Waitakere Range Research Paper
The Waitakere Ranges are home to many flora and fauna. These plants and animals make up the
communities within their ecosystem. They interact with each other through competition and various
relationships. In the Waitakere Ranges, there are several habitats organisms live in:
Forests and shrub lands
Freshwater wetlands, lakes and streams
Coastal wetlands, dunes, and estuarine tidal flats and channels
Urban area
The populations of each habitat vary, as they would be dependent on abiotic factors such as: light,
temperature, water and soil.
Within communities, organisms compete for limited resources (food, space, mates, shelter). 613 of our
native species (plants, birds, fish), compete with 240 introduced plant species, 19 introduced bird
species, 9 introduced mammals and 2 amphibians. It is estimated that we have lost 30 native bird
species due to this competition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, primary consumers such as snails and weta eat producers, consuming their nutrients. Secondary
consumers, such as Kereru, Tui and Long Tailed Bats then consume these insects, with energy passing
through the food chain to them. Tertiary consumers such as stoats and possums are pests to our native
species as they are threats to populations of our native birds.
Pests in the Waitakere ranges include wasps, mould, rats, goats and pigs. These species are considered
predators and parasites, these species benefit while their prey species is harmed. Wasps and mould kill
native trees for shelter and food. Rats, goats and pigs prey on native species of birds, insects and
fauna. Predation by introduced species of native species both threatens native populations, but also the
balance of the ecosystem. With predatory niches being taken, these pests not only threaten their prey,
but also native

Essay on The Impact of Sanctions on Idi Amin s...
From the time Idi Amin came to power in Uganda until the time his regime fell, his brutal rule
negatively impacted Uganda in every aspect of its existence. In 1971, Idi Amin along with military
support, ousted Prime Minister Milton Obote while he was out of the country in Singapore attending a
Commonwealth summit meeting with many other leaders of African and European countries. Over the
course of his violent reign, Idi Amin killed between 100,000 and 300,000 of his own people and
doomed the economy with the expulsion of those of Asian nationality. Many of his victims were killed
for no reason, or for a very insignificant action. Amin was in power from 1971 to 1979 and proved
early into his dictatorship that he was very powerful. Only one ... Show more content on

Not only did Amin harm Uganda by killing a lot of its population, he also was the cause of an almost
complete economic collapse, when, in 1972, he declared an economic war on the Asian population in
Uganda. Uganda s economy relied heavily on its Asian population because they ran most of the
manufacturing and trade sectors as well as making up a large portion of the civil service. Amin s order
of expulsion for the Asian population gave them three months to exit Uganda. They were given British
passports and the businesses they left behind were turned over to Amin s supporters. Amin not only
decimated the population of Uganda during his despotic reign but caused the economy to falter and
fail as well. As his reign of terror went on, news of Amin s crimes and atrocities began surfacing
internationally, spurring retaliatory actions from countries all over the world. The United States as
well as the United Kingdom, Japan, France, the Netherlands, and West Germany played a large role in
Uganda s trading by being the largest exporters of their coffee. The United States exported the most,
being responsible for 75% of all the coffee exported by Uganda. In the beginning stages of Amin s
reign, the United States did not do much more than denounce Amin and the major violations of human
rights being committed under him (Nurnberger 71). Through the thesis and knowledge of Uganda s
economy from William Goold, the legislative

Enlightenment Argument
The Enlightenment Period, otherwise known as the Age of Reason was a period in time when
intelligent individuals believed if given the ability to reason from God or nature, they would be able to
unveil truths and find answers in any proposed question (Background Essay). The Enlightenment
period started in France where thinkers from Britain, France and throughout Europe questioned the
eccentric traditional authority and took in the idea that humanity could be improved through rational
change. French philosopher Voltaire who appraised and promoted freedom of speech believed it would
lead to a stable society and was the best weapon against bad government. A new society should
prioritize the Enlightenment ideas of freedom of expression because there are different groups of
people who struggle to gain full access to speak up because of reasons including poverty, racial
discrimination and cultural pressure. Although a strong case could be made that freedom of economics
would be better to focus on, this argument is unconvincing because the wealth would eventually be
unevenly distributed, limiting freedom of the many unfortunate others with less luxury.
To begin with, all men are created equal and independent with their own natural inalienable [life,
liberty, property] rights to have their opinions heard. Their freedom to speak up would not only
encourage social evolution, but would also lead to better ideas and promote a world with no
misunderstandings. Henry David Thoreau once

Essay On Veterans Ethics
Over the last decade or so we have seen our country fail our Veterans on so many different levels. The
U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our Veterans are
not being adequately taken care of. Some would say this is a mere oversight in our government, but to
me it is a lack of ethics. Menzel defines Ethics as values and principles that guide right and wrong
behavior. When we look at the landscape of our Government beginning with the Executive office we
see a lack of leadership in my opinion. The President of the United States should be the biggest
advocate for our Veterans. Unfortunately, we see decisions that are made based on political motives
instead of what s right for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the ... Show more

There is plenty of empty promises that are being made all while many of our Veterans are lacking
adequate medical care or are struggling to keep a roof over their heads while suffering from issues that
are related to war. We have Senators and Congressman who is paid handsomely, and who receives
better care than many of our veterans do. Many veterans have to wait extended periods of time before
they can receive care, most are making pennies compared to our elective officials whose interest are
only in special interest groups who gives millions of dollars to them in campaign money. According to
Legistorm members of Congress make $174,000 a year, the Speak of the House makes $223,000; this
is five times and six times what the average veteran makes in our country. We rely on these individuals
to make policies and laws to help people, especially our veterans. With the past corruptions at several
VA Facilities, we see that the best interest of our Veterans is not being made a priority even though our
President and Congress have made pledges to help these

The Beloved Catherine of Aragon
History remembers King Henry VIII and his many wives. Very few remember his first wife, Catherine
of Aragon. She was known as being quite beautiful and a great queen. Despite how poorly treated she
was Catherine remained strong. The beloved Catherine of Aragon was the most remarkable queen due
to the way she led her kingdom.
Catherine, First Queen of King Henry VIII, daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain,
was born at Alcala de Henares on the 15 or 16 of December 1485. She is the youngest in her family of
five, which includes one son and four daughters. She was also the youngest of the surviving children
of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. When her mother was pregnant with Catherine she would
travel in hot spring and scorching summers to be with the army, and unfortunately Queen Isabella lost
many children because of the conditions that she traveled in. Catherine was seven when her parents
defeated the Moors. Catherine grew up during the Spanish inquisition, which explained why her
mother went wherever the army went. Catherine was also the youngest daughter of one of Europe s
most famous power couple. Since her parents were a power couple it made the children to be desired
and married too. Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand marriage had united Spain under one rule.
Catherine did have an older brother who was going to be the heir to the throne, and due to a tragic
accident Juan died at the young age of 19. In response to his son s death, Ferdinand became

Importance Of Diversity In American Schools
The United States is unique in the way that it holds people of all ethnicities and races. This large
mixture of people results in a variety of languages being spoken every day in every type of situation.
In other countries, there is a common language but in America, we are able to speak practically every
language. This diversity in our country is progressive and holds many advantages, such as
comprehension and connectivity.
An understanding is critical, in all types of environments, to accomplishing any endeavor. Some
instances in which comprehension is necessary is in school. Students in American schools come from
all corners of the globe, which often coincides with language barriers between students and other

If we all spoke the same language, language wouldn t be a conversation piece anymore. Often times,
people will connect because they both speak English and French. This coincidence creates a common
similarity between the two persons. Also, being able to speak a different language from the others in a
particular area gives a conversation security. People often transition from English to another language
when talking about something they don t want another person to hear. Okay, so you know... Deja me

more personal connection between relationships. Being able to speak a different language with
someone exclusively is often a way friends can be connected and stand apart from others, Just as
family finds a bond between sharing heir own language, friends and coworkers can also feel this, as
America allows us to. In cases that a person may not speak English, a person being able to speak theiir

The Failure to Cope
J.D. Salinger drops the reader into the middle of his stories. Without any sense of characters, setting,
or plot, the reader is thrown into the lives of others as they scramble to unearth the truth behind the
scenes. Salinger provides complex stories of relatable characters; some are stories of happiness and
others are of loss and dysfunction. Often times, the characters have difficulties dealing with the harsh
realities of their lives and have to look towards alternate means of coping. Society fosters an overly
structured environment with little room for atypical relationships, ideals, and behaviors. Anything that
is outside of the normal is immediately written off and labeled as deviant behavior, something that is
often frowned upon in this day and age. The characters in Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger use various
coping mechanisms to escape the reality that societal norms and traditionalism present. Seymour
Glass of A Perfect Day for Bananafish is a twisted character who, having returned from the traumas of
war, has a hard time fitting back into a routine of normalcy. His partner, Muriel, is more interested in
the material things that surround her than she is with her lover. When Seymour cannot find the
partnership that he needs with Muriel, he is forced to switch to an alternate source of companionship.
He meets a young girl named Sybil on the beach, and quickly bonds with her.

My Father Is A Positive Father
When I was five years old my parents got a divorce. My father was abusive towards me on many
occasions and was known to cheat on my mom. I remember him getting mad at me one time, he
proceeded to kick me multiple times with cowboy boots on. It was so bad I could not sit down for a
week. He would not play a significant role in my life going forward. ...children with abusive fathers
may disengage from their fathers, preferring to distance and buffer themselves from the harmful
effects of negative paternal involvement (Dick,2005). Not having a positive father figure present in
my life, has negatively affected my life in countless ways. It was around middle childhood (Industry
vs Inferiority stage), that repercussions begin to become present. I can remember not knowing how to
walk confidently. This may sound ridiculous to many, but I did not know how to walk like a man.
When my father had exited my life as a child, it did not imprint on me how to walk. I was unable to
identify how to walk like a man. I grew up in a household of women and I can remember specifically,
not trying to walk like them. There was an insecurity in the way I did walk, and I can remember on
many occasions of that being brought to my attention. I remember being envious of my friends whose
parents were still together. Contradictory of today, majority of married couples with children stayed
together back then (McLanahan, 1995). It had become so foreign to me, what a father was even like.

Essay on Babies in the Workplace
Babies in the Workplace As we move into the new millennium more and more employers are
allowing, some are even encouraging, their employees to bring their newborn babies to work with
them. This is probably one of the greatest changes in child care norms that this country has seen in the
past 30 years. Once upon a time, when a woman had a baby she almost always quit her job to raise her
child, depending on her husband to support her and her child. Then along came the idea of maternity
leave. This is when a woman takes a certain amount of time off to be with newborn. Once this time
period was up, the woman still had a job to go back to. This meant that women no longer had to rely
on their husbands for support. Unfortunately it also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The change in policy that allows women and men to bring their newborn children to work with them
is, in a sense, just one more change in our country norms and values. At one point leaving your child
with a baby sitter or at a daycare center all day was considered being a bad parent, meaning it was the
norm to stay home and take care of your child yourself. Then, as divorce rates went up and more
women were forced to raise their children on their own, that changed and it became the norm for
women to go back to work after a set time for maternity leave. This also made sending you child to a
daycare center or leaving them with a babysitter the norm since you couldn t be there to take care of
your child. With women being allowed to bring their babies into work with them, that is again
changing the norms of society, specifically those having to do with the care of children. Women used
to be given a hard time when they brought their children into work with them, even if it was only for a
matter of minutes. Now many of them are allowed to bring their children in for a whole day, every
day. This is enabling women to care for their own children and raise them in their own way with their
own values, instead of entrusting those important responsibilities to someone else. Mothers are also
forming a closer bond with their children in an important time in a child s development. This will lead
to a stronger bond later

Notes On The Pony Express
pg.1 The Pony Express The Pony Express was an extremely important event in history for three
profoundly good reasons. All together, it helped the farther east states to keep in contact with the West,
news of what was happening, important documents, sometimes small packages and family letters were
being sent to different states, and it helped for new and more improved ideas of how could the
spreading of news could be spread faster and safer. The good reason of keeping all the states in contact

before the internet was invented other ideas was sparked as well. Ideas how to have contact all over
the world by crossing the ocean faster by air and on the water was invented and later on perfecting in
this time of life.
History: The basic reason, because Pony Express was thought of and put into action is because of the
response to the Civil War and with the Great California Gold Rush. In the midst of the 1800s, as
individuals traveled to the West Coast in search of fortune and with the country teetered on the brink
of war, three businessmen, William H. Russell, William B. Waddell, and Alexander Majors, saw an
opportunity that would help them and also for the people. By keeping the east connected with the
west, the Pony Express held the nation together. Young Pony Express riders charged across the
country by over two thousand miles of wilderness were crossed, including a section of high mountain
desert located in Nevada. For the Pony Express, the standard delivery time for letters were ranged
from days to weeks which sometimes led a month. In 1860, William H. Russell, William B. Waddell,
and Alexander Majors, believed they could change that with the Pony Express. The plans for the Pony
Express were put into action on April 3,1860 as soon as men under 18 from

Synopsis: Hidden Figures is an American biographical drama based on true story nonfiction book with

Human Dignity In The Butterfly Circus And The Butterfly...
This world has human dignity and in this essay, I am going to state how the butterfly circus has lots of
it. When it comes to people and human dignity some people do not realize what it is. The butterfly
circus is a circus where human dignity what the circus is based on. People do what they want until
they find the right place to do it, and they do it at the butterfly circus where anyone can be anything,
and they can be themselves (who they truly are). In the butterfly circus, Mr Mendez says that the
butterfly circus is made up of people who haven t had much dignity in their lives (e.g. they get
rejected from their previous work (e.g. Circus) and they were left with nothing. Imagine if this
happened to you.
As people say nothing is possible when they continuously try something but end up failing. When a
kid finds his/her idol they would want to be exactly like them in every viable way. This relates to the
butterfly circus because when George and Will were putting up posters a boy and his father came up to
them. The boy had an excited smile, wipe across his face. The father said that his boy would like to
see George. The strongest man in the world replied saying that his dad was probably was stronger but
would come in as a close second. As the duo (the father and the son) walked off together and the boy

Rhetorical Analysis Of Chief Powhatan
A leader has many responsibilities as a role model and caretaker for their people. Facing hard
challenges and knowing how to deal with them is a part of being a great leader all of which are Chief
Powhatan showed. Chief Powhatan whose proper name was Wahunsenacawh, was the superior chief
of Tsenacommacah, an alliance of Algonquian speaking Virginia Indians in the Tidewater region of
Virginia at the time English settlers landed at Jamestown in 1607. In his address to Captain John
Smith Chief Powhatan expresses how he desires peace between the settlers and the Tsenacommacah.
He utilizes distinct rhetorical elements such as rhetorical questions, diction and argumentation to
further support his view on what he desired to occur between his people and the English settlers.
Chief Powhatan begins to address his statement by using rhetorical questions in order to support his
claim of peace. For example in lines 5 through 7 Powhatan says Why should you take by force that
from us which you can have by love? Why should you destroy us who have provided you with food?
What can you get by war? Obviously Powhatan doesn t expect Captain John Smith to answer his
questions but he uses this in order to create a growing tension that drives a questioning mentality
about whether using force is the best method when love is another alternative. He also recounts on
how it is unwise and unethical to break ties with the people who have fed and given shelter to the
settlers. Without them the settlers would be starving and freezing to death turning to barbaric methods
of survival. In line 9, he continues to support his claim by saying what is the cause of this jealousy? ,
this is important because the settlers became envious of how the Tsenacommacah were so well
developed, having shelter, and food. Having these benefits over the settlers Powhatan came to the
conclusion that the settlers would attempt to pilfer all that the Tsenacommacah had acquired. With this
in mind Powhatan decides to express his desire for peace so that neither side would eventually aim for
violence from lines 9 through 15.
Chief Powhatan continues to enhance his argument by using diction to add more emotion and meaning
to the message he is trying to convey.

How Living as a Christian Disciple May Influence the Lives...
How Living as a Christian Disciple May Influence the Lives of Christians Today Christianity is an
entire way of life. It s not only a part of your life it is your whole life. It is a sense of being with God.
It is not a one way system, but in fact a two way bond. Being a disciple of God gives you a sense of
who you are. You have the position of being part of God s children as well as being a child of your
parents. This is an incomparable feeling. A Christian is a person who lives their life daily for God. By
praying on a regular basis, reacting positively not negatively with people and being an optimistic
person rather than a pessimistic one. Christianity focuses a lot on how people treat others. ... Show

Your attitude towards people is very important. Being a Christian affects what career you wish to
pursue. Certain professions are considered unethical and therefore are not allowed. A job such as
working in an abortion clinic, you are taking away a life which has a right to live, which is unjust.
Another job which gives people grief is a traffic warden. A Christian has an important role to play in
the family and in the home. There must be peaceful negotiation and they must always remember that
children usually learn from the examples of their parents. So as a parent you must do good things and
not bad. You must know how to function in a family. To be a dedicated Christian you are required to
visit the church on a regular basis and to pray daily. At church Christians have communion, usually
once a week. This is red wine and bread which s also called the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the
ceremony in which Christ s last meal with his disciples is celebrated with bread and wine, the bread
symbolizes Jesus body and the wine Jesus blood. Although some Christians do not believe in going to
church for example, Quakers and the Salvation Army. Quakers are Christians who do not have set
services or have no ceremonies and do not do repeated rituals. The Salvation Army consider that you
should be careful and make sure that ceremonies do

Our Inner Circle, By Michael Gomez Essay
How we regard ourselves and our place in the world is often how happiness is measured. Connections
crafted with one another are frequently at the axis of that self perception. Friendships, family, and
community provide us shoulders to cry on, extended hands to lift us up when we are down, and share
in our proudest achievements. Within our inner circle we feel safest and most as ease. That circle is
also part of a greater group we call community. It shares similar values, language and often religion.
The community protects each inner circle, fostering a common culture that allows its members to feel
at ease even when venturing beyond the inner circle. Being extracted from that inner circle and
community through use of force, without warning, and relocated across the world with no ability to
commune with those in which a profound bond was formed is analogous to death.
For over 400 years, millions of Africans and their American slave descendants lived with that
nightmare. Dr. Michael Gomez wrote, Words will never convey the agony, despair, and bewilderment
of these innocents, the depth of their suffering, the pain of their separation. The American slave trade
and damage it caused to those who lived under threat of constant separation is one of the great
cruelties in the history of the world. Giving voice to individuals silenced as a result of slavery,
scholars are providing specifics on individuals who survived and by what means they struggled to

Critically Analyse and Evaluate the Relationship Between...
Critically analyse and evaluate the relationship between tourism and development illustrate your
arguments with practical examples from a variety of destination areas.
In order to be able to understand the relationship that exists between tourism and development, it is
important primarily to understand what is meant by the term development . One important point is that
if development is linked to economic progress, then the majority of third world countries are currently
not in a developmental stage at all. Sharpley et al (2002:25) state therefore that development should be
classified as the reduction of widespread poverty and unemployment . However, this solely relates to
third world countries, as poverty, whilst existing to some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The core issue of modernisation is that all societies follow an evolutionary path to development, and,
according to their stage of development, societies can be located at different positions on a path from
traditional to modern (Sharpley, 2002:247). Economic growth can result in a variety of methods of
development, such as the balanced big push approach (Harrison, 1995), which results in the
destination being built up at a steady rate. This rational and logical method of development, though, is
not being used in Goa, India, where western based organisations are continuously developing the
region, with little idea of the impact on rural life. Tourism is Goa s primary industry, handling 12% of
all foreign tourist arrivals in India (WTO, 2004). Wilson (1997:53) reinforces the reality of how
successful tourism has become in Goa by stating that available accommodation in Goa has doubled
over the last couple of years . Conversely, whilst clearly providing the region with a sustainable

Compensation System Of Henderson Printing Company
Compensation system in Henderson printing company
Introduction
One of the important aspects of business management is having a proper compensation system.
Compensation ensures that the staff of the company obtains the results of their efforts. Compensation
is a cost to the enterprise and, therefore, a proper remuneration model must demonstrate its ability to
produce returns. Also, since compensation is what the employees get in exchange for their services,
the type used must be one that will motivate the employees (Belcourt McBey, 2015). Henderson
printing company is a mid level company. Therefore, it requires a very critical remuneration system
that will help it to survive. This memo explores the compensation models that Henderson printing
operates as well as suggests the necessary changes.
Compensation systems that Henderson printing run
Henderson printing is a mid level company. The company operates some compensation models for its
personnel. Through these models, the employees receive rewards for the labour they render to the
enterprise. Henderson printing pays its employees by giving them regular salaries for their services.
These are direct payments for the work they do in this company. Secondly, the employees are given
pay raises even though this depends on the employee s initiative to ask for a pay rise from the owner
(Davis, 2013). Lastly, the employees are also accorded some merit bonuses every Christmas time. The
merit bonuses are based on their contribution to

Operative Morbidity And Mortality On Patients With Diabetes
Peri operative morbidity and mortality is higher in patients with diabetes (1, 2), and they have a longer
hospital stay than non diabetic patients. There is a lot of evidence to show that poor glycaemic control
before, during and after surgery increases the risk of adverse outcomes, irrespective of whether the
patient is a diabetic or not. (3) Peri operative hyperglycaemia in surgical patients is associated with
increased complications following surgery, especially wound infections.(4) Prevention of
hyperglycaemia reduces the risk of complications of cardiac surgery (5, 6) and also reduces morbidity
and mortality in intensive care patients.(7) There is sufficient ground to assume that this holds true
beyond the cardiac surgical and cardiac ICU patients, and is applicable to all patients with diabetes
undergoing surgery.(8)
There is an increasing body of evidence to show that apart from control of acute blood sugar
fluctuations in the peri operative period, long term control of blood sugar levels also plays an
important role in reducing diabetic complications after surgery.
HbA1c (glycosylated haemoglobin) is an important marker of long term glycaemic control.
Glycosylation of haemoglobin is a non enzymatic irreversible reaction between haemoglobin beta
chains and glucose molecules, the extent of glycosylation being dependant on the average blood sugar
levels over the preceding three months. There are many methods of quantifying the amount of HbA1c
in blood, including ion

Steven Universe Stereotypes
When kids sit down in front of their Saturday morning TV, what are they seeing? Maybe they re
watching Hannah Montana, and they see that their favorite pop star in disguise is totally freaking out
that the cutest boy in school asked her to prom. Or maybe they re watching Fairly Odd Parents and
notice that Timmy Turner always gets hearts in his eyes when he sees his crush, Trixie Tang. These
instances might mean little to nothing for the decidedly heterosexual, but heteronormativity leaves out
children who are questioning or exploring their sexualities. This is where Cartoon Network s Steven
Universe comes leaping to the rescue. This is a show that explores a spectrum of queer relationships
and identities without resorting to stereotypes. Representation like this is important because children
of all identities and orientations need to be shown that not only are they not alone, but people similar
to themselves can lead successful lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Monopolistic Literature Review
Quality and product variety in a monopolistic screening model with nearly rational consumers is an
article written by Suren Basov of The Department of Economics. This article is about monopolistic,
where the author assumed that the producer is a monopoly. In this article, the author s main focus is on
the case when the irrationality parameter is small in comparison with the characteristic utility
differentials but large in the comparison with flavor proliferation costs.
In this paper, the author considers a model with two types of consumers. The quality preferred and the
variety preferred consumers. The author assumes that the consumers are nearly rational. Also the
author assumes that the consumers only care on the quality of the goods and not preferred to the flavor
of the goods. Despite of that preference from the consumer, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The author graphs the interaction between quality and variety of the goods using an oligopolistic
market, where the consumer tastes are differentiated. Along with the vertical dimension is the quality
of the goods while in the horizontal dimension is the flavor of the goods. The correlation between the
quality and variety depends on the way the goods enter to consumer s utility, joint distribution and
their market structure. That makes it impossible to come up with a clear prediction.
The author organized this article in six sections. The first (1) section is the introduction, where the
author introduces his study and tells some points or information about his paper. The second (2)
section is where the author remind its readers about the Luce model of probabilistic choice. Luce
showed from his proposal that if one requires that choice probabilities, it does not depend on a
sequence in which choices are made the choice probabilities represented. Also, in this section the
author will discuss the Luce s main properties and introduce the measure of bounded rationality in the

Road Trip into Tradition
Every year, my family makes an effort to travel across the country from our hometown in Tennessee to
southern California to visit family. Our family has celebrated many traditions over the years, but this
is one that means the most to me. Also, some of the most memorable moments of my life happened
during this tradition. It all started when I was around 4 years old. My family decided to move away
from the big city in Southern California to a more country setting more suitable for raising children.
Ever since, we have made the trip back and forth, only missing one year since. This unique tradition
has helped me to develop to appreciate my family and bring us closer together.
Our trek starts in Tennessee, and goes through five states before reaching California, at the other end
of the continent. Arkansas is mundane driving through, with nothing really interesting to look at and
see, save lots of trees and cows. Oklahoma is just one big plain, making it even worse than the
previous state. It also has wind turbines, which is the only object to break the monotony of the
landscape. Texas has tons of oil fields filled with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

each player tries to get rid of their hand of cards first. Sometimes though, it can cause some tension in
the backseat, when one of us has all four wild cards. We would play something like bloody knuckles,
but our mother never really liked the end result of that. The moments we share in this tradition of ours
help us be not just literally close, but also

Methamphetamine Argumentative Analysis
Neil Postman believes the world focuses on entertainment values and not on real world issues. These
beliefs are true; the argument is well qualified because in this world, many Americans focus their
ideals on celebrities instead of aspects of importance like drug abuse. People invest the time in the
material objects and celebrities whereas there are plenty of other problems in this world that
Americans seem to ignore or refute.
Methamphetamine is known for causing brain damage, but people tend to disagree on this concept that
methamphetamine has no dangerous effects on the cognitive ability. In fact, Carl Hart, an associate
professor of psychology, adamantly disagrees to the dangers reported by media and other research
professionals (Merino). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because physicians believed that cocaine was a cure for heart disease, they promoted its use, and a
major soft drink company Coca Cola used this drug substance in their soft drinks (Blachford, Krapp).
It was not until more research was concluded and publicized that the real effects of cocaine were made
public. It was determined that cocaine stimulates the central nervous system which increased the heart
rate, respiration, blood pressure, and body temperature (Blachford, Krapp). Cocaine in the natural
coca leaf state is not, whatsoever, addictive nor does this drug create a euphoric reaction in the user,
but when chemically altered, the drug is addictive (Blachford, Krapp). In the process of using cocaine,
the dopamine and serotonin receptors are disrupted. These specific receptors affect one s mood,
memory, and appetite (O Sullivan). Also bupropion is a prescribed medication that people use as a
mimic for cocaine (Koshy). Bupropion goes by the name of poor man s cocaine because of the
inexpensive price of $2.50 per pill and the cocaine like high the user receives (Koshy). Again Postman
s argument proves itself true with the history that surrounds cocaine use: people were unaware of the
side effects of cocaine use due to lack of knowledge about the drug. Referring to Brave New World,
soma causes the people to [embark] for lunar eternity just as cocaine stimulates the

Causes Of Colonialism In Canada
When looking at Canada as a whole, we often tend to overlook the past events of Indigenous groups
who have suffered through Colonialism. As I read about this issue, I felt sympathy for the Indigenous
peoples, as it was overwhelming for me to find out that this much discrimination has occurred in a
nation as diverse and developed as Canada. Reading more about colonization helped me to make
connections between the issues and topics I have learned about in class, and how they can be traced
back to European contact with the Indigenous peoples. The Colonial powers in Canada rested in the
hands of the British and the French, who declared sovereignty over the territories which rightfully
belonged to the Indigenous peoples (Cochrane et al. 70). The worst effect of colonialism is the
exploitation, domination, and subjugation of the people by the imperial power (Cochrane et al. 71).
Due to the fact that their rights were determined solely by the white society s rules, one of the only
governance options left for Indigenous peoples was to become independent of the Canadian state
(Cochrane et al. 87). The Royal Proclamation Act of 1763 guaranteed the protection of lands for
Indians under the Crown, and required any colonists occupying Indian lands without the permission of
the crown to evacuate; however, these rights to Indians have been much ignored (Cochrane et al. 70).
During post confederation, several treaties numbered 1 11 were created to allow aboriginals to claim

Impact Of Trade Agreements On An International Scale
I. Introduction
Trade agreements have been around for the past several centuries, and naturally, they have evolved.
Earlier on, they were used exclusively as agreements between nations to reduce tariffs on each other s
products. Tariffs, however, were not the only way a nation could protect its industries. Trade
agreements have evolved to address this situation, and instituted measures to disincentivize
circumvention of the spirit of these agreements. Evolving still, trade agreements have now grown into
massive collectives between nations that regulate more than just trade. Moreover, these agreements
have become political tools to cement solidarity between nations, and are used to harmonize economic
regulation on an international scale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than just economic integration, however, the TPP presented an opportunity for the United States
to alter the economic power dynamics in the Asia Pacific. As the lead on TPP, the United States would
have been able to shape regional trade in the Asian Pacific to its benefit by building a network
surrounding China. Specifically, opening markets to Asia would allow for the United States to craft
the economic rules in the Asian Pacific to preference TPP states, which in effect, would make it harder
for a competing regulatory environment to be enacted.
Obama s stance was rooted in keeping the international status quo while trying to break into Asia and
counteracting China s economic clout in the region. Newly elected President Donald Trump, however,
has already come out and stated his opposition to the TPP; indeed, going so far as to include US
withdrawal from the TPP as part of his agenda for his first day in office.
The TPP has faced public scrutiny during this election year particularly because of the North
American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which has been decried by the public for some time. Loss
of American jobs has largely fueled the outrage at NAFTA, but other issues exist as well. For example,
TPP provisions on investor rights, like in NAFTA the Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS)
process would allow international arbitral bodies to hear challenges to a state s legal rules. This

In Crown Insurance Services Ltd v Commissioner of Taxation (Crown), the issues raised are pertinent
to the residence and source of the company under s6(1) of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936. As
cases are determined on the basis of all relevant facts and circumstances of each case, this analysis
will focus on how the court s decision process determined whether Crown had carried on business in
the years 2004 2007 inclusive and the existence of central management and control (CM amp;C) in
Australia. The purpose of this is to assess the valuation of Crown s taxable income, which ultimately

Following from this, it is logical to assume that Mr Pattenden had dealt with the reception and
decision towards the valuation of claims while residing in Australia, as it would be extremely
unrealistic for him to travel to Vanuatu each and every single time he received a claim that needed
processing. When now compared to Malayan Shipping, Crown appears to possess much of the same
indicative facts that had caught Malayan Shipping as a resident of Australia. Mr Sleigh had similarly
made decisions relating to his business while in Australia and had drafted contracts that were then
intended to be signed outside of Australia. This was seen as the essential test confirming both carrying
on business and CM amp;C in Australia. It is therefore possible to suggest that should Crown be
further tested in a higher court in the future, highlighting the case of Malayan Shipping and focusing
more on CM amp;C could potentially alter the case outcome.

Argumentative Essay On Horoscopes
Horoscopes are frequently consulted in day to day life. They are a diagram of the heavens, showing
the relative position of planets and the signs of the zodiac (Dictionary.com, 2015) that use the time of
a birth to foretell events in a person s life. People have attempted to explain the seemingly illogical
events of life such as: wars; weather abnormalities; economic hardship, and the link between people s
lives to the stars above. This resulted in the making of a combination of religion and science astrology
(Grabianowski. E, 2005). While most people who read daily horoscopes treat them as nonsense, others
use them to guide their lives are more than likely influenced by them. There has always been an
argument about the reliability of horoscopes and whether people should blindly place their faith in
them or not. It needs to be determined whether astrology should be treated as a real science instead of
a pseudoscience; whether people should live by their horoscopes; if different religions have their own
way of reading and making horoscopes; and what people use horoscopes for.

The Effect Of The Thermal Resistance And Properties Of An...
Introduction:
The purpose of this experiment is to study the effects of how fins affect the thermal resistance and
properties of an object. The experiment conducted analysis on three cases for three different plates
which were subjected to convection from a blower. The first plate had two fins, the second had one fin
and the third had no fins. Each plate had an electrically generated heater in the base. Each plate also
started in the same initial conditions. Each plate was well insulated around the base, was painted black
and assumed to be a black body with an emissivity of 1. For each case, the wattage of the heater was
recorded initially and finally to determine the average heat generation. A constant air flow was applied
to each plate by a blower. The methods for recording data involved using thermocouples to analyze
the temperature over time. Once a steady state temperature was observed in LabVIEW, then a thermal
camera was used to obtain the infrared profiles for each plate. The methods involved in interpreting
the infrared profiles consisted of using software to determine the temperatures at the plate, fin base
and fin tip. The experiment was conducted in order to gain insight on how fins affect thermal
resistance of an object. General assumptions include steady state, constant thermal properties, constant
freestream velocity of air, identical fins, negligible surface area from thermocouples on fins, black
body, neglect conduction resistance form black paint and

  • 2. Waitakere Range Research Paper The Waitakere Ranges are home to many flora and fauna. These plants and animals make up the communities within their ecosystem. They interact with each other through competition and various relationships. In the Waitakere Ranges, there are several habitats organisms live in: Forests and shrub lands Freshwater wetlands, lakes and streams Coastal wetlands, dunes, and estuarine tidal flats and channels Urban area The populations of each habitat vary, as they would be dependent on abiotic factors such as: light, temperature, water and soil. Within communities, organisms compete for limited resources (food, space, mates, shelter). 613 of our native species (plants, birds, fish), compete with 240 introduced plant species, 19 introduced bird species, 9 introduced mammals and 2 amphibians. It is estimated that we have lost 30 native bird species due to this competition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next, primary consumers such as snails and weta eat producers, consuming their nutrients. Secondary consumers, such as Kereru, Tui and Long Tailed Bats then consume these insects, with energy passing through the food chain to them. Tertiary consumers such as stoats and possums are pests to our native species as they are threats to populations of our native birds. Pests in the Waitakere ranges include wasps, mould, rats, goats and pigs. These species are considered predators and parasites, these species benefit while their prey species is harmed. Wasps and mould kill native trees for shelter and food. Rats, goats and pigs prey on native species of birds, insects and fauna. Predation by introduced species of native species both threatens native populations, but also the balance of the ecosystem. With predatory niches being taken, these pests not only threaten their prey, but also native ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on The Impact of Sanctions on Idi Amin s... From the time Idi Amin came to power in Uganda until the time his regime fell, his brutal rule negatively impacted Uganda in every aspect of its existence. In 1971, Idi Amin along with military support, ousted Prime Minister Milton Obote while he was out of the country in Singapore attending a Commonwealth summit meeting with many other leaders of African and European countries. Over the course of his violent reign, Idi Amin killed between 100,000 and 300,000 of his own people and doomed the economy with the expulsion of those of Asian nationality. Many of his victims were killed for no reason, or for a very insignificant action. Amin was in power from 1971 to 1979 and proved early into his dictatorship that he was very powerful. Only one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only did Amin harm Uganda by killing a lot of its population, he also was the cause of an almost complete economic collapse, when, in 1972, he declared an economic war on the Asian population in Uganda. Uganda s economy relied heavily on its Asian population because they ran most of the manufacturing and trade sectors as well as making up a large portion of the civil service. Amin s order of expulsion for the Asian population gave them three months to exit Uganda. They were given British passports and the businesses they left behind were turned over to Amin s supporters. Amin not only decimated the population of Uganda during his despotic reign but caused the economy to falter and fail as well. As his reign of terror went on, news of Amin s crimes and atrocities began surfacing internationally, spurring retaliatory actions from countries all over the world. The United States as well as the United Kingdom, Japan, France, the Netherlands, and West Germany played a large role in Uganda s trading by being the largest exporters of their coffee. The United States exported the most, being responsible for 75% of all the coffee exported by Uganda. In the beginning stages of Amin s reign, the United States did not do much more than denounce Amin and the major violations of human rights being committed under him (Nurnberger 71). Through the thesis and knowledge of Uganda s economy from William Goold, the legislative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Enlightenment Argument The Enlightenment Period, otherwise known as the Age of Reason was a period in time when intelligent individuals believed if given the ability to reason from God or nature, they would be able to unveil truths and find answers in any proposed question (Background Essay). The Enlightenment period started in France where thinkers from Britain, France and throughout Europe questioned the eccentric traditional authority and took in the idea that humanity could be improved through rational change. French philosopher Voltaire who appraised and promoted freedom of speech believed it would lead to a stable society and was the best weapon against bad government. A new society should prioritize the Enlightenment ideas of freedom of expression because there are different groups of people who struggle to gain full access to speak up because of reasons including poverty, racial discrimination and cultural pressure. Although a strong case could be made that freedom of economics would be better to focus on, this argument is unconvincing because the wealth would eventually be unevenly distributed, limiting freedom of the many unfortunate others with less luxury. To begin with, all men are created equal and independent with their own natural inalienable [life, liberty, property] rights to have their opinions heard. Their freedom to speak up would not only encourage social evolution, but would also lead to better ideas and promote a world with no misunderstandings. Henry David Thoreau once ... • 5. Essay On Veterans Ethics Over the last decade or so we have seen our country fail our Veterans on so many different levels. The U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our Veterans are not being adequately taken care of. Some would say this is a mere oversight in our government, but to me it is a lack of ethics. Menzel defines Ethics as values and principles that guide right and wrong behavior. When we look at the landscape of our Government beginning with the Executive office we see a lack of leadership in my opinion. The President of the United States should be the biggest advocate for our Veterans. Unfortunately, we see decisions that are made based on political motives instead of what s right for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the ... This is probably one of the greatest changes in child care norms that this country has seen in the past 30 years. Once upon a time, when a woman had a baby she almost always quit her job to raise her child, depending on her husband to support her and her child. Then along came the idea of maternity leave. This is when a woman takes a certain amount of time off to be with newborn. Once this time period was up, the woman still had a job to go back to. The change in policy that allows women and men to bring their newborn children to work with them is, in a sense, just one more change in our country norms and values. At one point leaving your child with a baby sitter or at a daycare center all day was considered being a bad parent, meaning it was the norm to stay home and take care of your child yourself. Then, as divorce rates went up and more women were forced to raise their children on their own, that changed and it became the norm for women to go back to work after a set time for maternity leave. This also made sending you child to a daycare center or leaving them with a babysitter the norm since you couldn t be there to take care of your child. With women being allowed to bring their babies into work with them, that is again changing the norms of society, specifically those having to do with the care of children. Women used to be given a hard time when they brought their children into work with them, even if it was only for a matter of minutes. Now many of them are allowed to bring their children in for a whole day, every day. This is enabling women to care for their own children and raise them in their own way with their own values, instead of entrusting those important responsibilities to someone else. Mothers are also forming a closer bond with their children in an important time in a child s development. This will lead to a stronger bond later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Facing hard challenges and knowing how to deal with them is a part of being a great leader all of which are Chief Powhatan showed. Chief Powhatan whose proper name was Wahunsenacawh, was the superior chief of Tsenacommacah, an alliance of Algonquian speaking Virginia Indians in the Tidewater region of Virginia at the time English settlers landed at Jamestown in 1607. In his address to Captain John Smith Chief Powhatan expresses how he desires peace between the settlers and the Tsenacommacah. He utilizes distinct rhetorical elements such as rhetorical questions, diction and argumentation to further support his view on what he desired to occur between his people and the English settlers. Chief Powhatan begins to address his statement by using rhetorical questions in order to support his claim of peace. For example in lines 5 through 7 Powhatan says Why should you take by force that from us which you can have by love? Why should you destroy us who have provided you with food? What can you get by war? Obviously Powhatan doesn t expect Captain John Smith to answer his questions but he uses this in order to create a growing tension that drives a questioning mentality about whether using force is the best method when love is another alternative. He also recounts on how it is unwise and unethical to break ties with the people who have fed and given shelter to the settlers. Without them the settlers would be starving and freezing to death turning to barbaric methods of survival. In line 9, he continues to support his claim by saying what is the cause of this jealousy? , this is important because the settlers became envious of how the Tsenacommacah were so well developed, having shelter, and food. Having these benefits over the settlers Powhatan came to the conclusion that the settlers would attempt to pilfer all that the Tsenacommacah had acquired. With this in mind Powhatan decides to express his desire for peace so that neither side would eventually aim for violence from lines 9 through 15. Chief Powhatan continues to enhance his argument by using diction to add more emotion and meaning to the message he is trying to convey. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Our Inner Circle, By Michael Gomez Essay How we regard ourselves and our place in the world is often how happiness is measured. Connections crafted with one another are frequently at the axis of that self perception. Friendships, family, and community provide us shoulders to cry on, extended hands to lift us up when we are down, and share in our proudest achievements. Within our inner circle we feel safest and most as ease. That circle is also part of a greater group we call community. It shares similar values, language and often religion. The community protects each inner circle, fostering a common culture that allows its members to feel at ease even when venturing beyond the inner circle. Being extracted from that inner circle and community through use of force, without warning, and relocated across the world with no ability to commune with those in which a profound bond was formed is analogous to death. For over 400 years, millions of Africans and their American slave descendants lived with that nightmare. Dr. Michael Gomez wrote, Words will never convey the agony, despair, and bewilderment of these innocents, the depth of their suffering, the pain of their separation. Monopolistic Literature Review Quality and product variety in a monopolistic screening model with nearly rational consumers is an article written by Suren Basov of The Department of Economics. This article is about monopolistic, where the author assumed that the producer is a monopoly. In this article, the author s main focus is on the case when the irrationality parameter is small in comparison with the characteristic utility differentials but large in the comparison with flavor proliferation costs. In this paper, the author considers a model with two types of consumers. The quality preferred and the variety preferred consumers. The author assumes that the consumers are nearly rational. Also the author assumes that the consumers only care on the quality of the goods and not preferred to the flavor of the goods. Despite of that preference from the consumer, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author graphs the interaction between quality and variety of the goods using an oligopolistic market, where the consumer tastes are differentiated. Along with the vertical dimension is the quality of the goods while in the horizontal dimension is the flavor of the goods. The correlation between the quality and variety depends on the way the goods enter to consumer s utility, joint distribution and their market structure. That makes it impossible to come up with a clear prediction. The author organized this article in six sections. The first (1) section is the introduction, where the author introduces his study and tells some points or information about his paper. The second (2) section is where the author remind its readers about the Luce model of probabilistic choice. Road Trip Into Tradition Research Paper Road Trip into Tradition Every year, my family makes an effort to travel across the country from our hometown in Tennessee to southern California to visit family. Our family has celebrated many traditions over the years, but this is one that means the most to me. Also, some of the most memorable moments of my life happened during this tradition. It all started when I was around 4 years old. My family decided to move away from the big city in Southern California to a more country setting more suitable for raising children. Ever since, we have made the trip back and forth, only missing one year since. This unique tradition has helped me to develop to appreciate my family and bring us closer together. Our trek starts in Tennessee, and goes through five states before reaching California, at the other end of the continent. Arkansas is mundane driving through, with nothing really interesting to look at and see, save lots of trees and cows. Oklahoma is just one big plain, making it even worse than the previous state. It also has wind turbines, which is the only object to break the monotony of the landscape. Texas has tons of oil fields filled with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes though, it can cause some tension in the backseat, when one of us has all four wild cards. • 29. Methamphetamine Argumentative Analysis Neil Postman believes the world focuses on entertainment values and not on real world issues. These beliefs are true; the argument is well qualified because in this world, many Americans focus their ideals on celebrities instead of aspects of importance like drug abuse. People invest the time in the material objects and celebrities whereas there are plenty of other problems in this world that Americans seem to ignore or refute. Methamphetamine is known for causing brain damage, but people tend to disagree on this concept that methamphetamine has no dangerous effects on the cognitive ability. In fact, Carl Hart, an associate professor of psychology, adamantly disagrees to the dangers reported by media and other research professionals (Merino). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was determined that cocaine stimulates the central nervous system which increased the heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and body temperature (Blachford, Krapp). Cocaine in the natural coca leaf state is not, whatsoever, addictive nor does this drug create a euphoric reaction in the user, but when chemically altered, the drug is addictive (Blachford, Krapp). Bupropion goes by the name of poor man s cocaine because of the inexpensive price of $2.50 per pill and the cocaine like high the user receives (Koshy). • 32. Causes Of Colonialism In Canada When looking at Canada as a whole, we often tend to overlook the past events of Indigenous groups who have suffered through Colonialism. As I read about this issue, I felt sympathy for the Indigenous peoples, as it was overwhelming for me to find out that this much discrimination has occurred in a nation as diverse and developed as Canada. Reading more about colonization helped me to make connections between the issues and topics I have learned about in class, and how they can be traced back to European contact with the Indigenous peoples. The Colonial powers in Canada rested in the hands of the British and the French, who declared sovereignty over the territories which rightfully belonged to the Indigenous peoples (Cochrane et al. 70). The worst effect of colonialism is the exploitation, domination, and subjugation of the people by the imperial power (Cochrane et al. 71). Due to the fact that their rights were determined solely by the white society s rules, one of the only governance options left for Indigenous peoples was to become independent of the Canadian state (Cochrane et al. 87). The Royal Proclamation Act of 1763 guaranteed the protection of lands for Indians under the Crown, and required any colonists occupying Indian lands without the permission of the crown to evacuate; however, these rights to Indians have been much ignored (Cochrane et al. 70). • 34. Impact Of Trade Agreements On An International Scale I. Introduction Trade agreements have been around for the past several centuries, and naturally, they have evolved. Earlier on, they were used exclusively as agreements between nations to reduce tariffs on each other s products. Tariffs, however, were not the only way a nation could protect its industries. Trade agreements have evolved to address this situation, and instituted measures to disincentivize circumvention of the spirit of these agreements. Evolving still, trade agreements have now grown into massive collectives between nations that regulate more than just trade. Moreover, these agreements have become political tools to cement solidarity between nations, and are used to harmonize economic regulation on an international scale. ... As the lead on TPP, the United States would have been able to shape regional trade in the Asian Pacific to its benefit by building a network surrounding China. Specifically, opening markets to Asia would allow for the United States to craft the economic rules in the Asian Pacific to preference TPP states, which in effect, would make it harder for a competing regulatory environment to be enacted. Obama s stance was rooted in keeping the international status quo while trying to break into Asia and counteracting China s economic clout in the region. Newly elected President Donald Trump, however, has already come out and stated his opposition to the TPP; indeed, going so far as to include US withdrawal from the TPP as part of his agenda for his first day in office. The TPP has faced public scrutiny during this election year particularly because of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which has been decried by the public for some time. When now compared to Malayan Shipping, Crown appears to possess much of the same indicative facts that had caught Malayan Shipping as a resident of Australia. Mr Sleigh had similarly made decisions relating to his business while in Australia and had drafted contracts that were then intended to be signed outside of Australia. This was seen as the essential test confirming both carrying on business and CM amp;C in Australia. • 36. Argumentative Essay On Horoscopes Horoscopes are frequently consulted in day to day life. They are a diagram of the heavens, showing the relative position of planets and the signs of the zodiac (Dictionary.com, 2015) that use the time of a birth to foretell events in a person s life. People have attempted to explain the seemingly illogical events of life such as: wars; weather abnormalities; economic hardship, and the link between people s lives to the stars above. This resulted in the making of a combination of religion and science astrology (Grabianowski. E, 2005). While most people who read daily horoscopes treat them as nonsense, others use them to guide their lives are more than likely influenced by them. There has always been an argument about the reliability of horoscopes and whether people should blindly place their faith in them or not. It needs to be determined whether astrology should be treated as a real science instead of a pseudoscience; whether people should live by their horoscopes; if different religions have their own way of reading and making horoscopes; and what people use horoscopes for. • 37. The Effect Of The Thermal Resistance And Properties Of An... Introduction: The purpose of this experiment is to study the effects of how fins affect the thermal resistance and properties of an object. The experiment conducted analysis on three cases for three different plates which were subjected to convection from a blower. The first plate had two fins, the second had one fin and the third had no fins. Each plate had an electrically generated heater in the base. Each plate also started in the same initial conditions. Each plate was well insulated around the base, was painted black and assumed to be a black body with an emissivity of 1. For each case, the wattage of the heater was recorded initially and finally to determine the average heat generation. A constant air flow was applied to each plate by a blower. The methods for recording data involved using thermocouples to analyze the temperature over time. Once a steady state temperature was observed in LabVIEW, then a thermal camera was used to obtain the infrared profiles for each plate. The methods involved in interpreting the infrared profiles consisted of using software to determine the temperatures at the plate, fin base and fin tip. The experiment was conducted in order to gain insight on how fins affect thermal resistance of an object. General assumptions include steady state, constant thermal properties, constant freestream velocity of air, identical fins, negligible surface area from thermocouples on fins, black body, neglect conduction resistance form black paint and ...
