This document describes the design of a mine detection robot that uses a GSM network without a microcontroller. The robot is controlled remotely using dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones sent via mobile phones. When a land mine is detected, the robot sends a signal to alert the operator. The robot uses two motors controlled by an L293D motor driver chip and an MT8870 DTMF decoder chip to move based on the DTMF tones received. The robot is intended to help detect land mines safely from a distance without needing to put humans at risk.
