Inner City Schools Vs Boarding Schools Essay
Based on the video, it is clear that the SEED school is a great institute that offers an amazing
opportunity to inner city children. Most inner city students do not graduate from high school or even
have a chance to pursue a higher education due to the detrimental public school systems located in
cities. Children who are more privileged have the option of attending boarding schools that provide an
exceptional education for students. However, these private or boarding schools have an astronomical
price tag associated with them. Unfortunately, a majority of inner city students who have the potential
to do great things cannot afford to attend these institutions. As a result, they are unfairly subjected to
the caustic education of inner city public schools. With the SEED school, however, these students are
given the chance to attend a boarding school that provides an effective education and meets a higher
standard for learning. What makes the SEED school so great is that the cost of tuition is free, allowing
students from poor households to attend. Moreover, the affordability of this school does not interfere
with the quality of education. Even though students are paying nothing to attend, they still receive a
very rigorous curriculum and have access to numerous resources.
Even though this school only accepts a limited number of students, it is ... Show more content on

The SEED school provides the opportunity for students who normally would not be able to afford
private school to attend a boarding school. This gives more students the chance to learn at a higher
level and ultimately become better rounded individuals. With more inner city students receiving the
opportunity to attend more rigorous schools, it is likely that our society will produce more educated
individuals. Ultimately, our society would benefit as a whole if more schools were to follow the idea

Biome are Constellations of Adaptations
Biomes are appropriate conditions for organizing the natural world because the organisms that live in
them common constellations of adaptations, particularly the climate of each of the areas and the
characteristic vegetation types that develops in these divisions. It should be understood that the
climate is perhaps the most important in determining classes of individuals who may live in an area
and the ways they should be amended to live under different conditions of temperature and
precipitation and seasonal distribution of these factors element. Every place on Earth has its own
climate, influenced by both macroclimate regions as the particular microclimate. The soils are very
important because they are essential to determine the types of plants that will grow into a bioclimatic
zone in partical, in addition, also as substrates for animals serve. In turn, the soils are heavily
influenced by regional climate, as well as the geology of the bedrock. At the same time we have to
keep in mind the diversity of plants like the flora just like the diversity of the fauna as well as the
adaptation of both. The tundra Plant life tends to be of low growth and, during the short summer, the
birds arrive in large numbers to feed on the insects that are born in this period. The climate is cold
summers and very cold winters characterize the tundra area in the northern most limit plant growth.

Thor the Superhero
Thor
A superhero is a person who possesses immense herculean strength and sorcerous abilities. Many
superheroes can accomplish this, but there is one that can do this more exceptional than any other!
This superhero is extremely important in Norse mythology as he is the God of Thunder. He was gifted
with an enchanted hammer which can only be lifted by someone who is worthy enough. The hammer
can control elements of storms like lightning, wind and thunder to help him vanquish his enemies. Did
you ever question yourself who this amazing superhero could be? This splendid superhero s name is
Thor! Thor is the most supreme superhero of all time because he has super strength, his perceiving
personality and his enchanted hammer called Mjolnir. Thor s super powers play a major role when
fighting villains to serve justice. Thor did not recognize his unbelievable superpowers right away, in
fact, he did not realize that he was even Thor until later on in his life. He was first a psychiatric nurse
called Thorlief Golmen. One day he suffered a nervous breakdown before his 30th birthday. During
the 18 months he spent institutionalized, he claims to have realized who he was and why he has been
sent to Earth. This is when he realized he was Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, to save the planet.

Application Of A Distributed Agricultural Sensor Network
Abstract As the world s population continues to grow, new agricultural technologies will be needed to
keep up with the growing demand. To accomplish this, agricultural systems must increase production
while at the same time more effectively utilizing and conserving the resources that go into that
production. One possible solution is the collection and analysis of environmental data. IoT sensor
networks can cheaply provide distributed data that can be used to improve plant health, increase
harvest yields, and decrease waste. The primary focus of this project will be to prototype a distributed
agricultural sensor network that will be able to monitor the environment, network and analyze the data
on the cloud, and finally provide feedback to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an active area of IoT research and will be the primary focus of this project. If data can be
effectively gathered, networked, and analyzed, then that data can then be used to impart real and
significant change on the environment. For agricultural systems this will result in improved plant
health, increased harvest yields, and decreased waste. A. Background One of the most utilized and
standardized IoT stacks is the IEEE 802.11.4, 6LoWPAN, RPL, and CoAP stack. The IoT stack layers
are similar to OSI and they share many of the same abstraction layer divisions. These similarities
assist with the interoperability of IoT protocols with those of the Internet. The IEEE802.15.4 protocol
defines the physical and link layers of stack. These layers define how data is modulated onto the
channel, how the channel is shared between multiple users, as well as the low level packet checks and
retransmissions. IEEE802.15.4 operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band using Quadrature Phase Shift
Keying with additional Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum encoding. This allows the radio to better
reject noise and other interference. IEEE802.15.4 utilizes 16, 5MHz channels in order to generate a
data throughput of 250kbps. The maximum payload size is 127 Bytes [1]. Compared to WiFi, the data
rate and maximum packet size is significantly less. These characteristics are the result of the limited
hardware used for

Workplace Observation Essay
In the workplace there are many different aspects of the organization. Some of the aspects or culture
of an organization are organizational diversity, dress and language, how communication flows, and
organizational policies. Below I will discuss several aspects of the company I work for and define
what the different cultures are.
How Communication Flows
As we know today there are many ways how to communicate. There is email, verbal, Internet,
intranet, etc? However, there is only two ways communications flows. There is upward
communication defined as ?communication from an employee to supervisor, supervisor to department
head, department head to vice president, and so on.? (Abbott 2005) The other flow is downward
communication, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my organization all the different departments of the company contribute to the Policies manual. The
policy is reviewed yearly, and addendums are made. The IT dept which is the department I am in, add
to the policy?s about Internet Usage, Email usage, storage sizes of the mailboxes etc.. We clearly state
that anything, is done on the company?s computer is subject to monitoring. In many cases mangers
advise that they want a specific employee?s Internet monitored, or email monitored. We then report
back to the manger that requested it, and they take it up with Human Resources. Our rule is that a
county manager has to request it, and has to be good reasoning. Other departments, like the legal
counsel talk about arbitration, before going to any courts. The accounting dept talks about fraud, the
human resource department talks about attendance, and leave of absences, benefits etc? you get the
idea. As you can see this easily answers many question when a new employee comes on board.
Dress and Language
The Dress code is usually defined in the policy handbook to clearly state what is expected of the
employee. There is no standard set, however, in a business environment it?s expected that women and
men dress in a formal manner shirts, slacks, ties, etc? In a restaurant they may have a uniform, at the
mall it may be that stores clothing in

The Beer Industry Is A Competitive
The beer industry is a competitive, many faceted enterprise. In every industry, there is competition as
customers have a variety of product alternatives and every competitor are collectively competing with
one another (Ayub et al, 2013). In 2012, over 1,750 breweries operated in the United States (U.S.),
with over 1,920 the following year (Brewers, 2015). The industry s 2013 total dollar retail value was
$7.6 billion dollars as pint consumption amount of 50 billion pints at an average price of $3.87 per
pint (Brewers, 2015). Overall, the industry claims $196 billion in yearly beer revenue, equal value to
Columbia s Gross Domestic Product (GDP (Brewers, 2015). By February 2015, over 28 million beer
barrels have been manufactured, compared against 29 million by February 2014 (DOT, 2015).
Companies are willing to spend capital to achieve a percentage of those returns. In 2012, beer
companies spent more than $1 billion on TV ads, an increase from $950 million in 2009 (Steinberg,
2013). Anheuser Busch averaged about $1.42 billion in advertising per year (Austin, 2012). Molson
Coors, on the other hand, spent over $486 million in advertising and promotion for 2014 (Molson
Coors, 2015). As part of developing market strategies, a company should know where it is strong or
slack, as well as consider past experiences and future possibilities. One such means is a SWOT
analysis. The worth of this tool lies in its simplicity and clarity by scrutinizing the internal

The Purpose Of Copyright Laws
The purpose of copyright laws in modern society, as confirmed by Darrell Panethiere (2005) is to
protect the creative rights of authors, performers, publishers, broadcasters, and many others whose
livelihoods depend upon the recognition of rights (p. 1, par. 1) for their intellectual properties. In the
contemporary business world, most companies that sell products of some kind depend on other firms
for the design, production, and distribution of the product to make it available for selling. Such sales
are often either wholesale to retailers or retail to consumers. Violations of the copyrights of intellectual
property (IP), destroys the chain of commerce reflected in these different industries; which also
includes the loss of employment to workers in each industry. In short, copyright laws protect the
motivation of creativity, the investment of commerce, plus the employment of a labor force.
WHY COPYRIGHT LAWS?
As recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, n.d.), in the Protection of
Industrial Property (p. 4, par. 2) during the Paris Convention of 1883 as well as in the Protection of
Literary and Artistic Works (p. 4, par. 2) during the Berne Convention of 1886, both acknowledges the
valuation developed and emerging societies attribute to intellectual properties. Therefore, the
protection of these values is justified with laws.
Intellectual property is identified as mental conceptions in fixed form which are perceptible by human

The Assassination Of The War And Formation Of Civil Rights
Political Assassination
Danielle Ferreira
U.S Government
Date
Introduction Political assassination is defined as the act of killing a political figure mainly for political
reasons. In most cases, the motive behind political assassinations is beyond the person who is killed.
Assassinations have been rampant across the globe for ages and these assassinations do cause lots of
political instabilities in a country especially when key personalities such as heads of states are the
victims. In this essay, we shall discuss some of the major assassinations which occurred in history.
These personalities include John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Julius
Caesar and Robert F. Kennedy.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many conspiracy theories have tried to explain who was responsible for Kennedy s murder and some
have cited the involvement of the USSR, FBI, CIA and Cuba among others. The death of Kennedy
remains a mystery despite numerous investigations which have since been carried. There have been no
conclusive prove that Oswald murdered the president and even if he did, people still do not believe
that he acted alone as reported by the Warren Commission.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther was a civil rights activist, a clergy and one of the key
personalities behind the formation of the American Civil Rights Movement. The major goal of the
movement was to advocate for the abolishment the racial discrimination of the African Americans
population. King was shot on 4th April 1968 while he was his motel room at Memphis, Tennessee and
was pronounced dead that evening while in hospital2. After the killing, James Earl Ray, who was
convicted for murdering King, escaped but was arrested after two months in London. Many people
believe that the government was involved in the assassination. Following the death of King, lots of
riots and protests emerged in different cities across US.
Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on 14th April 1865 and was serving as 16th President of the
United States from 1861. Lincoln was killed by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate spy, who was not
happy with how the president supported the African Americans

Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragettes
Separating Right and Wrong: Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragette Movement
Women s suffrage has been one of the unsolved problems of the last two centuries. Today, many
countries constitutionalized women s right to vote; however there remain a few that outlaw it. This
ban resulted in women fighting for the right to vote in the 19th century, which gave birth suffrage
movements. While the suffragettes were emerging from all around the world, The United Kingdom
was the heart of the movement, with Emmeline Pankhurst as one of the main figures and she played a
crucial role in women s suffrage in Britain; however her work has been criticized and argued by
historians for their militant tactics and their effectiveness. To this date, it remains arguable ... Show

Other women all around the world began protesting under the name of Suffragettes and the movement
quickly became epidemic. While there were many approaches in history for the same purpose, United
States, Ireland, Canada and many more women around the world adopted the methods of the
suffragettes to their own cause. The reason why the British suffragettes influenced so many other
women is explained in a research paper by Laura E. Nym Mayhall as ...Once the Liberal government
introduced forcible feeding as an antidote to the suffragette hunger strike, militants created a visual
activism, dependent upon the exhibition of women s tortured bodies as spectacle. By this account, the
activities of the WSPU became exemplary of what critic Barbara Green has called performative
activism and visibility politics in early twentieth century feminist praxis, creating almost entirely
feminine communities where women celebrated, suffered, spoke with, and wrote for other women,
and that allowed women to put themselves on display for other women. Many women in the 19th
century looked up to Emmeline Pankhurst, listened to her speeches, went to her propaganda walks and
adopted her methods and women in Britain gained the right to vote in 1928, for men and women over
21, without any other requests of marital status or property, as other countries followed

Figurative Language In The Masque Of Red Death
Edgar Allan Poe was a famous American writer and literary critic. Poe is best known for his short
stories, particularly his tales of mystery and fear. Poe has a magic and dark way of writing. The
Masque of Red Death is one of Poe s most famous stories. He proficiently used some death
symbolism, bloody imagery, and skillful figurative language in order to contribute to his purpose to
inform his reader impossibility to escape from the death no matter who you are. Through using the
deathly symbolism in this story skillfully, Poe alluded to people to the part of life that people have to
go through without the controled by people. First he described seven chambers (seven rooms in the
palace), In blue...falling in heavy folds upon a carpet of the same material and hue ( Poe 43) . Seven
rooms were represented to seven parts of life the blue room, which is located the east, represents birth.
The next room is purple, suggests the beginnings of growth. Green, the next color, suggests the young
of life the age of spring , orange is the summer and autumn of life is the age of adult . White, the next
color, suggests age with white hair, and bones of the age of old . Violet is a shadowy color, the color
represents people who were near the death . And the last room, the black room, is death. Otherwise,
seven rooms were set up East to West like the position of the Sun. That means that no matter who you
are you have to go through every single part of life and can not escape any

Problem: How does the electronegativity of 1.25 mol/L of hydrochloric acid, 1.25 mol/L of sulphuric
acid, and 1.25 mol/L of nitric acid, affect the rate at which magnesium will react at room
temperature(21°C)?
Background:
A chemical reaction is the rate at which a substance goes through a change and it is transformed into
another substance that has different compositions as well as properties.1 The rate at which a chemical
reaction occurs depends on many factors, some of which include the concentration of a reactant2,
temperature2, collision theory and electronegativity3.

1.25 mol/L of hydrochloric acid, 1.25 mol/L of sulphuric acid, and 1.25 mol/L of nitric acid are being
used because they are obtainable acids that range in electronegativity, which will help satisfy the
purpose of the lab. Magnesium metal is being used because it has an electronegativity that is different
from all acids and it reacts fairly well with all acids in a reasonable amount of time, therefore the
experiment can be better executed. The experiment will be done at room temperature of 21°C to
ensure that the temperature is not speeding up or slowing down the reaction, as well as saving time
and providing more accuracy.
Chemical reactivity and its rate of reactivity is important as is can be applied in life. For example in
medicine, different elements are mixed in a controlled environment to form medicines that are useful
for the treatment of diseases. Also in the production of weapons such as guns and bombs, it is required
for chemicals to react extremely vigorously to make the explosion go off and have the desired effect.6

Mid Tribulation Argument
Mid tribulation believers hold a belief that the church will still be on Earth the first three and one half
years of the tribulation. They believe that the first half of the tribulation they will go through, as well
as the second half (the worst half), will send them to heaven to join God s army. One main supporting
idea for the mid tribulation argument is the thought of separating the lambs and the goats. Mid
tribulationists believe that true Christians and believers in Christ and of God will go through the first
half of the tribulation, hold onto their faith, and persevere onto God. The lamb is referring to the body
of Christ, while the goat is referring to the Devil and those who do not believe in God. Tribulation is

Income Inequality Of The United States
The United States is often viewed as a wealthy and stable country, but as shown in 2011, the richest
fifth of American households received about 51.1 percent of total income, while the poorest fifth
received about 3.2 percent (McConnell). There are many sources of income inequality that effect
poverty in the United States and the role that discrimination plays in reducing and increasing wages
for different people and how the people of the United States are affected by it.
The average household income in the United States is, in fact, one of the highest in the world.
Unfortunately, does not provide information about income inequality. There are two ways to measure
income inequality: distribution by income category and distribution by quintiles. Distribution by
income category involves looking at the percentages of households in a series of income categories.
Distribution of quintiles involves dividing the total number of households into five equal groups or
quintiles and to compare it with the percentage of personal income. The Lorenz Curve is a way to
display the quintile distribution. In a graph showing the Lorenz curve, there is one straight, up sloping
diagonal line that represents a perfectly equal distribution of income, and a second curve of the actual
quintile data that becomes the Lorenz curve. The space in between the two lines represents the amount
of income inequality there is. This information can then be converted into a Gini ratio which is the

Characterization, Symbolism, and Irony in The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is a novel about a young woman who commits
adultery and is forced to wear the letter A, which symbolizes adultery, on her chest. In this novel,
Hawthorne includes many symbols to display hidden meanings, including character symbols to wake
up the reader. Irony is an important element as well, used to reveal the hypocrisy of humankind. The
Scarlet Letter is a unique blend of characters, irony and symbolism. Hester Prynne is first described in

passionate in his religion, and effective in the pulpit (Cliffsnotes). In the beginning of the novel,
Dimmesdale is pictured as a good, quiet man, and the townspeople admire him. He becomes very ill,
and the doctor, Roger Chillingworth, cannot determine what is causing his sickness for quite a while.
Finally, the novel exposes that Dimmesdale is sick because of his horrible guilt. It would seem that he

Personal Narrative-I Want To Become A Nurse
Introduction
When I was younger I always knew that one day I would attend college. When I was younger my
parents always told me that I would attend college. Nursing was my first choice to major in, there was
only one problem, (I wasn t so sure if it was me that actually wanted to major in Nursing, or if it was
my parents decision). When I was younger I was always very energetic and was told I had a bubbly
personality. My friend Chanelle and I decided to have a YouTube channel. We would just do random
things, and talk about our High School days, and give shout outs to people who went to High School
with us. The YouTube channel was called The Natalie and Chanelle Show , we got up to a million
views and we passed out flyers all over the school to advertise our channel on YouTube. As I grew
older I realized that I didn t want to become a Nurse. I wanted to major in Broadcasting Journalism,
and use my voice to communicate with other people.
As I grew older I realized there isn t many Latinas who anchor for the local news Radio stations.

Smallpox Vaccines Argumentative Analysis
Ever since the invention of the first smallpox vaccine by Edward Jenner (In 1788, the scientist Edward
Jenner inoculated a healthy, 8 year old boy with cowpox, a disease caused by a virus that closely
resembles variola, this eventually led to the development of the smallpox vaccine), there has been
much controversy since then over the morality, ethics, effectiveness, and safety of vaccination and
immunization. It has recently been argued whether laws should be introduced that render some or all
vaccines obligatory for all school age children (Singer, 2009). Parents, physicians, school nurses,
teachers and children all have an important voice in this issue. Parents rightfully argue that it is they
who should have the ultimate decision making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It wasn t until a year later, when the Food and Drug Administration recommended removing
thimerosal from childhood vaccines as a precautionary measure, stressing that it could find no positive
link with autism. Then the American press picked up on the debate.
In 2010, after a thorough investigation that revealed not only bad science but also financial conflicts of
interest, the original Lancet paper was retracted by the journal. Part of the costs of Dr. Wakefield s
research were paid by lawyers for parents seeking to sue vaccine makers for damages, Gardiner Harris
wrote in the New York Times. Dr. Wakefield was also found to have patented in 1997 a measles
vaccine that would succeed if the combined vaccine were withdrawn or discredited.
An investigation performed by the journalist Brian Deer found that not one of the 12 cases reported in
the 1998 Lancet paper was free of misrepresentation or undisclosed alteration.

Ernest Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants Essay
WC: 754
Title: Sacred Moments
Close interpretation of the story quot;Hills Like White Elephants quot; by Ernest Hemingway leads
the reader to an issue that has plagued society for decades. Understanding of the human condition is
unveiled in the story line, the main setting, and through the character representation. The main
characters in the story are an American man and a female named Jig. The conflict about abortions is
an issue that still faces society today. Architectural and atmospheric symbolisms are used to set the
mood and outline the human condition. The love bond between the man and Jig is strong; however,
the more powerful bond between Jig and her unborn child is sacred.
Many years ago our society was filled with moral and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The station, a common ground or meeting place, is representative of the relationship between the
American and Jig. The tracks leading in and out of the station describe the emotional pathways each of
them takes. The American is almost exactly opposite to Jig, free spirited and not wanting a change. Jig
is love struck and torn. She has to decide between her love for the American man and her love of her
unborn child. The American is set on convincing Jig that there is no harm in what she is considering.
He tries to calm Jig by telling her quot;We ll be fine afterwards, just like we were before quot;(24). Jig
is not convinced. She is not as confident or as willing as the American to rush off into such a carefree
decision. The luggage, covered with hotel labels, plays a significant part in understanding how Jig
feels in regard to the decision that she had to make. She was obviously torn between remaining
reckless and carefree and making a family with the man she loved. Jig reacts almost visibly in their
conversation.
Building a social wall is the means to an end for Jig in the fight to make her decision. She is willing to
do almost anything for the American but is blocked by her motherly instinct to protect her child. The
American tells Jig quot;We can have everything quot;(24), quot;It s ours quot;(24), but she knows

Internal Control for Inflows
Internal controls are important to a business. The internal controls provide a safeguard against errors
in the accounting system as well as the detection and prevention of fraud. With the inflows of the
company come many risks that need to be considered. The ways in which cash, sales, accounts
receivable, inventory, and production are handled within the company are different for each division.
The internal controls may vary from department to department, but the end result is to protect the
company from the risks that can arise.

If these controls fail, orders could be processed for fictitious customers, credit could be approved for
bad credit risks, and shipping documents could be created for goods that do not exist in the inventory
(Louwers et al., 2007, p. 253).
Another control that is essential to the sales portion is the delivery to the customer. The reason that
this control is important is because this is where the inventoried products or services leave the
company and is reassigned to the customer. Proper authorization is important; employees performing
each of these steps should sign transfer documents so they can be held accountable. This control
procedure will prevent misappropriation the goods or shipping the product to friends without billing
them (Louwers et al., 2007, p. 254). This control maintains the integrity of the process from the
company to the customer, and ensures that the customers are billed correctly.
Each of these controls for the sales portion of inflows are crucial to the company receiving timely and
appropriate payment for the goods and services provided to the customer.
Accounts Receivable
For a company, receiving payment for goods and services is an essential component to maintain the
ability to run operations from a financial standpoint. Regardless of how often billing is completed; the
ability to receive the payments from the customer can be the difference in having a healthy company

The Conservation Of Yellowstone Wildlife Essay
Conservation: Yellowstone is extraordinarily large, with 290 waterfalls, 17 rivers and acreage
spanning across portions of three states. According to Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk, his park
is at the heart of the largest intact ecosystem in the temperate zone in the United States, if not the
world (interview). It s called the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) and within its borders lay two
national parks (Grand Teton and Yellowstone), four national wildlife refuges, and seven national
forests. This important biological reserve is the largest protected area in the lower 48 states and
provides critical habitat for some of the world s most iconic wildlife. Unfortunately, many plant and
animal species today face endangerment, mainly because their natural habitats are being destroyed.
National parks work to conserve wildlife by safeguarding these habitats that provide a safe space for
wildlife to breed and survive. The bison are an emblem of the wildness of the West and a Yellowstone
icon. A struggling population that was almost extinct at the turn of the century has been successfully
recovered. More than 5500 bison now live inside and in areas surrounding Yellowstone park

A Person s Normal Ph Range
A person s normal pH range is between 7.35 and 7.45. (Tortora, G., Derrickson, B. H. ,2014 01 22).
This range is important for the body to function properly. There certain conditions that can cause the
pH range to fluctuate. Acidosis is a condition in which the blood pH is below 7.35 and alkalosis is a
condition in which the blood pH is higher than 7.45. Significant changes in pH range can affect
cellular function and possibly lead to death. Your blood needs the right balance of acid and basic
(alkaline) compounds to function properly . (George, K., 2013)
Respiratory acidosis is a condition that happens when there is too much carbon dioxide in the lungs.
When this happens, the blood becomes too acidic. People with respiratory acidosis will have a pH less
than 7.35 with a PaCO2 greater than 45mm HG. (sitelms.org) This particular form of acidosis can be
caused by diseases of the airways, lungs, and chest. It can also be caused by diseases that may affect
the nerves and muscles that tell the lungs to inflate or deflate. Certain narcotics may cause this to
happen as well. If respiratory acidosis does not become too severe the kidneys will help to raise the
blood pH to the normal range. The kidneys increase the amount of hydrogen it releases and the
reabsorption of bicarbonate. When medical treatment is necessary, it is usually aimed at the underlying
disease, or cause of the condition. (.nlm.nih.gov, 2016) Bronchodilator drugs may be prescribed to

Breach of warranty based product liability claims usually focus on one of three types:
1. Breach of an express warranty An express warranty is a guarantee from the seller of a product that
specifies the extent to which the quality or performance of the product is assured and states the
conditions under which the product can be returned, replaced, or repaired. It is often given in the form
of a specific, written Warranty document. However, a warranty may also arise by operation of law
based upon the seller s description of the goods, and perhaps their source and quality, and any material
deviation from that specification would violate the guarantee. For example, an advertisement
describing a product is often full of express warranties; the product must substantially conform to
what is advertised. Many advertisers insert disclaimers for this purpose (e.g., actual
color/mileage/results may vary , or not shown actual size ). Commonly, written warranties will assure
the buyer that an article is of good quality and against defects in materials and workmanship. A
warranty may also apply to services that

Swot Zapata Research Paper
I. Introduction The Mexican Revolution, which broke out in 1910, was the first social revolution of
the 20th century and marked the entry of Mexico into modernity. In Mexico, the people were opposed
to the situation in which the people were living. At the political level, General Porfirio Diaz was re
elected in all pseudo elections that were presented in the country; there wasn t a democracy. At the
social level there were two classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The peasants had no land for
planting and were constantly victims of repression on the part of the landowners. The armed
movement thrives as a result of the actions of the dictatorship of General Porfirio Diaz. The revolution
had several leaders, both political and military. One of the most prominent was Emiliano Zapata the

The Eight Sign Miracles of Jesus
There are four Gospels in the New Testament, and each seemingly written to a different audience base
that show different aspects to deity. There are a total of 37 different miracles attributed to Jesus during
his years of ministry on earth; although, there are only eight miracles detailed in the Gospel of John.
John is considered to be more sectarian and exclusive than the other three gospels. This book was
written to convey and convince all those who read it of the Deity of Jesus. The author tells us in John
20, And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this

By virtue of Jesus power, the people s desire for him to be their king was based out of selfishness with
what He could offer them, and had remotely nothing to do with the divine revelation of who he was.
Unfortunately, this is the mentality that still exist today with believers and nonbelievers alike, a selfish
mindset that tends to look for and seek out supply rather than seeking to know the source, which is
God.
John uses Jesus walking on water as his fifth sign miracle. This shows that Jesus has power over all
natural laws. Jesus saw the disciples fighting for their lives on a stormy sea and he walks toward them.
The disciples were quite naturally afraid, but when Jesus revealed his identity to them all of their fears
were calmed. John does not recant the story of Peter walking on water with Jesus as the book of Mark
does, perhaps this is done intentionally not to take the spotlight off of the divine abilities of Jesus, and
instead focusing on Peter.
The next sign miracle was another demonstration of his ability to heal. Jesus healed a man born blind.
This healing prompted a similar reaction from the Pharisees and the Jews that healing the lame man
did; although, in this instance it was not done in violation of the Sabbath day. This was the first time
Jesus had admitted openly that illness or affliction have been placed on someone for the sole purpose
of revealing God s glory.

Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s The Cask Of Amontillado
The American Romantic/ Gothic period was basically the Renaissance of American literature.
American romantics were influenced by eras that before them, and their writings were a different
reaction against the philosophy of the previous eras. With this being said, American Romanticism
grew from salvation, and guilt, as they excitedly developed their own unique style of writing.
American romantic authors had a strong sense of general identity and pride in being American. For
this reason, American authors during this time had a discrete desire to develop their own unique
character separate from British literature. In order to accomplish this goal, the poet Edgar Allan Poe
was rebellious and personal in his writing; and this explains the extraordinary creativity found
throughout his work. Edgar Allan Poe had a unique and dark form writing style the mysterious style of
writing showed emotion and drama. He used the themes of Gothic, death of the women he loved, and
good vs. evil. These forms of writing styles are shown in The Cask of Amontillado , The Raven , and
Tell Tale Heart. It demonstrates all the major aspects of the American Romantic revolution: rejection
of classicism, eager naivety, and unusual detachment regarding time and space.
The story of The Cast of Amontillado is a classic Gothic horror tale of a mad man wanting revenge.

The outcome of the actions of these warriors is battle and bloodshed as the way to achieve this glory.
Achilles is the main war hero in the poem. He is passionate, enraged, and vain. The temper Achilles
possesses causes the atrocious actions he commits. As courageous as he was, he was unable at first to
grasp the concept of pure character. After his actions and their consequences become clear, he begins
to understand the meaning of ones true self. This gives Achilles a purpose: to chose between life and
dignity. Hector is known for being the most courageous warrior of all Troy. He is the Trojan warrior
that seizes the need for battle. In the poem he becomes Achilles enemy after the death of Patroklos
(Homer Book 16). Hector does not compare to Achilles other than his need for honor. Both of these
men are fighting for not only their glory, but for their people as well. Social status was the major
concept of the Greek society. This is around the time that we would call The Homeric Society. The
Homeric Society was a time period that was based specifically off of Homer s epic poems, indicating a
time of social restoration and rebirth of idolizing a monarchy (Keller 5). The Greeks used the idea of
power to make their culture fit for a more noble order of society. According to the book Greece in the

Analysis of Jonathan Swift´s A Modest Proposal Essay
Poverty has been a problem not only in Texas or the United States, but all over the world. Many types
of individuals have addressed this topic for years, raised money, volunteered, but still, as much as
there s said and done, the issue hasn t been fazed a bit. From Jonathan Swift s Modest Proposal, he
clarifies the poverty issued throughout Ireland in the early 1700 s and how one suggestion could
change it all. Elaborated from the Literary Reference Center, A Modest Proposal, like Gulliver s

As the audience continues to read The Modest Proposal, they see that maybe he isn t joking, that he
really wants to eat the babies and start a new fashion trend. To make things more believable, he states
times of the year when the babies are just right, they re not too done or underdone. Swift specifies that
the little ones fattened up would be delicacies at banquets, christenings, or any special celebration.
From the book itself, Swift states that, The skin that is left from the infants carcasses could be used for
ladies gloves and men s boots... the carcasses can be sold for a decent price to any and all. Many
kings, queens, higher lords, and upper class take this proposal as a suitable option. Some even tended
to make breeding farms for women to make scrumptious little darlings over and over again until their
time of birthing was done. Did this really happen, you say? Did it even fall through and decrease
poverty?
All in all, Swift addressed the issue in a way that no one would have thought. In the end, he wasn t
being serious about harvesting the little ones and digesting them, but simply letting everyone open
their eyes and see what was going around in their small community of Ireland. Some might say Swift
was sick, crazy, but he was simply genius. Using this strategic option created ways for people to set

8/8 on the leadership grid. When I first got promoted I was an autocratic leader, but still tried to take
care of the officers on shift. As I have progressed in my career, I have tried to become more a
democratic leader and believe I have accomplished that. Still at times there is a need to be more of an
autocratic leader. Along the same lines, at the start of my supervisory career I can now see that I was
very much a manager. I did not deal with people very well, I just expected that they were adults and
would have the work ethic to do what they were supposed to do. I found out quickly that some did not

Avengers Stereotypes
Female Superheroes in Cartoons and Comics
It is extremely difficult to think of the modern world being without entertainment of any kind. People
have developed the cult of music, literature and visual art. One of the greatest entertainment pieces are
drawn comic books, which gave rise to an entire industry.
Although most of the comic books represent both female and male superheroes, in Marvel s Avengers,
the women are shown as sexual objects and minor characters while men are depicted as intelligent and
powerful heroes.
Since the inception of the comic book industry there have been a lot of controversies surrounding
female figures, especially, their physical appearance, gender roles and stereotypes. A strong hero,
leader and a desirable woman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in Marvel s Avengers Natasha Romanoff was abused during the interrogation with
Russian mobsters as she refused to give out the information. It is crucial to note the way she sits on a
chair which was done on purpose as it creates the whole picture of her sexuality. Such scenes have an
enormous effect on society as they generally are representing hatred, discrimination, and
objectification. Since women are referred to the weak ones even though, super heroines, they are still
quite frequently victims of abduction.
All papers claim the same things about female roles in the comic books and its displaying on the
screens. Women are usually portrayed as inferior, unbelievably attractive, seductive and passive
characters. In comparison to Natasha, other females in Avengers are somewhat softer and
romanticized. Every frame with Betty is soft in the movie. Even when she was hurt and passed out she
was lying in a beautiful pose, just like a model who is also a subject of objectification in the real
world, with minimal damage to her pretty face which serves as bright contrast to the blood covered

Digital Art And Its Impact On Contemporary Culture
Digital art is a discipline that brings together all artistic works created with or involving digital media.
This paper aims at addressing the various areas of research associated with the ideas of digital art,
starting from the history, through its various dimensions and demonstrations, working and
functionalities of computer, significant work in the area and ending with the emergence of various
ideas that surrounds this developing discipline.
The history of digital art, which can be more broadly referred to as electronic art, is not only written
whilst affected by the consolidation of the aesthetic and foundation that Stewart Brand claims for
contemporary culture, but also in the very acceptance of digital art by the institutions and curators of
the art world. It is a reality that digital art has remained in a transition for a considerable period of time
and has yet to be established as a proper discipline.
One of the earliest ancestors of digital art is the neo impressionist painter Seurat. He created a new
technique that has a resemblance to what later will become the pixels. A pixel is the smallest unit of a
computer image. On this point, the critic Donald Kuspit notes the effect Seurat had on impressionism
and especially later neo impressionism to pointillism and then to inspire pixels. However, striking
spots used by Manet are the primitive prototypes of mathematical sophistication of pixels. The next
crucial aspect in the development of this sensations is stating

Essay Huntington s Disease
Huntington s Disease Background Huntington s disease is inherited as an autosomal dominant disease
that gives rise to progressive, elective (localized) neural cell death associated with choleric
movements (uncontrollable movements of the arms, legs, and face) and dementia. It is one of the more
common inherited brain disorders. About 25,000 Americans have it and another 60,000 or so will
carry the defective gene and will develop the disorder as they age. Physical deterioration occurs over a
period of 10 to 20 years, usually beginning in a person s 30 s or 40 s. The gene is dominant and thus
does not skip generations. Having the gene means a 92 percent chance of getting the disease. The
disease is associated with increases in the length ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After heating the reaction to 94 degrees C for 4 minutes, 27 cycles of 1 minute at 94 degreesC and 2
minutes at 67 degrees C, tests were performed. The PCR products were settled on 8% polyacrylamide
gels. The mtDNA deletion levels were quantitated relative to the total mtDNA levels by the dilution
PCR method. When the percentage of the mtDNA deletion relative to total mtDNA was used as a
marker of mtDNA damage, most regions of the brain accrued a very small amount of mtDNA damage
before age 75. Cortical regions accrued 1 to 2% deletion levels between ages 80 90, and the putamen
accrued up to 12% of this deletion after age 80. The study presented evidence that HD patients have
much higher mtDNA deletionlevels than agematched controls in the frontal and temporal lobes of the
cortex. Temporal lobe mtDNA deletion levels were 11 fold higher in HD patients than in controls,
whereas the frontal lobe deletion levels were fivefold higher in HD patients than in controls. There
was no statistically significant difference in the average mtDNA deletion levels between HD patients
and controls in the occipital lobe and the putamen. The increase in mtDNA deletion levels found in
HD frontal and temporal lobes suggests that HD patients have an increase mtDNA somatic mutation
rate. Could the increased rate be from a direct consequence of the expanded trinucleotide repeat of the
HD gene, or is it from an indirect consequence? Whatever the origin of the deletion, these

ABSTRACT
Ayurveda, an ancient system originated from India use several combination of herbs and minerals in
the treatment of most common neurodegenerative disorder, Parkinson s disease (PD). The herbs that
are classically used for PD are Mucuna pruriens, Withania somnifera, Bacopa monnieri, Centella
asiatica and Sida cordifolia (Prioreschi, 1996; Chopra, 2003: Mishra, 2003). In this report, efficiency,
side effects and evidences of Ayurveda ability to cure and decreasing the symptoms of this illness will
be covered. By reviewing from various aspects and research studies, how effective is Ayurvedic
medicine to treat Parkinson s disease is going to be discuss. (96 WORDS)
INTRODUCTION
Parkinson s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder which worsen over time. PD is
due to loss and degeneration of dopamine neurone in the brain. This neurone is important to make
signalling chemical called dopamine which allow us to make normal movement. Cause for this disease
is unknown, or basically acknowledged as idiopathic. However, there are

Microfracture Procedure
Background and purpose:
Repetitive overhead athletic activities and age can increase risk for shoulder pathologies to arise. The
microfracture procedure has been used more recently for chondral defects of the glenoid and humeral
head. There is very limited research on the rehabilitation following the microfracture procedure, and
even less in conjunction with other pathological surgical repairs. The purpose of this case report is to
provide details on the rehabilitation of a recreational athlete who underwent a type II SLAP repair
with a microfracture of the central humeral head and glenoid.
Case Description:
The patient was a 41 year old male who failed conservative treatment of a SLAP tear and full
thickness glenoid and humeral head articular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The incidence of injury was calculated to occur every 3.1 of 1000 hours trained.1
In 1990 the acronym SLAP lesion (Superior Labral Anterior and Posterior) was coined by Synder et
al, a shoulder pathology previously made known after arthroscopically identified by Andrews et al in
1985. 2,3 The prevalence of SLAP lesions in recreational athletic and athletic populations ranges from
3.9 % 11.8%. 4 Kim, et al noted out of 544 shoulders arthroscopically evaluated, 25% were diagnosed
with a SLAP lesion, and 88%, about 120 subjects, presented with another pathology.6
A more recent surgical procedure, called a microfracture technique, has become more supported at the
shoulder. 7 At the hip, McCarthy et al found 74% of patients with a labral pathology also had chondral
lesions.18 The microfracture procedure is a technique that pierces subchondral bone to initiate the
body s natural response to injury. Through this, a pathway for cell migration to the chondral defect is
formed where a clot will then become a stable scar of fibrocartilage and hyaline.19,8 This
cartilaginous mixture can be seen as a disadvantage due to less mechanically stable fibrocartilage,
making this scar mixture possibly more prone to future

Edgar Allan Poe s Things Fall Apart
Taking a gasp of oxygen not touched by the odor of human rot, Bird Man opened his beak and
frantically hyperventilated. Soon after he felt lightheaded and ill from the overconsumption of air, he
slowed down and recollected his thoughts. Before he had left Wilhelm, he had elicitly demanded that
if Bird Man sighted or observed the woman who was tirelessly chasing him that he should not hesitate
to use his powers in his defense. He also added in that if he saw another worm who looked similar to
him, he should ignore it. Bird Man inquired about his latter comment, though Wilhelm simply
dismissed him after threatening to destroy him if he disobeyed. Not that a worm really has the
potential to do much more than eat and slam it s face around.

Pah! Why you even listen to him is beyond me. Come hither, and tell to me what he commanded you.
Bird Man internally shouted at himself to not obey this new worm, even as he lifted himself off the
ground and approached the balcony once again. The scratches on the cobblestones indicated that he
was standing in the same place as earlier. He took a deep breath and reluctantly explained his journey
up to the point where he unwillingly enrolled in a necromancer camp, leaving out a fairly high
quantity of... sensitive details (including the part where he was attacked by a tadpole with a human
face and when he witnessed a worm break through the ceiling to devour a princess). Silence lingered
long between the two for an insurmountable period until the worm belched, rumbling the ground
similarly to a minor earthquake. Then, the worm laughed with a certain type of maniacal hysteria one
might only expect from a psychopath. You re joking, right? That s so storybook! I can t even fathom
how you would even make that up! Bird Man crossed his arms as the worm bellowed out its demonic
chuckle. But Alas, I did not ask for your story I asked what Wilhelm commanded you. If you would
instead shift your focus to THAT..? Bird Man sighed and paraphrased Wilhelm s speech, explaining
how he was to eliminate Basil to take his spot as the rightful ruler of the world. The worm again
laughed as they spouted out He is trying to use you as a pawn to recollect his power! That is the single

Cloud Aerosol Lidar And Infrared Pathfinder Satellite...
We have used daily AOD Level 2 Aerosol product from collection 5.1, at 10 km x 10 km spatial
resolution for JJAS of given study years. The AOD derived using Deep blue algorithm at 550 nm has
been considered in the study as it provides the best estimate over land (especially bright surfaces). The
algorithm, assumes that there is lower surface reflectance in the blue part of the visible spectra than in
the red part, and this is used to retrieve AOD values for geographical regions with surface reflectance
greater than 0.15 (Hsu et al., 2004). Such reflectance typically occurs in desert, arid, semi arid, and
urban geographical regions. For cloud fraction (CF), the Level 2 collection 5.1 version product of 1

The American Revolutionary War Of The United States
Alexander Hamilton, Secretary of Treasury and the federal government of the United States had to
make a decision. The American Revolutionary War put the the country in some serious debt, to the
tune of roughly 80 million dollars between federal and state. So Hamilton believed that he could
create a solution to generate the revenue needed to pay back the debt, but also give room for the US to
prosper. Hamilton came up with the Whiskey Tax which would raise taxes for distillers of whiskey,
which was very popular if not the most popular drink at the time. The official name of the law, passed
in 1791 by congress was entitled An Act Repealing, after the Last Day of June Next, the Duties
Heretofore Laid upon Distilled Spirits Imported from Aboard, and Laying Others in their Stead, and
Also Upon Spirits Distilled within the United States and for Appropriating the Same. (27) Robert
Morris, most well known for being the Financier for the American Revolution and also for signing for
the Declaration of Independence and was set to gain substantially from the Whiskey Tax. Morris one
of the main creditors for the debt, him and a number of others were owners of the majority of the
bonds that paid for the war. This considered, they wanted the money they loaned returned, most
specifically Robert Morris. This set Morris up to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the excise tax,
and the wealthiest merchant ever. Almost immediately the Whiskey Tax caused problems with

  • 2. Inner City Schools Vs Boarding Schools Essay Based on the video, it is clear that the SEED school is a great institute that offers an amazing opportunity to inner city children. Most inner city students do not graduate from high school or even have a chance to pursue a higher education due to the detrimental public school systems located in cities. Children who are more privileged have the option of attending boarding schools that provide an exceptional education for students. However, these private or boarding schools have an astronomical price tag associated with them. Unfortunately, a majority of inner city students who have the potential to do great things cannot afford to attend these institutions. As a result, they are unfairly subjected to the caustic education of inner city public schools. With the SEED school, however, these students are given the chance to attend a boarding school that provides an effective education and meets a higher standard for learning. What makes the SEED school so great is that the cost of tuition is free, allowing students from poor households to attend. Moreover, the affordability of this school does not interfere with the quality of education. Even though students are paying nothing to attend, they still receive a very rigorous curriculum and have access to numerous resources. Even though this school only accepts a limited number of students, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The soils are very important because they are essential to determine the types of plants that will grow into a bioclimatic zone in partical, in addition, also as substrates for animals serve. In turn, the soils are heavily influenced by regional climate, as well as the geology of the bedrock. At the same time we have to keep in mind the diversity of plants like the flora just like the diversity of the fauna as well as the adaptation of both. • 7. Application Of A Distributed Agricultural Sensor Network Abstract As the world s population continues to grow, new agricultural technologies will be needed to keep up with the growing demand. To accomplish this, agricultural systems must increase production while at the same time more effectively utilizing and conserving the resources that go into that production. One possible solution is the collection and analysis of environmental data. IoT sensor networks can cheaply provide distributed data that can be used to improve plant health, increase harvest yields, and decrease waste. The primary focus of this project will be to prototype a distributed agricultural sensor network that will be able to monitor the environment, network and analyze the data on the cloud, and finally provide feedback to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an active area of IoT research and will be the primary focus of this project. If data can be effectively gathered, networked, and analyzed, then that data can then be used to impart real and significant change on the environment. For agricultural systems this will result in improved plant health, increased harvest yields, and decreased waste. A. Background One of the most utilized and standardized IoT stacks is the IEEE 802.11.4, 6LoWPAN, RPL, and CoAP stack. The IoT stack layers are similar to OSI and they share many of the same abstraction layer divisions. These similarities assist with the interoperability of IoT protocols with those of the Internet. The IEEE802.15.4 protocol defines the physical and link layers of stack. These layers define how data is modulated onto the channel, how the channel is shared between multiple users, as well as the low level packet checks and retransmissions. IEEE802.15.4 operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band using Quadrature Phase Shift Keying with additional Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum encoding. This allows the radio to better reject noise and other interference. IEEE802.15.4 utilizes 16, 5MHz channels in order to generate a data throughput of 250kbps. The maximum payload size is 127 Bytes [1]. Compared to WiFi, the data rate and maximum packet size is significantly less. These characteristics are the result of the limited hardware used for ... There is email, verbal, Internet, intranet, etc? However, there is only two ways communications flows. We clearly state that anything, is done on the company?s computer is subject to monitoring. In many cases mangers advise that they want a specific employee?s Internet monitored, or email monitored. We then report back to the manger that requested it, and they take it up with Human Resources. Our rule is that a county manager has to request it, and has to be good reasoning. Other departments, like the legal counsel talk about arbitration, before going to any courts. The accounting dept talks about fraud, the human resource department talks about attendance, and leave of absences, benefits etc? you get the idea. As you can see this easily answers many question when a new employee comes on board. Dress and Language The Dress code is usually defined in the policy handbook to clearly state what is expected of the employee. • 10. The Beer Industry Is A Competitive The beer industry is a competitive, many faceted enterprise. In every industry, there is competition as customers have a variety of product alternatives and every competitor are collectively competing with one another (Ayub et al, 2013). In 2012, over 1,750 breweries operated in the United States (U.S.), with over 1,920 the following year (Brewers, 2015). The industry s 2013 total dollar retail value was $7.6 billion dollars as pint consumption amount of 50 billion pints at an average price of $3.87 per pint (Brewers, 2015). Overall, the industry claims $196 billion in yearly beer revenue, equal value to Columbia s Gross Domestic Product (GDP (Brewers, 2015). By February 2015, over 28 million beer barrels have been manufactured, compared against 29 million by February 2014 (DOT, 2015). Companies are willing to spend capital to achieve a percentage of those returns. In 2012, beer companies spent more than $1 billion on TV ads, an increase from $950 million in 2009 (Steinberg, 2013). Anheuser Busch averaged about $1.42 billion in advertising per year (Austin, 2012). Molson Coors, on the other hand, spent over $486 million in advertising and promotion for 2014 (Molson Coors, 2015). • 11. The Purpose Of Copyright Laws The purpose of copyright laws in modern society, as confirmed by Darrell Panethiere (2005) is to protect the creative rights of authors, performers, publishers, broadcasters, and many others whose livelihoods depend upon the recognition of rights (p. 1, par. 1) for their intellectual properties. In the contemporary business world, most companies that sell products of some kind depend on other firms for the design, production, and distribution of the product to make it available for selling. Such sales are often either wholesale to retailers or retail to consumers. Violations of the copyrights of intellectual property (IP), destroys the chain of commerce reflected in these different industries; which also includes the loss of employment to workers in each industry. In short, copyright laws protect the motivation of creativity, the investment of commerce, plus the employment of a labor force. WHY COPYRIGHT LAWS? As recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, n.d.), in the Protection of Industrial Property (p. 4, par. 2) during the Paris Convention of 1883 as well as in the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (p. 4, par. 2) during the Berne Convention of 1886, both acknowledges the valuation developed and emerging societies attribute to intellectual properties. Therefore, the protection of these values is justified with laws. Intellectual property is identified as mental conceptions in fixed form which are perceptible by human ... • 13. Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragettes Separating Right and Wrong: Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragette Movement Women s suffrage has been one of the unsolved problems of the last two centuries. Today, many countries constitutionalized women s right to vote; however there remain a few that outlaw it. This ban resulted in women fighting for the right to vote in the 19th century, which gave birth suffrage movements. While the suffragettes were emerging from all around the world, The United Kingdom was the heart of the movement, with Emmeline Pankhurst as one of the main figures and she played a crucial role in women s suffrage in Britain; however her work has been criticized and argued by historians for their militant tactics and their effectiveness. While there were many approaches in history for the same purpose, United States, Ireland, Canada and many more women around the world adopted the methods of the suffragettes to their own cause. The reason why the British suffragettes influenced so many other women is explained in a research paper by Laura E. Nym Mayhall as ...Once the Liberal government introduced forcible feeding as an antidote to the suffragette hunger strike, militants created a visual activism, dependent upon the exhibition of women s tortured bodies as spectacle. By this account, the activities of the WSPU became exemplary of what critic Barbara Green has called performative activism and visibility politics in early twentieth century feminist praxis, creating almost entirely feminine communities where women celebrated, suffered, spoke with, and wrote for other women, and that allowed women to put themselves on display for other women. Many women in the 19th century looked up to Emmeline Pankhurst, listened to her speeches, went to her propaganda walks and adopted her methods and women in Britain gained the right to vote in 1928, for men and women over 21, without any other requests of marital status or property, as other countries followed ... Poe is best known for his short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and fear. Poe has a magic and dark way of writing. The Masque of Red Death is one of Poe s most famous stories. He proficiently used some death symbolism, bloody imagery, and skillful figurative language in order to contribute to his purpose to inform his reader impossibility to escape from the death no matter who you are. Through using the deathly symbolism in this story skillfully, Poe alluded to people to the part of life that people have to go through without the controled by people. Background: A chemical reaction is the rate at which a substance goes through a change and it is transformed into another substance that has different compositions as well as properties.1 The rate at which a chemical reaction occurs depends on many factors, some of which include the concentration of a reactant2, temperature2, collision theory and electronegativity3. Magnesium metal is being used because it has an electronegativity that is different from all acids and it reacts fairly well with all acids in a reasonable amount of time, therefore the experiment can be better executed. The experiment will be done at room temperature of 21°C to ensure that the temperature is not speeding up or slowing down the reaction, as well as saving time and providing more accuracy. Chemical reactivity and its rate of reactivity is important as is can be applied in life. For example in medicine, different elements are mixed in a controlled environment to form medicines that are useful for the treatment of diseases. They believe that the first half of the tribulation they will go through, as well as the second half (the worst half), will send them to heaven to join God s army. One main supporting idea for the mid tribulation argument is the thought of separating the lambs and the goats. Mid tribulationists believe that true Christians and believers in Christ and of God will go through the first half of the tribulation, hold onto their faith, and persevere onto God. • 19. Income Inequality Of The United States The United States is often viewed as a wealthy and stable country, but as shown in 2011, the richest fifth of American households received about 51.1 percent of total income, while the poorest fifth received about 3.2 percent (McConnell). There are many sources of income inequality that effect poverty in the United States and the role that discrimination plays in reducing and increasing wages for different people and how the people of the United States are affected by it. The average household income in the United States is, in fact, one of the highest in the world. Unfortunately, does not provide information about income inequality. There are two ways to measure income inequality: distribution by income category and distribution by quintiles. Distribution by income category involves looking at the percentages of households in a series of income categories. Distribution of quintiles involves dividing the total number of households into five equal groups or quintiles and to compare it with the percentage of personal income. The Lorenz Curve is a way to display the quintile distribution. In a graph showing the Lorenz curve, there is one straight, up sloping diagonal line that represents a perfectly equal distribution of income, and a second curve of the actual quintile data that becomes the Lorenz curve. The space in between the two lines represents the amount of income inequality there is. This information can then be converted into a Gini ratio which is the numerical ... There certain conditions that can cause the pH range to fluctuate. Acidosis is a condition in which the blood pH is below 7.35 and alkalosis is a condition in which the blood pH is higher than 7.45. Significant changes in pH range can affect cellular function and possibly lead to death. Your blood needs the right balance of acid and basic (alkaline) compounds to function properly . (George, K., 2013) Respiratory acidosis is a condition that happens when there is too much carbon dioxide in the lungs. When this happens, the blood becomes too acidic. People with respiratory acidosis will have a pH less than 7.35 with a PaCO2 greater than 45mm HG. It can also be caused by diseases that may affect the nerves and muscles that tell the lungs to inflate or deflate. Certain narcotics may cause this to happen as well. By virtue of Jesus power, the people s desire for him to be their king was based out of selfishness with what He could offer them, and had remotely nothing to do with the divine revelation of who he was. Unfortunately, this is the mentality that still exist today with believers and nonbelievers alike, a selfish mindset that tends to look for and seek out supply rather than seeking to know the source, which is God. John uses Jesus walking on water as his fifth sign miracle. This shows that Jesus has power over all natural laws. Jesus saw the disciples fighting for their lives on a stormy sea and he walks toward them. The disciples were quite naturally afraid, but when Jesus revealed his identity to them all of their fears were calmed. John does not recant the story of Peter walking on water with Jesus as the book of Mark does, perhaps this is done intentionally not to take the spotlight off of the divine abilities of Jesus, and instead focusing on Peter. The next sign miracle was another demonstration of his ability to heal. Jesus healed a man born blind. This healing prompted a similar reaction from the Pharisees and the Jews that healing the lame man did; although, in this instance it was not done in violation of the Sabbath day. This was the first time Jesus had admitted openly that illness or affliction have been placed on someone for the sole purpose of revealing God s glory. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. My Virtual Child Is A Web Based Assignment On Raising A... My Virtual Child was a web based assignment on raising a child based on real life scenarios and answering questions that you are expected to answer as a real parent would. My assignment this time starts with Link being 9 years old. At 9 Link began to consume allot of food. Eating and snacking up to 9 times a day, I knew this was normal for his age. Most boys at 12 grow about 4 inches in height and put on 26 pounds every year once they begin puberty (Rogol, Roemmich, Clark, 2002). We did our best to guide him into a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy and nutritious foods along with encouraging him to continue with the swim and water polo teams. Because he stuck with his sports as he got older, he received a full ride scholarship right out of high school. He slowly began to show interest in the girls in his class. He began to hang out with them during recess and lunch, sometimes even hanging out over the weekends. He however begin telling harsh and disrespectful jokes that involved the physical changes of the many girls at his school when he was around his male friends. His father took him aside one evening to speak about how to treat a lady and when it s appropriate to become more involved with a girl. He made it clear to Link that sexual interest was a real thing and not to be ashamed of, but is not permitted until he is married to the girl as long as he still lives at home. At 15, Link began to distance himself from both me and his dad. He would come right home from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Analysis of Jonathan Swift´s A Modest Proposal Essay Poverty has been a problem not only in Texas or the United States, but all over the world. Many types of individuals have addressed this topic for years, raised money, volunteered, but still, as much as there s said and done, the issue hasn t been fazed a bit. From Jonathan Swift s Modest Proposal, he clarifies the poverty issued throughout Ireland in the early 1700 s and how one suggestion could change it all. Elaborated from the Literary Reference Center, A Modest Proposal, like Gulliver s Travels, transcends the political, social, and economic crisis that gave birth to it, woeful as they were. Packed with irony and satirical revelations of the human condition... Swift wasn t just writing a masterpiece, but an intended, informational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the audience continues to read The Modest Proposal, they see that maybe he isn t joking, that he really wants to eat the babies and start a new fashion trend. To make things more believable, he states times of the year when the babies are just right, they re not too done or underdone. Swift specifies that the little ones fattened up would be delicacies at banquets, christenings, or any special celebration. From the book itself, Swift states that, The skin that is left from the infants carcasses could be used for ladies gloves and men s boots... the carcasses can be sold for a decent price to any and all. Many kings, queens, higher lords, and upper class take this proposal as a suitable option. Some even tended to make breeding farms for women to make scrumptious little darlings over and over again until their time of birthing was done. Did this really happen, you say? Did it even fall through and decrease poverty? All in all, Swift addressed the issue in a way that no one would have thought. In the end, he wasn t being serious about harvesting the little ones and digesting them, but simply letting everyone open their eyes and see what was going around in their small community of Ireland. Some might say Swift was sick, crazy, but he was simply genius. Using this strategic option created ways for people to set forth and fix the problem. Just like himself, ... This value came from my father and served as a basis for other traits that developed in me, one being that of honesty. This things were ingrained in me from my earliest memories. To this day, I don t think I ever heard my father tell a lie or not tell the whole truth. To me, integrity goes farther than just being honest, it is having and living by the principles that I believe. Another core value that is a part of me is that family, next to God, is the most important thing in my life. As I have progressed in my career, I have tried to become more a democratic leader and believe I have accomplished that. Still at times there is a need to be more of an autocratic leader. Along the same lines, at the start of my supervisory career I can now see that I was very much a manager. People have developed the cult of music, literature and visual art. One of the greatest entertainment pieces are drawn comic books, which gave rise to an entire industry. Although most of the comic books represent both female and male superheroes, in Marvel s Avengers, the women are shown as sexual objects and minor characters while men are depicted as intelligent and powerful heroes. Since the inception of the comic book industry there have been a lot of controversies surrounding female figures, especially, their physical appearance, gender roles and stereotypes. Such scenes have an enormous effect on society as they generally are representing hatred, discrimination, and objectification. Since women are referred to the weak ones even though, super heroines, they are still quite frequently victims of abduction. All papers claim the same things about female roles in the comic books and its displaying on the screens. Women are usually portrayed as inferior, unbelievably attractive, seductive and passive characters. In comparison to Natasha, other females in Avengers are somewhat softer and romanticized. Every frame with Betty is soft in the movie. • 43. Digital Art And Its Impact On Contemporary Culture Digital art is a discipline that brings together all artistic works created with or involving digital media. This paper aims at addressing the various areas of research associated with the ideas of digital art, starting from the history, through its various dimensions and demonstrations, working and functionalities of computer, significant work in the area and ending with the emergence of various ideas that surrounds this developing discipline. The history of digital art, which can be more broadly referred to as electronic art, is not only written whilst affected by the consolidation of the aesthetic and foundation that Stewart Brand claims for contemporary culture, but also in the very acceptance of digital art by the institutions and curators of the art world. It is a reality that digital art has remained in a transition for a considerable period of time and has yet to be established as a proper discipline. One of the earliest ancestors of digital art is the neo impressionist painter Seurat. He created a new technique that has a resemblance to what later will become the pixels. A pixel is the smallest unit of a computer image. On this point, the critic Donald Kuspit notes the effect Seurat had on impressionism and especially later neo impressionism to pointillism and then to inspire pixels. However, striking spots used by Manet are the primitive prototypes of mathematical sophistication of pixels. The next crucial aspect in the development of this sensations is stating ... Essay Huntington s Disease Huntington s Disease Background Huntington s disease is inherited as an autosomal dominant disease that gives rise to progressive, elective (localized) neural cell death associated with choleric movements (uncontrollable movements of the arms, legs, and face) and dementia. It is one of the more common inherited brain disorders. About 25,000 Americans have it and another 60,000 or so will carry the defective gene and will develop the disorder as they age. Physical deterioration occurs over a period of 10 to 20 years, usually beginning in a person s 30 s or 40 s. The gene is dominant and thus does not skip generations. After heating the reaction to 94 degrees C for 4 minutes, 27 cycles of 1 minute at 94 degreesC and 2 minutes at 67 degrees C, tests were performed. The PCR products were settled on 8% polyacrylamide gels. The mtDNA deletion levels were quantitated relative to the total mtDNA levels by the dilution PCR method. When the percentage of the mtDNA deletion relative to total mtDNA was used as a marker of mtDNA damage, most regions of the brain accrued a very small amount of mtDNA damage before age 75. Cortical regions accrued 1 to 2% deletion levels between ages 80 90, and the putamen accrued up to 12% of this deletion after age 80. The study presented evidence that HD patients have much higher mtDNA deletionlevels than agematched controls in the frontal and temporal lobes of the cortex. Temporal lobe mtDNA deletion levels were 11 fold higher in HD patients than in controls, whereas the frontal lobe deletion levels were fivefold higher in HD patients than in controls. There was no statistically significant difference in the average mtDNA deletion levels between HD patients and controls in the occipital lobe and the putamen. The increase in mtDNA deletion levels found in HD frontal and temporal lobes suggests that HD patients have an increase mtDNA somatic mutation rate. Could the increased rate be from a direct consequence of the expanded trinucleotide repeat of the HD gene, or is it from an indirect consequence? Whatever the origin of the deletion, these ... The purpose of this case report is to provide details on the rehabilitation of a recreational athlete who underwent a type II SLAP repair with a microfracture of the central humeral head and glenoid. Through this, a pathway for cell migration to the chondral defect is formed where a clot will then become a stable scar of fibrocartilage and hyaline.19,8 This cartilaginous mixture can be seen as a disadvantage due to less mechanically stable fibrocartilage, making this scar mixture possibly more prone to future ... • 50. The American Revolutionary War Of The United States Alexander Hamilton, Secretary of Treasury and the federal government of the United States had to make a decision. The American Revolutionary War put the the country in some serious debt, to the tune of roughly 80 million dollars between federal and state. So Hamilton believed that he could create a solution to generate the revenue needed to pay back the debt, but also give room for the US to prosper. Hamilton came up with the Whiskey Tax which would raise taxes for distillers of whiskey, which was very popular if not the most popular drink at the time. The official name of the law, passed in 1791 by congress was entitled An Act Repealing, after the Last Day of June Next, the Duties Heretofore Laid upon Distilled Spirits Imported from Aboard, and Laying Others in their Stead, and Also Upon Spirits Distilled within the United States and for Appropriating the Same.
