Economic Success Of Immigrants
Language is our primary source of communication. It s the method through which we can share ideas
and thought with others. It is an essential to every aspect and interaction in our everyday lives.
Without it, we wouldn t be able to inform others around us on how we feel, what we desire or even
question and or understand the world around us. Over the years, English language has become one of
our principle assets in getting a global leadership role. It comes to our aid in our commercial
transaction as well a tool to establish our viewpoints. Most studies have shown that the single most
important factor in determining the economic success of immigrants in the United States is their
ability to speak English. Proving how vital English is in this

Neuropathic Ulcers
Neuropathic Ulcers Homework 1. 1. Why does a high blood glucose level cause tissue damage? There
are a few different theories of why hyperglycemia cause tissue damage. One cause is caused by the
increase in microvascular pressures from the hemodynamic changes. It also changes RBC to become
less deformable making it harder to release oxygen, and more adhesive. The RBC will stick to each
other and to the capillary walls. Similar to RBC s, platelets become more adhesive, making capillary
walls thicker. The decrease in lumen size causes the increase in microvascular pressure.
Hyperglycemia also causes glucose to bind to protein forming glycosylate proteins , causing tissue
damage. 2. 2. You would think that increased blood

What Is Tooth Decay In The 50 s
By examining three of the commercials from the 1950s, we can conclude what the initial perceived
dental problem was in the era. In each of the commercials I analyzed, the issue of tooth decay was
mentioned repeatedly. I examined the 1956 Pepsodent commercial, the 1950s Colgate Dental Cream
commercial, and the 1956 Crest commercial. The competing companies all had a similar substantive
characteristic in that they used science and scientific terms to sway their consumers. In the particular
situation of tooth decay, all of the rhetors chose science and special terminology that would cause a
response in their audience. It is hard to argue against science after all.
Beginning with the 1956 Pepsodent commercial we see that the scientific formula is used but not
explained. According to the cartoon images in the commercial, I.M.P. cleans the teeth and removes the
yellow stains, while Irium fights tooth decay. The science behind these products in the toothpaste
formula is not mentioned. However, the audience can see the cause and effect in relation to those two
ingredients. By using Pepsodent and its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It did, however, have a professional dentist advising his patient to use that particular brand. The dentist
repeatedly stated that Colgate Dental Cream proved with scientific evidence that it stops tooth decay
best. The dentist continues to say that no other toothpaste has proved so completely with dental
research that Colgate stops tooth decay and bad breath. Again, just like the Pepsodent commercial, we
see that scientific formula (though we have not been told how or with what) Colgate leads to physical
attraction and kissing. In this commercial, an explanation of anything is not needed, because there is a
supposed trusted professional telling the audience that the evidence exists. Use the toothpaste that has
backed scientific research and get the

Informative Speech On Fashion
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the culture and traditions of Indian clothing.
Central Idea: There are many types of Indian clothing, but my focus is to discuss one specific type
which is the lehenga. The lehenga is a big part of the Indian culture, comes in a variety of colors, and
has many designs.
Organizational Pattern: Topical
Introduction
I. Attention Getter: India is a country known for its rich and diverse culture. When it comes to fashion
there are a variety of different styles just like any other country. But what really sets it apart is the
bright colors and the heavy work on the outfits which you don t see very often.
II. Relate to Audience/ Thesis Statement: We all love fashion and we want to look classy as well as
sophisticated when it comes to weddings or any other social events. Indian clothes are all about
looking your best.
III. Establish Credibility: I was born in India and I know about the different cultures and traditions
when it comes to Indian dresses. I own variety of different Indian outfits, therefore, I know a lot of
them. It is something which I love shopping for and enjoy wearing.
IV. Preview: Throughout this speech, I will explain how Indian dresses are a big part of our culture.
First, I will talk about how it connects me to my culture, then how it comes in a variety of colors, and
at last the different designs.
[Transition: First, Indian clothing comes in many different styles and we have endless options when it
comes to deciding what to wear to Indian weddings or other social events.]
Body
I. Main point: India has many different cultures and every culture has different types of clothing they
wear.
A. Sub point: My focus is on one specific type of Indian clothing which is called the lehenga and it is
worn in almost every part of India by women.
1. The word lehenga means a long skirt. The top part can be described as the crop top and the bottom
part is the long skirt.
2. It is a three piece attire which includes the skirt, the top, and the dupatta otherwise known as the
shawl. Although it is called by many different names in different parts of India it is the same outfit.
3. As you can see these are two of my outfits which include all the three

A Constellation Of Vital Phenomena
Constellation of Vital Phenomena In a Constellation of Vital Phenomena the final chapter of the book
contains both joy and tragedy. Ultimately, the message of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena is that
love trumps all. Love trumps hate, the interior ministry, starvation, and even death. The ending brings
both sorrow and the hope for humanity to heal and forgive. The final chapter of the book was as
profound but also delicately intricate as the rest of the novel. The final chapter of the book conveyed
within the context a theme of joy and tragedy. The message of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena isn
t just a story of hope or tragedy. The storyline of the novel was a realistic ending for the well
developed characters. The novel contained an abundance of joy because a novel that is all dark and
depressing is not accurate to reality. In times of trouble, people use humor to relax and understand
their struggles. Despite it being the final state for Akhmed and Dokka they found peace down in the
mud of a landfill. No one knew what to make of these two men who had found each other in the mud
of the Landfill and begun dancing. (Marra) The men were joyous because Havaa was safe and sound.
A happy ending does not always consist of a fairytale because that is not at all reflective of life.
Something is more profound than life itself and that is hope. This dark novel of war contained humor,
joy, and love without belittling the

My Auntie Yumi s House Was A Place Of Refuge, My Favorite...
My Auntie Yumi s house was a place of refuge, my favorite place. My siblings and I spent a lot of
time there in the years our parents despised each other. We escaped my drunk, avoidant father for the
shade of the century old plumeria tree in Auntie Yumi s front yard. We recoiled from my mother s
violent, hate filled outbursts by retreating to Auntie Yumi s kitchen, where the screenless windows
welcomed cool breezes and feather light drizzle, and the smell of the mosquito punk smoldering under
the kitchen table was like a balm to our bruised minds.
Nearly half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce, but there s still a lot of stigma
surrounding post divorce parents and children. My parents prolonged their tumultuous relationship in
a misguided attempt to maintain a stable environment for their children, but our home life was
anything but stable. This resulted in my siblings and me living in an unhealthy environment that
caused more trauma than a divorce would have. It was my childhood mentor who helped me come to
grips with the guilt and shame associated with my parents breakup and embrace a different, but
healthier, family dynamic.
My Auntie Yumi, my other mother, is my best friend s mom. Petite, with sparkling upturned eyes, a
lilting Japanese accent, coarse graying hair cut short, and skin turned a dark caramel by days working
in the garden and tending to the animals on her little homestead, she is a life long learner who in her
forties picked up

Gsk 3 Regulates Dna Methylation
Gsk 3 Regulates DNA Methylation
Gsk 3 activity has been observed to regulate DNA methylation through altered expression of DNA
methyltransferase Dnmt3a2. This was confirmed by knocking out both Gsk 3 isoforms (Gsk 3 DKO)
in mouse ESCs, resulting in the reduction of DNA methylation and altered gene expression (Meredith
et al., 2015; Popkie et al., 2010). Lithium mimics this reduced Gsk 3 activity in two ways: direct
inhibition and indirect inhibition by increasing inhibitory phosphorylation of Gsk 3 (Jope, 2003).
These two effects work in synergy to influence Gsk 3 regulated functions. Interestingly, lithium is
commonly used as a mood stabilizer treatment for patients with bipolar disorder (BPD) (Phiel, 2001).
The exact mechanism behind how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Methyl seq was performed on genomic DNA isolated from lymphoblasts, providing DNA methylation
patterns of the entire genome for each individual. Several loci displayed hypermethylation in both
BPD patients compared to their unaffected siblings. When the lymphoblast cells were treated with a
therapeutic dose of lithium (1mM), results showed hypomethylation at several loci. Among these, one
locus had been hypermethylated in the BPD cells. This differentially methylated locus was where the
novel lncRNA, LINC00486, was located. Sequencing data has indicated LINC00486 is found in
human chromosome 2 and is flanked by genes TTC27 and LTBP1. A mouse homolog has yet to be
discovered. Three distinct RNAs are predicted to be transcribed from the LINC00486 locus, each of
different lengths and containing different exons.
Non Coding RNA Overview
Recent advantages in genome wide analyses have revealed that roughly 90% of the human genome is
transcribed, yet less than 3% of the genome consists of protein coding genes (Wu et al., 2013). The
remaining genes are transcribed as noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), which resemble mRNA in length and
splicing structures yet do not encode any proteins (Wu et al., 2013). It has been debated whether all of
the ncRNA transcripts are functional due to their low expression levels and low evolutionary
conservation. However, many functional ncRNA have

Patient Satisfaction Is A Driving Force Of Today s Health...
A. Process or Procedure Patient satisfaction is a driving force in today s health care system.
Incorporating the patient in their care will help with the patients healing process as well as
encouraging the patient to be more compliant with their prescribed care. Bedside reporting is a
practice that some organizations have incorporated in their standards of care. The patients care does
not stop when the nurse s shift ends. Therefore, it is important for the patient s information to be
conveyed accurately to the oncoming nurse. Conducting shift reports at the bedside allows the
oncoming nurse to both visualize and interact with the patient much sooner than if the nurse had
received report in another manner. Furthermore, bedside reporting allows the patient to interact with
both nurses; and allows them to see that their care is being properly managed. This type of reporting
also allows the oncoming nurse to ask questions, as other methods of shift reporting limits the
oncoming nurse from interacting and asking questions of the off going nurse. Patient satisfaction as
well as accurate transfer of information and patient safety is a crucial part in providing quality patient
care. A1. Discussion of Process or Procedure Audio recorded shift reporting has been the standard for
a shift to shift report for some time now. This recording is prepared by the off going nurse and
includes demographics of the patient such as history, reason for admission, test results, and

Sonnets In Shakespeare s Sonnets
Sonnets are known for its rigid format and being the hoard of poets flowery love confessions and
tormenting heartache. While most poets generally stick to that cliche topic of love and the traditional
English or Petrarchan structures, sonnets are not defined by these archetypal features. Both
Shakespeare s My mistress eyes are... and Collins s Sonnet satirically defy those typical sonnets.
However both poems differ, as Shakespeare follows the standard English sonnet style and parodies the
classic subject of love to show how ridiculous and idealistic love sonnets can be; while Collins on the
other hand, breaks free from those stern sonnet rules to joke about the strictness of sonnet structures to
define typical sonnet rules.
Shakespeare follows the English style of sonnets, while Collins partially follows the Petrarchan style.
Both sonnets include fourteen lines, a defining feature of the sonnet form. My mistress eyes are...
consists of three quatrains that describes his argument on love cliches, and ends with a couplet, the
turning point of English sonnets. The sonnet consists of ten syllables each line, adhering to the rhythm
of the iambic pentameter rule. Shakespeare s sonnet follows the usual rhyme scheme of an English
sonnet: abab cdcd efef gg. Conversely, Collins attempts to stray from the general sonnet principles in
contrast with Shakespeare. Sonnet loosely follows the Petrarchan style, as the lines are grouped into
one octave, a stanza of eight lines, and one sestet, a stanza of six lines, in structure. Collins s Sonnet
does not have a rhyme scheme, nor does the poem follow iambic pentameter. His sonnet does,
however, present his turn in the beginning of the sestet, a recurrent feature of a Petrarchan sonnet.
Collins begins poking fun at English sonnets in the octave, but then turns to joke at Petrarchan forms.
Both sonnets have a lighthearted, humorous tone, yet the poems parody the classic styles of sonnets in
different ways.
Shakespeare expresses his love for his mistress through metaphors, typical of sonnets about love.
However, those comparisons describe his poor mistress through unpleasant ways, in distinct to typical
love sonnets. Poets usually describe the beauty of their lover through

People Should Follow the Code of the West, Talk Less; Say...
The code of the west is things to live by, they were never actually written down, but they were
something that everyone in the west seemed to live by. It was a different time that these people lived
in and a lot of the laws that they lived by are not even considered in today s society. One of the laws
that I believe should people should always follow is talk less, say more. This is something that means
a lot to me and the world that I live, and grew up in. This is a code that does affect you throughout
your whole life and never loses meaning, no matter how young or old you are. Talk less; say more is
the most important and the most meaningful rule in the codes of the west. This code, talk less; say
more, is one that still really ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the game of basketball this is a big one. When someone falls and you help them up it says a lot
about who you are as a person, yet if they fall and you say something to them that could be very rude,
you are degrading yourself with the words that you have said. Players like this are known and people
know them as the players that are very unrespectable and rude. The more they say the more they are
hated and the less that people say the more they mean. Respect is something that is earned and it is not
earned through the things that you say, but the things that you do. If you are trying to earn someone s
respect I guarantee you that if you just talked to them all of the time they would not like for that. You
have to prove it through the things that you do and the ways that you act. This was a big thing back in
the west. If a new guy came to town he did not earn respect through all of the people he talked to and
the stories that he told, because those were just stories. He had to earn it by what he did. This is where
actions really speak louder than words. Respect is also something that everyone in life is looking for,
whether they know it or not and sometimes they think they have done everything to deserve it, when
really they have not done the most important thing; prove they can follow up and what they say. You
have to be able to back up all of the words that come out of your mouth with actions because there is
just talking about doing something and then there is

Using the Plays “Much Ado About Nothing” and “the Rover”,...
Using the plays Much Ado About Nothing and The Rover , discuss and compare each play s treatment
of women.
The Renaissance comedy, Much Ado About Nothing , written by Shakespeare in 1600 during the
Elizabethan era, addresses male inconstancy and female persecution; how women are controlled by
the prevailing patriarchal system. Hero, the conventional heroine, is a shrinking violet , who suffers
character assassination through male actions. The Rover , written in 1677 for the Restoration society
of Charles II where men were hedonistic, uncommitted and brimming with bravado, also explores
gender conflicts. However playwright, Aphra Behn, in this Restoration comedy, critically comments
on male attitudes, and through female rebellion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hypocritically he assumes the role of victim, accusing her of leaving a cob web door to catch flies .
However Behn offers the audience a scintilla of justification from this attempted rape, Wilmore
blaming the cursed sack he has drunken which might excuse him from the Restoration crowd, if not
later audiences.
Worse is to come in 4/2 when the masked Florinda hides in Blunt s lodgings from her brother. While
Wilmore is afforded drunken stupor as an excuse, Blunt s actions are motivated by misogynistic
revenge. Blunt s hatred for Lucetta the prostitute turns Florinda into an opportunity to wreak his
righteous revenge on womankind . Frederick s involvement also implicates the cavaliers behaviour as
he joins Blunt. Even Belvile s honourable status is doubted, Frederick referring to him as a cormorant
at whore and bacon . It is unsurprising that 18th century productions censored Blunt s most vicious
imagery to protect public tastes. The atmosphere becomes graver still as Florinda s brother ironically
wins the lottery using the length of their swords; an explicit phallic connotation, to take Florinda first.
Even the Restoration audience recognises Behn challenging male hypocrisies, by creating a situation
where the patriarchal protector himself is responsible for the loss of female virtue. The swiftness with
which Florinda accepts their apologies I heartily forgive you all provides the males, especially Blunt,
with undeserving

Research Outline Gay Marriage Essay
Introduction The Controversy
Same sex marriage permits couples of the same gender to enter legally recognized marriages and
provides them with the same legal rights as couples in heterosexual relationships (Same Sex
Marriage). Opponents of same sex marriage argue that the institution of marriage should apply to only
unions between one man and one woman. Allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry, they say,
undermines the institution of marriage (Same Sex Marriage).
Where the Issue Stands Today
In America, six states plus D.C. allow same sex couples to marry, three more respect marriages of
same sex couples validly preformed in other states, eight provide civil unions or comprehensive
domestic partnerships, and three more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Federal Marriage Amendment
Since 2002 opponents of same sex marriage have worked to pass a Federal Marriage Amendment
(FMA) to the U.S. Constitution. This amendment would define marriage as a union between one man
and one woman. It has been introduced to the U.S. Congress in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2008 but has
failed to gain enough support to pass (Same Sex Marriage)
Proposition 8
On June 16, 2008, California began allowing same sex couples to receive marriage licenses. But on
November 4 of that year, Proposition 8 passed, again banning same sex marriage (Same Sex
Marriage).
California s Proposition 8, which sought to ban same sex marriage, is an attempt to suppress personal
rights and force religious beliefs and codes of behavior on everyone, including non believers. Narrow
minded interpretations of faith often have led to self righteousness and oppression of others, and they
are again on the rise (Stone).
One might argue that Proposition 8 discriminates against gays and lesbians in violation of the Equal
Protection Clause. One might argue that Proposition 8 unconstitutionally limits the fundamental right
to marry. One might argue that Proposition 8 violates the separation of church and state (Stone).
Issue 2: Domestic Partnership and Civil Unions v. Marriage
Difference in Rights
The right to marry is not just about the actual legal ceremony, but an equal right to the extensive list of
legal protections awarded to married couples. These benefits

3.1 Demographics
3.1.1 Population
We define the luxury outbound market as the population of Chinese citizens who owns 10 millions
RMB (approx. 1.5 million U.S Dollar) total assets that includes real estate, stock, investment and art
collection. In 2011, the 10.3 GDP growth rate of China helped to rise the value of real estate heavily
which resulted in 1.02 million of multimillionaires. Besides, there are 60,000 billionaires and 4000
multibillionaires. And the population of Chinese millionaires is expected to grow steadily by a rate
between 7.3 and 9.7%. However, it should also be noticeable that only 1 of every 1400 Chinese is
qualified to be named by the multimillionaire which is obliviously very rare indeed.
3.1.2 Geographic Distribution
The luxury outbound potential clients mainly concentrates in Beijing and Shanghai, According to the
Hurun Wealth Report 2011, Beijing and Shanghai owned almost one thirds of the riches. Besides, it
also tends that the costal area weights heavily which captured almost 72.2% of the total.
3.1.3 Age and Gender
In general, the average age of Chinese multimillionaires, billionaires, and multibillionaires are 39
years old, 42 years old, and 48 years old, respectively. And general male to female ratios tends to be

Girls Should Not Play A Boy Sport
Girls just want to play too
Society believes that girls should not play a boy sport. Men and women don t compete directly in most
sports because of physiological differences, but auto racing is among the few where size and strength
matter less and where men and women match wits and grit without any compensating allowances.
(Brady and Ryan, 2013) Anybody should be able to participate in any activity whether it is just for one
gender. The same way boys are allowed to play on a girls team, girls should be able to do the same.
First reason is cheerleading originally was not suppose to be a same sex sport. Secondly, girls can do
just as much as boys can. Thirdly, how can any sport be categorize by a boy or girl sport; if it is
something that either gender is good at, then they should be able to play it.
The reason girls should be allowed to play on a boys sport is because of cheerleading. Cheerleading is
labeled as a girl sport and if a boy is on the team most of the time he is labeled gay or he has a lot of
feminine ways. That is the same as saying that wrestling is an all boy sport and if the girls on there are
playing then they are either gay or have manly ways. Which technically is not always true. If boys are
allowed to play the most popular sport there is out there than girls should be able to play on an
actually football team instead of labeling it powder puff. Sports that are just like a boys team are
labeled completely different, in which they should all come

Security Enforcement And Violence Within Schools
Introduction
Throughout the 1990s crime and violence within schools had significantly increased. The increasing
presence of school shootings became a great cause for concern for parents, students, and school staff.
To respond to this significantly increasing problem within schools, local police departments partnered
with schools to implement school resource officers onto campuses to promote safety within schools.
The research question How does the presence of security enforcement in schools affect students
involvement in crime and violence within schools will determine the overall effect school resource
officers have within schools. It will determine how their presence and increase security measures
within schools truly impact students.
Thesis Statement
To determine how the presence of security enforcement in schools affects student s involvement in
crime and violence, this paper will examine the roles of various security enforcement, the size,
location, and demographics of schools with and without security enforcement, the communication and
relationships between schools and security enforcement, and the implementation of additional
security.
History of Security Enforcement Officers In the 1990 s the number of school shootings and the overall
increase of crime and violence taking place within schools was cause for action to ensure the safety of
students. There was an overwhelming majority of staff and students who did not feel safe at school
(Mckenna Pollock, 2014).

Spider Man Stan Lee Quotes
Quote: With great power comes great responsibility. That quote came from the Spider Man comic
books but is most famous for the movie Spider Man in 2002. But it has quite a bit of meaning. It is
telling you that if you have power over something you need responsibility to control that power. When
Stan Lee made Spider Man he knew he would have to have a special quote that would run through the
whole series. When Stan Lee first started making the comics into what he wanted to see, and people
loved it! Stan Lee completely changed the way comics were made, I guess you could say that Stan Lee
could have changed the world too. When Stan Lee made the comics and then the movies about his
heroes, it gave people inspiration to be able to do things they were to scared or they thought were not
possible before. Just about everywhere you look you see something from marvel something about his
heroes. I believe that Stan Lee changed the way people saw the world. And maybe how people saw
each other. Stan Lee changed the world with his heroes, and he can change you too.

that he really liked. Maybe the early reading influenced his career in making comic books later in life.

Counselors must gain awareness, knowledge, and skills in counseling diverse groups of clients (Corey,
Corey, Corey, 2014). Some ways to become culturally competent include, but are not limited to,
respecting religious and spiritual beliefs as well as family roles; understanding the impact of adverse
social and environmental factors when assessing problems and providing interventions; and providing
group members with the expectations of the group process (Corey, Corey, Corey, 2014). In order to
create a respectful, productive, and beneficial group some ways to become a more culturally
competent counselor include continuing to self reflect on my own cultural identity, values, beliefs, and
biases; read about, practice and implement group interventions that have been shown to be effective
with different cultural groups; gain supervision when needed; and avoid imposing my own personal
worldview onto the group members (Corey, Corey, Corey, 2014). By doing these things as well as
seeking out opportunities to learn more about the various cultures that I will be working with can help

Digital Technology Fundamentally Changed The Nature Of...

Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of diplomacy or are
they simply new means to pursuing the same ends?
Word count:
Intro:
This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international system still
dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several interrelated levels. Whilst
complex policy agendas still demand a central, if changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules
and roles associated with diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit
for purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who is or should be
involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal with new policy challenges need
to be urgently addressed. This applies to international organizations as well as the institutions of
national diplomacy and offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar
claim that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a central role
but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment. Against this background, a
central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a set of processes continues to be of central
importance to the global policy milieu and that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated.

New Construction And Major Renovations Rating System
The LEED 2009:v3 for New Construction and Major Renovations rating system is comprised of 7
categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources,
Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovation in Design, and Regional Priority. Within these categories
are a total of 8 prerequisites and 49 credits. All the prerequisites require mandatory compliance for
LEED certification, and do not award points. The 49 credits, for which the point system is weighted to
account for the environmental impact of the credit, award up to a total of 100 base points and 10
bonus points (the bonus points can be earned in The Innovation in Design and the Regional Priority
categories). By comparison, the LEED 2012:v4 for New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

analysis in reference to the energy and water related systems. The documentation for this credit must
demonstrate how the process influenced the design outcome. 2) Location and Transportation (LT). The
Location and Transportation category was newly introduced in the v4 rating system, incorporating
some of the credits previously found in the Sustainable Sites category, and some credits adopted from
the LEED for Neighborhood Development rating system, along with some new credits. An alternative
compliance path for earning all 16 points in this category is to locate the project in a LEED for
Neighborhood Development location. i. Credit: Sensitive Land Protection. The credit title renamed

avoids the development of sensitive land. ii. Credit: High Priority Site. This new credit in the v4 is
essentially an expansion upon the Brownfield Redevelopment credit in the Sustainable Sites category
of LEED NC v3. In addition to developing a brownfield site, this v4 credit also awards 2 points for
locating the project on a site with major development constraints, one of the options being an infill
location within a historic district. iii. Credit: Surrounding Density

Bruno Is Not Dead
ONE
Bruno is not dead. His voice still rings in my head, his scent of cacao and dirt still linger in my nose. I
wish I could touch him and wrap my arms around torso, and tell him how sorry I am. But I cannot, I
am a coward. I am afraid of looking at my son. I know that he is still around, I can feel him following
me. I can feel his cold stare lurking behind me, I can feel the guilt he put upon me.
Whenever you lose something, a necklace, your keys or whatever. Everyone tells you to look in the
last place you saw it. You search everywhere, but without luck it is nowhere. The last place I was able
to talk to Bruno was in my office, where I now spend the last of my crippling days.
Earlier this month I decided that there was something wrong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Bruno s eyes looked empty like soulless pits of gray, his body grew thinner in fact so did his face. His
skin looked sick and pale and his head was still bald. Looking at him made me weak.
Bruno almost looked like a Jew.
TWO
Every time I visited the gas chambers there Bruno sat, staring at me almost as if he wanted to tell me
something. Today, I worked up the courage to go up to Bruno and he said no words.
He just stared at me, with fear in his eyes. He looked at me the way my soldiers looked at me. He said
nothing but his voice continued to occupy my thoughts.
Swallowing the giant lump in my throat, I invited him into the house. When we did arrive Bruno went
inside of the house and grabbed a blanket he placed it on the ground in the garden and he sat down, he
patted the spot next to his inviting me to sit down.
We lied down there for hours until it grew dark, Bruno refused to speak the whole time we were there
he would point out clouds and constellations but no words. We spent an hour in silence just staring at
the moon. Bruno pointed at a shooting star. Did you make a wish? I asked. He nodded his head.
What did you wish for?
He shook his head and gave a cheeky smile.

King Arthur Purple Symbolism In Medieval Literature
Heraldry is a type of visual language that was used as a means to distinguish between knights in
armor. This ancient language was unique to each knight or family due to the independent creation of
each blazon. King Arthur, son of King Uther Pendragon, is a transcendent mythological figure that
rules the over the kingdom of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. However, despite Arthur s
significance in medieval literature the heraldic symbols present on his flag are debatable. Firstly,
Purple symbolizes royalty or sovereignty. Due to Arthur s sovereign status as king of Camelot one
may conclude that the color of his flag would be purple. Finally, the hawk signifies an individual s
inability to rest until a particular objective is achieved.

In class, we have discussed the challenges that are faced by economic development planners. SWOT
analysis must be continuously updated as conditions change in the city and region. Economic
development planners must be aware of what skills and education local citizens have so that sustained
development can occur without wasting tax payer funds. In the case of Salt Lake City, planners have
ben able to leverage the skilled workforce being educated at institutions like Brigham Young
University (BYU) and the University of Utah, to attract high tech jobs. While the federal government
has abandoned federal economic development programs, it is still an essential element for states and

Political Philosophy Of Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century philosopher who is regarded as one of the forefathers of modern
political philosophy was born on April 5, 1588 in Westport, near Malmesbury, Wiltshire in England.
The unique mind of Thomas Hobbes found profound interest in disciplines like geometry, physics and
math, and studied at Magdalen Hall in Oxford. Hobbes is popularly known for his masterpiece The
Leviathan, his book that was published in the year of 1651 . Hobbes is well known for being an atheist
and for the fruition of what we now know as the social contract theory which was the method of
justifying political principles or arrangements by appeal to the agreement that would be made among
suitably situated rational, free, and equal persons (Hobbes, 1651). He is infamous for having used the
social contract method to arrive at the astounding conclusion that we ought to submit to the authority
of an undivided and unlimited sovereign power (Hobbes 1651) . Though Hobbes had formed
ideologies and applicable viewpoints on both moral and political philosophy, his conceptualization of
moral philosophy has been less influential than his political philosophy, because the theory was rather
ambivalent for the content to be agreed upon by the general public of the 17th Century. Hobbes had
many arguments of why human beings disobey the law.
One argument that Hobbes uses to illustrate his generalized idea of man is metaphysical: the theory
that only bodies in motion are real and

Violence In The Shelter And The Monsters On Maple Street
Is violence truly the only way to solve our problems? Growing up in a hood , if something didn t go
the way a person wanted it to, they would resort to violence causing a commotion until the problem
was solved. This shows how quick people would be willing to succumb to violence to get what they
desire. The Shelter and The Monsters on Maple Street , directed by Rod Serling are perfect examples
of how we resort to violence in order to resolve our problems. The people of Maple Street resorted to
violence by attacking each other throughout the episode and the neighbors in The Shelter resorted to
breaking down the shelter door in order to get in. Both episodes teach us that in times of danger,
human survival instincts kick in causing us to resort to violence and diminish any relationships we
may have.
For civilization to survive the human race has to remain civilized are words stated by the director of
The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling. His words establish the goal for individuals to obtain the necessary
skills to achieve a peaceful and harmonious society. Unlike reality, people get in a quandary when they
are faced with a situation that threatens their existence. The episode The Shelter is a perfect example
of this idea. At first, the townspeople respect the doctor of the neighborhood, Dr. Bill Stockton.
However, everything is ruined by the fear of a possible attack. Later, they find out there is not an
actual attack, but by then, relationships and trusts are broken. No matter how much the people desired
to recreate their old relations, Dr. Stockton replies I don t think we know what normal is, I thought I
did once. I don t anymore. Like in our daily life, the society that we live in looks like a perfect place
except in times of danger. Even for a little disagreement, people accuse another without hesitation. A
momentary anger lets people make irrecoverable mistakes and when they realize their faults, they
want to go back and fix it. Thus, actually all this aggression is a normal behavior, but the norms that
simulated as normal are the level that people need to achieve. If people perceive the difference
between what is normal and what is supposed to be normal and make concessions to their

Living With Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Essay
Can you imagine walking down the street passing a building, and not being able to go on your way

have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). People that have OCD find it hard to lead normal lives.

The PET scans show that patients that have OCD show a change in the striatum area of the brain when
behavioral therapy and medication are given. Maybe with this new information on the cause of OCD,
physicians may be able to treat it easier and with greater success. Commonality of OCD among the
population of the United States does not seem substantial when compared to other illnesses. About 3.3
million people in the U.S. between the ages of 18 54 have OCD in a given year. (NIMH 2000.) This
translates into roughly 2.3 percent of the population. Studies show that OCD affects women and men
about equally. The ratio of men to women with OCD not being that significant in either direction to
give it solely to one gender. This is unusual because most illnesses tend to favor one gender or the
other. Typically OCD starts in early adolescence, but is written of by parents as abnormal or unusual
behavior and the thought that the child will grow out of it. At least one third of the cases of adult OCD
began in childhood. This shows if caught soon enough and treated OCD might not have been a life
long battle for some clients. In 1990 the U.S. paid out a total of 8.4 million dollars for treatment of
clients with OCD. This was nearly 6 percent of the total mental health bill of 148 billion dollars.
(NIMH 2000.) OCD doesn t just affect the adult population either. Approximately one million children

Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde
The novel The Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is influenced by some various factors. One of
the factors that portray Robert Louis Stevenson s idea about the duality of man s nature is Sigmund
Freud s psychological theory. Freud s tells human behavior is the consequence of one s id, ego and
superego. He says id part is an important part of our personality. For example, the pleasure of doing
whatever we want to like eating or even killing with no consideration of the situation is our id part of
personality. Using this theory, Stevenson portrays a character Dr. Jekyll that is a superego or the outer

Substance Abuse And Addiction
Based on our readings and my understanding some of the cause(s) of substance abuse and addiction
have many factors that can play a key role. For example our text book points out that some people
want to escape their reality, or numb their emotional pain. It can also be social pressure from peers or
our own upbringing (Doweiko 2015). I believe we as a society should look at the individual and not
just the problem. Looking at ones soul and finding the root cause why the person abuses or has
become addicted to a substance or substances is a very important start of the journey of sobriety. We
cannot brush off the fact somewhere the soul lacks something that the substance is fulfilling or once

Death and life threatening illnesses is not a subject that one likes to talk about. It is more complex,

I will be talking about the potential consequences that the deceased family must deal with when a will

Aspects of a Good Game
Games have been enjoyed for generations, whether they are board games, computer games or console
games. However, to succeed in making a good game, it must be enjoyable and must include many
different aspects. Through researching, several of the most common and important aspects that a game
should have to include to be a good game have been found. The most regularly mentioned aspects of
what makes a good game are:
Challenge/Reward
Freedom
Experience
Place/Feel
Story
Challenge/Reward
Challenge should be implemented in every game to make it more exciting and engage the player more.
They should not be impossible although should be difficult enough to make the player think and
construct a strategy or method to surpass them. Challenge should often come with a reward for
completing them so that the player will feel more motivated to complete them.
Rather than just points, money etc. as rewards; rewards such as new abilities, a new part of the map to
explore, a new item or even a new task can be given. These rewards are motivating and also help to
keep the player enjoying the game through side quests/challenges, instead of just playing the game to
win.
Freedom
Freedom includes the range of different choices and paths that can be made to complete an objective.
For example, going through the front door can attract a lot of attention while the side door will not.
You can choose whether you want a huge gunfight between you and the enemy or rather take a
stealthy approach.

The idea that Obama must preserve his legacy is something that is not new to US Presidents. Looking
at Obama s first term in office is important because it sets up his second term where he truly starts
looking at Cuba and this idea of normalizing relations starts to take shape. The strength of Obama s
political agenda during his first term was wavering and Obama was truly focused on domestic issues
and domestic reforms following the Bush Administration. Obama was mainly focused on ending the
Iraq War and handling the bailouts and other reforms that got implemented as soon as he entered
office. Foreign policy, for the most part, was pushed to the back burner for Obama s first term. Obama
ran on domestic reform and that is what he tried to do. The Arab Spring was an event which made
Obama look more into foreign policy and he had deal with the fallout of that towards the end of his
first term and the beginning of his second one. Arab Spring and Obama s handling of it made his first
term tricky and challenging. Obama s first term in office was marked by political, economic, and

  • 3. Neuropathic Ulcers Neuropathic Ulcers Homework 1. 1. Why does a high blood glucose level cause tissue damage? There are a few different theories of why hyperglycemia cause tissue damage. One cause is caused by the increase in microvascular pressures from the hemodynamic changes. It also changes RBC to become less deformable making it harder to release oxygen, and more adhesive. The RBC will stick to each other and to the capillary walls. Similar to RBC s, platelets become more adhesive, making capillary walls thicker. The decrease in lumen size causes the increase in microvascular pressure. Hyperglycemia also causes glucose to bind to protein forming glycosylate proteins , causing tissue damage. 2. 2. • 4. What Is Tooth Decay In The 50 s By examining three of the commercials from the 1950s, we can conclude what the initial perceived dental problem was in the era. In each of the commercials I analyzed, the issue of tooth decay was mentioned repeatedly. I examined the 1956 Pepsodent commercial, the 1950s Colgate Dental Cream commercial, and the 1956 Crest commercial. The competing companies all had a similar substantive characteristic in that they used science and scientific terms to sway their consumers. In the particular situation of tooth decay, all of the rhetors chose science and special terminology that would cause a response in their audience. It is hard to argue against science after all. Beginning with the 1956 Pepsodent commercial we see that the scientific formula is used but not explained. According to the cartoon images in the commercial, I.M.P. cleans the teeth and removes the yellow stains, while Irium fights tooth decay. The science behind these products in the toothpaste formula is not mentioned. However, the audience can see the cause and effect in relation to those two ingredients. By using Pepsodent and its ... The dentist repeatedly stated that Colgate Dental Cream proved with scientific evidence that it stops tooth decay best. The dentist continues to say that no other toothpaste has proved so completely with dental research that Colgate stops tooth decay and bad breath. Again, just like the Pepsodent commercial, we see that scientific formula (though we have not been told how or with what) Colgate leads to physical attraction and kissing. In this commercial, an explanation of anything is not needed, because there is a supposed trusted professional telling the audience that the evidence exists. • 6. A Constellation Of Vital Phenomena Constellation of Vital Phenomena In a Constellation of Vital Phenomena the final chapter of the book contains both joy and tragedy. Ultimately, the message of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena is that love trumps all. Love trumps hate, the interior ministry, starvation, and even death. The ending brings both sorrow and the hope for humanity to heal and forgive. The final chapter of the book was as profound but also delicately intricate as the rest of the novel. The final chapter of the book conveyed within the context a theme of joy and tragedy. The message of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena isn t just a story of hope or tragedy. The storyline of the novel was a realistic ending for the well developed characters. The novel contained an abundance of joy because a novel that is all dark and depressing is not accurate to reality. In times of trouble, people use humor to relax and understand their struggles. • 7. My Auntie Yumi s House Was A Place Of Refuge, My Favorite... My Auntie Yumi s house was a place of refuge, my favorite place. My siblings and I spent a lot of time there in the years our parents despised each other. We escaped my drunk, avoidant father for the shade of the century old plumeria tree in Auntie Yumi s front yard. We recoiled from my mother s violent, hate filled outbursts by retreating to Auntie Yumi s kitchen, where the screenless windows welcomed cool breezes and feather light drizzle, and the smell of the mosquito punk smoldering under the kitchen table was like a balm to our bruised minds. Nearly half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce, but there s still a lot of stigma surrounding post divorce parents and children. My parents prolonged their tumultuous relationship in a misguided attempt to maintain a stable environment for their children, but our home life was anything but stable. This resulted in my siblings and me living in an unhealthy environment that caused more trauma than a divorce would have. It was my childhood mentor who helped me come to grips with the guilt and shame associated with my parents breakup and embrace a different, but healthier, family dynamic. My Auntie Yumi, my other mother, is my best friend s mom. Petite, with sparkling upturned eyes, a lilting Japanese accent, coarse graying hair cut short, and skin turned a dark caramel by days working in the garden and tending to the animals on her little homestead, she is a life long learner who in her forties picked up ... • 8. Gsk 3 Regulates Dna Methylation Gsk 3 Regulates DNA Methylation Gsk 3 activity has been observed to regulate DNA methylation through altered expression of DNA methyltransferase Dnmt3a2. This was confirmed by knocking out both Gsk 3 isoforms (Gsk 3 DKO) in mouse ESCs, resulting in the reduction of DNA methylation and altered gene expression (Meredith et al., 2015; Popkie et al., 2010). Lithium mimics this reduced Gsk 3 activity in two ways: direct inhibition and indirect inhibition by increasing inhibitory phosphorylation of Gsk 3 (Jope, 2003). These two effects work in synergy to influence Gsk 3 regulated functions. Interestingly, lithium is commonly used as a mood stabilizer treatment for patients with bipolar disorder (BPD) (Phiel, 2001). The exact mechanism behind how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Methyl seq was performed on genomic DNA isolated from lymphoblasts, providing DNA methylation patterns of the entire genome for each individual. Several loci displayed hypermethylation in both BPD patients compared to their unaffected siblings. When the lymphoblast cells were treated with a therapeutic dose of lithium (1mM), results showed hypomethylation at several loci. Among these, one locus had been hypermethylated in the BPD cells. This differentially methylated locus was where the novel lncRNA, LINC00486, was located. Sequencing data has indicated LINC00486 is found in human chromosome 2 and is flanked by genes TTC27 and LTBP1. A mouse homolog has yet to be discovered. Three distinct RNAs are predicted to be transcribed from the LINC00486 locus, each of different lengths and containing different exons. Non Coding RNA Overview Recent advantages in genome wide analyses have revealed that roughly 90% of the human genome is transcribed, yet less than 3% of the genome consists of protein coding genes (Wu et al., 2013). The remaining genes are transcribed as noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), which resemble mRNA in length and splicing structures yet do not encode any proteins (Wu et al., 2013). It has been debated whether all of the ncRNA transcripts are functional due to their low expression levels and low evolutionary conservation. However, many functional ncRNA have ... Incorporating the patient in their care will help with the patients healing process as well as encouraging the patient to be more compliant with their prescribed care. Bedside reporting is a practice that some organizations have incorporated in their standards of care. The patients care does not stop when the nurse s shift ends. Therefore, it is important for the patient s information to be conveyed accurately to the oncoming nurse. Conducting shift reports at the bedside allows the oncoming nurse to both visualize and interact with the patient much sooner than if the nurse had received report in another manner. Furthermore, bedside reporting allows the patient to interact with both nurses; and allows them to see that their care is being properly managed. This type of reporting also allows the oncoming nurse to ask questions, as other methods of shift reporting limits the oncoming nurse from interacting and asking questions of the off going nurse. Patient satisfaction as well as accurate transfer of information and patient safety is a crucial part in providing quality patient care. A1. • 10. Sonnets In Shakespeare s Sonnets Sonnets are known for its rigid format and being the hoard of poets flowery love confessions and tormenting heartache. While most poets generally stick to that cliche topic of love and the traditional English or Petrarchan structures, sonnets are not defined by these archetypal features. Both Shakespeare s My mistress eyes are... and Collins s Sonnet satirically defy those typical sonnets. However both poems differ, as Shakespeare follows the standard English sonnet style and parodies the classic subject of love to show how ridiculous and idealistic love sonnets can be; while Collins on the other hand, breaks free from those stern sonnet rules to joke about the strictness of sonnet structures to define typical sonnet rules. Shakespeare follows the English style of sonnets, while Collins partially follows the Petrarchan style. Both sonnets include fourteen lines, a defining feature of the sonnet form. My mistress eyes are... consists of three quatrains that describes his argument on love cliches, and ends with a couplet, the turning point of English sonnets. The sonnet consists of ten syllables each line, adhering to the rhythm of the iambic pentameter rule. Shakespeare s sonnet follows the usual rhyme scheme of an English sonnet: abab cdcd efef gg. Conversely, Collins attempts to stray from the general sonnet principles in contrast with Shakespeare. Sonnet loosely follows the Petrarchan style, as the lines are grouped into one octave, a stanza of eight lines, and one sestet, a stanza of six lines, in structure. Collins s Sonnet does not have a rhyme scheme, nor does the poem follow iambic pentameter. His sonnet does, however, present his turn in the beginning of the sestet, a recurrent feature of a Petrarchan sonnet. Collins begins poking fun at English sonnets in the octave, but then turns to joke at Petrarchan forms. Both sonnets have a lighthearted, humorous tone, yet the poems parody the classic styles of sonnets in different ways. Shakespeare expresses his love for his mistress through metaphors, typical of sonnets about love. However, those comparisons describe his poor mistress through unpleasant ways, in distinct to typical love sonnets. Poets usually describe the beauty of their lover through ... Worse is to come in 4/2 when the masked Florinda hides in Blunt s lodgings from her brother. Men and women don t compete directly in most sports because of physiological differences, but auto racing is among the few where size and strength matter less and where men and women match wits and grit without any compensating allowances. (Brady and Ryan, 2013) Anybody should be able to participate in any activity whether it is just for one gender. The same way boys are allowed to play on a girls team, girls should be able to do the same. First reason is cheerleading originally was not suppose to be a same sex sport. Secondly, girls can do just as much as boys can. Thirdly, how can any sport be categorize by a boy or girl sport; if it is something that either gender is good at, then they should be able to play it. The reason girls should be allowed to play on a boys sport is because of cheerleading. Cheerleading is labeled as a girl sport and if a boy is on the team most of the time he is labeled gay or he has a lot of feminine ways. That is the same as saying that wrestling is an all boy sport and if the girls on there are playing then they are either gay or have manly ways. Which technically is not always true. Name: Jennifer Diane Ulloa SOAS ID: 643951 Course: Global Diplomatic Studies and Practice Tutor: Goitom Gebreluel Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of diplomacy or are they simply new means to pursuing the same ends? Word count: Intro: This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international system still dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several interrelated levels. Whilst complex policy agendas still demand a central, if changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules and roles associated with diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit for purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who is or should be involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal with new policy challenges need to be urgently addressed. This applies to international organizations as well as the institutions of national diplomacy and offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar claim that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a central role but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment. Against this background, a central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a set of processes continues to be of central importance to the global policy milieu and that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated. ... • 28. Political Philosophy Of Thomas Hobbes Thomas Hobbes Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century philosopher who is regarded as one of the forefathers of modern political philosophy was born on April 5, 1588 in Westport, near Malmesbury, Wiltshire in England. The unique mind of Thomas Hobbes found profound interest in disciplines like geometry, physics and math, and studied at Magdalen Hall in Oxford. Hobbes is popularly known for his masterpiece The Leviathan, his book that was published in the year of 1651 . Hobbes is well known for being an atheist and for the fruition of what we now know as the social contract theory which was the method of justifying political principles or arrangements by appeal to the agreement that would be made among suitably situated rational, free, and equal persons (Hobbes, 1651). He is infamous for having used the social contract method to arrive at the astounding conclusion that we ought to submit to the authority of an undivided and unlimited sovereign power (Hobbes 1651) . Though Hobbes had formed ideologies and applicable viewpoints on both moral and political philosophy, his conceptualization of moral philosophy has been less influential than his political philosophy, because the theory was rather ambivalent for the content to be agreed upon by the general public of the 17th Century. Hobbes had many arguments of why human beings disobey the law. One argument that Hobbes uses to illustrate his generalized idea of man is metaphysical: the theory that only bodies in motion are real and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Violence In The Shelter And The Monsters On Maple Street Is violence truly the only way to solve our problems? Growing up in a hood , if something didn t go the way a person wanted it to, they would resort to violence causing a commotion until the problem was solved. This shows how quick people would be willing to succumb to violence to get what they desire. The Shelter and The Monsters on Maple Street , directed by Rod Serling are perfect examples of how we resort to violence in order to resolve our problems. The people of Maple Street resorted to violence by attacking each other throughout the episode and the neighbors in The Shelter resorted to breaking down the shelter door in order to get in. Both episodes teach us that in times of danger, human survival instincts kick in causing us to resort to violence and diminish any relationships we may have. For civilization to survive the human race has to remain civilized are words stated by the director of The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling. His words establish the goal for individuals to obtain the necessary skills to achieve a peaceful and harmonious society. Unlike reality, people get in a quandary when they are faced with a situation that threatens their existence. The episode The Shelter is a perfect example of this idea. At first, the townspeople respect the doctor of the neighborhood, Dr. Bill Stockton. However, everything is ruined by the fear of a possible attack. Later, they find out there is not an actual attack, but by then, relationships and trusts are broken. No matter how much the people desired to recreate their old relations, Dr. Stockton replies I don t think we know what normal is, I thought I did once. I don t anymore. Like in our daily life, the society that we live in looks like a perfect place except in times of danger. Even for a little disagreement, people accuse another without hesitation. A momentary anger lets people make irrecoverable mistakes and when they realize their faults, they want to go back and fix it. Thus, actually all this aggression is a normal behavior, but the norms that simulated as normal are the level that people need to achieve. If people perceive the difference between what is normal and what is supposed to be normal and make concessions to their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The PET scans show that patients that have OCD show a change in the striatum area of the brain when behavioral therapy and medication are given. Maybe with this new information on the cause of OCD, physicians may be able to treat it easier and with greater success. Commonality of OCD among the population of the United States does not seem substantial when compared to other illnesses. About 3.3 million people in the U.S. between the ages of 18 54 have OCD in a given year. (NIMH 2000.) This translates into roughly 2.3 percent of the population. Studies show that OCD affects women and men about equally. The ratio of men to women with OCD not being that significant in either direction to give it solely to one gender. This is unusual because most illnesses tend to favor one gender or the other. Typically OCD starts in early adolescence, but is written of by parents as abnormal or unusual behavior and the thought that the child will grow out of it. At least one third of the cases of adult OCD began in childhood. This shows if caught soon enough and treated OCD might not have been a life long battle for some clients. In 1990 the U.S. paid out a total of 8.4 million dollars for treatment of clients with OCD. This was nearly 6 percent of the total mental health bill of 148 billion dollars. (NIMH 2000.) However, to succeed in making a good game, it must be enjoyable and must include many different aspects. Through researching, several of the most common and important aspects that a game should have to include to be a good game have been found. The most regularly mentioned aspects of what makes a good game are: Challenge/Reward Freedom Experience Place/Feel Story Challenge/Reward Challenge should be implemented in every game to make it more exciting and engage the player more. They should not be impossible although should be difficult enough to make the player think and construct a strategy or method to surpass them. Challenge should often come with a reward for completing them so that the player will feel more motivated to complete them. Rather than just points, money etc. as rewards; rewards such as new abilities, a new part of the map to explore, a new item or even a new task can be given. These rewards are motivating and also help to keep the player enjoying the game through side quests/challenges, instead of just playing the game to win. Freedom Freedom includes the range of different choices and paths that can be made to complete an objective. For example, going through the front door can attract a lot of attention while the side door will not. You can choose whether you want a huge gunfight between you and the enemy or rather take a stealthy approach. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
