compulsive disorder is a disorder which affects approximately 2 to 3 percent of the population
(Salkovskis, 2007) (Taylor Reeder, 2015). Cognitive behavioral therapyis a method of treatment
recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, with the results
proving to be effective ( Abramowitz, Foa, Franklin, 2003; Anderson Rees, 2007; Department of
Health, 2001; NICE, 2006; Storch et al., 2008) (Taylor Reeder, 2015). Likewise, group cognitive
behavioral therapy is a proven effective treatment for OCD, with similar results shown from

This week I have been struggling with centering my paper topic. I want to explore the use of
psychedelics in spirit possessions. More specifically, I want to explore the validity of drug
induced shamanistic experiences like in the case of Amazonian Shamans and their use of

Introduction: why does this matter? Origin story and meaning The Samoans are an ethnic group
that reside in Oceania, on the islands of Samoa, in an area of Polynesia. Samoa has been
occupied by these indigenous people for about 3000 years, when they came from the west,
occupying the islands of Fiji and Tonga around the same time (Barnes and Hunt 2005, 243). They
carry many traditions with their culture, however, I will be discussing their tradition of tattooing.
Tattooing is the process of inserting ink pigment into someone s skin to create a permanent design
on them. For Samoans, tattoos are much more significant than just a pretty piece of artwork, they
are, according to Ryman (2004), a right of passage. I will be reviewing the importance of cultural
tattoos, the process of being tattooed, and the varying origin stories of how tattooing first came to

(Miller 64) Willy was sure that he was amazing at his job even though it was untrue. Yelling at
howard, Willy most likely lost his job right here in this instance as Howard was already tired of
Willy since he did nothing but mislead. He no longer has income and can provide for his family
because of his actions. Even when Willy gets job offer from Charley, he just denies the offer for
no real justifiable reason. CHARLEY: You want a job? WILLY: I got a job, I told you that.
[After a slight pause] What the hell are you offering me a job for? CHARLEY: Don t get
insulted. WILLY: Don t insult me (Miller 29) Even in the circumstances that Willy s in, he decides
to not take the job because he believes to be better than Charley. His own actions lead him to his
downfall.
Pride is also a big factor in Willy s character. His pride kept him from moving forward to get back
on his feet. CHARLEY: I offered you a job. You can make fifty dollars a week. And I won t send
you on the road. WILLY: I ve got a job. CHARLEY: Without pay? What kind of a job is without
pay? [He rises] Now look kid, enough is enough. I m no genius but I know when I m being
insulted. WILLY: Insulted!

The Importance Of Religions In William Shakespeare s Hamlet
During Shakespeare s time, the two major religions in Elizabethan
England were the Catholic and Protestant religions. The convictions and
beliefs in these different religions were so strong that they led to the
executions of many adherents to both of these. Adhering to the wrong
religion brought risk to personal wealth, freedom, and life. Elizabethan
Protestants also believed that only God could forgive. William
Shakespeare s famous tragic play, Hamlet was written during this era.
Hamlet introduces us to religion and how the religious thought and
decisions shaped the impact of the actions of the people in this
play.Hamlet, a play about incest and murder depicts the effects of sin and
afterlife. O, that this too too solid flesh would melt.......But break, my heart; for I
must hold my tongue (Hamlet 64). Hamlet s wish is for his flesh to melt into
dew, but if only God hadn t made a law against suicide. He describes his
father as an excellent king. However, in less than two months after his
father s death his mother marries his fathers brother, which he calls an
incest. He compares his father and uncle to God and beast, describing his
father as stronger and mightier than his uncle. This shows how important
religion was in the 16th century. To be or not to be that is the
question......be all my sins remembered. One of Shakespeare s famous
