The Role Of Abortion In The United States
Over the past few centuries state and federal laws concerning a females reproductive rights have
changed dramatically. The female population has been greatly affected by many laws regarding their
reproductive rights and their ability to make educated decisions about family planning. The 1973 case
Roe vs. Wade set the motion to allow women to control their bodies and their decision to end a
pregnancy through abortion. Prior to this case, in almost all 50 states abortions were deemed illegal.

women had to fight for many reproductive rights, including birth control for all females, not just

Alcoholics Anonymous Support Groups
Support groups have evolved drastically to the point that participants are learning and teaching others
about similar arguments and coping skills. These groups reinforce professional and non professional
procedures for the better good of the community, as well as providing individuality for certain groups
of people. At the same time, participants are becoming intimated by society and the stigmas they place
upon support groups. Although support groups might have some negative understanding from society,
there are also benefits that overcome the public stigma, and helps the community and its civilians to
disseminate information on research, treatment, resources, and methods of coping. With that in mind,
support groups of any kind helps everyone in need.

Postmodern Noir Vs Cyber-Noir
Postmodern noir and Cyber noir
Across all noir periods there exists a unifying set of traits that link them all together and at the core of
that set is the desire to destabilize and unsettle the audience while also portraying a world in which
light and dark are in constant battle. As the 21st century furthers technological advancements in the
film industry the boundaries of what can be noir become even more blurred, giving way to what many
scholars call the post modern neo noir, or postmodern noir era. A fundamental aspect of
postmodernism is a propensity to destabilize the genre s realistic grounding. Postmodern film noir
involves a fundamental shift in the conception of artistic production in which creativity is no longer

Persuasive Essay On Art Theft
Research Paper The Nazis hid, destroyed and plundered thousands of pieces of art and literature; the
number is so high that experts cannot accurately estimate the amount of art stolen. The art theft,
instigated by the Nazis under Hitler s order, began six years before the second World War had even
started ( Documents Region, City, and Countryside 1). In response to the growing number of artwork
being stolen and destroyed, special commissions were formed to protect the art. The Nazis plundering
and destroying art was beneficial in the way that it united countless people from all over the world
against the destruction of the priceless art, which led to the creation of international art protection
programs and gained funding and support from the public and the government. Adolf Hitler, before he
began the notorious German regime in 1919, had aspirations to be an artist. He applied to the Vienna
Academy of Fine Arts in 1907; his aspirations to become an artist did not become a reality as his
application to the art school was rejected. This motivated his hatred towards degenerate art, a type of
art that was described as modern; Hitler was known to describe it as Jewish or communist in nature.
Hitler pushed the classical art ideal, in which the only type of art allowed to be showcased in museums
were classical pieces from artists such as Phidias and Picasso (Campbell 1). As the German regime
began to gain wealth and power, the Nazis were ordered to begin to contact art

Judah
Jacob was aware his life was coming to an end. Thankfully, the last seventeen years were spent with
his twelve sons and their families all together again, settled in the land of Egypt, in the region of
Goshen (Gen 47:27 28). He calls for his sons to come receive their blessings, and he predicts the
future for the twelve tribes that will be established through them. These prophecies give way to the
imminent manifestations throughout history of the twelve tribes of Israel. Jacob, also known as Israel,
gives Judah a special blessing and prophecy for his seed , especially compared to his other brothers
with the exception of Joseph. Judah s divine blessing from Israel foretells of the royal lineage, military

The kingship will remain with Judah, until the Messianic promise made to Abraham is finally known
in Jesus Christ (Gal 3:16).12 The concluding section of verse ten refers to the obedience of the people.
The broader view of this text would be the tribunal obedience of Israel to the royal family. However,
since Christ has come to earth and made known His rightful position, only those who chose to submit
to Him will be obedient (John 15:1 8). Yet, when He returns for the final time in His glory, at that
point, all will display humble obedience towards Him (Dan 7:27).13 Verse 11 The context of verse
eleven discloses the fact that there will be great financial prosperity and abundance during the reign of
the Messiah. It is made evident by tethering the donkey to productive vines allowing them to graze on
it without worry what damage it might cause the harvest. Also, the plentiful amount of wine being

The Political Philosophy Of Niccolo Machiavelli And Socrates
Among the most well known and notorious philosophers, Niccolo Machiavelli and Socrates laid the
groundwork for western political philosophy and modern day politics. Though both lived through
times of political transition and war, the fragility of their politics, violence of their wars, and the
leaders they lived under influenced the development of their differing ideologies about the governing
of principalities.
From Machiavelli s experience, came, The Prince, a guidebook about the importance of self
preservation when leading a principality that was gifted to then governor of Florence Lorenzo de
Medici. The primary ideas shared, rely on committing acts of evil if they are justified with reasoning.
From Socrates lifetime came an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Socrates had operated under Machiavelli s leadership style, he would have escaped with Crito and
chosen self preservation and survival over making the right decision and being executed for his
actions
Another requirement of Machiavelli s Prince is a façade for the public that complies with their every
want and need. To the Prince, Machiavelli directed that everyone sees what you appear to be, few
experience what you really are (The Prince, Chapter XVIII). Behind the mask and façade, the Prince
must do whatever is necessary to remain in power and benefit oneself, even if that means doing
something morally wrong. Creating a façade for the public eye and deceiving one s citizens, to
Socrates, would be considered immoral as it does not promote the common good, but helps hide the
Prince advancing his individual ideologies. Morality is the philosophical distinction between what is
right and what is wrong. In terms of leadership, Socrates believes that leaders should use morality to
make the right decisions regardless of the outcome, as the moral decision will always benefit a society
as opposed to risking a wrong choice. Socrates idea of morality and doing what is morally correct
despite the outcome is absolutely opposite to a façade of benevolence. Due to this promotion of
deception within a principality, Socrates would not agree with Machiavelli s style of leadership.

Passage Analysis Although the key passage selected form The Great Gatsby be F. Scott Fitzgerald is a
flashback, it is crucial to recognize the relevance between this passage and the plot of the book.
Looking closer at the passage, it is apparent that Fitzgerald uses characterization and theme to relate
this section back to the plot. The characterization of Gatsby and Daisy eliminates any question of what
occurred between them in their somewhat scandalous past, while exciting the theme simultaneously.
Although many themes are portrayed throughout the novel, the most prominent is the concept of
living in the past. There is nothing wrong with remembering the good times, but living in the past
leads to tragedy. In The Great Gatsby, characters pursue future visions that are determined by their
pasts. Gatsby suffers from past memories of Daisy and tries to relive the relationship and in the
process, Gatsby was murdered. In the key passage above it states She wanted her life shaped now,
immediately (line ) This quote explains that Daisy could no longer wait for Gatsby to return, which is
ironic considering many years later, Gatsby could not wait any longer for

The Characteristics Of Forensic Anthropology
Introduction and background:
Forensic anthropology is a multi disciplinary industry where understanding biological anthropology
and knowledge of human osteology is needed to assist in positively identifying an individual,
(Quinney et al., 2009). The purpose of forensic anthropology is to aid in the identification process of
human skeletal material by means of establishing a biological profile. A biological profile is formed
by the following fundamental characteristics: age, ancestry, stature and sex. Sex determination is
essential in the identification process of human remains, as the number of potential matches is halved,
(Loth and Iscan, 2000) as cited by Bidmos et al., 2010. Other characteristics, such as age, are
dependent on knowing the sex of the individual, (Bidmos et al., 2010).
Therefore, sexual dimorphism, which is the differences between males and females due to intrinsic
factors (hormones) and extrinsic factors (the environment), provides variation between male and
female skeletal material. These differences allow for easier reconstruction of a biological profile. The
pelvis is a good indicator of sex as it has a high degree of reliability, (Phenice, 1969). However, it ...

William Wilberforce was a very brave man that spoke his mind and tried to abolish slavery. He was
alive during a very important time when slavery was very high, and he wanted to get rid of it. He was
born on August 24, 1759, in Hull, England, to a rich business man.3 Wilberforce studied at Cambridge
University. He later became an evangelical Christian.3 He was brave to keep getting up and speaking
his opinion in Parliament every time he got a chance. Wilberforce would never get mad when his ideas
got denied, instead he was always very slow to anger. He was a very humble man in many aspects. He
would always help people in need. He abstained from alcohol and card playing, while practicing self
examination to maintain his Christian character.2 During his time in politics, Wilberforce did not get
caught up in all the negative social activities that go with politics.2 He married an evangelical
Christian named Barbara Spooner when he was in his thirties.4 He always served God and
demonstrated his love of God during his service in Parliament. On October 28, 1787, William

Poverty In Third World Countries
The effects of poverty have been around for hundreds of years; as it is apparent within third world
countries like North Korea, Sudan, and Somalia. Third world countries are not the only ones that are
affected due to poverty first world countries like Australia, The United States of America, and Canada
also face poverty. The definition of poverty is very controversial as every country has a different
poverty line, due to the finical status of the country. The most commonly used definition for poverty is
someone that is lacking a significant amount of money from which they cannot pay for necessities,
such as food and shelter. Which could lead to those in poverty becoming obese through having a
heaving sugar based diet, buying packaged food, and having fast food frequently due to how cheap it
is. It could eventually lead to many gaining life threatening diseases, such as diabetes at different
severities. Due to being in poverty many are unable to gain health insurance, and the proper care to
reduce the impact that diabetes has on their day to day lives. Within first world countries such as The
United States the lower class is living in unlivable conditions and are not able to gain the proper care
and food. The group that is hit the worst within America are the immigrants, due to not being able to
find high paying jobs and not knowing the language clearly which causes a language barrier. Due to

Reading Lolita Into Tehran Essay
Azar Nafisi uses the power of western literature to illustrate to her seven women students the
importance of connecting books to fictional imagination. She wanted to challenge her students to
discuss the relation between fiction and reality. (Pg 6) Women in Tehran, when the Iranian revolution
began, had little or no freedoms out of their houses. Nafisi took an enormous risk by inviting these
seven women into her house to discuss literature. If caught she and or her students could face jail time
because the books were banned in fear of conspiracy against the new revolutionary Iran. In the

Women took power over men and had the ability to create their own destiny. Nafisi explains Gatsby
was constantly reinventing himself, being dishonest about his life and background, but in order to
achieve his dream, Daisy, he could not escape his own imagination and/or truth. Once reaching his
dream, his life would have no meaning. Gatsby, like most Iranian women, needed to learn that the past
was dead, the present is what we have today, and the future is what we can create in our own dreams
and imagination. With the loss of dream in their current situation the students were able posses their
dreams through books. In order to create your dream you must engulf yourself in a novel. A novel is
not an allegory. It is the sensual experience of another world. If you don t enter that world, Nafisi
explained, hold your breath with the characters and become involved in their destiny, you won t be
able to empathize, and empathy is at the heart of the novel. This is how you read a novel: you inhale
the experience. (pg 111) Nafisi taught those seven women how to gasp freedoms in which literature
brings to life. Through Nafisi s classroom, each of the girls was able to escape the horrible reality of
what was occurring around them. Being a teacher, Nafisi had the power to enlighten and inspire her
students to leave reality and escape into a fictional world. In this imaginative world, inside Nafisi s

Comic Relief And Gravediggers In Hamlet
Hamlet is classified as a Shakespearian tragedy, even so, a handful of comedic scenes play powerful
roles in the plotline of the play. Comic relief serves a more significant thematic purpose than to merely
mitigate apprehension. While the gravediggers in Hamlet depict humorous characters in Act V. scene
I, repartee is interwoven with some surprisingly ironic and profound insights. For instance, their
discussion regarding Ophelia advances a chief theme in the play: the controversy around moral
legitimacy of suicide subservient to theological law. By granting this hefty topic a darkly comic
rendition, Shakespeare creates a grotesque satire of Hamlet s To be, or not to be soliloquy (III.i),
suggesting the subsidence of the remaining ethics in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two gravediggers are the first instances of common people in the play they emerge in blatant
juxtaposition with the other characters, all of royal/noble status, and thus can delineate an
unprecedented point of view. The second gravedigger offers the duplicity of the royalty/nobility
through the case of Ophelia s suicide: If this had not been a gentlewoman, she should have been
buried out o Christian burial (p. 23 25). In other words, the upper class, while proclaiming faith in
Christianity, absolves sins perpetrated by nobles, yet still holds the common people accountable for
their sins. The upper class can essentially evade eternal damnation because they are of royal lineage.
Here, the gravediggers converse about Ophelia having a Christian burial despite the fact that many
believe she killed herself even the priest suspects she had committed suicide. On the contrary, if she
was a commoner she would have not acquired the privilege of a Christian burial. Shakespeare is
attempting to emphasize this

An Analysis Of Robert Leckie s The Mystery Of The...
The difficulties of staying sane are immense during war and tragedies. Despite being institutionalized
and constant attempts to change one s mindset and demeanor, the war didn t alter Robert Leckie s
overall personality and traits as a man. Continuous physical and psychological battles erupted during
World War II. Robert Leckie managed to remain sane, balanced, and humble enough to paint a clear
picture of graphic and vivid altercations and battles. During the war, like most marines, Leckie began
to question his intellect and the things he believed was significant. He assumed that he was becoming
to understand and perceive most of the enigmas within reality, until he got to war. The mystery of the
universe had once inhabited these lolling lumps, had given each an identity, a way of walking, perhaps
a social habit of address or a way with words or a knack of putting color on canvas. They had been so
different, then. Now they were nothing, heaps of nothing . (Helmet for My Pillow p 37) When relating
to the bullets in and the power of guns, Leckie wondered how many lives are altered and obliterated
by a quarter inch of heated metal. Does this force, this mystery, I mean this soul does this spill out on
the ground along with the blood? No. It is somewhere, I know it. Another instance is when a Japanese

Examples Of Ambiguity In Catullus
V Ambiguity and Paradoxes
Ambiguity can be defined as a word, phrase, or statement which contains more than one meaning.
Ambiguity leads to vagueness and confusion which creates alternative reactions and understanding of
the same work.
Catullus uses ambiguity to create a sensation that one situation is taking place even when reading the
verse form in context or merely studying the poem in its entirety the work takes on a whole new
significance.
The poem opens with depictions of beauty imaginary of the Argo s first voyage alluding that poem
may be about the myth of Jason and Medea. Later in line 19 though we see the real subject of the
poem is Peleus and Thetis, how they fell in love and their marriage, however, things take a dramatic
turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is the tapestry Ariadne appears on. Catullus does not state its source and origin nor
its purpose.
Yet, more than half of the poem is narrated through the tapestry. We are to believe what it sees, hears
and says but we only have one side, and see a forgetful Theseus whose promises are fitting to write on
the wind. Paradoxically, however, what Ariadne sees also alludes to, and so makes us see, a different
picture: a Theseus who could have been made forgetful to serve the purposes of Bacch.
In poem 85 as discussed above, Catullus also makes use of paradoxes stating I love and I hate. In 68a
Catullus states that he being overcome by grief due to his brother s death is unable to write. Then in
68b although he is still experiencing the same pain to which he refers in 68a and in which Catullus
repeats almost exactly what he said in 68a, Catullus states that he cannot stop himself from writing.
He captures two entirely different experiences: first, his inability to write poetry in 68a, due to his
brother death, and second, his inability not to write poetry, despite his brother s

Analysis Of Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton
Everyone is watching the general election. From the majority of all Americans to America s allies are
paying close attention to the 2016 Election. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are practically the
center of the universe, for they will both have major changes upon being elected president of the
United States. Both candidates should be wary of what they say in public, because they are considered
role models to young children. Trump has been known to speak his mind without a filter, and not be
politically correct. Clinton s campaign aims to use Trump s unfiltered opinion to sway the audience to
vote for her. The advertisement video wants the audience to know that he is unfit, because his
untamable temperament and unpredictability can terminate alliance and any progression made from

Becoming A Fashion Retail Buyer Essay
Career Research Paper Growing up my thoughts and decisions constantly have changed from one to
another. I never can really stay to a plan for so long without changing my mind. However, what I have
found that has kept me grounded and staying on course is fashion design and retail. I am able to
express myself through this medium and eventually I plan on becoming a fashion retail buyer myself.
Also, I want to be involved in promoting campaigns and advertisements for the newest trends. One of
the many highlights of this job is being able to travel to different states and even countries to attend
trade fairs as well as visit certain suppliers. As a retail buyer, the buyer is responsible for selecting
products up to date with trends and to sell them in retail shops. To become a fashion buyer one must
attain a 2 4 year college degree. Along with this, when attending college a student should major in
either business, marketing, or merchandising. Although internships are not required, except for certain
particular business classes or programs, interning could possibly benefit someone to achieve the
highest potential in their job. While training a person needs to learn the knowledge of fashion, retail,
and economics. I would imagine that one must have first hand experience in retail, which I would
assume helps the person train for the job. The company s I seek interest in are higher end boutiques

How Did Buddy Holly Influence Popular Music
Even Though Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly are both singer/song writers, their journeys have taken
them down completely different paths. One has had a long career in the industry and the other has
unfortunately has had a short career. Both have had wonderful and successful lives and are still well
known for what they accomplished with their music. Buddy Holly played rock n roll for a few short
year but the music he recorded in that time has made a major and forever lasting impact on popular
music. Not only did he write his own music, but he was also the first to exploit advanced studio
techniques such as double tracking, (rockhall.com). Bob Dylan on the other hand is a recognized poet
laureate of the rock n roll era and the pre eminent singer/songwriter of modern times. No matter if he
is singing topical folk songs, exploring rootsy rock and blues, or delivering one of his abstract,
allegorical compositions, he is always demonstrating a rare ability to reach listeners with his lyrics,
(rockhall.com).
Buddy Holly was born on September 7th, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas. His birth name was Charles Hardin
Holley, he is the youngest out of four children. He got the name Buddy from his mother, who felt his
birth name was too big for a young boy. Holly learned to play the piano and the fiddle when he was
pretty young, and his brothers taught him how to play the guitar. After Buddy graduated High School,
he formed a band that played country and western songs on the radio. He occasionally

complications of this hunting and their failure to take action. First, the Japanese delegates within the
IWC refuse to recognize dolphins as part of the whale family, however dolphins are within the same
kingdom, class, and order of whales. In addition to this, to gain votes, Japan helps poor nations in

The correlation of this issue of mercury poisoning and dolphin hunting begins with the Minamata
disease that was discovered in the 1950s. The Minamata disease is a neurological syndrome due to
mercury poisoning, there is a segment within the film showing people suffering from the disease and
people trying to protest the government in order to show the world the issue of mercury poisoning. At
the same time, they protested the government because the government chose to ignore the problem
and the government also attempted to cover it all up from public view by calling the disease
contagious. To clarify, dolphin meat contains extremely high levels of mercury due to the environment
they live in, which also means the ocean contains mercury as well. The Japanese people are eating this
mercury contaminated dolphin meat while the government and the IWC are ignoring the connection of
mercury poisoning due to dolphin meat consumption and ignoring the past events of the Minamata

What do these two quotes have in common? You re Chev Chelios, right? The sickest, most wicked ist

MPAA, the Motion Picture Association of America, these two films are equal and the same people
who can view The Breakfast Club are just as mature to see Chev Chelios have sex on a derby horse

Many people criticize them for having biased ratings against films that aren t produced by one of the
major film companies. Why? Because the people in the MPAA that vote on movie ratings are made up
of employees of the 6 biggest movie producers: Disney, Paramount, Sony, Fox, Universal, and Warner
Bros. (6) It is shown in a study by David Waguespack, an assistant professor at the University of
Maryland s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and Olav Sorenson, a professor at Yale s School of
Management, that movies made by these 6 companies are 7% less likely to receive an R rating. This
may not seem like a lot, but to an independent filmmaker such as myself, who needs to work so much
harder with a way smaller budget to produce something of quality and have bias against me, is
incredibly unfair. The difference between PG 13 and R is huge. Not only do you have to be 17 to see
an R rated film, cutting out 22% of moviegoers in 2014 completely, but that R rating also carries a bad
connotation with it, deterring others who might have seen it if it weren t rated so harshly.

Essay on Use of DBCP and Relation to Infertility
Use of DBCP and relation to infertility
Dow produced DBCP (1,2 dibromo 3 chloropropane), a soil fumigant, and nematicide, which was sold
under the names the Nemagon and Fumazone until the late 1970s. US banned DBCP in 1979 after it
was linked to human sterility in California. But, Dow and three other companies continued producing
the hazardous pesticide DBCP for years after it was banned and exported it to developing countries.
Animal testing had revealed that the product caused male sterility in rats and the companies knew

Acquisition of Union Carbide
The Bhopal Disaster of 1984 was the worst industrial disaster in the history of the world. It was
caused by the accidental release of methyl isocyanate (MIC) from a Union Carbide India, Limited
(UCIL) pesticide plant located in the heart of the city of Bhopal. UCIL was a joint venture between
Union Carbide and a public/private consortium of Indian investors. The MIC leak killed thousands
outright and injured anywhere from 150,000 to 600,000 others, at least 15,000 of whom died later
from their injuries. The contamination due to the leak is still active and no cleanup has been done till
now.
Despite the involvement of Union Carbide in a criminal case in India, location of the plant in the heart
of the city and the disaster site still not cleaned up, Dow bought Union Carbide in 2001. The transfer
of ownership led to complicating the issue of cleaning up the plant and its environs of hundreds of

Scottsboro Trial In To Kill A Mockingbird
Ever since the inception of slavery in the United States, white families have falsely accused black men
of rape in order to gain power and demonize their slaves. Rape has been used by white men in order to
gain and keep power since the beginnings of their supremacy (Haynes 1). This is true for both actual
rape and false rape accusations, as assault takes away a victim s power and a false accusation takes
away that of the accused. As such, white families have accused men, specifically black men, of raping
the white women in their communities and families for centuries. Almost all of these cases resulted in
the death of the defendant, either by lynching (the illegal murder of a marginalized person) or the
death penalty. Of these deaths, 66% ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is due to a centuries old racial tension in this part of the country. Subsequently, it is also the
setting for To Kill A Mockingbird. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses the trial of Tom
Robinson to showcase how false rape accusations such as the trial of Pleasant, a slave, and the
Scottsboro trials were used as power plays by white families against black men.
In the case of Tom Robinson, Mayella and Bob Ewell used rape accusations in order to obtain power
and control over Tom and the black community of Maycomb, Alabama. Mayella claims that Tom
choked and beat her with his left hand and proceeded to rape her until her father returned home.
However, Tom s left arm was fully twelve inches shorter than his right, and hung dead at his side (Lee
248). This reveals that her story about him beating her could not have been true. The use of the word
dead is an indication that he has no control whatsoever over his hand. As his left hand was useless,
Tom could not have caused bruising to the right side of her face. Even after her story was disproven,
Tom was found guilty, largely due to the fact that his jury was comprised of white farmers and not of
his peers. According to Scout

Florida’s Incompetent Capital Punishment System
Many times when watching television, we see horrible news about a crime committed, which is most
likely is not in self defense. The first thing that comes to our minds; this person is going to receive the
death penalty. First degree murder triggers our emotions to see justice. Even in a country where
everyone is innocent until proven guilty, we are quick to pass judgment and convict the suspect in
question. With technology so advanced in the United States where we can receive the news even into
our phones, many times the accused do not received a fair trial. On the other hand, the incompetence

Supporters believe murder for murders is the only way to bring justice, and people would consider the
analogy before committing these types of crimes. Supporters of the capital punishment system penalty
argue that when enforced, the death penalty saves lives. The fault placed into the opposing side for
using the system with new trials to postpone execution. The problem with that argument is that in
Florida, a total of twenty five death row prisoners had been released due to erroneous convictions and
were able to prove innocence, not a strong argument when lives are at risk. Meanwhile, the police
department is facing budget cuts because the state of Florida is facing a deficit of billions of dollars.
At this moment, budget cuts are affecting all government departments not only the police Department,
but also fire department and education are also been affected. Fifty one million dollars is the cost to
enforce death penalty in Florida. If the death penalty is eliminated, would be a savings of eleven
millions would be saved just in specialist lawyers for death penalty cases. Imagine allocating eleven
million dollars just in the police department for crime prevention. Supporters of the death penalty will
argue that life in prison is not enough to bring the much needed justice to the families of the victims.

When thinking about vacuum pressure pump you will find a number of different points to consider.
One thing that you will have to think about is the kind of device that runs your vacuum pump. Just like
everything you will find benefits and drawbacks. Let us have a look at a few of the different products
you can buy to operate your vacuum pump.
Among the products is definitely an ejector. This is among the easiest and generally utilized as
vacuum pressure producer. The fundamental procedure for the ejector is it converts pressure energy of
the motive fluid into velocity energy because it flows via a usual small nozzle. Ejectors use various
sorts of motive fluid. Steam is among the most typical liquids. A few of the pros ... Show more content

variety of different programs demanding reliable and price effective functioning. These pumps would
be the epitome of simplicity and employ centrifugal pressure to maneuver liquids through piping
systems.
A centrifugal pump converts primer mover s energy into kinetic energy and subsequently this kinetic
energy is changed into pressure energy from the fluid being pumped. It offers an impeller having a
central eye by which the fluid makes its way into the pump. Our prime speed impeller speeds up the
fluid radially outward in the pump chasing after. This boosts the fluid pressure and therefore will get
pressed from the pump right into a pipe to carry on its flow.

The Fall Of The City Of Jerusalem
Triston Janise

World history The fall of Jerusalem.
There are many reasons for the fall of the city of Jerusalem. Some of those reasons being that the
defenders of the city were completely out numbered by Saladin s army, the weakness of the city s
walls, a long siege by Saladin s army, and the collapse of the Kingdom of Jerusalem itself. When
Saladin s army approached the city of Jerusalem the defenders of the city was starchily out numbered.
The cause of this was the fact that in a previous battle now known as the battle of Hattin the Jerusalem
force of 16200 men were completely decimated by Saladin s force of 42000 men. The reason for this
great defeat at the hands of Saladin s army was poor leadership. The new king of Jerusalem Guy was
bent on attacking Saladin s army as soon as possible. This caused the new king to leave the city of
Jerusalem with most of its defenders. After he left the city is where he made his biggest military
blunder. He made camp with his army at the first watering hole outside of Jerusalem. Guy and his
army however did not stay long. They soon moved out in search of Saladin s army this was his fatal
mistake. Instead of staying at his original camp where he and his army had a good supply of water he
made a brash decision and decided to march his army in the pursuit of Saladin s army. His original
camp was the only source of water for many miles. With this decision to march without a good supply
of water he made his army very

The Importance of School Counselors
A school counselor s role is vital in many schools across America. Many students see their counselor,
to work on any emotional stressors, academic changes and challenges. This may include,
interventions, group therapy and changes in class schedule, but sometimes with all the
implementations given, students do not succeed in school. Perhaps one needs to take a closer look at
the programs being implemented and its success rate. In addition, a counselor should guide itself using
the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) to provide evidence based practices in schools.
According to Carey and Dimmitt, it is essential for counselors to use evidence based practice to make
sure they are able to ensure and improve student outcomes (2008). ... Show more content on

I find it this more reasonable and effective for a counselor to do. A research based program has done
all the work of creating a variable (experimental group) and a control group to show if a program s
effectiveness. This means the counselor can see the results of the experimental group and see if this
would work for the group intended. As mentioned by Carey and Dimmitt, research based interventions
ensure that the school s resources are invested wisely. This means, the counselor can rely on the
program and be able to predict positive outcomes.
Another method for a counselor to use science in their practice is to make sure the intervention or
program used has strong research support. While many may not hold strong support to be shown to be
effective, a counselor must evaluate its effectiveness for the students. I find this part of science more
difficult for counselors to implement due to time constraints and resources. While there may be many
programs out there, not all may be ideal for all schools. The counselor can experiment and see if
works well for the intended students or perhaps continue to find more research to back up the
program. Often times, this leads to counselors developing their own programs or curriculum but their
outcomes be unknown and not as valid as solid research based programs. Therefore, if the

Additionally, each step along the manufacturing and product development phase is subject to
considerable risks in errors from the operator or the machines (Daft, 2013). These errors account for a
product yield of only 60 70 percent, and the company is at risk for greater risk exposure when the
yields reach the 30 50 percent range as the company may not meet customer request and demands
(Daft, 2013). There are several problems and conflicts that the company faces due to the link between
costs and the individual product unit. First, it is more than the number, the required efficiency in
designing and manufacturing requires a greater dependency on company engineers, resulting in
customer uncertainty in delivered products due to the required level of perfection in the development
process. I feel there are some measurable areas that need to be continually evaluated to determine the
highest probabilities of error in machine and man, the points in the manufacturing process, and the
influencing circumstances that contribute to product flaws. I feel this data must be measured in a study

The problem cannot be address appropriately unless the experts identify what is actually contributing
to or causing the increase in failed products. After these points have been identified, then company

Use of Epithets In Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey Essay
Use of Epithets In Homer s Iliad and Odyssey
Throughout The Iliad and The Odyssey, Homer s use of the epithet in describing Odysseus becomes
essential as a means of characterizing the hero. Homer uses several epithets, or nicknames, along with
the name Odysseus as the story unfolds in both tales. Three of these include the descriptive epithet
wily Odysseus, the laudative epithet Odysseus, the great tactician, and the patronymic epithet
Odysseus Laertiades. Besides their obvious descriptive qualities, each of these epithets function to
amplify, enhance, or characterize the hero.
Although the epithet wily Odysseus serves a descriptive purpose, it also serves other purposes as well.

After Penelope is sent away by Telemachus, Athena suddenly appears amidst a bright light before him
and Odysseus. The young, brash Telemachus nearly cried out, giving her presence away to others in
the house of Odysseus, but Odysseus stopped him, saying, Be still: keep still about it: just remember
it. The gods who rule Olympus make this light (Odyssey 354). Here, Odysseus quick, yet tactful reply
to Telemachus perhaps saved the day, and Telemachus, because he didn t feel ashamed at his father s
response to his foolishness, maintained his bravery and focused upon the task at hand.
Indeed, while the first two examples of epithets seem similar in their descriptive purposes, the last
epithet, Odysseus Laertiades, is different in that it is a patronymic epithet. In other words, Laertiades
indicates the identity of Odysseus father, Laertes. This epithet seems to be used most when Odysseus
is addressed formally by another character. One reason for this use might be to qualify Odysseus for
respect; although Odysseus is a king himself, he is also the son of another king, Laertes. His pedigree
demanded respect, and when he is addressed by this name, it is usually when being approached by
others of similar rank and/or status. One such instance occurred in The Iliad when Odysseus and Ajax
were sent to persuade Achilles to join the war. After Odysseus voiced the Achaeans wishes, Achilles,

Silver Raindrop Monologue
I still remember the dreadful day of pain, seared into my memory for all of eternity. The salty smell of
blood filled the dark and smoky air. Gunshots rang through the air, echoing through the trees; yet the
white flag flew high above us. Bullets rained from the sky knocking leaves and needles from the tree
limbs and cut perfect circles through our tepees. An infant cried out hidden in the blood of his dead
mother. Then, in the shower of deadly metal, a silver raindrop passed through the infant s head and for
one fateful second, everything became silent. Yet the rain of death persisted causing even more
fatalities. I remember running as fast as my legs could carry me, trying to keep up with the rest of our
people while doing my best to hide from the rain of death falling from the heavens.
Dehydrated and weak, I could run no further and collapsed in the vast plains with my travois in tow
behind me. For the next moon, my brothers and sisters walked in a straight line, following the star that
never move. Every day cycled into the same pattern, walking stopping, eating, sleeping, and repeating.

How are infections of upper respiratory tract different from those of lower respiratory tract?
The main difference is the location of the infection. An upper respiratory tract infection would include
infection of the nose, nasal cavity, nasal and paranasal sinuses, the larynx and pharynex. A lower
respiratory infection would include infection of the traches, bronchi, or bronchial tree, the lungs or
pleural cavitiy.
Why are infections of the upper respiratory tract milder as compared to those pertaining to the lower
respiratory tract?
Lower rspiratory tract infections have secretions low down that can block the airways and prevent
sufficient oxygen being available to the lungs (Health Blurbs, 2015).
. Upper respriatory tract infections aren t so bad because if your nose is blocked you can breathe

Binge Drinking and How It Applies to the Ottawa Charter
Classical conditioning Classical conditioning is a form of basic learning the body automatically
responds to a stimulus. One stimulus takes on the properties of another. The Russian physiologist Ivan
Pavlov (1849 1936) is credited for discovering the basic principles of classical conditioning whilst he
was studying digestion in dogs. He developed a technique for collecting dog s salivary secretions.
Pavlov (cited in Eysneck M.W 2009) noticed that the dogs would often start salivating before they
were given any food or saw the feeding bucket or even when they heard the footstep of the laboratory
assistant coming to feed them. Quite by accident Pavlov had discovered that the environmental control
of behaviour can be changed as a result ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argued that people could learn new information by observing other people this type of learning can
be used to explain a wide variety of behaviours.(Cited in Eysenck, M 2009) for example Teenagers
wanting to be thin like the models that they observe on the television or on the computer. Bandura
(1965) Three groups of young children watched a film about adults behaving aggressively towards
inflatable Bobo dolls. In one of the films it showed adults being rewarded for aggressive behaviour.
The second group were scolded and the third group were neither rewarded or punished. All children
showed increased aggression if offered a reward for what they learnt, and the behaviour decreases if
they are punished. (Cited in Gross 2009). for example social learning can be learnt through the media.
Pop stars are often seen as role models, and children of smokers are more likely to smoke when they
are adults. Phobic patient benefit more from watching fearful patients gradually overcome their fears.
(Cited in Gerry,K.et alt 1996) There are three core concepts in social learning, first learning through
observation, mental state is essential part of the process and the theory also recognises that just
because something is learnt doesn t mean it will result in a change in behaviour.(cited in Burns
1995)Positive reinforcement is far more effective than negative reinforcement. Bandura believed that
observation and direct reinforcement could

Literary Analysis Of Revelation By Flannery OConnor
Revelation
Among many diseases, judgment is an epidemic virus within the human mind; more dangerously with
the lack of discernment can create a toxic atmosphere and such intoxication is highlighted within the
short story, Revelation, by Flannery O Connor. The story is set in the south, and revolves around an
irrational yet religious character, name Mrs. Turpin, who overlooks her own flaws to cast judgments
on others. The author uses language, irony, and archetypes within the story to present that judgement
is a form of unconscious self deception that causes hypocritical behavior and ultimately self agitation.
The author demonstrates this by having the characters cast judgment upon each other, which makes
the act of passing judgment on to others an infectious disease fed by society.
The usage of informal language in the beginning of the story, produces transparent characters by
exposing their flaws through their speech. Opening with the reckless announcement addressed by
Mrs.Turpin, I wish I could reduce (3). in front of strangers had marked her hasty character. This early
exposure of her flaw notes the tragedy of her character for being quick to speak, quick to conclude and
quick to judge. As Mrs.Turpin begins to build judgment upon others from Girl Scout Shoes to
bedroom slippers as she expects (5) Mrs.Turpin becomes a false believer, drowning within her own
deceptive conclusion by gripping onto her theory of goodness being carried by people s shoes.
Ultimately,

Free Kick Research Papers
Free Kick is a soccer themed ride. while riding, you will experience weightlessness, constant speed ,
potential energy, Instantaneous speed, and others. When you are riding, you are symbolized as a
soccer ball. The objective is to have your cars go into the goal. If your cars do not make it into the
goal, you fail. Which makes people want to ride the ride more and more. There are two tracks that are
at the goal. So when your car approaches the goal, it could either go into the goal and score, which
would take you through a big drop and 2 loops, taking you back to the station. Or go wide of the goal
and go through 2 loops and come back to the station. If you score, your picture will be taken when you

Elizabeth Gaskell Research Paper
Elizabeth Gaskell wrote many novels, poems and short stories throughout her life in London.
Elizabeth got a lot of her writing inspiration based off her life. An Accursed Race was inspired to be
written by the prejudices in London. ( Thronfield)
Elizabeth was born September 29th, 1810 and was one out of eight children and only her and her
brother, John survived, who later went missing on a trip to India. Her father, William Stevenson was
an Unitarian Minister. Stevenson quit being a minister and moved to London in 1806. Elizabeth,
Williams wife was also from the Unitarian Minister family and that is how they met.
Gaskell had many of her relatives die during her lifetime but she still continued to write. Elizabeth s
mother died thirteen months ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Role of religion would be another theme because religion is one thing that splits up the Cagots from
the others. At the beginning of the sixteenth century the cagots complained to their pope that they
were excluded from the fellowship and accursed from the church.(Gaskell pg 2) An Accursed Race
has a lot of imagery. When Gaskell talks about how the Cagots were punished if they did something
wrong they would take two stripes of flesh from their body, or if they tried to enter the wrong side of
the church people shun them and gave them dirty looks. The story goes into a lot of gory detail, almost
like a sad, horror story because Elizabeth also loved writing horror, ghost stories. The story gives you
a clear picture in your mind of what you would think it would look like if it were a movie. In
conclusion, Elizabeth Gaskell wrote many novels, short stories, poems and ghost stories in her life. An
Accursed Race was a sad story about this group of people called Cagots they couldn t be near a person
who was not a Cagot, or go through the same door even though they had the same religion. The
Cagots eventually had enough and started to complain and demand

Howard Cosell s Impact On The News Business
Cosell s Impact on the News Business: Howard Cosell is known for his impact on the world of Sports

sports and the audience. Cosell started his abundant career with his first sports oriented radio show on
an ABC affiliate. According to Covil, Radio is the one media that has had the greatest impact on sports
and the audience. There is no other form of the media that covers the different levels and varieties of

Movie Adaptations In The Odyssey
Book to movie adaptations have been an increasingly popular style of film. Many believe that the
integrity of book to movie adaptations are lost when films are not exact replicas of the book. However,
adaptations are a form of interpretation that involve some means of redesigning and reconstruction to
convert them into a different art form. In this paper I will argue the reasons why I agree with the claim
that O, Brother Where Art Thou is based on the epic The Odyssey. The basic premise of The Odyssey
is Odysseus journey back home. After the Trojan War and battling many obstacles, Odysseus is
trapped in the island of Ogygia for seven years with the nymph Calypso. Back home, Odysseus wife
Penelope is swarmed by suitors trying to wed her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These include Everett s first name Ulysses being the Latin name for Odysseus, both stories starting
with the calling of the muse, and both main characters encountering a blind person. In The Odyssey,
the blind person is the prophet, Tiresias, who guides him on the future of his journey. In O, Brother
Where Art Thou, Everett and his friends meet a blind person who predicts their future. The sirens and
laundry ladies symbolized temptation using their singing to lure captives. In The Odyssey, Odysseus
evades the sirens by following Circe s advice of having his crew s ears be plugged with beeswax and
have them bind him to the ship (Homer, Book 12, lines 161 190) However, in O, Brother Where Art
Thou, Everett and his friends fall prey to the laundry ladies and they end up using one them as bounty
(0:43 0:46) The lotus eaters and baptizing scene show how the main character s crew got distracted
along the way. In The Odyssey, when Odysseus crew ate the lotus given by the lotus eaters they forgot
about their journey back home and Odysseus had to physically drag them out of the island (Homer,
Book 9, lines 85 100) In O, Brother Where Art Thou, when Everett and his friends encounter a
baptism, his friends start following the people getting baptized, whereas Everett abstains. Once
baptized, Pete and Delmar are temporarily distracted from their journey for the treasure until Everett

The Influence Of The Nuremberg Trial On International...
For the victorious parties of war to determine the process of justice makes a significant assumption
that those parties will attempt to apply an extension of the just war theory to include jus post bellum in
that they will endeavor for a just and lasting peace. This assumption is problematic for three reasons.
First, nothing guarantees that as a belligerent concludes acts of war that it has any intention
whatsoever of establishing peace. Second, the victor enjoys the privilege of deciding what constitutes
genocide or mass violence. Finally, the possibility always exists of atrocities committed by the victor.
Ultimately, in the Nuremberg Trial, the victor retained the prerogative to determine that the wrongs
performed by the Nazis were so calculated, so malignant and so devastating, that civilization cannot
tolerate their being ignored because it cannot survive their being repeated. (Jackson, Opening Address
for the United States) In this example, four victorious nations controlled the responsibility to
determine the requirement for a trial, negotiate the employment of the appropriate system of law,
determining the definition of criminal entities, and defining international law and that of a sovereign
nation (Rosen, ed., The Influence of the Nuremberg Trial on International Criminal Law ).

Printing Organs And The Human Body
Printing organs has been talked about and attempted to be used for close to 40 years. Printing organs
can help with advancements in many ways because it could help many of the people that are on the
Organ Transplanting List, not to mention it could save countless lives as well. If organs are able to be
printed and executed for procedures and transplants, then we could reduce hospital bills that increase
during the time that you are waiting for an organ. Therefore, making a large advancement in the
healthcare field. Organ printing can be very difficult and must be executed very carefully considering
that the body may reject the new organ. Three dimensional (3D) printing is a manufacturing method in
which objects are made by fusing or depositing materials such as plastic, metal, ceramics, powders,
liquids, or even living cells in layers to produce a 3D object (Ventola, October 2014). It is incredible to
see how such materials can be used to be put together to make a living organism that can be used in a
human s body. As a person ages this could be very useful because organs tend to fail and become weak
when a person gets older they could potentially be used to replace the failing organs. There are many
different types of 3D printing and they do all come with some positives but at the same time they
come with some negatives as well. There is selective laser printing, an SLS printer uses powdered
material as the substrate for printing new objects. A laser draws the shape of

Postmodern Noir Vs Cyber-Noir Postmodern noir and Cyber noir Across all noir periods there exists a unifying set of traits that link them all together and at the core of that set is the desire to destabilize and unsettle the audience while also portraying a world in which light and dark are in constant battle. As the 21st century furthers technological advancements in the film industry the boundaries of what can be noir become even more blurred, giving way to what many scholars call the post modern neo noir, or postmodern noir era. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Art Theft Research Paper The Nazis hid, destroyed and plundered thousands of pieces of art and literature; the number is so high that experts cannot accurately estimate the amount of art stolen. The art theft, instigated by the Nazis under Hitler s order, began six years before the second World War had even started ( Documents Region, City, and Countryside 1). In response to the growing number of artwork being stolen and destroyed, special commissions were formed to protect the art. The Nazis plundering and destroying art was beneficial in the way that it united countless people from all over the world against the destruction of the priceless art, which led to the creation of international art protection programs and gained funding and support from the public and the government. Adolf Hitler, before he began the notorious German regime in 1919, had aspirations to be an artist. He applied to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in 1907; his aspirations to become an artist did not become a reality as his application to the art school was rejected. This motivated his hatred towards degenerate art, a type of art that was described as modern; Hitler was known to describe it as Jewish or communist in nature. Hitler pushed the classical art ideal, in which the only type of art allowed to be showcased in museums were classical pieces from artists such as Phidias and Picasso (Campbell 1). However, since Christ has come to earth and made known His rightful position, only those who chose to submit to Him will be obedient (John 15:1 8). Yet, when He returns for the final time in His glory, at that point, all will display humble obedience towards Him (Dan 7:27).13 Verse 11 The context of verse eleven discloses the fact that there will be great financial prosperity and abundance during the reign of the Messiah. To the Prince, Machiavelli directed that everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are (The Prince, Chapter XVIII). Behind the mask and façade, the Prince must do whatever is necessary to remain in power and benefit oneself, even if that means doing something morally wrong. Creating a façade for the public eye and deceiving one s citizens, to Socrates, would be considered immoral as it does not promote the common good, but helps hide the Prince advancing his individual ideologies. Morality is the philosophical distinction between what is right and what is wrong. In terms of leadership, Socrates believes that leaders should use morality to make the right decisions regardless of the outcome, as the moral decision will always benefit a society as opposed to risking a wrong choice. Socrates idea of morality and doing what is morally correct despite the outcome is absolutely opposite to a façade of benevolence. Scott Fitzgerald is a flashback, it is crucial to recognize the relevance between this passage and the plot of the book. Looking closer at the passage, it is apparent that Fitzgerald uses characterization and theme to relate this section back to the plot. The characterization of Gatsby and Daisy eliminates any question of what occurred between them in their somewhat scandalous past, while exciting the theme simultaneously. Although many themes are portrayed throughout the novel, the most prominent is the concept of living in the past. There is nothing wrong with remembering the good times, but living in the past leads to tragedy. In The Great Gatsby, characters pursue future visions that are determined by their pasts. Gatsby suffers from past memories of Daisy and tries to relive the relationship and in the process, Gatsby was murdered. • 10. The Characteristics Of Forensic Anthropology Introduction and background: Forensic anthropology is a multi disciplinary industry where understanding biological anthropology and knowledge of human osteology is needed to assist in positively identifying an individual, (Quinney et al., 2009). The purpose of forensic anthropology is to aid in the identification process of human skeletal material by means of establishing a biological profile. A biological profile is formed by the following fundamental characteristics: age, ancestry, stature and sex. Sex determination is essential in the identification process of human remains, as the number of potential matches is halved, (Loth and Iscan, 2000) as cited by Bidmos et al., 2010. Other characteristics, such as age, are dependent on knowing the sex of the individual, (Bidmos et al., 2010). Therefore, sexual dimorphism, which is the differences between males and females due to intrinsic factors (hormones) and extrinsic factors (the environment), provides variation between male and female skeletal material. These differences allow for easier reconstruction of a biological profile. The pelvis is a good indicator of sex as it has a high degree of reliability, (Phenice, 1969). However, it ... A centrifugal pump converts primer mover s energy into kinetic energy and subsequently this kinetic energy is changed into pressure energy from the fluid being pumped. It offers an impeller having a central eye by which the fluid makes its way into the pump. Our prime speed impeller speeds up the fluid radially outward in the pump chasing after. • 29. The Fall Of The City Of Jerusalem Triston Janise 2 8 15 Coach Wade World history The fall of Jerusalem. There are many reasons for the fall of the city of Jerusalem. Some of those reasons being that the defenders of the city were completely out numbered by Saladin s army, the weakness of the city s walls, a long siege by Saladin s army, and the collapse of the Kingdom of Jerusalem itself. When Saladin s army approached the city of Jerusalem the defenders of the city was starchily out numbered. The cause of this was the fact that in a previous battle now known as the battle of Hattin the Jerusalem force of 16200 men were completely decimated by Saladin s force of 42000 men. The reason for this great defeat at the hands of Saladin s army was poor leadership. The new king of Jerusalem Guy was bent on attacking Saladin s army as soon as possible. This caused the new king to leave the city of Jerusalem with most of its defenders. After he left the city is where he made his biggest military blunder. He made camp with his army at the first watering hole outside of Jerusalem. Guy and his army however did not stay long. They soon moved out in search of Saladin s army this was his fatal mistake. Instead of staying at his original camp where he and his army had a good supply of water he made a brash decision and decided to march his army in the pursuit of Saladin s army. Many students see their counselor, to work on any emotional stressors, academic changes and challenges. This may include, interventions, group therapy and changes in class schedule, but sometimes with all the implementations given, students do not succeed in school. Perhaps one needs to take a closer look at the programs being implemented and its success rate. In addition, a counselor should guide itself using the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) to provide evidence based practices in schools. According to Carey and Dimmitt, it is essential for counselors to use evidence based practice to make sure they are able to ensure and improve student outcomes (2008). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I find it this more reasonable and effective for a counselor to do. A research based program has done all the work of creating a variable (experimental group) and a control group to show if a program s effectiveness. This means the counselor can see the results of the experimental group and see if this would work for the group intended. As mentioned by Carey and Dimmitt, research based interventions ensure that the school s resources are invested wisely. This means, the counselor can rely on the program and be able to predict positive outcomes. Another method for a counselor to use science in their practice is to make sure the intervention or program used has strong research support. While many may not hold strong support to be shown to be effective, a counselor must evaluate its effectiveness for the students. I find this part of science more difficult for counselors to implement due to time constraints and resources. While there may be many programs out there, not all may be ideal for all schools. The counselor can experiment and see if works well for the intended students or perhaps continue to find more research to back up the program. Often times, this leads to counselors developing their own programs or curriculum but their outcomes be unknown and not as valid as solid research based programs. Therefore, if the ... The young, brash Telemachus nearly cried out, giving her presence away to others in the house of Odysseus, but Odysseus stopped him, saying, Be still: keep still about it: just remember it. The gods who rule Olympus make this light (Odyssey 354). Here, Odysseus quick, yet tactful reply to Telemachus perhaps saved the day, and Telemachus, because he didn t feel ashamed at his father s response to his foolishness, maintained his bravery and focused upon the task at hand. Indeed, while the first two examples of epithets seem similar in their descriptive purposes, the last epithet, Odysseus Laertiades, is different in that it is a patronymic epithet. In other words, Laertiades indicates the identity of Odysseus father, Laertes. This epithet seems to be used most when Odysseus is addressed formally by another character. One reason for this use might be to qualify Odysseus for respect; although Odysseus is a king himself, he is also the son of another king, Laertes. His pedigree demanded respect, and when he is addressed by this name, it is usually when being approached by others of similar rank and/or status. One such instance occurred in The Iliad when Odysseus and Ajax were sent to persuade Achilles to join the war. After Odysseus voiced the Achaeans wishes, Achilles, who was of an ... Literary Analysis Of Revelation By Flannery OConnor Revelation Among many diseases, judgment is an epidemic virus within the human mind; more dangerously with the lack of discernment can create a toxic atmosphere and such intoxication is highlighted within the short story, Revelation, by Flannery O Connor. The story is set in the south, and revolves around an irrational yet religious character, name Mrs. Turpin, who overlooks her own flaws to cast judgments on others. The author uses language, irony, and archetypes within the story to present that judgement is a form of unconscious self deception that causes hypocritical behavior and ultimately self agitation. The author demonstrates this by having the characters cast judgment upon each other, which makes the act of passing judgment on to others an infectious disease fed by society. The usage of informal language in the beginning of the story, produces transparent characters by exposing their flaws through their speech. For the victorious parties of war to determine the process of justice makes a significant assumption that those parties will attempt to apply an extension of the just war theory to include jus post bellum in that they will endeavor for a just and lasting peace.
