Summary Of Virginia WoolfA Room Of One s Own
The creativity and ideas of women have been stifled and ignored since the beginning of time. Seen as
the weaker, less intelligent sex women were not believed to be able to create important works,
especially those of literary importance. In A Room of One s Own by Virginia Woolf, the author
expresses a simple idea that women need at least a room of their own to produce the work that they
have been told they are unable to. Through stories of her thought process to reach this conclusion,
Virginia Woolf concludes the idea that people should think of things in themselves (39) and in doing
so presents a challenge to both sexes to understand what she argues are the causes and problems
stemming from lack of economic freedom for women and social paradigms that hinder the act of truly
thinking independently. Woolf s concept of free thinking stems from her questioning of the instincts of
men and their ability to do whatever they want to further themselves and have their own opinions and
possessions, and while she feels bad for them at first she realizes the freedom they have. Her idea of
free thinking grows from her new found economic independence given to her by her aunt. Before
receiving her inheritance Woolf could be found doing odd jobs around town that she does not describe
in any detail the hardness of the work, for you know perhaps women who have done it; nor the
difficulty of living on the money when it was earned, for you may have tried (37). It s interesting that

Analysis Of The Play Antigone
In the reading Siddartha, the protagonist, Siddartha, is a man who comes to the realization that he is
lacking in life and that the materialistic treasures of the world, such as power, wealth, and sex, do not
satisfy him anymore. He then embarks on a long journey to fill the void inside of him and search for
the enlightenment that he craves. Before he experiences his awakening, he faces many obstacles and
fights many battles between his internal values and the values of the world. Likewise, the play
Antigone is the story of a tragic hero who defies the rules of her society in order to do what she feels
is morally just. She is eventually charged with treason and sentenced to death by the society because
of her act of heroism. It is made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It had to be found, the pristine source in one s own self, it had to be possessed! Everything else was
searching, was a detour, was getting lost (Hesse 5). These thoughts that were running through
Siddartha s mind clearly demonstrates how much he disagrees with his family s ways. The sheer
thought of Siddartha following in his father s footsteps brings him immense dissatisfaction. Even
though his father is a noble and good man, Siddartha believes that his father lacks what he is
ultimately searching for, enlightenment.
Siddhartha experiences multiple instances of conflict between his search for truth and traditional
social structure and addresses it by seeking out new experiences. This is displayed when Siddartha is
leaving the Brahmins and says, But there is one thing that the so clear, so vulnerable Teaching does
not contain: it does not contain the secret of what the Sublime One himself has experienced, he alone
among the hundreds of thousands. That is what I thought and realized when I heard the Teaching. That
is why I am resuming my wandering not to seek a different, a better teaching, for I know that there is
none; but to leave all teachings and all teachers and to reach my goal alone or die (Hesse 32). Here,
Siddartha is explaining that his method of achieving enlightenment is different from the standards of
his people. The Brahmins maintain the culture and method of having a teacher who is

Khe Sanh Australian Poem Analysis
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am here to bring forth some poems that represent our beautiful country
for the Australian day anthology. Australians identity is a wonderful thing with our mate ship and way
of life respected throughout the world. Our acknowledgement of our past makes us the country we are
and creates the country we have, with the pride shared between all who happily call Australia there
home. These poems explore our country s pride through times of hardship, this being the Vietnam war.
And how our strong mate ship and pride helped us prevail through this time. These are very clear
throughout the poems becoming clear staple pieces for this era.
The first poem is the song, Khe Sanh by Cold Chisel written in 1978 and based upon the post stress of
the Vietnam war, created on everyone involved. It expresses how life was for the war veterans after
this dreadful war they just endured, showing the struggle fitting back into a normal society. It explores
the journey of a VET combating this stress. They try to suppress it but no matter how hard they try to
this doesn t work. So, they go looking to discover the real meaning behind it all.
And I ve travelled round the world from year to year And each one found me aimless, one more year
the more for wear

Like many others soldiers the song writer Lachlan Irvine suffered PTSD being a major reason for
writing these poems so people understand what he went through. The meaning of this poem is set
upon how bad Vietnam war was like and more focusing on the lesser known parts that happened. The
rhetorical questions throughout this poem created great emotional affect upon the audience making
them think hard about all these different events. The language used with these questioned is very
strong to create lasting effects being extremely upfront one used to

School Desegregation
Throughout the history of America issues around race have brought great debate and augments. Being
a nation birth from ideals of freedom and undeniable human rights America has failed in being truthful
to its founding. The treatment of African American is an atrocity that stains the history of our nation s
past. Steps have been made to heal the injustice, but they are just steps. In this essay, I will be
discussing school desegregation focusing on the landmark and controversial Supreme Court case of
Brown v. Board of Education and the effect is had on the nation and even the world. Many people
ignore the fact school segregation has not been fixed. The Supreme Court case of Brown v. Board of

against the State of Minnesota because of the injustice and segregation of school. It accused the State
of Minnesota has allowed the schools of Minneapolis and St. Paul to become hyper segregated and
with this hyper segregation unequal opportunities in the classroom. The plaintiffs in the civil action
lawsuit Alejandro Cruz Guzman, et. al. v. State of Minnesota et. al. are the parents and children in the
Minneapolis Public Schools and St. Paul Public Schools. In the civil action suit, the defendants were
the State of Minnesota and many head government officials in the Minnesota Department of
Education and other elected officials. The main claims of the plaintiffs were that the segregated and
unequal schools break the Education Clause of the constitution of Minnesota which required the state
to give all students equal public education. Along with breaking the Constitution of Minnesota, the
segregated schools of Minneapolis and St. Paul violate the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which states
it is unlawful to discriminate education on base of race and socioeconomic standing. The inaction of
the State of Minnesota is a violation of the rights of the children of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Segregation in the Twin Cites and the surrounding suburbs is undeniable and is unfair to the victims of

Lexical And Axical Analysis Of Interpreter Of Maladies
Interpreter of Maladies is a collection of nine short stories. The stories are about the Indians, caught
between the culture they have inherited and the one, they have to adapt. All the stories almost remain
the same in themes yet ideas differ in their perspectives. They present Indian immigrant people in
different and variant roles and situations. Being herself the child of immigrant parents, living in the
United States, Lahiri s characters are also portraiture of such people, torn between two different
national identities.
All the works of Lahiri have been appraised through many doctoral thesis, dissertations and research

Uganda is located in the center of Africa, having a population of 25 million people. The official

population is Christians, split about evenly between Roman Catholics and
Anglicans, with a large number of Muslims and other various animistic religions. Some cultural

new ones. (Daniel Radenbaugh, pg. 74) Geocentrism requires companies to balance informed
knowledge of their own organizational cultures with home and host. I would say that
Green is ethnocentric and Martin is polycentric. Green is ethnocentric due to the fact that he knows his
company is driven by the philosophy and values of founder and current CEO,
Lawrence Lovell. He is a devoted Christian and believes strongly that business activities should
embody Christian values. Green is concerned that Martins lifestyle is inconsistent with HG s culture.
He is also concerned that even though Martin s ways are normal and legal in Uganda, they are not the
practices of the U.S. based company and are considered unethical.. Green is also concerned with the
impact of Martin s handing out of tips will become public knowledge in the International World and
possibly the hiring of close relatives to the government could cause more extortion. Martin is
polycentric due to he has always been fascinated with Africa and its culture and studied this country in
college. Martin believes in not drawing attention to oneself and has learned to respect their culture. He
has always shown interest in working in Africa when he was hired and even when HG

Relationship Between Natural Environment And Human Exchange
The relationship between the natural environment and human exchange is one that has been an
ongoing battle of overconsumption and a regulation on natural goods. Human interaction during the
Industrial Revolution spanning from the nineteenth and twentieth century has several contrasting
principles. In the nineteenth century, the excuse of overconsumption was for industrial economic
profit. Humans believed that over using natural resource was acceptable due to the belief that natural
resources were God s gift to man, and God would replenish the natural goods. However, the overuse
of natural goods results in smog, pollution, and water contamination which has various damaging
health effects. In the 20th century, humans were more than aware of the effects that over consumption
produced, but neglected the environment for their own social status and profit. Nevertheless, during
the end of the 20th century, scientific evidence led to widespread awareness of the effects occurring to
the environment, prompting people to make policies to change and protect the environment. This
caused humans to create a relationship with the government and restrict overconsumption. Ultimately,
the first Industrial Revolution during the 19th century, the overuse of technology wasn t perceived as
harmful to the environment. However, in the second Industrial Revolution during the 20th century,
over consumption had external effects that were harmful to the environment, triggering intrusion from

Who Invented The Flour Industry
What did you have for breakfast this morning? Was it cereal or toast these items and many more
contain flour. Without the help of the flour industry you probably wouldn t of been able to eat those
items. The flour industry has been around for many years. It s a big part of history and still plays a
very important role. The flour industry started at least two hundred years ago. The flour industry is
still very important today.
The start of the flour industry was very small. However the reason the flour industry was very small
was that it was just the beginning of it, and many people did not know how profitable it would be.
Another reason it was so small was that many people did not know if it was going to be a waste of
money, because it was very expensive to pay for everything. In order to make this a successful
industry the flour industry would need many employees such as farmers, railroad workers, machinists
who tended to the large machines, barrel makers, packers who caught flour after it was poured off of
the assembly line. Without enough farmers selling wheat to the flour companies or them having
farmers that worked there they didn t have as much wheat to make the flour. Which meant for the flour
companies less flour was able to be made. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theme Of Communication In Michael Ondaatje s In The Skin...
In Michael Ondaatje s novel, In the Skin of a Lion, there is a severe shift in tone, character morality,
and emotion when comparing the beginning to the end. After completing the novel and working to
make sense of it, I began to question what the source of all this change was and the reasoning behind
it. Through analysis, I came to the conclusion that many of the prominent characters featured in this
novel are unable to engage in what is called competent communication. To be a competent
communicator, an individual must adapt to different social settings in order for their intended message
to be both appropriate and effective for their intended audience. In Ondaatje s novel, however, most
characters lack this skill, seeing things only from their point of view, failing to ever consider others
perspectives. This results in several conflicts being left without a solution and creates a cause and
effect chain of events leading to chaos. In addition to communication incompetence, I found there to
be various other barriers in communication that include, physical, linguistic, and psychological.
Throughout this paper I will be explaining and providing evidence for why these various
communication barriers are responsible for the eventual character breakdown and excessive entropic
nature in In the Skin of a Lion. Physical barriers are those that communicate to others outside of a
certain group to stay out. Some of these barriers are obvious such as barricades, territories, doors,

Joseph Smith And Mistreatment In Society
Many times, in the scriptures good men were subject to mistreatment for following the words of God.
Examples of this may include John the Baptist getting decapitated, Peter getting hung on the cross
upside down, and the savior being crucified. Today that mistreatment hasn t gone away. Although
Mormons might not be mistreated in such harsh scenarios, there are most certainly times at which you
will be persecuted since others don t understand the fundamental beliefs of the church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints. Due to misrepresentation, members are often subjected to ongoing segregation
from society. This can be seen in how the prophet Joseph Smith was harassed, in the events that have
taken place in my life, and continued misinformation about Mormons in the world today through the
media. These accounts make it difficult for Mormons to feel accepted into society. To you I would
suggest that you will respond with love and continue to follow the teachings of Christ. I would also
suggest that you look at the instances of Joseph, myself, and the church and follow these examples.
Through this hopefully you shall inspire others to accept you. In these harsh and difficult times, I
would urge all my brethren to reflect on Joseph smith and his words and actions that he displayed in
his severe persecutions. Joseph perhaps is one of the greatest examples that you, my brethren can
follow. During his life the prophet Joseph smith endured many hardships and trials. These included

The Viability of Nuclear Energy Essay
The world as we know today is dependent on energy. The options we have currently enable us to
produce energy economically but at a cost to the environment. As fossil fuel source will be
diminishing over time, other alternatives will be needed. An alternative that is presently utilized is
nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is currently the most efficacious energy source. Every time the word
nuclear is mentioned, the first thought that people have is the devastating effects of nuclear energy.
Granting it does come with its drawbacks; this form of energy emits far less pollution than
conventional power plants. Even though certain disadvantages of nuclear energy are devastating, the
advantages contain even greater rewards.

As a result, numerous countries are creating more nuclear power plants. From the 1990s, the rate of
nuclear power plants constructed increased because of technological and managerial, deregulation,
and safety improvements.
As each year passes, more and more electricity will be made as a result of increased nuclear power
plants around the world. The economic benefits of nuclear energy are equally advantageous as the
environmental aspects.
A competitive, safe and environmentally sustainable energy source can be established anywhere on
earth. Essential, all that is needed to create a nuclear power plant is a water source to cool down the
reactor and uranium. Uranium can be found virtually in every country on earth. Even though it might
be harder for certain countries to obtain uranium, there would be no problem in finding it around the
world. Figure 2. This image illustrates where major reserves of uranium are found on earth.

power stations are safe. The various barriers and numerous safety measures make it very unlikely for
catastrophes to transpire. The most up to date plants have a reactor core failure 1 in 1 million years.

Krugman s The Death Of Horatio Alger
Everyone s happiness is different, however in America, each person s difficulty to accomplish it varies
as well. Since its creation, the United States promised to be the land of equal opportunity and granted
the people their basic human rights. The right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness cannot be
taken away from anyone in America. However, pursuit of happiness is one thing, achieving it, is
another. For many, the American Dream is something that must require many sacrifices, and maybe it
will become achievable. For few, they were born in the American Dream, if they choose to grow on it,
it would require little effort. Today, success has a sort of favoritism when it comes to what class a
citizen may be. Success favors those with a wealthy background, because of the whispered caste
system of America.
In Krugman s The Death of Horatio Alger , the author validates the suspicion of the U.S becoming a

A Psychoanalytic Interpretation of Rapunzel Essay
A Psychoanalytic Interpretation of Rapunzel
The familiar story of Rapunzel, as told by the brothers Jacob Ludwig Carl and Wilhelm Carl Grimm,
takes on new meaning with a psychoanalytic interpretation. It is a complex tale about desire,
achievement, and loss. The trio of husband, wife, and witch function as the ego, id, and superego
respectively to govern behavior regarding a beautiful object of desire, especially when a prince
discovers this object.
The story begins in a rural house where a man and woman live without children, near a walled garden
tended by a frightening witch. The first line of the story tells us that they yearn for a child. It is clear
that there exists in this house an almost tangible feeling of desire ... Show more content on

If the unconscious mind is obscure and dark, and the conscious mind is clear and sunny, then dusk is
where the two blend briefly. This tendency to act at dusk further confirms the idea that this man
represents the ego, which is the reconciliation of both id and superego. He too is nameless.
When the witch who owns the garden discovers the trespass, she brings down a harsh verdict. If the
woman must continue to have the rampion, then the witch will receive their child. The witch
represents laws and social constraints, corresponding to the repressive superego. The husband must
again play referee and weigh his wife s desires and the witch s rules. He is not strong enough to
overpower the id element of his household. He hastily agrees to the deal, and the witch transforms the
desirable root from her garden into a child.
The girl who results from this ordeal takes a new form as the popular object of desire, but little has

Africa Has Had Some Atrocities Occur In Its History. One
Africa has had some atrocities occur in its history. One of those was the tyranny of King Leopold. In
order to gain control of Congo King Leopold would use violent force and control economic
monopolies. His violence was fairly unknown by the rest of the world until some missionaries and
other Europeans came into Africa and witnessed the horrors. The missionaries would go on to write
about what they experienced and spread the word to inform society of what is occurring. Most of the
violence done by King Leopold was coming from the hands of his military called the Force Publique.

his religion in order to cover up what he was doing. One missionary that was different from the other
was William Sheppard. Instead of forcing his religion on people he got to know and understand the
way of life of the people in Africa. He first stumbled upon a Kuba tribe. They at first were hostile
towards him and were even going to behead him but later they decided that their ancestor s spirits
were living through him. This tribe was deep in the Congo forests and were protected from most of the
other tribes and the Congo government. Even though the tribe didn t accept Christianity, Sheppard still

missionaries at the time, was trying to add relief for captives and other distressed people. William
Sheppard was different from other missionaries however because he was African American. He had a
white supervisor who he was friends with. His inspiration for going to Congo was because of a
movement for slaves in America to go back to Africa. He stayed in Africa for quite some time though

Don s football playing abilities. Although both characters participate in different activities, they are
both expected by their parents to do things in the same manner. The story The Rules of the Game

Vacation About Vacation
Have you ever been to Nevada, or Utah? I ve been and you won t believe what I did! We went to Las
Vegas, Zion Canyon National Park. Then we went to Bryce Canyon, then we went back to Las Vegas
for the last three days that would soon end our vacation. Sunday was my parent s anniversary and they
decided to go on a vacation. Monday mom and I drove up to Kansas City to meet Matt and eat lunch.
Tuesday, we had to wake up at 3:30 to get ready and board the Spirit Airline. The flight was 2 hours
and 41 minutes. During the flight, we saw mountains, valleys, and lakes. When we arrived in Las
Vegas, we went to spend our day at Red Rock Canyon. We went to the visitor center, read about
scorpions, mice, and tarantulas. Then we went outside to learn about the Canyon and met a tortoise
named Louise. We walked several trails, the Ice Box Trail, Red Rock Wash Overlook. We took several
more trails that were easy or moderate.
We drove to Zion Canyon to spend a couple of days there. On our way, we went through a tunnel, that
went into a mountain. It was amazing, every minute or so there would be a little window in the rock,
where the light came in the tunnel. We took pictures of the sunrise on the rocks. We stayed at the
Quality Inn Montclair Hotel. The Springdale shuttles took us to the visitor center, where we waited to
board the Park shuttle buses. We stopped at stop number nine, Temple of Sinawava, and walked the
Riverside Walk, which was paved and ended where the Narrows began.

Wild Fell Rowe Analysis
Michael Rowe s Wild Fell is the perplexed delivery of a horror story based on the uncanny perspective
of Jameson Browning. Where Jameson s viewpoint of reality is called to question, as well as the
concept of the monstrous that is presented throughout the novel. In which I will argue how Rowe s
ghost story can be considered a psychological horror story, due to the perspective of the narrating
character. For Amanda Blackmore as the monstrous serves as the trope of ambiguous horror due to her
omnipresent behaviour throughout the novel. As well as how the demotic voice is used considerably in
the novel, using that notion as way to perceive Amanda as the ambiguous entity that resides in the
mind of Jameson. Whereas the ambiguity used is a means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In which Rowe s concept of the monstrous doesn t need to be a physical creature that is unexplainable.
Rather, this paper will approach Rowe s monster with the lens that Amanda is the trope of the
ambiguous terror residing in the human mind. Once Rosa Blackmore s origin story is grasped by the
protagonist Jameson, he obtains a demotic understanding of who the Blackmore s were, and the sins
of their past; specifically the Father. In discovering his act in violating his daughter s virtue, which is a
parallel reflection in her approach as the monster, in violating the lives and minds of others. Rowe
presents Rosa in an ambiguous manner when perceived by the point of view characters in the story,
which serves as the figurative mode in amplifying the magnitude of terror. To ascribe Amanda as a
ghastly monster would be correct due to her illusive behaviour in revealing herself from afar, and the
difficulty to perceive her/it. Jameson denies the possibility of the supernatural phenomena through the
constant reliance of an internal demotic voice. Through reasoning, he s rationalizes the situation
claiming he s only seeing things, when plausibly he s not. This voice of reason generates an Ironic
concept when aligned with the mode of

Essay about Wal-Mart
The founder of the Wal Mart chain, Sam Walton was born in March 1918 in the town of Kingfisher,
Oklahoma. Graduating from the University of Missouri, Sam enlisted in the Army for the World War
II effort. Upon his return, Sam worked for a while at the J.C. Penney group of stores. He began to
realize that opportunities existed in the large scale discount retailing business (nickel and dime stores).
The idea and business philosophy of Wal Mart borrowed from the nickel and dime stores of earlier
times, and consisted of getting National Brands in bulk at a discount based on volume purchases; the
company would then stamp its mark and resell the goods at a slight markup, this rate being however
less than the other competing Mom and Pop stores ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet in the sphere of business, he was a radical trend setter. Choosing to be innovative and aggressive,
the founder of Wal Mart took the large scale discount retailing business to new heights and down new
avenues. Sam borrowed a lot of ideas for his early stores from Kmart and others. But it was what he
chose to do differently – the ways he put his own stamp on the basic business model – that made Wal
Mart so fabulously successful. His model was the same as Kmart s, but his strategy was unique. From
the very beginning, Walton chose to serve a different group of customers. At that time, the 10 largest
discounters (in 1962) focused on large metropolitan areas and cities like New York. Wal Mart s key
strategy was to put good size stores into little one horse towns which everybody else was ignoring. He
sought out isolated rural towns with populations between 5,000 25,000, and correctly bet that if his
stores could match or beat the city prices, people would shop at home. Since Wal Mart s markets
tended to be too small to support more than one large retailer, eventually the small local competitors
went out of business, making the whole area Wal Mart territory. Wal Mart also took a different
approach to merchandising and pricing than its competitors. While competitors relied heavily on
private label goods, second tier brands and price promotions, Wal Mart promised National Brands at
everyday low prices. The company pursued efficiency and

Physical Therapy For The Rehabilitation Process
Physical Therapy
Definition of Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is the treatment of deformity, injury, or disease by healthcare professionals, physical
therapists, through hands on methods such as massage, exercise, or heat treatment so that drugs or
surgery may not be needed. In physical therapy sessions therapists work with patients to help them
improve their movement so that they are able to manage their pain. Physical therapy is an active
profession with a scientific base that helps patients to restore and to maintain optimal physical
function. Physical therapists take an active role in the rehabilitation process, in prevention and health
maintenance programs, and in fitness and wellness programs (PT Careers, 2015). Their services ...

Patient examination in physical therapy includes measures such as strength, flexibility, range of
motion, motor function, and quality of life. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses
clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the
patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each
patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the
therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015).
Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and
hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist
evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when
needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other
healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another
important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform
certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau,
2015).
Facilities and Working Conditions
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Physical therapists held about 210,900 jobs in 2014,
and offices of physical and occupational therapists employed 34% of those physical therapists.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Personal Report
Having a good understanding of your professional strengths and weaknesses is imperative to having a
successful career. It is also important to know what types of positions and projects would allow you to
utilize those strengths to benefit your career. Taking the GLEAM.org Network Assessment and
Motivational Style Assessment were very helpful in identifying some of those strengths and weakness
in my professional environment. The Network assessment was especially interesting because it was
such a unique type of assessment. Both the size and density of my network was defined as medium,
which was a little bit surprising to me. Since over half of my network contacts listed are coworkers, I
was expecting the density and size to be small. While the size and density of my network were
average, my report indicates that I have weaker ties than the average respondent. My Personal
Network report identifies a benefit of this being that I could potentially have access to a much broader
range of information. The report also identifies the disadvantage of this being that those weaker
relationships would be unable to provide a higher level of support if needed. The insight that this
report provided me will be very helpful when thinking about completion of the Master of Accounting
(MAcc) program and my career over the next five years. Identifying and fostering a healthy network
(of both MAcc students and accounting professionals) is crucial during a program as rigorous as the
MAcc program.

While there are many facets to international taxation, recent research has looked to the use of OFC s
as a conduit for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), likely in response to the increasing cross border
flow of FDI. This paper steps away from the moral and political rhetoric surrounding this debate, and
looks to the economic effects of OFC s on the parties involved. More particularly, this paper begins by
briefly discussing why low tax jurisdictions and multi national corporations engage in this behavior.
After demonstrating the generally positive benefits of outward FDI, this paper analyzes the
contentious effects of using OFC s as a conduit for outward FDI. In lieu of a weak patriotic cheer, this
paper focuses primarily on the benefits that OFC s may hold for Canada. I conclude that the
reasonable use of transparent OFC s increases the competitiveness of Canadian corporations, leading
to more Canadian jobs, capital creation and domestic tax revenue. Furthermore, increased dialogue
with OFC s can result in legal, social and financial innovations in Canada. Lastly, this increased
dialogue would be an ideal role for the federal government, as described during our class discussions.
In light of this conclusion, I advocate for increased dialogue between Canada and OFC s.

In Workplace Change: Managing Workplace Change, Becker, Tennessen, and Dahl state that some
implications to organizational change are:
addressing concerns about job security and the workplace, increasing change acceptance, identifying
the benefits of the change and create incentives for acceptance, perceive management commitment for
satisfaction and commitment to the new workplace strategy, broadcast information through interactive
dialogue, explain broad goals, and discuss personal implications (1997).
These implications can result in both positive and negative effects within an organization depending
on the way change is handled in an organization. Becker et al, also state that the most common

Infant Eye Development Book Report
Growing up we use our key senses to understand and live in the world around us. After birth newborns
eyes are still developing and cannot make out fine details far away. Newborns vision is around 20/240,
but by 6 months their vision clears up to around 20/40. At birth infants are genetically programmed to
know who their mother is and by three months they can match voices with their gender and ethnic
groups. Along with being better to distinguish voices, newborns sense of colors also enhances with
age. Perceptual vision is very important for infant eye development. This is necessary because without
this ability they would see an object at a different distance or in a different orientation, they would

A University Of A Campus Statue Essay
Every day millions of people in the world are making an impact and difference that should be
recognized and honored. To continue, this is the reason why there are so many statues in the world,
including in art museums, in libraries, and even on the campuses of colleges, to show forth the honor

statue represents a symbolism to an individual who has made an impact on the grounds of a college
campus that will be remembered for a life time. In this case, Columbus State University located in
Columbus, Georgia, should have a campus statue in honor of a person who brought so much life on
the premises of this college that can impact every life that steps foot here. However, there is a
possibility of four people who can represent this statue: Callie McGinnis, Robert Arnold, Walter

Zebra Mussels Vs Environment
The environment is full of invasive species, some more invasive than others, but this is about zebra
mussels and garlic mustard. Zebra mussels are small clams that attach to solid surfaces in water. They
have D shaped shells, yellow and brownish colored stripes. They are native to Eastern Europe and
Western Russia and were brought over to the Great Lakes from ships in 1988. Garlic Mustard begins
as a kidney shaped garlic smelling leaves in the first year. The second year plants grow a stem up to 4
feet tall with triangular barbed leaves and small white four petaled flowers in clusters at the top of the
stem. It is invading our lawns, woodlands and other areas and poses a severe threat to native
plants. The first recorded observation of garlic mustard in the United States was on Long Island, New

One popular idea is that small cloud particles have a positive charge, and then the other larger particles
are negatively charged. The particles separate, and the upper part of the cloud becomes positively
charged, while the lower part becomes negatively charged. The positive and negative charges attract
each other and the charges will grow strong enough to overcome the air s resistance to electrical flow.
Then the charges race toward each other, they connect, and create an electrical circuit. Then it
discharges the accumulated electricity as lightning. Lightning will most likely occur in the summer
time during a thunderstorm. As the lightning strikes, it travels downward toward the ground. Lightning
is measured by how much electricity a bolt of lightning will contain. What you should do during a
lightning storm is try to stay indoors. Be sure to avoid water. Stay on low ground, and avoid being in
the open. Also, if you have any trees that touch your house, cut them because if the tree were to be

From September 29, 2007 to October 4, 2007 the country of Myanmar shut off all internet connections
to the outside world following a harsh government reaction to protest were 200 protestors were killed
(Subramanian, 2011). In January 2011 Egypt disconnected all internet traffic into and out of the
country in response to anti government protest (Subramanian, 2011).
In the western democratic regions internet censorship is not as heavy as in the east and muslim nations
(Greengard, 2010). However, research shows that France, Poland, and Germany have all turned to
internet censorship to ban sites that have support Nazi causes (Greengard, 2010). In 1996 and 1998 the
United States passed laws, Communications Decency Act and Child Online Protection Act to make
way for internet censorship (Subramanian, 2011). The United State Supreme Court overturned both
laws as being unconstitutional (Subramanian, 2011). Financial pressure was used in the Wikileaks

The A 40 Year Old Woman Presents With Fatigue
A 40 year old woman presents with fatigue. She has felt very run down for the past 3 months and has
had no interest in participating in her usual activities and sporting events. She has had sleeping
problems and low appetite. She is constantly feeling low and has frequent crying spells. Her physical
examination is normal and thyroid function is normal. She is diagnosed with major depression and is
referred for counseling and started on fluoxetine.
What is the mechanism of action of fluoxetine? Fluoxetine is an antidepressant belonging to the
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of drugs used mainly for the treatment of major
depression, obsessive compulsive, disorder, and panic disorder (Nordqvist, 2014, p. 1). SSRI work by
increasing the levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. Serotonin is a
neurotransmitter that regulates several aspects of brain function such as mood, sleep, and emotion
(Mandal, 2014, p. 1). Fluoxetine works by blocking the absorption (reuptake) of serotonin, which
helps to regulate and stabilize mood. Since uptake is an important mechanism for removing released
neurotransmitters and terminating their actions on adjacent nerves, the reduced uptake caused by
fluoxetine increased the free serotonin that stimulates nerve cells in the brain (Ogbru, 2014, p. 1).
Why is fluoxetine the drug of choice? This medication is the drug of choice for this patient since the
use in treating depression is well established.

  • 2. Summary Of Virginia WoolfA Room Of One s Own The creativity and ideas of women have been stifled and ignored since the beginning of time. Seen as the weaker, less intelligent sex women were not believed to be able to create important works, especially those of literary importance. In A Room of One s Own by Virginia Woolf, the author expresses a simple idea that women need at least a room of their own to produce the work that they have been told they are unable to. Through stories of her thought process to reach this conclusion, Virginia Woolf concludes the idea that people should think of things in themselves (39) and in doing so presents a challenge to both sexes to understand what she argues are the causes and problems stemming from lack of economic freedom for women and social paradigms that hinder the act of truly thinking independently. Woolf s concept of free thinking stems from her questioning of the instincts of men and their ability to do whatever they want to further themselves and have their own opinions and possessions, and while she feels bad for them at first she realizes the freedom they have. Her idea of free thinking grows from her new found economic independence given to her by her aunt. Before receiving her inheritance Woolf could be found doing odd jobs around town that she does not describe in any detail the hardness of the work, for you know perhaps women who have done it; nor the difficulty of living on the money when it was earned, for you may have tried (37). It s interesting that Woolf ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Play Antigone In the reading Siddartha, the protagonist, Siddartha, is a man who comes to the realization that he is lacking in life and that the materialistic treasures of the world, such as power, wealth, and sex, do not satisfy him anymore. He then embarks on a long journey to fill the void inside of him and search for the enlightenment that he craves. Before he experiences his awakening, he faces many obstacles and fights many battles between his internal values and the values of the world. Likewise, the play Antigone is the story of a tragic hero who defies the rules of her society in order to do what she feels is morally just. She is eventually charged with treason and sentenced to death by the society because of her act of heroism. It is made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It had to be found, the pristine source in one s own self, it had to be possessed! Everything else was searching, was a detour, was getting lost (Hesse 5). These thoughts that were running through Siddartha s mind clearly demonstrates how much he disagrees with his family s ways. The sheer thought of Siddartha following in his father s footsteps brings him immense dissatisfaction. Even though his father is a noble and good man, Siddartha believes that his father lacks what he is ultimately searching for, enlightenment. Siddhartha experiences multiple instances of conflict between his search for truth and traditional social structure and addresses it by seeking out new experiences. This is displayed when Siddartha is leaving the Brahmins and says, But there is one thing that the so clear, so vulnerable Teaching does not contain: it does not contain the secret of what the Sublime One himself has experienced, he alone among the hundreds of thousands. That is what I thought and realized when I heard the Teaching. That is why I am resuming my wandering not to seek a different, a better teaching, for I know that there is none; but to leave all teachings and all teachers and to reach my goal alone or die (Hesse 32). Here, Siddartha is explaining that his method of achieving enlightenment is different from the standards of his people. The Brahmins maintain the culture and method of having a teacher who is ... Australians identity is a wonderful thing with our mate ship and way of life respected throughout the world. Our acknowledgement of our past makes us the country we are and creates the country we have, with the pride shared between all who happily call Australia there home. These poems explore our country s pride through times of hardship, this being the Vietnam war. And how our strong mate ship and pride helped us prevail through this time. These are very clear throughout the poems becoming clear staple pieces for this era. The first poem is the song, Khe Sanh by Cold Chisel written in 1978 and based upon the post stress of the Vietnam war, created on everyone involved. • 10. Relationship Between Natural Environment And Human Exchange The relationship between the natural environment and human exchange is one that has been an ongoing battle of overconsumption and a regulation on natural goods. Human interaction during the Industrial Revolution spanning from the nineteenth and twentieth century has several contrasting principles. In the nineteenth century, the excuse of overconsumption was for industrial economic profit. Humans believed that over using natural resource was acceptable due to the belief that natural resources were God s gift to man, and God would replenish the natural goods. However, the overuse of natural goods results in smog, pollution, and water contamination which has various damaging health effects. In the 20th century, humans were more than aware of the effects that over consumption produced, but neglected the environment for their own social status and profit. Nevertheless, during the end of the 20th century, scientific evidence led to widespread awareness of the effects occurring to the environment, prompting people to make policies to change and protect the environment. This caused humans to create a relationship with the government and restrict overconsumption. Ultimately, the first Industrial Revolution during the 19th century, the overuse of technology wasn t perceived as harmful to the environment. However, in the second Industrial Revolution during the 20th century, over consumption had external effects that were harmful to the environment, triggering intrusion from the ... It s a big part of history and still plays a very important role. The flour industry started at least two hundred years ago. The flour industry is still very important today. The start of the flour industry was very small. However the reason the flour industry was very small was that it was just the beginning of it, and many people did not know how profitable it would be. Another reason it was so small was that many people did not know if it was going to be a waste of money, because it was very expensive to pay for everything. In order to make this a successful industry the flour industry would need many employees such as farmers, railroad workers, machinists who tended to the large machines, barrel makers, packers who caught flour after it was poured off of the assembly line. • 14. Theme Of Communication In Michael Ondaatje s In The Skin... In Michael Ondaatje s novel, In the Skin of a Lion, there is a severe shift in tone, character morality, and emotion when comparing the beginning to the end. After completing the novel and working to make sense of it, I began to question what the source of all this change was and the reasoning behind it. Through analysis, I came to the conclusion that many of the prominent characters featured in this novel are unable to engage in what is called competent communication. To be a competent communicator, an individual must adapt to different social settings in order for their intended message to be both appropriate and effective for their intended audience. In Ondaatje s novel, however, most characters lack this skill, seeing things only from their point of view, failing to ever consider others perspectives. This results in several conflicts being left without a solution and creates a cause and effect chain of events leading to chaos. In addition to communication incompetence, I found there to be various other barriers in communication that include, physical, linguistic, and psychological. Throughout this paper I will be explaining and providing evidence for why these various communication barriers are responsible for the eventual character breakdown and excessive entropic nature in In the Skin of a Lion. Physical barriers are those that communicate to others outside of a certain group to stay out. Some of these barriers are obvious such as barricades, territories, doors, ... Although Mormons might not be mistreated in such harsh scenarios, there are most certainly times at which you will be persecuted since others don t understand the fundamental beliefs of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wal Mart s key strategy was to put good size stores into little one horse towns which everybody else was ignoring. He sought out isolated rural towns with populations between 5,000 25,000, and correctly bet that if his stores could match or beat the city prices, people would shop at home. Since Wal Mart s markets tended to be too small to support more than one large retailer, eventually the small local competitors went out of business, making the whole area Wal Mart territory. Wal Mart also took a different approach to merchandising and pricing than its competitors. While competitors relied heavily on private label goods, second tier brands and price promotions, Wal Mart promised National Brands at everyday low prices. The company pursued efficiency and ... Physical Therapy For The Rehabilitation Process Physical Therapy Definition of Physical Therapy Physical therapy is the treatment of deformity, injury, or disease by healthcare professionals, physical therapists, through hands on methods such as massage, exercise, or heat treatment so that drugs or surgery may not be needed. In physical therapy sessions therapists work with patients to help them improve their movement so that they are able to manage their pain. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patient examination in physical therapy includes measures such as strength, flexibility, range of motion, motor function, and quality of life. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015). Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau, 2015). The cavalry was part of the Macedonian tactical system. However, in the later years of the Roman Empire cavalry started to become more important for frontier defense because it allowed for increased mobility. Also, romans used cavalry for the rapid concentration of forces to close the gap between legions. After 250 AD, cavalry was even more predominant in the roman army. • 28. Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Personal Report Having a good understanding of your professional strengths and weaknesses is imperative to having a successful career. It is also important to know what types of positions and projects would allow you to utilize those strengths to benefit your career. Taking the GLEAM.org Network Assessment and Motivational Style Assessment were very helpful in identifying some of those strengths and weakness in my professional environment. The Network assessment was especially interesting because it was such a unique type of assessment. Both the size and density of my network was defined as medium, which was a little bit surprising to me. Since over half of my network contacts listed are coworkers, I was expecting the density and size to be small. While the size and density of my network were average, my report indicates that I have weaker ties than the average respondent. My Personal Network report identifies a benefit of this being that I could potentially have access to a much broader range of information. The report also identifies the disadvantage of this being that those weaker relationships would be unable to provide a higher level of support if needed. The insight that this report provided me will be very helpful when thinking about completion of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program and my career over the next five years. Identifying and fostering a healthy network (of both MAcc students and accounting professionals) is crucial during a program as rigorous as the MAcc program. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While there are many facets to international taxation, recent research has looked to the use of OFC s as a conduit for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), likely in response to the increasing cross border flow of FDI. This paper steps away from the moral and political rhetoric surrounding this debate, and looks to the economic effects of OFC s on the parties involved. More particularly, this paper begins by briefly discussing why low tax jurisdictions and multi national corporations engage in this behavior. After demonstrating the generally positive benefits of outward FDI, this paper analyzes the contentious effects of using OFC s as a conduit for outward FDI. In lieu of a weak patriotic cheer, this paper focuses primarily on the benefits that OFC s may hold for Canada. I conclude that the reasonable use of transparent OFC s increases the competitiveness of Canadian corporations, leading to more Canadian jobs, capital creation and domestic tax revenue. Furthermore, increased dialogue with OFC s can result in legal, social and financial innovations in Canada. Lastly, this increased dialogue would be an ideal role for the federal government, as described during our class discussions. In light of this conclusion, I advocate for increased dialogue between Canada and OFC s. What is an OFC? This paper would be remiss if it did not begin with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After birth newborns eyes are still developing and cannot make out fine details far away. Newborns vision is around 20/240, but by 6 months their vision clears up to around 20/40. At birth infants are genetically programmed to know who their mother is and by three months they can match voices with their gender and ethnic groups. Along with being better to distinguish voices, newborns sense of colors also enhances with age. Perceptual vision is very important for infant eye development. Along with a color increase perception, young children start to develop the ability to overcome gravity bias. Then the charges race toward each other, they connect, and create an electrical circuit. Then it discharges the accumulated electricity as lightning. Lightning will most likely occur in the summer time during a thunderstorm. As the lightning strikes, it travels downward toward the ground. She is constantly feeling low and has frequent crying spells. Her physical examination is normal and thyroid function is normal. She is diagnosed with major depression and is referred for counseling and started on fluoxetine. What is the mechanism of action of fluoxetine? Fluoxetine is an antidepressant belonging to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of drugs used mainly for the treatment of major depression, obsessive compulsive, disorder, and panic disorder (Nordqvist, 2014, p. 1). SSRI work by increasing the levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates several aspects of brain function such as mood, sleep, and emotion (Mandal, 2014, p. 1). Fluoxetine works by blocking the absorption (reuptake) of serotonin, which helps to regulate and stabilize mood. Since uptake is an important mechanism for removing released neurotransmitters and terminating their actions on adjacent nerves, the reduced uptake caused by fluoxetine increased the free serotonin that stimulates nerve cells in the brain (Ogbru, 2014, p. 1). Why is fluoxetine the drug of choice? This medication is the drug of choice for this patient since the use in treating depression is well established. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
