The Civil Rights Achievements Of The Famous African...
This autobiographical analysis will define the civil rights achievements of the famous African
American actor, Canada Lee. Lee s background as a jockey, boxer, and a musician would set the
stage for a major acting career in theater and in Hollywood. More importantly, Lee would use his
fame as an actor to promote racial equality through the support of Hollywood magnates, such as
Orson Wells, and through the theatrical/literary guidance of Langston Hughes. Lee would be
become known for his role in Lifeboat (1944) by Alfred Hitchcock, but he would also get other
roles in throughout this historical period. These successes as an actor propelled Lee to the
forefront of civil rights issues that were becoming more of a problem during the 1930s... Show more

The cast wore ballroom finery and the witches magic was turned into voodoo (Mordden 236).
This major breakthrough for lee was a crucial moment in his acting career, since he was
catapulted into fame through the support of Welles. More so Langston Hughes began to take
notice of Lee s burgeoning success, which eventually inspired Hughes to write to versions of his
novels into theatrical dramas. During this time, Lee and Hughes were denied financial support
for the two plays, yet Lee eventually went onto great stage success by performing in Richard
Wright s theatrical drama of native Son (1941). More so, Welles was, once again, the primary
support for producing Native Son, which provided a an even greater public platform for Lee s
civil rights activism in the 1940s. Lee s theatrical success would not only garner him critical
acclaim as an actor, but he would also use this fame to promote racial equality and justice for
African Americans. During WWII, Lee would speak out against racial division in the U.S.
military, which segregated black soldiers from white soldiers (Biondi 10). In this manner, Lee
spoke throughout the country about the problem of segregation, which allowed him to exploit his
fame for the cause of African American civil rights: He felt honor bound to use his success as a
platform to fight for equal rights, for his people and for all people suffering social, political, and
economic injustices (Smith

Social Image Of Marie Antoinette
One of the most famous queen of France, Marie Antoinette is the major historical figure
representing the dawn of the French revolution. Though she was seen as a symbol of the
conservative, extravagant royal class, recent studies disagree on this well known image. Historical
fact shows that Marie Antoinette was a virtuous queen and a thoughtful mother who was
courageous in the face of death. The current social image of Antoinette is a prejudiced one. Her
notoriety is wrongly accused. Antoinette was only a victim of family ambition and the general
situation in France.
Though she lacked actual political power, Antoinette lived an active, charitable and modest life. The
famous phrase, Let them eat cake is often attributed to Antoinette as a vivid example of her
ignorance. However, renowned biographer Antonia Fraser in Marie Antoinette: The Journey notes
that this phrase is misattributed. It is actually originated from Jean Jacques Rousseau s Confessions,
an autobiography published when Antoinette was only nine. It is more likely that some
discontented individual fabricated the scenario and put the words into the mouth of Marie
Antoinette (Fraser, 124). Moreover, Antoinette s actions show that she was far from ignorant. In
1785, when a terrible famine swept the country, potato planting ... Show more content on

It is evident that she made mistakes in her younger years. Yet not all of the criticisms of the queen
were warranted, or even true. And in some ways, Antoinette is still misunderstood. She was a
woman simply born in the wrong place at the wrong time and a Scapegoat of the Ancient Regime
when her faults were minor in comparison to the punishments inflicted on her. , as is mentioned by
Fraser in Marie Antoinette: The Journey (Fraser, 14). Teaching Antoinette as a symbol of the
ignorant, noble class before the French revolution is wrong. Her current image in European history
should be reevaluated based on actual fact and without any

Refinancing Your Student Loans
Refinancing your student loans means that a private lender is essentially buying your Federal
student loans, paying them off, and creating a new loan that it will lend to you on new, original
terms.
The new terms of your refinanced loan will be based off your credit reports, credit score, and other
requirements. The new private loan terms include, among other things, a new interest rate and
potentially a new term (the length of time over which you have to repay your loan).
For example, you could take your Federal student loans that have a 10 year term and refinance
them into one private loan for 20 years.
If you have the option to extend the term of your student loan when you refinance, you should
consider a number of factors before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, I m a trained corporate attorney with student loan debt. If I was unable to extend the
term of my loan from 10 years to 25 years, then I probably wouldn t have been able to switch
career paths to a financial planner because I had to take a significant pay cut to make the move.
Because I was able to extend the term of my loan and make lower monthly payments, I have much
greater job and career flexibility.
When your monthly student loan payment is lower, you have more options because your debt
doesn t play as significant of a role in your monthly expenses.
Example of extending your student loan term
Assume Amy has $45,000 in Federal student loan debt at 6.0% interest rate on a 10 year,
standard repayment plan. Amy decides to refinance her loans to private loans to get a lower
interest rate. Amy and her lender agree to a new loan with a principal balance of $45,000 at a
4.0% interest rate for a period of 25 years. Using a simple amortization calculator, I came up with
the following calculations:
Amy s term: 25 years (2015 2040)
Amy s monthly payments: $237.53
Total repaid: $71,257.97
Amy pays $16,585.60 more in her total amount repaid by extending her term from 10 years to 25
years (see the example below), but her monthly

A wide local area network is used to link networks in vast geographic. For instance, you can use a
WAN to connect to larger places such as the United States, China, and Japan. Another type of
network is Metropolitan area network (MAN) which is used to connect an entire city, a
particular region, and university campus. Moreover, a metropolitan area network is smaller than
a wide area network but larger than a local area network. Furthermore, there is another type of
network, which is called PAN (Personal Area Network). A Personal Area network is defined as a
group of computers or electronic devices connected to a specific range of a user. For example,
when we have a group of devices at home interconnected such as laptops, printers, tablets, and
cell phones. Networks have become a central issue for organizations, business, and universities
because it provides many advantages. One of the benefits of a network is the easiest way to
share information. For example, in a company where there are many offices around the world you
can distribute information to all the offices in short time. Moreover, having a network will give
you the benefits to talking with people in real time in a larger distance. In addition, another
advantage of a network is that allow you to share hardware. For example, in an office that you only
have a printer you can use this printer connected to multiple computers instead of having one printer

Japan As A Collectivist Country
Many westerners view Japan as a collectivist country that differs greatly when comparing it to
western countries such as the United States in cultural aspects. One may explain that Confucianism
plays a key role in how the Japanese society functions. Others may argue that Japan is distinctively
different and no other country share similar traits. People can see the evidence of Japan being a
collectivistic country by comparing Japan to other countries in the concept of high context society
versus low context society. How do Japan and other countries differ in culture? Japan is regarded as
a high context society and on the other hand the United Statesis considered a low context society. In
high context societies, people often value relationships more than partnership. The virtue of
harmony is the main emphasis in high context societies. In the United States students are often
encouraged to know how to form an argument and debate with other people to prove their opinion
and persuade other people to agree. On the contrary, Japanese students learn about teamwork
through different task and recognize oneself as a member of the society. In Japan, people
discourage competition and encourage cooperation. Unlike the United States where children are
often praised for being unique and special, Japan tends to prefer conformity and children are
advised to be just like everyone else in the group. Although it has changed throughout the past
decade, before all most all female Japanese

An Analysis Of Catullus Poetry
I have read that you have had a interesting life. I think that it is interesting that your family was
not wealthy, does that affect the fact that you did not get married? I would be really interested if
you were affected by that. Were you really a descendant of Celts and Iberians? That would be
cool if you could date back to then. You were also born along the Salo river? That must of been
good for growing food since you have a water source nearby. I still can not believe that you were
in a group, plotting to kill the emperor Nero, and have encountered the one and only Lucan! You,
Martial born to a unwealthy family, was born on one of Rome s seven hills, Quirinal! That is super
cool! You also introduced few themes not introduced by Catullus... Show more content on

You also were a hilarious but kinda of a rude person. When you were writing these poems, did
people approve it ? When would you find the ideas of writing such harsh but funny poems? If
you would think of doing these types of things on you fellow comrades, you would have no
friends at all! Have you ever been acted to like this? Once you have, think how harsh you are to
others and how it affects the people you make fun of! Did you ever think of using kind words in
your poetry? That might be a good idea if you want to be liked by anyone. I know some people,
but none as mean or offensive as you. Even though you had a lot of people not make you their
top star, you were still recognized for your work. If children saw, spoke, or heard your work,
their parents would not approve. You made lots of work that was good, but not very appropriate.
Were you made fun of in your past life? If that happened, that would not be surprising, since you
also were making the same type of offensive poetry as someone would do to you. The life of you
is and always was very interesting along with all of the poetry you create. Would you purposely
or accidentally make the epigrams offensive? How and why did you make so many epigrams?
You would be with my angry side if you would insult me once. Only one insult and I would be
extra angry. The people of Rome probably disliked you and your epigrams. Whenever the people
saw you, they would go and think you would insult them and make them very unhappy. Whenever
romans saw you, they would cringe and think they should run before an insult comes out of his
mouth about them from you. Would you donate money to the Commoda? That would help you and
others. Being a person to help others would give you a chance to make others like you more than
now. With the thoughtof the Commoda, did you often go to the bath houses? The bathhouses sound

How is the audience positioned to see Gordon Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps?
The film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps follows the story of Jacob Moore, his partner Winnie
Gekko, and her estranged father Gordon Gekko. Director Oliver Stone uses not only
characterisation but also film techniques and symbolism to position the audience to see a certain

audience of today. The storyline of the film is based around Gordon Gekko, his family and his

High School Algebra Research Paper
During the years of high school, students are exposed to multitudes of branches of mathematics.
Each math prepares you for college and different careers; however, algebra is the basic math
every person will use throughout their life. Algebra will play a role in my life throughout my
college career and adult life by means of taxes and shopping. .
During college, students must take specified required classes math, language, science, and social
studies especially as well as classes designed for the student s identified major. As a freshman
undergraduate student, I will be required to take math classes involving algebra. Having an
understanding in high school better prepares me for these upper level lessons. I intend on

Five Lessons Learned from “the Ugly American”
Introduction
There are tens of thousands of how to books, but The Ugly American is unique in that it s actually
a how not to book. Published in 1958, the action takes place in the early 1950s at the height of the
Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States of America. Set primarily in the fictional
Asian country of Sarkhan, the struggle between Russian Communists and American Foreign
Service personnel plays out battle by battle through examples of military and political events
riddled with Ugly American social faux pas.
In Lederer s and Burdick s book, the day by day business of American policy implementation and
foreign aid to other countries is described. Central to The Ugly American is the historical reality of
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is interesting to see how foreign culture is seen through different eyes in each of the personal
mini stories that comprise this book.
Issue No. 3
Just as the character of Louis Krupitzyn takes many smart and savvy actions in The Ugly
American, he takes many unethical actions too. The one that stood out the most was when he
changes the wording on the labels of bags of American aid rice to read Gift of Russia in other
words, he takes credit for aid that isn t Russia s.
Almost everybody does his or her job with a goal in mind, and in a very tangible way, Krupitzyn s
action helped him get closer to his goal. But that doesn t make it right. Simply because his main
goal was to spread communism to Sarkhan within 30 months, taking credit for work that isn t yours
is unacceptable, even if it furthers your agenda. The ends do not justify the means.
Issue No. 4
One of the books most obvious arguments is that we spend billions on the wrong aid projects while
overlooking the almost costless and far more helpful ones. Sears undermines a Wisconsin dairyman
s self started project to raise nutrition levels in the Sarkhan countryВside, thwarts a band of anti
Communist irregulars formed by a militant Massachusetts priest, and orchestrates the dismissal of
his more capable successor, who fails to convince Washington of an impending coup. He does this
all because these efforts get in the way of his big, self serving plans that do not benefit

Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa ( 1910-1998 )
Akira Kurosawa (1910 1998) was one of Japan s most important film directors of the twentieth
century. His work spanned over fifty years and included a broad range of genres from historical
epics to gangster dramas. His films not only told interesting stories but also broke new ground.
Many of his innovations were technical, such as his use of the long lens, his penchant for
shooting with multiple cameras, and his virtuosic editing. Other innovations were tied to his
emphasis on details within his films, such as elaborate period costumes and sets, western music,
stunning location shots, and detailed miniature sets. As to specific reasons, I think much of it
comes down a confusion between theme and technique. I don t see any reason to question
Kurosawa s word that all his films were Japanese and aimed solely at a Japanese audience.
However, many writers on the topic saw camera movements or set ups that resembled John Ford,
read about Kurosawa s admiration for westerns and American pulp fiction, and added it up into a
bland statement of Kurosawa being an essentially Western film maker. And Japanese critics,
puzzled about why he was so popular in the West compared to other film makers, decided this is
right. He has often been called the most Western of Japanese film directors (and is certainly the
best known of them in Europe and America), but though he freely admits influence from Western
directors and painters and has based several of his films on major Western texts, he

process and Crime control are two models opposite of the spectrum. Due process maintains the
constitutional rights of a person innocent until proven guilty . In simple terms, due process is
like swinging across the monkey bars to reach the final result of finding one guilty. A good
example of due process would be, going to a judge in order to grant a search warrant on a home

book . Crime control does not favor ones constitutional rights as an individual, and acts as a crime
deterrent, and always assuming the party is guilty. Another example would be breaking into

How Is The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber
Set on an African Safari in the early 1900s, Ernest Hemingway s The Short Happy Life of Francis
Macomber tells the story of a young man and wife, Francis and Margot Macomber, and their
English guide, Robert Wilson, on a hunting trip gone awry. This essay will show how Hemingway s
character tied into the story itself.
Francis Macomber is described as very tall, very well built... and considered handsome
(Hemingway). He and his wife, Margot, clearly do not have a very healthy relationship, and on
various occasions she flirts heavily with Wilson. This story is quite ironic, as in the title it says
Francis Macomber s life was happy, though throughout the story you can see that it very much
isn t. He seems to be miserable in his relationship with his wife but as later on stated, Margot was
too beautiful for Macomber to divorce, and Macomber had too much money for Margot to ever

The Importance Of Environment Status On The Environment
Environment Status: To Be Determined Some humans spend their time obsessing over super
heroes while others are obsessing over saving the planet but is there a possible super power
capable of doing so? As emphasized in Man and Nature written in 2002 by George Perkins Marsh,
a key figure to the commencement of environmentalism ( George Perkins Marsh, 2015), mankind
has done its fair share of destroying nature s functionality with expectations of a futile environment
in return. Although there are constant changes occurring to the environment and the policies
having to do with the environment, this article addresses issues that have continued to depress
throughout the years. Some of the main aspects and issues addressed in Marsh s article include the
comparison of humanvs. animal impact on the environment, changes that have begun to take place
although they need a further power to fully improve, protection that needs to be put into place on
pastures and land that have yet to be used, the search of a solution to balance the rainfall in each
different kind of climate and biome and the need to be able to differentiate changes occurring
because of human actions or because of geological actions.
Marsh begins by explaining the different outcomes created by both humans and animals. He writes
that animals act upon their roles in the food chain and buy their natural will to survive, while man
often acts upon selfish needs. He writes that Human differs from brute action, too, in

The Science of Soccer
Soccer is my favorite sport. Soccer is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a
circle shaped ball. This game is played on a rectangle shaped field with a goal at each end. The
object of the game is to score by using any part of the body (besides arms and hands) to get the
soccer ball into the opposing goal. There are so many things that go into making a soccer game
function. Science, math, and many other things help this game run properly. Weight and massplay a
big part in soccer. Weight is a forcethat is always directed towards the center of the earth. The
weight of an average MLS (major league soccer) ball is about one pound. If the ball weighs more
than it s supposed to, then it will be harder to kick. If a player is weighs more, than their kick is
going to be a lot harder but, they will be slower than the lighter kids.
A soccer ball is hollow and inflated with high pressure air. The weight of the ball is distributed
on single point the outside. Most of us think of the weight a collected and acting through a single
point called the center of gravity. The center of gravity is the average location of the weight of an
object. The center of gravity on a soccer ball is located in the exact middle of the ball. When the
ball is in flight the ball rotates around the center of gravity.
Friction prevents the ball from rolling on forever. The ball rubs against the ground which causes
resistance. That resistance slows the ball down. Eventually, no matter

Statement of Background and Professional Goals
I would like to request a program transfer from the Faculty of Science to the Faculty of
Kinesiology. I am currently in First Year as a fulltime student at University of New Brunswick.
I think that a program transfer to the Faculty of Kinesiology would help me with my career goals
because it seems like a much more streamlined approach to the medical field than the Science
program here at UNB. As it is common knowledge that getting into medical school is a hard task, it
just makes sense to give yourself the best shot at achieving that goal. Having courses that aim you
in that direction help, as well as having the opportunities to go and see a medicine facility. Everyone

My time in the Diagnostic Imaging department showed me how important the machines and the
images they produce are to help people. Not only can it help diagnose illnesses and broken
bones, but are also used to help with proper placements of medical aids and surgeries. It is my
goal to be able to do the problem solving and knowledge application necessary to help people with
their health through the images created. For me, that would be such a rewarding experience.
I am currently employed at Canadian Tire, but am in the process of finding a job at Lake of the
Woods District Hospital in my hometown of Kenora, Ontario. I did a Co op placement in the
local hospital in Grade 11. I did a placement in the Diagnostic Imagery department as well as a

interest in pursuing a career in the health field
I am an athlete on UNB Varsity Reds Women s swim team. Before coming to Fredericton, I was

The Qualities of Brutus in Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar ...
In Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar , Brutus is a main character and conspirator of the
assassination plot of Caesar. Unfortunately for Rome, Brutus does not wish to become the next
ruler. If Brutus had chosen to do so, he undoubtedly would have been one of Rome s greatest
rulers, due to his many virtuous qualities. One of those qualities is that Brutus is an honorable
man. He does not have a single iota of corruption But for supporting robbers, shall we now
contaminate our fingers with base bribes, and sell the mighty space of our large honors for so
much trash as may be grasped thus? I had rather be a dog and bay at the moon than such a Roman!

how Brutus overcame the sadness and grief of killing his best friend for the good of Rome.
Therefore, Brutus is a stoic. Finally Brutus will put the needs of his fellow Romans in front of
those of his own. Brutus is originally brought into the assassination plot, because he truly
believes in his heart that this is something he must do for the good of Rome. If then that a friend

For the Love of God Please Ban Zero Day Exploits
There is an interesting discussion going on revolving around privacy experts, and security
professional surrounding the use, and abuse of 0day exploits. Some of the talk comes
surrounding a Bloomberg article titled: US Contractors Scale Up Search for Heartbleed Like
Flaws [1] The argument on the side of privacy / legal/ crypto experts (summarized) seems to be
we need to stop because it will get into the wrong hands [2] People are going to use it for the
wrong reasons. Which is true to a degree but on a grand scale one of the most absurd things I
have read in some time. No law pertaining to say guns, ever stopped a criminal from obtaining
and using a gun. While one could argue the role of minimization of the usage of guns, I could
argue back, the criminals could shift to using a knife, a knitting needle, a steak bone to inflict
harm. The same can, and will likely apply to trying to stop the sale of 0day exploits. Let s be
blunt about it the zero day market. There are ONLY two real procurers of zero day exploits:
government and criminals. Criminalizing the sale of zero days is NOT going to stop the
criminals, they re already underground doing what they do. Governments? Governments will do
whatever they want. You can trick yourself into thinking they would stop if there were laws
against it however, you d be naive to think that some form of national security classification won t

The Importance Of Trauma Informed Care
As a support worker, it is necessary that organisation would need to have a foundational
understanding of how to identify trauma associated responses. Similarly, there needs to be
understanding when initiating treatment interventions for trauma related symptoms, it is aimed to
be conducive and empowering to the individual (Trauma Informed Care: A Sociocultural

trauma, as well as not disregarding the probability of substance abuse and co occurring disorders

The Atmosphere Built Up By Jonny Greenwood
There Will Be Blood takes place in the early 1900 s, where prospector Daniel Plainview sets out
on a journey to claim his fortune though oil drilling. The longing for riches, and the slow accent
into madness are the key components in what makes the film and it s character so enticing. The
atmosphere built up by Daniel is completed by the unique orchestral sounds; feelings of woe,
suspense, fear, and uncertain conclusions are skillfully captured. The pace of the film, the various
scores, and a deeply driven character all sum up to a masterfully skilled piece of work. Scored by
Jonny Greenwood, lead guitarist from the band RadioHead, uses his skills as a composer to
deliver a unique sound that pairs well with the film. Described as RadioHead s jack of all trades,
Greenwood is skilled in plying not only the guitar, but also the xylophone, sampler, keyboards
and the ondes Marenot, the instrument used in the film (Bekkala). Showing his master in rock;
his interest span to other genres including classical. His inspirations come from Messiaen and
Ligeti, two paramount 20th century composers skilled in serialism and postmodernism
respectively. Their influences are clearly shown in Greenwood s There Will Be Blood scores.
Another composer, Penderecki,a modern skilled composer and conductor also shows in
Greenwood s work. I love hearing Penderecki played by live orchestras there s noting like it... But

Essay about The Feminine Sea in Moby Dick
The Feminine Sea in Moby Dick
Melville s novel, Moby Dick, has only men. Melville s men s club sails a sea whose gender changes
often and whose personality is resolutely enigmatic. The feminine in MelvilleВ№s novel hides her
face in a veil of stars and behind a cloud of words.
Literally, Moby Dick is a men s club, with only a glimpse of a woman in the background, or
reflected in the stories of the sailors. They seem to have no sexuality, nor any personality. The two
full blooded, dialogue speaking characters in the novel are both servants. Mrs. Hussey ladles out
ВіClam or CodВі to Queequeg and Ishmael, bans harpoons from her house, and busies herself like
some cosmic washerwoman. In the novel, she is a laughably comic figure ... Show more content on

per Aunt Charity s orders. Stubb thunders and sends for more manly grog, then Aunt CharityВ№s
gift...was freely given to the waves. (Monkey Rope p. 419) So, even though we are told that she
has been indefatigable in her efforts, the only gifts enumerated are trivial and silly, befitting
someone who has no idea of the seriousness of the work involved. Both Charity and Mrs. Hussey
are distanced from the men and men s work of the novel; they are the servants of the club, ignorant
and silly.
The only other women in the menВ№s club exist in memory. Ishmael speaks of his best and most
conscientious step mother, sending him to bed during the daylight. Like Jane Eyre, locked up only
in his room, his visited by a phantom and the vision haunts him. This scary vision is repeated, but
happily, Ishmael wakes to have QueequegВ№s arm around him (The Counterpane). Both Starbuck
and Ahab are married and have children, though their wives are scarcely mentioned. The Pequod
rarely stops for a gam and never passes letters, so we know that Starbuck and Ahab never write

back to their families on Nantucket. Ahab cries in regret for the treatment of his wife, saying that in

This I Believe Essay
Life is all about change. It s pretty obvious to most of us that the corollary states that if you stop
changing, you are dead. Having said that it makes the job of describing my beliefs difficult.
After all, in a year I may see things very differently. When I look back at the things I have
believed it is clear that many have withered away, seemingly to make room for the growth of new
ideas.
Perhaps this should discourage me from trying to form a personal philosophy but I can t be
convinced that the alternative is very attractive. How could I face each day without knowing what I
value and what I repudiate, both within myself and in the world at large.
Can you see, as I do, that one of the most permanent beliefs we should all share ... Show more

It s just a pity it sounds so serious.
Take a look at the people that you admire. Isn t it true to say that they clearly understand who
they are and what they stand for? Success doesn t always equate to admiration, at least in my
experience. I take great delight in a friend from my university days whose only notable
achievement is to have a loving marriage and be raising three wonderful children. A past
workmate of mine who was very successful and set to become even more so, made my list when
she decided her job didn t match her soul and left to become a Nun. There are heroes all around us,
so be on the lookout.
As the child of a loving and secure family environment, the only danger I faced was the risk of
growing into a bland adult. I ve got nothing against mashed potato but if given the choice I will
opt for Cajun style crawdads every time. Just as a good chef knows it is the unique favours that
define a dish, it is equally true that we should cultivate the special attributes that define ourselves.
At this point a canny reader may be thinking that I am advocating a culture of freaks; far from it.
What could be more frustrating than watching a profound idea watered down and clouded by a
mob of people who chase the image by affecting its surface traits. Let s break it down further.

The Subculture Of Craft Beer
1.What is the subculture s core purpose? What motivates, unifies and drives the members?

It s Friday night in the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and all the cool, hip young professionals
are out to celebrate the start of the weekend. After doing a tour of the most popular and crowded
bars, I found that all of these partygoers are drinking the same drink: Craft Beer.
As a student of ethnography I was interested in this social phenomenon of craft beer in Cape
Town, and even more so about this subculture of drinkers that would pay more for a craft beer,
then a standard, regular, cheaper beer.
Craft beer in this context refers to beer that has been brewed locally and has not been distributed

Beer Brands to improve their sales. In America , Lowes Foods, a locally bent grocery store chain

where customers can sample beer and then buy a pint to drink while they shop. This was such a
success that they implemented the same strategy in Whole Foods. The in store taps enable
customers to taste different beers and provide opportunities for customers to meet the brewer; a
strategy I believe will work well in South Africa.
Adventure stores such as Cape Union Mart, Outdoor Warehouse and Due South could also partner

Justification Of Revolt In America
Justification of Revolt The American colonists came to North America to part from Britain and
its monarchy. They called America the New World, a land for new beginnings. The King, or the
Royal Brute of Great Britain, thought of the New World as a token in which he could benefit
from. He used America for its cotton, gold, and to show that Britain was the most powerful
country. King George III took advantage of the colonists and America s resources. The colonists
wished to separate from Great Britain and had enough spirit to be able to win the war. The
American colonists were justified in breaking away from Britain and initiating the Revolutionary
War because parliament was passing absurd laws and acts, withdrawing colonial freedom, and
disrupting the peace among colonial citizens ; however, one may consider that the colonists were
the blame for the Revolutionary War happening at all. Parliament had passed many laws without
consulting those in the colonies. In result, America was denied the right to colonial currency,
Britain cut off trade with America, and the King placed a tax on all paper items. The Sugar,
Townshend, and Stamp Acts were all unreasonable and caused disruption among the colonies. Even

Pleasantville setting essay
Describe at least ONE important setting in the text(s).
Explain how the setting helped to show the author / creator s idea(s), supporting your points with
visual and / or oral language features.
The film Pleasantville written, directed and produced by Gary Ross shows a time period in
American History where life was more comfortable, stable and perfect if you would generalise it.
However, as the film ironically shows, this was a time when people were more ignorant, racist
and most certainly sexist. Ross demolishes this illusion of the great 1950s American society by
showing how its defects are gradually changed from black and white to colour. Ross uses various

Betty is a clear example of costume change. In the beginning Betty wore the typical ladies dress

of the ideas that gary ross shows us through setting.
Music is an important signifier of setting and shows the idea of The importance of change
clearly throughout the film. When Jen and David first enter Pleasantville the recurring songs
and motifs for example Take 5 by Dave Brubeck which is played at the beginning in the soda
shop gives the town of pleasantville a very joyful and pleasant atmosphere. This music perfectly
matches the naivety of the teenagers as they engage in good, clean fun with their peers. As the
idea of The importance of change starts to appear in pleasantville, the music becomes more
complex and darker to portray the new rebellious mood that has seized Pleasantville. An example
of this is when the new code of conduct was issued and one of the rules were In no event shall any

How Did James Madison Contribute To The Constitution
James Madison is often considered the Father of the Constitution because many of his ideas
influenced the Constitution of the United States. Though the entirety of the Constitution was a
result of months of deliberation among the delegates, James Madison created important

of the U.S. from tyranny of the government. James Madisonbelieved there was many forms of

Ruby Bridges Thesis
To many people Ruby Bridges had been the first African American to enter an all white school,
but to others, she was an extremely fearless little girl who radiated love in everything she did.
Ruby Bridges began attending an all white elementary school when she was only six years old.
Every school day Ruby was escorted into school by U.S. Marshalls, which helped ensure her
safety from the protestors. The vulgar protesters treated Ruby, and yelled foul words at her, which
hardly bothered Ruby any. Six year old Ruby demonstrated courage, love, and fearlessness even
though she was treated as less than, terrorized, and isolated by the other students. Initially, Ruby
was treated as though she was less than others, not only by the teachers and parents but by the
students as well. Whenever the white people would see Ruby they would look away, and ignore
her as if she was not there. Also, Ruby is extremely smart, perhaps even smarter than the white
children, but is treated as though she cannot learn and is not able. For example, when Ruby made a
surprisingly high grade on the test which helped her enter the white school, all the teachers were

My Career Values For Fitness And Physical Education
I chose this career path because I am passionate about fitness and helping others. I know for this
career you must have patience, athletic ability, and motivational skills. I have worked with kids,

it s rewarding. No one inspired me to do this career, I have always loved working out and athletics
ever since I could remember; I also was pretty good at it too. When I was in elementary,
intermediate, middle, and high school, P.E/athletics was my favorite class. When I workout, my

to find a career that could be similar to what I love to do.
I think it is great that there are careers that you can pursue that you have a lot of interest in. You

Katie M Drinkall (u06a1) Unit 6 Assignment 1 Communication in Virtual Team Capella University
September 26, 2013 Communication Communication is the activity of conveying information
though the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information by speech, visuals, signals, writings or
behaviors (Grosse, 2002). These processes are done over time, culture, and geographic boundaries,
while this has become a common practice for organizations and has give rise to the concept of
globally dispersed teams known as virtual teams (LaLonde, 2011). Communication is one of the
most necessary components of leadership, without communication there would be no teams,
nobody would know what their role on the team would be, there would be no procedures... Show

(Jarvenpaa amp; Leidner, 2006). When a virtual team is established there are many reasons why the
team was developed, the main reason would be physical locations from one another. When teams
are spread out over a long distance it can be very time consuming as well as costly to travel to that
current location for a meeting, while the meeting could be conducted via the internet and
conference call. Even though a team is only communicating in the virtual reality, there are many
aspects of the first initial meeting that need to be made to make the team as effective as possible.
According to Nyström amp; Asproth, once initial contact has been made there needs to be
standards that need to be set for a positive communication standard. Technology According to Pitts
(p.3), Training is a very large issue related to communication in a virtual team, either the team
members do not have enough training when it comes to technology or they are simply lacking the
equipment needed to communication in a professional manner. While LaLonde (p.8) states that the
information technology provides the influence necessary to support the development and expansion
of new organizational infrastructure. Since there are no training courses in trust (Grosse, 2002).
There are however numerous carouses in communication and how to improve

Arab And Norman Dominations
When talking about the historical periods of Sicily, especially the period of Arab and Norman
domination, we are not talking about Arabs on one side and Normans on the other because they are
usually tied together and represented as one unique period, the Arab Norman. When the Normans
conquered Sicily during the 11th century, some elements of the Arab world were not removed, but
assimilated and improved. In this respect, we can talk of an historical continuity between Arab and
Norman dominations in Sicily. Institutionally, the Normans combined the administrative
organisation of the Byzantines, Arabs, and Lombards with their own conceptions of feudal law and
order to forge a unique government. Under this state, there was great religious freedom,

Perfume In Perfume
perfume the story of a murderer by patrick suskind is a story of grenouille who was born in the
early eighteenth century behind fish stalls to a fishwife who abandoned him at birth. he cries
out from behind the stall and is saved by bystanders. His mother is executed for her attempt at
killing him.he was taken care of by wet nurses who all returned him saying that he was too
greedy for milk and that he had no smell like that of a normal baby and so was the devil. father
terrier ridicules this idea until the child sniffs him as if he were sniffing into his soul. he is sent to

has the perfume and manages to force the people to their knees with it and they release him
without knowing what is causing them to do so.it adds emphasis to the fact that scent also plays
an important role in the way we perceive people. Grenouille creates the ultimate perfume of love

The Influence Of CAD On Society Essay
Before computers there were hands and tools. Before hands and tools there were just hands.
Humans have always been designing and throughout human history drafting is what became of it.
With new technology in building during the earlier years drafting needed to be changed to
accommodate it. Humans have always been able to find better ways to accomplish things. Drafting
is no different.
Before people used tools to draw something they went to what we call now a General Contractor
with an idea and he had to come up with the rest. After a while the contractors wanted more. Just an
idea wasn t enough for them. Their clients sometimes wouldn t like what they had built for them.
So eventually the contractors asked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is difficult to sketch on the computer because the computer is so accurate (Friedman). It is not a
good idea to draw a sketch accurately because between a sketch and the final drawing things change
drastically (Friedman). So it shouldn t be perfect. It should be something a drafter can interpret in
different ways.
To sketch a drawing an idea must first be thought of. Then once the idea has been thought of the
drafter begins with a piece of graph paper and a pencil. There are no tools needed for a sketch.
The boxes on the graph paper can be used as a guide and a scale (Friedman). A sketch is just an
estimation of the real thing. So one just estimates, nothing else.
CADD is very hard to sketch in. Some of the more sophisticated programs have a function where
the mouse can act like a sketch pencil (Bethune, 13). Although this seems like it might be like
the pencil it is not. Mice are harder to keep straight and even the lightweight drawing tasks may
make the hand tired (Bethune, 13). Other ways of getting a sketch on the computer are scanners,
electronic pens or touch pads. With the electronic pen, just point at the screen and that is where
the dot, line or shape shows up. However one moves the pen is what shows up. This can be hard
because a screen is at a weird angle, which makes drawing awkward. The touch pad however can
be bought to the size of the screen. These

The Vasa Gunship Catastrophe
Introduction
In 1626, the Swedish gunship, Vasa, was constructed for war against Poland. King Gustav II of
Sweden spared no expense and demanded the ship be the grandest, most prestigious watercraft ever
created. His demand was fulfilled, however due to continuous design changes, inadequate
communication, and a stringent timeline, the ship was poorly constructed. As a result, Vasa sunk
after sailing only 1,000 yards, perishing 50 men and all of the war supplies.
1.Who is responsible for this catastrophe?
In this case, it is difficult to blame one individual for the Vasa catastrophe because several decision
makers were involved. Still, King Gustav s numerous design alterations complicated construction
and pressured decision makers into accommodating his irrational demands. Additionally, King
Gustav did not communicate well with the shipbuilders, admiral, and seamen, and instead solely
concentrated on outshining other ships. Therefore, his lacking leadership and communication
created confusion and stress, which trickled down and ultimately led to the failure.
2.Were there any inappropriate risks that should not have been taken? How can these be identified
and mitigated on future shipbuilding initiatives?
During construction, there were several inappropriate risks taken. For example, time was not
invested into accurately drawing engineering plans that accommodated the King s requests to
increase the size of the keel and number of guns. Additionally, when the principal

Saturated Fat And Unsaturated Fats
1. A transverse plane is any horizontal plane that divides the body into superior and inferior
sections. To give an ultrasound on a woman carrying a child, the child is being carried in the front
of the abdomen. The correct plane used is the frontal plane. The frontal plane divides the body into
ventral and dorsal sections. 2. Negative feedback is a feedback that causes a stimulus to end. The
stimulus in this case is the itch. When you sense the itch, your body reacts to scratching it. When
you scratch the itch, the itch is revealed, therefore ending the stimulus and making scratching an
itch negative feedback. 3. Although both fats are in many foods, most unsaturated fats are more
beneficial to your heart, whereas many saturated fats can cause damage to your cholesterol and
your heart. Some examples of saturated fats are meats, dairy and pastries. Saturated fats contain
hydrogen atoms and have fatty acid chains with single covalent bonds between carbon atoms. At
room temperature, saturated fats are solid. Unsaturated fats are nuts, olives, and avocados.

Descriptive Essay On Camp Enfer
I stared out the window of an old, run down cab. I let out a breathy sigh.
Nervous kid? the old cab driver asks.
I nod my head.
I ve been here before, it s just not my favorite place
You ll be fine, many kids come and go. They always seem to return with a bright smile on their face.
He gives me a crooked grin, showing his yellow stained teeth. I chuckled.
I ll take your word for it
The rest of the ride was quiet with small talk here and there. I could have driven over here
myself, but I always get a bad feeling while driving. After about an hour drive we finally made it to
our destination, Camp Enfer. Camp Enfer was worn out beyond its years. Fortunately for the camp
it was placed in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It was surrounded by gigantic pine trees. It had
valleys that seem to go on forever. A lake that glistened in the sunshine. Hills that were greener than
a Granny Smith apple picked on a sunny spring day. As I stepped out of the cab I smelled the
chilly fresh air that surrounded me. I smiled, for it was the only thing I missed about this
wretched place. I helped Tim get my bags out of the trunk and I saw him speed away in his little
yellow cab, wishing I was anywhere, but here.
Hey stranger, haven t seen you in awhile
I looked over to see one of the only people I can actually tolerate in this damn place.
Sebby! I yelled.
He gave me a pointed a look. His real name is Sebastian, but I like to call him Sebby.
I walked over to him and gave him a

1. INTRODUCTION
[[Wikidata, and the problem]]
Wikidata is a central repository collecting structured data via collaborative online communities. It
has provided sup port for the content of Wikipedia and as well as other sites1. Like many other
projects that rely on contributions from volunteer users, Wikidata content are largely edited by vol
unteers (more than fifteen thousand active users2) from di verse locations, backgrounds and skill
levels. It is inevitable there is demand in understanding the quality and trustwor thiness of
Wikidata. One thing sets Wikidata apart from other linked open data repository is its focus on
curating sourced data which makes each statement verifiable. How ever, the reality is not only
there are a large number of statements without any references, but also there is no over all view of
how good the sources are for the statements with references.
[[Our focus]]
Our focus in this paper is to investigate the trustworthi ness of the statements by looking at how

Soil Case Study
Sandy soils in the Southeast are characterized by low nutrient and water holding capacity which is
further reduced by intense rainfall patterns and has been exacerbated by long term farming in the
region. These conditions lead to rapid nutrient loss in soils below the root zone. Nutrient run off is
a well established cause of non point source pollution affecting bodies of water and negatively
impacting water quality.
Modern crop cultivars with higher yields also frequently demand increased use of fertilizers,
contributing further to nutrient run off and pollution. In addition, soils in the Southeast range in
composition from deep sands to sandy loams, necessitating the development of a range of soil
management solutions tailored for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, certain particularly effective nematicides have been unavailable or in short supply,
increasing the need for alternative, cost effective solutions for controlling these pest.
This study proposes an examination of the soil amendments biochar, gypsum, and fly ash for
improving nutrient retention and water holding capacity in sandy Southeastern soils producing
cotton and testing biochar gypsum, and fly ash, with and without poultry litter and measuring the
soil nutrient profile, compaction, and pest populations before, during, and after each growing
season for two years in dryland farmed cotton.
The biochar, gypsum, and fly ash treatments will be applied with and without poultry litter to
compare the treatments as an alternative or adjunct to poultry litter fertilizer. The effect of both
treatments on thrip count and nematode populations will also be assessed.
The evaluation of biochar application to soil as a method for reducing N loss from fertilizers,
improving soil quality and fertility, and increasing yield and farm profitability have not been
thoroughly addressed (Hue, 2016).
2)Statement of Solution
The central idea of this study is to examine methods of making more efficient use of poultry litter
as a fertilizer in cotton production by reducing the amount of nutrient leaching and improving the
water holding capacity of the soil. Biochar, gypsum, and fly ash will be evaluated for enhancing soil

Mao s Last Dancer Belonging
Throughout Li Cunxin s memoir, Mao s Last Dancer, Li immerses the readers into the complex,
restrictive and challenging lifestyle he lived through various prose techniques, which engage the
audience into the cultural values of his life. Some examples of this is when he was living in
communist China, in a commune, going to a Beijing dance Academy, going to Houston and
finally moving to Australia. Through these experiences, culture is portrayed as being both
limiting and liberating. Culture could be limiting because it is was so restrictive because of Mao
s rules but it was also liberating because Chinese people are meant to be loyal to their country and
since their country is communist, they believed that it was the most free nation in the world. This
is shown in the story of the blind rabbit, where Li is taught that nothing comes easily, allegiance to
country surpasses that to family and to keep pride in the family name. An idea that chinese culture
has is that nothing comes easily and that life is about working hard and this is explored in the fable

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is about $12 per a column inch. So, if the company puts an

Communication Occurs Everyday With People At Work Or Home
Communication occurs everyday with people at work or home. Communication is important for
people to pass information and entertainment. This paper will discuss different aspects of
communication. These aspects include the explanation of the two communication types and how
nonverbal communication can help the communicationwith others. Another item that will be
discussed will involve results based on a survey taken that is on communication.
People have communication using two different types. These types include verbal and nonverbal
communication. Verbal communication is defined as how a person uses words and language,
where Nonverbal communication is defined as the message components that is used instead of
words to generate meaning (Engleberg, 2013, Chapter 6: Verbal and Nonverbal Communication in
Groups ). Verbal communication can occur in several different ways, like talking to someone in
person, on the telephone, or using email for example. Using these techniques allows people to use
words to share information. Examples of nonverbal communication would include body language
or tone of voice. These allow people within the group to read hidden messages about another
person without their knowledge. The speaker of the group will be sending multiple messages using
both verbal (words) and nonverbal (body language).
Improving a person s nonverbal communication can take several steps and include several
nonverbal areas. Nonverbal communication has several different areas

Frank was a small kid and throughout his life would always have someone else fight his battles
for him. He was always a below average student and eventually dropped out of AJ Demarest High
School after only showing up for 47 days. His mother, who could make Frank do anything for
her, convinced him to go to business school which ended after 11 months. He knew from a
young age that music instead of school was his calling. Frank s interesting in performing music
began at a very young age. Growing up he would sing at his family functions or at his parents
tavern to get some spare change. When he was finally old enough to get a real job, he began
trying to sing on radio shows before his mother convinced a local singing group to take him on.
Sinatra never learned how to read music, he would just listen and learn everything by ear. This
group would go on to win a contest which awarded them a six month gig singing around the
country and on the radio. This band s success landed Sinatra a job as a singing waiter at The
Rustic Cabin which was a popular dining spot. During his time here he married his wife Nancy,
who his mother did not approve of. This job got him a recording spot the radio show The Dance

The Tenets Of Behaviorism
The term behaviorism referred to the school of psychology founded by John B. Watson based on
the proposition that all things which organisms do including acting, thinking and feeling can and
should be regarded as behaviors (Staddon, 2001) . And this behavior could be researched
scientifically . According to Pavlov, Respondent Conditioning resulted from the association of two
stimuli, such as causing dogs to salivate at the sound a tuning fork. Consequently, Skinner
developed Operant Conditioning where the Stimulus Response association was elicited through
selective reinforcement (rewards or punishments) to shape behavior. In this regard, behaviorism
assumed that a learner was a passive recipient and responding to environmental stimuli. When
applying the tenets of Behaviorism to teaching, Skinner asserted that the learner started off as a
blank slate, and then his behavior was shaped via positive or negative reinforcement. Behaviorist...

was seen as change in learner s schemata. Language came primarily though the maturation that the

Cognitive theorists may have wanted to understand how problem solving changed throughout
childhood, how cultural differences affected the way we view our own academic achievement ,
language development, and much more. (Feldman,1995). Unlike behaviourism, cognitivism
emphasized that learners were not a programmed animals or passive receivers that respond merely
to environmental stimuli; contrarily learners are rational human being and require active

The Great White Sharks Of South Africa
Getting to Know the Great White Sharks in South Africa
When I was a child, I would always watch Steve Irwin on television. Steve Irwin inspired me to
want to work in a biological field the way he did. A few years later, I saw Shark Week on the
Discovery Channel for the first time and from that point on, I knew that I wanted to research
sharks. From there, I became familiar with all the work that OCEARCH has done regarding
great whites that are in South African waters and the great whites that frequent Cape Cod waters
in the summer ( About OCEARCH ). As I work towards my degree in Marine Biology, I would
love the opportunity to have hands on experience. Researching sharks is something that I find to
be very important, which I know OCEARCH does as well. I would like to apply for your
OCEARCH Great White Shark grant to travel to the coast of South Africa so that I may research
the great white sharks in the surrounding waters. I believe that I would qualify for OCEARCH s
grant because I understand the importance of studying great white sharks, I have done my
research on the travel that I need to go to South Africa, and lastly the science community would
benefit from my work. There is a need for shark research to be done worldwide ( Science ). Even
though South Africa is a popular spot for ecotourism, tourism to areas of ecological interest
(typically exotic and often threatened natural environments), especially to support conservation
efforts and observe wildlife, there is

What Are The Seven Elements Of Art
One piece of artwork that I did that has all the seven elements of art was my animal watercolor
painting. The seven elements of art are line, shape, color, value, form , texture, and space.
Somethings that these elements help with are make the artwork more realistic. It can also help
how realistic the details are and how it looks three dimensional. The first element I used was
line. Line helps you make a outline of what you are trying to make. Line is the edges of a figure
and it can be made with a pen or pencil. A line can help how realistic you artwork can look. If you
make a line that is behind you figure at a certain angle it can make the shape seem real. Line is
very important to a drawing because it can show a lot of detail. Another element that can help a
piece of artwork is shape. Shape is a area enclosed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Texture can also help your artwork feel more realistic. I used texture in my watercolor by painting
little hairs on the wolf s body to show how it might feel. It might feel like a furry rug or soft hair.
Texture can help with your artwork because it can help the viewer imagine the object in their mind.
The final element is space. Space can help show where the object is and you can also tell the
setting from the space around it. Space can also help your artwork because it can give detail about
the story behind of the artwork. In my watercolor painting the the space I used was to show the the
wolf was all by itself. It also shows how the land is barren and their is nothing on it.
The Seven Elements of Art can help your pieces of artwork. Some examples of elements that can
help are texture. Texture can help by helping the viewer imagine how the object feels. Another
element that can help us form. Form can help your drawing feel more three dimensional. All the
seven elements help your artwork feel more realistic and help improve your art

  • 2. The Civil Rights Achievements Of The Famous African... This autobiographical analysis will define the civil rights achievements of the famous African American actor, Canada Lee. Lee s background as a jockey, boxer, and a musician would set the stage for a major acting career in theater and in Hollywood. More importantly, Lee would use his fame as an actor to promote racial equality through the support of Hollywood magnates, such as Orson Wells, and through the theatrical/literary guidance of Langston Hughes. Lee would be become known for his role in Lifeboat (1944) by Alfred Hitchcock, but he would also get other roles in throughout this historical period. These successes as an actor propelled Lee to the forefront of civil rights issues that were becoming more of a problem during the 1930s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cast wore ballroom finery and the witches magic was turned into voodoo (Mordden 236). This major breakthrough for lee was a crucial moment in his acting career, since he was catapulted into fame through the support of Welles. More so Langston Hughes began to take notice of Lee s burgeoning success, which eventually inspired Hughes to write to versions of his novels into theatrical dramas. During this time, Lee and Hughes were denied financial support for the two plays, yet Lee eventually went onto great stage success by performing in Richard Wright s theatrical drama of native Son (1941). More so, Welles was, once again, the primary support for producing Native Son, which provided a an even greater public platform for Lee s civil rights activism in the 1940s. Lee s theatrical success would not only garner him critical acclaim as an actor, but he would also use this fame to promote racial equality and justice for African Americans. During WWII, Lee would speak out against racial division in the U.S. military, which segregated black soldiers from white soldiers (Biondi 10). In this manner, Lee spoke throughout the country about the problem of segregation, which allowed him to exploit his fame for the cause of African American civil rights: He felt honor bound to use his success as a platform to fight for equal rights, for his people and for all people suffering social, political, and economic injustices (Smith ... • 3. Social Image Of Marie Antoinette One of the most famous queen of France, Marie Antoinette is the major historical figure representing the dawn of the French revolution. Though she was seen as a symbol of the conservative, extravagant royal class, recent studies disagree on this well known image. Historical fact shows that Marie Antoinette was a virtuous queen and a thoughtful mother who was courageous in the face of death. The current social image of Antoinette is a prejudiced one. Her notoriety is wrongly accused. Antoinette was only a victim of family ambition and the general situation in France. Though she lacked actual political power, Antoinette lived an active, charitable and modest life. The famous phrase, Let them eat cake is often attributed to Antoinette as a vivid example of her ignorance. However, renowned biographer Antonia Fraser in Marie Antoinette: The Journey notes that this phrase is misattributed. It is actually originated from Jean Jacques Rousseau s Confessions, an autobiography published when Antoinette was only nine. It is more likely that some discontented individual fabricated the scenario and put the words into the mouth of Marie Antoinette (Fraser, 124). Moreover, Antoinette s actions show that she was far from ignorant. In 1785, when a terrible famine swept the country, potato planting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is evident that she made mistakes in her younger years. Yet not all of the criticisms of the queen were warranted, or even true. And in some ways, Antoinette is still misunderstood. She was a woman simply born in the wrong place at the wrong time and a Scapegoat of the Ancient Regime when her faults were minor in comparison to the punishments inflicted on her. , as is mentioned by Fraser in Marie Antoinette: The Journey (Fraser, 14). Teaching Antoinette as a symbol of the ignorant, noble class before the French revolution is wrong. Her current image in European history should be reevaluated based on actual fact and without any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Refinancing Your Student Loans Refinancing your student loans means that a private lender is essentially buying your Federal student loans, paying them off, and creating a new loan that it will lend to you on new, original terms. The new terms of your refinanced loan will be based off your credit reports, credit score, and other requirements. The new private loan terms include, among other things, a new interest rate and potentially a new term (the length of time over which you have to repay your loan). For example, you could take your Federal student loans that have a 10 year term and refinance them into one private loan for 20 years. If you have the option to extend the term of your student loan when you refinance, you should consider a number of factors before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, I m a trained corporate attorney with student loan debt. If I was unable to extend the term of my loan from 10 years to 25 years, then I probably wouldn t have been able to switch career paths to a financial planner because I had to take a significant pay cut to make the move. Because I was able to extend the term of my loan and make lower monthly payments, I have much greater job and career flexibility. When your monthly student loan payment is lower, you have more options because your debt doesn t play as significant of a role in your monthly expenses. Example of extending your student loan term Assume Amy has $45,000 in Federal student loan debt at 6.0% interest rate on a 10 year, standard repayment plan. Amy decides to refinance her loans to private loans to get a lower interest rate. Amy and her lender agree to a new loan with a principal balance of $45,000 at a 4.0% interest rate for a period of 25 years. Using a simple amortization calculator, I came up with the following calculations: Amy s term: 25 years (2015 2040) Amy s monthly payments: $237.53 Total repaid: $71,257.97 Amy pays $16,585.60 more in her total amount repaid by extending her term from 10 years to 25 years (see the example below), but her monthly ... A network is a group of computers which are connected to share information, files, and performs tasks. A network is built using the same common language. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A wide local area network is used to link networks in vast geographic. For instance, you can use a WAN to connect to larger places such as the United States, China, and Japan. Another type of network is Metropolitan area network (MAN) which is used to connect an entire city, a particular region, and university campus. Moreover, a metropolitan area network is smaller than a wide area network but larger than a local area network. Furthermore, there is another type of network, which is called PAN (Personal Area Network). A Personal Area network is defined as a group of computers or electronic devices connected to a specific range of a user. For example, when we have a group of devices at home interconnected such as laptops, printers, tablets, and cell phones. Networks have become a central issue for organizations, business, and universities because it provides many advantages. One of the benefits of a network is the easiest way to share information. For example, in a company where there are many offices around the world you can distribute information to all the offices in short time. Moreover, having a network will give you the benefits to talking with people in real time in a larger distance. In addition, another advantage of a network is that allow you to share hardware. • 6. Japan As A Collectivist Country Many westerners view Japan as a collectivist country that differs greatly when comparing it to western countries such as the United States in cultural aspects. One may explain that Confucianism plays a key role in how the Japanese society functions. Others may argue that Japan is distinctively different and no other country share similar traits. People can see the evidence of Japan being a collectivistic country by comparing Japan to other countries in the concept of high context society versus low context society. How do Japan and other countries differ in culture? Japan is regarded as a high context society and on the other hand the United Statesis considered a low context society. In high context societies, people often value relationships more than partnership. The virtue of harmony is the main emphasis in high context societies. In the United States students are often encouraged to know how to form an argument and debate with other people to prove their opinion and persuade other people to agree. On the contrary, Japanese students learn about teamwork through different task and recognize oneself as a member of the society. In Japan, people discourage competition and encourage cooperation. Unlike the United States where children are often praised for being unique and special, Japan tends to prefer conformity and children are advised to be just like everyone else in the group. • 8. An Analysis Of Catullus Poetry I have read that you have had a interesting life. I think that it is interesting that your family was not wealthy, does that affect the fact that you did not get married? I would be really interested if you were affected by that. Were you really a descendant of Celts and Iberians? That would be cool if you could date back to then. You were also born along the Salo river? That must of been good for growing food since you have a water source nearby. I still can not believe that you were in a group, plotting to kill the emperor Nero, and have encountered the one and only Lucan! You, Martial born to a unwealthy family, was born on one of Rome s seven hills, Quirinal! That is super cool! You also introduced few themes not introduced by Catullus... When would you find the ideas of writing such harsh but funny poems? If you would think of doing these types of things on you fellow comrades, you would have no friends at all! Have you ever been acted to like this? Once you have, think how harsh you are to others and how it affects the people you make fun of! Did you ever think of using kind words in your poetry? That might be a good idea if you want to be liked by anyone. I know some people, but none as mean or offensive as you. Even though you had a lot of people not make you their top star, you were still recognized for your work. If children saw, spoke, or heard your work, their parents would not approve. You made lots of work that was good, but not very appropriate. Were you made fun of in your past life? If that happened, that would not be surprising, since you also were making the same type of offensive poetry as someone would do to you. The life of you is and always was very interesting along with all of the poetry you create. Would you purposely or accidentally make the epigrams offensive? How and why did you make so many epigrams? You would be with my angry side if you would insult me once. Only one insult and I would be extra angry. The people of Rome probably disliked you and your epigrams. Whenever the people saw you, they would go and think you would insult them and make them very unhappy. Whenever romans saw you, they would cringe and think they should run before an insult comes out of his mouth about them from you. Would you donate money to the Commoda? That would help you and others. Being a person to help others would give you a chance to make others like you more than now. With the thoughtof the Commoda, did you often go to the bath houses? Published in 1958, the action takes place in the early 1950s at the height of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States of America. Set primarily in the fictional Asian country of Sarkhan, the struggle between Russian Communists and American Foreign Service personnel plays out battle by battle through examples of military and political events riddled with Ugly American social faux pas. It is interesting to see how foreign culture is seen through different eyes in each of the personal mini stories that comprise this book. Issue No. 3 Just as the character of Louis Krupitzyn takes many smart and savvy actions in The Ugly American, he takes many unethical actions too. The one that stood out the most was when he changes the wording on the labels of bags of American aid rice to read Gift of Russia in other words, he takes credit for aid that isn t Russia s. Almost everybody does his or her job with a goal in mind, and in a very tangible way, Krupitzyn s action helped him get closer to his goal. But that doesn t make it right. Simply because his main goal was to spread communism to Sarkhan within 30 months, taking credit for work that isn t yours is unacceptable, even if it furthers your agenda. The ends do not justify the means. Issue No. 4 One of the books most obvious arguments is that we spend billions on the wrong aid projects while overlooking the almost costless and far more helpful ones. Sears undermines a Wisconsin dairyman s self started project to raise nutrition levels in the Sarkhan countryВside, thwarts a band of anti Communist irregulars formed by a militant Massachusetts priest, and orchestrates the dismissal of his more capable successor, who fails to convince Washington of an impending coup. • 12. Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa ( 1910-1998 ) Akira Kurosawa (1910 1998) was one of Japan s most important film directors of the twentieth century. His work spanned over fifty years and included a broad range of genres from historical epics to gangster dramas. His films not only told interesting stories but also broke new ground. Many of his innovations were technical, such as his use of the long lens, his penchant for shooting with multiple cameras, and his virtuosic editing. Other innovations were tied to his emphasis on details within his films, such as elaborate period costumes and sets, western music, stunning location shots, and detailed miniature sets. As to specific reasons, I think much of it comes down a confusion between theme and technique. I don t see any reason to question Kurosawa s word that all his films were Japanese and aimed solely at a Japanese audience. However, many writers on the topic saw camera movements or set ups that resembled John Ford, read about Kurosawa s admiration for westerns and American pulp fiction, and added it up into a bland statement of Kurosawa being an essentially Western film maker. And Japanese critics, puzzled about why he was so popular in the West compared to other film makers, decided this is right. He has often been called the most Western of Japanese film directors (and is certainly the best known of them in Europe and America), but though he freely admits influence from Western directors and painters and has based several of his films on major Western texts, he ... This game is played on a rectangle shaped field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by using any part of the body (besides arms and hands) to get the soccer ball into the opposing goal. There are so many things that go into making a soccer game function. Science, math, and many other things help this game run properly. Weight and massplay a big part in soccer. Weight is a forcethat is always directed towards the center of the earth. The weight of an average MLS (major league soccer) ball is about one pound. If the ball weighs more than it s supposed to, then it will be harder to kick. If a player is weighs more, than their kick is going to be a lot harder but, they will be slower than the lighter kids. A soccer ball is hollow and inflated with high pressure air. The weight of the ball is distributed on single point the outside. Most of us think of the weight a collected and acting through a single point called the center of gravity. The center of gravity is the average location of the weight of an object. The center of gravity on a soccer ball is located in the exact middle of the ball. When the ball is in flight the ball rotates around the center of gravity. Friction prevents the ball from rolling on forever. The ball rubs against the ground which causes resistance. That resistance slows the ball down. Eventually, no matter ... • 31. Justification Of Revolt In America Justification of Revolt The American colonists came to North America to part from Britain and its monarchy. They called America the New World, a land for new beginnings. The King, or the Royal Brute of Great Britain, thought of the New World as a token in which he could benefit from. He used America for its cotton, gold, and to show that Britain was the most powerful country. King George III took advantage of the colonists and America s resources. The colonists wished to separate from Great Britain and had enough spirit to be able to win the war. The American colonists were justified in breaking away from Britain and initiating the Revolutionary War because parliament was passing absurd laws and acts, withdrawing colonial freedom, and disrupting the peace among colonial citizens ; however, one may consider that the colonists were the blame for the Revolutionary War happening at all. Parliament had passed many laws without consulting those in the colonies. In result, America was denied the right to colonial currency, Britain cut off trade with America, and the King placed a tax on all paper items. The Sugar, Townshend, and Stamp Acts were all unreasonable and caused disruption among the colonies. King Gustav II of Sweden spared no expense and demanded the ship be the grandest, most prestigious watercraft ever created. His demand was fulfilled, however due to continuous design changes, inadequate communication, and a stringent timeline, the ship was poorly constructed. As a result, Vasa sunk after sailing only 1,000 yards, perishing 50 men and all of the war supplies. 1.Who is responsible for this catastrophe? In this case, it is difficult to blame one individual for the Vasa catastrophe because several decision makers were involved. Still, King Gustav s numerous design alterations complicated construction and pressured decision makers into accommodating his irrational demands. Additionally, King Gustav did not communicate well with the shipbuilders, admiral, and seamen, and instead solely concentrated on outshining other ships. Therefore, his lacking leadership and communication created confusion and stress, which trickled down and ultimately led to the failure. 2.Were there any inappropriate risks that should not have been taken? The cost of putting a job advertisement on Snagajob.com is about $89. Also, putting an advertisement in a newspaper, such as Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is about $12 per a column inch. So, if the company puts an advertisement in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for a job offer and its four columns wide and ten columns long, then the price will be about $480. Frank was a small kid and throughout his life would always have someone else fight his battles for him. He was always a below average student and eventually dropped out of AJ Demarest High School after only showing up for 47 days. His mother, who could make Frank do anything for her, convinced him to go to business school which ended after 11 months. He knew from a young age that music instead of school was his calling. Frank s interesting in performing music began at a very young age. Growing up he would sing at his family functions or at his parents tavern to get some spare change. When he was finally old enough to get a real job, he began trying to sing on radio shows before his mother convinced a local singing group to take him on. Sinatra never learned how to read music, he would just listen and learn everything by ear. This group would go on to win a contest which awarded them a six month gig singing around the country and on the radio. This band s success landed Sinatra a job as a singing waiter at The Rustic Cabin which was a popular dining spot. During his time here he married his wife Nancy, who his mother did not approve of. • 54. The Tenets Of Behaviorism The term behaviorism referred to the school of psychology founded by John B. Watson based on the proposition that all things which organisms do including acting, thinking and feeling can and should be regarded as behaviors (Staddon, 2001) . And this behavior could be researched scientifically . According to Pavlov, Respondent Conditioning resulted from the association of two stimuli, such as causing dogs to salivate at the sound a tuning fork. Consequently, Skinner developed Operant Conditioning where the Stimulus Response association was elicited through selective reinforcement (rewards or punishments) to shape behavior. In this regard, behaviorism assumed that a learner was a passive recipient and responding to environmental stimuli. When applying the tenets of Behaviorism to teaching, Skinner asserted that the learner started off as a blank slate, and then his behavior was shaped via positive or negative reinforcement. Language came primarily though the maturation that the environment triggered off and not through the environment itself. (Brown, H.D. Gonzo, 1995). Cognitive theorists may have wanted to understand how problem solving changed throughout childhood, how cultural differences affected the way we view our own academic achievement , language development, and much more. (Feldman,1995). Unlike behaviourism, cognitivism emphasized that learners were not a programmed animals or passive receivers that respond merely to environmental stimuli; contrarily learners are rational human being and require active participation to ... • 55. The Great White Sharks Of South Africa Getting to Know the Great White Sharks in South Africa When I was a child, I would always watch Steve Irwin on television. Steve Irwin inspired me to want to work in a biological field the way he did. A few years later, I saw Shark Week on the Discovery Channel for the first time and from that point on, I knew that I wanted to research sharks. From there, I became familiar with all the work that OCEARCH has done regarding great whites that are in South African waters and the great whites that frequent Cape Cod waters in the summer ( About OCEARCH ). As I work towards my degree in Marine Biology, I would love the opportunity to have hands on experience. Researching sharks is something that I find to be very important, which I know OCEARCH does as well. I would like to apply for your OCEARCH Great White Shark grant to travel to the coast of South Africa so that I may research the great white sharks in the surrounding waters. I believe that I would qualify for OCEARCH s grant because I understand the importance of studying great white sharks, I have done my research on the travel that I need to go to South Africa, and lastly the science community would benefit from my work. There is a need for shark research to be done worldwide ( Science ). Even though South Africa is a popular spot for ecotourism, tourism to areas of ecological interest (typically exotic and often threatened natural environments), especially to support conservation efforts and observe wildlife, there is ... • 56. What Are The Seven Elements Of Art One piece of artwork that I did that has all the seven elements of art was my animal watercolor painting. The seven elements of art are line, shape, color, value, form , texture, and space. Somethings that these elements help with are make the artwork more realistic. It can also help how realistic the details are and how it looks three dimensional. The first element I used was line. Line helps you make a outline of what you are trying to make. Line is the edges of a figure and it can be made with a pen or pencil. A line can help how realistic you artwork can look. If you make a line that is behind you figure at a certain angle it can make the shape seem real. Line is very important to a drawing because it can show a lot of detail. Another element that can help a piece of artwork is shape. Shape is a area enclosed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Texture can also help your artwork feel more realistic. I used texture in my watercolor by painting little hairs on the wolf s body to show how it might feel. It might feel like a furry rug or soft hair. Texture can help with your artwork because it can help the viewer imagine the object in their mind. The final element is space. Space can help show where the object is and you can also tell the setting from the space around it. Space can also help your artwork because it can give detail about the story behind of the artwork. In my watercolor painting the the space I used was to show the the wolf was all by itself. It also shows how the land is barren and their is nothing on it. The Seven Elements of Art can help your pieces of artwork. Some examples of elements that can help are texture. Texture can help by helping the viewer imagine how the object feels. Another element that can help us form. Form can help your drawing feel more three dimensional. All the seven elements help your artwork feel more realistic and help improve your art ...
