The document describes the design process for a digipak album cover and packaging for the artist Usher. The front cover features an image of Usher in New York City styled like a Polaroid photo. Additional panels on the digipak continue the New York City theme and include photos from a music video rough cut. Text was added using Photoshop tools to include the artist name, album title, and song information. Screen grabs from the music video were incorporated throughout the packaging to tie the visuals together.

2. Front Cover of Digipak Firstly we wanted our digipak to appear In the style of a Polaroid so we started off with a blank template. Next we added a image of NYC as celebrities are know for living in huge cities and it links in with Ushers life style. We then added a close- up image of our main performer, wearing the same trilby as in our video as we wanted to link them both together. We then used the magnetic lasso tool to draw around the ribbon and select that part to add a hint of red to the image. Next once the image of the performer was In place we changed the opacity using the opacity tool so that we could see the city image underneath. Lastly we added the artists name, the name of the album and the Deluxe addition text, using the text tool. Work created in photoshop

3. Back Cover of Digipak Work created in photoshop We used the same idea as the front cover and started off by using the same Polaroid template. We then added a different image of NYC to add a change of scenery. Next we took a screen grab from our rough cut of both performers and placed it on top of the NYC image. Next we used the magnetic lasso tool to add a hint of red to the females lips which is something we are thinking of doing in our final music video. We then used the shape tool to add small red hearts as bullet points for the song titles. We then added an image of a barcode to make the digipak look more realistic. Lastly we added the artists name, the song titles and the website using the text tool.

4. Fold in cover of Digipak Work created in photoshop For the fold in part of the digipak we again used the same Polaroid template and added a different NYC image. We then coloured in the arrow sign in a dark grey colour using The paint brush tool. We then added the artists name To the sign along with the logo of the album name using the text tool. Lastly we added the RVR album logo the bottom of the image also using the text Tool.

5. Reverse side of Digipak Work created in photoshop For the reverse side of the digipak we added A broken down image of NYC to match the Opposite side. We then added a blank CD image which will represent the letter ‘O’ as we are going to add the letters ‘M’ and ‘G’ to the other parts to represent the name of the song title. We then took a screen grab from our rough cut of the male performer and used the magnetic lasso tool to cut around the image. We then placed the image on top of The CD and changed the opacity Using the opacity tool.

6. Reverse side of Digipak 2nd part Work created in photoshop For the next section we added the 2 nd part of the NYC image. We then added the letter ‘M’ using the text tool. We the took another screen grab from our rough cut of the next position of the performer and cut around him using the magnetic lasso tool. Lastly we placed the image over the letter ‘M’ and NYC image and changed the opacity using the opacity tool. There will be a lyrics and Info booklet behind this panel.

7. Reverse side of Digipak 3rd part Work created in photoshop For the last section of our digipak we added the last part of the NYC image. We then added the letter ‘G’ using the text tool. We then took another screen grab from our rough cut of the next position of the performer and cut around him using the magnetic lasso tool. Lastly we placed the image over the letter ‘G’ and NYC image and changed the opacity using the opacity tool.

Raymond adapted from Allmusic This is our information booklet about the album. This inserts inside the 2 nd part of the inner panel. We have simply taken the same image from our digipak case and used it for the cover of our booklet. We have then added text about what to expect inside the booklet.

9. Final Digipak Once all of the layers were finished we then flattened our images.
