Code Of Conduct Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The...
They were not allowed to lay down arms and had to defend the defenseless. Along with seeking
wonders, they were not allowed to hurt anyone and had to refrain from attacking each other. They had
to fight for and give their lives for their country. They could not break faith and had to practice
religion with heroic effort. They had to be honest about their experience whether it be honorable or
disgraceful and they had to be hospitable to everyone by ability. The code of the knights of the Round
Table was known as Pentecostal oath and was used to swear in every Knight every year at the time of
Pentecost. The roundtable was also known as the order of chivalry in king Arthurs court. After some
time, every knight considered among the best and the bravest sought admission to the most noble
order of the Round Table. (Grosset ,Dunlap Maolry,King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table,
pg. 85 90,1919) The establishing of the Knights of the Round Table teaches us that we need to follow
basic code of conduct. This basic code of conduct is to treat each other with respect, be courageous,
have honor in our actions, do not hurt anyone, stand up for what is right and be honest. Because the
Knight of the round table followed this code Camelot became known for how chivalrous, safe, and
good it was. As a result, common people of the land placed immense trust and faith in the knights
which led them to try and emulate it among themselves to live up to their heroes expectations.

A Brief Note On Science And The Nineteenth Century
Faith v.s Science
Sunya Hassan
History 10
Faith vs. Science in the Nineteenth Century
Throughout history, the comparison of faith and science have caused debate between our historians.
However, they can agree that the nineteenth century was somewhat of a blurred line in American
history to determine where the population s allegiance laid. While the Second Great Awakening riled
up a lot of devout Baptists and Methodists, science had also taken a toll with the Industrial Revolution.
Which is still one of the most significant economic changes in American history to date. And although
Darwin s finds did not occur in the US, the effects of his theory of evolution made men and women in
the states question their beliefs and faith in religion. Technological developments also created issues
for the church as they were losing grip of power on their believers. Even though religion played a
large role in the early nineteenth century, given the facts, science and innovation captured the interest
of America s people and undermined their faith. Although faith was not the leading candidate for
winning over the allegiance, faith in religion runs deep down to the foundations of America. The early
settlers, such as the pilgrims, ran from Europe to practice their own faith without the accusation of
heresy. Puritanism was a religious reform movement that sought to purify the Church of England.
Their philosophy of a city upon a hill caused the United States to strive for

Cultural Appropriation Has Been A Major Issue Of Interest
CULTURAL APPROPRIATATION Since time immemorial cultural appropriation has been a major
issue of interest to the extent it is discussed and analyzed using different opinions by people. Cultural
appropriation entails the use or adoption of another culture s elements either by an individual or group
of people. It has been customary among the people in the world who lend and borrow each other s
cultures which has continued for long since the human society began(Sanders 46). Controversies
might arise in cases when the elements of a minority culture are borrowed by the groups or individuals
from the majority culture. Such actions are seen as inappropriate copying of the rights or identity of
another culture. In such scenarios, culture elements would be said to have been adopted using the
colonial manner. The failure to use the elements within the original context of a given culture is
termed as wrong culture misappropriation. In most times, when cultural misappropriation takes place
there is distortion of elements which can also be lost.
The subordination of the cultural elements by the majority culture would involve the social, economic
or the political aspect. Then dominant or majority culture might adopt the elements of a different
culture and brand it as fashion. On the other hand, a different perspective and view is used to
determine the necessity of cultural appropriation and how it has continuously been adopted by
different cultures all over the world (Matthes 65). Many

The Effect Of Transfer Pricing On Shareholders Of...
Transfer pricing assist companies in allocating their profits among the various countries in which they
operate. However, we found that in recent years, multinational corporations have been taking
advantage of the arm s length principle to transfer intellectual property that is difficult to value in
order to avoid taxes in high tax jurisdictions. This poses an ethical dilemma for executives of
corporations on whether or not they are paying their fair share of taxes and raises the question on how
the U.S. government can reform the current system in place to encourage companies to behave
ethically.
We examine the effects of transfer pricing on shareholders of multinational corporations and the
United States government through a case study on Apple. Apple was able to successfully dodge
billions of taxes in the U.S. through the use of aggressive transfer pricing with their Irish subsidiaries.
We found that Apple was never fined by the IRS because they were exploiting a loophole in the arm s
length principle. While shareholders stand to profit from aggressive transfer pricing practices, they
must be aware of the risk that aggressive transfer pricing imposes and be aware of companies
motivations and morals for engaging in transfer pricing.
The negative financial effects on the government were evident and we propose a three part solution to
restructure the rules for transfer pricing to promote multinationals to act morally. First, we propose
that the IRS get rid of the

Components Of The Information Security Triangle And List...
Pranay Gunna Assignment 1 CECS 631 Fall 2014 09/12/2014 1. Do problem 15 on page 30. Outline
the three components of the information security triangle and list one violation example for each 1.
Confidentiality. Confidentiality means to limit the access to information and access to only authorized
users. This also means preventing accessing to unauthorized users. Protecting valuable information is
very major part of the information security. A key component of confidentiality is encryption.
Encryption makes sure that only the authorized person can have access to information. To implement
confidentiality in your company most things to do is classification into different levels. Each security
level must have their own security restrictions. This component is also closely linked with privacy.
Ensuring confidentiality means that information is organized in terms of who ought to have access as
well as its sensitivity. Example: A breach of confidentiality may take place through different means,
for instance hacking. Hacking is used to access some restricted information of a company/user. 2.
Integrity. Integrity of information means to protect data/information from being modified by
unauthorized users. It also includes the concept of data integrity. Data integrity refers to the certainty
that the data are not tampered with during or after submission. This means integrity could be
compromised: during the upload of data and during the storage of the document in the database.

Explain One Possible Cause Of The Great Human Migration
1. Identify and explain one example of non historical evidence for human migration out of Africa.
Throughout his article, The Great Human Migration, Guy Gugliotta analyzes various evidence that
support the theory of human migration out of Africa. Gugliotta explains how scientists use
mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one s mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace
modern humans origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists
have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000 years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found
in people alive today. The woman was named Eve and she is, what scientists call, our most recent
common ancestor. DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the out of Africa
theory because it proves that modern humans originated in Africa. These findings link Africa as the
hearth of modern humans all over the world and demonstrates that early humans migrated out of
Africa.

As recent scientific evidence shows, Africa may have suffered from a lack of water roughly 100,000
years ago. Since water is essential for human life, the absence of precipitation may have caused early
humans to migrate to other parts of the world. Scientists found evidence which establishes that
modern humans were separated into small, dispersed groups due to the droughts. After the droughts
ended, people decided to migrate to parts of Asia in order to ensure survival. The African people did
not want to risk another drought, so they decided to begin emigrating out of Africa and exploring the
rest of the world. The water deficiency in Africa may have caused modern humans to migrate out of
Africa and begin inhabiting other regions of the

Executive Vp For The Sarbanes Oxley Act
The case presents that Vince Patton, the executive VP (IT department) of RR communications has
been with the organization for a long time. It then shows the back story of IT circumstances it has
been facing in past and to date. The first problem of RR communications was it did not have one
central IT system; each division had their own system, databases and customer service center. Each
division had full power to develop and implement new projects and make decisions without involving
any other division members as well as the company head. Due to this decentralized system; RR

coordination between other divisions and unable to ensure that the decision made in one division

divisional CIOs to unify the systems and management which was a no go from the leaders. DIOs were
so imbedded with individualism that the unified system and management seemed to them loosing the

thought the centralized system will not work and tried to sabotage the implementation process.
Below is brief answer provided for discussion questions:

Analysis Of Survival In Auschwitz By Primo Levi
In a world with billions of people there are bound to be countless opinions of how society should be
run. Some believe that every person should be treated with respect and equality, while others see a
distinct division between those who deserve humane treatment and those who do not. In his
autobiography, Survival in Auschwitz, Primo Levi reveals just how greatly this difference has
influenced the lives of millions by recalling his experience in the infamous concentration camp,
Auschwitz. Primo Levi is caught between colliding cultures; while part of his book is dedicated to
criticizing the SS officers for their cruelty, a greater focus is placed on the tactics that he adopted in
order to survive in the camp, both mentally and physically. Levi s transition from a life of comfort ...

While this may seem counterintuitive and that Levi could have benefitted from holding on to hope, he
explains that, in the face of driving necessity and physical disabilities many social habits and instincts
are reduced to silence (Levi 187). To put faith in the unlikely chance of being rescued and reunited
with family would prove to be wasteful because that energy could have been better used to accumulate
necessary survival tactics. However, his most distinct survival tactic was his reliance upon others. He
particularly found life within Lorenzo, a man who, was outside this world of negation , and whose
humanity was pure and uncontaminated (Levi 122). Most other prisoners looked out solely for
themselves and neglected social interaction, which therefore caused loneliness to build on top of the
rest of their suffering. By allowing himself to confide in Lorenzo, [He] managed not to forget that [he
himself] was a man (Levi 122). Were it not for Lorenzo, Levi would not have stayed afloat in the sea
of pain and despair that he was thrown

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Pneumatics
Introduction
The technology of Pneumatics deals with the application and uses of a compressible gas such as air or
a suitable pure gas but hydraulics uses an incompressible liquid such as oil. The application started to
grow due to a gradual shift towards automated machines and equipment. The introduction of
pneumatics in manufacturing has introduced the cheaper mode of production in wide areas of
application such as Packaging machinery, Bottle filling Industry, artificial heart, logic control systems
and robotic materials handling devices etc. Due to several advantages, pneumatics is preferred over
hydraulics. The coming future technology in this field is further improving the hydraulics in terms of
cost and energy efficiency.

The first compressors were seen around 3000 B.C. to provide small blows of air to aid in starting fire.
In around 1500 B.C, these simple devices were evolved into larger units and used in metal smelting.
Around the 18th century, mechanical compressors were used to do useful work, any many
experiments were done to test the power and applicability of pneumatic systems. Pneumatics was used
to power a tunneling project in Mt. Cenis, located in the Alps. If traditional drilling methods were used
(manual) the project would have taken around 30 long years. By using pneumatic drills, the tunnel
was completed in just 14 years and was open to traffic in 1871. This project caught the attention of
many government agencies and they began to talk of compressor stations for city wide power
consumption. (6)
Paris was actually the first city to try pneumatics in 1888 when a 65 horsepower (HP) rated
compressor fed 4 miles of main wire with 30 miles of branch circuits delivering 90 psi. By 1891 the
capacity of the motor was increased to 25,000 HP. Electricity would become the most convenient on
large scale energy transmission while pneumatics were used in more industrial applications including
power, process, and control

1.2.2 Post colonial education in Kenya (Neocolonialism)
Sifuna and Otiende (1992) noted that racial segregation was abolished in 1960 as the country moved
closer to independence. With the attainment of independence on 12th December, 1963; a ministry of
education was created. The school system in Kenya was brought under a localized standard
curriculum and public examinations. Since independence, the Government has addressed challenges
facing the education sector through Commissions, Committees and Taskforces.
The first Commission, after independence, came up with the Report of the Kenya Education
Commission (The Ominde Report, 1964) that sought to reform the education system inherited from
the colonial government to make it more responsive to the needs of independent Kenya. The
Commission proposed an education system that would foster national unity and the creation of
sufficient human capital for national development. Sessional Paper No: 10 of 1965 on African

A Better Understanding Of Diabetes And How Kids Are...
During the week that we spend at camp I hope that I will have a better understanding of Diabetes and
how kids are dealing and coping with it. Sometimes we forget that when an illness happens in adults it
is totally different on how it affects children so sometimes kids get ignored more often. So I hope this
week will give me a better insight into what it is like for a child with diabetes day to day. My fear
going into this week is that I won t be able to tell when a kid is having a low blood sugar or a high
one. I know what signs to look out for but I don t have a lot of experience with this in kids. Kids are
different on they present than adults so the fear is not recognizing it fast enough to get help for the
child. What I think that I will contribute to the camp team is that I will be able to help with
recognizing signs more quickly of hypo and hyperglycemia even though I still need some work. I
think this will be beneficial because there may be members of the team that are less experienced so
having someone that has at least seen this once will help. The previous experience that I have had with
medically fragile children is going to CCK for a weekend during diabetes weekend and seeing a
glimpse of children with this disease. I got to interact with the kids and play with them as if they had
nothing wrong with them. The kids that were there were amazing to see on how they were coping with
the disease versus their parents. Also what else was neat to see is how

The City Of Orlando Is Split It Up Into 9 Districts
The City of Orlando is split it up into 9 districts. Indeed, each district has its own personality and
offers different events throughout the year. The manager of each district is in charge of these activities
and their primary goal is to always drive customers and tourists into their districts. For example, the
Small Business Saturday is an event that is held, each year, the day after Black Friday and the main
goal of each district is to get business to their stores and to celebrate with the community. For these
small businesses, this time of the year is extremely important and many of them rely on the holiday
season to accomplish their annual sales. (Orlando Sentinel, 2015).
This year is not different, the Mills50 district is going to hold the Small Business Saturday and it
needs a little bit of help to stand out of the rest. Audubon Park is one of the Orlando Districts and an
indirect competitor of Mills 50. This park has done similar activities in the past and last year for the
Small Business Saturday event they did a raffle for cash. The event was successful in getting business
to the local stores and this year they are planning on following along with the Ivanhoe District in their
annual Sip and Stroll. According to Fresh Market (2016), the event is scheduled to take place on
November 26th. The Audubon Park district is committed to create a sustainable local economy and
they want to put the area on the path to becoming an Orlando EcoDistrict. (Audubon Park, 2016).

The Determinants of Factors of Price
INTRODUCTION The importance of price in the modern economic system not be overemphasized.
However, to set the right price for any commodity or service, some parameters or determinants come
to play. Among the determinants of factoring price are: Tender Sales by Auction Haggling etc, and
these are discussed below. 1. Interaction of the forces of Demand and Supply: In a perfectly
competitive market or what is sometimes referred to as a free market economy, prices are determined
by the interaction of the forces of demand and supply. The determination of prices by the interaction
of the invisible forces of demand and supply is known as the price mechanism or price system . From
the laws of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The seller could advertise the sale of his commodity and request for tenders. Each prospective buyer
makes an offer for the commodity in writing. Unaware of the prices offered by other buyers. The
commodity is usually sold to the buyer who offers the highest price. In a tender for supply. The
commodity is usually sold to the buyer who offers the highest price. In a tender for supply, there is one
buyer and a umber of sellers. The buyer would ask the sellers of a commodity to make tenders for
supply. They apply in writing. Quoting prices at which they will supply the commodity. The buyer
normally accepts the tender which is lowest. 5. Cost of Production: Production cost is made up of
prime cost and factory overheads. The prime cost comprises of costs of direct materials, labour and
direct expenses. If the producer has to pay more for costs of production, such producer will charge
higher price for his final production in order to cover his cost of production. All things being equal, a
higher cost of production tends to reduce supply, while a lower cost of production tends to increase
supply and this will have a great impacts on the price. 6. Government Fiscal Policy: Government
fiscal policy has to do with taxation, if government policy is to increase revenue through taxation,
taxes will be increased. Different types of taxes such as custom duties, Import duties, exercise duties,

Literary Analysis Of Tenzing Norgay And Sir Edmund Everest
The rugged ascent of Mount Everest is every insane climbers dream, but nightmare at the same time.
The steep and deadly slopes of the towering Mountain are illustrated and portrayed in the minds of the
readers throughout the abstract and meaningful poem; The Summit. This poem is all about the intrepid
and enduring journey up Mount Everest, taken on by the courageous pioneers; Tenzing Norgay and Sir
Edmund Hillary in the year of 1953. The poem itself uses various different types of language features
to hook and intrigue the readers.
On they plodded, Martian weird, With pouted mask and icicle beard in these lines the poem talks
about the equipment Hillary and Tenzing used on their expedition. The author uses a metaphor to
describe how they looked like during the climb really adds effect and again can make you imagine that
all their gear and masks made them look weird like martians, the metaphor used in these lines really
helps to paint a picture of the situation in the reader s mind. It shows you what they went through and
what they had to do to reach their goal. The lines also show you that you have to be a little weird and
step out of your comfort zone to fulfill your goals and dreams. Confidence is essential for success.
Every single one of the lines in The Summit has some sort of deeper meaning behind them. For
instance, here are a couple of lines extracted from the poem; Their steps were weary, keen was the
wind, Fast vanishing their oxygen fuel, These lines present to the reader how dangerous and punishing
the journey was. The climbers were tired and worn to the soul, you can tell this from line Their steps
were weary. One of the lines; keen was the wind, This line includes personification, meaning; the
wind was keen to do what it does best; blowing and gusting. This highlights the harsh environment the
climbers had to endured through throughout the entirety of their journey. Fast vanishing their oxygen
fuel , this line proves how risky the adventure genuinely was, it also shows that you didn t have a say
in how much long you had time you had to live on Everest, in reality, your oxygen tanks and the
gruelling weather did. In fact the climbers would have to sleep with one eye open just to

Brunelleschi s Influence To The Renaissance
In 1418, the town fathers of Florence realized they had to face a major problem. Il Duomo, the
cathedral that was built to best all others, was missing its roof. This cathedral had been constructed in
1296 to commemorate Florence s new status as one of the most prosperous cities in Europe. The
cathedral would serve as a symbol of this new Florence. The town fathers had a vision of a colossal
dome that would rise to the heavens without support, pulling one s attention upwards. The only
obstacle was that the technology at the time could not accommodate a dome of the scale as planned,

His biggest influence was most likely founding architecture as a separate and unique branch of art.
This established architects as more than just laborers and helped raise their status. Architects and other
artists in general received more credit for their work. Another similarly important influence
Brunelleschi had was popularizing the classical style by visiting and examining the ruins of Rome.
This helped repair the disintegrated reputation of Rome. This also established a new idea of beauty
that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These rules
helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom. Brunelleschi s
creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This revolutionary
technology ignited a new reliance on science and technology until the point where math and the arts
were inseparably intertwined. Brunelleschi s construction of the dome of Il Duomo clearly shaped the
Renaissance by raising the status of artists and architects, reviving the classical style and creating a

A Short Story
She d been in his apartment for a matter of minutes, and Elena was already naked and about to sink to
her knees to suck his cock. Brett couldn t help but feel a little guilt, and possibly shame, run through
this veins, even as his erection throbbed in his pants. No one normally needing to pay a woman for sex
him, and even though there was a purpose behind it, that still didn t sit well with him. Neither did the
fact that his employee s dates usually at least wined and dined them first, with sex, if it occurred desert

It didn t help that as he pressed his erection into Elena s ass, and felt he warm smooth skin under this

When he finally reached the button, and freed his erection, Brett closed his eyes briefly, and rested this

That exclamation came unbidded from his lips, the man s body shuddering in pleasure and mouth
falling open as he witnessed at the sensation of Elena s hands stroking his shaft, and the next sound
that came from his mouth was a long groan of pleasure, where her lips kissed the tip of his cock, then

they raised to him, eyes fluttering in his head, and hewas utterly incapable of responding to her
comment about the champagne. Which might had just given the answer to what he thougt, along with
the reactions of his body.
Panting, his fingers tightened their grip in her hair, and he pumped his his lowly into her mouth,
caught between watching her lips suckle and slide up his shaft, and the flick of her tongue, and
keeping his eyes on hers. Unable to talk, when he felt the tip hit the back of her throat, he bit his lip
and his entire body arched as his head fell back, unconsiously tugging at he hair, and releasing a growl
of pure arousal. Damn, she was fucking good, and Brett was almost relieved, when she pulled him

Dreams And Dreams Are Important Or Meaningless Essay
Dreams have been around since the beginning of time. There is often controversy over whether or not
dreams are important or meaningless. Although many people believe that dreams are pointless and
have no meanings to them, research and experimentation show that there can be many different
interpretations of dreams. Dreams are hallucinations of the sleeping mind (Loftus Ketcham). Dreams
can be very vivid, loud, and even emotional. This is why it is easy to confuse them with reality.
Dreams are kind of like taking all of a person s wishes and emotions and putting them all in a little
shadow world (Bynum) when they go to sleep at night. What is common in all these dreams is
obvious. They completely satisfy wishes excited during the day which remain unrealized. They are
simply and undisguisedly realizations of wishes. (Freud). A person may be experiencing an emotion or
wishing for something without even realizing it at all. Dreams can sometimes show a person how they
are truly feeling without even their own awareness of these feelings or wishes. A lot of a person s
reality and emotions are used in their dreams, however, this is not always the case. Dreams can also be
extremely bizarre, confusing, and even repetitive. This is where the interpretation of dreams comes
into action. Many people find it hard to believe that when they have a dream over and over again that
it does not mean anything. These types of dreams are called recurring dreams. Recurring dreams
happen

Overexpression Case Study
p16INK4a overexpression in pre malignant lesions
Several pieces of evidence suggested that the ability to bypass senescence is the main molecular
mechanism involved in the progression of pre malignant to malignant cells (Braig 2005; Collado
2007). This hypothesis is based on the concept of oncogene induced senescence, which was
established after demonstration of p53 and p16Ink4a mediated senescent like arrest in response to
expression of oncogenic Ras in normal primary cells (Collado 2007). This event (OIS) has been
considered as highly possible mechanism to prevent proliferation of incipient cancer cells (Sinha
2015). Consistent with this concept, senescent cells have been shown in a number of different benign
lesions, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
p16INK4a methylation could thus have a diagnostic application; it can be used in the differential
diagnosis from pre malignant and malignant lesions (Feng 2015).
OIS is emerging as a potent cancer protective response to oncogenic events, serving to eliminate early
neoplastic cells from the proliferative pool. Kuilman et al. (2008) reported a unique role of interleukin
6 (IL 6) in OIS of cancer cells. Using combined genetic and bioinformatic analysis, they found that
OIS was linked specifically to the activation of an inflammatory transcriptome. Induced genes
included IL 6, which upon secretion by senescent cells acted mitogenically in a paracrine fashion
(Kuilman 2008). IL 6 was also required for the execution of OIS, but in a cell autonomous fashion. Its
depletion caused the inflammatory network to collapse and abolished senescence entry and
maintenance. They also demonstrated that C/EBPβ cooperated with IL 6 to amplify the activation of
the inflammatory network, including IL 8. In human colon adenomas, IL 8 specifically colocalized
with arrested, p16INK4a positive epithelium. They proposed a model in which the context dependent
cytostatic and pro mitogenic functions of interleukins contribute to connect senescence with an
inflammatory phenotype and cancer. The role of role of IL 6 in OIS has been confirmed by later

However, in spite of these challenges the six dimensions of health are the keys to living a quality and
prosperous life. My objective is to identify three of the six dimensions of health, and explain why they

A life without spiritual wellness is like traveling without a destination; because there are no
expectations or a sense of guidance. Spiritual wellness is one of the three strongest dimensions of
wellness in my life. Spiritual wellness is primarily one of my strongest because its one that influences
my purpose of life and plays a very intricate part in my daily routines. For example, I m a very
religious person who practices Christianity which helps me boost my spiritual wellness. Christianity
allows me to build my faith in God and to follow his beliefs and principles. As a result of reading my
bible and learning religious principles overtime my morals will reflect this for the good of others. For
example, just as good Samaritans in the bible gave to those in need, I have learned to give back to my
community through participating in the AmeriCorps Vista program which is a volunteer program
whereby people can do community service. The opportunity of providing this community service also
gave me the chance to give to the poor. Participating in such events requires a person to posses a sense
of love, and compassion which are some the key characteristics of a spiritually well person.
Furthermore, since I have discovered Christianity, my life has been full of purpose, guidance, love,
joy, compassion, and the ability to give. According to Galatians chapter five and

Creon would never in a million suspected Antigone to have broken his law because Creon views
women as being submissive to men and not brave enough to do such as a bold act. Once the Guard
capture Antigone caught in the act of trying to finish the burial of Polynieces, Creon is in disbelief
because the perpetrator of the crime is not a man but a girl. When Creon asks Antigone if she bury her
brother, she answers I admit I did it. I won t deny that. (Sophocles 500). She does not hesitate when
she tell Creon that she bury actually she proudly admits what she did and justify her act because it is
the will of the gods which upset Creon even more Here she again displays her proud contempt having
done the act, she boast of it (Sophocles 546 547). Creon does not even talk directly to Antigone at first
but face the Chorus Leader because is still in shock a girl would be brave enough to break the law and
disobey him. Later Creon and Antigone began to argue whether or not it is right or wrong for

Description Of A Man s Voice
We sat on a cheap wooden bench in the security room in the back of Lord and Taylor, our bags lay on
their sides, the contents spilled across the concrete floor. Little white tags hung from the fabric, a few
seams were noticeably ripped along the side ribbing of the clothing. Computer screens encompassed
the room, the surveillance footage rotated intermittently from Camera 1 to Camera 2 to Dressing
Room Camera. The man s voice was barely audible through the wall behind me, as he called my
parents and the authorities. He came back into the room with the woman who had grabbed my arm as
I exited the department store, announcing that the price for all of the products I had stolen totaled to
approximately $1,300 though he hadn t calculated in the damages of the torn clothing where the
security buttons were ripped out. My best friend, better known as my fellow thief, called her mom to
retrieve us. I used the thick silence of that car ride to prepare something mitigating to say to my
mother. When I delicately, respectfully, quietly entered the foyer, my mom sat waiting, drilling me
with questions. As I entered the foyer, my mom, who had been undoubtedly stewing in her own
thoughts as she awaited my arrival, drilled me with questions. Why would you do this? Because it s
fun. Who made you do this? As if I can t make my own decisions and fuck up my life on my own.
How long has this been going on? I told her once before but in reality it had been going on for a while.
WHY? Why not?

Elizabeth Barrett Browning s Sonnet 43
How do I love thee? The infamous Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning is both thought
provoking and lovely, with a somewhat melancholy undertone. How has this small poem shaped the
way we as a human race view love, and how is it that most of us know those first few powerful lines
by memory? Love, of course, it a life changing coarse altering step that nearly everyone strives for.
With millions of songs, films, and plays all shouting out their desperation for love and mutual
affection, it s no wonder that when this small poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning is uttered, many of
us know the words by heart or are at least familiar. Love plays such a role in our day to day lives that
Browning knew it had to be put into words. The melancholy

Effects of Leadership Style In The Walt Disney Company if there was an authoritarian leader it would
affect group communication immensely because the employees need to be creative and because
authoritarian leaders make decisions, give the orders, and generally control all activities (Beebe

  • 3. Code Of Conduct Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The... They were not allowed to lay down arms and had to defend the defenseless. Along with seeking wonders, they were not allowed to hurt anyone and had to refrain from attacking each other. They had to fight for and give their lives for their country. They could not break faith and had to practice religion with heroic effort. They had to be honest about their experience whether it be honorable or disgraceful and they had to be hospitable to everyone by ability. The code of the knights of the Round Table was known as Pentecostal oath and was used to swear in every Knight every year at the time of Pentecost. The roundtable was also known as the order of chivalry in king Arthurs court. After some time, every knight considered among the best and the bravest sought admission to the most noble order of the Round Table. (Grosset ,Dunlap Maolry,King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, pg. 85 90,1919) The establishing of the Knights of the Round Table teaches us that we need to follow basic code of conduct. This basic code of conduct is to treat each other with respect, be courageous, have honor in our actions, do not hurt anyone, stand up for what is right and be honest. Because the Knight of the round table followed this code Camelot became known for how chivalrous, safe, and good it was. As a result, common people of the land placed immense trust and faith in the knights which led them to try and emulate it among themselves to live up to their heroes expectations. ... • 4. A Brief Note On Science And The Nineteenth Century Faith v.s Science Sunya Hassan History 10 Faith vs. Science in the Nineteenth Century Throughout history, the comparison of faith and science have caused debate between our historians. However, they can agree that the nineteenth century was somewhat of a blurred line in American history to determine where the population s allegiance laid. While the Second Great Awakening riled up a lot of devout Baptists and Methodists, science had also taken a toll with the Industrial Revolution. Which is still one of the most significant economic changes in American history to date. And although Darwin s finds did not occur in the US, the effects of his theory of evolution made men and women in the states question their beliefs and faith in religion. Technological developments also created issues for the church as they were losing grip of power on their believers. Even though religion played a large role in the early nineteenth century, given the facts, science and innovation captured the interest of America s people and undermined their faith. Although faith was not the leading candidate for winning over the allegiance, faith in religion runs deep down to the foundations of America. The early settlers, such as the pilgrims, ran from Europe to practice their own faith without the accusation of heresy. Puritanism was a religious reform movement that sought to purify the Church of England. Their philosophy of a city upon a hill caused the United States to strive for ... • 5. Cultural Appropriation Has Been A Major Issue Of Interest CULTURAL APPROPRIATATION Since time immemorial cultural appropriation has been a major issue of interest to the extent it is discussed and analyzed using different opinions by people. Cultural appropriation entails the use or adoption of another culture s elements either by an individual or group of people. It has been customary among the people in the world who lend and borrow each other s cultures which has continued for long since the human society began(Sanders 46). Controversies might arise in cases when the elements of a minority culture are borrowed by the groups or individuals from the majority culture. Such actions are seen as inappropriate copying of the rights or identity of another culture. In such scenarios, culture elements would be said to have been adopted using the colonial manner. The failure to use the elements within the original context of a given culture is termed as wrong culture misappropriation. In most times, when cultural misappropriation takes place there is distortion of elements which can also be lost. The subordination of the cultural elements by the majority culture would involve the social, economic or the political aspect. Then dominant or majority culture might adopt the elements of a different culture and brand it as fashion. On the other hand, a different perspective and view is used to determine the necessity of cultural appropriation and how it has continuously been adopted by different cultures all over the world (Matthes 65). • 6. The Effect Of Transfer Pricing On Shareholders Of... Transfer pricing assist companies in allocating their profits among the various countries in which they operate. However, we found that in recent years, multinational corporations have been taking advantage of the arm s length principle to transfer intellectual property that is difficult to value in order to avoid taxes in high tax jurisdictions. This poses an ethical dilemma for executives of corporations on whether or not they are paying their fair share of taxes and raises the question on how the U.S. government can reform the current system in place to encourage companies to behave ethically. We examine the effects of transfer pricing on shareholders of multinational corporations and the United States government through a case study on Apple. Apple was able to successfully dodge billions of taxes in the U.S. through the use of aggressive transfer pricing with their Irish subsidiaries. We found that Apple was never fined by the IRS because they were exploiting a loophole in the arm s length principle. While shareholders stand to profit from aggressive transfer pricing practices, they must be aware of the risk that aggressive transfer pricing imposes and be aware of companies motivations and morals for engaging in transfer pricing. The negative financial effects on the government were evident and we propose a three part solution to restructure the rules for transfer pricing to promote multinationals to act morally. First, we propose that the IRS get rid of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Outline the three components of the information security triangle and list one violation example for each 1. Confidentiality. Confidentiality means to limit the access to information and access to only authorized users. This also means preventing accessing to unauthorized users. • 8. Explain One Possible Cause Of The Great Human Migration 1. Identify and explain one example of non historical evidence for human migration out of Africa. Throughout his article, The Great Human Migration, Guy Gugliotta analyzes various evidence that support the theory of human migration out of Africa. Gugliotta explains how scientists use mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on only from one s mother and has a fast mutation rate, to trace modern humans origin. By analyzing modern mitochondrial DNA and working backwards, scientists have found that a woman alive in Africa 200,000 years ago had the mitochondrial DNA that is found in people alive today. The woman was named Eve and she is, what scientists call, our most recent common ancestor. DNA evidence showed that she lived in Africa, which supports the out of Africa theory because it proves that modern humans originated in Africa. These findings link Africa as the hearth of modern humans all over the world and demonstrates that early humans migrated out of Africa. 2. Identify and explain one possible cause of the great migration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As recent scientific evidence shows, Africa may have suffered from a lack of water roughly 100,000 years ago. Since water is essential for human life, the absence of precipitation may have caused early humans to migrate to other parts of the world. Scientists found evidence which establishes that modern humans were separated into small, dispersed groups due to the droughts. After the droughts ended, people decided to migrate to parts of Asia in order to ensure survival. The African people did not want to risk another drought, so they decided to begin emigrating out of Africa and exploring the rest of the world. The water deficiency in Africa may have caused modern humans to migrate out of Africa and begin inhabiting other regions of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The new VP suggested to divisional CIOs to unify the systems and management which was a no go from the leaders. DIOs were so imbedded with individualism that the unified system and management seemed to them loosing the power and control which led for rejection. To implement a centralized system which delivers new products/services, company s value and fast customer service Vince was forced to fire four CIOs who thought the centralized system will not work and tried to sabotage the implementation process. • 10. Analysis Of Survival In Auschwitz By Primo Levi In a world with billions of people there are bound to be countless opinions of how society should be run. Some believe that every person should be treated with respect and equality, while others see a distinct division between those who deserve humane treatment and those who do not. In his autobiography, Survival in Auschwitz, Primo Levi reveals just how greatly this difference has influenced the lives of millions by recalling his experience in the infamous concentration camp, Auschwitz. Primo Levi is caught between colliding cultures; while part of his book is dedicated to criticizing the SS officers for their cruelty, a greater focus is placed on the tactics that he adopted in order to survive in the camp, both mentally and physically. Levi s transition from a life of comfort ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While this may seem counterintuitive and that Levi could have benefitted from holding on to hope, he explains that, in the face of driving necessity and physical disabilities many social habits and instincts are reduced to silence (Levi 187). To put faith in the unlikely chance of being rescued and reunited with family would prove to be wasteful because that energy could have been better used to accumulate necessary survival tactics. However, his most distinct survival tactic was his reliance upon others. He particularly found life within Lorenzo, a man who, was outside this world of negation , and whose humanity was pure and uncontaminated (Levi 122). Most other prisoners looked out solely for themselves and neglected social interaction, which therefore caused loneliness to build on top of the rest of their suffering. By allowing himself to confide in Lorenzo, [He] managed not to forget that [he himself] was a man (Levi 122). Advantage And Disadvantage Of Pneumatics Introduction The technology of Pneumatics deals with the application and uses of a compressible gas such as air or a suitable pure gas but hydraulics uses an incompressible liquid such as oil. The application started to grow due to a gradual shift towards automated machines and equipment. The introduction of pneumatics in manufacturing has introduced the cheaper mode of production in wide areas of application such as Packaging machinery, Bottle filling Industry, artificial heart, logic control systems and robotic materials handling devices etc. Due to several advantages, pneumatics is preferred over hydraulics. The first compressors were seen around 3000 B.C. to provide small blows of air to aid in starting fire. In around 1500 B.C, these simple devices were evolved into larger units and used in metal smelting. Around the 18th century, mechanical compressors were used to do useful work, any many experiments were done to test the power and applicability of pneumatic systems. Pneumatics was used to power a tunneling project in Mt. Cenis, located in the Alps. If traditional drilling methods were used (manual) the project would have taken around 30 long years. By using pneumatic drills, the tunnel was completed in just 14 years and was open to traffic in 1871. This project caught the attention of many government agencies and they began to talk of compressor stations for city wide power consumption. (6) Paris was actually the first city to try pneumatics in 1888 when a 65 horsepower (HP) rated compressor fed 4 miles of main wire with 30 miles of branch circuits delivering 90 psi. By 1891 the capacity of the motor was increased to 25,000 HP. Electricity would become the most convenient on large scale energy transmission while pneumatics were used in more industrial applications including power, process, and control ... My fear going into this week is that I won t be able to tell when a kid is having a low blood sugar or a high one. I know what signs to look out for but I don t have a lot of experience with this in kids. Kids are different on they present than adults so the fear is not recognizing it fast enough to get help for the child. What I think that I will contribute to the camp team is that I will be able to help with recognizing signs more quickly of hypo and hyperglycemia even though I still need some work. I think this will be beneficial because there may be members of the team that are less experienced so having someone that has at least seen this once will help. The previous experience that I have had with medically fragile children is going to CCK for a weekend during diabetes weekend and seeing a glimpse of children with this disease. I got to interact with the kids and play with them as if they had nothing wrong with them. The kids that were there were amazing to see on how they were coping with the disease versus their parents. Also what else was neat to see is how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indeed, each district has its own personality and offers different events throughout the year. The manager of each district is in charge of these activities and their primary goal is to always drive customers and tourists into their districts. For example, the Small Business Saturday is an event that is held, each year, the day after Black Friday and the main goal of each district is to get business to their stores and to celebrate with the community. For these small businesses, this time of the year is extremely important and many of them rely on the holiday season to accomplish their annual sales. (Orlando Sentinel, 2015). This year is not different, the Mills50 district is going to hold the Small Business Saturday and it needs a little bit of help to stand out of the rest. Audubon Park is one of the Orlando Districts and an indirect competitor of Mills 50. This park has done similar activities in the past and last year for the Small Business Saturday event they did a raffle for cash. The event was successful in getting business to the local stores and this year they are planning on following along with the Ivanhoe District in their annual Sip and Stroll. According to Fresh Market (2016), the event is scheduled to take place on November 26th. However, to set the right price for any commodity or service, some parameters or determinants come to play. Among the determinants of factoring price are: Tender Sales by Auction Haggling etc, and these are discussed below. 1. The prime cost comprises of costs of direct materials, labour and direct expenses. If the producer has to pay more for costs of production, such producer will charge higher price for his final production in order to cover his cost of production. Il Duomo, the cathedral that was built to best all others, was missing its roof. The town fathers had a vision of a colossal dome that would rise to the heavens without support, pulling one s attention upwards. The only obstacle was that the technology at the time could not accommodate a dome of the scale as planned, with a diameter of 180 feet. This also established a new idea of beauty that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These rules helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom. Brunelleschi s creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This revolutionary technology ignited a new reliance on science and technology until the point where math and the arts were inseparably intertwined. • 23. Dreams And Dreams Are Important Or Meaningless Essay Dreams have been around since the beginning of time. There is often controversy over whether or not dreams are important or meaningless. Although many people believe that dreams are pointless and have no meanings to them, research and experimentation show that there can be many different interpretations of dreams. Dreams are hallucinations of the sleeping mind (Loftus Ketcham). Dreams can be very vivid, loud, and even emotional. This is why it is easy to confuse them with reality. Dreams are kind of like taking all of a person s wishes and emotions and putting them all in a little shadow world (Bynum) when they go to sleep at night. What is common in all these dreams is obvious. They completely satisfy wishes excited during the day which remain unrealized. They are simply and undisguisedly realizations of wishes. (Freud). A person may be experiencing an emotion or wishing for something without even realizing it at all. Dreams can sometimes show a person how they are truly feeling without even their own awareness of these feelings or wishes. A lot of a person s reality and emotions are used in their dreams, however, this is not always the case. Dreams can also be extremely bizarre, confusing, and even repetitive. This is where the interpretation of dreams comes into action. Many people find it hard to believe that when they have a dream over and over again that it does not mean anything. These types of dreams are called recurring dreams. Recurring dreams happen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overexpression Case Study p16INK4a overexpression in pre malignant lesions Several pieces of evidence suggested that the ability to bypass senescence is the main molecular mechanism involved in the progression of pre malignant to malignant cells (Braig 2005; Collado 2007). This hypothesis is based on the concept of oncogene induced senescence, which was established after demonstration of p53 and p16Ink4a mediated senescent like arrest in response to expression of oncogenic Ras in normal primary cells (Collado 2007). OIS is emerging as a potent cancer protective response to oncogenic events, serving to eliminate early neoplastic cells from the proliferative pool. Kuilman et al. (2008) reported a unique role of interleukin 6 (IL 6) in OIS of cancer cells. Using combined genetic and bioinformatic analysis, they found that OIS was linked specifically to the activation of an inflammatory transcriptome. Induced genes included IL 6, which upon secretion by senescent cells acted mitogenically in a paracrine fashion (Kuilman 2008). IL 6 was also required for the execution of OIS, but in a cell autonomous fashion. Its depletion caused the inflammatory network to collapse and abolished senescence entry and maintenance. They also demonstrated that C/EBPβ cooperated with IL 6 to amplify the activation of the inflammatory network, including IL 8. In human colon adenomas, IL 8 specifically colocalized with arrested, p16INK4a positive epithelium. They proposed a model in which the context dependent cytostatic and pro mitogenic functions of interleukins contribute to connect senescence with an inflammatory phenotype and cancer.
