Karl Marx And Max Weber
Karl Marx and Max Weber were influential sociologists that paved the way for modern sociological
school of thought. Both, Karl Marx and Max Weber contributed a lot to the study and foundation of
sociology. Without their contributions sociology would not be as prominent as it is today. From the
contribution of how sociology should be studied, to how they applied their theories to everyday life
has influenced many sociologists. Predominantly, both of these theorists discussed the effects of
capitalism, how it has developed, shaped and changed society into what it is today. Specifically, Karl
Marx s contribution of the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class and Max Weber s social stratification
has helped individuals to understand how modern day society has transformed into what it is today.
Particularly, this paper will lie out Weber s theory of social stratification and Marx s theory of the
bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class; additionally this essay will also compare and contrast the ideas of
these two influential sociologists. Finally this essay will criticize both of these sociologists theories
and display that Marx and Weber do not explain how modern day society and classes have been
formed. Before discussing Marx and Weber s theories we must look at their upbringing and who has
influenced their works. Karl Marx was born in West Germany in a small business city called Trier, in
1818 (Karl Marx, Intro. to Part III, Pg.135). Karl Marx was the son of a rich family and

The Montgomery Bus Boycott
The Montgomery Bus Boycott The Montgomery bus boycott changed the way people lived and
reacted to each other. The American civil rights movement began a long time ago, as early as the
seventeenth century, with blacks and whites all protesting slavery together. The peak of the civil rights
movement came in the 1950 s starting with the successful bus boycott in Montgomery Alabama. The
civil rights movement was lead by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who preached nonviolence and love for
your enemy. Love your enemies, we do not mean to love them as a friend or intimate. We mean what
the Greeks called agape a disinterested love for all mankind. This love is our regulating ideal and

The separate but equal doctrine is one of the outstanding myths of American history for it is almost
always true that while indeed separate, these facilities are far from equal. Throughout the segregated
public institutions, Negroes have been denied equal share of tax supported service and facilities stated
President Truman s Committee on Civil Rights in 1947. In Topeka, Kansas the Brown s, a Negro
family, lived only four blacks from the white Sumner Elementary School. Linda Carol Brown, an
eight year old girl had to attend a segregated school twenty one blocks from her home because Kansas
s state segregation laws allowed cities to segregate Negro and white students in public elementary
schools. Oliver Brown and twelve other parents of Negro children asked that their children be
admitted to the all white Sumner School, which was much closer to home. The principle refused them
admission, and the parents filed a suit in a federal district court against the Topeka Board of
Education. The suit contended that the refusal to admit the children to the school was a denial of the
equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The descion of the principle lead to the birth of
the most influential and important case of the Twentieth Century, Brown v. Board of Education, 347
U.S. 483 (1954). The federal district court was sympathetic to the Negro cause and agreed that
segregation in public schools had a negative effect on Negro children, but the

Thesis Statement On The Panama Canal
Thesis
How much do you really know about the Panama Canal? It is the canal that runs through the Isthmus
of Panama and connects the two largest oceans on earth. Back in the nineteenth century some
engineers decided it was a good place to create that canal. Congress wanted to strategically build a
canal in central America but there was debate on where. However the debate was settled in 1904 when
Theodore Roosevelt and the United States took over the construction of the Panama Canal from the
French. They then supported a rebellion in Panama to separate from Colombia gaining the rights to
build the canal, which is one of the greatest engineering projects ever, and the most important canal in
the western world.
Background The Panama Canal was first conceived of in the 16th century by the Holy Roman
Emperor Charles V, after it was discovered that there was no natural water route through the Americas
(History.com). The Romans eventually decided that it was impossible to build a canal ... Show more

This project was doomed from the start because, first of all there wasn t enough surveying done so
Lesseps didn t realize that making a sea level canal was very unwise. Second, there was very poor
management. Many of the staff were not hired with the project in mind, and didn t know anything
about canal building. Many of the spots along the canal had to get re dug, causing huge budget
problems. The tropical climate also contributed to the failure. They had to clear rainforest, and pay
more to their employees to get them to work in the hot, sticky climate. They also had to worry about
the rust and corroding of their equipment. The diseases caused most of the deaths on the construction.
Yellow fever and malaria were the deadliest diseases. The population still believed that the diseases
were caused by bad air, so their efforts to stop the diseases were doomed from the

Mark and John’s Conflicting Plot’s and Differences in...
Mark begins and ends his gospel with schism. The division of the heavens when Jesus is baptized by
John (Mark 1:10) and the final one, the tearing of the veil in the temple (Mark 15:38). These two
schisms form the fundamentals of the Book of Mark. God splits the heavens, in order to establish His
Son, and then He splits the veil of the temple, in atonement for His Son s death. In between these
boards of the book of Mark, in between the schisms, lies the vigorous, dynamic gospel of Jesus Christ,
the Son of God. If we view the schism of the heavens and the schism of the veil as a literary bracket
which envelopes this shortest of the four gospels, then within these brackets, inside this shortest of
gospels, inside is the good news of Jesus of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inclusio may frame either the beginning and end of the book or work in its entirety; or it may
frame the beginning and end of a section of the work. The outline of the Gospel in it s most basic form
follows an inclusio style bracketing. First the Prologue of the Gospel, including for the most part,
Chapter 1. Then, a section of testimony of the signs of Jesus, followed by the testimony of his
eventual death and resurrection. Finally, an epilogue and conclusion in Jesus resurrection and
ascension. In this outline, it can be seen that what is at the beginning is balanced by what is in the
conclusion. In addition to these literary structures, John s narrative style provides a clean and effective
method of investigation of the life of Jesus. This method is accomplished by a well crafted Plot
movement throughout the entire Gospel. At the center of every plot is conflict. The plot structure for
John s gospel can be summarized as the conflict between Christ and those who receive or believe on
him and those who reject or do not believe on him. The rising action in John s story of Jesus is the
increasing hostility of the Jews to Christ, slowly leading up to the Pharisees arrest and crucifixion of
Jesus. The Falling action is the point after Jesus death, in which things begin getting resolved. Jesus
resurrection, appearance to the disciples, and ascension are all part of the resolution and final
conclusion of

George Smith Patton Character Traits
General George Smith Patton A burning desire to go forth and reach personal conquests exists inside
every man. This passion often navigates the would be hero into a state of tragedy involving pain and
suffering for those around. One individual, in particular, inflicted strain and duress on others with a
harsh, and often criticized unorthodox style of leading when he took his campaign across Europe and
into Germany. General George Smith Patton, Jr. led an expedition across a continent to rid the world
of its Nazi powers. This journey marked the conquest of perhaps the world s greatest war general and
his reputable demeanor. Patton experienced respect and admiration throughout his life, starting very

He believed in hard work and a tough mental state of mind from his men. He expected them to be
physically fit and be able to handle themselves through the most rigorous conditions. Patton got his
first tastes of action in pursuit of Mexico s legendary Pancho Villa in 1916 with the U.S. Cavalry. He
was later transferred to the new Armored branch as the first U.S. Commander of Armor. During World
War I, Patton was struck by machine gun fire and was seriously wounded, narrowly escaping a
possible death. (1). After being wounded, Patton stayed in the armed forces and continued to head the
Armored division during the time of peace. Soon enough Patton s expertise and services would be
requested once again in a mere twenty years. On September 1, 1939, a Nazi leader named Adolph
Hitler ordered his German troops to invade and take over Poland. It was this day that marked the
beginning of the tumultuous World War II. The United States didn t declare any involvement in this
European campaign until December 15, 1941, more than two years later. This war was fought in
Europe, against Germany, to oppose Germany s rapid march toward a militaristic society. An
opposition standing in the Nazi s way was none other than the most feared general in any army,
George Patton. Patton s first great contributions to the war effort started on November 7, 1942, when
he led his armored units into Morocco and removed the German presence.

Comparing The Innocent Man By Ron Williamson And Dennis Fritz
Ron Williamson and Dennis Fritz were arrested for a rape and murder they didn t commit. The
Innocent Man covers almost every detail regarding the victims lives, the suspects lives, the backstories
of the families, the in depth details of mental health, the judicial system, and more you can probably
think of. I recommend The Innocent Man to anyone who loves to learn about Crime, Lawyers, and the
exposing of corruption and bad police work. The Innocent Man is about 2 men who were wrongly
convicted of a crime they obviously didn t commit. Debra Sue Carter, 22, was found murdered and
raped in her apartment. She died of asphyxiation. Hair and Semen was left behind by the killer. The
Detectives found Ron Williamson and accused him of the crime. Dennis Fritz was another suspect, the
cops assumed there were 2 murderers who both participated in the rape. The two men suspected of the
crime served 12 years in prison each. Ron was sent to death row and Dennis got life in prison. ... Show

Both characters had a history of crime and misconduct. Ron and Dennis were both friends, so the cops
obviously had found their killers. If the cops had actually had investigated the crime and other
suspects, it would have been obvious they were innocent.
The characters definitely ran into problems whether it be bad police work, false evidence, lying
jailhouse snitches, Depression, suicidal thoughts, false lab tests, or anything else you can think of.
My favorite character was Barney Ward because he reminds me of a Marvel superhero by the name of
Daredevil, who is also a blind lawyer. My least favorite was Bill Peterson. He was the opposing
lawyer of Ron, and did a bad job. I feel I could relate a lot to Ron Williamson. He was the only boy

The Consumption Of Wine By Imbibing Wine
Isn t it ironic that in Ancient Greece the consumption of wine was encouraged for promoting liberated
speech in intellectual social gatherings? We in the United States treat alcohol as a slow but deadly
poison that should be avoided. By imbibing wine in events known as symposiums, the Greek would
discuss intellectual ideas which lead to the acceleration of knowledge. In some cases, the symposia
weren t only for poetry and discussion, the symposiarch would hire woman for entertaining purposes.
The woman would play instruments, dance, or even engage in sexual encounters with the men

Anacreon would be an individual that could be celebrated in such a way. In short entertainment and
status were important, being an intellectual male gave you popularity.
Given that entertainment isn t the sole purpose of symposium, the drinking cup (kylix) with a group of
youths and older men at the symposium displays the interaction between men. The drinking cup is
very unique, on the basis that no other piece within MFA displays a sizeable group of men of differing
ages. The piece epitomizes Greek sexuality; the people of Ancient Greece believed in the concept of
love between erastes (older men) and eromenos (younger men). The younger men would look up to
the older men as sexual and philosophical mentors. According to the museum label Older men and
beardless youth mingle and converse at a symposium (np); you can clearly identify that the older men
are pursuing the younger males. In Symposium Pausanius states Heavenly Aphrodite represents the
love between males because they find pleasure in what is by nature stronger and more intelligent
(833). In other words, only men had the capability to love one another intellectually, women were
inferior and didn t have the mental capacity to comprehend love. It s important to realize, the other

Neuroprosthetics: A new dimension in restoration of function after spinal cord injury
Abstract
The deformation in the structure of spinal cord after an injury causes the conduction of impulse to be
disrupted and the body functions are lost. This happens relying on the severity of the injury. There are
different devices which have been developed or are under development to restore the body functions
after a spinal cord injury. Neuroprosthetic treatment has a promising future and it is a technology
which can be used to restore motor and autonomic functions and also to get the sensory feedback.
Described here are the neuroprostheses which are currently in different stages of development be it
preclinical, commercialization or testing and it involoves functional electrical stimulators, epidural
and intraspinal microstimulation, bladder neuroprosthesis, and cortical stimulation for restoring
sensation. Following the brief background of the SCI and neuroprosthesis is the chronology of the
developments related to neuromuscular excitation. The electrical stimulation in the form of functional
electrical stimulation (FES) is discussed in detail which can help facilitate and improve upper/lower
limb mobility along with other body functions lost due to injury. The applications and the future
directions are

Japan s Impact On Japan
Introduction: The 2011 Japan Earthquake was one of the most destructive earthquakes that the area
had experienced in centuries. Earthquakes regularly impact Japan due to the nearby subduction zone
under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates
meet, which ultimately causes frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquake is the 5th largest
recorded since 1900 worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake
(Mantanle 823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and
subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of Honshu. These
tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable flooding and the meltdown of
the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Japan relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this
became detrimental to local residents and industries relying on this power source. Japan has proved
itself somewhat capable to combat biophysical vulnerability with resilience. Japan has employed
numerous structural and non structural measures to minimize losses for future hazards. Furthermore,
Japan is considered to be one of the world s most successful democracies, and has one of the largest
economies. The preparedness of Japan is what reduces vulnerability and probability of risk for future
hazardous events, specifically earthquakes (Cutter 530). On a local level, the 2011 Japan earthquake is
significant because

That depends entirely on what she says. Tell us about it, princess, Kazul commanded. (199). This
shows how Kazul actually gave Cimorene a chance to talk. Kazul valued Cimorene s opinion and took

Home Router Essay
Abstract
Wireless home routers is the only barrier between a user s personal information and the internet.
Such a vital position in the user s network requires that the routers operate securely.
Unfortunately, recent research indicate that these devices have various security issues which expose
them to malware attacks. To address the growing concerns about the security of home routers, it is
important to perform dynamic analysis on home routers, even without accessing the actual hardware.
This paper looks at the importance of home router security, the need for dedicated analysis tools
through emulation and the process involved in emulating and profiling an ARM architecture based
home router.
We emulate an ARM router and test the behaviour of this router via an emulated client. This has been
done by using QEMU, an emulation tool, to virtualize the router. Upon development of the emulated
ARM router and client, we found the task more difficult than previously thought due to a bug with the
pcnet network interface card in qemu. We also performed analysis on the system calls generated when
traffic was passed through the MIPSLE architecture based router and arrived at the conclusion that our
environment is capable of detecting vulnerabilities in the security when the router is exposed to
malware.

Taking a Look at Ghazan s Reforms and Time in Power
When Ghazan came into power, the Ilkhanid kindom was in rough shape. The kingdom he inherits
was in economical decline due to factors such as mismanagement and excessive taxes. Mostly in
response to the economic decline, as well as some out of sincere benevolence, Ghazan enacted a series
of wide ranging reforms: increased construction projects; abolition of extraordinary taxes;
improvement of gold and silver currency; establishment of single system of weights and measures tat
was based on the tabriz system; purging parasitic thieves and bandits; creation of a separate royal
troop; revise prenuptial agreement to a more modest amount; installation of baths and mosques in
every village; young woman s right to not be sold to brothels without their consent; and punishment
for public intoxication. The paper will explore Jami al tawarikh, the main primary source, in which the
author, Rashid al Din, Ghazan s vizier, who helped draft these reforms with Ghazan Khan, gives a
detailed account on the economy before Ghazan, his reforms and their implementation 1 The paper
will examine the aforementioned reforms by organizing it into subheadings, and will explore, to the
best of its ability, the overall effect from these reforms according to the vizier and author, Rashid al
Din.
Increased Construction Projects Rashid notes that despite Ghazan s predecessors inclination toward
building, they were ultimately neglected to two key reasons. Although the buildings were started, and

The Importance Of Voting In Texas
Texas remains a large state with masses of diversity in addition. Despite all the Texas greatness and
large land there remains one issue that stays still not immense in, which is voting. Surprisingly, only
twenty two percent of Texans vote. Furthermore, Texas is positioned second to last with the lowest
voting rate. There exist plenty of reasons Texas has such a minimal voter turnout rate. One reason
mentioned in the Texas Civil Health Index transpires Texas demographic (Texas 20). In addition,
another reason befalls that people actually believe that their vote doesn t matter. Finally, a third reason
stands that people ensue uneducated. Voting will transform our lives, if citizens just speak up
everything will be just the way Texans want it. Texans need to benefit of their freedom and not let

An understanding why Texans might sense this way, endure as they believe that ballots manipulate the
votes; their vote will not actually count. Texans lost faith, and hope that there will ever be adjusted;

stated in the TCHI is, Texans reported being overmuch lazy, leading them to not having time to vote
(Texas 21). People do not realize voting thrives in being important for our lives. It changes the quality
of life we have. Lastly, another reason people do not vote is simple; they are not educated. They don t
understand how the government system works. TCHI tells that Texans were not aware about even
voting (Texas 21). Most Texans are not informed about what the politicians are offering either. This
will result in an overwhelming feeling for whom they will be voting. This is why it is essential being

Collage History
The term collage came around in the beginning of the twentieth century by George Braque and Pablo
Picasso when it became a distinctive part of the modern art world, it is created by using materials such
as paper, card, newspaper and magazine clippings, tissue paper and photographs placed together onto
a piece of paper or canvas and stuck down to create a completely new image. Collages have also often
been used in different types of art such as cubism and wood work and other types of paintings. It was
first introduced around 200 BC when the invention of paper came around in China; however it wasn t
used by many people until around the tenth century when calligraphers experimented by gluing paper,

In The Thematic Paradigm , Robert Ray explains how there are two distinctly different heroes, the
outlaw hero and the official hero. The official hero embraces common values and traditional beliefs,
while the outlaw has a clear sense of right and wrong but operates above the law (Ray). Ray explains
how the role of an outlaw hero has many traits. The attractiveness of the outlaw hero s childishness
and propensity to whims, tantrums, and emotional decisions derived from America s cult of childhood
, states Ray. (309) Ray also says, To the outlaw hero s inconsistence on private standards of right and
wrong, the official hero offered the admonition, you cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ray points out that this concealing of the necessity for choice also governs the thematic paradigm in
Casablanca. The film invites the audience to identify with Rick rather than Laszlo even though official
American wartime sentiments are consistently voiced by Laszlo. Rick regularly insists upon
unmediated self interest, I stick my neck out for nobody , I m the only cause I m interested in , a
position that Ferrari explicitly identifies with a discredited American tradition: My

Correlation And Gonadal Abnormalities And Chromosomal...
Even if the percentage for hormonal and gonadal abnormalities is more compared to chromosomal
abnormalities in SA, cytogenetic investigation is a must. The percentage of total CA (16%) in SA of
the present study will hold good with previous studies which vary from 5 33.3% and pure numerical
abnormalities (45,X; 47,XXX) could not be observed (table 3). The CA observed was only X
mosaicism in two of the studies (gupta, Butnarui) as compared to present study (16/43%). The
percentage for X mosaicism was almost equal in a study done by Wong (14/45.1%) and the present
study. The XY female and its variants were not observed in other studies except in two (Opitz, 1/20%;
Kalavathi, 1/11.1%) which was less compared to present study (8/22%). The structural abnormality
was at a higher range in the study done by Kalavathi (6/66.7%) followed by Safai (3/60%).
When the studies on amenorrhea are done in a particular region or racial group, the percentage of CA
in SA is always less compared to CA in PA (Cleide 1984). The CA in SA (16%) was less in present

The Rise of the Nazi Party
The Nazis and their rise to power comprised many steps along the way. With the help of Adolf Hitler s

Initially he was sentence to 5 years in prison where he focused on his book Mein Kampf which would
become his major ideology work (Bidgood 2006:126). He wrote that the Germans were members of
the Aryan race, which was superior to other people such as the Jews, Slavs, blacks and gypsies.
According to Hitler, the Jews were the lowest race. They were, he said, responsible for all of Germany

democracy, arguing that Germany needed a strong government with decisions being made by one
powerful leader. (Taylor 2001: 18) His book was poorly written but it expresses his thoughts. The Nazi
party became corrupted while Hitler was in prison causing other political parties to escalate and form
their own ideas knowing that there is no one to stop them. Alfred Rosenberg was officially left in

Purpose Of An Emergency Action Plan
Purpose of an Emergency Action Plan:
There is an inherent risk of injury in sport participation. In order to safely, quickly, and effectively deal
with the possible injuries this risk may bring, an emergency action plan is needed. The staff involved
in overseeing participants must know their roles in emergency situations, as well as proper procedure
and protocols in order to provide quality care. An emergency action plan is essential in order to insure
timely care in potentially life threatening situations and medical emergencies.

Analysis Of The Narrative The Of The Farm
Sylvia is the protagonist of the narrative. From her name alone one can gather that she is a very rural
girl, her name meaning woodsy. She is a young, nine year old girl, previously from a busy
manufacturing town who moves in with her grandmother to a calm, peaceful farm. Sylvia has a true
bond with nature and it seemed as if she never had been alive at all before she came to live at the farm
(Jewett 527). Her youth and love for nature make Sylvia such an innocent girl who does not have to
experience society since she is protected by the farm. The farm is her safe haven, where she can be
independent and truly be one with nature. Although she is marginalized since she is poor, a girl, and
less focused on the outside society, she finds happiness in being excluded.
The narrative takes place in a rural community where Sylvia and her grandmother live that represents
their independence, womanhood, and peace. Their community is made up of women, and it is very
calm. Sylvia in this community finds peace compared to her old home in the manufacturing city she
states, this was a beautiful place to live in and that she never should wish to go home (Jewett 527). In
her new home Sylvia also found that she had independence and freedom, she had all the time in the
world to wander. Often times Sylvia would go out and explore her community, there was never such a
child for straying about out doors since the world was made (Jewett 527). Sylvia and her grandmother

Roman Empire Dbq Essay
The Roman Empire was once one of the most powerful empires in the world, but still to this day we
ask, how did the empire end? Romans built their territory to be the best. They expanded their land
across regions, had all the power, a large population, and technological innovations; so how could
such a great empire end? Rome was once at it s peak but was destined to fall due to political
instability, overconfidence, negligence, and barbarian attacks.
If the United States had six different presidents every year, our nation would be unstable. According to
Document A, in 30 years Rome had 22 different emperors; only two died of natural deaths. The
Roman Empire had frequent change in leadership. An example is, from 238 244 BC there were five
different emperors in a year, Gordian 1 2, Balbinus and Pupienus, and Gordian 3 (Document A). To
barbarians, or people outside of Rome, this sent a message of weakness; which meant they were losing
power. The desiration to become a ruler ceased, as there were many assassinations. It was dangerous
to be an emperor at this time because there was minimal protection from the military and army. ...

The Evolution of the U.S. Constitution, 1781 – 1789 Essay...
Politics began to play a bigger role in the lives of American colonists during the beginning of a
growing country. After the Declaration of Independence was written in 1776, the country was
challenged with the problem of creating a process for governing the states. The Patriots were
concerned about forming a centralized Parliament, like in Britain, because power was abused by the
wealthy. Initially, the vision was to give states governing authority and leave minimal power to a
national Union. But as the years passed and conflicts arose, there was a need to create a national
government using the U.S Constitution as the blueprint.
The focus of the paper is to learn what led to the formation of the U.S. Constitution. First, it s

The main disagreement was deciding who had the right to vote. Democratic Patriots wanted equal
rights for all free men, even those who were poor. In most states, conservatives disagreed and felt
strongly that poor men should not vote because their vote would confound and destroy all distinctions
and prostrate all ranks to the common level (Lapsansky, 134). As the debate lingered, most free men
qualified to vote because they owned farms, but slaves and women were not given voting rights.
Another debate centered on religious freedom. Most states supported freedom of religion in their
constitution, and with time religious liberty, without the interference of the state, became common
from state to state with the exception of Massachusetts and Connecticut (Lapsansky Werner, Levy,
Roberts, Taylor, 135). The religious controversy was aided with the passage of the Virginia Statute for
Religious Freedom in 1786 which was written by Thomas Jefferson. This was extremely influential
legislation because it became the forerunner of the first amendment protections for religious freedom
(The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, Online). The first constitution of the United
States was called the Articles of Confederation. It was drafted in 1777 and adopted in 1781 by the
same Continental Congress that passed the Declaration of Independence. The scope of the Articles
include thirteen states which were called under the

According to Ted Cruz, a US Senator, What I think is two things, number one, that restricting the right
to keep and bear arms is unconstitutional. The Second Amendment is an integral part of the Bill of
Rights. And what it means is, politicians cannot come and strip the guns from law abiding Americans.
But, number two, it s misguided policy. If you look at the jurisdictions with the strictest gun control
laws, almost without exception, they have the highest crime rates and the highest murder rates. If you
look at the jurisdictions that most vigorously protect our right to keep and bear arms, almost without
exception, they have the lowest crime rates and the lowest murder rates. Gun control policies don t
work. And they re contrary to the Constitution. This quote basically states that the areas that have
more gun control are more violent and have a higher crime and murder rates. Whereas the areas with
less gun control have a lower crime rate. This quote also states that it s unconstitutional to take away
the law abiding citizens guns. To conclude, I believe that more gun control would be unconstitutional

Bleeding In Red Blood Cells And Platelets
The second portion of blood is made from solid components, both formed and fragmented cells. When
bleeding occurs somewhere in the body, the solid components of the blood each have their own unique
responses as well. These components are Red Blood Cells (RBCs), White Blood Cells (WBCs), and
Platelets. RBCs are formed cells that hold the oxygen within the blood. These cells are made of a
hollow membrane that can hold oxygen and is flexible enough to squeeze through small vessels like
the capillaries. (Tortura 696). When blood loss is significant enough to disturb oxygen transfer to cells,
the body attempts to compensate by mass producing in the skeletal tissue (Red Cross 159). Another
formed cell is the WBCs or leukocytes that hold the primary function of preventing infection in the
blood stream. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
with wounds that have broken through the skin, WBCs will gather around the point of entry to fight
infection and prevent any further damage to systems (Tortura 699). However, in the case of
hemostasis, the most important contributors are the Platelets, cell fragments that are held together with
a membrane (702). As bleeding occurs, various chemicals and enzymes that are contained within
platelets activate, causing the cells to become sticky and encourage accumulation to one another. This
coagulation of platelets at the broken vessel s entry site will eventually form a solid plug, resulting in
effective clotting. . Clotting is essential to stop major bleeding of vessels throughout the body,

An Analysis of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay
The editors of anthologies containing T. S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock invariably

Also, the reference to John the Baptist is invariably footnoted as Matthew 14:3 11; never have I seen
the reference footnoted as an allusion to Oscar Wilde s Salome. The sources that one cites can
profoundly affect interpretations of the poem. I believe that a correct reading of Eliot s Prufrock
requires that one cite Wilde, in addition to Matthew, and Luke, in addition to John, as the sources for
the John the Baptist and Lazarus being referenced. Furthermore, the citation of these sources can help

But though I have wept and fasted, wept and prayed,
Though I have seen my head (grown slightly bald) brought in

I am no prophet and here s no great matter... (81 83)
The reference is not only to Matthew 14:3 11, but also to Oscar Wilde s Salome, the play upon which
Richard Strauss based his opera Salome. In the biblical account, no motivation is ascribed to Salome
for wanting John the Baptist killed. In the versions by Wilde and Strauss, however, Salome is
passionately in love with the imprisoned John the Baptist, who, because he will not let the temptations
of the flesh corrupt his pure love of God, rejects her advances. Wilde s Salome, determined that if she
cannot have John no one will have John, asks Herod for the Baptist s head on a platter. John the
Baptist spurned Salome s affections while he lived; now that he is dead, Salome lavishes her kisses
upon the cold lips of the bloody corpse head.
Prufrock, too, has had his moments of temptation: he has known the arms already, known them all /
Arms that are braceleted and white and bare / (But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!)
(62 64). And these very sources of temptation, these arms that lie along a table, or wrap about a shawl

Operation of NFC:
NFC gadgets are novel in that they bolster three methods of operation: reader/writer, Peer to peer, and
card emulation. The diverse working modes are in light of the ISO/IEC 18092 NFC IP 1 and ISO/IEC
14443 contactless savvy card models.
In reader/writer mode, the NFC gadget is equipped for perusing NFC Forum commanded label sorts,
for example, a tag installed in a NFC brilliant publication. The reader/writer mode on the RF interface
is agreeable with the ISO 14443 and FeliCa plans.
In Peer to Peer mode, two NFC gadgets can trade information. For instance, you can share Bluetooth
or Wi Fi connection set up parameters or you can trade information, for example, virtual business
cards or advanced photographs. Distributed mode is institutionalised on the ISO/IEC 18092 standard.
In Card Emulation mode, the NFC gadget seems to an outside user much the same as a customary
contactless brilliant card. This empowers contactless instalments and ticketing by NFC gadgets
without changing the current framework.
NFC works in two modes

It s actually a very simple quantitative stock ranking scheme. It uses return on capital and earnings
yield as inputs. Return on capital is the metric that shows whether a business is a good one or not.
Earnings yield is the metric that shows whether a company is cheap or not. Greenblatt suggests using
these measures to identify good but cheap businesses, and buy them. That s the secret behind the
magic formula . In The Little Book That Beats The Market, Greenblatt calculated hypothetical returns
for the 1988 2004 period. The magic formula returned an average 30.8% per year, while the market
return was 12.3% and the S P 500 returned an average 12.4%. So this formula beats the market by
18% per year.
The two things he looks at are earnings yield, which is how cheap the company is. A simple earnings
yield would be the inverse of the P/E ratio or earnings to price. So, in other words, if something
earned $2 and it cost you $10 a share, you d have a 20% earnings yield.
It uses a more sophisticated metric than just earnings, than just price. But the concept is the same. It
uses EBIT earnings before interest and taxes and compares that to enterprise value, which is the
market value of a company s stock plus the long term debt that a company has. That adjusts for
companies that have

Example Of Technical Evaluation
Technical evaluation Norms The WJIII is a standardised sample consisting of 8818 individuals
ranging in age from 2 to 90 years old and taken from over 100 geographically diverse communities
from the U.S. and stratified to match the U.S. population. The sampling was selected based on
community and subject variables such as community size, gender, race, education and occupation
(Blackwell, 2001; Schrank et al., 2002). Reliablity Test reliability is the degree which an assessment
tool produces consistent results the are free of measurement errors while test retest reliability is the
reliability of obtaining the same results twice over a period of time (Cozby Bates, 2015). Reliability
for all tests except the timed and multi point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The correlations between these tests and the WJIII are between the medium to high range suggesting
that the WJIII is measuring cognitive and achievement abilities similar to these tests (Blackwell,
2001). Reviewers Comments Cizek (2003) in his mental measurements yearbook (MMY) review
commented that the WJIII was developed according to relevant professional standards and provides
excellent reliability and validity evidence. He agreed with the WJIII authors that they are justified in
their claims that it provides more precise measures and wider coverage of cognitive abilities than
found in other similar systems. However he highlights there is room for improvement particularly in
the technical and examiners manuals, which would be improved if they included examples of
Compusure outputs and interpretations and also specific examples of diagnostic indicator along with
recommended interventions. He also noted that the content validity for the WJ ACH needed to be
strengthened, as this was an area of weakness. Overall Cizek (2003) concluded that the WJ III is a
superior psychometric instrument for those that require individual norm referenced cognitive and

Cultural And Religious Beliefs And Beliefs
Family is something that makes people what they are and supports them in every difficult situation.
Cultural and religious beliefs often dictate family structures, and the beliefs of those cultures and
religions, especially regarding genders, are then reflected in power dynamics. This happens because
cultures manipulate people s perspective of viewing genders because of their religious beliefs. Some
families are shaped according to this belief that men are more important and the boys in a family get
more privileges and more attention than the girls. Different cultures and their beliefs make the boys
and the men look more powerful and cause the girls to think that they are inferior to the boys.
In Hmong and in many other households, boys are seen as more important. They are the ones who will
carry the family traditions and name to next generation. Girls are seen as someone else s property as
they will get married and go to someone else s family and will carry their name and be a part of that
family. Girls since childhood are taught that the house they were born in and are raised in is not their
actual house. Their house will be where their husband lives. In Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down,
Anne Fadiman wrote about how a girl s placenta is buried under her parent s bed. However, a boy s
placenta is buried near the base of the house s central wooden pillar because in this pillar a male spirit
who is a domestic guardian, held the roof up. That pillar is a great place of

College Is The Waste Of Time And Money
In College is the Waste of Time and Money , author Caroline Bird argues that college is not better
suited for those who are looking to be financially successful. This is based on the facts of a low
turnover ratio of students in colleges and universities and calculation that money spent on college
would have yield higher returns from other businesses such as new venture and start up companies.
Bird urges us not to spend time and money on colleges and universities. It is true that colleges and
universities have become highly profitable businesses and exorbitant fees have made parents of a low
income search for other opportunities for their children. However, the positive sides of higher
education cannot be overlooked. The College produces highly skilled personnel in engineering,
chemistry, and other disciplines. In addition to the skills, social status, and reputation, which are
considered to be an intangible worth, are associated with college education. The higher the education,
the higher the prestige. Because knowledge and skills acquired through college education removes the
darkness of ignorance, college administrators need to exploit this potential by making college an
affordable place to get a practical education rather than making it a place to earn financial revenues.
With the slogan, education for all , the United States aspired many parents and students to attend
colleges and universities in the 1950s. By 1970s, the number of college goers increased sharply and

Analysis Of `` For Esme, With Love And Squalor ``
In his short story, For Esmé, with Love and Squalor, J.D. Salinger utilizes the function of secondary
characters to expose the correlation between the contrasting ideas of idealism and cynicism. The three
minor characters of Esmé, her brother Charles, and Corporal Z all play different but necessary roles in
the mental and emotional development of the main character, Sergeant X. While the characters of
Esmé and Charles represent the best traits of humanity, their lifestyles contrast that of Corporal Z, a
pessimistic and rude war veteran. After Salinger sets a standard of ideal human nature through the two
siblings and their interaction with Sergeant X, he purposefully introduces Corporal Z into the story to
help demonstrate the differences between the personalities of idealistic and cynical people; in doing
so, Salinger reveals relationships between youthful innocence and idealism, as well as arrogance and
cynicism.
Esmé s commendable traits, such as her compassion and sophistication, reflect her perfection in the
eyes of Sergeant X. From the time she first talks to him at the restaurant, Esmé puts forth effort to
develop a friendship and unique bond with the struggling soldier. After Esmé comments to Sergeant
X, I d be extremely flattered if you d write a story exclusively for me sometime, she reminds him, It
doesn t have to be terribly prolific! Just so that it isn t childish and silly. [...] I prefer stories about
squalor (151). Other than showing her friendly

The Swot Analysis Of Waitrose
The PESTEL Analysis of Waitrose
Name
Institution
Waitrose is a chain of super markets in United Kingdom focused on the grocery business. The
organization as of 2010 had 228 retail branches only in UK making it the 6th largest retailer with a
market share of 4.3% in UK (Corporate Watch, 2012). The grocery business is a major contributor to
the food industry and forms the core of the retailing venture attracting many market players in UK
such as Tesco, Iceland, Somerfield, Sainsbury s, and ASDA. This has led to intense competition
compelling Waitrose to embrace a differentiation strategy of aiming at the so called upper class which
prefers quality and fresh produce (NY, 2012). This has made the organization to have a good ... Show

Additionally, the Department of the Environment, Transport, and Regions affirms that the government
firmly remains to be dedicated to the Planning Policy Guidance objective of enhancing and sustaining
viability and vitality of prevailing of local centers, districts, towns, and cities in regard to the retailing
business (Gov UK, 2013). Due to this, Waitrose has been operating in permissible vicinities or
localities by the government. Also the Supply of Groceries from Multiple Stores in the United
Kingdom reports that leading supermarket chains as far as grocery business is concerned should not
form cartels to keep prices high (NY, 2012). Thus, Waitrose has been charging affordable prices for its
quality products in complying with this directive. Also UK has been campaigning for anti Genetically
Modified Foods in retail stores (Keynote, 2011). Moreover, the upper class does not prefer GMO
foods and thus the organization has been their darling. Finally, the organization trades within the
Eurozone where there is political stability and also a strong currency making the business activities of
Waitrose not to be tampered with at all.
Economically, UK has not been that stable as far as economic activity is concerned. The global
economic meltdown and its aftermath are still being felt today. The years following the 2007/2008
were economic roller coaster in UK. By 2009, the economic growth declined by 4 leading to low GDP

Review Of The Jati
Aaron Thomas
Nancey Moore
HIS 111 4106

The Jati
Thousands of years ago in Asia, a book was written that gave social structure that would go on
through the ages in India. Today that social structure is called the Jati or in English words, the Caste
system. While it has undergone a few changes here and there, the system has relatively been
unchanged and just like thousands of years ago when it was first introduced in the Vedas, it exists in
modern day India as a part of society in it. This paper will go over a more detailed explanation of the
Jati as well as the classes and books that defined the Jati system, most notably the Laws of Mandu .
Jati translates to caste so in English it is called the Caste system. In the Jati system there are four main
castes one falls under: Shudra, Viasya, Kshatryia and Bhramin. Outside of the caste system are the
outcasts or also called untouchables. Within these main four castes there are thousands of subcastes a
group of people will fall under. One important thing to note where unlike most social classes of
ancient time, in the Jati system, it is possible to move up in the caste. While a subcaste may not move
up as an individually, the entire group can move up. So while there is subcaste A and subcaste B.
While Subcaste B is currently higher up on the caste it is possibly for subcaste A as a whole to move
up above subcaste B. This is the beauty of the Jati system, groups are not permanently logged into one

Abbey s Five Senses
In Abbey s Essay, he does a very good job describing all the various objectives and is very inclusive
on using the five senses to describe every detail. In his essay, Abbey describes the sunsets as elaborate
sunsets in every named and unnamed hue of gold, purple, crimson, green, orange, and blue, spread out
for fifty or a hundred miles among the floating ranks of clouds. The inclusiveness of the senses
continues in his description of the sounds or the silence that he hears in the desert. In his essay, he
articulates that Almost every day of the week I have been honored by the serenade of a den of coyotes.
And further on Abbey reveals that the coyote s music sounds like the legendary wail of banshees, or
more precisely, like the sounds

Introduction
Nowadays, with the development of technology, the demand for high speed computing for the
computers increases significantly. Cloud computing is the most emphasized Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) which can effectively implement high speed computing [1]. Most
common products that people used in their daily life such as cloud drive and Google search are based
on cloud computing, therefore it is necessary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The high rotation speed will cause not only the dramatic increase of temperature but also the loud
noise. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature,
and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the
flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive
range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use
SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically.
The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be
widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling
system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can
automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable,
therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. On the contrary, the
cooling system can decrease the power while the temperature is low. To successfully implement right
sizing cooling system, the data center operators should take additional methods to measure the
temperature [5]. Thirdly, the energy efficiency of server processors is also helpful for reducing energy
consumption

  • 3. Karl Marx And Max Weber Karl Marx and Max Weber were influential sociologists that paved the way for modern sociological school of thought. Both, Karl Marx and Max Weber contributed a lot to the study and foundation of sociology. Without their contributions sociology would not be as prominent as it is today. From the contribution of how sociology should be studied, to how they applied their theories to everyday life has influenced many sociologists. Predominantly, both of these theorists discussed the effects of capitalism, how it has developed, shaped and changed society into what it is today. Specifically, Karl Marx s contribution of the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class and Max Weber s social stratification has helped individuals to understand how modern day society has transformed into what it is today. Particularly, this paper will lie out Weber s theory of social stratification and Marx s theory of the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class; additionally this essay will also compare and contrast the ideas of these two influential sociologists. Finally this essay will criticize both of these sociologists theories and display that Marx and Weber do not explain how modern day society and classes have been formed. Before discussing Marx and Weber s theories we must look at their upbringing and who has influenced their works. Karl Marx was born in West Germany in a small business city called Trier, in 1818 (Karl Marx, Intro. to Part III, Pg.135). Karl Marx was the son of a rich family and ... The American civil rights movement began a long time ago, as early as the seventeenth century, with blacks and whites all protesting slavery together. The peak of the civil rights movement came in the 1950 s starting with the successful bus boycott in Montgomery Alabama. The civil rights movement was lead by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who preached nonviolence and love for your enemy. Love your enemies, we do not mean to love them as a friend or intimate. The separate but equal doctrine is one of the outstanding myths of American history for it is almost always true that while indeed separate, these facilities are far from equal. Throughout the segregated public institutions, Negroes have been denied equal share of tax supported service and facilities stated President Truman s Committee on Civil Rights in 1947. In Topeka, Kansas the Brown s, a Negro family, lived only four blacks from the white Sumner Elementary School. Linda Carol Brown, an eight year old girl had to attend a segregated school twenty one blocks from her home because Kansas s state segregation laws allowed cities to segregate Negro and white students in public elementary schools. Oliver Brown and twelve other parents of Negro children asked that their children be admitted to the all white Sumner School, which was much closer to home. The principle refused them admission, and the parents filed a suit in a federal district court against the Topeka Board of Education. The suit contended that the refusal to admit the children to the school was a denial of the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The descion of the principle lead to the birth of the most influential and important case of the Twentieth Century, Brown v. Board of Education, 347 U.S. 483 (1954). • 7. Thesis Statement On The Panama Canal Thesis How much do you really know about the Panama Canal? It is the canal that runs through the Isthmus of Panama and connects the two largest oceans on earth. Back in the nineteenth century some engineers decided it was a good place to create that canal. Congress wanted to strategically build a canal in central America but there was debate on where. However the debate was settled in 1904 when Theodore Roosevelt and the United States took over the construction of the Panama Canal from the French. They then supported a rebellion in Panama to separate from Colombia gaining the rights to build the canal, which is one of the greatest engineering projects ever, and the most important canal in the western world. Background The Panama Canal was first conceived of in the 16th century by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, after it was discovered that there was no natural water route through the Americas (History.com). Many of the spots along the canal had to get re dug, causing huge budget problems. The tropical climate also contributed to the failure. They had to clear rainforest, and pay more to their employees to get them to work in the hot, sticky climate. They also had to worry about the rust and corroding of their equipment. • 8. Mark and John’s Conflicting Plot’s and Differences in... Mark begins and ends his gospel with schism. The division of the heavens when Jesus is baptized by John (Mark 1:10) and the final one, the tearing of the veil in the temple (Mark 15:38). These two schisms form the fundamentals of the Book of Mark. God splits the heavens, in order to establish His Son, and then He splits the veil of the temple, in atonement for His Son s death. In between these boards of the book of Mark, in between the schisms, lies the vigorous, dynamic gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. If we view the schism of the heavens and the schism of the veil as a literary bracket which envelopes this shortest of the four gospels, then within these brackets, inside this shortest of gospels, inside is the good news of Jesus of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The inclusio may frame either the beginning and end of the book or work in its entirety; or it may frame the beginning and end of a section of the work. The outline of the Gospel in it s most basic form follows an inclusio style bracketing. First the Prologue of the Gospel, including for the most part, Chapter 1. Then, a section of testimony of the signs of Jesus, followed by the testimony of his eventual death and resurrection. Finally, an epilogue and conclusion in Jesus resurrection and ascension. In this outline, it can be seen that what is at the beginning is balanced by what is in the conclusion. In addition to these literary structures, John s narrative style provides a clean and effective method of investigation of the life of Jesus. This method is accomplished by a well crafted Plot movement throughout the entire Gospel. At the center of every plot is conflict. The plot structure for John s gospel can be summarized as the conflict between Christ and those who receive or believe on him and those who reject or do not believe on him. The rising action in John s story of Jesus is the increasing hostility of the Jews to Christ, slowly leading up to the Pharisees arrest and crucifixion of Jesus. The Falling action is the point after Jesus death, in which things begin getting resolved. The Innocent Man covers almost every detail regarding the victims lives, the suspects lives, the backstories of the families, the in depth details of mental health, the judicial system, and more you can probably think of. I recommend The Innocent Man to anyone who loves to learn about Crime, Lawyers, and the exposing of corruption and bad police work. The Innocent Man is about 2 men who were wrongly convicted of a crime they obviously didn t commit. Debra Sue Carter, 22, was found murdered and raped in her apartment. She died of asphyxiation. Hair and Semen was left behind by the killer. The Detectives found Ron Williamson and accused him of the crime. My favorite character was Barney Ward because he reminds me of a Marvel superhero by the name of Daredevil, who is also a blind lawyer. My least favorite was Bill Peterson. The drinking cup is very unique, on the basis that no other piece within MFA displays a sizeable group of men of differing ages. The younger men would look up to the older men as sexual and philosophical mentors. Restoration Of Function After Spinal Cord Injury Neuroprosthetics: A new dimension in restoration of function after spinal cord injury Submitted By Pavanpreet Kaur Sandhu Pxs112930@utdallas.edu Neuroprosthetics: A new dimension in restoration of function after spinal cord injury Abstract The deformation in the structure of spinal cord after an injury causes the conduction of impulse to be disrupted and the body functions are lost. This happens relying on the severity of the injury. There are different devices which have been developed or are under development to restore the body functions after a spinal cord injury. Neuroprosthetic treatment has a promising future and it is a technology which can be used to restore motor and autonomic functions and also to get the sensory feedback. Described here are the neuroprostheses which are currently in different stages of development be it preclinical, commercialization or testing and it involoves functional electrical stimulators, epidural and intraspinal microstimulation, bladder neuroprosthesis, and cortical stimulation for restoring sensation. Following the brief background of the SCI and neuroprosthesis is the chronology of the developments related to neuromuscular excitation. • 13. Japan s Impact On Japan Introduction: The 2011 Japan Earthquake was one of the most destructive earthquakes that the area had experienced in centuries. Earthquakes regularly impact Japan due to the nearby subduction zone under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet, which ultimately causes frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquake is the 5th largest recorded since 1900 worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake (Mantanle 823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of Honshu. These tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable flooding and the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Japan relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this became detrimental to local residents and industries relying on this power source. Japan has proved itself somewhat capable to combat biophysical vulnerability with resilience. Japan has employed numerous structural and non structural measures to minimize losses for future hazards. Furthermore, Japan is considered to be one of the world s most successful democracies, and has one of the largest economies. The preparedness of Japan is what reduces vulnerability and probability of risk for future hazardous events, specifically earthquakes (Cutter 530). • 16. Home Router Essay Abstract Wireless home routers is the only barrier between a user s personal information and the internet. Such a vital position in the user s network requires that the routers operate securely. Unfortunately, recent research indicate that these devices have various security issues which expose them to malware attacks. To address the growing concerns about the security of home routers, it is important to perform dynamic analysis on home routers, even without accessing the actual hardware. This paper looks at the importance of home router security, the need for dedicated analysis tools through emulation and the process involved in emulating and profiling an ARM architecture based home router. We emulate an ARM router and test the behaviour of this router via an emulated client. This has been done by using QEMU, an emulation tool, to virtualize the router. Upon development of the emulated ARM router and client, we found the task more difficult than previously thought due to a bug with the pcnet network interface card in qemu. We also performed analysis on the system calls generated when traffic was passed through the MIPSLE architecture based router and arrived at the conclusion that our environment is capable of detecting vulnerabilities in the security when the router is exposed to malware. She is a young, nine year old girl, previously from a busy manufacturing town who moves in with her grandmother to a calm, peaceful farm. Sylvia has a true bond with nature and it seemed as if she never had been alive at all before she came to live at the farm (Jewett 527). As the debate lingered, most free men qualified to vote because they owned farms, but slaves and women were not given voting rights. Another debate centered on religious freedom. Most states supported freedom of religion in their constitution, and with time religious liberty, without the interference of the state, became common from state to state with the exception of Massachusetts and Connecticut (Lapsansky Werner, Levy, Roberts, Taylor, 135). The religious controversy was aided with the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom in 1786 which was written by Thomas Jefferson. When bleeding occurs somewhere in the body, the solid components of the blood each have their own unique responses as well. It s actually a very simple quantitative stock ranking scheme. It uses return on capital and earnings yield as inputs. Return on capital is the metric that shows whether a business is a good one or not. Earnings yield is the metric that shows whether a company is cheap or not. Greenblatt suggests using these measures to identify good but cheap businesses, and buy them. That s the secret behind the magic formula . In The Little Book That Beats The Market, Greenblatt calculated hypothetical returns for the 1988 2004 period. The magic formula returned an average 30.8% per year, while the market return was 12.3% and the S P 500 returned an average 12.4%. So this formula beats the market by 18% per year. The two things he looks at are earnings yield, which is how cheap the company is. A simple earnings yield would be the inverse of the P/E ratio or earnings to price. So, in other words, if something earned $2 and it cost you $10 a share, you d have a 20% earnings yield. It uses a more sophisticated metric than just earnings, than just price. But the concept is the same. It uses EBIT earnings before interest and taxes and compares that to enterprise value, which is the market value of a company s stock plus the long term debt that a company has. That adjusts for companies that have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Example Of Technical Evaluation Technical evaluation Norms The WJIII is a standardised sample consisting of 8818 individuals ranging in age from 2 to 90 years old and taken from over 100 geographically diverse communities from the U.S. and stratified to match the U.S. population. The sampling was selected based on community and subject variables such as community size, gender, race, education and occupation (Blackwell, 2001; Schrank et al., 2002). Reliablity Test reliability is the degree which an assessment tool produces consistent results the are free of measurement errors while test retest reliability is the reliability of obtaining the same results twice over a period of time (Cozby Bates, 2015). He agreed with the WJIII authors that they are justified in their claims that it provides more precise measures and wider coverage of cognitive abilities than found in other similar systems. However he highlights there is room for improvement particularly in the technical and examiners manuals, which would be improved if they included examples of Compusure outputs and interpretations and also specific examples of diagnostic indicator along with recommended interventions. • 43. Cultural And Religious Beliefs And Beliefs Family is something that makes people what they are and supports them in every difficult situation. Cultural and religious beliefs often dictate family structures, and the beliefs of those cultures and religions, especially regarding genders, are then reflected in power dynamics. This happens because cultures manipulate people s perspective of viewing genders because of their religious beliefs. Some families are shaped according to this belief that men are more important and the boys in a family get more privileges and more attention than the girls. Different cultures and their beliefs make the boys and the men look more powerful and cause the girls to think that they are inferior to the boys. In Hmong and in many other households, boys are seen as more important. They are the ones who will carry the family traditions and name to next generation. Girls are seen as someone else s property as they will get married and go to someone else s family and will carry their name and be a part of that family. Girls since childhood are taught that the house they were born in and are raised in is not their actual house. Their house will be where their husband lives. In Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, Anne Fadiman wrote about how a girl s placenta is buried under her parent s bed. However, a boy s placenta is buried near the base of the house s central wooden pillar because in this pillar a male spirit who is a domestic guardian, held the roof up. • 44. College Is The Waste Of Time And Money In College is the Waste of Time and Money , author Caroline Bird argues that college is not better suited for those who are looking to be financially successful. This is based on the facts of a low turnover ratio of students in colleges and universities and calculation that money spent on college would have yield higher returns from other businesses such as new venture and start up companies. Bird urges us not to spend time and money on colleges and universities. It is true that colleges and universities have become highly profitable businesses and exorbitant fees have made parents of a low income search for other opportunities for their children. However, the positive sides of higher education cannot be overlooked. The College produces highly skilled personnel in engineering, chemistry, and other disciplines. In addition to the skills, social status, and reputation, which are considered to be an intangible worth, are associated with college education. The higher the education, the higher the prestige. Because knowledge and skills acquired through college education removes the darkness of ignorance, college administrators need to exploit this potential by making college an affordable place to get a practical education rather than making it a place to earn financial revenues. With the slogan, education for all , the United States aspired many parents and students to attend colleges and universities in the 1950s. Salinger utilizes the function of secondary characters to expose the correlation between the contrasting ideas of idealism and cynicism. The three minor characters of Esmé, her brother Charles, and Corporal Z all play different but necessary roles in the mental and emotional development of the main character, Sergeant X. While the characters of Esmé and Charles represent the best traits of humanity, their lifestyles contrast that of Corporal Z, a pessimistic and rude war veteran. After Salinger sets a standard of ideal human nature through the two siblings and their interaction with Sergeant X, he purposefully introduces Corporal Z into the story to help demonstrate the differences between the personalities of idealistic and cynical people; in doing so, Salinger reveals relationships between youthful innocence and idealism, as well as arrogance and cynicism. Esmé s commendable traits, such as her compassion and sophistication, reflect her perfection in the eyes of Sergeant X. From the time she first talks to him at the restaurant, Esmé puts forth effort to develop a friendship and unique bond with the struggling soldier. • 47. Review Of The Jati Aaron Thomas Nancey Moore HIS 111 4106 9 September 2015 The Jati Thousands of years ago in Asia, a book was written that gave social structure that would go on through the ages in India. Today that social structure is called the Jati or in English words, the Caste system. While it has undergone a few changes here and there, the system has relatively been unchanged and just like thousands of years ago when it was first introduced in the Vedas, it exists in modern day India as a part of society in it. This paper will go over a more detailed explanation of the Jati as well as the classes and books that defined the Jati system, most notably the Laws of Mandu . Jati translates to caste so in English it is called the Caste system. In the Jati system there are four main castes one falls under: Shudra, Viasya, Kshatryia and Bhramin. Outside of the caste system are the outcasts or also called untouchables. Within these main four castes there are thousands of subcastes a group of people will fall under. One important thing to note where unlike most social classes of ancient time, in the Jati system, it is possible to move up in the caste. While a subcaste may not move up as an individually, the entire group can move up. So while there is subcaste A and subcaste B. While Subcaste B is currently higher up on the caste it is possibly for subcaste A as a whole to move up above subcaste B. This is the beauty of the Jati system, groups are not permanently logged into one place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The high rotation speed will cause not only the dramatic increase of temperature but also the loud noise. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature, and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically. The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable, therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. On the contrary, the cooling system can decrease the power while the temperature is low. To successfully implement right sizing cooling system, the data center operators should take additional methods to measure the temperature [5]. Thirdly, the energy efficiency of server processors is also helpful for reducing energy consumption ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
