What Does Giving Back To The Community Mean
To me the meaning of giving back to the community means to help and take care of the community
and volunteer to help plant a tree or paint a fence. It s just time out of your day that you set apart to not
be selfish and help the community that gives you your home and plant a little flower that can help a
bee produce honey. In our day and age it s more common to see selfish people who rather see the local
economy suffer then get their hands dirty. But i think giving back to the community is fun because it s
time you can bond with your friends or family. Doing community work is also so great for you to
experience how helping others can make such a great difference. Last year my mom and i got up at 7
in the morning to go pick up trash around

Sex Education Vs Single Sex Schools
Single sex schools, the new and improved way of learning
In 2006 federal legislation allowed public school districts to create single gender schools and
classrooms for their students. That was a wise decision considering single sex schools have been
proven to benefit students. Although society insist that coed school is a superior learning style and is
key to getting better grades they are wrong, single sex schools actually have a better history with the
educational performance of their students and due to that their students are acknowledged to obtain a
more profound career path.
The main purpose of attending any type of school is to gain knowledge and further your knowledge
successfully. In 2010, 78.2 percent of high school students in coed schools graduated on time. On the
other hand the single sex schools received higher percentages across the board. Eagle Academy in
New York, the state s first public all male school, reported an 82 percent graduation rate for the same
time period. Correspondingly, the young Women s Leadership Charter School in Chicago reported a
100 percent graduation rate(NASSPE). The main cause for the percent differences are that students in
single sex schools are less distracted by their peers and surroundings. The main argument in favor of
single sex schooling is that both males and females learn differently, teachers can better educate their
students if they are all the same gender because they can employ specific strategies to enhance their

High School Is The Best Time Of My Life
My time throughout high school was the best time of my life, I wished I would have realized sooner
how terrible of a student I was. I look back and think how much harder I could have tried, things I
could have done different, and how it has changed me. I don t have a single regret, because not only
was it a lesson learned but it was humorous along the way. I was never the best person at studying, in
fact I was terrible at it. I am the biggest procrastinator, the phrase, due tomorrow, do tomorrow I know
all too well. I knew I would have an upcoming assignment due, a test to study for, and I would still
wait until the very last second to get it done it never failed. While the teacher was going around giving
points for homework I was still scrambling to get all of mine complete. I would always get the
question Corey, did you forget to do your homework? Last minute, scrambling to get it done? I didn t
realize until much later how important it is to limit yourself from distractions. One of the funniest
moments I can remember was an afternoon in my English class. I sat right beside of my best friend
Emily, sometimes I wonder how she done it, how she put up with me and my shenanigans. There wasn
t a time I wasn t asking her for answers to a test, or an assignment, or just talking while distracting her
at the same time. This one day in particular I was really out of it, my teacher was instructing and here I
am just completing disregarding what she was saying. It was after

Disclosure Of Leases On Company Financial Statements
In 1949 the AICPA released ARB No. 38 over the disclosure of leases on company financial
statements. Before this bulletin it was not normal for the lessee to disclose the fact that the company
was in a contract long term lease of an asset. The Accounting Institute of Certified Public Accountants
felt that investors and other decision making personnel should have the right to know about leases in
which a company was contractually bound. The committee states in this bulletin that when it clearly
evident that the lessee will have ownership of the asset after all payments are made, that the lessee
should account for this in the assets and liabilities of the company s Balance Sheet. The committee
believes that the AICPA issued the opinion that all long term leases should be disclosed in the
financial statements or the footnotes. These disclosures include the payment amounts and other
obligations assumed not only in the year in which they occurred but any material amounts in the life
of the lease. (Committee on Accounting Procedure, American Institute of Accountants, 1949)
Although, the main point of this bulletin was to address long term leases, the AICPA never formally
defines what it means by a long term lease which can be assumed to be what modern day accounting
defines as a capital lease. The purpose of the bulletin was not to address short term leases (now called
operating leases) because there was no exchange of rights in these situations. Although the above
opinion was

British Secret Intelligence MI6 Essays
British Secret Intelligence:
MI6
Introduction Hello Mr. Bond. The character, James Bond, usually comes to mind when one thinks of
the British agency MI6. An agency that enables its agents to have a license to kill, enabling them to do
anything, at any cost to achieve the greater good, with the head of the agency M sitting behind a desk
giving orders. This sounds like an agency that anyone would love to work for. In reality, it is an
agency that has been through several wars and has evolved over the years with lies, secrets, and
betrayal (Corera, 2011).
At one point the British Secret Intelligence, often known as MI6, was very similar to the fictional
James Bond character. The agents in the beginning did not necessarily have a ... Show more content

History
The British Secret Intelligence Service is one of the oldest surviving foreign intelligence gathering
organizations in the spy world. MI6 was founded in October 1909, originally as the Foreign Section of
the new Secret Service Bureau. The man behind the curtain that established the organization was
Commander Mansfield Cumming (Thomas, 2009). In the beginning, the agency was surrounded with
so much secrecy that it was difficult to get the agency off of the ground to meet its desired potential.
However, by the end of 1909, Cummings was able to successfully create an organization devoted to
the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence (Jeffery, 2010). As much as the agency was
Cummings brainchild, the wheels starting to spin early in 1909 when a sub committee was put
together to outline a plan to get Great Britain back into the intelligence collection business. The sub
committee initially wanted a secret service bureau that would be in close contact with the War Office,
Admiralty, and the Home Office (Corera, 2012). It would need to have three guidelines in place to
follow: 1) serve as a middle between the Admiralty and the War Office for foreign spies who want to
sell information to the government, 2) branch out to various parts of Great Britain to keep in touch
with local constables to ascertain the nature and degree of espionage that is

Walmart Case
June 1, 2011
MEMORANDUM
TO: H. LEE SCOTT
FROM: JOHN DOE JD
SUBJECT: WALMART CASE
This memo is in response to the requested analysis of the overall position of Walmart. The memo will
first discuss the current position of Walmart. This will be followed by two issues, woman working in
walmart not getting paid as much as men as well as not having very many upper management
positions, and the perception that Walmart ruins small communities way of life once they open up
their doors. The memo will then give a reccommendation for how to fix and improve the company to
allow it to prosper in the future.
Overview
Walmart is successful by following a cost leadership strategy. Their sales revenues were $375 billion
in 2008 but their profit was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the issue of unequal pay and rights for woman working for Walmart, the company can take several
steps to repair this damage. First, the company can correct the problem and pay the woman employees
the same as male s with similar work experience. Secondly, the company can improve its public image
from this situation by providing college scholarships to girls, or by sponsoring woman s equality
events. Finally, Walmart can offer more upper level management positions for females who are
equally qualified for the position as any other male (similar to affirmative action). For the issue of
destroying small communities way of life, Walmart can take several steps to show that Walmart helps
the communities it comes to and does not destroy small businesses. According to several economists,
Wherever a Walmart opens up, all of the surrounding businesses next to it flourish because of the large
traffic flow of customer s flowing in and out of the shopping center. Walmart needs to use its PR
personal and a neutral third party to verify that Walmart is beneficial to the communities it opens its
doors in both economically and in a socially responsible manner. The company must continue its
efforts to provide for the communities it serves, and be quick to act in communities that face
unexpected tragedies like New Orleans did with Katrina. These are a

Essay about Porter s 5 in Mining Industry
1. Porters 5 forces Analysis:
1.1 Buyer power:
The buyers for mining industry usually have medium to high power. There are two elements that could
affect the buyer s power. One is buyer s level of negotiation; the other is buyer s price sensitivity. In
our case, the two companies are producing coal and uranium. These two products are mainly used for
producing electricity. Buyers for these natural resources must have large quantity of demand, and also
they usually have government behind them for negotiation. Even through these natural resources are
unrenewable and limited, there are other mining companies producing them and these resources are
undifferentiated from other companies products. This makes the buyers have high ... Show more

1.3 Rivalry among existing firms:
The competition of mining industry is medium to high. One major competition for mining industry is
the competition for resources and mines, which is different from other industries. Since the resources
are limited and unrenewable, together with the continues increasing demand for energy, such as coal
demand of China and India, the battle of exploiting and developing new mines are intensive. Also,
there are many competitors in the industry. However, since the exit barriers are high, the competition
is limited within the existing companies. Companies in the industry might battle for larger market
share but facing little threat of new entries. Thus, the competition in the industry is concluded as
medium to high.
1.4 Threat of new entrants:
New entrants may pose a threat to the company by introducing new innovative products at a
competitive prices and eating into their market share and customer loyalty. The threat of entry for the
coal and uranium industry tends to be low due to high entry barriers. The reason for this is the
government regulations and restriction on coal and uranium mining companies. Resources of coal and
uranium are laminated. The capital expenditure or set up of mining company is very high. Moreover,
mining companies has a high exit cost and that because the use of specialized asset. Also,

Diomedes Poetry Analysis
Then, when the Achaeans start loosing, Athena and Hera harness Heras chariot and put on their armor.
When they get Zeus approval to aid the Acheans, they fly to the battlefield, and Hera gives courage to
the Achaean forces.Athena flies to Diomedes to remind him that she will protect him and that there
should be no reason to be afraid, in fact, she criticizes him. Diomedes replies that Ares is dominating
the battle resulting Athena to get into Diomedes chariot to attack Ares. With Athena s help, Diomedes
spears Ares; In a panic, Ares flies away. The gods constantly intervene in the war, and to some extent,
the tides of war can be measured by a gods intervention. Usually, when a god arrives, it changes the
outcome on the battlefield, as soldiers will are given new courage. With Athena s help, Diomedes
glory reaches its peak as he spears the god of war himself. The passage is interesting because it
suggests the relationship between free will and divinity in the poem. Diomedes deemed a strong
fighter, and yet he s dependent upon the gods for support. He not a free agent: instead, he needs the
help of gods and goddesses. In this way, the passage reinforces why religion and divine worship are so
important in the poem: without the gods maneuvering them, the characters couldn t accomplish much.
Finally, the gods intervention is a reinforcement that the battle between Achaea and Troy is a battle
between groups of gods in conflict. At the beginning of book four, the

Francis Ford Coppola, The Visionary Director Of The...
Francis Ford Coppola is the visionary director of the Godfather. He is credited with transforming the
entire cinema industry. Joss Whedon is the not so visionary director of Avengers Age of Ultron.
Whedon recently compared himself to Coppola when he said: I tried to make age of Ultron in a
similar style to Godfather. The mix of action and drama has a perfect balance I want to strike in my
film. Well I can tell you now Joss that you failed. Cutting every 2 seconds so the audience doesn t
notice the CGI in no way compares to Coppola s subtlety and tension. If Joss Whedon is the new
Francis Ford Coppola, then the movie industry must be in major trouble right? Wrong, in fact it is
booming. And bad directors like Joss Whedon are not just making terrible films. They are polluting
our cinemas with rip offs, remakes and reboots. Hollywood no longer seems to care about making
good movies. They are money driven, bloated and stale. We need to demand more of the movie
industry to stop it churning out these unoriginal films.
Disney is the biggest film studio in the world in terms of market share. Disney s latest 5 films are Star
Wars VII, The Jungle Book, Finding Dory, Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast. That is 3 remakes and
two sequels. But why is this? Drive directed by Nicolas Refn, is an incredibly highly rated film that

Durability is the name of the game with this bike, as it is made with 6061 Double Butted Aluminum.
What that means is that the metal is thicker around the joints for extra strength, while the tubing itself
is thinner so you get the least weight possible. Overall, this is one of the lightest and strongest bikes

The Security Of Airport Security Screening
In the last thirteen years there have been major changes made in airport security. What brought the
changes and shook America to its core, is a day in history that no one will soon forget. Since 9/11, five
attempted terrorist attacks on U.S. airliners and airports have made airport security a continued
priority. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act,
which created the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and put federal employees in charge
of airport security screening (Bajoria). The process for airport security screenings lacked the ability to
secure a plane which caused the terrorist to be able to board the plane with ease. There are those that
argue that the increase in security has cost the country too much money and does more harm than
good. The U.S. has spent more than a trillion dollars to increase the security in all the airports across
the nation. According to Paul Borowsky and Gregory Delone, pilots were asked to complete surveys
to what they believed needed to be changed. In his book, the pilot wrote that policies were designed to
enhance security, however, he believed that they didn t take into consideration input from the pilots of
the airliners that the policies were made to protect. There is also the argument that the increased
security was an invasion of privacy. Passengers were having all their belongings placed on a table and
gone through which allowed other passengers to see

Definitions Of Leadership And Management
Definitions of leadership and management.
Although the interviews conducted were unstructured all three practitioners were asked for their
definition of leadership and management. It was thought that questions about leadership and
management could be interpreted in so many ways, whereas having their interpretation helped to
better understand where they were coming from. It was important to understand each individual
perception.
In the interviews conducted management was believed to generate responsibilities such as planning,
paperwork, day to day running and that health and safety is in place. Where as leadership was believed
to be more involved with what the children do, helping others perform their role, inspiring others. A
conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to be
thought of as a manager, preconceived ideas of management made the role something they did not
want to aspire to. Authoritative was a word used. Practitioners stressed on their dislike for the term
managing ,
I don t like the idea of managing, I don t think I manage (Practitioner two).
As early years practitioners, the most important aspect of the job is working with the children.
Many complain of too much paper work that takes practitioners away from working with the children,
which most enjoy and a reason for their career choice in the first place. If practitioners link managerial

Relationship Between Admissions Committee And The...
Outline: Introduction Relationship between Admissions Committee and the composition of lawyers in
the community. Law school admissions plays an active role in shaping the future of the legal
profession, as the composition of the legal profession has been largely determined by Law School
Admissions Committees. The legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally
trained individuals. The types of individuals who receive formal legal training shape the legal system
through their values, personal experiences, and identity. Since the legal system reflects the cultural,
social, and economic views of legally trained individuals, and is intended to benefit all members of
society , the admissions process has the greatest impact on the composition of the student body , and
arguably, the legal system as a whole. Admissions Criteria 1. Historically Traditionally, legal
education has been accessible only to majority social groups in Canada. In relying on GPA and LSAT
score, the student population was primarily young, upper middle class, unvaried in ethnicity, and
unrepresentative of Canada as a whole. 2. More Modern Approach Law school admissions committees
have adopted the simultaneous use of three admission categories: regular category, special admission,
and First Nations categories. The regular category relies on objective data through statistical
manipulation of LSAT and GPA data, and is the predominantly used method by admissions

Morality In International Relations
International relations have always been a very important topic. Knowing and understanding the
history of international relations is vital to learning how it has evolved and how we can handle it today
and in the future. However today our historical egoism, or the idea that we believe we are better and
more advanced than those in the past can blind us. In reality, history is a bit more complicated. We
often ask if it is a never ending march of progress or one conflict after another? The best we can do is
learn and try to create a better future. With that said, we will be looking at two important factors in
international relations: power and morals. It has been a widely debated issue whether it is better to use
power or morals in international relations. Some argue that power is the answer to international
relations, and others believe that morals are the answer. In the end, several theories, authors, and
examples can lead us closer to the aptness of international relations.
To begin with, many have argued that power is what maintains a balance between nations and what
can also lead to war. First, let s look at two major powers in the world: Europe and United States.
Their international relation structures are very different. America is more realist than Europe in the
way they use, desire, and view power. Europe s perspective is more diplomatic and sophisticated.
Europe tends to turn away from power and focuses on a creating laws and rules that world should
follow. When an

Baraque
Baroque art and architecture is known as a return to the naturalism of the Renaissance, joined with a
new element of movement and drama. The continuity of baroque art appeals to the senses. This is
known as the last great period of Italian art.
Carlo Maderno was the first architect to work in this manner and the first to inspire European artists
outside Italy to adapt to the new style.
Dutch
Dutch painters specialized in outdoor scenes, landscape, still lifes of flowers, fish, or fruit.
The greatest Dutch artist of the baroque period was Rembrandt van Rijn. He spent most of his life in

How Does Milgram Study Unethical
Milgram on Ethics A Study on Where Milgram Crossed the Line Kyle Froerer Weber State University
Upon researching Milgram s study more in depth and weighing the opinions of those who feel it is an
ethical study versus those in opposition I add my opinion to those who feel the experiment was an
unethical practice. This paper will explain more of why I feel this way. I will also provide four peer
reviewed sources supporting my argument. The first reason I find it to be unethical is because of the
ways in which subjects were lured into participating in the study. Certain people could say they
volunteered but that would require they not be compensated for their efforts in any way. Each
participant was financially compensated with $4.50 which is the equivalent of about $25.00 to today s
currency (Dollar Times, 2008). Because none of the participants were truly volunteers their actions
and subsequent test results must not be considered ethically accurate when comparing them to society
in general. Continuing on, the setting in which the participants were observed was a foreign setting all
with employing behaviors unique to that of a scientist (Baurimd, 1964). Now, coupling the foreign
setting, strange behaviors and the fact they have been paid with the principle of participant obedience,
it can be assumed that all these attributes mixed together would result in an overly obedient test
subject. To accurately study the baseline for the principle of obedience in

Impact Of John Locke Economic Inequality
The Second Treatise of Government stipulates John Locke s claim of what a civil society requires to
function. Locke discusses why people leave the state of nature (where they are free, equal and possess
natural rights) to form societies: it is convenient. Locke believes everyone is entitled to life, liberty,
and property, they are our natural rights. God, who hath given the world to men in common, hath also
given them reason to make use of it to the best advantage of life, and convenience (18). When
everything belongs to everyone resources aren t benefiting anyone, that is wasteful and unjust,
common resources need to be appropriated. Locke s view of property is: every man has a property in
his own person: this nobody has a right to body himself. The labour of his body, and the work of his
hands, we may say, are properly his (19). Locke goes on to discuss the acquisition of private property
through mixing labor with common resources to make said resources yours, this theory of property
serves as the bases for Locke s theory of freedom. That labour put a distinction between them and
common: that added, something to them more than nature, the common mother of all, had done; and
so they became his private rights (19). In this paper I will examine how Locke s view of freedom and
theory of property promote and justify economic inequality.
In the state of nature people are self sufficient but when there is conflict they are reliant on the wills of
others; to become

Fracking Essay
The Result of Fracking on the Natural Gas Industry
Introduction
Hydraulic fracturing otherwise known as fracking has flooded the market with cheap and reliable
natural gas to the exportation and power production markets all while being limited by logistics.
Emspak, J. (2014, August 12) shows that natural gas production by fracking has expanded gas
production by 32 times the amount in 2008. This lowered the cost 40% over that span of time. The
demand for clean cost efficient power production shifted production from coal fired to natural gas
plants. From 20015 20017 about nine thousand natural gas power plants were built says the U.S.
Energy Information Administration. (2017). This correlates to about one half of a million more

While this is great to the consumer, the renewable sector s growth was more stagnant. Attention was
diverted to use another greenhouse producing fossil fuel rather than a clean renewable. A trend in U.S.
Energy Information Administration s (2017) data showed renewable sector s power production since
2008 grew only 5.7% as compared to natural gas production 18%. Another disadvantage to the
diversion from renewables is the additional carbon dioxide generated from these additional plants
operating. About 24 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions are related to natural gas in 2011
(Natural gas prices. (n.d.)). The replacement of coal fired power plants with natural gas has let to a
decrease of the green house gases, mainly particulate matter and sulfur dioxide emissions. Sulfur
dioxide (SO2) emissions produced in the generation of electricity at power plants in the United States
declined by 73% from 2006 to 2015, a much larger reduction than the 32% decrease in coal fired
electricity generation over that period. U.S. Energy Information Administration (2017). This shows
that more efficient control equipment can be used to almost eliminate the trace amounts of sulfur
dioxide in natural gas.
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory found the following:
Power plants are the largest source of SO2 emissions in the United States, accounting for 64% of
economy wide SO2 emissions in 2014. Power plants

The Pros And Cons Of Lead And Acid Battery
The lead/acid battery has been in common use in automobiles since 1915 or so. It has plates of lead in
sulphuric acid solution in water. One of the sets of lead plates is coated with lead dioxide. As such a
battery discharges it creates two chemical reactions, one at the anode that ends up with an excess of
electrons, and one at the cathode that ends up short electrons.
Fuel combustion is the process of where fuel is burnt that releases heat and light which is an
exothermic reaction meaning it releases heat. The fuel is a hydrocarbon, which reacts with oxygen to
release energy however a small amount of heat energy is needed to start fuel combustion. The
products to the reaction are carbon dioxide and water.

The positive side to fuel combustion is that complete combustion (taking place where there is enough
air) releases carbon dioxide instead of carbon monoxide (which is harmful) is produced. As it may
seem as a positive aspect it still can be negative too much can cause environmental issues such as
global warming. Also carbon monoxide produced in incomplete combustion can cause smog and acid

As for car batteries the energy density is twice of standard nickel cadmium. This means battery pack

However the Lithium ion in car batteries is flammable and producing the batteries require toxic

Native Americans. One quote from the article that demonstrates this is, a holiday called Indigenous
Peoples Day will instead recognize the contributions, and suffering of Native Americans, people who
lived in the Americas before Columbus arrived. This quote demonstrates that Columbus may have
improved some lives, but he destroyed others. Every year on Columbus Day, Native Americans are
forced to celebrate the murder and theft of their people, lands, and homes. They should not be subject
to this cruelty. Another quote that shows the mistreatment of Native Americans throughout history is,
in the 1850s, California s leaders wanted to destroy the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, as the quote, estimates say smallpox killed 20 to 80 percent of Native Americans. These

demonstrates, the Native American disease epidemic was not fully Columbus s fault. Although he
helped introduced the Old World to the New World, many Europeans, over many years assisted in the
disease outbreaks that killed many natives. Columbus should not be blamed for something beyond his
control. To further prove that Columbus is not completely to blame, Native Americans were at fault
for disease epidemics as well. As it states in the article, most historians believe the Great Pox that
killed 5 million in Renaissance Europe came from the Americas. Although Europeans brought
smallpox to the Americas, Native Americans brought the Great Pox to Europe. This killed many
Europeans, so not all the deaths can be pinned on Columbus. Finally, Native Americans were not
angels, either. As it states in the text, war, slavery, and human sacrifice happened before Columbus
arrived in 1492. Native Americans also murdered, enslaved, and stole from each other before
Columbus arrived in the New World. They were also cruel and

Modem Profession
An occupation does not become a profession merely because its members decide it will be one.
Modem professions share much in common with classical professions. The Hallmarks that have come
to characterize a profession are based on a midevel models: a guild, high level of education, public
recognition, and a specialized body of knowledge.
Emanating from the existential needs of society and the professions are established and maintained by
the mutual interactions of society and professions, both collectively and individually. Therefore,
professional ethics can be seen as the explicit understanding of the relationship between the profession

The Operations Management Procedures That Will Take Place...
Operation Management
Elibah Bey
Kaplan University
In this paper, I will discuss the operations management procedure that will take place in my service
oriented salon based business. I will also describe the inputs, operations processes, and outputs that
pertain to Eli s Beauty Services . In addition, I will describe how customer needs will be addressed in
my business and the beauty shop s core competencies. Moreover, I will identify competitors, compare
my service offerings to theirs, and elaborate upon the quality unique distinction of my business from
rivals.
The Service Oriented Business
My business will provide beauty and relaxation services to customers. The services provided in my
business will be in the form of hairstyles, massages, manicures, and pedicures. Providing these
services require close and personal interaction of employees with customers (Longenecker Petty, et
al., 2013, p. 566). These services will be provided based upon the requests and desires of demanding
customers. In order for my business to be successful, all employees and myself must have close
connections with customers in order for clients to continue to return to my business for more
continuous services. Having a close relationship with customers will allow employees to understand
and more accurately serve their needs and demands (Longenecker Petty, et al., 2013, p. 566). Effective
operations management necessitates making hiring decisions by selecting employees with

Myth Of Meritocracy
The Myth of Meritocracy: Corruption in the Media and America s Education System
Two hundred and fifty years ago, America was formed as a classless society, a meritocracy based on
initiative, effort, and perseverance (Rocca 2). It was the land of equal opportunity, where power was
vested in those individuals who had earned it. Advancement in society was based on merit, not
favoritism. Those were the ideals America was built upon, but that is no longer the case. Diana
Kendall s essay Framing Class, Vicarious Living and Conspicuous Consumption and Jean Anyon s
study From Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work analyze two areas of society that foster
inequality and validate the myth of meritocracy: our class system and education system. Anyon s
essay describes the different teaching methods in fifth grade classrooms located in varying
socioeconomic communities. Through her research, she points out that students in working class
schools are treated much worse than those in affluent, elite classrooms, supporting the claim that
opportunity is not distributed fairly in our public education system. Kendall s essay investigates
another area where meritocracy should be but no longer is at work. She places blame on the media for
the growing gap between upper and lower class Americans. She analyzes the way the media shapes
our everyday lives and taints our view of class and social inequality. While both essays use logos to
build their arguments and strengthen their ethos, Kendall takes a more informal tone in her essay and
more heavily utilizes pathos. Although, rarely, does she blatantly bad mouth the media, Kendall has a
more opinionated thesis littered with negative undertones about the media s influence within society.
Anyon s summary of the study she conducted is purely qualitative data that she presents in an
unbiased manner. Although she still makes an argument, there is little to no personal opinion about the
issue. Instead, she chooses to build her ethos through clear and logical data, allowing room for the
reader to really form their own opinion about the matter and potentially investigate it further. Framing
Class, Vicarious Living and Conspicuous Consumption analyzes the influential role the

Religion Shaped Inter Cultural Interaction
Religion shaped inter cultural interaction throughout the world since man first practiced animism. By
the thirteenth century, religion evolved into numerous faiths that conflicted with one another. Conflicts
involved numerous issues such as, who is god, is the chosen god the most powerful god, how to
worship god, how one religion converts people to their religion. The issues that segregate different
cultures are endless when exploring religion. As differing religions gained strength, cultures formed
around people of similar beliefs and ideas creating dominant religions. One dominant religion, the
Catholic Church, challenged other dominant religions to convert to Christianity. Religion shaped inter
cultural interaction through power, segregation, and diplomacy. Orders Given to the Twelve provides
evidence that the Spanish Catholic Church, in New Spain, shaped inter cultural interaction with power.
The minister general, Francisco de los Angeles sent twelve apostolic Franciscan friars to New Spain to
evangelize the native people to Christianity. De los Angeles told the friars that their hardships, without
promise of reward and to death in the line of holy duty in the obediencia such a death is called the
palm of martyrdom (Francisco Angelorum, 59). The friars in their hardship would achieve admiration
from their peers and the church empowering their own desire to succeed. De los Angeles also told the

A Utopia Gone Astray By Aldous Huxley
In the technological age the World is in today, it is not hard to imagine a life built on the idea of total
perfection. As more innovations come about and humanity continues to technologically progress
toward a perfect world mankind is actually closing the gap between emotion and dystopia. A utopia
gone astray is displayed in Aldous Huxley s novel Brave New World. The technological advances
used to pursuit a flawless society ultimately cause the deterioration of human relationships. A utopian
society is a community that possess perfect qualities. In Brave New World the stride towards
perfection is aided by advanced technology. The World State has new innovations that allows people
to regularly extend human capabilities. Child Birth is no longer a natural event but instead is a
synthetic process in this futuristic world. Birth occurs outside of the women s womb and with
chemical engineering produces ...an average of nearly eleven thousand brothers and sister in a hundred
and fifty batch of identical twins, all within two years of the same age (Huxley 8). Society is separated
into different groups: Epsilon, Deltas, Gammas, Betas, and Alphas every child is created to be able to
perfectly execute the duties of their specific categorization. Productivity is a major component of life
in the World State and when people are not working they are enjoying recreational activities and
entertaining their shallow relationships. Derek D Miller explains that in the World

Open Plan Office Spaces Are Rapidly Gaining Popularity
Open plan office spaces are rapidly gaining popularity. Although the model promotes a dynamic,
collaborative space brimming with productivity, exchange of information, team harmony and the flow
of new ideas, research suggests that there are currently many issues hindering this vision within the
open plan environment. Noise from business machines, phones, and background speech can create an
environment where work focus becomes difficult. Insufficient fresh airflow and lack of privacy, both
speech and visual also contribute to dissatisfaction within the open plan workspace (Parsons Miller
2013). Although many of the physical design aspects of the open plan office may be satisfactory, more

The points of reflection must be determined and treated with frequency specific absorption panels.
This should be implemented by the architect during design (Passero Zannin 2012). A retro fit of sound
absorption panels is possible, however inconvenient. Varjo et al. (2015) carried out extensive acoustic
testing in a controlled open plan office environment. Use of acoustic absorption panels and audio
masking techniques demonstrated a reduction in irrelevant noise by up to 36dBA at the 2K position on
the frequency spectrum which is the range of human speech.
Focusing on intensive cognitive tasks can prove difficult in open plan offices. A quiet space to
concentrate on a demanding task may not exist in the design (Brown 2013). While the existence of
irrelevant background noise from phones, machines and other devices is distracting, the most common
source of distraction to those attempting cognitive tasks is the immediate speech noise of their
colleagues. The intensive cognitive tasks most affected by speech noise are: recall of information,
comprehension, following processes/order of procedures anything that requires semantic process
(Jahnke 2012). As the size of an open plan office space increases, the cognitive performance of staff
decreases due to the rise in distracting stimuli. According to Seddigh et al (2015), Results of memory
testing found that open plan office employees cognitive performance was 21% less than those in
quieter, smaller, closed offices.

Artificial Insemination In Mares
Artificial Insemination in mares has been around for quite some time. Some of the first Artificial
Insemination programs for horses were set up at the end of the 19th century. AI practices have been
around much longer than that, since it is used in other animal species. Artificial insemination programs
for equine animals aren t as advanced because it wasn t such a high priority to people back in the day

people didn t need horses like they used to back in the day. People used horses for plowing the fields,

If you apply too much pressure and puncture a hole through the reproductive tract and into the rectum
it can have serious consequences and can even be fatal to the mare. There is also an increased chance
of spreading disease if the semen isn t screened properly. Some of the most common diseases that are
passed on through semen are Contagious Equine Metritis, Equine Viral Arteritis, and Equine Infection
Anemia. These viruses are transported in the semen and can survive both chilling and freezing so any
imported semen has to undergo strict screening tests and documentation. The effects of these diseases
can be devastating to the horse population. Even though there are problems and risks associated with
artificial insemination in horses there are also benefits to it too and ways that you can mitigate the
risks. If the procedure is preformed in a vet clinic the stocks can be used to safely position the mare
for scanning and inseminating, as well as vets know how to do the procedure to that if the horse move
there is less of a risk of damaging anything. Mares can also be sedated to do the procedure if its done
on a farm where there are no stocks present. This will be more costly however because you have to
give the mare drugs to sedate her. another advantage to using AI is if you have a stallion that is

Cleopatra And Elizabeth I Research Paper
Throughout ancient times there has been many rulers who ve made history. Two of the most famous
female leaders throughout history have been Cleopatra and Elizabeth I. These two rulers had a big
impact on their nations throughout their regime. With their intelligence and wits they did a great deal
for their people. They both influenced their people and demonstrated that women could also rule a
kingdom. Cleopatra was born around the time of 69 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt. She was part of the
Ptolemaic dynasty and ascended the throne when she was 18 years old with her younger brother.
Elizabeth I was born on September 7, 1533 in Greenwich England. Elizabeth I was declared
illegitimate but she eventually claimed the throne at age 25. Cleopatra ruled from 51 B.C. to 30 B.C.
and Elizabeth I ruled from 1558 to 1603. Cleopatra and Elizabeth I both defeated plots against them,
were independent rulers, and were big supporters of the arts. However, although Cleopatra tried to

Discrimination Against Gays and Lesbians in the Workplace
The topic I have chosen for my research paper comes under the general heading of culture. Culture
may be defined as the language, beliefs, values, norms, and material objects passed from one
generation to the next. The specific topic I proposed to investigate is discrimination of homosexuals in
the workplace. This topic is particularly interesting to me because I am an advocate of equality for all.
I believe that no matter your race, age, sex, or sexual orientation you should be treated fairly. My
paper will provide an in depth look at this type of discrimination, the laws that protect the victims, and
explain how this affects our society. Finally, I will describe the insights I have gained in researching
this topic as well as pose some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some feel that same sex relationships are completely wrong and that they shouldn t be allowed
anywhere, especially in the workplace. But, there are others who are fighting for homosexual equality.
Another opinion is Don t Ask Don t Tell . Some employers feel that, if an employer s personal life is
not evident at work, he/she shouldn t make it known. They feel that what an employee does in his/her
personal life; is personal and they want to have an unbiased opinion.
From researching this topic I have gained a newfound insight about myself and the world around me.
Not only does prejudice affect your race, it also affects how you live your life, a job, and has the basic
needs in life. Homosexuals choose a life different from the norm of society and they have to deal with
the pressures of fitting in where they are told that they do not belong. It is put upon them to conform
to what society wants and not to be different. Researching discrimination against gays and lesbians in
the workplace helped me understand more about the struggles that they face. Having seen the
similarities that racism and sexual orientation have in common has made me want to research further
into the lives of homosexual persons.

distinguishes it from other theme park, is the Disney culture and the style of the park. This should not
be changed of the essence.
2. The standard for service(the rules for stuff)
On the surface, it seems that the Disneyland hasn t change the standard at all, including the handbook
of dress code and regulation. In fact, what s the efficiency of it? Is it working well? Absolutely not. It

Drinks with alcohol are not provided in the park, just as other Disney Parks do, for its concept of

Sickle Cell Disease ( Ocd )
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is an inherited autosomal recessive condition that causes the red blood cells
(RBCs) to be crescent shaped. Sickle cell disease occurs in 1 out of every 400 African Americans
births (Field, et al 2009). And according to the Centers of Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), 1
out of 13 African American babies are born with the sickle cell trait (SCT). At the same time SCD is
present in only 1 out of 300 Caucasian babies, thus it is considered to be one of the most prevalent
genetic health disparities affecting people of African, Indian, Hispanic, and Mediterranean decent
(Kotch, et al 2000).
In order for a person to have this disease, both parents have to carry the Sickle Cell Trait. This trait is
given to the parents by their parents in which one of them has the sickle cell gene S and the other has
the normal A gene. Children are diagnosed with SCD as early as 4 months old and accurately
diagnosed by the age of 6 months old.
Normal RBCs are disc shaped in which they are able to easily travel throughout the body, especially
through the tiniest blood vessels. However, with sickled shaped RBCs, they clump together while
flowing through these particularly small vessels, which causes the loss of oxygen throughout the
tissues and organs. This monogenetic disease is caused by a point mutation in the β globin gene that
creates abnormal Hemoglobin S (HbS). There are five different haplotypes for SCD that are classified
by their geographical region

Mission, By Charmaine Warford
Mission
By Charmaine Warford
June 2013
Sending out missionaries to a designated territory where they would preach the Gospel and convert
non Christians. Is this true today?
Before the Sixteenth century mission was used to describe relationships within the holy Trinity. It was
not used to describe an aspect of church life. The word missio in Latin means to send , it was used to
describe the sending of the Son by the Father, and also the sending of the Holy Spirit by the Father
and the Son. 1.
The Jesuits in Latin American in the late Sixteenth and early Seventeenth centuries started to use the

3. Barth s insight into the nature of mission came about at one of the lowest points of the Twentieth
Century when the Nazis were about to come to power. At that time Barth was teaching in Germany
and knew very well what the rise of the Nazis meant for Europe.
After the war, in 1952, when the churches were once again contemplating a renewal of mission at the
Willingen Conference of the International Missionary Council in 1952, Barth s influence took hold
and his insight was expressed and developed in the conference resolution. It makes an explicit and
important connection between church missionary work and the nature of God as Trinity:
The missionary movement of which we are a part has its source in the Triune God himself. Out of the
depths of his love for us, the Father has sent forth his own beloved Son to reconcile all things to
himself. We who have been chosen in Christ are committed to full participation in his redeeming
mission. There is no participation in Christ without participation in his mission to the world. That by
which the Church receives its existence is that by which it is also given its world mission. 4.
This was a highly significant moment in the genealogy of the word mission because it was

Acceptable For Only One Parent Consent For Medical Care
acceptable for only one parent to give consent for medical care, (FAESN, 2015); this is an important
consideration since Joanne s father does not agree with her decision to transition. The ethical dilemma
in this case example is that possible legal issues between the parents could arise. If Joanne s mother
agreed to and sought hormone treatment and her father did not agree, he could challenge the decision.
The fact that the parents have joint custody could become a factor in a legal case which could delay or
stop treatment altogether. For Joanne, time is of the essence because onset of puberty could begin at
any time (Forcier, 2015). If puberty does begin, it could cause the biological and physical changes that
Joanne desperately wants to avoid (Forcier, 2015). Further ethical consideration is needed around how
this type of treatment is not well documented or researched and can seem very experimental
(Flederbach, 2015, p. 1459). After considerable research of Rhode Island laws, I was unable to locate
a specific law regarding joint custody implications in the area of medical care. As a practitioner, it
would be important to use agency legal resources if available to research legal implications further as
the information could have a great impact on Joanne and her future treatment plans. I could also

The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman
Dramaturgical Perspective
In his book, The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, Goffman (1959) focuses on the self as a staged
production in which people actively present themselves to different audiences one encounters. To
bolster his conceptualization, Goffman used an interesting metaphor of all the world s a stage (1959,
254). This, he terms as a dramaturgical approach (Goffman 1959, 240) in which an actor puts on a
show for others; drawing analogies between human behaviors and the theater. Goffman (1959) likens
the individual to an actor on stage performing for and with other individuals involved in the situation.
Three types of space exist for the actor to perform on, to enact the self, and to interact with others: the
front stage, the backstage, the outer region. Goffman (1959) utilizes specific dramaturgical terms such
as performance, teams, front and back regions, sign vehicles, and highlights the process of dramatic
realization. These terms will be discussed in the following sections.
Performance. The interactions are viewed as a performance, constantly being shaped by the
environment and audience, with the objective of providing others with impressions that are consonant
with the desired goals of the actor. Specifically Goffman states as all the activity of an individual
which occurs during a period marked by his continuous presence before a particular set of observers
and which has some influence on the observers (1959, 32). Goffman (1959) uses the

Final Exam About three years ago, I attended a lecture given by Zimbabwean writer, Chenjerai Hove.
He was an exile from his home country, he told us the story of his life, shared some of his work, and
gave us a window into the mind of an exiled person. There was one anecdote of his that really stuck
with me. He said he was once editing a woman s novel. In the novel, the main character is a woman
who is being abused by her husband. By the end of the novel, the main character remains in the
abusive relationship. Hove asked the author why the character did not leave her husband or do
something to escape her situation. The author said that she wanted to portray real life. According to
her, women do not escape from abusive relationships. This response upset Hove. He asked us what the
point of writing was, if not to change, challenge, or argue against something. I remember leaving very
impressed by him in general, and I was sad to hear that he passed away last year. On a positive note,
this anecdote made me judge the quality of literature based on his belief on what literature should do. I
also found this advocacy for change in this class texts. In I, Rigobera Menchu: An Indian Woman in

Disease Trends and the Delivery of Health Care Services HCA/240 January 26, 2014 Disease Trends
and the Delivery of Health Care Services Demographics and disease trends will influence health care
delivery services in the future in many different ways. Not only will the current aging population
affect the delivery of health care services because of its rapid growth, but also obesity. Obesity is one
of the more serious problems facing our nation today, and will only get worse unless the
implementation of programs to educate the public on the many health issues this condition can cause
to prevent them from happening. Moreover, not only does the health care delivery system need to
adapt in the future to provide quality care for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather (2011) stated, Since women live longer than men in the United States,
women will continue to make up a majority of the older population in the foreseeable future (pg. 3).
Whereas, this age distribution among men and women are expected to remain approximately the same
between 2009 and 2030, there will be notable changes in the age and gender gap by 2050 as the gap
grows smaller (Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather, 2011). Furthermore, according to Vincent Velkoff (2010),
by the year 2042 the United States will become more racially and ethnically diverse with the
combined minority population expected to become the majority. Thus, as people in the United States
age over the next several decades, the older population will also become a more racially and ethnically
diverse group. In addition, the overall age structure of the population is expected to change a great
deal over the next four decades (Vincent Velkoff, 2010). This will pose even more challenges to policy
makers and programs designed to help the elderly like Medicare and Social Security. Therefore, being
able to project the size and structure of the older population, in regards to age, sex, race, and Hispanic
origin is not only important to public interest, but also private both socially and economically (Vincent
Velkoff, 2010). Another factor that supports this trend includes the environmental factors. The health
and well being of the elderly

Jing-Mei In Two Kinds
Jing Mei is a young Chinese American girl with a mother who immigrates here after losing her first
husband and two daughters in China. She believes that America is the place of high hopes, that there is
nothing stopping you from being anything that you want to be, as long as you try. However, when she
pushes her daughter so hard to become a pianist, her daughter decides to push back to stop her mother
from making her something she isn t. The character Jing Mei from Two Kinds by Amy Tan
exemplifies strong will throughout her life but does so in a negative manner, which affects her
relationship with her mother all the way through adulthood.
By the time she was nine years old Jing Mei was already being told she could be a prodigy. Being in

However, once another Chinese Shirley Temple appears on their TV playing the piano with a Peter
Pan haircut just like Jing Mei s, her mother criticizes the girl on TV and Jing Mei comes to her
defense by saying she s trying hard. Her mother counters with comparing the girl to her daughter, Not
the best. Because you not trying (Tan 474). All her mother wants is for her to try and do her best, but
Jing Mei just wants her mother to like her the way she is. Three days after seeing the girl on TV her
mother signs her up for piano lessons with Mr. Chong, who happens to be deaf and unable to notice as
Jing Mei plays nonsense and makes many mistakes. She quickly gathers that she can be lazy while at
these practices and not correct herself if she makes a mistake; she realizes that she never really gave
herself a chance. Her negative determination keeps her from trying, just like her mother had said. And
when her mother brags about her natural talent to her Aunt Lindo, her determination gets stronger. She
continues to cheat at her piano lessons when she is supposed to memorize her piece for the talent show
and she put more effort into practicing her curtsy than the song. This shows when it s time her to
perform the piece Pleading Child in front of her family and Old Chong. Mistake after mistake she
continues playing and at the end, she does the curtsy she worked so hard on. Then when she sees her
mother s face she feels the shame of her parents and when they return home she awaits her mother s
wrath. But, when her mother proceeds into the house without saying a word, Jing Mei feels
disappointed too, for not having a reason to yell, cry, and blame her

Quotes From Aesop s Miserables
Aesop s Fables , by Aesop, is a collection of fables that tell moral lessons about the world. The
Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, is about how Percy Jackson finds out he s a half blood, his dad s
Poseidon, and he s being accused for something he didn t do. Ancient cultures continue to shape our
world. These stories from Ancient Greece prove that people choose their future.
Aesop s Fables teaches us that people in the world aren t perfect. For example, A cottager and his wife
had a hen who laid the golden eggs... they supposed that the hen must contain a giant lump of gold
inside... they killed it... they found to their surprise that it differed in no respect than their other hens. (
Aesop, 27) This quote is important because it explains

The Value Of Vengeance In Beowulf
Vengeance is an important value that causes misfortune in the story of Beowulf. It brings not only
Beowulf, but many others, fame and glory, plus, wealth as well. It is not a sustainable value for it
brings everyone in the story only destruction. The tribes that have been bonded together by this value
get destroyed but it. The value of courage is tied into the story since almost the entire story is based on
vengeance. When Beowulf is helping Hrothgar get his vengeance, he attacks Grendel, saw that his
strength was deserting him, his claws, Bound fast, Higlac s brave follower tearing at his hands.
(Beowulf, page 36). Beowulf fights Grendel with his hands because he promised Hrothgar that he
would help him obtain his vengeance. Beowulf gets his fame, wealth and glory for his victory over
Grendel which was achievable through Hrothgar s desire for vengeance against the monster. After the
battle with Grendel, Hrothgar spoke to Beowulf, Glory is now yours, Forever and ever; your courage
has earned it, And your strength. (Beowulf, page 42). Hrothgar praises Beowulf for granting his desire
of vengeance on Grendel and awards him. He tells Beowulf that he has earned glory and wealth by
helping him in destroying Grendel. Grendel s mother is saddened and angered when she finds out her
son is dead and proceeds to Herot: But a monster still lived, and meant revenge. (Beowulf, page 56).
Vengeance is the cause of destruction and that is what Grendel s mother wants to do to the men of

The Health of College Students
Rob Geis, a current college student, explains, A student is not at fault for unwanted weight gain. It is
the college meal plans that cause the gain in weight. Many colleges require incoming freshmen to be
on a meal plan (Geis). Parents like the meal plans because they know their child is getting meals every
day, but the plan does have its downsides. Geis believes that many students do not eat three meals
every day. If we don t eat every meal we are given, we are wasting our money which was used to buy
the meal plan. So, it is either gain weight or waste money (Geis). This may cause the family of the
student to get upset. The parents may reduce the student s meal plan for the next year, which would
make the student eat less. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A family sending a student to college may expect good grades from the student. If a student s grade is
going down, a family might check up on the student. When the family checks on the student, the
family may find something wrong with the child. The family will try and help, but the student may
refuse, thinking that he or she is fine. This could cause embarrassment in the student and make his or
her situation worse. There are many ways to stay healthy on campus. To begin with, the American
College Health and Association states that The top five threats to academic performance are stress; a
cold, flu or sore throat; sleep difficulties; concerns for friends or family; and depression (qtd. in
Dineley). When a student s grade drops from any of the five threats, his or her future can be affected.
A student s career can depend on his or her grades and health. Dineley tells the first way to stay
healthy is to get plenty of rest. Many students get too little of sleep, which causes illness ( College ) .
A student with an illness could miss class. Besides missing class, a student will have less time to study
and learn. The second way to stay healthy according to Dineley is to exercise more often. However,
many students do not have enough time to exercise; especially dealing with the stress of college (
College ). A student s top priority might be his or her grades. If a student slacks on exercising, his or
her physical health may deplete rapidly. Ultimately, a

Claims:What is claimed is: 1. A method of producing an organic fertilizer by using fish, said method
comprising the steps of preparing a raw material containing more than 80% of fish heads, boiling the
raw material to obtain a stock, removing solids and oil contents from the stock to obtain stock liquid,

Then, solids and oil contents are removed from the boiled stock to obtain a stock solution and this
stock solution is supplied to a decomposition tank to treat it by enzyme decomposition. In the
aforementioned enzyme decomposition step, enzyme decomposition may be carried out by adding one
or more than two protein decomposing enzyme, fat decomposing enzyme and the like to the stock
solution in the decomposition tank. A preferred decomposing enzyme used in the decomposition tank
is a bacterial protein decomposing enzyme, such as NEOVITALASE SUPER (which is a trade name
manufactured by Towa Koso in Japan). With the use of the aforementioned enzyme, gelatin and
protein are rapidly decomposed in the stock solution, and a separation operation in a filter can easily
be carried out. Enzyme decomposition in the decomposition tank is carried out by increasing a
temperature of the stock solution to about 50° 60° C., and keeping it for about 30 minutes to 3 hours,
preferably 1 2 hours, and after decomposition, the temperature is raised to higher than 95° C. to
deactivate the decomposing enzyme. The stock solution enzyme decomposed as described above is
separated into a solid content and a liquid content and then the separated liquid content is filtered to
form a clarified liquid.

The Positive Effects Of Agriculture During The Industrial...
The Industrial Revolution, relating to agriculture, was positive for the world in numerous ways, which
led to a more sustainable way to produce food for the demands of the growing population. These
agricultural developments have had many positive effects on the population in Britain during the 18th
century, especially in the areas of economy and society. Famous inventors, such as Turnip Townshed,
were thought upon as the people who single handedly revolutionised English agriculture, during the
industrial revolution. New inventions, crop rotations, and livestock utilisation made way for enhanced
crop yields, greater food diversity and the ability to support livestock. These positive agricultural
developments improved society and economy significantly, during the industrial ... Show more

More free time was available as fewer jobs were available on farms so people were forced into the city
for jobs, which allowed more free time for them, as they weren t as busy controlling and maintaining
farms. More varied diets were available as the new inventions for agricultural farming, allowed more
food to be produced at mass production. Also, higher yields such as wheat and barley replaced the
lower yields such as rye, which increased the cereal production because of the clover, which
replenished nitrogen back into the soil. Lower cost of food was due to four aspects, which allowed
British agriculture to develop quicker than any other revolution, these were the increase farmland
availability, the favorable climate, more livestock and improved crop yields. When looking at society s
positive outcomes from the agricultural boost during the industrial revolution, there were many long
term and short term positive aspects, which improved the quality of life for society

The Involvement Of International Drug Trafficking
The CIA wanted to stop drug trafficking, and out an end to it, when there was money involved it was a
different story, the Cia thought to keep this on the low would be a good idea, they ended up thinking
wrong, it s a conspiracy gone wrong, they believed that by selling drugs, they can make a lot more
money, they knew it was a bad thing to do, but business is business, they had to do what had to be
done, this conspiracy that they did backfired on them dramatically, it cost them innocent lives all
because of the CIA s plan to make money, it eventually hurt them in the long run. Drug users and drug
dealers don t own airplanes and boats to ship in the drugs. The media and Hollywood like o connect
the poor and oppressed with drugs, but the rarely ever explain how the drugs get on the streets. The
reality is that international drug trafficking requires cargo planes, landing strips, networks of
international links, an abundant source of investment money, networks for money laundering, and
high level associates for getting past U.S Customs and honest officers of the DEA. To get passed the
DEA is a really really hard thing to do. It isn t just a walk through the park. You need an absolutely
outstanding team and have the brains to be able to get passed these guys. These guys are no joke. They
don t mess around. The fact that the CIA has been smuggling drugs into the U.S isn t even a secret.
The only reason why our streets are over flowing with drugs is because it is

  • 2. What Does Giving Back To The Community Mean To me the meaning of giving back to the community means to help and take care of the community and volunteer to help plant a tree or paint a fence. It s just time out of your day that you set apart to not be selfish and help the community that gives you your home and plant a little flower that can help a bee produce honey. In our day and age it s more common to see selfish people who rather see the local economy suffer then get their hands dirty. But i think giving back to the community is fun because it s time you can bond with your friends or family. Doing community work is also so great for you to experience how helping others can make such a great difference. Last year my mom and i got up at 7 in the morning to go pick up trash around ... • 3. Sex Education Vs Single Sex Schools Single sex schools, the new and improved way of learning In 2006 federal legislation allowed public school districts to create single gender schools and classrooms for their students. That was a wise decision considering single sex schools have been proven to benefit students. Although society insist that coed school is a superior learning style and is key to getting better grades they are wrong, single sex schools actually have a better history with the educational performance of their students and due to that their students are acknowledged to obtain a more profound career path. The main purpose of attending any type of school is to gain knowledge and further your knowledge successfully. In 2010, 78.2 percent of high school students in coed schools graduated on time. On the other hand the single sex schools received higher percentages across the board. Eagle Academy in New York, the state s first public all male school, reported an 82 percent graduation rate for the same time period. Correspondingly, the young Women s Leadership Charter School in Chicago reported a 100 percent graduation rate(NASSPE). The main cause for the percent differences are that students in single sex schools are less distracted by their peers and surroundings. The main argument in favor of single sex schooling is that both males and females learn differently, teachers can better educate their students if they are all the same gender because they can employ specific strategies to enhance their ... • 4. High School Is The Best Time Of My Life My time throughout high school was the best time of my life, I wished I would have realized sooner how terrible of a student I was. I look back and think how much harder I could have tried, things I could have done different, and how it has changed me. I don t have a single regret, because not only was it a lesson learned but it was humorous along the way. I was never the best person at studying, in fact I was terrible at it. I am the biggest procrastinator, the phrase, due tomorrow, do tomorrow I know all too well. I knew I would have an upcoming assignment due, a test to study for, and I would still wait until the very last second to get it done it never failed. While the teacher was going around giving points for homework I was still scrambling to get all of mine complete. I would always get the question Corey, did you forget to do your homework? Last minute, scrambling to get it done? I didn t realize until much later how important it is to limit yourself from distractions. One of the funniest moments I can remember was an afternoon in my English class. I sat right beside of my best friend Emily, sometimes I wonder how she done it, how she put up with me and my shenanigans. There wasn t a time I wasn t asking her for answers to a test, or an assignment, or just talking while distracting her at the same time. This one day in particular I was really out of it, my teacher was instructing and here I am just completing disregarding what she was saying. It was after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Disclosure Of Leases On Company Financial Statements In 1949 the AICPA released ARB No. 38 over the disclosure of leases on company financial statements. Before this bulletin it was not normal for the lessee to disclose the fact that the company was in a contract long term lease of an asset. The Accounting Institute of Certified Public Accountants felt that investors and other decision making personnel should have the right to know about leases in which a company was contractually bound. The committee states in this bulletin that when it clearly evident that the lessee will have ownership of the asset after all payments are made, that the lessee should account for this in the assets and liabilities of the company s Balance Sheet. The committee believes that the AICPA issued the opinion that all long term leases should be disclosed in the financial statements or the footnotes. These disclosures include the payment amounts and other obligations assumed not only in the year in which they occurred but any material amounts in the life of the lease. (Committee on Accounting Procedure, American Institute of Accountants, 1949) Although, the main point of this bulletin was to address long term leases, the AICPA never formally defines what it means by a long term lease which can be assumed to be what modern day accounting defines as a capital lease. The purpose of the bulletin was not to address short term leases (now called operating leases) because there was no exchange of rights in these situations. Although the above opinion was ... • 6. British Secret Intelligence MI6 Essays British Secret Intelligence: MI6 Introduction Hello Mr. Bond. The character, James Bond, usually comes to mind when one thinks of the British agency MI6. An agency that enables its agents to have a license to kill, enabling them to do anything, at any cost to achieve the greater good, with the head of the agency M sitting behind a desk giving orders. This sounds like an agency that anyone would love to work for. In reality, it is an agency that has been through several wars and has evolved over the years with lies, secrets, and betrayal (Corera, 2011). At one point the British Secret Intelligence, often known as MI6, was very similar to the fictional James Bond character. The agents in the beginning did not necessarily have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The building is now a showcase on the Thames River, announcing We Are Here! History The British Secret Intelligence Service is one of the oldest surviving foreign intelligence gathering organizations in the spy world. MI6 was founded in October 1909, originally as the Foreign Section of the new Secret Service Bureau. The man behind the curtain that established the organization was Commander Mansfield Cumming (Thomas, 2009). In the beginning, the agency was surrounded with so much secrecy that it was difficult to get the agency off of the ground to meet its desired potential. However, by the end of 1909, Cummings was able to successfully create an organization devoted to the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence (Jeffery, 2010). As much as the agency was Cummings brainchild, the wheels starting to spin early in 1909 when a sub committee was put together to outline a plan to get Great Britain back into the intelligence collection business. The sub committee initially wanted a secret service bureau that would be in close contact with the War Office, Admiralty, and the Home Office (Corera, 2012). It would need to have three guidelines in place to follow: 1) serve as a middle between the Admiralty and the War Office for foreign spies who want to sell information to the government, 2) branch out to various parts of Great Britain to keep in touch with local constables to ascertain the nature and degree of espionage that is ... This will be followed by two issues, woman working in walmart not getting paid as much as men as well as not having very many upper management positions, and the perception that Walmart ruins small communities way of life once they open up their doors. For the issue of unequal pay and rights for woman working for Walmart, the company can take several steps to repair this damage. First, the company can correct the problem and pay the woman employees the same as male s with similar work experience. Secondly, the company can improve its public image from this situation by providing college scholarships to girls, or by sponsoring woman s equality events. Finally, Walmart can offer more upper level management positions for females who are equally qualified for the position as any other male (similar to affirmative action). For the issue of destroying small communities way of life, Walmart can take several steps to show that Walmart helps the communities it comes to and does not destroy small businesses. According to several economists, Wherever a Walmart opens up, all of the surrounding businesses next to it flourish because of the large traffic flow of customer s flowing in and out of the shopping center. Walmart needs to use its PR personal and a neutral third party to verify that Walmart is beneficial to the communities it opens its doors in both economically and in a socially responsible manner. The company must continue its efforts to provide for the communities it serves, and be quick to act in communities that face unexpected tragedies like New Orleans did with Katrina. These are a ... There are two elements that could affect the buyer s power. One is buyer s level of negotiation; the other is buyer s price sensitivity. In our case, the two companies are producing coal and uranium. These two products are mainly used for producing electricity. Buyers for these natural resources must have large quantity of demand, and also they usually have government behind them for negotiation. Even through these natural resources are unrenewable and limited, there are other mining companies producing them and these resources are undifferentiated from other companies products. One major competition for mining industry is the competition for resources and mines, which is different from other industries. Since the resources are limited and unrenewable, together with the continues increasing demand for energy, such as coal demand of China and India, the battle of exploiting and developing new mines are intensive. Also, there are many competitors in the industry. However, since the exit barriers are high, the competition is limited within the existing companies. Companies in the industry might battle for larger market share but facing little threat of new entries. Thus, the competition in the industry is concluded as medium to high. 1.4 Threat of new entrants: New entrants may pose a threat to the company by introducing new innovative products at a competitive prices and eating into their market share and customer loyalty. The threat of entry for the coal and uranium industry tends to be low due to high entry barriers. The reason for this is the government regulations and restriction on coal and uranium mining companies. Resources of coal and uranium are laminated. • 9. Diomedes Poetry Analysis Then, when the Achaeans start loosing, Athena and Hera harness Heras chariot and put on their armor. When they get Zeus approval to aid the Acheans, they fly to the battlefield, and Hera gives courage to the Achaean forces.Athena flies to Diomedes to remind him that she will protect him and that there should be no reason to be afraid, in fact, she criticizes him. Diomedes replies that Ares is dominating the battle resulting Athena to get into Diomedes chariot to attack Ares. With Athena s help, Diomedes spears Ares; In a panic, Ares flies away. The gods constantly intervene in the war, and to some extent, the tides of war can be measured by a gods intervention. Usually, when a god arrives, it changes the outcome on the battlefield, as soldiers will are given new courage. With Athena s help, Diomedes glory reaches its peak as he spears the god of war himself. The passage is interesting because it suggests the relationship between free will and divinity in the poem. Diomedes deemed a strong fighter, and yet he s dependent upon the gods for support. He not a free agent: instead, he needs the help of gods and goddesses. In this way, the passage reinforces why religion and divine worship are so important in the poem: without the gods maneuvering them, the characters couldn t accomplish much. Finally, the gods intervention is a reinforcement that the battle between Achaea and Troy is a battle between groups of gods in conflict. At the beginning of book four, the ... • 10. Francis Ford Coppola, The Visionary Director Of The... Francis Ford Coppola is the visionary director of the Godfather. He is credited with transforming the entire cinema industry. Joss Whedon is the not so visionary director of Avengers Age of Ultron. Whedon recently compared himself to Coppola when he said: I tried to make age of Ultron in a similar style to Godfather. The mix of action and drama has a perfect balance I want to strike in my film. Well I can tell you now Joss that you failed. Cutting every 2 seconds so the audience doesn t notice the CGI in no way compares to Coppola s subtlety and tension. If Joss Whedon is the new Francis Ford Coppola, then the movie industry must be in major trouble right? Wrong, in fact it is booming. And bad directors like Joss Whedon are not just making terrible films. They are polluting our cinemas with rip offs, remakes and reboots. Hollywood no longer seems to care about making good movies. They are money driven, bloated and stale. We need to demand more of the movie industry to stop it churning out these unoriginal films. Disney is the biggest film studio in the world in terms of market share. Disney s latest 5 films are Star Wars VII, The Jungle Book, Finding Dory, Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast. That is 3 remakes and two sequels. But why is this? • 12. The Security Of Airport Security Screening In the last thirteen years there have been major changes made in airport security. What brought the changes and shook America to its core, is a day in history that no one will soon forget. Since 9/11, five attempted terrorist attacks on U.S. airliners and airports have made airport security a continued priority. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act, which created the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and put federal employees in charge of airport security screening (Bajoria). The process for airport security screenings lacked the ability to secure a plane which caused the terrorist to be able to board the plane with ease. There are those that argue that the increase in security has cost the country too much money and does more harm than good. The U.S. has spent more than a trillion dollars to increase the security in all the airports across the nation. According to Paul Borowsky and Gregory Delone, pilots were asked to complete surveys to what they believed needed to be changed. In his book, the pilot wrote that policies were designed to enhance security, however, he believed that they didn t take into consideration input from the pilots of the airliners that the policies were made to protect. There is also the argument that the increased security was an invasion of privacy. Although the interviews conducted were unstructured all three practitioners were asked for their definition of leadership and management. It was thought that questions about leadership and management could be interpreted in so many ways, whereas having their interpretation helped to better understand where they were coming from. It was important to understand each individual perception. In the interviews conducted management was believed to generate responsibilities such as planning, paperwork, day to day running and that health and safety is in place. Where as leadership was believed to be more involved with what the children do, helping others perform their role, inspiring others. A conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to be thought of as a manager, preconceived ideas of management made the role something they did not want to aspire to. • 15. Relationship Between Admissions Committee And The... Outline: Introduction Relationship between Admissions Committee and the composition of lawyers in the community. Law school admissions plays an active role in shaping the future of the legal profession, as the composition of the legal profession has been largely determined by Law School Admissions Committees. The legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally trained individuals. The types of individuals who receive formal legal training shape the legal system through their values, personal experiences, and identity. Since the legal system reflects the cultural, social, and economic views of legally trained individuals, and is intended to benefit all members of society , the admissions process has the greatest impact on the composition of the student body , and arguably, the legal system as a whole. Admissions Criteria 1. Historically Traditionally, legal education has been accessible only to majority social groups in Canada. In relying on GPA and LSAT score, the student population was primarily young, upper middle class, unvaried in ethnicity, and unrepresentative of Canada as a whole. 2. More Modern Approach Law school admissions committees have adopted the simultaneous use of three admission categories: regular category, special admission, and First Nations categories. The regular category relies on objective data through statistical manipulation of LSAT and GPA data, and is the predominantly used method by admissions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Morality In International Relations International relations have always been a very important topic. Knowing and understanding the history of international relations is vital to learning how it has evolved and how we can handle it today and in the future. However today our historical egoism, or the idea that we believe we are better and more advanced than those in the past can blind us. In reality, history is a bit more complicated. We often ask if it is a never ending march of progress or one conflict after another? The best we can do is learn and try to create a better future. With that said, we will be looking at two important factors in international relations: power and morals. It has been a widely debated issue whether it is better to use power or morals in international relations. Some argue that power is the answer to international relations, and others believe that morals are the answer. In the end, several theories, authors, and examples can lead us closer to the aptness of international relations. To begin with, many have argued that power is what maintains a balance between nations and what can also lead to war. First, let s look at two major powers in the world: Europe and United States. Their international relation structures are very different. America is more realist than Europe in the way they use, desire, and view power. Europe s perspective is more diplomatic and sophisticated. Europe tends to turn away from power and focuses on a creating laws and rules that world should follow. When an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is known as the last great period of Italian art. Carlo Maderno was the first architect to work in this manner and the first to inspire European artists outside Italy to adapt to the new style. Dutch Dutch painters specialized in outdoor scenes, landscape, still lifes of flowers, fish, or fruit. The greatest Dutch artist of the baroque period was Rembrandt van Rijn. How Does Milgram Study Unethical Milgram on Ethics A Study on Where Milgram Crossed the Line Kyle Froerer Weber State University Upon researching Milgram s study more in depth and weighing the opinions of those who feel it is an ethical study versus those in opposition I add my opinion to those who feel the experiment was an unethical practice. This paper will explain more of why I feel this way. I will also provide four peer reviewed sources supporting my argument. The first reason I find it to be unethical is because of the ways in which subjects were lured into participating in the study. Certain people could say they volunteered but that would require they not be compensated for their efforts in any way. Each participant was financially compensated with $4.50 which is the equivalent of about $25.00 to today s currency (Dollar Times, 2008). Because none of the participants were truly volunteers their actions and subsequent test results must not be considered ethically accurate when comparing them to society in general. Continuing on, the setting in which the participants were observed was a foreign setting all with employing behaviors unique to that of a scientist (Baurimd, 1964). Now, coupling the foreign setting, strange behaviors and the fact they have been paid with the principle of participant obedience, it can be assumed that all these attributes mixed together would result in an overly obedient test subject. • 20. Impact Of John Locke Economic Inequality The Second Treatise of Government stipulates John Locke s claim of what a civil society requires to function. Locke discusses why people leave the state of nature (where they are free, equal and possess natural rights) to form societies: it is convenient. Locke believes everyone is entitled to life, liberty, and property, they are our natural rights. God, who hath given the world to men in common, hath also given them reason to make use of it to the best advantage of life, and convenience (18). When everything belongs to everyone resources aren t benefiting anyone, that is wasteful and unjust, common resources need to be appropriated. Locke s view of property is: every man has a property in his own person: this nobody has a right to body himself. The labour of his body, and the work of his hands, we may say, are properly his (19). Locke goes on to discuss the acquisition of private property through mixing labor with common resources to make said resources yours, this theory of property serves as the bases for Locke s theory of freedom. That labour put a distinction between them and common: that added, something to them more than nature, the common mother of all, had done; and so they became his private rights (19). In this paper I will examine how Locke s view of freedom and theory of property promote and justify economic inequality. In the state of nature people are self sufficient but when there is conflict they are reliant on the wills of others; to become ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fracking Essay The Result of Fracking on the Natural Gas Industry Introduction Hydraulic fracturing otherwise known as fracking has flooded the market with cheap and reliable natural gas to the exportation and power production markets all while being limited by logistics. Emspak, J. (2014, August 12) shows that natural gas production by fracking has expanded gas production by 32 times the amount in 2008. This lowered the cost 40% over that span of time. The demand for clean cost efficient power production shifted production from coal fired to natural gas plants. Attention was diverted to use another greenhouse producing fossil fuel rather than a clean renewable. A trend in U.S. Energy Information Administration s (2017) data showed renewable sector s power production since 2008 grew only 5.7% as compared to natural gas production 18%. Another disadvantage to the diversion from renewables is the additional carbon dioxide generated from these additional plants operating. About 24 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions are related to natural gas in 2011 (Natural gas prices. (n.d.)). The replacement of coal fired power plants with natural gas has let to a decrease of the green house gases, mainly particulate matter and sulfur dioxide emissions. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions produced in the generation of electricity at power plants in the United States declined by 73% from 2006 to 2015, a much larger reduction than the 32% decrease in coal fired electricity generation over that period. U.S. Energy Information Administration (2017). This shows that more efficient control equipment can be used to almost eliminate the trace amounts of sulfur dioxide in natural gas. One of the sets of lead plates is coated with lead dioxide. As such a battery discharges it creates two chemical reactions, one at the anode that ends up with an excess of electrons, and one at the cathode that ends up short electrons. Fuel combustion is the process of where fuel is burnt that releases heat and light which is an exothermic reaction meaning it releases heat. This quote demonstrates that Columbus may have improved some lives, but he destroyed others. Every year on Columbus Day, Native Americans are forced to celebrate the murder and theft of their people, lands, and homes. They should not be subject to this cruelty. • 26. Myth Of Meritocracy The Myth of Meritocracy: Corruption in the Media and America s Education System Two hundred and fifty years ago, America was formed as a classless society, a meritocracy based on initiative, effort, and perseverance (Rocca 2). It was the land of equal opportunity, where power was vested in those individuals who had earned it. Advancement in society was based on merit, not favoritism. Those were the ideals America was built upon, but that is no longer the case. Diana Kendall s essay Framing Class, Vicarious Living and Conspicuous Consumption and Jean Anyon s study From Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work analyze two areas of society that foster inequality and validate the myth of meritocracy: our class system and education system. Anyon s essay describes the different teaching methods in fifth grade classrooms located in varying socioeconomic communities. Through her research, she points out that students in working class schools are treated much worse than those in affluent, elite classrooms, supporting the claim that opportunity is not distributed fairly in our public education system. Kendall s essay investigates another area where meritocracy should be but no longer is at work. She places blame on the media for the growing gap between upper and lower class Americans. She analyzes the way the media shapes our everyday lives and taints our view of class and social inequality. While both essays use logos to build their arguments and strengthen their ethos, Kendall takes a more informal tone in her essay and more heavily utilizes pathos. Although, rarely, does she blatantly bad mouth the media, Kendall has a more opinionated thesis littered with negative undertones about the media s influence within society. Anyon s summary of the study she conducted is purely qualitative data that she presents in an unbiased manner. Although she still makes an argument, there is little to no personal opinion about the issue. Instead, she chooses to build her ethos through clear and logical data, allowing room for the reader to really form their own opinion about the matter and potentially investigate it further. By the thirteenth century, religion evolved into numerous faiths that conflicted with one another. Conflicts involved numerous issues such as, who is god, is the chosen god the most powerful god, how to worship god, how one religion converts people to their religion. The issues that segregate different cultures are endless when exploring religion. As differing religions gained strength, cultures formed around people of similar beliefs and ideas creating dominant religions. One dominant religion, the Catholic Church, challenged other dominant religions to convert to Christianity. Religion shaped inter cultural interaction through power, segregation, and diplomacy. Orders Given to the Twelve provides evidence that the Spanish Catholic Church, in New Spain, shaped inter cultural interaction with power. Goffman (1959) likens the individual to an actor on stage performing for and with other individuals involved in the situation. Three types of space exist for the actor to perform on, to enact the self, and to interact with others: the front stage, the backstage, the outer region. Goffman (1959) utilizes specific dramaturgical terms such as performance, teams, front and back regions, sign vehicles, and highlights the process of dramatic realization. These terms will be discussed in the following sections. Performance. The interactions are viewed as a performance, constantly being shaped by the environment and audience, with the objective of providing others with impressions that are consonant with the desired goals of the actor. Specifically Goffman states as all the activity of an individual which occurs during a period marked by his continuous presence before a particular set of observers and which has some influence on the observers (1959, 32). Lissette Soza Dr. Michaela Moura Koçoğlu WST 3120 7 December 2016 Final Exam About three years ago, I attended a lecture given by Zimbabwean writer, Chenjerai Hove. He was an exile from his home country, he told us the story of his life, shared some of his work, and gave us a window into the mind of an exiled person. There was one anecdote of his that really stuck with me. He said he was once editing a woman s novel. In the novel, the main character is a woman who is being abused by her husband. By the end of the novel, the main character remains in the abusive relationship. Hove asked the author why the character did not leave her husband or do something to escape her situation. The author said that she wanted to portray real life. According to her, women do not escape from abusive relationships. This response upset Hove. He asked us what the point of writing was, if not to change, challenge, or argue against something. I remember leaving very impressed by him in general, and I was sad to hear that he passed away last year. On a positive note, this anecdote made me judge the quality of literature based on his belief on what literature should do. I also found this advocacy for change in this class texts. In I, Rigobera Menchu: An Indian Woman in Guatemala, an autobiography, The First Wife: A Tale of Polygamy by Paulina Chiziane, and Under Western Eyes: Feminist Scholarship And Colonial Discourses by Chandra Talpade Mohanty, the authors seek to change how women are ... My father asked me if I wanted to go to an Atlanta Hawks basketball game because, the Miami Heat would be in town to play. So of course I said yes! He ended up getting four tickets through his company which meant Amazing seats that were pretty much court side. Dad told me I could invite anyone I wanted and that he was inviting my friend Anthony s Dad Tony. Tony was quite the character not one you d look up to but cool to hangout with. He was about a foot shorter than me, bald, and couldn t say no to a drink. The next day in weight training I asked my buddy Rj if he was down to go to the Hawks vs Heat game in which he uttered the obvious yes. Eventually we decided to go sit back down and finish the game. The heat won by a landslide which came to no surprise. Then we made the pilgrimage back to Tonys home. Not only will the current aging population affect the delivery of health care services because of its rapid growth, but also obesity. Obesity is one of the more serious problems facing our nation today, and will only get worse unless the implementation of programs to educate the public on the many health issues this condition can cause to prevent them from happening. Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather (2011) stated, Since women live longer than men in the United States, women will continue to make up a majority of the older population in the foreseeable future (pg. 3). Whereas, this age distribution among men and women are expected to remain approximately the same between 2009 and 2030, there will be notable changes in the age and gender gap by 2050 as the gap grows smaller (Jacobsen, Kent, Lee, Mather, 2011). Furthermore, according to Vincent Velkoff (2010), by the year 2042 the United States will become more racially and ethnically diverse with the combined minority population expected to become the majority. Thus, as people in the United States age over the next several decades, the older population will also become a more racially and ethnically diverse group. In addition, the overall age structure of the population is expected to change a great deal over the next four decades (Vincent Velkoff, 2010). This will pose even more challenges to policy makers and programs designed to help the elderly like Medicare and Social Security. Therefore, being able to project the size and structure of the older population, in regards to age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin is not only important to public interest, but also private both socially and economically (Vincent Velkoff, 2010). Many colleges require incoming freshmen to be on a meal plan (Geis). Parents like the meal plans because they know their child is getting meals every day, but the plan does have its downsides. Geis believes that many students do not eat three meals every day. If we don t eat every meal we are given, we are wasting our money which was used to buy the meal plan. This could cause embarrassment in the student and make his or her situation worse. There are many ways to stay healthy on campus. To begin with, the American College Health and Association states that The top five threats to academic performance are stress; a cold, flu or sore throat; sleep difficulties; concerns for friends or family; and depression (qtd. in Dineley). When a student s grade drops from any of the five threats, his or her future can be affected. A student s career can depend on his or her grades and health. Dineley tells the first way to stay healthy is to get plenty of rest. Many students get too little of sleep, which causes illness ( College ) . A student with an illness could miss class. Besides missing class, a student will have less time to study and learn. The second way to stay healthy according to Dineley is to exercise more often. However, many students do not have enough time to exercise; especially dealing with the stress of college ( College ). A student s top priority might be his or her grades. If a student slacks on exercising, his or her physical health may deplete rapidly. Ultimately, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then, solids and oil contents are removed from the boiled stock to obtain a stock solution and this stock solution is supplied to a decomposition tank to treat it by enzyme decomposition. In the aforementioned enzyme decomposition step, enzyme decomposition may be carried out by adding one or more than two protein decomposing enzyme, fat decomposing enzyme and the like to the stock solution in the decomposition tank. A preferred decomposing enzyme used in the decomposition tank is a bacterial protein decomposing enzyme, such as NEOVITALASE SUPER (which is a trade name manufactured by Towa Koso in Japan). With the use of the aforementioned enzyme, gelatin and protein are rapidly decomposed in the stock solution, and a separation operation in a filter can easily be carried out. Enzyme decomposition in the decomposition tank is carried out by increasing a temperature of the stock solution to about 50° 60° C., and keeping it for about 30 minutes to 3 hours, preferably 1 2 hours, and after decomposition, the temperature is raised to higher than 95° C. to deactivate the decomposing enzyme.
