2. Digipak – Basic Structure
A basic digipak template was used to base the design on.
3. Digipak – Backgrounds
These are the basic backgrounds being used for the outside and inside panels.
I used the rectangle tool on Photoshop to create
the basic shapes used.
4. Digipak – Text
The font used is Rockwell Condensed which is based on the feedback given.
I used black for most of the text, but I used a deep
brown for the track list to differentiate it from the
rest of the text.
5. Digipak – Images
Images used: barcode, two images 88Rising logo, parental advisory symbol, image
of ‘artist’, image of ‘Chloe Burbank’, and
image of sunset.
The barcode, 88Rising logos, parental advisory
symbol, and image of sunset only required scaling
to fit on the digipak.
Whereas the image of the ‘artist’ and ‘Chloe
Burbank’ needed the background being
removed as well as scaling.
6. Digipak – Outer Glow
I added outer glow to the two images of people so that they would blend in more
with the background colours.
7. Magazine Advert – First Layer
I started out with a gradient of yellow that resembled the yellow from the inside of
the digipak.
8. Magazine Advert – Hue
A hue was added alter the colour and make it more ‘sunset coloured’.
9. Magazine Advert – Background Image
I then added a layer image of the sunset image used in the inside of the digipak.
This was to give the background depth.
10. Magazine Advert – Text
The text I added first was the same on the draft chosen. I used the same font as on
the digipak as to represent synergy
between the two.
11. Magazine Advert – Main Image
I then added the digipak front cover as well as ‘OUT NOW!’ underneath. This is
similar to a lot of magazine adverts in other
genres and was part of the draft chosen.
12. Magazine Advert – Streaming Sites
On the draft the streaming sites ran up the left side of the album cover with their
names beside them; however, on this version
of the magazine advert they are on the right side.
13. Magazine Advert – Star Reviews
I added images of stars after removing the white background and text of different
sites that review music. I also made them
orange because they were originally yellow but it
was too harsh against the background.
14. Magazine Advert – Drop Shadow
A drop shadow was then added to ‘Joji’ so that it stood out more as the artist is
usually the centre of attention in music.
