2. Continuing Professional Development Framework
What has been your pathway of development as a teacher of
English?
What kinds of development opportunity have been significant to you
at different stages of your career?
How do you keep making progress?
The framework helps teachers to articulate answers to these
questions by providing a common way of talking about the stages of
their careers and by mapping relevant training, resources, networks
and other development opportunities to these stages

Editor's Notes
The aim of the presentation is to help teachers of English understand the continuing professional development framework and the relevance of its stages to their own careers and professional development.
The framework helps teachers to articulate answers to these questions by providing a common way of talking about the stages of their careers and by mapping relevant training, resources, networks and other development opportunities to these stages.
Ask teachers in pairs to map their pathway and discuss in pairs what development activities were significant and most useful to them at different points.
Ask teachers in pairs to map their pathway and discuss in pairs what development activities were significant and most useful to them at different points.
Ask the teachers to talk to the group about some of the significant activities at different stages
This and the following slides provide more information about the different stages and in particular some of development activity that is relevant to each stage. More detailed information is available on the TeachingEnglish website Transform section, and also on the DVD that can be given to teachers.
Depending on the audience you can present all the stages or a selection of them.
This slide can be shown if you are promoting and intending to deliver any or all of the BC courses.
