I went into this childcare center knowing that it would do rather well. Garnero Child
Development Center is very well run and Ann, the side supervisor, makes sure that
everything meets standards. I have seen her in the early mornings observing
classrooms with a checklist. When I let the lead teachers know that we would be
filling the ECERS out, they knew exactly what it was and both mentioned that they

Many things are fantasy, but now since I have learned what magical realism is, I

I can imagine Billy revisiting New York and looking at famous landmarks. Another
good addition is being able to see the perspective of the member of Judgement Day
who sabotaged the missile. Seeing the perspective of any antagonist would be
good too. It would very intrigue to see this perspective, because the closest we get
to the antagonist s perspective is Markell s suicide, and that isn t much. It is
difficult to say which part is the best because the entire book is pretty good,
although pg.166 1667 is one part in particular which is quite funny; the Judgement
Day had placed a 50 million bounty on Shepard. Soon Sheppard became the most
wanted man in the world; because of this all of the pictures of Sheppard were
destroyed. In that scene, Sheppard was looking at blogs that claimed to have
pictures of him. They were the laughable one depicted him as a muscular African
another had a 200 pound man; none of these were anywhere close what Sheppard
looked like. This scene brings some fun into an otherwise dark book, which is
rather unique. The part in which one of the 7 missiles were sabotaged by
Judgement Day and exploded before it reached the asteroid was a jaw dropper. This

Michael Moore s Bowling for Columbine (2002) is a documentary exploring America
s predilection for gun violence with a focus on the Columbine High School massacre
of 1999. Moore investigates the background and environment where the massacre
took place. Additionally, the documentary presents common public opinions and
assumptions about related issues.
Within the documentary, Moore uses archival footage of gun violence, pro gun and
anti gun rallies, and news media footage often with this being expressed through
montage with contrapuntal, non diegetic sound. Additionally, Moore uses his own
angry, humorous, and satirical commentary through voice over, and interviews with
civilians on either end of the gun control debate.

Heston an American actor who in movie scenes holds and shoots guns, and is
president of the NRA who Moore is fictitiously shooting at. Overall, the use of
Heston is less to convey information or offer exposition, rather Moore is adopting a
dialectical structure wherein he poses himself against a villain which is a complete
binary opposition to himself. Like a fiction film, Heston is posed as the apparent bad
guy of Bowling for Columbine who represents the whole of the NRA, whilst further
representing white, upper class, conservative America. This is further exemplified
in the ending sequence of the documentary where Moore invades Heston s home
akin to how the NRA invades towns after mass shootings and asks him to apologize
to the people of Columbine and Kayla Rolland. When Heston refuses, Moore leaves
a picture of Rolland on his driveway which is thematically leaving the blame for her
death with Heston.
On the other hand, the clip utilizes an interview with a Michigan State Police officer
to offer exposition on the dog shooting case. However, the interview acts less as a

This world is full of inspiring, thoughtful, and hardworking people. Its full of crises
and hard life decisions people make everyday. The books Ellen Foster, Lord of the
Flies, and To Kill a Mockingbird all capture these qualities of humankind. They are
full of savagery, plane crashes, racial issues, child abuse, and perseverance. All three
novels connect by how tenacious people are when they are required to overcome
adversity.
In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandoned a
large amount of boys with no parental guidance on an island stranded. The boys
struggled to survive through the whole book. The boys are desperate to eat
something other than fruit, so they try and try to kill a pig, but have a of trouble
with it. These boys though did not give up. They surrounded the covert but the
sow got away with the sting of another spear in her flank. The trailing butts
hindered her and the sharp, cross cut points were a torment. She blundered into a
tree, forcing a spear still deeper; and after that any of the hunters could follow her
easily by the drops of vivid blood .(Golding 196?) This quote shows how
determined the boys were to get meat. This scene was known as the rape scene
because the boys wanted to kill a pig so bad for the meat and the power. This book
displayed the ability that boys could survive on their own even though there might
have been some major conflicts they had to face.
