Food Intake
Food Intake 3 Days Jackie Raynor SCI 220 June 14, 2012 Paula Krause Food Intake 3
Days The purpose of this assignment is to track and display the food choices we make
and the way we eat affects our lifestyle and health. This paper addresses my personal
food intake for the past three days. Next I will compare my food choices with my
WileyPlus profile and determine whether I am maintaining healthy eating habits.
There are foods that a person can eat in order to make sure that the daily required
intake is being made. Sometimes it is really hard for a person like me to make sure I
eat all the foods that I am supposed to so that I can consume all the nutrients that my
body needs in a day. I know I will need to modify my eating... Show more content on

If a person constantly eats too little proteins they can become susceptible to disease, it
can cause a person to develop anemia, dry skin can develop and in women their bones
can become brittle. If a person does not have enough carbohydrates in their diet they
can develop malnutrition which is also called lack of calories. If a person does not
have enough lipids in their diet it can also cause serious health risks. Fat provides
nutrients for the body and supports the body s basic function. Lack of this
macronutrient can cause problems with a person s immune system, skin and vision.
My fiber intake does not meet the requirements of the recommendation for me as
calculated in the iProfile website 100% because my intake was way too low. My
recommended intake for fiber was 64g 112g and my intake was only 44g. My three
day intake of food did not meet the minimum number of servings of foods from each
fiber containing groups. Both fruits and vegetables fell short of the recommended
intake that was required of me. The foods that provided the most fiber in my days
meals were salad, pizza, and corn flakes. The foods that provided the least amount of
fiber were eggs. Trends in my food choice that may affect my fiber intake would be the
places I choose to eat or simply eating out. Changes that I would make among my
vegetables, fruits, meat and meat alternatives and grain choices to increase my fiber
intake would be to eat whole fruits instead of drinking fruit juice,
Ancient Egypt Religion Essay
When we think of ancient civilizations the first one that normally stands out is Ancient
Egypt. The Egyptians were one of the very few that arose to civilization independently,
and accomplished many impressive things along the way. The Egyptian civilization
stretched along the lower reaches of the Nile River in Northeastern Africa. Religion
was at the core of everything that the Egyptians were and they stood firm for what they
believed in. Their religion was based on polytheism, which was the belief of many gods.
The Egyptians had 2000 or more gods or goddess and each community would worship
their own deities (Ancient Egyptian Religion). As a result of their beliefs, the Pharaoh
was seen as the most powerful person in ancient Egyptand oversaw all state religious
activity. What made the Pharaoh so special was that the people recognized that he was
human, and he was subject to human weakness, but they still viewed him as a divine
power of kingship (Religion). The Egyptians believe that the pharaoh was half human
and half god, and would work as an intermediary between the Egyptian people and the
gods (Religion). The Ancient Egyptians also believed that the pharaoh was the sun
god, god Horus. It was believed that when the pharaoh died he would be reunited with
the sun, and a new sun god would rule on Earth (Barrow, Mandy). Death and the
afterlife played almost as an important role in Ancient Egypt as religion. Death was not
seen as a final stage of life, but as a

General
The aviation industry of China began for around half a century. As a developing country,
the economy of China has a massive increase, but the strictly controlled airspace and
complicated regulation limited the growth of China Aviation. Recently, new measures
such as more efficient airspace approval process, have improved the situation and giving
hope that the market will rise. In fact, the market has rapidly increased. As the China
government giving ways to develop the aviation industry, more and more have negotiated
increased capacity with China, Australia is one of them.
In the past 10 years, the demand of travelling between Australia and China keep
increasing at a high rate, especially after 2009 (fig 1) [International Airline Activity Time
Series. 2015]. Due to the rise in demand, major airlines such as Qantas China Eastern
and China Southern have a massive expansion in terms of no. of flights and route
network. With annual passengers of around 850k, China has become a key source
market for Australia. Airports are also trying to attract Chinese travelers. For example, in
Sydney airport every Chinese New Year, Terminal 1 would celebrate with Chinese
Themed declaration, launching simplified Chinese site and deployed Chinese speaking
Ambassadors to assist Chinese customers in Terminal 1. China aviation industry is
absolutely one of the largest and fastest growing economies. (fig 1)

Summary Of Seven Myths Of The Spanish Conquest

Matthew Restall, a Professor of Latin American History, Women s Studies, and
Anthropology at Pennsylvania State University. He also serves the Director of the
university s Latin Studies. Throughout Seven Myths of the Spanish Conquest, he
discusses many false truths that have been passed down through history. For instance, he
discusses, The Myth of Exceptional Men. The Myth of Spanish Army, and The Myth of
Completion. For the sake of time, I will discuss three myths that correlate with class
lectures and serve as the topic of this paper, The Myth of Exceptional Men, The Myth of
the King s Army, and the Myth of the White Conquistador. It should be noted that Restall
speaks to his audience assuring us that his ...his purpose is not to degenerate this
technique of historical writing completely...Nor do I mean to create a narrative in which
individual action is utterly subordinated to the larger structural forces and causes of
social change. (4). He states that his intentions are to react to more than just the works of
Columbus, Pizzaro, and Cortez.
One of the great themes of historical literature over the past five centuries has been the
assessment of the European discovery of the Americas as one of the two greatest events
in human history. (2). A similar, better known pronouncement was penned by Francisco

Shakespeare s Power Of Love And Silence

Introduction to Shakespeare
11/16/15
Shakespeare s Power of Love and Silence Many of Shakespeare s plays emphasize
silence and the lack of language as an important dramatic feature. Particularly, this is in
regards to characterization and the development of the composition s theme. A
character s lack of words may signify the feeling of an emotion that is outside the limits
of human understanding. It may also express that the character experiences a feeling of
intimidation or communicates with defiance. Furthermore, the text of comedies and
tragedies can display silence via the written work in regards to an activity or reaction
that is not represented directly, such as the audience being aware of a character s true
identity while the characters within the play face this absence. There are various
arguments that focus upon the ambiguity of whether a women s silence in Shakespeare
s plays reflects passivity or resistance; the following analysis will argue both. The
female characters of Shakespeare s comedic and tragic plays, specifically Twelfth Night
and Othello, fall silent at the periods in time when their speech would impair the writer s
effort at bringing attention to the social constructions of the seventeenth century. These
moments, which manifest a strategic and vital development, exemplify the most common
stereotype of females that is found within Shakespeare s compositions: all members of
this gender based category should be

How Arthur Conan Doyle Creates an Atmosphere of Mystery and Builds Suspense in
The Speckled Band
In many of Holmes adventures, Conan Doyle used a successful personal formula to
create mystery and build suspense, and The Speckled Band is no exception.
Watson begins the story by stating that he cannot recall any case that represented more
singular features than that of the one he is about to narrate. Despite this rather impressive
beginning, analysis of the other adventures reveals that this is the fairly standard opening
for Conan Doyle.
The reader then learns that The Speckled Band is about the assistance that Holmes
provided to a helpless young woman, by the name of Miss Helen ... Show more content

In Miss Sutherland s case, her stepfather gets away his mischief as the law cannot touch
[him]; knowledge of this case may intrigue the reader into wanting to know whether the
results will also be the same on this occasion.
Helen Stoner then starts her story with only vague details of her dilemma. Her lack of
precision can be said to be deliberate on the part of the author as it gives rise to
questions like Why can t she stand the strain no longer ? How is she being strained?
Who is he who cares for her? Why has she aged so quickly? What is the terror and fear
that makes her shiver? Similarly, Arthur Conan Doyletakes focus to comment on the
clients weary and haggard expression rather than the actual case so as to give as little
mystery solving information as possible but still maintain the readers interest through
arousing their concern for Miss Stoner s situation. This prompts the reader to read on
and find out how Holmes can be of assistance to this woman and help throw a little
light through the dense darkness which surrounds [her] . Miss Stoner s fears [that] are
so vague, suspicions[that] depend entirely on small points, are trivial are a key feature
of Holmes method of solving the case with his deductive reasonings and observations.
He uses this method in many; if not all of his cases as he himself informs us that it has
been a long axiom
Help Raise Awareness Of Down Syndrome
Introduction
What I am doing and why.
The reason behind my booklet is to help raise awareness of down syndrome. Also in
relation to article 1 states All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and
rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one
another in a spirit of brotherhood (reference). Also to help parents who are not sure if
they want to have the prenatal test or have had a positive prenatal screening or have just
given birth to a child who has down syndrome. I have the history behind how the
discovery was founded, information about down syndrome. I have information behind
the beginning of prenatal testing and also the risks of having the tests done. I have a
section that I will talk about how society has changed over the years. Another section
will have some stories and letter that family, students and teachers have written on their
experiences also I have some opinion pieces by people with religious beliefs. I will also
include some resources and also websites that you can visit to get more information.

Difference Between Peace And Human Rights Movement
Human right and peace movements started a long time ago in the early nineteenth
century when the anti colonial movement was started. The aim of different movements,
however, differs with the issue at hand by that time. Many people fought for the
realization of a world free of colonializing using these human right movements. Their
major role is to sensitize the public and the government of the current oppressing issue.
For instance, when people realized that their civil rightswere doomed by selected few in
the time, they came up with movements that could force rectification of the way.
Notably, peace and human right movements have helped the public a lot from the
beginning of time.
The beginning of movements was faced with challenges in most cases having been
frequently criticized by the mass media for they seemed not to have a clear goal.
However, if the movement has a concrete claim, the way through shows up with time. For
example, in the fight for voting right, the movement was faced with many challenges
including media criticism. The whites wanted to maintain supremacy and hence did not
want any sign of equality. Also not to forget the anti colonial movement where many
people died in the quest for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in some cases, it becomes hard to protest peacefully and they try to force
their way. When violence and force are used, the result is the death of members and
property. This goes against our point that peace and human right movements are good
and they help sensitize people and bring change to the society (Taylor, n. p.). For
example, during the anti colonial human right movement, many people lost life and
property as they tried to force their way out. Moreover, during voting right movement
people lost life and property while others were forced to run to other countries. Even
though the change they were fighting for came to be, they had lost a

Essay On Shampoos
when choosing clippers, make sure you choose the most quiet clippers just in case your
dog doesn t like noises. When it comes to shampoo, you should know that some
shampoos contain ingredients that may irritate your dog s skin or eyes and these are
mostly shampoos with artificial dyes and fragrance. You should use shampoos with
natural fragrance like eucalyptus and lavender. The ingredients used on a shampoowill be
indicated on the bottle and you should take a keen look on them.
STEPS TO FOLLOW
1.Clean your dog.
You should make sure your dog is completely clean before you start clipping it. You

If your dog has dark nails,it might be difficult to identify where the quick is and in this
case you should try shining a bright torch through the nails towards you to make the
quick visible. You can also use baby oil or try looking on the underside of the nail as the
quick is more visible from below.
You should start grooming your dog as a puppy so as to make it used to the exercise and
this will make it easier for you to groom it and make it more comfortable when its being
groomed.
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial and that it helps you to get the impression you
want from your dog. Dogs need to be clean too and they should feel fresh all the time.
Sometimes it may be so costly to take your dog to a professional for grooming and
besides its a waste of money if you can do it yourself. Grooming your own dog will
also create a stronger bond between you and your pet. I would really appreciate if you
left your comments concerning this tutorial. If you liked it, feel free to share to others
Persuasive Essay On Hate Crimes
Hate crimes are the scariest thing in the world because these people really believe what
they re doing is right (Cher). Whoever commits a hate crime should not receive any
special punishment. Other people believe that a hate crime deserves special treatment as
it is more painful.. Whether the punishment is harsh or weak, it is a problem that must be
addressed.
One of the types of crimes that have caused a considerable amount of damage are hate
crimes. The U.S. Congress defines a hate crime as a crime where the victim is targeted
because of his or her race, color, nationality, ethnicity, gender, disability or sexual
orientation. Some scholars believe a better term is bias crime, because many crimes that
are motivated by hate are related to prejudice against any racial or ethnic group (Hate 1).
Hate crimes was the cause of many genocides of the world. Two of the worst are the
Bosnian Genocide and the Holocaust. The holocaust happened thanks to a man s hate
to Jews due to abusive family members that he believed were Jews. Adolf Hitler led his
final solution, the killing millions . After 60 years of the holocaust the groups targeted
are still having a rough time even in today s world (Devlin 1).

Among these riders were Nathan Monroe and Benjamin Tidd, who rode their horses
northward from Lexington to warn the town of Bedford. Jonathan Larkin, a deacon of
the Congregational church, decided to give Paul Revere his horse called Brown

tackles two different beliefs that come from Longfellow s poem Paul Revere s Ride. The
first belief is the two lanterns hanging in the steeple window of the Old North Church, the
tallest building in Boston at the time, were a sign for Revere. According to Fischer, Paul
Revere recruited two of his friends, Robert Newman and John Pulling, to go and hang
the lanterns in the Old North Church while Revere headed home to get some of his
supplies. Newman and Pulling lit the two lanterns to warn the Whigs in Charlestown,
not Revere, that the British regulars were going to leave from Boston by boat across the

The Impact of the Flinestones and the Simpsons
Throughout American history, many cartoons have impacted the lives of many people
today. The Flintstones was a popular show in the sixties and The Simpson was popular in
the nineties. Despite many similarities between The Simpson and The Flintstones, the
differences are not as obvious. In both shows, the main characters always end up in
trouble. Also they both have family situations to deal with. There is a major difference
between the two shows that makes them different from one another. The main characters
are completely different. The Flintstoneswere the greatest TV cartoon of all time until
The Simpsonscame and took the title. The Simpsons and The Flintstones both are
comedies that catch viewers attention. These two shows have been making Americans
laugh every night for 30 minutes for many years. The Flintstones was a show in the
sixties that many families followed. They were a typical nuclear family which meant
two parents and their kids. They were popular because it was making problems that
were happening in the world then, and changing it to the same problem but in the
Stone Age. The Flintstones family was made up with Fred, Wilma, Pebbles, Dino, and
Baby Puss. Fred was a loving husband and dad that worked at a rock and gravel company
for his boss Mr. Slate. He was easy to get angry. He would spend his time bowling with
his neighbor friend Barney. Wilma is his wife that loves to spend money. Their daughters

Topology, Infrastructure, And Network
Topology Infrastructure While category 5 enhanced (CAT 5e) is the current standard

this in mind, category 6 enhanced (CAT 6e) is recommended for the proposed cabling
infrastructure. While CAT 5e provides good electromagnetic interference (EMI)

protection also, but has the capability of up to 10 gigabit transmission between clients

Each switch is interconnected via multimode fiber optics between the floors. In
addition, one port per IDF will host an interconnected CAT 6e cable for redundancy in

CAT 6e cabling interconnecting the network switches creates a fault tolerant network.
Furthermore, to accommodate the transient nature of ABC Company s employees
during their day to day operations, a wireless access point (WAP) will be installed
centrally on each floor. Because of the location of each WAP, there is a chance of
signal bleed over between floors. To mitigate this possibility, each floor will have a non

channel 6, and floor three will employ channel 11. Furthermore, the antenna strength will
be configured so there is minimal signal bleed over outside of the confines of the office

architecture, employees can move from floor to floor and maintain network connectivity
without co channel interference from channel bleed over. When employees are

Positive Bias In Paper Tigers
Paper tigers can be there one moment and disappear the following second. Paper tigers
could be anxiety, stress, or anything that your mind could see as a threat. For me, my
paper tigers are large crowds and tall people. My parents played into that by saying
You are our surprise present and people can easily pick you up and carry you off .
After hearing that, I tried to stay away from large crowds or tall people. If I was around
those triggers, I would have a panic attack even though none of the people were trying to
hurt me. I would see them hurting me mentally, even though there was no physical
damage. That being said, the mindis constantly playing tricks on you; the mind focuses
on the negatives and rarely focuses on the positives. However, some condition their
minds to only discern the positives. By recognizing our negativity biases, there is a
connection with the idea of changing our prior negativity bias into a positive bias;
therefore, some parents nurture their child in an environment that encourages a positive
bias. In Rick Hanson s article, he makes ample connections to a negativity bias, yet does
not focus on the fact that there remains a possibility of a positive bias. In this paper we
will discus the negativity bias, how some condition their minds to see the positives, and
the three mistakes.Rick Hanson, psychologist, best selling author, and summa cumlaude

Trans-Panama Canal Benefits
The advantages of building a canal through Central America were known long ago. Even
at the time Christopher Columbus first arrived in the New World, it was evident that a
short cut through Central America would be extremely beneficial, but there was never
an incentive to build one until many years later. The increase in population and trade in
California because of the California gold rush demonstrated the need for a faster and less
costly trade route from western America to eastern America. This gave the United States
motivation to make a shortcut, and in 1848 the United States built the trans Panama
railroad to satisfy this need ( Panama, city, Panama ). The railroad required a ship to

States Acquires the Canal Zone ). The route through Panama was thought to be easier to
build, less expensive, and overall more advantageous than the route through Nicaragua. It
provided a head start on construction, a shorter route, and included a railroad which
allowed for easy transportation of construction equipment for the canal (Pearson). With
this information, Cromwell convinced the United States government that the Panama
route was the better option, which led congress to enact the Spooner Act. This stated that
if the president could obtain the rights from Colombia, who controlled Panama, it would

The Waffle House
Everybody from down South knows about the Waffle House and has one close in a
local area. The Waffle House is a 24 hour diner place that sales just about anything that
you want. Although Waffle House is an excellent place to eat at, there are things that
make people think twice bout going. Most Waffle Houses are extremely cold. Why?
because workers are dealing with eggs and things of that nature and employees become
very hot quick. When sitting at the table, the waiter gives a napkin to put the fork, the

Censorship
Censorship A Clash of Wills and Morals
A list of the greatest literature of the English language could be compiled
almost solely by using a chart of the works most often censored
by schools and libraries. Some people believe that the books most frequently

choice swear words taken from the challenged text. Censors usually cling to
the obscenity charge because they believe it will
gather public support as the basis for removing books...If there
is substantial support for providing a wide range of materials then
charges restricting the intellectual content of a book, its racial,
religious, or political ideas, are less likely to receive much public
support, and so the frequency of [those] charges diminishes.
(Burress, 41 44)
More often than not the charge of obscenity is merely a cover for other
motives the censor may not feel comfortable making known.
As one studies the works charged with obscenity or bad language, it
seems blatantly clear that some other agenda is at work. Nicholas Karolides
notes that not all attacks are identified forthrightly; it is apparently more

  • 3. Ancient Egypt Religion Essay When we think of ancient civilizations the first one that normally stands out is Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians were one of the very few that arose to civilization independently, and accomplished many impressive things along the way. The Egyptian civilization stretched along the lower reaches of the Nile River in Northeastern Africa. Religion was at the core of everything that the Egyptians were and they stood firm for what they believed in. Their religion was based on polytheism, which was the belief of many gods. The Egyptians had 2000 or more gods or goddess and each community would worship their own deities (Ancient Egyptian Religion). As a result of their beliefs, the Pharaoh was seen as the most powerful person in ancient Egyptand oversaw all state religious activity. What made the Pharaoh so special was that the people recognized that he was human, and he was subject to human weakness, but they still viewed him as a divine power of kingship (Religion). The Egyptians believe that the pharaoh was half human and half god, and would work as an intermediary between the Egyptian people and the gods (Religion). The Ancient Egyptians also believed that the pharaoh was the sun god, god Horus. It was believed that when the pharaoh died he would be reunited with the sun, and a new sun god would rule on Earth (Barrow, Mandy). Death and the afterlife played almost as an important role in Ancient Egypt as religion. Death was not seen as a final stage of life, but as a

New York: Oxford University Press, Inc., 2003 Matthew Restall, a Professor of Latin American History, Women s Studies, and Anthropology at Pennsylvania State University. He also serves the Director of the university s Latin Studies. Throughout Seven Myths of the Spanish Conquest, he discusses many false truths that have been passed down through history. For instance, he discusses, The Myth of Exceptional Men. The Myth of Spanish Army, and The Myth of Completion. For the sake of time, I will discuss three myths that correlate with class lectures and serve as the topic of this paper, The Myth of Exceptional Men, The Myth of the King s Army, and the Myth of the White Conquistador. It should be noted that Restall speaks to his audience assuring us that his ...his purpose is not to degenerate this technique of historical writing completely...Nor do I mean to create a narrative in which individual action is utterly subordinated to the larger structural forces and causes of social change. (4). He states that his intentions are to react to more than just the works of Columbus, Pizzaro, and Cortez. One of the great themes of historical literature over the past five centuries has been the assessment of the European discovery of the Americas as one of the two greatest events in human history. • 6. Shakespeare s Power Of Love And Silence Chandler Caffery Professor Hasselbach Introduction to Shakespeare 11/16/15 Shakespeare s Power of Love and Silence Many of Shakespeare s plays emphasize silence and the lack of language as an important dramatic feature. Particularly, this is in regards to characterization and the development of the composition s theme. A character s lack of words may signify the feeling of an emotion that is outside the limits of human understanding. It may also express that the character experiences a feeling of intimidation or communicates with defiance. Furthermore, the text of comedies and tragedies can display silence via the written work in regards to an activity or reaction that is not represented directly, such as the audience being aware of a character s true identity while the characters within the play face this absence. There are various arguments that focus upon the ambiguity of whether a women s silence in Shakespeare s plays reflects passivity or resistance; the following analysis will argue both. The female characters of Shakespeare s comedic and tragic plays, specifically Twelfth Night and Othello, fall silent at the periods in time when their speech would impair the writer s effort at bringing attention to the social constructions of the seventeenth century. These moments, which manifest a strategic and vital development, exemplify the most common stereotype of females that is found within Shakespeare s compositions: all members of this gender based category should be

How Arthur Conan Doyle Creates an Atmosphere of Mystery and Builds Suspense in The Speckled Band In many of Holmes adventures, Conan Doyle used a successful personal formula to create mystery and build suspense, and The Speckled Band is no exception. Who is he who cares for her? Why has she aged so quickly? What is the terror and fear that makes her shiver? Similarly, Arthur Conan Doyletakes focus to comment on the clients weary and haggard expression rather than the actual case so as to give as little mystery solving information as possible but still maintain the readers interest through arousing their concern for Miss Stoner s situation. • 10. Difference Between Peace And Human Rights Movement Human right and peace movements started a long time ago in the early nineteenth century when the anti colonial movement was started. The aim of different movements, however, differs with the issue at hand by that time. Many people fought for the realization of a world free of colonializing using these human right movements. Their major role is to sensitize the public and the government of the current oppressing issue. For instance, when people realized that their civil rightswere doomed by selected few in the time, they came up with movements that could force rectification of the way. Notably, peace and human right movements have helped the public a lot from the beginning of time. The beginning of movements was faced with challenges in most cases having been frequently criticized by the mass media for they seemed not to have a clear goal. However, if the movement has a concrete claim, the way through shows up with time. For example, in the fight for voting right, the movement was faced with many challenges including media criticism. For example, during the anti colonial human right movement, many people lost life and property as they tried to force their way out. Moreover, during voting right movement people lost life and property while others were forced to run to other countries. Even though the change they were fighting for came to be, they had lost a

Whoever commits a hate crime should not receive any special punishment. Other people believe that a hate crime deserves special treatment as it is more painful.. Whether the punishment is harsh or weak, it is a problem that must be addressed. One of the types of crimes that have caused a considerable amount of damage are hate crimes. The U.S. Congress defines a hate crime as a crime where the victim is targeted because of his or her race, color, nationality, ethnicity, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
