Benefits And Disadvantages Of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence has become ever more popular and gradually integrated into life. From
maximizing business efficiency to a deeper understanding of users perceptions of brands, services,
and products, artificial intelligence (AI) applications are almost limitless. The tourism industry is
also facing the demand for rapid development in the smart travel model thanks to the support of
technology, to create and provide the best service for travelers. With the abundance of data

because we are forced to connect to the electronic system. And for the tourism industry, in the
trend of Artificial Intelligence is able to provide a perfect service with creativity, empathy and

not meant a decline in jobs, in fact tourism jobs are on the up. There are still so many jobs
within travel that are better performed by humans than bots. We are a long way from robots
cooking up dinners in restaurants, making beds in hotels and recommending their favourite
restaurant in that remote village in the middle of nowhere in France. Some experts even seem to
think that AI will create jobs that are far beyond our imagination. Amazon s Alexa and Google are
not going to be the new travel agents just yet, given that almost a fifth of Brits still books their
trips through a travel agent. A personal touch from a real person is still hard to

African Americans During The Nineteenth Century
Lynchings were a real threat to African Americans in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
They created a lot of fear in the African American community especially in this time period.
Between 1882 and 1969, 4,743 people lynchings occurred. In 1882, African Americans accounted
for forty six percent of lynchings. Yet from 1900 to 1910, African Americans represented eighty
nine percent of lynchings.
Lynching was a tool used by white people in this time period to try to control black people, and Ida
B. Wells helped bring international attention to this problem and fight to end it.
Lynching occurred most frequently in the deep southern states. One reason for the lynchings was
the resentment of southern whites when the slaves were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this, the federal government took control of the southern states not yet readmitted to the Union.
In order for the states to get readmitted to the Union, they needed to agree to observe the fourteenth
and fifteenth amendments. Amendment fourteen guaranteed all citizens the same rights without
regard to color. Amendment fifteen made it illegal to discriminate against people based on racein
voting rights. African Americans and northerners held a number of government positions during
this time, and southern whites did not really accept these governments. Southern whites used legal
and illegal means to fight the changes in the status of African Americans.(Royster 7,8)
There were some means that were legal at the time which were used to keep blacks from taking
advantage of their new freedom. Laws were put in place making requirements for voting other
than race, but it was clear these requirements were intended to stop blacks from voting. This was
the time period during which lynchings increased. Groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Knights
of the White Camelia, the Red Shirts, and the White Line participated in lynchings and other forms
of violence and intimidation. People outside these groups also lynched African Americans for a
variety of reasons such as intimidating blacks into not using their rights or punishing them for real
or alleged crimes. (Royster 8) The most likely people to be lynched were black males, although

Goldman Sachs s Stock Price
Goldman Sachs s stock price declined $8.40 from $156.98 as of March 31, 2016 to $148.58 as
of June 30, 2016. This 5% decrease is largely the result of poor performance in an uncertain and
volatile macroeconomic environment. The Company s revenue in the first quarter of 2016
decreased $4.28 billion as compared to the first quarter of 2015, falling from $10.62 billion in
Q1 2015 to $6.34 billion in Q1 of 2016. This 40% decline can be attributed to historically low oil
prices, investor uncertainty regarding the outlook of the global economy, and a sharp decline in
revenue from investment banking activities. While conditions moderately improved in Q2 2016,
the financial sector faces a new wave of uncertainty in the wake of Britain s departure from the
European Union. Following Britain s historic referendum, shares of Goldman Sachsfell 6.1%, as
reported by the Financial Times. As such, the Company has begun cutting costs, most notably by
urging executives to dial back costs associated with travel to clients. Additionally, the Company
has laid off dozens of employees in response to the slowdown in investment banking activities.
The decrease in Goldman Sachs s stock price reflects the uncertainty and turbulence of the
current economic environment. Wal Mart s stock price increased $4.53 from $68.49 as of March

Walt Whitman And Allen Ginsberg s Poetry
Follow your inner moonlight; don t hide the madness. You say what you want to say when you
don t care who s listening. Walt Whitman was a brilliant writer of his time, a writer that created a
voice for the masses to no longer be a mass, but an individual. He was truly a pioneer of his
generation, a revolutionary in thought, and this is not his quote. Due to his paralleled lifestyle to
Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberglearned and drew inspiration from such works as Leaves of Grass to
apply towards his own book, Howl and Other Poems in the 1960s.
The lives that they lived mirrored one another, in a way bringing the two poets closer despite a
century gap. Arduous childhoods were not a foreign concept to either man; neither lived the ... Show

The younger years are the most influential, there is no doubt that Ginsberg stored Whitman s
messages in his heart and kept the morals throughout his life. Proof of this lies in Ginsberg s
alteration of religious views. Kaddish in Judaism is meant as a mourning prayer, a title meant as
reflection of Ginsberg s mothers mental problems. Though Ginsberg s origins were Jewish, he
would convert to a Buddhist belief system which would subsume into his work and themes. Walt
Whitman was a humanist, part of the transition between transcendentalism and realism that played
a major role in the writing of that generation. When Whitman figures Leaves of Grass as the
product of a harmonious identity between the human body, human society, and the natural
environment, a realm distinguished by an intense focus on the material existence of the human
body, and a radical freedom consisting in an unfettered identification of the body with its material
environment (Nineteenth Century Literature Criticism). The belief of letting go of material value
and place a value in self discovery.
In their respective time periods both Ginsberg and Whitman held the same purpose in their poetic
compositions. Whitman would chastise the American society for being money driven. Although the
Civil War had ended and the need for income was desperate, this desire for wealth had flourished
into the American mind set. The opening of the west, the surge of immigration, the melding of a

In order to achieve this success, Wright and Saskiw must first identify the bottleneck in the
process. The MRI machine and the time it takes perform a scan is the bottleneck of the process.
Each scan can have different times associated with it depending on the type of scan that will be
performed. This will limit the capacity of the overall process. For example, a scan without
contrast will usually take 30 minutes. A scan that requires contrast will double that time to 60
minutes. According to exhibit # 2, in order to break even annually, the clinic will have to cover
the total operating expenses of $690,000. That means that the clinic will have to perform 986
scan per year, or approximately 4 scans per day to achieve this goal. Considering that the
equipment in the clinic is capable of much more, this operation should have no problem in reaching
and exceeding its goal daily if proper measures are put into place. Improvements must start at the
beginning of the process, as each step in the process is dependant upon the previous step. One of
the goals of the clinic should be in improving the process flow up to the point that the actual scan
will take place. The clinic must also eliminate much of the variability and uncertainties in the
scanning process which is ultimately making the process difficult to manage. The uncertainties

The Reunion Character Analysis
When I read The Reunion, immediately I was introduced to the character of Hans Schwarz. He
was introduced as being bored, as he was, Half asleep, doodling and daydreaming. (2) I saw him
as being a typical bored boy that you would see in any classroom in America. When Konradin
entered the picture, I immediately saw a difference in Hanz. He was suddenly very attentive and
alert, noticing things that other boys may not have been paying attention to. Hans noticed how
Konradin organized his pencils, and how elegant and polite he was (2). When Hans decides that he
wants to become friendswith Konradin, you see him suddenly become very determined and
motivated. He is now participating in class, and doing so well that people who had thought nothing
of him before, took a new interest. The results startled my teachers. They turned to me with a new
hope and a touching joy. (3) That new motivationhas changed not only how the characters in the
story saw him, but how I saw him as well. I saw that he had a strength of character and
determination that was different from other kids. There was no whining about how long it was
taking to become friends, only Hans trying harder and harder to impress Konradin. During one of
his classes, a teacher calls for volunteers to do a seemingly difficult gymnastics routine, Hans is the
only one who volunteered, simply to make himself stand out to Konradin (3). To me, that shows a
real motivation, because, it takes courage to do something hard in front

Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
The Lottery By Shirley Jackson: A Delightful Village Conducting Civic Activities The Lottery, is a
short story written by Shirley Jackson that uses the most skillful and destructive aspects to
consistently tumble readers expectations about what is going to happen next or even at all. On an

crops, the community stones the winner of the lottery. The lottery, taking place in a small village
that may seem soothing, and a good place to raise a family is not always what it seems to be. The
title along with the first few paragraphs confirm a false sense of hope to the audience. Throughout

These choices are often in response to the strain they are already attempting to cope with, IQ
plays a part in how a person copes with the strain or difficulty in their lives. Additionally,
listening to any member of the White family speak, it is highly visible that many of the members
lack a basic education and that their IQ seems to be extremely low. As we have seen, IQ and
temperament are given prominent roles as factors influencing how a person copes with strain and
thus how insulated he or she if from criminal behavior Having antisocial behavior, the lack of

Meta Tags: solar energy definition, solar panels definition, solar power definition, alternative
energy, solar energy power
Meta Description: Learn how solar panels harness the power of the sun to create a clean and
renewable form of electricity that can save you money on energy costs.
Simply stated, the definition of solar energy is energy that is created by the sun. In the context of
modern usage, solar energy may refer to technology that converts radiation from the sun into
usable energy sources, such as electricity. In essence, solar panels gather energy from the sun s
rays and send the energy out through a process that results in electricity, that can be used to power
homes, machinery and much more. Solar energy is a sought after source of alternative energy
because the sun offers a clean, renewable and cost effective resource as long as it continues to burn
and power life on Earth.
Where It All Begins
Solar energy from the sun begins with a fusion process called the PP, which is short for proton
proton, chain. The PP chain begins with gravity, as the core of the sun is extremely dense due to
immense gravitational forces. The protons from hydrogen atoms in the core resist the force and
create energy, which makes the temperature rise. The energized protons engage in violent collisions
and eventually fuse to each other to create helium. Helium atoms begin to stabilize and release
energy in the form of electromagnetic waves that

Analysis Of `` Mirror `` By Sylvia Plath
Mirror by Sylvia Plath is a short lyric poem written with no rhyme scheme as it is written in free
verse. However, the poem has a nice flow to it, as the words fluctuate gracefully through each
line. Plath heavily uses imagery and symbolism in this lyric poem as this can be observed in the
first stanza. In addition to the types of literary devices Plath uses continually throughout her poem,
she also has set her poem in two locations. In the first verse, the setting is in a bathroom, one can
infer this through her use of imagery. The second known setting is a lake, but as a reader, we do
not know much about this lake. The one thing that is quite odd about this poem is the narrative, as
Plath uses personification to give... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which is the main struggle throughout this poem as the women cannot come to realization that her
youth and beauty is fading. The mirror does not show this mist and reveals to the women all her
blemishes and aging marks. As Plath continues her poem she still relies heavily on literary devices
such as personification to convey her poem. She starts the fourth line with the mirror expressing
how honest the reflection of the mirror may be to the viewer. However, the mirror starts to justify
the harsh reflections by saying it only portrays the truth. Plath then starts to use imagery again as
she vividly describes the room in which the mirror is hung. Although the room is cheerful as it is is
pink, with speckles the mirror experiences sadness. Since faces come in to consider the mirror and
then leave abruptly shutting the light off immersing it in darkness. In stanza two Plath now has
changed the narrator from the mirror to the lake. Since in verse ten it says Now I am a lake.
Plath uses the lake as a metaphor because the lake is still serving a purpose similar to the mirror
by reflecting images back to the observer as well. Since the woman goes to the lake and bends
over me. Searching my reaches for what she really is. The women is searching for herself, she is
attempting to learn more about herself through the reflection. The women then proceed to

Civil Liberties And Civil Rights
Throughout history, society has pushed the envelope with civil liberties and civil rights by tackling
Supreme Court decisions. The attempts to manipulate civil rights and civil liberties occurred
without a clear understanding of neither of the two. While civil rights and civil liberties regulate
collective action, they differ by providing freedoms from the government and by providing
freedoms to act; their shift in history has been denoted by racial and gender discrimination,
nationalization, and rights of the accused. Civil liberties, as denoted in the Bill of Rights, had
limited the government s actions by providing freedoms from the government. Because the
government could not take away the people s rights, the Bill of Rights listed thou shalt nots, which
limit[ed] its [the government s] jurisdiction (Lowi pg. 107). A famous substantive limitation, or a
restriction against what Congress could do, was, and is, the establishment clause, or the separation
between Church and State. As the first component of the First Amendment, the establishment
clause impedes the government s ability from establishing a national Church; consequently, due to
religious persecution in England in the 1700 s, the establishment clause serves to protect the
citizens from the possible tyranny of religion by permitting the accommodation of all religions
through assistance and by not allowing the government to show no favoritism . Therefore, the

1.In Henry David Thoreau s Walden Thoreau says that If a man does not keep pace with his
companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. (Thoreau pg. 930) To Thoreau and
many other Transcendentalists, being your own person or individualism was of utmost importance.
Thoreau s true meaning behind this statement is if someone acts differently than you or in a strange
manner, they may have different values and norms in their life than your own. Those people are
simply reacting in a way that their values deem as morally right. Thoreau greatly emphasizes the

What Is Nonverbal Communication In American Culture
As the Middle East continues to be ravaged by war and extremist threats, over 1.2 million
Pakistanis have been displaced, primarily due to insurgencies in north west Pakistan. After
traveling through Iran and Turkey by foot and bus and finally spending two years in a refugee
camp in Greece, a 40 year old Pakistani teacher, her husband, and two pre teen children finally

has enlisted me to aid them in transitioning to their new home. They self identify as followers of
Islam, observing most all rules of the faith, yet are unadmitted unsatisfied and distant in their faith.
Communication Elements While relating with this mother and her family, an understanding of their

verbal communication shapes the majority of interactions and is especially decisive when working
cross culturally. In this cultural context, heavily influenced by the Islamic faith and the Arab cluster

can also help tremendously with our self esteem and confidence. Exercise can boost our energy
by improving our endurance and muscle strength that can benefit us in daily life situations such

The Pros And Cons Of Air Compressor
Introduction
There are few things more frustrating to a car owner than a flat tire, especially when that flat tire
is discovered just before a big getaway. Remedying a deflated tire can be a chore, but when you
introduce an air compressor to the situation it becomes a whole lot easier.
What Is An Air Compressor?
An air compressor is a device which is used to compress and store air. When the time comes to
release the air into another object, the gas is pushed into its new home with immense force, which
is what makes air compressors so useful when it comes to inflating a car tire in a timely manner.
However, the uses of an air compressor extend far beyond the realm of automobiles. Owing to their
ability to convert electric energy into kinetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cartman Car Air Compressor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F8HI600
The Cartman Car Air Compressor is a heavy duty yet relatively inexpensive air compressor
designed for those who must inflate a couple of tires at a time.
Pros
Powerful
When it comes to sheer power, you re going to struggle to find a better air compressor than this. It
comes fitted with an extra strength motor, which allows for complete inflation in half the time of
the average air compressor.
Quiet
Powerful motors often create quite a bit of noise pollution, but that is not the case with the Cartman
Car Air Compressor. Despite the incredible strength of its motor, it is almost entirely silent when in
use.
Cons
Possibly Too Demanding
The above average strength of this air compressor is great. That is, of course, if your car can
handle it. If your car isn t particularly powerful, you may run into a bit of trouble. Multiple users
of the Cartman Car Air Compressor have claimed that it resulted in blown fuses in their vehicles.
A blown fuse in a car isn t too challenging to fix, but it is a major inconvenience if you re far from
home, so it s best to avoid this compressor until you are absolutely certain that it won t damage your

ViГ±a San Pedro
ViГ±a San Pedro
ViГ±a San Pedro (VSP) was the third largest winery in Chile, with 1998 sales of 37 billion
Chilean pesos (CP). Bonifacio Correa had planted the original vines with French stock in 1865
on the farm in Molina that the family had owned since 1701. For years, VSP wines enjoyed a
reputation of being one of the finest in the country, and the vineyard remained in the Correa family
until 1941. New owners expanded the vineyard so that by 1994, 1,150 hectares1 were in
production, making it the largest single site vineyard in the country. It was, however, barely
profitable and survived primarily by producing inexpensive wines for the domestic market.

CCU had also assumed responsibility for the distribution of VSP wines in all but the most remote

sold had contributed to this increase. In 1996, after three years of losses, VSP finally boasted a
profit of CP 305 million. (See Exhibit 4 for VSP financial statements.)
In 1997, Matias Elton joined VSP as president. A graduate of Georgetown University and
experienced in the U.S. fruit importing industry, he was charged with the task of growing domestic
market share, increasing quality to capture higher margin sales, expanding export sales, and
achieving further economies of scale.
During Elton s first year, another CP 17.7 billion was invested to further increase capacity. New
hectares of vineyards were acquired and planted, storage capacity increased to 36.3 million liters,
and bottling capacity expanded from 22,600 to 25,100 bottles per hour. During the year, VSP s
total production grew to over 44 million liters of wine, 45 percent of which was from its

They may suffer anxiety whilst away from home and worry about their parent, resulting in a
failure to engage in their education. They may not fulfil their potential in life as much of it will
be dedicated to being a carer. Having a parent with a long term illness or disability could also lead
to financial hardship due to lack of employment.
Criminal or anti social behaviour
Whether it is behaviour presented by the child, a sibling or parent it could result in the child
being taken into care. A parent could be absent for a length of time, if imprisoned, causing
emotional stress. The child may perceive the behaviour as normal or acceptable, especially if it is
being carried out by the parents and copy it. It may result in a transient lifestyle, as they could be
re housed as a result of anti social behaviour. This would result in the child suffering a disrupted
education and struggling to form long term stable friendships.
Addictions
The impact of addictions on children can be various. They can suffer health problems, if their
mother had a drug or alcohol problem during pregnancy. They may suffer poverty due to lack of
employment, or if the addiction is gambling.

Treatment for stage I cervical cancer is a simple hysterectomy, unless the cancer is more than 3
mm or has invaded the blood vessels or lymph vessels, in which case a radical hysterectomy may
be needed. Radiation therapy may be used post op if the cancer cells extend to the edges of the
organs that were removed. Recent clinical trials show that a combination of radiation and
cisplatin can be more effective than radiation therapy alone . Stage II cancer occurs when the
tumor(s) have extended beyond the cervix, but not as far as the pelvic wall. Stage II is also
classified into two separate subdivisions. Stage IIA is when the cancer has extended to the upper
portion of the vagina, but not as far as the surrounding tissue, or parametria. Stage IIB occurs when
the cancer extends to the parametrial tissues, but not as far as the pelvic wall. One treatment option
for Stage II cervical cancer is high dose internal and external radiation therapy. As with Stage I
treatment, radiation therapy in conjunction with medication can prove more effective than with
radiation therapy alone. A second treatment option is radical hysterectomy with selective para
aortic and radical bilateral (both sides) pelvic lymph node dissection. Stage III entails the cancer
moving beyond the parametrial tissues, but not into the pelvic area. As with Stage I and II, stage
III is also classified into two separate subdivisions. Stage IIIA indicates that the

the significance of how to avoid tampering with evidence and how to properly collect a sample.
The men and women trainees have classroom tutorials on the subject as well as a hands on

The Last Game vs. Reunion Contrast Essay
The Last Game And Reunion Stories of Contrast What is a father? A father is someone who is
more than just a person who created you. A father is a person who should be a mentor to you
and helps guide you through life. What isn t a father is one who simply puts their children aside
to live their own lives and have no part in their children s life and growth. The stories I will be
contrasting are The Last Game, by Jan Weiner and Reunion, by John Cheever. My first reason of

I think this reason is important because it shows how a father should and should not present a
view of himself to his child. What this reason means to me is that the picture you paint of
yourself makes a drastic impact on what your child thinks of you. It might have a huge effect on
what decisions the child will make in the future whether positive or negative. Mostly this reason
might be what helps the child build a good morale and self esteem. To further prove my reason I
these quotes, from Last Game, Jan Weiner says, I would have liked to have begged my father

The Harmony Between Hunting And Conservation
The Harmony Between Hunting and Conservation In 2014, professional hunter Corey Knowlton,
placed a bid of $350,000 for the chance to go on a hunting trip in Namibia. On this trip Knowlton
had the chance to hunt and kill the black rhino, an extremely endangered species. This hunt and the
ideas that have been used to justify it have started a heated debate on the subject. Animal
conservationists, who support the ethical side of the argument, don t understand the desire to kill a
beautiful animal for sport. They believe that to sell the rights to the unnatural slaughter of an
innocent animal for a trophy sends the wrong message. It seems contradictory and unethical
especially in the name of conservation. Conservation by definition is the act... Show more content

Hunting and poaching is mainly responsible for the initial decrease in the population of black
rhinos specifically. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 black rhinos left in the wild today,
and 2,000 of them live in Namibia (Lavandera, 2015). With such a small population size black
rhinos and rhinos in general are on the brink of extinction. Aldo Leopold s land ethic theory simply
pushes the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or
collectively: the land (Leopold, 1948). He believes in giving animals value as that is the only way
people can be ethical towards it (Leopold, 1948). Conservationists use this theory to support their
argument that it is unethical to bring about death and suffering to an animal for the good of the
species in the long run. Richard Leaky, head of the Kenya Wildlife Service, states that conservation
hunting sends a negative message that it s okay to hunt these animals and kill endangered species
and decreases their value (Melvin, 2015). However, they re there are so many other ways we can
increase conservation efforts, the best way being, exposure to the wonders of wildlife and nature
starting at a young age (Melvin, 2015). This would increase the animals value and make more
people understand and practice the ideas behind the land ethic theory. Not to mention classic
conservationists question the contradictory notion that killing an animal this way is an effort to

Hrothgar Quotes
Beowulf is an epic about a hero who takes on great challenges and adventures. This story dates back
to the Anglo Saxon period. The character Beowulf, encounters the virtues of the Anglo Saxon
culture and beliefs. The traits the he encounters from the Anglo Saxon society are strength, bravery,
courage, and the desire to help the helpless. The character of Hrothgar establishes to Beowulfhow to
be a successful king. Hrothgar is a mentor and father figure to beowulf about how to become a
wise ruler. Hrothgar s old age and experience at being king helps beowulf become a successful
king. Beowulf mentioned right gladly I grant your wishes but first, one word of warning. That
sword you spoke of it will avail nothing with Grendel, whose life is proof against all weapons
whatsoever, wrought by man. You must go for him with your hands, your bare hands (Page 6).
Hrothgar demonstrates experience to Beowulf in this quote by telling him Grendel can t get hurt
by a sword. If it were not for Hrothgar, Beowulf would have gone to fight Grendel with a sword
and probably would have gotten killed. Beowulf showed signs of shock because he thought he
could have not have killed Grendel with his bare hands. This is Hrothgar showing signs of old age
and his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the tension is building up, Hrothgar in gladness grasped him by the shoulder and for his
daring offered him bountiful reward rings and bright armour and treasure manifold (Page 13).
Hrothgar is offering to give him special armour and treasure to help him through the battle. Even
though Beowulf does not accept the offer, this prepares Beowulf physically and mentally to fight.
Confident Beowulf shows Grendel that he does not need anything to help him through the battle
and also shows he is ready mentally to become king. Beowulf eventually defeated the dragons in
the water and showed Hrothgar he is a

Texas Government Structure
Shared leadership includes maximizing all of the human resources in an organization by
empowering individuals and offering them an opportunity to take leadership positions in their areas
of proficiency. With more intricate markets increasing the demands on leadership, the job in many
cases is merely too much for one individual. Governor Patrick is known as the most conservative
and productive assembly of the State Senate in Texas history. Concentrating on strategies to keep
Texas families and communities safe and the state financial system strong, under his leadership, the
Senate voted for legislation to dramatically increase. Governor Patrick is a candid supporter of law
enforcement and, introduced programs that guarantee that every police officer on patrol in Texas
has a bulletproof... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an example of a governor s willingness to work with legislators at quarters and personally
lobbying their bills (Rosenthal, A., 2004). The Texas Legislature is the most powerful of the three
main branches of government. However, none of the three branches is particularly strong, and the
Legislature may be better described as less weak than the other branches (www.laits.utexas.edu).
The legislative branch s status amongst the governing structures of both Texas and the United
States gives it extensive authority. According to the Handbook of Texas Online:
Under the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, the legislature, as representative of
the people of Texas, exercises plenary powers, limited only by the Texas and United States
constitutions and valid federal laws. The legislature may exercise the state s inherent police power
to promote and safeguard the public safety, health, morals, and welfare; and, by nineteenth century
judicial interpretation, is

Theme Of The Revolution In The Minerva
Minvera Mirabal stood as a symbol of revolution to those who wanted to see the downfall of
Rafael Trujillo. Her and two of her three sisters were advocates of the revolution until the sad
ending of the story in which the three sisters were killed in a car crash. But before the ending of
the Mirabal sisters can be discussed, the life of Minerva and the point she developed her political
principles must be addressed. As a young child, Minerva Mirabal always spoke her mind, despite
her mother s wishes that she would bite her tongue but Minerva would argue that women deserve to
have a voice in their country, the Dominican Republic, as well. The time in which this story is set
is during the regime of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, a strict dictator with suffocating policies. Brutal
oppression of actual or perceived members of any opposition was the main focus of Trujillo s
rule. If any person spoke out against Trujillo, they were almost immediately assassinated.
However, young Minerva possessed strong opinions mostly about the treatment of women, but
this would eventually change to become a complete revolt against Trujillo and his policies.
Minerva s coming of age was over a period of time and the biggest change wasn t directly stated
in the novel. Sinita and Lio both played major roles in pushing Minerva to revolt against Trujillo,
Sinita passionately telling Minerva of the cruelties of Trujillo and how it affected her family and
Lio being a young professor at the university that

Sin In The Scarlett Letter
In the Scarlet Letter, Hester was punished for her sin, she had to wear the letter A on her chest.
The A on her chest stood for Adultery, Hester had to stand in front of the town s people where
she was constantly judged by them. James 4:12 reads There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the
one who is able to save and destroy. But you who are you to judge your neighbor ? The bible also
states that whoever is without sinthrow the first stone meaning that everyone sins. If the world
had to wear their sin, people would be judgmental, compare or help others through their sin,
asked for forgiveness yet still have to wear your sin lastly, if everyone had to wear their sin, the
world would be a less secretive place.
Hester committed adultery after her husband left her for a long period of time, she found love
with the towns minister Dimmesdale. She later realized she was pregnant, when walking into the
prison she walked passed a wild rose berry bush which later became pearl. The town s people
treated Hester and pearl so badly dismissing them from the community. Judging others ... Show

In Scarlet letter Hester sin stood out the most because the town s people believed adultery her
sin, to be one of the worse sins, which all humans can agree. If one person has L on them for liar
and another person has M for murderer, in human perspective the guy with the M is the worst. It
s in human s nature to compare and Judge others some use comparing to make them feel better as
a person. We are all a bunch of different looking sinners in the need of the same looking cross and
the same God. To make wearing your sin better than what it is you can help others get through their
sin, encouraging them by saying everything will be alright. If a person sees someone with the same
sin as them, they help one another to get by knowing they aren t

Internet Privacy
The establishment of the internet has connected nearly 3 billion people today, but in today s
society, the word privacy is becoming controversial. We have to deal with this every day when
using social media, forum, checking our emails, even online transaction. The article, An
Encrypted Internet Is a Basic Human Right , published August of 2015, written by Nico Sell who
is the co founder and co chairman of Wickr Inc. implying that laws and policies are the usurping
power used against businesses and consumers. She integrated the ideas of George Washington as
the great leader that empowers people and the establishment of the U.S Postal Service as a civil
liberty. The credibility of the essay is established by Sell contrasted the establishment... Show more

Throughout the article Sell never disengaged with the audience, but enlightened with information
about the many possibility of what these un secure connection can do to society. Another is that she
questions the encrypted future of the internet; what would the laws be, how do we establish trust
with companies, and what should the standards of data collection be ? Today there is no utopia for
a perfect internet expecting everyone s privacy to be un vulnerable. As Sell said, Today, it is
essential to set the ground rules that will govern our networks and infrastructure systems in the
future. (Sell, para. 10) This means having to set ground rules will enable a foundation in creating
strong encryption which is essential for the private web allowing to keep out the prying eyes of the

In the first verse, the setting is in a bathroom, one can infer this through her use of imagery. The second known setting is a lake, but as a reader, we do not know much about this lake. Which is the main struggle throughout this poem as the women cannot come to realization that her youth and beauty is fading. The mirror does not show this mist and reveals to the women all her blemishes and aging marks. As Plath continues her poem she still relies heavily on literary devices such as personification to convey her poem. She starts the fourth line with the mirror expressing how honest the reflection of the mirror may be to the viewer. However, the mirror starts to justify the harsh reflections by saying it only portrays the truth. Plath then starts to use imagery again as she vividly describes the room in which the mirror is hung. Although the room is cheerful as it is is pink, with speckles the mirror experiences sadness. Since faces come in to consider the mirror and then leave abruptly shutting the light off immersing it in darkness. In stanza two Plath now has changed the narrator from the mirror to the lake. Since in verse ten it says Now I am a lake. Plath uses the lake as a metaphor because the lake is still serving a purpose similar to the mirror by reflecting images back to the observer as well. Since the woman goes to the lake and bends over me. Searching my reaches for what she really is. The women is searching for herself, she is attempting to learn more about herself through the reflection. The women then proceed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Civil Liberties And Civil Rights Throughout history, society has pushed the envelope with civil liberties and civil rights by tackling Supreme Court decisions. The attempts to manipulate civil rights and civil liberties occurred without a clear understanding of neither of the two. While civil rights and civil liberties regulate collective action, they differ by providing freedoms from the government and by providing freedoms to act; their shift in history has been denoted by racial and gender discrimination, nationalization, and rights of the accused. Civil liberties, as denoted in the Bill of Rights, had limited the government s actions by providing freedoms from the government. Because the government could not take away the people s rights, the Bill of Rights listed thou shalt nots, which limit[ed] its [the government s] jurisdiction (Lowi pg. 107). A famous substantive limitation, or a restriction against what Congress could do, was, and is, the establishment clause, or the separation between Church and State. As the first component of the First Amendment, the establishment clause impedes the government s ability from establishing a national Church; consequently, due to religious persecution in England in the 1700 s, the establishment clause serves to protect the citizens from the possible tyranny of religion by permitting the accommodation of all religions through assistance and by not allowing the government to show no favoritism . On this trip Knowlton had the chance to hunt and kill the black rhino, an extremely endangered species. This hunt and the ideas that have been used to justify it have started a heated debate on the subject. Animal conservationists, who support the ethical side of the argument, don t understand the desire to kill a beautiful animal for sport. With such a small population size black rhinos and rhinos in general are on the brink of extinction. Aldo Leopold s land ethic theory simply pushes the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land (Leopold, 1948).
