Unit 7 M2
P5 describe the impact of international factors on a selected business.
M3 assess the impact of changes in the global and European business environment on a selected
business.
Kyoto Protocol
The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto
Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for
reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This amounts to an average of five per cent over the five year
period 2008 2012.
The Protocol was initially adopted on 11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, and entered into force on
16 February 2005. As of September 2011, 191 states had signed and joined the protocol. The only
remaining signatory not to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The store which is timber framed rather than steel costs 30% more to build than others stores, however
this does not bother Tesco as they know that this will be cost efficient as huge savings will be made on
electricity and water bills. This will be done by using rain water to flush toilets and to wash the cars in
the car wash while the refrigerators will have doors to save energy while also getting rid of harmful
HFC refrigerant gases.
On the Tesco website they claim that their aim is to become a zero carbon business by 2050. Another
sign that they are making forward footsteps to do this was in 2010 when they installed over 500
PowerPerfector units at a cost of about 25m. Each unit will help a store save between 5 and 8% of its
total energy usage which should equate to around 12m a year.
Tesco have established that an effective way to cut their carbon footprint is to self generate energy
from renewable sources such as solar, wind, biomass and geothermal. To do this they have set aside
£500m which will be spent over the next five years on environmentally friendly technologies such as
these.
The Kyoto protocol clearly has already had a huge impact on Tesco as massive amounts of money
have been pumped into the project in the aim of reducing first reducing its carbon footprint on stores
by 50% in 2020. The fact that Tesco are actually doing this quickly rather than simply talking about it
says a lot for the

Comparison of the Effectiveness Of Imagery in “ The Secret...
While writing stories it is importing to keep in mind that readers should be able to picture the story in
their mind while reading. It is best to use effective ways to explain or describe the point; such as,
wording and writing format, in order to grab reader s attention and interest them.
Referring to the readings The secret of Walter Mitty written by James Thurber, and Bartleby the
scrivener written by Melville, both have been written in a great effective way for readers to use their
imagery and develop the ideas of what the story is about. Providing that, both stories have described
the character and setting with enough details to be effective imagery for readers.
Understanding the story and the main characters requires a suitable description of characteristic and
personality of people in the story. Therefore, both stories have introduced the characters with a brief
description to leave a picture of the characters in readers head. In reading The secret of Walter Mitty,
Walter Mitty has been described as a middle age man who has trouble handling mechanical tasks,
forgets mostly everything easily, and someone who is a daydreamer. This description of Walter Mitty
gives readers a picture of a man who may not be able to work very well and may not have a strong
memory. But, daydreams of having great times to forget and not to worry about his sad moments and
his disability. Someone who wants to stay happy and tries to make his life interested and joyful the
way he

Importance Of My High School Football Team
A High School Football Team is a community of students selected to play together in the school team
where all the students have the fair opportunity to join the team. There will be a lot of students in the
team including a student from different cultures. I was one of students who joined the football team in
high school. As a Nepali refugee who had never heard of football until he came to America, the
transition to play for my school team was not easy. I entered a discourse community of my High
School Football Team by developing my knowledge about football, communicating, and making
friends with team members from different culture and social group. My journey to the school team
was hard, but it was worth. I became part of a football team because students are taught to be
responsible and mature in the team. Joining a football team was a great opportunity for me to make a
lifelong friendship with other players learning about leadership, communicating, and working with a
team. Just like other players, I played with a hope of getting a scholarship for college. I began with
desired to become a true member of this community, but I was so determined that I end up leading a
team by becoming a team captain. Therefore, it is important for everybody to learn the experiences of
others because there might be somebody out there who wants to be part of any team, but maybe they
are afraid to step up to join that team thinking he or she is different among all. It doesn t matter who

American Children Difficulties
American Children Difficulties
I believe there are many difficulties that American children face in society today. First of all, I used to
think American children have it easy; because it s the land of the free. Free alright, free to do and
express anyway you feel is the problem. It seems like freedom of expression is only valid to those who
challenge how the American way used to be. The difficulties I see is, you can be whoever you choose
to be by either gender, religion, or expression, but on the other hand if you are a person who is against
someone else s belief you are considered a racist, bigot, harsh, or an insensitive person who has to
respect for those who choose to be different or what older generations of society calls it, Normal. ...

I think they are losing social skills behind this technology. The connection with parents, siblings, and
even classmates. Yeah it s a very easy and simpler way to get a hold of someone or make an
emergency call if you are stranded or even in danger, but the extras that go along with it which is:
social medical, games, and video chatting, that can cause car accidents, bulling in school, or again
losing social skills. I say all this to bring back the sole purpose and use of the invention was to connect
outside of your home. Thirdly, I feel American children are not in tune with what this country fought
for or been through to be called, Land of the Free. Today in age our President seems to be more
concerned about social media and what people are saying about them rather than lead and unite us.
Our President goes on rants no matter who it hurts or offends, which is creating enemies. Our children
look up to our leaders and believe they can do exactly what they are doing expressing their
Amendment, Freedom of Speech. I call that disrespect. Children think they can disrespect their
teachers, parents, any authority figures, until it gets out of hand. That s why I believe there are so
many protest today. Lastly, I know American children do not face the difficulties that other children
face in other countries, because their dictatorship is different; either the country is poverty stricken or
their religion won t allow them to express or speak their mind. Writing this paper really made me
understand why I am the way I am with my children. My kids are still in elementary school however,
their friends have cell phones. I do not let my children play with video games or use their tablets
unless it s for homework or the weekend. I will not purchase them a cell phone until they walk home
from school. I don t want my children to become

Gender and Mathematics Essay
Mathematics is acknowledged as a hard subject. People who are good at it are considered to belong to
a sort of elite. Usually to be accepted in this elite you have to fulfill some requirements and most of
them are related with a specific gender. Math is a God s gift for boys. This has been the perception of
society for a long time. The majority thinks that the nature of mathematics goes along mostly with
masculine attributes, thus, males are more focused on it. Therefore, according to these people boys by
default get to be better in math, with girls being excluded from any kind of decent relation with this
field of study. Even though this perception of boys being better in mathematics than the opposite
gender is the opinion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The supporters of this perspective follow that the plain reason behind this involvement is that men are
generally better in this field. Moreover, according to a research conducted by Kyriakides and Antoniou
boys are more predisposed to fulfill harder math related tasks better than girls (1). This proves the idea
that boys achievements in math are higher than those of girls. Secondly, there are people who belong
to the other extreme that affirm that girls outperform boys in the science of numbers. Several
researches were conducted to evaluate the performance of both genders based on their grades in high
school. The statistical results of a research in Wales show that 50% of boys and 51% of girls achieved
grades A* C in mathematics (Cann 1). The outcome of data displayed that girls abilities in this
relevant field exceed those of boys. However, girls choose not to attend these mathematics related
majors. Rather they decide to concentrate in the biochemical sciences in order to be a part of the
difference in the world by generating change (Weinstock par. 1). Other advocates of this approach go
far beyond explaining that there are more reasons why girls choose not to devote their selves to
mathematics. The participation in this particular field is affected by numerous factors such as anxiety,
self confidence and enjoyment. Females tend to have negative emotions regarding these factors and
math in general. The reason behind these

Odometer Rollback Fraud Case
Purchase a used car and you hope that it is everything you want it to be. But hope is not a strategy and
unless you thoroughly check the condition of the car, there is a good chance that a hidden problem
may escape you. One of those hidden items could be the odometer reading. CARFAX research
indicates that nearly 200,000 cars have their odometers rolled back each year and currently there are
more than 1 million vehicles on the road with rolled back odometers. Odometer Rollback Fraud
Rolling back an odometer is not just wrong, it is fraud. Indeed, it is a federal crime, one that gives the
aggrieved party the opportunity to recover $1,500 or treble damages, whichever is greater, plus

show advanced signs of wear that do not correspond to the vehicle s mileage. For example, if spark
plugs and wires are due for replacement when the odometer reads 40,000 miles when they should last
100,000 miles, then that s a problem. On closer inspection the mechanic may find other troubling
signs, including water stains in the trunk or under the carpeting. Even before contacting a mechanic,
you can ask the seller to show you the vehicle history report. You can also independently verify the
odometer reading by using the free CARFAX odometer check. Simply enter the 17 digit alphanumeric
vehicle identification number (VIN) corresponding to the vehicle as well as the zip code where the car
is being sold. Immediately, you will get a number that should correspond to the odometer. If it does

Rose Stein Analysis
Stein s poetics, especially her tender buttons works, is engrossed with many repetitions. Initially, with
prior knowledge, the power of repetition was understood. When imitating Steins, it demonstrated the
power of repetition. In tender buttons, however, Stein proses creative poems on simple, domesticated
objects such as food. With this repetition in her food pieces, it allows the readers to hear the word or
phrase in different angles. By doing so, the reader then examines the word or phrase in a way that was
not originally thought of, shedding a new meaning to the word or phrase. Not only, does the repetition
allow for examining new meanings of the word, but also re illuminating a word that has become a
cliché which is evident in her poem rose . At first glance, the poem seems to have no creativity and
seems absurd. When reading the poem, however, it allowed for the reader to hear the phonemic
sounds, illuminating the word once again. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout writing experiences, I explored different writing forms and employing different literary
devices. While I did use repetition, it was not as obvious or filled the whole prose of the poem, rather
it was chosen more carefully and placed strategically. By doing so, it did not allow for room to truly
appreciate the art of repetition. Imitating Stein, allowed me to explore different simple subjects as the
center of the poem and allowing thoughts and feelings about the subject to flow, rather than
exhausting the idea of the subject. Writing in the style of Stein made me explore the beauty of simple
objects and not exhausting it and damaging the art of

Overcoming The Challenges Of Corraditional Family And...
Nontraditional families have become more and more common today, these include stepfamily and
blended family systems, single parent families, and same sex couples. It is hard enough to cope with
the challenges however, when you add the military culture it can become even tougher to deal and
overcome these challenges. We will explore the nontraditional family and some of their challenges.
Stepfamilies
Divorced spouses subsystem can impact the entire family in a positive or negative manner. For the
positive effects, we can see that these couples that tend to support each other are able to really act as
civilized adults and move on. This is generally because of the commitment to the child(ren), by years
of common history and/or friends, or genuine concern for each other (Hall, 2016, p.123) . When the
positive effects occur, one can see healthy relationships built with each other, the child(ren), and the
new partner as well. This allows for the child(ren) to get the proper discipline and guidance that is
very much needed in children today. On the flip side of this the negative effects can be caused by
revenge, distrust, or anger (Hall, 2016, p.123) . This can cause tension among the ex couple, family,
friends, child(ren), or even the new relationship. This makes it very difficult for the child(ren)
involved to adjust to their new found lifestyle. Another challenge here is when the military member
lives some distance from the child(ren) home; if the member lives

Nino Vs The Jewel Exchange Summary
Nino vs The Jewelry Exchange The legal agenda in the case of Nino vs The Jewelry Exchange was
that the defendant, Rajae Nino made allegations to his employer that he was being discriminated on
the account of his gender and nationality. The primary stipulation to this case was that Nino had
signed a contract that was unconscionable. The primary function of this agreement gave most of the
power to The Jewelry Exchange. The Court of Appeals decided that the arbitration agreements did not
favor their employee. The definition of unconscionable from Webster s Dictionary states, excessive,
unreasonable . What is means for a contract to be unconscionable is that contractually, the contract is
very one sided and extremely favors one party over another. Procedural unconscionability is the
conditions and the procedures that are within the contract results in various inequalities such as age,
intelligence, and relative bargaining power. When a contract is substantively unconscionable it means
that that actual terms of the contract are unfair, oppressive or harsh. Cases such as Nino vs The
Jewelry Exchange showed that the terms if the contract were ambiguous and suspect, this was one of
the primary reasons that the Court of Appeals ruled in Nino s favor. One example that the contract that
Nino signed that the agreement was procedurally unconscionable can be accessed in Article IV of the
contract. Article IV was described as the sole, final, binding and

Pathetic Fallacy In The Media
Learning to Criticize Scholes sets the stage for his argument by examining and describing the three
matrices of video text. The first being visual fascination, a concept we are all too familiar with; the
main reason we believe movies and media can keep our attention longer than a book. He notes how
filters and other other devices cause us to see the world... with more emotion more effectively than
verbal pathetic fallacy... (619). Scholes recognizes the power that visual fascination possesses, he
plainly states that the tactics utilized can even provoke an emotional response, furthering how strong
this matrix is. He goes as far as to mock traditional text calling it pathetic fallacy as a way to display
its inability to be as moving or as engaging as video text. Then Scholes goes on to introduce
narrativity which is powers associated with the reception of stories.. (620) another aspect of video text
that Scholes uses interchangeably with cultural reinforcement; the last matrice. This matrix is
explained as the the process through which video texts confirm viewers in their ideological positions
and reassure them as their membership in a cultural body...an extremely important dimension of all
mass media (620). Cultural reinforcement has the ability to give the audience a sense of belonging
tapping into something far greater than exciting lights or story telling. A person s morals and ethics are
a powerful outlet as Scholes suggests, the most powerful of the three video

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was best known for his novel, One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich, which
explores a day in the life of Ivan Denisovich, who was imprisoned in a Soviet labor camp.
Solzhenitsyn, being a previous denizen of a similar camp, effectively conveys the hardships and

reflect his opinion that loyalty to the Soviet regime was futile and had no purpose whatsoever. He uses

Senka, one of the team 104th quietest members, also suffers the consequences of being loyal to the
Soviet regime. Senka served the army during Hitler s attack on the Soviet Union and had suffered on
both ends: One of his eardrums had been smashed in 41 and he later had been captured, recaptured
and sent to Buchenwald (Solzhenitsyn, 45) where he smuggled in arms to organize a mutiny
(Solzhenitsyn, 57). He had tried to escape three times with no avail. The last time he was captured he
was punished by tying his wrists behind him, hanging by them and flogging him hard (Solzhenitsyn,
59). When he finally was released back to the Soviet Union, he charged for treason and put into this
gulag. Senka, despite enduring so much physical and mental stress to escape and organize a mutiny
against the Germans in an effort to stay loyal to his home country, lead him to the Stalinist work
camps in the Soviet Union under charges of treason. Here we see Solzhenitsyn using the ironic gap
between the character s intention and outcome to once again to condemn any effort to be loyal to the
Soviet Union. Senka s flashback is also narrated with a very apologetic tone, best seen when the
narrator calls him a luckless fellow (Solzhenitsyn, 45), and describes his painful torture. Solzhenitsyn
further adds elements such as Senka s extremely broken spirit to increase reader sympathy: You re lost
Senka often says, if you show your pride too much (Solzhenitsyn, 45). This also allows the readers to
better connect with Senka s character by feeling very sorry for him. This also helps Solzhenitsyn
further demonstrate the drastic, often sad consequences of being loyal to the Soviet

I Am A C + Does Not Sit Well With Anyone
A C+ does not sit well with anyone. For me, that great sense of academic disappointment came in the
form of EECS 183 Elementary Programing Concepts. As a freshman, I was incredibly excited to be
exploring the plethora of academic disciplines available to me at the University of Michigan. Having
never been exposed to computer science, I decided to enroll in the introductory course. I was also
heavily influenced by my academic peers and hall mates, many who were interested in programming
apps or websites, and few of whom were pursuing degrees in computer science engineering. With a
slightly skewed sense confidence instilled in me by my friends, I began learning how to program
amidst many other academic subjects I was engulfed in as a Spanish major and pre med prospective.
At first, I couldn t get enough of the course. Every day, I approached the course material as a new, fun,
engaging puzzle that I would need to figure out. It was like learning a language all over again. In fact,
we were learning to program in a new language (C++ at first and then Python to finish the semester)
which made me feel as though I could now communicate with a whole new world of people. I was
very engaged in the homework, lectures, and discussions because I realized I would have to figure out
different ways to solve problems and think in an entirely unique manner than I was used to. However,
I learned quickly that the computer scientist mindset was one that not all students possessed

Cause And Effects Of The Vietnam War
Through the course of history the United States has landed the leading role within a quite a few
disputes and wars. From its acquisition of land on the North American content, to the countries

memories into many societies. The cause and affect of the actions carried out by United States military

This cultivated several protests throughout the United States at the time, which called for the end of
the Vietnam War for a variety of reasons. The main reason being that there was no direct threat to the
United States for them to send troops, and invest money in this war. The second reason came after the
United States engaged in war, and the public was beginning to see images from Vietnam, followed by
reports of the civilian death tolls caused by the U.S. military. There were several accusations of war
crimes within the Vietnam War, and the U.S. military was being painted as the perpetrator. In the
document titled The Ethics of the Vietnam War it was stated that, the US Government directly violated
multiple principles of Just War theory during the Vietnam War (Ewing, 3). It turned into a domino
effect where soldiers were returning home and in turn suffering, many with traumatic experiences
disturbing their peace alongside other mental illnesses. This leads to the second question of ethics, the
help and treatment provided to soldiers upon returning home, or better yet the lack of help. The
psychological trauma endured by soldiers was at one point disregarded, and they were punished for it.
Due to the nature of the Vietnam War a lot of soldiers were developing PTSD, yet nothing was
necessarily being done about it. In Fields of Combat by Erin P. Finley, spoke about the negligence on
behalf of the military, government, and the American society as a whole by stating that, failure to
make place for PTSD would be equivalent to blaming the victim for his misfortunes... (Finley, 69).

Decisions that Determine the Success of a Business
Starting a business and keeping it going is a difficult, competitive, and strategic process that helps
make a business successful. A business success can be valued on how much profit a business makes.
In business, you earn profit by selling products and services to customers who are willing to buy.
Qualities needed in business are determination, math, good decision making skills, and many other
attributes. Decisions are an important part of business. The complex process of decisions that make up
a business include location, budget, choosing what industry you should go into which is based on
demographics and what is best suited for your city. These and many other decisions determine the
success of a business. There are many steps to starting a business. You should make a record of your
competition. This means checking how they advertise, how much they charge, and how successful
they are. You can use these to be more successful than them. You should also make a marketing plan.
A marketing plan is deciding how you will run your business. These include figuring out your cost for
supplies, how you will advertise, your location, how you will finance, and figuring out taxes and
business permits.
When you are figuring out how you want to advertise, there are many different methods you could
chose. Some outlets and media you could use spread your business are TV, radio, newspaper,

Essay On Centralized Law Enforcement
Over the years, the debate on whether the Department of Law Enforcement in U.S. should be
centralized or not continues to be a contentious issue. Both centralized and decentralized forms of
administration have their own advantages as well as disadvantages. The U.S. currently has a
decentralized police administration structure, which has received equal measure of admiration as well
as criticism. As a member of Congress, my staff assistant s proposal to nationalize law enforcement
throughout the United States brings with it meaningful insights which need to be analyzed before
coming up with an informed conclusion. This essay will therefore analyze some of the benefits of such
a proposal, as well as the shortcomings, not forgetting how different groups will perceive it.

Consequently, anarchy can arise within the department whereby the police can engage in corruption
activities, abuse of power and indiscipline as the public is not holding them accountable as much as it

government. Since a centralized police department will be receiving funds and other resources from
the national government, the political leaders at the top of the federal government might start using
their influence and power to manipulate police operations.

The Budget Process
INTRODUCTION
Budgeting involves decision making regarding revenue and services for both public and nonprofit
organizations. Furthermore, budgeting provides the infrastructure and financial means for our public
systems and services. Primarily, the goal of budgeting is to achieve a balance between revenue and
expenditures. Governmental allocation and appropriation of funds are a utilized as a political device to
uphold the public interest. Appropriations permit policy proposals to manifest from aspirations into
accomplishments. Budgeting is the financial consideration that provides resources to the policy
promoted throughout all levels of government. Thus, budgeting promotes the values of the executive
branch that matriculates to the federal, state and local levels of government. Tedious is the budget
process and each stage must be completed meticulously prior to the advancement of each phase so that
the budget is successfully implemented.

Theme Of Mrs Dalloway
5. Clarissa s Decision of Marriage For women, marriage often serves to secure a position in the
society, independent of their own personal attributes like talents, abilities and even beauty. Marriage is
definitely one of the most basic and essential concerns that women are enormously engaged with.
Virginia Woolf writes Mrs. Dalloway in order to reveal the truth of life, especially the life of the
married women. She aims to capture the realities and the struggles of her characters in their society. In
Mrs. Dalloway, Clarissa made her decision to refuse Peter Walsh and Marry Richard Dalloway.
Throughout the novel, she justifies her choices and declares that she preferred to live a good life, or

Root Cause Analysis Paper
Define a root cause analysis and when it is used. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a controlled method
used to analyze serious adverse events. Originally developed to analyze industrial accidents, RCA is
now commonly organized as an error investigation tool in health care. A principal theory of RCA is to
identify fundamental problems that increase the probability of errors while avoiding the trap of
focusing on mistakes by individuals. RCA thus uses the systems approach to identify both active
errors: errors occurring at the point of interface between humans and a complex system and dormant
errors: the hidden problems within health care systems that contribute to adverse events. It is one of
the most widely used methods for detecting safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
RCAs are one of the most used methods to improving patient safety. However, much of the problem
lies in how RCAs are understood rather than in how they perform, since there is no agreement on how
hospitals should follow up on RCA data. This limits the usefulness of RCAs as a quality improvement
tool. Another issue is that few devices exist for analysis of multiple RCAs across institutions. As an
individual case study of a specific error, analysis of multiple RCAs performed at different institutions
may help identify patterns of error and point the way toward many solutions (Ewen Bucher, 2013;
Root Cause Analysis, 2014; Utah Department of Administrative Services, 2013). This tool is easy to
use and requires little or no training. It identifies the underlying causes of problems. However, it also
assumes that systems and events are interrelated, which may not always be the case (Root Cause
Analysis, 2015). Outline the steps to conduct a root cause analysis. To determine the cause of an error
certain steps must be followed in order to produce positive

Analysis of Elizabeth Bishops the Moose
Elizabeth Bishop s The Moose is a narrative poem of 168 lines. Its twenty eight six line stanzas are
not rigidly structured. Lines vary in length from four to eight syllables, but those of five or six
syllables predominate. The pattern of stresses is lax enough almost to blur the distinction between
verse and prose; the rhythm is that of a low keyed speaking voice hovering over the descriptive
details. The eyewitness account is meticulous and restrained.
The poem concerns a bus traveling to Boston through the landscape and towns of New Brunswick.
While driving through the woods, the bus stops because a moose has wandered onto the road. The
appearance of the animal interrupts the peaceful hum of elderly passengers voices. ... Show more

Thus the first part, devoted to the landscape, is richly descriptive, replete with qualifying epithets that,
toward the end (in line 75 and in line 81), come in by threes, like beads on a string. In the second part,
dealing with the passengers plight, learned, latinate words such as divagation, auditory, hallucination,
eternity, and acceptance signal the presence of the narrator commentator. In the third part—the one
reserved for the moose—epithets return. In the climactic twenty fourth stanza, the most distinctly
poetic devices—explicit comparisons—are bestowed on the protagonist: high as a church,/ homely as a
house. Moreover, the four additional epithets lavished on the moose contribute to the grandeur of its
appearance: towering, antlerless, and grand, otherworldly.
By careful calibration and timing of her tropes, Bishop succeeds superbly in achieving her ends.
Contrast is attained by her control over all compartments of language, and her austere, restrained tone
and strategy of deferral and understatement are dramatically effective.
Themes and Meanings The Moose is ultimately about the human need to be purged and, if possible,
cured of selfhood. Self absorption or narcissism is not only a passing malaise afflicting teenagers.
Older people regard themselves in the mirror of their

Institutional living was a phenomenon between 1660 and 1800 which housed persons to be considered
in poverty, incapacitated and unable to integrate in normal society namely the sick, mad and

aptitude for the industrial system which excluded many disabled people (Roulstone Prideaux, 2008).
By 1834 the act defined the workhouse as a staging post for dangerous lunatics that were progressed
to specialist asylums. The eighteenth century workhouses were institutional settings with the largest
history of housing disabled people. The new poor law which was the amendment act of the Poor Law
Act 1834, excluded inappropriate dependency, as a consequence it removed political rights from
disabled people deeming them unfit for democracy or political citizenship (Borsay, 2005). The civil
rights of disabled people detained in workhouses on grounds of mental impairment were defective,

Essay On Vitiligo
The term vitiligo is derived from the latin word vitelius meaning calf . The white patches of the
disease resembles the white patches of a spotted calf resulting in the disease being called Vitiligo. This
is a disorder of the skin in which white patches will appear on the skin on different spots of the body.
The disease will happen to people because the melanocytes that make pigment in the skin are

Vitiligo was first discovered in 1500 B.C in Egypt. In The Ebers Papyrus, which is an Egyptian

Women in Iran
1. Women s rights in Iran have for many years been a very controversial and heated topic. The way
women live and are viewed by men in Iran has changed in so many ways throughout the end of the
twentieth century leading into current day. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was the last Shah of Iran
and throughout his attempt to westernize his country he was overthrown by the Iranian Revolution,
also known as the Islamic Revolution, on February 11th, 1979.[1] Religious rulers took over and
influenced the Sharia Law, which are decisions on how to live life by studying religious texts. Ever
since this change women have faced a struggle to survive in harsh conditions every day of their lives.

This allows women to face discrimination in all walks of life, and which allows men the authority to
exercise their power without any fear of being held accountable for their actions. The Sharia or
Islamic law defines the roles of women which are that women are not equal to men when it comes to
inheritance, but men and women are equal before God when it comes to their religious duties and the
second is that women are placed under the protection and care of men. It says that men are not
superior to women and that in the beginning men did not come before women and visa versa and that
woman were not created for the purpose of man, but created in the unity of man.[11] After the
Revolution, the attitude toward women by men has been condescending.[12] Although the Hadith
states that women are morally defective , it must ignore the fact that the vast individuals jailed for
murder, rape, child abuse, etc. are men. The problem is that the laws have been derived from the
words of men and not the words of God in which were intended. The Qur an says O Mankind, keep
your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate (of same kind)
and from them twain has spread a multitude of men and women .[13] Women in Islamic culture had a

The Novel, And As The Film Unfolds
I won t be a carer any more come the end of the year, and though I ve got a lot out of it, I have to
admit I ll welcome the chance to rest to stop and think and remember. I m sure it s at least partly to do
with that, to do with preparing for the change of pace, that I ve been getting this urge to order all these
old memories (Ishiguro, 34). Over the course of the novel, and as the film unfolds, the whole story is
told in a series of flashbacks as Kathy reencounters her life. Kathy stumbles over every difficult
memory as she grapples with her life while trying to gear up for donations. Living in the past may be
easier to do rather than digest that her life has reached its peak. She has outlived Helsham, her best
friends, and now is alone to watch over the dying and wait for her time to complete. The only way that
she can go back and indulge in a time when things were somewhat easier is by reliving her memories.
There she can experience her time with Tommy on repeat, and learn to muddle through all the things
that she has lost and all that she has left. Kathy balances on the line of experiencing her past and living
in it. Although she claims that when her time to complete is upon her she will welcome it and will
comfort the rest from her memories, but it seems that she uses the past as a coping mechanism. The
past is easier, she lived it, she had a good life and reliving it gives her a distraction from her
impending fate. It may have been nostalgia at first but then

Venn Diagrams Influence On Mayan Creation
There are many different kinds of religions and interpretations of events, that took place. Whether
someone reads about the Native American creation stories or the rigid beliefs of the Puritans that
Landed in the Massachusetts Bay Colony they are all religions that shaped America to what it is,
today. In America today, there are many different religions along with branches of religions that
influence decisions that are made. The creator, or creators, in the religions, that influenced Early
America all have very different views, towards the Earth and mankind. The Mayan creators only
wanted humans for them to be able to praise them, the Inuit god was not expecting humans to roam
hear but after they were hatched he cared for them. The Mayan creators: Tepeu the Maker and
Gucumatz the Feathered Spirit first created the Earth, together by coming together. After this whatever
they imagined was created. They needed something to look after their creation, this is why they
created animals. The two Gods want praise so they said Now, praise us! Say our names! commanded
the creators. (Mayan Creation Big Myth Website) This created chaos since ... Show more content on

The Inuits had direct contact, with their creator, during their creation, and it was a positive interaction
so the view of The Raven is positive. The Mayans had their interactions with their creators, in a
different way. The two creators were not only wanting someone to take care of the Earth, their
creation, but someone who can verbally praise them. The Puritans connected to their creator through
their scripture, poems, and sermons. All of the religions, that were discussed, had loyal followers that
loved the creators and felt cared for, by their creator. That I am Cloathd in Holy robes for glory.
(Huswifery, Edward Taylor) Taylor wrote this poem like he cared for creator very much. He also was

Kyoto Protocol The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This amounts to an average of five per cent over the five year period 2008 2012. The Protocol was initially adopted on 11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, and entered into force on 16 February 2005. This will be done by using rain water to flush toilets and to wash the cars in the car wash while the refrigerators will have doors to save energy while also getting rid of harmful HFC refrigerant gases. On the Tesco website they claim that their aim is to become a zero carbon business by 2050. Another sign that they are making forward footsteps to do this was in 2010 when they installed over 500 PowerPerfector units at a cost of about 25m. Each unit will help a store save between 5 and 8% of its total energy usage which should equate to around 12m a year. Tesco have established that an effective way to cut their carbon footprint is to self generate energy from renewable sources such as solar, wind, biomass and geothermal. To do this they have set aside £500m which will be spent over the next five years on environmentally friendly technologies such as these. The Kyoto protocol clearly has already had a huge impact on Tesco as massive amounts of money have been pumped into the project in the aim of reducing first reducing its carbon footprint on stores by 50% in 2020. The fact that Tesco are actually doing this quickly rather than simply talking about it says a lot for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Comparison of the Effectiveness Of Imagery in “ The Secret... While writing stories it is importing to keep in mind that readers should be able to picture the story in their mind while reading. It is best to use effective ways to explain or describe the point; such as, wording and writing format, in order to grab reader s attention and interest them. Referring to the readings The secret of Walter Mitty written by James Thurber, and Bartleby the scrivener written by Melville, both have been written in a great effective way for readers to use their imagery and develop the ideas of what the story is about. Providing that, both stories have described the character and setting with enough details to be effective imagery for readers. Understanding the story and the main characters requires a suitable description of characteristic and personality of people in the story. Therefore, both stories have introduced the characters with a brief description to leave a picture of the characters in readers head. In reading The secret of Walter Mitty, Walter Mitty has been described as a middle age man who has trouble handling mechanical tasks, forgets mostly everything easily, and someone who is a daydreamer. This description of Walter Mitty gives readers a picture of a man who may not be able to work very well and may not have a strong memory. There will be a lot of students in the team including a student from different cultures. I was one of students who joined the football team in high school. As a Nepali refugee who had never heard of football until he came to America, the transition to play for my school team was not easy. I entered a discourse community of my High School Football Team by developing my knowledge about football, communicating, and making friends with team members from different culture and social group. First of all, I used to think American children have it easy; because it s the land of the free. Free alright, free to do and express anyway you feel is the problem. It seems like freedom of expression is only valid to those who challenge how the American way used to be. The difficulties I see is, you can be whoever you choose to be by either gender, religion, or expression, but on the other hand if you are a person who is against someone else s belief you are considered a racist, bigot, harsh, or an insensitive person who has to respect for those who choose to be different or what older generations of society calls it, Normal. ... I say all this to bring back the sole purpose and use of the invention was to connect outside of your home. Thirdly, I feel American children are not in tune with what this country fought for or been through to be called, Land of the Free. Today in age our President seems to be more concerned about social media and what people are saying about them rather than lead and unite us. Our President goes on rants no matter who it hurts or offends, which is creating enemies. Our children look up to our leaders and believe they can do exactly what they are doing expressing their Amendment, Freedom of Speech. I call that disrespect. Children think they can disrespect their teachers, parents, any authority figures, until it gets out of hand. That s why I believe there are so many protest today. Lastly, I know American children do not face the difficulties that other children face in other countries, because their dictatorship is different; either the country is poverty stricken or their religion won t allow them to express or speak their mind. Usually to be accepted in this elite you have to fulfill some requirements and most of them are related with a specific gender. Math is a God s gift for boys. This has been the perception of society for a long time. The majority thinks that the nature of mathematics goes along mostly with masculine attributes, thus, males are more focused on it. Moreover, according to a research conducted by Kyriakides and Antoniou boys are more predisposed to fulfill harder math related tasks better than girls (1). This proves the idea that boys achievements in math are higher than those of girls. Secondly, there are people who belong to the other extreme that affirm that girls outperform boys in the science of numbers. Several researches were conducted to evaluate the performance of both genders based on their grades in high school. The statistical results of a research in Wales show that 50% of boys and 51% of girls achieved grades A* C in mathematics (Cann 1). The outcome of data displayed that girls abilities in this relevant field exceed those of boys. However, girls choose not to attend these mathematics related majors. Rather they decide to concentrate in the biochemical sciences in order to be a part of the difference in the world by generating change (Weinstock par. 1). Other advocates of this approach go far beyond explaining that there are more reasons why girls choose not to devote their selves to mathematics. This cultivated several protests throughout the United States at the time, which called for the end of the Vietnam War for a variety of reasons. The main reason being that there was no direct threat to the United States for them to send troops, and invest money in this war. The second reason came after the United States engaged in war, and the public was beginning to see images from Vietnam, followed by reports of the civilian death tolls caused by the U.S. military. There were several accusations of war crimes within the Vietnam War, and the U.S. military was being painted as the perpetrator. In the document titled The Ethics of the Vietnam War it was stated that, the US Government directly violated multiple principles of Just War theory during the Vietnam War (Ewing, 3). It turned into a domino effect where soldiers were returning home and in turn suffering, many with traumatic experiences disturbing their peace alongside other mental illnesses. This leads to the second question of ethics, the help and treatment provided to soldiers upon returning home, or better yet the lack of help. The psychological trauma endured by soldiers was at one point disregarded, and they were punished for it. Due to the nature of the Vietnam War a lot of soldiers were developing PTSD, yet nothing was necessarily being done about it. In Fields of Combat by Erin P. Finley, spoke about the negligence on behalf of the military, government, and the American society as a whole by stating that, failure to make place for PTSD would be equivalent to blaming the victim for his misfortunes... Originally developed to analyze industrial accidents, RCA is now commonly organized as an error investigation tool in health care. A principal theory of RCA is to identify fundamental problems that increase the probability of errors while avoiding the trap of focusing on mistakes by individuals. RCA thus uses the systems approach to identify both active errors: errors occurring at the point of interface between humans and a complex system and dormant errors: the hidden problems within health care systems that contribute to adverse events. As an individual case study of a specific error, analysis of multiple RCAs performed at different institutions may help identify patterns of error and point the way toward many solutions (Ewen Bucher, 2013; Root Cause Analysis, 2014; Utah Department of Administrative Services, 2013). • 35. Analysis of Elizabeth Bishops the Moose Elizabeth Bishop s The Moose is a narrative poem of 168 lines. Its twenty eight six line stanzas are not rigidly structured. Lines vary in length from four to eight syllables, but those of five or six syllables predominate. The pattern of stresses is lax enough almost to blur the distinction between verse and prose; the rhythm is that of a low keyed speaking voice hovering over the descriptive details. The eyewitness account is meticulous and restrained. The poem concerns a bus traveling to Boston through the landscape and towns of New Brunswick. While driving through the woods, the bus stops because a moose has wandered onto the road. The appearance of the animal interrupts the peaceful hum of elderly passengers voices. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus the first part, devoted to the landscape, is richly descriptive, replete with qualifying epithets that, toward the end (in line 75 and in line 81), come in by threes, like beads on a string. In the second part, dealing with the passengers plight, learned, latinate words such as divagation, auditory, hallucination, eternity, and acceptance signal the presence of the narrator commentator. In the third part—the one reserved for the moose—epithets return. In the climactic twenty fourth stanza, the most distinctly poetic devices—explicit comparisons—are bestowed on the protagonist: high as a church,/ homely as a house. Moreover, the four additional epithets lavished on the moose contribute to the grandeur of its appearance: towering, antlerless, and grand, otherworldly. By careful calibration and timing of her tropes, Bishop succeeds superbly in achieving her ends. Contrast is attained by her control over all compartments of language, and her austere, restrained tone and strategy of deferral and understatement are dramatically effective.
