioned previously that people assume no reasonable person would admit to guilt if they were innocent. Often times the false confession comes about through coercion and the tactics of police attempting to obtain a confession no matter if it is accurate or not. There is a vast array of options for police in trying to obtain a confession from a party that they feel is guilty believing that the prospect of an accurate confession outweighs the possibility of obtaining a false one. In come cases it does occur that the error in the conviction is caught and the person who was wrongfully convicted gets the charges against them dropped and they are released from whatever form of punishment the courts deemed acceptable however even so, the convicted has often spent over 10 years in prison, or was executed by the state. More often than not, wrongful convictions go undetected and this leaves researchers with a gaping hole in the research as one can only examine the causes of wrongful convictions from the framing of wrongful convictions that have been uncovered. From the first step of being wrongfully accused to the last step of being wrongfully punished (whether that be community service, to incarceration, to being put on death row) many factors go into the process of a person being wrongfully accused of criminal activity. This paper theorizes that some of them main causes of a person being wrongfully convicted include the suspect giving false confession typically under the pretense of police trickery, expert evidence being erroneously gathered and/or presented for court, and the impact and validity of eyewitness testimony against the accused. These three causes, working either in cohesion or separately all contribute in a significant manner to wrongful conviction in the criminal justice system. On the surface, studying and examining the causes of wrongful conviction is important so that we can be informed and thus attempt to avoid these causes. However, the benefit of the examination of these causes foes deeper than that. By examining the causes of wrongful conviction one can attempt to disassemble and examine the systems set in place that allow for such errors or misuses of power to exist in the first place. By doing this a person can then critically examine the criminal justice system which could lead to taking the necessary next steps in essential ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
