This document discusses dry lining and plasterboard installation methods. Dry lining involves covering wall surfaces with sheet materials like plasterboard, strawboard or fiberboard to simplify construction, improve finishes and add insulation/fire resistance. The most common method uses plasterboard, which consists of a gypsum core sandwiched between paper liners. Plasterboards are installed by fixing them to timber battens, metal channels, or bonding them directly to the wall with an adhesive backing. Joints are treated and corners reinforced to create a smooth, even surface.
