applied. This work focuses on two methods such as artificial neural networks(ANN) using software (pythia) and response
surface methodology (RSM) to predict the tensile strength, the percentage of elongation and hardness of friction stir
welded 6061 aluminum alloy. An artificial neural network (ANN) model was developed for the analysis of the friction stir
welding parameters of Al 6061aluminum pipe.
The tensile strength, the percentage of elongation and hardness of weld joints were predicted by taking the parameters

Film Review of the King of Masks Essay
The King of Masks , directed by Wu Tianming, is a sentimental melodrama with many underlying themes, one of which is
the theme of love. The plot of the film, the morals that it teaches, and its impact on the audience all revolve around love.
The King of Masks centers around the old street performer, Wang, played by Zhu Xu, who is desperately in search of a
male successor to inherit his secret art of face changing . Fate allows him to meet with Doggie, a young child whose role is
heartwarmingly played by the child actress Zhou Renying, who herself was sent away by her impoverished family to join

Another instance of this can be seen when Wang willingly buys Doggie new clothes although he himself was poor and
going through hardships as shown by his modest attire and humble riverboat home. When Doggie falls sick and Wang
does not possess enough money to buy medicine, he even sacrifices the family treasure which had been passed down to
him through generations in order to cure her. This all shows that Wang values Doggie s life and wellbeing more than
money and material possessions no matter how important they were to him. These events foreshadow the significance of
supporting each other through frugal times, even if it includes self sacrifice. Doggie is shown to remunerate the old
performer s benevolence later on in the movie following Wu s use of foreshadowing. The film explores the subject of
mutual need which exists between the old man and the child. The old man needs someone in his life to cure his loneliness
and a heir to inherit his art whilst the child longs for a home and compassion (Stack, 1999). Both of their needs are
satisfied when their lives cross and they begin living together in Wang s small riverboat home. Wang and Doggie s
emotional bonds shown in the initial half of the film seemed almost like that of a real grandfather and grandson, related by
blood. Doggie cooks for Wang and scratches his back, an act which is often only exchanged between the closest of family

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ( Ards )
According to the American Lung Association, Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a rapidly progressive
disease occurring in critically ill patients. ARDS is an extreme manifestation of a lung injury that can be associated with an
acute medical problem. This occurs as a result of direct or indirect trauma to the lungs. With nearly 200,000 cases in the
United States each year, ARDS is not extremely common ( Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ). Most people who
acquire this disease are critically ill patients within the hospital. The most common predisposing medical problems of
ARDS consist of: shock, trauma, pulmonary infections, sepsis, aspiration, and cardiopulmonary bypass (Ignatavicious,
2013). ARDS is a severe syndrome and even with prompt and aggressive medical treatment, almost fifty percent of those
diagnosed do not survive. Those who survive have a longer hospital stay along with recurring hospital admissions
throughout their lifetime ( Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ). Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a rapidly
progressive disease which requires thorough assessment, rapid diagnosis, and emergency treatment measures in order to
successfully respond to the disease process.
ARDS is acute respiratory failure with persistent hypoxemia, decreased pulmonary compliance, dyspnea, noncardiac
associated pulmonary edema, and dense pulmonary infiltrates on the chest x ray. The main site of injury within the lung is

In his Junior year, 2012, he was capable of being named the St. Louis Post Dispatch offensive player of the year after
rushing for an impressive 1,802 yards and thirty four touchdowns and receiving twenty passes for 401 yards and scoring
six times. While he was a Senior, 2013, he had 3,061 all purpose yards and fifty total touchdowns, in those fifty

State championships at the Missouri Class 3 State Championships within a two and a half hour time span 100 meter dash,
200 meter dash, 110 high hurdles and 300 hurdles. He was on fire at that meet and recorded career best times of 10.95
seconds in the 100 meter dash, 22.05 seconds in the 200 meter dash, 13.77 seconds in the 110m hurdles and 37.52 seconds
in the 300m hurdles. Zeke was named the Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year in the state of Missouri. Zeke was considered
a four star recruit by scout.com and he was also listed as the number nine running back in the nation in 2013. Now just

For this unit, I decided to read Kafka s In the Penal Colony. The author, Franz Kafka, was an early 20th century middle
class Jew who lived in Prague and wrote mostly in German. The present short story, published in 1919, refers to an
unnamed penal colony somewhere in the tropics and focuses on four characters: the commander of the camp, an invited
foreign dignitary, a guard, and a victim. The story revolves a twisted idea of justice, where the punishment does not fit the
crime, and the condemned does not know neither the charge nor the nature of his punishment. Indeed, justice seems
completely irrelevant to the commander who is only fascinated with the torturing as an art and science; the apotheosis of
the latter represented with the torturing machine that resembles a CNC router that inscribes the accusation on the skin of
the condemned who then dies slowly from bleeding. The first thing that impressed me what the prescience of the author,
who almost anticipated the misery of the Nazi and Communist concentration camps. Certainly, penal camps existed prior
to his writing, and these might have served as a model; in Czarist Russia, for example, criminals and political radicals
were sent to labor camps in Siberia with famous exiles being Dostoyevsky and Lenin. Yet, despite the harsh conditions of
these places, the idea remained that the punishment had to fit the crime and there was a personal interaction between camp

Theme Of Hally In Athol Fugard s Master Harold
It s not fair, is it ... What, chum ... a nigger s arse ... and then we both have a good laugh (55). Hally, a young, white
teenager in Apartheid Era South Africa tells this joke to Sam, his black friend and father figure, almost irreparably ruining
their relationship in Athol Fugard s 1982 play, Master Harold ... and the boys. Sam and Willie, another middle aged black
man, work for Hally s mother at her Tea Shop while pursuing amateur dance on the side. Willie isn t as close to Hally as
Sam is, nor is he as wise, and his broken relationship with his dance partner, Hilda, is analogous to Hally s troubles with
his own father, who is an alcoholic cripple. These characters all have grievous flaws that appear nearly irredeemable at
first. In his play, Athol Fugard conveys that it is never too late to change for the better using symbolism, metaphor, and
dynamic characters. The author uses a park bench to symbolize racism, but Sam uses it to explain the possibility of Hally s
redemption. The bench is where Hally sat after Sam took him kite flying in the park; Sam does not sit down, instead
leaving because he had work to do (30). It becomes obvious that the bench represents racism when Sam reveals it was a
Whites Only bench, and that s why he couldn t stay with Hally (58). Hally s ignorance towards the whites only sign serves
