Early Human Evolution
Evolution is the idea that species change over time and have a common ancestor. Which means
that other species can evolve from the same animal or plant over a long period of time.
Anthropology is the study of humankind and some of the different aspects to see how we evolved.
The physical or biological anthropology is the evolution of humans their variability, and adaptations
to the environment. Physical anthropologist can examine or investigate evolution through our
genetic makeup. Anthropologist can compare bone structure, cranial capacity, and complexity of
tools. Through comparing bone structure forensic anthropologist can determine how tall early
Homo species where. Anthropologist can see the development of modern humans and the

Since the finding of Lucy in 1974 the evolutionary tree has nearly doubled (1). Early evidence can
tell how well the humans adapted to their climate, differences in male and female body size, and
how adapted early human species were for walking upright. Early on people thought that there was
only a single line of human species. After further research, the other early human species died out
and Homo sapiens are the sole surviving species.
Archaeology can help understand evolution by the artifacts found near areas inhabited by Homo.
The tools and sediments found inside caves can give anthropologist a better timeline for what
their level of intellectual ability. Tools can tell a significant amount about their social lifestyle.
Finding places were a campfire was burned over a period of time means that they most likely
cooked and even spent social time around the fire.
Further evidence suggest the cooking of when anthropologist found fragments of bones mixed with
ash. The ability to manipulate fire let them live in cave dwellings and on the ground instead of in
trees. The safety of fire allowed them to sleep on the ground not having to fear predators, which
would otherwise hunt them during the night. Over time the tree dwelling traits of larger shoulders
decreased and the ground level features became predominate. Which in turn brings us back to the
physical anthropology aspect of bone

How Did The Industrial Revolution Affect European Society
The industrial revolution was when changes in agriculture, manufacturing, work ethics,
transportation and technology became more advanced. The revolution made social economics and
culture prosper. This spread during the 18th and 19th century in Europe. Europe was the first place
to start this revolution because it had the resources to advance technology and it was politically
stable. Most people made a living in small towns and were farmers. A large amount of people at the
time were poor, and malnourished, disease was also a common issue to encounter. The European
industrial revolutionchanged this and nearly every aspect of daily life was impacted in some way.
The revolution was so successful that it influenced another one.
For the first time in history, the living standards of the masses of ordinary people have begun to
undergo sustained growth. ... Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before.
This means that the european industrial revolution brought on this change of population in many
areas. Most places grew and expanded with the amount of people that prospered in it. The part
about Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before , means that the european
industrial revolution was the start and the cause of waves of migration.
Population grew because death rates decreased and birth rates increased. Town s rural industries
grew along with trade. The economy called for more people to fill in jobs such as harvesters.

Speech On Mumbai
Magical Mumbai Entices You To Stay Forever
Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is India s largest city and one of the largest cosmopolitan
metropolises in the world. Mumbai is India s melting pot with people from all over the country and
the world converging together to live harmoniously. The city is the perfect representation of the
country s dichotomy: symbolised by the presence of Bollywood in the city, Mumbai is also host to
India s largest slum population. The city itself is huge, sprawling in every direction, and this
makes sight seeing in Mumbai much more exciting. From the rock cut caves of Elephanta to Dobi

Persuasion As A Political Leader
In today s society, we are easily influenced to think and act a certain way. For example, we are
influenced by the media to buy things and meet certain standards, however, we often don t protest
or question why. Through persuasion, one alters another s perspective on an event or occurrence
and because of this, people usually tend to accept what is being said or portrayed. According to
Petty and Cacioppo (1986), there are two routes to persuasion. When one tries to persuade another
by being more caring and have a good understanding of the message they are delivering, this is
called the central route to persuasion. The second route to persuasion is better known as the
peripheral route to persuasion. This occurs when the one being addressed simply agrees with
what is being said based on certain superficial cues rather than the actual message. Political
persuasion methods are widely used, especially in campaigns. As a political leader, one detains
the ultimate power to influence the population. Being a political leader, however, is never easy.
Sometimes, one must make tough decisions that many of the population might not agree on. For
instance, if a person in power chose to bomb a foreign country, this would create mayhem and
thus his followers or just people in society would start to doubt his decision and may lead to riots.
This specific political leader must debate his case and persuade the population that his decision
was the right thing to do. In order to do so,

My Islam Journal
Islam Journal
Islam as a kid I can remember hearing a lot about in the news or entertainment media. In the
media like most things it was always negativity, talking about the different wars or bombing that
happened in Israel. Then when I seen Spike Lee X it was awesome I wanted to sign up. Being
eleven I tried to get as much info on Islam as I could. My parents was tickled one being Buddhist
and the other a catholic, great they said. They really never were against it or try to stop me. That s
what made them awesome. So the running joke up to now they called me all kind Arabic names,
but one stuck was Muhammad. As I reached young adulthood Islam definitely had a slant on them
how they were portrayed in the news. Can t blame a religion or the Muslim people for what a
bunch of radicals did.
Islam is the third major monotheistic religion in the Abrahamic tradition. It has 1.3 billion
followers, mainly in northern Africa, west and south Asia. It was formed in 622 CE, with origins
in or around the Arabian Peninsula. Islam means surrender or submission was founded by the
teachings of the prophet Muhammad of surrendering the will to Allah. Allah is god in Arabic, the
maker, creator, and sustainer of all things of life and everything in this universe. Muhammad is
considered to be the last prophet of god. Devine knowledge from Allah is collected revelations

Parks And Recreation Rhetorical Analysis

In Parks and Recreation, they have a comical way on how the government deals with problems
and uses real life scenarios that have occurred in the government. An example of a real life event
is when in the show they had the government shutdown in Pawnee which was inspired by the real
life global financial crisis of 2007 2008. In addition, the writers spent some time researching
local California politics and attended Los Angeles City Council meetings to have a better
understating of what goes on. In those meetings, they had the opportunity to observe community
hearings were attended only by those people that opposed, often upset, to the proposals under
consideration. This became a major component of the town hall scenes in Parks and Recreation.
In addition to political events, the characters also play a role in the government in this series.
The protagonist, Leslie Knope,is a deputy in Pawnee s Parks and Recreation Department of
Pawnee, later in the seasons she decides to campaign to be part of city council. She is
exceedingly optimistic and stay positive even when something doesn t work out. In addition, she
is firmly committed to the belief that government should provide a service for its people, and
regularly goes above and beyond for the benefits of Pawnee s residents. On the other hand, Ron
Swanson contradicts this belief, he is more of a staunch libertarian who feels all

Monitoring Internet Privacy
While everyone might think that clearing search history, deleting a picture or tweet might make it
disappear forever, it is not true. If the government wanted to they could monitor your internet use.
While this could be helpful it is also harmful. I do not think the government should be able to
monitor your internetuse, unless they have a reason to. While monitoring internet content does not
violate any of the amendment it is an invasion of privacy. Most young adults and teens only use the
internet as means of communicating. It does not harm anyone in any way. While most people
are using internet for good, some people may not be. There are many cases of cyber bullying that
could be going on, and adults may not know. Since cyber bullying is becoming a bigger issue as
technology advances, and certain apps come out that could be used for bullying it could be helpful
to be able to monitor internet use. So as for local governmentit makes sense that they could monitor
internet content if a problem is brought to their attention. As for federal and state goverment, they
do not need to monitor your internet use unless they have a reason to. Such as terorist websites or

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest By Donald Trump
Donald Trump s run for presidency brings faithful supporters, angry critics, and a plethora of
headlines. Supportive followers ignore the plentiful reasons that deem Trump unfit for presidency.
For example, on several occasions comments and statements made by Trump paint him as sexist and
racist. In addition, Trump shares similarities with Adolf Hitler, an unsettling realization. However,
those who support Donald Trumpargue that his economic experience as well as his honesty
outweigh the long list of his faults.
America, a country considered a melting pot, requires a president capable of accepting those of
different races and religions. Donald Trump s openly racist remarks disqualify him from holding
presidency. In a speech, Trump made the assertion that all Muslim people should be barred from
entering the U.S. (Pulliman Moore). In response, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest stated
What Donald Trump said yesterday disqualifies him from serving as president (Pulliman Moore). In
addition, House Speaker Paul Ryan insisted that religious freedom was a fundamental
Constitutional principle (Pulliman Moore). Trump clearly crossed the line with his comment.
Displaying islamophobia violates the right of religious freedom, as granted by the First
Amendment. Presidential obligations include respecting and upholding the Constitution and the
Bill of Rights and Trump proves incapable of carrying out that responsibility.

Chaos In Lord Of The Flies Essay
The quote, Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered, by Jose Saramago, explains the
importance of keeping order in civilization. When order does not exist or is not enforced,
civilization begins to collapse or breaks down which, in turn, proceeds to ensue chaos. When
Piggy discovers the conch in the story, Lord of The Flies, by William Golding, he uses it to
establish order on the island, but when he dies order ceases to exist. The first line in the poem, In
A Dark Time, is eerily similar to the boys situation of order and civility on the island. When Piggy
first observed the conch in the beginning of the story he decided that they should use that conch to
preserve order in the tribe. Piggy explains to the group, We can use... Show more content on

After Piggy s death the boys on the island could not be more divided. The boys had split into two
groups, Jack and his tribe and Ralph who is now alone due to Piggy s death. Dark, darker my
light, and darker my desire, (Stanza 3), as said by Roethke. The boys are only falling into deeper
chaos on the island, and are continuing to become more savage. Jack s desires, in particular, are
becoming darker because he proceeds to throw spears and hunt down Ralph after he had
witnessed Piggy s death. This is a great representation of how the boys are becoming more
barbaric with the actions that they are taking. At first the boys desires were to get rescued.
However, now Jack is coming to the realization that they will probably not be rescued and he
wants to hunt down and kill Ralph. Jack starts reinstating to the boys on the island that he is
their leader. Piggy s death is the symbolization of the breakdown of order and the beginning of
disunity on the island. This breakdown of order is clearly delineated in the book. Jack sees the
chance to kill Ralph right after Piggy is killed because Ralph is vulnerable, and alone against
Jack and his tribe. Jack takes it upon himself to declare himself as the leader, I m chief! (Page
181). Jack sees the opportunity to proclaim himself as leader of the boys after Piggy dies and the
conch is destroyed. Jack then proceeds to barrage Ralph with spears in an attempt to kill him,

Lexical Approach To English Language Teaching
CHAPTER 2:
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Introduction:
Lexical Approach and English Language Teaching The Lexical Approach is based on the idea that
language is made up of other structural elements besides what we traditionally think of as grammar.
Instruction focuses on relatively fixed expressions that occur frequently in spoken language rather
than on originally created sentences (Lewis, 1997a). This digest provides an overview of the
methodological foundations underlying the lexical approach and the pedagogical implications.
The lexical approach to foreign language teaching has received interest in recent years as an
alternative to grammar based approaches. The lexical approach concentrates on developing learners
proficiency with lexis, or words and word combinations. It is based on the idea that an important
part of language acquisition is the ability to comprehend and ... Show more content on

There were studies done on vocabulary acquisition through Internet based instruction. Many of
the studies (e.g. Al Jarf, 2007; Kaur and Hegelheimer, 2005; Smidt and Hegelheimer, 2004)
showed that students learned vocabulary more effectively when they were involved incidentally
or directly in vocabulary tasks and activities in the Internet based learning environment. As
researchers, we also believe that vocabulary acquisition is an area where computer assisted
language learning (CALL) has a particularly important role to play. Son (2001) explored CALL
research on vocabulary learning. His article discussed the use of the computer for lexical skill
development in terms of linking CALL with vocabulary acquisition and searching for effective
ways to use CALL in vocabulary instruction. Through the literature review, the article was assured
the positive effects of lexical CALL on implicit and explicit learning of vocabulary and

Judaism And Judaism
Since the rise of Judaism, Jewish followers have faced an extensive history of exploitation. The
cultural and religious practices of Judaism were foreign and unfathomable during this time,
especially for other religious groups like Christians. Jews were not necessarily understood and were
perceived as being Greedy, wanderers, untrustworthy, and failures (Fermaglich, lecture, 07
September 2017). Ultimately Judaisms vision was rejected and the followers were unwelcome in
the kingdom, leading to the diaspora. Once the dispersal of Jews occurred, they were living in the
surrounding areas rather than living within close proximity to one another. Judaism evolved and
diversified due to the diaspora, and later immigration. Today, the Jewish religion that used to have
one common set of practices now differs between the four sects of the religion. These include
Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Secular. Although there are distinct religious differences, the
branches of Judaism are bound together by the values, traditions, and historical experiences,
creating a unified group of people. One difference that falls under the category of traditions among
Jews is keeping kosher. Kashruth entails following specific dietary requirements such as not mixing
meat and dairy or eating pork and shellfish. (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). Although this
tradition was originally followed religiously, overtime due to the modernization of Judaism, this has

Essay on The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God
The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God
The ontological argument is an a priori argument. The arguments attempt to prove God s existence
from the meaning of the word God. The ontological argument was introduced by Anselm of
Canterbury in his book Proslogion. Anselm s classical argument was based on two principals and
the two most involved in this is St Anselm of Canterbury as previously mentioned and Rene
Descartes.
The ontological argument argues that if you understand what it means to talk about God, you will
see His existence is necessarily true. Anselm defined God as that than which nothing greater can be
conceived , hence God must exist. Anselm also believed that even ... Show more content on

If He did not exist, then you could still think of an even greater being (one just like God that you
said did not exist, except this one would exist). Existence must be one of God s attributes because
to remove it, you would still be able to fathom a greater God (one which does exist). The problem
most have with this argument is that it seems to simply list existence among God s attributes, rather
than show it. The argument appears to say whatever you can imagine should be true in reality.
Descartes claimed God exists is true, if we know what it means to talk of God. Similarly, he
maintained that once we know what a triangle is we know that it must have three sides. Like a
triangle inherently must have three sides, so God inherently must exist.
Objections to the ontological argument were first brought up by a monk who was a contemporary
of Anselm named Gaunilo. He said that according to Anselm s line of reasoning, if he envisioned
an island that is beautiful and sparkling and completely perfect, then it must exist. For an island
that does exist would be more perfect than one that does not exist. Gaunilo said that we cannot
simply define things into existence. We cannot show an island or God exists simply by analyzing
that idea.
A critique of Descartes comes from the philosopher David Hume who argued against the

Anger In A Tale Of Two Cities
Anger is a normal emotion with a wide range of intensity, from mild irritation and frustration to
rage. It is a reaction to a perceived threat to us, or some part of our identity. Anger motivates
powerful and aggressive feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and defend ourselves
when we are attacked. Anger is a warning bell that tells us that something is wrong. Anger is a
vitally important evolutionary gift and without it we are perpetual victims. Anger can be a good
thing, it allows expressing negative feelings. Anger protects humans from sitting and boiling inside

Oppression is considered the main mover of the French Revolution that led to the extreme anger of
revolutionaries. In A Tale of Two Cities
, Dickens portrays the bad conditions that led French
people to anger and rise for their rights. Prior to the French Revolution, high aristocrats had no
sympathy towards the poor; all they cared about was their ability to do as they pleased.
According to Christopher Dentel, The aristocrats have no concern and no sympathy for the
poor; they know they are suffering and they do not care. The marquis represents the evil and
cruelty of the aristocracy. He shows completely no regard for human life. Oppression in a Tale
of Two Cities expresses between two cities England and France that shows that the ruling class
of Aristocrats has oppressed the people. In France, the ruling class of aristocrats has oppressed
the people for so long that many are starving. The peasants were treated cruelly by the corrupt
ruling class, which lives in lavish opulence. In a Tale of Two Cities, The marquis represents the
evil of the aristocracy put into one ominous character. He has a perfect mask. He represents the
brutality of the French aristocracy. He shows violence in all aspects like raping, killing,
imprisoned without any reasons and that created a lot of anger toward him and toward the
aristocracy. Firstly, he is one of the two involved in the crimes against the peasants .He resulted in
Doctor manette`s imprisonment. He also raped Mrs. Defarge s sister, being the reason for killing
of her father and brother. Finally, According to his inhuman events in the whole novel, He even

One of the most common superconductors used in low temperature experiments for this purpose
is niobium titanium alloy (NbTi). At very low temperatures, NbTi can transfer an order of
magnitude less heat than non superconducting cables [2]. However, titanium and titanium alloys
form oxides when exposed to air, and these oxides make soldering to NbTi cables nearly
impossible. While solderless methods of connectorizing cables exist, the machines required are
expensive and purpose built for one size of cable [3].
A better candidate for connectorization is electroplating, which has been one of the focuses of
my research in Professor Lafyatis and Professor Gauthier s groups at The Ohio State University.
By studying various electroplating techniques, I aim to create a simpler, less expensive procedure
which would allow our group to produce these cables on demand to use with our SNSPDs. In the
past, companies have used nickel electroplating of NbTi cables, which is described in a patent by
Saubestre and Bulan in 1961 [4]. However, this technique has two issues that prevent it from being
useful in for plating NbTi today. First, the metal being plated is nickel, which is ferromagnetic. In
recent years, there have been many experiments at cold temperatures that are highly sensitive to
magnetism, including research using SQUIDs, magnetometers, or nuclear magnetic resonance,
making nickel a poor choice of plating

The For A Jubilee During The Sizzling Summer Months
As the calm brackish waters lapse onto the shores of Point Clear to Daphne, many people are
hopeful for a Jubilee during the sizzling summer months. The neighbors of this community always
alert one another to the sound of bells ringing and the eager cries of Jubilee! Everyone will come
rushing down to the shore with their laundry baskets, gigs, nets, sacks, and almost anything you can
imagine in order to gather an abundant supply of seafood. This natural phenomenon has only been
known to occur regularly in Mobile, Alabama, and also across the world in Tokyo, Japan, which
testifies to its rarity. A Jubilee occurs when coincidental conditions in the bay result in
disoriented deep sea animals such as flounders, shrimps, crabs, and other sea creature are driven
to the shallow waters and into the nets of Mobile fishermen. The term Jubilee is often defined as
A season of rejoice. The term seems to be so positive; however, this event could potentially be

Management of chronic pain can be very difficult and it is especially important to personalize the
plan of care to the client and to the type of chronic pain, rather than by its cause or its severity.
One of the most often relied on ways to manage chronic pain in the elderly is through
pharmaceutical methods. (Pateinakis, 2013) In the elderly differences in drug efficacy and the

Definition Essay About Moving To America
The definition of an American is hard to explain. Some believe it is only about being born in
North America, others believe it is about where your ancestors came from. The real definition of
an American is someone who is free. Free to choose any occupation they want to do, free to get a
good education, and free to speak or act for what they believe in.
One of the many reasons immigrants have moved to America is because of the large amount of
job opportunities available to anyone looking for work. Which explains why America is called
the land of opportunity. In America and I by Anzia Yezierska, a story about a woman moving to
America to fulfill her dream of starting the life that she always wanted to live, she says In the

Unlike many other countries around the world, America is a place where your voice is not
silenced by anyone. America is well known for the acts of demonstrating what they believe in to
better this country. People like Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, or even
Nathanial Bacon have all practiced this freedom. In a speech by Franklin D. Roosevelt he states
In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four
essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression everywhere in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the world....
By him repeating the phrase everywhere in the world he is expressing how important it is for all
humans to have these freedoms, not just Americans.
Though the freedom of speech, and the opportunities for education and jobs do define the freedom
of Americans, it doesn t begin to explain the full definition of an American. An American can be
described as many other things also such as: patriotic, heroic, brave, and diverse. Through any
characteristic you can call an American, freedom is the core of what this nation is made

In 1957 the Common
In 1957 the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) was outlined by the then six member states. The
main reason for the Common Agricultural policy was to make Agriculture a self sufficient entity in
The European
Union.
The six member states of the European Union proposed to do this by creating a stable market for
agricultural produce and at the same time keeping prices at an affordable level for consumers.
The heads of the European Union (E.U) believed that Agriculture was one of the most significant
industries within the E.U; .and as a result agreed that special attention needed to be focused on this
area of European policy. When the nations of Europe got together in the late 1950 s, agriculture was

controversy associated with the policy. I will look at the steps taken by the E.U to counteract this
controversy and whether or not the controversy is likely to continue in the future. The common
agricultural policy is funded by means of the European
Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee fund (EAGGF) this fund amounts for almost half of the E.U
budget. The EAGGF incorporates two basic areas which are support and guidance, support of
prices and markets and to guide rural development. (Nugnet, N. 2003)
At the onset of Cap it was thought that revenue generated from import levies would finance the
EAGGF but due to the unforeseen and indeed rapid increase in agricultural produce within the E.U
and therefore a reduction in imports this has not been the case and the financial burden has fallen
on to national governments, however in recent years the E.U has decided to rely on its own
resources for the funding of
EAGGF. (EL Agrai, Ali. M. 2001)

Four Inter-Family Influences Of The Indo Aryan Language
Hence if we look at all the Indo Aryan languages, one aspect if quite clear is that they are all
derivatives of Sanskrit (Sebeok, 1963) which in turn have their roots set in Greek and Latin and
made its way into Indian soil via the Indo Europeans (Sebeok, 1963). Out of all these Indo Aryan
languages, Hindiis considered to be the most progressive, as it is the most analytical followed by
Punjabi, Gujarati, Sindhi, Marathi, Bengali, and Oriya (Sebeok, 1963).
2.2.4 Inter Family Influences
No languages can be given the title of pure language being devoid of any form of influence or mix
from languages belonging to their neighbouring boundaries or languages it might have come in
contact within the course of time. With the number of language families existing in the same soil
over the number of years, there is bound to be influences of one on another. For example, the Indo
Aryan languages have quite a few Non Indo Aryan borrowings (Bagchi, Levi and Bloch, 1929). It
must be remembered that the Aryans had come into the Indian soil after the Dravidians and Tibeto
Burma family already residing in the North western regions of India. It is seen that the ancient Indo
Aryan language Sanskrit has strand of Pre Aryan languages namely, the Dravidian and Munda
language (Sebeok, 1963). While the Tibeto Burma influence is said to have come in while the
Aryans were coming in from the Northern boundaries of India. Aryans were coming in from a
temperate region into the tropical environment of

Based on this information, only an immaterial amount of companies actually accrue a liability in
their financial statement. Therefore, M Corporation will simply provide disclosure of the
contingency and an estimate of the possible loss or range of loss for the future pending litigation
in its 2007 financial statement under Note: Contingencies and Commitments. If M Corporation
accrued a liability on its 2007 financial statements, then the company becomes too transparent to

accrual of a loss from ongoing litigation is rare. Companies usually do not record a loss until after
the ultimate settlement has been reached. For example, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, in a

How Does Barack Obama s Influence On The United States
Barack Obama had the biggest influence on the United States in the early 2000 s. Barack Obama
was the first African American President, and also the first president to be born outside of the
contiguous United States. Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States, from
2009 2017. He reformed health care, strengthened the economy, helped protect the Environment
from the effects of climate change and air pollution, and used military diplomacy in other countries.
One thing Barack Obamadid was reform health care. Barack Obama proposed and signed the
Affordable Care Act, covering 32 million uninsured americans beginning in 2014 (Star
Tribune). Health care is now mandatory for all citizens. With 20 more million americans insured
the uninsured rate has dropped from 20 percent to 12 percent (America Magazine). Provisions of
the law make care accessible to those who had previously been left out. Obamacare requires that
mental health be covered as comprehensively as a physical condition. No one can be denied
insurance for a pre existing medical issue. Companies can no longer charge women more than
men for insurance (bbc.com). It s estimated that 22 million people would lose medical insurance if
Obamacare was repealed (bbc.com). By passing the Affordable Care Act, Barack Obama has

Asylum In The 19th Century
The first of the largest asylums was built in Mulgrave Street Limerick, The Limerick District

Essay about Progressivism
Progressivism implies a philosophy which welcomes innovations and reforms in the political,
economic, and social order. The Progressive movement, 1901 to 1917, was ultimately the triumph
of conservatism rather than a victory for liberalism. In a general sense, the conservative goals of
this period justified the Liberal reforms enacted by
Progressive leaders. Deviating from the traditional definition of conservatism (a resistance to
change and a disposition of hostility to innovations in the political, social, and economic order), the
Conservatist triumph was in the sense that there was an effort to maintain basic social and
economic relations vital to a capitalist society. The
Progressive leaders essentially wanted to perpetuate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1902, the United Mine Workers were willing to submit to arbitration, but the coal operators
adamantly opposed any recognition of the union. Thus, the union members decided to strike over
wages, safety conditions, and union recognition. The Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902 ended with the
appointment by Roosevelt of an arbitration commission to rule on the issues. Business men did not
regard politics (government regulation) as a necessary evil, but as an important part of their
position in society. Roosevelt did not see big business as evil, but a permanent development that
was necessary in a modern economy. Roosevelt couldn t rely on the courts to distinguish between
good or bad trusts. The only solution was for the executive to assume that responsibility.
Roosevelt s ingenious square dealings and gentlemen s agreements controlled many firms. In 1903,
a new cabinet position was created to address the concerns of business and labor (Department of

Within the department, the Bureau of Corporations was empowered to investigate and report on

Medical Effects of the iPhone 5 C The iPhone 5 C model uses the iOS 7 system, which is
accompanied by medical concerns. This technology makes the screen appear to be in layers in
addition to a zooming feature than occurs when switching between applications. According to
Bashak (2013), this technology has been reported to cause problems analogous to carsickness.
This type of sickness is called vertigo that occurs when problematic cases occur in the inner ear or
eye. It could be described as what one perceives to be different from the motion in the inner ear
senses. The author further asserts that Apple fans have had trouble from the transition involving
applications and the home screen. The main reason for this discomfort is the new parallax
innovation that forces the screen background to move back and forth. Since the iOS 7 is
preinstalled in the model, it becomes a major medical concern that must be checked. Another
medical concern regarding the iPhone 5 C model is about the smaller dock, which could lead to an
increased transition in Bluetooth technology (in the medical industry). In September 2013, Apple

living room. We no longer hang stockings and have not done so in years. I had discovered where
Santa s gifts come from at an early age, so certain traditions that revolved around Santa came to a
quick halt. When my cousins and I were younger, we would all make sugar cookies with our Nana.
We would cut out the cookies into shapes, such as a star, stocking, or snowman. Then we would
decorate the cookies with multiple colors of frosting and red and green sprinkles. There was not
an order to who cut out what shapes or who decorated what shapes. This tradition had stopped
relatively quickly, once my eldest cousin had reached high school. Now if I bake during the
holidays, I try out recipes I find on Pinterest and bake by myself. I normally enjoy them myself
and leave extras in the fridge for my parents. Other times when I have made extra baked goods I
will gift them to others. I thoroughly enjoy listening to Christmas music, even before Thanksgiving
is over. During the months of November and December, I am usually listening to

How Great Dbq
Alexander inherited Macedonia at age twenty, and he set out to conquer Persia immediately
which was considered the most powerful kingdom in the world. Alexander was to born to be a
king. He was taught by Aristotle training and excelling in politics, sports, and warfare. He even
eventually grew such a high belief of himself that he considered himself to be a god. News
spread of his great power intimidating many rulers resulting in some of them surrendering. From
many years of fighting he sustained many injuries weaking hi health. He became ill while
feasting and later died at age thirty three. Some people believed he may have died from Malaria
but no one can ever be sure. One thing that will also remain a mystery is why Alexander did not
name an heir to the throne. Therefor, his officers split up the land causing the kingdom to weaken
and eventually fall. Three centuries later he was praised by Julius Caesar in accomplishing so
much in such little time. How Great was Alexander the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an example, in document B the author states ... At night he would take most of his calvary to
various points along the river bak where he would create a clamour, raise the war cry, and
produce all other such noises as would come from men preparing to cross the river. Prous would
actually parallel his movements on the other side, (Document B). Specifically, Alexander had
many fake attacks causing Porus to get ready for battle. Porus eventually got tired of doing this,
so he stopped causing him to let his guard down. When Alexander finally attacked Porus was
unprepared and taken by surprise. Porus and his army were boxed in by their own elephants. The
drivers were then shot down causing the elephants to be dazed and confused trampling over Porus
s army. He knew attacking Porus would cause him to lose which was smart. His knack for
producing original and brilliant methods aided him in excelling combat and

Analysis Of John 10 s The Good Shepherd And Christ s...
Jesus s stories and words bring both comfort and revelation to people around the world. The
stories that are contained in the four Gospels are those that share Christ s doctrine as well as the
history of the Savior. However, to say that the Gospel stories and doctrine cannot be applied to
the modern reader would be incorrect. One of these Gospels, John, contains a particularly
important message for both the historical and modern reader. In John 10, a variety of integral
stories and important doctrine is outlined. In John 10, both the story of the Good Shepherd and
Christ s interactions with the Jewish leaders give insight to the historical reference and meaning
of the doctrine in a modern setting. John 10 is a very interesting and important block of
scripture. It covers the idea of Christ as the Good Shepherd. He states in John 10:11, I am the
good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. This presents one of the main
ideas of John 10, which is that Christ is the leader of His sheep, which are His people. He
declares that the good shepherd will die for his flock, which is exactly what Christ does. He also
defends his statements from the Jewish leaders, as they want to stone him for uttering such
blasphemy , according to Blair G. VanDyke. He uses both old scriptures and logic to defend his
position, which brings interesting implications in a modern context. Both of these ideas and their
importance can be viewed in differing perspectives from both

Gender Bias Research Papers
Gender bias is unequal treatment in employment opportunity, such as promotion, pay, benefits, or
privileges due to attitudes based on sex of an employee or group of employees. Gender bias can
be a legitimate basis for a lawsuit under anti discrimination statutes. Workplace gender bias not only
attempts, but succeeds in several ways that people don t recognize for womanin male professions.
Men automatically have an advantage over women when it comes to getting a certain job because
several people view men as being more powerful, influential, and dominant than women in
workplaces. Stereotypes have been embedded in our brains, and we tend to go along with them
without even being aware of what we are doing. There s hope that citizens mindset can be changed
if we take control of the normal, genderbias stereotypes before they get passed on to the next
generation. Are you willing to treat everybody the same ? Every... Show more content on

Gender bias often goes overlooked or unnoticed because it is extremely common in workplaces.
People are starting to not realize that they are being bias towards people for not hiring them for
jobs because they feel like the jobs are only for the opposite sex of the person. Why are females
continuously told that they can t play football, but males are allowed to be cheerleaders at
majority of schools and universities ? Safety is an issue for both sports because males can easily
break a bone by tumbling or stunting the wrong way, and woman can break a bone by getting
tackled roughly or landing the wrong way. There are high paying careers for football players and
cheerleaders; therefore females should be allowed an equal chance of making the money that The
National Football League pays male athletes to play football and males should be allowed the

The Reunion Research Paper
The Reunion
Her name is Mallory Pikes, she used to be an extremely admired cheerleader at Westview High
School. She was always at the top of the pyramid, routinely securing first place for the dance
competitions with her acrobatics. Anyone would want to go out with her, or die trying. She was
115 pounds, 5 foot, 4 inches, with great 32B tits, a flat sculpted belly and rocking hips.
People in her family gained weight easy, and could almost never take it off. Her mom was close to
230, and her dad was around 260. When they were young, they ate what they wanted and gained,
never taking the weight off. Mallory had managed to avoid that so far, but soon, that would all
change.
After school, Mallory would go to Jeff s house, her boyfriend, and smoke pot in his attic; Jeff
was the one who really convinced her to start smoking. A bunch of other kids from school would
meet there and they would all talk about various things: who was the best person on Jersey Shore,
why did the school start doing ordered parking, when is the first football game of the season, et
cetera.
This daily routine led to her having complications with the school. During her ... Show more content

for people to let loose a little, so she wasn t the only one indulging. At first, no one noticed her
gain. It wasn t very noticeable until around 15 pounds into her journey. She knew that her days
of physical activity were over. But, she also found that her weight helped even her out, and she
enjoyed. She thought that she always a little too skinny, so some fat would be good for her. Her

Analysis Of The Movie Dope
I recently watched the Netflix movie, Dope, a coming of age movie that doubles as a parody
and a dedication to the 1990s vintage ghetto generation. Malcolm and his friends Jib and Diggy
are nerdy high school seniors who bond over anything 90s related, play music together in their
punk band, and have grown up together in The Bottoms, in Inglewood, California. Malcolm was
trying to escape a gang one day when he had an encounter with a neighborhood drug dealer
named Dom. Dom ended up invited him to his birthday party, and with hesitation, Malcolm and
his friends decide to go. After an eventful night, Malcolm and his friends later discover that Dom
had stashed a handgun and a large amount of drugs in his backpack to hide it from the police
who raided the party. The rest of the movie plays out into a war over the drugs that Malcolm
accidentally possessed. Malcolm ends up selling the drugs and promises Dom s prominent
supplier, who was also coincidentally Malcolm s college interviewer, the profits made from the
drugs. Malcolm makes this deal with him only as long as he helps Malcolm achieve his goal of
getting into Harvard. Malcolm ends up setting up the supplier with the police while still getting
into Harvard and finally being able to get out of the hood. In terms of black masculinity, Malcolm
counteracts the hyper aggressive stereotypesthat some have in their head about young African
American men. In the movie Dope, numerous aspects of intersectionality are represented in

Fashion or Textile Designers and History
To what extent have fashion/textile designers working over the last thirty years used historical
sources to inform their practice?
History offers invaluable inspiration for contemporary designers, helping to develop and inform
ideas. Exploration of history creates a context to work within and build concepts from, helping to
add value and vigour. In this essay I will explore and explain how designers have used the past to
inform their work, whether an expression of political, social, or traditional opinions. I will
particularly focus on Alexander McQueen s political approach, and how he addresses his ancestral
history. I will also look at Vivienne Westwoods work and how it challenges but also commemorates
tradition. Next, I will study Cath Kidston s play on vintage and how she evokes nostalgia.
Vivienne Westwood
Westwood s epoch began all about rebellion and confrontation. Along with her partner Malcolm
McLaren, they opened their first shop Let it Rock in 1971 (Price 2014), in which they made and
sold Teddy boy style clothes a rebellion against the popular hippie fashion that lingered on from the
late sixties. We can see her use of historical inspiration, using the rock and roll character to oppose
the carefree, light hearted hippie influence. In a time of recession and mass youth unemployment,
she used her divergent rock fashions to prompt the younger generations to challenge blithe fashions
and confront politics and the hypocrisy of British tradition and good

Concert Swingin In The Opera House At Moores Opera House
Prior to attending the concert Swingin In The Opera House at Moores Opera House, I had very
little experience attending concerts. Aside from few band performances I attended back in middle
and elementary school, I was never exposed to the world of concerts and performances. Going into
this concert, I was expecting great things since it was my first college concert. To my expectations,
everything seemed perfect when I first walked in. The lighting of the operahouse was set just right
and I could see all the performers lined up in front with their instruments ready to play. There were
many instruments playing during the performances. I noticed saxophones, trumpets, trombones,
and several instruments such as the guitar and piano that kept the rhythm going. There was a
conductor during the performance leading all the performers on when to play. It was apparent that
he did a great job since all the instruments were in sync and played at all the right times. Overall the
audiencewas extremely respectful. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance and it set a great
mood in the opera house. One piece that I really enjoyed in the program was Cherokee arranged by
Frank Mantooth. Initially in the piece when the trumpets were playing by themselves, things
seemed like they were going to be off... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In class, I would go over several of the instruments that will be played during the concert and see if
the students are able to see and hear the difference between them. Another key point that could be
discussed is dynamics. Since this piece had very distinguishable forte and piano sections, I feel like
the students would be able to pick up on these distinctions while listening to the piece. Emphasizing
proper etiquette when it comes to being part of the audience is also important since young students
tend to talk a lot among each

Early evidence can tell how well the humans adapted to their climate, differences in male and female body size, and how adapted early human species were for walking upright. Early on people thought that there was only a single line of human species. After further research, the other early human species died out and Homo sapiens are the sole surviving species. Archaeology can help understand evolution by the artifacts found near areas inhabited by Homo. The tools and sediments found inside caves can give anthropologist a better timeline for what their level of intellectual ability. Tools can tell a significant amount about their social lifestyle. Finding places were a campfire was burned over a period of time means that they most likely cooked and even spent social time around the fire. Further evidence suggest the cooking of when anthropologist found fragments of bones mixed with ash. The ability to manipulate fire let them live in cave dwellings and on the ground instead of in trees. The safety of fire allowed them to sleep on the ground not having to fear predators, which would otherwise hunt them during the night. • 7. Persuasion As A Political Leader In today s society, we are easily influenced to think and act a certain way. For example, we are influenced by the media to buy things and meet certain standards, however, we often don t protest or question why. Through persuasion, one alters another s perspective on an event or occurrence and because of this, people usually tend to accept what is being said or portrayed. According to Petty and Cacioppo (1986), there are two routes to persuasion. When one tries to persuade another by being more caring and have a good understanding of the message they are delivering, this is called the central route to persuasion. The second route to persuasion is better known as the peripheral route to persuasion. This occurs when the one being addressed simply agrees with what is being said based on certain superficial cues rather than the actual message. Political persuasion methods are widely used, especially in campaigns. As a political leader, one detains the ultimate power to influence the population. Being a political leader, however, is never easy. Sometimes, one must make tough decisions that many of the population might not agree on. For instance, if a person in power chose to bomb a foreign country, this would create mayhem and thus his followers or just people in society would start to doubt his decision and may lead to riots. This specific political leader must debate his case and persuade the population that his decision was the right thing to do. In order to do so, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the media like most things it was always negativity, talking about the different wars or bombing that happened in Israel. Then when I seen Spike Lee X it was awesome I wanted to sign up. Being eleven I tried to get as much info on Islam as I could. My parents was tickled one being Buddhist and the other a catholic, great they said. They really never were against it or try to stop me. That s what made them awesome. So the running joke up to now they called me all kind Arabic names, but one stuck was Muhammad. As I reached young adulthood Islam definitely had a slant on them how they were portrayed in the news. Can t blame a religion or the Muslim people for what a bunch of radicals did. Islam is the third major monotheistic religion in the Abrahamic tradition. It has 1.3 billion followers, mainly in northern Africa, west and south Asia. It was formed in 622 CE, with origins in or around the Arabian Peninsula. Islam means surrender or submission was founded by the teachings of the prophet Muhammad of surrendering the will to Allah. Allah is god in Arabic, the maker, creator, and sustainer of all things of life and everything in this universe. Muhammad is considered to be the last prophet of god. An example of a real life event is when in the show they had the government shutdown in Pawnee which was inspired by the real life global financial crisis of 2007 2008. In addition, the writers spent some time researching local California politics and attended Los Angeles City Council meetings to have a better understating of what goes on. In those meetings, they had the opportunity to observe community hearings were attended only by those people that opposed, often upset, to the proposals under consideration. If the government wanted to they could monitor your internet use. While this could be helpful it is also harmful. I do not think the government should be able to monitor your internetuse, unless they have a reason to. While monitoring internet content does not violate any of the amendment it is an invasion of privacy. Most young adults and teens only use the internet as means of communicating. It does not harm anyone in any way. While most people are using internet for good, some people may not be. There are many cases of cyber bullying that could be going on, and adults may not know. Since cyber bullying is becoming a bigger issue as technology advances, and certain apps come out that could be used for bullying it could be helpful to be able to monitor internet use. • 13. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest By Donald Trump Donald Trump s run for presidency brings faithful supporters, angry critics, and a plethora of headlines. Supportive followers ignore the plentiful reasons that deem Trump unfit for presidency. For example, on several occasions comments and statements made by Trump paint him as sexist and racist. In addition, Trump shares similarities with Adolf Hitler, an unsettling realization. However, those who support Donald Trumpargue that his economic experience as well as his honesty outweigh the long list of his faults. America, a country considered a melting pot, requires a president capable of accepting those of different races and religions. Donald Trump s openly racist remarks disqualify him from holding presidency. In a speech, Trump made the assertion that all Muslim people should be barred from entering the U.S. (Pulliman Moore). In response, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest stated What Donald Trump said yesterday disqualifies him from serving as president (Pulliman Moore). In addition, House Speaker Paul Ryan insisted that religious freedom was a fundamental Constitutional principle (Pulliman Moore). Trump clearly crossed the line with his comment. • 14. Chaos In Lord Of The Flies Essay The quote, Chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered, by Jose Saramago, explains the importance of keeping order in civilization. When order does not exist or is not enforced, civilization begins to collapse or breaks down which, in turn, proceeds to ensue chaos. When Piggy discovers the conch in the story, Lord of The Flies, by William Golding, he uses it to establish order on the island, but when he dies order ceases to exist. The first line in the poem, In A Dark Time, is eerily similar to the boys situation of order and civility on the island. When Piggy first observed the conch in the beginning of the story he decided that they should use that conch to preserve order in the tribe. Piggy explains to the group, We can use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After Piggy s death the boys on the island could not be more divided. The boys had split into two groups, Jack and his tribe and Ralph who is now alone due to Piggy s death. Dark, darker my light, and darker my desire, (Stanza 3), as said by Roethke. The boys are only falling into deeper chaos on the island, and are continuing to become more savage. Jack s desires, in particular, are becoming darker because he proceeds to throw spears and hunt down Ralph after he had witnessed Piggy s death. This is a great representation of how the boys are becoming more barbaric with the actions that they are taking. At first the boys desires were to get rescued. However, now Jack is coming to the realization that they will probably not be rescued and he wants to hunt down and kill Ralph. Jack starts reinstating to the boys on the island that he is their leader. Piggy s death is the symbolization of the breakdown of order and the beginning of disunity on the island. This breakdown of order is clearly delineated in the book. Jack sees the chance to kill Ralph right after Piggy is killed because Ralph is vulnerable, and alone against Jack and his tribe. Jack takes it upon himself to declare himself as the leader, I m chief! (Page 181). Jack sees the opportunity to proclaim himself as leader of the boys after Piggy dies and the conch is destroyed. • 15. Lexical Approach To English Language Teaching CHAPTER 2: REVIEW OF LITERATURE Introduction: Lexical Approach and English Language Teaching The Lexical Approach is based on the idea that language is made up of other structural elements besides what we traditionally think of as grammar. Instruction focuses on relatively fixed expressions that occur frequently in spoken language rather than on originally created sentences (Lewis, 1997a). This digest provides an overview of the methodological foundations underlying the lexical approach and the pedagogical implications. The lexical approach to foreign language teaching has received interest in recent years as an alternative to grammar based approaches. The lexical approach concentrates on developing learners proficiency with lexis, or words and word combinations. • 16. Judaism And Judaism Since the rise of Judaism, Jewish followers have faced an extensive history of exploitation. The cultural and religious practices of Judaism were foreign and unfathomable during this time, especially for other religious groups like Christians. Jews were not necessarily understood and were perceived as being Greedy, wanderers, untrustworthy, and failures (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). Ultimately Judaisms vision was rejected and the followers were unwelcome in the kingdom, leading to the diaspora. Once the dispersal of Jews occurred, they were living in the surrounding areas rather than living within close proximity to one another. Judaism evolved and diversified due to the diaspora, and later immigration. Today, the Jewish religion that used to have one common set of practices now differs between the four sects of the religion. These include Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Secular. Although there are distinct religious differences, the branches of Judaism are bound together by the values, traditions, and historical experiences, creating a unified group of people. One difference that falls under the category of traditions among Jews is keeping kosher. Kashruth entails following specific dietary requirements such as not mixing meat and dairy or eating pork and shellfish. (Fermaglich, lecture, 07 September 2017). • 17. Essay on The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God The ontological argument is an a priori argument. The arguments attempt to prove God s existence from the meaning of the word God. The ontological argument was introduced by Anselm of Canterbury in his book Proslogion. Anselm s classical argument was based on two principals and the two most involved in this is St Anselm of Canterbury as previously mentioned and Rene Descartes. The ontological argument argues that if you understand what it means to talk about God, you will see His existence is necessarily true. Anselm defined God as that than which nothing greater can be conceived , hence God must exist. Anselm also believed that even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If He did not exist, then you could still think of an even greater being (one just like God that you said did not exist, except this one would exist). Existence must be one of God s attributes because to remove it, you would still be able to fathom a greater God (one which does exist). The problem most have with this argument is that it seems to simply list existence among God s attributes, rather than show it. The argument appears to say whatever you can imagine should be true in reality. Descartes claimed God exists is true, if we know what it means to talk of God. Similarly, he maintained that once we know what a triangle is we know that it must have three sides. Like a triangle inherently must have three sides, so God inherently must exist. Objections to the ontological argument were first brought up by a monk who was a contemporary of Anselm named Gaunilo. He said that according to Anselm s line of reasoning, if he envisioned an island that is beautiful and sparkling and completely perfect, then it must exist. It is a reaction to a perceived threat to us, or some part of our identity. Anger motivates powerful and aggressive feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and defend ourselves when we are attacked. Anger is a warning bell that tells us that something is wrong. Anger is a vitally important evolutionary gift and without it we are perpetual victims. Anger can be a good thing, it allows expressing negative feelings. Oppression is considered the main mover of the French Revolution that led to the extreme anger of revolutionaries. In A Tale of Two Cities , Dickens portrays the bad conditions that led French people to anger and rise for their rights. Prior to the French Revolution, high aristocrats had no sympathy towards the poor; all they cared about was their ability to do as they pleased. According to Christopher Dentel, The aristocrats have no concern and no sympathy for the poor; they know they are suffering and they do not care. The marquis represents the evil and cruelty of the aristocracy. He shows completely no regard for human life. Oppression in a Tale of Two Cities expresses between two cities England and France that shows that the ruling class of Aristocrats has oppressed the people. In France, the ruling class of aristocrats has oppressed the people for so long that many are starving. The peasants were treated cruelly by the corrupt ruling class, which lives in lavish opulence. One of the most common superconductors used in low temperature experiments for this purpose is niobium titanium alloy (NbTi). At very low temperatures, NbTi can transfer an order of magnitude less heat than non superconducting cables [2]. However, titanium and titanium alloys form oxides when exposed to air, and these oxides make soldering to NbTi cables nearly impossible. While solderless methods of connectorizing cables exist, the machines required are expensive and purpose built for one size of cable [3]. A better candidate for connectorization is electroplating, which has been one of the focuses of my research in Professor Lafyatis and Professor Gauthier s groups at The Ohio State University. By studying various electroplating techniques, I aim to create a simpler, less expensive procedure which would allow our group to produce these cables on demand to use with our SNSPDs. In the past, companies have used nickel electroplating of NbTi cables, which is described in a patent by Saubestre and Bulan in 1961 [4]. However, this technique has two issues that prevent it from being useful in for plating NbTi today. First, the metal being plated is nickel, which is ferromagnetic. In recent years, there have been many experiments at cold temperatures that are highly sensitive to magnetism, including research using SQUIDs, magnetometers, or nuclear magnetic resonance, making nickel a poor choice of plating ... The For A Jubilee During The Sizzling Summer Months As the calm brackish waters lapse onto the shores of Point Clear to Daphne, many people are hopeful for a Jubilee during the sizzling summer months. The neighbors of this community always alert one another to the sound of bells ringing and the eager cries of Jubilee! Everyone will come rushing down to the shore with their laundry baskets, gigs, nets, sacks, and almost anything you can imagine in order to gather an abundant supply of seafood. A Jubilee occurs when coincidental conditions in the bay result in disoriented deep sea animals such as flounders, shrimps, crabs, and other sea creature are driven to the shallow waters and into the nets of Mobile fishermen. The term Jubilee is often defined as A season of rejoice. The term seems to be so positive; however, this event could potentially be harmful to the fish. Let us first begin with the history of Jubilees. Records of the events have been recorded in early newspapers and by memory of a few old timers. I would take the dog and put them outside as soon as possible after catching them in the act. I would do this at least three times to get the dog to learn to go outside. On top of that if I saw the dog use the bathroom while outside I would use positive reinforcement by giving the dog a treat or a good belly rub. If the dog kept using the bathroom inside after trying reinforcement several times I would move on to punishment. Throughout my life the way my family housebreaks their dogs is they rub the dogs face in the feces then put them outside immediately. The dog would not be allowed back inside for quite a while. • 40. Christmas Tree Essay During the holidays, a tree will go up somewhere in the household at some undecided time. It varies from year to year, but the Christmas tree will usually go up in my room because I prefer to have a Christmas tree, whereas my parents could go without one. The Christmas tree goes up when it is most convenient, which varies from year to year. Sometimes this is towards the end of Thanksgiving break, but other times it may not be until two or three weeks into December. My familyhas had real trees in the past but real trees are kind of a hassle. Because of this, we have stuck with artificial trees the past few years. When we used to get a real tree, my father would buy one of the trees for sale at Marketplace and set it up by himself. Once... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We used to hang simple, red stockings in the living room. We no longer hang stockings and have not done so in years. I had discovered where Santa s gifts come from at an early age, so certain traditions that revolved around Santa came to a quick halt. When my cousins and I were younger, we would all make sugar cookies with our Nana. We would cut out the cookies into shapes, such as a star, stocking, or snowman. Then we would decorate the cookies with multiple colors of frosting and red and green sprinkles. There was not an order to who cut out what shapes or who decorated what shapes. This tradition had stopped relatively quickly, once my eldest cousin had reached high school. Now if I bake during the holidays, I try out recipes I find on Pinterest and bake by myself. I normally enjoy them myself and leave extras in the fridge for my parents. Other times when I have made extra baked goods I will gift them to others. • 42. Analysis Of John 10 s The Good Shepherd And Christ s... Jesus s stories and words bring both comfort and revelation to people around the world. The stories that are contained in the four Gospels are those that share Christ s doctrine as well as the history of the Savior. However, to say that the Gospel stories and doctrine cannot be applied to the modern reader would be incorrect. One of these Gospels, John, contains a particularly important message for both the historical and modern reader. In John 10, a variety of integral stories and important doctrine is outlined. In John 10, both the story of the Good Shepherd and Christ s interactions with the Jewish leaders give insight to the historical reference and meaning of the doctrine in a modern setting. John 10 is a very interesting and important block of scripture. It covers the idea of Christ as the Good Shepherd. He states in John 10:11, I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. This presents one of the main ideas of John 10, which is that Christ is the leader of His sheep, which are His people. He declares that the good shepherd will die for his flock, which is exactly what Christ does. He also defends his statements from the Jewish leaders, as they want to stone him for uttering such blasphemy , according to Blair G. VanDyke. He uses both old scriptures and logic to defend his position, which brings interesting implications in a modern context. Both of these ideas and their importance can be viewed in differing perspectives from both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was always at the top of the pyramid, routinely securing first place for the dance competitions with her acrobatics. Anyone would want to go out with her, or die trying. She was 115 pounds, 5 foot, 4 inches, with great 32B tits, a flat sculpted belly and rocking hips. People in her family gained weight easy, and could almost never take it off. Her mom was close to 230, and her dad was around 260. When they were young, they ate what they wanted and gained, never taking the weight off. Mallory had managed to avoid that so far, but soon, that would all change. After school, Mallory would go to Jeff s house, her boyfriend, and smoke pot in his attic; Jeff was the one who really convinced her to start smoking. A bunch of other kids from school would meet there and they would all talk about various things: who was the best person on Jersey Shore, why did the school start doing ordered parking, when is the first football game of the season, et cetera. • 45. Analysis Of The Movie Dope I recently watched the Netflix movie, Dope, a coming of age movie that doubles as a parody and a dedication to the 1990s vintage ghetto generation. Malcolm and his friends Jib and Diggy are nerdy high school seniors who bond over anything 90s related, play music together in their punk band, and have grown up together in The Bottoms, in Inglewood, California. Malcolm was trying to escape a gang one day when he had an encounter with a neighborhood drug dealer named Dom. Dom ended up invited him to his birthday party, and with hesitation, Malcolm and his friends decide to go. After an eventful night, Malcolm and his friends later discover that Dom had stashed a handgun and a large amount of drugs in his backpack to hide it from the police who raided the party. The rest of the movie plays out into a war over the drugs that Malcolm accidentally possessed. Malcolm ends up selling the drugs and promises Dom s prominent supplier, who was also coincidentally Malcolm s college interviewer, the profits made from the drugs. Malcolm makes this deal with him only as long as he helps Malcolm achieve his goal of getting into Harvard. Malcolm ends up setting up the supplier with the police while still getting into Harvard and finally being able to get out of the hood. In terms of black masculinity, Malcolm counteracts the hyper aggressive stereotypesthat some have in their head about young African American men. In the movie Dope, numerous aspects of intersectionality are represented in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Fashion or Textile Designers and History To what extent have fashion/textile designers working over the last thirty years used historical sources to inform their practice? History offers invaluable inspiration for contemporary designers, helping to develop and inform ideas. Exploration of history creates a context to work within and build concepts from, helping to add value and vigour. In this essay I will explore and explain how designers have used the past to inform their work, whether an expression of political, social, or traditional opinions. I will particularly focus on Alexander McQueen s political approach, and how he addresses his ancestral history. I will also look at Vivienne Westwoods work and how it challenges but also commemorates tradition. Next, I will study Cath Kidston s play on vintage and how she evokes nostalgia. Vivienne Westwood Westwood s epoch began all about rebellion and confrontation. Along with her partner Malcolm McLaren, they opened their first shop Let it Rock in 1971 (Price 2014), in which they made and sold Teddy boy style clothes a rebellion against the popular hippie fashion that lingered on from the late sixties. We can see her use of historical inspiration, using the rock and roll character to oppose the carefree, light hearted hippie influence. In a time of recession and mass youth unemployment, she used her divergent rock fashions to prompt the younger generations to challenge blithe fashions and confront politics and the hypocrisy of British tradition and good ... • 47. Concert Swingin In The Opera House At Moores Opera House Prior to attending the concert Swingin In The Opera House at Moores Opera House, I had very little experience attending concerts. Aside from few band performances I attended back in middle and elementary school, I was never exposed to the world of concerts and performances. Going into this concert, I was expecting great things since it was my first college concert. To my expectations, everything seemed perfect when I first walked in. The lighting of the operahouse was set just right and I could see all the performers lined up in front with their instruments ready to play. There were many instruments playing during the performances. I noticed saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and several instruments such as the guitar and piano that kept the rhythm going. There was a conductor during the performance leading all the performers on when to play. It was apparent that he did a great job since all the instruments were in sync and played at all the right times. Overall the audiencewas extremely respectful. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance and it set a great mood in the opera house. One piece that I really enjoyed in the program was Cherokee arranged by Frank Mantooth.
