This document provides information about various radiological procedures including barium swallow, upper GI series, colonic enema, cholecystography, urethrography, cystography, hysterosalpingography, and myelography. Dysphagia.

3. Patient preparation:
1- The patient fasting at least 5
hours before examination.
2- No radio-opaque medication
taken by the patient like bismuth.
3- N premedication given.

4. Barium Swallow
lateral views.

9.  Contrast medium:
 1- Single contrast examination. Barium
sulphate suspension(60 ml) given to show
gastric mucosa.
 2- Double contrast examination. 200 ml
barium sulphate with gas producing agent
tablet.
 3- Water soluble medium like gastografin is
given in cases if perforation or subacute
obstruction is suspected.

1- The patient should keep to a low residue
diet for days before the examination.
