Zain Africa International BV S Acquisition by Bharti Airtel
Introduction
Bharti Airtel Limited was very keen to enter the African markets and the organization took
considerable time to find an indigenous partner who was willing to facilitate its entry into African
territory. Having previously gone through unsuccessful rounds of negotiations with MTN Group
Limited, one could say that when Bharti Airtel identified Zain Africaas a potential target for
acquisition, it was probably ready to walk an extra mile to see the deal through. An offer of
US$10.7 billion for the acquisition of Zain s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We expect special tariff/data plans for connecting Indians in India and Africa, like those offered
previously for the Middle East and USA, considering increased migration from India to Africa and
increasing competition in Africa for greater share of the huge subscriber base.
As the next step, Bharti needs to negotiate a venture like the Indus Towers with Vodafone and MTN
to attain targeted EBITDA margins.

The Creative Industry Labor Market
DESIGNER WANTED! We are looking for a designer with a great quantity of energy to add to our
team [...]. The required skills are: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Social Media Campaigns,
Communication Campaigns, Interfaces Development (Web Apps), Typography, Motion (After
Effects), Vector Illustration, Digital Painting [...] . The quotation above is an excerpt from a
vacancy notice aimed for designers to work in a company which provides internet services.
Reading the several skills the employer requires from the designer, the following questions arise:
Does the creative industry labor market belong to multidisciplinary designers? Is being
multidisciplinary is something mandatory to a designer? Must the multiple skills be taken into...

Indeed, the working scenario where design centers on is quite complex and unpredictable. Inserting
knowledge in a context of totality, such as the environment in which humans interact, allows the
complexity of this environment to be seen in a globalized and interdependent way, retrieving the
sense of unity that has been lost by the values of specialness; complex because, as stated by Couto
et al. (2004) design focuses at the human and the environment in which it interacts, requiring an
accurate vision of the designer to understand the complexity of human and environment interaction;
unpredictable, because, according to Wyatt (2014), unlike other professions who walk in a more
usual speed, in the creative industry, changes occur at the speed of light, as technology and fads run
by leaps and bounds. As it is stated in Designing for the 21st century: Interdisciplinary questions and
insights: Change is ever present, as the challenges of technology, environment and society demand
our continuous attention and we struggle with issues of complexity, we see that the science, social
science and humanities need a means of working together. Design research provides the
orchestration, the systematization and visualization to bring together the disciplines to build
bridges to the future. Such research will provide the evidence and insights upon which professional
designers, industry and society can create

The On The Tom Green County Juvenile Probation Resources...
Programs and Services On the Tom Green County Juvenile Probation Resources website, I found
quite a few programs and services that I believe would work for adolescents who are either at
risk or already in the juvenile justice system. The programs and services are: the High Sky
Children s Ranch, The West Texas Boys Ranch, The Concho Valley Home for Girls, House of
Faith, The Youth Advocate Program, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. The reason I
believed these types of programs and services would work is because they all include some type
of support, counseling and/or mentoring for adolescents and juveniles. The types of programs and
service are extremely important because they offer adolescents and juveniles resources they may
not be receiving at their home life. The programs and services I found to be more politically
motivated are: The Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) and The Texas Juvenile
Justice Department. The reasons I find them politically motivated is because they are programs that
are ran by the government, so they focused more on making money rather than offering help. They
may offer help, but only to a certain extent due to the many regulations they have abide by.

Ancient Rome And The Roman Empire
At its height, the Roman Empire was the most extensive political and social structure in western
civilization. The remains of this empire can still be seen today. The empire was filled with
advanced people and technology for its time. The Roman Empire has rich history, helpful
geography and resources, provinces, an advanced government, and unique people and culture.
Ancient Rome can be divided into three main parts. The Roman Monarchy, the Roman Republic,
and the Roman Empire. The Romans believed that a man named Romulus founded the city of Rome
. The legend is that Romulus and his twin brother Remus were cast away in a basket on the Tiber
river. A she wolf found them and gave the twins her milk. The farmer and his wife, owners of the
she wolf, found the twins and raised them from there. Later in an argument, Romulus killed
Remus and then founded the city of Rome on April 21,753 B.C. Historians still do not know
how much of this legend is true or if it is true at all. Either way, Rome is named after Romulus.
The Roman Republic moved on to the Roman Empire because of a man named Julius Caesar.
Julius Caesar was a cunning politician who centralized government around himself. The people of
the Roman Republic feared that Caesar would make himself king and end the republic. Due to
this fear, Julius Caesar was stabbed to his death outside of the senate building on the Ides of March
on March 15, 44 B.C. The concept of one man ruling continued with Julius Caesar s

Impact of Alcohol Use on American Society Essay
Alcohol is a drug that is classified as a central nervous system depressant. There are three forms of
alcohol, beer, wine and distilled spirits. Alcohol is one of the most commonly used drugs in the
United States and has more adverse effects that most other drugs combined. There are many aspects
to consider when thinking about alcohol as a drug. There are many myths surrounding alcohol,
including who uses it, what its effects are on users, social and sexual situations and the amounts
people drink. The vast majority of the American populationuses alcohol and in many various ways
and this also causes different effects. Alcohol is also has a great causation in crimes committed by

A myth that many college age users like to believe is that there are numerous ways we can speed
up the process of becoming sober. These commonly believed methods include, drinking coffee,
taking a cold shower or exercising. There is only one way that a drinker can sober up and that is
to let the liver breakdown the alcohol. This process can differ in people depending on their
individual rate of metabolism, but overall this is a slow process that requires a significant amount
of time and cannot be sped up by outside means. Another commonly accepted myth and one that is
often encouraged is that drinking hard liquor will get you drunk faster than drinking beer. In fact,
the amount of alcohol in one beer is equal to the amount of alcohol in one shot of hard liquor,
(U.S. Department of Health, 1977). Although many of these myths would be beneficial to our
drinking experiences, they are all in fact false and users of alcohol must be aware of them.
Alcohol is one of the most commonly used drugs in the United States today. Sixty three percent of
Americans over the age of 18 said they have consumed alcohol at least once in the past year,
(National, 2001). A survey, conducted by the Core Institute, of 55,026 college students, ranging
from freshmen to seniors to non seeking degree students, from across the United States showed that
84.1% of students consumed alcohol at least once a year and that 72.1% of students

Nurses Preparedness For Women Exposed With Intimate...
Summary In this article, the authors discuss nurses preparedness to identify and provide nursing
care to women exposed to intimate partner violence. This was a quantitative experimental study that
involved a questionnaire that measured nurses preparedness when encountering with women
exposed to IPV. The questionnaire was designed to identify them as the nurseand the interventions
the nurses would provide to the women. Of 174 primary health care centers, 40 were randomly
selected to participate in the study, and only one declined to participate. The nurses in each PHCC
were contacted by telephone and received verbal and written information about the study. The data
was analyzed using statistical software, STATA, and Pearson s chi square test was used to test the
statistical significance of the findings. Questionnaires were distributed to 277 nurses and the
response rate was 69.3%.
Critical Analysis Eva M Sundborg, Nouha Saleh Stattin, Per Wändell and Lena Törnkvist were
the authors of this article; however, the credentials of the authors and researchers are not stated in
the article. The title of the article contained both the study population, which is nurses, and the key
variable, which is the preparedness to care for women exposed to intimate partner violence. The

Jews During The 19th Century
Jews have a fairly long history in Hungary. It is believed that the first Jews settled in Hungary in
the 2nd century CE (World Jewish Congress). In 1251 there was a Jewish charter that put all the
Jews under royal protection. After this, there was a large number of Jews that moved to Hungary
which led to the development of historical communities. After the annexation of Hungaryby the
Ottoman Turks, Jewslived in peace, as long as they paid taxes. Along with the expulsion of the
Ottoman Turks, the Jews disappeared from Hungary. It was not until the 18th century where

Over 400,000 Jews were moved from their homes to ghettos. In May 1944, deportation began.
Some Jews escaped to Romania, neutral countries, or Budapest. Zionists helped Jews by
providing fake passports, food, clothing, and places to hide. Unfortunately, Budapest did not
always remain a safe haven for Hungarian Jews. The majority of these Jews were sent to ghettos.
By January 1945, nearly 98,000 Jews from Budapest had died on marches to Austria. At the end of
the war, about 565,000 Hungarian Jews perished (Jewish Virtual Library).
Post Holocaust, about 250 Jewish communities were reestablished, mainly in Budapest. The
Hungarian government abolished their anti Jewish legislation. In December 1948, the Jewish
communities were recognized, guaranteed religious freedom, and were promised financial support.
At this time, the Zionist movement started building schools and youth groups. Diplomatic relations
with Israel were established in 1948, which led to a large group of Hungarian Jews immigrating to
Israel.
The rise of the Communist Party led to the closure of many Jewish institutions and the arrest of
Jewish activists. Mass immigration to Israel was not allowed. About 20,000 Jews from Budapest
were forced to leave. The year 1967 marked the end of diplomatic ties to Israel. (Jewish Virtual
Library). In the 1970s, there were only about 60,000 Jews in Hungary, with many of them living in
Budapest. The fall of the communist government ended the

Review Of Eat Mor Chikin
A Chik Fil A Located In Vail
Eat Mor Chikin! Shouts this fast food chain s mascot. The Chik Fil A mascot may not be well
educated, misspelling common known words, but he knows how to get people to eat and enjoy
this new american classic. The Chik Fil A restaurants are one of the most popular eating
establishments in America. People of all ages enjoy their food but people in Vail, Arizona are
feeling left out of this delicious picture.
History of Chik Fil A In 1951, S. Truett Cathy made an outstanding discovery. After fifteen years of
being in the greasy fast food business he found a pressure fryer that could cook a delicious chicken
sandwich in the same time as it would a hamburger patty (Chik Fil A.com). Cathy loved it. He
decided to birth The Chik Fil A. Because of the noteable all chicken menu and new way of
making chicken sandwiches, Cathy came up with the slogan, We did not invent the chicken, just
the chicken sandwich. Believe it or not Chik Fil A is half a century old. The first ever to open
was at Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta. Throughout the seventies and eighties this franchise expanded
their business by opening new restaurants in mall food courts. Finally in 1986 Chik Fil A opened
their very first ever freestanding restaurant. Now as of 2015 there at approximately 1,900 locations
in forty two states (Chik Fil A.com). There are in fact twenty eight different Chik Fil A locations in
the state of Arizona. But, in Vail, Arizona, there are zero of

Master Of Suspense Essay
Alfred Hitchcock the dubbed Master of Suspense created a theory which revolved around the idea
of shock vs. suspense; this theory was called bomb theory . Within this theory, Hitchcock identifies
how if you place a bomb underneath a table and tell the audience of the bomb s presence the
audience will be waiting in anticipation for the moment the bomb goes off. The spectator is
suspended in a state of anticipation and fear; hence, suspense. Following this theory, Under the
Shadow creates Hitchcock s proverbial bomb under the table with a literal warhead crashing
through the roof of our protagonist s home very early into the film. From this point onwards, our
sense of control within the film is lost though the undetonated bomb leaves the film without
exploding, a metaphorical bomb remains which we know has go off at some point. This
metaphorical bomb being an era appropriate, authentic horror with a supernatural being we do not
truly understand.
Overall, Under the Shadow is a film which utilizes horror of both the personal and the natural
which causes it to have striking aesthetic resemblance to Jenifer Kent s The Babadook and Roman
Polanski s Repulsion. These three films deal with the fear of insanity through the use of the other ;
the monsters which plague their minds. However, is there actually a monster or just madness?

Media Stereotypes Essay examples
Media Stereotypes
Media stereotypes are inevitable, especially in the advertising, entertainment and news industries,
which need as wide an audience as possible to quickly understand information. Stereotypes act like
codes that give audiences a quick, common understanding of a person or group of people usually
relating to their class, ethnicity or race, gender, sexual orientation, social role or occupation.
Stereotypes are deeply embedded in every society in numerous ways. The dictionary definition of a
stereotype is one that is regarded as embodying or conforming to a set image or type. Stereotyping
or Labeling is a technique that attempts to arouse prejudices in an audience by labeling the object of
the propaganda campaign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Propoganda may seem like a topic of the past as opposed to a topic in the contemparary field of
studies. This is because propganda was always related to movements like Hitler and Stalin in the
1930s. Even though nothing of that scale exists today, propganda still can be as serious as the
swastika or a minor as a riddle. Its repititive and perasuasive techniques are found in all fields such
as politics, journalism and addvertising. As Anthony Pratkanis and Elliot Aronson point out:
Every day we are bombarded with one persuasive communication after another. These appeals
persuade not through the give and take of argument and debate, but through the manipulation of
symbols and of our most basic human emotions.
F or better or worse, ours is an age of propaganda. (Pratkanis and Aronson, 1991)
Apart from all other forms of media the growth of the internet since the 1990 s has had agreat
impact on the sudden explosion of communications where any kind of messages can be uploaded
uncensored to any kind of audience. For the first time in history people from all walks of live and
from every corner of the world are interacting on a new level. This is a magnificent development
but the negative repercussion is that it works against the people of color and support the

Compare And Contrast Bartleby And The Scrivener
Damn Title Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown depicts the decline in one man s
devotion to religion over the course of a single night. Published nearly 20 years later, Herman
Melville s Bartleby, The Scrivener tells of an estranged scrivener, and his relationship to his boss.
Though vastly different in plot, both stories involve a change in the protagonist s demeanor, and are
left somewhat open ended. Hawthorne and Melville both interject their own ideas throughout their
respective pieces, though both authors fail to give an entirely straightforward conclusion.

they interpret it. The reader s interpretation of both short stories is influenced... Show more content

As the narrator is shown to be increasingly charitable towards Bartleby, the reader is left to
question how far one s moral duties should extend. Though the narrator goes as far as to invite
Bartleby to his home, his decision to move his office can ultimately be seen as the real beginning
of Bartleby s demise, as it leads to his imprisonment. In the story s conclusion, the narrator
divulges a rumor, offering a possible explanation for Bartleby s behavior, Bartleby had been a
subordinate clerk in the dead letter office (...) does it not sound like dead men? (...) Ah Bartleby!
Ah humanity! (Melville 1117 1118). Much like in Young Goodman Brown
, the protagonist is
forever changed, as the recent events have brought him face to face with darkness. Melville
portrays Bartleby as corpse like throughout the piece, and his possible employment at the dead
letter office shows how closely acquainted the narrator has become with death by the story s end.
The narrator s final exclamation is to be seen by the reader as entirely justified, given the grim
nature of the previous events. Melville leaves the story rather open, encouraging the reader to
question the extents of their moral duties, and the effects they may

The Playboy Of The Western World Critique
The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the
University of Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the
intention of comedy were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in
the play, seeming like I was actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt
on this play was very worthwhile, providing both a good laugh and a superb form of
entertainment. The predominant theme of this play was the chaotic father/son relationship. The
message the play is trying to give is that children can go against their fathers, rioting against them
and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a stereotypical message of disobedience is
sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly powerless, unable to act or alter the situation
in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes children can have control over their
parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it. In the play, it was exactly
like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without ever obeying a single one of his
commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have also witnessed this situation in
other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely disturbing for me in The Playboy
of the Western World. The idea of a son killing his father was a terrible idea for my brain to
comprehend during the course of the play. However, I must say

The Tell-Tale Heart Response
The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allan Poe, was a very thought provoking and dark read. The
narrator of the story had some sort of disease that sharpened his senses. He watched over this
man who he loved and cared for significantly. The narrator had absolutely nothing against the
man, except one day he realized that the old man s pale blue eye drove him nuts. There was just
something about the eye that made him tick. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and
so by degrees, very gradually I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid
myself of the eye forever. For seven nights, at midnight, the narrator would go into the old man s
room and put in a lantern. He would then, very slowly and quietly, open the lantern so

American History Is Responsible For The Creation Of...
American history is responsible for the creation of conspiracy theories for famous ideas and
events constructed by the government and made available for the public to either believe or
disbelieve a hoax or phenomena. Merriam Webster defines conspiracy as a theory that explains
an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators. A
popular theory to be defined as an alleged hoax is the end to the Space Race, accomplished by the

Cross Sectional Design
1.Aiken, Clarke, Sloane, Sochaliski, and Silber (2002) were determined to find a linkage

According to Polit and Beck (2004) cross sectional designs is the collection of information or

The Role Of Uk Weaning Guidelines And The Sources Of...
In another mixed method study to explore the knowledge of the UK weaning guidelines and the
sources of weaning advice used by UK first time mothers (Moore et al, 2012), findings were quite
similar to the first study. The use of elements from both quantitative and qualitative research
approaches have been found to contribute positively to the research process (Johnson et al. 2007).
This was the main methodological strength of this study together with its size although there
remains the argument that combining two methods of research can be difficult (Giddings and
Grant, 2006). Gildea et al (2009) support the use of the internet in obtaining information on
weaning. The result showed 86% of the respondents had knowledge about the guidelines that
related to weaning which resulted in later weaning. A significant number of the mothers got
weaning information from different places, but health visitor advice had the most influence on the
26% of the mother s decision to wean, while the internet attributed to 25% and books to 18% of
mothers. Nevertheless, 56% still attributed the source of conflicting advice to come from healthcare
professionals. This supports findings by Moore et al (2012) who found that Health Visitors were
inconsistent with the advice they gave on weaning guidelines and recommendations. This is despite
the fact that they are the largest number of health professionals who give advice to postnatal
mothers in the UK. This inconsistency in advice also contributes to

Fuller s Business Ethics
Ethics and Responsibilities go hand in hand. With businesses that develop products for the public,
the decision making process is crucial. Before one can make a judgement for what is right and
wrong, one must understand to a degree the consequences of those actions.
Businesses have responsibilities for the product they manufacture and distribute, but how much
responsibility is too much. In this perspective, we will examine the ethical implications of product
manufacturing of Product Quality, Pricing, and Labeling and Packaging.
With Product Quality, the responsibilities of a business are simple. Develop a low cost, high quality
product that withstands the normal limitations of it s use. Quality can be defined as doing the ...

This would violate the standard of product quality, which is to create a high quality, low costing
product as mentioned earlier.
To further illustrate, Fuller s Company provides industrial glues, coatings, and paints. If a
consumer buys an industrial glue, and it does not work as effectively due to the addition to the
noxious oil, this is an example of doing the wrong thing. On the other hand, if the glue works as
promised, but the consumer gets sick while using the product the correct way, this is an example of
the right thing, done the wrong way. Lastly, if the glue holds for some, and does not for others, then
the company has failed to do the right thing, the first time, and every time. This would make this
product one of poor quality, and that is unethical.
Companies can avoid unintentionally creating poor quality products, and create a peace of mind
with their consumers with the use of warranties. Warranties are obligations to purchasers that
sellers assume. (Shaw, 226) The two types of warranties include express, and implied warranties.
Express Warranties are specific promises made by a seller, whether orally, or in print. These
promises usually include a description of items, the assurance that the product will work as
designed, and factual statements. Concerning case 4.3, an example of an express warranty

Sundays and Monday night football, but most sports such as, baseball, basketball, soccer, and
hockey hold their events on any given day of the week. Many Americans arrange their schedules
to either attend or watch these events on television. You could even go so far as to say
Americans idolize athletes and sports stars, considering the billions of dollars spent on sporting
events and merchandise. We?re very proud of sports and proudly wear our favorite team or player
across our chests, on our heads, and display logos on our cars and in our houses.... Show more

Super bowl Sunday has become an unofficial holiday, on which many people miss church to
watch. In attempts to encourage people to attend church on this day, churches are having super
bowl parties that many people would rather not go to because of the lack of alcohol. There are
many people who don?t attend church at all during football season. A number of people even
tithe their sport. Not in the traditional offering that you would give in church, but through ticket
sale, merchandise, and concessions at events. The NCAA Basketball play offs held their second
round games on Easter Sunday. Statistics say, in addition to the people who go to church
regularly, about twenty percent more of the population shows up at church on Easter Sunday. I
believe it?d be fair to say that religion won over sports that day. Sports have become extremely
important in public schools throughout America. Children are being pushed by parents, coaches,
peers, and in some cases, teachers to excel in sports. Hours upon hours a week are spent
practicing for some form of competition. Years ago, all this time was spent with family, at church,
or a combination of both. For example, how many times in the past few decades has a student
said, ?Sorry coach, I can?t go to a game or practice because I have church?. Schools used to not

The Universe and It’s Phenomena
The Universe and It s Phenomena The universe is an unknown place. Most of it has not been
explored. Some things are known, however. Scientists know a lot about things like the Big Bang
and our Asteroid Belt. Some of the universe s natural phenomenons are yet to be discovered. This
article will explain some of them and why they happen. In the year 1929, Edwin Hubble made a
revolutionary discovery. He learned that the universeis expanding. He saw that the galaxies were
each moving away from us. Edwin knew that for one instance of time, almost 14 billion years
ago, all of the mass of the universe was contained in a single spot. There had to have been a huge
explosion that pushed all the matter away. This explosion is known as the Big Bang Theory.
(www.science.nasa.gov) NASA is now monitoring the expansion of the universe in spacecraft
such as the Hubble Space Telescope and Spitzer Space Telescope. A goal of these telescopes is to
decide if the universe will expand forever, or if it will go backwards and return to the original spot
of the universe. (www.science.nasa.gov) What did the universe look like when it was born? To
certain theories, if we went back and watched the Big Bang, we would see ... a sea of neutrons,
protons, electrons, anti electrons (positrons), photons, and neutrons (www.science.nasa.gov.) With
time, the universe would cool and neutrons would either decay or combine with other things. The
universe would look opaque. This is because

Why Negotiating For Freelancers Is Important
I started freelancing full time about 2 years ago with the misguided aspirations of living the
good life . You know, sauntering into coffee shops all lackadaisical like dropping beautiful prose
while collecting the big bucks. Then reality set in as I had to find a way to pay for rent, and all
of my other unsexy responsibilities. Being a freelancers is tough in the sense that you have to
up your hustler skills, but truthfully, I can t imagine myself going back to traditional
employment, ever. The freedom is like meth (or so I m told as I ve never tried it). That said, I
had to hit my head against the wall to make a name for myself and it wasn t easy. One of the
biggest skills I learned to master was the art of negotiation, which is what I want to share with
you today. The reason why negotiating for freelancers is so important is that as you gain more
skills, you have to up your pricing to reflect that. One of my first major negotiations happened
when I negotiated a $2000 assignment to $3500. It wasn t as difficult as you might think. Know
your worth Truth is, society likes to make negotiation out to be this big soul draining addair that
only a few can achieve. It isn t. Negotiating is simply a business function that is necessary in all
industry in freelancing even more so. What makes it easier is when you know your worth. If you
re the baddest marketer in your city, own it. Confidence is a huge differentiator when it comes to
upping your pay. In my case, a client was

Michelangelo Creation Of Adam Essay
Michelangelo is without a doubt, one of the most brilliant artists in history. One of his most
famous masterpieces occupies what is probably the largest canvas on earth: The Sistine Chapel.
Each fresco contains a glimpse of creation using nine separate stories from the book of Genesis.
Yet the most famous image from this 134 ft. x 45 ft. painting is The Creation of Adam. The
image of God reaching down to Adam is so commonplace that many forget, or do not know, how
controversial this portrayal of the divine was in the 16th century. God was a divine king seated
upon a throne who wore royal robes, a papal crown, and held a scepter in his hand. This was not a
God that conveyed a sense of warmness, intimacy, or desire for human contact. God was... Show

Interestingly, the elements that represent this in the painting are God s clothing, nearness to Adam,
and the extended finger. God is no longer clothed in royal finery, but wears a garment that offers no
protection or distance from the created. By adding how close God is to Adam, a strong sense of
human intimacy emerges. Yet the most significant feature of this painting is the outstretched finger
of God. Through touch, God imparts life to Adam. Through touch, Adam receives not only physical
breath, but spiritual breath. Michelangelo himself said, To touch can be to give life. This was true
of his famous painting, but is also true for humanity today. (Keltner)
Research has shown how vital touch is to human development. At the University of California,
Berkley, professor of psychology Dacher Keltner, has conducted extensive research on the science
of human touch. In a lecture to his students, Keltner said, In recent years, a wave of studies has
documented some incredible emotional and physical health benefits that come from touch. This
research is suggesting that touch is truly fundamental to human communication, bonding, and
health. (emphasis mine)

Personal Code Of Ethics Essay
Should a person be allowed autonomy over the safety of public health? Does the CDC have the
right to detain an individual based on the safety of the general public when the individual is thought
to have a certain illness that has built up a resistance to antibiotics? This means that anyone who
comes in contact with this individual could possibly contract the disease that antibiotics can t fix.
When I thought about this ethical dilemma I actually had a hard time deciding which way I would
go in my ethics because my code has reasons both would cause a dilemma in my ethical thinking.

They were acting on behalf of the general public and were doing what the job requires of them.
So when working at the CDC I imagine that job comes with its own code of ethics and that job
would require a code that states working for the good of the public even if it means detaining
someone and restricting a person s freedom for the better good of the public. Because in this
class everyone learned that a person can be bicodal and this allows someone to have multiple
codes in their lives (Morrison, 2009). Isolating an individual goes against my personal code of
ethics because a person s freedom is important to their way of life but as a professional I need to
worry about my employees and individuals in my care. So yes in my professional opinion the
CDC acted ethically in detaining an individual thought to have a communicable disease. This
agrees with my code on courage, caring, loyalty and integrity. I this goes a bit towards paternalism
but at sometimes professionals do know what is best for well being of the public and this is
definitely not ensuring patients come first and making them comfortable and satisfied but this

Health Care System Is Experiencing A Vital Crisis
Currently in the United States, the health care system is experiencing a vital crisis. The U.S. is
ranked the highest paying health care system per capita out of 10 countries including, Australia and
the Netherlands. We are also ranked worst in patient quality and outcome (Bernstein). Americans
without health care are more prone to life threatening health problems and the life expectancy of an
uninsured individual is about 60 years. Shorter life expectancies are due to health conditions such
as high blood pressure and unhealthy lifestyles that could have been controlled if they had health
insurance. Numerous health care reforms have been put into place to improve the system s
efficiency. However, the reforms have made a weak impact on changing the system. The three
major problems of the U.S. health care system are high cost, low accessibility, and poor patient
quality and outcome.
The biggest problem that the United States health care faces is the skyrocketing prices. The United
States health care prices have been rising for decades and are still continuing to escalate. The U.S.
has the highest health care prices in the world, even higher than other countries with impressive
standards of living such as Germany, and the UK. Studies predict that the health care could
possibly consume 50% of the Gross Domestic Product by 2082 (Darling, 2009, p. 89). With the
costs steadily rising, the result will be millions more people without health insurance on top of
those who are

entering an established market it may be tempting to price at a comparable level to other cheeses.
Factoring in production costs, target market, customer demand and life cycle, the pricing is a
matter of balance. A strong promotional push will encourage a consideration to employ penetration
pricing by entering the market at a relatively low price to gain a high market share.
Promotion Promotion should be mainly above the line with television advertising aimed at the
target segment. Advertising for the grey pound could be specific in late morning and early
afternoon slot relating to healthy activities such as home improvement, cooking and gardening
whilst the young professional could be targeted during the earliest sections of breakfast shows and
prime time in the evenings. Below the line advertising should include magazines which have been
identified as being the preserve of the segments. Strong lines of communication must be developed
with the retailer in readiness for promotional events

Business Law Assignment 3.1
Task 1 A fixture is defined as an asset that is fixed or installed to land or building so as to become
a fundamental part of that land or building. An item is deemed to be fixed to property or
building if it is permanently attached to the structure using bolts, screws, nails, or cement.
Fixtures are intended to serve a particular purpose. For example, shelves are fixtures intended to
assist with proper arrangements of items in a shop (Aalberts, 2015). In the case of Goodprice Pty
Ltd, the new extractor fans to be installed by the tenant in his restaurant would be considered as
fixtures. The fans would be fixed on the ceiling, possibly with the help of bolts and screws.
Besides, they would have a purpose: to prevent the ceiling from smoke damage. Their removal
might also damage the ceiling, which is part of the building (Beaty, Samuelson and Bredeson,
2013). At the end the 5 year tenancy period, the restaurant tenant will have the right remove the
extractor fans. The tenant holds removal rights since he installed them at the request of the landlord.

Examples Of Conspiracy In Angels And Demons
The title of this project, conspiracy, is taken from Dan Brown s novel Angles and Demons. The
story of the novel is shown to be a result of the conspiracy formed by a member of the Church
society. In a dictionary, the word conspiracy is defined as the act of secretly planning to do
something that is harmful or illegal . However, this is not it. Conspiracyis formed to achieve goals
which are made not by the people, but by their greed for power, wealth and respect. In Angels and
Demons, power is shown to be the main reason for the formation of conspiracy. Dan Brownhas
successfully highlighted in his book the kinds of people who form conspiracies. One can see that
the people who are apparently the most trustworthy, respectful and who happen to have a chance
in attaining power are the ones who secretly make plans to harm those who stand in their way of
achieving success . In this novel, such person is shown to be Carlo Ventresca, who is the... Show

Myths And Myths Of Myths
Myths are generally known to be the reflection of ancient people s thoughts and vision about the
world which surrounded them. Due to this assumption, the word myth appeared to have a number
of connotations, which denote a contemporary man and his thoughts and vision, i.e. the way he
perceives this word and reality. The scholars whose expertise fall within the field of myths and their
investigation claim that myth as a genre of literature reflect the humanhistory from the point of view
of the culture which took place. In other words, the phenomenonof myths serves as a connection
between ancient and contemporary generations. Under these conditions, there are the questions
which are necessary to answer to evaluate and understand more profoundly the nature of myths and
the function they perform for the culture of this or that people. As a consequence, this paper regards
the basis why myths were once created; the possible functions they serve; and the scholars attitudes
towards the nature of myths. Since myths are supposed to be one of the most ancient type of
culture, including literature, there had appeared a great variety of the works dedicated to their
investigation. One of the most outstanding analysis of myths nature belongs to Frankfort et al.
(1946) and establishes the clear and concise understanding of why people created myths and what
they served for. At all events, as a consequence, the authors of the book The Intellectual Adventure

The Regulation Of Care Provision For Looked After Children
Within this assignment I will evaluate the regulation of care provision for looked after children.
I found that two organisations supports and give guidance to schools and services which
support looked after children (OFSTED and the Care Quality Commission). They are both
similar but highly different in which institutes they inspect. I have analysed the OFSTED report
for Pool Hayes Arts and Community School. This showed and supported the roles and
responsibilities I have explained in my previous M2. Firstly, OFSTED (The Office for Standards
in Education, Children s Services and Skills) regulate and inspect children s social care agencies
and organisations, such as, care services for new born babies to schools and colleges which
protects children and young people. Also, residential care homes, youth clubs, etc. would be
regulated by OFSTED to review the quality of care they contribute to protect children and young
people s welfare. Following on from the quality, OFSTED look for implementation of legislation
which protects and promotes children and young people s prosperity. OFSTED ensures
organisations provide high potential care quality for children and young people, including keeping
them safe, healthy and wealthy. They promote this by allowing the child to have the right to enjoy
and achieve the best lifestyle there are able to receive. Employees have to contribute to the quality
to improve on the child s wellbeing. This is accomplished by developing the children and

Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility in the Music...
Since the music industry is quite diverse it is consequently impacted by a great number of ethical
issues. The issues span across the production side to the consumptions side of music. They issues
deal with things as inconsequential as lip syncing to the breaking of laws when stealing music.
Although there are a lot of different areas that can be examined within the industry, the most
important ethical issues fall under the category of compensation.
The first major aspect of compensation is in regard to royalties. Royalties are defined as an amount
of money that is paid to the original creator of a product, book, or piece of music based on how
many copies have been sold according to Webster s dictionary. Artists... Show more content on

The question then became Just because we can get the music we want without paying for it,
should we? (Tyson, 2000, p.1). This issue of illegal downloads, which is also referred to as
piracy, has been a hot topic ever since the introduction of Napster. According to Recording
Industry Association of America In the decade since peer to peer (p2p) file sharing site Napster
emerged in 1999, music sales in the U.S. have dropped 47 percent, from $14.6 billion to $7.7
billion (RIAA, 2014).
When people illegally download music they are robbing the artists of royalties. The fact that
people are increasingly stealing music begs a further question of how slippery this slope is. Will
the music industry stop making money altogether because people can just find a way to get their
music illegally? While this is the far extreme it is important to note the far reaching implications
of what this could mean for the industry. Striking losses of profits would cripple artists and
everyone involved in producing or distributed the music. An example of how the music industry
is losing profits on royalties is evident with the declining us of CDs. Today, the CD is becoming
an outdated and inferior product that only true fans of an artist will seek out. Another example is
when music is being purchased legally online. When consumers purchase online music it is almost
always going to be a lower cost. As a consumer, you have the option to just buy the songs you like.

Research Paper On The Storming Of The Bastille
What was the Storming of the Bastille?
The Bastille was a medieval fortress located in the east of Paris. It was built in the 14th century to
guard the entrance to Paris. It had eight towers linked with walls, all 100 feet high. A moat that was
more than eighty feet wide surrounded the fortress. During the 17th and 18th century, the Bastille
was used as a prison for those who were thought to doubt the government and its power. The
Storming of Bastille took place on July 14, 1789. A large mob of Parisians, mainly consisting of
craftsmen and salesmen, marched to the tower in search of weapons and prisoners. The crowd,
however, did not impress the few guards on duty at that time. Some representatives of the mob

not many prisoners being held during the Storming of Bastille; only seven were freed. On the night
of the storming, 800 men began to destroy the castle. This was the first violent act of the French

Child abuse. A term that most of us believe to be aware of, but one ought to wonder, are we

abuse ? How common is it in countries less developed? Is it common in the United States? Does it

Cancer In The Elderly Essay
4 Ways to Stave Off Colorectal Cancer in the Elderly
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer affecting the elderly. Thankfully, there
are a number of actions seniors can take to prevent this disease. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle
and getting regular screening tests, seniors have a better chance of preventing colorectal or colon
cancer.
1. Adhere to Dietary Guidelines
One of the best ways to prevent colorectal cancer is to follow a healthy diet. Elderly people at risk
for cancer should limit their intake of red meat and processed meats, which means less bacon,
bologna, hamburgers, or steak. This might be a tall order for some meat aficionados, but it s
believed that carcinogens may form when red meat is cooked at high temperatures. Red meat also
contains iron, which can damage DNA. For seniors who eat red meat daily, cutting back to several
times a week is a must.
After cutting down on red meat consumption, it s important to replace unhealthy foods with
nutritious alternatives. Beans are a good substitute for meat, and fruits and vegetables are an
essential part of a preventative diet. People who primarily eat plant based foods are less likely to
develop colon cancer.
2. Regular Screenings

www.dictionary.com defines a monolith as something, such as a column or monument, made
from one large block of stone. This is first portrayed in the first couple of scenes in the movie. As
the gorilla finds the monolith, picks it up and uses it as a weapon to kill prey. Next, when the
gorilla throws the bone up in to the air, it becomes a space ship over Earth. As I researched, this
was the longest time change in history of all the movies. Considering the bone became the
spaceship just shows that even though technologically people have progressed, the minds still
stayed relatively the same with the same goals. As a saying my mother once told me, Men are
like children, but when they get older they change their toys. I find this to be relevant in 2001 as
the time change only portrays a different time period but more or less the same content. Because
the movie is very slow paced, in my opinion, it gives the viewer a lot of time to question everything
that is happening and make sure to understand everything. There is not much conversation there
either which is not serving as another distraction. Makes the theme of the movie very clear. Stanley

Mrs. Dalloway And Septimus Smith
In Mrs. Dalloway Clarissa and Septimus smith have various similarities. Clarissa eventually
triumphs over her issues/depression in her life unlike Septimus that eventually loses and
commits suicide. Mrs. Dalloway an upper class 50 year old British wife the central character of
the novel, struggles constantly to balance her thoughts and world. Her world consists of a
fabulous lifestyle such as fine fashion, parties, and aristocratic society, but as she the novel goes
on she looks beneath the glamour of her life and searches for a deeper meaning. Looking for
privacy, Clarissa has a tendency toward introspection that gives her a capacity for emotion. She
is always concerned with appearances around other people and no matter the pressure she keeps
herself composed. She uses a lot of useless talking and activity to keep her ideas and emotions
safe and locked away, which can make her seem shallow even to those who know her well.
A character similar to Mrs. Dalloway Septimus Smith, Septimus was a World War I soldier. He s
a significant person in the novel because he was one of the first characters to show the horrors of
the war. Still shocked and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder due to the war. Virginia
Woolf doesn t depict Septimus as a hero, but as a sufferer or survivor. Septimus is plagued by
feelings of numbness, has serious hallucinations of his dead friend Evans. He changed so much
from the war: he started out as a boy who loved Shakespeare, Head strong and

Thermal Management At High Heat Fluxes Essay
1.Abstract
Thermal management in the supersonic combustion chambers subjected to high heat fluxes is vital
for maintaining their integrity. At high temperatures ordinary materials cannot sustain the high heat
loads. On the other hand, the prevailing high temperature gradients, necessitates the provision for
expansion to avoid build of thermal stresses for the integration. Hence, thermal management needs a
holistic approach encompassing the areas of material selection, heat transfer and structural
integration. The current state of art research is focused on achieving this by active cooling through
endothermic fuel, which is used as a coolant due to the advantages such as reduced weight and
improved heat sink capacities. Particularly the space applications pose serious limitations on the
weight. 1D thermo structural hand calculations can be easy point to start with to arrive at the
optimized shape of the single actively cooled channel. But the underlying assumptions and owing to
the 1D nature of the such calculations, pose limitation towards understanding the behavior of the
active panel as a whole and achieving the practical integration strategy. Therefore, there is need to
perform 3D CFD and FEA thermo structural analysis of the active panel structure. This paper
extends upon the approach of 1D analytical material selection methodology through weight
optimization followed by rigorous CFD and FEA analysis to understand and device ways for
structural integration for long

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual And Nonjudgmental Groups In The...
Target Population
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community does not just represent one
specific group or individual, LGBT represents every race, religion, ethnicity, and social class. I
would not say that the attributes that cause the such a high increase in suicide attempts and
successful suicides as a unique quality. More like, they are a vulnerabilities that make individuals
feel as if they do not belong. People in the LGBT community feel out of place, not accepted, the
community has an anti gay stigma, harassed, discriminated against and little to no family or
community support (Health People 2020, 2017). The rise in campus resources such as information
on depression, suicide and STD s can related to these vulnerabilities because the LGBT
community is silently calling for help. They are experiencing some type of trouble, some group on
campus, other individuals or just the community is not welcoming to them. The campus might not
have very strict laws against bullying, which is not effectively protecting its students. The
students in who identify as LGBT might not feel like the school has effective programs for them,
or that the campus health is o a save nonjudgmental place for them. I do believe that the LGBT
community can be divided into sections. The different L G B T can each be spilt up into different
sections. Since each group faces their own problem, for example, Lesbians only like women, so
they will utilize different resources then say

What Are The Characteristics Of A Knight
Knights: Knights are honorable, courageous, and the strongest in the kingdom. Knights were
entrusted with the job of protecting all, even the peasants and serfs. All those in training had to
go through many different tasks to become a knight. Starting at the young age of seven they
leave their homes and go to a lord s castle to become a page. As a page, they learn how to ride a
horse, would receive religious instruction, learn how to sing, dance, compose music, and play
the harp. All skills valued in a knight. After about 7 years of being a page, you become a squire.
A squire would spend most of his time with his lord, which was a knight. A squire would care
towards his lord s equipment, take care of his horse, even waiting on his lord at mealtime.
Squires would then become knights, a loyal protector of the kingdom. They would have to do
special preparations before being crowned knight, after doing such, they are then ready to be
crowned. Their lord would take their sword and lightly touch the squire s shoulders with the flat
side of the sword. They are then crowned knight and a protector of the kingdom. Monarchs: The
monarchs were at the top of the kingdom. The one with the most power, respected by all and
never rebelled against. Most of them believed in the divine right of kings, the idea the God had
given them the right to rule. The power of the monarchs actually varied greatly. For example,
some worked hard to maintain their kingdoms, few had enough wealth to keep their armies, and
others had to rely on their vassals to provide enough knights and soldiers. In some places,
especially during the Early Middle Ages, great lords grew very powerful and governed their
fiefs, estates of land in the feudal system, as independent states. In these cases, the monarchs were
little more than figureheads. Peasants: Peasants were at the bottom of the social class. Peasants
were like servants, they would farm their lord s land in order to support the feudal structure. Most
of the peasants cared for the livestock and raised the crops. Every manor had peasants who were
also shoemakers, smiths (metal workers), carpenters, and other skilled workers. Peasant women
would only work in the fields

Cultural Values That Are Instilled Into Society By The...
Within the Japanese culture, one can find several cultural values that are instilled into society by
the Japanese creation myth. The Japanese creation myth begins with a man, Izanagi, and a woman,
Izanami, on a bridge with the task of creating the land of Japan. After this task was completed, the
two walked in opposite directions on the newly formed land until they met in the middle. Once they
met, the womanspoke first and then they procreated. The offspring was a failure and they asked
the gods why their attempts were not successful. The gods told them that it was because the
woman spoke first. The two walked around the land they created and met in the middle once
again. This time the man spoke first and the procreation was successful. After several births, the
woman gave birth to a fire child and she was burnt so severely she passed on to the underworld.
The man chased after her and when he found her decomposing body, he ran in terror. As he
washed away his horrifying experience, several more children were born. One of these was the
ancestor of the ruling familyof Japan. Japan s first ruler met a beautiful woman and asked for her
hand in marriage. Her family granted the ruler the woman and her sister. The ruler refused the sister,
even though she could grant their children immortality, because of her ugliness (Philippi). From
this myth, the reader can gather that Japan values men over women, beauty, and obedience to
authority. It is evident within the creation myth that

Pathogenesis Essay
Pathogenesis It is known that cancer, in general, is a group of diseases that is characterized by the
out of control growth and spread of a group of abnormal cells, which can often times result in
death. More specifically, breast cancer is a hormonally dependent disease, which causes malignancy
in the epithelial cells of the ducts and/or lobules of the breast (Lippman, 2012). Therefore, women
without functioning ovaries, who never receive estrogenreplacement therapy, do not develop breast
cancer(Lippman, 2012). Genomic profiling has furthered research and understanding of this
complex disease process by identifying further tumor subtypes and molecular alterations of the
disease. (Stopeck, 2009). Based upon the specific gene... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They tend to be less responsive to chemotherapy (Lippman, 2012).
The second identified subtype is Luminal B. Luminal B tumor cells are epithelial in origin, have a
different gene expression pattern than that of Luminal A, and have a worse prognosis than Luminal
A (Lippman, 2012). The third subtype is known as normal breast like subtype, which express genes
similar to that of normal breast epithelium and appears somewhat nonmalignant, with a prognosis
similar to that of Luminal B (Lippman, 2012).
The fourth subtype is known as HER2 amplified, which means that these have an increase in the
HER2 gene found on chromosome 17q and often have overexpression of genes that are adjacent to
the HER2 (Lippman, 2012). Before recent research and studies, the prognosis of a patient with such
subtype was quite poor however, with the recent advances in therapy designed to directly target
such, the clinical outcome for these patients is improving dramatically (Lippman, 2012).
Lastly is the basal type. These are typically called the triple negative type in that they are estrogen
receptor, progesterone receptor, and HER2 negative tumors. They are characterized by basal
/myoepithelial cells and tend to be high grade, and express cytokeratins 5/6 and 17 as well as
vimentin, p63, CD10, and alpha smooth muscle actin, and epidermal growth factor receptor
(EGFR) (Lippman, 2012). Patients with BRCA mutations also fall within this molecular subtype.

Health Website Credibility
How To Find A Reliable Health Website
Overview
In the era we are living in, the internet has become the number one source of information (it is the
reason you are reading this by the way). This is due to its convenience and speed. Nowadays you
no longer have to rummage through a whole library to get a book on a topic you want; just a click
on your computer or phone and you are sorted. The trend is no different when it comes to health
matters. It is this tendency that has led to the emergence of consumer health information that helps
persons keep their health in check as well as make wise health decisions for them and their families.

However, take notice that the information you find from whatever website should never replace
your doctor s advice. Don t go telling your doctor that the internet says you should get an injection
and not some damn bitter tablets. Remember that diseases manifest themselves differently in
different people and because the internet has not examined you, it should not your diagnosis. In
essence your doctor s advice should hold the final say. Similarly, do not self diagnose based on
internet symptom description and most importantly, do not start control routines you saw on a
consumer health information website without the knowledge and a go ahead from your

Programs and Services On the Tom Green County Juvenile Probation Resources website, I found quite a few programs and services that I believe would work for adolescents who are either at risk or already in the juvenile justice system. The programs and services are: the High Sky Children s Ranch, The West Texas Boys Ranch, The Concho Valley Home for Girls, House of Faith, The Youth Advocate Program, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. The reason I believed these types of programs and services would work is because they all include some type of support, counseling and/or mentoring for adolescents and juveniles. The types of programs and service are extremely important because they offer adolescents and juveniles resources they may not be receiving at their home life. The programs and services I found to be more politically motivated are: The Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) and The Texas Juvenile Justice Department. The reasons I find them politically motivated is because they are programs that are ran by the government, so they focused more on making money rather than offering help. They may offer help, but only to a certain extent due to the many regulations they have abide by. The Roman Monarchy, the Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire. The Romans believed that a man named Romulus founded the city of Rome . The legend is that Romulus and his twin brother Remus were cast away in a basket on the Tiber river. A she wolf found them and gave the twins her milk. The farmer and his wife, owners of the she wolf, found the twins and raised them from there. Later in an argument, Romulus killed Remus and then founded the city of Rome on April 21,753 B.C. Historians still do not know how much of this legend is true or if it is true at all. Either way, Rome is named after Romulus. The Roman Republic moved on to the Roman Empire because of a man named Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was a cunning politician who centralized government around himself. The people of the Roman Republic feared that Caesar would make himself king and end the republic. Due to this fear, Julius Caesar was stabbed to his death outside of the senate building on the Ides of March on March 15, 44 B.C. The concept of one man ruling continued with Julius Caesar s ... A myth that many college age users like to believe is that there are numerous ways we can speed up the process of becoming sober. These commonly believed methods include, drinking coffee, taking a cold shower or exercising. There is only one way that a drinker can sober up and that is to let the liver breakdown the alcohol. This process can differ in people depending on their individual rate of metabolism, but overall this is a slow process that requires a significant amount of time and cannot be sped up by outside means. Another commonly accepted myth and one that is often encouraged is that drinking hard liquor will get you drunk faster than drinking beer. In fact, the amount of alcohol in one beer is equal to the amount of alcohol in one shot of hard liquor, (U.S. Department of Health, 1977). Although many of these myths would be beneficial to our drinking experiences, they are all in fact false and users of alcohol must be aware of them. Alcohol is one of the most commonly used drugs in the United States today. Sixty three percent of Americans over the age of 18 said they have consumed alcohol at least once in the past year, (National, 2001). Within this theory, Hitchcock identifies how if you place a bomb underneath a table and tell the audience of the bomb s presence the audience will be waiting in anticipation for the moment the bomb goes off. The spectator is suspended in a state of anticipation and fear; hence, suspense. Following this theory, Under the Shadow creates Hitchcock s proverbial bomb under the table with a literal warhead crashing through the roof of our protagonist s home very early into the film. From this point onwards, our sense of control within the film is lost though the undetonated bomb leaves the film without exploding, a metaphorical bomb remains which we know has go off at some point. Though vastly different in plot, both stories involve a change in the protagonist s demeanor, and are left somewhat open ended. The Playboy Of The Western World Critique The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the University of Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the intention of comedy were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in the play, seeming like I was actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt on this play was very worthwhile, providing both a good laugh and a superb form of entertainment. The predominant theme of this play was the chaotic father/son relationship. The message the play is trying to give is that children can go against their fathers, rioting against them and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a stereotypical message of disobedience is sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly powerless, unable to act or alter the situation in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes children can have control over their parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it. In the play, it was exactly like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without ever obeying a single one of his commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have also witnessed this situation in other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely disturbing for me in The Playboy of the Western World. In another mixed method study to explore the knowledge of the UK weaning guidelines and the sources of weaning advice used by UK first time mothers (Moore et al, 2012), findings were quite similar to the first study. The use of elements from both quantitative and qualitative research approaches have been found to contribute positively to the research process (Johnson et al. 2007). This was the main methodological strength of this study together with its size although there remains the argument that combining two methods of research can be difficult (Giddings and Grant, 2006). Gildea et al (2009) support the use of the internet in obtaining information on weaning. The result showed 86% of the respondents had knowledge about the guidelines that related to weaning which resulted in later weaning. Because in this class everyone learned that a person can be bicodal and this allows someone to have multiple codes in their lives (Morrison, 2009). • 28. Health Care System Is Experiencing A Vital Crisis Currently in the United States, the health care system is experiencing a vital crisis. The U.S. is ranked the highest paying health care system per capita out of 10 countries including, Australia and the Netherlands. We are also ranked worst in patient quality and outcome (Bernstein). Americans without health care are more prone to life threatening health problems and the life expectancy of an uninsured individual is about 60 years. Shorter life expectancies are due to health conditions such as high blood pressure and unhealthy lifestyles that could have been controlled if they had health insurance. Numerous health care reforms have been put into place to improve the system s efficiency. However, the reforms have made a weak impact on changing the system. The three major problems of the U.S. health care system are high cost, low accessibility, and poor patient quality and outcome. The biggest problem that the United States health care faces is the skyrocketing prices. The United States health care prices have been rising for decades and are still continuing to escalate. The U.S. has the highest health care prices in the world, even higher than other countries with impressive standards of living such as Germany, and the UK. Studies predict that the health care could possibly consume 50% of the Gross Domestic Product by 2082 (Darling, 2009, p. 89). Due to this assumption, the word myth appeared to have a number of connotations, which denote a contemporary man and his thoughts and vision, i.e. the way he perceives this word and reality. The scholars whose expertise fall within the field of myths and their investigation claim that myth as a genre of literature reflect the humanhistory from the point of view of the culture which took place. In other words, the phenomenonof myths serves as a connection between ancient and contemporary generations. Under these conditions, there are the questions which are necessary to answer to evaluate and understand more profoundly the nature of myths and the function they perform for the culture of this or that people. As a consequence, this paper regards the basis why myths were once created; the possible functions they serve; and the scholars attitudes towards the nature of myths. The issues span across the production side to the consumptions side of music. They issues deal with things as inconsequential as lip syncing to the breaking of laws when stealing music. Although there are a lot of different areas that can be examined within the industry, the most important ethical issues fall under the category of compensation. The first major aspect of compensation is in regard to royalties. Royalties are defined as an amount of money that is paid to the original creator of a product, book, or piece of music based on how many copies have been sold according to Webster s dictionary. According to Recording Industry Association of America In the decade since peer to peer (p2p) file sharing site Napster emerged in 1999, music sales in the U.S. have dropped 47 percent, from $14.6 billion to $7.7 billion (RIAA, 2014). When people illegally download music they are robbing the artists of royalties. The fact that people are increasingly stealing music begs a further question of how slippery this slope is. Will the music industry stop making money altogether because people can just find a way to get their music illegally? While this is the far extreme it is important to note the far reaching implications of what this could mean for the industry. Striking losses of profits would cripple artists and everyone involved in producing or distributed the music. An example of how the music industry is losing profits on royalties is evident with the declining us of CDs. Today, the CD is becoming an outdated and inferior product that only true fans of an artist will seek out. Another example is when music is being purchased legally online. When consumers purchase online music it is almost always going to be a lower cost. As a consumer, you have the option to just buy the songs you like. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thankfully, there are a number of actions seniors can take to prevent this disease. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle and getting regular screening tests, seniors have a better chance of preventing colorectal or colon cancer. 1. Adhere to Dietary Guidelines One of the best ways to prevent colorectal cancer is to follow a healthy diet. Elderly people at risk for cancer should limit their intake of red meat and processed meats, which means less bacon, bologna, hamburgers, or steak. At high temperatures ordinary materials cannot sustain the high heat loads. On the other hand, the prevailing high temperature gradients, necessitates the provision for expansion to avoid build of thermal stresses for the integration. Hence, thermal management needs a holistic approach encompassing the areas of material selection, heat transfer and structural integration. The current state of art research is focused on achieving this by active cooling through endothermic fuel, which is used as a coolant due to the advantages such as reduced weight and improved heat sink capacities. Particularly the space applications pose serious limitations on the weight. 1D thermo structural hand calculations can be easy point to start with to arrive at the optimized shape of the single actively cooled channel. Knights were entrusted with the job of protecting all, even the peasants and serfs. All those in training had to go through many different tasks to become a knight. Starting at the young age of seven they leave their homes and go to a lord s castle to become a page. As a page, they learn how to ride a horse, would receive religious instruction, learn how to sing, dance, compose music, and play the harp. All skills valued in a knight. After about 7 years of being a page, you become a squire. A squire would spend most of his time with his lord, which was a knight. The Japanese creation myth begins with a man, Izanagi, and a woman, Izanami, on a bridge with the task of creating the land of Japan. After this task was completed, the two walked in opposite directions on the newly formed land until they met in the middle. Once they met, the womanspoke first and then they procreated. The offspring was a failure and they asked the gods why their attempts were not successful. The gods told them that it was because the woman spoke first. The two walked around the land they created and met in the middle once again. This time the man spoke first and the procreation was successful. After several births, the woman gave birth to a fire child and she was burnt so severely she passed on to the underworld. The man chased after her and when he found her decomposing body, he ran in terror. As he washed away his horrifying experience, several more children were born. One of these was the ancestor of the ruling familyof Japan. Japan s first ruler met a beautiful woman and asked for her hand in marriage. Her family granted the ruler the woman and her sister. The ruler refused the sister, even though she could grant their children immortality, because of her ugliness (Philippi). From this myth, the reader can gather that Japan values men over women, beauty, and obedience to authority. It is evident within the creation myth that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Pathogenesis Essay Pathogenesis It is known that cancer, in general, is a group of diseases that is characterized by the out of control growth and spread of a group of abnormal cells, which can often times result in death. More specifically, breast cancer is a hormonally dependent disease, which causes malignancy in the epithelial cells of the ducts and/or lobules of the breast (Lippman, 2012). Therefore, women without functioning ovaries, who never receive estrogenreplacement therapy, do not develop breast cancer(Lippman, 2012). Genomic profiling has furthered research and understanding of this complex disease process by identifying further tumor subtypes and molecular alterations of the disease. (Stopeck, 2009). Based upon the specific gene... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They tend to be less responsive to chemotherapy (Lippman, 2012). The second identified subtype is Luminal B. Luminal B tumor cells are epithelial in origin, have a different gene expression pattern than that of Luminal A, and have a worse prognosis than Luminal A (Lippman, 2012). The third subtype is known as normal breast like subtype, which express genes similar to that of normal breast epithelium and appears somewhat nonmalignant, with a prognosis similar to that of Luminal B (Lippman, 2012). The fourth subtype is known as HER2 amplified, which means that these have an increase in the HER2 gene found on chromosome 17q and often have overexpression of genes that are adjacent to the HER2 (Lippman, 2012). Before recent research and studies, the prognosis of a patient with such subtype was quite poor however, with the recent advances in therapy designed to directly target such, the clinical outcome for these patients is improving dramatically (Lippman, 2012). Lastly is the basal type. These are typically called the triple negative type in that they are estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and HER2 negative tumors. They are characterized by basal /myoepithelial cells and tend to be high grade, and express cytokeratins 5/6 and 17 as well as vimentin, p63, CD10, and alpha smooth muscle actin, and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) (Lippman, 2012). Patients with BRCA mutations also fall within this molecular subtype. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Health Website Credibility How To Find A Reliable Health Website Overview In the era we are living in, the internet has become the number one source of information (it is the reason you are reading this by the way). This is due to its convenience and speed. Nowadays you no longer have to rummage through a whole library to get a book on a topic you want; just a click on your computer or phone and you are sorted. The trend is no different when it comes to health matters. It is this tendency that has led to the emergence of consumer health information that helps persons keep their health in check as well as make wise health decisions for them and their families. However, take notice that the information you find from whatever website should never replace your doctor s advice. Don t go telling your doctor that the internet says you should get an injection and not some damn bitter tablets. Remember that diseases manifest themselves differently in different people and because the internet has not examined you, it should not your diagnosis. In essence your doctor s advice should hold the final say. Similarly, do not self diagnose based on internet symptom description and most importantly, do not start control routines you saw on a consumer health information website without the knowledge and a go ahead from your ...
